And then kind of a sick week at Windham. I enjoyed it. There's a lot to talk about tonight. As you mentioned, we're going to chat about Michael Brennan's breakthrough at Windham. We're going to put a close on the regular season on the PGA tour. We got a new Fedora 5. I'm getting word.

As you mentioned, Neil went to live Bedminster on Thursday. We had to record that section earlier because he was fighting a power issue on his vacation. That is an electric visit that'll come later. We had a ton of live news this week that we're going to react to and more. And as mentioned, the U.S. women's amateur as well. Astris Talley, the bright star wins the United States women's amateur at the honors course. We had Frankie Harris, he shot at 59 in the final round to win. win the Pinnacle Bank Championship on the Corn Ferry Tour.

Walking Neiman wins Live Bedminster. The Crushers got the team victory as well. Anna, you want, Ewing won the LAT Piff London Championship as well. But the big one, Michael Brennan, your winner and Wyndham got it done gaming a full bag of titles to Quitman. A few quick notes here, 76% of the field this week trusted a titleless golf ball,

You know, T.C., I know you're fraud. Solly, you're down. You're down bad right now. First Foxy. You're just recovering from that. Literally, we want to. I was like, fuck, another top young player just ruined for me by TC just absolutely ruins most golfers for me. And we have yet another one that's ruined for me. He was, he was battling it down the stretch.

He goes in that divot on 17. He had the lefts for a while, kind of lost his speed on the greens. It was kind of electric to watch. And then, I mean, hostler's fucking slow playing him all day. It was good stuff, man. This is, uh, you know, if you don't know what we're, we're referencing for. from the beginning. The much like the Fador 5, which we're going to hear from later, T.C. our 10 best players without a major. That list is a forward looking index as well. You know,

we had Michael Brennan in that ceremonial 10 spot that Michael. I can't believe I have to put my name on this. And so we've just been right. The Brennanites have just been riding waiting to be delivered again like we were last year in Utah. And it was just, uh, he got it done, man. He, he, he polished it off with a TC on the front nine, five birdies in a row. And he's just, he's just really fun to watch. He seems like a good guy off the golf course, interesting switched on guy. And there's something just electric about his, his game, his look. He's got our guy, Ollie Brett on the bag. It's just a fun combo. And it really made, I don't know, kind of made Wyndham shine in a way that it doesn't always from year to year. You know,

I just had a, yeah, had a really fun time watching it today. His parents seem like normal, delightful human beings. I think his moms are rules official. How about this? His dad, air traffic controller, his mom passed the rules expert certification. My guy, Michael's,

he's a letterboxed guy. I was going back and forth with, with my guy Paul from the PJ tour, who I usually talk about movies with out on site. And I'm going to, I don't know if, you know, I don't want to air out Michael's letterbox.

There's some really good stuff. There's some really concerning stuff. Two stars for There Will Be Blood is like shocking. But then he was showing a lot of respect to little women which Randy and I both like just so we can we can take that offline but uh yeah interesting and then his brother I don't have you guys caught his post around presser his brother won a member guest today too so Michael was saying he's like now all four of us me my dad my brother and my mom have all what the member or the club championship sorry sorry not member guest

club championship which is just good just good stuff so they seem like very interesting people and they're very interesting to watch play golf or at least Michael I haven't really watched the rest of the family play it's a proper win yeah like you can't really fake like it's a it's a course that favors driving accuracy you can't fake it out of the rough there the the greens were there's enough shortgrass around them they're really grainy they're fast uh your iron play's got to be on it was it was a true test of golf i felt like and you know the scores are low it's par 70 scores are low but like you got to hit the shots like sallie i know you were saying hey i'd love to see a you know, a restoration similar to Detroit.

I don't know if you can do that. I did not say that. I did not say that. I watched a, you referenced. There was a great restoration of a Donald Ross golf course last week. And you said, Winda, you, the one that brought this up, you were like, I think Wyndham could really use a great restoration to do it. And I said, man, I would love to see this, like that, that was a light bulb for me.

Like, I can't think of a golf course on the PCA tour that would be better off getting a restoration. No, you can't do the same exact restoration you did. in Michigan as you do in South Carolina, but like the, it's still, it looks like a golf course. North Carolina. Excuse me,

North Carolina. Come on and raise up. It is a golf course that has some great bones to it, but isn't really, it is not living up to its full and complete potential. And as on the news front, like if this becomes a, as it sounds like Raymond James is going to be sponsoring,

this event going forward as a championship level event, I would like to see it get redone. I doubt that's, you know, unless it was already in the works, I don't think that's necessarily going to fit into a timeline. But yeah, I think it, is it Ray J. Because there's so much slope on the greens. There's so much going on with like, and they did the best job I think CBS has ever done on like the worm cam of,

like the worm cam on the three foot. Scottie Jeffler wins the Ray J. Was Ray J the one that was Dayton Kim Kardashian? one in the video dating is a string is a churching it up a little bit allegedly i heard he's the one of the video what the fuck must talk about three foot puts with grain after that sorry there's so much slope going on now you're saying so like strokes gained something Strzok's game could play in that category there as well Jesus

Well, listen, Sally doesn't hate Michael Brennan. I don't believe, but we had a lot of fun on Slack, pretending like you do. You had a lot of fun on Slack. Yeah, yeah. V and DC had a lot of fun with that. But I think it is to get back into it a little bit. He wins in Utah.

last fall coming on the sponsor exemption just like basically out of nowhere. I mean, had been playing amazing on PJ Tour Americas, but just right to the, you know, doesn't pass go, just goes right for it and wins on the PJA tour. And I got to imagine it's been just a weird,

you know, going on a year since then, right, to like have the security, but be playing different golf courses, trying to figure out what's going on with this game, probably has very high expectations, probably wasn't always meeting them.

It's just, I just find him to be a very interesting player at a very young, a young age, you know, and I think he's like, we've made it this far without saying it. But like, he's, he's kind of the, the third of this three-headed monster that we've seen with Coyvin and Thorbjornson and now him that, like, it feels like something real is happening on kind of the young stars front for the first time since when. I was thinking about it today. Is it like the Hovlin, Matt Wolf, Morikawa class? feels like it feels like they feel like guys with more similar you know sealing more upside than than just like because i think a few years ago we had what tom kim and a few other guys but it didn't feel like it was more ceiling of guys since then i would not say they have more sealing than the morocawa hovlin group but most sealing since since those guys it's it's brennan's interesting

because i don't know how to describe it because there's a way of describing him that does sound like a ball speed imposter that is like, hey, there's a million of you out on the corn fairy tour. And there's a way of describing him that's like, hey, you are really, really fast, but also different in a way that like people talk about you just a little bit differently and are projecting you out a little bit differently. And the rumblings have been out there about the talent. And it is a short game and putting issue for the most part. I mean, he's an excellent, excellent driver of the ball extremely fast. He was touching 190 ball speed today. And he won on a golf course that doesn't really even favor distance that much.

And his iron play is above average as well. He's a good player. He missed 12 greens all week. And his seventh percentile short game was not tested very strongly. That is kind of where the weakness has come in and why he was 105th in the FedEx Cup coming into this week and needed to win our top two, I think, to get into the playoffs and did it. And has been on a furious, furious run of golf.

And don't know all the details of like what he's been working on and what the struggles have been like necessarily. fairly up to this, but we got a little, we've got a look at the last three weeks, really, at the actual talent level. The Sundays were bad the last couple of weeks, and we might even be talking about them a little bit differently, uh, where not for those bad Sundays the last couple weeks. I was going to say he, like, it's, it's kind of a, like, I know he won in Utah, but sticking his nose in it three weeks in a row. Like he, he, at 3M, he shot 74 in the final round to finish T-24, uh, 73 in the final round, the rocket to finish T-12.

15 and and then shoots 64 today. And it's like you got to learn how to win. You got to you got to get you just got to get it over the line. And even I think even today we saw some of those gremlins coming out for sure.

Which made it like you like you said it just it makes you kind of attached to to a player. Right? When it's you see somebody who just looks invincible in birdies five holes in a row and just is throwing darts all of a sudden just snip one off the teeth. and look shell-shocked and kind of start speeding up their routine a little bit.

And it's just all that stuff just makes for a great, a great watch. But I feel like game-wise, it's this is, it's kind of a diet version of this. I mean, Cam Young is Cam Young, but it feels a little like Cam Young, you know, where it was the elite driver is there just kind of above-average ball striking kind of in the hunt a lot, but needed to figure out that putter. And, I mean, he's talked about working with a new coach. and flipping things on that front over the last month or so. And it seems like your path to give you was second this week on the Greens.

And, you know, it's just there's a lot of guys like this. But like, man, when you catch somebody who hits it that long, hits it that straight, and then starts making putts. It's just that's going to be their week. Yeah. Yeah. It's, I don't know what to. Tough got to project out, right?

