I'm going to be the right club today.
Yeah. That's better than most.
How about him?
That is better than most.
Better than most. Holly, big creamy Randy and Tron Carter, gentlemen. If anybody in the comments can tell us
how to get our leaderboard on masters.com.
TC and I are stuck.
Off of this, you know, whatever this is.
Right here.
A few people can see that you're screened,
but I think they'll be able to really identify
with what you're talking about.
It looks like the leaderboard.
Mine is fine.
I have the good leaderboard.
Also worth noting, some of you might be listening
to this on the podcast, you didn't have no idea what the hell we are talking about.
It's just like that's just too cute. Just show me a big ass leaderboard on my screen.
It's all we want. The takes are flying already. I thought it was a split of day of golf
ready to talk about it, but before we what's fueling the takes. Before we do that. What's fueling
the takes. Berbin. Berbin is fueling the takes. It is a unique style of American whiskey.
I'm gonna I'm gonna learn you guys a little bit
All right, you ready? You're gonna learn us how much yeah, I'm gonna learn you a little bit
How much what percent of the world's 40 a supply of whiskey or of bourbon comes from Kentucky?
Oh my gosh more than that. I'm gonna say 76
It feels like a trick question say 68
95% it was officially declared America's native spirit by Congress in 1964.
You didn't know that.
How much?
What percent of it has to be corn?
Ninety-five.
To be considered bourbon.
Oh, at least 96 and a half.
Fifty-one percent.
It's got to be distilled at no more than nine, than 160 proof, barreled at no more than
125 and bottled at no less than 80 proof.
It has to be aged for at least two years in new, charred, white oak barrels.
And Elijah Craig, Smallbatch, is actually aged for eight to 12 years.
So extra smooth and rich TC and I are well lubed up here.
I've been I've been drinking this for the last couple of months, man.
Pick up a bottle today or order online and discover the greatness within.
No laying up as brought to you by Elijah Craig,
Kentucky St. Berb and Whiskey Barz Town,
Kentucky 47% alcohol by volume.
Elijah Craig reminds you to think wisely, drink wisely.
I want to shout out our,
we have more commercials than CBS does, actually, for once.
That's a really good point, actually.
Our friend Lauren Kaufflin, her husband,
John, massive, massive bourbon fan.
He was out waiting at a liquor store at 3 a.m.
yesterday morning, for some Elijah Craig.
How about that?
Let me start with something very important.
Many people saying, I think this is an HTML5 thing.
If you shrink your browser, you should get the leaderboard
that you're looking for.
While you're looking at that,
while you're looking at that leaderboard. Did it work?
I told you it's going to work.
While we're looking at the leaderboard,
where do you guys want to start?
Should we start with Paul Casey at seven under?
All I have is the Chris Vernon thing in my head.
Paul Casey seven under.
You can't say like that.
You got to sing it.
Going back, who uses that small of a browser window?
Yeah.
Well, it's probably less than I ever know.
I think we can start with some mobile response thing. It's too cute
You're using antiquated equipment on the day that they gave us every shot from every single player
We're upset at the size of the leaderboard here. Yes. I'm so mip because it's sick of cutting the grass with the scissors and spray-pain the curves
Someone's got to do that stuff. That's important stuff. So let me direct it to you
These guys are completely off the rails already. Where do you wanna start?
Should we start with Paul Casey?
I have never been more locked into watching golf
than I was through like 1230 today, I think.
Cause I'm unbelievable.
I had the my group thing going,
which well, I actually have some takes on that.
It wasn't quite what I thought it would be,
but the feature group, the AIMM corner.
Even he can't be completely.
Yeah, I'll tell you what,
as we tell people here in this shop,
I would email refunds at agustanasional.com.
They're not happy.
The riddler slash eatmyass.
And masterstot order.
They had backslash get a life.
They had no announcers going for it for so long.
And so your eyes had to be on the screen
if you were gonna catch the action.
I think part of the reason why the no announcers
was sweet.
Yeah, that was awesome. Why you kind of tune out when
you're watching it is, you know, somebody's just droning on and on and you can kind of pick
up what's going on even if you're not watching. But if you don't, like I missed some tiger
shots and had to go back and watch him, but do there's so many screens going, it was just
like overload and rarely do you get masters golf on Thursday with play on both sides because
everybody goes off one. It's like a long drawn out thing.
And today it was like bang, bang, bang, bang.
But the cool thing, you know, you mentioned you missed a couple and you had to go back
and watch.
The cool thing is that you can go back and watch.
You can click into every shot.
And that's the difference between this year and last year, I think, is when it was every
shot ever last year, like there's, you're just getting into, you know, one percent of the
golf shots because you're not clicking into every player.
But once something actually happens,
then you have like a frame of reference,
you can go back and watch it.
It was great.
I'm sitting here right now.
Somebody just said Ricky's having,
and it was in the process of having a nightmare on number 12.
I'm sitting here watching it,
I'm watching the whole hole in 35 seconds.
There you go.
And he's just, you know, he dumped one in the front,
and then he chipped,
I dropped, and then he went in the back bunker and then yeah tough scene we saw max double 12
That was tough and then we're like oh, we made four straight birdies and then within two minutes
You get to watch the whole thing unfold in a row
He was he was ready to RIP max after that after going long
I said it was a bad miss. He was like ten yards over. It was a bad miss
Randy came back forced four straight pretty. As she said.
Rainy, with how much you love the US Open Setup on Thursday, I'm sure you had to be thrilled with the softness of the green.
Well, we were saying so let's start there.
Potentially the US GA set it up.
I know. To say in our bononing that it looks like many...
The Rither invited them in to say, hey, like,
re-point you so, you guys set it up, how you see fit here, because you've lost total control of the game.
Was it the three straight hours of daily drain?
Was it non-factor, you think?
It was tough.
It, it, it, certainly the course was not playing up to its normal standards.
What I'm through nobody's fault.
Right, through nobody's fault.
Uh, but I think it took away from we didn't really get to see what it'd be like in November.
Because I tried to replicate April.
Because I feel like the reason that's in November,
post day that savings time,
there's no reason this shouldn't have been mid-October.
Like, pre-day that savings time,
I think the whole reason was to give the ride
time to grow in, right? Possibly. Yeah, I don't know. I think the whole reason was to give the to give the ride time to grow in, right?
Possibly. Yeah, I don't know. I'm not sure.
Whereas if they just lean into like, yo, we're going to have a different masters this year
and it's going to be kind of dormant brown. This isn't an issue.
You said something very interesting there, TC, that I hadn't really connected the dots
between Ridley's press conference yesterday saying the game is at a crossroads and you're
kind of looking for a call to action. The setup was looking easy today,
not just the greens being soft,
which is kind of out of their control,
but like front pen on 16 was accessible.
The T was up on four, there was a front pen on 10.
There was a couple funnel pins, if you will, Randy.
Like they were setting it up for low scoring.
I wonder if they're kind of like,
hey, blow our records out, just do it,
and let's get on with changing the equipment.
