called it as you heard last night here I think unanimous. Yeah, 1513. That was not the prediction I had going into the week, but I think we just kind of saw it last night. It did not feel like, you know, it wasn't a dead cat bounce at the end of yesterday. It just didn't feel like it was going to be sustainable

all through singles. We are going to go through Sunday at the Solheim Cup. We're going to look back on the week that was. We're going to hand out of some grades, some interesting press conference quotes afterwards. We're going to visit some of that. We'll do some second. guessing like we do every time on these Sunday recaps after team events and tie an official

bow on the 2026 Solheim Cup. We did not get to watch much of Shane Lowry's 11 shot win. It's coming across my desk at the Irish Open, but we will chat briefly about that. P solo second. P solo second. That's got T.C. very excited. I know the live bankruptcy filing was out this week. Not been a big focus for us, but we are going to go through some items that Sean Zock wrote

about earlier this week as well. So that's our run of show for tonight. It's raining again now. It is. It has started and stopped raining upwards of 60 times, probably, I would say, since we've been here. But we are recording this outdoor here, overlooking the 16th green. So if you can do hear some more rain on the roof, we hear a variety of sounds. Or a Carlo de Ciganda chant. The Guardians have broken container back here behind us, you know, back here by the clubhouse as well. And yeah, do you want to have your gloating moment?

You want to have your celebratory moment here? I mean, I don't think there's that much to gloat about. They just outplayed them today. I think hats off, literal, hats, I took the dumb tool of hat off. Hats off to Captain Nordquist. I thought she was class all week. And, you know, hat off to Angela Stanford as well. I thought she was, she ran a clean program this week and had some challenges, some obstacles to deal with.

And it was like, I really enjoyed this week because it was truly about the golf. There wasn't a bunch of other extraneous bullshit going on. It was like, no, like this is high level golf. The women competed well. And like the setup was awesome. The course was awesome. Fans were awesome. There was no controversy.

It was just a good, clean week of golf. And that's like what we've been asking for for the last five years out of this event. I mean, I would ask for a little bit of controversy to spice up tonight. We had the angel. stuff early in the week. We've got a little bit of the green speed stuff, I guess. A little bit. We tried to drum up some. I don't know what got into me in the press conference. I turned into the detective.

That was the most press conference questions I've ever asked. But I can kind of tell there was some things that Angela wanted to get off her chest a little bit. I tried to help her along the way. We'll get into some of that as well. I thought Carlota Seaganda had maybe the most interesting press conference quote. She was asked by Brutley. I was getting ready to ask

this. Brumine asked with what happened yesterday. evening what was one moment that was the most motivation for you coming out today and then what is the feeling to be able to get revenge like you did she smiled and said i was really happy to see that i was playing against cup show she's a fighter i'm a fighter and i told her look great playing i mean even yesterday what she did on 17 and 18 but today i knew she had no chance i was like i want to kill you which is just i love that was the highlight of the day to me was that quote from carolos Cagonda.

Carlota, she's, she's got that edge, man. You know, she doesn't say a whole lot. She doesn't move quickly, but she moves with decisive action. So, yeah, we will break down,

you know, kind of go, we're going to go match by match here, and I'll do a tiny bit of second guessing. But as I think we'll kind of get to, it was, it just never felt like the U.S.

had the horses. It felt like they were pretty fortunate to be 8-8 as of last night. Just didn't love how the draw shook out. I will, you know, do some second. We did some first guessing, I think we can say last night of sending Megan Kang out first, sending Angel Yan out third. Megan Kang drew Charlie Hall first, Angel Yen drew Lynn Grant. I think there's a case to be made from a strategy perspective of if you get even a half point out of one of those two matches, that's a win.

You're predicting maybe, again, if I'm putting myself in Angel Stanford's shoes, you're predicting that Europe is going to go strong in both of those spots. trying to find a place where I hate to say it this way, but Angel Yin can kind of be a sacrificial lamb. She was completely uncompetitive this week. That's not the worst draw. I mean, she got drummed by Lynn Grant, who did not even play well today. And then Megan Kang in that opening match, it was a gamble. It was a gamble. And it was a, she was a captain's pick. That's a different, different spot than Angel Yen. Angel was kind of saddled with Angel Yen this week. It was a captain's pick for Megan, Megan Kang. Her putter was extremely questionable coming in. a lot of player with people close to that team.

That's all they were talking about was how she was not hitting the hole on four foot putts. And it was very bad. It was extremely bad. She had a straight eight foot putt. I believe on the seventh hole today that missed by two cups. And I said to you guys, if I had a single putt that missed by that much, I would switch to the broomstick. If I hit one putt like that.

And for that to be a captain's pick and to send out first, it was a big gamble and it did not work. Charlie Hall beat her three and two. and that was the first point of the board for team europe yeah megan bogey the first hole got down early didn't didn't lead at all today i think her only birdie was the eighth hole if i'm remember right and everybody was burning yeah everybody is a driveable par four and it could not have been a much easier hole um so she literally made made zero putts all day and took it to 16 lost three and two like charley didn't play lights out but she did what she had to do she got up early and then she just played smart golf she birdied both the both the par fives on the back and that was that

we will go through these these matches in order of how they finished angel yin was and lynn grant grant won this one four and three this was only going to go one way i i think we laughed at what the odds were on this match last night i just could not have pictured the world i think angel shot five over sally told me he was going to he was going to throw all of his all of his crypto holding this match and we did not i know it's it's hot in these streets where there were no bets placed outside of any jurisdictions that were not allowed to do so. So ignore all of that, everything he's saying that did not happen. But yeah, this was, I mean, Grant, she,

Lynn Grant made a mess of the 10th hole. Angel had to make a par put from off the green on a par five to tie that hole, or to win that hole even after Lynn Grant made one of her few only mistakes she made all day just to go two up. But Grant won it easily, four and three. Every time Angel got any momentum going. I mean, she stepped up, after winning 10, stepped up and hit a tree. three. There's not, you see any trees out in that golf course?

Hit a tree off the team, R3, um, left of the green. It was, it was tough. And she had a tough time on 11 this week. That was the one where she, she wiped it into the water that I didn't see that there was water on that hole. Yeah. My first glance. So, so, so if you weren't following this leading up, uh, to the Solheim Cup, Angel, uh, had a back injury, missed a significant portion of the year, came back rather quickly. also had, I believe, an illness that contributed her losing somewhere in the realm of 35 pounds. And she made one start prior to the Solheim Cup show, I think 81.76. And put Stanford in a difficult situation of figuring out if she needed to, you know, was Angel going to be on the team before she made the captain's picks? When she made the captain's picks, Lily Vu ended up coming over, who was somehow in, I believe,

worse form than Angel was in. She was here as the alternate. And ultimately, I look, I think we, you know, we talked about this for like the, the final month leading up to this, that this was a potential problem, and that problem played out. They're able to get a half point, thanks to you'll leave me know in the four ball match,

but there was nowhere to hide Angel today. And, you know, if whoever is playing in that match flips that one, when Lynn Grant was quite beatable, the way the maths shook out, the U.S. would have retained the cup. That's got to burn even more than to know that, I mean, I guess my question is like, why,

you know, I know Angel would say, hey, I earned the right to play and I'd like to. But if you're not in form and you're not fit to play, it doesn't seem like it just, I just wonder why she wanted to play so badly. It felt a little bit, dare I say, selfish. I really like Angel. And I think she could have played a role for this team

without having to hit the shots. I think she could have come over, had a ton of fun, be the team mascot. I mean, she literally dressed up as evil caneval on Saturday and dance around on the team. I think she could have done that and they could have found somebody in better competitive form to take that spot. So I don't want to put, you know, we'll have plenty of blame to kind of pass around on the U.S. side and we're always going to look for a scapegoat.

I don't want to put it all on Angel who like was in a great mood all week, tried her damn hardest, was like very seriously into it. And I'm feeling for it in this moment. And I know, you know, something, you can make a case for you get in a competitive situation. You know, your body is just going to react to it. Your health is going to bounce back. Your back feels better. all of that and that just didn't play out but it was not hard to see this coming

and these were two very evenly matched teams coming in even like everybody kind of knew hey the margins are thin here yeah so unfortunate there match two so the match in between this when Allison Lee went out second she drew Esther Hinslet from the European side

Esther had Allison on the speed bag earlier got it all the way up to four up at one point but she kind of fell apart a little bit on the back nine and Allison got hot, as we've seen the Americans do, uh, on this back nine. He then stepped up won the 16th hole to get it back to all square. Then stepped up birdy 17.

Uh, and this was that already looking at the way the board was shaking out behind her. It was already looking like I do not see a path to victory without Allison come back and winning this match. And she did it. It, it was a stay of execution for the US ultimately, but four and no. Her first Solheim cup as a mom. We talked about this last time. She was eight, nine weeks.

pregnant during the 2024 Solheim Cup wasn't able to say anything publicly about that had to sit out morning sessions because of morning sickness. I was back first I correcting the record as it has been pointed out she's the first American mom to play in the Solheim Cup since 2010. Apologies to all the British and European mothers out there. Yes that was I yeah my hand up mistake for me on that one. To step up and go four and oh she had mentioned she had a two and five record in the Solheim Cup prior to this.

was, I just did not, I'm not sure she saw a career renaissance like this coming back. She'd mentioned, she joked, I think, on Friday or Saturday with Tom Abbott, that she was a co-worker of Tom Abbott's as of like earlier this year. She did commentary on the booth earlier this year. The West Coast Swain. And is dominating the Solheim Cup. It was just awesome to see. Allison Burdied six of her last 10. I mean, you know, four down after 11, three down. It's crazy. What a crazy comeback. It was impressive.

