Be the right club. Be the right club today.
That's better than most.
How about the end? That is better than most.
Better than most.
Expect anything different? Better than most.
Expect anything different. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the No Lang Up podcast.
My name is DJ from an ice cold Milwaukee, Wisconsin, joined by the two Florida boys,
TC and Solid Tron.
Welcome back from the Southern Hemisphere, my man.
Thank you. Thank you. Good to be back.
It's going to be really cold here in Florida this week, like potential ice little bit more of a little bit more of a little bit more of a little bit more of a little bit more of a

I made it out once this weekend,
but I did pull up the phone today
to see that Milwaukee three degrees today
with a high of one on Tuesday and a low of negative 11 is,
for our Celsius friends, that's very cold.
Yeah, that it is.
I don't even know how to describe that.
You know, I was thinking that,
I always get the like, Oh my God, how
could you live there? It's just so cold. And I'm like, that's
really not that bad. There's about 10 days a year that
you're just like, man, this is this is tough. I don't know if
we can do this. We're just we're in the thick of that right
now. So listen, I'll be I'll be thinking about you guys in
July. We got we got a lot of golf to talk about. We're going
to talk about the AMX. We're going to talk a little Dubai
Desert Classic. We're talking a little corn fairy. We got a friend of the program winning
over there. TC is going to debrief from his Argentina
trip a little bit. We got we got all kinds of stuff, but
before we get there, we're going to get a word in from our
friends at Titleist. We are now less than a week away from the
new 2025 Pro V1 and Pro V1X golf balls landing in golf
shops worldwide. This Saturday, the 25th may have seen a couple boxes show up on
my front step. Can't wait to pop those open. See what's in
there. It's a good time to remind you folks. The golf ball
has to do everything. It is not just about maximizing one area.
Golfers needed performance on every single shot. Has to be
long off the tee, has to fly straight into the wind, and it has to stop on the green. It has to feel good single shot has to be long off the tee has to fly straight into the wind and it has to stop
on the green. It has to feel good. It has to be durable. It
has to do everything. This is why Titleist has more than 75
Associates clocking into golf ball R&D every day to create
products that deliver performance throughout the bag.
I had a great visual reading that line. 75 Engineers
Associates just clocking it every day trying
to make the golf ball a little better.
Man, that's good stuff.
Every single model in the title is golf ball lineup is optimized
for distance off the tee.
Of course, you know that.
But during the development process for the 2025 Pro V1 and
Pro V1 X, Titleist engineers were able to realize a speed
gain while unlocking even better iron and wedge performance.
This faster high gradient core technology maintains
low long game spin and increases ball speed while adding spin
on shots into and around the green.
And the result is more speed off the T, more control with
the irons and more spin with the wedges.
All good things.
TC. All good things you love to see.
Head to Titleist.com to learn more and find out which model
is right for you. Gentlemen, Sepp Straka is your
winner at the American Express. It took a painful five hours and
39 minutes to get there, but it is Sepp Straka's third win on
the PGA Tour. He played his first 69 holes of the tournament
without a bogey this week before building a four shot lead and
then bogeying two of his last three holes to win by two over Justin Thomas. A little bit of an oil spill
coming in, but a victory nonetheless. So I'm going to throw this to you. How do you classify
where Sep is these days? Because I feel like he's kind of turned into a bit of a, like, I want to
say an upper tier player on the PGA Tour. He's, he's done a lot of stuff.
He's always doing things. It seems like I'm going to put you, I'm going to flip this back on you guys. Cause upper tiers,
your first, you're going to make me bring step down right off the bat here,
but I'm going to actually make you guys answer some of these questions on this
upper tier can mean a lot of different things.
So I'm going to throw out some names. This is unprepared for either of you,
but however you want to define it, let's say like going forward from now, like who's the, who's the better player, who you take in, like who you're taking to put up better results, more points, whatever it would be here going forward.
All right.
If I'm looking kind of where sep is, is categorized, would you rather have sep or Austin Eckrode?
Sep.
Austin Eckrode.
Would you rather have sep or JT Poston?
Sep. Which you know have Sep or JT Poston? Sep.
Which you know, I hate that, but Sep's a lot heavier than JT.
Disrespectful.
Sep or Cameron Young.
Ooh, that's a kind of a personal one, but I think I might have to go.
Scoreboard doesn't lie, man.
I think I got to go Sep.
Sep's what, 31?
That sounds about right.
Three wins.
He's lost two playoffs.
He's like very close to to having five wins and being a Ryder Cup or it's nuts.
Sep or saw hit to Gala.
This is good.
This is for DJ.
The scoreboard doesn't lie on this one either, man.
I don't know. I'll say Sahith just to keep the wolves at bay
and make sure we have a nice fun night here, but it's close.
It's an interesting exercise because for me,
if you're asking upper tier player,
I don't think Sepp Straka is an upper tier player.
I was trying to classify it, but he's not like.
This is like Jalen Hurts, not an upper tier quarterback.
Do I think he's Scottie Scheffler, John Rahm, Rory McElroy?
No, but he's also not in that fatty middle of the PGA Tour anymore, I guess is what I'm
trying to say.
He's a step above most of the other somewhat anonymous dudes on tour.
And I think this just cements it.
TC, how do you feel about Sep?
I'm trying to come up with more comps.
So Sep is really harsher.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's, he's above average.
Well above average.
That's the, yeah.
I think that's kind of the deal, right?
And what's average?
Average is 70.
I think he's a top 40 player, right?
Yeah.
And I think we're boarding on like top 20.
Coming into this week.
Yeah. Yeah, top 10. Yeah. Yeah. Top
two. So he doesn't hit it far. Like that is going to hold you
back. Like you've won the AMEX, you won Honda, you won the John
deer. Like those, those things have the right term in common.
He was one into in the rider cup. So, uh, you're making me be
this guy. I just thought a little cold water on it. Like I
have a lot of respect for steps game. He's improving. He continues to improve. He's improving this guy. I just thought a little cold water on it. Like I have a lot of respect for steps game.
He's improving.
He continues to improve.
He's improving every year.
I think he's on a stronger like foundation right now than he was when he was on the
Ryder Cup team in 2023.
So I, there's a lot to like about how he's trending all that stuff.
I just, I wouldn't get too carried away, uh, putting them all the way up there.
But I mean, this is a, this was a masterclass performance.
The shot in the 16 was like the most. so spoiler alert where you, we just, uh,
KV and I just recorded 1999 majors. So we watched like John Venvel playing,
of course, the last hole at Carnoostie with a three shot lead. And so I,
I'm watching, uh,
somebody playing with a huge lead through a totally different lens with that
fresh on my mind. And it was totally like a, uh,
his shot to 16 was the only places it can go wrong is if I put a pole into that bunker was one of the weakest golf swings I've ever
seen somebody in the lead make. It was like a punch 40 yards right at the green
ends up leading to a bogey, but there was just very,
he was watching the clips from chairman Mao, uh,
who made a 13 that was making the rounds on Twitter earlier this week.
But, uh, that just made me laugh of like a dude totally in control, but
just knew better than to make the one mistake he couldn't make.
Indeed. For all this praise that I'm lauding on Sep, I or anybody else did not pick him in
our winners draft. Quick update on that one. TC had Nick Dunlap this week. This was our episode
we did before the season started trying to predict the winners of each event. Dunlap finished T34,
TC, apologies, but you will not be getting any points for that. I just, I don't think we had to
stick our necks out enough in this winner's draft. If we had to, if there was more neck sticking,
we would have got to SEP pretty quickly, I feel like, but you're right. It was kind of a,
you know what, there's probably some names on that list, Sully, that people picked instead of SEP.
You know, Cam Young comes to mind. Sahith certainly was on my team.
Kind of answers the question.
That keeps you from getting swept up here
on a Sunday night after a win.
It's also the AMX.
Sure.
Sure.
Thank you, TC.
Well, moving down the board a little bit,
JT finishes solo second, some signs of life from him.
Quietly playing pretty nice, man,
at some somewhat meaningless events.
T2 at the Zozo
third at the hero and then solo second this week TC what are you gonna say?
I was just gonna say to see him compete in a you know dog shit putting contest right
that's got a boat well that's what I was gonna ask are we bullish on piece of shit putting
contest piece of shit puttting contest it looked nice didn't like it looked like in control it
looked a little bit more confident a couple tight twirls in there, like it looked like in control.
It looked a little bit more confident.
A couple of tight twirls in there kind of just looked like a little bit of a different
confidence level from JT and a little bit.
I mean, the whole thing with both him and speed for the last couple of years has just
been like, it just doesn't last 72 holes.
Like they go on these runs and then just make the inexplicable two bogeys in a row or double
bogey and I know it's Amex and there's no defense.
I don't want to get carried away with them to say like,
just kind of met the eye test on that one.
If you'll let me borrow the eye test for a week.
It looked pretty nice.
Oh, I'm powerless this week.
Two of the rounds are without data.
I don't have any breakouts of data.
So I just got to kind of go with the go.
I started looking up stats.
It's just crazy to me
that this course, PGA West used to be like strike fear into these guys.
What happened? What could have possibly happened? I don't know. It's a great question. It's interesting, man. The back nine of a lot of these events continues to be interesting. It continues to be a fun
watch most weeks. But I am watching, we were talking before we fired it up. Some of these
weeks have kind of turned into, they almost feel like watching baseball rehab starts or
something where it's like, ooh, JT, man, all right. But he's about to get called back up
to some big events here and he's showing some form. Like, okay, this could be good for my
team going forward.
And that's a little bit of how this week felt to me.
Even farmers.
I feel like farmers are weak.
I know.
Well, maybe we go there now.
Xander.
Well, real quick, Dej, you skipped over Seth shaving.
Oh, you're right.
You're right.
Which I think, you know, the ball to strike again.
I know.
I put that on the agenda.
Did you have any kind of, you know, did you get word of any hate
coming his way or anyone really treating him, you know, mistreating him, treating him unfairly,
maybe not getting job opportunities that a full headed, you know, man otherwise would have been
offered anything that. Yeah. Maybe our whole conversation at the top would have been.
I was trying to use, I mean, I won't stand for that. You talk to Sally. Sally's got a great head of hair.
It seems like he's maybe projecting on that.
It's working its way back here.
I wouldn't be careful.
What you say about that.
I'm not getting talking to talk to Harmon.
Harmon advised him to shave his head.
And I applaud him for doing it.
Early rather than, you know, don't.
And he didn't get hair plugs like some of these other chuckle heads out there
either.
So he's leaning into it.
He's accepting it.
And it was a big week for us Balds too with the Tommy Fleetwood Bald filter, which we'll
get to later on with the DP World Tour Social.
I did mention the pace up front five hours and 39 minutes. I just,
I don't know. I know we've done this whole conversation a lot, you know, but this is kind
of one of those NFL footballs on just no real stars other than maybe JT to really speak of.
It's just, man, every movie ever made is available to watch whenever you want. You can, you could
pull up any recipe in the history of mankind, go cook yourself something nice. At five hours, 39 minutes,
it just is really tough to picture anybody willingly tuning into something like this.
You know, Sali, I know you're going to say threesomes, split teas, things of that nature.
They could have gone off earlier. I think they went off at eight 40 local time this morning.
They could, they could, you know,
that puts them outside the TV window.
They do that.
Then we're going to be bitching about them,
them playing them without being the TV window.
And DJ, you know,
it's not a serious tournament.
It's not a serious day and can't lay aren't stars.
You're right. You're right.
I take that back.
You know, I, you know,
that's that's fair of you to take exception to that one.
Yeah. I don't know.
If we were to go to the next one,
I think it's going to be a, I think it's going to be a, I You're right. I take that back. You know, I, you know, that's,
that's fair of you to take exception to that one. Yeah, I don't know.
We've had the pace conversation a million times. It's just in a weird way,
like, uh, trying to think you reposted this,
but Joel Beale tweeted something about, uh, the pace and TGL and kind of like,
for everybody who thinks that, you know,
TGL is going to going to port all these new fans into watching the PGA
Tour every Sunday. It's like you're not changing anything about the actual product
In fact, it like kind of seems like it's getting worse
And so that was kind of my takeaway today too is like other than making a couple of those
You know players a little more likeable and a little you know showing some more senses of humor
it's like all TGL is kind of doing for me is like
reinforcing how tough some of this stuff is to watch.
So I don't know if you guys have anything to add there, but.
