Starting point is 00:00:00 Be the right club. Be the right club today. I mean, that's better than most. How about him? That is better than most. Better than most. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the Noling Up podcast. It's kind of a Noling Up watch-along, actually.
Starting point is 00:00:47 A little bit less of a podcast. We're doing something different today. Welcome, if you're watching here on YouTube. My name is DJ. I'm here with my guy, T.C. we got something very fun today. I hope you're near a TV. I hope you can fire up the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am because that's what we're doing.
Starting point is 00:01:03 We're watching some golf and TC. We're kind of reeling because we just watched Ben Griffin hit some sort of wood from the beach into the ocean. We don't know what he's going to do for a drop. We've got a lot to wrap our heads around. That was spectacular. What a way to get things started off. We're sitting here in, I would say it's better than the megatower.
Starting point is 00:01:20 It is, the super tower. Yeah, I've got to struggle not to do a gym, Nancy, can you stick around and watch some golf? I would love to. We are going to have a fun time. Solly's out on the golf course right now. Neil is caddying for him. They actually just finished.
Starting point is 00:01:34 Oh, they are no longer on the golf course. Net 66. I love that. I think it was a gross 66 as well. They're going to be in here to talk about their day in a little bit. Like I said, we're going to watch some golf. We're watching a Sam Burns replay on number five. Right now, if you're trying to time up your screen, and while you're trying to time up your
Starting point is 00:01:50 screen, it's 18T Pebble Beach Pro Am Week. We are here for the third year in a row. live at Pebble Beach proudly presented by our friends at AT&T. TC connectivity is truly the bridge to possibility. Improving the way we move through our daily lives. AT&T creates connections to what people need to thrive in their everyday lives, connections to friends, family work, commerce, education, health, entertainment, and more. For 150 years, connecting people has been AT&T's calling and to find out more.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Head to ATT.com. AT&T. Connecting changes everything. Took the words out of my mouth, TC. We're out here looking. We're watching guys play the third green. One of my favorite. Sneaky favorite hole. I love number three.
Starting point is 00:02:33 Like I said, we can see Sam Burns scorecard right now if you're trying to kind of somewhat time up your shots here. But we're going to be watching golf. We'll be reacting a little bit. Talking about our week. Like I said, Neil and Sally are going to be trickling in here. How's your week going, man?
Starting point is 00:02:46 What have you been up to? My week's been going well. I actually went out to the sixth green earlier and saw Sam Burns. He was short of six and two. and he putted one from off the green and it rolled almost right back down to his feet. And so he probably should be at 10 under tied with Rio hit Satsune. Your guy, the weekend. He can't feel his face right now.
Starting point is 00:03:08 A Fadora 5 member. Was he on the Fador 5? He was on like the practice spot. No, actually he wasn't. Yeah, this is where we cannot let this get out of control is if you're going to start just claiming everybody. We've got to just be very careful. I don't think so my week's going great, especially now that the sun's out. It was a little, little.
Starting point is 00:03:24 All over the place yesterday. Little touch a go. Today, far more predictable. I feel like we're playing golf in a dome today. Great stat from golf channels. Great stat from golf channel there. Sam, second player to go sub 30 on the back nine after our guy, Ken Duke in 2012. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Love anytime you can work at Ken Duke's dad in, I think you got to do that. How's your week going? My week's been awesome, man. We've talked a little bit about this on the live show yesterday, but busy week. You know, we're doing a little bit of team. off sites we're talking connecting with one another connecting with one another of course uh yeah it's it's nice to get the whole team in one place and then you know to pay it off with uh the live shows is is great yesterday uh you know so sally in case you missed all of this in case in case
Starting point is 00:04:08 in case you've uh you know not been following on the podcast or social media uh solie got a last minute invite to play in the tournament which is like the coolest thing i think you can say uh so we've been trying to figure out what the what the right way to do that is you know with everybody's flights booked and whatever and we've got like a fun road catty situation going on. So I got to go caddy in a practice round yesterday when the weather cleared up. Me and Solly and Drew went out to go walk pebble. We're like, I'll see if we can maybe get four or five holes in. We ended up playing 16 and a half holes. I think like legitimately we got to see big tone on 17 and 18. They joined us, which is, you know, that's an honor. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:04:47 I mean, it's, I don't know how many times in your life, you know, on the caddy front, on the player front. I don't know how many times you're going to have Pebble Beach to yourself. That's wild. So we're like, I think we're just going to stay out here until someone kicks us out. So that was my caddy experience. Neil is under the pump today. Caddying out at Pebble Beach. You're going to be out of Spy Glass tomorrow. I am. Where we're watching Rory McElroy just maybe lose a T-shot right. It looks like. Yeah, Rory's got two doubles on the car today, both on part three. I don't know. He hit the fairway. That was like a big time.
Starting point is 00:05:17 He came out. I think he had an eagle early on. And he's just, kind of been strikes and gutters today. So I've never seen, I've never seen spyglass in person or over the first time. No one does the work like TC, you know. That's going to be great. I think you need to ask solid questions during the round. Hey, what's this whole do? Hey, what's this whole dude, man? What's, let's see. I mean, I'm familiar with it, but I've never actually stepped foot out there before. I thought Neil did a great job today. From what we saw, you know, we were, allegedly. We were out there, uh, you and I followed him for the front eye and then kind of came in here and got set up. And yeah, they just seemed real calm.
Starting point is 00:05:50 like, Sully was just pretty dialed. That's what I saw. You know, he played a practice around yesterday. And I was like, man, we're almost playing too good. Like, do we leave? Do we need to get out of here right now? Wasting him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:02 But he was great. He almost hold it on seven. You know, it's blown like it was playing 95 yards. I put from Sander there to finish his day. It was playing 95 yards. Solly hit a nine iron, like a hard nine iron. Almost when the hole landed a foot from the hole, spun back to three feet, made birdie.
Starting point is 00:06:20 We got to eight. He was perfectly right up on top of the hill. Great number might be. And he hits an eight iron almost holds that. That landed a foot from the hole. I was like, man, we got to get out of here right now. But it was kind of a continuation today. I mean, he was just keeping it in front of him. He probably shot 37 on the front. I think eight pars in a bogey. And we don't know what he, I think he made a birdie on seven. Mav hit one in there to six or seven feet. I think he missed the put. Sully made the putt. Or Neil, Neil scooped it for Matt. I just said, hey, pro, that's good. And then, you know, and then Mav really, really heated up towards the end of the round there,
Starting point is 00:06:56 the last 10 holes or so. Which this is kind of an NLU greatest hits sort of take here, I know. But man, it's just fun anytime you can watch someone build around because it's a little bit of a tale of two cities with Mav today where we watched them in like 10, 11, 12. It just kind of was like a little sloppy, just wasn't quite putting it together. And then if you would have told me like, oh, yeah, no, he's going to go light the backline on fire. It's like, ah, that's, it's fun to watch someone, you know, put the whole thing together across a day, which is what Jordan Speeth is doing, which we got to see out at Spyglass. We did a little, a little warm up with him out there the other day, which was great. Michael said it was there. It's close.
Starting point is 00:07:36 I know. I know. He was, he was always, like, awesome with his time. But we, he let Neil carry the bag for him for three holes or so. Greller's giving him a crash course on how to caddy. Jordan's talking through. anything we could possibly wonder about every single shot and how he's doing it. Cam McCormick's there. Those two are going back and forth about swing DNA and they have all kinds of little terms. I don't even know what those mean, which was great. It was great. So here's what I'll say about Jordan. I feel like we get plenty of flack for like riding for him for maybe, maybe tailing past results. I don't care. Jordan's my favorite player, man. What do you want me to do? Like this thing started as like, you know, golf fans talking about golf.
Starting point is 00:08:20 2014, 2015, 2015, 2016. Like, Spieth makes me feel stuff, man. I don't know what I could say. He's my favorite guy to watch golf. It's a bit of you in Fleetwood situation. I know you like Jordan, too.
Starting point is 00:08:31 But my, the only difference is my stuff is forward-looking. Speaking of which, do we want to talk about that? I mean, the Fedora 5's performing, the Baluga's Big Board is performing. Rio Hizsatsatsune, boge-free 62 we talked about today.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Sam Burns. 63, I don't think you gave a lot of, I don't think you or the Baluga gave a lot of credit to Sam Burns, but maybe we can ask him about that. It's not a Bermuda event. Russ Henley. We saw some of that.
Starting point is 00:08:54 Russ almost made an ace on number seven. What did you think about watching him? Have you watched him play in person very much? I played with him in the pro-am at the BMW last year. Oh, there you go. A big brawny golf course. And he's like, I'm just not long enough. And then he finished, you know, top 15.
Starting point is 00:09:11 I was talking to Neil about it a little bit in between holes. And he's just like, I mean, again, this sounds so obvious, but I promise I have a point. He's just a professional golf. for it, man. He just gets the ball in the hole where his tee shots, especially even next to Mavs, man, he's got much more pop in the bat. You know, his, his t-ball's kind of a little knuckily out there. They're kind of low. And, and, but man, he just, you get a wedge in his hand. You get a short iron in his hand, even a long iron. Like, he just keeps himself. Yes. It's so impressive to watch him.
Starting point is 00:09:41 Like, he's mixing up speeds, mixing up, you know, location, all that stuff. He's, he consistently gets more out of his game than just about anybody. I totally agree. He shot 66 today. Pabble, Jake Knapp, 66 over at Spyglass. Jake, we were pretty high on Jake Knapp on the, very high on yesterday's live show. Speath, Speedth hold out on 18 over at Spyglass for like that, from 128 yards out. I love it.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Sep wasn't getting a lot of respect from the Beluga on the big board. He shot 66. That's a statement. We love that. Nick Taylor, past, past champion. I'm just receiving word. He's a past champ of this tournament. Akshay, T3, he's got Joe Griner on the bag.
Starting point is 00:10:24 That's a recent development. Yeah, that was fun. I talked to Joe about that a little bit. What a dope shot. Sorry, the watchalong. I love this drone shot. They got the guy out on 14. That's a, that was a big time.
Starting point is 00:10:38 Remember when CBS did that the first time? Yeah. That big massive tower on 14. That is an improvement. To show, like, I mean, you feel it as you're walking out there, you know, T.C. has been on the record plenty about Pable maybe a little under-realized in spots.
Starting point is 00:10:53 You get out to... It is a great meeting of land and see. Yeah, you get out to 8, 9, 10. You're like, ah, it's frizz. It's pretty good. It's pretty good. Even, I mean, we're sitting here looking at 3. 3 and 4 is... 3-4 is great. And then, yeah, 6 through 10s,
Starting point is 00:11:08 all world. Solly didn't get up the hill on 6th yesterday. Driver 3-wood didn't get up the hill. It was, it was pumping. We were talking about 14. 14 is you know I was I was talking about certain holes certain courses we said this about TBC sawgrass where you feel like just absolutely missed my mouth with that die code you see it's an Atlanta company I think 14 sally was from the uptees at a disadvantage because he had to bite off more of playing bubble golf out there you see how much that he actually did overcut it
Starting point is 00:11:41 or Neil gave him a bad number that's true yeah that could have been the case too so I continued going to go down the leaderboard here. Ricky Fowler playing nice. How about Ricky popping in for a little pod bump? That was, did you know he was coming in yesterday? I didn't. Surprise.
Starting point is 00:11:53 See him walking through the door. He's a gentleman. Chris Goddardup started his tournament was six 30s in a row. You believe that? You got to do that more off. You got to do that more off. He's, he's sitting at back at 11.
Starting point is 00:12:03 So he's sitting at minus six. And then we got Patrick Rogers, Keegan Bradley, the postman. Pound for Pound. Delivering on Thursday. He's, he's at minus six here at Pebble.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Minwu Lee, Siwu, Kim, Neil, so the beluga got word that Siwu was five under through five early this morning. And that just gave him a real jolt. It did. All right. Here's Ben Griffin cleaning up for that six that we talked about. I don't know. I don't know what. How? I don't know what that ruling is. Like if you're hitting it. Let's see. Okay. So he was hitting it from the beach. I'm assuming that was his second shot from the beach. Yeah. There's no way it could have crossed anything. Ben Griffin. Like, where does he, where does he drop? All right, so he was, he hit one. I must have crossed somewhere because he dropped way up like. No, no, no, no, no. He dropped on the beach. He just laid up to 107 out. And then he hit one to where we just saw him from. He made seven.
Starting point is 00:13:01 He made seven. It's not going to make a lunch taste any better, T.C. No. As they say. Deeds Tommy's playing well. Congratulations. I think, you know, everybody saw that coming. He just just just tapped in for 67 over,
Starting point is 00:13:14 over at Spyglass. Should be pretty similar conditions over here at Pebble tomorrow, I think. Before it's going to get gnarly on Sunday. We might be in for, you know, it's kind of like the surfing competitions that we just talk about. They're not held unless the conditions are right. There almost needs to be, you know, for all to talk about the players and is it a major, they might need to have one major just like that sits in the humidor. You don't know it's a major until like Saturday night.
Starting point is 00:13:42 We don't know. The weather's going to be so bad tomorrow. It's going to be such a test. Oh, great pot by Rory. It's going to be such a test of Rio Golf that we have declared that tomorrow is a major championship. Rory looks exhausted. We're going to decant this thing. Some serious geometry on that scorecard.
Starting point is 00:13:58 Eagles, doubles. Team Rose had some serious geometry, too. He's not making a lot of pars. This feels like such a team rose setup. What do you shoot today? Or where is he at? He is just kind of middling right now. He's way down.
Starting point is 00:14:12 He's even through 30. 13 over its spy. Along with the great man, Scotty, which kind of a, that was, I teed this up an hour ago now, but it's like, the Baluga's Big Board.
Starting point is 00:14:21 I'm sorry. Getting my, my models crossed with all these, all these different proprietary models. The Fedora 5, I'm sorry. It is a forward looking index,
Starting point is 00:14:30 right? And so you knew, Scotty, you knew something we didn't. I was catching a lot of flack from people and I stuck my neck out and I'm being proven, proven correct here.
Starting point is 00:14:39 Novak to a minus seven. Ball, Ball, Senior Balno or Nova. Has anybody Novak was like 100 out of 100 yesterday.
Starting point is 00:14:49 Oh, here we go. Look at these guys. Here comes the boys. Hey guys. Here they go. Hey, waiting for them to come. Oh, yeah, they are walking through the background. People can't see that right now, though.
Starting point is 00:15:00 Sure. I thought they could pick up the context clues. You guys can't see the screen right now. Run through listener questions while we have a little bit of time. Has there been an update at all on the great man man of the year trophy T.C. Any run-ins with team? No.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Yeah, I saw him warming up this morning doing his short game warm-off. I didn't want to bombard him. Yeah. Or cheap in the award. Yeah, process first. You don't want to cheapen the award either
Starting point is 00:15:28 by like, you know, he needs to really sink in the moment. You can't be doing it in between seven hours. We can get this ship to him. I didn't want to give this to Fucci and have him have to carry this around this. Correct. Not via shipsticks, of course.