It's, it's, we saw this. We've seen the last couple weeks yet, again, he was outside the top 100 coming into this week. I don't, the floor isn't necessarily very high, I don't think, on him, but I think we can all, everyone would agree the ceiling is. And we'll probably learn a lot more about him here in the next three weeks, I think, honestly. That said, Solie, like I think, you know, since he started playing the PJ Tour late last year, last fall, he made four of four cuts in the fall last year.

He made 17 of 23 cuts this year. And then had a DQ in there at Tori for the Greens book. thing but um i mean like that that's pretty strong golf just from a consistency perspective made the cut it all four majors which is something to hang your hat on like i think there's some there's some signs there that we're looking at someone who uh kind of goes against some of the stereotypes that go along with a guy that just hits the ball really really far and well he's yeah i don't know he talked a lot about that too like you know he picked up allie you When was that?

That was earlier this spring, I think, that they first got together. But he's talked about a lot of game management stuff, a lot of like, man, I was, there was a lot of times earlier this year where I'd have back pins and I just wouldn't respect him. And I'd fly him over, I'd fly it over the green and make, like, needless bogeys. And just tightening up like little tiny stuff, like figuring out his strategy and his game management stuff is where it's like, man, he's 24 and still kind of in his rolling first year on the PJ tour. And he's got two wins. you know, it's going to. That's the part he did so well today, too. Yes.

It was like every time he was out of position, like when he's in the divot on 17, that was such a good shot. He just, his approach shots were left in such good spots all day. Even if the T shots were not going well, that's the advantage you get of being long off the T and when you are inaccurate, it's wedge, but executing the wedge shots, leaning in the right spots and having almost no stress on all the pars today was massive. He had such a good, like he flew it on one, he flew the green on one or like, you know, it was a, it was a pretty, like he was coming out of the rough from the level.

left side, not a great angle. And it ran over the back. And he played the nastiest little bump shot up on one and then got up and down. And then, you know, just kind of eased into the round. But I think it's like it's extra impressive as well because over the last two or three years, like, nobody has played their way into the playoffs at this event. I think there's like two guys that have played. I think Chris Kirk's like the only one that's, that's, that's come from.

from outside the top 70 and played his way into the playoffs. Otherwise, it's just been like very, very. The guys have come from outside the top 70 in, but not like to win and get in, like to come from way out, that almost never happens into this one. There's usually a little bit of churn on those final spots, but like to come from way out and earn your spot in is extremely rare.

But there was an abnormal, abnormal lack of churn at the bottom this year. Only I think two guys moved in this week. Or was Brennan the only one? I don't know. exactly because Coyvin started the week at 70 and stayed there at 70 and then which is so sick by the way

I mean I know you guys went deep on him at the 3M when he won but it's to come off of I think I saw the PJ tour tweet something that he's basically the first ever PJ tour accelerated player to play a full season in college come onto the PJ tour and make it in the playoffs all in the same year and it reminds me a little bit of I was working on a project and looking up some stuff about speed. We're not going to talk about speed long, I promise.

But just looking back at that 2013 season, and when he, because he won at John Deere, it's very similar, right? Like the events were only a couple weeks apart. Because he wanted that John Deere, having a win made him eligible for, that's what made him eligible for the playoffs. That's what made him eligible for the President's Cup.

Like getting through there made him like a natural pick for the President's Cup. Then, you know, he gets into Augusta because of the win. he finishes runner up then he wins the next year it's just kind of this like very uh very cool tale off of the speith kind of challenger-esque event win and the coivan stuff kind of feels like it's set up similarly i know we're going to get to president's cut talk uh later but uh it's i'm glad he has at least one hopefully three more weeks of pj tour golf ahead of him to watch so you're not going to believe this but chris kirk's the only guy over the last two years to go from outside the top 70 to inside the top 70 at the Wyndham.

Really? It's been quite, it's been very boring the last couple years. It's been like zero churn at all at this event. Wow, that is surprising. And there should have been more this week. Like Davis Thompson had a, he had an albatross. And if he made any number of short pots from inside of eight feet, he would have gotten way inside the top 70.

But he kind of bottled it down the stretch. The detective made a run. He came up short. You've got Matt Wallace almost hold it on the 72nd hole to get in after missing a pretty makeable birdie putt on 71st hole. He thought he had gotten in, you know, Ben James gave it a run. Andrew Novak, I still think we need to get him on the team. but he's outside outside the top 70 outside moved from 80th to 70 third but in but in theory

in theory we did have about the team davis thompson first and approach and almost dead last in putting which is always a kind of the hoganesque uh week for him what did you guys think a hostler that's a loaded question tc that's that's doing us a little dirty i'll i'll jump on the grenade i did not have a fun time watching bohossler i have always i feel like i've always had a soft spot for him in my head i got to meet him i remember at the 2011 u.s. open first major i ever covered he qualified when he was like a kid fun story you know got to talk to him and write a little thing about him and i've always kind of just thought that i liked watching him more than i did and yeah it's just it's slow it's a little it's very mopey it's just just kind of

just no thanks seems like a lovely guy in person no offense to anybody but not not my bitching about not my he was like that's five lies in a row bad lies yeah i was i was given his caddy all sorts of yeah it just doesn't look it looked did not look fun i was just it's easy to root for brennan in in that pairing today that's well which i respected uh emelman Trevor emmielman and the other guys in the broadcast except for colt made an awful joke he was like we're gonna have to turn 60 minutes into 45 i thought that was a good joke i kind of like that one i thought that was good but they were they were some stick for because they were they were warned pretty early on their their pace yeah the bad kind of

slow to the one that's slower over the ball and it's just like you can't cut away you can't do anything uh in relation to that but yeah that was easy easy rooting interest uh yeah that tells you how big of a fan i am despite despite knowing how much tc gloating we were going to get tonight uh that was rude for bernan that's big of me very big of me how about ben james having a 62 and a significant on the on the card this week. I call him the the microwave man. Yeah, I think he has to be. I mean,

I don't if we've seen anybody just be more hot and cold. And obviously very, very, very young still figuring it out. But certainly seems like the, the upside, the downrange speed is there. If he gets it going, just seems like it tends to blow up on the launch pad every now and again. It doesn't seem to have a whole lot of feel for the game.

10 and 11 shots swings between I think that's happened like three or four times already this year it's crazy uh was where was that travelers or something was not travelers where was it that he he took the first round round yeah Canada Canada's Canada yeah yeah yeah like took the first round lead and and then I don't if he missed the cut or almost no it was round three Saturday he that's what he blew up that 79 or something yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I mean he's got what T 15 at the Isco, T4 at Punta Kana, and then now third at Wyndham. Really impressive stuff. I mean, he's made, what, he's made over a million dollars in eight starts.

Yeah. This year. And yeah, he was, you know, all world, like, what, four-team first team all-year? Yeah. Four-time first team all-America at UVA. So, yeah, I just, I don't, like, Sally, we were talking about earlier this week, I'm not deriving a lot of joy from watching him play golf. It's just I don't know it like it like it just doesn't seem like there's there's a lot of

Game management going on or like it's just like not much artistry and there's not much flare I'm just going to hit it as close as I possibly can and yeah I don't know hence and maybe that's the reason it's the volatility I think yeah exactly yeah uh the future of this event a little bit you kind of alluded to it with the the championship track I think is super interesting something I did Nazi coming. Yeah. I think Josh Carpenter reported it today just right after the final putt drop that Raymond James is going to be picking up the sponsorship of this event.

And we talked about last week how I forget the name of the actual government entity that is proposing $40 million to help support the event as well for the long term to make sure it gets into the upper track of the PGA tour, which yeah, when we made out our mock schedule several months ago, we were not considering that Wyndham would have the opportunity need to move up into this track. But it creates an interesting, you know, part of the conversation I think we've had of like traditional PGA tour events versus bigger markets and new events,

like what wins out there. And I think it is a splashy thing to come in and say like, it jumps off the page of like, and it's been a conversation around professional PJ Tour golf for a long time. Why aren't you in a lot of these big cities? And the new brass comes in and says, yeah, we're going to go to all these big cities. And I think there might just be,

and this is just me theorizing a little bit of realization of the, the asset value you have in the longstanding events at places that are familiar, places that fans recognize on television that you, if you listen to the build out pod we've got coming out this week, that know how to set up the tournament and make your life easy as well. And you have financial support behind it. A smaller secondary market could be a good option. If the money's there for you,

I don't know why the PJ Tour would swerve out of their way to not go back to Greensboro. Yeah, I think I would even call this a tertiary market. Right. It's small, you know, but it's small, but it's, it's good. It is good. And I think it's, you know, I didn't know if they were really going to put their money where their mouth is or I guess if other people were going to put their money where their money needs to be in order to keep some of these events around. But when they said like, you know, there's a room for the green bay, you know, there's room for the green bay packers just like there's room for the. Whoever the cowboys and yada, yada, yada, on the PJ tour schedule.

