I can't do my judge. I panic everything. Not very hezzellic. Not very hezellic. That is my friend and my friend and Cody McBride. Hello, Cody. Hello, T.C. Guys, we had a day at the Solheim Cup.

Carlota Sigand. The perfect villain. We're going to give you a rundown and storylines here. It was a bit of a grind to get that final match in the house. I had the timer out on two of Carlos Ogunas shots, Carlo Salgado's shots on 18. Didn't get it on the approach shot, which Lindy Duncan was not very pleased with that because she audibly said, is somebody timing this because of how long it took Carlota to play that shot? But hopefully people got a chance to watch the thrilling final match

between Nellie Korda, Lauren Coglin, Julia Lopez-Rumirez, and Carlota Sagan. which ended in a half, a thrilling half, Satis is in a good mood tonight. No, it was a great afternoon of golf. It was a great day of golf. First time in a Solheim Cup of history that we've been,

that both sessions tied on the first day. And I think that's only happened one time in Rider Cup history in 1956. That, of course, is courtesy of our guy, Randy Robles of the Elias Sports Bureau, who has been cooking up great statistics and facts all day long. Always cooking them up. I wish people understood how much of a thrill T.

TC gets out of this. So yeah, it was, it was a very interesting afternoon, very interesting morning. It's been a great golf course, great atmosphere out here. I think the first match that made it to 18, there was something going wrong. There was a live concert that started near 18. I don't know if you guys caught all that or if you're watching on TV, but that was the first thing that like blew up my Twitter timeline was like people being upset about the music on 18. It's like a live event. I heard that one out there.

very original i will say this i think i don't want to stop the the quick recap but just so people know where we're at we're behind the 16th green right now so 18 quite a few would uh i wouldn't know how long would you say how far would you say at least 15 minutes it's two holes it's 17 and 18 are the are for those two holes that is true we'll call it 900 yards yeah anyway we barely heard the concert from here but we're getting blasted by this sun of course we're doing this live. So if our audio is issues, TC is changing the mic around right now because he doesn't realize it was centered on me. No, I know. My mic, my mic cord was underneath it. So doing it live. So we'll readjust that as well. And we'll get back to it. But in the meantime, please let me know

We separated out this morning for the morning foresums on the US side sitting was Angel Yin, Yulimi, know, Austin Kim, and Megan Kang. On the European side, Carlota Seganda, Julia, Lopez Ramirez, Nastasia, no doubt. Am I saying it right? You are.

I feel like the first team announcer went with something different today, and it sounded really elegant when they did it and it sounded right. It sounds wrong when I say it. But, and Mimi Rhodes were the one sitting. Match one. No huge surprises there, as far as who was sitting. No, that made sense.

I think for both sides. Match one was Charlie Hall. and Lottie Wode against Nellie Cordo, Allison Corpus. Cody, you went out with this match. You walked a fair amount of this one. What was the vibe like in that one? What kind of noteworthy stuff happened in that one in your estimation? Yeah, it was quick.

I was worried. I don't know why I would have been worried. Lottie's first Solheim Cup. She was nervous. She was very nervous. I think when she got off the shuttle cart, taking her to the first tee, she turned and started walking in the wrong direction,

not to where the massive grandstand is. But, man, she settled it. And she came out early and just drained like a 25-footer for Bertie on one. Her drive ended up left. Charlie hit an awesome shot up there. And her to capitalize on that, make that punt, and then immediately just start her day going, I was like, wow, this is going to be very, very impressive.

But the combination of Nellie and Allison Corpus is a lot. and they were so dialed in this morning and they just didn't miss anything. And Charlie, I think she's, I don't know if it's because she wasn't hitting every single golf shot, but we stopped probably every two, three holes and she was getting treatment on her back.

It was very noticeable that she was tight. She had her physio out there trying to keep her loosened up, but she was fighting something and they both started fighting the left ball. And then what they were riding kind of a hot putter. And then as soon as as they lost it, you know, it was kind of all down the hill from there. And they ended up getting absolutely smoked this morning. The team of Allison Corpus and Nellie Kordog now goes to 5'0 in their Solheim Cup history.

Have to imagine they will be out in four-subs tomorrow. Do you think, do we have the first of all, do we have morning foursims yet? Hopefully we don't for tomorrow. Do we have pairings for tomorrow yet? No. They had an hour from that final put. So I think maybe we're 15 minutes into this. That's perfect because I want to try to get.

Carlota was buying him some time. She dropped in. That Jake break was coming through. She just slowed down this thing to a halt. I do want to at least try to prognosticate or guess what we think might happen. Because I think the U.S. is going to send out Corpus and Cordo again. Probably first, I would imagine. Do we think Europe sends Charlie and Lottie out again in that first match and goes for that rematch?

I don't think they do. I think. Do you send a sacrificial lamb? in front of Allison and Nelly. No, I don't think you sacrifice anything. Try to go toe-to-to-to-with- them. Yeah. Do it. Let me ask you this real quick. How do you feel after...

Solie, how do you feel after today right now? It's tied. It's tied. I feel... So I'm not as like... I want the U.S. to win, but I'm not nearly as like emotionally invested as I am on the Ryder Cup side. It's much more healthy relationship I have over here. That was... Today was probably the highlight of my golfing year of what I saw in person.

