No Jumper, coolest podcast on the world.
And today, I got an interview with an artist who I'm actually a big fan of.
I actually became a big fan.
Getting ready for this interview.
All-Star in the building.
You know, Big R.
All-Star, J-R in the building.
Ficking with No, J-R.
Can people call you junior or is it only J-R?
No, you can't call me J-R.
Look, Adam, you know damn will you can't.
I was just wondering.
I don't know if that's normal or not.
That's what he asked that.
You know, that's a card to see.
It's J-R.
How was I supposed to know as a Cardinal soon?
Man, you know that.
I think that's after a few interviews I got.
I didn't document it.
I'm going to be honest with the music, but I didn't really like tap in with the other interviews
just because I'm looking at the titles and I'm just like, bro, I know he got better shit
to talk about than this.
Hey, look, that's between y'all in that space.
I do what you get there.
I'm very critical of the titles because I know the title is going to be the best thing
that you talk about in that 10 minutes.
And if the title doesn't sound that good, I'm like.
Like the hell's a boy.
But then sometimes the title.
they avoid the really good title because they don't want to be disrespectful, you know?
Right, right, right. I feel that. I feel that.
Yeah, not me, though. I'll just go for it.
You know, that has some motherfuckers in a tight spot, though.
You don't want to be saying that too crazy.
It's true.
And I feel like a big part of why Vlad sometimes doesn't have the best reputation
or people like talk shit about them.
I think it's all about the titles.
I think, too, that shit just come with, like, after a while, like, people start running
with shit because it'd be like, you hear the question.
So you know damn well if you can act some bullshit
That's how I'd be wondering like how these niggas not snitching
But you somehow find a way to get on camera
And say all this dumb-ass shit
You know, that's a hard of that story
I mean the level of like self-snitching is so crazy
And then because people tell on themselves on camera
On their Instagram story and in the songs
And then as soon as that's an interviewer
Having a conversation with you
It's like, oh, he's trying to get me to snitch
Me if I'm gonna say some wild shit
I'd much rather do it at my actual job
like in the studio.
Right.
Like, shit, that's probably the best way for you to get some money off of
if you're just going to be doing some bullshit.
Right.
I didn't came on no jumper and just said a bunch of wild shit.
But it's crazy because sometimes you'll be talking to people
and you'll realize that they got all kinds of shit in the street
and that they leave it all off the songs.
Because that's so rare in rap now.
I need to be.
It's smart, though, yeah.
It'll be a lot less people in jail for long-guised times.
Mm-hmm.
I was talking to a rapper the other day
and he was just telling me like
he's like
I got I did two years in federal prison
and it was like I was like
and he's like they used my lyrics against me
and I'm like but your lyrics aren't even that crazy
you're not talking about like anything you did right
and he's kind of like yeah but like
you know they built a case that this was a gang
and that I was the leader of the gang
based on the lyrics and shit and he's like imagine how much
worse it would have been if I was actually
really putting my dirt out there
right no that's true though because
a lot of times with this shit it'd be like
overall, I think, like, police work.
Now, the difference between, like, I guess the feds and the police, of course, is a clear
difference.
But the clear difference, for real, for real, it's like, man, police don't even be doing shit.
All they do is just gather giving information.
Like, especially with this rap shit, this YouTube shit, they just be gathering giving
information.
They ain't like they really got to hit the streets and figure this shit out.
Right.
Nica posted it.
That's why when the cops actually figure something out, you're always kind of amazed
because so often you see them not even trying.
I dare and they don't even think they ever figure it out.
Yeah, but once in a while.
Once in a while, there'll be a murder that's like a big enough deal
that they actually do some crazy shit to figure it out.
And you're like, what?
Like, you could do that?
Like, why aren't you solving all these?
That's what I say.
I feel like they break out some, like you said,
they break out some secret shit when it's important.
We got to figure out why this is happening.
Yeah.
But other than that, you can just die in the streets.
You'll be all right.
Pretty much.
Okay.
So tell me a little bit about your earlier.
days. Bad shit. Or as far as the rap shit or just coming it up period. Childhood. Let's go all the way back.
All the way back. Childhood, man. Shit, I was the first born and shit. So me and my mama moved
around a little bit when I was younger and shit. Always in Detroit or you live anywhere else?
I always lived in a D. Okay. Yeah, but I always led in the D. Lid in Highland Park. That's just a little
city like in between Detroit, like in the middle of Detroit. I laid there for a minute too and shit.
Okay. But no, I just growing up, it was like,
Normalhood shit for real.
Wasn't super, super fucked up, but it wasn't always lit.
You know what I'm saying?
I grew up on the east side and shit, though,
my whole family from Joyrard and shit.
Okay.
And you had a bunch of brothers and sisters, or?
I had a bunch.
I had two brothers and shit.
Okay.
On my mama's side, I got a couple siblings on my dad's side.
I already interact with and shit.
Okay.
But I grew up with my brothers and shit.
Right.
And was it, I mean, having a couple of brothers your age
Does that kind of propel you into getting in trouble more?
I think, like, no, because it was three of us, and it was just my mom.
I think what that shit be doing, like, everybody can't be attended to.
Right.
So, yeah, damn near.
Because somebody will probably be a wild card, if not everybody.
Right.
Because if mama working, you know what I'm saying, and we all doing us, like, you know,
it's just averages.
You might have one good apple, somebody decent, and somebody going to be fooling.
Right.
But I mean, if a single mother has three kids and one of them is acting up, it's going to be kind of hard for the other ones to stay fully out of it a lot of the time.
Yeah, a lot of times, but it also depends.
Like, that type of shit be so circumstantial, you know.
One of them might have a daddy.
The other two might not have a day.
It's just a bunch of different circumstances that go into that type of shit for real.
Facts.
And also, we know a lot of people who don't get caught.
And that's really the biggest factor, you know?
True.
So you were getting in trouble from young age?
What were you doing? You were doing good at school?
Man, like when I was young, young, school was fire.
I was firing school.
I used to win the spelling bees, all the type of shit.
Yeah.
But you don't get older, just get bored to the street shit.
You started wanting shit, you know, you started doing shit,
started getting a little crime and shit.
So that's what happened, like, you know, like 13, 14.
I was stealing cars and shit.
Stealing cars?
Yeah.
Wow, what do you do after you steal it?
You sell it.
To who?
Or you sell, you know.
What's his name?
You know, we ain't gonna say all that.
I went to jail for all.
This shit already does, right?
It doesn't even matter.
But, you know, just back, silly cars, fucking with chop shop, shit like that back in the day.
Wow, okay.
And so you were doing that, like, your whole time as a teen or just for a little while?
That was, like, some early shit.
Right.
Then, niggas started fucking around, like, you know, getting more introduced to hustling, for real, like, hands-on.
Always grew up around that shit, you know what I'm saying?
You get older, like, now you actually in the streets.
Like, all right, what's on this side of the fence?
You know what I'm saying?
the further you get into this shit,
depending on what type of nigga you is,
it's probably gonna determine, like, your path.
I'm one of them niggas who I literally did everything.
I feel like I've been on every side of this shit.
I've been hitting leaks on houses, all that shit,
like hitting leaks on cars, all the type of shit.
And do you feel like you were motivated by just wanting
to get some money so you could get out of your situation,
or were you the person who was motivated by, like,
wanting girls to think you were cool and all that kind of shit?
I think a lot of times when you guys,
you grew up in them environments you don't even really be wanting shit but what you think is like some
good shit like you be like all right i want some um i want to have money i want to be hopping out
fresh i want to add a nice car rins whatever the case may be all right be telling niggas it'd be
taken a lot of times like you'd be down there needing to get a lot of the shit you quote unquote
want it or you felt it's going to be the game breaker to realize that shit ain't shit and you still
ain't about to be happy for real you know what i'm saying yeah yeah
No, definitely.
Anyone who's thinking that, like, damn, if I just had, like, a couple of really dope cars or some shit, then I'll be happy.
It's like, what?
You know, niggas be thinking that.
Like, bro, it'll be straight if I had a hell cat.
Like, hey, if I had a cat, this shit will be all right.
Yeah.
Niggas be thinking that.
But, like, just, when you don't be having that shit, you don't even understand the responsibility that be coming with more.
You know, you go on more.
You go on more.
People around you go on more.
People who ain't been around go on more.
That shit is.
But so at a certain point does it go from like, oh, I'm just doing this to get some money to like, oh, no, I'm trying to like stunt.
I'm trying to look fresher than everybody else.
I'm trying to like really be the man.
Like, niggas be trying to always make it seem like they was hustling or I was trying to feed my family.
Niggas was trying to buy some pants and shit.
Like you feel me like they just try to look sweet.
Yeah, for real, for real.