I didn't know that they would actually, I didn't know how seriously they were going to take that. And it's, it's interesting to see some of the reporting. It sounds like maybe the events move into spring to create kind of like a little bit of a Carolina's sort of swing, which feels like a very, like a pretty jam-packed part of the schedule. That's awesome already. But I think it's awesome. And I think this event is one of those that, you know, it is one of the massive assets to the PJ tour is like you said, this history. And we've been going there for a while. and Ben Hogan won there and Sam Sneed one there and Charlie Sifford, you know, broke the color

barrier in the south there and like all of these different things. I just don't think this event has ever gotten that kind of shine, at least in my lifetime of watching the PJ tour. You know, it's one of those of you're like, oh, yeah, I know that's one of the oldest events, but like it's never seemed all that good, you know? And I think it's kind of cool to almost, they probably have a chance to almost like dust it off a little bit and breathe some more life into it. a great like what can be a really good venue so i think getting it almost feels like it's poised

for like what's happened to travelers over the last seven years 10 years you know where it's like that event always seemed it was good but it seemed kind of me and you know slow steady progress and having the right players and now all of a sudden you're like i remember scottie and i remember kent duke randomly and i remember jordan spieth and all of these like different memories that you kind of start thinking about these tournaments differently. It seems like it's poised to maybe have something similar. And a good tournament directors too. Yeah.

A better weather time period. Yeah. Also just get you a little bit more. It needs a little bit more vibe to it. Like it's kind of a, it's a quiet-ish event, but it's August in North Carolina. And if it's in the spring and I mean, we were kind of thinking there'd be a Eastlake signature event in the spring was kind of what we had mocked out in 2020. And Eastlake has said they don't want a spring event.

and they want to be in the tour championship rotation for the PGA Tour. Carpenter tweeted that. I'd say no thanks to that. We're good. We appreciate your offer. You'll hear from us. Yeah, we'll call you. If that's the case, like, I think you probably are deserving of hosting an event.

We've kind of been there on the August thing being the struggle. But all that to say, there's some spring stuff that maybe potentially opens up for something like that to fit in. And the other thing I would say, too, is that I think it's going to help this event to be out for under the stupid FedEx Cup amalgamations watch. You know, I just say exactly to your point around, like it's never as interesting as you think it is. We had the JT watch one year.

That was kind of fun, you know, but that was really fun, I should say. But other than that, it's always just kind of like, yeah, it's like,

is Davis Thompson going to play his way? And I'm like, I don't give a fuck, man. I don't care. If the playoffs were good, it could help it, right? That would make it,

that would be different. Yes. But if playoffs are not good. there's relegation after 20 years here if them not being good right well there's going to be a new model is my point we'll we'll see oh there will all there will uh i want to give a shout out to our friends at the stack most people probably know them as the speed training guys that's what a lot of people know me as they come up to me say you're one of the speed training guys uh too now sol and the stack you you got that 82 speed speed yet are we are we past that yet uh i hit 112 this a long long one

warm up. They're the number one speed trainer in golf and they just cross 50 million training swings, but they've quietly built out a lot more than just the speed training. Stack putting is the thing I'd probably highlight the most right now. Michael Kim has gone from 103rd to 16th in strokes gain putting. He's been racking up stack putting sessions at basically every tour stop this summer. He actually texted Sasha McKenzie recently and that he sent me this text message, so I've seen this.

To the point where I think some of these guys, like Wyndham's putter weighs 12 pounds. I think that he is essentially building a trench, a trough all the way from his ball to the hole.

It's like a half pipe almost. And I think it's a problem. Yeah, some World War I stuff going on. The dough boys are out there. Yeah, I'm out on it, D.C. I hate it. It's not good. It's not good. I don't know what you do about it.

This is another one of those. I would reiterate almost everything I said about Greensboro in that Memphis is a very old event. I think TPC Southwind is a good golf course for the PJ tour. Seems like it could be kind of one of those premier challenger type events. I would like to watch watch dudes play it still. but no idea how the sponsorship element of things work. But I was doing some reading and I like the,

I forget if this was Josh Carpenter or Bob Herig or some combination of both. So apologies, but it seems like the tour is going to be much more open to maybe having like group sponsorships of some of those Challenger events, which I think ends up making a ton of sense for some of those that are smaller like media properties to almost bring like three kind of proud partner

He got D so he didn't withdraw. He got DQed, I guess, today. He didn't follow the proper protocol to withdrawal and to notify official for an injury and things like that. like that it sounded like the weather was pretty bleak over there uh it sounded like he didn't want to be out there from what i've heard and conditioning was tough maybe he was trying to get he was trying to miss his tea time this morning was the report from monday q and for brian today and then block he's refuting it he was a sponsor exemption and there was rumors that he was complaining about the agronomy like the condition of the golf course which uh again i would i would hate for d t

to, you know, hear about that and possibly put, put Blocky on blast. For sure. This week as well. Yeah. We will monitor this. I've been looking forward to this vacation. And on the way out the door Thursday, I was like, you know what? I'm going to go to live. I'm going to go to Trump, Edminster. It's 24 minutes from where I live in New Jersey. And I bought two tickets.

They were $28 a piece. My father-in-law was going to come with me. Then he bailed on me. He couldn't go. He had a work thing. So I rolled solo down south. You know, you kind of take those backcountry roads, take me home to the place that I belong. And I went with an open mind, okay?

I wanted, I could almost feel the regret of six months from now. I was like, ah, this thing is no longer. And I never, I never went to one. So this is the first time I've been on site to a live event. No traffic. Literally almost no cars drove into the general parking lot. And I counted. I was in the back row.

There were about 540 cars would be my like pretty solid estimate. I was like, all right, cool. I got there at 1.30, I think like 130, 135. Shotgun start was at 105. So I was like, all right, I'm kind of in the, you know, it's not like it's all day like a normal golf tournament. It's, you know, you got to hit that shotgun, baby. It was like a 20 minute walk. We went through the metal detectors.

Everyone was like, welcome to the party. Some guy was like, yo, are you here alone? Like he was, I was like, yeah, man. He was like driving a courtesy cart. And he was going to give me a ride. And I was like, no, I got, you know, I had to use the back. Hey, check out. This guy's here alone.

Look, it's a trap. It's a trap. No, no car can be found. Is anyone going here? Yeah. So I'm walking and it's a long-ass walking. It's hot and humid. And I just want to say, first off, golf but louder. This place was wired. Sonos, baby. It wasn't Sonos, but it's just like the speakers, they have not, the build-out seems like it's dropped way, way down, like dramatically less build-out. Properties wired. Hooked up to these like portable Honda generators. There was probably a big ass speaker every 30 yards. and they're bumping some ambient club jams they'll mix in a top 40 jam every now and then but like songs I never heard

and songs that I was kind of vibing but I'm kind of feel like I'm out on the Serengetti like there's nobody else there so it kind of cuts both ways like I'm grooving a little bit but then you're like I'm at a party and nobody's here so it kind of you know it's kind of depressing

so anyway I get in like the main area they got Club 54 right behind the 18th green I was starving so I went and bought a what they called a jumbo dog for $11. It was like a miniature Thumans or Nathan's hot dog. And then I got a water. That was five bucks. So I'm up to, you know, 16 bucks right there.

Then they're asking me for a 20% tip. Auto default 20% tip. Guys, we talked about this on the trap drop. We don't like that. No cash accepted either. No cash. But Neil, those vendors might not be getting paid, dog. I know.

So, but I paid, I dropped it to 10%. I did tip them. But they didn't, I mean, they just grabbed the dog off the hot plate, you know. Anyway, I'm talking to these other, there were three frat bros at the concession stand with me. And they're complaining because one of them asked for a double Tito's and they charged them double. And he's like, you know, these drinks are 25 bucks, man. This is bullshit, you know. So not helping the party vibes.

That's my point. So TC, first thing, I get in there. Who's Tienoff on 10? Matt Leash and Maddie. And they're playing with Sebastian Munoz and. A guy, he was like a live free agent. I think he might be like the high flyers replacement. The Asian guy didn't, I can't, I don't actually don't know who it was.

So they're all the, the, all the caddies and the players throughout the day, they're all drinking out of those aluminum like country club cups, you know, like Trump Bedminster and they got straws in them and they're all like cheers in. I think there's like a Trump Bedminster slushy because they're all like the, and then there's team guys all wearing the same uniform and they're like giving them the, um, the Ripper guy came up behind 16 and gave Maddie a couple new ones and Leach was like, oh, thank you, man, and they're like cheers in the

slushies. So, they're in shorts, they're all wearing socks and it's like matching, you know, like team unies. It just feels like a member guest. It's crazy. They're like hitting range finders, you know? And then like nobody, like, so it was three, yeah, like, like, but

now you're out, like I'm on 10 green and 11 and there's like one or two speakers a whole now and so it gets a little bit like, I don't know. You can hear the club jams off in the distance, but now you can also hear the wind. And so you're like the only guy out there.

