Music Better than most!
Expect anything different?
Ladies and gentlemen, night night. It is Saturday night. There's no college football and you are here with us live on the No Laying Up Live show presented by High Noon talking about young Tom Kim. Solly here with my guy TC. He's back.
Hello, Mr. TC.
Hey Solly, you know, quick trip up to Montreal
back in the saddle to talk some TikTok Tom tonight.
Just getting some passport stamps up there
across the border.
Here's the tea about High Noon's all new vodka iced tea.
It's made with real vodka, real iced tea,
no added sugar, no carbonation.
If you are a hard tea lover who is done with the sugary based,
sugary malt based teas, you are going to love
the new high noon vodka iced tea.
You know the deal, 90 calories.
It's great for any occasion under the sun.
It comes in four delicious flavors you gotta try.
We got original, peach, lemon, and raspberry.
I saved one original for tonight's show.
I knew we had one more high noon ice tea night on tap for us.
You can visit high noonspirits.com to find a pack near you.
High noon, sun's up.
We got some juice TC.
We do not have a closed president's cup anymore,
but you have to tell me you had fun this afternoon.
You have to tell me that.
It was a great afternoon.
I had a blast and you know,
NBC didn't manage to get in the way. The golf was
good. The golf was not good this morning. We'll get to that. Golf was good except for Taylor
Pendreth this afternoon and maybe Brian Harmon. We may have some tea as well, courtesy of Tom Kim
and some accusations of players on the international side getting potentially cursed out allegedly
by people this morning on the US side.
And I guess Scottie's wife got heckled
and Ted Scott was trying to throw hands.
So all sorts of good stuff going on.
So much you just don't do that going on here this afternoon.
We're gonna actually start with the afternoon and that finished and we'll get back kind of work backwards into the morning.
But the highlight of course was PC as he's now known and Xander against Siwoo Kim and Tom Kim a rematch from Quail Hollow.
It was an absolute electric factory from the beginning. Just made putt on top of made putt.
The Americans made young Tom putt,
some putt from two feet, five inches on the seventh hole.
He did the measurement putter thing, left the hole,
came back and measured again.
I was pretty proud of my tweet on that one,
measured twice putt once.
Against the pat in the hat,
the general contractor of all people.
There was more made putt, young Tom Kim rolls in a bomb putt,
Sewu Kim rolls in a bomb putt,
just blood bath back and forth, they get to 16.
Kim, Tom Kim hits it into the bank of the bunker
and they couldn't find the ball.
Xander actually finds the ball,
they get embedded ball relief.
Sewu in the dark steps up and flops one up and holds it,
runs around the green does
the Steph Curry night night which made absolutely no sense but it did not make
it any less entertaining. It was to pull the match to all square they were
still gonna lose very clearly but it was still that I again I have so much
respect for both Tom Kim and Siwoo Kim for like actually bringing the noise and
energy on the international side and being the entertainers of this event because man it would be it could be
very very very sleepy without those two involved. Yeah and I'll say uh listen I don't respect Tom
Kim whatsoever I thought he had antics all day I didn't think it was out of line at all for
for Xander and Cantlet and make him putt that at all. It was two and a half feet. It's late in the day.
Greens are bumpy.
But yeah, and then just we'll get to all
those press conference antics afterwards.
But I'm generally and specifically I'm good on Tom Kim for forever.
And I think Siwoo might be the guy that everybody thinks Tom Kim is.
Siwoo is one of players.
He's been a fucking nails in two
president's cups or three president's cups now. But I want to give a shout out to Pat Cantlay,
president's cup Pat, PCP and Xander. They played great. And listen, it's going to be tough to beat
the Americans when Cantlay, Scheffler, Xander, those guys are going three in one.
And like I missed another guy that went three in one.
Today alone, Scottie, Morikawa, Cantlay, Zander and Burns all went 2-0 today.
They played twice and did not lose a match.
It ended up being a 6-2 day for the US, which did not feel that way with not long to go in the day.
They closed with
a fury Scotty and Henley came back in a furious way we can we can get to some of that but just
challenge like you here Tom Kim's been the third best player in strokes game so far in this event
he's brought totally i'm with it that's fine he's just he's disgraced himself in the process and
act like a total fucking goon and there's a difference between like see who's been fun and
confident and swaggy. And Tom Kim's been corny and thirsty and
try hard.
And explain that to me because they look the exact same when
they're running around.
It's just the way they do it. It's the it's just it's all the
antics. It's getting up in the presser after that was saying
that that that guy's cut cursed you out this morning,
I guess, Windham and Keegan, I'm assuming, cursed him out this morning. But he's not mad about it.
And he doesn't want to talk about it more, but he just brought it up in the presser. And I'm just,
I'm over Tom Kim's whole deal. He's immature. He's 22. Of course, he's immature. That's part
of the deal here. He's been a pro for six years. He needs to go in the military. Cody,
do you think the military would serve him well?
Don't pull me into this. If you're about to make a bold statement about what the military is going
to do to a grown ass man, TC, you hang it out there. Yeah.
Don't pull me in.
I'm saying it'll be good. It'll be good for him. Teach him some discipline and some structure
Teach him some discipline and some structure and some fundamentals in life. And Siwoo's chip-in was awesome. It was awesome. He made some awesome putts today. They gave him that embedded ball
relief very, very quickly before that chip too. So here's my proposal, TC. I think this is the
best way to proceed forward with the President's Cup you play the first four sessions
Okay, but the internationals get to pick one and throw it out like with their worst one
They can throw it out and then you go into singles like how much how fun would this be if there was no 5-0 start
To this tournament the internationals have won
Outside that first day they did something similar in 2022 at Quail Hollow
They were down I think 8-2 to start, but then they won Saturday and Sunday combined.
This would be a really freaking good tournament
if this tournament did not start five oh.
I'm only, I'm kind of, I'm being half serious.
They would never expect that or accept that kind of offer,
but it would make for things
to be a little bit more interesting.
No, it was great.
And just kind of talking about the afternoon
and the morning really, like the end of the morning,
the US just, they had these two flurries, both morning and afternoon that, you know,
it was like, man, like everything was coming up international for an hour plus.
And then all of a sudden it just completely flipped and the US made some putts and, you
know, just things got complicated real quick for the internationals.
Yeah, I mean the American team is a lot more talented like it is kind of was kind of felt
like a matter of time, you know, it still feels like not to make everything about the Ryder Cup,
but it feels like all right, if you're the Americans and you roll this kind of performance out
like against the Europeans like it, that page would be in question right now, like this is no
guarantee you would win. It's just this international team is like seriously,
seriously handicapped when it comes to,
I've never watched Taylor Penderith play
so much fucking golf in my entire life.
Like it's kind of crazy.
It's insulting to watch him play golf.
What they're doing.
We're gonna get to some of the, you know,
the pairings and the decisions that the Canadians made.
We might as well do this live while things are coming out
and we're gonna preview the match.
Let me, let me lead this off to the question here, guys.
Who, if you were the first people up on this board here was
the international team, who would you have leading your squad?
I'd send out who they sent out Jason day.
Okay. Well, I guess we won't play the game.
So the first match is going to be Jason day versus Xander Schauffley.
Uh, thoughts are all just keep flying down the board.
Let's keep going through them and we can we'll preview the matches later once we get through. Perfect. Next up was a Team
USA pick for Sam Burns. They were immediately matched with Tom Kim. Match three is gonna get
feisty. Hideki Matsuyama versus Scottie Scheffler. Match four was Russ Henley, internationals followed up with Sanjay M
and we are on match five right now.
International selected Taylor Pendrith
and then we got PCP on the board.
PCP is gonna carve him up like toys are us
or Bed Bath and Beyond.
I mean, he's gonna sell them off for parts.
He's gonna declare, like it's gonna be dirty.