I'm also at the point, it's kind of the same conversation.
So two things, you mentioned a TC,
but two concentric circles,
if you're on threesomes off both sides,
like you are guaranteed for log jams,
just mathematically guaranteed for log jams.
Not a good thing. I'm gonna Pete D Pete Dye golf course. Yeah, it's
it's 71 guys making the cut in the wintertime 11 minutes spaced
apart. It's a pace of play nightmare. So for every
everyone says speed up like there's just nowhere to go when
you have that many people in the golf course as a traffic issue.
Do I think the pace of play on tour is good? No, I just don't
think you can solve for it without solving for that problem
first. And two, if you're anti any technology
changes, I don't want to hear any more words on pace of play
either, because they stretch every golf course out, everyone's
got to walk farther, the log jams become even more stressed
out, the longer the golf courses get, they just redid the golf
course to make it more difficult because technology is so easy.
So again, the things go hand in hand. And so if you imagine how
bad it would have been, if there was
conditions, conditions and yeah, I mean, they, they have to green speeds on tour
or trending in exactly one direction over the last 30 years, which is not good
for pace of play either.
So it's all connected, all of it's connected and it's not a simple fix at
this point.
Another, uh, another thing that wasn't good for pace of play, William Mao
making a 13 on, on Friday.
Uh, sorry, I, I know this know this one really got you, man.
I feel like this really tickled you.
Did you watch the video?
Of course.
Props to the tour for putting up that video.
This is what's called an octuple bogey, I believe, is the highest score ever recorded
at number 16.
And then to make it worse, not a lot of people flag this.
He also tripled 17, the Island green, which is tough. But then I do want to point this out before
we have any more fun. Made nine birdies the next day, came back and made nine birdies.
So you know, you gotta, you gotta respect that. So I'm putting the graphic up here now.
I mean, it is on the scene in oceans was at 12, where the guys
avoiding the red light doing the dance through the red lights of
the security system. Like that's exactly what this looks like.
I've never seen a shot trust. I thought that when I saw it
floating across Twitter, I thought that somebody made that
up and Photoshopped it because it's just there's just numbers
everywhere like it shows each shot number and then the yardage
traveled like I see on on the screen 45286
all those were all the shots that he hit from the left the
bunker that's left and he hit shots 10 three and seven from
the right side of the green shot went 41 yards 55 yards 58 yards
4138 some of the numbers are covered up they're overlapping
each other so bad you can't even tell how far they actually went
I just I don't know if I've ever seen a meltdown fully like that. Uh, and it's, I have, we have to celebrate. You gotta laugh about it. If you're
William. I mean, that's hilarious. I, I, sorry. My, my mind first went to entrapment with
Catherine Zeta Jones, which she's doing the thing through all the lasers there. Similar
thing. Uh, also I think they should make that bunker deeper. Like there's not enough stuff like that on I 45 hours, 40 minutes,
but reachable par five that that deep bunker is adding to it.
That is adding kind of the players out or like, hey, you know what?
You go in that bunker.
You have to withdraw.
You got to withdraw from the tournament.
If you know, I think if you make more than like a 10, you know,
you get, maybe they, maybe they'd be in the middle, right? Like you could try it, but
like, if you're going to make more than a 10, you're going to get tapped on the shoulder.
Yeah. It's just, I think the highlight of the video for me is when it must've been his
fifth shot that he hit back in there. Or whereas his caddy still raking the bunker for the
first time he was in there and the ball comes back in. It's just really, a good one. I think that's a good one. I think that's a good one. I think that's a good one. I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one.
I think that's a good one. I think that's a good one. I think that's a good one. I think that's a good one. I think that days later or something. That'd be great. I just put this in here just because
in case you guys have any good stories,
what's the highest score you've ever recorded
in competition?
I was thinking about, I think I had a 10
when I was in high school golf.
I don't know if I ever went higher than that.
I can remember a 10.
So we get to play Muirfield Village once a year.
I lived in Dublin, Ohio, five minutes from the course.
We only got to play it once a year in a tournament.
And our family tradition in the tournament, my mom,
my grandparents, they would all go sit on the sixth hole.
Like that was their hole, sit behind the sixth green.
So my mom thought it'd be funny if, or you know, kind of,
I'll go and watch you play the sixth hole.
And I get there and I air mailed the sixth green
over a bunker and you have to chip back towards the water.
I chipped it in the water three times
with her watching and taking photos.
Like not on a phone either, like one of the,
like she brought the camera from home
and she's snapping all these photos of me
as I keep having to drop.
I eventually had to lay up chipped on and made a 10.
Also made a nine on the ninth hole coming in on that one.
So that's my, I think that's the highest point.
10 and a nine in one round.
In a four hole stretch.
That's tough, that's tough. score. 10 and a nine in one round. That's a score. In a four hole stretch. That's tough. That's tough.
Do you see any good ones?
I don't know if it's the highest I ever did.
I mean, shit, the club championship this year at Aaron Hills.
I forget about that.
There were a couple train wrecks there.
The one that comes to mind was,
it was like a, it was a qualifier for our,
like within our team for the state championship at forest
hills and Augusta.
And I was, I think I was the number five or six player at the time, but they were doing
a playoff between five and eight played a great round of golf.
And I think I was a couple up on the next closest guy going into the 18th hole, which
is a short drivable par four with a big bunker in front.
I decided to go for it. It got plugged in the top of the lip and it took me like five
shots to get out. And I think I made a 10 and I, and I missed playing in the state championship
the next day by two or three shots. And I was like telling my coach, I was like, I played
great golf all day. He's like, yeah, but you made an ass in line decision on the last hole.
Like maybe you would do that in the state championship.
Didn't end up mattering.
Chris Kirk shot like 62 and we got boat race.
Was he right or left handed?
State championship.
But, you know, that was that was not one of my finer moments.
All right, TC, we're going to have you go down the leaderboard in a second.
So I want you to start revving the engine on that one.

Always good to see from him. Shot 63 first round and kept it rolling.
Charlie Hoffman. I feel like this was kind of his to win after 36 holes.
Ended up finishing T5, but 69-71 on the weekend to finish minus 20 isn't going to get it done.
Camilo Villegas, T7.
Charlie Hoffman, I can start a little mini tin cup
type of thing brewing there on,
where the late part threes as well.
13, yeah.
Yeah.
I mean Hoffman said, you know, if the weather's good,
I feel like I can win anywhere.
Right?
Which I really appreciate it.
We got some Taylor Moore, some Ben Griffin.
We mentioned Max Grazerman, they were all T7. Which I really appreciate it. We got some Taylor Moore, some Ben Griffin.
We mentioned Max Grazerman.
They were all T7.
Nick Taylor, you guys kind of shocked me that he blew my mind that he's won five times.
Crazy, man.
I know.
You guys were talking about it on the pod last week.
He finished T12 along with my guy, JT Poston, Will Zalla Taurus, Frankie Sappin, the third,
which I wanted to call out.
The tour was breathless about Blades Brown this week.
Breathless.
And it just, you know, all, it's a bad quotes too, like I'm going to school on the PGA Tour.
Well, no, you're not like you're, you're going to get seven sponsor exemptions and you don't
have any status otherwise.
And you don't have any status on the Corn Fairy Tour either.
I don't dislike any status otherwise, and you don't have any status on the Corn Fairy Tour either. I don't dislike-
He's not going to school every day,
but you know, he's going online or something, you know?
He's a star, come on.
For those that don't know,
Blades Brown is a 17 year old who just turned professional
and is getting some spots,
starts sponsor exemptions on the PGA Tour.
Which I'm totally fine with.
Like, you know, bet on yourself, that whole thing.
He walked away from a lot of NIL money to bet on himself on tour and hey, that's admirable.
That said, I think the tour, like Frankie Sappin's a rookie, had a great year on
Corn Fairy Tour last year. A couple of other rookies played well this week. Didn't hear
a word about him on tour socials. I think that sucks. It's like, it kind of devalues,
you know, it's a really good crop coming off of corn fairy
tour this year.
It's a good crop on corn fairy tour as well.
I was watching some of the Bahamas today, but Zappin is going to be a stud this year.
Like he's very well could win.
And they're just allergic to creating any sort of familiarity with some of these young
guys.
And it's so frustrating.
Whereas there were,
just this weekend after he missed the cut, there were probably four or five posts just about
Blades Brown. They're just not catering to serious golfers, to serious fans. So,
it's hard to get that out.
So, it's a good soapbox. Blades Brown is a pretty sick name. It's pretty easy to remember. I got
to maybe give them some side with them on that one.
So I mean, am I off base now?
No, I'm just gonna, I might have to quick out
four to five posts after he missed the cut.
I don't know if that, I don't know if that's the audit.
I see one.
Really the last two days.
I see one.
From Friday afternoon until it was Brett,
there was like a dozen posts about him this week
between Insta and Twitter.
And I will give the tour credit.
They're tweeting less or they're posting less on there, which is a good thing.
They were posting 85, 90 times a day.
It seems like that's calmed down a bit as you can actually follow them again.
But yeah, just, you know, listen,
support the guys that are rookies that graduated from corn fairy tour.
That may not be as sexy as a blades brown
That's all I got to say about that
Starts baby, you know, at least throw some tweets
What else we got Billy Horschel Ricky Keith Mitchell fresh off of his appearance on you pod
Which probably you know historic historic reaction to the Keith Mitchell pod.
So if you have not checked that out, please check it out wherever you get the, get your
podcast. I made the mistake of listening to it like as dinner was cooking in the crock
pot. And I've, I don't know if I've ever been hungrier than I was by the end of that.
I got takeout. Like when we hit record just seems like, Hey, you know, just got here.
It's like a door dash or something. And I was like, okay, cool.
I'll eat after the pod.
It was like two and a half hours of just like a food talk.
I was like, God, this was what a bad decision.
That was a, it was a miss.
Yeah. No, otherwise I don't have a whole lot of,
I would like to bank a little bit of my time
for the DP world tour leaderboard.
That's admirable.
Yeah, absolutely.
All right, moving down TC, we kind of,
we kind of whiffed at this this hinted at this a little bit. No Zander this week at AMX. He was supposed to play but ended up pulling out. Also pulled out for next week at the farmers. His team says it is a medical issue. Also not playing TGL. Sorry for your beloved New York Golf Club. I know that's tough. I'm sure the fans are kind of trying to get some refunds on that one. Also, more kawa and Nikolai Hoygard have wd from next
week at Torrey Pines. Anything I just ask, you know, is live watch back? Is there any
smoke going on? Or is all of this just, just, you know, happenstance?
I would say Nikolai I'm not too, too worried. He played in Dubai and didn't play well
Our guys like just realizing that this starts on Wednesday and just be like, oh wait
Nevermind. Oh god. No, there's a bunch of other hands of Hughes. I saw wd'd
There's somebody else too. There's a bunch of wds already for next week. So I didn't know if something was going on or I
Looked at the weather too for San Diego looks gorgeous
So it's not like you you know, guys are getting out
ahead of a bad week or anything like that. But I have no idea.
I would be I don't even I don't I'm not on Twitter. I'm on
Twitter, maybe 10% as much as I used to be. But I don't even
feel like people are faking like these guys are any of these
guys are going to live, which, you know, usually there's at
least a little bit. I was feeling a little nostalgic when
I when I saw that some of the Xander stuff, you know, it's
like, Ooh,
maybe, maybe live watch might be back. Like that was say what you will.
I mean, at least it was a pretty electric period too.
But do you feel anything now? Like if Xander went to live, I'd be like, okay,
okay, whatever. I was thinking,
I was thinking about the other day where like,
I'm sure the reaction would be like, Oh my God, this is, this is it.
This is critical mass TV deal, you know, another star.
Like this is going to flip everything.
And I think it would flip everything into just like, okay,
like nothing matters now, truly.
You know, it's like, we might already be there.
We might be.
That's kind of where I'm at.
So I will say, I mean, I don't know what you were looking
at, but I saw it.
Let's see here.
It was a Monahan's micro peen.
It was, it's micro peen.
Let's throw out some. It's the handle at 69 elite golfer.
Sixty nine was thrown out some.
It could be out of a log from what he is.
So 69 fairways in a row.
I thought I thought you were going to say
that my weather app was wrong, but no, it was micro peen.
The European model was coming in there for a sec. Yeah. I don't know if there's,
if there's anything else there, bummer not to see Xander would love him to, you know,
we'll have him. We get a couple of these rehab starts before we get for opening day.