I feel that for sure.
Okay.
But were you thinking about rap during all this?
or?
Hell no.
No.
Hell no, what's so crazy?
I didn't even realize how much I cared about music to like a little bit, like, later on, like,
probably in my teenage years.
Like, damn, I do, like, but I never was into, like, rapping.
I always was, like, a listener, like, when I was younger, I remember, like, I was young, young.
And, like, one of my uncles had got me, like, some albums for Christmas and shit.
Like, I was, like, 10, and he had got me, like, reasonable doubt.
and shit like a couple albums and shit,
like some classic shit, though.
Then I remember like,
I got a big homie and shit.
I grew up down the block from and shit.
Niggie, we used to always ride around.
My nigga Mac, he big on like albums and shit.
Like, he used to always want to listen to the whole tape.
So he riding around in the caddy.
So like I always been like into music,
but I never thought I'd be like rapping and shit.
But were you just like paying attention
to all the local artists who was coming up and everything?
Yeah, that was lit.
Like I always fucked with like the shit
I was going on at the crib on the music scene.
Right.
Even since a little nigger when there was street lures
and cheddar boys and shit, you know what I'm saying?
Right, definitely.
Okay, well, you got locked up early on?
Yeah, I was always getting locked up.
What age?
Or what was the long bid?
Wasn't there a good one in there?
I had a couple of little.
The longest I ever really been locked up though,
like in-doorhood, I did like a year and a half
for some shit, you know what I'm saying?
And then like Juvie, I was ending out of Jovey, though.
I was bad back then.
It was rapidly ending out of juvenile and shit.
Right.
For sure.
Okay.
And so then at what point do you decide to get more serious about the rapping?
How is this good?
The rap shit, like, it really came about, I was fucking with some niggas.
Like, I had some homeboys and shit back in the day of shit.
Day rapped and shit.
For real, for real.
And it was just like always been around kicking it, you know what I'm saying?
In the studio coming up with ideas and shit, you know what I'm saying?
Nigger, like, bro, you need to rap.
you feel him then one of my home boys was just admin about that shit you know what I'm saying
then we finally just did that shit but right when my first time hopping on one of the tapes and
shit like right after we was doing that bitch I got locked up or whatever so we locked up you know
tape doing this little thing in the city come home it was like the group shit wasn't really
it wasn't really cracking how it was supposed to it like niggas wasn't really doing shit so
one of my one of my home boys was still like
up, nigga I was probably like, fuck with the most.
I was closer to it shit. And he's like, bro,
you got to turn up, bro. You got to get that
shit together and shit. That's how I even
first made a fucking solo
mixtape like, fucking, I'm gonna do it and shit.
What year are we talking that you first started
actually going for it? Because you got
songs of millions and millions of views from like four or five
years ago. Yeah, so, like
literally around that time.
Okay. Like literally, that's when it started.
Like, around that time, like, 2016
type of shit. Right.
That's when it was like, okay, I'm about to do this
shit. What'd you get locked up for that time?
Shit, uh, that was some shit in the East Lansing, some home invasion type shit.
Oh, okay. And that was just a sort of standard hustle that people had at that time?
No, it was me and the nigga. It's some documented shit, you know what I said? It was me of the dick I
fucked with it. You feel I don't fuck with no more, whatever. We had gotten to some shit.
He told on you? No, no, no, he ain't telling me. It was some niggas on the case who told. It was a few
niggas on the case. Like, but no, the one nigga I ain't tell. It was a couple of
the whole ass niggas who told and you got locked up for a little while off that yeah we just locked up
a little minute off that okay and did you this was before you even put music videos out and shit like
that it is before i ever had a video or that shit okay so then you get it out and you start
dropping the music yeah i got out and i remember i was on uh parole and shit and they had me on uh
because i went to boot camp and shit so i'm on parole and shit so they put me on um house arrest
i never forget how the shit even uh how i really was like i'm about to really turn up with the rap
shit we going i'm going to report and shit the p o you know they be on you about getting them jobs
and shit and i'm on house rest so they like niggin you need to be leaving the house if you're i never
forget i'm filling out applications and shit got to like the second page i'm filling out some shit for a
factory or some shit bro they just asking questions so wild so stupid i just cry right like hey man i
ain't about to go this shit real like i go back to jail or something before i be in this bitch do
an idiot this shit. What kind of questions
really offended? And I think it was like a tomato
factory and some shit. You was going to do some
bullshit like just stand in the cold, like
packaged tomatoes and some shit, some tip service
type of shit. I'm like, man, I'm not about
to do this shit, man. Wow.
Yeah. Yeah, some people are just born
thinking that they can't do some normalize shit like that.
I was the same way, man. It just didn't agree
with what my mind thought I was supposed to
be crazy. I literally was like, hey, I'll be
back in jail before I'd be going
to a job, doing some crazy.
Yeah.
Like stuff I only like like damn just dealing with tomatoes would have been wild.
Like I don't deal with tomatoes.
Right.
On my burger on my salad.
Oh, yeah.
So now I'm just in here fucking with tomatoes.
Yeah.
It's an alarming number of them bitches.
They're straight.
Right.
Now that I'm older and a little bit more humble, I kind of look at that and I'm like,
of course, yeah.
Like if you want to make it in life, you need to be willing to like work hard and do some
shitty-ass job for a long time.
At the time, that did not make sense to me.
Like, I would not have, you know, just, I was willing to do anything before I
I fucking sat around and had some motherfucker yelling in my face telling me how to put the
tomatoes in the bag.
Hey, my niggins just walked in.
I can get this blunt shit.
I get these bloods.
Yeah, yeah.
I don't know how this work.
I walk off camera for this type of shit.
You can bring it on, yeah.
Hey, deep breath that shit, cut.
He was in that CVS bag.
I like it, man.
Okay, so.
I was wondering how this shit works.
No, yeah.
People bring some drugs over the tip.
I think we got some drinking this bitch.
Oh, yeah.
Just don't pour up on camera.
They demonetized us for that recently.
Oh, damn they on that.
Desto Dub.
They got a man.
He poured up in a fucking soda on here,
and they just took the money away.
Oh, man.
We can't have that happening too.
Yeah, it is what it is.
But, I mean, if you pour it up,
it's not like YouTube's going to know the sodas three shades too dark.
This bitch is like you got an open ass on it.
Um, okay.
So that,
okay, so you're having a hard time.
doing the whole job thing, so what do you decide to do at that point?
Man, just lock in with the rap and find the new crime.
Right.
That's what time was.
Like, oh, we got to try something different.
We can't rob houses anymore.
We're going to do instead.
No, we can't rob houses.
Ain't no selling no dope right now.
You know, and then scamming fell into my lap.
Really?
Yeah.
I had some home boys who scammed and shit.
There's some swiping was going crazy and shit.
Right.
I went and fucked with them boys.
I turned up off that shit
Really I put all that shit back into like my music
This shit
Really?
I went to jail for that two yards
So I'm not incriminating myself
I already I went to jail for all this shit
How long would you say that you were gone
Before you got caught up with the scamming shit
Man
That was a short
Very progressive run though
I say what about
Probably about a five six month run
Before that shit came crashing down on me
And I was back in jail
Wow
But I had a Pio that really really fucked with me
It was so crazy.
My P.O.
What I at first was really working all by tape.
She seen I wouldn't get no job, bitch shit.
But she was just cool people.
And like, I'm telling her, like, I'm doing this rap shit.
Like, I'm staying out of trouble, whatever.
Right.
Of course, that was cap.
I'm all going out of town, all type of shit.
I ain't even supposed to be leaving.
I'm doing there living in another state.
I'm just coming back to report.
Right.
But when I caught the case, I ended up getting probation.
I caught a little swiping case with her.
They gave me probation.
I'm still on parole.
And I was supposed to go back to prison.
Like, the whole time I'm locked up, she's telling me, like, hey, this shit crazy.
Like, your music actually taking off, like, my son and shit, listen to you and shit.
Really?
Like, him and his friends or that shit.
So when it came time, they had recommended I go back to prison.
And she didn't there put her job on the line for real.
She's like, I want you to come on.
Wow.
And she's like, don't fuck this up.
Imagine how crazy that must be to be a parole officer, just bragging to your kids about how you got a cool rapper as your client?
Yeah.
Like, she could really just, like, don't.
Like she was Trill, she had a hunting.
Ms. Fletcher, Sabrina Fletcher,
she was hunting. She was a hunted. That's my brother.
Right. So that's what the lifestyle was when you were
doing the scam of shit. You just be taking these trips
out of town. Living out of town.
Because Detroit's too hot, right?
Man, Detroit's too blow the fuck out.
Yeah, I figured that's probably blown out as soon as their shit came around.