Cody, look like you almost had something there. No, you guys covered it. In the fourth match. So that made it 10-9 Europe. The fourth match was Nelly Korda versus Mimi Rhodes. Nellie played fantastic. She shot about minus seven.

She was three up through nine. This one was never in doubt. She ended up winning this one, four and two. It made it 10 to 10. But again, there was a lot of stuff going on down the board that made it clear that,

This was not tied at this point. A lot was made out of Nelly not playing in the afternoon yesterday, not feeling well. I think that decision was ultimately, ended up working great for Angel Stanford. They went three and one in the afternoon yesterday, got a lot of points out of it, and Nellie came back in the four spot and won her match decisively today.

Hard to argue. That would not be where things went wrong for the U.S. Mimi played well. Like she didn't play poorly. Nellie just won. I was a little bit surprised with Captain Stanford's press conference. She was asked about the way that the draw shook out. And she put a lot of emphasis on getting the players that played a lot, rest heading into Sunday.

You know, like just sending them out later in the draw. And I was a little bit surprised to hear that. I'm like, it's like a 11-10 story. 45-minute difference, maybe. It felt a little bit, maybe over-emphasizing. an hour wake-up difference between, you know, 11-10 versus 12-10 maybe or 12-10 versus 1 o'clock. And aren't they all, do they all not all arrive together also? Yeah, the first Friday and Saturday they arrived a single-team bus all at the same time.

Today there was two waves. So the early, I think the first 25, whatever, shook out to be 30 minutes, came in an earlier bus, plus those who wanted to do physio, warm-up, things like that here. And then there was a later bus to. Can I use this moment to just shout out. Cody McBride has answers to almost every question on the LPGA tour. His depth and knowledge of everything going on the LPGA tour, you know, well, something will come up and he's like, oh, yeah,

so-and-so's dating so-and-so and oh, that didn't work. Like, he just has, he's got all the details and strikes too, okay. Oh, you know, you know all the balls and strikes, but then like the level of detail of which the inner workings all, kinds of off the record stuff like you got that that man has got you all right so uh i just want to shout out uh your massive efforts this week as well and then this is where it starts getting weird after that one like it's two it's two it's two basically it's 10 10 there and then all hell kind of breaks loose yeah and this was this was it just never looked good in this section uh of the

board it's it's the they know they split the first third of the board match five is alison corpus and Nana Kurtz Madsen. But it ends up being Andrea Leah and Nastasia Nadeau, who settled their match next. That was the fifth point. Nadeau won that one, three and two. That brought Europe up to an 11-10 lead.

She won the eighth and tenth holes to get to that two-up lead. She was just extremely solid all throughout. Andrea did not have the best Solheim Cup. And then Nadeau ends up making a great birdie from the back bunker to close it out, have a pretty great moment on the most, one of the louder holes you can close out a match, the 16th and put a key point on the board. We'll do some grades

and everything later, but Nastassia Nadeau goes three and one in her first Soheim Cup. It was great to see stuff ending on 15 and 16 on either side, because that's where all the juice was on the golf course. In 17, too. You're looking at match five last night, and I have to

again, I would not have seen a path to victory that would have included Allison Corpoo's losing to Nana Kurtz Madsen. How Kurtz Madsen looked on Friday, going O and two and sitting all day Saturday. Allison is kind of who you're one of one of one of your horses you're riding a lot and it was not her best golf today. Nana Critsmanson made a great birdie on 12 to go to up, drain to bomb on 14 to go three up got a little close there near the end.

And Madsen ended up winning that one two and one. But that was the, the six point six match. That was 1210 Europe. At this point, it's like, all right, you kind of got a let you should I have the tweets I was writing out like six things in a row have to happen in this way and the U.S. can't lose ground in any of them and it just that's never a fun tweet to be sending like 3 p.m. when there's a lot of matches still in the golf course. This was one where I thought when when Allison like you know, Allison got down early she was two down early. She lost the first hole got it back to one she was she was one down like she birded seven birdied uh birdied eight birded nine birdied 10 like it was like all right like this is this thing's close and then

Nana just played well she played really good golf she birded 12 and then 30 14 and like that was I mean she was three up by that point and I think just got away from her before it could really like it was just I think like Allison didn't lose that match I think Nana won it props to her for she was probably the biggest biggest question mark coming into Sunday

for the European side yep yeah I think we we spend a fair amount of lead up time and time this week kind of questioning a little bit of the depth of team Europe and that was a massive question mark heading into today and that ends up being like the decide like if Angel would have step up day and Anna Kurtz Madsen does not then the US is celebrating tonight and Europe is not and

you needed needed someone who had a tough start to the Solheim Cup to bounce back and perform and I mean they got point and we'll get to this as well but they got wins out of I mean two players sat all day yesterday for Europe. Yulia Lopez Ramirez sat all day as well. Do I have it? Julia.

Julia. God. Or the Netherlands. Do you have that fact right? I'm making sure I had that fact right. I forgot that I could also pronounce it wrong. She wins her match against Yilemi No, which was match seven. Yilemi was absolutely incredible in both her four ball matches, but just did not have her stuff. I believe she was around plus two. Vermeer has only shot about even.

It was not the best match out there, but all you got to do is beat your opponent. Uly's got some putting issues, I think, that have been well documented and missed a short putt on four to take a lead. It was kind of a pillow fight, but she ends up winning that one. Three and two gets her great moment there on 16 as well. And all of a sudden, it's 1310 Europe and it's really, really, really not looking good. And you've got these two rookies in a row. You got the question mark in Kurtz Madsen. And then you've got Nastassia, Julia, and Lottie all in a row.

The three rookies right in a row against. Well, and Mimi. Yeah, but well, yeah, and then, but right against like the meat of the order in Allison, Andrea, Yulimi, Austin Kim. And it was just, you're not counting on getting no points out of that group. Yeah. Well, that's the thing is that, I mean, we could sit here and dice it up and I know both captains, both teams are going to do it. But the fact that they decided to send out their four rookies back to back to back to back and like have the faith to put them in the, in the heart of this order. they didn't try to hide any of them.

I think it speaks an awful lot to the faith that, that Anne had in her team. And she mentioned in the post round, it's like, you know, I think over time, us being here for three days now, we got to know this golf course. We got to know how firm. These greens are usually pretty firm. You have to hit the ball high here.

And she used her captain's picks to find people. Stanford shouted that out in her presser. So high. like that fit this golf course. It wasn't really about form or history, playing team events or anything else like that. That's what it was. And I think that came through when she needed it most.

Just for the record, she had rookies in four or five. So it went, me, me, then Kurtz Madsen's not a rookie. Then Nadeau, Ramirez, and Wode were in order there. But yeah, it was, it was loud there on 16 for Hulia. So looking bleak on the U.S.'s side at this point, and Lottie Wode had a massive lead over Austin Kim in match eight. She absolutely hammered. She had her four up at one point,

but Austin Kim started making a run. There was that five minute stretch that there always is at every single session where like everything goes the team's direction that's behind and you start to convince yourself something might happen. Austin getting it back to one down. 30, 13 and 14, 14. It was awesome. But Wode bounced back, birdied 16 to get back to the two-up and guarantee at least a half.

She goes on to have the 17th hole, which is the point that guaranteed the clinch because at this point, Carlotta Seganda was Dormi in her match. Or how do you say it, had Kepcho Dormi or was Dormi? Whatever. She was Dormey. The leader is Dormy. They had the half point guaranteed there. That meant Lottie Wode's point was the clincher.

for Europe. No birdies on the front nine for Austin Kim in the route to getting four down. But did, did, uh, they gave a late charge, had the hand to the ear. Yeah, I was right there on 14. She rolled in. I mean, really good, good approach and then great putt just buried it right in the center. And then yeah, gave gave the big, uh, you know, hand to the ear. And Megan Kang was standing right behind that green as were a few of the other U.S. players. And, yeah, like that was like, oh, okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. And then... Because we just seen some miraculous stuff happen Saturday.

And having a little fresher in your head was like, this could happen, this momentum could happen. The U.S. has done well on the back nine. It didn't last very long, but there was that moment that it looked like things... We did get that moment. Yeah, things could possibly. We will always have that moment. So that had decided the Solheim Cup, what was still out there, match nine, Lauren Coglin against Leona McGuire.

Can I ask a question real quick? That decided the Solheim Cup. Cup, right? But that only got team Lottie's point got Team Europe to 14 points. They needed 14 and a half points. Right, but Carlotta was dormi. So it was guaranteed a half. Correct. But my thing is that

all the team was out there with Lottie, like fully knowing that's where it's at. But like Carlotta was battling, just beating it, beating it, beating it down. And like, by the time it got done, she had all the fans and everything that's great like amphitheater that we're in right now. But like hardly any of her teammates. It was all with Lottie.

