That's tired was hitting. like they weren't even, they weren't even in the realm. Legitimately made me think of the GIF every time of that dude just chucking up threes over the backboard. Like they were not even in the vicinity of the whole.

Who could, yeah, Kioa. He's what I say. Practically a home game for me, Kioa. That's true. That's true. We see how much the home field advantage is paid off this week for Colin Moore, Cala. And Cameron Chan. And Tron, not impressed with Colin Morecow's putting performance. That's fun.

I mean, we're only 75% of the way there. You know, I was a little shook by the same thing at Colonial, right? I believe you said in the, astutely said in the first live show, you know, hey, let's look for some stats. What are maybe some guys doing who are, you know, not used to doing those things.

Well, I guess we're having two different conversations because I'm talking about like, you statistically, you can be really good for four days. Yes.

Where that might be a little little like a total of normal. Yeah. Yeah. Whereas I think what you're saying is like you can't be shitty statistically within the four-day tournament. It's obviously a lot less likely than one for four days. Which that of course I agree with. But can we go straight to Phil just putting Fowdo in a body bag? How invigorating was that?

That was easily the most entertaining hour of the day. If the entire CBS crew was, it was like they had a new lease on life. Everybody was bouncing around and had, you pep in their staff and- Yes, yes. They were playing in the same game. They were playing in their own field of thought.

They were dead. Fowdo didn't speak, I said he didn't speak for like 15 minutes, but you pointed out that he did say beautiful. Yeah, everyone, one of the shifterships with like 10 feet by. It started poorly because he walked into Michelson's little joke like a child wandering into traffic. He's like, what's the third thing? Wait, you didn't say the third thing.

It was so awkward. It was so awkward. And then I still don't get the joke. There were a couple of jokes in there that I didn't get in his defense. One, they're talking about Dustin Johnson's short putting and Phil was like, oh yeah, he hasn't missed one of these in three years and six months,

which I thought was just Phil doing really bad math on Chambers Bay. I think he might have been, was how I took it. Cause that was five years ago, that way it would be close. So I went and looked up what tournament was three years six months ago. Only according to the normal calendar though, which Phil does not subscribe to.

DJ won like a weird mind calendar. DJ one like everything in that month, three years and six months ago. So I don't know what he was, what he was all about. Oh yeah, maybe, you know, he hasn't been quite the same. But then he's, whatever he's doing and then Fowdo's like, oh yeah, like you, Nick, like you were a great lag putter. You always liked it up there and Fowdo's like, yeah, I was on the outside of 45 feet one time, right?

And Phil's like, yeah, you didn't get my joke, I didn't get yours. I don't know what you're going for there, but let's keep moving. I mean, it was definitely an audition. Like, you know Phil wants to be a broadcaster, he likes attention, he likes... I didn't know that candidly. I didn't know that.

I didn't know that. I mean, it's kind of like one of those things, like, you know, Tom Hanks didn't even have to audition for the role when he came in and auditioned anyways. And just blew everyone away. That's pretty much what happened. He did not have to audition. I think Plus Fills lost like 50 pounds for the role,

also. I think Fills wants to, I think Phil thinks he's, he's Romo. He was trying to predict stuff today. I think I just don't think they can pay Phil enough to do it. Definitely don't think they can. They got to give him like ownership,

I was like, all right, Phil is one of the greatest players

of all time. It's the week of a major. He just got done playing the golf course and like, what do you mean? He's just gonna like sit there and like give insight? No, that's a trap. There's just gonna like sit there and like give insight. Like what, no, that's, this is a trap. There's something for sale or there's something like going on. What is, he did talk about the sunglasses.

He did, but he was asked about the sunglasses. I was gonna say, they did the work for him on that one. But it turned out to just be a spectacular addition to the broadcast so Kudos to everybody who made it happen. I don't know if it was just, if it was in audition to replace Fowldo, it could end up being one of the great cuckings of our time and just totally, in real time,

just completely public cucking. Fowldo's your neighbor. He is my neighbor. You worried, like, I mean, he's already been playing tennis by himself out in the front yard. He's driving away by himself and he might have a lot more time.