Starting point is 00:15:42 It wouldn't get there, buddy. Cody, we're going to get the boys settled in here. Should we roll a little video? We had Michael Greller take a little bit of time to analyze Neil's caddy performance the other day, which I thought was very, very helpful. He took a second just to kind of mention what he saw from that.
Starting point is 00:16:02 And I think maybe we can play that. We'll see if these boys trickle in. If not, we'll kill a little bit more time on the other side. But here's Neil asking Greller, a couple questions about his caddy performance, what to do today out at Pebble. Yeah, Neil, I think showed more improvement in a short period of time than I've ever seen any caddy do. You know, very, very rocky start. Sure.
Starting point is 00:16:26 And we all make mistakes as a caddy. I make as much as anybody. But what I admired about your caddy game was he kind of owned it on the first. and then you just you stayed really positive and you didn't get caught in that moment it's easy for me as a caddy to kind of beat myself up or mistakes like I got the wind wrong on three
Starting point is 00:16:47 the most important thing for my guy to hear and you did a really good job of this it's just like you know my bad yeah you gotta own it you got to own it and your ownership was at an elite level good so that was inspiring I think just in general
Starting point is 00:17:04 you got a good vibe just, you know, laid back, not too intense, but not too checked out or laid back. I'm going to let my guy kind of lead the way on what to say, you know. I want to react to him. I'm not trying to put anything in his head. Is that? Yeah, that's very fair. Yeah, this week just boils down to can he execute the shots?
Starting point is 00:17:26 Sure. Because you're going to do your job. That's very evident to me. Well, we were talking about the yardage book, us amateurs are spoiled. You know, I haven't had to do arithmetic in a while. You know, we've got calculators in our pockets. Yeah, I know. I kind of panicked there.
Starting point is 00:17:38 I was like, a lot of numbers, red numbers, front of the green, you know. So I'm, that's, you know, a lot coming at me on that first hole. Yeah, no, this was a good experience for you. I think Thursday when you guys pay it, you know, you know to count the clubs on the first hole, you know. Michael and I'm talking about, like, I think the amateurs can use rangefinders. I'll say maybe I go analog because I respect the game so much, you know. It might cost them two or three strokes, but we played the game. game the right way. Yeah, Andrews. Yeah, and he kind of, I think he was vibrant with that too.
Starting point is 00:18:09 What's the worst mistake you can make out here? The worst mistake, particularly this week in his position, is to take it too seriously. Sure. You know, they're going to be playing with two incredible pros, Matt, I think Maverick McNeely and Russell. Russell Henley. You know, the one thing you don't want to see is the, you know, the caddy grinding it out over there. with his AM, you know, trying to finish out a triple boge. Not that Sally's going to do that. I think you're going to make a lot of pars on a few birdies, but... Understand our role in the proceedings and act quickly.
Starting point is 00:18:47 Stay out of people's line. Stay out of shadow. I got to watch my shadows. Got to watch early calls. Maybe just keep your mouth shut. You got no early calls out of you today. I know. I was good.
Starting point is 00:18:56 I was on that. You were dialed. Yeah. And then I appreciate the tips on the bunker. I mean, you're a technician in there, and it's fun to learn from the best. Yeah. Thanks. So, yeah, hey, it's always good to see you.
Starting point is 00:19:06 Yeah, man, you too. All right, good luck this week. Let's get some role going, huh? No, come on. It's coming. I know, good. It's coming, he said. And it was 66 for our guy, the Linksmaster.
Starting point is 00:19:19 Well, I love how impressed Greller was with Neil's catty ability. His ability to say my bad. His ability to say my bad, the most important ability, maybe next to availability. Shall we, shall we hear how. the reality matched up with the projection. Gentlemen, welcome into the house here, guys. It's great to see you guys. We're here with
Starting point is 00:19:42 Sallie, Solomon, and his caddy, Neil Schuster. Guys, what did we shoot first? And then how did it go second? Team game. Our team shot 66. Great. Yeah. We shot six under. Some would say Mav did most of the work with a 67.
Starting point is 00:19:58 You know, the media, I've heard that that's what the media is reporting out there. And that would be accurate. That was my takeaway after those first nine. I was like, man, Sali played great. Also could have slept in. You know, Mav shot even. Golf is boring.
Starting point is 00:20:12 Mav could have maybe used you on those first five or six. He was electric from 18 on. He broke, you know, he didn't come out hot today. He was a little frustrated. You know, had a little pole going there for a little while. I had a bunch of okay shots in the early part. I had a really, really good put on 11. that I thought I made.
Starting point is 00:20:34 That was one of the harsher lipouts I can remember having in recent memory, but didn't really threaten any other birdies on that front nine. It was not my best effort. I'll say it. It was a great effort. We tried our hardest. Try my hottest.
Starting point is 00:20:47 A lot of parts. Try my hottest. But Greg Parman, getting zero shots is not a very good pro-am partner. I'm just not. That's hard. TC, happy to report that, well,
Starting point is 00:20:57 maybe sad to report. Mav should have had the T. I know. We were closely. We were closely monitoring that situation. Seven and then missed, what, an eight footer on eight? All less than that on eight. It was about four feet on eight, according to Shotlink.
Starting point is 00:21:11 Yeah. And it looked like Henley almost made an ace on seven. Twice on five and seven. He almost made, so from our view, it looked like he hit it to two inches, but almost nobody clapped. And like, he was legitimately like, I made this part up. I guess my name's got to be Jordan Speed to get a clap out. He walked up to the green. He's like, y'all think that's a good shot?
Starting point is 00:21:29 He was harassed the crowd a little bit. finally somebody gave him like a little token clap up there but we were very confused I'm like that's like a I was out there was pretty rowdy out near seven on five on five on five he also almost made an ace on seven yeah you hit the stick on seven hit the stick yeah yeah we look I look back at math was just like doubled over in shock and that that ball did not go in but like it was it was I mean I would say eight times out of 10 that ball goes in from where it bounds to to to hitting the stick and then spinning a little bit back both those guys so so impressive it's Henry just made so many eight to ten footers. Anytime you needed it for a sand save, don't think he missed a fairway.
Starting point is 00:22:08 We talked about afterwards. He missed 13 and barely missed nine our last hole. It was in the right rough there. That's right. I was thinking about that. Just on the front night, I didn't see what they did in the back nine. But on that front nine,
Starting point is 00:22:19 it's like a bad putter, like slash one of us shoots 41 from where they're hitting it. Right? I mean, and they just refuse to make bogeys. They just won't do it. And then as soon as you start getting it, going with wedges and iron it's like oh now they're birdies great russ is up and down on
Starting point is 00:22:36 on 10 the first hole was like yeah that was one of the greasiest thing as i've ever seen neither guy made a bogey as i'm thinking of it did they i don't think either either mad i didn't keeping the score math i know mad didn't make a bogey but i don't think russ made one uh made one either it was it's weirdly russ made one he bogeed one he bogeed one oh he did he oh yeah big hand up on this one there was an early call in the group today, and it was not Neil. Oh, my God. It was me on one.
Starting point is 00:23:07 He made even worse by the fact that Russ made bogey. He hit the green. He hit a pro 15 feet on to the green and was pretty far back. It was not like a ripper and it comes all the way off. Shot Russ. And I mean, I was, I could have crawled in that bad. I don't know if he heard me. You should have just been like.
Starting point is 00:23:27 Solly owned it. He said he was walking. He said, God, I really called him there. You know what? That's what we were just listening. and Michael Greller right before you guys sat down what's the most important thing when you mess it up hand up my bad my bad pro that's what I'm saying I don't want people out there to blame Neil for my lack of birdies out there today I don't I'm not going to let that happen yeah that's
Starting point is 00:23:45 big one birdie one birdie seven seven it ended up being we just Mav was outside or map was inside of you it's like four feet I was like oh this is a pointless but I like a 25 footer Russ's coin was in my way and Mav was in so close that I'm like I'm not going to ask him to move the coin. And so it turns out it wasn't in the way. Like I misread the putt, but it redirected into the center of the hole. And I'm like, oh, cool. I snuck a birdie. Man was going to cover me up anyways. And he missed that. And the birdie, he played great until I made the
Starting point is 00:24:14 birdie. So you could say that me making a bunch of parts was helping him. Totally. He was freed up. I think that's right. Like we said from the jump, if you're just joining us doing a bit of a watch along here. So hopefully you're close to a TV, tablet, phone. You're watching the little golf. We just saw Akshay, just nearly chip in there. Who's powering today's show? AT&T. We've got a great setup here from our friends at AT&T. We're just, what is this?
Starting point is 00:24:39 North of the third green, is that right? Yes. We're watching Nick Taylor in the blowby shoes. Michael Kim asked me, he was like, what are the blowbys? And Jacob Bridgman was wearing blowbys this morning. And I said, you see Jacob Bridgman and everything, those are the blowbys.
Starting point is 00:24:56 It's interesting. It is weirdly more impressive. somehow to watch these guys on a, quote, easy setup. Like when, as easy as it was today, just watching, like, watching them go on offense and Mavs standing over a 12-foot putt and just like, oh, like, he would have to try to miss this. There's no way this poll is not going in the hole. Like, they just are so freaking impressive, man.
Starting point is 00:25:17 I promise it's not as easy as out there as they're making it look. Shocker, pro golfers are really good. But, man, it was, it was awesome. The whole is, is, is Campbell still in last place? He is. You should have seen Neil when he saw that up on the board for the for the first time. He's, he's going into, he's kind of turned it around on the back nine of it's spot. Sewu, where did his first five?
Starting point is 00:25:39 What, what, uh, I don't see him. Seward is first five got her up, birdies for six. Yeah, I think Seward got it in at five under. I think that was the, uh, that was the high water mark there. Podcast bump for a guy, Andrew Novak here. Novac for Bernie. Solly, it's going to go a little to his right. It will drift back to our left. Yep.
Starting point is 00:25:55 I mean, come on. What are you doing, Andrew? I can see that from here. It's not seen. That's the pot I made. That's the only one I made all day. Neil Sepp, Sepp shot 66 as well out here at Pebble.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Just wanted to let you know that. Will you apologize? Is Spy playing a lot harder, much harder at all than... Looks like it's pretty... Nick Taylor's... We got what? One, two, three,
Starting point is 00:26:19 four, five, six... Six guys in the top 17 are at Spy. Okay. Playing well. we know left. Actually, he's playing well. Speed hold out earlier on 18.
Starting point is 00:26:32 I was good. I saw, I was like, we're trying to do the scoreboard math. I'm like, wait, speed he went from 300 to 500 on her on 18. Is that a par?
Starting point is 00:26:38 Does that actually change to a par five? And I didn't know it. Oh, hold out. Hooped it. Is speed back? Get me up to speed. Many people are saying,
Starting point is 00:26:46 Tommy shot 67 over at Spyglass. Rory made two doubles. Murray had a lot of geometry on the car today. Doubled both. Shane Bacon's psycho scorecard today. Yeah, team Rose is struggling to make pars. He's all over the place.
Starting point is 00:26:57 plenty of birdies as well. But yeah, Rory doubled both the par threes over at Spyglass on the he still shot 68, but very, very uneven 68. Scotty freaking out and that's why he was only.
Starting point is 00:27:13 He's pressing. We were commending the Fedora 5 as a forward looking index. You know, I think TC had to kind of eat a lot of shit on that. Not having Scotty in there. No, I, you know. Why you're not allowed to ask question. If he is not, if Scott
Starting point is 00:27:27 He hasn't won a tournament. There's no, most recent tournament, there's no chance he can be in the Fittora 5. I did call out last night, hit Satsune, it could blow up the big board. The weekend. Did you have him way down?
Starting point is 00:27:37 I thought you were giving him respect. No, I had him in like the 20s. I was kind of say, like, I was pretty vocal about it. I think he's going to run out of juice like this week. Can we keep it going?
Starting point is 00:27:47 And bogey free 602. Yes. Yes, we can. Ludvig's plus two. He's fourth to last right now. I wasn't. People are getting worried. Yeah, no, I'm not getting worried, but other people are.
Starting point is 00:27:59 I think it's big of you to bring that up because that's, that's tough, D.C. I don't know. What are we doing, man? Neil had this one, too. He called out that he's worried about him, but then he put him at 17. We were trying to talk into that, man. No, he was much farther down than that. No, he's 17. I'll have to check.
Starting point is 00:28:16 80 names. It's hard to keep track. Green and disagree. I was one of the rare instance. Any spicy pins out there today? Three was fun right over that little bunker there. Three was, that was one of the tougher ones. it's hard to call them, but I mean, it's so soft out there. Like, it's just so soft.
Starting point is 00:28:32 So you're, it rained a lot. It did rain a lot. And you, you're playing like, I, you know, I was kind of, a couple of times got leaked into the rough and I was not upset about that massive roar. Massive roar on. Oh, well, I don't want to spoil it. 17? Uh, it looks like 16.
Starting point is 00:28:50 16. 16. Was it a birdie for the, birdie for the kids, maybe? I think 16. If I would, I don't want to spoil it. for anybody, but I think maybe on 16. We might have a highlight coming on soon. T.C. March is
Starting point is 00:29:03 going to be major. I'm here. I heard that. Scotty, putting on 15th. Can we get one here, man? Let's go. We cannot. We cannot. The answer is... See, it's tough out there, guys. Telly, what happened on 18? 18. Matt had a nice drive, and in the
Starting point is 00:29:21 practice round last night, I hit a really, really good drive between the tree and the boundary. And I just decided I was going to... God, he just flung the putter. running hot interesting I decided I was going to be really really aggressive I'm feeling this one might go in
Starting point is 00:29:36 well look at DJ Colin shots on tape he's got a chance to hold this one here guys oh okay maybe somebody playing in his group I could speak to 18 maybe it was no to maybe
Starting point is 00:29:53 solly you know they're taking the picture the AM pro picture the AM pro picture, Stillwater Cove, just looking gorgeous. You and I are chopping it up. I heard you tell him. He was kind of like the proverbial Tony Feeneau Dougie. Yeah. He was kind of feeling himself on that tea.
Starting point is 00:30:08 And just, we had a good line picked out. I told you, or I heard you tell him, hey, I need something more specific. I did say that. You said between the red steak and the tree. I was like, I'd like to hear something more. And then you said red steak. No, yeah. I said, I said, we're going, you know, left of the tree in that gap.
Starting point is 00:30:24 And then I said, I'm going right over that red steak. I just pulled a little. I didn't get a lot of. of air under it and pulled it a little bit had a had a chance to kind of ride that win and I did it bounced yeah we don't yeah we're unsure what happened there's a bunch of balls down there and then the rocks I was not going to be that I that that was a goal of mine today I was not going to be that am right before we came on Ben is this your guy no Murray Murray demo come on this is got to be it I think this awesome nice action oh I think he loves it guys he's got a chance to hold this
Starting point is 00:30:52 one oh oh right well the O ring Murray. Is it a bit of a blocky. Hey, Windham. That's that go in? That go in? That is totally blind from over there. Totally.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Great story. You'll enjoy this. Oh, sorry, real quick, before I forget. But right before we came on, they showed Ben Griffin hit a ball down there from the beach. You hit it down to the beach, hit a three wood, like way in the water. It was electric.