This is truly the
Treadstone operator that we thought that we had it just you know you get him in
foreign borders that's when he's activated. Didn't even get to 18 on that
match where it's in the dark I mean it is dark it was again of course way
darker than our cameras make it look. Cant lays away after Tom Kim had a
really good shot out of the bunker on the left side of the green. Siwu's got to
look at it there I was I was giving that putt to see who I thought he was truly thought
He was gonna make that putt
Xander hit a really good shot Xander walked after in club twirled
I've never once seen Xander do that in his entire life
He's not that was a that was a pretty pretty vicious club twirl for his standards
It spends almost all the way off the green to the front
But again with everybody watching,
final group on the course,
end of match is Saturday in the dark,
Cantlay pours it right in the fucking middle and goes nuts.
That was the most likable Cantlay's ever been on that putt.
That actually shows some emotion with that one
and whole team going nuts.
Lakava did not get involved regrettably.
That's the only negative about the moment.
Huggins did bring up Lakava this afternoon.
He said every caddy he's
talked to said the Lakava stuff was, I don't know if he said reprehensible or out of line or what,
but I'm glad he was tackling the important issues today. I like this next match Keegan
Bradley versus Steve Wu Kim. Big spot for KVV in that one. That's a very big spot.
Big spot for KVV in that one. That's a very big spot.
I do wish that Pendrieth and the Blow Pig were paired up today or tomorrow. A couple of potential ball speed imposters playing for the crown there. And then I think that Tom Kim Sam Burns match is
going to get really, really feisty. Like Sam Burns was one of the few American guys
actually letting the crowd have it a little bit today.
And I would have loved to have seen Tom Kim
against the Pat in the Hat though.
Yep, Corey Connors is gonna play Tony Finau
in the seventh match and then the blow pig is put up.
So on the US side, they are Brian Harmon,
Max Holman, Sahit Tagala,
a few of the guys that have not played very much
will be among the final four matches.
And Morikawa is still sitting out there as well.
I wonder why Morikawa hasn't gone just quite yet.
But there are-
You know, Connors is a,
if you're not a good putter, don't watch that.
Don't watch that match.
There are seven international team members
around Mike
Weir trying to make these decisions. So many voices.
That's way too much.
Shigekin back there writing children's books.
He's a go-ad.
Totally.
Okay, so going through the matches this afternoon in a
little bit more detail. Sung J and Hideki got three up on
Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley.
It looked extremely shaky,
especially for Scotty.
He was just bleeding out on the greens.
Could not make a thing and
they absolutely flipped everything.
They birdied the 6th hole,
birdied the 7th hole,
birdied 9, birdied 12,
birdied 14, birdied 15,
made par on 16 to storm back
and win the match three up.
They won five holes out of the seven holes. They played on the back nine. birdied 15, made par on 16 to storm back and win the match three up.
They won five holes out of the seven holes they played on the back nine.
Hideki and Matsuya or Hideki and Sung J ran out of ran out of gas on the back nine.
They shut three under on the front but only.
Henley's a dog man.
Henley's a stud and he needs he's a glue guy.
He needs to be on more of these teams.
He had a very nice afternoon foursomes.
He was the second best player in all of the matches
this afternoon behind Pat in the hat.
And yeah, it's a nice fit.
It ended up being a nice fit.
I was, I had a question marks around, you know,
Scotty kind of for the most part,
I don't know how Scotty went two and O today really,
cause he had a pretty rough day in both matches.
I mean, in the four ball match this morning, it was who were they playing against?
Sorry, he played with Colin Morkawa.
They won two and one over Adam Scott and
Taylor Pendroth with a lot of help from Taylor Pendroth in that one.
Scottie did not play great in that one, but they're an interesting team.
I like them obviously a little bit more than I like him and burns playing together
And I wonder if that's gonna be a team then
Scotty's force him pairing for for Beth page
So let's game this out a little bit because we've got we got Wyndham versus Min Wu. No, who hasn't played
Didn't play today, which we can get into that
Yeah
We've got a head on though been on didn't play. Yes, which yeah, we can get into that. Yeah. We've got Sahith.
Ben on though. Ben on didn't play either.
Yeah, we can get into that one too.
We got Sahith versus Ben on.
Then it feels like in the third to last match here,
Furik is kind of using
Colin Morikawa as his firewall.
It's Adam Scott stopper. That's who he's got.
Yeah.
This is not good for the pro, just not a bad squad.
Yeah, Harmon and Homa, two last guys on the board there,
and Bez and Mackenzie Hughes,
two last guys on the board for the Canadians.
Los Canadians.
Tough.
Equipe International.
Tough draw for Max, only playing two fours in some matches
with Brian Harmon, who is the lowest rated strokes game player
of the 24 players in this event so far.
Max is positive, two point four shots in only two matches,
which is good enough to be the sixth best player of everyone
and not having played nearly as many matches as the others.
If he'd have kept that pace up, he'd be the second best player on
in the entire event and the best player on the US side.
It's a tough, tough O and two for him, but I don't.
It's so funny to watch Furek
just like kind of make these decisions on own.
He's got Snedeker right there
and he's got StuSync hanging over his shoulder.
And then you've got like nine guys around the,
they've got the analytics guy in there,
they got Trevor and we're there.
They got the whole brain trust in there. They got Trevor and we're there. They got they got the whole brain
trust in there. As far as the data. We got Bez versus Harmon.
And we got the pro versus Mackenzie Hughes. Yeah, in the
that's that's gonna be tough one for my low Bizzet and hoping
the low international score that I know Patty is tracking very
closely because he gets he draws Brian Harmon in that one. So
first matches off at
1202 tomorrow Let's give a shout out to our friends at Mizzouho Mizzouho is a part of Mizzouho financial group the 15th largest bank in the world

They advise and fund businesses looking to go public raise money expand operations or connect with large investors
They also help finance large infrastructure projects
that promote civic improvement.
You likely-
You know I like that.
You know that's a big thing in TC's block in his plan.
They need to finance a new bridge to get to this island.
Actually heard from some family friends
that were having a horrible time this week,
tried to get to it from this event.
But while you may not know the name of ZUHO,
you likely know many of the name brand companies
they have helped or the projects they've funded.
They're the title sponsor of the Mizzouho Americas Open, two years running at Liberty

They're doing some great things in golf, specifically in the women's game.
They support a lot of our LPGA content as well, a lot of our live show content.
So big shout to Mizzouho.

We'll make some picks for some of these matches a little bit later on.
Anything else on the Sung Jay Hideki Scheffler Henley match from this afternoon?
Can I just say this?
I mean, two over par from that lead team going out.
They didn't rest.
Everyone on the international side that played today
played 36 holes.
And man, it just seemed like there was something wrong
with that formula.
I, it was hard to argue with the foursomes groups
they sent out this afternoon, like, you know,
especially with the success they had on yesterday
in foursomes, but that might mean errors made
within the four ball.
I just don't know if you need to go that hard.
That's what I tweeted earlier was like, all the foursomes groups made sense. It
was the four ball groups this morning that didn't didn't make
sense. Like I think pairing Corey Connors and Mackenzie
Hughes. You know, I just don't. I don't love that and sending
him out second. I don't know that that one just felt like.
Kind of a whiff and then you've got you've got Bez, which I'm fine with Bez being on the bench like that. I don't know that that one just felt like kind of a whiff. And then
you've got you've got Bez, which I'm fine with Bez being on the bench. Like, let's just go back to
this morning. I'm fine with Bez being on the bench. I think like Ben on is a good golfer.
Like Ben on is good. And the fact that he didn't play at all today to me is insane. The fact that
Jason Day didn't play today is fucking nuts. And it sounded
like these guys knew that they weren't going to play all day. Like we had everything decided before
they sent them off this morning that, hey, I'm going to send the same eight guys out. It wasn't
like some rash decision. And I guess it's trying to catch lightning in a bottle off of what happened
yesterday. And they must have felt really, really strongly about the analytics and that there was a big
enough gap between those guys, those pairings versus the alternatives.