I did that, yeah.
Is a sick take, right?
No, I think that's blowing up the machine
from the inside, right?
I think that's the reason that they're not using
the T on 13 now or in April, they're saying,
hey, we're gonna let this thing play itself out
and let you guys hang yourselves.
Can we do the big golfer right away then?
Because some, you're almost hung up self today, you got?
Well, yeah, let me start, as the biggest peak.
Talking all day about it.
No, no, no, that's not true, that's the wrong word.
I have been excited, I'm still excited.
Back to that Bob, nothing to see here,
everything is totally fine.
First of all, I haven't been as excited
about just like everybody on golf Twitter
rallying around one person,
hyper analyzing every shot.
That hasn't happened since like chipping Yips cat,
I would say, and that was thrilling to see.
He comes out, just stuffs it at the first,
all the Bryson people are just,
oh my God, he's gonna win by 19, Mrs. The Putt,
and then it was just a complete up and down,
blows it off the planet on 11, somehow saves par,
just the whole shit show at 13.
I had to hit a provisional off 11.
Yes, and 13.
Oh, his whole algorithm, his whole coding is in base,
like there's no room for variables like mud and water.
I don't think that had anything to do with this.
They have blown a governor.
He just didn't drive it well.
Oh, also, he drove it like shit to start.
Wait, like not only inaccurate,
but like weirdly not that long today.
Right.
It kind of, it wasn't, I don't know.
I honestly, it's like uncomfortable.
Right.
It was, that's the first time,
I mean, he looked in total control at Augusta
and I feel like, or at a wing foot.
And I feel like that was the first time
we've seen him look like, whoa,
this is hold on, things are moving a little bit.
Maybe Augusta implemented some testing or something like that prior to the round we've seen him look like, whoa, this is hold on, things are moving a little bit. Maybe he got to implement it some testing
or something like that prior to the round.
Wow, that's interesting.
And he got in at 70, 200.
200, technically, technically,
no, technically one over.
He said, he said, he said, he said,
no, but I'm calling it a par 69.
Oh, I see.
Cause there was a lot of mud balls.
Otherwise, I'd say it was a par 69, it was a par 69.
I like, listen, people can shoot at them all they want.
I like where he's at.
He spotted the field maybe two or three today.
And now he's the highest I could have.
That's truly the highest he could have shot.
Okay, I always used to shoot 70 when he would win.
Exactly.
Got the bad round out of the way.
I feel like a lot of people, not a lot of people,
but enough people in the mentions
were kind of taking a little victory,
a little price and victory lap today.
People don't realize, yeah, making par after 11.
Like, dude, come on.
Which I'm like, no, no.
He's still head to hit good shots.
You don't get, you really don't get it one.
This was like, no, let me tell you,
you really don't get it.
Like, you don't, we're talking about how well
he's raised his floor.
Yeah.
That was pretty much his floor today
as far as driving it, I thought,
and he shot 200.
Yes.
Like, that's exactly what we're talking about.
It looked like the earth was melting down there
around like 13 green effort.
Hit that provisional in the water.
That looked like it was, oh my God,
this is gonna be the worst,
this is a nuclear reactor meltdown.
I think people are just tired of hearing about them.
For sure.
But that's what was fun.
It's exhausted of course.
Totally.
Totally.
And this is where I'll flip it back to you.
Cool, let's talk about Paul Casey.
No, I don't want to talk about Paul Casey.
I want to talk about what the fuck,
Hedeki Matsu Yamaha was wearing.
We'll get there.
But I don't get why people are so upset about
Bryson, he's so approachable and likable
in his post-traumatic interview,
talking about the pot on 16, you know,
three degrees, 10 and a half.
Yeah, exactly.
Like everyone knows exactly, and can relate to this. What I will say, which I thought was kind of interesting, hearing him, three degrees, 10 and a half. Yeah, exactly. Like everyone knows exactly and can relate to this.
What I will say, which I thought was kind of interesting.
Hearing him, first of all, shout out to the Augusta livestream
was phenomenal, awesome, on-course audio.
That a lot of that's no fans.
You can hear a lot more when he's talking about,
when he's talking about like his 930, 1030, 11,
like that's all the like hands on the clock stuff, right?
Like that's not that hard to understand.
It sounds like I feel like it.
It sounds like a couple of parents that are late for,
late getting back to the babysitter.
So, I'm like, how much more do we have to pay here?
It was, yeah, it's not that hard to understand,
but like he goes out of his way to like hammer that stuff in.
And nobody's asking.
It's very much like, no.
Like, how it goes back to that ESP,
or the athletic one. That's what I was just gonna say. But from very much like, no goes back to the athletic one.
That's what I was just gonna say.
But from earlier this week, where...
Brendan Quinn wrote an awesome piece for the athletic.
If you have a dollar a month, I would recommend checking it out.
Awesome thing, talking to a bunch of people
from his high school, his middle school,
just like what he was like as a teenager basically,
and how he had to get kind of popped in the face.
There was a suspect third place finish of science fair.
I'll let you read about that.
But did he put so much baking soda in the volcano?
Or something?
It was seen straight out of the Simpsons,
the Frank's, Frank grabs episode, which is about 70 years old now.
But anyways, I was thinking the same thing, TC.
Can we talk about the cat?
We can't just get it out of the way.
I'm looking at a text message right now from Good Bar.
His name is... I'm not done on Bryson, I think.
I don't.
Especially, you really honestly like where he's sitting,
Deeg, he's five back.
Yes.
Fuck yeah.
Of course.
I mean, this is, I'm not joking.
Listen, maybe he'll go out tomorrow and he'll shoot 75.
I don't think he will, but I think that's as ugly as it gets, man.
And I think he just birdied some of the different holes today, like he had to birdie 18 and he birdied like,
or I'm sorry, nine and birdied a couple of different ones
and made a mess on the par five.
Like I think he spotted a couple shots on the par fives.
Dude, it's not gonna happen again tomorrow.
If it does, I'll be happy to apologize on tomorrow's show,
but I don't think it's gonna happen.
Whatever happened today, it was not an indictment
in any way of his strategy in any way.
Like it wasn't like he hits in bad shots.
If he wasn't a bomber like this, this bad day would have been probably too old.
If anything, it was a confirmation.
Exactly.
These are the days that he's going to get ahead, not the ones that he shoot in 65 on.
Now, what I will say, he's back of some horses.
I mean, dog's a whole KC web simpson.
All the horses, a sander, JT, Hadecki, Westwood,
we'll talk about in a minute.
Reed Tiger Wolf, Adam Scott, John Rom, Finao, Ricky,
Loki 3, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
I'm sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry,
I'm sorry.
We're waiting for more ballots to come in for the 12th.
Broward County, they're always,
Broward County's always slow to report. Can we just get the 12th of the 12th. Broward County, there are always, Broward County's always a little report.
Can we just get the cat out of the way?
Sure.
I'm getting all sorts of text messages.
John King over here.
You know, kinds of text.