Starting point is 00:31:20 Yeah, maybe he made it too. Maybe that's what everybody was cheered about. Oh, there's two deer in the fairway over there. There's no many deer on. It's like a lot of TV right. now as well. Speaking of, as we're watching 16. Oh, my gosh. Wow. God, he was a shot too.
Starting point is 00:31:34 Got her up might be the dude. On 16, we went on practice last night. I hit like a little toe draw driver over in the left rough, kind of blind in the rough, right from where these guys are hitting it right now. And you know, took a big divot over there. Kind of try to replace it, but doesn't really replace
Starting point is 00:31:49 in the rough. Hit a two iron today, smoked it, but pulled it a little bit. In the same divot? In literally in my divot from last night. In the very front of divot from last night like it is the exact shape of my of my divot and uh yeah i did not i did not make birdie on that hole each one one spot i'd like to talk about is uh eight t um i tried my hottest to talk him into four iron and he insisted on hitting two iron really is that right and he he had it backwards and he he just hold though we were hammered downwind yesterday i i still think
Starting point is 00:32:23 four iron was to play there i don't think you were committed that i was not committed to iron because you put a bunch of bad thoughts. That's not right. I backed off quick. I was thinking about using my veto. What happened? What happened? I like,
Starting point is 00:32:34 I tried to like smooth the two iron and I just like smothered it and it like going up that hill. Like barely got over the hill. I had like $2.30. I was going to say 300. I had 300. It was really, really, that was see,
Starting point is 00:32:46 this is why we should have left yesterday after you made the birdie on seven. I know. Because you like, then you go to eight and you're just. Because he kept saying, he's like, well, last night I hit,
Starting point is 00:32:52 I hit, I hit four iron as hard as I could downwind. and it didn't reach. So I should hit two iron. I was like, well, why you just hit four iron again? It'd be right in the middle of the fairway. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:33:01 Like, Mav is going to, Mav hits a five feet anyways. Like, I'm trying to be like, put me at the end of the fairway to make, I try to make it sound. I was playing like a little bit reckless at times.
Starting point is 00:33:12 I hit driver off four. I support that. I'm telling you hit driver again there. I hit driver on six. I didn't really have anywhere to land that one. I plugged it in the up, up slope above a bunker. I got relief on that one,
Starting point is 00:33:24 thankfully. I mean, yeah, I was trying to send it, trying to make something happen because it was risk-free. Solly, you're not going to have to worry about that tomorrow because I've never seen the spike glass before. It's going to be a lot of T.C. like, what's this what did you? I don't know here. We're going right or left here. There's some weird stuff out there, too. There is some weird stuff.
Starting point is 00:33:47 Really, the first five holes are so different than like the entire rest of the course. So that we'll probably get a lot more conditions in that stretch out by the ocean. and then get back into the trees and stuff. But dude, that was like the most, I mean, I'm sure you guys have said this already, but like the most picture perfect I've ever seen Pubble. Like it was surreal. It was like warm. It was not warm out there.
Starting point is 00:34:07 Yeah, it's 59 degrees. And I was like, I'm a little toasty out here, putting sunscreen on. Did you misplay the rain pants today? I missplay the long johns under the rain pants. Yeah. I still like the rain pants are flexible. Like I like, just taking the rain pants off a good long job. I thought about it there for a minute.
Starting point is 00:34:22 As long as there's solid color, you should be okay, right? You're talking to two-shot, Trott. Yeah. Out of the bigs to work. Put some shorts on over them, just on the leggings. How are the hater blockers? Great. Great.
Starting point is 00:34:33 I think, you know what? I dropped the green, the T-sheet for the pin sheet. Pin sheet. Walking down to seven and the score picked it up for me. I was like, ah, man, like, can you tell us the first time for me? He's like, no, man, he's like, look like a pro. He's like, you look hard. Man, I think it's all about the hater.
Starting point is 00:34:53 I'm kind of good. What a good feeling. I was like, man, that's step one. He's like, no, you look like he belonged. I'm kind of disappointed you didn't wear a mock neck, though. Well, then I would have been, I would have passed out out there. After the round, Russ even made a comment of like, all of its caddies, he just went down.
Starting point is 00:35:08 Russ made a comment. You did great, man. Sorry about your player, but like, you did great out there. How about that? Well, I was pretty, when we had three pro jocks. Was he making it funny? Sean Head's catty was from Augustine Ash. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:20 And he was fantastic. He was looking out for me. Who were you paired with? who was yeah who else did you play with uh ted from uh beast industries do you guys talk something of a creator myself that kind of digital media disruption scales i think a little bit but yeah talked a little bit about what they got going on over there it's shared best practices on the algo sure yeah it's pretty pretty a little more complicated on that side of the house i think their team is uh you know in the hundreds now well into the hundreds a true industry
Starting point is 00:35:48 yeah okay why don't you come up and check out our setup you might learn a thing or two up at the house Just because you stop by. Hey, shout out to Cody, by the way. For any issues we had yesterday, we rocked them today. Knock on wood. Sally, really, I got a funny story. That was also just not our fault. That was bad.
Starting point is 00:36:03 Bad devices trying to run the cameras into the computer and the GP, all that. Look at this. There's a new win graphic from the PGA tour showing the different severity. I may have been tipped off that this might be coming. I wasn't sure when it was coming. Look at different levels. It's showing the level. I never want to see this.
Starting point is 00:36:25 I don't ever, I don't want to be there in the ozone. It'll lighten up on you. I get completely triggered when I see the different windstrings at different heights. But I mean, great to bring it to life out there because it really is, it's, well, we played seven in the practice round last night and 95 yards. I hit nine. And today it was flipped to dead downwind and it was like a little lob wedge 90 yard shot. That was the ultimate caddy test we had.
Starting point is 00:36:50 because we were like all right man on three let's both say what club we think it is one two three we were both nine iron and i was like oh thank god we yeah we almost had a russ hidley situation on that one last night only two birdies i made both in the practice round and uh today we're both on seven i mean yeah that's throw that in the personal collection that's fun it's nice nice so you on seven speaking of which fun here's your golf one let me keep for the personal collection uh fun story remember jim just steal it from the range down the street or down the hall from us. So I'm standing on 18 Fairway
Starting point is 00:37:24 just watching you. And Jim comes up and he says, Is that who that was? Somebody said hi to me like, he comes up and he goes, he goes, hey man, like I didn't,
Starting point is 00:37:33 I had no idea you guys were doing this and stuff. And I was looking down to the tea sheet. I was like Solomon. And then like, and he saw David Solomon. And he said, and then he saw Chris Solomon. He's like,
Starting point is 00:37:43 no, that can't be the same guy. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Jim, if you're list, probably not. If you weren't aware that we were doing this.
Starting point is 00:37:48 But he said his name quickly. I couldn't recognize who it was. That's crazy. He was just here randomly, not a huge golf. For the rest of the people who. Yeah. He lived, he lived on the hall from us in college.
Starting point is 00:37:58 Freshly of your college. Um, KATHLEEN. He's really good. Stanton on you. That's, that was tough. electric early with Siwu. To look at the board and see Siwu in first
Starting point is 00:38:24 and Brian Campbell and last, I was like, I might retire. I might retire the board, but it is Thursday. Go buy a lottery ticket. But that's the thing. Whatever happens on Thursday is so much more memorable. A lot of times. Now you've got the brain synapses going like, oh, I've licked it this week.
Starting point is 00:38:38 Did that nail that camera thing? Yeah, it doesn't matter what happens. Ohvelness feels like it's going left, no? Yeah, left to the flag. Ballnor or Condi and Ricky plan well? What's the AML. the end later board. Guys, I hate to inform me.
Starting point is 00:38:56 Cantley and Egon Durbin, they might run away with this thing. They're 11 under through 16 at Pebble. Ed Hurleyhi and Rio Hitsatsune are minus 10. Minus 10. And then Godderup and our guy, Murray Demo, who just hold out their minus 10.
Starting point is 00:39:16 That helps. Scottie, even, can he, I feel like Scotty should have to go home. If he's none of the time, half of the field after Friday. That's a miss cut. What if Scotty gets cut after Thursday?
Starting point is 00:39:28 Or what if he comes back and spots the field 10? Oh, he's so hot. I'll tell you guys. Neil, we were wondering, do you think you can go ask me if he wants to come on the live show right when he finished this? Yeah, yeah. I could pop down while he's doing the birdies for the students. Hey, bro, I was just going to have. We're doing a little live show up there. I don't know if you want to swing by.
Starting point is 00:39:47 Make this one for the kids and then come up to above three. We were setting up in here. Oh, look at that. And we were looking out at three green. You guys were marveling at the parties for students board there. For sure. What I said to them, I was like,
Starting point is 00:40:01 they better be counting yours. They did. Okay, good. We got confirmation. Yeah, yeah. Congratulations.
Starting point is 00:40:05 For the kids. For the kids. I was curious because it said two birdies up there, but then it said, you know, it has a rolling ticker of everybody that made birdie. It just said Alex Smalley like 80 times in a row. But there were two birdies.
Starting point is 00:40:19 I was like, they must have counted my other one. Well, they're confused. confused on what Solomon named to put up there. So you guys caught it. You're right. It was scrolling small,
Starting point is 00:40:28 smally, but we went back and actually changed it to no laying up. So $5,000 for the kids. Hey, thanks to the show. It's for the kids. People forget that. Guys,
Starting point is 00:40:36 I think what we need to do, I need to get my guy. We got to get a station set up a little bit. We're going to have some guests coming through here at the top of the hour. I need my guy locked in, dialed in. Probably need a computer handy somewhere. So we might have asked him to step out for a second.
Starting point is 00:40:50 Should we roll the quiz video? Well, I don't know about quiz. We're talking a lot about Bertie 17. We just watched God her up there too. Oh, my gosh. You have no idea what we're talking about. There you go. What a great idea.
Starting point is 00:41:01 Why don't we play that video? Well, you're right. We had Solly out there, got that bird. You should produce the show, Cody. Oh, man. Anyway, here we go. This was, you know, not today, yesterday afternoon. No, Tuesday.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday afternoon. In the teeth of the conditions. Sully T. Famously for the kids. Here we go. We're here at the famous 17th hole at Hebel Beach. We're looking out on the birdies for students.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Started in 2021 as a way to bridge the digital divide. Used to be $2,500 donated for each birdie. They've upped it with the limited field to 5K. How do you feel? Can you land 5K for the kids? If you give me a couple chances, I feel like I can. You brought me out here in the worst of the conditions, I think, you know, to embarrass me a little bit,
Starting point is 00:41:49 I plan to flip that on you guys. If you give me like three chances, I think I can make a birdie. All right, 149, gold keys, three chances. This is a, you think a two club wind? Two and a half maybe. Talk me through, what are we trying to do with this ball? Well, this wind is extremely strong and gonna drift it right. So I'm gonna aim it just left of the grand stand.
Starting point is 00:42:11 I'm gonna hit it hard. I'm still trying to keep it low, though. Hit it hard and I don't want to spin too much. Okay. Oh, work. It's got to go. Go. Work. Yeah. Oh, great shot.
Starting point is 00:42:25 How about that for a first attempt. Come on. Let's go make that. All right. It's for the kids. For the kids. Solly hates the kids. All right, let's try again.
Starting point is 00:42:44 If I could hit the same shot again and get one more shot at that put, we'd be fine. Oh, that's left. Would that be the... We can do it on the sound effects out here, all right? You guys, I look to you guys try this. Attempt two. Brother, we got a makeable one here, huh? This is makeable.
Starting point is 00:43:02 It's for the kids. Shots do look harder when you got to make it, but. Oh, hey, that's a good pass. That's a good attempt. All right, back to the T. One last chance yet. Last try. Rain picking up.
Starting point is 00:43:19 Come on, pro. For the kids. I can do without that gust. Yeah. Piercing. God, that's moving so much. That's the best one I hit. Let's get there.
Starting point is 00:43:35 Let's go chip that one in there. Let's go chip that. All right, last chance. We're going to channel Tom Watson here. Landed just a little bit to the left. And it's going in the hole. Yeah. Yeah?
Starting point is 00:43:48 Yeah. Do it, do it, do it. Yes. Tough ass for the kids. That was a little tiger roll at the very end. All right, that's $5,000. How about that? Did not see that one coming.
Starting point is 00:44:04 Let's get somewhere dry. Tune into the AT&T Bell Beach Pro in this week. Woo! Mr. Sully, congratulations, my man. $5,000 for the kids, as I believe Neil maybe have mentioned. I believe he mentioned, I'm looking out. I can see the scoreboard $75,000 donated by our friends at AT&T.
Starting point is 00:44:22 And like I mentioned upfront, connectivity. Truly the bridge to possibility improving the way we move through our daily lives. AT&T creates connections to what people need to thrive in their everyday lives. Connections to friends, family, work, commerce, education, health, entertainment, and more for 150 years. Connecting people
Starting point is 00:44:39 has been AT&T's calling to find out more. Head to ATT.com. AT&T, Neil. Connecting. Connecting changes. Thank you, Neil. Absolutely. 100%.
Starting point is 00:44:51 For the kids. I was going to say for the kids. I thought about for the kids. We should, well, I think we're going to have a guest at 3 o'clock. Maybe pitch that as a new slogan. Sure. Yeah. We could float that.
Starting point is 00:45:04 Guys, I'm getting word that Killet Trav is playing. is playing golf. He's golf and his ball. Keith Mitchell, his pro partner is two over, and they are five under as a team. Sheesh. What's he playing off of? I can tell you right now,
Starting point is 00:45:21 so I'm kind of good-looking swing in the videos I've seen. That's, that's a, he's playing off 10. Okay. I mean, it's no joke. Still a lot of golf.
Starting point is 00:45:33 Ours are not easy, easing out there. Oxy from Deep on 18. Can I ask you this? Neil, did you think our, What were you expecting from our T-boxes? Did you think it was shorter or longer than you thought it might be on the amateur side?
Starting point is 00:45:44 With the exception of number nine, it was longer. Number nine was the only pull. I was like, oh, we're way up here. But everywhere else, I was like, oh, we're, you know, 10 was one box up. Yeah, I was surprised to see you guys so far back on 10. What club do you have in there? What do you have in 10? You had like a punchy one.
Starting point is 00:46:00 Yeah, we had seven iron. Yes, it was one. It was a good shot. Close to enough club, though. That was a good shot in front of the game. Great lag pot. It was good. I thought it was 10 feet short.
Starting point is 00:46:10 Oh, 10 inches right. Which on that one, the wind was... Guys, Scotty Sheffler is... Scotty Sheffler is now over par for the day. I think he's... He's running a hot. I'll ask you, does Scotty have a Thursday problem? Do we need to talk about it?