But man, it's like, it's kind of a, and it just feels a little bit Homerish with the
Canadians too, right?
Pendrith, he was fucking 0 and 4 at Quill Hollow. He was dog shit today, all day. I mean,
played well in the four ball earlier this week, but just like no business being out there today.
And then Corey Connors, Mackenzie Hughes, I just don't love that pairing. And you've got a Cam Davis that's left at home. You've got Jason Day and you've got
Ben on. And I'm fine with like, Minwoo didn't look great yesterday, Bez struggles off the tee
and struggled with the pottery yesterday. I'm fine sitting with him. But Ben on and Jason Day
sitting all day doesn't make any fucking sense whatsoever.
Day is the one that's the one jumping off the page of like,
man, you kind of got to go down swinging
with some of your big name dudes.
And I know Jason Day is not Jason Day of 2016,
but like, you just, I don't know.
It seems like he's embraced this event finally.
Like he wants to be out there.
He wants to put him in a leadership role
in a leadership spot, let him go prove it.
And on top of that, your dogs are going to be exhausted tomorrow too.
Adam Scott had a comment about that after the round, almost of like he was asked kind of about
that. He said something about hopefully, I hope I'm paraphrasing it right, but it was just a
peculiar statement of like, yeah, hopefully the other guys got, were able to get some rest. I'm
pretty tired right now, almost as if he wasn't, didn't want to go play at his age, go play 36
holes today. But I mean, it's one
thing to kind of have a plan. It's another when and look, it
didn't like backfire miserably on this. Pendrith was a part of
the only winning team of the afternoon. But I mean, Pendrith
lost five and a half shots this morning, like truly awful.
And that's malpractice to send him back out this afternoon.
And Hughes was the second worst. And they went back to it. Hughes played well this afternoon.
So it's hard to, you know, it was kind of a, we had a lot of questions about Weir's foursomes
pairings going into Friday and they went 5-0. So it was kind of like, yeah, he kind of,
Tass failed successfully a little bit there for a little while, but it just, they ran out of steam,
man. That was the risk he ran by running that same team back out as that last hour went the exact opposite way they needed.
It's crazy to me that not only did Adam Scott, who I believe
is the oldest guy on the team by far, go out and play 36 holes
today, he played with like an absolute dog, a guy like not a
good dog, like a bad dog that we like that, you know, you're
having conversations about
how much longer he's going to be around. And it really like he carried Taylor Taylor
Penrith around on his back for 36 holes today, or 33 holes or however many they played.
Pinterest miss miss the 17th greed all three times. It's like a wedge or a nine iron.
And then he missed the 18th green with wedge as well.
That would be like, he literally can't hit
like a short club, can't control spin.
Oh, it's some of these shots.
How about the shots into the par three?
The short par three with the wedge.
17.
Oh, that was 17.
Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
Yeah. Sorry. Yeah.
Just, I mean, wiped one, like the shot that he hit this morning into 17, Yeah, 17. Oh, that was 17. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Sorry.
Yeah.
Just, I mean, wiped one, like the shot that he hit this morning into 17 was among the
worst I've ever seen a pro golfer hit in a big moment.
Like just wiped one straight into the water with a wedge in his hand.
And then he, and then that's clearly in his head this afternoon.
He pulls one way left and Scott bails his ass out. It was so frustrating to watch. He did not have it. You could tell Adam Scott was like,
and Pendrith was pretty, he manned up to it in the postgame presser and basically said,
hey, I was bad today. Adam Scott bailed me out. Everything was Adam, Adam, Adam, which it should have been.
That was, and it's one thing if this guy would have been a big name coming in a massive experience
coming in, he was dog shit at coil hollow.
He's in his swing just bothers me.
He's a ball speed imposter.
So what do I mean by that?
He's got a bunch of ball speed and he doesn't know how to play golf.
And his bad is bad.
His top end on, you know, one out of every 20 events, he can go out and contend and win.
But man, when he's not on, he's not on and it's brutal.
It's not top 1000 player in the world bad.
It's hard because weird doesn't have a lot to go with, right?
But it's, I don't mean this in a line.
He shows this guy.
No, no, no, I don't mean that in a line
specifically with Pendrith.
I just mean in general.
And like, again, I keep coming back to how bad,
I mean, basically Hideki's back nine performance today
like ended the President's Cup. Like Hideki's been terrible performance today ended the President's Cup.
Hideki's been terrible.
He had the one good session yesterday,
but the rest has been quite bad.
So you put yourself in this spot by, again,
running this extremely questionable 36-hole plan
with all these guys.
This is the one event, the President's Cup's the one event
you can kind of play around overly fatiguing guys.
And he's gonna be wiped out for tomorrow.
Exactly.
Exactly.
Like, yeah, I don't know.
Hideki had some tough putts this morning.
I think that's kind of, you know, some bad, bad irons,
but the putting kind of let him down this morning.
Yeah. Hideki has been the worst putter in the entire,
in the entire tournament to this point.
I got to calm myself down after the penger stuff.
It really, like that really irked me.
And I think the Canadians should apologize for that.
They should apologize for a variety of things.
It just seems like a lot of those guys
are more interchangeable than they've been treated.
Like Ben on, Taylor Pendrews is not better than Ben on
and definitely not that much better than Ben on
to deserve both of the starts today over Ben, over Ben on. Yeah. It's,
it's, it just feels like total Homer ism from we're like, you know what, we're going to keep
the energy up. We're going to send the Canadian guys out this afternoon. We're going to keep the
energy up. We're going to try to score some quick points early. And it's like, man, like that's,
that's just, it's not it, man. And you're telling me like, I have a lot more trust in Nick Taylor than,
than I do in Taylor Pendrith to hit irons.
I have a lot more trust in Adam Hadwin than I do Taylor Pendrith as well.
Like they're like good iron players, proper players, gritty players.
They can get up and down from places.
I just sucked.
Like that, that put me in a bad mood as an international fan.
An international, you know,
I've got a national pause membership right now.
But like that put me in a bad mood.
It was not good.
Anything else on Pendrith TC or do you wanna?
No, I think we're good there.
I'm gonna stop kicking the dog.
On the Taylor Pendrith Adam Scott batch from this afternoon
They played Max Holma and Brian Harmon. I think we've addressed this already that yeah Harmon Harmon Harmon killed him
He was a second worst this afternoon to only Hideki in that one and let max down yet again
Oh, this could have been this could have been Max and JT playing all shot
over the last couple of days
and would have been a lot more entertaining,
probably would have gone a lot better on the US side.
I didn't get the Harmon pick at the time
and I still don't get it.
And this isn't second guessing,
we said this exactly when this came out of,
you know, and shout to Max, man, he's played good golf.
He was a questionable pick coming in for,
you know, a lot of the same reasons
JT was a questionable pick last year and he's kind of, uh, showing a little more
evidence in there of like the form isn't always necessarily indicative of how
you're going to play in a match play event.
And like, are you picking, he picked the dude and the dude has showed up.
It just is a weird thing that they, you know, if anybody was to flex away
from something today, it was, while this thing was still in question, I don't
know if they needed to send Brian Harmon out.
They sat Sahif all day.
I mean, Sahif played two sessions.
Everybody on the US side played two sessions,
which is not necessarily how the internationals
have approached it, but there was,
I guess I just did not understand
sending Brian Harmon back out there today.
I was glad they switched up their order though,
where Max was playing on the par threes this afternoon.
I think they did that the first time around.
Oh, they did it the first time?
Okay.
I could be wrong.
I thought they switched them up this time versus last time.
I have to double check that.
I don't know if you have that Cody, if you could check.
I know they switched Morikawa this go around.
They had Sawhith and Morikawa flipped,
which just made absolutely no sense to me.
They had Sawhith hitting 13 of the approach shots
and Morikawa hitting 13 of the putts.
And with Morikawa's match with Burns today,
Morikawa and Burns seemed like a great yin and yang
for that specific reason.
