Be the right club. Be the right club today.
Yes!
Johnny, that's better than most.
How about the end?
That is better than most.
Better than most
expect anything different
hello ladies and gentlemen welcome into the no No Laying Up live show. We are live in St. Andrews, myself, Randy. I am joined by Jordan Perez and Cody McBride over here in
Scotland and joining us remote from an undisclosed location somewhere in greater Denver. It is
Mr. Tron Carter. TC, I'll start with you. How are you doing today?
I am great. I'm great.
The weather is wonderful here today.
Randy, uh, we had a little, little rain delay last night or a little rain
suspension last night, some big storms rolled through, but it is, it is
gorgeous out here today.
Awesome.
I love to hear that.
I hope I got a little rain at my house.
If you don't mind going over and checking on the flowers and the grass for me,
that would be wonderful. Maybe, you know, see if Arthur wants a little rain at my house. If you don't mind going over and checking on the flowers and the grass for me, that would be wonderful. Maybe, you know,
see if Arthur wants a little exercise in the backyard.
But I guess it looks like I have Jordan Perez here in an interrogation booth,
some, some type of black site.
But we are in the radio cabin, the IMG radio cabin,
of course producing the open radio
this week, Jordan, how are you?
I leave the country for the first time and you take me to an
interrogation site.
I know.
Well, it's just a rite of passage.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Uh, popping in the show will be Cody McBride.
He's the busiest man in, uh, in podcasting, but let's jump into it.
Um, actually I'm going to bring Cody in right now.
Cody, first of all, how are you?
Say hello to the people.
Thank you, Randy.
I'll, I'll, I'll vamp a little bit.
We were having a little bit of board issues, some technical issues.
Um,
heck yeah.
You hear me TC.
Do you hear me buddy?
I can hear you.
The whole world can hear you, Cody.
Uh, I like it.
We got a lot of stuff going on here
You know what? It's like doing the show on the road. We have been busy. We've been working hard
We've been insulated this winds been up
But we've been having a heck of the time and you know what I appreciate most big gosh
I can't even I don't I have no clue Cody and I appreciate our friends at Yeti
The the most durable products I've ever seen.
I've been rocking my Yeti backpack all week.
It keeps everything protected.
You don't have extra things hanging out the side.
I can keep my water in there.
I can keep my waterproofs in there.
I got extra storage options, you name it.
I love the Yeti cooler line.
You gotta check out the coolers, luggage, you know, they got everything.
Dog bowls, I'll add. Not only that, but we got something special coming out next week too,
that has a little something to do with this golf course right here that we're at. The Old Course
of St. Andrews, and it's going to be proudly presented by Yeti, just like this show. Thank you
to Yeti for being the presenting sponsor of LPGA content all year long for No Laying Up. We would not be here without them. Go ahead, Big. Let's talk.
Amen to that. Well, while we're on the subject, I'll just say later in the show,
we're going to be celebrating moments of joy brought to you by our other fabulous
partner who knows a little something about joy. And that is Foot Joy,
the official shoe glove and rainwear partner of No Laying Up.
We've seen plenty of Foot Joys from the old course at St.
Andrews with almost half of the players in the AIG women's open wearing foot
joy shoes, proving once again, when it matters most, most players choose foot joy.
So how did we get here?
We're 36 holes into this tournament.
I'll be brief.
Charlie Hall, uh, shot out to the lead after round one.
The conditions were spicy. The wind was up.
It was a proper links test.
The old course was showing up, but Charlie hung a 67.
It was a magnificent first round.
She was paired with Nellie Korda and Lilia Vu,
and they all played exceptional golf.
They were all under par. They lived up to the billing.
Of course, that's world ranking number one for Nellie, number for Lillia, Charlie's number 10. Turn the page forward. Today started
out wet with the wind down a little bit. The scoring conditions were much better and players
took advantage of it this morning. We had a clear advantage in the waves. I think going out late,
early proved to be much more friendly than the opposite.
We'll see how much that impacts continues to impact the tournament.
As we get to the weekend, as we stand right now halfway through the AIG
women's open Nelly Korda, the number one ranked player in the world has a three
shot lead.
She's hung a couple 68 on the board.
She sits at eight under par tied for second.
As I mentioned, Lillia Vu and Charlie Hall,
both at five under.
Lillia shot a 70 today.
Charlie was even par.
Hold on, hold on, hold on.
This recap is turning into you going down the leaderboard.
We would not do that in TC's face, all right?
I know that's the heat this heat's packing
as he's dialed in here from Denver.
Big, We've had
a busy couple of days, man. And I know that there's a lot of things yesterday that we
can get to outside of talking bogeys and birdies and going down this leaderboard already. We
got to talk about some weather, some wind, some can diddies.
Okay. All right. All right. Well, let's start here. Here's a good place to start. Jordan,
I'm going to, I'm going to put you on the spot first through Through two rounds, in your opinion, what is the biggest story?
The biggest story, I mean, a lot of different directions we could go here.
Of course.
You know, I, so we're leaning on my opinion for this one.
I, and I actually am writing about this today.
I love seeing Charlie up on that leaderboard a lot.
I just love seeing her being in a position to chase.
That's always intriguing.
And I'm so excited to see what she can do this weekend.
I mean, I kind of love, I don't even, maybe transformation is certainly a stretch, but
her game is really leveled out in a way that certainly makes her a threat here.
And I'm so excited to see that.
Yeah.
I mean, she's obviously a crowd favorite, a close call, great tournament
last year at Walton Heath TC.
I know you've been very dialed in to the women's open.
Let me go to you.
What, in your opinion, what do you think's the biggest story through two rounds?
You're muted dog.
I don't know what happened.
I, I muted myself.
Sorry.
Nellie hands down.
She, uh, she birded the road hole back to back days.
Uh, we were, we were talking about it last week.
Her major records a little light when it comes to the real majors, right?
The, the, the, uh, us women's open, the edgy women's open's Open, KPMG Women's PGA. So I think having her at
top of the leaderboard, just smooth, steady 68s, great for the women's game, great to
see her game traveling. So, and I think it's going to be, it's going to be tough to chase
her down over the next couple of days, but awesome leaderboard. I think that's the other
thing is just the leaderboard is just fantastic.
And not just people on the first page,
you got all sorts of people lurking,
even one under par that are still very much in this thing.
Yeah, I can remember talking very early in the year,
IDing this major specifically for Nellie,
as a way to really put a stamp on her number
one ranking.
And she's halfway there.
Cody, I'll go to you.
Anything else to add as far as biggest stories through two rounds?
Nelly Corda, number one player in the world, sits atop of the leaderboard, 36 holes into
this thing.
It took her about a day and a half to get there in the solo lead, but once she got there,
one thing we know about Nellyie is that she doesn't really
give up big leads and she has to be very, very pleased
with where she's at right now.
Three strokes, she's had one bogey so far through 36 holes,
buckets of birdies and everything's clicking.
