I'm going to be the right club today.
Yeah! That's better than most.
How about him?
That is better than most.
Better than most. Let me just put it right to you guys. Will you apologize? Was that a US Open today that we watched?
Let me first, let me know that.
Two questions are together.
You got to answer.
Before we get to that, I don't know what I'm apologizing for.
Yes, sir.
You're surmising that yesterday was not a US Open,
which was our whole freaking argument.
Before we get to that, before we get to that,
can you show us if you're watching this on the live show, DJ,
why don't you pull up a little graphic for us?
Sure.
The Mac Daddy Cavity back wedges were recently announced
by Calaway, interesting product here.
If you've seen this video that Calaway posted
on Instagram, it explains the concept.
It's kind of like, so I always loved when I had a gap wedge
that matched the set of my set of irons.
A lot of people struggle with the transition
from like their actual set of irons
that hit it far with the cavity back to their wedges.
That's what these wedges are here for.
So I see a lot of hand motions going here from these two.
Well, we just need to shut out Kelvin Benjamin.
Of course, shut out Kelvin Benjamin.
But so this is a set matching wedge combined with the PM grind,
combined with a JAWS wedge.
So a lot going on there.
Again, the thought is that the many players will struggle with the blade
and this makes it, makes for inconsistent distance control. control poor ball striking the Mac daddy CB wedge helps you
With that in your lower lofts. It's something even the better players could take advantage of as well in the higher lofts
The club is designed to help those with struggle around the greens give a lot more
Forgiveness takes a lot of the guesswork out keeps it simple and this club will help you do that
It's got grooves all the way across the face, well-designed sole, plenty of muscles,
so even if you duff it a bit, there's momentum
to get you onto the green.
You can find out more on calveagolf.com,
certified master fitter.
Do you approve of this product?
This idea, this concept?
I do, I do, I'm still yet to hit one.
We gotta get your mic horizontal.
But you love the theory.
Yeah, I love it in theory. Yeah. I think Neal is going
to really like these. I agree. Let's let's get into it. Shall we? No, we shall. You know, we
teased a little bit before the break. We talked about what yesterday was about what today was. You
guys obviously bitched a lot about yesterday. Yesterday was the, yeah, it was the WGC Lexus championship
VGC Lexus Championship, presented by John Cheetle at TPC Westchester. That's exactly right.
And today was the first time that you were open.
So you, okay.
So you, let's start with the positive.
You thought today it was good, great.
But they're still a little easy.
Yeah, I mean, there's still ways we can go, but certainly in the name of praising progress today was a big step in
the right direction.
It's all about you, do you think?
I thought it was honestly today, I thought it was a better setup today, but I had more
fun yesterday.
I just, I don't know what it was today, just didn't really capture me.
I don't know if it was the guys playing poorly or just what it was happening with the leader
board.
I don't know what it was.
It was too easy. There may be just a controversy
of it being too easy yesterday,
helped make for better content or more interest,
but today I struggled to get,
I struggled and muster up any real takes
about anything that happened today.
That's interesting.
Does anybody else feel this?
There's 11 guys on, yeah, even par or better.
How many under par?
There are...
Too many, seven, six.
Six? Okay. There were what, How many under par? There are too many seven six. Six. Okay. There were what 21 yesterday under par. So listen, the field backed up.
They are who we thought they were as far as wing foot. I think we can agree on that.
It got a lot tougher today. Uh, you know, as, as predicted on this here space last
night, uh, we were in agreement on that. We were saying, we weren't saying that it wasn't
going to get harder today.
I was saying I'm not gonna blindly trust the USGF.
Yeah, but, but, right.
We said of course it's gonna get harder today.
Like it has to.
You guys also poo poo the idea of wind,
which, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not buying the whole thing.
No, I don't think we poo poo the idea of when we just said,
like it was an easy setup with or without wind yesterday.
The pins were easier. The greens were, were, were, were, the was an easy setup with or without wind yesterday. The pins were easier.
The greens were, were soft.
The pins were easier yesterday.
Yes.
The greens were softer yesterday.
Yes.
Wind also contributes to greens being less soft.
I never argued that like wind isn't a massive factor.
I'm saying like a seven or eight mile an hour wind, like what was forecasted yesterday?
Wasn't, that wasn't the end all be all.
That shouldn't have dictated.
Yes.
Them keeping us off.
Correct.
I agree.
And we all agreed with.
Yeah.
We can move off of yesterday, I think, unless there's more to unpack.
Let's talk about today.
Because it's all you said something very interesting in that you didn't think it was enjoyable
today.
I actually, I had more fun watching today for a couple of reasons.
I think it's more fun to watch guys hang on for dear life.
It was fun to watch JT's round today, I thought,
where he clearly didn't have it
and couldn't put himself in the fairway.
And then all of a sudden he's on his back foot all day.
I thought that was really interesting.
Watching Reed, I know he did this yesterday too,
but watching him get up and down from everywhere
and just really making it work.
When he wasn't hitting greens, I thought it was really cool.
Yeah, I don't know.
I have a bigger macro take.
I don't want to, you know, ramble too long,
but I think with what technology has done
and like there's, you know, it's a different game
that we're watching, we talk about that all the time.
But I also think when the cat is not the lightning rod
of content on Thursday, Friday at a major,
like I don't think any of you guys in this field
have enough juice to carry this thing for four days.
The rib might, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my,
The rib would, yeah.
I was, we were kind of talking about this earlier as to,
when I, if Patrick Reed goes on to win this,
if Bryson goes on to win this,
I don't have to frame that for anything.
I don't know what that means.
Like if Jordan's sp speed were to win this,
I would feel like I'm watching like some somebody,
ignoring all of his past struggles.
Like if he was in a good, in good form coming in
and would win this, I'd feel like I'm watching,
you know, somebody take a Hall of Fame career
all the way to the next level, start.
Speed has the juice.
Start entering the Watson, Trevino categories and stuff.
That would stir what?
That would feel like something.
Rory, having not one in six years, that would feel like something rory and having not one in six years that would feel like something I don't feel that with
the guys at the top leader board today it might just be an overall coverage take there
might just be I just felt they were all over the place I got no real rhythm for anyone's
round they didn't really take any time to explain the shots very well the slopes and they
just didn't build going into the weekend weekend where the leaders are, you kind of progressed
through a golf course instead of being all over a golf course.
I have more faith that they'll be able to tell that story better
and kind of eliminate a lot of other of the riff raff
you got to get in the first couple days.
If they're like a golf channel Friday production
on the West Coast swing.