TC, are you gonna apologize tonight?
TC, you know, I didn't say in apology.
He looked fucking terrible a couple weeks ago, right?
Yeah, terrible.
Of course.
Well, I say he's gonna, he's got the one week that he's trying to peak.
The one week that matters in the only week
and the only.
I did it, man.
The only place that actually sets up decent for him
and he could play a blind fold
in many people are saying.
He's one under.
No, he should have played a blind hole
that many people were saying.
One under?
He's one under right now.
How many people are getting in?
I'm not sure.
I mean, Bogey Free 68 is strong.
Quite strong.
He never really threatened making any Bogey's today either.
I mean, it could have been lower.
He was on the fat part of almost every green every time I looked up.
He could have even run in a couple more puts.
It wasn't like you had an out of control day
with the part of the really drill.
Just deeply, deeply proper golf.
Yes. So thinking about the cat critically then.
What? A critical analysis of the cat.
Yeah. What's to stop the cat from basically shutting it down
rap dog all of none like the entire year except for
three weeks leading up. Yeah, four weeks leading up to masters and
playing the hero and playing the British open story sponsor obligation
sponsor. Yeah, you know, he's got he's got a vote for player of the year
You got a place or a number of events to vote for player of the year. You got a place or a number of events
to vote for player of the year.
I know how important that is.
He likes exercising his civic duty.
Seriously, I mean, like at some point.
No, dude, I've been saying that for a while.
Like, shut it down, man.
But listen, that monster hydro fucking fluid dynamics,
energy drink, whatever is just not going to,
it's not gonna sell itself.
I don't know if the PGL will allow him to shut down
That's yeah, but if he's a I think if Tyre went went and said hey, I'm gonna be a team manager
And I'll play a certain amount of events. They'd let him do whatever the fuck he wanted right?
There's no other pod talking about the pGL tonight
I didn't think we would be talking about it either
Do you think do you think here's a question. Do you think Paul Casey will be the leader
after round one?
Paul Casey is this year's Justin Rose.
Really?
I think he's this year's Paul Casey.
After round one.
After round one.
Round one is not over.
What I mean is JT's five and a half.
JT's five and a half.
Yeah, and he hasn't played back nine.
Right?
I mean, he's played the front nine.
Wolf's got the front nine, I guess, in front of him.
I think JT will tie him.
That's what I was gonna say.
I mean, JT's won a flyer on seven away from being like
six hundred through 10 or seven hundred through 10,
even really good.
JT was my shoot 63.
That was a sharp, because I'd seen him.
I think that was 62, that was my, that was the prop
that I'm kind of looking at now and I'm like shit
Man like thinking about the Augusta stuff critically. Get it nice nice calm morning tomorrow get him go
She four under on the back. Yeah, man the only other explanation. I think for this I'd only be 63
A guy under the back aggressively easy setup is that they were really trying to get people through
That's the only other reason that that's That's the USG defense though, right?
Just going back to around one and two.
Very much so.
Who would just pick someone in the field?
Who would you say had a bad day today?
Who might need more practice?
Jordan.
Jordan is a big beef.
It's all relative with beef.
This was just part of the process today.
Shooting 75.
I think Jordan might be getting too much practice.
I'm gonna say VJ. Let's go with it. That was a part of the process today. Shooting 75. I think George might be getting too much practice. I'm gonna say.
Well, I'm gonna say VJ.
Let's go with it.
That was a load of questions.
Yeah, that was a load of questions.
Come on, it was a bit.
Jordan might need a different one,
maybe blueprint to his practice plan.
Ah!
Brooks plus two.
We're onto something else here.
No, I'm sad, but I'm just trying to pick a guy.
I never tried to do it.
We've already hit the exit, man.
We're already have the off-ray. We're going
to tell you a little bit about golf blueprint and their practice plans that can help you
give you focused, structured practice that target the more important areas of your game.
Go to golf blueprint.com. Just look at the guy on the home page that's willing to endorse
it. Our very own DJ pie. I know. I told him I was going to, I was going to send them a little more eloquent quote, which
may be I'll do after this.
But yeah, I sound a little Trumpian in my, somebody called rambling sentence, Barry Macockiner.
Well, that's the ultimate honor.
But I got to say, I mean everything that's on there, the haters and losers of which
there are many.
May not understand.
The kids handicap is down to the lowest it's ever been.
Cracked the fives were into like 4.8, 4.9 territory at this point.
Despite some of the manipulation on the 18th hole that checked.
Exactly. So it's way lower than that, anyway.
You're playing off a three right now.
A lot of golfers are not getting the most out of their practice because they don't have
a plan. They put way too much emphasis on what happens in the most recent round and they
misjudge
the areas of the game that need work.
So you can contact the guys at Golf Blueprint.
They're going to give you an actual practice plan.
They're going to talk to you about your game.
And this is especially for the people that are kind of starting to approach the time of
the year where you're locked inside.
They have offering a special for winter memberships.
It's also if you're outdoor during the winter, you can still use this as well. But 15% off the winter membership, which is four months, and you get full access, first
access to full season memberships when they start in the spring, golf blueprint.com.
Slash join, DJ and I have both been using this and it's been awesome.
It holds you a little bit responsible for your game.
So they do.
The easiest way I can put it, and I think I said this on the website as well, and I'll say
quickly, is if you were going to work out and you had a workout plan,
you wouldn't just go and like, bang around
on some random machines, you would have an actual
like workout plan, and that's the same thing for golf,
because every time I've ever gone to the range in my life,
it has always just been like, I guess I'll hit six,
eight irons, now I'll hit some wedges,
now I'll try to hit that cart with my four iron,
and it doesn't go well, so it's been nice to have some structure and with that
We can get back to the show. It's like Randy running
What were your favorite drills as a as a high school basketball?
Oh my gosh, we had a handful that we would start every day with our our baseline fundamental drills
We would do oh gosh what would we do a lot of setting accept, a lot of cutting replace.
Just, you know, gotta get the kids moving.
Many people fairly pointing out that, you know,
two ad breaks, zero golf shots,
showing so far on the live show,
which is understandable and fair criticism.
But apparently we don't have the rights
to show masters coverage.
We just cut into Torres St. John's.
Quick coverage take, Fowl Torres Storas' shots. Quick coverage take.
Fowdo.
Fowdo.
Taken up the cause.
Yeah, so I was upstairs, didn't hear this.
Fill me in, what did I miss?
Pro rollback.
It was basically that equipment needed a change
so that there was some more precision needed to be.
Something to reward the more precise ball strikers
was basically the crux of his statement.
Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,
like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,
like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,
like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,
like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,
like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,
like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,
like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,
like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,
like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like the theory that maybe a gust does like, all right, let's ramp up the talk, let's do it.
And he's saying that on a broadcast where the primary spokesperson for the leading like
market share ball company is sitting right next to him.
And also a broadcast that is heavily scrutinized by the green jackets.
So they're not allowed to say the word mud balls on the broad justice.
Is that true?
Oh, come on.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah, they're what do they say?