It was just, it was electric. It was a great, great golf course, awesome energy. I've heard, I've had to miss the last two Solheim cups. I've heard from your guys in person experiences. It's been a little rough at some of these. Spain, not the best venue. Major logistical issues on Friday, of course, at Solheim in 2024 and at RTJ, shuttles, all that, all that stuff.

Today felt awesome. Like, genuinely, other than the concert busting out early on 18, I struggle to come up with like an issue. issue here other than the media center is far from the first and and that's on a rainy day like the weather was pretty moody it was mostly good this morning and it got really moody kind of just post lunch there but it was the course is great it's easy to get around uh holes back up to one another there's critical mass out there the fans are awesome awesome uh grandstands were full i mean the way it's built out the way it's set up and routed and everything it's it was 10 of 10 today on that front uh good part

fives out here. I think really good part five's. Part three, the euros just couldn't stop hitting it in the water. Part three's coming in. There's some bad golf today too. Yeah, yeah. That's a very good But I think overall it was like everybody mostly rose to the challenge. The European rookies played great this afternoon.

Yeah, it was like I was thrilled watching and I was, man, this is living up to the hype. I've had this circled on the calendar for a few years now and day one met the moment. Which credit? I mean, Bernardus is sandcap golf course, like the no expense spared building this golf course, and they needed it with what happened earlier this week.

I mean, just a full entire day of rain on Tuesday. And it's not fast and firm, but like a low shot is, has no chance of stopping. And there was a, you should just see a ball going offline and you know that ball's not going to stop until it finds something bad. And the punishment, like, these women are incredibly accurate. Fairways are not super wide. In some spot, they're pretty wide. But when you do miss, there's Heather, there's Fair airway bunkers that are penal and the ball finds the bottom of. It just is like a really good shot value golf course. And with some of the courses we're stuck with for some of these matchplay events, this one rises to the top of me. As far as how the women's game scales into this.

There's some canals in play. The heather's a great, a great, you know, half shot penalty. Real heather, not fescue. This is actual heather.

Yeah. And they made the right call moving, moving six or the real 18 back to 16. I think, you know, it just, it flowed today. The first hole is the third hole. Yes. I think this route. It worked out perfectly.

Whoever envisioned this out. Other than you finish on 18 directly into the sun, which is not how you would design a golf course, but otherwise, yes. I wonder what the numbers say of how many Solheim Cup matches have made it to the 18th hole. No, it's, it's a reason why they do do it and it does work out well. It's, it was so funny because once the match is cleared through here, T.C. is helping me. set up for the live show and we're just getting hit with like the most beautiful golden hour ever

and for a golf course and we talked about different uh other solheim cup venues before it was the first time that we actually got to see all the humps and bumps and busting all the shaping that's done here on these sandcap course and it was crazy i was like holy there's so much more out there sometimes a little too turned up but that's what this course was built for yeah so it's built to identify, like, decisive shots, I think. And we're in Denbosch. I guess we should say that. We're in Kromvoit right now.

Okay, but, yeah, we're standing in Denbosch. That's probably the nearest big city. We're what, hour, hour and a half, depending upon traffic and train times, south of Amsterdam. We're in kind of the south of Holland here. Former Burgundian, uh,

territory. Yeah, you were looking up all kinds of stuff. really fascinating place yeah uh you talk about the crowd there were some highlights from the crowd today if i can shout a few out u s a terrified leona maguire that was really good uh that one got me good um to wonder they did one to wonder wall for like my charlie ho the fact that they have distribution of this of all these chants and i get people into it and get people singing it i heard uh nana kurt's madson like singing the song like walking to one of our shots like USA is terrified in Europe she was like muttering it under it. It sticks in your head.

But those were a few of the highlights. It was a great, great crowd, very partisan of course, but like pretty good representation on the U.S. side and like just some good crowd pops, especially. And if you're coming this weekend, Hulse 12 and 14 had great grandstands and the people camped there for a while and were so excited when the matches came through and we're just chanting and screaming. It was just a very infectious energy. And it seemed the first tea was great. this morning too. I know there's been some lacking T-Vives. It was popping half an hour, 45 minutes beforehand.

People came out in mass. Yeah. I went out with the second match. Allison Lee and Lauren Coglin with Nana Kurtz Madsen and Celine Boudier. I will give Kurtz Madsen and Boutier a lot of credit for this match reaching the 16th hole because Allison and Lauren

played awesome. I don't think they had a chip once in the first 12 or 13 holes. Didn't get a lot out of it, from Bertie standpoint, but they were constantly ahead of the Europeans. And they made a bunch of saves, a bunch of decent puts and a bunch of decent chips to stay in some holes, make some pars and keep it going. Celine Booty, they played bad. It was bad.

It was bad. It was bad. You know what else was bad? That TIO. So there was an incident in the morning. I'm told there was an incident in the afternoon as well. So right behind us on this 16th hole, there is a, pedestrian walking bridge to the right of the fairway.