Burns' putting lined up with Morikawa's iron play. It's the kind of stuff that man reason burns his putting lined up with more cows iron play
It's the kind of stuff that man like they won one up And you know people kind of get on me for digging in too much into the data and the analytics and all that like you're
Literally trying to move the percentage expectation like two to three percentage points like that's kind of what analytics and data is gonna
That kind of information is gonna give you that's the edge
It can make a difference. If you apply that over 28, 30 matches in these events, like that's where, you know, a lot
of this, a lot of the margins come down to and they lost the first foursomes match and
won this one.
On a course like this, the gap is that big.
Some courses it doesn't really matter that much, but this one just seemed like an obvious
one.
And I'm still curious as to how they ended up messing that one up with
That first match I thought Jim was gonna get pants again and force them
There was a point where they let in no matches this afternoon
I think the internationals were up in two and the US was they were tied in the other ones
And Jim was 2 and 11 in his last in his
road foursomes as captain and but they came storming back and salvaged it. Nobody beats
Yeah, your guy 17 times in a row. Listen, I like I'm a big Brian Harmon fan of him personally and
fan of, you know, his game and grittiness and, you know, he's got a lot of match play experience from
his amateur career as well.
But yeah, it is kind of a bummer
that they paired Max up with him,
both here and Marco Simone.
Like it's, I don't know,
I feel like Max needs another kind of,
like let's try something else, right?
Well, and it's just like, I like Brian Harmon too.
I think he's a really cool dude, great dude to talk to.
I have a ton of respect for his game as well.
It clearly doesn't have it right now.
But it's also like I just I just energy wise, right?
Regardless of it, I just like look at Wyndham Clark's kind of a similar boat
of like when I play a lot better golf outside of his major win than Harman has.
But like, you know, if Harman hadn't won at Royal Liverpool last year,
is he on this team?
Probably not. Right. I mean, it he on this team? Probably not, right?
I mean it yeah, like again, that was a long long time ago. Why are we kind of making team?
This is the old way of doing Jim's old school. He wants to reward guys. That's how we've gotten into this mess in the past
I think is again, it's not gonna play a difference this week
But this is the kind of stuff that like into the Ryder Cups is is gonna matter
I know it's gonna be a different process hopefully it is gonna
be a different process but we'll see on that one. Yeah we can give everybody
grades tomorrow night. Yeah we'll do all that and then the final match this
afternoon Morikawa and Burns were up against Connors and Hughes. Tough bogey
on the 18th again kind of another international team that ran out of
steam but a tough shot from, you know,
Hughes drove it in the right ruffle on 18,
Connors did not get it all the way up there
and Hughes had a pretty poor chip
and ended up missing the putt
and they lose that match one up.
Connors hit some really tough putts all day today.
It was bad.
And it's like that, you know, and he's a guy,
like he's probably, he's not in the same
boat as Pendrith and he was like I think Connors is is a rung above those guys as far as stats
tee to green and just you know overall talent level but yeah he was hooking some putts which
was tough he did not look comfy over those over those eight footers but again just kind of looking
at how Burns and Morakawa zigged and zagged,
like Burns almost gained a full shot off a tee,
Morakawa gained a half shot on the green,
or approaching the greens,
and Burns gained another half shot putting.
Like, and that's kind of the slingshot
that it's gonna be if you get your format right.
And that's again, the exact one
that they got wrong the first way around.
So.
Yeah, Burns looked like he wanted to be out there.
Like he, you know, he was, he was in the mix with the crowd in a good way,
picking his spots, but you know, and not in an annoying way, right?
They, I don't know, it was an impressive, impressive performance from him.
And he's like, he doesn't really do much for me week to week, but I like him in these
team events, I think.
And he seems like a good locker room guy.
And he was keeping guys loose during the fog delay this morning, Kisner was saying.
So good on Sam Burns.
Anything else from this afternoon?
We want to cover some of the morning matches as well.
Yeah, I think otherwise, I'm trying to think anything else this afternoon.
Yeah, I mean, you know, like captains can only do so much guys gonna go out and make
plays right and the big time players on the US side made big time plays.
I can't lay Xander, you know, Scotty didn't have it, but he summoned it when he needed
it and and you know, and good partner there and Henley and. And then, yeah, I don't know, PC man.
PC.
Gotta hand it to him, hats off.
This morning was a little fog delay
to kind of start the day.
There were some matches that started
but then they hit about an hour and 20 minutes or so.
Fog delay which is what put the finish
under the lights at the very end.
Morikawa and Scottie came back to beat Adam Scott and Taylor Pendreth two and one Scotty really stunk it up for most
Of the day had no birdies through 15 holes as the number one player in the world
But did birdie the 16th and 17th holes to clinch it more
Kawa absolutely carried the team with his iron play getting almost two shots with his iron play alone
Again, Pendreth was just epically bad losing 5.41 shots to the to the field
in one round of golf, which is truly epic. One of the that's like and like had the left's going
and like, dude, you can't send him back out in good conscience. We yeah, that we I believe we've
covered the pendra thing. But you're exactly right. This was a very crazy. This is the mic
where I was worried about. This is why I paused my membership, Solly.
I need the general manager fired, okay?
Zander and Finau beat Connors and Hughes.
Zander played very, very, very well this morning.
Everyone else pretty much stunk, but especially Hughes.
He lost 3.7 shots to the field in that match.
And then Corey Connors gave him almost nothing as well.
So they lost that one three and two without Big Tone doing a whole heck of a lot in
that one.
Tom Kim and Sewoo Kim put on a display.
This was some unbelievable call from them.
Two of the best performances anybody put forth in any session were from, I mean,
Tom Kim gained almost five shots this morning in that match in the four ball.
It was incredible. Keegan actually played really well Wyndham did not they just kind of ran into a buzzsaw with that one
Seawoo pulled out one of the many antics that they pulled out in the day
I thought this was gonna be the top antique they pulled out in the day
But he beat it with the night night in the match that they lost but
He definitely has been watching some YouTube and some social media of the old Tiger Woods putt the edit of the Tiger Woods putt against Abe answer
Because he removed his hat
While his putt was on his way to going in to clinch the match
It was way outside the hole which again I celebrate all this stuff. It was great. Yeah, I thought it was great
I thought it was fun. It was it was also tribute to can't lay
From Rome. I think I don't't know, overall, just talking to
various tour pros, both current, former, I was talking to Matt Every. He's been
yelling at me for the last three years that Siwoo is the fucking man. He's like, dude, Siwoo is,
Siwoo is funny. He's really dry and quick on his feet. And he's like, dude, Siwoo is just the dude.
You've talked to guys and they're like, dude, Siwoo is an unbelievable talent. And he probably hasn't put it all together. But man, I think hats off to Siwoo. I loved watching him play golf today and it was a treat.
And Tom Kim played even better than this morning.
And you can handle that bit.
They were awesome.
They were just...
You talk to these same tour pros about Tom Kim and there's just eye rolls.
I'll leave it there.
They saved this event.
Siwoo and Tom Kim saved this event from the international side,
both from entertainment aspect and with their play
over the last couple of days.
So hats off to them on that one.
Again, I still can't believe Tom Kim sat on Friday.
Again, they went five and oh,
it's hard to question that one.
But like this, there's no amount of breaking golf rules
that would offend me in this event or whatever it would be.
Run around, go fucking nuts.
And I think even the US players, yes, go nuts, please.
We need some entertainment value in this whole thing.
And those guys have just brought the energy.
It's not like Tom Kim was saving energy.
He was out there hooting and hollering all day Friday.
And meanwhile, Pendrth has played all four sessions
sorry they sat Tom Kim for Pendreth it's crazy you believe that shit they did win the match they
said but Adam Scott dragged his carcass around. Patrick Kale and Sam Burns beat Sung J and Hedeke
Sung J has bounced back we called out Sung J pretty hard after day one he played well but man Hideki was just awful today
it's quite quite regrettable they won that match two and one Cantlay was the
man in that one Burns putted really well didn't do a whole heck of a lot else
other well but Cantlay played the last let's see the last five holes of that
match he played in five under.