You know, with Detroit, soon this stuff to start, it's all.
A week later.
Right.
They're dead near changing the law once Detroit
get a hold of some shit.
Like, oh, you're getting 10 more years for this,
These niggas is going too crazy.
That's what I'm surprised hearing you say you only did a year and a half
because don't they give out crazy-ass numbers for swiping now?
No, I ain't get the year and a half for the swiping.
I did the year and a half of the homibating shit.
Oh, okay.
Swipes shit I was sitting in that bitch for like a few months just going to court on that shit.
I had a, look, my first judge was a ho.
The nigga, um, Judge Groner.
Can I say Judge Grunner or a hoe on here?
Y'all ain't get trouble.
Yeah, Judge Grown or a ho.
Yeah, he's a bitch.
Yeah, he, he's a hugh.
The nigga, he had, I think he the nigger.
he had just cooked Kwamey.
And we had went in front of that nigga.
Defined cooked Kwame.
Kwame killed Patrick.
He cooked his ass.
Like, hey, you're about to go to prison for a long time, Kwame.
And he was happy to cook his ass.
Wow.
We're getting grown in the courtroom.
I'm already devastated.
As soon as I see, like, oh, we go out and see dog.
I get in that bitch, he instantly tell me, like, hey, you're going back to prison.
I'm like, hey, man.
But, like, up there in Wayne County, you can do this shit called like a blind
draw. Well, I don't know. I don't know if you can still do it, but like you get one chance to get out
of a judge courtroom and you can, you go end up in another George courtroom. Now, the trick is,
you don't know who the other judge go be. So you might get a worse one. No, I already had the most
bitch-ass niggins. So I'm like, just get me out of here. I'm like, if worse, because of worse,
if whoever I get do what he was going to do, it was meant, but I'm like, I ain't trying to
fuck with him. Right. But I end up getting the judge that gave me like 90 days in probation. Wow.
That's crazy.
I feel like going to court should not be like playing the lottery,
but you just made it sound like it's fucking basically like spinning the wheel.
I do I had to get out of Grotto Corridor.
He looked me in my eyes and was like, hey,
you're going back to prison.
Like we all need to do.
Oh, we need to talk about it's how long you going back to prison.
I'm like, man, get me out of here.
Wow.
That's bananas.
A niggas in a D know about Growner.
Fuck, groner.
Anyway.
So that didn't go well.
Now all of a sudden you're back.
back out just doing the music thing?
Or how'd you get refocused after that?
At this point, I come home, you know,
my little first mistake, get a bear, go home,
and I got a couple bands put up.
You feel me?
Music doing good.
My cameraman at the time, he had just like,
he was a nigga, he was out in the city,
you know, you're popping, you know,
he was moving around and shit.
He's like, hey, I know the next ones we need to shoot.
Because the whole thing was,
how I actually worked for me.
the whole time I'm swiping, I'm literally putting there in there everything that I'm spending back into the music.
You feel?
Like literally everything I'm spending like.
So I'm putting my cheese up.
You know, I had money for a lawyer.
My little time in jail was actually cool.
This time I'm in there riding the farm eating snacks.
You know, I'm having a ball in that bitch.
I'm just trying to not go back to prison.
Why is it different this time?
Because people know who you are and they're fucking with you more?
No, because I had some real pay.
Mm.
Okay.
JLB.
It's got to help too.
Just like real life?
Yeah, like jail, bro, really when niggas don't know,
the funniest most talented motherfuckers in jail.
You could do a cool little bit if you got some paper for real.
Right.
Not having that paper in jail just feel like you dying in that bitch.
You ought to see both sides.
I'd have been indigent in that bitch,
and I'd have been a nigga on the phone all day in that bitch.
So I know how I feel.
I don't know if anybody ever used that word on the podcast before.
It's a strong word.
I like that.
That's like that's fucked up.
Like, that's fucked up.
Like, you and that, like, look.
That's broke, bro.
Hey, being indigent is like a jail welfare.
Like, damn, bro.
Like, all right, fuck it.
We got you, bro.
Like, we got you, too face, all.
Like, you ain't got shit.
Like, for real.
Wow.
You indigent.
Like, that's why I, like, even when I went,
when at that time, I did have my shit together
and I'm really in that bitch.
Now I'm like, I'm like, the indigent niggas,
I'm like, hey, I was you before.
You went here for some bullshit.
You about to get out.
Now, you're about to keep committing crimes.
It's time for you to make a change.
Don't be indigent your next time in here.
You feel me?
Right.
Because every nigg in jail about to change.
You're about to get out, get the building, and shit.
I'm about to work on houses.
I'm about to work on cars.
They're about work on shit.
I'm just do better, you feel?
Don't be in this big energy because that's when jail dark.
But okay, what are the things that you can pay for in jail that make it a lot more enjoyable
if you have some money?
food uh just
oh man you know
that shit just like the world really whatever
you want whatever you went to
depending on where you at drugs
you know I ain't go
getting my current jail niggas in too much trouble
but they're having the time if you got your shit in order
yeah they're about niggas in that bitch oh D and
man you know what they in there doing
it's just like out here off spice or off good shit
I don't know what they're really off of it that bitch
you know
I hope they're being safe because, you know, them a lot of unnatural ingredients, I'm sure.
Yeah, yeah. Drugs are bad enough on the street. Imagine the shit they're getting in there.
Man, what? Like, the niggas who really steal heavy on the perks. Like, I pray for my niggas who be fucked with the purse, because that's a dirty game right now.
Oh, yeah. That's a dangerous one right now. Yeah. You've seen a lot of people dying from fake shit.
Yeah, yeah. I think it's more fake pills than real pills right there.
Mm. I think, like, thinking about it's to the point where niggis is.
got fake fake shit.
Right.
Like, now we got some fake fentanyl that don't even kill you.
This shit is going to fuck you up.
And they got a fake fentanyl that kill you.
You know, this shit double-sided.
That shit will make you hop off drugs.
And the irony is that when Kodak said the shit about he took the fake perk because he had
gremlin, there's a lot of people.
He might have been joking, maybe.
But there's a lot of people.
There's a lot of gremlins.
There's a lot of people out here.
There's a lot of gremlin.
They know the fake pill.
The pill's fake.
Hell no, they're not going to turn away.
Man, what?
That's just that addiction shit, though.
I know how that should be.
Some people don't even really, like, just sometimes smoking.
People get addicted to just the act.
Oh, yeah.
Big time.
You feel that?
You smoke cigarettes?
Oh, you just got to do it?
No, I don't smoke cigarettes.
But you ever, like, had somebody, you ever start bumming some cigarettes?
And then all of a sudden...
I smoked a cigarette before.
All of a sudden, you can kind of feel it.
Like, damn, I could see myself smoking 20 of these a day.
Man, you'll get latched on in them all.
It just feels so, like, comforting.
and easy, you know?
I think that's why, like, this shit,
you got to be able to control this shit.
Like, I know it's hard, but I think, like,
a lot of times, especially with this rap shit,
if you see your whole life dwindling away
because you're on drugs,
it's like, damn, how you can't stop?
But shit, I ain't never been to that point,
so I don't know.
You never felt like, yeah, like a problem with addiction,
even if you experimented?
I mean, no.
I say that.
I'm still a hypocrite.
I'm addicted to weed.
I can't do shit without getting hurt.
But that's how I know not to get addicted to shit else
because it's going to be ugly.
Yeah, no, definitely.
I feel that way, but, you know, it's easier for me.
Like, every drug I ever done in my life,
I was able to just stop at some point.
A lot of people ain't that lucky.
A lot of people have a lot harder time with that.
So I could sit here on the podcast
and talk about drugs.
Like, it's kind of whatever.
I always got to try to kind of remember.
Hey, hold on.
Ain't no, um, ain't no jumper waters.
Uh-oh.
But y'all give me a standard order.
We didn't give him one of the ones with the sticker.
Oh, man, you're going to fall out of here.
Oh, that's all bad.
Somebody's in trouble.
Gina's collapsing on the way out the door.
Oh, shit.
Yeah, definitely.
But, okay, so, uh, all right.
You get out after that bid, or no, you were still on the, uh, the scamming situation,
which didn't really get you too much time.
No, now we out.
Now I'm out on probation and parole.
Right.
I'm going to be real at this point.
Like, hey, I'm about to rap.
You start taking them more serious.
But did you already have millions on your videos at this point?
No, not yet, but them bitches was gone.
Damn, we don't got no stickers.
And like in Detroit, you know it's on when all the strip clubs started calling.
When you really get your strip club rotation going, I came home, you know, I got shows on the floor.
Like I said, my cameraman at the time, and he's telling me what videos to shoot next.
Right.
He's like, we're about to shoot these bitches.