Starting point is 00:46:28 I feel like this is good protection about any of you guys giving me flack for how poorly I played today if Scotty's going to be plus one. Yeah, agree. How are the greens rolling out there? Extremely true. They are rolling.
Starting point is 00:46:42 Fantastic. Yeah. It's one of those. Like you see where your putt is, you know, several feet out and you're like that you know whether or not it's going in. It's, we're back.
Starting point is 00:46:52 Especially when, especially when they're putting. It's just like, oh, my, how could you? That's why I was so shocked. Mab missed his puds.
Starting point is 00:46:58 Do you have their stats handy? Like Mav's Shoroskin approach today. I can get him for you. That'd be awesome. I think Mav. I'm not even sure he gained on the greens. He didn't. he lost on the greens. What?
Starting point is 00:47:09 He's out 67 losing strokes on the greens? Yeah, he lost almost a full shot. Yeah, those two putts on seven and eight. He was 30th off the T, 32nd approach, 11th around the green and 53rd in putting. Granted, that's over two courses. They have shot link over on the other one, though. Yeah, they're how easy with playing.
Starting point is 00:47:29 We're like, man, they played great. I don't believe it. It's like, okay. That hell do I know. Yeah, it seemed like that one should have been like a 60th. 65 for him. Minimum 65 and could have been 64. He had a great run to his put on 9 as well.
Starting point is 00:47:43 I mean, that would have been, he could have very easily shot 29 on, on our back nine, the real front nine. Greens are small. I mean, well,
Starting point is 00:47:53 some of the greens have been expanded, but you get up on 4. It's just like, this green is so small, so tilted. The effective size of 14. Yes. Like shocked me.
Starting point is 00:48:02 I mean, if they've expanded it, but it's still, there's so much of that green that's not actually green. That was the new green on 10. It was great. So they have the pin back in the new spot there on 10,
Starting point is 00:48:12 and it feels completely, completely different than it ever has. And, I mean, you know, it's good. Some of the expansion they're doing, it doesn't feel that different. But I was surprised they went straight back to that spot for that first day one and day two whole locations.
Starting point is 00:48:27 It'll be in a similar spot again for the spyglass players that flip over to that one. But they got us pretty far back on six, too. I mean, we're only one box up from, the new tea that's across the road. So I'm wondering if that, is that the old pro tea? They're trying to improve the shot value for the
Starting point is 00:48:46 two boxes up there. Because we hit driver and that's, it was kind of pinched in. Like we could have hit driving iron there. Yeah. I was floating around the range. I heard a lot of the amateurs complaining about architectural intent and kind of restoring for sure.
Starting point is 00:49:00 Those shop values. I'm glad that they did that. I actually watched Fred Perpaul. The president of the USGA. play that hole earlier. Yeah, he was playing with Pop-Eater. Potkeeter's dad might be
Starting point is 00:49:15 the biggest alpha out here. You were stoked to see him on the range today. Did Potkeeter lose a bunch of weight? He looked spelt. He did. Yeah, I don't know. I saw that too. I don't like Push. We saw Push. You were killing me for my shot on 17. I'll be honest, I didn't see where it ended up. It just wasn't a good shot. It wasn't.
Starting point is 00:49:31 Yeah. A couple grooves low. Six grooves low. I'm a contact guy. I watch the contact. Oh my God, that was trash. Daughter, pitting less than driver on 18. Yeah, I saw that. I don't know if he's going to be behind the tree.
Starting point is 00:49:44 I thought that was driver. Was that a mini driver? All right, Scotty. It only went 215. I think it was driver. You want to call this one for us, Neil? Lynn, see if he hates the kids or not. He used to rise up.
Starting point is 00:49:55 He needs to get himself calm down and do this for the kids. I've definitely never played somewhere where the wind plays so heavy for how light it can feel. Like the actual effect. it has on the ball out near the coastline. It's crazy. Quite good. All right. Now are we going to be pressing on that pot? Because we need it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:17 Pressing because he needs a birdie or pressing because it's for the kids. Wow. That's a minute. One plus one equals three. There's your guy killer shirt. What do you think of this shirt? T.C.? This guy's playing golf. I don't know. I've seen this swing. Ten is. That visors riding high up on the head there. I think that's a good kid. I like
Starting point is 00:50:35 I like that kid. Yeah. I don't. I don't. Again, I don't think I could wear it, but I like how it looks. Do we have an Aaron Rogers situation going with Travis Kelsey right now? It's interesting. We could. Larry Fitzgerald as well. Maybe it's an NFL thing. That's interesting.
Starting point is 00:50:48 The integrity of the shield is being questioned. Interesting. That's all I'm going to say. Tomorrow sports got chosen to run the NFL's flag football league. Interesting. Didn't see that. I did not know that was a possible thing. I don't even know what that means.
Starting point is 00:51:04 I did not know the NFL had a flag football thing. Also, that is induced to me. Guys, we're in commercial here. I prepared some Who Am I questions. Do you guys want to play this? Who Am I I game? Love this game. Okay, so here's the idea. So each one has a varying amount of clues between six and seven
Starting point is 00:51:21 clues, five, six, seven clues. The goal is you only get one guess. Okay. So you don't get to, you want to guess in the fewest amount of guesses. Fears amount of clues. Yeah, a fewest amount of clues. But once you guess, if you're wrong, you're out. Okay. Do you want to do the first one? Sure. Okay. Are you looking at my computer?
Starting point is 00:51:37 No. There's so much glare. Check the tape on that one, guys. I'm in the field this year, and I finished top 20 at this event in four of the last five years. Okay. Does anybody want to guess? Wait, what's the downside if you missed your guess? You're out. Oh.
Starting point is 00:51:56 D.C. doesn't play by the first. I have a thought. I'll just keep going to. But I'm going to hold. I have a thought. I have only finished in the top 10 in one major. In fact, I've missed the cut at more majors than I've made the cut. Taylor Pendrith.
Starting point is 00:52:10 You're out. Nick Taylor You're out I'll hold TC will hold Now you can just hold At this year's Sony open I dropped out of the top 100 in the world
Starting point is 00:52:21 For the first time in four years I'll hold I grew up at a golf course That shares a name With a famous Cohen Brothers movie I hear it feels lighten up You know he's in a blender right now Do they have it in the comments yet Cody
Starting point is 00:52:42 I'm out Yeah I don't know I appreciate the game much. This is a good one from TC. I won the Minnesota Amateur Back to Back Years 2009 and 2010.
Starting point is 00:52:56 Who's from Minnesota? Where is he from Minnesota? Oh, I got it. I think. I won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am in 22 by two shots over Jordan Speeth. Yeah, got it. I still don't know.
Starting point is 00:53:12 Yes, you do. This is an indictment, T.C. Hose? Chase, you got it? Oh, Hogecoin. Yeah. Yeah. I went to TCU.
Starting point is 00:53:20 My name is Tom Hoaguer. Last clue. Fargo Country Club. I thought maybe I could get you. I was thinking Fargo, but I wasn't thinking, yeah. Yeah. That was like a Jeopardy element. How's Tom playing today?
Starting point is 00:53:32 Actually, not bad. He's T-18. Minus five at Pebble. All right. That's better than what he let on in the ring. I know. I think I had him right around 18. I think he was just trying to get rid of it.
Starting point is 00:53:42 I think he was. No, you don't want me to talk at the show. I'm not hitting it. He was thrilled to see me. He was trying to. He was like, what's going on in there? He wanted it in.
Starting point is 00:53:52 66. I think we got a guest coming in. I believe we have a guest coming in. Do you want me to move over there? No, it's fine. No, it's fine. Yeah, we're receiving word. The guest will be in shortly.
Starting point is 00:54:04 I have a feeling I'm about to get a lot more flack because I believe the guest visited visited me during the worst part of the round today. Oh, I hate that. Yeah. Well, again, we're doing a bit of a watch along here. If you are watching with us just to help you time it up, I'm looking at Bol- or Andrew Novak, hitting his second shot on the ninth hole here just to help time it up.
Starting point is 00:54:23 Hello, sir. And it would not be a PGA tour broadcast without bringing in the CEO of the title sponsor of the event. Mr. John Stanky. Hello, welcome back to the show. Hello, everybody. How are we all doing today? Good to see again. I was talking to Tron earlier.
Starting point is 00:54:37 I was like, I feel like Jim Nansor. Can you stick around and watch some golf with us here? A little golf with us. Did you get to watch some golf today? I got a little bit in. Not a lot, but a little bit. Yeah. What did you see?
Starting point is 00:54:48 Anything good? I think I brought Maverick, too, of his birdies. So I didn't, I should totally should be following them for all 18. A lot of people try to take credit for those birdies on the show right now. Of course, I guess I also brought you a couple of problems too, didn't it? I knew that was coming. I knew that was coming. Man, if we wanted shots like that, I would have played.
Starting point is 00:55:07 I know, I know. Bring it on. I'll take it. I'll take it. I put my watt ball in the water on four all the time. We need to bring you in to do that. I know Mab's going to stuff it. I know he's going to make,
Starting point is 00:55:18 but I was trying to make it two on four. I pulled out driver trying to be aggressive. Strategy with strategy with sad. I backed that play. Yeah. We're hitting driver again. Yeah. Bad swing.
Starting point is 00:55:28 Yeah. Just a little, yeah, little slighty. And then I step up on six and hit the shot that I wanted to hit on four. Like we just, we didn't match it out over. It was a day of over compensation back before a lot of that.
Starting point is 00:55:38 So you were complicit in this with him? No, I was. No, I was, I was showing, when is the team? When is the team?
Starting point is 00:55:44 When is the team? People are trying to blame my guy. guy kneel and i'm not going to let it happen i'm not going to hit driver on three and that paid off that did you hit driver today on three did i was hit john that was literally came right over the top of my head i was getting ready to pull three but in nav like the only time no show today guys sorry sorry only time mav pulled me off a shot today was then he was like no driver ship it hit as far left as you can i did not know that uh john well we were standing over there and we said okay well the amateurs are getting ready to hit and
Starting point is 00:56:13 it's possible somebody tries to take this line, didn't know who was hitting first because it was blind. And sure enough, one goes whizzing over the top of the head, you know, but it was a good 10 yards past us. And I said, I wonder who it's going to be. Busted again. That was my,
Starting point is 00:56:28 I think my best club of the day because I was like, I think he should hit driver. And then Russ's caddy, Andy came over. He was like, it's driver. You got plenty of room left. I was like,
Starting point is 00:56:37 made me feel some confidence. Neil, I love that. Again, Neil was a great caddy. I would love to give you some flack if I could. but you were an excellent, excellent caddy. Stayed out of the way.
Starting point is 00:56:47 Great, two great rake jobs. Absolutely fantastic. Did you get critiqued by your other caddy partners there? I did your caddy. Sean was out with us. He knows how to rake a trap. Yes, he does. Trust me, he gets a lot of practice with me.
Starting point is 00:57:01 Behind five, he was like, that's good work right there. He gets a lot of practice with me. Appreciate that. Yeah, all the caddies were shouting you out today. Well, they were looking after me. Gassing you up. I made a point on 10, our first tall, like guys just you permission to tell me to just F off if I'm in the way you know I'm new out
Starting point is 00:57:18 here so that I think they I think we were too out of the way at times like I I was every time that that I know Russ is trying like hey is this your line I'm like dude just please walk directly in my line I do not care didn't want to be a main character did not want to be TC I appreciated you gave me a compliment and when I scooped a I was a scooper today I was not going to go finish out after my guy was in the hole I don't know what the what the what the guidelines say about that when you're when you're bringing your pro's already in you got to pick up up, right? If you're not going to be helping, get the hell out. That's correct. John, we were just talking. You think it's over for Scotty here? Or do you think the runs over?
Starting point is 00:57:52 No, I don't think so. Yeah, I'm going to predict that. That's what you wanted to come on. You wanted to discuss how many majors? That's Neil's. Over under on 15. Well, what's your over under? What would you? Yeah, people think it's easy. What do you got? Oh, you on him? I don't know. The ceiling is so high right now. It's crazy. It's really high. We threw out, what did we throw out nine and a half after he got to three? Or was that after he got to four?
Starting point is 00:58:18 I think it was after he got to four. I think both he took the over. Yeah. Yeah. Which I didn't see. Well, now he's over. I didn't think he was going to shoot 73 in Phoenix. Now it's over, you know.
Starting point is 00:58:28 It was a great run. There seems to be a different mental state and how he plays right now. I don't know how you feel about it. He seems to be unfazed by a lot. Normally I'd agree. Today he looks phased. Last Thursday he looked phase, but also he's probably going to finish top five still, right? I mean, especially if the conditions, conditions get tough on the weekend.
Starting point is 00:58:51 And we were talking about on, you know, the other day or yesterday, I guess. It's like you start introducing all the elements and it's like he flights it better, he chips it better. He's, you know, he's still going to rise up. He's like water. But you forget he's played so well the past couple years that he does run hot. Yeah, when it doesn't go well. He can, you know, he gets hot under the collar. And so you haven't seen it in a while.
Starting point is 00:59:12 you forget that that's there it's almost more impressive it's like how do he keeps his emotions in check so well you ever play golf of them no no no we haven't we don't want to actually ruin his car right by having to see that swing you may get the yips or something like that who's the most impressive game you've seen in person you must play with a lot of you know a lot of impressive games i'm a hot game everybody wants to try to look they're all looking to get around with me oh i i thoroughly enjoy i know it's going to sound like like a Homer. I enjoy every time I get a chance to watch Jordan play just because of the creativity of how he goes out and hit shots. And it's just kind of fun to watch. You're in good company here, my friend. Yeah. I was talking about that before you got here. I was like, you know, this whole thing started as like a big group of golf fans. He's my favorite player. I don't know what to do. I'm going to shoehorn him into all the conversations. You guys talk about me too much. I'm not going to apologize. Yeah, I don't know what to tell you, man. It's we're going to keep talking about it. It's fun to stand on a T-box and have a hole that you may know at a particular course. and then hit maybe two or three shots and say,
Starting point is 01:00:16 you can play it this way or you can play it this way or you can play it this way and just watch it executed that way. It's kind of fun. Is that going to cover? Okay. Oh, my gosh, that was right on the sally line there. That might be even the divot I took a drop over there.
Starting point is 01:00:30 You didn't see me, that's not the only shot I hit into the Pacific today. You only saw half the shots I hit in the Pacific. I'm glad I was there for one of us. On nine. Almost a quick sleeve today. But where was the second one? on 18.
Starting point is 01:00:43 On 18? It bounced up top. We saw it bounce up top. I've done that too. Don't call that success. I'm saying I got up there a little bit. As far as I know, everybody said I had to hit another one after I did that. Have you done it still made par?