I think so where I come out of it from, I enjoyed today,
I thought I enjoyed it a lot more than yesterday. I still like I want Saturday and Sunday to be the fucking apocalypse
I mean, I wanted to be the book of preach at TC. I think I think the curve like looks like this
I don't think it's getting I don't know if the weather's gonna be
Tesso's when they when the players start when the players start grumbling when it gets borderline unfair
Which I don't think anybody would say today was I thought today was like an awesome test
Yeah, I still think it could get like the Greens could get firmer and I thought the pins were a step in the right direction
But overall I'd like to see
I don't know I just like there's still you know read shot 70 Bryson shot 68 like there were
Hedecki shot 69 Bubba shot 69 like there were still good scores out there. What was the low-round today?
68 I'm just saying.
No, that's fine.
That's fine.
So going back to the case yesterday.
Did not think it'd be the big golfer.
I made that prediction last night.
That's where I'll hand out on that.
I'll take.
Will apologize for that one.
The macro take is that like, like, yeah, like all these tiny little changes add up to like very
big effects on the results, right?
Like the 13-hour win to the USJ is not tiny though.
Aside from the win, the USJ is painted themselves into a corner with how fine the lines are
because they've refused to do anything about the golf ball or the heads or anything
like that. So it's like, yeah, like a tiny, like everything's already on the edge because it has
to be. So, you know, they've-
Shout out to Zach Johnson.
There's no, there's no, like, there's been no leadership from them over the last two decades.
So it's like, this is, this is their bed. And then they choose to do all this blood, sweat, gore stuff on their whole brand platform and then say,
oh, no, that was just a brand platform.
That's not actually the reality.
I didn't realize they were selling hoodies that actually
said golf's toughest test.
Exactly.
What do you fucking stand for?
RIP Sanditatum, by the way, a vacuum of leadership.
What was it? We're not trying to embarrass them. We leadership. What was it we're not trying to embarrass them,
we're trying to identify,
we're not trying to embarrass the best players in the world,
we're trying to identify the best players in the world,
which I kind of think they did today.
I wanna push back on some,
you said I find it interesting as far as,
you know, somebody getting a win,
like I think Bryson breaking through it a major would be
a huge story.
I did too.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, I think that's one of the three biggest stories, two biggest stories, maybe
biggest story.
I think Reed, Reed winning a second major would be, like, Reed seemed like the quintessential
US open.
This is one that makes a lot of sense when you look back.
I'm like, I appreciate to pick that.
To clarify Randy, I mean, like for a Friday afternoon, I don't need to like watch, price
and go wire to wire or something like that.
I'm not watching him battle demons
or expectations or history.
If Rory stayed out in front today,
I would have been glued to it because it's like,
all right, here we go.
We've seen this before from him.
We have this database of memories from him
and we're about to add to it.
Maybe, can he overcome this bubble?
I don't feel that watching price on on Friday.
I think we're in a slightly different era.
Like we're in a transition era right now.
Shout out to government.
Of course, shout out.
We're in a transition era right now
as far as the game and the tour and everything.
I think something else that makes a huge difference,
we talked about this a little bit offline was like,
the fact like there's no context for this event.
It just feels like it's like bolted on to the end of the season.
After we've watched these guys play four or five months aside from the PGA of like meaningless golf tournament,
like essentially meaningless golf tournament. It's just for a shitload of cash. And it's
like, but credit to the PGA tour. They had good fields for all these tournaments. All the
top players played with the exception of cat in most of them. And so we've felt like all
these guys have been battling week after week after week. We're kind of desensitized to it. And everything just feels like a soulless
WGC cash grab at this point. And this is where Fox was so important. Like different music.
I know it's different music, but like different people, different voices and they, it was their
super bowl and they treated it like it. And it does not so far. It is feels like exactly
like a normal PJ tour. I've totally point taken to on something you said about, you know, you just don't have
the memories and that buy-in with guys like a Rory or a Tiger.
Like, they still have to show enough of Tiger and Phil to make people happy.
But I will say, you know, it starts with, if Bryson wins this week, all of a sudden maybe
down the road, that's how that equity gets built.
So I totally agree with you,
but I'm hoping, maybe this is a stepping stone
for some of these guys.
And for sure, and I'm in on the Bryson storyline,
I'm in on the read one,
I'm just saying for a Friday,
that's why I felt a little,
just kind of like, eh, yeah.
Well, that's didn't quite scratch the edge.
Totally, no, I completely agree.
And that's where I think,
that's where I was going out with the with the Tiger stuff is
Even since let's say 2010 when it was kind of like every major had this cloud of I don't know
Like is he gonna do it or is he not gonna do it and like no matter what he shot it was fascinating
Yeah, and today it was like Tiger shot what 78 not good, but 76 something like that
So like honestly like I don't even need to see it.
Like, take it away.
I'm good.
And without that, you know, intrigue,
like, then all of a sudden it's like,
fuck, man, we gotta show 50 guys.
And like, how are we gonna make any of these guys interesting
when you can only show one of their shots every, you know,
12 minutes?
It's really, so I feel for them on one hand,
but on the other hand, it's almost like,
man, you just gotta kind of commit to a guy.
Like, if they would have, this is very TV production
like outside my depth, I know, but if you just commit
to Bryson in the morning, and it's like,
dude, Bryson's our guy, and you show him between holes
and you show him lining up shots and you show like,
what is, you know, you hear the caddy conversation,
what's he trying to do with this blah, blah, blah,
then it gets more interesting and it gets,
it does suck you in.
And even if you don't think it does, it does.
They have the power to do that, I think.
But they can't because they have so much to show.
But I'm gonna push back because one, I don't know
if Bryce wants part of feature group.
So they do have a couple of avenues where if you're looking for that,
you can find it.
Definitely not.
And to play Devil's Egg Advocate, they latched on to one guy
and that guy happened to play poorly.
No, exactly.
Absolutely, of course.
We're totally right. And that's what I'm saying. It's kind of a no-win happened to play poorly. You would. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. We're totally right.
Yeah, yeah.
And that's what I'm saying.
It's kind of a no-win situation.
Yeah.
He just got to guess right.
It stinks.
The thing that's really killing this is that like,
speech sucks right now.
Tiger is aging.
Phil is aging.
Like, think about this.
Capca's not even here.
Like, we're in a point where, and this is like,
four guys who would bring a ton of juice.
I think, so going back, DJ, we were talking about this earlier,
I think this is a salient point from you as well.
I don't need to see Tiger grinding to make a cut
or I know he's gonna miss a cut.
I don't need to see him,
like the people that are getting their hopes up
for him to contend in every single major and everything.
Like it's just, all you're doing is like
selling your memory of him and setting yourself up
for disappointment.
Like that's not gonna to happen these days.