The only other thing I had kind of PJ tour related here, Genesis officially going to
be moved. I don't think that was a shock to anybody. The idea
of getting a bunch of cars and a bunch of police officers and all kinds of infrastructure
into Pacific Palisades right now sounds like just the worst possible idea for everybody
involved. So no shock to see that moved. I'm curious. Do you guys have any locations that feel like they make sense?
What would you like to see?
TC?
Do you have anything kind of up your sleeve that feels like it would make sense?
Two very different questions.
I think make sense versus like to see like to see.
I'd love to see a Congaree or something, you know,
even concession concession was good when they had it there and good.
Turn of course, you know, it's probably going to be what shadow Creek or the
summit or something in Vegas.
I think that's kind of the standby.
I don't know.
It's, you know, I could see, I mean, shit, you could do a
Harding park or something even.
So this is like, this would be an interesting question for somebody that like does tournament ops
because a couple of week time period,
like to lay the cable that is required for,
you know, televising all this stuff and hospitality.
I mean, is there even going to be hospitality?
Is it just straight tickets?
No grandstands, no nothing out there.
It's a massive operation that goes into,
I mean, my club hosts a champions tour event
and it's six, five, six weeks on the front end
and several weeks on the back end to get ready for it.
Like the maintenance schedules work around
that specific event and like the tour comes
into a certain part to bring in rough
and grow up all this stuff.
Like it's kind of crazy to stand up a signature event,
if anything, at the PGA Tour level.
So that's where I went to like,
why don't just do back to back weeks at Phoenix,
in Scottsdale?
I've seen that floated.
That seems to cover off on all the logistical stuff.
Granted, it is a repeat and it's, you know,
maybe it's two different events though,
if you ask me, there's the warmup event
and then there's a signature event.
The fields will be different.
I mean, the presentation kind of still looks the same but like that seems to answer a lot of
questions for me on getting that turned around that quickly. It's a tough tough time of year
too like it kind of limits your your options right. Chipotlepec I don't know if everyone would live but
you know I think they could fire that place up tomorrow. Yeah, always. That's always ready for you.
You can always get a game at Chipotle Bank.
Oh, well, that's the best idea of her.
Yeah, I like that. Well, we will we will wait and see where they end up moving that.
I'm kind of I might throw my way behind concession.
I think that's my I would love to see that place get another crack.
I'll be so impressed if it's, you know,
if they can turn one up around in that many weeks,
that's not TPC Scottsdale, honestly.
Like, I mean, infrastructure-wise,
I'd be really, really, really impressed.
Over in Dubai at the Dubai Desert Classic,
Tyrrell Hatton wins his fifth Rolex Series event,
one-shot victory over Daniel Hillier. Hillier birdied the 18th, while Hatton wins his fifth Rolex series event, one shot victory over Daniel Hillier.
Hillier birdied the 18th while Hatton played it conservatively, ended up needing a five footer
for par on the last to win it in regulation. Guys, Tyrrell Hatton's been on a bit of a tear
through the fall, kind of quietly, maybe a couple of events that us daft Americans aren't paying
quite as much attention to. But since the live season ended, he is now top 10 in six
straight events around the world, including another win at
the Dunhill links.
Over that stretch, he has moved from number 38 in the crooked
OWGR all the way up to, I believe he moves to number eight
after this win, which when you're not playing like straight
up, you're not playing on the PGA Tour to get into the top
10 in the world
without winning a major is fucking crazy.
That's insane.
It might be pound for pound best.
Well, indeed.
I was gonna ask you guys,
you could talk me off this if you want.
I know Ram's there.
I know Bryson's there.
I know Brooks is there.
Is there a case to be made
that Hatton is Liv's best player right now?
Is that laughable?
No, it's not. Second best player would be an interesting conversation. He's not best way to start. I think that's the best way to start. I think that's the best way to start.
I think that's the best way to start.
I think that's the best way to start.
I think that's the best way to start.
I think that's the best way to start.
I think that's the best way to start.
I think that's the best way to start.
I think that's the best way to start.
I think that's the best way to start.
I think that's the best way to start.
I think that's the best way to start. I think that's the, we got, we still got three weeks till Riyadh, right?
Uh, you know, so, you know, this is all just, this is all just window dressing.
I think, uh, so I know you also got a kick out of, uh, him getting reprimanded
for, for taking a T box as well.
Did you see this?
Yeah.
Corrigan, uh, wrote this up.
Uh, I got it from Yahoo.
I assume they liked it to it to JB Corrigan,
but the quotes that Tyrell hadn't smashed up a tee box, receive a stern telling off
from an official. And then after battling to within a stroke of the lead, going into
the final day of the Dubai desert classic declared, I don't want to be boring. Like
everyone else love him or hate him or adore his golf and despair at his tantrums. The
Englishman is anything but dull. The 33 year old is a seething contradiction
as he can exasperate at the same time as he enthralls and in an
era when the archetype archetypal archetypal archetypal
modern archetypal modern golfer is impressing the dwindling
viewerships with the monotony of the faultless ball striking at
the same time as driving the same viewer to switch over with
the monotony of their characters. Hatton is a poster boy for emotion, good and bad. That was just some
beautiful writing. That is good stuff. He's provocative. He gets the people going in other words.
I'm good. I've made this clear well before he went to live. This is not a live related thing.
I'm good on Hatton. If he was American, my God, people would hate this guy. Like absolutely hate this guy.
I mean, Rory had some nice things to say about him too,
about how he's a boot into the Ryder Cup team.
Excellent, excellent, excellent player.
Top five probably player in the world right now.
My big takeaway from TGL,
this seems like a weird segue,
is just how much we need to live team on TGL and just having like Bryson Rom Hatten
all on a team playing like fake video game golf. I think where you can really let it rip would be very fun.
But TC, what else do you have in the notebook from Dubai? You can use a little bit of that extra time if you want. Laurie Cantor just continues to put together a fascinating career, a couple of years of dalliances
with Liv and he was one of the Joker players out there.
Finished solo third this week ahead of Laurie.
How is he not on the Majestics?
I don't know how he's not on a team.
It's crazy.
I mean, how is he not on the Iron Heads?
How is he not on the Cliques?
You know, the Cliques could certainly use them cliques have big
Big announcement coming. I think I believe tomorrow on Monday. They've been teasing it for the last week
I think it's the big rebrand. So stay tuned for that
Rory and Nicholas Norgaard Nicholas Norgaard continues to stunt He's firmly on the radar for that page. I think, uh,
Sally you're in shambles. Foxy finished T 10
with Dylan Fratelli.
Did you watch how he played 18 today? I didn't know. I wasn't.
Let me just tell you, it was, it was not proper. Uh, he just banged a ball.
He took two iron out of the, out of the rough and just banged it left.
It didn't end up hitting the grandstand, but it's a good thing. It's a good thing. It's a good thing. It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing.
It's a good thing. It's a good thing. It's a good thing. It's a good thing. It's a good thing. Absolutely. I mean, airmail the green by, I don't know, 15 yards bangs off the grandstand
rolls out to what? Like six, seven feet makes makes butt for Eagle. Just really chat with
his caddy about it.
Devastating stuff, man. Devastating stuff.
I mean, a hundred people tagged me in the tweet. Hundreds.
I TC and none. You know, Foxy, you and Ferguson. I will just slip in the Roy, Roy McElroy finished
T four with a fight around 66. He has gone T three win T four and his last three starts.
You could take that off your time and keep going again. Yeah. He got beat by Lori cancer though.
I wanted to shout out Guido Migliazzi and David Miccaluzzi. Miccaluzzi is Australian, makes a ton of birdies.
I like the way he plays golf.
And then Big Shot Bob and Minwoo Lee finished T17, one shot behind the Ewan Ferguson, the
disgraced Ewan Ferguson.
And then otherwise, I've been getting some reports that Callum Hill is one to watch as far as pace of play goes.
Just one of the most egregious offenders.
And so I want him to know that we are monitoring.
I was hoping you were going to say it was a shining example of a player to watch.
Unfortunately, not.
I also received word that Akshay chipped it out of bounds.
I know I saw this in here. I couldn't find the video.
Like chipped into the wrong fairway, like on purpose and they had it marked as internal
OB.
That's so sick. I don't know, man. Internal OB, do I think that's like the best thing
for golf course design for most of us? Probably not. It just feels like one of the few tools we have left in the toolbox for pro golf.
So I'm kind of all in on internal OB these days.
Yeah.
Big techs, Jimmy Walker finished plus he continues to turn on the Dubai Desert
Classic.
What a strange, strange field.
I saw Tom McKibbin finished T6 at 11 under strongly. I don't even know if it's a strange, strange field. I saw a Tom McKibbin finished T six at 11 under strongly.
I don't even know if it's a rumor.
I mean, just, just very openly like going to join live
after earning a tour card through the DP world tour last season.
I know Rory had some thoughts on this.
They kind of were, were being spread around like wildfire.
What was sum up kind of what, what he said
and if you had any thoughts on, on the matter.
Yeah, it was kind of funny. It was like, uh, it was the typical, um, you know,
Rory Rose asked about it. I watched the clip and then Rory was extremely,
I mean, it's a long clip of, of his full answer, like very much like choosing his
words very carefully throughout the whole thing. And every headline I saw after it
was like Rory McIlroy sounds off after trying to talk Tom McKibben out of going to live. We weren't
going to play the full video, but Rory said, as soon as he got the offer, he rang me and
I just landed in New Zealand. We had a really good conversation. I talked to him multiple
times in December. He was very open to hearing my perspective and I appreciated him calling
me to get it. I really liked Tom as a person, as a player, I think he's got a ton of potential.
I said to him, if I were in your shoes, I would make a different choice than the one you're
thinking of making. Working so hard to get your tour card in the States last year was a big
achievement. He said, I don't think anything's official yet. I think what he potentially is
sacrificing and giving up with access to majors or potential Ryder Cup spot. If I were in the
position and had his potential, which I think I have been before, I wouldn't make that decision,
but I'm not him.
I'm not in his shoes.
He's a grown man at this point
and can make his own decisions.
And I just, it was an interesting connection
that Ben Coley made.
He said on Twitter, he said,
very clear the offer came after the DP World Tour
Championship last year.
So this is a very Saudi move and a repeat of last year.
Wait to see who gets the PGA Tour cards then disrupt. Said I wonder if Smith had gotten
the last card and not McKibbin would live have knocked on a
different door. It seems plausible to me to live could
have signed any number of players in places where they
say they want to grow the game, but they signed Rory's protege
only after he was sure of a PGA tour card. Can't help but wonder
how things are really going behind the scenes. Hopefully he
changes his mind. Yeah, I found that perspective to be very interesting. I'm it's all the talk of
Bircherson, all this stuff of house, how petty and spiteful this stuff continues
to be. It's also, it also interesting after the, uh, you know,
Chikara quotes of last week or a couple of weeks ago of just like, yeah, man,
I went over there as like a young player.
Cause I thought I was getting all these things like these guys didn't give a
fuck about what we were doing. But it's easier to say after you got 18 million bucks for like Chikara did like Kevin hasn't gotten his back yet
So so that's the that's the big I don't know rumor or I mean seems pretty well-founded
I've heard it from a lot of people that
McKibbin's not getting any money from live that Callaway's is basically gonna have their own team
money from live that Callaway's is basically going to have their own team over there. And all the money is coming directly from Callaway. It's part of his Callaway deal. So, and this is a, this is a
14th team as well. Interesting. All the money and the money is also still, you know, 50 now, what?
58 player fields, if that's the case, whatever it is and $20 million being,
being put up, you've finished middle of the pack. You're going to make close to double
digit millions of dollars in the course of a live season as well.
Man, man, that Callaway things. Yeah. That's, that's interesting. We'll see what, what
happens. Who else is on this team? You put that together with the Xander, you know, medical
issue. If you're, if you're putting your tin foil on.
You could have a Lori cancer on that team.
But yeah.
Anthony Kimm move over to that team?
The wild cards.
Do the wild cards get to go on a team then,
if that's the case?
Like it'd be tough if they hadn't filled out
the 14th team and there's wild cards
just roaming around out there.
I mean, it just continues to be sick that there's,
I mean, there's just no, like they'll just do whatever.
Like it doesn't, none of it fucking matters.
Just like the thing that it just keeps hitting me
as like the funniest thing ever is like building up
this whole like there's real relegation.