Did he seriously?
Yeah, he finished Eagle par birdie birdie birdie.
And then I yeah.
And then I guess 17 or sorry, five elastic holes.
So and yeah, I don't know.
I think Hideki had some weird moments today.
Like I still can't trust him.
Like he pulled that drive into the water
that looked just out of nowhere. Nobody had been in that water all day.
Just missed a couple of approach shots pretty badly that you're like, oh man, that was weird.
I'm just struggling a little bit with this course because I feel like I'm watching the same four
holes over and over and over again. They're just playing four or five holes and they're just doing that on
repeat and it's like a little mini course in there.
Like I have no concept of, of what's going on out there.
I've, I've watched like every shot of this tournament.
I'm pretty sure.
Uh, I, I think it took me until today to realize like 15 and 16 are like different
holes that the same whole water left that cuts out across in the same way
You hit the same shot into both of them
But I think I just like was it because they jump around so freaking much that I don't you kind of lose track of any
Flow of any match and I was like today. I was like, huh, they're hitting this shot again
Oh my god, those are two of the exact same holes on repeat, but I think we could probably save that one
Just some records so far we can go through this rather quickly and we'll
obviously revisit this tomorrow night but the top guys so far, Cantlay three and one, Xander three
and one, Scheffler three and one, Morikawa three and one, Sam Burns is three and oh, Siwoo Kim,
is that right? He's two and one? He's only played three matches? Yeah he sat one that's right.
Siwoo Kim is two and one, Henley two and one. Yeah Pendreth has played all. Yeah, he sat one. That's right Sebo Kim is two and one Henley to Hendricks has played all four. Yeah, see we've sat one
Calling that out Adam Scott two and two Finaw two and one pendrith two and two Tom Kim one and two
Keegan one and one Cory Connors one and three Sung J one and three
Wyndham Clark one and two day one and one Mackenzie Hughes one and two bent on one and three, Wyndham Clark one and two, Day one and one, Mackenzie Hughes one and two,
Ben On one and one, Sahith one and one,
Bezayden Hout one and one, Hideki one and three,
Max Homa oh and two, Minwoo oh and one,
and Brian Harmon oh and two.
It's just like a double, it's like,
it's doubly bad for the internationals
where they got dudes going in absolutely exhausted
and they got dudes going in rusty.
Because they haven't played.
Weir, what the fuck, man?
T.C., can I cook for a second?
Because I'm so excited for this next part.
I've been teasing it, I've been talking about it.
We've left some breadcrumbs along the way.
It's finally time.
We are gonna start talking about the stack.
You can go to the stack system dot com and find code.
No laying up for 10 percent off the stack.
I started doing this.
No lie at all.
Sally's been like just locked in a cage.
That's all he wants to talk about.
It's he loves it.
I I I've been like telling you guys about what I've been doing
and it's an incredible system.
I played with you this week.
And you saw it for the first time
and you are hesitant to give me credit for anything
and you saw it firsthand
and I think you're gonna start the stack.
I know Cody ordered it extremely.
I have no other option.
There's no, I have to.
Otherwise I'm gonna get left in the dust.
They call it a personal trainer for speed.
And man, I've been doing it.
It's incredibly easy to do.
It is fun to do.
DJ is doing it, waiting till you see the gains
he's made in his swing speed.
It's once every three days.
It takes like 30, 35 minutes to do.
I was a little afraid of getting hurt doing this,
but it gives you a great warmup routine.
I've actually improved my flexibility
and my back health in this process.
But I have picked up, I've actually improved my flexibility and my back health in this process, but I have picked up,
I mean, the app is saying I've gained like eight miles
an hour in swing speed alone, you know,
depending on how you measure it, my ball speed
from the last video we posted in May was like 162,
now I'm touching 174, the gains have been immediate,
I cannot say enough great things about how much the app
encouraged you to get out there and do it.
It's super fun.
You don't have to enter the scores in there.
If you buy the stack bundle,
you buy the radar thing with it,
and you make your swing,
and it enters it right into the app,
and it tells you, here is your max swing speed
you've ever made with this one.
It shows your exact progress.
I'm amazed at how well this has worked,
and you guys are gonna see the benefits of it
in the actual videos and
Again, you can go to the stack system comm use code no laying up and you get 10% off it right now
I've had so many people in the DMs asking me where all the speed is coming from
I've people I'm playing with I've ordered it coming up to you with tears in their eyes people I play with her
Just like what was it again? I'm ordering it right now. So one guy I play with ordered it from the actual golf course
It's been that much of a mind-bending I haven't even been playing golf and I just show up
and I'm sending it like 175 miles an hour.
It's ridiculous.
It's so fun.
There was a couple of holes out there.
The sixth hole at Ponte Vigilante club
and then the 12th hole.
And I was like, oh, yeah, that's different.
Like you were very long before or a lot longer than I am and
that's another 15 yards like that's that's crazy yeah so I'm stoked again
the stack system comm code no laying up 10% go do it I I'm excited to make some
videos on this front as well because the gains have been that real in that
serious so I wanted I wanted to hate it. It's hard.
It's hard to hate TC.
The app is built to like get you hooked.
It's a, it's very, very good app.
I'll say this and it doesn't take time.
It reminds you it's, it's actually very, very fun.
And sorry, I was kind of with you too.
I didn't want to get hurt.
I will say this about the code.
So the code is active now for everybody that's listening in the United States of America. If you are
an international listener, specifically coming from our European friends right now, give
it a couple days. The code's not quite active yet, but it will be this week. So everybody
please. We're very, very excited about this. It's going to come out in a lot more of our
content, but it actually works, and it's something that,
you don't have to spend a million hours
looking for videos on YouTube.
It's all right there.
It's truly an awesome product.
It sat in my garage for two years, honestly,
because I was intimidated to start it,
and once I started it, it was like,
oh, you don't need weights, you don't need literally anything.
They literally just take the stick out,
mess the weights around,
follow the instructions on there. And like it tells you when your next workout
should be wait till you see where DJ DJ's gains are going to blow your guys
fricking mind. We, we had the altitude setting. I'll check.
He might need to adjust some of that. But anyways, uh, you want to look at some,
uh, get back to some of the matches for tomorrow.
We'll only do a couple of questions and then we'll, we'll get to the the matches again
for tomorrow. Maybe make some fan dual picks for tomorrow as
well. Nothing more. Air Barrett. Why is can't lay such a killer
sometimes in team competitions and never anywhere else?
It's a great question. He might be the rat, right? He might
see the rat tendencies. I'm, man, I like,
it's tough to watch somebody do exactly what they need to do that many instances over a span of three
days and not, it's kind of like a Leona McGuire situation, right? Where like, why is Leona McGuire
not, you know, stacking up wins? It's, you know, with Leona, it's like, she's just not long enough. But match play brings out certain
things in certain people, man. It's like he can drill down on exactly, assessing each little
situation exactly how he needs to and do the right stuff. There's mental acuity there.
do the right stuff and it's there's mental acuity there and I can't believe I'm talking about this like the pat in the hat, but it's it's a
Respect man. Well, I think it's kind of we can I've been guilty of this and I still don't know where I netted on this But like the way he keeps himself at even keel in all of these
Yeah
can make it him look disinterested in it and I I
Know I felt that way after the Ryder Cup
with all the drama that was around that,
but like it's kind of hard to ignore the overall output
that he's been able to put up in these.
And like, I don't, I don't know, something about that,
that yell he let out on 18 Today was kind of like,
oh, this guy fucking cares.
Like it'd be pretty hard not to care
to be involved with these and not care.
He's just a different dude.
You know, I don't think he necessarily comes across likable most of the time. I know.
