Be the right club.
Be the right club today.
Johnny, that's better than most.
How about him?
That is better than most.
Better than most.
Ladies and gentlemen,
welcome back to the No Laying Up podcast live version Thursday Open championship.
Solly here joined by my guy, Mr. TC.
Hello, T.C.
Greetings, Sally.
I just saw Luke Clanton is won over down in the Dominican Republic after one round.
The alarm bells are going off.
Anything to deflect for some of the things you may have to answer for, T.C.
I appreciate that.
Randy is here.
Hello, Mr. Randy.
Hello, Mr. Solomon.
It's great to be back on the No Laying It Up podcast.
Thank you for having me.
DJ Pye is here.
Hello, DJ.
How's your team doing?
Wow.
Front Street and me on that one.
You know, we got work to do.
But me and Cody, I think we got a plan.
I like our strategy.
I thought we played really strategically today.
And our strategy going into tomorrow, I feel great about it's all about strategy.
It's all up in the air.
Absolutely nothing is guaranteed on a Thursday evening other than the fact that it is a major championship week.
And we know we can guarantee that Footejo will be again the most worn shoe at this week's open championship since 1945.
Footjoy has been the number one shoe on tour this week at Royal Burkdale.
No exception for more than 80 years.
The world's best players have trusted Footjoy to perform on golf.
biggest stages, no matter what you look for in a golf shoe style, performance, traction,
stability, all day comfort.
Fuljoy has an option built for your game.
This week, you'll see tour players wearing everything from athletic favorites like ProSL
and Hyperflex to the timeless premiere series.
Butchoy also introduced the third and final release in its Legends series collection this
week, created in collaboration with Harris Tweed, Hebrides.
This might be the best one yet.
It's a Premier Series Packard that uses hand-woven fabrics from the first.
the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.
They're available now at footjoy.com,
but only while supplies last.
They're so good.
They're so clean.
I mean, look at that.
They're so good.
Fantastic.
I actually wear mine in the Outer Hebrides earlier this year,
which was quite a thrill.
I don't have to tell you guys.
Solid big day today, man.
Big day.
Last first day of a major championship of the year.
You never know what you're going to get.
You take all these puzzle pieces and you kind of
huck him down on the floor after round one and then sit here and try to pick them back up.
We've got Jackson Subur, you know, truth, truth overriding fiction or whatever they say, TC,
the detective out front at a major championship.
True detective. Time is a flat circle.
Out front with a 65 at the Open Championship in his first trip to Europe, which is kind of a fun thrill.
Sung Jay M. and Big downtown Dan Brown in there at minus 5.
four behind him. We've got a lot of guys under par, 38 something, something like that guys,
uh, under par. But it is, it's tight up there. We've got a tight leaderboard after after
Thursday. A lot of people still in this thing. But I think that we got to start today on the
no laying it up podcast down there at three under with the big golfer. Bryson DeShambo. What a
thrill. He came into this week. Everybody, it was kind of, you know, I feel like we take shots at
Bryson all the time. That's not really
like a stretch,
but it felt like everybody else
got the just green light, you know,
swing away. Three and O'
count swing away. And everybody's
just been taking shots at Bryson
leading up to this. Faldo,
Brandl-Chambley. There was
a lot of heat coming
Bryson's way and he answered by looking
extremely comfortable, played
really, really good golf. And he
sits there two off the lead. Salie,
what say you? Go
King do your thing like stunt on him a little bit he of course did a little after the the round he
did not speak with media but did speak uh to an open championship or rna commentator of some kind
on a pre-approved list of questions uh and did have uh you know a little comment here to of course
yeah foulow one said earlier this week like he has zero concept of strategy blah blah he's
going to attack the links whatever uh he addressed that not directly but did use that word i believe
we have the clip of him of him addressing some of the uh how he executed on the golf course today
i i think you've got to be a lot more uh strategic out on the golf course and i feel like i did
a really good job today of being incredibly strategic and focused uh super hard and placing in the right
places besides 18 um i i placed the ball in some some good areas uh but just you get more
fairways other than that i felt like my uh strategy was nice today that's great i love it the whole
I love, I seriously love it.
I'm not just as in like, oh, this is, this is bad and stupid but good for content.
Like I genuinely appreciated that for Bryson.
His whole interview was actually, was pretty fun.
He was in great mood.
He had a lot of good stuff to talk about.
I know that helps when you play well.
But I'm with you, man.
Go off.
Do it.
Like, this is good stuff.
This is the guy.
Like, I think all of us are, you're rooting to see this guy.
You want to see this guy.
It's better when he's involved.
It's better when he's at the top of the leaderboard.
It's better when he's playing well at the places he's not quote unquote supposed to play well at.
You saw other players just kind of get thrown into a blender at this place.
He looked very comfortable starting with two birdies right out of the gate.
You know, it was like a, it was it was just not what I expected at all.
But I'm very much here for it.
Big, you're in support of the big golfer?
Of course.
Content Factory.
He was, he was, he had the production line going today.
Listen, I'll be, I'd be lying if I said I watched any of this round live.
But from where we were earlier in the week with the 3D printed irons and, you know, I was, I was positive.
He was staring down another miscut.
And Friday, you know, we'll see tomorrow.
But tip of the cap, round one, it's fun, you know.
Whenever Bryson's up there, top 10, it certainly makes you take notice.
And I'm all for it.
We tease this a little yesterday.
We talked about this a little bit just in hearing how Rory described the golf course,
how it involved from his pre, you know, tournament trips he'd made up there,
how the rough was higher up three weeks ago or two weeks ago, whenever that was,
than it is now with it being baked out and things like that to say,
look, I'm not positive.
Fouto's comments are right on this, that Bryson can't put the gas pedal down at times.
And he did only hit four fairways today.
That was a common kind of thing thrown out there.
but if I may say the guy was second in strokes gained off the T.
Like,
fairway's hit is a bad stat for a reason.
And on a golf course like this where the rough,
even the light rough and the primary rough punishment was not very severe today.
The heavy punishment's going to come from like the other areas and the fairway bunkers.
And like there's going to be some bad spots in the rough.
But overwhelmingly there just wasn't a ton of penalty in the rough to this point is to say
Bryson's going to send a lot of drivers.
and you got to give him credit.
He executed the shots.
Like if you watched earlier today,
he took Driver on 10,
not a lot of guys in the early window in the morning
were taking Driver on 10.
And he had an awesome, awesome shot.
A really, really, really good drive around the corner,
left it an absolutely perfect spot,
chipped right up and made an easy birdie.
And then, like, shortly right after that,
you saw John Rom try the same shot.
You saw Ryan Gerard try the same shot
and not end up anywhere near where Bryson hit it.
Right?
This was like him flexing the muscle that he has.
the wind shifted a little bit in the afternoon.
Like somebody like Rory did not have this opportunity to ship it up there.
But there's an example of a missed fairway for Bryson that was in a great,
great spot.
This is a stroke gained, you know, not a full stroke,
but like you are gaining in a situation like this.
And he was able to apply that.
So like what he said about the strategy he applied,
he's like he's not trolling.
Like he's, that's accurate.
Like he applied a very solid strategy.
It can go haywire.