There's real like, oh, and they're like, no,
they just like, they got kicked off
and then they just resigned.
There's a business case for this guy to keep his spot.
Oh, it's just, it's so good.
You know what kind of took our slack by storm this week, our internal NLU slack was these quotes from
Victor Hovland. Did you guys hear these? Just really good stuff. I'm just going to play the
whole clip here. Yeah. I mean, to be honest with you, I'd like to be a little bit more hopeful,
but it's been very challenging. Even with the off season that I you, I'd like to be a little bit more hopeful but You know, it's it's been very challenging even with the offseason that I had I was hoping to
Make a little bit more progress feel a little bit better about my game
But it's been it's been challenging which you know, I'm sure you know a lot about it's it's a hard game and
But I do feel like I'm headed in the right direction. it's just taking a little bit longer than I would have liked but what's cool is and I try
to tell myself that even last year I made it to the Tour Championship I almost
won a major almost won a playoff event with a swing that I hate to look at on
camera and it just doesn't feel good when I'm I'm swinging so there's a lot
of good golf in there, but I got to at
least give myself a chance to hit some good shots. Yeah, I mean, I'm certified nuts, so
there's, there's gotta be some tinkering going on, but that's this game. But I at least have
a way better understanding and appreciation for what I used to do, even though there were
certain aspects before that I didn't necessarily love about my swing like it looked quirky or look goofy but now I at least
have a better understanding biomechanically why those golf swings
worked and why I'm struggling now so I yeah I just know a lot better so now
that when I when I can see it on camera, track my numbers, whatever you want to,
uh, measure. Um, I know what's good and what's not good. And I'll,
I'll kind of stay within the boundaries. If that makes sense.
I mean that that's, that's, that's the kind of clip that makes you realize like, man, these guys are,
they can be very interesting, man. It's like, there is a reason to like golf.
Some of these superstars are like wildly captivating people pair all that up with
the big piece KVV wrote last year.
And you're just like, God, just put Hovlin on my TV with a chance to win.
Like that's kind of all, all I want to watch.
But TC, what stuck out to you from that?
Hating the way your swing looks, but it getting resolved.
So that's true.
Kind of that's how deep that's how we got into this situation, right?
He's one of the best players in the world and didn't like it and changed a whole
bunch of stuff and changed it again and again and again.
I'm certified nuts is the best.
Like that's just just to give that give that quote out there and let everyone
react to it. I respect the hell out of that.
Though the the I'd like to be hopeful, that's not a well, that's yeah, that's what I was gonna also say is like is as
Interesting as that is to watch if we're playing buying or selling
That's like it might be moving the markets a little bit a clip like that
TC mentioned this earlier, but another great clip from the DP world tour this week
They did like an influencer training video
with the people from St. Andre golf. Just a real banger, some real good stuff in there.
Internally for us, for selfish purposes, the best thing to come out of it was
Tommy Fleetwood with the Snapchat bald filter on people, of course, took to social media to say
how much this looks like TC. They look like they could be brothers. I'm sure they were just, your phone had to be just melting.
It was, again, I think it was a powerful thing for the bold community to see. And then I
saw golf digest did something today where they did the reverse and they put Tommy's hair on a
variety of players to see how they would look with Tommy's flowing locks.
That might be, that's a reheat. I'm pretty sure. I think that's, that's a,
I think they did that with a rider cup or something back in the day.
They might have. Okay. Anything else from Dubai before we move on?
So it's, it's, it's our favorite time. We need,
we need to give a word from our friends at the stack.
The stack is a complete system for biohacking your club head
speed. You've heard myself and Sally both swear by this golf
training system.
If you haven't go back and listen to Sally's conversation
with stack founder, Dr.
Sasho Mackenzie.
I actually got to catch up with Sasha for about a half hour
this week for a video project I'm working on. Listen, I'll be honest. I kind of put the stack on with Sasha for about a half hour this week for a video project. I'm working on listen
I'll be honest. I kind of put the stack on the shelf for about three four months when my son was born
I'm sleeping on the couch, you know, I'm not I'm not getting any good sleep
All of a sudden you start to see those numbers trending in the wrong direction
I'm like, alright, I'm gonna wait until I can really rededicate myself to this
So I hopped on with Sasha. I was like, what do you think? Should I do? I do I pick back up where I was like, what do you think? Should I, do I, do I pick back up where I was? Do I start over? He's like, Oh, no, no, no, no. Like start over completely. Like make sure you're doing it in, in kind of one, one fell swoop.
And so I was worried like, Oh God, are all these gains going to go away? I was down two miles an hour. That's it. So that, that was like, I was up overall. God, I forget what the exact numbers are. I have to check, but probably like 15
miles an hour of swing, swing speed, which was like, you know, obviously requires some,
some swing changes, swing changes as well. But the, uh, the stack is kind of what, like
what made those swing changes clear to me or like made, you know, illustrated why I
should make swing changes was starting to do it like this and just having like the power
of being able to, to take hard swings without having to worry about where a golf ball is I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet. All right. The words of Udi Johnson.
I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet.
I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet.
I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet.
I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet.
I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet.
I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet.
I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet.
I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet.
I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet.
I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet.
I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet.
I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet. I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet. I'm not going to do it at the point of a bay my time. I'm not going to do it at the point of a bayonet. All right. The words of Udi Johnson.

Use code no laying up for 10% off on the stack. Can't recommend it enough. It's not, you know
what? Not only is the ball going farther, it's all you can attest to this.
It's just really fun, man. It's really fun. Like especially when it's zero degrees,
you know, it's a fun little training thing to go get in the garage and try to
have some actionable data. Uh, it was,
I was like four workouts into it and I was like, this is so perfect for DJ.
Like this could not be any more perfect. And I just,
I just restarted my program as well on Friday.
So I got some return to form to get going. And
I got to wrap up my kind of second big part of the program.
And then we'll see where we go. Awesome. So guys, I think
we've officially labeled the next section, the back nine.
We're not going to call it the E9. We're not going to call
anything. We're going with the back nine until we decide to
change it. It's the back of the episode. There's nine things.
It feels like we're calling it the back nine and TC, we've got no better opening hole for the back nine
than for you to just tell us about Argentina. You just got back just over overall takeaways.
I know you guys are going to do a ton, ton, ton of content and some other podcasts and
stuff so we don't have to dive super deep into it, but just, just big picture, man.
What was, what were the takeaways?
God, I want to go back immediately.
It was fantastic.
Middle of summer down there,
we went to three very distinct parts of the country.
We went up by Cordoba to a couple courses up there.
One called La Cumbre, which has a 66 yard par three
that Roberto Di Vicenzo made a 12 on
during the Argentine Open way back. It just kind
of reminded me of something that George Thomas designed in Southern California. Just really
interesting stuff.
Then Mar del Plata down on the coast, about four or five hours south of BA was a revelation.
I've never seen anything like it. Um, wait till
you see the videos and the visuals there. They were getting ready for the, the Abierto
del Sur, the, the, the open of the south down there. Um, really interesting golf course.
And then went up to BA and, and yeah, we, I mean the, the, the grilling scene down there
guys, it's unbelievable.
They're seasoning on grilling scene down there guys, it's unbelievable.
They're seasoning on their meats down there.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
Just salt really just salt, but the, uh, you know, the, the, the, the, the
blood sausage and all the cuts of me.
It was, it was incredible.
We played jockey club.
Uh, Sally, I think you would have been enamored with it.
It was incredible.
I wish there was a way that they could.
you would have been enamored with it. It was incredible. I wish there was a way that they could televise that corn fairy tour event that they have there because that's, it's a strikingly
flat property. And Mackenzie just dug out all these trenches and mounding and like, you know,
figured like basically figured out how to create interest on a really flat piece of property.
Couple of the craziest greens I've ever seen.
create interest on a really flat piece of property. Couple of the craziest greens I've ever seen.
Do you see, I had just gotten like a,
like a not insignificant amount of poop on my right palm
and had just got done like cleaning it up.
It got to my phone.
It was like, dude, sell you would love this golf course.
I was like, next time you're down here, man,
you got to check this place out.
Love it.
When you can travel again in like 20, 50, 30.
It's really hard to understand the level of FOMO right now.
Yeah.
I mean, just I get 36 whole Alastair Mackenzie venue is 36 hours.
The showers.
I mean, we got shout like if your videos coming out of Argentina, G rated shower content,
aggressive, aggressive, hundreds of gallons of water coming out per minute, you know, Coming out of Argentina. G-rated shower content. Aggressive.
Hundreds of gallons of water coming out per minute.
All that. And then last day we stopped at the Latin America amateur championship, the LAC.
And saw that. It was out at Pilar Golf Club.
First and foremost, I would commend USGA, R&A, and Augusta National for putting that on.
Isn't it sick?
For everything. Yeah. It's not the Pilar is not a great venue for it. I don't think it's
a pretty standard resort course. There's a Hilton hotel on property. So it's, you know,
everybody can stay there on property. Logistics are pretty tough down in Argentina, which,
you know, and we can talk like we'll talk about all the inflation stuff and all that
on another pod. But it was interesting, like just seeing, you know, Mike Wan was down
there, the RNA folks were down there, the USGA folks saw the green jackets around the
property and it was like 110 degrees the day we were out there, like seeing those guys
wearing their green jackets around. It was the first time I've ever felt bad for a green
jacket.
The jackets don't look like they breathe, man. They look like heavy duty.
Yeah. Yeah. But no, it's definitely, it was pretty cool when you walk out to the first
tee and you see a kid teeing off that's from Haiti. I don't know if they have a golf course
in Haiti. I saw him and I think the entire,
it was interesting to see kind of, you know, I think the entire University of Arkansas golf
team was out there, like four or five guys from there. There was a UNF guy that I saw that I
sought out. It was a guy from Trinidad and Tobago who was wearing a lot of President's Cup international
gear. I sent that to Immelmann, Chris Richards was his name. The Argentinian guys were all, like it was cool.
They're all wearing their kind of country's uniform and stuff.
So you know, the Chileans, the Panamanians, the, like next year they announced it's in
Peru next year at Lima golf club, kind of right there in the city.
Looks like a cool, maybe not the best golf course, but a cool venue.
Like I think I was a little bit bummed that we'd played the
jockey club the day before.
And I'm like, man, this should be at the jockey club.
Yeah.
Like this should be, you know, near BA in a, at a architecturally
significant golf course and, you know, really take that to the
next level.
But overall, I think, you know, talking to some people, there's,
there's maybe some, some waggur, some world amateur golf rankings,
manipulation going on. Before we get to that TC, I'm, I wagger, some world amateur golf rankings, manipulation
going on.
Before we get to that TC, I'm, I'm curious if you kind of, I have not been in the Latin
American AM, but Ben and I went down to the Asia Pacific AM and like I walked away from
that thinking, you know, you know, this guy, the Augusta national and then don't need more
pats on the back on things. But it was like, holy shit, this is people talk about growing
the game. Like the effect that these tournaments, these two
tournaments have back to what you were saying about, you know,
Trinidad and Tobago and Haiti and like what it does for golf
programs, like in individual countries, like a lot of the
other grow the game crap falls like woefully short, compared to
like what the actual level of investment that goes into these
tournaments. I'm curious if you had kind of the same reaction seeing that in person. That's the kind of thing that doesn't
shine through on TV.
I did. Yeah. No, I think it's very much a... They don't have to do this.
No.
And they're 10 years. This was, I think, the 10-year anniversary. And so to see... It's
still pretty nascent, but to see it's run the right way, they put legitimate resources
behind it.
The scoring is top notch.
You go out there and courses in good shape and they've got everything that you would
expect going to a PGA tour or the USAM or major golf tournament of pairing sheets and
just the organization of it.
So yeah, I walked away from it thinking, man, this is a great thing.
I'm glad it exists.
And I can't wait to follow it for the next 10 years and see what it turns into.
Because I think there are, back to the Wagga stuff, I think there are some legitimate,
not concerns, but just things that they're working through with regard to,
I think in Latin America, there's some guys will just basically come up with their own
event at their club and then turn in the cards and to Wagga and say, Hey, we put in an event.
And there's like too many dudes that are like not very good mid-ams playing in this event
because they have inflated wager scores. Now,
granted, the wager stuff has gotten a lot better over the last five years, like the strength of
field and everything. There's definitely some manipulation going on there.