I don't think he is likable. Yeah. Yeah. And I think, you know, but it's, but it's also
like, you know, Hey, match play wise, like he definitely cares. And it's not that he
doesn't care week to week on the PGA tour. He cares immensely, right? It's just a matter
of this seems to bring out the best in him and he stacks up little wins and all that and then he's
going to go back to the office on Monday and he's going to rack up, he's going to buy a couple
apartment complexes or you know, he's going to renegotiate. He's going to evict a single mother
and her kids. For sure. Hey man, you gotta get those numbers while you can. You guys are right though it seems
like he just looking at him it's like he doesn't care but you can tell like he there's this burning
fire in him. I do think match play in these events like that it's a lot it's easier for him to like
you know everything is just one moment at a time so it's holes, but really it's like one hole and really one stroke at a time.
And I think for him, like,
for day tournaments, it's just a lot,
unless we're at Case Valley
or any of these other TPC properties
that he just like gobbles up.
I don't know, because it's the same thing with Siwoo.
Like, fuck, how awesome would the PGA Tour be
if like Siwoo was acting like this and like winning in buckets and stuff like that
But like the guy can't put and he has a crazy ass temper and and it's just like fuck man
But that stuff's perfect for this event exactly. I
Just I struggle with like
The internationals just don't have any depth so So those last four, four to six guys on the roster.
Damn, it's almost.
And then you look at like, you know, Joaquin, Ham.
Where do you think those guys are at?
Why would that be?
Why would that be?
So, it's tough.
Why would that be?
Yeah, this event was actually trending
in a really good way too.
That's the hard part of that one.
But part of that too was like, it was in, listen, you can like match play golf, match
play golf.
We set it on Wednesday night on the happy hour.
Like it's roll the balls out there.
You're going to get some great moments or whatever.
We should have more of them from the president's cup than we do.
And I still think like it's, we'll talk about it a lot tomorrow night. The PGA tour, putting this event in rural Montreal
is one of the bigger whiffs of the last couple of years.
It's actually a tragedy in our words of Gary Player.
Yeah, it's, we can talk about that tomorrow.
You're right.
Steven G. Jewell, how back is the President's Cup?
Today was kind of the day that I was like warned about.
I warned about every time the President's Cup comes up and like we shit on it is
like dude it really isn't about who wins and loses this one. Like the Ryder Cup
is about who wins and loses but like the US wins this every time but there's
always fun. There's always shit that happens every single time. I thought back
to Siwu. You remember Siwu in 2017 when the US almost won on Saturday, he was shushing people on that Saturday.
Like he's brought-
Irrational confidence.
Yeah.
He's like that DB that you know.
He's like the DB that you like,
cause he gets it done.
And then I feel like Tom Kim is the one,
he's like CJ Gardner Johnson on the Eagles.
That like the whole league just hates.
He's getting suspended for targeting.
Siwoo is the DB when the quarterback
overthrows by 15 yards and gets up, it just does suspended for targeting. See, what was the DB when the quarterback overthrows
by 15 yards and gets up and just does the huge,
you know, the huge lockdown motion, all that, but.
I feel like we need, we do need at some point,
I know this was kind of like a Eurasia Cup thing,
which RIP, we need the internationals to go over
and play in the UK or play in Europe.
And somebody needs to set that up.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Maybe we do it.
Maybe it's some sort of we shot the minor league, Europe team out or something like that.
But I need Tom Kim over there playing in front of the crust, English journalists and Scottish journalists. They shouldn't then.
Or they could do it in the winter at just that in Australia every time.
Like that, you know, that seems to be the only spot in the calendar that might work.
If you World Tour stands that up and says, hey, we have we have an international
competition to and Tristan Lawrence, you're invited.
Tristan Lawrence, but Tristan.
Sorry, thirsty, thirsty, whatever.
Fun, fun, underscore human is the night night celebration dead
now that Siwa did it and lost.
Yeah, yeah, I mean, it's fine.
I was fine. It was stupid, but it was fun.
It I don't know.
I feel like Pat them appreciated that, honestly.
I think they felt like, fuck, yeah, you got it.
You better bring something here. I think. I think they love everything about it. The only weird thing really outside of,
that sticks out today, I still don't really understand what Tom Kim's talking about.
Like somebody's, who's giving him profanities? It's got to be Wyndham and Keegan, I think.
And look, he speaks perfect English, but I think he would, if I was to guess on the situation,
he's confusing cursing at him versus cursing in the match.
As I understand it,
nobody said fuck you, Tom.
There was some other gamesmanship going on.
He said it wasn't sporting.
There was some other stuff going on as well.
I know there was some other stuff that went on Thursday
with Scottie and the other guys.
So I don't know, we'll see.
Maybe he's just got fucking rabbit ears too.
And he takes everything personally and he's immature.
You know?
That sounds more likely than like
the Americans getting off the bus
and being unsportsman to the team they beat
10 straight years, 20 straight years.
Like it just, I don't know.
Everybody's way too sensitive about some of this stuff.
It's like the team that,
it's like the team that, you know, you pay to come in
for like an out of conference, you know, Patsy game,
and like, you're not gonna get into a fight
with those guys, you know?
I bet Notre Dame wanted to.
NIU, yeah.
T Putnam 04 comments on Scotty's putting woes
the first part of this afternoon.
Speed like viewers auto grimacing when NBC put him on TV with a short putt.
It was a little reminiscent, but you just not keeping that guy down for long.
And he battled back, bounced back and I'm trying to think,
I don't know if those two missed a shot from the sixth hole on.
Like some here and there in the rough or whatnot, but they did not blink for one second
once they got their backs up against the wall.
I just feel like we're watching the same ship
over and over again too.
Which I guess it's-
Yeah, let's go ahead and-
There's like something there, I guess it's like,
it almost adds to the drama, but at some point
it feels a little bit cotton candy-ish.
Yeah, I think we're doing our absolute best
not to shit on this golf course on a nightly basis.
It's bad, it's extremely, just extremely dull.
Shame on PGA Tour Championship management,
shame on you guys.
Just like the thick rough immediately off the green,
the oval greens, the dull bunker shapes,
the dull greens in general, like it just,
it doesn't provoke any kind of serious strategy
or thought into it.
There's one hole that has short grass around it
and it's not even like sloped over there.
The 12th, the par five, like it's not like a severe slope,
but that I don't know why they have that there
compared to the rest of the golf course.
It's kind of shocking.
Like Zander's shot on 18,
like he absolutely ripped that wedge back.
There's no reason why that ball should have stopped there.
No.
Yeah, and Pender did that a few times
because he's unable to control his spin.
They weren't even false fronts
and he's ripping them off the front.
Fucking cow.
At least, like again, like we said in the beginning,
it's more about the atmosphere.
The atmosphere has been there the last two days. Man, the crowds have shown up, they've brought a
lot of it's been there. They've been loud. They've been you
know, but but again, like it almost didn't even get there
because they were so flat on Thursday. And listen, I'm not
going to give them that much credit like they're lining each
hole or four four groups out there at a time. They're lining
each hole and you look at the overhead shots,
there's not that many people out there.
Like there were not.
There's a lot of people out there.
This is not a sea of people, trust me.
It's not, it's not solid.
There's a lot of people out there.
I don't know about that, but you know.
Please don't.
You sound like DT talking about National Mall.
No one was leaving early, TC see none of these people are leaving early
I'm wait. Yeah, I'm waiting here for some if we get some singles odds out here
We have some Fandel picks to make I don't think we have any as of yet
So listen, I'm gonna go out on a limb here with my Fandel pick for the night
I like the US at 16 at minus 1600 tomorrow TC. I'm willing to lay down 1600 bucks to win 100 tomorrow.
So how many of these matches, how many points does the they would need to get eight and a half of the 12?
That's right. You have 15 and a half to win. Yeah, correct.
So it's the same as 10-6. It's the same as Brookline comeback in the Ryder Cup
and Medina. That's exactly where it sits as of right now.