There were three players in the group, three caddies, that's six. And I counted five volunteers. So I'd say 11, let's call it 12. And there was a walking score. So let's say 12, 13 people. There were two other humans. It was me and three others.

There was me, a dad and his son. And then these guys are signing autographs in between holes, which I thought was sick. I was like, you know, I mean, And I mean, they're going from 10 to 11 TC. Maddie was like, Neil, what's up? I'm like, Maddie, what's up, man? Like, it was like, it was sick.

So that was fun. I saw a ton of golf. Who comes through next? Peter Uline, big homies got a towel on his shoulder. The only time he took it off was to hit like driver. He was chipping with a towel on his shoulder. He was putting with a towel on his shoulder. He's got this huge mustache.

I mean, he's a vibe. And I'm like, I'm like, man, I haven't thought about Peter Uline in like three years. Like, whoa. And so I hate to say this. this because it's going to sound mean, but I'm going to send it. It felt like being at the zoo. I was like, holy shit, check it out. But, like, you know when you go to the zoo and there's a lot of people there, it's

really fun? You know when you go to a zoo and there's not a lot of people there? It's kind of depressing. Like, oh, man, there's Paul Casey. Like, man, I hope that, like, he's getting fed, you know? Like, it's hot out here. And, like, are they taking care of these guys? You know, like, and Bubba, I see Bubba.

He's wearing pants. And he, he dumps one on 18, like, from 80 yards. just spins it back in the water, didn't even react. And I'm like, man, that kind of sucks. Like, there's just, you just this feeling of like, it doesn't matter. You know what I mean? Like, he just, like, gave his wedge to the cat. He walked up, like, no big deal.

So not a lot of scores. And then the announcer, then there's like a MC on 18, because I, this is after I saw you line that I went back over to 18, Club 54, you know, there's like the, the premium hospitality. There's like one big hospitality area. Go back over. and there's an emcees like welcome to the 18th green you know bubble watts for the range goats you know yeah and he's just like mike sposa you know it's just like what day we did there you

uh i was there thursday so there's like into i was bubba's best best round of the week she had 69 77 78 78 74 and his range go and all i can comment on is i i just the general energy is like ah you know man And I just was like from 80. I was like, damn, from 80 yards. Like what the hell was that? So anyway, what I will say this. I went over to, I wandered over to nine and there were finally, I'm like, okay, here's some, here's a crowd. Probably, and I counted.

It was just under 100 people around nine green. It was Neiman, Bryson, and Lucas Herbert. And that was the biggest crowd I saw. Bryson's, I think, four over through eight holes. The shotgun sucks, guys. You don't know where anybody is. There's only one scoreboard. It's on 18.

So like that, you could leave the music. I'm cool with the music. Take the shotgun start away. I'm so out on that. And I found that very frustrating. I didn't know where anybody was. And there's just no way to track anything. And so Bryson comes through and he's all, he's all pissy, candidly.

Like, he's just not happy. Herbert hits one basically into the patio. They're trying to give him TIO. He refuses to take it. It's a filthy flop shop. from like the lawn next to the patio. And I got this picture of his caddy that looks like David Letterman with the slushy in one hand and the rangefinder in the other

in shorts and high socks. I'm like, this is it, man. Like I'll send it to you guys. It is an epic, epic picture. And I was like,

if I had to sum up, if someone was like, yo, what's live golf all about it? Like, here's the picture. Check this shit out. So,

and then Neiman, I will give Team Torque credit. They've got, they look like an F1 team. A lot of support. staff in the crowd and they're all wearing the like uh turquoise gear with like the tea is like you know it looks like it's going real fast and then the wags we're all wearing matching uh pink like skin tight uh sports dresses and so it was like that's team torquay i saw them you know i was like

oh there they are uh i think neman's golf club nealke golf club nymphs girlfriend or wife she had two french bulldogs in like one of those beach carts and she's pushing them And she's working. Like she's sweating. She's got these two dogs out there with her. And they're going and getting slushies for Neiman. You know, their cheers in the crowd. I'm dead serious.

It's like out in the crowd among the people. It was sick. So another, let me just get through this. Another couple things before my lights go out, you can see I'm struggling with power at the beach here. I will give them credit. The team vessel bags, they're running circles around the OEMs on the PGA tour.

Thomas Dietrich's got a Celsius sponsorship. And I'm like, how do you get that? It's just, just Celsius, you know, the caffeine drink that makes you feel like you're going to make T.C. freak out.

I'm like, man, I guess, uh, I guess Dietrich is just getting hyped. But like, Celsius isn't like a live sponsor. So that was interesting to me.

But I think if I had to paint you a picture, like, sum it all up. I wander over to 16, kind of as I'm leaving, and Blandi's teeing off, T.C. And he's got pants on. He looks old. And the DJ had switched it up to more. You know, to be fair, he is old. He is old. So DJ had flipped on Morgan Wall and, you know, when you're thinking about me.

And I think the line is, as he's pulling back, pulling the trigger on a three iron, it's uh are you tasting what he's drinking when you're thinking about me and i just i don't there's something there i wrote it down i was like i don't know man it just felt like such a juxtaposition of like i'm like richard bland morgan wallen nobody's watching and then i'm thinking like what if richard bland was doing one of those walkouts with them you know when it's like walking into like you know neiman stadium in tennessee and like Peyton manning's walking about like what if Richard Bland was doing that, you know. And I was like, God, that would make T.C. so happy.

But just, like, the music with, like, some deeply uncool people. Like, it works when, like, Anthony Kim comes through. I watched him come through. And it's like, oh, man, yeah, like, he's got swag. But then it's like, well, then, you know, Sebastian Munoz and. Plandy. I'm like, I just, this isn't really working for me. And, guys, again, I'm being generous here.

And, you know, the trolls are like, oh, your pictures are, you're taking pictures of the edge of the problem. There were no more than 2,000 people there. No more. I mean, there were more support staff. That was the most stars to attended men's golf tournament. It was crazy.

And so, you know, maybe a little plug for our Tuesday episode. We're coming out with an episode about a tournament buildout, like the BMW championship and all that goes into building a PGA tour event. And what I found interesting is like in doing that project, on the PGA tour, the stakes are getting ramped up every year. I think they've figured out that like going to a golf.

tournament in the middle of summer in most markets sucks it's hot it's sweaty you worn out like you almost like want to pass out sometimes especially because like it's it costs a lot to buy food or whatever so they're building out these massive hospitality cities and lives go in the opposite direction there's one build out and it's just there's not like my takeaway was there's just not a lot of momentum my light just went out so that's tough but um you look great and so I'm glad that I I saw it in person. And you know, you'll say like, oh, you're, you know, you're biased or whatever. I'm just like, you know, what I saw was like, I saw a lot of golf, which is the positive.

I saw the players having a pretty good time as they should. But I'm like, man, we put $6 billion into this thing. Like, this is tough, man, you know? And like, I don't know, I did, I will say this. I bought some Crusher's stickers. I bought a live golf sticker. And I bought a T-shirt because I liked the montage design on the back. I was hoping we saw

with Maruos logos that's similar TC so I'm going to show Casey that and the merch tent was interesting like all the different there's maybe something there on like team golf and the gear but out on the course like other than the support staff the only logo I saw was Crusher's gear and like I think

that logo is do like tremendously lame so that's just my take that's my on the ground feedback did you go to the Cleeks garden party I didn't Uh, petting zoo. No, I didn't. Maybe when I saw Bubba dump it in the water. Yeah, in a sense he did.

In a sense, I did. But I heard it like over the, like, you know, you could hear the 18th whole MC being like, here comes, you know, Paul Casey. And I'm like, oh my God, I haven't thought about Paul Casey and so long, like the original chap. Like, I wonder what he's up to. You know, he was like three over. Just not playing great. Just exists.

That's all it really. Yeah. Neil Paul. Casey made $608,000 this week. And credit to him, man. Like he's, you know, what a, what a swan song for that guy. But like, you know, I just, I'm just not getting a lot from it. And it's, again, if it was exhibition golf to see these names that former top 10 players in the world, former major winners, like, that's great.

Like, you know, that's a, like, you know, we're barnstorming the country or the world. Like, I understand that. It's just like, but the amount of dollars into this thing. for that product on the way out is just like yeah it was bleak man it was just it kind of I was my my like eggs were scrambled on the drive home I'm like damn and I and I want to say this when I left the parking lot I counted I think maybe there were like 560 cars there you know because I left a little early and I'm but my car was still in the last row you know what I mean so it's like okay I don't think any more people came you know what I mean like I don't I don't know I had it on you didn't miss

there was no influx of people that came late. It was, I couldn't believe it. And it's bullshit that your father-in-law bailed. Well, he had, no, I gave him a late note. We talked about it like last Sunday and then I didn't really like confirm with him until more.