And I get it that this is a major and not, you know, there's a lot more casual fans
tuning in and a lot of the casual fans only care what tigers doing and I get that.
But yeah, from a super hardcore fan, it's just like, man, if you're, yeah,
if you're if you're hitching your day, I live in a diet.
Living a diet on what tigers doing.
Like, I think it's easy when you're, he's in a group with JT who is leading. Like, yeah, if your just gonna be like, I'm just gonna be like, I'm just gonna be like, I'm just gonna be like, I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like,
I'm just gonna be like, I'm just gonna be like, I'm just gonna be like, I'm just gonna be like, I'm just gonna be like, I'm just gonna but like, you need to get ready for that. Yeah, but it's like just, just accept it. Like, I'm not saying he's done, I'm saying he's anything
but done, but he's gonna be, he's gonna be so like,
all course.
He's like, this is Cicadas, man,
he's gonna come out like every, every 27 months or so, you know?
I want to talk about Reed here in a second,
but first I want to check in with our friends
who have been making some splashes on the telecasts,
our friends at WoopP, their first nationally
televised commercials. If you're not familiar yet, WOOP Fitness Wearable provides you personalized
insights on the performance of your sleep. How recovered you are, how much stress you put on your
body, blah, blah. Biggest lot of questions from people that are like, hey, stuff's just like pro
athletes, right? Like, why would I use it? The commercial doesn't help that messaging, I would say,
which is why I'm saying there needs to be an alternate commercial That includes some of our recovery scores that we get when we travel, but
We've talked a lot about how the benefits of wearing this thing and how having data on your heart rate and how your body's
Recovering and how crucial it is and how it kind of pushes you towards working out. I think the kid at a 99%
I know the kid at a 99% recovery today. You are truly the 99%
You your sleep study last night. I don't know. I'm a little worried about today. You are truly the 99%. Did that skew your sleep study last night?
I don't know, I'm a little worried about that.
A lot of messages about the sleep study.
You know, I don't have the results back yet from that,
but I've never hit 99%.
Very cool.
My body was ready to take on strain today.
Did it?
No, but it was completely ready.
Imagine how ready you're gonna be tomorrow.
Completely ready to put on strain, so.
I already know I had a wine class last night.
Our recovery's not nearly as good. Wine is the whoop killer. Wine is a killer. Yeah.
Even more so than liquor. It is. Wine is just straight up. Wine will knock you down.
I'm sugar and wine. So whoop is offering 15% off when you use the code NoLayingUp at checkout.
Go to whoop.com whop.com. Enter the code NoLaying laying up say 15% sleep better recover faster and train
smarter with whoop today i had a 75% recover last night it kind of fooled me i didn't feel
like i slept that well but my body recovered couple one percent last week too i've had three
one percent now really over unbelievable you're true grinder almost as many one percent as you'll
find in your wingfoot chats
That you wingfoot group chats that you're in exactly. What are we thinking the golf course today?
I'll just say we talk about the rumor that the wing foot super crew
I kind of bullshit. I'm in on like just stirring shit up like that
That's what I was trying to do last night on Twitter. I'm like do wing foot members should apologize to everybody
Or the USGA should apologize to them,
like just trying to get that,
because it seems like a group of just complete lunatics.
Right.
The pride, I kind of get it,
like a little bit, like you're pride in your golf course
and it being difficult,
but it's also really funny to laugh at.
It's like so fun.
It's like, oh, think of the members, how mad they're gonna be.
It's like, all right, come on.
It's a real members club, too.
No tea time.
Well, then show up again.
You should see the shower pressures, just unbelievable.
But I think it kind of goes back to the tiger thing, and this is, we're making this joke
a bunch today where it's like, when you don't have that one dominant storyline, like honestly,
you might as well at least let's get some course controversy here.
Let's get something.
That's why putting those guys on the clock.
I know.
They didn't even say it on the telecast.
Either you're listening to PGA tour radio.
Shout out to the chief Dennis Paulson on PGA tour radio
when I was going to get a Poke bowl.
Yeah, he was like, oh man, they just,
they totally told these guys to pick up the pace
as they walked off six.
They're a hole behind.
And then read just like sniped one
on seven, it was-
Justine's gonna be livid tonight on Twitter.
Likely, yeah.
Or Facebook.
When do they put the pins on the right?
Is it tomorrow or Sunday?
Do they wait?
I think it's tomorrow.
I think it's tomorrow.
I think our favorite-
Get out front of it.
Our favorite controversy in golf
may be dusted off tomorrow where, you know,
the governing body's hate patch agreed,
so they're gonna put all back right pins,
so he can't get to any of them with his draw.
Well, they weren't trying to get at Reed or Spieth,
they were trying to get at Hideki, right?
Well, of course, well, that would be the Augusta.
Yeah, but I feel like that's everybody.
All these traveling bodies.
So I don't know who they were gonna penalize in that group,
there were no teenagers in the group.
That's a really good point.
I mean, what?
Do you think they just firm it up more tomorrow? You think it
plays similar tomorrow? I don't think we're going to have the same wind. I think it's
going to blow in tomorrow. Really? Oh, it's going to be a little warmer, right? No,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, has come in a completed play. The whole pace of play. Thank you.
That's the best way to pass through today.
It was such bullshit.
That didn't pass a smell test from the start.
That was somebody.
Oh, they got a ring water for the US today.
They got a ease up on it.
They got a ease up on it because they're not going to finish.
You know what?
They didn't finish anyway last night and you know what they did do today.
They finished today.
Yeah.
How about that?
That was the dumbest.
That makes me.
I'm mad as hell about that. You're telling me, Andy.
I wonder what happened there in those last few groups because when we were, it was 20
minutes of daylight left and there was a couple groups that had four holes to play, but
no one was in shouting distance of the cut.
So I'm wondering if there was some rushing into finishing.
We've also started this earlier tonight than we started the last night.
That's true. Well, I think we waited till the end we started the last night. That's true.
Well, I think we waited till the end of the broadcast last night.
Yeah.
But I feel like they were in a very similar spot
to where they were yesterday.
Can we talk about JT?
Sure.
You're overnight later.
Salah, I believe you came in and said,
quite around a golf by JT today.
And I think maybe we amended that
to quite a score of golf by JT.
Yes.
That was three fairways.
I think he hit three fairways.
I think he missed a fair on 18, 18, eight and nine.
No, he hit eight missed nine.
So I think it was three fairways.
Three.
I can confirm.
I can now confirm it is three fairways.
All precincts are before that.
To shoot three over, honestly, is really good.
I can't tell that's an, it's kind of a dizziness.
I know, I know a dizziness.
I know a dizziness.
It's kind of a damning thing.
