No Jumper, coolest podcast on the world.
And today we got, you told me your name is Big Op.
Big Op.
No, it's Big Key.
FWC, Big Key in the building.
How you feeling?
Man, I'm good, man.
What's going on with you?
I'm excited to have you out here, bro.
As I learned more about you, I slowly started to feel like, damn, I feel lucky that we're getting this interview in
because this guy got a lot of problems, a lot of people.
Yeah, 100.
That ain't ain't that, bro.
Niggas be hating.
I don't got no beef with nobody, for real, man.
No, I feel like you're one of them dudes who came in the game, basically,
because you had so much big.
that you kind of just needed something that you just had to get it out somehow right see what the
thing is most of the niggas in Detroit the niggas I had problems with at first most of the niggas in
Detroit already fuck with them you feel me so okay they don't want to seem fake and fuck with me because
now I'm popping and all this so they got to really keep you know what I'm saying like niggas don't
want to want to seem like they switching sides on niggas that's how it really is oh so when you
started rap it was already a thing that you knew what a shitload of people were gonna have
no see it wasn't even that it's like this so say you rap and be you rap and be you
for me, right? You got your Detroit name
already, and you fucking with certain
artists in Detroit, and I
come along, but we beefing. The niggas that was
fucking with you, they ain't going to fuck with me
just because they already fuck with you.
You know what I'm saying? No, I see that all the time out here, too,
for sure. That's how it is, for real. Like,
niggas want to fuck with me. Niggas
say something in my DM, they won't never post
my shit making on. See, all the shit I do,
that shit be all me, bro.
Like, we don't got no support over here.
Interesting. Me or my niggas.
Right. The one thing about you there is I feel like
the music is really good and your rapping ability is really good and you have some star power.
So I feel like even the people who hate you are probably thinking, they gotta listen.
Yeah.
They gotta listen.
They can't help it.
Like shit, I don't like this nigga, but he's cold.
Right.
So I gotta listen to him.
But that's interesting because you were just telling me that you were in the studio last night with a bunch of like big name rappers who basically are part of that whole scene.
I was kind of surprised.
I'm like, okay.
Doug and ESTG, Doug, my nigga, though.
I'm from the sign of Doug.
That's my boy.
Really?
Yeah, hell, yeah.
So you'd be excited to sign him.
Yeah, I mean, yeah, that's my nigga.
He's popping right now.
One of the most young niggas in the world right now.
He's popping, for real.
Was that the kind of thing, though, where, based on just street shit,
you were supposed to not get along with him, or is that a different situation?
No, I see with Doug, like, Doug just got a prison for real, bro.
So, like, I ain't know Doug until, like, he started coming out,
I started listening to him.
Like, this nigga, how are you, you feel?
He on the east side.
I'm from the west.
So the east side, that shit, like, a whole different world over there.
Right.
So I don't really know too many of the East Side niggas like that.
But it's not a different world, as in y'all don't get along,
but whether you just don't really pay attention to show that much?
It just be like that.
Like, shit, they're doing a whole different,
they in a whole different lane over there.
Okay.
On me on some shit like that, that's what it'd be.
We ain't beef with them niggas, though.
Definitely.
And one ain't supposed to be no beef with them niggins.
Are you looking forward to a future in which that's not the number one thing
that people talk about when they talk about your music?
Hell, yeah, bro.
Like, that shit, that's all that come up every time.
Beef, beef, beef, beef, beef.
I'm tired of that shit, bro.
I ain't trying to talk about that.
I really can make music without this and niggas.
Feel me shit like that.
Right, definitely.
Hell yeah.
Okay, take us back to before the music and everything.
Where did you grow up exactly, and what was the environment like?
I grew up on the west side.
I'm from Linwood and Montgomery.
See, my pops.
Everybody from the west side know my pops, bro.
He just passed away from cancer and shit,
but he had a tires.
He had a tire shop on Quincy and Grand River.
Everybody, if you're from the west side,
4804, 4802.
125, 4, 8, 12, 6, all them, all them zip codes, you know who my pop's, you feel
me, everybody know who my pop.
All my cousins and my big brother, all them from Lentwood.
So I grew up around really older niggas.
Okay.
So that's kind of like a hub for you getting put on game early.
Yeah, you know, so I grew up around all the young niggas from my hood.
I don't even hang with them.
Feel me?
Like, I hang with E-Course niggas, instant niggas.
I don't, I don't really hang with the young, um, Lendwood niggas, except for my nigger,
right?
Shout out my nigga Ray, too.
Okay.
But so did you, when you look back at that, was there ever any moment where you, like, saw some real shit that you maybe weren't necessarily ready for as a real young man and kind of opened your eyes?
My brother's cousins, all of them. I seen all of them. I grew up quick, bro. For real, like, I've been seeing shit, you know, for real.
Definitely.
That's shit.
So were you attracted to getting in the streets at a young age? Were you thinking about music from the young age? Were you thinking about music from the young age?
Really? I was hoping, bro. I used to. I used to. I used to.
I ain't gonna lie right used to hoop me my coach had pulled some wood shit I was I was on
varsity for my ninth grade year on up my coach and I had got transferred because I
wanted to switch schools and shit to go hoop and shit so I had to sit out like 10
games or something and he tried to move me down I'm like man fuck this hoops show I
ain't doing this shit no more you got over it just because of that yeah like
that shit dead man damn really but was that like your whole life leading up to
that where people were really believing to you because for those who don't know he's
tall as fuck so no i see my pops wanted me to do it just on some on some boards that i really
started liking the shit i ain't i really played no sports until like the eighth grade and so
my pops wanted me to do that shot just did that shit just because it was something to do for real
right you're a bad kid or you hold it together pretty good i see i want to eat no bad bad little
nigga at all like i went to school all type of shit i want no bad little nigga but that's how
that shit just planned out like my big brother my big brother's a bad ass niggins know my big brother's
Really?