He was on some real niggas shit, too.
He was like, bro, you ain't got to pay for these bitches.
We need to just shoot these, really dick and shit.
we knocked them bitches out
that shit took a lot of that shit to the next level
well not even the next level
just in the city I'm progressing more
you know you getting that little stream and money and shit
and I mean how much of it
at that point is you like connecting with
other people who are popping up like how much of it is
networking and making connections
with people who can help your career versus just
making the music and putting it on YouTube
I think at that point it was
definitely still just like
every nigger who I did in their link to
it initially I made
at the nigga I recorded that studio.
It was just like natural, like me niggas in there.
They're like, damn, this nigger hard for real.
Because you know, they knew me from the group,
but like I wasn't like the sweet nigger out the group.
You know what I'm saying?
I wasn't the most popping nigger in the group.
So they're like, oh, this nigger hard for real.
So he's developing and shit.
Because I was on some shit like,
I don't want to be nigg's friends.
Like shit, I just want to make the music and shit.
So that's always tempting.
The idea that you could just do the work
and not have to socialize or anything.
anything because i wouldn't even thinking because just how it was me and my niggas we wasn't really
running around dealing with a lot of like i'm not a nigga who just deal with a lot of niggas anyway
so i ain't never think like oh i rap not i need to be with a lot of rappers like that wasn't what
i was on right definitely but uh okay so the music as it's taken off are you getting attention
from labels or anything like that or what's going on uh no not at that time how the label shit
came in the play really um my nigga pooty um who uh over there at the family and shit in the d and
shit okay the niggie pooty really like i don't even know how to explain bro that nigga pooty
go get that bag though that nigga pooty popped up mama studio 17 that's the studio on the east side and
shit i'm in there and that nigga pooty really i dare think pooty just popped up out the sky
bro. Right.
That's gonna be on my interview me spilling this water
on myself. Take a note, we can cut it up.
Like, damn. But they go,
no, I'm wet. They go, no, I'm wet.
Fuck it, keep it on there.
You know what I'm saying?
That's very human.
Yeah, it's regular nigger shit.
That's like we need to see.
They be like, you're like talking crazy.
Like, bro, I'm a regular day.
I spill my water on my drip, all the kind of shit.
You know what I said?
That's a regular thing.
That's inspiration.
But the niggipo-pudy really just down there
with period out of thin there, bro.
Like real shit.
That nigga Pooey, I'm in the studio.
Who was I in there with?
I think that might have been the day I met the nigga DZ.
We all in there vibe.
Me, DZ, the nigga G.T.
A couple other niggins.
Shout out of G.
Niggins.
Niggottie just popped up in that bitch.
Hey, let me holl at you.
Right.
You all I said, but Pudy was true, though.
Pudy had like the empire situation going.
He was already locked in with Gazi and shit.
You know what I'm saying?
Okay.
And that nigga Pudy, like, hey, you can do some shit.
Like, I got to play for you.
and shit so I get to fuck up with Poodie and shit and niggas and man is worth literally like four months later like an empire they're talking about a bag not a wild shit though at the time I'm on parole their pro best shit so it really it ain't no leave and all that shit I was over the first time like hey I'm out of the town this shit they like ditty you move an inch out this bitch of jail so I'm following the rules not so I can't even fly out here to Callie to sign the contract
So we didn't have to do all that shit digital.
I had the lawyer and shit so everything went smooth.
Nah, the motherfucking check come.
Walking in that bank.
Hey, shout-all Pudy, though.
Pudy a real nigga at the time, though.
I'm thinking, like, hey, I don't do this thing about five, six months.
This is a lot of money.
We walking in the bank.
I'm like, man, what the fuck about to go out through this bitch?
But shit, that was a good play.
That's how the Empire shit came about.
Right.
And was there part of you that was thinking, like, oh, you know, a lot of people seeing a lot of success with Empire, but at the same time, a lot of people want to kind of hold out inside of Interscope or Atlantic or something like that.
At the time, it wasn't even a lot of Empire artists. I think really like, because really, to my knowledge, the first niggas who are really seen locked down to niggins, real niggas shit is the band gang niggas.
Right.
It wasn't like hi there it's now where it's like shit. It's like there near a pipeline.
You know what I'm saying? Back then, I think y'all only remember the band gang, as far as, like, street artists in the deep being on empire and shit.
And then, like, the floodgates open a little bit after that.
Yeah, I mean, it's crazy because band gang really, they help set the stage for what's going on in Detroit right now in a lot of ways, even though they might not have necessarily blown up as big as some of the artists these days.
Yeah, like, nigga, band gang put in a lot of, like, street.
Strong work, though, real nigga shit.
Like, you can't even hold your nuts on them niggas.
Like, them niggas really, like, flooded this bitch,
like, real shit.
Them boys turned up, like.
They made, like, all right, first, like,
it was the Doe Boys and Team East Side niggas, like,
they turned that bitch up.
But the band gang, niggas, like, a lot of niggas,
like, it'd be like inner city politics going on and shit.
I don't get a fuck about that shit.
You know, they can say real shit.
Like, them niggas, like, made a lot of the other young
niggas, like, hey, nigger, we about the rap about scam
and wearing buffs, you know what I'm saying?
Them niggas turned up too.
Right.
Shout out bad guy.
Shout out to them.
So, okay, at what point in all this
did you get a shot?
I just got shot, nigga.
That's for later on.
Oh, okay.
You go at all too fast.
I'm skipping too much.
Look, you got the first interview.
That's what I'm saying?
Well, not the first interview, but probably
maybe the first good one.
No, you got the first interview since I got shot.
How long ago was it a year ago?
No, that show was in September.
Wow.
Yeah.
I just been chilling like,
I was recovering and shit.
I'm still kind of recovering shit.
Like I see I was like screws in my shit.
No, I know, yeah.
But like, no, I was chilling like,
niggas so dumb.
I really just got off the internet and shit
because I'm like, well, damn.
My head swallowed like a fucking watermelon.
I ain't about to do shit.
It ain't too much to post.
I got off the internet.
Look, the craziest shit,
because when it first happened,
you know, I hop on the ground,
just to let my people know, shit.
Like, shit, I'm good.
We about to get through this shit,
you know what I'm saying.
And another thing,
by getting like shot in the face and shit
I think like what I did
because I got so many DMs
this couple motherfuckers I still kick with
other motherfuckers who got shot in the face
like just getting to see me and shit
they like bro you just showed your face
they like nigga I ain't posted it
I'm like bro shit shit happens like I said
like niggas human so when you outside
for real like the shit happened
I was blessed enough to live so it's like shit
it's okay like nigga you'll be right
right well what do we need to talk about
that happened before
You got shot career-wise and everything.
You kept blowing up along that way?
Yeah, it was a lot of shit that happened along the way, for real.
Because the shit around this time, our first time the Empire did,
it was that, like, 17, 18, I think.
I think that was like 18.
Feels like ancient history, huh?
Man, that shit feels like forever ago.
I was like 18 and shit.
Right.
So then it was just a long journey and shit.
Like, niggas tried to help other niggas get off the ground,
all type of shit throughout the way.
or that shit like.
Well, you thought you were going to help your team get on as well?
Hell yeah.
Okay.
Hell yeah, I thought it was.
You say past tense you thought you were.
What happened?
You just got to like, like with this music shit, especially I think what happens is, especially
like with the viral, like, phases that we in now, niggas think this shit is just easy.
And sometimes I ain't going to say niggas get lucky, but all this shit is to be like luck of the draw,
talent work. A nigga be
thinking like, all right, I know a rapper.
I'm about to rap and it's about to work.
And it just don't work like that for real.
Right. So you got to work through
a lot of that shit. Like when you're dealing
with groups of motherfuckers and
shit like that, you got to work through
a lot of that shit. And it really
be on like, how I'd be looking at shit.
A lot of niggas wait too late to determine
like what's good and bad for that career.
So much of it has to do
with like who the fans think
seems like a real one, who the fans think has like a cooler voice, who got cooler clothes,
who, you know, even like a lot of the street shit, you know, a lot of stuff the fans just
latch on to somebody because they know that he's really a criminal or whatever. And it's,
there's so many, like, intangible factors that it's hard to figure out. A lot of niggas are
crash out. I think, like, what happens to is niggas be so caught up and, like, trying to get
the big crowd or whatever that they don't understand. You build a real fan base. They
and there go make other motherfuckers
can form, you know what I'm saying?
That's why people buy fake
plays and shit. It's because they feel
like, oh, if this has a hundred million
fake plays, then it must be more
popular than everything else out there. I guess I should
fuck with this dude. It's cold as hell, you know,
I lost a lot of blood and shit. It's cold
than the bitch of this bitch. God damn.