Yeah. you know how she could have gotten there. You could have had the moment to win the- She could have. Got there a little faster. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, there you go. She had the put on 15. She had a put on 15 to win to clinch it as well.

Also, it seems like Europe cares about this stuff way more than anyone else does who gets the clinching point. But, you're going to throw some shade at the year. Yeah, I got to get a little bit. I mean, who cares? They want. There's a team effort. I thought it was all about the team.

all of a sudden. One time Europe is not about the team when it's about claiming who got the clenching point. LC, again, we're going to go through everyone's record, but LC continued to just absolutely stunt. She beats Leona McGuire two and one.

Which doesn't capture how, like, not close that match was. She played great. Leona was, you know, very, she had the,

she was getting up and down. Like, she did not hit it well. I think she was 50 yards behind Lauren on, on the first hole. And it kind of kept up the whole. day, but give her credit for sticking in it.

Like she, that should have been probably a five and four match if, if she doesn't make some puts. Yeah. As, as mentioned, the highly anticipated match between Jennifer Cupcho and Carlotta Saganda, I mean, Saganda just, Segonda just came out absolutely firing. Cupchao did not look good early on. I think Saganda birdied what, she birdied two, she birdied three, she birdied four, five, and five, she birdied four holes in a row to go.

four up through five and then it was night night and birded seven and if you if you I'm gonna I'm gonna read the quotes again because they were uh absolute highlight you know uh she said I was really happy to see that I was playing in the cup show she's a fighter I'm a fighter and I told her look great playing I mean even yesterday what she did on it was amazing on 17 and 18 but today I knew she had no chance I was like I want to kill you like that seems like one of those quotes is going to be in the big block letters in the team room like the next go around for both teams yeah it Do you have anything you like to say to Colorado? I respect your game.

I've always respected your game. I respect everything you bring to this event. I respect your career. I hate the way you go about it. I think it is borderline on sportsmanlike to play as slow as you do. But I have a ton of respect for you, and it's even more when you're going to come in and say something like that. I think if I was to give a critique of how the competitive side of this event shakes out,

it's a little friendly, like a little too friendly, like a little bit of, I don't want to say it this way, but I don't know how other way to phrase it. Like I'd like to see, like, feel more disappointment from the U.S. side. I like to feel more consequence. And it feels like Carlotta is like one of the few people out of the 24 that plays in it that treats it like essentially life or death in terms of their golf career. And I respect the shit out of that. And like is the only one that says things in the press conference that are not like, what you were supposed to say. Boiler play.

I'm going to kill you. You have no chance I'm going to kill you. I have a lot of respect for that. Is there something that this? That's fair? Yeah. No, it's totally fair. Is there something that the Spaniards teach

with regard to putting your your hand or like your grip up against your glove? Because her like Sergio used to do that. Like the just that whole, you know, re-gripping. Yeah, I don't know. Like that. Carlota might be the new savvy. she's got the spirit of

that pushing the rules a little bit. The great woman, Carlota. I think that's gamesmanship. Well, I think that's all part of it, right? I think the slow play thing is, it would be one thing if it was just like specific to the Solheim Cup, but that's just how Carlota plays golf. So you're like, oh, okay, it's not really like gamesmanship.

It's not even malicious. That's how she is. And, you know, to her defense, she's talked about like, I know I need to get faster. Does that mean that she's actually getting faster? No. No. Like, but she knows,

Like, she'll do it when people start finding her or stroking her. And that's something that the LPGA tour is trying to take on. But for this event, I think it's something with the Spaniards. And we joke about it all the time. Like, she grew up watching Sevi. She knows exactly what it is. She grew up watching, you know, Sergio and Jose Maria. And like, all these guys go out there and just like, this is their moment.

she got a round of applause from the media center. Yeah, I think it's one of those things. Everybody here plays on, they're all playing on the same tour. They all travel together. They're all friends. Like, the rivalry is, is, is kind of stoked one time every two years. Even the international crown you can't.

You'll never have moments like this. And I wish there was more. But I think in order to do that, you'd have to figure out, you know, make a stronger Ladies European tour with individual events and have an opportunity for more people that aren't, you know, LET players that aren't also LPGA players

getting onto these teams, qualifying onto these teams. My point overall is like that whatever I'm describing, Carlotta's got it in terms of like the fire for it. And like I love, like I love beating the Americans. How old is Carlota now? And I think I think Mel has it too. Oh, Mel is it.

Yeah, Mel Reed who's assisted captain, but like kind of embodies that. Yes. Spirit as well. Carlota's 36. She got another soul hymen or anything? I think she's got at least one more in her. I think so.

for the United States team. I don't think you can have your moment. You can celebrate your moment. Maybe we probably didn't need the social media aspect of celebrating that moment yesterday because that was Bolton board material for them today. And that was the first thing that, you know, the European team talked about.

We were like, yeah, and guess what? We won the cup and now we get our two cases of beer. We weren't celebrating on Saturday night because that's why we were all excited. No, the job wasn't. done yet. Now we can go do it with our shit. Mel did say too, like the team bus, that's a sacred space for us. We don't have any

social media out there. Which also like, yeah, so like the caddies and stuff were drinking yesterday afternoon. I'm that totally above board if you ask me like that's part of the fun of the environment. They brought the cases. I don't think like the players. There wasn't anything. There wasn't anything. Celebrating last night like they won the cup.

I think it. I don't think that matters. I think it's the perception. I agree. I agree. But I think I don't, you know, there was some, some some things floating out there like they shouldn't have celebrated last I think they were celebrating the momentum. Sure. I think that's totally fine. I don't think it's like the beers on the bus was a bad idea.

I think it did like portraying that and putting that out socially, which might go, you know, it might be an LPGA thing. It probably didn't help, but I don't think it was an overall deciding factor. So that made at 1511, Sagana's point. It was all over by then. Lindy Duncan, her match against Maya Stark. Lindy won that one three and one. Props to Lindy.

Props to Lindy. And look, you can brush that off as that match didn't matter. And that's Wikipedia a match. Like, no, she had the red on the board for the majority of the day when they needed it. That was a match I was particularly worried about from the U.S. side. She won that one three and one. She was very impressive throughout. I mean, she got, she was four up through 10.

Like at a time, like, US just needed to be like, all right, there's one match I do not have to worry about. She shot around minus five today. And I think, you know, it was a questionable captain's pitch. She goes two and one, I think puts those questions to rest. And, you know, we'll, yeah, we'll get into some grades here as well. Final match, Rose Zhang against Celine Bootye. I'm so, we're standing on 16 fairway. So just we saw almost none of this match on TV.

Yeah. It's all tied. They tied every single hole in the front night until Celine birdie, Eagle 10. Rose tied it back with the birdie on 11. And they stayed relatively neutral. I don't have it right in front of me. They were tied through 15. And then yeah,

and then so we're, Cody and I are standing on on 16 Fairway. Carlota just just won her match. Celebrations going on. And Celine looks over at Mel. It was Mel, right? Cody. No, it was a headwall.

Headwall. He looks over at headwall and she's like, do I have to keep playing? Like I just like, no, she goes, do I have to finish? Yeah. She's like, I don't want to finish. Like this is, I don't want to hit any more shots. We already won.

Why do I finish? And like, yeah, you have to finish your math. You gotta play through the whistle. By the way. Meanwhile, Rose is like tenacious and trying to get it. Rose is going on my Wikipedia. Yeah, she's fucking eagle that all. It's like, okay, eagle.

The next one par, and then birdied 18 to, you know, or yeah, burnish finish two up. It was, it was nuts. I don't know what Saline is. I know we're going to get to grades. That's where you start at, I think, grades-wise. grades-wise. It just is not good.

And this is the second or third cup that we've seen for Celine where it's just a bad performance all around. Last two European Solheim Cups, she's 0-and-7. She was 0-3 in Spain. She did go 2 and 2 in Virginia in 2024. But yeah, 2020-3 in Spain.

She was 0-3 and then she was 0-4 this week. And she's not exactly like a bundle of energy. You're easy to pair with others. So we don't know. Yeah. I want to give somebody the benefit of the doubt, right? Like, oh, we don't know what they're like in the team room. We don't know how it is, you know, with the other players. But I'll say this, when she's playing with a partner

and when she's playing alone, it looks like she's having a miserable time. Zero fun. Which is hard when you're not scoring any points. I'd at least be an energy person. Whereas Leona, like, doesn't look like she's having fun, but she looks like she wants to kill somebody. And that's delightful. So that's it. 15 to 13, Europe. They win the Solheim Cup back. They win yet another. It's been since 2015 since the U.S. has won a single session, which is

very, very, very tough. Some, you mentioned just some interesting kind of quotes from the pressers afterwards on the U.S. sides. They went first. You mentioned Stanford just saying she wanted to get some of her top players some rest. Did give us the line that you just insert.

I think it comes with a U.S. captaincy when you start a presser. You just have to say Europe made more putts. They played great. Check the bingo. I think the stats would probably support that. She made an implication in one of her quotes that, you know, let me see if I can get this exactly right. About the greens being different than what they were expecting

or saying something. She didn't want to say it. She didn't want to go right up to it. She said, I don't think we played bad. I think we just didn't make enough putts. If you listen to everything I've said, Europe always putt better. I don't know why. I still don't know why.