And it's a normal bridge, but they've put some kind of guardrails up on it because they're crossing over. A lot of people are crossing over that. Celine Boudier hits it into the penalty area, right of the fairway, but it's on the right side of the penalty area, but in the grass.

So blocked out, like on the wrong side, I didn't see exactly by the ball. It may have had her feet in the water. Gets a rule, and the images up on the screen here as well. Gets a ruling that this bridge, bridge, which is not a tall bridge. It like comes maybe chest high, not even chest high, waist high to people walking on it,

was deemed to be in her line and she gets TIO relief from inside the penalty area. Now the rule is you do have to drop it inside the penalty area, but her nearest point of relief in the penalty area was on the left side of the canal. Yes, to drop it, drop it, and eventually place it on a perfect lie. They were two down at that time. There's a ball don't lie situation. and they lost the hole and ended up losing the match anyways. But it was it was just like the, it took a long time to get the ruling.

Angel Stanford was very, very much not happy. LC and Nellie very much not happy about it, kind of shaking their heads. Listen, it's not what we're about on the European side. So I'll apologize formally. Brentley Romine tweeted earlier that the rules officials were pleading the tournament directors to move the bridge overnight. Which I was kind of like, really, I don't know if that's necessary. then it happens again this afternoon.

Angel Yen hits a T shot in four ball that rolls in but stays on the left side of that and she ends up. I missed this. I've only been told she got TIO relief as well, which added confusion here because what happened is she ends up, you know, taking a drop, which was her TIO. Charlie Hall thought it was a penalty. Charlie Hall ends up conceding a, what she thought was a par to Angel and it was actually a birdie is what I was told by a caddy. she got free relief. And now on the actual scorecard, Yulimi no is credited with the birdie on 16.

But I think there was some confusion between Charlie and Lottie as to whether or not that she'd give him the put. Lottie said, no, we shouldn't give it to him. And Charlie's like, well, I actually already gave Angel the putt. I don't know exactly what happened there. Not good. Not good all the way around. We need to do better tomorrow on the rules front.

Timing these players. There was, I went out with the last group. We're going to match three was. Sorry. Anything else for match two? No, matched. I mean, yes, I do have a fair amount from this one. Celine Boutier is struggling with the T-ball. I'd gotten some of my sources out there telling me she was struggling with her T-ball recently, going left, hits it left off the very first hole.

I think Kurtz Madsen, sorry, hit it left off the very first hole. No, I'm sorry, it was Celine Boudier. Selene's body language was bad all day. It was bad. She did hit several really good third shots in close range to say, a bunch of these pars but i mean nanocurtz madson and selene were as inaccurate as i've seen l pga tour players be uh off the tea today um we got to the sixth hole kertz madsen just again we're playing foursums this one ball in play she just straight up chunked it in the water on six and it

was like closer to the sign in the middle of the pond than it was to clearing the pond and it wasn't raining at that point it was just a very very bad shot uh skipping ahead to the eighth hole uh sling Boudier skulls a bunker shot way over the green. And it was just like, man, there was some really bad golf played in a tight period. Allison and Lauren were a fantastic team. They were awesome to watch. I think I was told by Allison's boyfriend, I think Beth Ann might have wrote this up. Allison's the first mom to play in the Solheim Cup since like 2010.

Really? I think. I did not fact check that myself. But on AT, there's a moment like her boyfriend was holding. their son and like she kind of sends a message back to him like you know given directions of what to do with her so like she's she's being a mom in the middle of a of a solheim cup match which uh i have to have to salute that that's pretty pretty darn cool that she's out here being as competitive she has she's played awesome golf she dominated in the afternoon as well great eagle

from lauren on 10 uh just that was that was kind of the turning point it felt like of of of i think they were one up going in into the back nine and then it was like all right and then that's a that's kind of a she walked that one into walked it in and like was smiling but no one has more fun playing in these events than Lauren does she's just laughing it up like she's i didn't even realize she like walks up right next to me as i'm walking to 18T i wasn't really with this match she goes oh hello again like yo you are playing you got a point on the line here focus uh she just smiled at me after she made that eagle she was like i knew it uh she just absolutely thrives in this environment and it's just surreal to see what our relationship that started with her um kind of as a sponsor

and a friend was way back when she was on the Epson tour and just to watch her absolutely bawling out in the Solheim Cup is just an absolute treat. More to come on that front in the afternoon. I think another stat that plays in Curtis Verga, Randy, he's in his bag tonight, guys. The European team had the advantage on the first nine holes, which makes sense.

It's a much shorter nine holes, at least the way they've set it up. They won 21 holes, lost 17, and tied 34. The American team had an advantage on the second nine, which is much beefier longer. They won 19, lost 13, tied 29. So pretty big split there. One of the, a knower that I was talking to early,

three holes into this thing was like, Europe's got this front nine, the U.S. is going to dominate the back night. I was forewarned on that one, and it played out exactly, this person's probably watching. So shout out to you for that little tip. That was absolutely spot on.

It's funny that you mentioned like Europe could not stop hitting it in the water because that was like the match I was with Europe kept hitting it in the water. Celine Allison hit in the water on 15 and all Celine had to do was like hit the middle, hit the green cover the water on 15 and she hits it right in the wall. And I was surprised to see them go back out in the afternoon.