I don't like the, yeah, just grow the rough up people too.
Oh, yeah.
That's where I was a little bored today was like,
what we're talking about in the preview of,
if the greens are gonna be like firm,
it's gonna be difficult and the wind's gonna blow a little bit,
like the rough is almost a bit unnecessary.
It just, it cheats you out.
Totally with you.
And 38% of the field hit,
the fairways were headed at 38% clips today.
Which is like, what's, what are we doing off the tee?
Like what is, I don't know,
but I honestly, I can't answer that question
as to, does it pay to be super long?
It would appear to be, does is there any benefit
to being accurate?
Is there any benefit to laying back?
I can't tell from watching it.
And that just seems, I don't know,
every year at the US Open it's like,
premium on accuracy, you gotta hit fairways
if you wanna win the US Open, it's like, do you?
I feel like nobody ever actually goes back
and looks at the stats at first.
Yeah.
I'm so confused.
I'm like, yeah, Cory Pave, man.
But it's,
I'm everyone he won.
Yeah, I gotta be accurate.
I mean, that's the whole Augusta thing, right?
Like, they're just,
just no rough,
I hit it anywhere and it's all in the greens.
I mean, it seems like if there's one US venue,
like Wingfoot would be one of those venues
where the greens are enough of a defense.
On that note, let's get you a shout out.
The ball is there.
The price of half of his fairway is there,
which is, you know, and he's pounded.
Yeah, mega in the top.
And then, and then also like,
Brendan Todd being T7,
he's not pounding it down. He was on my short list as well
If people shout out both it's got to be a shout out because he's playing great and contending really in a league where like he
Shouldn't be you know like he hits it so much shorter
But he puts it so good and hits it so straight that he's contending that's awesome
But that was one of the most egregious shirts I've ever seen in my life felt like
awesome, but that was one of the most egregious shirts I've ever seen in my life. It felt like, just sweet like, bonobos knock off.
It was just horrible.
Assistant coach at a pro bowl was the best suite I've ever had.
If we can go back to set up and we're at the little hosting, I'm like way, way in with
you guys is like, if they would have made it wider, which apparently is as wide as it normally
is, they didn't really narrow it.
But if it plays wider, it's why the members play this way.
Exactly.
And if they would have super firmed up the greens
and buried those pins in corners,
I'd have been so freaking in.
It would have been so fun to watch.
A ton of guys come in from the fairway
and not have routes to the hole
and get rejected, have balls roll back down slopes.
I would be so, so in on that.
That's why I'm so over all these bullshit,
like look how long the rough is,
it's like rough porn all week.
It's like, who cares, man?
Tough phrasing on that.
You said you'd be really, really in on that thought.
I would do these, got appetites.
Would you say, would you say you'd be all in?
All in.
All in 2020, baby.
You know what I'm saying?
There's like two guys who need to be talking about tonight.
And that's Kochrack, hashtag CokeRack,
and your boy Harry's English.
Well, yes.
I think yes, and then there's,
when we get to later in the program,
I think there's some guys that are putting together
very interesting weeks.
Before we wrap JT, I just wanna say,
when he flipped over and then turned over and doubled one,
he was five over the day,
back to even had given back everything
he had gotten the first day. That could have gone two gone two ways and it was like everyone's gonna have a stretch during the us open where things go very poorly
And that was his ten whole stretch
It was like he could have faded back into oblivion and from then on he then on he played two under and got himself right back in the
Turn of these t3 two shots back
He birdied seven and the way he hit that drive on eight was
Stealing you know, that was impressive.
I'm really looking forward to see if our boy can grind.
I am too.
And me and Randy had a good conversation about this, you know, you kind of said like really
super firm, hard golf courses.
He hasn't really been the guy.
And I don't think if you just open really in general, I know he played well at Aaron Hill's
obviously, but it hasn't really been the guy.
And it's kind of one of those things like, yeah, that's gonna change at some point in his career, right?
And it seems like it's gonna be this week, but.
It's got, we'll see.
As much as we're laughing at the driving stats,
like JT's got to drive it within the corridors.
Yeah, yeah.
If you're outside the corridors,
you are in big trouble.
He got his bad, I mean,
maybe he got his bad round out today.
That's what I'm thinking.
That's what, if he's...
That's what I'm hoping,
based on my pre-round bets.
If he scraped 73 out of his bad round on a pretty difficult day, I feel good about his chances.
Can we talk about co-crackers? Yes, please. We fucking laugh at co-crack all the time and let's
laugh. Such a good season. Let's laugh again at the Instagram post, which if you're watching this
live, you can see on the screen. I'll read the caption for those who aren't. It's him staring
seductively, I'll say. Edgesingly?
Not menacing, there's a softness to it, I think.
It's aggressively seductive.
Aggressively seductive, really, really well said.
In what looks like kind of a chainmail type of sweatshirt,
almost like some sort of knight,
says all caps all in 2020, my year, my time, my move,
I've got pocket aces, pocket kings,
and pocket queens what games he playing
Hashtag try me hashtag lives again. Well hashtag co-grack hashtag pga hashtag play to win hashtag live at mgm at live at mgm
Probably the goat Instagram post we love making fun of Jason
For being a kind of a prototypical bombing gouger
He is playing super proper golf right now and I was I was thoroughly
impressed and just wanted to get that off my chest. He played great. Oh, I mean, he meant
to easily, right? I mean, he had a good who could possibly he had a good run of cards.
All right. He stacked up chips. You know, as a bunch of guys were trying to grind him to,
you know, make the finish and the money. He was stacking up chips and bullying him now
with will that run of cards last, you know, with some proper players going up against them.
Maybe have some tells on them some reads. Also also he's shot the blinds go up tomorrow the blinds are absolutely going up
We know that he's also playing on a extremely reflective table
Uh in this Instagram post really seems like other players could probably see his cards
Well, I like to apologize. He did not make it
Can they can have a bad beat?
Can they see how that he has six cards?
Cause, a couple of people are saying,
hashtag 78 tomorrow, possibly.
Can I, let's, let's get you guys on the record.
What is, what is co-crack shoot tomorrow?
76.
74.
Yeah, I'll split the difference, 75.
I'm going 71.
Why not?
I was impressed at it.
Hopefully, no, 75 will be okay.
I know, I know, I'm saying he's gonna shoot an exceptional round of 71
I want 80 to be a good score tomorrow. That's the dream
Okay, let me will know our work is done. We need to apologize for Rafa
I suggested Rafa last night. You also suggested Ricky. So those cancel each other out
Ricky Richard 77
Fine, that was pretty good score. That was a pretty good score.
That was a good score today.
That's like the raw scalar.