So I'm gonna tell you right now, I don't have a feeling.
I don't have a feeling.
All right, well, how about this?
You guys, you made your early week selections.
What do you think the final score is gonna be?
I'm sticking with mine 17-13.
I think that- I called for a tie.
I'll say- Which time? Cause you then called for a tie. I'll say time,
cause you then called for a win and then no.
And then I went back to the tie.
OK, so yeah. Yeah, I'll say let's see here.
I think the internationals,
which you guys didn't give me props
the other night too for US winning session
two or the the the the internationals winning session two.
You bailed on it. No, you bailed on that call. Yeah, I don't know. It was PC. You were you had
you also didn't read us in on this bit of you flying to Montreal but not really flying to
Montreal then calling in just eat popsicles from your porch. That's like we're here to support you
and amplify it. But if you don't get us involved then we can't help you.
Your literal most recent call on Thursday night
was that the internationals would not win
the second session.
So you abandoned that call.
That's why you did not get props for that.
But that was my parlay.
That was my final play of the week.
The parlay lost otherwise.
Yeah, cause I got a bad beat on the Cowboys
cause Dax stinks and Vanillevic was feeding. Anyway, back to the question at hand, I'm going
to go I think the internationals get it to 13. I think it's a tie
tomorrow. 17 was that 1713.
That's right. Yeah. Which after day one, the international the
US was like minus 190 to win by seven points or more. So the
internationals have have fought back and made it somewhat interesting compared to that first
day they've got it. But I mean, like we're, I mean, so overnight, so at the end of the
day yesterday, the US but per data golf's odds were 59.6% chance to win internationals
31% chance to win and remember in the President's Cup if you tie you tie there's no retaining of the cup for some reason in this event
At one point this morning as of like 10 10 a.m
International's got up to 39% in the u.s. Down to 51% to win like they had a decent start to the morning and it looked like
It was gonna
You know, but and then so at 6 15 p.m
the u.s. Was only 63% to win,
and the internationals were 25.
And the day ends with the internationals at five
and the US at 90.
Like that's how bad the last hour went in their way.
Yeah.
Which a couple of things real quick
before we get to the individual matchups.
Cody, do you have the graphic of them calling the entirety of Korea,
the Republic of Korea? That was tough. Of course. And they've done this three days in a row now,
and they actually did it during the Seoul High, or during the, I've seen them do it during
a LPGA event as well. You've got Ben On, SungJaeM,owoo Kim, Tom Kim, all from Korea, South Korea.
Low Kimmy can't be happy with this, calling the entire Korean peninsula
the Republic of Korea. That's not good, guys. I would think the South Koreans wouldn't be the
most unhappy with considering this entire peninsula to be the Republic of Korea.
But yeah, that's that's an unfortunate error to be made.
It's not good. Yeah. And like, listen, Tom Knapp, Tommy Roy, we are like, we need to be better, guys.
We need to be better. We had a lot of playing through, you know, some birdies on playing through.
through, you know, it's some birdies I'm playing through. I did enjoy this one. Wind Ham Clark. Hopefully this this was a
a nice subtle wink wink, instead of an oink oink instead of a,
you know, a true mistake here.
Similar to all the antics. Similar to all the antics. I'm
fine with all the stuff the President's Cup. Give us
content. Give us things to do and talk about and make fun of. Similar to all the antics, I'm fine with all the stuff at the President's Cup. Give us content, give us things to do
and talk about and make fun of here.
Make all the mistakes you want, yeah.
It was crazy, yeah, it's fun when they show the tour,
this is how little we think of your event.
Like they got out of there after the closing putt
within 20 seconds.
I've never seen anything like that.
16 seconds.
I counted it. 16?
Yeah. Really?
I was joking.
I don't know if he was put stopped rolling before they,
they could, they left that broadcast, man.
They were straight into Maria Taylor, Chris Sims.
I know your big Chris Sims guy, Cody down in Texas,
down there, your former QB one down there.
Yeah, of course.
Big 10, like big, you know, big 10 on, on big 10,
Saturday nights on NBC, just, just like big, you know, big 10 on, on, big 10 Saturday nights on NBC, just, just good football,
you know?
I get it.
Set football rules on Saturday weekends.
And they did.
Do you know how stressed they had to be
in that production truck though?
Like them just freaking out.
So like we have football, we have two games.
So we have to get this done.
We have to send it to golf channel.
No, no, no, it's going to kill us if we do.
We can't do it.
We can't do it.
Stay with NBC.
Anything, anything on the calls today? TC mentioned, you know, a couple who would have thought that people
make birdies and during playing through but you know, they're very used to being just a moment ago
call. So they're experts at that. Anything else stuck out to you? Four matches on the course,
we got a lot of just a moment ago.
We're getting a lot of it was amazing that how quickly they sent it to that interview.
Like the probably the most memorable moment of the entire 2024 President's Cup with the
Siwoo Kim chip in and they just crushed the moment and sent it straight to that Warakawa Burns interview,
which was just like, he's dead silent
and nothing was learned.
And they're no fault of Damon's.
Like it's just, there's nothing to be gained there.
Just stick with the moment longer.
Just see, I just, I don't know TV,
but it just feels like you can can some of these interviews.
And when you need a minute to fill, you can go to it
and they don't need to be live.
Maybe they're not for all I know,
but you would think that they would just work them
into better spots.
But I will give credit for this.
When there's big moments, big fun things that happen,
NBC is good at delivering the replays,
the different angles, the slow motion.
It's like the emotion of a moment.
NBC delivers.
That's Tommy Roy's thing.
Yeah.
He probably over invests
in those moments at the expense of everything else. Right. Sure. But like they delivered big on that
Sung Jay chip in man. That was, you know, I love the excited calls of, oh, like that was, that was
just a very real excitement. And I was, I was running around the house with that one. I thought
it was a lot less egregious today than it was the last two days. Yeah. I was honestly, relatively, I mean, they've dumbed me down and beaten me down
with the commercial load that I'm like, that's within my models. And today didn't feel like
it like pissed me off beyond belief. It didn't feel malicious today. It just felt like good
old NBC for two seconds, they switched back to just the score at the bottom instead of
the running matches. And I was freaking out, man man I was about to go ape shit, but they flipped
they must have just had something down the graphics track or something because it came back very quickly, but
I am concerned about tomorrow though. I mean 12, you know 24 balls
12 matches. It's just ratings are gonna be awful
They can't
They're gonna be so far behind. What I know we don't have the odds yet for singles play tomorrow.
T.C. But anything that you're gonna be any matches that you're like, oh, I want this guy over this one.
What do you what do you? Yeah, let's just run through them.
Xander versus day. I think that's a really interesting one.
I think I want to see
something from Jason Day in that one. I want to see you come out pissed. I bet he's pissed that
you didn't play at all today. Right? Come out fired up and set the tone for the day. And you're going
up against Xander, who's probably him and Pat are probably playing the two best, like they're probably the two best guys on the team right now. Scottie's not playing great. So it's mono-mono, like go be
an alpha Jason, you know. I think Sam Burns, Tom Kim, I think that's another good one.
Kind of fighting fire with fire there. I think Tom Kim's going he might he might whip himself into a frenzy and kind of peter out by by the seventh or eighth
hole there. So I could see Burns kind of, you know, almost leaning
into that and wearing him out and then outlasting him. And
then Scotty versus Hideki. Neither guy's playing great
right now. But it's kind of, you know, all right, you kind of
lean on, hey, what do we
deck he's playing bad. Like, let's, let's be Scottie's like in neutral, um,
it's a below average for him, but like, I deck, he's been low key, low key bad.