There's mud on the wall.
Renalty slipped up earlier.
Renalty slipped up and not.
Sorry, not trying to gnarc on Renalty.
Nobolo said there's some earth on the ball at one point.
But.
I guess it.
Can we say something?
I guess it sucks.
But that's a whole other podcast.
Yes, it's the best in the world.
It's the best and worst.
Yes, of course.
I just I love their tournament.
I love watching it.
I love their product.
I love their website, but they seem like they like they seem like that's a whole other
thing.
They definitely do, but like I put that that quote up on the excerpt from the making of the
masters by David Owen on Clifford Roberts approach to this tournament.
Outstanding.
How the branding has worked to the point where it becomes this multi-billion dollar extravaganza
was like way back in the day, they cared like a shitload about how this was presented.
They didn't let the TV networks dictate it.
They were going to, you know, really push a commercial,
almost free broadcast to make people want to watch
and build the brand up and it has worked
incredibly in that regard.
So, Darren Revelle should do a case study on it.
Mm.
He should.
I'd be like three tweets.
Where do we want to go next?
Web Simpson, Saul, you want to talk about Web Simpson?
Is that a resident, you know, I feel like you're, I'm trying to come up with a clever name.
I got nothing.
Our Simpsonite?
Our Simpsonite?
Simsonite?
Sure.
Licking this to a coverage take.
Simsoni?
It was definitely a curious decision to go to a live interview with Web as Tiger was finishing
his round of golf.
Anyways, I would say curious decision to grow that beard out as long as it is, but that's
another topic.
I think his whole wardrobe is a curious decision, but I don't have as much on web as I do
Xander.
Give it to me, I need the Xander takes.
I don't have anything to say other than if you listen to what I was saying.
Pick to not win.
This was my pick to not win and the point of the game as we've reiterated
900 times is to fly as close to the sun as you can and Zander you love where you're at. I love where I'm at
T2 baby. What I mean is there anything more that you like to see?
It's not a matter of him getting into contention right that we knew was gonna happen. You want them in content
Of course, I want them losing on the 72nd hole. I don't want it. I don't even want them to lose
It'd be great if you won, But I just don't think he will.
That's the thing with cat that people are all over me.
Hey, why do you want to see cat fail all that?
That's the opposite.
I would love to be able to.
T.C. doesn't want to see cat thrive.
No, it's just a matter of like,
I don't think we're there right now, man.
Are there any fakers up there?
Or the conditions too soft?
I mean, I've concerns about Westwood's chipping
with how wet this for Hollins are he had some I
Don't mean this personally even though it is a very personal time
Some whiffs of the the TC
Jumping head at the walls. Yeah, throwing my throwing my front shoulder package is yeah, Packish is fun
I read some of those grids.
I don't mean this personally as I name you by name.
But guys, that stuff's in the past.
I know, right hand at TC, I should've said.
Not left hand.
Even when I go back right handed, I'm chipping left.
You've got kind of that fill swag through the ball.
It's like, quick hands at the bottom.
It's absolutely gross how well I'm chipping the ball right now.
Another guy who turned chicken shit into chicken salad today,
John Rom. Absolutely. You look a little chicken shit into chicken salad today, John Rom.
Absolutely.
He looked a little star.
Garbage to start.
Ron J. Ham.
Ron J. Ham.
Yeah.
But, I mean, he's gonna be there too.
I just, I feel like, man, I just feel like he could have picked the top 15 in a hat,
right?
And it's gonna be some order of those guys.
It feels like, guys, so many like pheniles
just in that position we'd like him to be in.
Who's Hayesons right there at Four Under?
I'll tell you who I think is.
Who I'm watching.
I think he's got that look in his eye.
And I've said it the last couple of majors
and totally with, so take this with the grain of salt,
but Adam Scott, he looked completely fearless
with the swing today.
He's, that would be fun.
Four under through 10, as he would go into the back nine or second nine, if you will.
Another person getting kind of ludicrous at this point.
Matt Wolf playing in his third major after finishing the top five in the first two is now
T five with again, still eight more holes to play.
Seven more holes to play.
Should've been college.
So he's the any should still be a college.
Speaking of young guys, Bernard Longer.
Three hundred through ten.
How about he gets six iron into 16?
Well, that, I got so much.
I know we already, we already did the golf blueprint thing,
but listen, sometimes you don't need to mash it, man.
You need to practice those other shots.
It's where the ball ends up, man.
Going back to golf blueprint, I do think like it is nuts
how much more decisive you've gotten with your wedges.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
So those guys, that was not really a compliment. That was more of an indictment.
Where are you going for?
But also, and also thank you to Kevin and Nico for speeding up our rounds of blood.
We're speeding up our rounds and just basically making it so we don't have to listen to the indecisiveness all the time.
Thank you. That means a lot.
All right, who else?
I think Dustin's 300 through nine.
It's hard to talk about the leaderboard
when everybody's up there.
When the course is this getable,
and it's just so much.
I'd rather talk about the guys with lots of holes left.
Cam champ might find himself 500 at the end around one.
Was this the first?
That's your first. Was this Q1?
Basically everybody answered through Q1.
There should be a cut after the first round.
Well Jordan kind of, I think Jordan kind of put in the wall.
Jordan and Q1.
What's Capka doing?
That's the other surprising one.
And Rory.
Rory, guys, I think we need to talk about Rory.
Rory's back.
We do.
We do.
We talk about Rory.
A front nine 36 on like the easiest
Augusta set up you'll ever encounter is deeply concerning any's a wet golf course
Savant Can anyone who was trying to hype bubble leading up into this apologize?
I don't I honestly don't remember who it was, but I just like an apology because I stressed I stressed about it
Wait, wait, what do you mean?
Johnson's one over I know I thought he was I thought he was playing a lot better. I thought he was playing great.
But he's equal to.
I don't think he missed the point.
He missed the point.
Oh, Jesus.
That was such a good shot into two.
It was 220.
He was having some earth balls though.
What happened?
Oh, God.
Yeah, he went bogey bogey double 16 through eight.
Okay.
Yeah, well, listen.
Zach Johnson was two under early as well.
I think we're getting fooled by some guys here too.
So early in the process, exactly.
Just like the Pennsylvania, I was gonna say,
it sounds like a lot of mail-in ballots coming in late.
I got a little, little theory.
Talk to golf, guys.
Would you stick to golf, right?
I was talking about the Midwest Pennsylvania.
Talk about the broadside.
All right, all right.
Well, stick to golf, these.
I got a little, this is a total reach, all right.
I feel like Rory, the anticipation for his,
even when he acts like there's no hype going into it
and blah, blah, blah, blah, I'm down playing.
It doesn't matter to me, blah, blah.
So much pressure just comes on that Thursday round.
I should say day one.
He only had to play nine holes.
He now gets to restart tomorrow.
Good, goes back out.
Course is gonna be a benign in the morning.
He always has made these runs.