It was interesting too, what's the definition of Latin America? Right? Because you've seen now two guys from the Cayman Islands win this and you've got, you know, and obviously Haiti is a French speaking
country. That's not, you know, like there's, that was kind of an interesting thing for
me. It's like, where do you delineate? So I guess the entire Caribbean, all of South
America, all of Central America, Mexico, that's all Latin America for these intents and purposes. But you know, I know that's kind of, you know, the Caymans are a little bit different from
say Columbia or Bolivia or something like that.
So I think there's
I have a feeling the Augusta members have good relationships in the Caymans.
I don't think they want to piss those guys off.
So but yeah, no, it was, there was a, actually ran into that, um,
like I Geronimo, uh, who's the, the, uh, club champ of it up at pine Valley.
He's from Puerto Rico originally, and he was playing, uh, he's just the shot of life. And then,
um, there was, you know, there was a couple, a couple like Argentine mid-ams, Andy Schoenbaum and a guy, um, Frederico, who's like, he played awesome.
I think he was last guy in the field finished top 10, but, um, but overall, I think it's,
it's, it's achieving the right stuff.
Like you see how many of these kids are in, you know, like at kind of big time collegiate
golf programs and you know, there were plenty of coaches there,
there were plenty of scouts there, all that.
So all good there.
And then I think too, like Omar Morales,
the kid from Mexico, he's going to be a stud.
He finished, I think he finished fourth or fifth,
but seeing him kind of come through up close,
it was like, whoa, this kid's the real deal.
And he'll be out on corn fairies soon enough and probably on the PGA tour after that. I was like, I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym.
I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym.
I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym.
I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym.
I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym.
I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym.
I'm going to go to the gym.
I'm going to go to the gym.
I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym. I know we're going to have a lot of content coming forward. We're going to have a significant video project we're working on to round up the trip.
You and Wolfie and Ben, and I'm sure Cody will hop on the blower to do some podcasts about it.
Before we get there, what's your favorite course on the list?
Weirdly, I think the favorite course, I keep going I keep going back to this, it's kind of, it's probably
a tie between Mardel Plata and La Cumbria.
La Cumbria was like 5,900 yards and it was just, you know, it was just as cool as it
gets.
So, and went in not thinking anything of it.
That was kind of the last one we added in on the trip and And it blew me away. It was just really, really interesting stuff.
But man, it was something where I went in with expectations of some cool golf that maybe
the conditions weren't going to be great or didn't really know what to expect and came
away thinking, man, that conditioning was good on all these golf courses. The golf culture is strong.
The only bummer was really that there's no more caddies down there.
The caddies at all the clubs like sued, I think at Jockey Club, they sued the club.
And like basically on the basis of, hey, we should be considered employees of the club,
not independent contractors, because you've made us do stuff while we were waiting for loops.
It's the same kind of thing that's going on in Long Island right now.
So I think that's where a lot of the culture and the texture of Argentinian golf, especially
in Cordoba, comes from.
That's where a lot of those, the best Argentinian golfers have come from the caddy yards.
And now for the last seven, eight, nine years, there's been no caddies anywhere, which is
kind of a bummer.
That is a bummer.
Well, I can't wait to see the footage that the stuff Ben was sending through looked fucking
awesome.
And it sounded like you guys had an absolute blast.
So welcome back.
Sounds like a great trip.
And shout out, we had an all time hall of fame host,
Felipe Lanas from El Pro Shop de Horacio.
He and his buddies basically said,
hey, let's create something like NLU
for the Spanish speaking world.
So they started that.
And I mean, he was just,
I've never experienced hospitality like that anywhere. No offense. It was on
par with this stuff down in Australia, Greg and Ewan over on Aaron. I was floored, blown
away. The generosity and Argentina was very interesting in that people just like to hang
out with each other. Nobody's on their phones.
It's very much like everybody's just sitting around the table talking to one another, with
one another, engaged in the moment. And I think in a way that had me thinking, man,
it was almost like going back in time in a really, really cool, good way. And if we could
get some of that going in our country, we'd be a lot better off for it. So I'll clean some of that shit off your hands and you know, sounds like we need to
let me get me on the road right now. This is legitimately inspired.
And the cool part is like, you know, we hit I think five or six golf courses. There's another,
there's another itinerary out there of like, you know, hit some of those again, and then go down to I think it's a great way to get into the game. I think it's a great way to get into the game. I think it's a great way to get into the game.
I think it's a great way to get into the game.
I think it's a great way to get into the game.
I think it's a great way to get into the game.
I think it's a great way to get into the game.
I think it's a great way to get into the game.
I think it's a great way to get into the game.
I think it's a great way to get into the game.
I think it's a great way to get into the game.
I think it's a great way to get into the game.
I think it's a great way to get into the game. I think it's a great haul, you know? It was a par seven. TC gets fucking Argentine.
I gotta do the Liv shit.
This is absolute bullshit.
Take us to Liv corner.
Hey, I'll do the Liv stuff.
Yeah, I got this, I got this.
Liv officially announced to Fox.
It's kind of a, I don't know,
weirder, bigger deal on Twitter
than I thought it would be this week
because this was announced, broken back in December
and Scott O'Neill taking over as CEO.
But some more details came out about this.
The league announced Thursday that it had
agreed to a multi-year media rights agreement with Fox Sports to broadcast
live golf events in twenty twenty five and beyond.
Agreement will bring live coverage to viewers in the United States for all three
days of competition of every live golf event.
That is a change because the international events were shown on tape delay
back here in the US.
More than half of Live Golf schedule will air on Fox or FS1 in 2025.
Coming back to that part.
Select rounds will air on FS2, Fox Business Network and the Fox Sports app
with nearly all of Live Golf season's 210 hours of competition
carried live across Fox Sports platforms.
All Live coverage will be streamed on across Fox Sports platforms. All LiveGolf coverage will be streamed
on the Fox Sports app and to LiveGolf Plus app subscribers.
T.C., what you're talking about,
people hanging out, talking, not being on their phones.
I kind of feel like LiveGolf airing
on the Fox Business Network might be the polar opposite
of what you're talking about there.
I feel like if I'm a Fox Business network viewer, loyalist, they're not doing
business stuff.
Well, maybe, you know, it, it, Liv kind of is more about business than it is, uh, you
know, about golf.
So I dunno.
I'll ask you guys is what does, what does this mean?
Does this actually actually change things?
The last, you know, 365 days, all I've been told is that linear doesn't matter and everyone's watching on the app. Now I'm being told that
it's a massive deal for live golf and this will change things. Where are you
guys at on this?
My big takeaways or question is what about caffeine TV?
That died already. That died like a dog actually, like halfway through the
season. They did not make it through the full season on caffeine TV, despite
the billion and a half years. I think it's probably somewhere in the middle, right? It's like, I think it does matter. And it is a big dub from the, you know, Fox sports and FS one and FS two even are very
easy to find. It is like, can I, I would divide the line there before you get through that.
I think the first part Fox is important. I think FS one is a big, big, big, big, big
big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, I think the first part Fox is important. I think FS one and FS two are a different category.
I think that's right. I think on the whole, is it a one or zero victory or loss? Like
it's a, it's a victory. I think, you know, it makes it easier to see it, puts it in more
houses. It's, it's going to be on more mindless bar TVs. It's like, from that perspective,
I think it's, it's a victory, but like, do I, do houses, it's going to be on more mindless bar TVs.
From that perspective, I think it's a victory, but I don't know, do I think it's a meaningful
change?
I guess maybe over a couple of years, this type of thing can compound on itself and maybe
lead to some sort of addition in viewership, but it's like, like, like addition in intentional
viewership maybe is a better way to say it.
Like people actually seeking it out rather than just sitting at a bar or restaurant and
like it happens to be on the TV the way that the caffeine TV stuff was for airports.
But in reality, like I don't even think anybody's watching the PGA tour.
So like, I don't think any of it really matters at all. But I don't even think anybody's watching the PGA tour. So I don't think any of it really matters at all.
But I don't know.
That's kind of a nearly-moth answer, I guess.
But I think it's both.
Important to note, Liv is still handling production for this.
Right?
So Liv is handling all the production costs, which, from what I've gathered from talking
to some TV people, is somewhere in the $2 to $3 million a week range,
not counting the big international trips, which are likely much,
much, much more expensive than that. That's one thing.
Boulay is not going to pay for himself.
Fox is paying a modest rights fee. I think a non-zero part of
this is, and I don't pretend to know anything about the future
rights of the World Cup, but with the World Cup, Fox being involved in
soccer like they have in the past, the World Cup heading to
Saudi Arabia in 2034, I think it is, there's a connection there
of some kind that I don't, I don't know, I don't, I'm not an
expert on speaking on, but I think that probably plays
something along those lines. And there could be potential here as
well for kind of a shared ad revenue aspect of it with Fox and Liv.
Shared prosperity.
Yeah.
So there's a lot of details to say.
I don't think this is like a moneymaker for Liv.
I'd be surprised if this like meant massive more income.
It absolutely cannot fund the tour.
It still needs the prince's money to kind of fund it.
And it doesn't put it on a path to sustainability.
Do I think their like viewership on Fox will be higher than it has been on the CW? I think
it'd be hard to have it be lower, honestly. But I think FS1, I just I looked up a little
bit of stuff on my college football rankings between like, Fox averaged 3.1 million college football viewers
on Fox.
They averaged 417,000 on FS1.
Granted those matchups are a lot less appealing,
but like it's, you know, there's a stickiness to Fox
that I don't think exists with FS1.
CW average.
Your bucks are always playing on big noon.
They are.
CW averaged 411,000 for college football. So almost the same as FS1.
So like I was giving a very long distance X, you know, prediction here,
I'd say FS1 and CW probably gonna be pretty similar.
TV numbers would be my guess. And I would guess the floor goes up to,
I don't know, 400,000 when you're on Fox,
which is a significant boost for Liv,
but I
don't think it changes the conversation in any way.
I think it's more of a distraction, uh, towards reconciliation than it is kind
of a game changer, but that's my opinion.
Soly my question is, you know, live coverage versus especially the first half
of the season, because they're, you know, first four events or Riyadh,
Adelaide, Hong Kong, Singapore.
And then, you know, they're in Miami the week before the Masters. But otherwise,
my guess T.C. would be the U.S. events are going to be on Fox. And I think like the overnight,
the non live, it's going to be live, but the off hour stuff is easier to fit into FS1,
FS2 or Fox Business Network. That I thought
was alarming. Of 14 events, you're going to be potentially on five different channels.
I don't know how big of an investment this is from Fox Sports' perspective. They're basically
getting live TV rights for free because they don't have to do any of the production on it.
They're paying a small fee for it, but like lives doing all of the work. Well, a lot of those, I mean, that might be an upgrade though on, on PGA tour where you
got PGA tour on, you know, one round is on four different channels.
So the, uh, the U S based ones that you're mentioning on Fox two are also going up against
like the PGA tours, biggest events as well. Right. So like that's not nothing in this conversation,
but yeah, I looked it up last year.
I mean, they went up against some big events last year,
went up against Pebble, Waste, Bay Hill and Players.
It didn't go great for Liv.
I mean, a lot of the events that didn't even draw 10%
of the PGA Tour audiences on the Sundays.
So maybe Fox helps level that to getting past the 10% mark
of getting the PGA Tour viewership,
but PGA Tour viewership isn't, again,
but like does viewership
even matter for this league? It hasn't mattered to this point so we can have this conversation
over the next hour or just kind of throw our hands up to say like it's probably gonna look
pretty similar. It's literally live golf TV just on a different channel. If you're a golf fan and
have followed it I don't think anything changes here. Do maybe more people get exposed to it and fall in love with this crazy format of golf? I'd be surprised if that was the
case. I've been surprised about a lot of stuff in this process.
As DJ puts on his fireballs hat. I've been surprised about a lot
of stuff that would surprise me the most of all of it. So that's
kind of all I'm just gonna say April 25 to 27. Tripultepec
better damn well be on Fox.
I hope so.
All international one that one might be difficult,
but that's one of the first tournaments they have
that is not up against a big event.
That's where their schedule actually starts to make up
a little bit of sense.
The other news that you mentioned,
Scott O'Neill officially announced as the live CEO,
which means Greg Norman's out.