I mean, I have a good idea, but I'm not going to say it right now. Apparently, I didn't get to know the superintendent as well as I should have. I think they played really well, and you have to compliment them, and we gave it our best shot. I was not going to let that one go. I said, reading between the lines of what you just said were green speeds different than what your team was expecting coming into this week. And she said, yes, for sure. Even when we showed up in July here, they were faster. And I don't think it had anything to do with the rain either.

Now, saying that, it's my responsibility to get the team ready. this is the one thing I'm kicking myself is that I just didn't keep pushing. We've got to figure out how to hit our putts a little harder, which is really difficult to change the way you put. So I'm a little frustrated with myself that I didn't drive that point home. But I mean, there's nothing we could do about that. And the team knew that.

I mean, nobody complained about it at all. It's me saying this right now that I wish I would have maybe hammered it home more. Like they're going to be slow. They're going to be slow. They're going to be slow. But we don't play on greens as slow usually. So, yeah. It's funny because right before that,

she was talking about how important it was to hit the ball high and how lynxy it was out here and how firm it was out here. And then, yeah, the slowness, I could understand that more if it was super soft. But they weren't soft. They were just a little slower. And it's, you know, I know it was a, it's mids, you know, and then, and then Captain Norquist was asked the same question. By your budding young journalist as well. So let me see if I can get the exact quote here as well. You know, I asked, I said, you know, Captain Samper was in here earlier and mentioned that she thought the green speeds were slower than what they were expecting coming into the event.

I asked if that was a strategy element if they had a say in those green speeds. She asked, who said that? I said, well, Angela did. It's okay. We're in Europe and in September. I know we know how the weather can be. I know how hard Neil and the course staff. I've never seen a golf club in Europe in the world have such a large staff as he has.

even having feminine members of it. We worked really hard. I always said going into this week, we would try to showcase women's golf. I'm not sure I believe a lot in setting it up a way to fit Europe because these girls play the same golf courses weekend and week out competing. So going in, we came here in July,

as we know, it was a very hot and dry summer. So the course played a little different then. And then we almost, we were just trying to make sure that the greens didn't get too firm at that time because there were some holes in the wind that it was hard to hold. So if anything, it was just trying to manage the firmness.

But then obviously it's been raining a lot in the past couple, weeks. Then this week we saw a lot of rain. So if anything, they were probably just playing a little bit softer than what we had thought coming here. That's obviously the weather. We can't control that. It's such an amazing course, such an amazing venue. I was really cool to see the way we started, started on the normal third halt. She goes to the routing, blah, blah, blah from there. So I think there was a way of Angela saying this that would have sound whining. And I did not think she was. Oh, she took ownership. She took ownership of like the Greens were what they were.

She could have blamed it on them, not not being provided carts during the during the scouting trip, which she talked about on our podcast. Yeah, she made a joke about that. I totally hear exactly what Angela was saying. I think Anna gave a pretty fair answer there as well of, yeah, the Greens were a little bit slower, but that Europe had the team of Europe had nothing to do with that. But it was a theme talking to the caddies, talking to the players. They just struggled with the pace of the Greens.

I don't have a lot of sympathy for that of several days into the competition, did not have figured that out and to have had practice rounds to have. had been here for a week figured out there was a lot of puts that they had to make that they did not get to the hole and there was no there's no excuse for that like you had you yeah it is different but like that's what everybody was playing on it's also no i don't think angel was applying foul play but just to be clear like there was no gamesmanship with any of that it's also fine fescue it's a pretty different surface than what they play week in week out on the l pga tour yeah so um yeah yeah yeah You know, she, other comments, she kind of, you know, kind of made the point to Angel, you know, kind of didn't throw Angel under the bus. Friendly Roman asked her about, you know, what, you know, what the situation coming at the Angel and mentioned that she had gotten the half point, didn't mention that it was all you'll leave me know that it was responsible for that half point.

But also had interesting mention that they didn't, something that she felt hurt them. They didn't have strokes gained data access during the week. They had it in Spain. They had the resources to be able to track how players were playing on. a shot-by-shot basis in Spain and didn't have it this week. And that was something that she wished her stats team would have had access to. Yeah, she was very complimentary of Justin Ray and his efforts and everything. I mean, I think the fact that it was 8-8 going into the final day says it all.

It's like at some point it's on the players, right? Yeah. I did dig on that one too. She said we were missing some pieces like that in the week of Spain. And I was hoping she'd give us some strategy things. But she said, I told it, she told Justin Ray this because I know he's working with Jim in the Ryder Cup. I told him exactly what he needed to do for Jim. He thinks it matters.

Thinks those things matter. Justin was a huge help. He got us the point. She kind of smiled when I was like any particular, I asked any particular reason you didn't have that resource. And she said, yeah, we just didn't. So that's why I couldn't be honest with you. So he throwing his former employer under the bus. I did not throw my former employer under the bus.

Can I say something? this is a second time. We've said a lot of a couple of shows about I think we're lucky that the team got to 8-8 yesterday. The American team is according to rankings, stroke days, stroke gains data, everything. They are a much stronger team than the European team. They outrank this European team.

Across the board. At every level. Their strokes gain data is better. than the European team at every level. There's no reason why this is the result that we have. There's no reason why we should be happy that we got to a tie after each day. Something is wrong here.

We are missing something. Some dogs. I don't have the data right in front of me, but when I went through it earlier, I remember going through it on the U.S. side and just being like, I think we talked about this in the preview. I don't know who the second best player is here, guys. I don't know how much is that being weighed by Nelly

being far and away the best player. Well, we said Lauren's, yeah, we said Lauren's. Because you get down, like, you got down to like the bottom of the roster, and they have like 95th ranked strokes team player on the team. We have no midfield anymore. Yeah, it's, it gets weak pretty quickly. And the odds going into this week were dead even on U.S. versus Europe. So, and I get that that would say on paper, like the U.S. team is slightly better,

and Europe has a home field advantage that's offsetting it from a, from a bookmaking perspective. But it felt evenly matched. It just felt like, I don't know, just in fact, the U.S. had enough people step up, like in the early, you know what I mean? Like I felt lucky to get to 8-8 based on how they played is how, is how I felt. It didn't feel like from the beginning of the week to that point.

I guess, I don't know. Again, that's kind of why I predicted Europe to win today. It's just like it just felt like that was the best they could have been. Yeah. Through two days. And it just felt like Europe was going to outlast. It felt like a, it's like a transition year for the U.S. side, right? Like, no, the first one without Lexi.

you've got likely asteris Talley Keara Romero you know likely a few other young ladies coming up I think the European side you're going to have a Jenny Bay who should have been here you're going to have a couple more Spaniards probably on the team next time between Carolina Shakara

and and you know so I think there's going to be a lot of new blood in the next in then at Valhalla and then especially you know in in 28 or what was that 30 wherever we are back here in Europe but like it's going to look radically different

versus I think it's been mostly the same the same core for the last eight 10 years and that's where you know Megan Kang pick was like it's based solely on her Solheim record definitely not on her play coming in and part of the deal was just like

there was not that player beaten down the door that was like very clearly way better than her that should take the spot I think they were kind of scraped in the bottom of the barrel with some of the picks. And Lindy stepped up and you're hoping Megan steps up and wins that match today and you look like a genius. And it just did not happen that way.

But I, I, this is, I did not feel going into this one that the U.S. was like a decidedly more talented team. I think the U.S. also probably has to be kicking itself. I think you'd want four captains picks, not three. Europe had, had four. And I think that's, you know, it was the last goal. We always say that. Oh, yeah.

I want more, you want more, I mean, I think you should have six. If you have six, let's see, who ended up points, right? If you have, Angel was, oh gosh, Angel was second in points? Yes. Holy crap. Yeah. That's a problem. And you're probably still picking Allison, but just having more flexibility.

Yeah, Allison was last to qualify. We'll do like a look back on this and what they can change for the process. Because I agree, like, looking at Angel, they're, the way that the point system currently works for Team USA is kind of finicky. You get a ton of points way early on, too. It's like the waiting needs to change for a little bit more, more recency. But this is the first time and the reason why I bring it up and this is going to open it to a bigger conversation that we can have later. But like, this is not the match.

I love the Soulheim Cup. I love this. This is not what is, this is not what we have anymore. This competition is not reflective of the best players in the women's game anymore. We have to, we must, tours, sponsors, people who care about this must find a way to have a match with the rest of the world. Not the international crown. I know it's not going to. It is not going to be a PJ tour co-sanctioned President's Cup thing.

That's not going to happen. It's not in the cards. We have to figure this. out because we're going to end up with, yes, this was competitive, right? This is a competitive cup. But like when you're not playing against the best players in the world anymore, what is the excitement? You know, it loses a little bit of the lustre.

I think it's, you just need the other thing too. Like, I think it's, you could make the same argument with the European team and some of these rider cups as well. I'm not even saying, by the way, I'm not even saying this that it's like Team USA versus internationals. Yeah. I'm saying like, let's the rest of the world versus Asia.