I forget what year was it the year's speed one. He had he won like the last 45 holes by like six shots
or something like that. He came roaring from behind. Can he get going downhill on that momentum with 27 holes
tomorrow faster than he usually just runs out of holes? It's basically as long as he doesn't shoot
himself out of it on Thursday. As long as he comes in at 70 he's got to go to under
Coming in maybe a crowning he wasn't allowed to shoot himself out of it. Well and in
Nance made sure to talk about he's got a new perspective
As to you. Did you have any new perspective today? You obviously just had a child. Yeah, no
I asked her first first master since having your second child. Yeah, you know, so, so cool. I mean, Freddie should his pants. Not the normal park either.
Far away. He wanted to go to the Atlantic Beach Park. His mark in his turn. And then,
uh, and then yeah, and he was pretending that all the tires around the thing, like there
was lava and he was going from tire to tire. He, he fell. He heard himself. Did he, did he lie about shooting his pants? Cause I know he's been in the white lie game. No and he was going from tired to tired. He fell, he heard himself. Did he lie about shooting his pants?
Cause I knew he's been in the white lie game.
No, no, he was pretty straight up about it.
And we threw his underwear away
and we went and got a snow cone.
And we just sat there and kind of talked about it.
Are you worried if that's rewarding him for bad?
It's a bad bad thing.
He was so embarrassed.
He's like, tall tall mommy.
Tall tall.
So, but you know, honestly, like yeah,
you know, Kudos to Rory. He's got loads of
our stock dancing with the poppy mick rib and all that, you know,
big rib blood. Can we tell about speed? God, do we have to? Yeah, I don't know what
there's to talk about it. I mean, what do you got? Oh, I had what you said. It
looked like a lot of the same. It's pretty quick. Yeah, it's like, yeah, all right,
he birded the first hole. I thought he'd threaten for longer I thought he threatened for longer, but too over on that golf course today
Yeah, ain't happening. Well, I was gonna. Is there a rule of switching caddies?
I'd like to see I just see him gift-griller to someone who I was gonna say more specifically is a rule of caddy switching players
Yeah, you know, I would imagine there probably is.
They wear jersey numbers at Augusta.
That's a good question actually.
I bet you can switch caddies.
If you had a falling out with some
of them.
That's a normal tournament.
Yeah, I'd doubt you could have Augusta.
I'm gonna, I'll look at that.
No, I would think the opposite because at Augusta
it was much more about like prior to 95,
it was all about the club caddies.
And one of those club caddies went out and got hammered.
I'm sure you could just
sub their another club caddy, right?
I was gonna say of all the places in the world
that seemed sympathetic to firing employees,
I would think August is probably up there.
But you can do on the PJ tour.
Like Max has said, he picked up a caddy,
you know, if somebody missed the cup
when he's in the Bahamas, poor roots.
Shit, look at 10 cup.
Yeah, exactly.
You guys want to talk about the fact that Lawrence Meiz
tied the big offer today?
What a tie.
Yeah, I would like to.
What a tie, what a time to be alive, man.
That's pretty cool.
Who's it, who you taking the rest of the week?
Very frowning conditions.
Who you taking, Larry Meizer, Bryce,
could go forward the rest of the week,
both in the same spot 54 alternative
Listen Larry made a lot of birdies.
Six birdies.
Yeah, that's the same amount of birds the DJ made it spoiler alert.
Spoiler alert.
Somewhere along our or or band and trip.
I'd like to talk about Lonto.
Squanto.
I had hard I had high high high expectations for him.
You can drive it literally anywhere out there.
Will you apologize for a long time?
Right now, will you apologize?
I will apologize.
Solid hoodwing me in the time.
I did not. You went out of your way.
Trying to stock up syndrome with regards to squanto griffin.
I gotta say, I'm disappointed with Mathets Patrick plus one through ten.
Not good. Not good.
Deep enough.
Deep enough. Not good at all. Not good at all.
Scotty Shepler made a little, a little scare.
Quick rise up the leaderboard this morning, got 300.
But, I floated to you guys earlier, but do you think he's getting a little old for Scotty
Shepler?
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's my whole thing with Ricky.
I know.
I'm with you.
I'm trying to.
So you guys just don't like, so the hard cut is your thirties. Hold on, you guys,
you realize my son's name is Freddie.
F for now.
D E I E.
He also just shit his pants.
He's a small child.
He's got 20 to 30 to drive.
20s, 25.
Yeah.
It might not be Freddie anymore.
It might be Sir Fred.
I think Fred.
Do we just call him Fredrick?
Fred Schuster.
Fredrick?
Fred, like Fred Thompson.
It's still Freddie couples. No. Are you gonna hear shit on him?rick? Fred Schuster. Fredrick? Fred, like Fred Thompson. It's still Freddy Couples.
No.
Are you gonna get a shit on him?
I'll shit on him.
It's still Freddy Yockepsen.
Are you gonna shit on him?
Yeah, I will.
No, it's Frederick Yockepsen.
He's listed as Fredrick.
It's Freddy Yocke.
It's Freddy Yocke.
That's a nickname.
That's a name.
Fred Couples, Fred Yockepsen.
Yeah, I'm gonna say it on the leaderboard.
He don't go by Freddy either.
You need to bail on this, hit the HGEC.
He bailed in this take. Uh, nope. Somebody on, hit the H.A.J. I'm not. I'm bailing this Tick.
Nope. Somebody on the telecast
called a Mr. Couples on 16th of honor.
I know, gosh, I know we've said this forever,
but I again want to get out of this block that,
at some point, we need to do a critical analysis,
figure out where the Mr. Line is.
Who's in and who's out?
The Mendoza Line.
The Mendoza Line of the Mr.
Exactly, that would be great.
Cause I don't think Mr. Couples would make it
But that's I'm so tired of the ball washing
Augusta it's probably not gonna change but I have no I know it's not gonna change they're only ramping it up big question
Uh, I am under the impression that television coverage is starting at 7 30 a.m. For the completion of round one
Do we do we know if that's?
730 a.m. for the completion of round one.
Do we know if that's, I might be out on a limb there, but I thought that's what I saw on the television before we came up here.
Never ask us questions that nobody's going to know the answer to.
You're setting us up for failure.
Well, average will resume at 730 a.m.
Eastern time on ESPN and masters.com.
And Saul, you're really interesting to bid earlier.
You're right.
Very interesting to bid about.
If should it run late or over on Sunday? I saw this report, John Very interesting to bid about, uh, if should it run late or over
on Sunday? I saw this report, John Orren reported this that, uh, if there is a playoff or
if play runs late on Sunday, the remaining shots will be aired on ABC. How about that?
How about that? Who would have thought masters Sunday would be on ABC potentially?
Yes, man. And I mean, this is the last dance for Lance.
That's true.
All right.
Lance Barrow, man, it's been a ride, man.
It's been a ride.
I can't believe we're, I can't believe we're, I can't believe we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, Chaz had a double he started on 10 who good is that I got he had a double on 11 and then he buried 13
He buried two I got I got two questions for you and if you guys have any questions in the comments
Please feel free to to chime in
One I want to know Randy we obviously talked a lot about the us open
What is the us open supposed to be what's the identity?