I'm sure he's a lifelong advisor,
kind of a Tony LaRusso figure, uh, to, to the league. Uh, so I think you put this question in
there. I really enjoyed this. Uh, what was your favorite? Just favorite moment, bottom line at
favorite moment of the Greg Norman era. I got to TC this one because I got to just a couple of them
came to mind here of, uh, the, the line of like Norman moving on reminded me of when
they originally said that they kind of threatened a year or two ago that Norman was going to be out
of the CEO role and be moving upstairs. And everyone was like, dude, are they fucking killing
Norman? The moving upstairs part just made me laugh so hard. Like reliving that one today of like,
oh my God, they're finally moving Norman upstairs. But it'd be really tough to beat Shirley.
You just, that was the, the, the open letter he sent to Monahan that just started Shirley.
You just about, you know, all of this blah, blah. It was just such an aggressive letter.
It was such a hostile time in the golf world. And it was just unbelievable that this cartoon character was the CEO of this, of this upstart.
And man, that era lasted a lot longer than I thought I thought it would.
God, there's, there's some good ones that him going to the masters is underrated.
I feel like, Oh my God, just staring at Rory, just pressing up against the rope and just
painted on pants.
It could not have been tighter awkwardly trying to get in front of Rory parachuting
onto the first tee as well.
I mean, that was that was easy top sharp dress man like social reel that went out of him
just walking around high five and fans.
I forget which event that was at, but that was an all-timer.
That might have been like there was first maybe the first event, the London one. I don't know.
There was one, I meant to pull this picture. I don't think I ever posted about this one,
but there was an event he missed because he was getting surgery or something. And he was like,
I'm home watching live golf. I'm not there, but I'm watching it.
And the hat, he's got a live golf hat on that is clearly photoshopped onto him.
I need to find this picture.
I'll see if we could maybe get it added in post to the YouTube.
But I was like, oh my, like that, that was just, that was the level of stuff that was going on in that era.
Well, I love, I love his social.
It's really good. I just, I can, I love his social. It's really good.
I just, I can't get enough of them.
There's so much good stuff on those, but I mean, I go back to like, he's,
he's got one like him diving off the coast of Saudi Arabia.
Just giving the thumbs up.
But the one that he, that he, that he posted before he took the live job
where he fired his captain of his boat.
That was a good one. That was really good.
Yeah, I'm an owner operator. I do.
Gosh. Well, happy trails to Greg Norman and congrats to Scott O'Neill, the new live CEO.
Two long opening holes here. Tough start to the...
Scott O'Neill.
It's a five hour, 40 minute round. One of the architects of the process. Is that right? Oh, you know. It's a five hour 40 minute round.
One of the architects of the process.
Is that right?
Oh, that's right.
I forgot he had the Philly ties.
Harris Blitzer.
I feel like they have a lot of low key 76ers ties.
They've got like three or four ex execs
or front office folks from the.
Philly people can weigh in on whether
that's a good thing or a bad thing.
TC, maybe we'll send you to Philly to do some on the ground reporting.
I'm sure they'd love to see you there right now.
Yeah, a lot.
I need to poke around and see if Big Dom is eligible to be a European vice captain with
his Italian.
All right.
Number three, TC, just a couple LPGA news and notes.
Haven't heard from our friends at the LPGA much over in the off season here.
I feel like.
Yeah, they're, they're deep, deep into a, uh, a, you know, executive search right now
to replace the commissioner.
But Meg Adkins over at the Friday egg had a great roundup of kind of three news and
notes.
The Vegas event, uh, I believe the T-Mobile match play is reverting to a full match play this year.
Last year, it was kind of a stroke play into match play deal
and just didn't quite have the same juice. But that's been
awesome out at Shadow Creek. And I'm glad they're going back to
full match play. And then US Virgin Islands, like the
territory will be the title sponsor of the founders' cup.
I gotta know who found that lead.
That's good stuff.
Might be a Dean and a Luke as special.
Exactly.
I think Neil's going down to St. John.
I have to have him do a deal.
He can poke around.
Yeah.
And then lastly, the International Crown, which is like the kind of the team competition
that's each country based on the Rolex rankings gets four, you know, four players in and kind
of a match play deal. They are adding an international wild card team.
The jokers.
Which will ostensibly allow
Brooke Henderson, Lydia Coe, some others that, that come from countries that
don't have the eligibility, you know, like four top players to form a team
that they'll, they'll kind of form their own team. Hudson Swaffer going to be on
that team too.
Roki Sasaki is going to be out there.
Lori Cantor.
God.
So yeah, that's what I got from LBGA.
Number four, I put this one in there.
Nick Dunlap wrote a piece this week for the Players Tribune, which I was not aware that that
was still a thing about his rookie year
titled I Want to Talk About My Rookie Season,
something like that.
I was excited to read this because I feel like
I'm yearning to learn more about Nick Dunlap and what his past year was like.
I know he had a big blow up with his agency that seemed to kind of rock things.
I know he seems like he's in a little bit of a... This is me projecting,
but it seems like he's in a bit of a tough spot, like leaving school and in a pretty lonely spot
after winning the AMEX last year.
And very, very little of that was in this piece.
I'm not pretending like any of that was in there, but it just
got me thinking about him as a player, as a dude, as a piece
of the tour.
And I guess what I'll say to you guys is this.
Like, he was the first player since 1991 to do what he did
to win
on tour as an AM, the first guy since Phil Nicholson to do
that. Seems like a very big deal. Young, promising American
US AM champ, rookie of the year. It seems to me, I don't
mean this one again. He's a two-time winner, and it's just
like I go back to... I know they're not really the same thing, but I go back to
the like the Jordan Spieth hype of just like, man, this is the most fun I've ever had following
golf.
This is unbelievable.
And it just really seems like nobody like, I don't mean literally nobody cares, but like
the hype around this dude is just not there.
And I can't, I don't get it.
Is that just like a nobody cares about anything in golf right now thing?
I mean, that's kind of what I fall back to,
but Solly, does anything stick out to you or am I,
you know, are my expectations too high?
I think it,
taking off the pirate balls hat.
It's a little, it's hurting my head.
It's a little bit of everything.
I think there is, it's super hard to like get really excited
about things currently because of the state of pro golf. Like, I mean, Scottie Scheffler's playing
like the best golf since Tiger and it's still like work to get people to passionately care about that.
Right. So it's like, you know, somebody winning as an amateur is just kind of, it's not going to hit
the same as it did 10 years ago. It just isn't. It doesn't quite have the same flair as Spieth did. You know, kind of, you know,
Spieth was even younger. Spieth also turned around and won the Masters when he was 21 years
old and pretty spectacular fashion after almost winning it the year before. And I mean-
Even if Dunlap won the Masters this year, like I still don't, it wouldn't even be close to the same
thing. But I think it would, I mean, to Sally's point though, I think it would
be a lot more of a validation, right? Like, Mickelson was low AM when he was an AM a few
times at the various majors. Dunlaps played in five majors now. He's missed all five cuts.
That's what, like, this is, boy, you get yourself in trouble, like, saying, you know,
this gets clipped or summarized.
He's won twice in his rookie year, once as an amateur.
That's insane.
But I'm not like, he's not at the level of Town of Spieth.
And his level, his skill is not the same.
He's not the same constant force.
I know Ludwig's a lot older, TC.
I mean, you and I both know
that, but like, like somebody like Ludwig is like a force every single week. Like Dunlap
has had some really good, nice peak weeks. That's going to pay very, very well at professional
golf level. And maybe he can get to a more consistent level, but he's not like a force
out there just yet. He's a guy that has had a couple of great weeks at a ridiculously
young age, but I just don't know if I'm seeing like a massive
talent. Do you know what I, does that make sense?
Yeah, I see, I see where you're coming from. And I don't dispute any of that. I guess where
I'm at is like, I feel like, yeah, on paper, at least all of the on the course stuff, all
the off the course stuff, it just at a time where it doesn't feel like there's that many
interesting stories in golf. I'm like, man, this one seems like it should be, there should be something more there. And
I don't know, maybe that's just, you know, it probably would be smart if he is struggling
with the transition to pro golf at all, to keep people out and not go open up the open
up the books, so to speak. I'm like, you know, here's everything that happened. But I don't
know. I kind of wish he would because I'm dying to know more about him. I feel like.
But yeah, I think that's right. It's like, like give me a reason to yeah. Yeah a little bit. So
Seems like a good yeah
and we spent a lot of time with him or you know a little bit of time with him at the the Walker Cup a
Couple years ago and really enjoyed, you know watching him play and hearing hearing just hanging with him a little bit
and so the piece does touch a tiny bit on like, you know,
his life was upended in like a very, very, what seems like a very, very good way,
right? Where it's like, he was, you know,
supposed to be studying for his stats test and instead he is leaving school and
joining the PGA tour and trying to figure out how to travel and pick up courtesy
cars and, you know,
like go to different hotels and learn new golf courses and all that stuff. It just, it's a, what, I can't imagine what a whirlwind
it was. And I wish there was a way to convey that story to a group of fans who
seems like they could use like a very interesting story right now.
One, I thought the stuff around like him walking around the morning of the Sunday
of the AMEX was really good. Just talking about how nervous he was, cause that's
the stuff that doesn't shine through on television. And again, I'm not
putting a slight at all on his accomplishments. I kind of in a
weird way kind of put him in the same bucket as like Akshay very
different schedules and approaches to getting there. But
like, I don't think Akshay has a ridiculously high ceiling. I
don't think he's a future top 10 player in the world. But like
I'm a believer enough in Akshay's talent to say like
his route to getting there is like, was, was awesome.
And I think he's a, he's a top 50 player in the world.
And I think Dunlap is probably destined for that as well.
But like, Speed was like, dude, no, this dude is already one
of the 10 best players in the world.
I see a top, I see top 10 ceiling for Dunlap.
Ceiling, yes.
Ceiling, I mean, I could see him, I see top 10 ceiling for Dunlap. Ceiling, yes. Ceiling, likely.
I mean, I can see him living in the top 10
for a decade to come if he keeps cleaning up
certain elements of his game.
Like he played really well at some impressive
tournaments last year, like, you know,
up at Memorial, like he played well down in Houston.
You guys know that, that the slaps down there.
You know, like a pretty wide variety, like Quail Hollow.
He played well at FedEx, which was, you know,
like that's a, you can't fake your way around.
So all you take in, if I'm offering you right now,
you can have Dunlap or Tom Kim going forward.
Have you taken?
Ooh.
That's a great challenge.
That's a really good one. I gotta say Tom Kim. I'm taking it. I'm with you. T.C.
Let's go. All right. We can. So this is a good one. I like this
number five here. Just a simple NEPTA. Not enough people are
talking about. So I'm stealing this one from there's a guy on
Twitter call. I think it's an awesome like not guy Eddie. It's
a baseball guy that he always pops up on my feed.
He did.
It's a great little thing he does.
It's a NEPTA.
He does little profiles on guys
that not enough people talk about.
And every time I read it, I'm like,
oh, that's a baseball player that I had no idea put up
on 140 career OPS plus, and you accomplished that, right?
So I want to kind of steal that idea to kind of work in it
from time to time on golfers that not enough people talk about.
And I don't know why I put two seconds of thought into it.
But the first guy that came to mind and not enough people talk about
I thought it's Tom Kite.
I guess and I can learn you guys up a little bit on Tom Kite.
And I'm going to start with I can't spell Tom Kite without time.
I'm going to ask you just a couple of questions on Tom Kite and see where you're at.
How many PGA tour wins does Tom Kite have?
Just PJ tour, not champions. None of that.
Say 12, 16.
He's got 19, 19 tour wins.
How many starts do you think Tom Kim made?
Tom Kite.
Tom Kite made, damn it.
Well, how many of those wins
were against Plumbers and Firemen?
I have to look that up.
They don't mark that on the spreadsheet.
On the Wikipedia page.
How many starts on the PGA Tour?
Say four, 579.
TC's guess of 450 is really close.
436. Oh wait, 436 starts on the champions tour.
He made 714 starts on the PGA tour.
Okay.
Dudes were just playing every event, you know.
Tom Kite made 590 cuts on the PGA tour. He almost got the JJ
Henry exemption twice. He almost got to 600 cuts made for all of that. Would you get it
twice? I don't know. Would that be a question? That's a good question. You should. Yeah.
There should be like a career money type of thing, right? Like the top 25 top 50. Well,
he's not the top. He's not the top 50 mean, he's got a lot of experience in the game. And I think he's got a lot of experience in the game.
And I think he's got a lot of experience in the game.
And I think he's got a lot of experience in the game.
And I think he's got a lot of experience in the game.