But the fact that Fauto cited how many, you know, Phil didn't have as many majors as he did, just like proves everything we thought about Fauto, what do you think's about the role?

The fact that, like, I'm a six-time major winner, like whatever I say is gotta be gold. It's gotta be better than what this guy can say, right? How price and running in a 94 footer on 18 to get back in the contention in the first thing Fowl said was to pump his CBS extra. Everybody tune in to my fucking whatever tomorrow where I give him a potting lesson. God, it was a fantastic, it was a body bag.

So, all right, I don't wanna let this distract us from the real issues. Like CBS was fucking horrible again. So you guys got very triggered by this. I'm completely at peace. It just felt like it was ever. I won't let this slide. Exactly, that's the problem.

That's fine if you do that with the PGA tour bullshit. You cannot take the majors away from us. I, this is on you guys for expecting more. Disgrace. There's absolute, no. Oh yes. That is literally the only thing they have done differently than a normal PGA tour event. They kept showing that scenic shot above the clouds and it was like guys, like this isn't even interesting when I'm peering out my airplane window, when I'm bored and you keep showing it to us just in the middle of a montage,

every shot was seemingly taped. Oh, every shot is taped. If you follow a shot tracker, it will prove it. Oh, DJ was like, yeah, I think that shot was like six minutes ago. Listen, there's a lot of guys in the hunt, who knows? I don't know. I'm happy to rip on CBS, but it's not really sport at this point. We say the same shit every week.

There's a lot of commercial stuff. I think a lot of different information. I think a lot of different. They just lost track of half the guys in contention. But for sure. Like it was the do the same thing every week. I don't know what you guys were expecting. That's all I'm saying. I think it's just so jarring after seeing ESPN.

Oh yeah. And you know, I mean, I was expecting different. You could tune into any of the live streams online and you would see more golf on one whole live stream For sure why do you keep supporting CBS DJ? Why do you keep defending them? I'm not defending them I'm just completely apathetic at this point. It's complete nihilism Just yeah, yeah, if you got keep fighting the fight man. What do you think is gonna change? Yes, it was amazing how he just totally unlocked. I thought Dottie got way better. He started throwing it to Dottie, like you've been doing it for 10 years. Ian Baker Finch, who is always kind of, you know, not the most exhilarating guy in the world, totally nice bloke, but every time it's always a lot of like, and here you see this person on this tee,

and even today he's talking, he's given a bunch of insights and playing off Phil and like, hey Phil, what do you think about this, right? Like this is about to do this, absolutely. He and exactly right. I think everybody was coming out of their shell a little bit. It was great. I thought Phil's first 10, 15 minutes,

everyone was praising how great it was, and I thought it was very pedestrian. He looked timid, he just wasn't, he wasn't seeing his lines quite yet. And then he sent it. He got in a groove, started feeling, he was feeling himself, which is my concern. If he's in there for like an extended period,

is that it will get, it's gonna turn into the Phil show. And then I think once you get beyond the initial, like burst of, you know, inertia, when he's going back to the well, it's gonna be like, all right, we heard this one. He thinks he's gonna do it. That was the homework and put in the work. I do. He cares about what people think about his intelligence. Way too much to mail it in. The pushback was like, everybody said that was like the Johnny Miller show, right? Yeah, true.

I would, like, I'm begging for that back. Oh, for sure. Please give me that back. And I think the more Phil, like gets away from playing every week and starts feeling himself, he's gonna start getting into some guys too, I think, which would be the way they can pay Phil. Like there's just no way.

