For sure. So, okay, tell me a little bit about the, early days of Trayway 6K. I want to know where you're coming from.

I'll come from South Central L.A. Let me take this motherfucker. Nick come from South Central L.A. A nigga moved to Rieto for like a year probably. Nika went to jail for like three years. What age? 15. 15.

You got locked up for three years? Yeah, to 18. What did you get locked up for? Like, none of robberies, all type of shit. All kinds of shit going on. Yeah. What was your childhood like, though? You were just running around doing crazy stuff?

shit from a young age? Hell no, I ain't gonna like to, look. I was like, AP student, you know, advanced placement, gate classes, shit like that. Uh-huh. Over in middle school, elementary. Then high school, a nigga, uh, mm-hmm. Things just happened? Yeah, around eighth, ninth grade.

Was there anything in particular? I been always bad, like, a hoover, a nigga. Always been a bad nigga, but I always did my school shit, like, you know? Right. But then at a certain point, you just couldn't really get into the school shit anymore? Yeah, because I went to jail, so it's like you got to go to jail and school. school so right I mean go to yeah school in jail so what was being locked up like shit I don't know low ball regular because nigga was in there for three years

so I don't know whatever they got fades you know you know come being a opening yeah it was juvenile halls though so right I'm gonna ask tray we have a ashtray we could maybe get um but oh yeah we got one right here is cool but uh okay Okay, so you knew you were a hoover since what age? So you're saying that when you first got locked up, you already, this was already a thing? Yeah. First, I got put on, I was like 14.

I got put on two times. So I got put on out of like 14 and a half, probably 14 and 15. Why are you put on two times? Because my brother came to the set. This is my blood brother right here, but I got another big brother. He came to the set tripping or whatever. Then I actually got put off.

But then my brother went to jail, so a nigga end up getting put back on. How did you get put off? Dude, you gotta fight over. How you get put on? Well, niggas don't get put off. Like, I didn't do nothing wrong. So, you know, and I'm a little ass boy.

I was like 14, 13, probably. I'm over. So they, you know, I'm over. Bug me off real quick. I fought a couple of niggas. Got put off how I got put on. So you wanted to get put on and then you wanted to get put off? No, I didn't want to get put off.

Oh, okay. I was a little kid. Damn. That's crazy. Yeah. What was your understanding of what it was to be in a gang, though, when you were 14, like when you were getting put on, what was that like? Or what did you think it was going to be like?

I ain't going to lie. A nigga had no understanding of it because I grew up, like, here and nowhere else. Like, so I ain't know my option shit. I only knew the homies. I grew up just knowing the homies. That's it. You didn't even know who you were going to be then having problems with when you joined? No, until a nigga really hit high school and, like, my first year of high school.

And then these niggas, like, oh, hoover, we don't get along with these niggas. I'm like, I'm hova, niggas from the beat the fuck out of you knicks. What they talk about? Damn, hobies. I got to put it all two times. I'm been ready, bro. Why'd you want to be a part of it in the first place, though? You were just looking for protection?

You were looking for, you just wanted to be part of some lit shit? Nah, nigger, I grew up in it. Like, I grew up around there. That's where I always grew up there type of shit. Right. Uh-huh. Definitely. So you get locked up and it's like, is that basically the most controversial set that you could be a part of when you get locked up in County Joe?

Hell no you're gonna be from Hoover neighbor blackstone something like that in my counties yeah but don't do the whoos have the most beef with the most different people yeah we got the most yeah my bad right so immediately you get in there and you just start having to go to war defend yourself hell in the county it'd be mostly Mexican so so hoover you ain't you ain't never knowing the hoover who you're going to land with but he most likely okay so you were having to fight random as Mexican dudes and seven more so than you don't fight the Mexicans okay They don't give a fuck about you. Who the Mexicans?

The Mexicans is just, it's like another world. We beat for the couple of Mexicans, Mexican hoods, but nah. In the county, no. Right. Damn. So, but that's how it goes though. In the county, you gotta fight other black dudes, but then when you make it to prison, then all the black dudes are on the same side. I guess I ain't ever hit the pen.

You're not interested? Yeah, don't. Trying to avoid that? I'm trying to avoid it, man. How much do you hate being locked up at that age, though, or were you having fun? At some point, like when you fresh into it, I don't hope it was fun. You know you're getting that two-week dispo or something like that.

You're having fun. But Dan Hummers, you up in there for years and years. Like the second year, I'm like, oh, yeah, this shit is not it. Right. This is boring. I'm tired. I need to go home. Yeah, two years are not getting pussy when you're, like, going through puberty.

Man, like, what the fucking did? That's got to be tough. Yeah, hovies. For sure. Are you thinking about rapping while you were locked up? Hell, yeah. Now, I always, like, I don't know, I wrote music and shit while I was in jail. Like, that's where most of my songs come from.

Mm-hmm. Definitely. So, I mean, it's funny. Like, you said something that I've kind of heard a lot of people associated with the Hoover say, which is basically like you kind of like learn to have beef with everybody at a young age. Like, it very much brings you up in a specific way. Well, when I wasn't even from the shit, the niggas that I, like, the niggas that ended up being from other sides, we didn't get along anyways.

Like, those type of niggas out beef with anyway. Right. I ain't going to lie. Okay. Because it's like, I don't know, just growing up in my area, we're not the same as, like, other people, I feel. Right. Yeah. Okay.