Let's make this count for something. And if you want to make it like a more of a revenue generator, well, the ladies European tour won the Solheim Cup. So they get the opportunity to compete against the international team and they get half of that proceeds. If you remember this, this was brought up several years ago,

no, no, he was caught on the hot mic being like, I don't, I don't really want to go get my ass kicked by the Asian player. At the US woman's open. That's great for her. But I mean,

I mean, I think there's an easy through line of the Ryder Cup comparison. Obviously, this is what this event was modeled after, U.S. versus Europe. It just makes it easier to pick up. I kind of, to me, it doesn't matter to me that it's not the best players in the world. I think there is a competition with a lot of equity in the bank that people have memories of. And I like watching these two teams go at it. Well, why can't I have, why can't I bring up that idea and being like, yeah, we can't have both? totally can't we dream and have both and not have it be a negative to the solheim cup

not with the case that i'm going to make later on which is by the solhump up every year we can't i mean that's that's the stinky part about it is that like we're always told well you can't have that because you already have this thing over here i'm like well why can't we have both it seems that like we have new events popping up all over the all over the place sure we can figure out something i mean they have again they have the international crown there. It's just not serving its purpose. No. I guess I just don't know what the hook is, even if it's so it's like all

of the West versus all of the East. I think the East is still like Dominating. Well, and then where do you put Australia? West versus East. They're technically East. Yeah. It's yeah, I mean, I think just generally speaking, the LETs

in an interesting position over the next couple of years as well. Like the PIF funds a lot, like bankrolls a lot of their their finances, who knows what's happening with that, moving forward with both the international series and the Saudi ladies, all that stuff. I know there were rumors or like legitimate conversations

being had three, four years ago with regard to LPGA and Ladies European Tour merging. That didn't get across the finish line for a variety of reasons. But, yeah, like, yeah, like I think we could see globally, the ladies' game evolved and change a lot over the next half decade. Yeah, I think it's just, it's hard to lead. Like this event, we've been to a lot of women's golf events. Like, there's no environment like this.

Like, it's just, it's so cream of the crop. And that's where, again, my case was going to be, women's golf careers are shorter in general than men's golf careers. And there's not the event you're describing in the off years, like the reason, a reason, like the writer cups, I'm a big. play the Ryder Cup every year guy. A big reason for that is it's too big of an event. Like there's just too much around it.

Like the planning and organizations is difficult. And this event is big, but it does not feel too big to do every year. And I think it would be, it's a great opportunity to keep the storylines, keep the through lines, keep the rivalry, keep the memories fresh. Like I just like the,

they went and I feel strongly about this on the women's side because they did it back to back in 23 and 24. And I just remember all like everything just that much sharper. Like I just, it felt fresh and it felt like I could not wait, you know, to get to that event. And it just, it, you know, the momentum dies back down and then coming back up, like I, it felt like I had to get caught back up to get back into Solheim Cup mode this year. We don't even know where the next one's going to be on this side of the pond. And that's, that's kind of crazy, right? In four years. And four years feels so far, so far away. Whereas if you had it announced for 2028 and that and they were here today and could figure out best practice. and say, hey, we loved this. We didn't like this. This was like, you know, just keep that momentum going, like you said. The other one I would do, and I'd make the same case honestly for the Ryder Cup, but I think that the Solheim Cup can do more to differentiate itself from like the Rider Cup format.

And I would say, especially for European ones, an opportunity to grow the product, grow the interest in this. Half of, I don't know, half of the audience of this event is in the U.S., I would say. I would do what the President's Cup does. You take day one, the Friday, and you separate it into two days. You play foursums on Thursday or four ball on Friday, and you play it in the afternoon here. So people, a lot of the great foursomes matches, all the fours matches happen in the middle of the night in the U.S. And it's almost unwatchable for U.S. people. Break it to two days, extra ticket gate revenue for the tournament day.

There's so many practice round days. And I know it shrinks the gala and all the opening ceremonies and all that. I'm fine with that for an extra tournament day. If it's really going to play it every two years and it's only three days, I just think that's too much jammed into a tight period of time. There's strategy that comes with how you rest your players, how you start them. But I think the LPGA and Ladies European Tour could be a leader in changing that part of it.

I think that has been successful in the President's Cup front. And I know as somebody that wants to see this event and women's golf grow in the U.S., more opportunities to view it actually on television would be a pretty important one. I will give them credit this year for this was the most cohesive set of broadcast windows. Like it was on Golf Channel the whole way and they went whole way wire to wire and they kicked Irish Open over to CNBC. So praise progress on that front. Yes, there's still ways to go. I understand.

I saw we were filming early in the week, but I saw just quarter like. asking where the opening ceremonies, you know, announcing of, you know, the first matches, I think that was all streaming, you know. So there are ways that you can still elevate it with the bumper coverage. But overall, you're getting the golf when the golf is on, which I think is a great thing. I will say, we watch zero coverage. So there's not going to be a Hamster damn section. I haven't heard really anything.

I don't know if you guys have. We heard a lot from our friends in the UK who got a heavy dose of, Morgan Pressel and the U.S. broadcast team. And they were like, oh, okay, we get it. Like this is why you guys have been fighting over on your side. So because you know, similar thing like when they, when the Australians get our feed or whatever, they're like, oh, okay, we get the commercial load stuff now. Right. So it's funny.

When we get everybody else's feed, we're like, oh my goodness. This is amazing. Like I love it. It sounds so different and cool. I did watch a lot on TV today just in the media center. and there were some interruptions, but I got to watch a non. I didn't get up,

I go to the bathroom for like three hours. Like I got back to just take a rest from the rain, and I was like, guys, I'm staying in here. Like, this is awesome just to watch all the moving around from there. But I'll say to both of you guys this week, it's been absolutely stunting in your greens. She won yesterday, but at what cost? You cannot replace a Carlota Saganda, just like you cannot replace a Gary Bertier. That's exactly right. So you're giving her?

I'm giving her an A minus. I will go A minus as well. Some of the golf away from the big moment. was like less than perfect. So to prevent the great inflation, I'm not going to go full A on there. But did what she had to do. Yeah, well, I agree that one and one is selling her a little bit short.

There'll be a fair amount of that as we go through these. But Lynn Grant goes 4 and O. They were the two leaders of this team this week from a emotional and energy standpoint. I think Carlota was like the steady heartbeat, and they were the adrenaline and the joy. I will go A for Lynn. What else would she need? She need to go 5-0 for an A-plus.

I was a stronger player in the team play, and Lynn was not great today. Just drew a great, great draw with Angel. And I think a lot, if I put her match, her golf today up against a lot of players on the U.S. she very well could have lost. That's all preventing you from an A plus. That is nitpicking from that.

It was not A plus golf. It was A golf. It's a very, it's a very, it's a friendly great. Cody? Yeah, it's an A for me. I loved it. I loved every minute of it. I love Lynn in this environment.

Her and Maya have such a great thing going together. She's a competitor. The number one thing they hate is losing. I love seeing it. But man, it feels like every time we have a Solheim Cup and we're talking about Lynn Grant, it feels like we're, you know, in the States, we have these national conventions for, you know, politicians.

And I get real fired up about this speech and hope and change and everything. Like, Lynn, you got to come through a little bit on me, man. Like, you got to do something in your normal week-to-week LPA tour career because we want this Lynn all the time. This is what we thought we were signing up for. You got to do something. It's crazy. She's 61st in the world.

She's made less than half of her cuts this year on the LP. GA tour, only two top tens. It's, it's truly maddening. But an example of like just the team stuff that makes it super fun, right? Of a truly jelled in multiple different formats and just clearly had a ton of fun and stepped up when they needed to. So Esther Hinslet went two and one. She won both of her matches in team and then lost a singles match after being four up

at one point today. What's your grade for Esther? Esther's a tricky one. What do you think, Cody? She's getting a B. I think she's getting a B for me as well. Solly was knocking some of the pace of play stuff. I saw some of that.

It was one bad incident. It was not habitual, bad intentions like Carlotta. No, no, I don't think that's it. Esther's awesome. Oh, yeah, yeah. Esther's like really, really good. The issue is Esther makes like buckets of birdies and all of a sudden she like makes a turn and get to the tent hole.

And she's like, oh my goodness, I forgot how to put. She runs out of gas. You just watch this like, oh, my man, this car crash is coming. And it happens to her individual stroke play events. It definitely happened to her today. The reason why, you know, I thought about giving her like a B minus, but I'm refusing to give minus or pluses. Everything's just going to be straight across the board today.

She's getting a solid B. How do you get to be four up and lose one down? You know? And I understand major props to Allison Lee for playing fucking awesome. but you got to find something. I think the fact that you've given her a B that speaks to her body of work this week overall. She got some nice draws overall

and was heavily up earlier because Allison was especially struggling. It wasn't like she played incredible. So I'll go B as well. I think she's a very, very nice Solheim Cup. Did her job, went two and one. Charlie Hull. I want you to lead this off.

One, three, and one. I am going to give Charlie A, B minus for this week. Okay. She record looks worse than it is and we're going to hit to Lottie and I'm going to fight very hard on that one. She played five matches. Went five matches, got it done in a lead match. She was not the stronger player between her and Lottie and a lot of the team golf.