But yeah, it was not not great vibes with them. Nana did make a bomb. 12, which was like one of the most exciting holes with the crowd. And they just kept battling, kept staying in it. But the U.S. was just too much in that one. So first two points on the board to the U.S. But match three, we did not have anyone else out with this one, but Esther Hinslet. I watched a little bit of this at the end.

And Leona McGuire won two up over Andrea Lee and Lindy Duncan. That one made it all the way to 18. They won the first hole, Esther and Leona. And they did not give that up. They were either one or two up the entire day. I do. We draw back and watch this and I really want to focus in. I don't know how many people audit,

but the 14th hole still just baffles me. So they were two down going into 14, excuse me, going into 13. And Andrea made a bomb. Get it back to one down. Long par 4, 16th, or excuse me, the 14th. 14. goes up there.

It's like a kind of a spinny week drive to the right underneath the tree. Lindy does. Andrew is underneath this tree and Lindy's like, do not take it on playable. It's a baby pine. Don't take it on playable. Hit it back over to 13 fairway. Just hit it over to 13 fairway and we'll play in from that angle.

There is a ditch water on the other side of that. Similar to what happened with Carloa on 18. Very much. and Andrew goes Okay, and last thing when he said was, make sure it gets to the fairway. Okay, so now Andrew is juiced up.

It's in the water. Meanwhile, on the other side, the other team is like basically playing it as a par five now because they know, oh, they're over there, they're already at a ball in the hazard. They finally make it up there. They have a put for double bogey.

It should have been out of it. Leona lines out, you know, Leon, basically, they have to two putt from like 15 feet. They let Leona, like, run it in and make the put and steal all the momentum back. And I'm like sitting there. And there was a lot going on because there's a ruling. The rain started picking up again. And I'm like, man, what a decisive moment where they were thinking so much about like their individual partnership and not about the match.

And they just let Leona suck all that energy back up and go sprinting to the next hole. Esther hit a really good bunker shot. Very good. He did. Yeah. Yeah, that one was, like, you know, I think the U.S. was looking to kind of shut up the haters and losers saying that the Lindy pick was maybe a lifetime accomplishment award. But, but yeah, big, big points for, for a year up there. And then the last match, Rose and Jennifer Cupshow against Maya Stark and Lynn Grant.

and that was I followed this the entire front nine and then I kind of wanted to just see what was going on in some of the matches they were four up

through seven they should have probably been five up through eight they kind of lost a little bit of momentum there on 10 Rose and Cup show

Birdie or sorry Eagle 10 Birdie 11 and then got it back to you know kind of got it back to two up and then Maya and Lynn took back over from there. So I was impressed with Maya and Lynn all day. They had a certain lightness about them.

They had a really, they were not super accurate off the tee, but the wedge play was awesome. Putters look good. You know, I think Lynn's been catching some flack in these circles. You quit her. But not for this event. I know. She's a dog in this event.

You gave her the flack. So I was surprised to see them sitting this afternoon. However, I think that's, that's, you know, them kind of, you know, learning from think a courtesans, like her plan, she was gassed by the time they got to Sunday singles on that front. Yeah, I'll be, we'll talk a little bit about what, what we think might, might happen here for tomorrow. So two, two, after the morning. After the morning.

Only other note I had for this, from this morning, I know, talking to about. bunch of people out there. I had about three different people just tell me like Megan Kang's putting's a problem. It's a problem. And it's been a problem on, you know, in actual events, but even in practice this week, like it's a problem, which I thought was going to be potentially some foreshadowing for this afternoon. But that was a definite vibe. A lot of, a lot of people worried about Angel, you know, this Angel situation is for those that haven't been following. She's been injured for a significant portion of the season came back just right before the Solheim Cup, but has not played much golf or played good golf at all.

She lost a bunch of weight and was potentially going to be replaced by Lillia Voo. She has elected to play. Lillia flew here with the team, flew home for a friend's wedding, I think. Yes, yeah, she's now left as it intramated clear that she was going to play.

I did insert myself into the story a little bit today. I made sure to try to become part of the story. We were on, as on the eighth hole and the in the fours match the Europeans conceded to Allison and Lauren

when they had like an eight foot birdie putt for three because they had already played four shots they were lying four and putting five and the the score announced the score as four USA four Europe five and I was like oh that's weird so I just like walk up to him and I asked him

I was like how do you determine what the what the score is you know if if if it's conceded he was like oh you assume that they made that put. I just kind of looked at it. I was like, well, okay, but that was for three. And, and like Kay Cockrell had have made her way over there by then as well, because she had the same question. He just looks and he says, it was three. And so I got, I got the official score changed or else there might have been an error. You know, I don't want to counten. I used to

live here in Amsterdam. I was, you know, I got to get myself inserted in some way. But that's about it for the morning. So the pairings for this afternoon. we have still kind of expected, I think, but on the U.S. side, we had Lindy Duncan sitting, Andrea Lee sitting, Jennifer Kupcho, and Rose Zhang. On the European side, a little bit of a surprise, Lynn Grant and Maya Stark after their morning when they sat, they sat, when they sat as well. But match won out again, Charlie Hall and Lottie Wode versus Angel Yin and Yolimi No. I went almost every shot with that one.