We're five.
Many people asking who has a bigger ego,
Bryson or the wing foot membership.
Yes.
Yes, moving on.
No, what was I going?
You know what Bryson's post-traumat interview today
just reaked of someone that was like,
OK, yeah, I've been getting a lot of shit.
I'm gonna be super likable today.
It was like, yep, just smiling at the camera, smiling like,
just fairways and greens and making putts.
I actually see it.
God quote?
That was sick.
He's into, he could be activating God mode tomorrow.
Someone said, something like blah, blah, blah, blah,
you've put on all this muscle.
Can you impose your will out of US open?
And he said I believe the quote was quote
That's a question for the gods and then he amended it to that's a question for God
So he's a polytheist. Yeah kind of a polytheist monotheist situation going on possibly
Dude, we're talking about read because no that was
Dude he's doing the same thing as when he wanted a gust
and everybody's laughing.
Laura.
Everybody's laughing.
I like, oh, he's trying to hit a cut.
And then he just keeps doing it.
Yeah.
He drove it.
And I'm like, yes, it was sweet.
It's completely unnecessary for the helicopter finish,
though.
Can we acknowledge that at least?
How good was the, the, the lie he got in the rough?
A lot of people commenting that he seemed to get, quote,
a lot of good lies in the rough today.
Oh, yeah.
Some of them were even, like, even before left the tee box,
they were like, that's a crazy good lie.
Yeah, justine's hiding in the five inch rough down there,
propping it up for us.
And keep justine's name out of your mouth.
Randy, how far back's too far back, man?
Oh, God, I'm glad you asked.
I almost like, I'm gonna throw something out there
that you guys can feel free to throw it back,
but I almost like some of the guys at plus one,
plus two better than I like some of the guys under par.
I know.
I almost rather be like, like, Web Simpson, 71-71,
you talk about a guy who I think's gonna hang around.
Made a couple, he pulled a couple of puts out of his hat today.
Lucas Glover's same deal, they like, I can't make putts.
I'm looking at those guys.
Like a two foot putt on one, that was sick.
I know.
What about Ram?
I was gonna say, what about Roger Ham?
Well, no, I don't like him.
He stinks at golf.
I think burger and DJ too.
I think they're at three.
Hopefully they're paired together tomorrow.
It'll be like snooping.
Snooping Chris Partlove for the wire.
They could be people and making it.
There's a lot of people up there that could be put
into vacance tomorrow if the Candidities ramp up.
To answer your question though, honest to God,
I think if somebody in the five, five over six over
goes out shoot 69 tomorrow,
I think they're gonna be really good spot heading into Sunday.
DJ, do not sleep on DJ.
Not even close to out of it.
Don't forget about DJ.
Guys, there's another guy who's at plus three.
We haven't even mentioned yet.
We're in.
The rip.
The rib looked bad.
He looked awful.
He looks like, he looks like Jermarkas Russell.
I don't think he can grind.
Not, I'm not straight up.
I'm not buying what he's selling.
We've said it, we've said it this whole time.
All his US opening one was soft.
Chen Ka, he, it's not a real major.
It was a big, very concern.
It was a big, very, very, very, very, very, very,
I don't think he thinks it's there right now.
Yeah.
Two things I want to highlight for, for people
that might be, you know, halfway through the tournament,
we usually like to look who's putting out of their ass
for the first two days and maybe might fall back to Earth.
Patrick Greed's gaining five shots on the field
on the greens right now.
That, he's got to hit a little better.
I know it's everyone's crazy in his short game. He's a great putter. He is losing strokes off the tee right now.
I don't think you're going to win the US Open.
Do it.
Losing strokes off the tee.
Rafa Cabrera-Bale gaining almost seven shots on the greens and Jason Cocrack gaining
almost seven on the greens.
Loki, like the best stat line, the most complete golf that has been played so far.
Can you name it?
The big golfer.
Yeah, that was my guess.
Gaining, like almost leading the field off the tee. Gaining, like, the most complete golf that has been played so far, can you name a decky, the big golfer?
Yeah, that was my guess.
Gaining, like almost leading the field off the tee, gaining on approach, gaining around
the green and gaining three on the green.
How many strokes is Hideki losing on the greens?
He is losing 1.3 strokes on the, he's the only one on the top 10 that's losing strokes
on the green.
But that's about crazy.
He made a couple of puts.
Well, so if the greens get more difficult, I actually like his chances.
I agree with everybody.
If nobody's, if nobody's got the puts, yeah, I want to, Randy, I want to ask you about
a guy that we saw out there today.
Coach Patina.
Oh my gosh, it was great to see Coach be able to get out of his sarcophagus under those
overcast guys.
It was sunny this afternoon.
Count Patino and I know they showed him later in the day.
I was worried.
Over his eyes.
Yeah, I'd be I was they have been bombing for some of those people should I hope they were
really opening up their nasal passages garlic bread.
Yes, the end of something was was burning.
But yeah, coach Patino, Count Patino,
somebody glossed on Twitter.
Yeah.
What a guy.
What a world.
Can we just come back that guy?
Oh my god.
We just need to get that shot at that.
He and Papa.
And JT, those are JT's guys.
Right, because they're from Louisville.
They're from Louisville.
That's bad, bad boys down there.
Can we give a shout to Steven Yeager, T12,
qualifying through the corn fair,
through the corn fair qualifications?
That's wild.
Consider yourself shattered out.
See, Yeager.
Also, 30 minutes in, 31 minutes in,
no mention of this guy it's probably gonna win
the golf tournament, Zander Shoffley. Hmm.
Or is Zander's dad?
We haven't mentioned wall for Peters yet either.
We'll backtrack in a bit today.
Yeah, they both did, but through up a little bit.
They're both near.
Yeah, we'll talk about Peter shot 41 on the back nine.
That's gonna hurt.
Not good.
That's gonna hurt.
What about Joaquin?
Did Joaquin say?
He didn't dominate today.
He didn't dominate.
But he's right in it.
And talk about what is he, still 21?
He's super young.
Grabbs a US Open.
I know this, gosh, I feel like, you know,
sports talk radio guy who has the one note card
for each guy, but Joaquin hits it so low, man.
If it keeps firming up and stuff,
like isn't that the exact opposite recipe of what?
It's super straight.
Of what you want.
He does, but I mean, if they're gonna tuck pins
like the boys are calling for and Royal Melbourne
was not pretty.
That was not good.
No, it was really mooch-o-not good.
Guys, if we're gonna talk about guys
and that plus one plus two range,
we gotta talk about Fino.
Do we though?
I thought you were gonna say.
Mr. Fini, off.
He's that was, that's sneaky.