And I didn't get to see Saturday morning forcements, which I know didn't go well. But her and Lottie drew mathematically like the worst possible spots they could have drawn. their four balls were excellent. I think they shot eight and nine under in those and lost both of those matches. And I know the record looks ugly, got it done out of lead match today, going all five and having to play,

like playing good golf and happening to get the top players on the USAID is not her fault. She did a lot of what she could do. So the B minus might even be light. But that is, we'll look back at one three and one and think she had a bad Solheim Cup when we checked the Wikipedia in two years.

and I want it on the record that I do not think she had a bad Solheim cup at all. I thought her partner was even stronger. I co-sign everything you said. I do wish they would have broken her and Lottie up just because I do want to see Lottie.

Yes, I want to see Lottie how she meshed as well up with someone else. Very difficult. Charlie, they're going to continue to have difficulties pairing Charlie with someone. I think that they're grooming

brewing Lottie to be that person. And I agree with you guys. It made so many birdies, and it's hard because you don't really know who you're going to go up against. But, you know, I think there's other intangible things that Charlie you want her to bring

to this competition that she never is going to. She's not going to be the leader of this team. She's going to be there. She's going to be present, but, like, she's not going to be the raw, raw, motivational one. You know, you're expecting her to come here and do her job and get her points.

Yeah. That's like a class participation part that, you know, it's great if you do that, but you're not getting points and you're great for that, I think. For that, I'll give her a C. She's the second highest ranked player in this field. I kind of expect more, but again, you can't control the draw all the time. Yeah. Nana Kurtz Madsen, we can move a little faster through some of these, Nana Kurtz Madsen 1 and 2, but got it done in her singles match today after resting all day Saturday.

C plus. go C. Big massive point upsetting Allison Corpus. It was bad early but was with Celine as well. I think that one. That one works. Julia Lopez Ramirez won O and one. She passed

the class. She did what she was asked of. Won her singles match. Again, it wasn't necessarily a pretty match. I will say, I'll give her a B. Yeah, I'll go right along with you. B. I'm not even grading her. She passes. She moves along to the next Holheim. She gets a P.

Okay. Leona McGuire, two and two. Leona's so tough to grade because she's, like she's greater than the sum of her parts. She's, she's a, she's a really useful tool in the toolbox

for the European team. She certainly has limitations as far. Like, I think the weather certainly both helped her with regard to, she's definitely a mutter, but also hurt her with regard to, like, it was softer out there. And you're not getting the rollout. She kind of relies upon.

the ground game a lot. I would give Leona a B. She's just, she's rock solid and does what she needs to do. And I think she's, she's such a great player. She's such a good tool and toolbox for those foursomes matches.

I'm giving her a C. Just didn't really fear her this week. I kind of got to go with my gut when I saw her against L.C. I'm like, I think L.C.'s winning that one. Yeah. She paired up with Esther and, and to beat Andrea Lee and Lindy Duncan, who weren't very good in Friday, foursums.

She beat Jennifer Cupcho and Rose Zang in Saturday morning foursums. Those were the two wins she had in four ball. She lost pretty badly with Nastassia yesterday afternoon against Rose Zang and Austin Kim. Just two and two got, did what she needed to do, but it was not like the, I fear you, Leon, version of the other.

That's fair. That's fair. No, but I'm pretty confident in saying that I'm with you, Sallia C, that this is going to be her last Solheim Cup as a player. It could be. With the talent that we see coming up, it is more and more evident that she is the best player in the world from where she has to play golf from. Yeah. And that is such a disadvantage compared to her peers now. And it'll be a big ass disadvantage at Valhalla.

One other thing, just going back to some of the captaincy stuff, another thing that came up a lot in the press conference tonight from the European.

inside was transparency. They said that word, I think three or four of them must have mentioned that word. And I thought it was really interesting of like it hints at something, you know, maybe from last go around or from Spain with, with Patterson, where I, like, I think they would all tell you like that. She don't think she was the most transparent captain. So it seemed like that was a big priority for this team was, hey, let's, let's feel like we have more buy in and feel like you have more trust in us as players.

We're kind of, I would give her a B. Again, she played, she played a role in playing with Charlie. She teed it up four, or sorry, five times,

And just generally speaking, it seems like she's, you know, like this is the worst Solheim cup I think we'll see from Lottie ever. And she acquitted herself well. I'm going to give her a B plus. I thought she was excellent. Um, I know the foursum's matches didn't go great. I just won three and one record is the one that ran a little, I ran my little analysis like, you know, I'm going to. Her performance was the one that stuck out the most in terms of what she contributed specifically to four ball, what she went up against in four ball,

just truly being about as unlucky as you can get. I had no problem with them going out as much as they did. You can't do much about who you get paired up against. She went out and got it done in singles. She's a player to be feared. She's an excellent, excellent, excellent player. I thought she had a great, played great golf. I know the foursoms did not go great.

That is what she's getting dinged for. but I will ride for this one as another symbol to Charlie of like her record did her play did not get reflected in her record and I'm glad she got that point on the board and the clinching moment because she had a good Solheim cup. She gets to be. I agree with everything that you guys said. She is in a very tough position. Thankful to have this rookie Solheim cub behind her because at no point dime is she treated or have the expectations of a rookie. People expect her to be such a. seasoned vet and everywhere she turns up, thinking that she has already been there and done that

just based off her record in the very short professional career so far, that Nova, I mean, Rose, you know, famously made that Spain team after being a professional golfer for like two and a half, three months. She was, Rose was afforded the, the availability to be, to truly be a rookie and make rookie mistakes. Lottie does not have that. And I think she, she did everything that was asked of her. I think you'll like this comp. You've got to work with me here because it's not apples to apples.

But like Rose is or I'm sorry, Lottie like in this one is like the shortstop that like is going to give you a ton of war. Like the stat line isn't going to get into war. But you got to find somebody to hold down that position. Like it's going to go five matches and took some

really tough matchups and like he's going to wear it on the chin and like look the batting hitting stats don't look great. But like you can look at some of the rookie stats. Like you can look at some of the rookie stats. Like you can look at Nastassia and you can look at some of these rookies we talked about. Like they got to go play first base. They don't have to worry about defense.

And yeah, they're going to mash a little bit. I feel like you're just sub-tweeting Randy right now. A little bit, but like you've got to find somebody to play that role to go those five and to face those matchups and hold their own as well as they did. And the points didn't work out great. But like that could have gone very differently, I think. And that's kind of the comp I'd make there.

one of if not the best rider cup player of her generation. Solheim Cup player of her generation. And I cannot wait till the day that she's a captain. I think she'll be awesome at that too. Like she's just, she looks, she does everything subjectively and objectively in these, in these events to just like, it's what the event is all about. She embodies the spirit of it, I think.

I could not have ever predicted this level of success for her in this event as of several years ago. And I couldn't, how nervous I used to get watching her like try to make eight footers to like make cuts in majors like several years ago versus the confidence and the levity that she plays with in this event in particular when everything gets amplified a ton she looks like she's having the most fun of anyone she's smiling she's talking to us in between holes like and she's just feeding people's brains in and just is doing it with such a it's not an arrogance it's just confidence that is just awesome to watch so proud of you Lauren a a big stinking a you know if you'd have gone undefeated it would have been a plus did have the one and she played great in the

match they lost nothing she could do that. about the four ball aspect of that, but A for Lauren Cogwin. Yes. Congratulations. Lindy Duncan, two and one, B plus for me. One of the singles match that they desperately needed. You know, it wasn't great in the early, early go of it, but two and one is a captain's pick, controversial captain's pick.

She did not fail completely, but she didn't do anything beyond that. She was a captain's pick for a reason to show up and do a specific job. The issue is when your game no longer fits that person who accomplished those things in the past, there's something wrong. It doesn't mean anything negative about her.

She should be a part of every single team. I just don't know. Until she starts playing better golf, she's not a player. She can come. Come be an assistant captain. Come be support, whatever. It just, it just didn't happen. Yeah, the putter is just bad.

You giving her an F? Yeah, she gets an F. Yeah. The putter is extremely bad. I mean, we were warned, and it's worse than when we are warned. Austin Kim, one and three. Yeah. D.

D. Yeah. I don't have a lot. I didn't watch her play a lot of golf in person, but was not somebody that could be relied on for the U.S. team. Brought some energy. I was really stoked about Austin Kim after watching her on Friday, and it just didn't.

At times, it felt like the moment was not too big for her. She was just a little unprepared, and that just takes experience. And she's a hell of a player. I hope she'll be back on more teams, and she'll learn from this. and B-B-B-B. Love the swing. Nelly Corta, 2-1-1, B-minus. Or give her a B.

her but we know like when you're very good at individual golf that doesn't at all equate to any sort of team dimatid and i think they do a really good job of providing everything that she needs in order to perform her best and sometimes it just works out and sometimes it doesn't but that's what it is i think she she did she did what she needed to do jennifer cup show one and three god i don't know know how to do this one. I don't either. She gets a C. I was going to say C minus for me.

Yeah. I mean, you can't, you can never take away what happened yesterday afternoon. But that, that's it. I'm going to give you a passing. We're not, you know,

you're not getting a D and like, we're not on probation. He came to office hours. You did some extra work. Again, like it's, she stunk for the most bad. That's kind of what it is.

And she's a malcontent. Yeah. It, that's what made the, the conclusion of Saturday so surprising was just she didn't play well at all. And it kind of came out of nowhere. But it's just hard when the U.S. team has two women that were putting hands to ears and doing tons.