We'll get into that. Match two was Celine Boudier and Nana Kurtz Madsen, who went back out after a rough morning. They were up against Megan Kang and Allison Lee. Match three was Mimi Rhodes and Nastasia Nadoud against Allison Corpus and Austin Kim. And then the final match was Carlo dauganda, Julia Lopez Ramirez, and Nellie Corda, and Lauren Coglin. Guys, that opening match was, that was Pete Golf. I think between the four ball, you know, not counting multiple birdies. like if you just did best score among the group, among the four players in that group, they were 15 under par in 18 holes. It, from the jump, Lottie birdied two,

three, four and five and maybe six. I don't know, Charlie jumps in, uh, and made a birdie on six. It looked like they were going to dominate that match. I at one point walked away from it, uh, thinking they're about to go four up and this is over. Like I don't,

I do not see a path back. Uh, for you leave me know an angel yin. there were some struggles going on in that group. We get to the 12th hole with the Europe already three up. Lottie hits the flagstick from the right side with their approach. It stops four feet from the hole. And at that moment, I was like, all right, that's to go four up, the five to play. Like, I need to find another match.

You'll leave me no rolls in a 15 footer for Bertie. And Lottie misses that short putt. So what I thought was going to be four up, then it went to two up. the U.S. bounces back and wins 13 with a par. They go to 14. They have 14, have 15, have 16. You'll leave me know hits an incredible fairway bunker shot out of the left fairway bunker on a downslope.

I'm sitting there with Andrea Lee talking about it. And as soon as she made impact with it, Andrew was like, oh, I don't think we thought that she could get it out over the lip, much less get it to the green, hits it six feet short of the hole, makes the birdie putt. she went birdie on 15 birdie on 16 birdie on 17 all the way back to tide she had a look on 18 maybe 20 25 footer

on 18 to win the match outright it barely missed Angel Ian had some highlights she birded the second hole birded the seventh birded the eighth everything else was about as disastrous as it could have gotten it was if I'm the U.S

I am thinking about how I got Angel Everybody's got to play at least once I think it makes total sense to get her out in four ball Yes Friday instead of Saturday Yeah

Find out what you've got She played She went out in that opening match It worked out to perfection For the U.S. That she played terrible She got She contributed at some really

great moments When they needed to on the front nine And you'll leave me know Just went into God mode On the back nine And they got a half out of it against Europe's best team. Like, U.S. has to be over the moon.

I think there's next to zero chance that she is playing tomorrow. I think the next time we see Angel will be in singles. I think that's the right call because it was not good. It was really not good. It was all over the place. The whole U.S. team was hanging out, you know, falling in the final matches, I got word she came back to the range and was banging, beaten balls. but this situation that a lot of people were concerned with heading into this Solheim Cup

has definitely reared its head. Not good. It just, you know, bears, it'll be interesting to see where they put her out on Sunday as well from a sequencing perspective. And I say all that to like I love Angel. She's a shot of life. Like she was genuinely funny out there. She was doing putting forth max effort.

She was not moping. She was doing the opposite of mope. She birdied like the seventh hole and like did like a little like jump onto two feet to get the ball out of the hole. Like she's just a she's a she's a riot. She's very funny. She had a very bad six iron on a 12 and had a pretty good meltdown just like blaming the six iron. Like every single six iron she hit was awful. She got to 14.

She's in the middle of fairway and like they, Yulimi needed her at this exact moment in the middle of the fairway. It's over a shot and backs off and just like puts her club down just goes like to like pump herself up. she's crazy gets back into it hits it on the green after that Charlie Hall like goes up to her like Charlie was like I didn't actually hear it but I said something along the lines of like like did I put you off like did you back off because of me and Angel's like no no no no you didn't do anything she's like okay sorry because that that was weird I'll just bring my hype guy

yeah well you would never see any other player do that and there was just there was a ton of those throughout the course of the day from her but match two I will say this by the end of her match she finished they went to her they put the camera on her

and she was in tears very emotional about how she finished from the time that I watched that in the media center to the probably 10 minutes later she was out on the driving range that's very close to us right now

back to laughing and giggling again like literally was like wow that took it all in got the emotions out and was right back to out grinding and like laughing and joking and saw me from across the T-boxes, hey, Cody.

So, well, shout out. I mean, she got a half point and, like, she can do something in singles. She can either get a great matchup. I threw out the idea. I was, I was throwing out the idea. Who was out here today? She's an assistant cat.

Yeah, I know. I saw out the idea. Why not send, like, Europe is going to send either Lottie or Charlie out first. Send her out first. Send her out, like put her, either make her be a sacrificial lamb or get, if she can somehow get a half. something from her. Have her ride that, you know, pull the boo weekly down the fairway and singles,

but yeah, I think she is probably, probably, I just, I have gained a completely newfound respect for you, leave me know. Just incredible, incredible iron play. A lot of players out here hit draws.