And I think he's got a lot of experience in the game.
And I think he's got a lot of experience in the game.
And I think he's got a lot of experience in the game.
And I think he's got a lot of experience in the game.
And I think he's got a lot of experience in the game.
And I think he's got a lot of experience in the game.
And I think he's got a lot of experience in the game. And I think he's got a lot of experience in the game. I'm going to say, uh, I'll say 14 million. It's a, he was the first in tour history to reach 6 million, to reach 7 million,
to reach 8 million and 9 million in career earnings.
He was the tour's leading money winner in 1981 and 1989.
And he was the first in tour history to reach 6 million, to reach 7 million,
to reach 8 million and 9 million in career earnings.
He was the tour's leading money winner in 1981 and 1989. And his career
earnings are $11 million on the PGA tour.
I hope he bought some Bitcoin, Sully.
What?
700 plus cuts and he made $11 million.
590 cuts made. He made 714 starts.
But what year would Tom Kite have joined the tour?
What year do you think he joined the tour?
This one got me.
76 is the number that's in my head.
72.
Really, really good guess.
I mean, the guy won the US Open in 92.
I would have thought he maybe joined in the 80s.
72, that got me pretty good.
From 1979 to 1984, Tom, Tom Kite's worst finish at the masters again, from 79
to 84 worst finish was T6. He went T6, fifth, T6, T5, T5, T2, T6. Then he MC'd in 1985
and was runner up in 1986 to Jack Nicklaus. Also had another runner up in 1986, then he MC'd in 1985 and was runner up in 1986
to Jack Nicklaus. Also had another runner up in the masters later in his career.
Do you remember what year that was? Was it 97? It was 97. He was running up to Tiger
Woods and the 97 masters 25 years after first joining the tour. He's kind of got a cam Smith, you know, cam Smith's on that track. Right.
A lot of, a lot of good masters finishes. He just needs to do it for another like 30 years.
So this is, this is a little harder question. He has 16 top five finishes in majors for his career,
four runner-ups and one win. This is the exact same resume as another player is one of the younger
guys on the champions tour, but currently somebody that we're quite familiar with.
Wait, say that again.
Sorry.
16 top fives in majors, four runner-ups and one win at the exact same as another,
another guy who's a perfect comp.
I think I know who it is.
Who is it?
Jim Furyk.
It is Jim Furyk and that guy, Furyk has 17 career tour wins to Kite's 19,
but almost identical resumes, including the major being the U S open that they won.
And how much did he make? It could be like $75 million.
The government knows about these top five all time. I know that, but
Kite was known for his innovation. He was the first to add a third wedge to his bag. Uh,
one of the first players to use a sports psychologist and one of the first to
emphasize physical fitness for game improvement.
Everyone's seen the photo of him in the underwear working out,
but he was one of the first people to do that.
He also went laser eye surgery due to partial blindness, uh, in an effort,
in a bid to improve his game late in his career.
Like he played most of his career with partial blindness. I mean,
you know, with the big glasses,
but I did not ever know it to be defined as partial blindness.
And his prime, he had few peers, the short irons in 93.
Johnny Miller referred to kite as the greatest short iron player
the game has ever seen.
How about that? That is that is it.
That is not enough people talk about Tom Kite until Pat Reed came until Pat Reed came over. That's right. That's very true. Exactly. God,
that's good stuff. That's good stuff. I always knew him when I was a kid as like,
Oh, he looks just like that guy from Indiana Jones gets melted in, you know, the Nazi guy.
But this is much better. There's a lot of nuggets to keep there. Awesome. Good stuff. So I like
that one. We're going to keep the Nepta, the Nepta holes around. I like that. Not guy Eddie also has some terrible takes on
Louisa rise and wins above replacement and all that. So I don't want to give
him too much credit. But as a rise, is he still in San Diego? I don't think
he's moved yet. Nobody wants him. He's got an elite skill set though. He should join Liv.
He might be the Tom Kim, the wild card. Yeah, he should join that new team.
That's going on. Alright, number six.
TGL, we've got week three coming up.
Sully's beloved New York golf club
against TC's hometown Atlanta Drive.
We've got Kam Young,
Ricky and Matt Fitzpatrick
against JT, Cantlay,
and Horschel.
I think Horschel is going to be the breakout star, the runaway success story of TGL.
I think he's going to be eminently watchable, man.
You might not like watching everything he's doing, but I think you will watch Horschel
at TGL.
I think he's going to be good stuff.
We've got the Temple, the much-vaunted Temple.
Opening hole.
Opening hole this week. We've got expansion., the much vaunted temple opening hole this week.
We've got expansion, anything but a handshake.
Expansion rumors for sports.
Yeah.
Do you guys see this?
Catch us up TC.
I'm a Carly.
He just can't keep his mouth shut.
Like maybe get the technology figured out.
It sounds like I saw a little bit of it.
I was watching, I was watching brother Marty. That when I was down in Argentina, they were translating.
Sounds like that front T-box is a complete mess.
Technologically.
I don't still, you don't see the cat even in his, his, uh, you know,
aged state, you know, you just don't see him blowing wedges, 40
yards over greens, uh, which was, which was like, he cannot be pleased
with that.
Uh, I know you guys touched on it a little bit on, on, like, he cannot be pleased with that.
I know you guys touched on it a little bit
on the midweek pod this week, but yeah, it's, you know,
like, Hey, can we just get through like half the season
before we start floating expansion rumors?
Get the fuck out of here, man.
It's just, it's a, it's quite a concept, I think,
just having multiple of these, these TGL venues just all over
the world.
I mean, it's, I don't know, TZ, if that's the world I want to live in, but it's interesting.
They should tax each team based on like where they're, like what city they're virtually
playing.
Maybe even LA golf clubs getting taxed at a high clip, but there's going to be taxes in the metaverse here as of, as of the time of this podcast coming out. Anything else to follow up on from, from last week, TC? I know, I know you missed it.
I don't know if you caught any other nuggets.
Yeah, I think it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a,
it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a,
it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a,
it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a good thing. I think it's a good thing. I think it's a good thing. I think it's a good thing. I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing.
I think it's a good thing. I think it's a good thing. I think it's a good point. I think that's a good point. I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point.
I think that's a good point. I think that's a good point. I think that's a good point. I think lose like lines for it. I need spreads.
Like imagine if you'd had Juke Links plus 10 and a half
and they're playing that.
If you want those singles to matter,
like give me some points spreads.
I need some full points spreads in this thing.
I agree.
Yeah, I think Juke Links, they're in a bad place.
I think it's a hobby for Kizner.
It was bad TC.
It's really, really, really bad.
Yeah, week three.
Well, let's hope for a close one bad. Yeah. Week three. Let's, let's, let's
hope for a close one. I think if we have a close one, then we can, you know, three weeks
of data and a close match, I think would be a, that then it's time to analysis, you know,
analyze what do we actually have here? But until we have the ball frogs haven't even
teed it up yet. Are they part of the triple header that's coming up? They're weak for
because Rory's got all that travel. Gosh.
All right.
Moving on.
Moving on down here.
Number seven PGA tour.
Two K 25 was announced and kind of teased this week.
Tiger Woods will be on the cover alongside Max Homa and Matt Fitzpatrick.
Maybe a little Excel sports thumb on the scale there for that lineup.
But some of the visuals looking absolutely stunning,
my video game days are well behind me,
but some of the comparisons between this and 2K23
were pretty impressive.
I don't know if you guys have strong thoughts on video games
or what this means or anything like that,
but really just any thoughts on Tiger Woods
still being the cover star, the, the, you know,
icon of the sport at age 49.
I think it more to do with like him being synonymous with the video game to start
with. Like we all played Tiger Woods growing up.
Like it should just be the Tiger Woods branded video game more than it is PGA
tour. So from with through that lens, I think it makes perfect sense.
Like who else are you going to put on the cover?
I think that's right.
Number eight. I don't know if you guys saw this.
This is I think maybe the highlight of my week, but the K.J.
Choi Foundation posted one of my favorite Instagram videos, possibly in years.
We've talked for a long time on this podcast about the hammer drill
that some of the Korean players are famous for doing.
This was a story I think that was I was thinking about this originally relayed to us.
It must have been by Chris Baker, I believe.
Corn fairy tour player at the time who practiced.
Do you want me to play it?
Practiced out.
I don't think there's no real like,
there's nothing really to play.
I mean, I guess on the, on the, yeah,
if you're watching on video, please do.
And if you're not, go to the KJ Choi Instagram, KJ Choi foundation Instagram, which you'll see is just a bunch of
players. It starts with one at a time and then they're all doing it together in
these bunkers, just overhand slamming their wedges directly down into the sand
in this bunker. This is the hammer drill that that Chris Baker's, you know,
relayed to us years ago, where a lot of these Korean dudes
would go out and practice with KJ, largely thought of as
one of the greatest bunker players of all time, and they would
just slam their wedges down into the sand to try to...
I don't really know. I guess I'll flip it to you guys.
What is the point of this drill? As I remember Chris saying it, he was basically saying like, I think it, like KJ's thought is like, it stops the in the bunker, the thump, when you're doing that, you're more likely to create
it when you're under pressure, like trying to hit a bunker shot. I also saw other people
saying it's different things and it's trying to just get more of a vertical motion of hitting
bunker shots and using the bounce. TC, you got any ideas what the hell any of these guys
are doing? I'm going to go ahead and start with the hammer drill. I'm going to start with the hammer drill. I'm going to start with the hammer drill. I'm going to start with the hammer drill.
I'm going to start with the hammer drill.
I'm going to start with the hammer drill.
I'm going to start with the hammer drill.
I'm going to start with the hammer drill.
I'm going to start with the hammer drill.
I'm going to start with the hammer drill. I'm going to start with the hammer drill. I'm going to start right now. It's like, yeah, there's some say it's like, uh, you know, makes you learn how the wedge is bouncing on the sand should feel like, I guess. Um, you know,
it, the, the translation says hitting sand with a wedge bounce, just like hitting the ground.
When catching flies with a fly rod is fly catching training by doing this exercise,
you can naturally learn how to pull the wedge out without digging the sand.
doing this exercise, you can naturally learn how to pull the wedge out without digging the sand.
There you have it. I don't know what could be unclear about that.
Translation from Korea. I don't know if that is a good place.
I'm just so happy that this drill existed and it came across my algorithm. I think actually
Smarton sent it to me, which he really knows, just, he really knows the, how to get right
to my sweet spot there. But, uh, final thing we got on the list here, guys, this wasn't
even my idea. I think TC might've put this on the agenda, but just a, a, a farewell and
a rest in peace to Milwaukee's beloved Bob Euker. A-Rod had a great tribute to him and
all the people of Cleveland in the VHS as a
kid for me was major league two, which is, I don't, I can't technically say is a better
movie, but it's like one of my favorite movies of all time. I mean, my buddy tumor are all
the time. I mean, I'm not a fan of the VHS. I'm not a fan of the VHS. I'm not a fan of
the VHS. I'm not a fan of the VHS. I'm not a fan of the VHS. I'm not a fan of the VHS.
I'm not a fan of the VHS. I'm not a fan of the VHS. I'm not a fan of the VHS as a kid for me was Major League 2, which is, I don't,
I can't technically say is a better movie, but it's like one of my favorite movies of
all time.
I mean, my buddy tumor always quoting from it.
Like I could probably tell you every Bob Euker line from that, uh, which I hate, you know,
he had this legendary baseball career and I hate that he's, uh, I get the sense he didn't
even love being known for the movies as much as he, you know, he's proud of his baseball
career, but just dynamite drop in money. That broadcasting school has really paid off. I just, I, you know, he left
such a huge impact on all these people. I've listened to a bunch of baseball pods and hearing
kind of their eulogies for him and the impact that he had on so many different communities
and all the people that he met over the years. It's a, he truly was a legend. So he's, he's
going to be, going to be missed.
Yeah. He was a, he was a gentleman when he stayed
at the Ritz Buckhead.
The two guys that always stick out to me
that came through there, like all the national league teams
would stay with us, except for the Cubs.
Cubs always stayed at the St. Regis for some reason,
but Uyker and Vince Scully were always the two
that kind of stuck out to me of, oh, you know what?
Like, man, those guys are like
true legends. And then you would see them in the lobby and walk up to them and say hi.
And like, they would just stand there and make conversation and tell stories. And like,
he was truly gracious with his time. And it seemed like, you know, all the brewers kind
of some of their younger people in the front office and with kind of traveling with the
team, you know, he was, he was good to them.