They went two and six combined. It just was overall did not help them. Easy one here. She failed the class. I'll give her a D because she failed the class. Like you don't pass with a D. Allison Lee, 4-0 and O. A-plus.

A-stinking plus. Congratulations to Allison. A treat to watch. was just extremely, extremely reliable. Back up against the wall today, four down. You know, has her kid here with her and just a lot, a lot going on. Is this the 10th player ever to go 4-0 and Owen Solheim Cup,

A Stinking Plus? She passed with, or she graduated with honors. Yes. Cody. I agree with everything. You mentioned thing from Tom talking about her working on the broadcast team in Vegas this year.

I talked to her at the end. of last year and was kind of like, what are you doing? She's like, I honestly I don't know, I'm worried about my game. This isn't really going good. I'm worried about, you know, keeping a card. Am I going to have to go back? You know, there was a time where she completely lost

LPGA tour status who was playing full time on the LET tour, you know, and then got a win there. And then that springboarded her into a little bit higher events and then finally came back around. She was seriously worried about it. And that the trial in Vegas was legitimately to be like, I'm retiring from playing. I want to be a full-time mom.

And let's try this broadcasting. And she was really good at it. But I think what it also reminded her of is like, you know, I'm like really good at golf still. And I really have a fun time doing it. Let's figure out how I can manage this whole thing. And just seeing her out here with her, like, she's a very active mom. Yeah. She's not just dropping, you know, him off and leaving or whatever. We're like, he's in the thick of it. It's awesome to see. Yeah. And I mean, gosh, the broomstick has been awesome for her.

And her swing just looks absolutely excellent. She knows exactly where the ball is going. And I hope it lasts because it looked as, as sustainable and good as it possibly could. Andrea Lee, one and three. D. I love Andrea. Extremely nice person. I think it was a D.

I think it was costly. She's so much better than her results have been the last year and a half. It's frustrating. Yeah. Agree. Yep. You'll leave me no. One, one and one.

Give her a... This is so hard. Like a B? She got like 110 out of 100 on the first two tests. Yeah. But she was like the most important matchout thing today. It really, that one really, really stung today. Oh, a B plus for me because it was, it was absolutely epic for the first two days.

and MVP of the entire U.S. team. I know she only played two matches, but nobody played better golf than she did for the first two days. And like the reason why Lottie and Charlie's records looked the way they did was because of of Yolimi's performance. So it's hard to knock her that hard on today. I'm just

very surprised at what we saw today based on how the first two days went. So I think B-plus and might be a little friendly because that single's loss is definitely going to sting. Cody? Yep, I agree with everything. Angel Yen 0-1-1. Angel didn't get a grade.

She got she got expelled. Yeah, Angel is, it's unfortunately getting an F. I was going to say just incomplete. She did not, she did not. She didn't complete the course. Exactly.

She didn't fill, you know, turn in all of her paperwork, everything like that. Hey, I think it, I don't know, I have a problem with incomplete

because like part of what I'm grading here is detrimental. Is that you, you had an opportunity to give up your spot and give your team a better chance. And that goes into the equation. That is your, that's why I expelled her, So it's on a permanent record.

You're asking something of somebody that no one would ever do that. No one would ever, ever do that. To be an automatic qualifier for something and to be outside of, to be cleared through doctors, through physical therapy, through everything that says, yes, you can go. You're asking somebody to say no and turn down something that, that, that, that, that, that, she dreams of doing because of that. That's such a massive sacrifice. I think it's unreasonable to hold that and say that's what she should do.

Now, she got to do better than this. That's kind of what I'm saying, though. Like, what is doing better? If she's helping and cleared, why is there an alternate here? Like that's the part that like, all right, this is bad enough that we have, if the, if the play is that bad, she's not going to go. like if we are bringing an alternate here, there are massive question marks that you're putting the captain in a really difficult

spot of how to use you. Like I don't think it is unreasonable to think a significant period of time off, have no quality starts leading up into it and not entertain the idea that, yes, I qualified based on a different golfer qualified for this than the one that's right in front of me right now. This is her fourth Solheim Cup too. It's not like she's some rookie that this is a fleeting thing.

This is her fourth Solheim Cup and she's 20 and she's only 27. And it is intro. You're right. I wonder if the decision, obviously it's a, somebody told her you have to play a tournament before Solheim. That's why she played FM. Can't just come back for only Solheim. Or sit it out and come back.

I can't even know what the next event is in two weeks, but probably Arkansas or something. It is a very, whatever the plan was. And I'm sure we'll never hear what those conversations were actually with her of what the agreement was. But I don't know, Saul, you know these teams a lot better than I do. Have you ever heard of the names in the envelope being exposed and warming up and like taking part in reps? Like you're in training camp. I think this happened.

I don't remember where. I think this happened on the men's side. And there's more to, there's, you know, off-record stuff as well as to what went down here that like we're not privy to share that also is going into this this grade of like not good it's not good it was not good and i think angel i handled it all with class um and i think it just would have been a lot cleaner if they were able to to bring someone else so i well maybe maybe it would be a little bit different if they already got brought any of the two who i really think were closest points or captain's picks, they brought Lily Vu who like, one likely would not have played better. No. And that's like, that's what part of the problem is. For sure. In this, you know, that's so when you're looking at the, the cards that you're dealt and trying to figure out what it is, okay, you want to take Angel or. Are you trying to win this thing? Are you trying to give a participation trophy?

For sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's got to do some better. I need to do some better sourcing of what I've heard about that situation before I report that. I know it's not fun to be the guy. Nobody likes to know something who doesn't say anything, but you got to be responsible in these situations and I don't feel good enough to report on how that happens. that she's supposed to be like a captain of one of our leading point getters when she finally got enough points to do it she kind of laid some eggs on events leading up to this and then she comes here and it's like you know it's one of those things I understand that Rose is the like silent assassin she doesn't like to show a ton of emotions

but she's going to have to start doing that doing something more showing up being more prepared more fiery getting people into it because she is a she's the motivator which is why i struggle a little bit with like pairing her up with cup joe yeah right yeah maybe we're unfairly blaming her they're not they're not like bringing out the best yes either yeah yeah i think it maybe you start is it it it's probably too kind to just say all right let's start 2027 with a fresh slate for Rose. Now college is completely in the rearview. You're going to be healthy, hopefully,

with kind of things that have been lingering. And like, we'll go from there. But yeah, we've come down a little bit from 12 major prediction. Neil had 15 major. Yeah, I don't know. The injuries are like a real thing. Like, you know, I know she didn't, you know, she didn't play Canada because specifically for that.

Yeah. And she knew that she had like, she was going to be a captain's pick. She was told that ahead of time. She didn't have to. The guardians are having a heck of a lot of blood. in front of us. It's still leaving the grounds here.

I'd give her a B plus. Like she won a home Solheim Cup by two points, like kind of held serve, I'd say. Did the job?

Well done. It didn't blow me away. it wasn't like that's the blueprint for captaincy necessarily we're working off like 0.1% of the information but that's kind of from where i'm sitting where what i see from her yeah that's that's all fair cody yeah great for anna hey i think she did a great job she's not the raw raw type but i'll say this is that i think she is one who has a best understanding of her strengths and her weaknesses she found vice captains that she has all the trust in the world and can fill in those gaps that she knows that she does not.

Mel Reed being the motivator, the let's go out and mess them up. Caroline Hedwell, who is like the drive and determination of look at me and is also like, you know, a sweetheart to everyone. And then Ann Van Dam, who like took her home event and was like trying to get them to understand the gravity and how big of a deal this is. they all know they come from a bunch of different countries and they dream of like this opportunity of being able to host it and they they lived through that with her. I think she did an awesome job and I hope after she thinks about it that she does it again because I think it would be really cool to

see her captain in the States because yes she's European but she's lived in the States for a long time. Very successful college player and based out Arizona. I think it would be cool to give another shot. Amen. Angela Stanford. I was actually impressed with Angela this week. I was too. I came in thinking, all right, this is going to be, you know, between the captain's picks and just not getting a lot on the front end.

And I think she was dealt a tough hand and handled it with grace and did everything she possibly could to get this team over the line. Yep. I give her a B. I thought it was. That's fair. I don't have a lot of critiquing of actual. moves she made, I would say get a stats guy as your

as your right hand man to help with a bunch of stuff. She had one of the best that you could ever imagine with Justin Ray managed difficult situations like you said. I think this is the part where we tear apart captain C's usually and I really don't have a ton to say. It does feel like it was a captain of a different generation

versus Anna is very much a bridge between this generation and the next. I'll say well, I'm going to say a B as well. She speaks so well. She had a plan. She stuck to her plan.

She had stats. J. Ray there. It sounds like I think a little bit of that, Elise, is comes down to a funding thing. Because, you know, Justin's going to provide everything that he possibly can.

But you got to have the bodies and the manpower and able to do that. I was. was more impressed because her as a player, she was a bulldog and was like very kind of stuck in her ways and this is the way it's going to be and didn't let a lot of people tell her, you know, anything different. And as a captain, she appeared very open and welcoming to suggestions from everything. And this Solheim Cup could have very easily gone the other way. And I'm going to say the exact same thing that I said about Anna is that I would love to see her come back. again. There is a difference in age, but I think there's easy ways to bridge that. And it appeared that from the players, like, there's little things, but I think they all bought into it, you know.