She was hitting the highest and best fades of any one I've, anyone I've seen at this level, like just really, really, really, proper shots. She hit the stick on 15. I mean, their backs are against the wall.

Angel has completely lost at this point. Hit the stick. on the par 3 15th made that birdie was in position to make that birdie on 16th the stick was getting beat up it was yeah there was a lot of uh lot of shots off the stick uh and then made that that awesome bird on 17 it was just it was it was clinical golf she was five or six under i think on that back nine um and doing all again lottie and charlie were awesome lottie carried the load for the majority of the day and every time it seemed like charlie was needed she came up and made like a 25 foot put made the crowd erupt it was it was

theater. I don't regret bailing on that match when I did. It was very unlikely that they would flip back the way that it did. But that was an absolute highlight to follow in that one today. Yeah, just a massive, massive tie on the board of what looked like was going to be blue all freaking day. Second match, I didn't get a great feel for this one. This one felt, like, Cody, we watched a lot of this one in the media center. It was raining pretty hard for a while there. This was Megan Kang and Allison Lee against Celine Boutier and Nana Kurtz Manson. And just Celine just

felt like she, I don't know if somebody yelled something in her back swing on one hole, but she was put off by that. I was just shocked to see them go back out this afternoon. That was the one big surprise. Of course, they

brought the rookies out and then paired up Lopez Ramirez with Carlota. But yeah, Celine and Nana, I was shocked to see them come out and Megan and Allison played like very good golf and beat them handily. And that's where, you know, two of the players we were most concerned with on the U.S. side were Megan Kang's form and of course Angel Yin with the injury. And Megan answered the bell.

She absolutely answered the bell, rolled, you know, had struggled with the putter up in the early part of the day. But when she rolled in that birdie putt, the birdie putt, she rolled in 11 was a complete flip of, of her day. She birded 11, steps up birded 12 as well, then birdied 14. And then Allison responded and birdied 15 as well to win. I mean, they went from one up to winning five and three in a very

Allison Eagle 10. Like Allison had a few birdies in there as well. Like it was good golf. It was I don't think they were, I don't think they were getting beat this afternoon. No, I think, yeah. Megan, you know, do you think we see Megan in foursums tomorrow morning? We may have.

Yeah, she sat this morning. I would I would say probably not still I think we're probably seeing the same foursums on the U.S. side tomorrow morning. We're going to find out here shortly and if you're listening to this on replay you probably already know the answer to that

but she was the one person I think that played this afternoon that didn't play this morning I guess and she was pumping everybody up this morning what do with a cowboy hat on? I have the parings. You have the parents. Okay. You want me to wait?

let's get through the next two and then then we'll wait. Yeah. I didn't get to see a lot of Allison Corpoo's and Austin Kim against Mimi Rhodes and Natasha Nadal. I did see Austin Kim give a little P. Reed, have a little P. Reed moment with a draining a put on 15. Austin Kim's got swag. Yeah.

She had those crew socks on. She had a couple pretty filthy wedge or pitch shots that I saw. I'd like what Al, I like what Austin Kim's putting down. I know you're a fan of team

I find this US team to be very likable. They are. There are a ton of the personalities are just very, just genuine people. A lot of smiles out there, a lot of great energy.

You know, even Angel who had the worst golf day, she could have probably imagined, like, was still smiling and having a great time. I'm just very impressed with a lot of the, how the,

the energy around the U.S. team. I was impressed by. There's no Lexi. Yeah. I was impressed by the, rookies on the European side. Nadad made three birdies on the front nine.

Mimi Rhodes has swag as well. She's got a presence to her. She comes out, birdies 10. They were kind of, you know, they were tied at the turn. And then they go up, you know, one up through 10, two up through 12, three up through 14 and then got it done from there. So. And big spot for two rookies step up and win in four ball.

Because Corpus has been just an excellent Soulheim Cup player. It was cool. Those two and Natasia and Mimi shared like a real and their caddy shared like just a very real genuine hug afterwards with a very real sense of accomplishment and excitement of like, yeah, we're not playing in the morning. We were putting everything into this match

and like trying to put a point up on the board and they did it. And you could just, you know, when like Nellie and Allison win a match, there's not like genuine excitement or surprise. When they did it, it would just look like they were having the time of their lives. And they were, you know, like, it's not like they were shoeing picks. I mean, I think Nastassia was pretty far off the board as far as a wild card pick, but certainly they saw something in the statistics and something in the attitudes there. And yeah, Mimi gained a fan in me today.

And then the main event, Nellie and Lauren against Carlota and Julia Lovie. Lopez Ramirez. Yeah. I caught up with this with the end. It definitely feels like the U.S. let one get away a little bit. Granted, they were two down through 10. They won the 11th hole and won the 12th hole to tie it up,

won the 13th to take a one-up lead. They did lose the 16th when Carlota drained an eagle put. Nellie hit one in the water from 167 yards. The U.S. still got a birdie. Lauren was able to make a burdy there. So Carloa's massive putt on 16. It was truly like, Lauren was like, all right,

Nellie, you're going to take the front nine. I'm going to take the back nine. Like Nellie, Nellie played well kind of getting off the bus there. And then Lauren just absolutely turned it on there on the back nine. Yep. She birdied 11.