She has a new putter in the bag
that kind of shook everybody up,
but if you think about it, it makes complete sense.
She was worried about stability, she was worried about putting on slow greens, she put them out in the it, it makes complete sense. She was worried about
stability. She was worried about putting on slow greens. She put them out in the bag.
It's a little bit heavier, provides her some more stability, same face, and she's just
absolutely draining everything. But I think she's plotting her way around this course
better than anyone. She's not really getting crazy aggressive. She's just charted everything
out perfectly. Like what they have done as a team is truly impressive.
And I don't expect her to let it up.
Are the games as slow as they look?
Yeah, they're super slow.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think they're stimpin' at like nine, nine, six, nine, three, nine.
Yeah.
Something like that.
Um, I totally agree with that.
I'll just add for the sake of conversation, I don't want to overlook
Lily of who, who had been injured for most of this year, battling a back
injury, the defending champion here at the AIG women's open one, two majors
last year was, you know, forgotten about the first half of this season
because of the run Nellie went on.
She's won and she's now put herself tied for second.
We, we know she loves chasing.
We know her competitiveness.
I'm really eager to see how she goes about it, uh, this weekend.
So it's just an awesome, I mean, they put Nellie, Lillian, Charlie together.
And TC, I feel like on the men's
side, we've seen this the most maybe like when they put these star studded groups
together for rounds one and two, I'm struggling to think of when like all
three players have not only played well, but are literally the top three names on
the leaderboard when it actually worked out.
Yeah.
It's crazy.
Yeah.
Like, I don't think the organizers could have drawn it up better.
Yeah. Normally you've got a, you've got a fall well situation where two units, two of the three are
playing well, somebody else is just kind of along for the ride watching. I mean, that's the other
thing. It's like, you got Nellie, you got Lilia there. And then Ronnie, you got Charlie Hole, you
got, you know, Lydia's lurking there. You know you know, you got, you had a couple of amateurs up there as well, which
I'm excited to talk about and I know Jordan is too, but like, yeah, the, the
RNA, uh, could not ask for a better setup heading into the weekend on, in my
opinion, like the best golf course in the world.
Yeah, totally agree.
Um, I think we've talked about Nellie, what an old course open
championship would mean specifically. Lilia would be the first back-to-back champion of the AIG
Women's Open since 2010-2011. TC, your girl Yanni Sang was the last one to do that. It would also
be your third major. My girl. Your girl TC TC. Don't try to deny it.
It would be a third major for Lillia, which would vault her past Nellie.
And Charlie would be her first major.
So it's like those three, their storylines galore.
But as you guys are saying, there are people willing and able standing down, standing by
ready to crash this party.
So TC, in your mind, if it's not Nellie, if it's not Lily, if it's not Charlie
come Sunday evening, who do you think has the best chance?
Um, I'm looking at like an alley Ewing at minus two.
Yeah.
I love that kind of a bulldog kind of a, you know, she's, she's not going to like,
like my question for you guys, how how
disparate has the the the two waves been? Like, has there been
a massive massive advantage with one of the waves versus the
other? Because it seems like there's this group at minus one
minus two that kind of backed up today. You know, it seems like
they were they were kind of on the shore stick as far as the,
the, yeah.
I mean, quickly eyeballing it.
So there are 20 women under par right now.
And Cody, what, at least 14 of those
were in the better draw.
So I don't,
Cody and I were kind of bemoaning
some of the lack of statistics so far in this event TC. So I don't have I, Cody and I were kind of bemoaning some of the lack of statistics so far in this event TC.
So I don't have like a specific split.
But just eye test wise, I'd say stroke, stroke and a half, maybe not a stroke and a half, but certainly maybe a stroke difference, Cody.
Yes, that's it. That's about right.
I would say it's very interesting today because the people who
what is going on i believe we're i believe we're testing at the music stage in the fan village
that's seriously what's happening yeah i guarantee there's a big concert tomorrow night
interrogation i can't really hear it so you guys sound fine honestly you can't hear it not really no you see it's so loud in our ears yeah this is
truly incredible incredible great live uh broadcasting uh oh now we're singing oh boy
yeah uh tc the weather in the morning is by far the worst uh i i know that's like weird but it's
like it's raining every morning the wind is up every morning and then by the time the afternoon comes it's like
From noon to kind of three it gets super gusty and then all of a sudden like a size
As soon as the Sun goes it dies and it just gets cold
So I got I noticed that yesterday
Yeah, like you saw people running out and like getting buckets of birdies
And then all of a sudden really on the back nine way more
gettable and then if it won't stay turned or if they started on the front they were just you know in
serious serious trouble and it's been coming like
West Northwest the entire time and just whipping like sustained at 20 and at times gusts up to 45
It's it's it's been awesome. So on the way out, it's been like, hang on for dear life on the way out to, you know,
11 basically.
Yeah, exactly. And you know the routing of this course, like, so you're fine through
like the first seven and then all of a sudden, well, really six and then all of a sudden
you just hit like the biggest traffic jam you've ever seen. You're like driving down.
That's probably talking about stories of the week so far.
I mean, that was the story of the day.
It seemed like yesterday and it seemed like it was a lot better today.
What like, Hey, take us to yesterday.
Like what, what was, what was the big holdup?
Just people just getting their teeth knocked in on 11.
And yeah, 11, 11 was the hardest hole and it was a, it
was a strong gusty crosswind.
Uh, Sean Zach on golf.com actually like wrote all about it, but you know, when,
when you have that crosswind specifically, it's just so difficult.
And so the hole was playing hard as hell.
You have split T and that's like the area of the course TC, you know this,
but folks at home, like it's the loop, right?
So you have all kinds of different people crossing and you know, there's like four holes kind of jammed in that area.
It just, and I don't know why.
So eventually they started having, you know, they were waving up the group.
So a group would tee off.
They go up, mark their balls, have the group behind them hit, but it took forever
to like get to that point and Cody, did you go through 11 today?
Were they doing that at all?
Like having the, like, did they just do that all day?
There's the loudest concert testing in my ear, but I don't know if they were
waving groups up all day today.
Uh, yeah, when I was out on the course this afternoon doing radio, they, they,
that's very normal.
Wave them up.
Even if they're crossing, like, you know, it's weird when you go up to, was it seven?
So at the point on seven, where you're like crossing over 11 and everything else,
like there's three groups moving around all at the same time.
Yeah.
And the right, it's funny to the right always got the right away.
So like, just like, just like on the roads here. Yeah. Yield to the right. Yeah.
Part four move. What is happening? Oh no. You guys just lose power. No, we have motion sensor
lights. Oh, wow. There we go. Cody's flapping around getting them turned back on. We have you
guys. I'm not believing that this is the radio compound.
This might be the security compound and you know, MI5 or MI6 or whatever is holding you up.
That's what it feels like.
Thankfully.
So the pace yesterday was atrocious.
I mean, it was like six and a half hours almost to complete rounds.
Today was much better.