Of course yada yada yada you guys projected a bunch of your stupid bullshit on the usga
Of course, and then and then my greatest quit and teamed up with Tommy Fazio
So we'll just leave that there. You tell me. Yeah
What what what's the identity of the masters from a golf playability or good not not playability the competition standpoint What do you like to see? What's the set up? So, what do you think of how they set up today?
No playing it up, sending guys out
before the delay this morning?
Oh, that's all cool.
I love that.
I think that you like that.
I thought that was chicken shit.
I thought it was clearly like they're gonna get one hole,
maybe a hole and a half in like why send them out.
And the forecast looks pretty decent the rest of the weekend.
Not like, why not?
Would they have sent the cat out in that?
Ooh.
Well, why they put the cat in the early, early Thursday?
Well, I think that was like days ago.
I, listen, let me answer your question on the right.
The masters is all about big swings,
right? So you need to be able to score really well, but we also need some disaster lurking.
I think today, obviously, I will excuse the supers because of the rain. It tilted more towards.
It's just a little too easy. I think I I think, like to say, a little more teeth.
Yeah, but I'm confident they're gonna be cranking the sub-airs.
They're gonna get the courses as kind of dialed as possible
by the weekend.
Randy, are you a sub-air guy?
I love sub-air.
I'd run it all the time if I could.
Are you pro mud balls in the masters?
Yes, of course.
Pro-mobiles everywhere.
Last question I had.
Wait, I mean this is a lot of stuff.
Sorry, sorry, sorry.
It's cross-be entertained products. So so I'm also ProModBall.
You think it's more entertaining to watch MudBalls?
No, only in certain, like today, yes, or they're so stubborn
that they won't, and I guarantee, like,
if it were to rain like this for three days by day two,
they'd be like, yeah, like we're gonna do with clean and
places, exhausting.
I mean, you know, I'm for anything that kind of takes control out of the people's hands,
gives a little randomness to it.
The fact that we get to see Bubba yelling again,
that's a mellowed out Bubba.
That's a treat.
I think that tests the mental component a little bit.
Psychologically, who can handle a bad break?
Who's that?
That's how it, what are your thoughts?
I think the shots at Augusta are hard enough as it is.
They're so challenging.
They hit off downhill lies, side-hull lies shots that the balls below your feet need
to draw.
Above your feet need to hit a fade.
The challenge is already there.
Grand it was super soft today, but I think the mud ball part is just like, it takes the
skill out of some of those shots out of it.
It's like plain water.
Yeah.
I totally get that.
But also going back to Augusta, like I think there's zero flexibility in how they set the
golf course up too, right?
Like there's one set of T-boxes that they can use.
They were up, like they 13 was kind of up a little bit today.
Four was up to a different box.
Like they were not stretching the holes all the way back and the pins were extremely, extremely benign.
And so I think, I think there,
so I guess the argument would be like,
if they played it up to those pins today,
it would have been, there would have been 62.
I really do think so.
Did we get any, I still don't think we're out of the woods on that.
I think, you know,
did we get any update on,
did they ratchet the tree limb down on, on 13?
Do not, have you seen the pictures?
It's unbelievable.
Yeah, I couldn't stop looking at them.
I can't overstate, like that needs to be on the pin sheet.
Everyone, that's what I'm saying.
Where is the limb?
And then the last question I had, I'm sure there'll be others,
but what were your thoughts of the,
you know what, I guess I'm just gonna say,
a fan list, masters, not patron list.
What was it?
I thought we saw some different angles.
Through the camera work was the best I've ever seen in a guest.
And your own stuff was cool.
It was a different look.
There was that kind of look from the back of the clubhouse up to, like, I don't know,
I liked it.
It was a different look.
And you would rely on a competent network or team of producers, which I don't know, I liked it. It was a different look. And you would rely on a competent
network or team of producers, which I would imagine that this was probably ESPN doing this,
but you would rely on guys to show us this year over year over year. And CBS has just shown
us the exact same product for the last 30 years.
A couple different angles seem to be just different angles
for the sake of different angles.
Like I don't think the new one on nine showed off
any better aspect of the whole.
It's just trying to show off the like one orange tree.
I guess, yeah, I'm not sure why some of them were moved,
but like I definitely thought it was the best contouring
example I've ever seen at the Masters.
It's just the drone shots, the layers,
those added, I don't know if they were, you know,
far away cameras that were zoomed more,
that were able to show kind of more slopes
and stuff like that.
We always say that, you know, a lot of these cameras
flatten everything, but I felt like it popped.
Maybe it's the different colors,
maybe it's the different light.
You see, it's kind of low, there's a lot of contrast.
Yeah, with some of the mega light there at the end.
Or something like that. There was some mega light there at the end, I would say.
No fans didn't bother me.
I think come this weekend, it'll be.
It's weird.
We'll miss them.
The only thing I'll say, not to make it too meta of a take,
but I do like that in the highlights, in the replays,
all that stuff, this is gonna tie it to 2020.
You know what I mean?
I almost kinda dig like there was a,
I would urge you to seek or not seek this out on your own,
but there was a column written by the AP
about how this was the masters that we just absolutely
didn't need, and it's such a waste.
I can't believe they're doing it.
The guy went into excruciating detail.
Was this Mr. Ferguson?
No, this was Paul Newberry.
He went into excruciating detail about the line at T-bones,
the steakhouse down the road, and how it wasn't even packed,
blah, blah, blah.
And cancel the masters and win the line at T-bones.
That was a big corrective as argument.
But the point being was we just didn't need this,
blah, blah, blah, it's for saking too many of the traditions.
I just, holy shit, do I not think anybody's gonna get
through the end of this tournament and be like,
God, I'm just so bummed I watch that, what a waste.
There's nothing against my Jesus flowing,
like when we start talking about forsaking traditions.
Like, honestly, it goes to your ball washing, like,
you know, fuck your job.
No, I mean, I'm going back to Mr. Nicholas this morning
and Barbara.
Barbara.
Barbara is the, the, the catty.
A special master's in a special catty.
Like come on man, get out of here.
It's just, it can be too much.
I guess my point being that I almost think it's like,
would have been the Augusta of old to cancel it
if they're like, well we can't have the par three contest.
We can't have the patrons.
We can't do this.
I do applaud them for having some flexibility.
That's what I'm saying.
I think it's actually cool that we're doing it and that we will now have one in the
history and people might say it's an asterisk because it was not as much pressure.
The roars weren't there.
I think it's cool that it's like, man, 2020 is a fucked up year.
And we had kind of a fucked up masters and like, here's the proof.
I don't think it's, I don't think it's, I don't think somebody can hold it against
this for being jaded against them over the last 20 years, though, either. but masters and like here's the proof. I don't think it's, I don't think it's, I don't think somebody can hold it against us
for being jaded against them over the last 20 years, though,
either.
No, of course.