You know, if they let Phil do the CEO interviews, too, that would be the ultimate. Well, I thought you made a really good point about, there's no way he's gonna wanna be on the road. He's probably gonna have to do this either from home. Which they proven you can do this, totally. I think he's played all the golf courses on tour enough times. Like a major would theoretically be kind of the hardest one

because he would have played Harding Bark so much fewer times. But he could do Colonial tomorrow. He could do, you know, all these different golf courses, he's played a million times. But if you did want to go on the road, it's like, man, bring him out there, put him in the program, pair him with like some CEO,

and get him out there talking to guys, like I, he's basically just be like a mascot out there. And talking about, you know, what we were saying after the, was it SVP pod, about, or the Joe Buck pod. Sorry about basically talking, you know, they should have a production meeting. They should get more guys, yeah, you know, talking to players like that's Phil. These are mole. Get them out there. None of this matters because Phil's going to go play the PGL. Yeah, that's very important. Or he's going to do a gap year next, where he, you know, I don't know. All right, we'll see. Leader board. First of all, Dustin Johnson. Honestly, first I'm hearing of this, taking the lead of this golf tournament. He was clear about time.

He was one under when he turned yesterday and then made three birdies in the back. I'm sorry, he was, yeah, one under return yesterday made four birdies on the back nine on Saturday, made four birdies on the front nine today, made four more birdies on the back nine today. 12 birdies last 27 holes to take the lead. So lead nine under par leading the field and strokes game putting that sustainable.

Well, yeah, because he's a great part. How about the historically great butter, DJ historically great butter. He's really good. He's a very good butter. I'm happy. The numbers will bear that out. I mean, he's not like he is live on tour every year, but he's going to love out. He's much better good putter. I'm happy the numbers will bear that out. I wouldn't call him historically I may have overreached on how it but when it counts I feel like a generational lag putter. I feel like Okay, I can't that's what I meant to say. I'm going to have a hard time looking at what I'm going to do. How about the fact that he lost his yardage book? Oh, yeah. That's it.

From on site, he scrambled to try to find it on the first toll. Couldn't find it and had to have shock that he had a backup yardage book. But those dudes do take a lot of notes in there. I don't know how much he uses it. I don't know how much Austin uses it, but... Maybe that's why he played so well. It might have helped him. Who could say? Literally who could say?

It did not get that way. It was just pointy to talk about the existential crisis that was the JT spieth pairing today. Oh, it's time. That was tough. Although I do want to say I don't know if spieth told Greller to go for Cadi or if Greller said, Jordan, I'm

gonna go for Cadi because I don't want fucking watch you play golf anymore. Like, could also just be. Why don't you take a little bit of time to think about what you've done? Catties also do this sometimes where they take different routes than the players take. A guy will go back to AT. And that, they didn't really, they didn't expand on what happened on that at all. He said, he sent Greller to go for Cattie,

which I've never seen before when I've seen plenty of Catties do that. They do it seven and Memorial all the time. of mental physical, right? You can't just have mental problems with the great swing and it go poorly. Like that's not how it works. Like he's not swinging it well. It's not like he had a fundamentally, like not solid swing, but like a fundamentally, you didn't have the technically perfect swing

start with. Yeah, it's like he was coming from a weird place anyway that worked for him. So when that stops working for him, where do you go from that? And it's got to put a ton of burden on the coach, I would think, when that's the case, it's like, all right, we got to come up with another

kind of weird swing that feels perfect to you. Like that's the hardest thing to do. Especially when the coach has worked with him since he was like 12. 12, right? Two things. One, we're overlooking somebody else in the equation who either may need to be fired or maybe need to

Bryson, like, he steered it like 85% of the way there. His post-round interview, he's talking about like, I felt like his demeanor has been different all week. And he finally, he said, I feel like I always like treat myself like I'm an unlucky guy. Like I'm just so unlucky and it seemed like he had found

some perspective on the, maybe that's not the case every week. There's no way that's just people coaching him up on saying the right shit. We could be in the midst of a year of rejoicing. And then he steers it in with, I just wish people would really kind of appreciate what I'm trying to do for the sport exactly It's because of my passion.