Starting point is 01:00:56 No. Okay. I have that one at least. It didn't matter. It didn't matter. I'm made Bernie anyways. That's a little, I mean, I've always been a Novak guy since the Rider Cup conversation. But man, you spend a little time with that guy.
Starting point is 01:01:09 You can kind of expand for life. on the pot yesterday. He was awesome. John, it looks like we lucked out. This is the first time I've ever been hot at Pebble Beach out there. I mean, this is an all-time weather for you. You weren't around yesterday, were you? We were in the morning. It was bleak.
Starting point is 01:01:25 It was a little bleak in the morning. It was a little bleak and a little windy and a little cool. How often do you, like, do you obsess on the weather? Is it the weather is just out of your hands and it is what it is? I obsess on the weather because if you just think about the dynamics, finishing on Sunday. Yeah. is pretty important to the construct of the sponsorship.
Starting point is 01:01:44 And if you go back and track it for like the last 12 years, it's about one out of three chances. It won't finish on Sunday, which is tough. And you think about the dynamics of not finishing on Sunday and the economic impact of that. It's like cutting off 25% of your value of the tournament. And there's no way to cover that. Tough when that's out of your hands.
Starting point is 01:02:03 So, yes, I have to pay attention to it. I light candles. I talk to everybody I know. and I still can't do a damn thing about it, but it feels like you can't say about it. I heard that this week was incredible here last week. Everyone said it was some of the best weather, but it was like,
Starting point is 01:02:18 if you're going to have bad couple days, might as well have it be Tuesday, Wednesday, because it is special out there right now. And as you know, it's pretty volatile here, so you don't know what Sunday's going to be until probably Saturday night. So it changes a lot. What's the change been like, you know,
Starting point is 01:02:34 a couple years into this, having a signature, having this event change into a signature event from your perspective, you know, what are some of those changes that look like and what's kind of been the downstream effect of these changes? Well, part of the motivation for doing this and why we wanted to participate and maybe an elevated level of play was want quality. And a combination of things had to happen.
Starting point is 01:02:57 One is obviously increasing the purse that people are competing for, which brings in, you know, more talent and people who want to play, but also getting the format right. right and we made some pretty significant changes to the format trying to get the round times down. Well, how long did it take you to play today? About five. 445, 450, I think it was. So that's better than six. And then by the weekend when the amateurs are out and everybody's playing pebble,
Starting point is 01:03:22 they'll be down to, you know, four and a half, four 15. So that was pretty important. Gets the players in. We think the construct we have right now is a really good one. And so elevating the quality of the play, want to make it an event that people think about as being, you know, this is a really important golf tournament at a great venue, which the Bellw Beach company does a wonderful job setting this up.
Starting point is 01:03:45 So it feels like it's got the right elements now. Last year it executed really well. If you recall, it was the first tournament that kind of got and broke the rating cycle on the tour decline. It actually did, you know, year over year improvement. And then things kind of started to springboard off of that. So hopefully we've got the same. formula for this year. The weather cooperates and we see good things. Best players in the world should play at Pebble Beach.
Starting point is 01:04:10 I agree with that. That's the, that's the, that's just the bottom line of it. Also, I had some of I was talking with JJ over at Monterey Peninsula last night was just the taking it from three golf courses to two. When you're talking about that weather element that you have there, I mean, if you think back to three years ago, it was one green at Monterey Peninsula that got out of hand that caused the downstream effect that they went all the way to. I think that ended up being a Monday finish or they, I think you got it in Sunday. but like the fact that you have three golf courses that you got to have play you know
Starting point is 01:04:39 that have to fit in the weather you know minimum standard and now you only have two that has to help things when we when we're doing the format evaluation one of got feedback from players that said like don't mind playing two courses don't like playing three yeah it's not it's no disrespect to any other courses it's just they got to prep three caddy's got to go out They got to spend their time getting to know what's going on. So they said, happy to do too. And love having the pro-am's construct, but don't want to do the amateur construct on the weekends when we're kind of getting down to the ground and everybody's got to play. So those are big changes that were made and they weren't without a little bit of emotion and discussion.
Starting point is 01:05:21 But I think net net where we stand, it's a better event as a result of that. That's what it seems like. Going back to it, though, I do think Pebble Beach is like a resume course. Like we were going back and forth on like you look back Justin Rose or Adam Scott. You almost like did they win at pebble right? You know, with Rose winning in pebble, that's that features to me. It's a bullet. Whether it's the US Open or AT&T.
Starting point is 01:05:43 It's like that's a that's a resume piece. It's one of the big reasons John said Scott he's done. You know, he hasn't. For sure. I don't want to put words in his mouth. I'm pretty sure he said that earlier. Neil, where did you have bits on the on the big board? TC got on me because I was fading him a little bit this week.
Starting point is 01:06:00 T-10. Okay. What is that? 66 for him? That's 66 for him for Matt Fitzpatrick. It's spyglass. This is like literally. It's impressive.
Starting point is 01:06:08 Isn't it? Uh, yes. Where'd you hit from there? Oh, you hit it up by the green. Yeah, hit three wood.
Starting point is 01:06:15 That was good shot. Up and down, right? Yeah. Thank you. Thank you out. Thank you. God, up the ceiling just seems like it's 64 right now.
Starting point is 01:06:24 Every time he tees it up. John, since, uh, we saw you last last year. How's, how's your golf game? Improved. What are we working on?
Starting point is 01:06:32 It depends on what part of the year you want to talk about. I can get a little bit of everything. It's like Jacqueline. I was doing well at the end of the year. Last couple weeks, it's like I can't even find a fair way. Struggling off the tea. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:06:43 struggling off tea. And yeah. Here we are. The brother of the tea struggles. And so now I've got to go in for some surgery. And I'm blaming everything on that. I should think of that. I didn't think about that.
Starting point is 01:06:56 Yeah. Well, when you get to my age, you can easily come up with those excuses. I'm getting my golf game is approaching the point. need to find an injury to blame it on. Come talk to me, bro. I got you. It's a different part of my back every single day, man.
Starting point is 01:07:10 You were healthy all 18 today. Yeah. No injuries. No injuries today. No excuses. Nothing. No wrist issue. Nothing.
Starting point is 01:07:16 I didn't hear any, any complaining about the body from you. It's a lot easier when it's just limited to your back when it starts to move into all the other joints. I was a little worried about that divot on 16. Getting in there with the wrist. Your own divot. For that own divot. To be clear.
Starting point is 01:07:31 but we survived that one. Wyndham Clark, winter at Pebble Beach. Did you see the hole out earlier? Well, I forget the guy, the guy's name is from Monterey Peninsula. Demo? No. He dunked it, slam dunk on 16th. I heard it.
Starting point is 01:07:45 I was standing right over there when it happened. Is that what occurred? Yeah, that's exactly what happened. Blue. Shucks. The guy from T-Mobile just missed one. The lockers are beginning to sweat here at Pebble Beach. It's like poetic justice.
Starting point is 01:08:04 I went over to hit some balls today. I snuck away, so I've walked over to the range to do it. And of course, nobody wants to have me around. So they've kind of ushering me over to one side of the range. And this area, you hit over here out of the way. And who do I pull in next to? But Wyndham Clark is sitting, and I've got my AT&T bag. He's sitting there with this T-Mobile stuff.
Starting point is 01:08:26 And I said, this just doesn't go that way. It shouldn't be that way. Got her up. Got her to finish off the round. I don't know why. There's a lot of suspense. I think he was going to make that. Those putts are not going to be missed right now in these conditions.
Starting point is 01:08:46 But we're out there yesterday. When the wind's blowing, like the four footers feel impossible. Yeah. Like this, this golf course is just, I mean, this is obvious. But the, speak of the Jekyll and Hyde, I mean, it's just as easy as it gets about right now. And then we were out there yesterday. It was impossible.
Starting point is 01:09:02 We played a couple holes with big tone last night here as, as Finals finishing up here on and I mean good round I had him pretty far down the I had him pretty far down the board it looks like a wise choice for a sponsor exemption there at minus eight didn't you say that's well done
Starting point is 01:09:18 well done who were the sponsor exemptions this year um let's see Tony was one Keith Mitchell Keith Mitchell uh ended up getting one and the fourth was um
Starting point is 01:09:29 uh oh Billy Horshul that's right yeah that's your only mistake sorry I love you Billy I'm kidding what does go billy's played very well yeah historically it seems like yeah the the beluga was was kind of slagging billy i thought he's good course fit here sure i just didn't you know the model said i didn't feel it this guy's trusting his guy's in middle of the pack t39 yeah well scott he's gonna hit this shot now let's hope he doesn't fall in the pacific when he's
Starting point is 01:09:56 let's see i don't think oh we got he's not hitting first hadecke first to play so is that kind of right where your famous shot was from No, I was up a lot far than that. No, I was playing I was playing the green tea. That fits my natural shot shit. They're of a very weak-ass fate. This is a signature event now, Dege.
Starting point is 01:10:18 They set this up way harder for the amateurs. I will say, I commend you on a proper setup for the AMs this week. The only tea we were way up on was nine. Otherwise, it was proper setup. Makes Travis Kelsey even more impressive. For sure. Running away.
Starting point is 01:10:34 It is wild. You get to seven. and it's like, it's 90? Like the number's 90? Yeah, less than 100. Yeah, can't gun it again. The pros are only 106? Like, what? Neil, what chance does he get this on the green?
Starting point is 01:10:48 241. 20% chance? 10% chance? 30 for him. Oh, he's holding on. Oh, man. Oh, solid. We know that shot right there.
Starting point is 01:11:00 Oh, he's up there further. That's going to be easy. Where did Rory finish? Four under? That sounds right. Four under. glass t28 right now where was he last year first round of spike oh good question you have to get the have to get cody's first this first day was his spyglass last year we
Starting point is 01:11:19 struggled to remember who wins the tournaments in the prior years i do not remember the Thursday you guys are usually pretty good on that stuff isn't this isn't this your guys's job sitting there and they're talking about stuff five years ago oh who remembers five years ago he did hit us who won the rsm and i was like oh it was like three tournaments ago and i did the pod after. I could not remember who won. Rory won last year in case you're one. I do remember that. I just don't remember where he was. And then win him before that.
Starting point is 01:11:45 All right, commercial. Should we do another Who Am I? You want to do a Who Am I game with us? I'm going to run down the clues. If you make a guess and you're wrong, you're out. But you're trying to get it before anybody else. I'll give you guys an easy one. I was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, but I went to high school in New Jersey where I played basketball and golf.
Starting point is 01:12:07 Got her up. You're out. Oh, I was going to guess that. We can move on. Okay. One of my college roommates is a major champion. No, I'm nowhere close. Mono and mono match play situation.
Starting point is 01:12:27 One more. I appear in the movie Tin Cup. Oh. Oh, careful. Oh, good player. Chili, Depple-Jans and Zass. A lot of pros in that movie. It's got to be older person.
Starting point is 01:12:42 That is in the second part of their career. Keep going. I wrote my first book in 2008 with a forward by President George H.W. Bush. Guys are in a blender. That is so easy for that seat. I'm not in the ballpark right now. All right. You're going to get on the last one.
Starting point is 01:13:04 This was an easy one. Let's see who this is an easy one. Let's see who can get it first. When the U.S. Open was at Pebble Beach in 2019, I became the only person to ever commentate on all four of golf's majors. The chat got it already? Okay. I'm out.
Starting point is 01:13:22 2019 was commentating U.S. Open would have been. Is it Fox? It was Fox? Is it a non-golfer? No. I mean, he plays golfers.
Starting point is 01:13:34 I never said, I never said it was professional golfers. Jim Nance. That's it. It is, you guys said it was pro-golfer. I never said it was pro-golfer. Jim Nance was born in North Carolina.
Starting point is 01:13:44 Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, went to school in New Jersey. I had no idea. According to Wikipedia. According to Wikipedia. Shout to everybody in the comments. That's great to know.
Starting point is 01:13:52 That was a great question. Thanks. Doctors a woman. I can't operate out this dog. It was my son. Yeah. Oh, exactly. Born in North Carolina.
Starting point is 01:14:00 I didn't know that. I didn't say it was a golfer. You guys convinced you. I was worried about the roommates a major champion, but I knew I had you guys throw. Yeah. No, that was really good. That was a great, great question.
Starting point is 01:14:10 Well, that's true. Yeah. It all comes to do. It all checks out. Circling back with the Rory information from Lashor. Open with 66 at SpyRoll. at SpyRise. Including that hole in one that we famously just missed.
Starting point is 01:14:22 So close. We were so close. We were one hole away. One hole away. Like, I think we could watch someone else. Yeah. Patrick Rogers,
Starting point is 01:14:30 eight under where'd you have him on the board? In the 50s, I think. You guys didn't like that one. All the Stanford. All the Stanford vibes. No, I thought you said you had the home game models,
Starting point is 01:14:41 had him up farther, I thought. I'd have to check the tape. It's a lot of names. You say a lot of things. Who could say. I don't have the big board up right now. Scotty, I'd love to see a birdie or maybe even just hold this bumper.
Starting point is 01:14:57 I could hold out. Yeah, I could see that. Although the rake job doesn't look very. Was that yours? I had nothing to do with that, John. It looks like a pretty bad rake job. Poor guy. I will say, Neil also, I hit my third shot in a green side bunker on eight,
Starting point is 01:15:12 and Neil did make me go get the ball and rake it myself, which is fair. Almost. There we go. Well, you were picking up. I was kind of like, yeah, I might, you know, late in the round. That's your penance. He was trying to do a demo there, trying to fly it in. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:24 I got super anxious, though, just having to rake that myself. And then I was, I was Afton Greller about it on Tuesday. We were with Jordan and Michael Greller. And I was like, I candidly, I was like, Michael, the only thing I'm worried about is a bad rake job. Like, can you show me? And he's such a technician. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:40 You know, it's light with the, you don't want to have trenches. That was his thing. He's like, everyone thinks you want to have, like, you know, amateurs think like it's a deep trench. It's very light on the sand. It's pretty similar to how I have to grip my driver. It's very light with the right hand. I believe it. The tube of toothpaste, right?
Starting point is 01:15:57 You don't want to squeeze any toothpaste out. You had Rogers at 39, if I saw correctly. Oh, okay. That sounds like that. Pretty well done. Middle of the pack. That was a sick bunker shot from it. That was. Abelis, is that how you say it? David Abelis?
Starting point is 01:16:10 He has his new tailor-made wedges that he's playing with. In case you're wondering. I always tripped myself up. Abelis? Abelis? I'm not sure. Where you had on that one? Commenters. All you got to do to find an answer on the internet, just say the wrong thing.
Starting point is 01:16:27 All right. John, I'll put you on the spot. Pick to win this week? Well, it's clearly going to be one of the two AT&T golfers. It's not going to be Wyndham Clark. We know that. Yeah. Well, let's hope.