If you execute, you know,
not as well as he did today.
if you get some a little bit of worse luck a little bit of worse bounces you got a great bounce into the fairway on eight after pulling one pretty far uh you know off the off the uh you know i don't know if it hit somebody or hit the hill or whatever but it was left and it ended up in the middle of the fairway like you're gonna get some good breaks in lynx golf you got a fair amount of them today don't know if that's going to happen tomorrow but i i tip my cap to the big golfer today that was the i'm on offense i'm going to use the skills i have he didn't have that left iron miss going that he that we've seen him you know in major championships having and
I mean, the round could have been even better, honestly.
He missed a couple of putts, but he gained over two shots off the T.
And I'm weirdly excited about what we're going to hopefully get from Bryson going forward.
Yeah, I feel like he had a lot of games.
He did. That was the name of the game.
I think you kind of said it, Sally.
It's like not every missed fairway is created equal out here.
You heard a lot of players talking about kind of taking the worst thing out of play.
You know, it's like it does get tight when the fairways or this.
fast and this firm and the ball's rolling out 40, 50, 60 yards. But you got to kind of circle on
your yardage book. Like, what is the, we absolutely, we can miss in certain spots. We absolutely
100 percent cannot miss here. You know, there's one of those spots on each hole. You can,
you kind of heard that coming up again and again and again in players post round interviews. And
yeah, it seems like Bryson just avoided all the big disasters. And if you can do that, you can
usually still hit the green. You can, especially with how far he's hitting it. So, yeah, it seems to be,
Seems to be a great strategy.
But it seems like we're clear of what was Falto calling it,
the rough slam.
But we'll see.
Man, if he lays an egg tomorrow.
Imagine that.
He had the good conditions today.
It is going to mirror.
It's sick how similar the two forecasts are for Thursday and Friday in terms of same
wind directions shift, same like severity looking like in the afternoon.
And we saw the course play harder in the afternoon today.
So for Bryson, for Scotty, those guys, it's going to be, you know, a harder day.
It was almost a full shot harder in the afternoon today than it was this morning.
And I would expect those waves probably look pretty similar tomorrow and relatively even there.
But again, the guys that had the good rounds in the afternoon are the ones that are kind of like in the de facto lead at this point.
The Cam Young's, the Colin Warakawa's turned in some of the more impressive rounds of the day.
What, uh, backing up just a little bit, like, away from kind of specific players.
What did you guys think of just today in general?
What was the, uh, how would you kind of characterize the day?
What type of day was it out there, T.C.
What did you see?
Uh, I woke up at like 4.30 and I think the first thing I saw, like I put on a pot
of coffee, first thing I saw was a drone shot of just these colors that were melting,
together and i was like oh man like that looks really really really good i'm picturing the coffee pot
just like overflowing because you forgot you forgot about it because you just got drawn by the golf
i dropped the mug on the ground and the usual suspects are so say no there was there was one it was
like um i think it was out in the front nine it was just it was like whoa um and granted we've
been seeing these these all all week but it was it was really artful yeah it was it was just
all sorts of different tans and browns and almost whiteish.
It was like it was glowing.
It was effervescent or luminescent or whatever you would say.
But, you know, I thought the course was great.
And I thought, I was expecting to see guys in a few more fairway bunkers.
That was maybe, you know, maybe that's guys playing cautiously or conservatively.
I was expecting someone to take it a little bit deeper than what we saw, too.
expecting a 64 or 60 I guess super shot 65 but you know small he's small he hit at obie or lost his
drive on on 18 there he was he was kind of in the hunt for 64 65 as well but um but yeah
overall the course was pretty much what we thought of it I think 15 is serving its role to
us to a certain extent of like it's like you got to hit a good you know long to mid
iron in there and then you're probably going to have to execute a chip shot
you know, overall, I'd like to see the greens.
I'm sure they'll water the hell out of them tonight,
just to keep them alive tomorrow.
And then I'd like to see the green firmness and quickness ramp up.
Like Cam,
Kim Smith has some stuff to say in his post round about just,
you know, going off late and just how many guys had kind of walked on the greens already.
So I think having fresh greens will be a big thing tomorrow for the guys who go out early.
Yeah.
Yeah, it felt like a, I don't know, just like a kind of middle.
middle fastball open championship day.
You know, it was just like, exactly they are who we thought they were.
They are who we hoped they were.
You know, it was just a, it was just a great nature.
It was just a great championship day.
It was weird.
I didn't find myself other than Bryson and Scotty start and then Rory's finish,
which we can talk about all of those in a minute.
It's like there was no big, gigantic thing to grab onto.
There wasn't some hole that was like, holy shit, you got to see this.
There wasn't some player that was like, what a disaster, what a success, what a try.
It was just kind of all good, you know, it just felt like a real easy cruise all afternoon.
And what I took away from it was, man, I can't wait for, like, I always get almost overwhelmed on Thursdays and Fridays at majors where you're trying to get your arms around everything, which is, is fun.
And that's kind of part of the chaos.
but I just, I cannot wait for the cast of characters to come into focus this weekend.
So you can just kind of really sink into the moments on this golf course because I think
they're going to be spectacular.
There were so many little piecemeal moments.
The Smalley, you know, Smalley and I think it's Ben Griffin blown it out of bounds,
like almost back to back on 18 is like, okay, file that away for, you know, if it's Bryson,
if it's Scotty, if it's whoever it is on Sunday, like, okay, they still got to get through
that shot.
file some disaster you see on 15.
Okay, file that away.
That can happen.
Some eagle you see on 17.
Okay, file that away.
That can happen.
I just can't wait for the cast to shrink down and like kind of watch somebody sequentially go through all of these.
Whereas on Thursday, Friday, I can kind of feel like just jumbled in a little bit, a little bit arbitrary.
But I just think we're, man, I think we're in for a really, really good weekend.
There's a lot.
That's the short way of saying what I'm saying in a long, a long winded way here.
Well, I think that when when we talk about how baked out of it is,
We talk about how firm it is.
We talk about how brown it is and the, you know, the dust you see flying everywhere and, like, the dream conditions.
I think you can hear that and think that means it's going to be super hard.
Like, you know, nobody can play this golf course because of how hard it is and it's going to be carnage and it's going to be so fun to watch.
And that's just not usually the reality of how that play.
Like, unless the wind blows really hard or it rains really hard, like the open championship condition,
the guys are going to find a way to score no matter how you do it.
I just think the route of getting the ball in the hole is really fun to watch.
when the ball's rolling as much as it is right now.
And I agree.
I think the greens can firm up a little bit.
I think they're still like I,
it's not as simple as,
just let them be as brown as the,
as the fairways are.
That's just not how greens are maintained,
really,
uh,
anywhere on links golf courses.
And they,
as we're recording this,
I don't know how they're going to get everyone in the house tonight.
I mean,
there was six groups left.
Uh,
I think after,
after Rory's group,
I guess the last group,
it looks like they're on 17 right now.
Um,
but,
They are 20 minutes away from daylight ending here.
Like any longer rounds than what you currently have would be a problem, I think.
And I think the pin positions were solid, strong, nothing too controversial, nothing too easy, nothing too hard, nothing too dull, nothing too exciting.
And, you know, kind of easing in that first day, like there's going to be, they didn't burn all the interesting pin positions today so far.
I think there's still a lot of excitement left in this golf course.
So I'm looking at the cumulative stats in TC, something that you said, right?
Maybe surprised at how few shots ended up in fairway bunkers.
I mean, it felt like the obvious tradeoff today was because it's baked out, which is sweet,
the rough is more wispy and it's not as penal to drive your golf ball in the rough.