Yeah, I'm applauding them.
I mean, I think it's a great thing to do.
I think he's saying, it's a great thing to do this year,
but I think that, you know, their history is not great.
Right.
If the Redler keeps us up and he keeps,
he's our, he's our one and only hope for,
like this seems to be the one kind of flash point
or one of the first flash points of the rollback thing.
Of like, hey, we're like,
this is where we start taking a stand.
Yeah.
Right? And that's, like that feels real
and that feels substantive and all that.
And he's basically giving a warning
and then we get to an April masters
because there's another masters in six months, right?
I meant to mention this earlier,
but I will say this golf course is,
it's so totally different when approach shots
are not taking the slopes.
Like, it is not the same test.
It's not the same course knowledge.
When, when Mikkelsen,, like right before we came on,
Mikkelsen missed left on 11.
Like missed 15 feet, 20 feet left of the pen on 11,
and it stays up on the green.
And it was like watching something at sawgrass
or something, it's like, I feel like they brought in
the TPC sawgrass, a gronymy team
to handle the overseas and all this, you know.
Well, that was the wetness. I don't know.
Yeah, I'm not critiquing anyone for that. I'm not saying it's bad setup or anything like that.
I just think like, this course is defined by not missing in the wrong spots and you can
miss in the wrong spots. There you can miss in the wrong spots.
There's a risk reward.
I think one thing to think about,
and I'm just now realizing this, is,
you know, speaking of the experience of knowing
how balls bound off slopes being so valuable,
I wonder if the dudes that have played
like in a ton of these things,
like some of the ones that Phil and Tiger played in,
and the 2000s, I'm thinking back to like 2005,
where there was all the rain. The experience of- Was that the Zack Johnson year? No, that was the- that Phil and Tiger played in and the, you know, in the 2000s, I'm thinking back to like 2005 where there was all the rain.
The experience of the exact Johnson year?
No, the, the, the Demarco year.
Oh, um, the experience of knowing how to play these greens when the ball is backing
up might be a huge factor because that was a thing today was judging how far your ball
is going to come backwards, how far past some of the pins you could get.
That's something that might be, I mean, there were five woods and three woods
that were hitting 15 green and stopping
and moving back a little bit today.
Like it is so completely different.
I mean, shit, who was it on the,
I mean, last 20 minutes of broadcast,
they hit one front left of 15 to where it would have rolled
in, oh, zander, I think.
I mean, that thing would have rolled
into the pond
10 times out of 10 right and it just stuck right there. How about Lee Westwood's class today when coke getting out of the way of coke Rex ball going in the water
They got a shuffle it to shuffle and then marking the tea for him
I did not know that kind of torso
Existing are you suggesting that that Westwood was not all in all in the water?
I think coke rec was all in on helping his fellow competitor.
We can say that.
I'd like to shout out.
And of course, it's not going to try Coke Crack.
Hashtag Tri-Me.
Couple guys, I like to shout out Mike Weir, minus one.
How about that?
71.
Let's put some good golf in the champion store too.
Yes, he's kind of revisited it.
I thought that was an interesting pod. Podcast bump. You do it with him where, you know, he's kind of revisited it. I thought that was an interesting pod.
Podcast bump.
You do it with him where, you know, he's a true professional,
he's a craftsman and he's like, hey, like I'm a golfer,
that's what I am.
I'd be remiss if we didn't mention Patrick Cantley.
It's two under through nine.
I feel like it's sneaky that a lot of these guys
have won't play nine holes.
I know we've covered that, but like.
That's what I was trying to say earlier.
I think it's interesting. All these guys who have a lot of holes tomorrow. You know nine holes. I know we've covered that, but like... That's what I was trying to say earlier. I think it's interesting.
All these guys who have a lot of holes tomorrow.
You know who's in the house at 400?
That's a little scary.
Pat Reed.
Peer Reed.
Peer.
He never scares me.
Speaking of Pat Reed.
Well, real quick, Justine has said
that this master's doesn't count.
No, I've had to just...
I've led you allegedly.
Allegedly.
So at you scoff...
At you scoff facts, she said, no one should be awarded a major championship.
Nonetheless, a green jacket tagged at the masters without the pressure and excitement fans bring.
Having less fans at majors is just like having fans at a rider cup.
Why have a major with no fans?
No fans, no rider cup should be the same for majors.
First of all, justine's the biggest alpha
into her.
Secondly, I think she would hold to that if Patrick won.
That's actually, yeah, that's possible.
Really?
It's gonna be interesting to see, you know,
if that tweak gets deleted as the weekend goes on.
Justine's going after, she's been going.
A legit legend.
I haven't, haven't yeah allegedly
listen all this alleged her it's complete
tour to force I've been to play all the
taking a taking the last couple months
off Twitter she's been going after
costus she's going after everybody
she's going after Monday the whole
system on trial T.C. I think you need
to really dig in their deep and have
a full report for us I'm on a
DM or not she's a follower
she's an electrol She's an electron.
She's an electron.
Also, I'd like to shout out John Augustine.
Yeah.
He's the current low-am.
Playing with the cat.
That's sweet, right?
John.
Sorry, sorry, Andy Ogletree's playing with the cat.
Yeah, actually, Andy Ogletree's playing with the cat.
Andy means to apologize if you didn't listen to the...
Ogletree. You didn't correct me. No, you actually, and Randy Ogle and Randy needs to apologize if you didn't listen to the Ogle tree.
You didn't correct me.
No, you entrap my ass.
All right.
So, so he said, it is Ogle tree.
So, I think it's Ogle.
No, it's Ogle tree.
You're a moron.
I don't know.
Why you want to check that?
Agreed to disagree.
There's a lot of Ogle thorps around Augusta.
Agreed to disagree, I thought.
Who could say?
Randy's a big Clarkshill Lake guy.
I wanna give a quick shout up to Golf Channel
for some of their master's content.
It's been kinda just playing and repeat.
Aside from Brando.
Brando, yeah, of Typhoon.
Brando's like, Colonel Kurtz down the fucking Econ.
Okay.
There's stuff on the Augusta caddies. It was awesome.
I don't know if you guys caught that.
Just about like, just how the culture of the club
and they visit with a lot of the family members
of some of the old caddies that have either passed away
and then some of the old caddies.
Just what that culture was like,
what it was like for them to pick up bags
for the masters, Iron Man, who caddyed for all four
Arnold Palmer victories.
It's fantastic. And then they had another segment on the 12th hole last year and just kind of highlighting
what happened there with interviews with Tony Finau and Francesco Moulinari and all
and Brooks Capica, all the dudes that hit it in the water on 12 when it mattered the most
and interviews from Tiger and, you know, the fact that they got them on camera on Mike
to say like, hey, here's one of the most painful moments
in my career.
Like that was impressive.
That takes some back end.
That's impressive.
Personal connections.
Those guys that spoke in pretty specifically
and openly with Michael Bamberger
and the second life of Tiger Woods.