Yeah, he's about to get out, too.
He just did seven.
Did seven?
Yeah, you got to get out June 12th.
Wow.
3D, man.
So was he somebody that you were always looking at and he was already in the streets?
Yeah, I looked up to him for real, like, for real for us.
Niggas from my hood look up to him.
Right.
Feel me, so.
But were you, like, just imitating the shit that you've seen him doing, or was it kind of like,
oh, I don't necessarily want to get all up in that?
No, see, I ain't have to imitate it.
You feel?
It's just how, it's just how shit planned out.
It's like I start, you know.
I'm saying I started acting more like him you feel me like it wasn't even like I was
trying to just be everything he was it just happened like that for real definitely
like we hung with two different groups of niggas okay um people when they talk about
Detroit they always make it out like the economy's totally fucked and like the the tons of
homelessness and shit like that what was your experience in terms of growing up and
see my how I grew up I had both of my parents my mom I made work my my pops
took care of my mama us all that so
I ain't really grew up knowing how that shit was, for real, like that.
Like, I had everything I wanted.
I ain't going to lie.
Right.
So, but it's fucked up for sure.
Certain niggas, most niggas, for real, came from that, that poverty shit.
Like, I ain't come from that, though.
But I did, when my pops passed away, I think I was 17.
I really had to get out here on my own.
I ain't been living with my OG, my dudes.
I'd be taking care of my dudes all that since I was 17, bro.
23, 9.
Oh, shit, really?
So that was just on your shoulders?
Yeah, for real.
because you know we used to had talks and shit because he had stage for cancer i was actually locked up
when i found out i was uh locked up in grand rapids this is a city called grand rapids i was locked them down
there for a pistol case and um they had called me and told me like yo pops um yo pops got stage
for cancer i really start crashing out of that bitch punching the wall really fin to beat everybody
ass you feel me so they uh my they call it a social worker when you with jdf my social worker got with
my um with my little case worker and they let me out there be they let you're out because the
it was in my pop shit really they let me out early but he didn't pass then that was just when he found out
he passed like a year later like so when when i got out we really was hanging every day we was tight
that's my nigga for real for real wow really so i ain't know i ain't know what what all this
shit was at first like the stage fo shit that's the last stage that shit works i ain't know he was
from the checkout like that right but it just ended up happening that's interesting though
because I end up thinking about that with my pops too.
Like, am I gonna regret one day
that I didn't spend as much time as possible with you?
Bro, that shit, it helped you, bro.
Like, I ain't gonna say, well, I was really ready for it.
Like, I had it already in my mind.
Like, it still hurt me, but I had that shit in my mind,
like, man, I already know what I gotta do.
I gotta pick up right where he left for.
Definitely.
So it ain't really put too much pressure on me
because I already knew what the fuck was going on.
you know right what was your dad's ideal future for you like what was he trying to guide you
in see i started i started doing the rap shit like right when he passed so i already know if he was
here he putting everything behind me right like whatever i want to do he with it he ain't really he ain't
ready to type the strict type of pops he's gonna do whatever i want to do he gonna he gonna he gonna
support it 100% he ain't gonna know you bought the hoop do that no i ain't i ain't grow up like
that but like he was going to support me with this shit putting everything behind me with
the tire shop you're kind of making it sound like he was very you know knew what was going on in the
street or but did he he wasn't really like the kind of guy that new rappers and shit like that or like
what was his perspective on it like he he knew everybody in the hood bro like where we from and ain't
really know rap niggas for real so he don't really know about none of that shit he listen to
two pocket shit like that but he don't he just know like with this shit it take money so he was
gonna put all that shit behind me for show right get where I need to go and even
however many years ago, I mean,
it has always been like a slow trickle
of rappers from Detroit popping off.
And then the past year or two,
it's just been a fuckload of more rappers
getting names for themselves.
Back in the day, bro,
100,000 views, you was famous.
Like, famous in Detroit.
Like, for real famous.
Like, everybody, wherever you go,
everybody know who you is.
Nah, 100,000 views, I get there like two days.
Like, that shit ain't really nothing.
You ain't pushing no million.
You ain't really, you know what I'm saying?
That's how it is nowadays.
changed a lot, bro.
Right.
Like, the spotlight on the city right now.
Definitely.
Okay.
Who were you looking at that made you feel like, all right, this is a possibility for me?
See, like, I used to listen to niggins.
Like, you know, growing up, we had Team East Side and Doe Boys.
So Doe Boys start rapping first and then Team Eastside.
But at a point, they had differences.
So niggas used to pick size and shit.
Like, I used to listen to both of them.
I ain't a lot.
I used to fuck with both of them, though.
But then it was the most main two groups in the city.
Like, niggas like, oh, yeah.
I'm going to get on this shit they on.
Yeah, definitely.
So you kind of came in the game thinking of if you're a Detroit rapper and you want
to build your name for yourself, that some degree of conflict is going to help get you
to that level of attention?
So what you're saying, like, the beef going to help me get where I need to go?
I mean, I feel like you probably always knew that because you seem like you're using
it for sure to get your shit popping.
See, I was rapping before the beef shit.
I wasn't even going to start dissing nobody.
Okay.
A nigga made a diss song about this
Really saying some shit I ain't like
So I'm like man
I'm about to go at these niggas
This is the grandma situation
Yeah you know
But it was some shit before that
You feel me like some shit before that
That's what the YouTube comments said
The YouTube comments said
This is not just about the grandma
No hell no
But that's why
So when niggas say you ditched the dead too much
A nigga diss my grandma
My grandma died from cancer
Nigger diss my daddy died from cancer
It's on the flow for life
I'm gonna diss the fuck out y'all
Every time y'all get your
ass deep fried I'm dissing y'all.