Turn the tip up a little bit.
Yeah, for sure. I mean, do you feel
like that? Do you feel like you should have
blown up bigger somewhere along the road
and that somehow like you got kind of past
buy by some people?
I think
you can look at it
like that, but if you look at it like that
you're doing a disservice
to yourself, it's your shit
just about timing for real.
100%. Or if it's like really meant to be, because I
didn't have opportunities to do
certain shit, but they'd be like, all right, long
term, what is it going to look
like? Right. You know what I'm saying?
Because I was listening to your music on Twitch last night
while I was streaming for a while and I just
played like 10 videos in a row
and I saw a lot of people in the comments being
like bro, I fuck with all these different Detroit artists.
Like, how have I not heard of this guy or whatever?
And so when you say that, it's kind of like, shit.
To a lot of people, like, if they don't get exposed to it,
they're just not going to know.
But then I'm playing the shit and they start really, really fucking with it.
They could have got turned on to it a couple of years ago, too.
And I think, and I look at it like, I'm cool with building it out like that.
Right.
I ain't really tripping on.
We got another blunt.
You got another wood over there?
You know right here, too.
I ain't really.
No, I mean, rolled.
Whoop.
Take it back.
I think I'm about to sit on this bitch and twitle my fingers with him.
Hey, that's what I'm doing, man.
We're standing on big business with these woods.
You got a whole team of rollers over there.
It's a whole factory.
There's a whole team of gangsters with some weed roll.
It's all right.
It's like a...
I mean, I could make...
I could make any of them roll a blunt for me, except Genis.
You don't know how.
Um, okay, so where were we?
The music.
It's going crazy.
It's doing good.
But I don't see you as something.
I mean, I guess I've seen you with more features these days, but for a long time,
where you're not trying to, like, use that as a way to make your shit get bigger?
I like doing something like by myself.
Like, real thing shit, I like doing something by myself.
And then, like, once it was like, I was to a certain point, because once, like, niggas was popping,
it was like, okay, it's natural shit.
Everybody get to work with each other and shit.
But I don't be tripping on having a bunch of features and shit.
Like, I'm locked in, like, with the real niggies I'm supposed to be locked in with.
Like, I ain't tried to, every nigga who get away, like, oh, let's do some shit.
Like, I don't even be wanting to hear a lot of that shit anyway.
Niggas be playing too much.
Really?
Yeah.
Because, I mean, Detroit is kind of funny like that.
How it's like, they kind of have, like, a new rapper that people are excited about, like, every couple months.
Yeah.
It's just, like, like, clockwork right now.
So it's like, you don't want to get caught up in every face.
Do you think it's kind of like a bullshit hype machine sometimes?
No, hell no.
I never say that because it's like, it's so many niggas who is, like, actually going hard.
Right.
Like shit, I don't have to say no shit like that.
You got to let the progression play out.
Like, shit, do people go see who was what as the shit keep going?
I think what happens is a nigga get on this bitch
and be trying to tear other niggas down for like shit that went wrong.
That's true.
On their side of it.
And it's like, no, bro, just keep doing the work.
You go be all right.
Quit acting like a hoe.
Yeah.
Like, because a lot of these niggas didn't know that shit was going to happen.
You know what I'm saying?
That's true.
But sometimes I look at the fans.
I'm not saying about Detroit specifically, but, you know, there'll be like a bunch of dudes who are late 20s, early 30s or whatever, making music.
And then all of a sudden some 17-year-old kid comes through.
He's not as good at rapping as these other dudes.
But, you know, he's young and he looks cool and he got a fucking Pusha-Ski mask on and shit.
And all of a sudden the fans will, like, kind of be trying to convince me.
Like, this is the new dude.
And sometimes I'm looking at it, like, I guess.
Like, it's all right.
But, I mean, really, like, really?
I think that's because a lot of artists don't be trying to follow their path.
Like, you'll keep trying to just make shit for a certain demographic.
Right.
Like, no, grow up.
Like, all right, look, if my run, let's say, if I'm on the sixth year or just, like,
really having, like, a just solid fan base or something like that,
I'm thinking, like, all right, I'm not about to chase nothing that's getting further away.
These motherfuckers done grew with me and shit.
like that.
Niggas
to just keep trying
to make little nigger music.
Yeah.
Like shit, no, I grow up.
You feel?
You talk about what's going on in life.
I think that's just like
where I'm going with it even right now.
Like even just getting popped and shit
and how that shit played out.
It's just like shit.
All right, we're about to get a little bit more personal
to talk about more real shit.
Because like, you know,
I know y'all like hearing about my pants and shit.
But it would be like shit.
Yeah, I heard you talking about
how all the Ameri's got custom leather pads.
And you got a miry fax for the people out there, huh?
Yeah, you got a merry fax together.
But even with that shit, that shit still just be like,
if you into that shit, enjoy it if you not,
don't fuck the bag up for that shit.
Like, don't wear a miry's because I like a miry's
or because you see an industry niggia in the mirror.
Like, if you like a miry's, like even how this shit happened for me,
like, I'm like, oh, these good-ass jeans for real.
It ain't just because they're expensive.
Like, these are the best pants.
Right.
Like, this shit feel good.
You know what I said?
Right.
You know, make sure you liking this shit.
Don't just be doing shit because other motherfuckers doing it.
It's funny the Mike Amiri thing, because I never even thought about the fact that that's an actual person.
And then I'm interviewing some girl, and she's like, Mike Amiri is a white man.
He's coming into the culture and yada, yada, yada.
And I'm like, Mike?
I'm like, that's a dude.
Like, I didn't even, I never even thought about the fact that this is a dude.
He's talking like, Mike, don't pulled up in the hood with a truck full of jeez.
But I think she's older than me and she's like in that scene.
So she's seen him coming up over the years.
So she actually has like an opinion, which I don't have at all.
I'm like, oh, that's some expensive pants with some patches.
Okay.
No, I think you just got some good jeans.
You know, that's how that shit is.
It's just rap shit in this fashion and shit.
Yeah.
Like, I hope, you know, he have a good run.
Before we know, it'll be over for Mike in a year and a half
and niggas be stuck with $60,000 worth of pant.
Like, shit.
I've seen it happen.
I've seen a lot of people with, like, a closet full of Ed Hardy.
Man, looking crazy.
Eight months later, it's just like, what the fuck am I doing with this?
Niggas still got a little airy shirt.
Oh, they said it's about the main comeback, right?
There you go.
You got some vintage Hardy.
Hold on to it.
You got you some vintage Hardy.
For sure.
Okay, so yeah, you're doing your thing.
Are we getting closer to the shooting incident?
Because I feel like that was a pretty big turning point.
Let's talk about this assassination attempt.
That's what the fuck you want to hear about.
The whole thing has been great so far, but that does seem like pretty important to
Okay, let's get to the good part.
Yeah, right.
Let's talk about the shooting.
Look, look, that's all.
Look, we ain't talked about that anyway.
So let's get to it.
Okay, here's the, my first question is,
was this on some rapper shit,
or was this on some you being in the neighborhood
acting like shit to regular shit?
I think it was both.
Okay.
I was just out of bounds playing.
Out of bounds, so you weren't in your local territory?
No, I was in the city.
But, like, I was just playing, moving wrong.
I'm all in the vans.
having a good time i'm bopping around ain't paying attention hey i had said that shit too like
because niggas be trying to act like oh you got caught lacking like bro it's regular life shit bro
you know i'm saying nigger moving and grooving a real life you know you ain't just gonna be
on it all the time so that's where i went wrong shit i was outside playing what what time was it
late at night uh feels like a lot of this happens late at night yeah yeah it was late at night
okay i was leaving the event and shit like uh it was
like one o'clock of shit probably okay and would you if I had asked you the day before like
yo do you have smoke with people like are people after you would you have said no or yes
I would have said no so you didn't think the shit was serious like that no hell no niggas be
playing but clearly that niggas wasn't playing me that time right but uh okay so you're just kind
of what like driving around night niggas wasn't playing yeah hey I don't watch niggas play a thousand
nights the niggas came about to not play with me right and that's why a lot of people get
because they're out here acting like it's unlikely to happen. It is unlikely to happen.
But every once in a while, you're going to run into a bruiser.
Man, listen, I was outside playing. And it was like, I think where niggas go wrong, they
just try to make every other, if I did this, like, no, I shouldn't have been outside playing
at their real light. I'm trying to change this song. I'm asking this nigger a location, because
my camera bag got popped two. He's a real nigga. He, you know, he thugs
out with this thing got shot.
Damn, where at?
Tell him, man.
Where you get shot at?
In the arm?
God damn.
The funniest shit, I looked at the
nigger what did happen,
because I didn't know where I was shot at initially.