We had a long week. So he was like, I have, I had a couple meetings got scheduled. So he ended up getting to the field. So he was playing. It's the wild card. I flyers.

I mean, it just, it was, it was, I'm glad I went. I'm really glad I went. And, uh,

you know, again like did you get it there's no harm it's like i saw some golf like if you had kids it is it's like if you have kids and you want to go like see bryson up close a great opportunity like if you want to go but it's the thing is it's really hot not a lot of shade it's not like going to a golf tournament like we've laughed about this forever it's not like super fun which you can't like stand under some shade you know it's like it's i don't know it was it was interesting did you buy a course was immaculate it. Did you buy any live

Korea stuff that was on sale? It looked like they were trying to offload a bunch of stuff from prior events they didn't sell. Like Live Korea ballmarkers and things like that in one of the merchandise pictures I saw. I didn't see that. They had one

live New York like custom T. It was like 50 bucks. I'm like yeah, I don't think I need that. But then each team has like its own little capsule. And the TC, credit to the cliques. I mean, there's shit's tight. Yeah.

And then the crushers have the biggest, you know, biggest booth. And then the guy, the four aces and the high flyer stuff is awful. And so is the Oklahoma Golf. Oh, club.

I mean, it's just awful looking, man. Truly horrendous stuff. And the Rippers, they don't have much swag either. No offense to leash and, and camp.

But that stuff's a little, little budget too. But they're like, just Ripper. No ass. It's clear. Ripper, yeah, you know, and I, I think the, honestly, the, the, the, my time in the merch tent was, was interesting, you know, like, each team has all, in pictures where they're all like, you know, and Phil's still on the high flyers. One, he's like, you know, he's, like, short, yeah, Lasasso's back there. It's just a lot. I didn't, I didn't see Rom. I didn't see LaSaso, like, again, the shotgun start. I can't find anybody, but I feel like I was there for three hours. I feel like I accomplished what I wanted to, and I left before.

I like passed out because I wasn't going to buy another jumbo dog for 12 bucks or 11 bucks like F that stuff your car to your car to buy the jimbo I expense this whole thing yeah so randy's gonna see that come through but we did we yeah so we we put some money in the till and yeah I just I don't know I know you guys are going to go through it and I don't have to get involved but I yeah I hear about this you know some a road like investors I'm just like what what are we what are we invested in man I don't know I don't investor was there today on Sunday. And if you see that in person, I just don't know.

But then the, you know, the tournament in South Africa, you know, like the one in Australia, like, yo, I get, you know, there are people there. Like, so I'm just, I am all I'm commenting on is what I saw on Thursday. And I know, like, Windham, you look at the, you watch it on Golf Channel. Like, not like there's a ton of people in the stands at the Windham Championship on Thursday either. But I think it's more than, you know, 1,500 people, honestly. Like that, that was. ever seen anything like this.

Were there, was there a concert anywhere on this one? Because like that's, like my, my theory on all of this is, there's like the, the reason they get people to these events is there's a concert held after the golf.

Like that's, that's a part of the reason why people are at these tournaments and didn't hear anything about a concert this week, which could help contribute a lot to their not being anybody out there. They had a shirt in the, maybe that was one of the Korean ones, but there was like a, it looked like a,

maybe a Korean woman, DJ and they had like a graphic T of her in the in the merch tent and I was like huh I wonder if she's playing But maybe that was in Korea. I don't know, sally But I didn't I didn't see any signs for a concert of any kind. Yeah, so anyway, I'm I'm it's it's pitch black out here. A lot of nuts in this episode. There was some news from the Live Golf tour this past week. There was a statement from Live on Wednesday says LiveGolf has an agreement in place with a lead investor signed by the investor and approved by the board to anchor the transaction and play a key role in supporting the path forward for the league's next era driven by and for the players. We're also seeing strong interests from more than a dozen additional parties to potentially serve as minority. investors creating a multi-partner model built for long-term stability and growth. Notably, our next chapter will make our players the majority equity holders in LiveGolf a first for a major global sports league and gives the league the foundation to keep growing the game worldwide. We anticipate finalizing terms in the coming weeks with the goal of entering a

transaction in September. In the meantime, our focus is on delivering a great week for fans and players at Bedminster and finishing the 2026 season strong. haters can taste it, man. Just taste it. We're so bad. That's it. We absolutely licked it. Parlo was stunting all over you all week.

That's right. We'll get there if you want. 2026 season's going to finish really strong. Apparently, according to Scott O'Neill, the team event is no longer listed on the Fox Sports broadcast schedule. Anyways, Scott, in his media visit, said, pivoting to what I'm talking about here, it's very good news.

We're very fortunate. that a lead investor has signed a term sheet approved by our board, which will carry and fund live going forward. It's very good news for us. He was asking you say more about this investor. Any background on who it is, what it is, how much money they've committed. What I can, he said, what I can tell you is what I told you. At this point, we are keeping the details of the deal, the investor,

and much of what you might want to know in the second phase out of the media. Didn't give a timeline, didn't give any details at all on the terms. Wouldn't say if it was a loan, if it was an investment, didn't give any indication on players that would be potentially staying or an update on the team championship in this visit. Seems like a done deal. Most certainly is not the Financial Times, I believe was Sujit Indop, reported that Livgolf had enlisted private capital group,

BC partners as it seeks a, quote, grand bargain between new investors, Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund and its top players to keep the loss-making tour alive after the kingdom ends its funding. The investor is the credit division of B. BC Partners, the London-based private equity company, according to people with familiar with the matter. Bloomberg News first reported that BC Partners was the lead investor. They also continued on to say, yet the path to a final agreement for Live has turned into a complex, multi-party negotiation according to the people involved with BC partners and other possible investors

seeking assurances that Livestar players will stay with the league. Several leading players, including John Romer, owed guaranteed payments worth potentially hundreds of millions of dollars under contracts that extend beyond this month when the PIF has said it will end and cease funding for the league. The Piff is considering paying off these contracts at a discount to settle any potential liability as well to avoid bad publicity, leaving the player's position to sign fresh deals with the BC partners backed circuit that would include cash as well as equity in the new league according to those close to the negotiations. Should I pause at any point here? Do you guys want to get in here? Should I keep going? Get all the way through this.

I thought, just speaking of BC partners, I thought it was interesting that they're, I don't know if they're a majority investor or just an investor in GSE, which is the agency that represents Bryson among a host of other live players. So the potential investor slash in some ways I hesitate to even call it an investor. It could just be a distressed debt kind of deal. It also has an interest in the representation of the players. Like it just seems like there's so many different hands and all of this. And I guarantee you, like every spidey sense of my body is going off that the Cush, Randy's guy, the Cush is going to waltz in with his affinity partners, his family fund and be a part of this, you know,

fundraise. Yeah. I'll finish out the rest of this report here. It said, O'Neill and his public remarks confirmed that equity stakes would be a key selling point to players to convince them to stick with Live, what the golfers envisioned as collectively owning a majority of the tour. I lo, man. It's a good time to get in. I said a settlement may come in the form of a pre-packaged bankruptcy where a court process could quickly cleanse legacy liabilities and allow new investment to come in free of any entanglement. from the previous era.

And also the, quote, the new investors will need assurances that those players are not going to pursue any money from the PIF and say, we got stiffed. That is from a quote, from a person said of the discussion. That's in the report. Also, of note,

the PIF has dispersed the money. It has committed to 2026 and shortfalls in staging the tournaments. Rest with Liv, said a person familiar with the Saudi funds thinking. So basically, Liv has sent, or Piff has sent their money over and whatever, the Liv is unable to execute.

It's because they're spending money in a lot of other ways or budgeting. Budgeting properly or a lot of things you might suspect. So what does this all mean? A lot of Humbo-Jumbo, a lot of does it all mean?

Arlo White came on the air and said that Scott O'Neill had announced that Liv had secured investment for a 2027 season and beyond. That is, if you read it closely, that is not what Scott O'Neill said. I did ask Arlo directly, TC, if he would like to clarify what he meant there.