Every time I don't give a fuck. Who did it for?
If we did it, somebody else did it, I'm going to
diss the fuck out y'all, because y'all diss my
pops, right? Feel me? So that's how
it's on the flow for life with me. How do you even
get a hold of your anger in a situation
like that? I feel, I'm
a grown-as mature man with a family
and shit. I would have a hard time being
able to chill out. In the city, it's so
hard to catch up with niggas, like, it ain't, but it is. So
you really be like, man, I ain't going to really never
see these niggas for real. Like,
unless, you know, we at the same place at the same time, for real,
and just happen like that.
But other than that, like, you can't really get mad and try to crash out
because there ain't know where for you to go crash all that.
Or I'm going to crash all that.
I don't know where these niggas at.
That's a crazy shit when a lot of the shit I've been learning about
and reading about in Florida and Chicago.
I'm like, bro, how the fuck are these dudes really crazy enough to, like,
get a disc song dropped about them, and then the next day they're pulling up.
That night they're pulling up and doing the craziest shit
and getting 20 years or a lot of them not even getting caught.
I'm like, how are you that fucking bold, bro?
That's crazy.
Yeah, that's shit.
That's just how it is, bro.
That's how the street is.
That's just how we came up, bro.
Like, it just happened like that.
I ain't won't, you know what I'm saying?
This shit ain't have to happen like that.
That's just how it is.
I can't stop my beef.
Right.
And I don't want to.
But at a certain point, do you, like, kind of realize,
oh, fuck, I'm getting a lot more views from talking about.
Yeah, that's it.
But that's definitely, but look, my most views,
song is when I be out I ain't
really dissing a nigga in there. All I said
my ops in the box of little seeds, that's
the most dissing I said in the song. That's my
most views song. Right. So
that just show, niggas like, yeah, that nigger really
can make a song. I can make a song. I ain't got
a dissing a nigga. Right. It's just on the flow.
Because there's a shill load of people
that can get a million views talking about beef
shit and I'll watch it and be like
all right, you know, it's cool or whatever. But you
can tell when they ain't really a rapper that's
ever going to go anywhere, right? Exactly. Exactly.
But that's why I feel like
with the beef shit, that's why I feel like
I don't really get a lot of
label offers because they
scared of that. But
when I look at other cities, these niggas
beefing and dissing each other, they're getting
record deals out they ass on.
I just don't get that shit. This rap shit weird, bro.
Yeah, but I mean, there's a lot of blackballing too.
Yeah, hell yeah.
Like when we're talking to the GDs from Chicago,
I mean, they would swear they've been blackballed
from everything. And some of them are pretty
popping, like they're getting a lot of views
and they seem like they have fan bases and shit,
But, you know, hey, if you've got the biggest rappers in the game saying do not fuck with them and not just I don't like them, but like, nah, he killed my brother.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, that's going to hold you back.
It's a lot of shit.
Yep.
That be hold niggas back because I'd be feeling like motherfucker put the word in.
Like, a nigger can't really say nothing bad about me in this street shit.
But only thing a nigga can say is what you're saying.
Like, shit, yeah, that niggas into a lot of shit, bro.
You can't really have them, niggas.
But I ain't really beefing.
We ain't beefing no out of time, niggas, you feel me?
I want my platform out of time.
Fucked you.
already got Detroit.
I want my platform out of town out here, you know, all over the world.
I don't just want to be in Detroit, bro.
I want to go, you know, expand this shit for real.
Definitely.
Hell yeah.
How does it feel when you see YouTubers making videos trying to basically tell your life story?
And I'm sure that there's details that you disagree with.
Man, I be watching that shit.
I'd be like, man, but I can't really say nothing.
Y'all going to think what y'all want to think.
I ain't trying to clear no rumors up or what y'all think how you all feel.
Go ahead.
Is that snitching?
Hell yeah, that snitching.
I don't go fuck how you look at it, that snitching.
Like I've seen some shit.
The nigger who making a video
talking about I ain't trying to incriminate them.
That's the fuck you with you.
That's exactly what the fuck you're doing.
That's what you doing.
Because it's all shit that the cops
could probably definitely put together.
For sure.
But why would a cop necessarily
be going that far out of his way
to figure the shit out?
These YouTubers, they're real fans.
They really ain't got nothing else to do,
but to try to put this shit together
to get 100,000 views or whatever.
Think about it,
bro, with cases, bro.
That's why with the music shit,
that shit don't really be,
like they can use some shit,
but when you're trying to get a conviction on a nigga,
you really need witnesses and niggas telling on you.
Niggas ain't doing that.
Like, niggas ain't doing that, bro.
Like, in the city, niggas ain't doing that.
I ain't gonna lie.
And I'm a vouch for all that.
Like, niggas ain't really telling all niggas.
That shit ain't what's up.
Right.
So that's how that shit goes.
Right.
So you've been locked up,
Just once for the pistol case?
Or with that other shit?
No, hell no.
I just got out, what, two years ago?
Oh, okay.
I had a little fraud cake.
Bro, I've been in and then out of jail for fraud.
Listen, at first, the fraud shit going so good for me.
All that shit started backfiring.
I start going to jail like a motherfucker.
I sure they got $10,000 bonds.
All the type of shit, bro.
I didn't realize that for a while, but then I started to hear the punching bars,
and I'm like, oh, okay.
I was on that too.
I used to do that shit so much.
I stopped doing that shit.
I'm like, man, because I started getting bad.