And he hasn't made anything yet.
And Finaus not gonna make anything,
just for the record, I said this to you guys earlier,
I don't, I don't know of any pro
that I see that just throw up just straight bricks
like he does, just misses about like five cups
from range that you should be like burning edges
at minimum.
It's someone called Petito Koshferatu,
which is, which is really good.
Who helps? Renato Parator. It's someone called Petito Cochferatu, which is really good.
Who helped? Renato Perator.
I would not count him.
I don't know.
I didn't roll him out.
He's plus three, seventy-one, seventy-two,
super consistent.
Sure.
Let me ask you guys, if there's any, I'm not suggesting there is,
but if there's any bit that you guys are doing as far as
coarse that up goes, all I would ask is you just spend it
for this question.
Okay.
What?
Assume that there's no world where you can just say,
like, yeah, just make it hardest fuck every day.
Equally hard as fuck every day.
Wouldn't you want it to escalate throughout the week?
Yeah, but you would want it to be a similar,
at least somewhat similar.
With a standard deviation to be smaller.
Exactly.
And yesterday, like, they started out too easy yesterday.
Yesterday would have been like, I don't know.
Today, I don't want anybody under par after two rounds.
Yeah, we'll talk in slope.
It's a matter of slope.
It's all relative, right?
Yeah, it's answering your question.
I'd rather it escalate than de-escalate,
but I'd like to flatten that slope out.
We don't need to be going up at a sharp angle.
I honestly kind of love the Ricky Barnes watch
that goes on like somebody gets way out
and gets it apart and like watch him slowly creep back
and just try to hold it on.
You know, with the cameras on you every shot
and all that, like I'm totally, totally go.
And that's where after thinking about it,
and I said I wanted to see two rounds
before I would really make a judgment on the setup,
and listening to what you guys are saying,
and you can call me a USJ Homer if you want.
I feel like we've made fun of everything USJs.
You're never in your,
I feel like we've, what can I say that,
what can I say, fuck the augmented reality app,
fuck the all the commercials they've done
about growing the game. You did join the Victory Club, right? That's not true, fuck the all the commercials they've done about growing the game.
You did join the Victory Club today.
That's not true, fuck the Victory Club.
As a crew.
The VC.
No, I'm trying to think of what I can,
I have nothing against or for the USGA,
but I kinda, I like the setup.
I really liked how it's been.
I liked how it was yesterday.
I like, I'm with you.
I keep it escalating, keep it ramping up
and I hope Sunday is brutally difficult.
I just think we get eight,
so Sunday they're not gonna wanna leave a really shitty taste
in these guys' mouths.
They're gonna go hard tomorrow
and then they're gonna dial it back Sunday.
And the other thing is, my biggest tenet this week is...
Anybody see tenet yet?
No, I want to.
I want to see it as well.
Is it good?
I haven't seen it.
I don't know. Well, I mean, like the reviews and stuff.
But it's a good. First of all, we haven't talked about Tyler Duncan either.
He's sliding up the leaderboard, man. But anyway, I think we get two, maybe three times
a decade. We get a chance for a US Open like this. When it's at Oakmont and when it's at Wingfoot,
there's not that many other places where they can do this.
And preach.
I feel like they've just, they've just punted.
It was like a three round.
It was, it's a three round US open
with a warm up round on the front end.
Was 16 at Oakmont good in your eyes?
Not as good as it should have been.
No, I thought it was a tad easy.
Really crowded.
A lot of rain. I thought that was a tad easy. They're like, crap.
Lot of rain, lot of rain.
I thought that was the best.
You have opened set up, I've seen in my recent memories.
Yes, I agree with you.
Oh, those are perfect balance of like,
you can make birdies, but you really are.
No, but that's what I'm saying though,
is like, they're gonna go to Tori
and they're gonna go to, you know,
I'm sure they're gonna go back to Aaron Hills at some point
and they're gonna go to Brooklyn. I don't know if they really don't think they will. They're gonna go to Texas. LACC should be up blood back. air and hills at some point. And they're gonna go to... Brooklyn.
I don't think they will.
They're gonna go to the...
LACC should be a blood bath.
LACC will be great.
Oh.
And her should be a blood bath.
But like, you know, you have a,
Piner's is not a blood bath.
It's just like, you just make like four bogies in a row.
We're like, I...
There were like two guys under par last time.
I know, I just wanna see this,
I wanna see like a plus eight to plus 10 winning score,
like once or twice a decade.
Just, is that too much to ask you with current technology?
I would say yes.
Ten of these things.
Current technology with no wind.
They could easily do that this week easily.
But you always bitch that they tricked Mary and out like crazy.
They don't have to trick this place out to do that.
What would they do differently?
Just firm it up.
Firm the fucking greens and make the pins a little bit harder.
I don't know.
Okay. I don't know.
Okay.
I don't know if there's just four days of hard pins on every green.
Yeah, that's sick.
I don't know if there is.
That's what I'm saying.
Oh, no.
Fucking USO.
Yeah, come on.
I get that.
It's the toughest test in God.
That doesn't make harder pins.
These greens, that's all I've been hearing about.
There's probably so big.
There's probably fewer places to put greens,
because the slopes are so massive.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm. I didn't like the slopes are so massive. Mmm. Mmm.
I've seen the green reading books, all that.
Members of Insanity all sorts of thoughts as well on that.
Can we agree on one thing?
Tori's gonna stink.
Oh my God.
Yeah.
I see in the commercial stuff.
I might abstain.
We should, we should play an international trip.
That's such a good idea.
Is that cool with you guys? Sure. That sounds great. The hat that we saw, that's such a good idea.
Is that cool with you guys?
Sure, that sounds great.
What else do we need to get to?
I just would, I would push back also that,
and this could be just a complete difference
of opinion, Randy, I definitely think we just
have a different opinion of like,
I don't think it's that fun to watch like 78 be a great score
if the conditions aren't dictating that.
I just think it's like, unless it is complete mutiny and complete putting off greens
for like the sake of content,
just so stupid and dumb that it's really entertaining.
I don't think it is that fun to watch, dude.
It's just like not, like the best golfers in the world
can't even possibly, if the conditions
aren't forcing it into it, I can't make a par on a hole.
That seems just, that's where we're gonna differ.
But again, you're talking yourself out of my cap.
Cause that actually sounds sweet when you put it that way.
Again, the margin is so thin too.
Like they don't have to do that much.
It's not like it's gonna be that contrived
to make that happen, especially if the wind
is gonna blow like it is this weekend.
It's like all they had to do was get the, you know,
leading score up to even plus one plus one right now.
And then it's a fucking sweepstakes.
I got a trivia question for you guys.