I will go going back to the weather though, TC,
looking at the forecast tomorrow,
I think it sets up for the most compelling possible scenario
where again, in the morning,
it's gonna be pretty still winds,
and then they're gonna grow to the afternoon.
It looks like peaking, you know,
in that two, three, four o'clock window
when the leaders are, you know, out on the course
and really in the thrust of play.
So it'll be a test.
And I think there'll be an opportunity
to hang some birdies early
and perhaps make up a lot of ground.
I mean, just forget how bad it was, TC.
You saw, we sent the pictures, like,
there were so many groups just like backed up
and it seemed like
yeah I heard it was like an hour 45 to get for like people that started on 10. I know
I was out there on my phone running around showing them that video that Solly made I
was trying to fix the problem man nobody was listening nobody cared about traffic. Yeah
it was truly like a 45 minute wait on the team. So weather wise, it seemed like it was like in the initial forecast, it seemed like it
was going to be a lot wetter.
And it seems like the moisture is mostly mist and you guys look so cold and all the pictures
you keep sending through, but people are dogging you because it because you know, all the all
of the weather trackers are showing that it's not that cold.
It's like 15, 16, 17 degrees Celsius.
And they're calling you guys soft.
Well, I also will say this is that we're out on the course, like working and moving.
And it's weird because we don't get a stop anywhere.
We don't get a, we don't get a drink.
We don't get to eat anything.
We don't get a chance to like change layers or anything else.
So you're basically like, I go with the mindset of I'm going to bundle up to the
point of like, I know I'm going to be comfortable with what I'm wearing.
Oh yeah.
And I can shed over time, but because if you get out there, TC, you're just,
you're screwed.
Oh, I know.
There's nothing you can do.
It's like, yeah, it's not like you can be like, okay, like I need, my hands are
cold, I need to put them in my pocket, but you're holding a microphone the whole time trying to sound
Somewhat can hear it
Did you not hear this CC can't hear this music I can hear it I can hear it very very faintly
But it's not okay. I hear you guys. Let me turn off my reduced background noise suppressor real quick
Okay, now I hear it yeah, yeah, it's it's rocking I mean it's a bop
Yeah, yeah, at least it's a bop turn it back off
I'll say this too about the weather real quick for all the haters and losers out there, you know, yes
It's 55 degrees at 60 degrees
Fine that in a nutshell, isn't that cold.
But when you have the wind, right now my app says
the feels like temperature is 47 degrees.
So I mean, come on, it's chilly.
I've been four layers every day.
I've had a heat pack on my neck
and I've not regretted a single second of it.
JP literally has this, the heat packs on the neck.
It's a genius idea.
Nobody really notices because their hair
is covering it the whole entire time.
But it's off now, it wore off.
But yeah, best thing I ever bought.
Cody, are they selling the meat pies out there too?
I have not seen a meat pie, TZ.
No.
You know, stumble into a couple of fish and chips.
Things like that.
A wheat chip.
Some shawarma action.
You know how we like to get.
That's how we do.
No, Cody, I was going to quickly try to get this back on the rails a little bit.
Outside of that top three star studded group, do you think anybody is going to crash the
party and if so, who might that be?
Yeah, I mean it's hard hard to say really I would say
Like I really want nelly to win this championship, yeah, I think she's put herself in a perfect position
But if you're gonna look outside of the three as you just asked me to the fact that like
Ronnie's been playing so freaking good. She that her opening round in those conditions. Yeah Yeah, so in crap he was on the bad side of the draw field by eight strokes and
Like probably didn't get properly rewarded it and had a little comeback round today shooting even part. Yeah, she's right there
I don't really think that's like putting myself too far out there at one point time
Ash Buhai was like six under on her round today,
six under total. Obviously moved it back to three under. I guess I'm most curious, like Lydia,
I would say Lydia too. I mean, I always worry about this because it's so gusty out here. I
worry about the people who don't have like, you know, a space is one thing. I know, you gotta,
you gotta lean into it the whole time. But I've learned a lot so far. Lydia's got a dog in her, the They're so damn good. And this is Lottie Wode again. Like, yeah, so impressive. Well, let's go there. Jordan. Yeah, we have, and Lottie's not even the low M right now.
It's Luis Rigquist. Let's start there with just some biographical information on Luis
Rigquist who is at three under par and shot, what did she shoot today? Three under par,
I believe. Or no, excuse me.
She's got 67 today. Bogey free. believe. Or no, excuse me. 5 on day. She got 67 today.
Bogey free.
Yeah. What do we need to know about her?
Yeah. Louise is a rising senior at South Carolina. I mean, she's always been a phenomenal player.
She's from Sweden, has kind of been waiting for this moment for a long time. She got in by winning the European Women's Amateur
back in this past summer, but she made two runs,
actually two very profound runs at the British Women's Am
the past two years.
So in 2022, she was the runner up at the British Women's Am,
missed out on an exemption into this event.
And then in 2023, she made it to, I believe, the semi-finals.
So she's just been waiting for this moment for such a long time.
And I think her play today was just a testament to that.
She's someone who I think could really,
it's scaring Lottie a little bit right now.
But I am also afraid of Lottie based on some of her comments
from the presser she had after she was finished
with her round.
What did she say?
I love the confidence Lottie's always had
about her ability to play in windy conditions.
And I touch on that a little bit in what I'm writing today
because she was very forward about that
when she won Anwalt and
even when she had contended from the very beginning because at Champions Retreat it was so so so windy
those first two rounds and Lottie today she was you know and it was pretty obvious if you guys saw
during the broadcast a lot of times she was like beating herself up over missing a few birdie
pots there I mean I I mean she made those I can't imagine where she'd be right times she was like beating herself up over missing a few birdie putts there. I mean, I mean, she made those, I can't imagine where
she'd be right. But she was kind of like, you know, like I just had to reset.
Like I have a lot of experience on Lynx golf. That's kind of where I put my
focus this summer. And you know, her, she kind of dropped in there too, that she'd
played something. I know something does not a true links, but she dropped in
there that she'd been playing something deal a good bit So she's been really having her eye on he flex
yes, like like she's had her eye on this week and
The Curtis Cup for a long time and I also want to remind people that she won
The girls junior the British girls junior a few years ago
Seven and six at car news D. So Lottie Wode
serious serious A few years ago, seven and six at car news D. So Lottie Wode serious, serious.
Yeah. Bit of a killer.
I think both of them are trying to win.
Yeah.
Not trying to be low.
Am like, they're just like, Hey, let's go.
Let's go win this thing.
You know?
Yeah.
It was, I know it's the same thing out there.
Just her body language was like, she's not happy to be here.
She like, she wants to win.
Um, I was going to say there were five amateurs that started this event.
Two more made the cut.
You have Ulia Lopez Ramirez at two over and I believe Argentina's Ella
Anacana at four under, so Jordan.
Right now, who's your pick to win the Smith Salver low am trophy come Sunday?