Look, when I got out my last time,
I did seven months.
I got out the last time man I tried to go do that shit again I got caught
instantly I'm not doing this shit I'm about to rap bro instantly hell yeah I swear
to God like I ain't even make it out this stove I was thinking that though when I
was watching you started to have some punching bars where I'm like man if I'm
working at the Louis Vuitton store like 45 minutes outside of Detroit this dude
walks in I don't know if I'm just like hand hand over $10,000 worth of
merchandise that be the thing you would think that about me I really know
how to talk to motherfuckers, bro.
It's all game, huh?
And then you got to go with your scrubs on.
You got to look like you really on something.
You can't go in there being dumb as hell.
Then, you know what I'm saying?
That's how I'd be, bro.
But you would think that, though, just looking at me like,
man, hell no, I ain't giving this nigga.
You know, I just always try to put myself in the mind of the cashier.
And when I hear, like, so many people rapping about scamming,
and I'm like, are they just stupid as fuck?
Or are they?
I swear, you would be surprised they'd be dumb.
is fuck.
Who put you on that?
Because nowadays it feels like kids get put on
scamming before they get put on
like selling drugs or anything, right?
I ain't a lot. Shout out my nigga Lonnie, man.
My nigga Lonnie really do this shit for real.
He's like the number one person that I know that I thought
you had issues with because you supposed to have all this beef right.
Oh, never mind.
All right.
Cash gang, Lonnie.
You feel me?
My nigga Lonnie, he was doing that shit.
So this around the time my, um,
my, um, pops had passed away and shit.
He's doing this shit.
I'm like, he like, man, come with me, bro.
took me on the road with him
you got to doing some shit that shit got the
I'm seeing the most money I ever seen
in my life there it go
right I mean it was going good for about
a year or two me and my nigga head
used to fuck the road up me and my nigga bang free
and we used to do that shit
then it just started backfiring on me
right feel we like you just got
unlucky a couple times hell yeah like
that shit started coming back up
like at the same time so
say I go to jail they'd be like you got a warrant right here
in Missouri
Then I get I paid a bond from Missouri you got a you got a um another fraud case in
Kentucky they extra die me every time every time so I'm waiting another 30 days to come
they coming on the last day you know on the extradition shit they get 30 days to come
pick you up they wait the whole 30 days every time for me I'll never get lucky with that
quirt shit bro and is is it like shit where they have you on video camera and shit and
they end up coming back with it later and then my face would be on a fake D or something
and they I guess they facial recognition I or
that shit just come back to me every time so that should be crazy but that shit be like with the with
fraud that's why i like the fraud though because with the fraud that should be white collars so
they don't really be won't but they money back really feel me then they'll drop your shit to a misdemeanor
yeah i'm always hearing about people getting crazy cases for it yeah because they get in their ass cook
for doing ppp and and that unemployment shit and shit like that like white collar like punching it and
slide and that shit don't really hold nothing that shit don't hold no weight for real really
sort of got. I was just watching Vlad
interview this dude Gorilla Black from the West
Coast who ended up doing like seven, eight
years for it, and it was tripping me out
because when I first got out of high school, the same thing
as you. I had somebody who put me on the games, like
2003, and we were running around
making a lot of money for a while, and then I
luckily just got out of it, saw a couple
of my friends get caught, but
even their cases were like nothing. It was like
restitution in public service.
They had to work at a fucking
home for homeless people or some shit.
That's all to be for real. Yeah, but I thought
that they just made it a shillowled more strict and everything.
Yeah, man.
Now they did.
They're trying to make example a lot of niggas right now.
Right.
Because all this shit going on.
But really, in all actuality, that shit ain't shit.
How'd you enjoy prison?
Man, that shit ain't what's up, bro.
I don't wish that shit on my worst enemy, my nigga.
Right.
I don't want nobody in jail.
Nobody in jail.
What was the worst part of the food?
Hell yeah, you know, I'm a big-ass dick.
They feed you, your last meal and that bitch like at 5.30.
And you're eating, like, as much food.
as the 120-pound guys eating too.
Yeah, but I don't eat that shit.
So that's why your commissary, you gotta be,
if you got motherfuckers loan, you up,
I got my own money.
So I ain't really asked my niggas for shit,
but I be loaded.
Like, and then I order stole on another nigga shit
because it's a limit.
And I'm eating that for breakfast, lunch, dinner,
nighttime, all that.
Like, I don't eat that jail shit.
That jail food ain't.
What are you doing to keep your mind stable?
Gambling.
Really?
Yeah, I'd be, um,
playing spades I'm a dog oh really yeah be playing spades all day where I write a song
then you got an hour to go to the gym wreck all that so that should be moving it moved like
once you get your dinner trays like once they call dinner I'll be like the day over
day over it's another day for the come I've been trying to learn how to play spades I was
actually hanging out backstage at a video shooting T-I's kids were trying to teach me how to play spades
spades crazy because I know Joe Budden plays and that's part of my long-term goal is I want to get better
than him.
Fuck him up.
And then basically,
he's just not even
going to know how to handle that.
Yeah, yeah.
That space shit.
It ain't,
it ain't really hard,
though.
You just got to,
you know how to read your partner.
Mm,
for real.
That's all they'd be,
like.
Definitely.
When you get that,
that shit be easy for me.
Working out in jail,
though,
is the big you want to work out
on the outside, too?
No, see.
I'd be like,
fuck that shit.
I don't want to do nothing.
When you got nothing to do it
probably seems like a great idea,
right?
You hit them streets.
I don't think about working out.
Fuck that shit.
Definitely.
Nothing.
Shit be dead.
How do you, okay, but so being in that environment, though,
did that make you decide, like, fuck it, I'm going to really go hard with those rap shit?