Take today's pins and yesterday's pins
and just swap them same conditions.
How's that affect the scoring average of the two days?
Which day would have been more difficult?
No idea.
I'm gonna guess the scores are about the same.
Probably.
I'm guessing yesterday plays a little harder.
It was just incrementally harder.
I think the biggest thing yesterday was yesterday felt,
I mean, Reed said it in his post-round presser.
Like yesterday the pins were in the middle of the greens.
And like I know.
He said it was accessible.
He did not say the pins were in the middle of the greens.
They were in the middle of the greens.
If you look at the 20 men,
that's what he did. They were in the middle of the green. If you look at the 20 men, that's what he did in the middle of the greens.
And like today, I felt like it felt less like Sunday at at
Chinatown.
Yes. I agree.
The pins were harder today for sure.
Yeah. We're like, I had a problem with people on Twitter being
like, oh, it was the exact same setup.
The wind just blew.
It was not the exact same setup.
It ran the sub-airs all night
The greens were a little bit firmer a little bit faster and the pins were harder and
In the wind blue when the wind blows the greens are gonna firm up that is of course in a cool off too
I mean, that's that's certainly a factor too
But like it was all of those things it wasn't just the wind blue
You guys want to do 30 40 minutes on speech 81 or no I could I'm ready
Is this the low point he needs to lash out? I I feel he said let it all out
I feel no different than I felt yesterday. It's got it listen. I feel I feel different really yeah, dude
He's he needed this though. He is stunk
Royale for months and months and months and months and months
And he's like he's baked it a little bit at majors just enough to be like, oh, but that's where it's like,
he was faking it.
Yes, I think we were, now when I was wide open that,
like he was faking it and there's not that many courses
that are gonna expose faking it the way that this one is.
And so it's like, yeah, doggy, you know, he got got today.
He got caught sleeping today.
It's over on like the current path is what I mean.
And that he needs something needs to change.
I don't know what it is. I don't know if he needs to put the clubs down for a long period of time.
Rainy, is you contacting him about the potential walk about?
No, if anybody has a line to him, if anybody listening can give me and...
If he's got some great ideas...
If he's listening, it's what I'm gonna do.
If you're listening, reach out to you.
Exactly.
He's just getting...
I'm trying to get some griller time too.
Trying to go play golf with Griller in the Pacific Northwest.
That'd be... That is what they need. Trying to go play golf with Griller in the Pacific Northwest. That'd be that is what they need. You go take Griller, you guys do your thing and Jordan and I will,
you know, me, Madeline, Griller, Icarito, Griller, can shepherd Icarito into underpar scores.
T times are out for tomorrow too. I mean all the managers read and the big
golfer who's JT with as well. Co-Craft. He's all over.
Oh, God.
I'm going to amend my Co-Craft score.
I think it's a little higher.
Co-Craft's in the small blind JT's in a big blind.
I wouldn't want to have to JT to my left on the poker table.
Yeah, Bubba and Hadecki.
You've got Webb and Havland.
They split up Dustin and DB.
Oh, man, I hate that.
Yeah, DB with Westwood, Dustin with the Eatree.
Shlong and Pock.
To shout out to Pock, he's gonna be the low M.
Shlong too.
And of course.
Yeah, that was kind of a tough scene today.
See, and Davis Thompson missed a cut.
I'm sure it opened around 69.
That was a life comes at your fast moment there.
A lot of golf left to be played there.
Mike Wallace in Lanto.
That's gonna be cool for you.
That's really cool.
Who are you guys?
Guys got tough news on Jordan Stats.
What do you think was worse?
Stroke's gained off the tee or stroke's gained putting.
I'm gonna guess putting based on your tone.
Yes, both of them were T131 in stroke's gain.
Oh my guys in the middle one, it's not good.
Yeah, it's not good.
We'll put them WD. Yeah, so
it's 143. Uh, big news. The Canadian. Oh my gosh. It's gonna have four of five guaranteed
potentially five. I'm gonna wait till the auditor comes through on these things because
there's been some scoring errors. There's been some scoring errors. JT is going to win the tournament anyways and
I will be thousands of dollars ahead of you. 90 or 91 on my points this week by accident.
Well that's good. That fits. That's the cut. How is the fits stuff going to hit?
He's still beat Rosie shit his pants down the stretch. No no no it's Miss cut. No.
Go to the draft Kings website. We can take this offline but I think he's right.
That's coming. I know. Sage I mean but I think he's right. That's coming.
That's siege, I mean, a lot.
You're welcome.
It is coming.
You don't have to like him, buddy's right.
Yeah.
Should we wrap it there?
My problem's not with UTC.
It's with who's the biggest disappointment?
Rib.
They are.
No, just on the week so far.
Rib.
Of the week.
The rib.
You were expecting big things from the rib?
No, it's just, it sucks.
God, it sucks to see him shoot three under yesterday
and just basically shoot himself in the face today.
Continually.
Beat himself in the head many, many times in the head
with a hammer.
Biggest disappointment for me for two days is still DJ.
Getting a little bit of a pass, and he's entered a new
category because of Harding Park, Morcaw missing the cut.
Yeah, especially after you're going.
Yeah, I know.
I was talking to Randy about that.
I know this is kind of obvious, US Open stuff, but it is really cool.
And I think this sums up why I love the setup today.
Was it was awesome to watch Morcaw play legitimately flawless, great golf for 11 holes and get
it to 200.
And you can see how many good shots he's holes and get it to 200.
And you can see how many good shots he's hit
to get it to 200.
I think I told you, like, man, he gets it in at 3-0.
Yeah.
He's right in it.
And then just make a double on one hole
and give it all, give away just three hours of your life
and a couple of swings.
That's awesome.
I'll tell you what's not been made enough of a story
is Matt Kutcher's Cadi quitting on him
and saying he wants to get in TV and then go on and picking up
Cameron James back did not know that that happened. I didn't realize he picked up. I thought he was
I thought he was looking for somebody else who's gonna fire their caddy after the season. No, I
I'm pretty sure I heard that. It sounds like a very specific thing to yeah to make up. It's a guy's like I
Feel like I heard that so So somebody John Woods or somebody
sliding the comments of God that will I can corroborate that.
We got that wood.
That's wild.
I did not hear that.
Yeah.
Randy biggest disappointment this week.
Oh, I mean, Mikkelsing just exploding
after his birdie birdie start, I think was the disappointment.
For me, is this the end of the US Open for Phil?
Bully playing another one.
I think he'll play another one.
I think how will he get there?
I still think he's got,
I don't, don't ask me how.
Don't ask me when.
He's got a little bit more magic left.
I think when he wins the Masters,
he would get a five year exam shouldn't he, right?