Starting point is 01:16:40 I, you know, I really want, before I, you know, hang things up to be able. to hand a trophy to somebody who we sponsor in this particular event that would complete my run and it might make a lot of people really happy because I'm not going to retire until it happens if you don't want to retire then yeah you know you need to not go make sure you don't sponsor more players than you want to eventually check the box on this and hand the trophy to somebody that that's on the payroll could be a like an NFL one-day contract situation yeah that's a thought I hadn't thought about someone runs away and you know they're leading by six maybe for the course for the course call their agent that right can we sign a one-year deal get him a towel on their
Starting point is 01:17:22 towel on their bag yeah get the sevi at the 86 masters sure why not what are they what are they paid you for that hat you know wear this hat today it's encouraging to see the way both jordan and maverick are playing today so you never know so for as much money as you guys put up for signature event you should be able to put your hat on the on the on the winner coming up 18 Yeah, it's a good point. We'll take that up with Brian. It's really a really good idea. I feel like he'd be down for that.
Starting point is 01:17:49 Yeah. For a fee. Yeah. I think everything's on the table right now. There'll be an incremental charge on it. But yeah. It's going to be a super signature of it. Maybe he'll give you the interstertial on the bottom of the screen.
Starting point is 01:18:04 Keegan's sneaky eight underpart as well. Over a spyglass too, right? That's a spot. Wow. Wow. A couple holes left. Saved his energy on Spyglass the other day. I remember he was playing behind us.
Starting point is 01:18:15 Almost hit Jordan with that T shot and then kind of just walked off. Because Neil was taking, right. He just domed us. They were playing slow. Come on, Scotty. Make it.
Starting point is 01:18:24 I'd love it to be a clean 10, you know, when he comes back and wins. He was down 10 on Thursday. There we go. There we got one. That was one thing I was super conscious of today was making sure not to walk in front of cameras. I was actually thinking about that too.
Starting point is 01:18:38 That's hard to do. On 17, I felt like I was in front of a camera and I made a point to move over. Well, it's not just the cameras you have to pay attention to. You don't want to block any logoed bags either from the cameras. Of course. You have to pay attention to. It's a very good point. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:52 You have to pay a lot of careful thoughts of those things. Scotty, yeah, not a lot of juice coming from Team Sheffler right now. What do you think, Neil? You go to the range. If you're his catty, what are you telling them? I think Scott is definitely going to the range. What are you telling them if you're Ted Scott? You know, you've been in this game for a while.
Starting point is 01:19:11 I'm going to wait for him to react. That's first things first. I'm not going to say anything until he says something to me. How do you think? We know where it's going to start, right? It's going to start with the grip. It's true. Lighten it up.
Starting point is 01:19:22 It'll start to work on the grip. I mean, he would have to turn and say, what do you think? Hey, man, what do you think? Before I'm saying anything after that round. What do I think about what? Yeah. Beautiful day. Yeah, I think of weather's great.
Starting point is 01:19:32 We got another shot tomorrow. Who's got a better. Who's got a better than us, bro? Let me get you an uncrustable. Let's go to the range. What's the rest of the week look like for you? Hopefully sunny and warm. That's what I'm hoping for.
Starting point is 01:19:49 We've got, as you know, we bring in a lot of customers this week. You know, we're missing one. That's why you got a chance to play the general from the Brazilian army. I was going to say the Brazilian. I was just about to say the resilience didn't make it. So we put him in the spot. So it would be a little bit lighter because I don't have to worry about him now that the general is in here. but uh that's this a deep cut people are going to be so good to be great great deep cut one of my
Starting point is 01:20:15 favorite you have new listeners this year who weren't around last night we might have last no we're we've got a lot of good things to do with our customers while we're here and maybe i'll get a chance to get out and play a little bit over the weekend we'll see what a shot there from golf channel geez greatest meeting of land and sea they call it neal you ever hear that i have heard that It's amazing what drones have done for us here, right? Yeah. Oh, my gosh. You get vantage points you've never seen before.
Starting point is 01:20:44 Oh. No, first time I came to this tournament was 2015, and we started doing no laying up in 2014. And so this, I was standing up on eight. And it was a bit of, I had a little full circle moment where I was like, how about that? You know, the 10, 11 years later, I'm standing on the edge of this cliff. Because I remember that. I drove down. Cliff hasn't moved.
Starting point is 01:21:04 Yeah. Well, you know, you're outside of the ropes. I don't know. never been here before, you didn't see much golf. And then I'm like, that's just kind of a, you know, kind of a, how cool is this? How cool is this? And then you had a selfie up there on top of eight. And then you were in your pocket and made double and we're back to normal.
Starting point is 01:21:20 I might have got that up and down with that new. No, but it's, it's such a striking piece of property. It's awesome that corner up there with seven. It's hard to overrate that. You know, you almost want to be like, oh, you know, seven's not that good. And then you stand, God, this is unbelievable. I think it's a great hole. I mean, standing on that fair way.
Starting point is 01:21:38 Seven, eight are just unreal. Hitting that second shot on eight in is just, that's a special place in golf. Pebbles at its best when it gets a little funky. Like eight has fun. I mean, you're hitting 14 up from the T-box. And I forget what it is down from the fairway, but it's at least 10 down. Yeah, yeah. From when you get up there.
Starting point is 01:21:56 And I get my book. I mean, yeah, you get to, I mean, go up the hill in 11. I mean, that's just a funky little hole. And there's so much elevation change from that tea up to that. fairway as well and up to that green it just three is so funky that's why i had to blow it way left over there because it's just so it looks like that fairway runs like perpendicular to uh the line you would take off the tea it's uh it's a lot of fun it really is a lot of fun all i can think with that that that line you keep talking about on three is dustin johnson 2010 then where he hit it didn't he hit
Starting point is 01:22:28 it way left on three he did a lot of things in 2010 what was that was it was it number two was the like double chip or the like kind of went right under it and then three i think he did he did drove it like a mile left. I've seen a couple people play it off of 14. Yeah. Going too far left. I don't know if that she was trying to do. Not a bad spot to be.
Starting point is 01:22:44 I think it was Saturday of 2000 U.S. Open. Tiger made seven on three. On three? Yeah. And then he won by 15. He made a triple and still won the tournament by 15 shots. But he had a whiff. Not a fair fight. Speaking of three, there's Goddra.
Starting point is 01:23:03 I'm going to guess this is a birdie. What do you guys think? If it's not an eagle. I mean, low key almost made, that's two that he almost hold there, they're in 16. Like it could have been 62. He's just hit the absolute after burners.
Starting point is 01:23:18 Hmm. How about Fienow? Oh, Kegan, another birdie for Kegan at SpyGlass. I can, I can report that the flame emoji just kicked on on the PJ Tour website. So we're going to have to talk to CC about that.
Starting point is 01:23:30 That's exciting stuff. For who? He gets a big kick out of that whenever the, uh, whenever the flame emoji pops up. Yeah, yeah. What will you do the rest of the week?
Starting point is 01:23:38 Do you watch most of the golf out there on the course? Do you watch it on TV? I don't see a lot of it, to be honest with you, because of different things that are scheduled and going from place to place. I get a couple hours usually each day, walk and get a little exercise. But it's better to catch it on TV, especially about the time I get to Sunday. That'd be a pretty exciting get to have Travis Kelsey here this week. Yeah, it's very exciting to see.
Starting point is 01:24:02 How do you play today? Anybody know? Concerningly well is kind of what I would say. Concerningly well? He's just playing. a lot. Well, I know Keith was what, two over? Is that right? He, Keith had a tough, they, they finished at five under par of their team. And I think Keith shot two over or something like that. Okay. So, so we played fire. Yeah. Yeah. Good move. We saw him on TV. Key 20. 10 or T34. We got some more. Middle of the pack. Yeah. Yeah. Middle of the pack.
Starting point is 01:24:33 It's going to be, it's just, it's going to be tough to, tough to compete out there. We had the easier course today, too. That was that was not our best effort Keegan's taking the lead there he goes speaking of speaking of there you go what a round another birdie taking the lead in the amateur leader board I should say Keegan that's okay
Starting point is 01:24:54 Keegan and Meeker I'm gonna guess Mary Meeker Meeker yeah be now and Ryan Smith T2 11 under they were out there grinding they were a little whiskey loop last night Ryan was hitting three or four balls
Starting point is 01:25:09 in each spot they are he might know that that little whiskey loop one, two, three. Probably pretty well. Yeah, 18 and 18 pretty well. Given where he spends time. Yeah, I think that's, I think that's probably right.
Starting point is 01:25:20 Yeah, when you have multiple houses in that region, probably probably spend a fair amount of time there. Yeah. Should we do another, who am I, Dege? You want to? I'm happy to. Cody, you got something? Well, I think we're rounding.
Starting point is 01:25:37 I'm getting the signal here. The wrapper signal. John, I think, to access us. But for the second year row. I go to double time after four. Yeah. Thank you again for joining us. This week's an awesome week for us.
Starting point is 01:25:49 We really appreciate all the hospitality. And you coming through the show, it's truly special. It's my pleasure to drop in, and we were delighted to have you out here. So anytime, you guys are great. Love your show. What you do for golf. Well, thank you very much. Thanks for popping in.
Starting point is 01:26:04 Well, Cody, maybe we throw it to the quiz video. This is kind of Who Am I adjacent. We have, you know, you see these videos on the internet a lot, kind of one person. We had our offsite this week walking around, kind of asking some trivia questions. We did that with the rest of the team. So Cody, we can maybe play that video. We'll swap TC back in, and we'll be back momentarily.
Starting point is 01:26:23 All right, here with Ben, Ben, how many teeth does the average adult human have? Oh, God. 26. I feel like I'm going to do the chat. No. 38. No, sorry.
Starting point is 01:26:39 All right. Hey, TC, TC. 32. Really? He rocked them. Okay, Matt. 28. No, sorry.
Starting point is 01:26:55 What? How many teeth? Are you counting them? 30. Close. All right, this is Drew. 26. 28?
Starting point is 01:27:12 Only one guess. Those are both wrong. All right. We're here in the resident. Yeah, I moved in. Neil, how many teeth does an adult human being have? I want to say 32. Fuck yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:25 Good. Yeah. Hi, Sally. Hey, what's up each? 32. That's exactly right. Fuck. We got it.
Starting point is 01:27:36 Okay. I've got three kids that are teething. Actually, I've looked at many charts lately. I would not have known that two years ago. What does the J and Mary J. Belage stand for? Not a clue in the world. Julia. No.
Starting point is 01:27:50 Julia? No. Sorry, good guess. No. Not really, actually. I don't know. Jordan? No, good guess.
Starting point is 01:28:00 Mary Jordan Blatch. Oh, I have no idea. Jesus. Shockingly, no, that's not great. Jay. No, good guess. What is that? What is that?
Starting point is 01:28:14 Nothing. These are just interstitial. Okay. Nothing. Jay. Someone else guessed that. No, that's wrong. Gene?
Starting point is 01:28:22 So close. No. What is? Jane. Okay, that's good. Jeanette. No. Jane. Maybe throw that one out. Nobody got that one right. What is the only U.S. state that only borders one other state?
Starting point is 01:28:43 It's not Seattle. That's a city. See, that's perfect for this. Maine? Correct. Let's go. We got one, baby. Rhode Island? Rhode Island?
Starting point is 01:29:07 No, that's what Cody said. No? Sorry. Thank you, man. What? Mean? You're on the board. Give me a sec. Can I have a sec?
Starting point is 01:29:21 Ideally, you know, use your best gentleman, don't be a scumbag. Mean. Two for three. Thank you, T.C. That's it? That's it. Oh, gosh. Delaware.
Starting point is 01:29:34 No. Sorry. Let's see, it's not. I was going to say Maine, but I know it's not Maine. I don't know. It's Maine? Apparently. Do you have a time limit here? Don't be a scum back.
Starting point is 01:29:48 Maine? Two for three. Pretty good. Pretty good. Mary Jane Blotch. Okay. Wow. Did not know that?
Starting point is 01:29:57 Not any other. There you go. A little bit of just general knowledge. I don't know. It was a culture building thing, Neil, you know? For sure. You know, a little team. culture building here as we are continuing our watch along. We see the great man, Keegan Bradley.
Starting point is 01:30:13 Hey, that's like it carried away. In the 18th fairway over at Spyglass playing the hot, just a, I was fading Keegan hard on the Beluga big board. So this is, I mean, speak to me to two on this whole just an hour ago. This looks like it's probably good again. Zipping back. Oh my God. He's going to make that for sure to get to 10 under and tie the lead. two on spy. I hope Kagan wins. Come on. Really?
Starting point is 01:30:38 I mean, it's, I shouldn't say, like, above anybody. I wouldn't be, I wouldn't be, I wouldn't be bummed.
Starting point is 01:30:44 That's a fun story. Keegan wins. We had a, I had a segment prepared for yesterday that we didn't get to, like three players playing better than you think, and three players sneaky, not playing well.
Starting point is 01:30:52 Number one on my list was Keegan Bradley, so I'm really glad. I'm not playing well. I'm not playing well. I'm really glad we did not get to that one. All things must pass, you know. What were your stats there?
Starting point is 01:31:01 Well, of course, we're dealing with a small sample. even smaller this year with no Coppaluah. But MC at the Sony, T-43 at the Farmers, was 13th at the Hero back in December. That's only a 20-person field. That's all of us starts since the Tour Championship
Starting point is 01:31:14 and has been just barely above-average strokes gained since then. I do not have the TGL stats pumped in you. This has been the case. I hate this. I haven't heard a lot from the squad on Sahith. I was told he was back. He's on the bad side of the draw. I was told I should be shaking in my boots.
Starting point is 01:31:32 again, one of my favorite players. Love them, but just can't trust it. Can't trust it. I know the form's been there the past three weeks, but I just didn't feel good about this one. The eye test, man. You know what? You're bearing the lead on the trivia that we did.
Starting point is 01:31:48 The president that speaks English as a second language. I thought this one was too hard. I was so impressed by that, that you got that? The question was, who's the only U.S. president to ever speak English as a second language? And So I was like, oh, I got it. like, so I got it immediately. So fast.
Starting point is 01:32:03 I just thought of the most foreign name president. And do we ever find out what the other language was? It's Martin Van Buren was the answer. I would assume Dutch. I don't know. But somebody would have to look into that for me. But you, it is surprising because I don't know things.
Starting point is 01:32:18 I truly, I don't know like a lot of things. No, you and T.C. Like, have been, well, it's been good with random knowledge. More sports wise, but like just.
Starting point is 01:32:27 Thank you, Neil. Like, dumb sports. Like, when I, first met Solly, we were on a ski trip. Literally for like three days, all these guys did was just sit in the hot tub and name like, we pick a team and be like Arizona wildcats and it would just be like name athletes.
Starting point is 01:32:43 Guys, guys name and dudes. All right. Guys name and dudes. I got some guys name and dudes questions prepared. If you guys are ready, this is going to do stump the Schwab. You get one wrong. You're out. All right.
Starting point is 01:32:51 So each person you have to name one name. We'll start with Neil can go first. And then Sali and then Tron and then we'll loop it back. You miss one. You can't go. You're out. Question is 2025 PGA Tour. winners. Oh, okay. This is a great one.