She birdied 12 as well. Also was the one that, as I mentioned, that birdied 16. And we get to 18. You know, Carlota takes. Hold on. Before we get to 18, I do want to give Carlota some props in that she, A, she had three birdies in the front nine. She had an unbelievable shot into 16. Like, it was a pin that was tucked right over this front little bowl ridge with water in front. And from whatever she was out, 200 out, if you miss that at all or catch it thin at all, it's going to

that back bunker and you're you're probably making five and she made a it was probably 15 16 foot put for eagle there so that was to that was to tie it up um and then yeah and then just you know going to 18 like you're thinking all right like she's the ultimate villain she's playing i mean she she she played slow like it took him 20 25 minutes to play 17 even um but but you're thinking all right surely she can't she can't get this up and down she can't make this put and she does. The T shot was so bad. It took forever to hit the T shot. I timed that one a minute and two seconds. Hit like a chunk pop-up butt three wood, but found the fairway linking those two holes was a great break. I don't know what her, I think she had a pretty clear line

at the hole from what I could tell from the wrong fairway and blows it way, way right. I actually played the third shot relatively quickly, but the second shot. Really cool. I was watching on TV, really cool drone shot because they couldn't get a camera over there. So they just tried to have a drone. It was awesome. Perfect. Perfect time for him. I think it honestly was between two and three minutes to hit the second shot. Just kept backing off

just against the spirit of the game stuff. Can't have it. I don't know how she keeps getting away with it. I really... I don't either. It's kind of a disgrace. The minute and 27 seconds to hit her final putt, which she poured in the center and did the full polter.

And it was always going to end that way. It just always was. Europe makes that put every time to end every day of team play that we'll ever watch. I thought Lopez Ramirez, she showed up. She was like the moment was not too big for her. A couple of birdies. Oh, yes. Overall today. I thought you were talking about 18. No, no, she was a struggling coming in. It hits the hill. It hits the hill. Yeah. It was a worthy risk. I think she had to take that risk. They needed to make a four. She didn't even made that chip. I know. She did. Yeah, that was good. She did. She knew it too. man they're they're a fun partnership

like they're gonna be together for a long time that one I think they're going out two rounds tomorrow sure you know it will be a long time of course it's gonna be a long time yeah do you know think not here for a good time actually I was like oh when I saw the pairings I was like oh at least at least she's in the last one I'm like oh wait a second

I felt so bad watching Nelly realize what was happening in front of her, starting right here on the 16th green, and then like just grasping and grasping and grasping. I saw a bunch of people. The internet's mad at Elsie that said she choked on the put. It was Josh. She just left it short. We're day one of the Solheim Cup here. I think Elsie's played pretty damn good so far. I think she shot like 31. Today it's been unreal, but...

I think she'd tell you she needed to get that there as well. For sure. She knows that. And Carloa got a... You know, she got two looks at that putt that she had. She got a lot more than two looks at that. My thing is back to Nellie is that how much she was freaking out, just grinding. Do you know what Nellie is?

The European side, we have Esther and Leona. That is the same pairing. It's a good pairing. They're in a different spot. They're up to second. They complimenting Cote. Maya and Lynn is the same pairing. They went from fourth up to first. Charlie and Lottie went from first to last out. And then the other one is Mimi and Natasha. They are in for Nana Kurtz Madsen and Celine Boudier, which that one makes a lot of

I don't know if we see Celine and Nana, or at least Nana until Sunday. Yeah. And I think you were downgrading them leading into today. I think Lynn and Maya have been upgraded to the alphas on this European team. I don't like downgrade. I picked the European team to win. No, but those two, you're saying, oh, like, it's going to be, it's going to be sad. I said they have to do it if we get a win. I didn't expect them to, even though I picked it.

And they also sat this afternoon. You can't be the alphas if you sat the afternoon of day one. I will say there is a putter, uh, that carried a lot of weight for that team. And it wasn't Lynn's. Lynn hit the ball. Amazing though. Yeah. Yeah, Maya didn't drive it great either.

It was really impressive. They scrambled well, too. They're just good. They're just, they like being around each other. They're comfortable. No, they hate losing.

Yeah. They just, it gets them. Lynn's got our boyfriend on the bag. Yeah. And like, you know, I was talking to hats like in between shots.

And he's just like, dude, he's like just, everything, everything that whoever they're playing against, it just gets under both of their skin. And they just fucking eat on it. But they were smiling the whole day and laughing.

And you juxtapose that with Rose was a delight to watch. She was so unbothered. And you can't tell if she's too up or two down. It doesn't really affect her. And it's such a juxtaposition with Cupcho. The Cupcho is just bothered by everything and just always has a scowl on her face. Or just side eyes galore. It's just, it's kind of entertaining.

It's a fun juxtaposition. So. What else we miss from, uh, from. today. Any other, any other highlights? Favorite hole in the course for match play purposes. I think 10's been fun to watch just because you're seeing second shots into a par five. They need to come in from short and judge a run-up. And I'm, you know, maybe that's my favorite because I saw a lot of amazing shots on that hole.