Biggest disappointment I hit home for me this week
is Kebka being hurt and not playing.
Do you see him post on Instagram? He's out shooting hoops. He's playing a real sport out there while all these.
Because you guys are playing golf. You've pushed, he's gonna play golf.
Yeah, I'm playing basketball.
I'm playing five on five basketball.
I'm not, not in that one on one three on three bullshit.
Switch, switch, switch.
Uh, I gotta say, I gotta say can't lay shooting 76 today.
Seems like he's playing pretty good golf.
It's time for Cantler to shoot a go off the pot a little bit.
Amen.
These big spots.
In the cut.
At least.
Let's do the same thing as yesterday.
Low round.
What's going to be the lowest score tomorrow?
And who's going to be the leader tomorrow?
God willing, it's a 71 low round.
69 Zander Shoffley as your leader.
That's really good.
I really like that.
Kind of changed it to John Rom actually.
Sure.
Sure, I love it.
I'll say 72 from Web Simpson.
And he's not the leader.
Not the leader.
You think 72 is gonna be the lowest quarter, man?
Hope so.
God willing.
Randy, what was your lowest score number?
I said 71.
Okay.
So you do have faith in the USGA.
Well, no, if that's the low.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I mean, honestly, it seemed like it'd be hard to screw it up
at this point.
Right.
Uh, I'm gonna, uh, I'll say 69.
I'll join you, Sally.
Nice.
And, uh, I'm gonna say,
oh gosh. I'm gonna say JT is the leader. I'm gonna, I've been all
in shout out to Co-Gracke and I'm gonna stick with it.
I've got a little wager on the side with a USDA body. He beat me a beer that there
would not be a single round in the 60s as weekend.
I'll take that there will. I like it. I took that there will. Yeah, I'd love to get on that.
I think I know who your buddy is. Miller likes if he's listening or she is listening. I would love to
put me down for one of those as well. All right. Let's cut it there. Boys, that was fun. Look
before the weekend. It's going to be thrilled for the weekend. I think we're in a great spot.
We're in a much better place mentally than we were in the last one.
I'm glad that yesterday was one of the most disappointing days of my life.
Just when I thought we were getting to common ground.
God, you know what?
I know we said we were gonna cut.
We didn't even talk about here as English.
Oh my God.
He's flush in the ball.
Probably playing the best golf of anybody in the field.
And somebody just mess messages like absolutely no faith
in Harry English. And I'm going to be honest, I kind of forgot about.
He's absolutely flushing the ball.
We know he's flushing it, but like he was awesome today.
It's I don't know if there's much more to say beyond that.
I just want to make sure to to 20.
I know it was crazy.
I would have I would have totally written him as like, okay, dude,
like you're a good PGA tour player.
Your game fits PGA tour. I do not think you're lasting in the US open. And
he is. He feels so proper. Yeah, I feel like it's yeah, I feel like he's a ball hitter.
Just he was so good in kind of juniors and then in college. And then I actually, this
is like a running joke with our buddy, the commission. God, I miss the commission. The
commission. So the commission has always been a big speed guy.
And I was like, dude, Harris English is a sleeping giant.
He is gonna have 10 times the career of speed.
This isn't like 2013.
Yeah.
And sure enough, like, he won those two,
those two events in the same year
and then just
has never done anything since.
It's going to be brought up a, playing a long game.
It's going to be brought up a million times this weekend, but the finals of the NCAA, Pat
Reed dispatched Harry Singlish to win the championship.
Is that a thing?
Did anybody care about that?
Is that interesting?
I think it's pretty sweet.
I think it's a thing.
I think it's totally a thing.
People said karma was dead.
Yes.
That was, do you remember the exact quote?
Yeah, people were like, you know,
Patrick Reed beating Harris means like karma is dead,
meaning people hate Patrick.
Well, you got, I mean, for the full story,
it's a long story, but you know, kicked off the team at UGA,
it goes to Augusta State,
beats Harris English, the shining English, the night in shining armor
to win the national champion.
I think there was also some personal stuff there
with Harris, he was extra shitty,
and I think Harris was one of the ones that called him
on cheating and qualifying and all that stuff.
So, to your, let's bring this thing full circle
to your point, Sully, can I care about that for four days your point, can I care about that for four days?
No.
Can I care about that for two days?
Like, yeah, I'm in on that.
That's gonna be very fun to watch this weekend.
Not even two days, 36 hours.
Yeah, what do you need to see from Pat Reed to like believe?
Because when he's going well, he, absolute killer.
Dude, I've seen tomorrow early.
It's gonna be very interesting.
He's looked awesome, man.
I don't know, I mean, he hasn't driven a grade, I know, but.
Here's where I was coming out with Harris English.
I feel very good when Harris is just standing on two feet
in a very comfortable stance.
US Open ate that, like it's weird lies around the green.
And like, I'm saying he's too tall.
I'm serious.
I don't trust him to hit like the shot over, you know,
over that mound, ball ball, and I trust Reed to hit that shot.
Like green side, open up a face,
whatever you got to like,
finagle, Reed seems like that kind of guy.
I could see there being some pace of play
I used to play with Bryson.
If the pins are spicy,
the greens firm up a little bit, that's.
Yeah, but he walks so fast.
That would be my prediction, I guess,
as we could see an absolutely epic meltdown moment
from Bryson tomorrow,
with the cameras there the whole time.
With just the whole thing final, final group
of an extremely tough major, it could be really good stuff.
Yeah.
He already said once, he's in the final group
and he already was on camera once this week saying
these greens suck so bad.
Like tomorrow could be awesome.
Can we at the same time just raise a glass to Bryson
and like seriously impressive stuff and.
You're still a douchebag.
This is so much for sure.
But like, holy shit man, this is working in majors and people like the knock on him was
going to be like, hey, dude, this is not going to work in majors.
And we haven't even gotten to the venue that's going to be the best format.
Like this is, this is a real thing.
Dude, I totally, I think it'd be pitch perfect if he won this week at the USGA's hardest venue.
Basically said like, you know, two middle fingers up
and said like, cool, like I dare you guys
to roll back the golf ball.
He might be the one that saves golf ball.
Exactly.
Exactly.
All right, let's cut it there.
That was a nice little addendum.
Thanks for tuning in.
Thank you.
No apology, no collusion.
No, yeah. And shout out to Rio Ishaqawa
First made cutting a major since 2013 didn't know he was in the field. That's awesome. That's cool. That's good stuff. All right cool of you. Cheers guys. Cheers
It's gonna be the right club today
That's better than most.
How about him?
That is better than most.
Better than most.
Expect anything different.
Expect anything different?