And I think we saw that playing out.
Of the 156 guys in the field,
84 of them hit seven, half of their fairways or fewer.
So it, you know, and you had guys like Scotty hit 13 out of 14, you know,
obviously played pretty well.
And Bryson hit four out of 14.
So I'm not sure there's much rhyme or reason to like the fairways hit metric,
although selfishly it would be like what would make this good,
degrade would be if that rough were a bit more penal and we had to see guys really think about
finding fairways and fitting their ball on the long in the short grass excuse me off the team
which randy i totally agree with but i'm also 50-50 on like dude that's forged by nature like i don't
i i did you know what like if they were like they i think back to um you know i i i can't i don't
know of a situation where the RNA has manipulated a golf course to be anything other than how
the conditions have dictated it to so i don't know maybe i maybe i have a more open attitude about that
where like with a u.s open everything is so manicured and everything is so uh done with with dials and
and knobs and settings and everything that that is uh feels manual that i don't feel the same
uh way on open championships like worrying about the rough they just like yeah the rough the fescue
didn't grow up this year like it you just kind of kind of roll with it but i will uh
I'll be interested to see how guy's strategy changes throughout the week, too.
I feel like just listening to,
listening to a lot of these guys and reading interviews and watching him play and
kind of what you're saying, Randy,
like understanding how much of a penalty is there in that wispy rough versus
the downside risk of trying to avoid these bunkers.
I think those bunkers were obviously massively in guys' heads today.
You heard J.T. was talking about,
I think it was JT was talking about plan 18.
and just not it's a what 50030 yard hole 525 yard hole something like that and he's talking about how like man
I just there's nowhere to hit driver there's nowhere to hit three wood I just I have to do first things first and just secure my oxygen mask and get the ball in the fairway so therefore I have to hit a five wood and now I've got 200 plus yards into this green that's like honestly like a little bit of a smaller green anyways because it normally plays as a part five and even you see roar
having over 200 yards into that green.
It's like, I wonder at what point guys are going to be like, man,
I just have to hit the gas a little bit more.
The winner of the tournament's going to hit the gas.
That's exactly.
That's where I'm like, dude, you got to give the big guy credit, man.
No one else has that skill set and was able to execute it in the same way today.
Like that's where I'm, and it didn't feel like dumb.
I'm swinging as hard as I can and I'll go find it wherever.
That's kind of what impressed me about pricing, I guess.
That's why I think it'll be interesting to see if somebody goes out early tomorrow, sets the pace, gets to seven or eight under,
makes the rest of the guys, especially in the afternoon, feel like, all right, I got to go, I got to go put the pedal down.
Which is great because therein lies the disaster.
That's where we're waiting for, baby.
Number one player in the world even commented on this of, you know, I was playing pretty conservatively off the tee and Saul Hatton and Bryson pulling more drivers.
and he said his strategy evolved as the round went on.
I was like, Jesus, man.
Like that's what I liked about it.
It was like I did not feel like there was a formulaic way of playing this golf course.
And if you had told me like, what club is Rory going to pull off 10T today?
I think he pulled a fairway wood.
I would, I would, could be six iron, could be dry.
I wouldn't, I would not be able to guess what clubs these guys are getting ready to pull.
I think that makes for, you know, the interesting variety.
Like, one, if you go open up your fridge, vodka seltzer, vodka iced tea, tequila
the seltzer. There's options. There's so many
options. And no matter the occasion,
high noon has something for
you. There's a great day of golf.
So I went for one of my favorite flavors
that they make. I went for pear. You got a strawberry
going, reindeer? Cranberry.
You got the day pack going. Yeah.
DJ's got a watermelon.
TC went for the iced tea.
He's laying up off the tea.
A little bit playing back here. We'll see how
if the strategy changes. It's a half and half.
Lemonade in ice tea.
Is it a real? Homer.
Yeah.
It's a, come on.
I don't know. Did I even know they had those? I don't know if I've had one of those.
Anyways, that might change everything. If you are looking for your next pack, check out the high noon tequila,
celts or fiesta pack. It is an in an eight pack or you can get it at 12 pack as well.
Made with real tequila and real juice, great for any fiesta. No matter where you plan to throw it,
find the high noon tequila, selter fiesta pack nearest you at high noon spirits.com. High noon sun's up.
Sorry, just real quick, double-clicking on that 18th hole.
I love it.
I love it.
That last feature group, I think, was a perfect representation.
You had Zander trying to be conservative off the T,
miss hits it still finds a fairway bunker.
Fitsy lays back, I think has like 240 into a par four.
That sweet.
Rory pushes driver, takes on some bunkers.
does not find him off the T and has an iron,
which he hits a fabulous second shot,
gets rewarded with a great look catches,
birdie putt.
It just felt like a true,
choose your own adventure,
and I'm not sure which one's the best.
I'm not sure which one's the worst.
Let's just see you guys execute
and just testing long irons at the 18th.
I can't wait to watch that hole this weekend.
Is that, you know,
it's interesting because we talked a little bit about course changes leading up into this.
There's a lot of commentary about this.
Scotty had some comments, you know, saying it's very obvious what the new holes are.
We experienced that when we played it of like it's kind of jarring seeing some of the new
holes.
I think how I'm curious how you guys would react to this, but I would say I think a lot of the
criticism or critiques of that are accurate and on point and like all true.
Like I think it's fine.
It's it's it's okay to say like they're jar.
they don't feel like the rest of the course and the tie-ins are weak as one thing.
I feel like it kind of played well in terms of the championship
and how it worked for championship golf today.
Like I feel like this course needed some teeth down the final stretch.
The 14th hole, which was the 15th, the par 5 is longer now.
That was not a true par 5, but that was not a gimmy par 5 for a lot of the guys today.
That 18th hole T shot with extra fairway bunkers was made to be a lot more interesting.
I thought 15 was kind of entertaining more.
watch. I thought they did use the uptie today, TC, like we were hoping that they would.
They thought that 241 was probably a little too long for it. Five was a better version than it was
than the old version. Seven, I didn't really notice too much of a difference. But like overall,
it's like I feel like those changes have are not perfect. But as far as how it played for the
championship today, I was satisfied, I think is the word I would use. Yeah, I think the skills that
they're trying to identify or test are on display on those holes which is why it's yeah it's a
championship focus thing which is why it makes me very like it makes me laugh a lot when it when all
of the the tell is like oh oh you know the all these changes are member led the members one of these
these changes these members are out here pumping it at 195 balls free they need to be they need to be
we're making too many 30s and it's kind of one of those things of like yeah like maybe in the background they have you know
they're beating up the members.
They're like, all right, you either approve these changes or we're going over to Port Marnock
next time around, right?
I'm sure there's got to be a little bit of competition going between the venues and
on who's willing to champion some of that stuff.
But I mean, to your points, it's like what I remember from watching the, the speech stuff
in 2017, and obviously, like, that was kind of just a freak run.
but yeah, the up and down on 13 and then the near hole in one on 14 and then the, you know,
just eagle birdie, birdie, it's like, that's very different than I think what we're going to get this year.
Whereas 13, 13, 15, 18, I think are three of the four hardest holes.
Like the other one being six, which is another like converted par five that's, you know,
placed as a par five for all the mortals and a part four for these guys.
So it's already kind of a little bit inflated.
So yeah, I'm with you.