Yeah, see, that's when I started taking this shit serious, because I had songs,
bro, like, my shit was going crazy, bro.
Like, I ain't going to lie.
I had a million of you songs before I even went to jail, but I just never took it serious.
I dropped when I want to.
That's how I was looking at.
I ain't a rapping-ass, nigga.
Right.
I'm going to drop when I want to.
Y'all listen to this shit or y'all don't.
Then bro and them like, shit, bro, I ain't gonna lie.
You're going crazy.
Like, you might as well take this shit serious.
So when I got out the last time, I'm about to take this shit serious.
Look where I'm at.
Right.
So that's how to be.
That's all you got to do is just put that work in.
Definitely.
You don't go any way.
I remember when I was interviewing Rio that he was talking about how when he first met Peezy,
Peasy was the one who really showed him like, this is what my fucking spot
of, this is my tune court check looks like.
This is how much I'm getting for shows.
It's how much I'm getting them.
Fetka.
Taking them around, just showing him the game.
And that really struck me.
I was like, it would have took Rio years and years to figure this shit out.
If he didn't have somebody who was already doing his thing, putting him on.
Did you have anybody who was really, like, showing you what this,
because it's kind of easy to understand the drug hustle or the scamming hustle,
but the music hustle is, it takes a lot more knowledge, right?
Man, girl, when I tell you, we ain't got no support in that shit.
No support.
No, a nigger, it ain't a soul.
that ain't going to vouch for that.
Right.
We ain't got no support in this shit.
Like that nigga ain't showed me nothing.
Nothing at all.
Like, everything I'm doing is me.
I don't got no manager.
Yeah.
Feel me?
So what they tell you?
Like, I'm doing, these niggas posting,
these niggas, you see right here,
they posting my shit on.
You feel me?
And that's how my shit getting views.
I don't pay say cheese.
I don't pay none of them,
bro.
Like, I really, when I drop,
I just drop on my page,
and I post it one time.
I don't post it days straight or none of that.
And my shit go up.
Like, imagine if I was paying for promotion and shit like that,
I'd probably be somewhere bigger than that on a bigger platform.
Yeah.
I mean, it feels like your shit is definitely going to get to that level, right?
You see the game plan of, like, how you're trying to get to the level that you want to be up?
At the end of the day, bro, I really can rap.
All my niggas really can rap.
Like, I got, you know, my niggie leak.
My nigger leaked right up under me.
Well, ain't no nigger under me, but, like, on the view side, he right up under me, my nigger head.
Like, it's just like, man, we be, man, that shit be just, no, like, we just do that shit for real.
No support, all that.
Like, we just be dropping, just doing, just having fun with this shit.
Right.
And that shit just take us where we, I'm saying?
That's dope.
Yeah, like, what was your friendship with Rio like?
Because that song y'all got together in, like, 2019 is actually one of my favorite songs of years.
Rio really, that's my nigga for real.
Like, I was one of the first niggas really fucking with Rio.
Because I could tell they really fucks to you because he's actually saying,
positive things about you in the verse and this motherfucker did so many good name features i'm sure you
don't do that for everybody yeah so rio is my nigga i really um like i was the first one of the first
niggas listening to rio i was down in flint and shit then um this little bitch had turned me on to him
this back in that day then i got the planning for my niggas and shit some niggas like man hell no i'm
like bro this nigga horror like what you're hearing you see all that shit that you i seen y'all
interview and shit you like all this shit that the make-believe shit you be thinking like he say some
crazy ass shit that shit was just sweet to me back then like I'm like yeah I
fuck with dog right so I end up we had end up doing two songs for real he
it's another song we got on my take we didn't shoot the video to it but the
one shit we did that bitch went crazy right no so definitely but you have like
such a different like I feel like him like he kind of represents a certain
style that blew up out of Detroit which is a lot of real like punchline type rap shit
talking I feel like yours is a little different though like you kind of came
with a different style yeah I shit talked
But then I talk, I don't do all that, like, say some crazy-ass shit.
I say, oh, everything I be saying is, like, my life.
Right.
For him, you know, like.
So you don't, like, take it to the extreme.
Like, Riovo, like, hit you with a bar that is, like, the most fucked-up thing you ever heard in your life.
And you kind of know he's kidding.
Yeah, he's saying, like, yeah, like, he'd be speaking his mind, shit that other niggas won't say.
But your brain doesn't go there when you're in the studio?
No, my brain don't go there.
Right.
Don't go there.
That's not a lot.
I don't go there.
Um, for sure.
Um, something, I see some decisions in your videos, though, that I was kind of surprised by, like,
I haven't seen a lot of rap videos where somebody was like firing a gun out the window at
the op block at the neighbor's street signs.
That did strike me.
I was like, oh, I seen a lot of rap videos.
I don't know if I really seen that move.
Yeah.
That's, that be my niggas for real.
The niggas do what the fuck they want to do.
You can't control them?
That wasn't your idea?
Yeah.
I don't go, fuck.
Do what y'all want to do it.
this bitch gonna go up that that probably made the video go up.
You feel?
I don't give a fuck.
Fuck that shit.
There's definitely some fans who that's what they're there for is to see some crazy
ass shit like that.
Just see crazy ass shit.
Oh God.
But then niggas really be realizing like, yeah, this nigga can really rap.
So you got to fuck with me, even if you don't fuck with me.
Has that been kind of a weird thing realizing that now you have like 16 year old white kid
fans who like are kind of here for the bloodshed?
Where we just had at that little, um, at that little shit in Easter?