And he did not receive. receive a reply. So I don't know if he just hadn't gotten to it yet. It's unlike all. He's been back on Twitter and replied to a lot of other people, but just I'd ask them directly, you know, did you want to clarify what you meant there and didn't get a reply here? But basically, the Financial Times article was the eye-opening part of what we long suspected with, in relation to this, of it's going to depend on what players stay. Like it sounds like the funding and the loan or whatever it is, BC Partners is extending live golf is contingent on keeping the star players around, which makes it a easy-ish quote investment, you know, quotation marks

around that word for them of its low risk. They're not going to be stuck paying the Lucas Herbert's a ton of money. They're concerned. The only hope with Livgolf is to retain some of these top players, convincing that there is equity value in the league and funded in the short term. It will get more complicated than that, but it doesn't sound like Liv has any funding without the assurances that the star players are. are returning. So yeah. There's all sorts of back and forth as to whether Michigan is happening.

And if they've like there's been no build out at Michigan and yeah, like it's on the Fox Sports website. It's no it's no longer listed as an event on on Fox Sports. It's still as of today listed on the live golf website, I believe. But. Um, yeah, that certainly does not seem like it's it's headed towards, uh, towards happening. Listen, there's many things in this world. I don't understand. It's very possible that this will end up being one of them. I don't understand this. And I've read it 13 times.

I've listened to everything. I've watched everything. I've read all the reaction. I'm just like, I feel like I'm just kind of taking crazy pills. I'm like, I don't know what, I don't even know what we're talking about here.

What would, like what players are staying. Like, Bryson and then Bryson kind of talks to the, New York Post and he's like I'm 100% sure about lives future like we're good and I'm I'm just like I Aman had a great thing on golf channel this week and it was just like like rom's kind of the only thing that seems like he matters you know the the only thing that seems like it matters is kind of what rom decides to do I would think because outside of it's like maybe bryson wants to turn this into some sort of

eight person Harlem globetrotters tour like maybe and maybe that's kind of what this is circling is like we're shrinking it down because I know the number that kept getting thrown out was like 250 million which is what 5% of what they've spent on uh this thing so far and so I'm like everything has to radically change but it's they're pitching it as though nothing is changing rom seems like he is like dead behind the eyes every time he's asked about this thing I'm sure the last thing he wants to do is make this league even sillier it just is a it just all kind of makes absolutely no sense to me. And then you pair that with what we just heard from Neil and there's 500 some cars in the parking lot and ambient club jams and slushies. And I'm like, I just, I don't think

we're moving in the right direction. But, you know, it's been about four years longer than I thought it was going to go. So who knows? You just don't understand tax loss harvesting. Literally. Yes. And that's what I'm like, there's probably some sort of weird financial engineering going on that somebody's going to understand and swoop in and pick this corpse clean and somehow end up making a billion dollars on the deal. I'm not one of those people. I don't really know how that works. And I don't think Bryson knows how it works either. But who knows? Could be wrong. Could be wrong. But I would just say, based on everything Neil said, it's, I just don't think you can, I don't know, man. I don't think you can say it enough times. Like if you couldn't do it with six billion

It's not like a small administration, like administrative change that we need. It's not a new investor that we need. It's just everything. Nothing works. It's not going to work. And so it's a little bit of like, play stupid games, win stupid prizes here. If anybody wants to put any money into this, you deserve everything that's coming to you. Also, however long it's around.

If the only thing that's working is the international events. and they're going to have half the events in the U.S. Right. Yeah. But, you know, if that's what they're saying, obviously the financial times is part of the Crooked Golf media. Of course. Of course. No, if that's what they're saying,

I would understand changing course, right? And saying, like, we are making it just these international things, but it just turns into these like. They don't have their theater anymore either, by the way. Even Bryson just, yeah, right. The Asian tours gone. It's all that stuff. But even Bryson's and Scott O'Neill both, like the amount of time

that they've pivoted towards the grow the game stuff. It's like, no, you guys don't understand. Like, all we're trying to do is grow the game. It's like, great. I'm sure John Rob's fucking stoked to go do that for free. Like, equity, what are you talking about, dude? Equity and what? What are we doing?

Bryson wants to build their own stadium. Oh, for sure. That whole thing. That's probably the issue. They don't control the, they don't have enough to throw over the venues. Yeah, that's probably what's wrong with it. It's just bananas. It is, and again, this is, like I've said this a bunch of times when this shit pops up,

and it just becomes this victory lap everywhere. They do a press conference about it. Arlo comes on the air and just says they've secured investment. Everyone online's like, wow, the haters are really tasting it today. It's like, what the fuck are you guys talking about? Why do we have to keep like the only sensible people at golf, like all the journalists and the media people that have just taken barrel fire last four years, just on repeat, just keep having to raise our hand and be like, yo, that's not what happened. You are like, this is a lie. You are not presenting this situation properly here. It is, it is, it's just, it's been one of the most mind-numbing five years of just complete, shock of like I keep in my own head I'm like testing my own logic

am I like am I like the one horribly horribly off base here like how could this be possible that there are people that feel this way I how I don't understand it I really really don't it's I do appreciate Scott O'Neill's like continued it's trying his hardest vapidness but also optimism in these press conferences of these like like appreciate the question we're zero zero We're locked in, focused on driving it. Spent my entire career. I, I thrive on this.

I seek these, these fucked up situations out. Like, this is, this is my Super Bowl. Uh, he was getting asked about all sorts of, like, you know, some of the big players and he shifted the conversation to Dean Burmester. In South Africa, there wasn't a bigger athlete in the world. The Dean Burmester in South Africa that week. And that's the, that's the problem, man. That's your biggest asset.

Like that is the whole problem. And then Bryson, you know, Bryson said personally, I'd love to be able to play events on the PGA tour too. I think that's what's best for golf. I'd love that. It's not an either or mentality. It's can we do both?

I think that's where everybody wants to be. There isn't a golf fan on the planet who doesn't want to see me play a big tour event. And I get that. I'd love to go play events that make sense. Love to play team golf and love to play wherever they'll let me. just a total understanding of the situation uh sallie do you want to talk about john rom shooting eight over this week

as well uh dude dude certified individual champ you guys can fucking taste he made 90 million dollars last three years t 41 dude he got beat by michael lasaso this week he's an absolute dude the pope the price what's that guy's name matt vincenzi he's tweeting about Lassaso's aura or something. Oh, the deep basing that has happened in the last five years, man. We are going to do it. We're going to do a big retrospect. Give us some time.

It's going to take some time. Because Live 1.0 is dead. We know that. Live might technically still live on in existence as of next year. And the people that have scimped for Live 1.1.0, I kind of somewhat can get it, but just the blind simping for whatever this new version is is where I'm like, dude, I, you got to turn this thing around.

We got to get, we got to pull. Some of your friends have got to start talking to you about this. Like, because you can't just blindly, this is not going to be what even the thing that you claim to have liked is. It's not going to be it. It's going to be a complete shell of it. And the Bryson thing is, it is such a, like, Bryson knows better, and that's the, like, he understands the situation

much better than this. Like, he, he knows, like, literally better than why he can't play both of the events. But it's just the lame, it is. It's the lamest form of just, like, let me appeal to my Nickelodeon fans that don't understand the rules and regulations, the PGA tour. And, like, I'm just going to do a few more things to just, just to shift the public pressure on Rollap and the PGA tour. Because I, in his, what he doesn't know better at it is, he.

he's not going to drive that. That's not what's going to drive the PJ tour to cave and just like let him. First of all, he's not going to be able to play the PGA tour, much less play both. Like that is an completely off the rails line of thinking. He left the tour knowing that he, if he left for live golf, he was going to get suspended in ban from these events that was told to him.

That was upheld at court when they tried a TIO, you know, when Gooch and them were waiting outside the gates to play in the playoffs. At Memphis. He sued the tour. We got to protect Memphis. There's so much history there. Burned every possible bridge.

There was a returning member program that was offered to him at the beginning of the year that Brooks Kepka took and was able to get back to the PGA tour quickly. It was clearly communicated then if you don't take that. You're not even going to get that offer. So I don't know what's got. There's no precedent for what's coming for Bryson. I don't even think the reed treatment is in line with what's happening here. And it,

I don't, that's going to be a rude awakening for, for the people that for some reason still think you can come and go as you please more on that we'll talk a lot more about the rules and regulations the pjator not on this coming week's pod but in next week's pod where we talk about 1995 uh that season which we dive into but like i can only explain it so many times on twitter to people of like it's not a complicated model the pGA tour asks all of it all of its members to agree to rules and regulations that include they're not going to play events unsanctioned events in north america you're not allowed to do that