And then you still have 17, which gives you a chance to hit, you know, the shot that,
uh, the detective hit up there today, you know, to a couple feet for Eagle.
And it's like, yeah, there's fireworks in both, both directions.
That's kind of what I was trying to get at earlier.
It's like, man, I'm ready to, ready to know who the three, four, five guys are that are going to run through that gontlet on Sunday afternoon.
It's going to be awesome to watch it all in the end.
I thought 14 was the most consequential, like, you know, or I would say one of the most consequential whole.
today of like a bunch of guys bryson bowie that um and i think having 14 and 17 run in complete
opposite directions makes it very wave split friendly right of like all right like you're going to get
14 downwind and then you're going to get 17 in your or or as soon as the wind switches like it does
mid-morning it's going to be the opposite right yeah good rain well uh dege completely agree i i think
set up if, you know, these three hardest, three of the four hardest holes continue to play this
way throughout the week. It's just set up for leaderboard swings come Sunday afternoon. And
I think that's kind of the magic sauce of the masters each year, for example. And I feel like we
have a little bit of that opportunity where Eagles are in play on 17 and then, man, par is a great
score on 18. So I'm excited there. I have to ask, because I, I, somebody listening,
must have the same question. We touched on in the kickoff show. I still don't understand the detective
dink name for Jackson's Uber. Can we, oh, are doing this again? Can you just explain it to me like
I'm three? It's so stupid. Spencer, Spencer Levine just calls him the detective. And I was like,
why do you call him the detective? And he said, because he asks a bunch of questions when you play with
him. He's just always just really inquisitive and he knows everything about everybody. I'm like,
And so Bunky and I've just been calling him the detective for a long time.
Jackson played an old miss.
Bunky's an old miss guy.
And so we just, you know, like we were swapping detective emojis today via text.
Makes total sense and I will never ask again.
Thank you.
But then famously T.C. is like, oh, I'm constantly.
I'm always tweeting the detective emojis and then Sully live audited of it.
He'd only done it one time.
And Tron was confused.
like nobody knew the nickname he's like i've i'm always talking about this but it turns out it was all
private texts everybody's calling him the detective yeah so here we are it's big if you have the
question someone else in the class like kind of where i was going yeah thank you and then these and then
randy these guys scoffed when i mentioned the detective is is one of my my plays you know a potential
i was i was deciding between foxy or ryan gerard or the detective yesterday and and because i have
really non-consensus picks and really went out on the limb.
And I think I'm, I love where we're at right now.
What round did you draft him in?
I, I, I didn't, I didn't, but he was, you know, he was actually, pretty much get credit for saying.
Okay, he was one of our undrafted free agents.
Yeah.
Okay.
Bring him back in for another try out, though.
Yeah, he's on the practice squad.
I designed this draft game just so TC could stop trying to get away with.
I told you this guy was going to play well.
Like, you didn't draft, you didn't have it.
That's exactly why.
It's exactly why I.
throughout Colin Moracawa yesterday.
I'm like, all right, like,
man, if it keeps up like this,
this is prime for little baby Colin.
Sure enough.
Sure enough you didn't pick him and I did.
Not pick Colin Moore,
Collin that I was listening to in my drive home yesterday.
Did not pick Colin Borcala
and then had the audacity today to say,
Colin play well,
quote,
as the prophecy for Cole.
Which the prophecy said yesterday.
I can find it.
I will find it.
Oh, gosh.
You know what I was going to say, Randy?
Just worth double clicking on.
I mentioned this with Smalley and Ben Griffin,
but one thing on your Augustic comp,
one thing Augusta doesn't have is OB.
And I just have that mentally circled in my yardage book for 18.
I'm like, whoa, those balls got out of the ballpark in a hurry.
That was, okay.
That is he didn't play, which it always makes it.
I'm thinking back to Brian Harmon at Hoyle Lake or some of those where it's like,
Anytime there's OB on the menu, like you can never quite change the channel until the engraver really starts going.
You know what I love to though today when those winds were off the left?
I saw a lot of mannerisms from guys that look very similar to what I try to do when the wind is off the left of just no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, flip it at the last second.
Shea Lowry was doing it.
Scotty was, of course, doing it.
And Rory hit like the pole hook through the left to right wind on 17 that is like also varying the cards when you're worried about it.
going left to right.
It, yeah, just there was a lot of unease off that, off that AT&T today.
Randy, I don't need to tell you about Rory in those, those left to right winds.
God.
Was he not able to, what do you think?
He just couldn't find the right wind of practice.
He couldn't find a range that was situated correctly.
The wind switched.
It might have changed in the afternoon when he was going to hit balls.
But, Sally, Sunday, Sunday at 508 Eastern.
I'm talking myself into little baby Colin being a strong fit for Burk Doe.
Why didn't you commit when you had a chance to draft him?
You didn't pick him to win.
I think that then he got on your board and then you, you know, you got him like the fourth round.
All my guys.
I know I wanted Alex Fitz.
Moving on.
Solly dealer's choice.
You want to talk about Scotty or you want to talk about Rory?
Scottie.
Let's stay positive for a little while here.
Let's stay positive.
Scotty played really, really good golf, man.
What was he, four under through five?
It looked like he was going to win by 30.
five shots.
I'm sorry,
46.
Yeah.
And then just two little weird hiccups.
A wedge in his hand on seven, the par three.
Allegedly.
Makes a bogey.
And then I was like, no, I think he did.
I see what you're saying.
Right.
Yeah.
Good one.
And then he makes a bogey on the par five.
17th.
But macro takeaway has got to be positive.
I would think after, you know, his horrifying miscut.
Randy, you were calling.
in his career over.
You know, he bounced back.
The haters and losers can taste it.
Scotty's still good at golf.
Is that our takeaway?
It was the exact thing I was fearing of like as soon as I moved off Scotty.
It's like six holes in is going to be like, oh, okay.
Well, yeah, that's the best player in the world.
He looked like the dude from last year, shaping shots in control of the golf ball in the
fairway the whole time.
He said afterward, I felt like I could have got a little bit more out of it today.
but if I continue to do what I did today with the ball striking,
I'll be in a good spot as the week goes on.
And he would later finish his interview saying golf has played over 72 holes.
And I definitely liked what I saw today.
And I think that was, that's a warning sign for people, I think.
He did have the good going today.
He did have the easy, easy part of the draw.
And he didn't, you know, didn't make any birdies after the sixth hole today,
played in two over from there and had a tough bogey on 17,
which was like, you know, missed way right with his second shot and ended up in one of the worst
spots in the rough that we've seen so far this week. That is looming out there is like the the
takeaway I had from that of like it was enough to to see you know if you are offline enough
times you're going to likely find one of those one of those spots but uh looked looked very very
very good. Um, he's certainly headed towards the top 10 at minimum, uh, very, very likely top five.
And he's as you would expect, uh, the highest, highest, uh, wind percentage probability board,
uh, through, through 18 holes.
There were a few spots today, like Scotty left of five.
Rory in front of one of those bunkers.
I can't remember which hole it was, but I was just audibly gasping of like, I cannot wait to see these guys hit this shot.
And I never, ever, ever want to have to hit that shot myself.
Tommy had one as well.
But just all you see is that face of the bunker in front of you.
And there's downslope behind it.