Guys, I'm hyped up on Lottie.
She's really backing it up a lot.
And I think she's been really thoughtful about her preparation and her play.
And, you know, I think the way that she came back at Anwalt was really profound.
And I, I, I write it at some, at some point I write it in my, like it
looked like, at least at Anwalt, it looked like the most difficult 69
anyone could have had.
And I think she's just championship tested
and she looks great.
I mean, every part of her game is looking so good right now.
It's so versatile, you know,
and it's not just built for links golf, right?
I feel like she's just someone who, gosh,
every time I watch Lottie,
I'm just more and more and more impressed by her.
I can't see a world in which she doesn't take home the Smiths' Alba.
Wow.
All right.
There you have it.
Um,
hating on the speed.
Tc, if, if we may very quickly, you want to go down the leaderboard, give a
couple of call outs here.
Yeah, I would love to.
And I'd like to start with someone who is at currently T18, Gino Titicum, because he's
21 years old. So she's two years younger than one of the amateurs that we're talking about here.
That's crazy.
Which is nuts, right? And I think she's in a perfect position. She hasn't gotten a whole lot out of
And I think she's in a perfect position. She hasn't gotten a whole lot out of her first two rounds and she's sitting right there minus
two right now or minus one right now.
So I think her and her country woman, Patty Tabak-Taneket, both of them right there, got
Andrea Lee there, you got Georgia Hall there, Steph Kiriakou is having a great year.
So a lot of talent kind of in that, you know,
I think lingering loitering. Yeah. You know, how far back is too far back kind of thing. I would say,
especially with what's supposed to happen with the weather tomorrow, I think you can go all the way
back to, I think even is probably where it needs to be. And then I think anybody past even is
probably too far back. Yeah, I, yeah, I do agree. I do agree. And those are great call outs. I want to mention someone at
even who played late today, meaning she went early late, Caroline Inglis shot a 66 today,
the round of the day, she had shot 78 yesterday. So she's sitting at level par. Listen, I have no idea if she's gonna keep it up tomorrow,
but being out there this afternoon and hanging a 66
was seriously impressive stuff for her.
So good on her.
Also at even par, Cody, your girl,
Alexa Panos having a great tournament.
Yeah, absolutely.
Talked to her a little bit today,
but really, from the start of this week, it was funny.
We'd spent some time with our friends at Titleist and the tour truck, and they're like, the Anybody beyond that worth calling out? Yeah, really. Yeah, really keep going.
I think I think Leona plus one, I think we could see something gritty grindy out of her
tomorrow.
What a shot out Paul Arito and Celine for they both shot 77 first round and came back
followed it with a 69.
You know, that's that's five over after one round and then the links golf you can kind
of come back and I think
Yeah, Celine that that's the kind of player that I think st. Andrews should favor a little bit of
Doesn't hit the ball a long way, but you know link see and get the ball on the ground and play creatively
You see I agree with you on that on Celine
You know obviously I ride ride for a girl team all this all the way, baby
but Celine, you know, obviously I ride for our girl, team Altus all the way baby, but Celine is the one person who breaks my rule
about like the structure needed
because she's so thin
that she just cuts right through the wind.
So you don't have to worry about her.
She's the one exception to that.
Yeah, again, like, you know,
I know Jordan you track this pretty closely,
but there's so many Japanese ladies on,
that have made the cut.
Nine.
Like they are so deep right now,
as far as in like the world women's game,
to the point where I don't think enough of them
are getting into LPGA events
or ladies European tour events.
Like it's almost like the opposite of manipulation.
Like they're getting manipulated against
because the Japan ladies golf tour is so deep
I think Maya could could could make a move this weekend as well
You know, and then Lexi made the cut
Like who else is really up there Lynn grant we got to talk about her fit
Yeah
Well, I want to get ahead of something.
OK.
All right.
Now, TC, you were asleep when this happened.
And I strolled past the practice putting green on my way
from the radio studio.
The fan village is kind of to the right of 16.
And I had to walk all the way back up
to where the media center is at to link up
with the great Sophie Walker, who I was going to walk and call radio with in the afternoon. the the it in weird purple stripes on the shoulders and that's why I was like I said it in our slack house like I yo man I don't think this is it I didn't even
see her here and by the time I got in the media center Jordan's like hey like
Lynn man this fit and I'm like are you talking about the boots she's like nah
man like Cody I I like the boots I will go on the record and say the boots I
thought you said you didn't like the boots.
No, I'm only interested.
Okay, okay.
I love them.
Okay, cool.
Yeah, it was, it's a look.
I love it.
I think she looks like she's about to fly down
to Mont Blanc or Courcheval.
Exactly.
You know, do some apres ski action.
She's got some like wrestling boots on.
They are shoes. The crazy thing is, Jesus, come on. There we go. If you just listen to the podcast,
the lights just went out again. We're waving our arms furiously trying to get them back on.
The audio listeners are missing a lot right now. Yeah. TC, the light just went out again. We're waving our arms furiously trying to get them back on. The audio listeners are missing a lot right now.
Yeah. TC, the craziest thing about her fit is that the Sky Sports team, so I guess their
clothing sponsor is Adidas. And this is clearly like the package deal that they sent. And
they're like, everybody, this is your AIG women's open fit, because all of them are wearing like the exact same thing and I'm like
Wait a second. They're like they look like they're out there in team uniforms
I use a live event or something like that. So it's very easy to spot them out
But nobody brought it with the muffs as hard as Lynn did today
Yeah, I think and speaking of Lynn she shot 77 71
Just a disappointing start for her.
Same thing with Esther Henselight,
who's been among the hottest players in the world,
not named Lauren Coughlin of late.
Same thing, 77-71.
And then I'm surprised.
I know you want to move on.
It's Lynn's driver.
I don't know what's going on.
She's got the quick lefts and the crazy dead rights.
I mean, yesterday she's the only person to shoot like she doubled 18.
Yeah she hit an OB.
She blew it like in old Tom's old like bedroom.
It was so far right.
And like when you say the only player to make double there,
I think like going back to all of the iterations of the women's open here
is the only player to double 18.
Really? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's sick. Wow. And then I'm disappointed with Ayaka
Fieruwe and Nasa Hatayoka. I thought both of them, Ayaka's floor has been like T12 this season.
Yeah. To see her, you know, make the cut on the number 75, 73, uh,
just a little bit disappointing, but on the flip side, somebody that she's
tied with, uh, good to see some grit out of Rose to make the cut today.
And after a disaster of a start, right?
Cody, you were out there yet.
Talk about the disaster that Rose was going through early in her round.