Live golf stages several events in North America. So as soon as the players teed up in London, all of them were suspended. Very clearly, very clearly within their rules and regulations, it has been looked into multiple times by the government and challenge in multiple fronts. And no one has been able to take them down on that

because they need to pool everybody's media rights and sell it to sponsorships for a predictable amount of money and support professional golf as a whole and the charities they support along the way. Like that's how it works. You do not get to pick and choose, both. And live golf does not allow their players releases from their events. So that live golf, and it was when it was looked at by Judge Freeman in 2022, the quote she had there was paraphrasing

live golf contracts are way more constricting, restrictive, uh, than anything with the PGA tour. So she was sick. I forgot about her. Yeah. Oh, I've been diving back into 2021, 22. There's a lot of shit we forgot about bad. There's a lot of shit. T.C. GMAC got beat by 42 shots. this week. He could have, Waco could have given him 10, 10 a day. He would beat his ass. You're going to get that in Tennessee, east of Chattanooga and, you know, early August. But that place is kind of a shrine to amateur golf. That's kind of why it was built by Jack Lupton. And, yeah, it's kind of Pete Dye's masterpiece. So it was cool to see it televised. And, yeah, I thought like the maybe the quarterfinals that she beat the, that Ma? I thought,

semis, yeah, she was like, she looked like she, like they were, in my opinion, the two best players in the tournament

after watching it. And that was kind of the, that was for all intense purposes, the final. But yeah, Asteris lost, lost the U.S. Girls Jr.

and the U.S. Women's Am in 2024 to Rianne Malixie. And, you know, she had kind of, she was bombed after ANWA. this year as well and comes out and just dominates eight and six in the final her dad was on the

bag and uh it feels like just on that topic from earlier of all these young players that have high ceilings it feels like between asteris tally and miles russell yeah that we've got you know a couple more coming through the pipeline on on both sides of the spectrum there so totally totally agree uh it was the quarterfinals. I DJ regrets the air. But, uh, Astrox just seems like a, uh, yeah, she, she's got it, right? I mean, she's very fun to, fun to watch, wear some emotion on her sleeve, fun to root for. Neil, I wish Neil's, uh, power was working. He was with us because I know he had a lot of great things to say about her after spending time with her at the US NDP, uh, like the development team

camp that he went to. Go check that video out on our, our YouTube channel. I think that video is criminally underwatched. It's, uh, it's very, very fun and a good look at, who asterisk is and what her vibe kind of on the golf course is. One of those kids, it's not, you know, still good. It sounds crazy to say like this is some shocking thing, but like still goes to to regular school. You know, a lot of these junior golfers are homeschooled. They're traveling around so much.

And yeah, she just seems like kind of a 17 year old, a pretty normal 17 year old girl, you know, but a world class talent, which is, which has been awesome to watch. And like you said, it's a, it's fun to see in amateur golf. It's fun when it's not just kind of one bite at the Apple. Like, that's the only time we're going to see that person before they turn pro. And with the ANWA and with, you know, these other things, you've kind of been able to build some more context around a player like her. And so to see that all kind of pay off and her get a massive dub today is awesome.

Do you want to play over under how many majors for Astor's Talley, T.C? Well, I think you've got stuff to update us on from Rose-Zang. So this happened earlier. this week. Somebody like chirped at us about Rose's major record. Somebody was like, yeah, the knowing how podcast predicted that she was going to win 13 majors. And I was like, I'm going to go find this because that was clearly a joke.

Like, that had to have been a joke. And imagine the shock on my face when I found the clip that I'm getting ready to play for you. From the Memorial Recap after Rose Egg won. This is in 2023. This is me. I was doing a bit. This is me. Was this when she won the Missouho?

This is what she won her first LPGA start. This is me, Neil and T.C. reacting quickly to that win and putting it over under on major wins for Rose Egg. Whatever. But over under. I've been thinking about this. You know, because I, listen, I knew you guys put me on the spot. I think the number is 13.

That's what I'm going with. I'm going with 13. I was going to go with 12. I like that, Neil. Is this a bit at all? You're saying 13 majors for Rose? She's 20 years old. Why not?

there'll be six auto qualifiers and then Sned will have six captains picks. And the auto qualifiers right now, Scottie Cam Young, Russ Henley, Sam Burns, Ben Griffin, last year doing a lot of work for Ben Griffin, and Colin Morikawa is your six, which leaves the next six as Godrup, Spawn, Zander, Wyndham, JT, Bridgman, Okshaye, I believe, if that's 12th. That's the next seven. Oh, sorry.

So we kind of have this weird situation where it's like we can either, I don't think there's any in between, as you said. earlier tc like i think we can either go let's invest in the future let's get weird let's make this thing fun or i think it can go let's invest in the past and it's going to be jt and the harris english and you know people like that i kind of disagree i think they are going to middle it like that's where i i think how things will probably shake out so all right who's your 12 saw who do i think i think this is like

I ignored auto captain's picks because. What if Benny Booms is in? I mean, if he qualifies he's in. And I don't think he would be otherwise. So if he does, great. He would not be on my 12th. When do standings after BMB, After BMW.

Okay. So two more weeks. Standings did, did process. This is through the Wind of Championship for the U.S. side, not for the internationals. Where's Mr. Booms? He wouldn't have been. Booms is fifth. Yeah.

Okay. There wouldn't be movement at the top. They're pretty, it's pretty jammed up between about fifth and eighth. And there's going to be a lot of FedEx Cup points available in the playoffs, I believe, which is, that's the point system they use there. And it's one and a half for this year, I think. So Mori Cowah could pass. him. Goderup could pass him. That would be

it. Pass that. I have an unsexy name in here that I think is going to make it and is not played bad enough to drop out of it. Be Cantley. I think that involves the middling part of like, I don't know that they would go past him for the names

that are available. It's not that appealing the names that are available. We'll get there. Goderup. And Cantley is appealing? Canley wasn't even on my list. That might be a you problem than it is. you know, more than anything else. Can't let Godd her up, Wyndham, Coyven, Gerard, and J.T.

would round out my 12 as of right now. Wow, that's big of you to put Ryan Gerard on. I'm a big Gerard guy. It's one of the highest players in the world. It has been for a long time. I think this ignores, for the sake of argument, your team does not have Ben Griffin on, and it seems like he's going to qualify.

I do not believe that that's the case. He's like 30th. He's in the playoffs, too. he's got access to all these FedEx Cup points as well. If he does, sure, that's great. But the Canaway thing. Who are you kicking off if he's on the team? I mean, who do I think is likely to be kicked off out of that?

Would probably be Gerard. Would be the most likely. Dubs playing bad right now. He is, but like, and again, I don't think this way and don't think it should. But he won the U.S. Open. Like, I think he's probably going to be on the team. I think he's probably going to be. Yeah.

I mean, Cantlay, again, has been one of the best. one of the 12 best Americans over the last 24 months, 12 months, six months, and three months, and is 10 and four in the President's Cup. Do I think they're going to look past that? No. I mean, probably not. He's been, and again, we don't have to do the whole strokes gain conversation, but went way better than Griffin, been way better than Gerard, been way better than Coyven,

been way better than any other name. Like, it's just, you have a hard time making a stronger case than that, unless you wanted to remove, and I get, fans would want to remove themselves, from can't lay at this point i get that but i don't think that's the mindset of team usa at this point i i don't think it's necessarily justified either or bjornson brennan akshay can he pee let's let's get weird baby and that's that is very fun podcasting at no point am i like all snedeker's about to get fucking weird with this man like a home or his one shot at like captaining like i i bet he will take some risks i bet he is going to maybe risk

that they lose to a very bad international team here, just like, just a new, new blood in. I don't think that's going to happen. What if Snedeker said, hey, we're going to maybe lose this battle

to win some wars down the stretch here. And I would like to be a Rider Cup fan. But I die. A Rider Cup captain in, that's where I'm at. Let's say 2029. Yeah. You know,

let's build for the future here. And let me, let me, let me get a close. up look at some of these youngsters. But if this doesn't go great for me, I will not be the Ryder Cup captain in 2029. And I'd be dead if I blow this one.

I'm not willing to lose this bat. I do not think that's ever been. That's why Team USA needs a makeover. Like the whole thought process behind Team USA should think like that, T.C. I completely agree. 100%. We should pick himself. They've made it very clear that they don't think that way.

So I would not expect that to be the case. looking at the internationals we got see who are your teams who are who's on your american team i just told you you just got her listed a bunch of bunch of name oxhay ryan gerard or bjornson covenrennan coivan so who's not on from he uh i would tell yeah i mean honestly i'm yeah i'm telling benny booms to sit down even if you automatically qualify okay taking over the protocol spawns not on it wasn't on my team is not on j t's not on like we know what jt's got we don't need to see jt it but dinah right i feel like it's a fun it's an inflection it could be an inflection point one and so i of course what you're saying is probably right and that is

probably what's going to happen that that would be like if i was betting that would i think you're right like that probably will be the team but if the exercise is just like what do you want to happen? What do you think should happen? Even if it's just dumb podcasting. I'm like, no, I think you should invest in the future. I think you should try to take a swing and like, I don't know if I was the tournament organizers.

I know you can't, you don't want to make it like a joke of a competition. It's like a preseason game. But it is a preseason. It's like, dude, give the captain a little leash to be like, hey man, I think it'd be the most compelling storyline if it was close at all.