So I wonder if they were already predisposed
having spoken to him about it. It was easier for them to go on camera. Was Bamberger the the second life of Tiger Woods. So I wonder if they were already predisposed having spoken to him about it.
It was easier for them to go in camera.
Was Bamberger the one doing it?
Wait, the caddy?
Are you talking about that?
No, it's just saying, oh sorry, the players,
like Mollinari.
They may have broke the seal with Bamberger.
Yeah, yeah.
So if you even want to go even deeper that book,
the second life of Tiger Woods is really good.
But no, I watched it twice last time.
I just had it streaming on there, but that was extra impressive. And then I wanted to challenge you guys as we,
I assume, get it close to wrapping. We made picks beforehand. Are you changing your pick to win
the Masters? If you could right now, after day one, would you change your pick to early for me?
Roy's got nine holes, you know, I kind of, I'm, I'm buying into your, you know, I, you've sold me
a little bit on your theory. Get them run down.
Get them momentum rolling early tomorrow morning.
Very, of course, I'm sticking with Bryson.
If I was going to change, only been 10 holes,
JT looks really freaking good.
I know, don't wait, I feel like we find ourselves
in this spot.
I'm not.
I think we talked about that a little bit
on the pod this week.
I picked DJ, he's 300 through nine.
So you tell me.
He's a pretty good spot.
Otherwise, I'm gonna change my pick to Adam Scott.
Adam Scott looks.
Well, are you changing your pick?
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
I'm still DJ, my pick without him Scott was top 10.
So I'm gonna go with that.
I had Bryson, I would change my pick if I could.
Come on, you're not meant for this word, man.
You're not meant for it.
The cat.
Shot the cat?
You're being a shock to us.
You're being a shock to us.
This is it serious.
He's gonna do this for four days.
This is a dead cat, pump.
I still think Michelson's gonna beat Tiger.
Do you know how hard it is to walk on,
not concerned?
Wet turf and it's gonna be,
I just needed to see a little sign of life.
So I think with Tiger, it's like, once it starts going,
like all of the other physical stuff kind of goes out the window.
Like once he starts playing golf,
like feeling his way around it, how fast he's picking up the tee off it.
I know that sounds stupid.
How fast he's reaching out the tee off the tee.
There's a little signal, so.
That's like he's in control and he gets into this mode
that I think is kind of somewhat myth,
but also just like, you know what I'm getting at here.
I very much do, but the only.
We see Kat, mate.
The only counter I would give is maybe he's in that mode
because he's feeling really good
and he might not feel very good the whole week.
He might not, but guess what?
He's not off early again.
Like he won't.
Well, don't keep crowned with his tea time today,
not having to have a long ass day tomorrow.
Also, why is he feeling good?
And that my friend isn't interested in question.
It's the monster energy, of course.
Wow, that's a sick take.
It's a whole taken, I applaud you.
I would love to see 18 more.
I mean, I love the price.
I would too.
Like I would love to see it. I love bright, I love the price. I would too. Like, I would love to see it.
I love bright.
I mean, the price only shot, you know, could have been a lot worse than 200 today, but I
do, I did, I kind of wrote off the no Greens book kind of thing and it's a lot.
I think there's something to it.
Missing that pot on 10, I think is, you know, signal, he missed an easy pot on three.
And then the, his post run interview talking about's like, yeah, it was about 3%,
that's the best we could have done.
Like, that stuff really matters to him.
More than I think I want to be.
You know, it would be awesome
as if they changed the green.
If they did the greens book.
I think it changed the green.
Or whatever, like, and then changed the greens.
Like, cause like talking to Maddie,
they don't really tell anybody what they did
or what it is, especially on the greens.
It's like, hey, figure it out.
People were asking what happened with the limb.
It was, the tea was moved up enough that,
that, that limb did not add up.
And so that could be factored out.
It was still, it was still.
Also, I have some concerns with the limb as well,
where if the, the,
the Mclim, the,
if the limb is,
is so low,
to where Bryson is hitting it over the limit
and it's just it's just
concerning
all of the shorter hitters or we have to monitor this to make it we talk about
brison thirteen that t-shirt because that's the point huge disappointment
i mean
ninety eight percent of my energy the last night back down
it was back down by the weather by the by the by the humidity by the
barometric pressure.
I think it's all of it.
He's gonna shoot 64 tomorrow.
Jim Cantor back to his ass down.
I was expecting so, so, so much more with that shot.
I wanna give a shout out to the guy who just
had the Bryson Howard tree in the comments.
That's a much better name for the limb.
I'd also like to give a shout out to Mike Wallace,
finished 369. Mike Wallace.
If we're throwing out shout outs, Dylan Fertelli, 400 through his first nine, that's strong.
A lot of tweets about his aesthetic, not being very pleasant. Glasses were tough.
There was a lot of bad bad outfits, including the cat. There's always bad diary, I call it Nike shirts or Paul KC.
Paul KC was Nike has lost the plot as far as I'm concerned.
Guys, I don't want to alarm anybody.
Nike has no interest in selling any of,
they can't have interest in selling these shirts.
That's the wildest part talking to those guys.
They're like, we're printing money right now.
I think they're making some pretty good shoes,
but like all these print shirts and all the,
I don't understand it.
I will say Sung Jae, he is,
he's two under through seven.
He's probably one of the last groups.
He bogey'd five, birdied two, three, and seven.
He's on a heat right now.
Yeah, I think he's on a heat right now.
Roll, right now. Literally, right now he's right now. Roll right now.
Really right now. And he's waiting for the next.
What are they 14 hours? He doesn't have a home.
He says out there sleeping on the empty.
I doubt you guys have the answer to this,
but what are they going to do as far as play tomorrow?
Are they going to try to cram in as much as they possibly can?
I think you try to cram in as much as you can.
Are they already already maxed out before they make the cut?
As far as what they can do. I mean, they're already pretty much
playing to play.
The USGA, right?
They're going a half hour earlier, I believe.
I think you just play as much as possible.
Try to get back on normal schedule.
I think that's definitely the play.
DJ, will you give me the dinner?
Tomorrow, you don't have to worry about...
You're ready to wrap it up.
You're ready for 30 minutes.
You don't have to worry about thirsty Gary tomorrow.
No starters tomorrow.
Just we're playing real golf tomorrow. That's true.
All right. Well, I think we can officially say that's what's going on at Augusta. I want to
give a shout out to Kevin Knoth for hitting every green today and shooting over par. Whoa. Really?
That's why I'm not walking them into that. That's the stuff that you're not going to get
unless you tune into the live shows every night. European tour also tweeted that.
Unless you follow the European.
But still, who's aggregating all those tweets?
That's what I'll ask you.
All right, let's shut it down there.
We'll be doing this again tomorrow.
Cheers, fun to be back.
Shout out Elijah Craig and Golfbubrin.
Let's do it.
Cheers.
Thank you.
Cheers, Crackle. I'm going to give it a try.
Be the right club today.
That's better than most.
How about in?
That is better than most.
Better than most.
Expect anything different.
I
Expect anything different