Well, it started on the second hole and if people didn't see it, uh, you know,
she hit in one of the paw bunkers, which, you know, you, you just, you cannot put
your drive in one of these and Rose happened to her twice today and she made big
mistakes, uh, coming after him, but on two, she hit in the, in the first bunker
and literally like just doff the chip or dump duffed a sand shot
Then our second attempt she hit the the wall the bunker wall and it came back and hit her
And then she had to chip it completely backwards finally took her medicine went backwards and I'm like staring at Ollie the whole time
It's caddy and he's like, you know, like oh my goodness like his body's convulsing
Yeah, so she finally gets it back in the fairway, hits it up, kind of makes
a mess of it from there still ends up with an eight, not good started four,
eight immediately came back birdie in the next hole.
And I was like, yes, let's go.
Like this is awesome.
So fine.
Steady it out on four, got through it with the par and got the five and
sure as shit did like the same thing, the same thing again. And I'm like, Oh my goodness.
Like what is happening here? Doubles five. Like one of the few like five today was very
gettable like should have got a four there relatively easy part five, the wind's not beating you up too much.
And then from there on, like she just locked in and she grinded so hard and we made it
to 11 and there was kind of a pause.
Like I said, we talked about backups off 11, we got to 12 T and that's when like, you know,
all he was like, yo, what's the number at?
Like where are we at?
And I'm like, it's at, it's at four.
And he's like cool.
And like they both head down, they're plotting everything, going double triple over yardages
and she still hit some like squirrely shots but she hit almost every single green coming in.
Finally got that birdie on 16 which was awesome. She absolutely flagged her second shot into there,
played the rolled hole the exact way you needed to when like you're up against the cut line, like no need to go at
that pin at all. Like Georgia did in the same group ended up back up against across the
road against the wall, made a complete mess of it there. Rose hit in that front of the
green, two putted, got out of there. Let's go play 18. And it was, it was awesome to
see truly.
Can I, can we stick with radio? Cause you were, you were with Rose. I just want to kind of transition to how much fun we're having with radio, but I really love Cody. You came in,
we were meeting here at the radio cabin after you got off the course. If you don't mind me saying
like you were like this today was a true pinch me moment for you. Could you just kind of expand on the and like at the home of golf and everything like that. But like, you know, the RNA is doing a really good job.
The AIG is doing a really good job.
And there's decisions that they make over time
that we might not agree with,
but like we know that really their heart's
in the right place and they're like thinking
towards the future.
Part of that, which like we were like, why,
is the split tee times.
Like that made zero sense. And I'm sure there's a lot of people that tuned in, they were like, why is the split tee times? That made zero sense.
And I'm sure there's a lot of people that tuned in.
They're like, what the hell?
Why do they have split tees and threes?
Because, man, they were sprinting.
Sprints were still sprinting to get it done, even tonight.
Television is a debacle, straight up.
I don't even know.
Last year, we had the world feed at least
starting when team tea time started. This year like locally there's not even a world feed until
like there's no pictures local and you miss an entire like morning block at tea times.
So where is this going? To the radio and the radio team because it's one of the coolest things ever
to be able to like be inside the ropes and call radio and be a part of you know it's an IMG production
but it's tied into BBC and Sirius XM and you know it's available all over the place but
they're like truly professionals and experts at doing it and today you know somebody who's
we've we've grown like pretty close to over time from being around Sophie Walker is I'm just out there like watching Georgia
Rose and Ayaka food away like three golfers that I absolutely love like three stars of the game their faces off and
Georgia I wanted her to go so deep and like she played so good and her score doesn't really represent that
But it's just like the coolest thing ever.
And I got to see the whole golf again at the old course.
Yeah.
And I got to see somebody like make a complete mess out of the road hole.
Like Georgia did everything you don't do.
She missed it way left, like way too far left and then got overly aggressive.
And she shouldn't have gone to that front portion of the green and
too potted like Rose did, but no, no, she changed out a five iron, went with a hybrid
and like there was no way in any world, wind or no wind, like knocking it down, that that
thing was going to stop anywhere towards. And when we saw her hit it and like we called
it on the radio, I'm like, oh man, the way the fans were looking over the
that back wall. I'm like, it's at the base of the wall. Like she's going to have to play backwards
or or not at all or try to go completely sideways. And then, you know, a pretty good recovery shot
messed up the putts from there ended up doubling it and then came right back on 18,
burning it. And, you know, it was just, it was just, she did play really well.
Yeah.
Jordan real quick.
From the, just from afar,
I've been listening like on the app
and just throwing an air pod in
and just sitting here at this tournament,
like watching golf here, but listening to you guys.
And I mean, Cody, like a bunch of people saying
you're a natural at this.
Like we've had so many nice compliments.
He is a natural.
He's so good.
Just, yeah, just like really, really good delivery and, uh, and witty.
And, you know, in the moment, man, I like bucket list thing would be like,
I want to hang out with Marcus.
I want to go.
He's, he's the best.
He does not take himself seriously he makes you laugh he strikes the
perfect balance between taking the golf seriously and rising to the moment but also an ability to
have fun and be playful and you know give and take and yeah it's it is a ton of fun like super
like complimentary of us like you know when we're on radio
We get like a million shout out to the NLU podcast
Yeah, that's true. It's free promo that like we never paid or anything like that
Like it's incredible to reach that we're getting out of it, but we like all of them from top top to bottom
They're all great. They take awesome care of us. I honestly think
Like I think we need to get Marcus on the trap draw the the the with Lydia Ko and the amateur that you refuse to pay any attention to, but young Swede.
So power grouping there.
Um, I lent her some praise.
Thank you.
I mean, just a little bit.
You could have been a little bit more praiseful.
Yeah.
You're, you're a lot of Homer.
Well, you know, there is a funny thing because we say a lot of things on this channel because it's you know, primarily
American based and then when you go on radio like, you know, it's like very much
UK centric and they're always like who's your favorite? I'm like, yeah, let's let's go Charlie
Until they need you to play like, you know be the American for a second. Okay. Yeah, so but today was awesome the It's been so sweet. But yeah, we got here because we were talking about Rose.
Awesome job by her.
And the other person I want to give a quick shout out to that absolutely like grinded
it had two Eagles today on her card.
Angel Yin.
Let's go outside of the cut line.
They knew that they were part of this late wave Eagles.
Number five Eagle at 14 shoots 270 gets herself in four over right at that spot.
And like, you know what it is like angels going to make some money this weekend. Well,
yes, angel likes money. Uh, we all like money. The other thing I think is big is like,
this needs to be a statement, I think, to solidify Solheim cup. Yeah. You know,
making the cut, showing an ability to grind.
Jordan, you actually asked her a question
in the press conference.
What did you ask and how did she answer?
I asked her a few questions.
First of all, really excited for Angel.
She's kind of, she's had a tough year.
I mean, she dealt with an injury this year,
is going through a caddy change right now.
So I wanted to clarify that.
I asked Angel, I said, Hey, like, you know,
just to verify, seen you with a lot of different faces. Are you going through a
caddy change? And she says, like, well, I am going through a caddy change. Can you
tell? It's a different face every week, right? Just kind of hoeing around.
hoeing around.
She that's in the transcript.
Yeah.
H o e I N G.