And you've got maybe a four foot.
window to land it in because like Ryan Gerard had some good quotes about how it's just tough to
get spin off of off of that lynx turf and really get friction on the ball and so it just makes
it that much more remarkable that like it's it's truly a treat and a pleasure to watch scotty
chip it around around these parts yeah zander had his third shot on 18 tc i felt the same way
Yeah, just nightmare inducing.
So I guess my only to play devil's advocate on Scotty,
you know, maybe the only question is,
did he waste an opportunity?
He might not hit the ball as good as he did today the rest of the week.
Did he simply not get the ball in the hole enough?
His put, I should say, his birdie putt on 18 was like a breath short of going in.
So between 17 and 18, it was like, God, there's two shots right there.
there. That'd be my only if I was trying to play devil's advocate.
No, but I think his whole thing is just the steady 72 whole pace.
Like to your point, yeah, he was a revolution short of making birdie.
I believe it was on nine as well, if I'm remembering right.
So it's like, all right, well, there's 66 if both of those two putts take one more revolution.
And we're talking, all right, so Scott, he's got five majors now.
Like, what does that mean for, you know, on Thursday?
But very well could be, but it was, I don't know.
That was a different Thursday, Scotty, that we've seen in major championships this year.
He's not behind the eight ball currently early in the tournament like we've seen from him.
And I don't know, man, he just seemed to hit it really, really, really nice and seemed to be like the conditions and the shots required and the overall links, like let's get out of my own head about my swing and just start reacting athletically towards things seem to come out of him today, which was something I wasn't picturing after a man.
cut last week he seemed to have a better uh attitude afterwards too like i i thought he was going to come
off and be hot as shit under the collar after that bogey on 17 which feels probably more like a double
and he's you know he seemed pretty buoyed by how he played so he said it he's like he's you know
hit in the rough i had a really bad lie over there but hey don't hit it offline and so i was like hey
okay we shouldn't have to pat him on the back for that one but okay less bitchy scotty
all right progress progress there's uh this is
going to end up coming off like real backhanded and really slagging off some dudes. But if you want to
scroll through the names that are ahead of them, I mean, Link's Golf does a weird thing on an 18-hole
sample size where there's just six, seven, eight, nine, ten guys that that make the putts that get
the bounces that kind of hang around. And I'm like, you know, Francesco Molinaris in front of
them. We've got 50-year-old Henrik Stenson in front of them. We've got MJ Duffy. We've got
you know, Pearson Cootie's fine.
We've got Jordan Smith, Victor Perez,
Joachim Loggergrin, T.C., get him on the team.
It's just a little bit of a, you could convince me,
Scotty's in like fifth place right now,
if we're being real.
And so I feel pretty, I feel pretty confident
about our prospects going forward here.
Yeah, yeah, that's well said.
do you see you want to go down the leaderboard a little bit i i was just kind of dipping my toe in
i i'm not ready to double click on sung jay quite yet so the group of t too sung jang
jay and dan brown dan brown said he was lighten up lighten up today between seven at eight six
he said uh yeah it was great it's so stomping him out he was you had to stop him out so they didn't
you know ignite a larger blaze yeah they were chumming the waters they were trying to get hit him with a little
Smokey the bear.
Is it too dry on the course for you to be smoking cigarettes?
And he was, you know,
snuffing those things out with an abundance of caution,
which is great.
Dan Brown,
I don't know.
Rush fire at the open.
He's sick.
Caused by the leader,
co-leader.
I mean,
of all people on property.
What if he was the one to do it?
That'd be amazing.
He's,
I mean,
he's had like this,
in very small circles of golf fans.
I know.
I feel like English golf fans are very into Dan Brown,
but those of us to follow the week-to-week PJ tour.
I think have just been big fans of what Dan Brown's doing on Instagram this year.
On the PJ tour,
I've shouted this out before.
There's wonderful things happening in the English golf corners of Instagram.
Dan Brown's on the forefront of that.
And so I've just, you know, he was one of those guys.
He popped up at the open.
What was that, three, two, three years ago?
He's always at the open.
And I was like, well, we'll never see that guy again.
And sure enough, he's holding the zone.
So I love, love seeing guys like that that, you know, it was Matthew Jordan a couple
years ago.
I love the random, the random blokes that, that pop up at the open is just, it's great.
There we go.
Cody's got me dialed.
There's some great, if you're just listening, this appears to be Dan Brown with some sort
of floaties on.
I don't know if this is Hilton Head or where this is, but just wonderful stuff happening.
I stand corrected.
This is only his third open.
He did, was T10 in 20204, missed the cut in 2025.
It certainly feels like he's done this more, more than once.
There's just a lot of, he's an archetype of a certain, a certain dude, you know, that
like it goes, I know it goes way beyond like beef, you know, but beef was, beef was that
archetype as well.
He was, he was that incarnation of this very specific English, Scottish golfer that,
that just beats up the open.
I love it.
Dan Brown, he had, he had two pars.
in his last 11 holes.
Now, granted, he made seven birdies in his last 11 holes as well.
So some good G. Thomas Dietrich, T4, I just can't take the guy seriously.
He's such a fluffer.
He's got his, he's got his aces gear on.
Like, of all the guys that left for Liv, the fact that he left at that time.
It's a bit of, get out of here.
It's Randy buying Moracawa.
It's exactly what it is.
I took the words out of my mouth.
I don't know if anybody, no offense to anyone,
I don't know if anybody played it worse.
And especially since, dude, he was playing really good golf,
really, really good golf.
Won the Phoenix Open was trending in a massively positive way.
And then he fucking missed a bunch of majors in like the peak of his career
because he didn't try to qualify his ranking, plummet.
It's just like, I don't know if anyone,
I don't know if anyone played it worse over the last five years.
uh bob big shot bob he had some quotes afterwards he got t4 he called the 18th hole
i don't know awful or stupid or dumb i think a shit golf hole was his quote after he missed
after he parted after he missed the green he called it a shit golf hole yeah ran it your
your response agreed to disagree there chief i tried to warn you guys on bob in the this or
I might have some of the worstakes.
They're horrible.
And like Bob,
Bob had a,
I'll read from his transcript here.
He said something about,
I could hear it coming in.
This is talking about the drone on the first T.
I could hear it coming in and I'm like,
please just keep flipping over the top of me.
And it just sat above me.
Then they announced me on the T and it was like,
I'm not hitting until that drone is out of the way.
I don't know who spoke to it, but someone did.
I also
I saw some comments about how
maybe ROM played the live stuff worse
I remind you that ROM got like
600 million dollars
just FYI
if you want to compare apples to apples
I don't think Dieter got that much
this is about strike 60
I think on Bob
this is you guys were right on
Bob
you were like I'm a big enough man to admit it
you guys were right on Bob
so
may it
for me. This was right as I was coming around on Bob. It's unfortunate. He's really good on
links courses there too. So Alex Smalley had it had it rolling. I was the tweeted like I can't
wait for the British press to to find out about his mom. Just that whole thing. So we'll see if that
that becomes a it's kind of a bummer that he doubled doubled 18 because I think that would
have been more of a talking point if they really started poking and prodding there. Ryan Gerard
P4, highest player in the world.
Stud.
Playing his first open.
Like, I was sending this through to you guys earlier,
but I've become such a fan of hearing him talk about golf.
He seems never met him.
I've read the stuff he's done with Friday,
and listened to a bunch of his post rounders now.
And I mean, he's just kind of one of those guys, like,
that, I don't know, he would be easy to see as a create a player
type of generic PJ tour guy.