And if it's just, I don't know. I think there's, I think there's, here's what I'll say. I'll twist myself in a pretzel saying this. I think there's a compelling case to be made on behalf of the PJ tour that the tour should be investing in its stars. And the tour should be putting up like Akshay, Ryan Gerard, Coyvin, some of these dudes to like Brennan, Thorby Ornson, some of these guys to actually like get a bigger stage to try to become bigger names. And if you want to, I would say that this week and be like, JT, if you don't win one of these next two, you're not on the team. Can't lay. Do you win to golf tournaments? What's your deal? Can you fucking win one of these things? Can you make it interesting?

Otherwise, we're not going to have you based on all your like T-14 finishes every week. You got a sample size. Yeah. Let's see. Let's let's give these guys a chance. You've got chalk at the top. They're still probably going to win. Like, have an open trial for some of these guys. Who wants to be a dude for the next 10 years? Go, go, go prove it. Can we can we not include Akshay in this? Like, actually has not been playing well. He hasn't been a factor in quite some time. He won the Bay Hill in March. Yeah. He's not out playing these guys. You know what I mean? And now we're getting into like Bez territory. It's just it's. It's Jarvis. It's bad. Jason Day's hurt. We don't know what he's, who knows what's going on with him. Which again is now I'm circling back to like,

yeah, put Akshay on the team, man. Let's see what he's got. You know? I don't know. So it's, otherwise it's just yeah, it's just going to be, which of course,

fool me 18 times, but it's just going to be a repeat of the last 15 years. That's a major problem with the president's cut. The problem is I want, I do kind of want to get pumped about this one. I think it has a lot going for it.

I think it could be very fun and very interesting. And if it's just like, then Can't Lay wins his singles match over fucking pot eater to clinch it for the U.S. you know, in a 12-point romp is like, great. Well, here's the flip side of that, Dej, I think, would be we, when we maybe have used the President's Cup as a little bit of a proving ground for youngish Americans of like,

let's find out about it. The answer usually is a negative, not a good sign. Like, let's get Sahith in there. Let's figure, oh, Sahith, that was not, that did not go well in Canada. And now, now you're almost like, you cross, like, you cross him all. Like, was he ready for that? You cross him off. and don't ever consider him again.

He wasn't ready for the President's Cup, then he sure is not weird if they're not beating down, if their game is not really, really good, and they're not beating down the door and we're just putting them on to test out the young blood, is that a little bit of an unfair situation? Like, now if Sawha, that's a great Rider Cup year, are we like, ah, yeah,

but remember he sucked at the President's Cup, we don't really want to use him there. It's kind of like, you know, is Michael Brennan ready for this moment? If it doesn't go great, do we cross him off and move on from there? Because I don't really necessarily think that would be fair. I don't, I just don't know,

if, you know, they've made it for better for worse, both sides of the, both teams make players beat down the door to make it as a captain pick as a rookie, if you haven't been on one. Like it's international, Europeans, and U.S., I've all kind of treated it that way. Unless you are a star talent, like I think the Coivin thing is, has a good chance. Like, I do not think the U.S. is thick enough at the bottom to, and if Coiffin has a bad playoffs, I don't think he'll make it, but I think if he's around a little bit, there is very strong reason to pick him on the team.

And I think they should. Like somebody like a Thor Bjoranson and a Brennan are, we have bigger sample sizes on them that probably put them behind somebody like Coyvin for fair reasons or not. And I don't think they've beat. They've had one each out of a great peak week, but I don't think they've done enough to really say like, I'm going to battle with you.

And I'm like, I'm not going to take JT. It just doesn't, it's just not really how they, the system works. Again, you're making a lot of sense, and I'm not, I'm not really arguing with you necessarily. It's kind of just difference of opinion, I guess. But the, it's not even difference of opinion. I know, I would agree.

It's difference of what you want to happen, right? Like, it's, it's, yes. So I think you're making a lot of sense. The counter to that would be you pick JT, you pick Cantlay, you pick whoever. And like those guys shit the bed. And then next year we get to Rider Cup time again. and those guys are in the same spot because they're going to be.

And now you, now you're just kicking the can on like the difficult decision, I feel like, right? Where you're going to end up in that same spot where it's, you didn't learn anything. And now everybody's a year older and those guys don't have any new experience. It's just kind of a, I don't know, it would be a very hard thing and possibly stupid thing to do. But that's what I'm rooting for. I'd also, I'd also argue. I know. I'd also argue I don't know really what you learn, right?

I mean, like Sam Burns was great at the 2022 President's Cup. His record did not show for it because Scottie sucked ass. Like, he played really well. And he turned around and he was on the Ryder Cup team in Rome and sucked ass. So it was like, was whatever we learned about Burns and 22, did that help in 2023? No, it did. I don't know. It just doesn't, it's not that clean.

And there's probably good examples on the opposite side of, you know, a young JT at Melbourne with Tiger. and flipping that over into his Rider Cup experience. I don't know. I would use Max as an example, too. Yeah. You know, somebody who, yeah. But that didn't go great for him in Canada and 2024 as well. So it's not clean.

And that's why I think it's likely to go relatively safe. But I, but I, it's almost a good thing though of how the US team's shaking out. Like you can't go too safe. Like you can't. There's no, there's not a reason to go all the way down with with just experience there. Like there will be plenty. Goddard's done enough to get a captain's pick as a rookie. That's beating down the door.

Yeah. I feel like I don't like, I just, Marion's a blind spot. 100% same boat. I feel exactly the same way. I just haven't done, I haven't done the work on my end to really figure it out. It's the kind of thing that like I really, everybody that I trust says it's freaking brilliant.

And it's like one of their favorite, if not their favorite course in the world. And also like it's almost one of those places that I've almost set aside of like, no, I just want to go experience that for myself or, you know, either watching a tournament there in person or playing it. And yeah, it just feels like a very singular like the routing and the small piece of property and it's on and everything. So I might dig in pretty, pretty heavily this week. think this is a great format in which to watch a golf course play out. I love it. Match play is going to be excellent, excellent for it.

And not overly, you know, 2013 was pretty heavily manipulated by Mike Davis and the crew and probably not the best Marion representation, I think. But match play, I think they can afford to, you know, kind of let it go a little bit. Our guy, Justin Huber is going to be in the field. My partner in crime and hitting in hitting cups. I know that's going to make some people online very upset. That's fine. Which I will say to this, that is bullshit for the USAM.

U.S. midam you want to get mad about. I'm kind of down with that. Like midam's kind of not a, the USAM is like aspiring professional golfers. Yeah. I, US midam is like you are working a job. And yeah,

the former pro thing does bother me a lot of that level. I would say you do not have the same leverage to get upset about the USAM. That's my take on that matter. I agree. And a lot of the people said to Huber like, Hey, go play the USAM. So that's what he's doing. Yeah.

You know? Yeah, I'm excited to follow. Can't wait to watch. I forgot. He's going to be in the field. That's awesome. Any other shoutouts you want to give, TC? Pleased to see the Corning Classic coming back to the LPGA tour up in New York.

I think that's great. It's a big, big win for kind of mid-tier markets this week. You know, that's the theme of the episode. Yeah. There were some cheeky USGA pairings. Johnny Clark, Noah Kent, Tully Super, the Superman group together. Just, you know, just fun, cheeky stuff like that. What else we got? There was a, there was a piece from you and Merck. It was good stuff. And The Guardian, about just this 20-year stretch of confusion, mostly on X, the Everything app, about people thinking that he is U.N. Murray on television. There's a U.N. Murray from The Guardian and a U.N. Murray who's a Sky Sports Golf Commentator,

and they are two different people. And you and Murray, the Sky Sports Golf Commentator, former professional, kind of a circuitous or random route into broadcasting, and he's brilliant. Like, he's a legend. And so it was, it was partly about the mix up and the number of people that reach out to you and Murray of the Guardian thinking that he, and then he's kind of, it's taken on its own persona. Go read it.

It's, it's really funny. And it's about their, their relationship that's developed as well. It's a, it's a really cheeky, you know, just lighthearted. like good natured piece and then just wanted to shout out record jake jake jake trego for uh hopping on the the pat macket show and and doing a little live live hit there that was incredible surreal seeing our guy strumming the guitar and singing on the worldwide leader uh was was just awesome uh he is uh yeah he's one of a kind and it was it was great to see him get some shine see him get a good interview with pat and it was awesome.

And it was all kind of in promotion of film that we've got coming out on our YouTube channel on Wednesday, a film called Keep Showing Up, which is Jake's backstory. Kind of our crack at like a, it's kind of a music documentary. I mean, it's a story. It's Jake's story, all expertly told by Matt Golden, who directed it and edited it and kind of got it off the ground and ran with the whole project. And yeah, there's songs interspersed. It's kind of, it's cool, man.