Well, she was with Marcus and we got very used to seeing Marcus bag use on the first Solheim. They obviously last year carried an NLU towel for quite a
few events. I can't remember the guy's name. I think it was Mark, who's her
current caddy now, but he's fulltime caddy for for Monte, call him Montgomery on Champions Tour.
John Brayton. You should meet Bronte Law as full-time caddy. Yeah yeah yeah.
Yeah I mean they he came in actually when I was in the radio booth this
morning and was with us for 30 minutes and basically got the opportunity to
ask him what's it like knowing that there's birdies
that are out there and you guys like have to go
absolutely grind this afternoon?
And he's like, our homework's done, you know,
she's prepared, we just gotta go shoot the number
and getting two Eagles out there.
And I mean, hitting the numbers, good on.
Good on it, good on it.
Couple questions for you guys.
Like what's this?
What's been the biggest?
Kind of you know we've watched a bunch of men's opens from st. Andrews
what's been the coolest hole to watch the women play that either the strategy is is
You know it's kind of reinvigorated with the strategy playing it kind of the correct way like it
I think the road hole has been awesome to watch this week,
but anything else that's really stuck out to you as far as,
oh my gosh, like everything's back in proportion
and seeing the ladies play this hole is really interesting.
Yeah.
I mean, honestly, not to like cop out on an answer,
but like almost every approach shot I feel like is,
I mean, you mentioned Georgia hitting what four iron
or three wood into the road hole.
Yeah, she was between five iron and hybrid.
Yeah.
It's, I don't think she realized it like quite at the time,
but what jumpers mean and like when you're talking
about their ball speed and trajectories coming
into some of these greens and how different it is for the women versus the men. And you
see that TC like on almost every single, every single hole. And the other thing too, is that
you see people who like haven't really figured out what their plan is yet around this course
on some of the short fours
They hit it way too far up there and then they realize like oh my no man's land
We're not we're not in America where I can hit this like, you know
6070 yard spinner and it's gonna stop and they blow it over the green and like there's a pop-up or waiting back there
So go have fun with that. I mean, it's been cool seeing some of the ladies
Hit wood, hit
lumbering.
I was gonna say, yeah, I mean, I, we mentioned Ayaka Fudeway,
like, I guarantee you she hit more woods out there today, than
probably the whole for approach shots, then probably the whole men's field in 2022.
Yeah.
Like no doubt.
And so it's just crazy.
And back to your point about like hitting it too far on some of these par
fours, he see like hole 12, right.
Was playing 315 yards today and was the third most difficult hole
at like a 4.31 scoring average.
Yeah. That's like Lauren, Lauren got tripped up out there, right?
She hit a bush and Lauren missed the cut, but it looked like she kind of made a mess
there and you know, like, so, so what's the, what's the vibe around town too?
Is it kind of a party atmosphere or people, people going out or are you seeing players
in the restaurants?
Kind of. This is Randy, Randy's partying.
Yeah.
Uh, it's really cool.
You see players caddies, you know, as one does in St.
Andrews, everybody's just walking around.
So yeah, if you stroll around town, you're bound to see anybody and everybody.
My first night here, I was kind of going for a walk.
Didn't want to go to bed yet trying to keep the jet lag going.
And I run into Maya Stark, you know, it's just, you never quite know
who you're going to see the done vegans rocking, you know, of course jigger in.
I think they're doing more maybe hospitality, at least during play at the
jigger in, I would say, so I don't have a good feel for that. But yeah, St. Andrews is
great. And I've never been to St. Andrews for a men's open, but truthfully, it might be, from what
I hear, like, it almost feels like it might be too crowded. It's kind of, it's like, it kind of feels
like a Goldilocks week where it's like just right. Well, honestly, TZ, I mean, I feel like you've done
Walker Cup and Women's Open now. Those are like probably
the best events, maybe Dunhill to go to at the at the at the St. Andrews.
So, yeah, I mean, the fact that there's, you know, it depends on what group it is. But
like, there's a lot of people out watching. Obviously, it's not going to be as much as
a men's major. But even at nighttime, we have no issues getting into
a restaurant. We got into that little Italy place without a reservation.
Getting good foods at restaurants and you might have to wait a little, like,
you know, we're talking like five, 10 minutes.
Like when I'm in Dallas, they're like, yep, you're, you're next on the line.
And you still have an hour wait.
I'm like, what the hell, man?
Yeah.
Like it's Texas roadhouse, dude.
Just let me in.
Well, let's, um, guys, I want to get an official pick on the record. the official pick to win the women's open. Charlie hole. Love it.
I love it.
Cody, do I need to stick with my original pick?
No, this is, I mean, if you want to, of course, but I won't judge you.
Okay.
I'm going to pull a TC here because my pick this week, uh, early in this
week before play even started was Charlie hall.
My pick for the year.
Uh, obviously see your Nelly man.
That's what we're riding with get on the train gonna happen
Glad to see your you know, you two haters. If you don't say Nelly, I know you're
Jordan who's your pick? Well, Cody if I remember right we had a snake draft on Wednesday
And I took Nelly with the fifth pick. So
in there
Says a lot about the people who were actually in the draft though.
I was not producing.
That's true.
That's true.
That's true.
That's fair.
Sorry.
How did Nelly make it that far?
Uh, and why is Sally not on this show to talk about how awful his team is?
My mind was pretty bad.
Otherwise, both of my players missed the cut.
Okay.
Cody bullied me into it.
I'll, I'll officially pick Nelly on the record.
I'll give you a plus one.
OK.
Lily's a bulldog.
Lillia is a bulldog.
Ronnie's playing great.
OK.
All right.
Don't let him get in your head, Randy.
Don't let him get in your head.
The leaderboard's so good.
Like, you talk about the best tournaments
at the best courses and what venues do. Like, look at the leaderboard. so good. Like you talk about, you know, the best tournaments at the best courses
and what venues do like look at the leaderboard.
This is it.
And I was curious who was gonna be
in that final game tomorrow,
whether it was Charlie or Lillia.
I can't say it's Nellie and Lillia in the final group.
2.30 local time, meaning 9.30 Eastern back in the States.
That's your final group tomorrow.
And then the penultimate group is Ronny Yin and Charlie Hall. So it's just as good as it gets.
It's gonna be fantastic. Yes. Alright, time for another moment of joy brought
to you by Foot Joy. Who has some they want to share? Let me lead off guys. Let
me please, I will lead off guys. Let me, let me please, I will, I will lead off here. Um, I was thinking about this and,
and you know, I could get sappy. I could, I just, Cody, it's
great to be back at another women's open with you. You
know, we, we were at Walton Heath last year. It was our first
time going our first time doing radio. And I think we both left
that week, just being like, man, that was an awesome
experience. We were dog tired.
We were worn out, but we immediately said, especially coming to the home of
golf here, we got to go back and year two, it just is something I've looked
forward to all year.
And we've talked about the great leaderboard and we've gotten great links golf.