I'm just hearing the shit,
and I just felt something,
and I don't know if my motherfucking,
my leg,
because I'm long and shit,
I don't know if my leg had just, like,
I went in a shock,
it just floored the pedal.
But, like, nigger, y'all yank off,
so we hop up on the curb.
Like, it was like a tree.
I missed the first tree.
But that second tree was close as hell.
We bopped that bitch.
I look at this nigga.
That nigga looking at me so crazy.
I say, bitch, we ain't about to die.
Come on.
Not my adrenaline rushing and shit.
A nigga's so ready to get out that bitch.
I guess I ain't anything because this is the funny shit I thought about after.
When I say we got to get out the car, I done did some action shit and just like hopped out the window.
But the dough was unlocked.
It was wild.
You just saw that open window and you're like, fuck it, I'm out of here.
I got both feet up.
Oh, this bitch.
Give me the fuck out of here.
Right.
You feel me.
Then that nigga just went into the darkness.
It's all the type of shooting going on.
I mean, what the hell?
Wait.
Okay.
So you're parked at the red light.
They pull up on the side of you?
Man, it was, man, that shit was crazy.
Because like I'm hearing shit.
I asked this nicks.
I remember I'm changing the song.
I asked this nigger locations.
I might go shoot a video on my man's.
I'm like, what's the location?
And like, what's the location?
And like, I'm like, I didn't hear it.
I felt something.
But then I get to hearing the shots, you know,
it's tire screeching all the type of all this goofy ass shit.
The shit happened.
We smack to the tree and shit.
Boom, I get out this bitch.
Now I walk into the street, my manager and shit,
like, they was behind me and shit.
But they was like a couple lights down because I didn't left them.
Right.
He's walking up and shit.
Now, niggas looking at me because I still not knowing.
Then I'm hearing my blood and shit.
And then I'm like, oh, Lord, am I shot in the head?
Hey, that shit was wild when I realized it.
I'm like, I can't believe this shit.
I got shot in the motherfucking head.
How many bullets actually entered your body?
Two of them.
Okay, so the head and then?
Yeah, both of them.
Yeah, both of them.
Yeah, head and neck.
And so, but when you're talking about pulling up on the curb and hitting that tree or whatever,
and you're still hearing bullet shots or bullets going off, they're still trying to shoot you?
I ain't know why.
Them boys didn't come to play.
Wow.
Whoever that was, I honestly could say, I probably pissed them off pretty bad.
I can get them with that because the biggest ain't cut the place.
And you really don't know?
You don't know who it was?
No, it was like niggas were still shooting.
Right.
Like all some shit like, nigger, I'm going this way.
They car going this way.
I'm convinced niggas was just shooting out the back of that bitch.
Like, we is killing them.
And I remember, too, like, that's probably pretty pissed, too, if they had been waiting to kill me.
Because I had been sitting there.
outside the venue mingling and shit
and they probably sitting there like man this nigga don't come on
we're trying to smoke him right
I'm sitting there talking to people taking pictures
and shit you know so and this is
clearly not a robbery attempt this was just
a murder attempt oh no you tried
to robes you the guy's dumb ass smoked
right it wasn't like
like no we ain't out there dealy like that
like a nigga just about to walk up like hey
compromise your jury like no
we're gonna blow your dumb ass down
but niggas be act I think
niggas think having the niggas who don't really
do shit and be outside think having
the gun stop you from getting shot.
Right. Like your gun just morph
into a shield or something. Like if your
ass getting blew down, you're getting blew down gun
or no good. Right. Yeah.
No, that's definitely true. But you know, the
internet people, let them tell it. This shit, a video game.
Well, because just having a gun is a lot more than most people
they're doing. So then, but it doesn't really change the fact that if somebody
comes up to you with a gun is going down
unless you can whip that thing out in two seconds.
Yeah.
And the bullet is flying to your ass already.
Yeah.
You is about to be a shot nigga with a gun.
Right.
That is it.
All you about to do is had that bitch.
So I'm guessing that once you got shot in the head, you had no, like, you didn't know you got shot in the head?
Or could you kind of tell?
Oh, no.
I thought out real quick.
You get to, uh, you get to hearing them bubbles and shit.
That sounds really, really scary.
Like, you get to hearing that real audio or your insides.
I'm like, hey, hey, that shit was wild because you hear like,
I'm like, oh shit.
And what's that, like, blood exiting your body?
Yeah, and like big gopes.
Because, like, my tongue, I guess my tongue got lacerated too.
So I'm looking down, my tongue down, like, on my chain.
I'm like, oh, this out of control.
Hey, what, that shit looking crazy?
Because look, I didn't know.
Hey, like, he had tired to tell me.
So I get shot right here.
You know, he's on the passenger side.
So he's see my shit just blew the fuck up.
And I was wondering why everybody was looking at me so crazy.
Crazy. Because I'm out there talking, nicks.
I'm like, niggins. I'm straight.
Nigger, just get me to the hospital. I'm straight, nigga.
And meanwhile, half your head's blown up.
Man, the police done pulled up. I see him like, hey, officer, I'm good. Just get me to the hospital.
Now, this was the wild this shit.
The cops was like, all right, we go get two. I'm like, oh shit, I just might check out with him.
Because he didn't seem like he gave a shit at all?
That nigger didn't give a damn fuck.
And was part of the problem that the cops treat this shit like a crime scene?
So they're not really trying to get you out of there?
Man, listen. It's so many niggas shit.
shot all type of shit you know what I said oh a bunch of other people got shot man what it was some
motherfuckers in the car behind this got shot you know what I'm saying this nigga got shot I'm out
there just dangling shot with the nigga like we get to it in a minute so I'm out there on the
scene bleeding out for like 30 minutes now okay just out there bleeding out and shit and he wouldn't
let you leave no you can't cop a Uber to the hospital my manager and my man's end up down
they're about to beat his ass so another cop carter pulled up am i not ambulance never can't what the
fuck i'm just out there standing there just like fuck it just don't die i'm just telling myself not to
die the whole time like nigger when it first happened i once i told my manager and my other
man's like bro i'm just giving me to the spittle i told my my nigger mitch this shit was so
crazy hey because mitcher motherfucker i tell him like bro i'm good niggie just give me to the
hospital. This nigga go stop me.
I'm like, hey, look me in the eyes
and tell me you good. I'm like,
bro, I'm good. Call my baby,
Bob and give me to the motherfucker hospital.
Because whether you're good or not good,
you need to go to the hospital. Like, why the fuck
is he asking? That the nigga said, look me in the
eyes. Like, that was deep. But,
you know, like, that's my nigga, though. Like,
he had got popped before, too. So
that's my baby. We close like that.
That's really my dog. So he was just like,
I guess I don't know what he was on. But I
get it, but that was wild. Because I asked that
that nigga, like,
hey, what was me looking you in the eyes doing for like my health?
Like you wild as hell.
What the fuck?
So how do you finally get to the hospital?
Dumbass police, I get, I'm in the back of the car car now.
They taking us to, they're taking me to Sinai and shit.
We get right by Sinai.
Now I'm in the back of the police car.
I'm through.
There's blood everywhere.
I'm in there lost.
Oh, this shit.
This shit hanging off.
shit blew out of all type of shit.
I hear one of the police officers say, like,
I just, I just can't remember
where it's at. I said, you can't remember
where it's at. Well, I thought I said that.
I ended up finding out, like,
talk to some of the nurses and shitting people in the Trump,
you know, I got to the hospital.
Because I went to hospital trip and because I'm so mad
to find me because of the hospital. I'm walking the hospital
in my mind, I'm like,
give me to a motherfucker, bad ass or I Z.
Nurse told me, like, oh, no, it was just a bunch of
gargling and shit out.
I was like, you were saying that mentally, but when you were saying.
A bunch of, oh, when you were saying, yeah.
Yeah, like, because I'm talking and shit, but it's like, it's blood everywhere.
My tongue hanging out.
They're like, you wasn't saying shit.
Like, mentally you thought you said that, but we didn't get none of that.
Okay.
Because I remember, like, right before, because I, all, my biggest thing was, don't do nothing comfortable.
So, like, the whole time I'm out there, I'm standing up.
You feel me?
Because you figure if you get comfortable, if you fall asleep.
If you lay down or any of that shit, I'd be.
I'm like, because now I'm kind of like, I'm shot in head.
I'm a doubt to this bitch.
Right.
I'm like, don't go to sleep.
None of that.
None of that.
None of that soft shit.
Like, oh, I just need a break.
Is your life flashing in front of your eyes in a way?
I thought about everything.
Really?
I think I literally seen everything.
Like, for real, for real.
Like, hell yeah, my life flashed for my.
What's the biggest stuff that was, that had you thinking?