Starting point is 01:33:03 Just did you win a PGA tour event in 2025? Scotty Schaeffler. Scottie Shephler's off the board. Roy McElroy. Brian Campbell. I was saving that one. Rory is off the board. Brian Campbell's off the board.
Starting point is 01:33:17 Back to Neil. Maverick McNeely. No. He didn't win last year. No. That was that was two years. That was RSM. Wow.
Starting point is 01:33:25 That was RSM. Yeah, we're scraping with the bottom of the barrel. Are we counting the fall series? We are counting the fall. Hey, it's not your turn. It's not your turn. The rules are so simple. Michael Brennan.
Starting point is 01:33:37 I'll take that. Michael Brennan, one. Yes. Can you see your computer? Mulligan? No. That's simple rules. JJ Spong.
Starting point is 01:33:48 Correct. Yes, correct. One of the U.S. Open, I believe. Great man, Justin Rose. Justin Rose. Yes, Memphis. Rory McElroy. I already said.
Starting point is 01:34:00 I didn't hear, sorry. I was, can I have a redo? You guys are children. This is crazy. This was such an easy game. I mean, I just got it wrong. I thought Matt won the 20, 25. All right.
Starting point is 01:34:10 Probably won, but keep going. It's probably one, we keep going. Ludwig is, yes. Now I'm on the spot. It's the whole game. Adekki. Hideki, yes. Kavalu.
Starting point is 01:34:24 Zander. Zander won in Japan. Big in Japan. Russell Henley at Bay Hill. Russell Henley. bonus points for naming the tournament. Andrew Novak. Andrew Novak. One of the winners at Zurich.
Starting point is 01:34:37 I'll take Ben Griffin. Ben Griffin, the other winner at Zurich and also what, Colonial, I believe? And ProCore. And ProCore. No, Scottie won't ProCardt. Higin Bradley, unfortunately, the travelers. Keegan Bradley, yes.
Starting point is 01:34:52 Chris Goderup. Well done. Chris Gottrop, yes. Sammy Valamaki. It's Sammy Valmaki. Aren't you glad I asked you that question? This is harder than you'd think. Pretty easy one hanging out there for T.C. still.
Starting point is 01:35:12 There is. Very easy one. Come on. It was a major. Some would call it that. Some would want to call it that. Yeah. It was a limited field. Oh, I mean, Tommy. Tommy won the torch championship, but you said it doesn't count.
Starting point is 01:35:27 It's only 30. I just said it was limited field event. I didn't say it didn't count. I said, I asked if he's going to win a full field event this year. You took that as hostility. it wasn't. Okay, I'm going to go way off the reservation here.
Starting point is 01:35:41 Carl Phillips. Great one. Yeah. Paul of Carl. What did he win? Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico. I can remember it was Puerto Rico or Punta Conno. Nick Taylor. Nick Taylor. What did he win? Phoenix, I think.
Starting point is 01:35:53 Sony won it? Or Sony. Sony. That's what Phoenix was a couple of years. Who won Japan? Did Zander win in Japan? He did, and you're out for now for the second time. Oh, okay. that was already said it gets kind of thin with Scotty winning so much
Starting point is 01:36:11 Cam Young Cam Young won at Windham Potkeeter Potkeeter one I was trying to think about the Mexico Open No but no he won't He lost in the plow on Detroit
Starting point is 01:36:26 That's right Kegan had a plot for Oh my gosh You already said Campbell Was that course record? Would there have been a course record I don't know I don't know.
Starting point is 01:36:35 God, who's the guy I was just thinking about that won the Sanderson? It's killing me. Oh, Stephen Fiske. Stephen Fiske. All right, I'm out. You win solid. It's all I can.
Starting point is 01:36:47 Thank you. That's a two-time winner. Sepp, the great man, Sep Strachka, you guys miss. H.E. You guys miss. Thomas Dietrich won at Phoenix to answer my own question. Joe Highsmith, I thought they struck that from the record, though, after he went to live.
Starting point is 01:37:03 Oh, that's interesting. I don't know. Big Hovland, surprise winner. Minwu Lee. The lights are bright in here. Brian Harmon. What did Brian Harmon? He won Valero.
Starting point is 01:37:15 That's right. Valero. J.T. of course. What a J.T? Heritage. Heritage. Garrett Higo. Sepp again.
Starting point is 01:37:23 Ryan Fox, two-time winners. T.C. He did win twice. I couldn't remember that was 28. Canadian Open. Canadian Open and Bairt and Myrtle Beach. Big Shot Bob. Big Shot Bob.
Starting point is 01:37:34 did. That was two years ago. One last year. Yeah. Goddrup won the Scottish last year. Yeah. William Mao, Ryan Gerard. Chairman.
Starting point is 01:37:42 hottest player in the world. What are you in Tahoe, I think? Yes. Kurt Kittiyama, Stephen Fisk, you said, and Electron Adam Shank. Yeah, that's right. Martin did be Dutch.
Starting point is 01:37:54 Dutch. It was the other language. It was the other language. Confirmed. Guys name and dudes is really a nice pastime. I miss the historical who am I? Yeah. The historical who am I?
Starting point is 01:38:01 No. We only did one. We only did one. We can do another one if you want. It's commercial again. All right. Which one should we do? Let's do this one.
Starting point is 01:38:08 Ready? Yep. I have made 437 starts on the PGA tour and I've won three times. This is a PGA tour golfer this time. Okay. I threw Jim Nance at him. Their brains were in a pretzel. That was good.
Starting point is 01:38:24 Was the guy? Was the guy. I've won three times. Won three times 437 starts. I'm going to guess nobody wants to guess. I was born in Wichita, but I'm mostly known as an Arizona guy. I think. Continue?
Starting point is 01:38:45 In fact, I attended Arizona State until 2004, but returned six years later to complete a political science degree. Sun Devil Cody McBride really scratching his head trying to figure this one out. It's you got 37. Three times. A lot of starts for this ASU guy. I also don't know where golfers went to college. I got some names rattling around in my head, but it's a lot of directions we could go. I'm going to say Ches Revy.
Starting point is 01:39:17 You got it. Wow. T.C. Got it. Well, that's well done. Mark Wilson and Pat Perez. No, it's got to be Ches. Ches Revy.
Starting point is 01:39:25 joined the PJ tour in 2008. My only major top 10 was at the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. Only time you ever finished in the top. Chez Fest. It's somewhat pebble-thew. Loosely pebble-team. He finished T-3. in 2019. I totally missed that.
Starting point is 01:39:39 Sure we talked about it? Totally missed. I got a Hogi on the first page of the leaderboard. Hogi, look at that. Who am I alum? T7. How about that? Good stuff. Note that for the big board next year.
Starting point is 01:39:53 If Hogi tells he he is not hitting his irons well, we'd like that. Looks like the Golf Channel broadcast is ending. Before we got, I got two more of these. Okay. We're going to burn out. We'll hang out for a while. Before as the golf ends, though, any other kind of big picture, big picture thoughts? What do we think the wording score is?
Starting point is 01:40:13 Great question. I look like any weather's rolling in. Sunday, I thought it was. I was just talking to our friend Mr. Stanky. He said that the forecast is improving, but we won't know until the night before. You just can't know here. Yeah. Simply don't.
Starting point is 01:40:28 Mike. You don't like the weather. Uh, well, 10. Give me 17 under. Oh, I think it's going to be lower than that. I think it's going to get it again tomorrow. And Saturday, too. I would say, I think it's going to be.
Starting point is 01:40:42 Yeah, they're not going to go back. What's the record here? Great question. 24? 22. 22, Cody, save. I think they break the record this year. I think you're probably right.
Starting point is 01:40:53 I was going to say 23. Yeah. Interesting. Who went? Cotter up. I don't know. Man. Tewu Kim.
Starting point is 01:41:06 I mean, what's interesting. Sticking with my guy. Look at all the low, like, Kagan. Big Tone and Patrick Rogers all in the top six. They were all spyglass too. This would be such a statement win for Keegan. Like we were talking to John about like this is such a resume thing.
Starting point is 01:41:20 Oh yeah, you want a pebble. Like that just goes on someone's career resume. You win on this golf course. I would say not to be prisoner of the moment. The same thing for Godorough. It's just like not only Phoenix, but like okay, now you here you go. Boom. Biggest players in the world. Like this is, I'm the dude.
Starting point is 01:41:36 I'm a dude and I'm here. That would displace P from the from the top spot in the Fedora 5. Got her up and peeved. When we were doing the 94 pot, Johnny Miller went in late in his career. Like this place does allow guys Justin Rose,
Starting point is 01:41:51 like it allows guys Phil like late in their career to compete out here. So that, I don't know, that that's an aspect of this tournament. There's almost a nostalgic factor to it because everybody has a lot of context with it and then you see a big name
Starting point is 01:42:04 that's been around a while go win it. Like that's kind of what I think like a Keegan win would be Johnny. One of my most visceral or not visceral, but strong tiger memories is tiger winning here when they, they went back out on Monday. Yeah, 2000. What was that? Matt Goggle. Yes. Ran Mac.
Starting point is 01:42:23 Almost to who. Almost a who am I. That would have been a good one. I thought about that. But I didn't go. I like Akshay this weekend, too. I think this place is setting up nice for Oxy. Two weeks in a row.
Starting point is 01:42:34 Lefties play well here. We know lefty. You always got to watch out for left. he's at Pevel. Joe Griner on the bag. I'm trying to think if Max ever has had, I mean, he's probably played here a bunch, but I don't know if you ever had huge success here. But Joe's been around around my guy. I know that plays in the needles models. That's true. Of course. How about our pod visitors yesterday? Mav is T-19, Ricky T-11, Novak T-7? Like, the pod bump is. Is the pod bump? It's still there. Is the pod bump back?
Starting point is 01:43:01 That's good stuff. Uh, all right, guys, here we go. Ready for another one? Ready. Please, please. I am a pro golfer born in Manhattan, New York City. It's not the mean streets of the Bronx. Not the Bronx. It's not sleepy all. I'll tell you, it's not cave you. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:43:21 You should have not said New York City. You should have said Manhattan. It could have been Manhattan, Kansas. That's a good. That would have been a good one. No guess. Before turning pro, I was a USGA champion and played for Team USA. Can't tell you what event.
Starting point is 01:43:39 They did play for Team USA. say. Okay. Nobody wants to do. No, I'd say you're good to go. I won eight tournaments at Pebble Beach Golf Links. Hmm. That's a lot of tournaments.
Starting point is 01:44:01 A lot of tournaments. Could be. It could be, yeah, tournaments. You didn't say it. It could be the. Words matter. Could be the peer insurance championship. Oh,
Starting point is 01:44:08 could be a pro am. Shall we continue? Please. All right. I moved to the Monterey Peninsula and bought property overlooking Pebble Beach and Carmel Bay. Carl Schwab Not a professional golf
Starting point is 01:44:24 Not that part What a notable finance guy Yeah I know He didn't play golf at Stanford though He did he is a good player in his own right You've been eliminated I'm afraid It does have property overlooking Cabal Beach and Carbought Bay I got zoomed in on one
Starting point is 01:44:38 I got more Stillwater Cove I think It's the house that I think of it right Continue We have two more clues I think I know But yeah I need one more I die in Pacific Grove, California in
Starting point is 01:44:53 1944 at the age of 51. Cody thinks he knows it. I think I know. Cody thinks he knows it. Sorry. Marion Holland. Oh. Was she a pro?
Starting point is 01:45:08 I thought she was an aunt. From the CB McDonald pod. She moved out here, helped Sam Moore. He said, I'm out of everything. Became like the director of Women's National Golf Link. She's like, I'm out of here. Director of something at Pebble Beach.
Starting point is 01:45:22 I came here. It was like athletics or something. Outside. One of the greatest equestrian riders as well. Marion Holland's deep ice is high on my list. That would be an awesome. The doctor's a woman. The doctor's like, yeah.
Starting point is 01:45:34 As we said earlier, I can't operate on this on this boy. This is my son. The doctor's a woman. Oh, my God. Scotty. Yeah, now we're watching golf center. We're watching highlights, but still I had not seen, not seen how Scotty got to this number today.
Starting point is 01:45:50 I hope you're not going to correct me. Hired as the athletic director. Athletic director. Yeah. How about that? The only other clue I think you guys would have got. I'm best known as the developer of such courses at Cypress Point and Posit. Yeah, I think that.
Starting point is 01:46:04 I think we would have gotten there. I saved the best one for last. You ready? This one only has five clues. I was scraping the bottom of the barrel. I'm a professional golfer who is an all-American at Augusta State University. God, you know, I want to say them. I mean, there's five different people.
Starting point is 01:46:24 Try to get the boys to jump offside. Didn't they change the name? Like Georgia Regents University or something? I don't know. Good for you guys. Nobody jumped off sides. Gustav State coach was the man at Georgia Tech Golf Camp back in. Gustav State Coach, North Florida Coach.
Starting point is 01:46:40 Yeah. I have won three times on the PJ Tour. Two of them coming at the same event. You think you know it? No, he doesn't know. The hard one. Oh, Norlander. You're out.
Starting point is 01:46:59 Damn it. Did go to famously Augusta State. Yeah. I don't think he's won three times. I don't know what else called. Or maybe even once. I would have to check the tape on that one. Cody, we're playing bold out here.
Starting point is 01:47:13 Get our reason. And you're in the water. Fortunately. All right. Shoester out Shoester crime here for the last one. In 2016, I was the first all. alternate at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am.
Starting point is 01:47:26 I got in after Carl Peterson withdrew. I ended up winning by one over Phil Nicholson. 2016. Solly's going to be that meme with a guy who holds his breath of this of this next one. Actually, I don't know. 2016. Last clue.
Starting point is 01:47:50 Last clue. I went 01 and 1 on the 2006 Ryder Cup team. Chris Riley? Good guess, but no. He was 04. It's a great guess, though. Do you know it? No.
Starting point is 01:48:05 I mean, I could probably, I can fill it in. I was trying to think who else went to Augusta State. Like Scott Jameson, he's not a U.S. I could make 2006 what, Riterick. Rhetoric? It's not Wetterick. Vaughn Taylor.
Starting point is 01:48:19 Bon Taylor. He's an Augusta guy, too. He won, I think he won a barracuda twice. He did. Von Hill. He played so well that year that he beat Phil. Yeah. I didn't realize he was first alter.
Starting point is 01:48:35 No, that's JJ Henry. Jay J. Henry. The Volgata. Guys, naming dudes. This was fun. It was fun. Scotty, yeah, the mic here
Starting point is 01:48:45 doesn't look happy. I got, has Scotty ever won here? He's not. No. Yet, the resume. Very incomplete resume.