And so I'm just going to make the whole damn experience and being here and Jordan, you're here with us this year. Like it's, it's my moment of joy. I'm in my happy
place. And so I thank both of you guys. Yeah. So I wanted to get sappy right off the bat,
Jordan, what's your moment of joy? Guys. Okay. I have been dying to sing your praises ever since
you guys were talking about radio and the experience you guys have had. So I'm gonna get sentimental too, okay?
Oh my gosh.
Um, I just first of all, I cannot even believe like I am on this trip. I'm just like so overwhelmed with joy.
I think like going into it. I was very scared and afraid and anxious and overwhelmed.
Um, but I knew it was going to be good and you guys have done nothing
but made me feel so comfortable and I learned
so much from you guys every time I'm around you guys and you know I like I mean specifically
I can point to sitting in the media center today because I've I've been writing today
and I didn't get to go out much and all I did was listen to you guys on radio and I
just wow you guys have been absolutely killing it. The context, the color, the play by play.
I'm just so proud of you guys.
And I'm so grateful to even be here
and that you even thought of including me.
And I don't know, I'm gonna stop talking
before I get emotional.
Yeah, God dang, you're making me emotional.
Jordan, question for you.
What's your, like first time to Scotland,
what's your biggest, what's the most surprising thing
or something that you just totally unexpected?
Oh, wow.
I think in terms of unexpected, you know, okay, before this is going to sound bad, this
is going to sound really bad.
So for fear of sounding awful, my first, you know, my first profound impression
of a Scott in my life ever was Sean Connery.
And you know, a thing or two about Sean Connery, that man was a big grump.
So, you know, I didn't know what to expect out of the Scots.
I didn't know if they would be super friendly or not.
Or you just had a bunch of Sean Connery's lying around. They have been so friendly and so cool. the I would say that. Yeah, yeah, the Scots are the best. They are. They are. T.C., what do you got?
Yeah, I got, it's been an awesome week here. I got in, gosh, got in Tuesday morning and Tuesday
had a good day and then Wednesday we played the Pro-Am. That's, we got to hang, we've been hanging
out with Roger Steele the whole week here. He's the best. And that's been a blast.
But Wednesday night, we, and there were a couple moments from the pro and I'll tell
you guys about, but Wednesday night we went to the Manning cave and did a Q&A with Tommy
Fleetwood and it was freaking awesome.
And Neil, I think Cody's got a picture of it.
Neil was sitting in Peyton's chair that he does on the Manning cast.
It's in this big warehouse and there's 25 TVs.
He's got a pool table, this big bar and everything.
He's got the wired in clicker that goes straight to the VCR or whatever the tape machine is.
Neil is just doing impressions
of all of his college football coaches. And that was a moment of joy. It was, it was so,
we had so much fun that night. Tommy was awesome in the Q&A. Like everybody was like, oh my
gosh, like he's like the best. He's like the nicest guy in the world. He's just so like
talkative and inquisitive and curious about you and all that
stuff. So yeah, it was a great, great night. And Randy, I think Denver, Denver's showing out to
oh, good. So Pines and there's, there's an energy out there for sure. So it's, you know, I like,
that's one of the things I love about this tournament is it, it bounces around to, you know,
city to city and like next year it's going back to Caves Valley, it'll be
in St. Louis after that, Chicago last year, Wilmington, Delaware.
It's kind of these under recognized or under appreciated places in the golf world that
just don't get a lot of professional golf tournaments.
And so when one does come through, BMW does a first class job, the Western Golf
Association. And I think there were some big concerns about how to set this course up this
week between it's a really big walk and just agronomy wise and like the rough is so long.
And by all accounts, I talked to a bunch of players, a bunch of caddies this morning,
like they were all raving about it. Like like Stephen Cox and the advanced team from the tour
and the build out and everything,
like they've made it work out here.
It's not the easiest place logistically
to host a major professional golf event
and get people in and out of this property,
even just, you know, to parking and shuttles
and all of that stuff.
So just spectacular so far and the weather's
just awesome today.
As we're recording, I mean play is going on, what is it like just after 2 p.m. local time right now,
Friday afternoon in Denver. Who early returns or who sticks out as playing well or what other notable
I guess birdies and bogeys do you want to call out? Yeah, I mean Adam Scott just shot the course record.
That's pretty good.
Yeah, that's cool.
You know, nine birdies today, no bogeys, clean card, four under on the par fives.
And that's kind of, as we played in the Pro-Am with, we're supposed to play with Sahe for
the front nine and then Tom Hoagy for the back nine.
Sahe's been having some wrist issues.
So Max Grazerman popped in for him. He was a pleasure to play with, but just talking to him about
the altitude and using his quad, like he had his quad on every shot and just actually his caddy,
Jaime, his caddy for us out at Bandon before as well. He lives at Bandon.
he's caddied for us out at Bandon before as well. He lives at Bandon. It's just the man. So, but talking to them, I mean, Max is so impressive. He's not going anywhere, man. He's here to stay
on tour, I think. And just such a thoughtful guy. His brother played, I think, I'm not sure of both
of his brothers. I know one of his brothers played in the USM last week. One of them is at Stanford.
He's a rising junior.
And then the other one is a freshman at Princeton.
Oh, and Max went to Duke.
So it's got a pretty impressive family.
And then they had a smart son.
Yeah, we got to get you set up with Tom Hoagie down in Fort Worth.
He is just an absolute legend.
He's the man we're hanging out with with his caddy James Edmondson, who's I think past club champ at Colonial.
And just, you know, he caddyed for Ryan Palmer for a long time.
And he was just saying, he's like, man, I think he's like, I follow, you know, I've
gotten to know Tom over the last few years living in, you know, James is from Fort Worth
originally.
And, and he was like, man, Tom's like the most underrated player on tour. It's just, it's crazy how consistent and just, you know, and he didn't
have a launch monitor, track man, anything like that. He was just like hitting shots
and feeling it out.
Yeah, man, digging it out of the dirt.
Welcome to the Fort Worth Techies.
Exactly.
I mean, he like one of the better iron players out there.
Yeah. Like crazy good. And then, yeah. So just, you know, just talking to them about, you know, anecdotes here and there. Um, but yeah, Adam Scott's out front. He's got a five shot lead right now. Alex Noren, 68, 68 from him. He's done for, for the day. Um,
buckets of money.
So happy. He's gonna, he's gonna set his schedule all summer next year out at Gotland.
Yeah, like weeks 28 through 37. Yeah, we shut it down after the British Open. Yeah,
that's the one you want to be out there. You got a couple of Canadians,
Corey Connor. Keegan's playing well. He's TT right now. Corey Connor's Taylor Penderth are
playing well. Ludwig's got a really good round going. He's six under right now. He made seven
birdies yesterday, but talked to him in a scoffer a little bit this morning.
They just, you know, kind of had a couple loose shots. The rough is just so freaking
thick. And I mean, effectively, like the course is like 8,100 yards. And effectively, there's
a couple hundred yards of downhill, like aggregate on the tee shots. Plus the, you know, like I was talking to Joe Griner about it.