But man, he just seems very switched on and super.
interesting. I was soaking up his post rounder today talking about the intricacies of
Link's golf and flights and shot shapes and how you do this, that, or the other thing. I thought
he had some great comments about just how hard it is to hit the ball high off of turf like this
and how that just implicitly changes your strategy because you're not able to just launch the
ball up and you've got to plan to hit it down into a different window. I think that makes
like Cam Young playing well. Just very interesting.
as a guy that hits the moonballs and I don't know it's just good context on a bunch of different
things so don't know much about Ryan other than I'm rooting for him and he continues to ball strike
the shit out of it yeah proper proper ball striker uh we're gonna skip over mj duffy for now
Pearson coody same deal he's got a prepared segment later that we'll come back uh great
great round from cam yong only
only one bogey on seven.
I didn't feel like he putted as well as the stats would indicate,
but maybe that's just because I was in and out kind of the afternoon round a little bit more.
Just played solid G a whole way through.
Yeah.
Been waiting for this for Cam.
It's been a little, you know, it hasn't been that long.
You really, it's, I mean, the Cadillac was not very long ago and he just absolutely blew the field away.
But we want to see some more validation from this in the remaining majors.
And yeah, finish this one off well and have a nice finish or maybe even win this one.
And all of a sudden we view his year in an entirely different way.
Can I, can I tap Cody with with two pars on the par fives too?
So it feels like he left a couple out there.
Please tap Cody.
Cody, we haven't talked about my draft.
I, of course, gave you power of attorney yesterday.
I know you were, first of all, I appreciated you, you know, putting your own biases aside
and leaving Cam on the board in favor of dub.
I am a dub respecter.
But I just, you know, anything you saw from Cam,
and you want to take me into that decision at all.
It's tough, but I was selecting your team.
I had full power.
It would have been a lot different.
But I tried to play it the way that I thought you would.
I love the round from Cam today, obviously.
I think there's a lot.
We covered a lot in the last three months.
Solly, you said that this year could end up a lot different
with a good result here, even with not a good result year, it's going to be the best year of
his career. So I understand we have heightened expectations for him. Yes. But for where he's at,
what a world. What a year. And another great, you know, top five here would be incredible. But I don't
think he's putting those expectations in front of himself. I meant it more as a, obviously it's been an
incredible, incredible year for him. But we'll remember it differently if it finishes with a bang, right?
otherwise it'll be like remember how hot he was back then in the early part of the year versus like this would be a uh you know i
appreciate how well you guys are getting along here with with this draft dj sitting in fifth place and uh
well we're trying to make something i my biggest i i was worried because uh i was afraid as tc kept
dropping there's connection issues things like that going on his end but i was just afraid that we
weren't going to get to this segment.
No, there's so many possibilities, like of what could play out here in the remaining 54 holes.
AT&T believes in connecting people to greater possibilities.
And they do that through a network that keeps people meaningfully connected to those who matter
most, friends, family, and more.
So the moments that feel closer and clearer because it's not just about being more connected.

Also want to give a shout to our friends at golf pride.
When the stakes are highest and every shot matters,
the best players in the world lean on what they trust.
That's why golf pride grips have been part of more major championship wins
than any other grip brand.
In fact, more than 80% of tour players choose golf pride
and not a single one of them is paid to do it.
At the highest level of the game, players obsess over every detail.
They know the one connection they have with the club is their grip.
When the pressure ramps up, confidence in that connection matters.
But that same confidence isn't just for major champions.
It's the feeling of having complete control over the club in your hands,
whether you're standing over a three-footer,
trying to hit a fairway under pressure,
or simply looking for more consistency throughout your round.
Grips are one of the most overlooked pieces of equipment in golf right up

All right, I'll double click on a few guys here just because I think they bear, they bear conversation.
I think Sep, except didn't have anything coming in.
Great, you know, minus two for him.
Bud Collie, I think he's sticking around.
Colin, like, ran out and then kind of cooled off down the stretch.
But I would anticipate them playing well.
Pretty much exact same thing with Alex Fitzpatrick, cooled off down the stretch.
Tiro played okay.
Tommy didn't have his A game and battled it around, got up and down a lot.
And then, you know, birdie, what, 16 or 15 and 17.
Really nice birdie on 15.
So salvaged something there.
Had some great stuff too about, like, I know it's not Rory at Port Rush necessarily.
But, I mean, it's not a normal week for him either.
Like, I think he's been, he's been very good at embracing that and saying all the right things.
But, I mean, he talked about how like, man, I was genuinely nervous.
in a way that I'm not usually nervous on the first tee playing this golf course.
And I thought I was going to settle in and I kind of did.
But like, man, I really fed off of the crowd.
And again, maybe, you know, maybe that's true.
And maybe saying it to to kind of gas people up.
But when he didn't, when he was scraping it around, he was, he was like,
normally the, you know, getting up and down is not always the strong suit.
And I, he's like, I got a lot of juice from from playing in front of a big excited crowd.
It was, it was awesome.
So it's, yeah, it would, nothing would make me.
happier T.C. I hope he keeps out of it. Solly was about to stick a fork in him through 11, 12 holes.
I look, he had the easiest part of the window and he looked really bleak early on T.C.
It was it was not good golf. It well salvaged there at the end. I'm happy. That's what he hasn't done in
the past. Correct. Again, he's going to be on the harder side of the draw tomorrow. I think he hurt
his, I think he hurt his chances to win the championship today. I think I would say that. Um,
which is not over, but it didn't help.
It didn't help his chances, I think.
What about Rob's emails?
Rahm Emanuel.
Rob played great.
I absolutely love where Rob's at, man.
He's only four back, man.
He's got to hit the gas pedal here.
He improved his chances to the championship.
It really did.
It is crazy that they shot the same score because Rom looked like he played great
and just kind of how the flow of things goes.
He bogied 14 and 15, which kind of killed all his momentum.
He got a birdie back on 17.
But yeah, he was two understanding on 14T, 14T, par five,
expecting to get a birdie there.
And it just kind of went sideways there for him for about 30, 35 minutes or so.
But, you know, decent, decent rounds for Rahm.
I don't think we're headed towards him winning this championship,
but he's well positioned still to get a top 10 or something,
something of that elk, I believe.
There's a bunch of guys that shot like 69, 70, 71.
I don't really want to, like, I don't think we need to double click on many of those guys.
Zander kind of frittered a decent one away down the stretch.
My guy Foxy didn't play well.
Pee really disappointed in what we saw from P.
Birded the first hole, came out guns blazing and then, and then.
Can you any putts, T.C.
Couldn't make any putts.
Rory and Fitz, T85 plus two, tie with P.
Rory, that's one of the weirder rounds.
ever, man. I mean, it just like looked possessed on the greens, could not, could not figure out the, uh, the short puts. He was second in strokes gain, uh, off the tea. Like, it seems like the kind of day that he's just gonna, gonna feast and then just looked flummoxed in spots, but weirdly salvaged it in spots as well. Bertie's on, what did I say 13, 15, 18 are the, the, the three hardest holes on that back nine, birdies them all. And he, I don't know, man, he's hitting it good enough that I'm like,
I don't I don't think he's like I'm not I'm not willing to
Randy him here like I don't think he's I don't think he's dead
like he's seven back after 18 holes I know it's not ideal but
I don't think he's gonna do that again I don't know how you guys felt
oh it was either you could convince me it was a great 72
or it was a dog shit yeah I think I would listen to both
yeah I think that's right it uh it looked it was again that that's
Like you watch Rory's round today and you're like, well, how can we, I feel like people
were nitpicking Bryson a little bit earlier.