You got kids?
Yeah, I was like, dad.
You're thinking about them a lot?
Yeah, I was like, yeah.
I can't check out about my babies.
No, I never, like, really.
considered dying.
No, it was just like,
every time the police did some dumb shit,
it was like, damn, I don't know.
I'm like, I'm gonna get through this shit
off the strength, but I'm like,
they is fucking up.
Wow.
Because the last thing I remember, like, really before,
I guess I went to the coma and shit.
But by this time I'm at the hospital, like,
I got shot.
I think it's a hospital literally
probably like 50 minutes later.
Right.
The hospital, two miles away, though.
That's the crazy.
It took 50 minutes to get two miles.
No traffic.
I'm just out there bleeding and shit.
But I remember one of the doctor was like, he's just fucking alive.
Like, I don't even fucking know how.
Like, we got to get him through.
Fuck it.
Wow.
Like, that was literally like the last thing I heard.
Like, he's like, he's just fucking alive.
That must be fucking weird to hear the doctors or the surgeons talking about you.
Like, you're like a, you know, wounded animal.
Like, where like, ah, yeah.
Like, I guess maybe we can make him stay alive.
And you're thinking like, this is my fucking life you're talking about here.
No, like, they was cool.
we actually, a lot of us cool, not, because they were just like, you just walked in that bitch
with your shit blew off, but you like alive.
They like, we wanted to make sure you got through.
So, no, they're good.
But the bullet didn't hear your brain or anything?
No, no, no.
So what was fucked up?
And, like, you had your jaw wires shut, I assume, and that's why you have the piece of metal in there?
My whole shit was fucked up, though.
Right.
All of this shit, like, all of this shit was fucked up.
It was just the wildest shit, like, it was, like, fucked up.
But, like, certain shit that didn't happen, I'm going.
good like where I would have lost the tooth for some those teeth was already pulled type
shit oh really yeah it was just like a lot of shit so it ain't fuck up like my rap voice and
other shit like that there's a little shit like um like real shit i can only open my mouth like
35% though like i can't eat like a cheeseburger and or shit like that damn you got eat it with a fork
i ain't even go fuck with him no more oh hey this morning though i was leaving the studio high as
fuck and I shouldn't have did this.
I did go get a McGrittle.
And I ate the first one with the patty
on that bitch.
It wasn't good.
Bro, that bitch tasted like cat palms.
So I ended up
so I ended up just
motherfucking, uh,
just putting some jelly
on the McGrittle bread and eating it slow.
Like, fuck it.
And that has been,
you said that happened in September.
And it's not even the summer yet.
So this is like six months ago,
seven, eight months ago.
damn like you're still having a hard time
with your appetite and being able to get your mouth open?
No, I'm eating this shit.
Like, the only thing is just opening my mouth
to, you know what I'm saying?
Fuck.
Like to maximum capacity.
Are you supposed to get all those little metal pieces
removed from your guns and shit?
I'll be having to do like this little
little therapies, little treatments and shit.
Like one of them wilded as hell like
I supposed to take these dumb ass wooden sticks
right, put them in like the corner of my mouth
and pry my mouth open.
Like manually though
Like they really expect me to just sit here
Prime my fucking mouth open
That shit hurt like a motherfucker
I bet
Like I'm about to work this bitch
Up to 50%
So I can eat sliders
And fuck a burger
Fucking I'm just
Like they can't see
But there's like one little scar right here
Is that where the bullet went through?
Yeah the bullet went right right here
Wow
I do appreciate them niggas for having
Cheap ammunition
You know what I said
They did
Because it's the smallest scar
Like I totally would have thought
You just had a Zit or some shit
a couple weeks ago or something.
Like, they wasn't playing.
They just came with play bullets.
Damn.
No.
So if they came with hollow tips,
this would be a very different story?
It would be a different story.
I probably been through,
but that's what happens with, like,
you know what I'm saying?
I think they were so mad.
They're like,
we're about to just try.
Like, you know,
I ain't no nigger who just go die.
I ain't no hole.
No, you know,
you can't be playing with this shit.
I know you don't want to say
everything that you probably
potentially could say about all this,
but your overall impression
is that this was,
more of just a straight
he's a fly rapper
fuck him type thing
or was it more of like a nah
he fucked my sister type thing
it was probably just
some angry guys
with some pistols bro
you know how this shit be
they was having the night out
you know I said
like they're gonna jayr
playing too much
right
when do you realize
you were gonna be alright
nigger I told you
I knew I was gonna be right
the whole time
I was about to die
nah but when you got your tongue
down here
and you're walking in the hospital
that was wild
But like on surreal shit
By the time
I just
A lot of time was passing
And I wasn't dead
And I wasn't tripping
Like I'm chilling
Like I'm just trying to get there
You know what I'm saying
So but when I woke up
Now that was a little different
Waking up out there
Coma was wild
Because now I'm
This before I wired up
My face
They didn't get the surgery yet
I didn't there
My mouth wild
I'm just tubed up and shit
You were in the coma for how long
probably like a couple hours
Oh, that's it, okay
It wasn't nothing too crazy
Because by the time I got up
A couple hours later
I had got a phone
Got on my Instagram,
I'm seeing everybody saying
I was dead
I'm like, oh, that's great
Yeah, what was it like
To have everybody freaking out
on Instagram
I mean
Because we see it all the time
Like when people actually do pass
Or whatever
Where you see the comment section
Going crazy
And nobody really knows
If the person's okay or not
Because I'm sitting there fucked up
Like
Oh this bitch is
I think I'm dead.
I knew he was hating on me.
You just see a little shit.
It was just funny little shit.
Like, then, a lot of fucked up a little shit.
Because they think this shit a video game.
But, like, shit, I get it, though.
Wow.
I wasn't tripper for real.
Yeah.
That shit, I think that shit comes with trying to do this shit.
Yeah.
Wow.
What a fucking story.
So did that change how you thought about your music career or make you start
taking shit more serious or what?
Oh, yeah.
I got to drop, uh, I said, I started dropping this shit,
all that holding on the music.
Right.
You know what a nigga?
dropping what's them called the post humus or post homest whatever the fuck
album yeah obosterous yeah you know they got you doing souls with diggers you wouldn't
never win near and all the type of shit I was like shit you know it's just time to turn up you know
and really just I think I'm at the point where it's like really make just what you want to make
like the last couple years every year a label come along you get negotiations plans get to
change and then you might I had one deal really
get stopped by like the analytics guy.
Why?
At a major.
What was wrong with the analytics?
It was wild.
Like, it's some wild.
I guess you can,
you can edit out with you.
It was a major artist who was popping at the time.
So I guess it was like one of his homeboys.
So the dude of the analytics like it.
Because the deal then they're done,
we're about to go closing.
The dude of analytics is like, hey,
we shouldn't do it because this guy
only got this in my,
of the songs compared to JR with this amount of songs and dude got you know more streams
or whatever but my manager like well because daw got six songs with one of the hottest niggas
do you feel me they signed dude the bigger artist died dude flopped and you feel me damn like just shit
they really go on in this shit like like and the analytics got told us like i don't listen to music
No, but they are like that for sure, yeah, because you will talk to somebody at a label,
and they'll have a new artist that they found about it on SoundCloud,
and it's like they're not talking about the music at all.
They're just saying, look at how this song is performing.
Yes, it only has 10, 15, 20,000 plays, but the number of people who are listening to it 10 times in a row is really high,
so that's why we want to sign him.
And you're like, oh, shit, so like, y'all are robots.
Like, this has nothing to do with what you actually think is good.
He's like, I never heard neither one of your own music.
Yeah.
It's not what I'm concerned about.
That's so amazing that there are people in the music industry who are operating like that.
I really don't do music.
Wow.
And then there's people like me who have a lot of opinions and no analytics.
I have no idea what is going on.
Where is the no jumper blanket?
It is freezing there.
Well, we've got some rugs.
What the fuck.
Okay, so all that happens.
And then how long are you actually in the hospital?
I was back at the crib.
And the hospital I was at.
What's so crazy?
It's fucked up
because they got like a bad reputation
but they kind of decent
but I'm in that bitch
and I'm like
I gotta get the fuck out of here
I was in the hospital like
when I got shot like on the Sunday
I think I was at the hospital
like I FaceTime my man
I was like bro I'm about to get out this bitch
I'm fucked up
I'm about to get out this bitch
fuck that
I got out that bitch
I think like Thursday afternoon
Okay
wow
For real for real
How long before you could like record music again
or I mean
probably doing almost anything
but it took a long time up
Like for a couple months, like, because, like, I had so much wire and, like, everything was closed.
Like, I had to, like, really learn how to breathe different, all the type of shit.
Wow.
Like, everything was close.