So, do you get in any, like, additional trouble while you're locked up, or you managed to keep it pretty cool in there? Yeah, I got in more trouble while I was a Jew. What happened? That's why I ended up saying. I additionally, I mean, I got sentenced to, like, I don't know, I really got sentenced to, like, probably 12 months, something like that. When a hoover, niggas was fighting this shit. You can kick that a placement against the placement to placement. Who were fighting in there.

getting just extra time on hoover right okay so then you get out and what do you do when you get out are you like already thinking about music at that point hell no niggas i at first when i first got i was trying to get a bag i ain't gonna lie to you i'm getting i was in my little bag on hova i got i had a file little beamer change shit like that on hova and get my little bag i don't know how are you getting money shit can't remember i feel you Yeah, but I'm hoping. So a nigga was in my little bag or whatever. That's that fair question, right?

Yeah, paper rap or something. Yeah, but the nigga was getting my little money or whatever. That's what I was worried about when I got out. Mm-hmm. But you weren't thinking about rapping at that time? When did that start? Nah. The first time I rapped, over, I got in the studio, the homie poke.

Actually, I always have my little music, but I ain't, like, tell nobody I want to be a rapper type of team. I see you got a bunch of songs with him. Yeah, the homie poke took me to studio or whatever. And then that's what we made. The game show, my boy four acted. Uh-huh. I hope the first song ever made it on viral off the first little shit. So I'm like, oh, yeah, a nigga rap after this.

So the dude, Pogue is like an older guy that you were associated with that he kind of helped bring you into it. Yeah, he did a nigga in with the fat-ass rugs and, you know. What, uh, did you bring you like a real studio or are you doing in the crib? Yeah, to the red room. Nice. And you just fell into it right away. You didn't have no problem, like, hopping on. I don't know, a nigga rap.

Don't hope it sounded good thing the motherfucker. So we're like, on verse. I think this Finnego viral. drop it, make a video, somebody putting money behind this video. However, we end up, I end up paying out of his pocket. Polk ended up helping for the video probably, I think. Over then, we dropped it and we were viral on my own YouTube. Wow, that's far.

Yeah, because like when you got out of being locked up, did you feel like you were trying to really stay out of trouble? Or like, what was your mentality on that? I didn't go, I don't know. A nigga was, I don't know. Just being myself, getting used to society again. Right. Was that hard to get used to?

Yeah, kind of. Because I was in Michigan. They sent me to placement in Michigan. Wow. Yeah. That's crazy. Niggas in Michigan. Okay, so how did you guys, when did you guys all become friends

and what was your perspective on what he was going through during this time? This is my blood brother. Right. And I knew him since, like, elementary middle school? I went for a long time. Did you guys feel like there was a chance that he was going to make it as a rapper? Or what was your perspective on that? Shit, they didn't even know he's gonna be a rapper.

He was in the bin. And this is my blood brother. He dropped the video and I'm like, damn, Trey Rap. You know, I didn't know Cherry Rap. Right. I found out a pen. They told me about the, this ain't a little baby this. He inspired me to rap a little bit too.

On the damn, I'm like, if I drop it, I hope it goes as borrow as his shit. Because his shit had like a million at this time already. But you had that hook while you were locked up from that one song? That, oh, yeah. That came from the jail for sure. Really? This ain't a little baby this thomas. I used to jail start telling me about it.

I'm like, yeah, I'm going crazy. That always blows my mind when I talk to rappers who had like a song in their head in prison. Then they get home and recorded and it becomes big. That's wild. And that shit was like fast for bro, like fast. That's crazy. Damn. So you're just walking around and being locked up, just singing that, pissing people off?

Or you're not even around people who would get offended by that? Oh shit. I don't know. Probably doing that on purpose on the dead home. You're seeing it on purpose. Like, you guys just started shooting the video for it, or how'd that go? After that, I dropped like one or two more songs, and then my manager hit me up. Actually, I met my manager at another.

the music video and I told him I was gonna be a rapper on the dead hunvies I told him like yeah like you might as well start managing me right now and be a rapper boom and then uh he ended up coming across my Instagram through my music videos again and then picked me up so he started pushing me to you know make a lot of music wow so did your manager give you like really good guidance in terms of like knowing how to actually become a real rapper yeah interesting what kind of guidance what kind of advice he give you stay in the wonderful studio now it's the streets type shit right are you still at that stage in your life where I like you're happy to just, you know,

go hang out in the neighborhood and be on the corner and shit like that? Or are you really past that? I ain't going to say all right, look. I mean... You seem like you're pretty outside. Or at least recently. I'm going to stay far away from all crimes, you know? I'm not trying to be involved in any crimes.

Can you explain how that situation? actually happened, like how you ended up seeing him and shit? I was on Marrows, I seen him, we ended up having a conversation and we ended up taking a picture. What was the conversation like?

Shit, I don't know a regular conversation. Like, what's the deal? And then I asked go for a picture. Like, take a picture for me. Uh-huh. Were you surprised when this became controversial online? Surprised, a nigga felt like it was like a little weird,

And I don't know about all these signs you're throwing up his stuff, but I know it's something. I wasn't dissing nobody here. And I thought I just thought it. In that photo? Okay.