It's like, wait a second here, man.
Like this is the other side of this coin is like, you can get put in a blender by this golf
course really quickly.
He looked really uncomfortable on the short putts.
Had to, you know, the greens were tougher in the afternoon.
You know, missed short putts on seven, eight and ten.
And then miss some, you know, 50, 50 balls on both 16 and 17.
It did seem like there was the, what the fuck are you doing you, Roy,
fucking McElroy moment when he got to 9T and he pulled driver to the roar from the crowd
and just piped it and put it on the green with the group ahead of him still on the green.
I did not see that.
I did not see, did not see people driving nine.
Disgraceful that there wasn't a tracer on that ball because that was like one of the shots of the year, I feel like.
But got bird made Bertie there, 13, 15, and 18.
But we missed his interview afterwards.
I don't know what he had to say after it.
I'm watching it right now here on Golf Channel.
But he is adopting the driver strategy.
There was, I mean, his distances off the T.
He had a 352 ball, 372 ball, 3.89, ball, 338, 360.
And then, you know, kind of hurting win on 18 hit at 310.
Like I think we're going to see a lot more drivers out of him again tomorrow.
But not good, not good.
Fitz.
Fitz, I will say, disappointing, T.C.
I mean, that was a, Cody, again,
I was pumped about that pick.
Don't,
don't beat yourself off on this one.
That's what I would have done as well.
Yeah,
it's just,
everybody,
Cody,
is he gone?
He might have ducked out.
Maybe,
yeah,
I don't know.
Maybe he bounced.
It's,
every time,
man,
every time you think Fitz is going to do it.
It just doesn't happen.
You know,
it's like,
it's like this third time this year.
We're just like,
okay,
he's proven it.
He's run through the door.
It's time to,
time to,
you know,
time for a big moment.
And it's,
yeah,
you get around like,
this. It's frustrating.
Yeah. I feel like I got the right fits.
You did.
Yeah.
Anything the speed contingent that we would like to address.
This was not, this one's not on me.
Randy, this is your, you're building your franchise around this guy.
I heard it on the draft yesterday.
You're just trying to sell, you're trying to sell tickets, man.
You're trying to sell hot dogs and popcorn.
Yeah, yeah.
No, that's right.
That's right.
I think we can get the eulogy ready for for Sunday.
I don't think there's anything there, guys.
And really, that's the saddest thing.
I'm just not like, there's nothing left to say at this point.
Yeah.
This is as low as I've been in terms of, I, there was just no hope.
I felt zero hope.
I felt nothing when he was fucking up all over the place today.
I felt, I felt nothing.
Back of the drawing board.
I don't know what the next step is, man.
I really don't.
But the track, like,
he made a tracker quit today.
One of his,
one of his trackers quit.
I wouldn't read too much into that, though.
That tracker only started in March.
Yeah, but it was Speath underscore camp underscore probably.
Like,
that's not an easy handle to get.
Like, you know,
they're fighting over really primo handles like this.
There are,
other trackers,
other trackers were beeping with each other.
Like,
just tearing this,
whack hardles is tearing this family apart.
He's tied with
He's
He's he's
He's tired with David Duvall
H.E.
Mason Howell
Casey Jarvis
Jackson Buchanan
Or Jack Buchanan
Not Jackson Buchanan
Sam Burns
Dub
Yeah not a good day for dub
As a dub respecter
That's a tough one for me to wear
But Randy I did want to kind of go back
If you like
The tracker culture fascinates me
I think maybe we should do a
There might need to be a contest at some point
where the loser has to become a tracker.
And I was going to ask you, Randy,
who if you were going to sign up right now,
who do you think you would?
Where is there an underserved spot in the market
where you think you could maybe make some waves as a tracker?
God, put me on the spot with that one.
I don't know.
It would be open for suggestions, I guess, as a cop-out.
I think maybe even like,
I think the problem's been people limiting this to, like, players.
You know, there could be like a concept
Braynall tracker.
Concept tracker or, yeah,
some sort of media trackers or something like that.
Maybe just something to noodle for later than that.
I mean, a grow the game tracker,
like where is the game,
who's talking about growing the game?
Where's the game being grown?
Something like that would be of interest.
I think that can be good.
But anyways,
yeah, we do wish the best of the feuding speed trackers.
Yeah.
Is the celebration of life on Friday or is it on Sunday, I think is the
either.
Yeah.
I mean, he should just go ahead and miss the cut.
Like, don't draw this out, man.
He's going to battle.
Come on.
He's got too much pride.
He's going to make the cut.
We're going to do it on Sunday.
The 15 footers like all miss the hole by multiple cups.
Like they're not, they're not like burning edges, guys.
They're not like in the ballpark.
Yeah.
what uh yeah what if i told you he putted a lot better than he hit his irons today would that make you
better no wouldn't randy it's yeah it's it's really wild to just hear him talk and i do actually
believe what he's saying where he's like man what's frustrating is like on any given day
i can just do any of these things at a world-class level and it's just a men in black or like
a roulette machine that's just like what it's almost like a like an instagram grid like
You can only have one of these superpowers per day.
What are you,
what are you choosing?
You have a $10 budget.
Yeah.
He's got to solve the ruse.
The rubik's kind of like one face all good.
He turns it around.
He's like,
oh, shit.
100%.
That's what it is.
All right.
We've been talking about the speed for like 10 minutes now.
He's a content kid.
We got to shit on the English a little bit more.
Justin Rose,
Harry Hall,
Matthew Jordan.
Did you just P?
Your first round pick, Pete?
Like, are we going to...
I already did.
I said he didn't play well.
Are you going to give us a little bit more than that?
Plus two.
No, we'll see if he's got any grit to him tomorrow.
You were dreaming of spraying Chardonnay or celebrating with Chardonnay with L.J.
Okay.
You have Chardonnay in champagne, but you don't...
You would not be spraying Chardonnay.
That's for sure.
Nobody will be.
I guess, I guess Team Rose has...
a neck he's got a neck injury pee drop the oath keepers he's no longer an oath
keeper uh his lip his lip he's his lip healed too uh uh harry hall 77 and then randy i know you're
fired up about this walko oh my god pick second round second round i took walko thinking hey you know
he had a good u s oak was gonna have tommy john surgery after open that 20 made up
the one hole he goes out 33 76 today get out of here not a serious person not a serious golfer
that's all i got guys we went literally all the way down the leaderboard uh did you weigh it on ludwig
no i'm not ready to diagnose that quite yet i think we might need to unplug him and then plug
him back in and and let him seems yeah i think he might be reheating like you know overheating and then we
I need to blow on the cartridge a little bit, just let him cool down.
I might have blown a capacitor.
It might be like my air conditioning unit last week.
Yeah, hope it's an easy fix.
You see, if we get a technician out there.
It's a tough time of year.
You just don't know until he'd get under the hood, though.
That's right.
Especially all these data centers are growing in, man.
A lot of these technicians are tied up.
100%.
Everybody's high on the hog.
Yeah.
Oh, Godspeed, Ty Duval today.
I'm just now seeing this.
What do you think wins?
Do you think it's like just a steady progression and it's like 11?
You're talking about speed with like the driver or the butting or the I think I don't know.