So I mean, Deidre, it sounds like you've heard some of it.
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. You don't ever hear a bad word about the guy. He's like, I certainly
won't pretend. I just moved to Milwaukee like three years ago, so I certainly won't pretend
to have him be the voice of my childhood or anything like that. It was much more of a
major league impression that he left on me as a kid as well, which by the way, like just a bit outside is great, but
following it up with, you know, he tried the quarter and missed is like, it's just, God,
it's so good. But the story that I saw going around this week that just made me, just killed
me, a friend, Brian Anderson, who does a lot of play-by-play for the Brewers and obviously does NBA and TNT and a bunch of other big sports moments as well. He got to know Euker
when he first got the Brewers job and Bob invited him out to go play golf.
BA posted this great write-up of this on his Instagram, which started with him saying,
I don't usually tell a lot of Euker stories publicly because Bob always had a saying,
do your own bits, don't do mine. Which I thought is like,
just a great, just a great line in general,
a great way to kind of look at the world. But the, uh,
the thing that, that Brian said was, uh, you know,
when they first went and played golf together, uh,
he told Brian like when he was first getting to the golf course, like, Hey man,
this other guy that we're playing with, like,
he's going to try to put his, his bag on my cart. And I just,
I don't really want to ride with him. I really want to ride with you.
So just make sure that doesn't happen. Like, please, you gotta, you gotta,
you know, make sure like, I just, I would love to chat with you.
I don't need any more of him. Just please make sure that, that we get that sorted.
And so they showed up to the course and you know,
they're the first two there.
So Brian's bag and Euker's bag get put on the same course and, you know, they're the first two there. So Brian's bag and
Euker's bag get put on the same cart and Brian's like, Oh, thank God. All right. And then sure
enough, they're hitting putts. And he sees the other guy that they're playing with over there,
trying to switch the bags. And so Brian steps in, he's like, Oh, hey, like, I'd really love to ride
with Bob. And the guy just, just not having it. And so he keeps saying like, no, no, no, like,
I really want to ride with Bob. And Brian's like, Oh God, like, I don't want to cause a scene here,
but I don't want to off Euker. And I just met him and you know, yada, yada, yada. So
he finally, BA finally relents and he says, okay, no problem. I'll just, I'll ride in
the other cart. And so they play this round and they're going to the first tee and Bob's
just like scowling at him. Just like, how are you doing? How did this happen? And he said the whole day, he's just furious,
just gruff, grumbling at him and BA's heart's just like in his throat, just like, oh my God,
I started off on the wrong foot. And so the round ends and they go to the clubhouse or whatever
to have a beer. They finally get a moment together, just the two of them. Brian's like,
oh God, Bob, I'm so sorry. I tried really hard. Bob just loses it and just starts belly
laughing. He goes, oh no, man. I told him the same thing when we first got here this morning.
He's like, you should have seen the two of you guys, man. I was hitting butts and you guys are
trying to fight over who's going to ride with me. He's like, that was the funniest
thing I've ever seen. It was just such a good story.
He just let him hang for a couple of hours.
Yeah. That's what BA concluded his story with. He was so committed to the bits. He just sat
in that one for four hours. Then obviously they had a great broadcasting career going
forward after that. So just, uh, that's so good. So no shortage of, uh, of Euker tributes
out there this week, but that there's a golf related one for you.
Um, that's good stuff. Hey, I had two notes that I forgot to get to. One should have been
in my down the leaderboard for the, uh,
Dubai desert classic, uh, David Ford, the amateur, uh,
got out to a hot start in Dubai. He was, he was,
I think leading or, or.
One off the lead shot 65 opening rounds. He went 65, 75, 70.
He was in great shape.
And then this Sunday and he shot 82 on Sunday. I just, I saw the beginning of that movie, but I did not follow up on the ending.
Yeah. And then, uh, Sally, our, uh, our, our friend of the program, Brandon Matthews word
has it that he made an ACE on 18 at seven, which is like part of the brother, not a reachable
par four. So my question to you is, you know, anytime somebody makes an ace on a par four, do you
kind of similar to Jack or Arnie?
Do you send a letter to them?
The group chat just starts blowing up.
You know, we had, we had one more person to the WhatsApp.
Yeah.
Can you welcome Brandon to the brotherhood?
That would be so funny.
Talk about bits, man.
If you, if you legitimately started doing that, anybody who could report getting a hole
in one on a par four, you just you, you're writing them handwritten letters unsolicited from the desk
of Chris Sullivan. Just keep your life on the straight and narrow, son. I'm so proud
to have you in this club.
We get together every year at the Roos Chris.
If you're ever in Jackson.
It should be like a champions dinner. If you're ever in Jacks, I'd love to take you out to my club. God, that's such a good
bit. I think you should start doing that.
Guys, that's about all we got, I think. Just a couple of little look aheads. As I mentioned,
farmers this week is going to be Wednesday to Saturday. Just don't let that one sneak
up on you. And Corn Fairy Tour is already underway underway a friend of the program Luke Guthrie leading up down in the Bahamas there we got we got Shane Bacon James Nitties on
the call gonna be a wild and windy Bahamas traditional Bahamas week two down there so
looking forward to that. Yeah.
Libiotas t3 again off to another absolutely. Yeah coming off a victory I don't even know
if I this Johnny keifer. Keep your eye on him.
I got people telling me he's the real deal.
Johnny Kiefer.
Watch this space. Over on the NLU side of things, I'm going to do a Nest AMA podcast.
We're going to try something a little bit different.
If you have any questions for George Truly that you would like to work in, there's a thread on the refuge for nest members.
If you're not a nest member,
I would recommend going to no laying up.com slash join.
And you can see about that.
And then AMA Stanford.
That's exactly what it stands for TC. Yeah.
So we've done some nest podcasts in the past.
They're like, oh, you know, just ask us anything.
And it always kind of, it gets a little generic. It's kind of hard to ask like a oh, you know, just ask us anything. And it always kind of, it gets a little generic.
It's kind of hard to ask like a group, you know, a question.
So we're like, oh, how about we just keep it one, one specific person.
And there's already like, there's like a ton of really, really good, thoughtful questions in there.
So hopefully that turns into a good, good podcast.
And I'll try to answer any that I don't get to on the podcast over on the refuge.
So other than that, whole crew is going to be heading out to Pebble
about, what is that, a week from today? Golly, that's going to be great. So we are going to be
doing, yeah, we'll be doing some meetings with the whole team out there and then we're going to be
live on the range and kind of around the whole greater Pebble Beach area doing some podcasts,
got all kinds of content that we're looking forward to out there. Uh, and we mentioned earlier, if you have not listened to the Keith Mitchell pod,
uh, I truly, this is not a bit through a lot of talk about bits. Uh,
I don't know the last time we got like feedback like this for a podcast. It's,
it's nuts.
Uh, some of it was pretty,
sure. Yeah. Which we warned people at Keith,
like how dare Keith call that the best coffee shop? That place is mid.
Somebody said his coffee shop recommendation was the most irresponsible thing we've ever
put on the podcast, which is that's a hall of fame accusation.
And I look forward to talking to Keith and seeing if he's welcome back at the Valspar.
Really interested to see how that goes. It's aggressive.
Guys, before we hit the road here,
just two little notes of business
that are going on the podcast feed this week.
The first one, I'm gonna do these out of order,
but actually on Thursday, we are publishing a video podcast
as well if you don't follow our YouTube podcast channel.
But Saul, you and I just chopped it up with Neil, kind of similar to the AMA conversation.
We're like, man, we want to talk a little bit more about our personal golf games.
We don't know how to do it. We don't really want to get just like a roundtable and everybody kind
of waiting for their turn to talk. So instead, we're just going to turn the interrogation light on
one person. The first person is Neil. And we had what? Like an hour and a half conversation with him
just about his golf
background, how he got into the game, his swing thoughts, what
he's working on, what he's afraid of, what he wants to do.
I'd say more than golf games. It's like golf experience. Like
your golf, you know, your view on golf and all that stuff. It
was pretty, it was a lot of fun. It turned out great. So
that'll be out Thursday. Hopefully people really like
that. And then the other one, which I'm going to throw it over
to another little
three minute kind of teaser of now is a KVV's latest
special projects deep dive,
which looks into what's going on with tee times
out at Beth page and kind of a natural followup
to everything he did out in LA.
If you listen to that.
So guys, without further ado,
I'm going to throw it over to me and KVV talking about that. Great being with you and looking forward to
chopping it up more this week. All right, gang, before we get out of here this week,
I wanted to bring in my guy KVV to talk about a special project he's been working on for
gosh, a couple of months now, Kev, isn't that right?
That is correct. We love to look, get a little tips in the tip line and then just work them like a
gumshoe reporter. What? Alright, so this pod is going to come
out next week. It's in the vein of if you listen to the special
report on the LA Tea Times fiasco, the brokers that were
basically hoovering up all the tea times and at LA Muni's and
selling them back to the people. I think from the people who brought you that, bring you this story, KVB.
Give the people just a little bit of an overview of what you're going to be digging into.
KB We did.
You know, we got locked down on the West Coast and now we're headed to the East Coast.
You know, our friends who are in Long Island or the New York area were very much like,
you know, this shit is just as bad over here at Bethpage State Park. And with the Ryder
Cup coming this year to Bethpage, you really need to look into what is going on at Bethpage.
And so we dug around, told a little bit of the history of Bethpage, why it's so important
that this remains kind of like the people's muni. But really, like what we found was a lot of people abusing over the course of the history of Bethpage,
like abusing the T-time system, finding ways to crack into the system, using bots, using
brokers. And we got some, I think, pretty damning evidence that this is happening all
over, like that there not only in-state people are abusing it, but we
think out-of-state people are abusing it too, which is crazy. We've got some really fun
interviews. We got a disguised voice in there. It's been TC's dream to disguise someone's
voice for years. And so we're going to finally bring that to fruition.
This story, I got to listen to the V1 of it, which was edited by our guy, Charles Van Kirk.
Big cans, as many people on this podcast know him.
I was struck by a bunch of things.
It's got everything that I love in a story, which is the history that you mentioned.
You dive deep into the history of the sign and why that's important to this whole story.
I really loved that.
Brought a little Robert Moses in there, the power brokers.
We've got auto dialing phones. We've got a hackers getting into computer systems.
We've got, I mean, it's just, and the, and the disguised voices, like you said,
it just, it's a really fun, really fun story that also might make you mad as
hell. You know, is that a fair summation?
Very much so. If you are a person who believes in injustice, believes in
abusive tax dollars, you might be gripping the steering wheel in a rage by
the end of this pod.
Well, I'm going to, I'm going to give you a pre congratulations on this one
because I absolutely loved it.
I think it's my favorite of these deep dive special reports that you've done.
And I think people are going to absolutely love it, man.
It comes out overnight Tuesday, I believe, into Wednesday here in the US.
And I hope everybody enjoys it.
Kev, thanks for all the hard work.
Thanks for hopping on.
Anything else you want to leave the people with?
Yeah.
I think one of the things that we talked about with this public golf series that we really
have kind of loved so far is like we're telling stories that are different than like pro golf.
Like so much of golf,
99% of people's interactions with golf are not at the professional level. And I don't
want people to think that we're just like looking for scandals, you know, every week,
every month, trying to dig up news. We want to tell some like good stories about public
golf too. So I hope people out there listening, you know, feel like there's a good story about
what's going on, you know, in public golf that they will, you know, feel like there's a good story about what's going
on, you know, in public golf that they will, you know, be like, shoot me an email, be like,
you got to come tell this story. Got to check it out. We're going to be doing a bunch of
these this year. I'm going to be kind of just like, you know, roving reporter, moving, floating
around the country, telling tales about what's going on and what's working in the public
golf space.
If you have a story that demands attention, hit the tip line, kvv at nolangup.com. And
this is like one of those local news things, you know, like KVV fights for you. He'll show
up. You sent him an email. He'll come show up at your golf club and dig into what the
hell is going on.
I'm in Fairbanks, Alaska this week and we are talking about a huge scandal there. They
can't control the polar bears, the Kodiak bears on the course.
We should go to Alaska. That's a whole other story. We can take that offline for another
time. Kev, thanks for hopping on. Can't wait for people to hear the latest pod that you
have spun up for us. Thank you to Solly. Thank you to TC. Thank you to everybody for listening.