The morning it starts at like 10 or 12 percent
that they do for the adjustment on the altitude and then by the afternoon,
early evening, it's up to like 15 percent. Or for a guy like Xander or Rory who's
hitting, who's got the higher launch angle.
Talked to Austin Eckhert and his caddy.
They just straight up converted to meters this week.
So they don't have to do any calculations.
They just got all their yardage books and meters
and they're just going straight off meters
and just straight 10%.
Which is just.
Which is.
Simplify it.
Yeah.
Hideki was five, he shot five under.
Missed a tap in on 18 last night and he withdrew this
morning with some sort of back issue. So, but yeah, otherwise Rory's playing well. Tommy's kind of
battling back into it. And then, you know, I'm just, I'm feeling for Max right now. Max Homa, he's fighting it.
You know, and I think Potter's not hot. He's struggling, struggling tee to green. He's just
struggling off the tee a bunch. And this is not an easy place to play if you're struggling off the
tee. Like, first hole, you know, it's, fairway is probably a hundred feet below. And so the ball's
in the air for forever. The wind can, the wind was moving all over the place yesterday morning so so we'll
see what happens over the next next couple of days with the weather but no
it's I mean crowds are huge and I think it's just a message to the PGA Tour like
go to different go to different markets go to go to new markets go to you know
Denver like just the you know I was talking to Steve Lowry was here this week.
You know, some of the old guys that played field international have kind of
come back for it.
And, and, you know, they were all talking about how great of a tournament this
was and how Denver was a good market and all that.
So yeah, it's one of those things.
It's like, Hey man, like, you know, have some tournaments out here, have some
tournaments in the Pacific Northwest, have some tournaments in Chicago.
Like it shouldn't be the only one that bounces around.
So thank you.
So.
Amen to that.
Uh, well, let me, you and Neil both played, you mentioned the Pro-Am, any, any other highlight
from, uh, from the Pro-Am?
Yeah.
Roger, we saw Roger, Roger, he dusted us.
Roger played nice.
Uh, Roger drove the green on 18. It was like 390, it
was like 406, based on the plate. But I think as the crow flies, it was like 370. And he
put it to six feet. And then made the putt. It was one of the best golf shots I've ever seen pro over amateur.
I can't even really fathom that because Neil hits the ball a long ways.
And then I saw in your story or your story or something like that, he's like 14 par five. He I think it was playing like 620 for us in the program. He had 193 in and then he hit it, you know, he hit it into the into the hospitality in the back into TIO. Whereas Neil had 237 in he hit seven wood. He flew it. He bounced it over like over the top of hospitality off the roof, and then refused to take TIO relief and hit a flop. who
that there. Yeah, it was cool. So and then actually, yeah, Cody, we were on the way to, it's funny,
we're in the shuttle, we're in one of the courtesy cars this morning on the way to the
course, I got an X7 and somebody driving by took a video of us driving by and tagged Roger
in it on Instagram and was like, yo, I think I just passed you on the highway.
Yo, I've been talking about this for years, man.
Got to look out for our guys out there.
Security threat.
And allegedly there's one, there's one, you know,
so BMW does a great thing.
They give all the caddies cars this week as well.
A lot of caddies cars this week.
And there's one car in the caddy lot, which is like the biggest
scratch down the side of it.
So I'm trying to do some investigative journalism.
Yeah.
TC.
TC reports.
I love that.
Streets talking buddy.
Well, good.
Is your, how's your tummy doing?
You okay?
Sure.
You're just wolfing down milkshakes in there.
No, I have not had a milkshake yet and I don't plan to.
It's the heaviest milkshake in the world.
I'm going to wait till Saturday or Sunday.
The altitude got me a little bit.
Me and Neil on Wednesday, altitude got us a little bit.
But no, it's been a great week and just it's like
the 50 man field is both weird, but it's also they're going off in twosomes and they can
kind of, it's not the best pace of play out there, but there's no like log jams either.
It's just kind of, and I think some of the caddies have been using the,
the carry bags as well, which has been props to the player. Like Tommy,
Tommy put the carry bag in play and Fino was like, thank you. Thank you. My man.
But that's awesome when they looking ahead.
Yeah. So no, it's been great setup.
The media center is right on the range as well.
Like so you can kind of look right over there and they got the lounge there right behind
the range.
So Evan Scholar's stuff.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I love this tournament.
Western Golf Association just does a first class job.
TC, I got one question for you.
Did you make it to Softa last night or where did you eat dinner? I'm going to Safda tonight. Yeah. So we've met up with our cousin last night. Otherwise,
I'm actually, Randy, there's a restaurant, I think it's Mike's place, there's a restaurant
called Shanahan's. I think it's a steakhouse. It's not Kyle's place.
It's attached to the hotel. So I'm going to go pay my respects, I think, one of these nights there as well. So, well, good.
Um, well, anything else TC from, uh, from the BMW?
Actually, one other thing I wanted to shout out.
I'm a huge map guy.
I love maps and, uh, they did a, like a, I tweeted it.
This was so cool.
They did a trail map. That kind
of so like the like the range is up there at the top. And that's
that's kind of like the little bunny hill up there. It looks
like a ski trail map. Yeah, it's the actual routing. And it's so
cool. And like, you know, so it's basically, you know, it's
like, all right, like, this is the lift here. This is, you
know, kind of a so and then actually, Randy, I know, it's like, all right, like, this is the lift here. This is, you know, kind of a,
so, and then actually, Randy, I know you're a big, big Luke Bryan fan. Of course. Yeah. I celebrate his entire catalog. Luke Bryan, he played a concert Tuesday night, and I think he lost his
voice prior. And so it was, it was tough. I felt bad for him and props to him for, for soldiering through it.
But man, it was, you know, he was, he was struggling a little bit.
Well, that's, that's awesome.
Um, I'm glad you're having a good time in Denver.
I know you're out there with, uh, with Neil and, uh, I believe Ben and Casey
are also out there, you guys are doing an event at Colorado golf club on Monday
at the conclusion of the BMW championship. But Sunday night we'll be back with a, uh, we're actually going to
have something new for us at least.
Cody Jordan and I are going to go live at the conclusion of the women's open
here and then later in the day, TC and Neil and I assume Solly and whomever
are going to go live at the Codyver are going to go live at the conclusion of the
BMW championship.
So be sure to check that out.
Thank you everybody for watching and listening.
The golf this weekend is going to be incredible.
Listen to us, tune in, open radio, watch on television and then when the women are done,
flip on over, watch the BMW championship.
It's one of the better weekends,
definitely for the rest of the year
and maybe even all year.
So TC, enjoy Denver, tell all my people hello
and we're gonna go get some food
and maybe run into a pint even tonight here in St. Andrews.
Love that.
All right, buddy, we'll see you.
See you guys.
Cheers.