It's kind of like that.
14.
I mean it doesn't look easy, man.
Yeah.
It was 14 last time, right?
Or was it 13 last time?
14 last time?
Yeah, I'm kind of thinking in that 10?
maybe.
Sunday, Sunday looks like the windiest,
if based on the last I'd seen.
But not like windy,
but windiest.
Like I don't think we're headed towards,
I think the easiest we're going to see it
is both of the,
like the morning today and the morning tomorrow
is the last,
it's going to be easy for any of the leaders.
So I'd be surprised if it,
if it got too low out there.
I think we're just going to get four days
and really good solid golf.
Like we're not going to have,
it's not tricked up.
It's not.
And it's not epic.
It's not like the greatest golf.
It's not like the most exciting thing you're ever going to see.
I think the dream, you know, the hope is something.
Yeah, the hope is that something really exciting happens on like the best possible conditions, you know, you're going to see.
But it doesn't mean, you know, I don't know.
I feel like there are people like they were hating on today in some way.
Like this course is boring and dull.
I'm just like, okay, we just like different things about golf then if that's the case, which is fine.
That's and that's fine.
It's totally fine.
Well, and I'm in such a better mood tonight because I was.
watching the world feed broadcast all day do.
And I'm sorry,
it's not available to the public,
but if you want us to be less bitchy
during the course of a week,
that's what we have to watch.
I was furious this morning,
watching Scotty get to 400 through 6
and just like,
I'm watching on TV,
they go to commercial and just like,
they just didn't show his T-shot on 7,
the par 3.
And he made bogey.
Like, it was just like,
and it's,
they film it.
Like, it's coming from the world feed.
They, like,
NBC just,
straight up as like, you don't need to see that.
We're going to show commercial instead.
We're not even going to cut to it when we get back.
It had me so furious.
So it's like, I'm not watching.
Yeah, whatever.
It's NBC.
Yeah, I went straight to the world feed and I will not be turning back.
Just the commentary is so much better.
There's more crowd shots and just, it's just a vibe.
It's just tasteful.
Yeah.
It's a vibe.
It just feels like golf.
Can I tell you guys, Henrik Stenson, unlikely, unlikely.
kind of first page of the leaderboard love seeing stenson up there great quote great great
bloke always funded to have him involved he had a big letter hat on and it took me like significant
research to understand what it's what it was saying that's what they're and wd yeah i i did not know
i wasn't familiar with crownwood someone said it was corn wad which uh which uh which really made me
corn pops brother which really made me laugh a lot of people were like oh it's crowned but then like the
letters would be switched.
It wouldn't have made sense if it was crowd.
I did understand.
Yeah, after that it was it was Crownwood,
which is the course that I didn't know.
Enric was designing,
co-designing and co-owning a golf course.
So wishing him were...
That's where
that's where flushing it's from.
Bob up, TC.
That's why I didn't go to the open.
I didn't have my lutes with me.
I wasn't mobbed up enough.
Oh, cord wide.
I mean, there's a lot of great bunker shot out.
I mean, there's a lot of great bunker shot, bunker, you know,
legs bunker stuff today, had Decky's bunker shot.
Today, I don't know if you guys saw this, like he got down onto his knees and just
this image right here of just how far he's leaning forward and he hit such a sick
bunker shot on this one.
This was just one of the highlights of the day.
You couldn't really appreciate how far he was leaning forward from this angle that you're
looking at right here.
hit it to like 10, 12 feet out of that bunker.
I don't think he made it probably because it's a de Kyi,
but it was still a really, really, really, really fun moment.
Oh, that's great.
Favorite holes?
What hole do you guys perk up on the most?
I liked watching the shots into 17.
Like I think that was circled before the week,
but those second shots coming in there,
even some of the third shots coming in there were thrill.
What did you have TC? I got 5, 7, 17, 18. Those are probably my four right now. I like 10 a lot.
I think 10 with a really good pin is going to be awesome. 10 was very good. Didn't see a lot of
one, a whole lot of one today. I really like that that first toll. They didn't show a ton of those
first, first several holes. Six, six played really hard today. I mean, it's a, like you said,
D just converted into a par four. It's basically like a par five. But just watching guys,
cut it, try to hit one over the corner there, but making sure it had the right shot shape to
not run through the fairway going right to left. When Scottie did that early on, I was like,
oh, here comes Bryson. He's going to try to hook it around the corner and it's going to run through.
And no, Bryson did not try to hook it. He hit a nice straight ball that bounced forward out of the
rough into the fairway. And I don't know, the T shots are still really, really interesting on this
course. And I was, I was delighted in what we saw today.
I think six is a good one too because it's that bunker play, like that bunker on the left side of the
green place so much larger than
than its stated footprint.
I mean, it might as well be a
40 foot
catch basin there that
it's just a piece of gravity.
Somebody's got to step in and say
Vic Hovlin from Jay
Lindberg. It's
the white stripe down the side of the pants
is just somebody's got to help
him out.
It's not, you know what, I saw your guys
note on that this morning as I was catching up
on DVR.
I got up like an hour after you guys.
And I saw the shirt.
It was almost like a pan down.
And I saw the shirt first.
I was like,
that's not that bad.
And then the pants.
I was like,
oh,
the stripe is,
yeah,
that's,
that's tough.
The tuxed is a little Saturday night fever sort of.
Yeah,
just a little strange.
Tough day for our guy,
Matthew Jordan.
He shot seven over today.
I believe the streak is kind of coming to an end there.
But even for Brooks,
I don't know if we touched on that one.
kind of a quiet little day for him.
Shane Lowry had a good round going.
He got a little pissed off as one does on 13, 14, 15,
making a much bogeys in a row,
but made a lot of birdies today.
I mean, one, two, three, four, five birdies today.
Solly Tom Kim is hanging, hanging in.
Must credit, Sali.
He's hanging in.
What do you shoot today?
Even.
Okay.
He's around.
He's around.
If you had to,
if you had to update your.
a pick would you change your pick from from whatever you picked pre tournament and what would it be as of
right now i'll stay yeah i picked i picked tommy which is uh you know not ideal at the moment but uh
yeah i'll stay why not why not i mean scottie's gonna win but i'll i'll i'll stay on tommy i'd
love to come off rory uh and and and switch to scotty of course but uh it's not the way
it works not the way it works that's right i think it's a great great couple days what times wake up time
tomorrow i loved my playbook today i loved my strategy you know it's great very strategic
up at five record record everything and you can you can speed through those commercials uh just a cup
of coffee quiet house it's lovely cody anything we missed nothing just a quick uh looking at our
draft where we're sitting at dj i'm sorry but uh we're bringing up the rear
I think we know that.
We got tons of room to run tomorrow.
So I think we're in a,
we're in an okay spot.
Nobody's,
nobody's getting out ahead.
We're okay.
We need a couple bounce backs from a couple of major champs tomorrow and fits and,
and dub.
And we're going to be just fine.
I feel like I'm rooting for two different,
I'm rooting for my team and for Sally's team.
Because I got all your guys.
It's a really weird feeling.
Solly,
if I could,
I'm going to give away $100 tonight to the,
The Nolangup Pro Shop.
Tonight was hashtag strategy, of course.
This is, oops, I hope it's not, no, don't draw myself, please.
There you go.
Fabian Ghiardi, if you're still here, you are the winner of $100 to the Nolangup Pro Shop.