We used at some shit in Easter
Oh yeah, downtown too
But we're downtown
Bro, I ain't gonna lie
That's when I knew I'm like
Oh yeah, this shit real
Like I get out the car
Oh my God, that's Kia
Really?
But we is at this little parking
Easter from my man's daughter
Birthday party
Some little white girls coming up to me
They're running like
What's up, Ki?
I'm like what's going on
So they get to taking pictures and shit
They like they're talking about
We can't listen to you because we white
I'm like, you all you're listening to
What the fuck y'all want to listen to
I wonder if their parents told them that.
Yeah, something.
I don't know, but it was like five over five girls for the guy.
Damn.
I'm just going to throw some lyrics that I heard in your shit,
and this was one where you had the beat cut out
and you had everybody screaming it.
If you're from out of town, then you're getting jacked.
Is this something that happens to Detroit a lot?
Yeah, it happened everywhere.
I know it would be like, okay, say I'm down here
and I want to buy some shit from a nigga.
bro the first thing that's coming to a nigger mine is this nigga ain't from out here we finna get down
fuck as you it's free why not you are out of time nigger unless i really fuck with you like other than
that don't try to hit me up on no shit like you got to know somebody right yeah for real yeah you
there has to be somebody in the mix that is going to ensure that you're not going to rob me if i was
like a fan who wanted to sell you right hey i got a pint right if there's not somebody who's going to say
Adam's cool as fuck, don't fuck with him,
then why am I hitting you up to sell you a pint?
Exactly.
Also, I don't have a pint.
That's what I be trying to say.
Right.
That's what I be trying to say.
Like, a nigga, if I'm,
if I'm fined by a pint from a nigga down here
and I already know the nigga,
I know it on all intentions in his head that he, like,
he's thinking that.
He's supposed to rip you off unless there's a level of status
or a relationship, right?
Yeah, but on that note,
a nigga ain't going to really play with me,
but, you know what I'm saying?
But yeah, that's what niggas be.
Especially because with the lean example,
Lean is the number one thing that if you really know about it,
then it's hard to rip somebody off.
But if you don't know anything about it,
it's almost a foolproof plan to rip off, right?
Put water in the niggie shit.
You do whatever you want to a nigga,
if he already know what the fuck going on.
I thought I got K-road one time,
and I said, that's the dub, the video of me.
He's like, send me the video,
you're pouring a little out into the cap, so I did.
And he immediately told me that it was par not walk.
Just from watching me pour it out.
And I'm like, that's the kind of friend I need in my life.
I appreciate that.
For sure, you got to know what the fuck going on.
Yeah, definitely.
All right, this is another bar.
I won't fuck my man's sister, but I'll get the head out of her.
Is this the policy?
Because I'm going to be honest with you.
I don't really want to fuck any of my friend's sisters.
I feel like it would just get too messy.
See, I ain't going to lie.
That's one of those bars.
I just said something.
Oh, okay.
You know, I ain't going to do that.
Your friends are all on the couch, like,
you know, my fuck off.
You know, that diggis funny is.
Yeah, I ain't fun to do
No shit like that
That shit ain't acceptable, bro
I got you
I don't want a nigga fucking my sister
One of my men's, I know what these niggas do
Right
You know what I'm saying?
We eat with holes every day
Yeah
You ain't gonna fuck my sister, nigga
You ain't got a girlfriend?
Yeah, I do
All right now, yeah
Currently I do
How does you feel about everything
Coming up for you?
I mean, when you're in the shit like this
No girl would be knowing
What the fuck going on
I ain't saying far as fucking holes
and shit like that, but if I don't come home
with something, late at the hell, I'm doing
something, you know what I'm saying? She ain't fin of really
trip about that, you feel me? But
they know what's going on.
You're out all day in the streets that she got worried about
you? Yeah, hell yeah. Takes me all day.
Come home, this, dad, all that.
For sure. That's got to be a stressful position, being
Big Key's girlfriend. It is, but it ain't because, look,
I'm the type of nigga. I ain't fin to go outside
for real, unless it's really something
on the flow. Right. I ain't,
because I know in the city, I
one of them super tough-ass niggas that
I'm outside every day. What's up?
Nobody is. So don't let the nigger
fool you and think that he
outside every day. Niggas don't be outside
every day. Niggas won't even be here.
If you're standing outside of the liquor store or whatever,
I don't know. You need more stuff to do.
You get a call put in on you so quick.
You might as well not even
once you sit somewhere, it's over.
So you might as well, you keep moving.
If you got to go to this liquor stuff
for something, get what the fuck you need to do
and get the fuck on.
And now you're at the point of your life.
life where you could actually make real money hit real plays like actually make shit happen at some
point you got to start really valuing your time and in your life security yeah yeah for sure for sure
um i saw this video you smacking around a fiend who was begging for a capsule with a grandma
weed in it no see that's what we got to clear up what was going on in that video at first when he was
saying a capsule i'm like bro you don't want to put yourself out here serving fiends like that and then
he specified that it was a grandma weed in the capsule
Look, I had just crashed my whip right.
Okay.
My nigga is on shit.
He'd be fucking with the nigga
because he'd be driving him anywhere you want to.
Oh, one of them.
Feele me on some shit like that.
One of them is like, shit, I come get you in.
You tell him to go get Key, like,
Big Key?
I'm gonna go get him.
So he come pick me up.
That nigga's so how his end's right.
That nigga hitting cones and shit on my side.
I'm in a passenger front of this thing.
He hit coals, uh, type of shit.
I'm like, bro, tip you all.
So he's so high. He don't know what the fuck going on. He's going to liquor store and still a whole bottle of the nigga.
The nigga at the liquor store come out from the car of police. I'm all year's over. I took everything from him. Like, bro, you're tripping. So he really knows of shit. Like, let me get my shit. I'm like, no, bro. Like, you're tripping.