And where we're going is that we're going to have, we have a lot of U.S. captain candidates coming up. And they're all of that, you know, older generation now of high 30s to into their 40s. And that's led really by Morgan and then all, uh, Yeah, probably Paula. And I would say I haven't heard anything, but... And Brittany, too. Yeah, but it'll be very interesting because I think, you know, for Morgan's full-time job, I know she was excused from it to be a vice captain, but I think this would take a lot more

time of her traveling and playing or not playing, but talking and spending a lot more time with the players and not just up in the broadcast booth. I don't know if that's where she wants to be right now. So I don't know. But Paula, super impressed. She was awesome this week. Great hat, too. Big techs.

I just, you know, we've done several shows here this week. We had a Friday show, did a Saturday show, and we've spoken a lot. I just want to revisit and rehash for it. I know a lot of people listen to the Sunday show that Bernardus was an awesome venue. Awesome venue. The crowds were incredible. The energy was incredible.

Even with that we showed up this morning, it was raining. We were kind of like, ah, this is going to be tough. This could have been a great moment for the LPGA, ladies European tour and Solheim Cup, a great close Sunday. Everybody was here today.

The crowds were amazing even on this Sunday in the rain. It was so rainy. It was tough. It was very tough. And it was just a dream venue. I hope this place gets another Solheim Cup, honestly, sooner rather than later,

because I haven't been to many of these. And I meant to ask a question to some of the players that's where this ranks. I know they'll kind of get political. answers on that but this is up there and van dam spoke about it and the presser as well of just how cool it was to bring an event here and how you know great the golf federation's doing here and they they nailed it set up everything like it was i've listened to you guys on the podcast last couple of times talk about this not being the greatest experience going in person every single

thing that they got wrong in spain and at r tj both the leet and the l pga was it was this was pretty much a flaw this week it was it was incredible and dead bosh just been great. Where we stayed is live, you know, we're getting, it's almost 10 o'clock now. I don't know what we're going to do for dinner, but we've been able to find dinner post 10 p.m. each of last two nights. We're going to be in trouble tonight. We're going to be in trouble, I think, tonight is what's going a little long. I think the, yeah, the, like the, the course was presented beautifully. Nile Richardson, the superintendent and his staff, awesome work. It's Feskew. Kyle Phillips, like, shout out to him. Like, this place is, is tailor-made for a match play competition.

Again, we've talked about it every night. They talked about it in Post-Round Pressers. The decision to change the routing to fit a match-play tournament and the natural amputeaters that Kyle Phillips figured out how to route out here are so damn cool. And if you're looking for like what major championship venues and try to create that feeling that we never get at women's events because everything is too big of a scale,

and then you put Grand Scans out, and they're usually too small. And honestly, they don't get filled. It was full out here. You actually, it was two to three deep at points, and it felt major. It was awesome to actually see it. And there were just points of energy, like that 12, 14, 15 here on 16. Great pops.

The first T, die on the first, first T, did a pump-ups. It was great. I'll say this, Dye Stewart has more energy than anyone else that I've met in golf. I don't know how many jobs she has, but bouncing up and down, getting everybody fired up, using the DJ, everybody on the first tee every single morning, doing players' announcements

and then closing ceremonies. It's a lot. And I don't know how she keeps her voice as fresh as she does, but she crushed it. How was the Bon Me sandwich? Bombie was good. Explored a couple more food trucks. Food trucks, of course, all this stuff. It's because, you know,

I think they learned again their lesson in Spain. IMG. They've just they've crushed it at every single level. Michelle and Izzy are media contacts. They've done everything that we possibly could do to include be able to do shows here on site, which like

most people are like what are you doing? We know we're probably like the last people on site right now and they're waiting for us. It's just really cool and it feels great to be rewarded because we just want to showcase these awesome events and the awesome players.

I'll also give a shout out to the club for hosting the Junior Solheim Cup. I was talking to a couple people about that this week. And it's the first time they've had it on site at the event. And I think that's a big thing. And I would encourage that to happen at Valhalla and wherever they have. Like that's a, you've got asterisk tally here. Probably the next five Solheim cups. This is such a good experience for them.

And I think like the course doesn't get that much play this week. Like it's match play. There's only at max 12, 12 groups out there. And it's the first pro golf event I've been to in a while where I'm like, damn, I want to come play this course. Yeah, that's true. The heather, the tight surrounds, all of it. It's just, it's really, really hastily done.

So I do, I never do this. This is usually back, back of the scenes. You know, we have 13 minutes to finish this show. I'm trying. Or else we're going to lose internet. Yes. Okay. We are going to go quickly. Listen, we did not get to watch the Irish Open. Shane Lowry won by 11 shots. Props to him. P. Finish second. Look at a lot of freaking people out there at Dunebeg. You gave a great review. I haven't seen Dune Bag a second time through recently. Didn't get to watch any of it. Only clip I saw with Shane hooking one and saying somebody deserved to be hit. He was getting very roasted for that one. Deservedly, it sounds like I don't know what the context was of that one, but strike 18 on my guy Shane. I'm around 63, 65, 63 on the weekend. That's strong.

Great team. Second time he's winning his National Open. Jolly, keep your politics out of my sports. For sure. For sure. Yeah, P. P and Waco finished second. Rasmus Nehergarde Peterson, fourth. It's kind of a big, big week for the Danes overall.

Jacob Scull of Olison was seventh. Johnny Rombo. Any concerns there? Johnny Rombo finished. T-23 with Joel, don't call me Elvis Gerbach, David Law, David McAloosy,

things of that nature. It's not going great for my guy. He finished one behind former, former Cleek burned Viseberger. All right, we're ready to move on from that one. I teased that we were going to talk about

live bankruptcy. Give us a little time to dive into that one. That could be a future one. I think we're going to have plenty of time to catch up on a lot of live stuff. I will shout out. Sean Zock had a piece of just nine takeaways from it. Some some fun little details that came with that.

Do you know that very much is a TC way right there? Do you know who I appreciate this week? A lot going on this week. I appreciate Solly, man. I've been hearing about Sully spent three years in Amsterdam. Guys, you know I lived in Europe for three years. You set up the perfect trip. You're the perfect host, the perfect tour guide,

even though it's been years past, everything that you ever said and how excited and joyous you got about it, dude it lived up to every single mark. And I know it's hard when you're making recommendations. And you're like, man, am I like, am I excited? Was it really that cool? No, dude. It's like really cool spot.

And thanks for showing us a little slice, even though it's changed a little bit. But where your old stomping grounds were. And I can't wait to put the video together because it's going to bang. I have the easy part. I got the experience. It just made suggestions. TC did a lot more of the planning.

But thank you. Thank you for saying that. but it's a special. And we're not in Amsterdam, but Amsterdam is obviously a very special place to me, but I was just so stoked to come back to the Netherlands. And just, you know, it's not the biggest golf country,

but it's an up-and-coming golf country, I think. They love, they have a lot of great golf offerings, which you will see in the videos when we get there as well. And this was just, I don't know, man. This was a very, very peak week for me. I don't want to say, I have to think on it,

maybe like my favorite week of the year, but it's pretty darn close with the golf we got to play, getting to go around Amsterdam. and getting to witness this event. And yeah, it's time to go home tomorrow, unfortunately. But I had a lot of, a lot of fun coming back here and covering the event. I would call it the most underrated golf destination I've been to ever. One of the best combinations of culture and things to do in an amazing city

and also drive between 25 and 50 minutes to like a bunch of world-class golf. That is not especially prevalent in a good proximity in continental Europe. Like UK Ireland, you know, all that is a different category in terms of proximity and volume. But like the Netherlands has an incredible offer. Portugal is probably the nearest comp. And that's a different style. It's more resorty. Harry Colt and kind of classic design and it's resorted, but it's beautiful.

But like this is this is a great place. And yeah, gosh, I can't wait for people. We played three rounds. I'd come back and play another, like you can come back and play another four or five rounds and play totally different courses. We come back and play Einhoven, Hilvers,

or Einhoven, Kenimer, Nordvikes being redone right now, play this place. I mean, and, and, you know, and still have just as good of a trip.

But DePont will stick with me for a really, really long time. That is a pretty magical golf course. And you played awful, if I might say. So that means that's a high compliment. And it was rainy. Yeah.

And it was. And man, I was like, I did not want that round to end. Okay, okay, okay. Thank you. Solheim Cove, guys, another Solheim Cove down. These things are awesome. Go, like, if you get a chance to go to one, I don't want to miss one of these in the next decade.

Like, it's just, it's among my favorite events of the year. Yeah. Come through Valhalla. I'll say this. A lot of the LPJ tour folks here saw this. We saw the visit Louisville people here. They were making solid bourbon. and provided pizza and things like that.

Trying to win. Trying to ingratiate themselves. But come to Valhoa, make it. I guarantee you it will be one of the most fun team events of pure golf that you'll see. So we will be there in all likelihood. And yeah, we'll be back. Yeah, not live next weekend, but live in the following week for President's Cup. We get to do this all over again.