So I'm in that bitch, like, learning how to do this shit.
I remember first I'm, like, drinking broccoli cheddar soup.
I keep getting all this broccoli and shit stuck in the wires.
All the type of crazy shit.
That shit was so frustrating.
How you drinking protein shakes and getting sick as fuck of those?
No.
Who really end up?
helping me was my son mama i'm like um i just got to go like she know what to do like she
really like school me on like just how to get better and shit like you know feel me wow so shout
out now she really like she helped me through that shit as far as like the real recovery like
like that's probably who helped me really put my body together this shit did you think about
doing a Kanye style through the wire style song what's so crazy i actually didn't want to
Like I didn't go out to
Like I'm like bro, that's cheesy
Everybody's telling me to do it
And shit woo-to-woo
One day though
I can't decide if I think it's a great idea
Or a bad idea
Look this was so crazy
Like I'm chilling
My nika Tanna just sent that bitch
And Tanna didn't send it like on no
Real soulful type of shit
He kind of just made that bitch
It was kind of like more of
It has some knock to it
Right I'm high
Like
I'm like damn
The wire's about to come
off and shit I just ended up doing that bitch actually so I did do one you did it and didn't put it out
no it's about to come out oh it's about to come out yeah I actually posted the clip today oh shit I miss
that you feel I'm that's crazy so by the time they see this it'll be out that's a good guess I thought I was
just totally fucking around no because I wouldn't go do it because I'm like but then I'm like you know
what fuck it j'all want me to do it so bad fuck it because I mean it's been like 20 years since
conya made that song I feel like we could do another one yeah like fuck it you go knock on out
Holy shit.
Damn.
All right.
So when you're laid up in the crib for a few months,
are you thinking, thank fucking God I'm alive.
I'm just happy to be alive?
Or are you thinking I'm going to get out of this situation
and I'm going to go so hard
and I'm going to make everybody understand that I'm the man, et cetera?
Like which one more describes you?
It was both.
It got to be both because you can't be around.
I know I'm blessed for sure.
Right.
Like, I know I'm blessed for sure.
So it's like, hell yeah, thank you.
But then it's like shit, well, I'm here.
Let's really do this shit.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, it wasn't like, I think when you're trying to like really go somewhere, like after some shit like that,
you can't take for granted.
Like, no, you're blessed for real.
Like, then you're supposed to be dead.
Like everything went wrong.
You didn't got shot in your head or took forever to get to the hospital.
lost all your blood, all the type of shit.
You feel like me.
I mean, there's been a couple times my life
where I got jumped.
And the way I fell afterwards,
you know, obviously it sucks getting to jump.
But the way I fell afterwards,
I was like, man, I can survive anything after that.
That's not getting shot.
Hey, that's a wild boy.
That nigger Adam said, hey,
I got jumped a couple times.
Like, they really put a whooping on you.
This is like bar shit.
This is like at the bar back of the day
where it's like I would never have been able to figure
out who the dude was.
We weren't thinking about like, oh, we're going to get them.
It was just like, fuck, we got a crazy fight at the bar.
But you're right.
I probably should have got back in blood.
Them first couple days, that's when the pain was, like, the real pain.
But after that, it's just like the everyday, some shit aching type of shit.
That still hurts, just random shit?
Not for real.
Like, it would be shit like when you eat, like, for some reason, like, when I'm about to
eat, like, the first bite, it always, like, seen, like, shark.
pains all around my head and joking around my mouth.
Does it in some way, must have been kind of a strange feeling, because obviously it's
like one of the worst things that ever happened to you, but at the same time, you know
that the fans want to hear about this shit.
Like some percentage of the fans are probably going to become fans because they know this
happened to you.
No, where I'm at with this shit is like, hey, this is a situation that happened along my journey,
so we're about to discuss it right quick.
Right.
But next year, I ain't about to be rapping about getting shot last year.
You feel me?
Right.
That just, I ain't no running around getting shot a nigga.
I'm a fly nigga.
I'm fucking with this paper.
So I ain't about to be talking about,
damn, I'm shot, I'm sad for another year.
Like, we about to talk about surreal shit.
We're about to address it.
We're going to move on from that shit.
Right.
You know, some horror shit came out that shit for show.
Yeah.
What's the good shit that came out of it?
Some horror shit is about to drop.
Really?
You know what?
Then I just, like, really just got more tapped in with myself as a person and shit.
You feel, I mean?
Just spend way more time with my kids.
weeded out a lot of whole niggas and shit you know right definitely fuck um so what are you planning on
doing you got an album coming or a project that kind of talks about this period of your life a bit
not just even about this like I said this shit was just some at the end day it's some major
shit but it's still just some shit that happened right like you know what I'm saying but does it
kind of make you feel like you can't just make a regular song talking about getting fly and having
a good time like does it feel like fuck like I got a lot of shit I've been through I'm
I got to be rapping about serious shit.
No,
you, bro, you just got to keep living life.
For real, for real.
Like, shit.
You see 50 got shot,
niggas still made in the club.
What, niggas don't just,
what, if you a whole nigga,
your whole life might change.
I don't fucking know.
Like, shit, you might get shot
and just be like, okay, I'm sad.
Let me just shit.
But his voice changed to shit, though,
because I was listening to him before he got shot back in the day,
and I remember thinking like, holy fuck,
like, this voice is totally different.
and mostly in a good way.
But your voice is pretty much the same?
Yeah, my shit, my shit good.
Yeah, you have a good rap voice in general.
I feel like that's one of the biggest things.
A lot of rappers just don't have the voice for it.
For real, for ya.
Yeah.
Yeah, it could be sounding crazy.
I don't know, it's hit or miss.
For sure.
I used to think I didn't have a good rap voice so shit.
Really?
It worked out.
Well, yeah, I mean, it goes through phases
what kind of voices people want to hear,
but you got that sort of like booming delivery
that I feel like it sounds very natural.
So what's the plan from here on?
Like, you got any big moves you're planning on making as a result?
Yeah, yeah, like, fuck, we go announcing on here,
organized crime, too, about to drop.
Okay.
That's, like, it was my biggest project.
They've been asking for part two for a couple years.
We're about to drop that.
And just really, just, really flood more and just, like,
just turning this shit up overall and just push my brand more just as far as, like,
expanding my shit, like, worldwide, for real.
Like, just really getting out and touching the people more.
Right.
Like, on top of, like, the internet shit be cool.
but I know a big part of my fan basis
because I reach out and touch people.
I be in other cities and states, like in their hood.
Like, you know, I'm bumping in the niggas for real and shit,
you know, so it's like, you know, reach out and touch the people,
just beat my hands on with this shit, still be careful, you know?
What shit?
Is part of it just the fact that, you know,
looking at where you were coming from Detroit
in the early days, I mean, there weren't that many people
you could really look at, I guess,
coming out of being street rappers from Detroit.
Now there's a lot of people popping off.
Does that kind of make you feel like, oh, fuck, like this is the time for the city?
Yeah, yeah.
Like, hell yeah.
Like, that's like because it's like seeing it from the beginning and then being a part of it,
then still being a part of it as it keep escalating.
It's like, no, you got to attack this shit.
Right.
Of course.
Definitely.
Yeah, man.
It's a crazy story right there.
Yeah, you know, shit happens.
And I feel like your music could be way bigger than it is right now.
I mean, you're doing solid numbers and everything, but I'm,
really, like, just seeing the reaction from my Twitch stream last night, I was like,
oh, fuck, this guy just picked up, like, 20 new fans immediately.
Yeah, I think it's coming.
Like, this is a big year.
Got a lot of dead weight.
Because, like, I said, like, the last couple years, like, label stepping in.
It's just like, I'm dropping one project a year because, you know, you would start doing
shit.
Like, you know how that shit is, them labels.
You were there getting to move in with them before the deal done.
So now you're all doing plans and shit, and then the fucking analytics guy pop up.
This is shit like that, so.
You still thinking about something?
with Major, though?
Yeah, I don't think you can just be running around doing this shit, like, without going
to the next level, but I ain't in a situation where I got to take, like, no, uh, no crackhead
deal and no shit like that.
Like, hey, niggas be taking pawn shop deals, like, uh, them what you can give me.
It's like, what y'all give me for it?
Seen that before.
Seeing a lot of people take deals that clearly indicate that they're not confident in their
own career.
They're not really planning on making any money.
So, yeah, give me that events.
Like yeah, like, no, come really change my life again
because I'm at a good space.
Like, I got good shit going on, so I don't need, like,
to damn their jack off everything to borrow some money
from one of their heads, you feel?
100%.
Anything you want to say to the people out there?
Anything you want to warn them about coming up, anything?
A nigga will pull up and shoot you in your head.
Be careful.