Right.
I don't be doing no shit like that. That little nigga, I ain't going to take nothing from him.
Especially not no gram or weed, a capsule of weed. It wasn't known no shit like that. That's what, niggas. It blew up on some shit. Like, you take.
No, hell not, bro.
That makes it make more sense.
Because I was wondering, like, I'm like, is this really?
Like a dude, he's just hanging out with selling Graham's wheat.
He was playing with my life and my freedom.
I'm into, I'm into too much shit for you to be, you know what I'm saying?
Be playing like that hint cones, police pull us over, all type of shit.
Bro, hell no, I'm taking that shit from me.
The police did pull you over or you were just worried about it, right?
That's what, that's what be on the nigger mine.
You were in here stealing a whole, a whole fifth of patrol.
Right.
Walking out the stought of the nigger coming out to stoke in your license place.
There's a certain degree of goofy behavior
where you just kind of got to take them
their possessions away from them.
Hell yeah, like y'all need this shit right now.
I get you this shit aboard.
You can be all right, for sure.
All right, this is another bar that I thought this is hilarious.
I had to fucking rewind this shit as soon as you said it.
I ain't have to give that bitch shit.
Watch how I play it.
You had to give that bitch three perks.
You were rapist.
I thought that was the funniest shit I ever heard, though.
I don't smoke.
I don't pop purse
So you don't do that at all, okay
At all, like I'm
I used to smoke
I get so paranoid
I'd be riding a car
One of my day one niggas
I'd be thinking
You gotta take me somewhere
And put me on the flow
Really?
Sure to God
So I stopped doing that shit
You feel me
But with that bar
I'm basically saying like
When I pick up a bitch
A bitch not even
Expecting me to get her nothing
This ain't this ain't what's going on
You gotta get that bitch
Street purse the fuck her
Right
She don't know what the fuck her
going on anyway you raped that bitch boy there's definitely been times when I used to have the
store where someone like up-and-coming aspiring rapper type dudes will come through and they'd
have girls with them and the girls would be fucking zan the fuck out and i just be thinking like bro i hope
you ain't putting your dick in her while she's like this because this is not safe believe he is yeah
for sure that was a good warning the kids out there like there's a certain point where you just got
fall back and be like she's not in the right state of mind okay you said i've been
Ben hit every state with all fire ass boat.
Ben hit every state with all fire punches.
I hit every state.
I'm doing this shit in every state.
But who's boat, Yadi?
No, it's my n'nick.
Oh, okay.
You got a different boat?
No, my nigger, he and Jill, and she got 10 years and shit for a body.
But I was talking about my n'nick a boat.
Because my n'nick, boat used to be out here on that, on that same tip.
Right.
We should have had you on the Yadi album, though.
You think that could ever happen?
Yeah, I mean, I fuck with Yadi.
I ain't gonna lie.
I don't dislike yaddy
He just ain't hit me up to get on this shit
I ain't chirping on that shit
You think that if he did hit you up
That all the people who have you blacklisted
Hit him up and be like yo don't talk to him
See the niggas he had on there
I ain't really got no problems with
Okay look bro
How it is bro I ain't beefing
We ain't beefing with everybody in the city
It's just like this
A nigga no look
A nigga be so
It'd be like this okay
So say I fuck with you
You fuck with me but you fuck on my ops
You been fuck on my ops first
you don't never post my music and nothing
but you'll DM me and be like this shit fire
but you're doing that shit behind those
so he won't even know that you fucking with me for real
so you can still post and be with him
I don't really be caring about that shit
like I know how this shit is
if we both rapping
we're gonna run across the same niggas
but don't be on no shit like
telling him one thing about me
more than my opposite thing about me
telling me something about him
and you still fucking with both of us
that's what it be like
in the city.
We ain't beefing with a lot of niggas, for real.
It's just how I be.
Like, and then some niggas say we're getting to it with a nigger,
he'll instantly want to go click up with our ops because he know, you got what I'm saying?
That's why I saw some comments saying that is like, damn, like, Big Keep you going hard
because they got all these different crews banded together.
And they all together.
Right.
Like, they like these niggas all together.
They don't even know each other.
They all in each other video shoots.
Right.
Y'all niggas do not know each other.
You don't know what the fuck that nigga into.
You all just want a dick suck
And that's how it is in my city, bro
I ain't gonna lie
That's the biggest problem right now
Be yourself
The crazy shit though is that
The greatest revenge that you could ever get
On people that you don't get along with
Is not to put out a bunch of diss songs
Talking about dead ops
Or to, you know, have people that you know
Go do shit to certain people
Where the best revenge you could get
Is just to become extremely popular
To the point where it would seem crazy
For you to even acknowledge people?
No, I'm not.
I'm not gonna lie, bro.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm gonna fuck.
If I'm, if I'm Drake, on Drake level, y'all niggas better stop dying.
I'm gonna dis, this the fuck out of y'all.
Like, I don't go fuck who level on my own.
Y'all diss my popes, y'all, this my grandma.
This shit is on the flow for life, bro.
Right.
I ain't gonna lie.
I'm gonna say something in there.
I ain't gonna be probably no dissing something, but something gonna be in there.
Yeah, just so they know.
Just so they know.
Yeah, that shit trips me out when I see Dirk still going super hard on Doug, even
even after he died and shit.
You got to think about, you got to think about their positions in this shit.
They grew up with this shit.
Like, niggas really don't be knowing what's going on behind closed doors with that shit.
That's why I don't be mad.
When I hear Dirk is still doing that, he's on the platform he is.
Because, shit, these niggas probably, they dissing his cousin.
I know, nigga, you know what I'm saying, shit like that.