Starting point is 01:48:57 There's like three courses that he's played. I forget what the stat was. There's like three courses he's played. He's not. top 10 both times he's played here though right so he's definitely going to win the u.s. open here next year for sure okay yeah let me what's the uh what's the update on the the uh am leader board what did uh can't lay and egon finish oh hegan bradley and mary meekar pg board member yeah in qualtricks ryan and what are they at minus 12 meeker and bradley are
Starting point is 01:49:30 at minus 13 and we got a three-way log jam between big tone qualtrickaul Patrick's Ryan, Murray Demo and Goddraub and Cantla and Egon. Scotty's results at Pebble Beach, 2019 U.S. Open. He missed the cut. 24 Pebble Beach ProMt 6 last year, T9. He did at least face the media this week after he did not last week. He's cracking a smile. Come on. Who's got a better than us, pro? It's a great day out there.
Starting point is 01:50:01 Who's he playing with? Who's his aunt partner? I looked like David Abelis Abellis. We were tripped up on that one. What is it? I think it's a Bellis. Could have used you. Noto.
Starting point is 01:50:15 He of the famous Double ACL simultaneous ACL Ter. He finished. He's T6 at the moment. What a comeback. Ball know or Andrew is currently T6 at minus 9
Starting point is 01:50:29 with his amateur partner, Filippe Lafant. Looking to go back to back. Past champions. Triple crown last year. That blew my mind. What if he just keeps winning the team events?
Starting point is 01:50:39 And they still don't let him on his cap? What if he wins this one and then he wins the Zurich again? He goes back to back at the Zurich. Would you put him on the team if he does that? Sure. Why not? Yeah. I'll have to ask him.
Starting point is 01:50:52 He told me I was right to not put him on the team. He's earned my trust. I'll ask him if you. I love him being like, I don't know why I'm a good teammate, but I am. He's like, yeah, you're right. I am. I'm a great team. Intangibles.
Starting point is 01:51:03 He's intangibly rich. He is intangibly rich. He kind of undid my whole platform yesterday. Just rip on me at all at all costs. Yeah, exactly. It was a foolproof strategy. It was just fell apart of my hand. D.C., can I get a little down the leaderboard for me?
Starting point is 01:51:16 Yeah. I mean, we, you know, we led the show off with that. So I don't want to, I don't want to, you know, retread the same territory. It's a new leaderboard. It's a big tone to minus eight, 64. Solly, what did you see from Big Tone when we were, when he joined us yesterday? I mean, just, he was stunned. you know, he was just vibing, just big vibes guy.
Starting point is 01:51:36 Yeah. I appreciate you not hanging me out to dry. I can't say I would have done the same. You know, play with Big Tone. You could have just been like, this is the guy that he makes funny on the pod. You know, you were a real gentleman. I could have done that.
Starting point is 01:51:48 I appreciate you. He's coming down three. We're coming down 16. I was talking to Ryan Smith. He's like, yeah, I might join you for the last two. And DJ just, what did you say? Like, why don't you just, let's just be cool? here.
Starting point is 01:52:03 Okay. Let's not do anything crazy. I did get pretty excited to see Big Tone. Hey, just let's be cool here. Neil, a couple stinkers to call out today. DB straight Vibein,
Starting point is 01:52:17 plus one, 77. That's on you. Yeah, that's on you. Marco Penge, 73. Okay.
Starting point is 01:52:25 That called that. H.E. 73. I'm pretty low. disappointing there. H.E. I was fading. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:52:33 I'll bring up the board. Sorry. Boxy. Pock, Peter, you were right on, I think. Yeah, I had him in the 70s. Morcawa minus 3. Nico.
Starting point is 01:52:44 We had a discussion about Nico at Chavaria. I had him pretty low on the list as well. He's T-39 at the moment. Okay. We go either way. Let's see how Daddy D played today with Billy Ho. I did tell you. I got to say somebody.
Starting point is 01:52:56 I had Pock Peter at 75. C.C., read those names off. I had big tone at 60, so that's going to hurt. That's the potential shame. A long way to go, though. Solly, somebody did come up to our group and just very sweet woman comes up. She's like, hey, which one of these guys is Rhonda Santis? I was like, it's the guy in the purple.
Starting point is 01:53:16 Thank you. Wow, good move. DeSantis and Horshal are minus six. DeSantis is not a good ball striker, T.C. They're tied with you. Will you beat Ronna's Antis? I'm outplayed tomorrow. DJ, I had regular Marco Pange at 37.
Starting point is 01:53:32 not to be confused with little Marco and Saul you have to be low Solomon what's what's yeah where do we stand on that DJD Saul is at minus four okay so he's playing with is he who's he playing with Max Midfield battle that must be okay we saw Max at a very nice house
Starting point is 01:53:51 I believe we saw him last night I wonder if that maybe it was why that could be a connection house at the end of maybe let's not for sure let's not doc for sure that's not docs that's fair that's fair wait he was at Ron Jeremy's house I didn't say it. I don't know why that makes me laugh so hard.
Starting point is 01:54:07 I don't know. It must have been last year. We're walking down, Powell, nobody said anything for like 10 minutes. T.C. just goes, you know whose house that is?
Starting point is 01:54:14 Like, no, really? He's like, no. I did that the Cody. I've done a piece of property. Crazy.
Starting point is 01:54:23 That's unbelievable. Crazy piece of property. Yeah. Sally, I think the Linder family, the, the reds. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:54:31 they have a, they have a home. over in Stillwater Don't give me that address Why there's no free agent signing No they used to own the reds Interesting Those those Rory doubles were ugly
Starting point is 01:54:44 Jarring We'll give us more leaderboard You want AMs or pros? Pros because we were out on the golf course all day So I haven't had a chance to catch up Okay And maybe people that are just tuning in now Maybe they were working today
Starting point is 01:54:55 FITS minus 6 Ricky minus 6 McKenzie Hughes I yeah fits at 40 that's tough. The Soldier Boy, T-57. Roy missed a two-foot five-inch put on five.
Starting point is 01:55:08 Kevin, you at 49. Fishing in the right pond there. Alex Smalley, shot 68. Got a nice pep talk from his mom on his way off the range today. Like seriously? There you go. Brian Harmon doing stuff, 68.
Starting point is 01:55:22 Cam Young, 68. Lefties. Lefties doing stuff. Well, Zander. In middle of the pad. We're just listing off the peloton, the midfield here. Yeah, it's It still could go a lot of directions
Starting point is 01:55:38 Picking a winner right now is hard Is there a cut? Like is there like a little 10 person cut? Just the Genesis Bay Hill and Jack Memorial of the three that have like a mini cut. Well, listen, as we kind of land the plane here, TC's catting for you tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:55:56 Any advice from you for your big brother? Any advice from Sali? Does he see what? Does you need to give me some wrong numbers to, you know, to get me in the right mindset for the right club? No, you know, saw he knows his game pretty well. Did you use the laser today?
Starting point is 01:56:09 Yeah, definitely. But I used the book a good. So you're in a hybrid. It was a hybrid work environment. No, but a lot of blind shots of the laser didn't help out on a ton of stuff. So we did, the book was very useful.
Starting point is 01:56:23 I thought it's great. He likes to read his own putts. So that frees you up around the greens to vibe out pretty hard to make sure the bags out of the way. Do you still get involved with the flagstick or do you just to leave that to everybody else. I'm the pro catty. But Sean,
Starting point is 01:56:34 uh, the other AMS caddy, he did not like giving up the flags. He's like, no, I don't like transfer in it. I was like, hey,
Starting point is 01:56:40 that's fine with me, man. I'm here if you need me. Yeah. How many times did I hole out today? Five, maybe like, yeah,
Starting point is 01:56:45 yeah. He's, he doesn't put out often because it's, we're in for, we're in for four. Let's pick it up. Yeah. Solly,
Starting point is 01:56:52 last time I carried for you, didn't go so well. What was that? U.S. Open local. Was it at the plant page. You didn't win the US over that year. That was the quick sleep.
Starting point is 01:57:01 That was the quick year. It was off to a tough star. It's probably looked like the part. Like I think if you asked either probably, but yeah, he hits it great. He just did. We messed up the par fives.
Starting point is 01:57:11 Not a lot of proximity to the hole. No. So we just didn't have a ton of birdie looks. And the birdie he made was like a 25, 30 footer on seven. There were a few guys in the gallery today. We were like, oh, that guy's pretty good, huh?
Starting point is 01:57:22 Good. Yeah. I mean, you know, you definitely pass the sniff test out there. So I do not pass on a physical sniff test. And then the score, you know, the walking score told me, he's like you pass, he's like, he looked like, you look like, you belong to.
Starting point is 01:57:36 That's the benchmark. Yeah. That's what you got to do. T.C., I think last time you caddied a professional event, you were assessed a two-stroke penalty. We'll be monitoring that situation. My player was assessed. And then my pay was docked accordingly. That's right. It was when I embedded the ball in the, in the lip,
Starting point is 01:57:53 on the upslope of the bunker on six. It was a moment of like, do we get a club length for this? Like totally, man. To have a little bit of a panic of like, oh, gosh, this is an official event. Like, I hope I've got the rules right. Do you think there's ever been a cheating scandal? Yes. In the amateur.
Starting point is 01:58:08 Yeah. Like non-sandbagging division. Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure. I mean, turn it's better out. People like, you know, like unknowingly break the rules all the time. Yeah, but like a malicious scandal. Because we are in an intent-based world.
Starting point is 01:58:22 For sure. There has to have been. We should dig in. Ask around. We're here. Let's do some on the ground reporting. Ask around what's the biggest scandal, you know. We'll report back.
Starting point is 01:58:31 Also, I thought for a sec, Mavs ball got stuck in the tree on 18. I didn't see it. Oh, yeah. We almost lost the ball on the tree on two. I hit one of the cypress ones in front of the ditch. We never saw it, but it did thankfully come down. Vertical hazards, man. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:58:49 That was one of your bad swings off two T. That was a miss there. We needed to do it. That was a birdie opportunity. It was vulnerable. Mav guys, we're fine. Yeah. Sally, what time we off tomorrow?
Starting point is 01:58:59 That's a great question, TC. I don't know the answer to that. It's a little later tomorrow. I know that. Okay. T times round two. 1016 local time off number one. Love that.
Starting point is 01:59:13 That's spy. Okay. So you're going to be... T.C., you're going to be in the blender early there. Make sure you got hydrated. One three, five is... Yeah. Keep him hydrated.
Starting point is 01:59:22 I will. Proactive with the water bottle. Yeah. Yeah. That's good. Because you want me to feed him? No, no. But just after...
Starting point is 01:59:29 I was kind of conscious after he hit a bad shot. Here you go, bro. Take a couple slow. I didn't notice that. Now it's going to stick out tomorrow. It's just he has to be a while. I must have been a bad shot. I mean, he saw Tsunni as the guy that drinks water before every shot, right?
Starting point is 01:59:42 It's interesting. And it seems to be working pretty well for him. Where were you on that one? Yeah. Well, he lost his, he lost his Yetty. We've got Bridgman and struck up behind this. I left it. I think I left the catty check.
Starting point is 01:59:54 Yeah, we got to go maybe retrace our steps. We'll track that down. I will shout up. We never saw anyone behind us. I think Sep was behind us, but we didn't see that group and we didn't really see the group in front of us. We didn't wait much at all.
Starting point is 02:00:08 No, pace was, yeah. Pace was nice. Good. That was John's top priority. He was saying, you know, got to get the pace cooked on this, on this event. It seems like we're massively moving in the right direction.
Starting point is 02:00:19 Good. What do you think? I think the weather looks great. I think we just go vibe out on the porch. I would love that. That sounds like a lovely way. to wrap up. I feel like there should be more golf playing right now.
Starting point is 02:00:31 I know. I know. You think the weather is perfect. But phenomenal week, wrapping up our second show of the week. But we've had a lot more going on besides that as well out here for company offsite. You know, the merch start's got us working all the time. But lots of deliverables out there. We appreciate Maverick McNeely taking T.C. safely up in the air.
Starting point is 02:00:51 It's an amazing video. Go check it out on the No Laying Up YouTube channel. T.C. Any lasting thoughts from Mav? and then, you know, being to talk about it after it with it. I just think generally speaking, hanging out with Mav, you know, meeting Mav, what, five or six years ago, and just every single year he's such an intentional, thoughtful, conscientious guy.
Starting point is 02:01:13 And every single year, you just see him come out of his shell a little bit more and get a little bit more comfortable out here on tour. And I think today's round was a perfect example of not getting down on yourself and just staying in it and turn, enough he's he's in the top 20 he's so good man it was like a very very very legitimately impressive round and i know the numbers like don't jump off the page and i know everyone in this feels good but like it it was like i've gotten to play in a fair amount of proams and practice round and that it just felt like we played with max back in like at marslandi like 20 20 20
Starting point is 02:01:48 yeah he shot like 63 but it was just like oh that's like a top that's like a top 20 player in the world sounds different doesn't really turn it just veers yeah But I think Mav, like we were talking to his agent today and he was saying like, yeah, Mav has just gotten a little bit better every year. He's never backslit. He works on the small things that keep adding up. And to be honest, it reminds me of Team Roses mentality of, didn't come out, you know, like Mav didn't come out and light the world on fire at first.
Starting point is 02:02:15 He said, hey, it's going to take me a few years to get to get comfy out here. That's how it was in high school. That's how it was at Stanford. And sure enough, like, I think he's, he's well on his way. and I am I'm I'm I I would invest in Mab if I could Matt well and I'm just on that one two things there one I just think it's really cool that his brother's caddian for him and that's just like I must like what that must be awesome for both of them and two I got a shout out my guy Russ Henley again just put his
Starting point is 02:02:45 picture in the dictionary next to pro golfer guy is such he's just so solid and it's it's it looks so easy uh when he sinks those 10 footer He's just like, I don't know, it's never stressful. It's impressive stuff because he doesn't have the loud traits that some of these other guys have. Gets in the hole. He's intangely rich. Yes. They were awesome hosts too.
Starting point is 02:03:07 They were both, you know, super helpful when needed. And we had a great time out there. Shout to Mr. Beast. Yep. The Beast Industries as well. We had a great for some. I mean, it was just, it was, it was a very, very, very special day on the golf course. Well, other thing I would say before we get out of here, Cody was shouting out all the other deliverables we have.
Starting point is 02:03:25 we've been doing some light vlogging. So we're documenting the week in a fun way. Keep an eye out for that. More on that. It's mindful vlogging. So keep an eye out for that on Sunday. We'll kind of give more of an update there. Indeed, you're missing the yearly tradition.
Starting point is 02:03:42 What's that? Saturday. Be on the lookout for the third year in a row. A bunch of questions with Jordan Spee. Of course. Sunday TC is going to be out here tomorrow. Caddian, like we said.
Starting point is 02:04:28 And of course, we'll have the Sunday pod. We'll kind of wrap it up, break it all down. And hopefully talk about another fun champion here at Pebble Beach. Another person adding to their career resume, Neil, fingers crossed. Fingers crossed. Indeed. The leader is at 10 under par. We have two, one shot back at nine under Sam Burns,