I saw several Eagles on that hole today, but it's not like a, a gimmy short iron eagle par five. Like, it's an earned. So a couple great putts and a couple just really, really, really good golf shots on that. An alt shot, a foursum's eagle just hits a little different. It's just, that one's been a highlight. Great crowds. Eight's great, too. Eight's the short, part four, driveable par four.

That's been really fun. I think the first par five has been good too. What was that one? Two or three? Three? Or two. Yeah, yeah. Two's good.

Five was playing a little long, my opinion. I think they're worried about pace of play kind of stacking up there. with two par fives and a part three in the first, you know, five holes there. And then another part three on six. But, um, dude, like this place is, this place is good. It's really good. There's some weird, like, there's like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,

18th of, left of, left of, there's like, it kind of looks like a shoebox. It's like this elongated, like, rectangle shaping. Mr. court, right? Mr. Corr would not be thrilled with that. But overall, like, the concepts are really, it, it, I think it's, it's doing the right stuff. Yeah. It's, it's not, um, it's not like the cream of the crop, but it easily clears the bar.

And just, I don't know, man, just not having traditional circular bunkers. It does so much, like it makes the course feel more natural. It's not a natural course, but it at least, but makes it feel a lot less contrived. It feels like a mix of links in Heathland. Yeah. Put together. Like those two things. Solly, I got to tell you,

these Dutch people are so tall. So tall. They're so tall, and they either have great, wonderful hair or no hair at all. They're all dressed really well. They're good golf fans, even the ones that are relatively new to the game.

I saw a ton of Swedes out there. A lot of Swedes made the trip down. So proud of my Swedes. I was blown away by that environment, like around on that 12th hole. I mean, there were some freaking roars, man. Like it, uh, yeah, it's way bigger crowds, way better crowds than Spain. I mean, last year

in DC, this, these people blow the DC crowds out of the water. This kind of feels, this feels stronger than Inverness felt even. Yes. I mean, this is like shaping up to be freaking incredible. And I think the, the ability to go from, you know, one hole to four holes over. Yes. Very, very, very quickly. And then you hear the roars really well. And all of the hospitality and all of the grandstands are positioned really thoughtfully. Yeah. I think too. It really enhances the experience.

So everybody that's been planning this, the logistics were really seamless this morning coming from, you know, like players are staying down south. There's, there's probably three different like cities that people are staying in and everybody's converging here. A bunch of people biked.

Uh, shuttles were smooth. It's been, it's been exceptionally well run. It's a, it's a remarkably like kind of pure experience out there. Like if I contrast this with the

Rider Cup of how corporate that all feels, it is, even the branding is, it's all kind of the same color. It's natural. It blends in. Yeah.

Do you see the plywood? They have plywood. They just showed up plywood under one of the grandstands. That's such a genius idea. Enjoy nature. It's not just, you know, plywood and then they put like a graphic,

like the letter font over it. Which I didn't even notice it was plywood because I saw that it was, I had a graphic on it. But even like, you know, all the advertising signs are all the same color. And it just is, and there's almost no concessions out there. There's a massive fan village though.

There's a huge fan. There's big centers of gravity. It's just like a remarkably not, it's just everything in golf is, as it gets bigger, just shoves. It feels more like a Walker Cup experience. Yeah,

advertising in the best ways. And yeah, the vibes of just like, kind of letting people walk where they, where they want to inside the ropes and not get in the way. it just is this is it man this is like

I you know I sometimes roll my eyes at your overreaction to the Ryder Cup never wanted to go again and only wanted to come here and I'm kind of like man this is this is kind of it

I can watch the Ryder Cup on TV and see a lot more golf yeah but the but like we were highly critical of the LET and specifically the Spanish Federation for their they ran the Spain

still hunt and this is IMG and like they've done yeah and the the Dutch government supported it. It's been great in the local community. It's about the golf. There's no one's talking about a stupid controversy now.

Everyone's talking about the golf. And then I think too, like the weather's going to be better tomorrow. It's supposed to be a banger of a day tomorrow. That's great because I give the crowds out here a lot of credit. Like it was it was kind of scratchy right from the start. And there was in and out moisture all day. And then it started raining pretty hard around 2 o'clock,

three o'clock after lunch. It was just, yeah, and it got pretty cold too. So, very wet on this. It has probably stopped and started raining 46 times since we've, since we've been here. Is that fair to say?

A lot. Yeah. Not a lot of places where you can just be like watching a match and you turn around and look and you're like, oh yeah, that's like the United States ambassador to the Netherlands. Yeah. Like just watching excited because Nellie's like, you know,

he's a golfer. was a highlight some great food well haig was great yeah elversum was great yeah you you showed us around amsterdam which was exceptional we got on supplies got wet um um den bosh cool you know cool like there's probably 15200 000 people that live there it's like going to greenville south carolina or portland main or something of that size where like you get some you get a taste of denmark or of of of holland outside of of the big city uh uh Yeah, which has been really cool. The Bosch Bowl. Boschabon.

Delicious. Massive, like, chocolate. Test their thing here. I hope I run into one of those. Yeah. It needs, if it's not open, we're in trouble because we are, we are in trouble. We are in trouble. Yeah, food is not.