So, you can't get mad at that type of shit, bro.
Yeah, part of me when I see that is like, bro, you're so successful.
You just need to stop doing that shit.
But then at the same time, it's like, I don't think he's.
He's a lunatic.
Yeah.
I think he's really, like, behaving in a way that he feels as appropriate, given whatever
disrespect he feels like he's had to do it.
Exactly.
That's what that be about.
Like, it ain't about, ain't about what platform you want for real, bro.
If a nigga dissing you, bro, you got to dissing back.
At a little, like, yeah, I know what's going on.
You feel me, at least some shit like that.
You ain't got to really just diss a nigga for real like that, but that's how I'd be.
That's what type of time I'd be on, for real.
Okay, but hypothetical question.
If you're Michael B. Jordan and you're dating Lori Harvey,
and then Future puts out the song and says,
tell Steve Harvey I don't want her.
How are you playing it?
Do you have to respond?
I know you would respond because you're just responding to whoever, but.
Michael B. Jordan, ain't he really an actor for us.
So, I mean, you've got to let Future do what he do at that point of time.
You don't really, probably don't want that problem with no future for real.
So just let him say what he say.
That's your bitch not.
do what you want to do with her.
But that's a pattern is that future will always have a bitch
and then once she's done dealing with him
she goes to like a fucking saint.
Right.
A Christian man.
Like the Russell dude is not going to say nothing about future.
I don't really think Michael B. Jordan's going to say anything.
Yeah, I don't think you're going to say nothing about it.
Yeah.
About the whole situation.
You're just making a song at the end of the day.
Girls see what it's like to be with the fucking most
trapped out famous rapper dude.
And they're like, ah, fuck all this.
Yeah, fuck all that.
I need me a god-fearing man.
Exactly.
Yeah, for sure.
For the show.
All right.
So from your perspective, what are you trying to do over the next year or a few months or whatever?
See, I was supposed to put out of the looks.
I just dropped the tape.
So I was supposed to put out of the looks, but that shit with the feds and shit, they had ran on my shit.
They did?
Yeah, I'm on ankle monitor right now.
I got a fed case going.
But they ran up in your shit over what?
I don't know, bro.
They took my phone.
First, they took my phone and about 20 racks from me.
and then about two months later they come running in my crib
wow so you're still just kind of waiting to figure out how's all going to happen
yeah because they saying the crib I was in ain't my name and then they they're trying to charge me
because my chain was next to the gun so they basically said I took the chain off and put it next to the gun
how was that going to hold up in court though I don't know we're going to see I ain't going to
really talk about it right we're going to see bro
Okay. So you had to hold back. What, they took a hard drive that had all the music on it?
No, see, it kind of fucked up my timing. So I'm like, man, I ain't fin to put this. It's probably going to be too late.
You feel me? And then I don't got no hard drive. I told you I do this shit by myself. So it was in my phone.
All that shit's in my phone. Like, not recorded. Like, I ain't even going to record this shit yet. So I'm forgetting what I'm saying on the beat or what beats I was using because they got my phone. I can't really get this shit.
back if it was recorded, I just had my engineer send me the songs.
I did.
So you usually write your shit in advance?
Yeah, write it.
And then like say I'll write, I probably write like five, six songs.
Then I get a six hour block and go do them.
Okay.
You feel me?
Do you end up having to sort of modify them to fit the beats,
or is that not usually having?
When I'm listening, because I ain't the type of nigg,
I can't, like my nigga is, he'll write a whole song, bro.
I write a whole song with no beat and find a way
to just put it on the beat.
Right.
I'd be feeling like how my words hit a beat,
that's the term in the song.
So I gotta hear the beat first,
then write to the beat, then go do the song.
Unless I'm just freestyle and they shit on some funny shit.
Because some songs are gonna have like X amount
of syllables per bar, and some songs are gonna have more
depending on how it's stretched out and shit.
With bro, he'd make it work every time.
Every time.
I don't know how he'd do, he'd make it work every time, bro.
For sure.
Who's your favorite rapper all time?
Me.
Okay.
Besides you?
Probably, I don't know.
Who you were listening to as a kid who, like, you really look at it as, like,
that was the man when I was coming up.
Oh, no.
You probably have beef with him now.
Eh, who the fuck?
I don't know, bro.
Probably.
I don't know.
I can't even tell you.
I don't know.
It's him.
Because I be listening to a lot of Detroit, and I already be liking a lot of niggas.
Like, out of time.
I don't be liking the way they rap.
Okay.
I don't know why, but a lot of that shit,
I don't be liking the way that shit be.
I grew up listening to Blade Icewood,
so I'd say probably Blade.
You know Blade is.
I don't think so.
He like the most, like, influential nigger,
like he passed away and shit,
but he had the most influence on Detroit rap, bro.
Like, if you're from Detroit, you know who he is.
If a nigga tell you don't know who Blade is,
he ain't from the city.
Oh, shit, I gotta get familiar.
Yeah.
You're listening to saying Client Pousy?
Hell no.
No.
What was that?
They're from Detroit.
What's they go up?
The insane clown posse?
Nah, hell no.
Hell no.
Must be two sides.
Hell no.
You could be with them too, maybe.
See, Eminem from Detroit.
I don't listen to Eminem.
Yeah, but you're a different generation, I feel like, you know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I respect it.
All right, big key, man.
I'm a big fan of the music.
I'm looking forward to what you got coming out and shit.
Hopefully you get a goddamn phone back.
Or might just need to make some new songs.
No, I'm going to make some more.
I'm going to drop some more.
I ain't even going to drop the deluxe no more.
I'm about to come hard, though.
Yeah.
You made some songs last night?
Last night?