I think if I'm looking at these nuts, sorry to jump ahead. I,
if I can get a Scotty and can't lay parlay go on for their singles matches,
Scotty over Hideki and can't lay over Pendrith and I can get plus odds on that I'm feeling fantastic about that like that that's my
I don't even you don't even need to print the odds for me on that one that's
my play for tomorrow was pairing up those two that's two points for the US
I'll tell you what a massive massive matches is match for Sung J versus
Henley I think that one if the internationals don't win that one I
think it's there's no there's no hope whatsoever.
Because you got Cantlay next against Pendrith. That's a loss. I don't know. I see what the
internationals are doing. I just don't understand the Pendrith against Cantlay. I guess they're
just saying, hey, we're losing that one and we're going to send him out as a sacrificial lamb and kind of consolidate there.
Is there some sort of a Georgia cup on the line there TC
between that match too, you know, the Atlanta
to Columbus connection, you got wave God on the bag.
That's also a Columbus guy.
Like there's just, there's a lot going on.
Yeah, that's a good point.
Which to your point, TC, it's very tough
if Taylor Pendo is a sacrificial lamb
and he's playing five matches.
That's a tough way of approaching things, I think.
Fucking gross.
I think really if there is something there
with Siwoo and Tom Kim being upset
about something that was said this morning,
Siwoo is playing Keegan as well.
So that one could get weirdly fiery.
It seems like Keegan has kind of matured and stuff, but we'll see what happens there.
And then, yeah, we got Finau Connors.
I'm good on that one.
I think Windom Minwoo, I think I'm mostly good on that one too.
We'll see, like Minwoo, if he comes out and plays really well tomorrow, that looks, you
know, that makes we're look even worse.
I think Ben on versus Sahith, like that's a must win for the internationals.
They have to win that one.
If I could pause in the main thing, I feel, I don't, I feel like he was somewhat justified
sitting Minwoo out for quite some time.
He was awful on Thursday. Didn't look like he was ready justified sitting Minwu out for quite some time. He was awful on Thursday,
didn't look like he was ready for the moment. Granted again, they're not deep enough to justify
some of these.
And his analytics must look really shitty as well, right? Of like even before that. But man,
it's also tough when like you're sitting a guy for the next three sessions and then sending him out
in singles and his point in singles is just as important.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Curious to see what happens with Sahe tomorrow.
I think if Ben on plays well tomorrow, that's more of a second guesser for Weir, right?
Adam Scott versus Morikawa, that's just good golf.
That's going to be a great match.
I could see things kind of ending with that one.
Harmon versus Bez, that's kind of the, they can simulcast that one over on the cock.
I think we're good there.
And then the pro versus Mackenzie Hughes.
You know, actually I think that's a pretty good match.
That should be fun.
TC, that comment would assume that there was any coverage of the President's Cup on the
cock. Like they're not even sim the President's Cup on the cock.
They're not even simulcasting the broadcast on the cock.
Which yeah, if you cut the cord, how are you,
I got a lot of messages from people
watching on the app this week.
I assume they meant the NBC app.
And they were just getting,
when you go to playing through on that,
you don't get to watch any of the golf.
So I got a lot of people that were quite upset about that,
but I would say welcome to Golf on NBC to that one.
Yeah, there's just no consistency, right?
Of like, all right, subscribe to Peacock, cool.
Like we're not gonna humor you at all this week
by actually putting it on there.
Well, we haven't talked about the news of the week yet.
Can I, before we move on,
because we'll have a couple,
we need to get to a couple of other things,
but will we have one moment tomorrow tomorrow the moment where we all say?
We might it might it might that happens every time no matter what in singles in some way
Will we have that moment you think tomorrow at some point? Oh
It depends on how hard you want to talk yourself into it. I think we'll have one of like, ooh.
I mean, I always talk myself into it.
Sure.
Yeah.
Yeah, like there's a sea of yellow, right?
I do think there's some,
one thing they've got up on the,
on the Fandula app right now that for tomorrow
is top score.
Okay.
Live odds for top score.
You've got-
Just to issue a correction as well.
We have people in the comments saying they were able to watch it today on the cock. The last two days you were not able to,
to my what I bet that's because it was on NBC all day today. And that other way it was cable only
the last two days. Apologies for the correcting the record. So you've got Scotty is plus 280,
Scottie is plus 280, Cantlay plus 300, Xander plus 300,
Morikawa and Burns plus 430. Which of those are you picking for top score?
Morikawa's plus 430 to be top score.
We got all the dead heat involved in that one as well.
Exactly, exactly.
Cantlay, give me, I mean Cantlay's playing pending.
That's where I'm going too.
Yeah. Cantlay's got winnings. That's where I'm going to. Yeah.
Can't lose that one should be like minus odds.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm loving that one.
So I we haven't talked blockies hole in one last night.
I know I had a feeling you were gonna go with that.
Yep.
We I missed that one.
Sorry.
I don't have anything to add but I was very excited for you.
Mostly.
Yeah. In the presence of the that one. Sorry. I don't have anything to add, but I was very excited for you. Mostly. Yeah. In the presence of the great one, Wayne Gretzky.
Everybody saw it go in. It was it was it was rock as celebration.
So congrats to Blocky.
Glad they brought him in this week.
And then, gosh, anything else as far as kind of news and notes?
We have the Spanish open.
We'll be wrapping up tomorrow.
Angel Hidalgo leads Ram and David Pooch.
Both shot 65 day to close the gap.
P five shots back.
T4 Tommy is nine.
We got Dottie Ardina and I play.
I saw I put all that in there and you read every bit of it.
Tommy's T9 eight back and tied with Big Tech's Jimmy Walker.
Sorry.
Big Tech's Jimmy Walker's playing an odd amount of DP World Tour events.
Played the Irish Open.
Oh, he got the invite.
Yeah, yeah.
I think at the Irish Open, the sponsors invited him over there and then he played really well.
So he just kind of turned it over to this week. And then, yeah, obviously we had the hurricane rolled through Panhandle up through Georgia and
then, you know, devastation up in the North Carolina mountains over to East Tennessee as well.
So thinking of everybody up there, in much less important news, some significant damage at Augusta National, which you know, there was a
drone flyover of Magnolia Lane today, a lot of trees down there. And then I don't know, not,
not ready to report on it yet. But it sounds like the tributary to big play raise Creek was, was
doing some bad shit back there in the corner. So yeah, I think yeah, it sounds like we'll maybe hear about some more of that in the
future. But yeah, just you can picture it's not too hard. You saw the videos of
Rays Creek outside of the gates of Augusta. You can imagine kind of probably
what happened inside the gates, but we will wait and see. Eureka Earth, get that
plane up there and let us know what you think. Is it gonna plane or a satellite. I thought it was a satellite. I think it's a plane. Is it? Yeah.
It's a plane. Yeah. LPGA Dottie, Ardina and Ashley Buhay are out in front. Ten players within
two shots of them including Gino Titicun and Nasa Hataoka. if you are really wanting to watch a lot of golf
tomorrow with NFL coming back so noon tomorrow start and yeah we're gonna
watch some singles and that will be the end of our lives your last live show of
the year tomorrow thanks to our fans at high noon we have done I think 60
something of them this year it's been a lot of fun greatly greatly appreciate
everyone that tunes in live to these,
especially while there's important football games being played right now, almost 2000 chat right now. It's fantastic.
Honestly, it might not be an important football game after halftime.
It's 28.
Sorry. Great, great work on the ones and twos.
Thanks everybody for tuning in and listen, I'll, I'll,
I will cook up some sort of like four way parlay across various matches. You know, the patent
hat against pendra is going to be in there, we're just going to
try to kind of stack some
I love picking every singles match and doing like a $1 $1
parlay on every team event. It's so fun. So alright, thank you
everyone for tuning in. We'll see you back here tomorrow
night. We'll wrap up the 2024 President's Cup. We might talk a little Ryder Cup preview. That's also a comments in there. Howie Howitzer asked to do 15 minutes on a Ryder Cup preview tomorrow night. We might we might do that. So tune in and check it out. So thanks, everyone for tuning in. See you back here tomorrow. Cheers.
Crack on.
