The master's know, what, the masters on Saturday was blank. What, what do you got? It was, they, it went a lot of juice for me today. And I think that's because of two things.

One DJ just was surgical. I mean, it was a very boring 65. In a way, it was a, kind of like a no hitter. Like, you know, one nothing, no hitter. It was a really, really, really well played round a golf, but it's just pretty boring to watch him do it. I disagree with that. I disagree with that as well.

But I see where you're coming from, but I do disagree in that. I just kind of got glazed over, but... Well, Solid said something very prescient on the pod was that it felt very cat-like in his round today. Yeah, I mean, it was just complete control of the golf ball, the every ball, except for this shot into 18 went exactly where it should. You're, were used to kind of see him get reckless, do something just completely boneheaded and he did not want to do that.

Maybe he's saving all of that for Sunday. I don't know. I am absolutely amazed that people are willing to give him this with always seen from Dustin over the years. It's people don't ever learn. I think he's going to win, of course, but I am officially putting the curse on him because everyone on my picks for this week has just been god awful on this show. So DJ is going to win tomorrow.

Hope that brings us a little more. I don't think he's lost it in the past because he's been reckless. All right, you guys wanted to talk about pebble earlier. First of all, that's a decade ago. until after thought. Which was interesting, because Fowler was calling for the fade there on that shot. As well. Should have played his normal fade like JT. What best shot of the day from DJ? I'm with Sali, this is a bit of a cop out answer, but the two putt birdies on the two par five.

So it's like it truly we kept saying this is a joke, but it felt like a no hitter. Like it just felt like he was in total complete control, hit it exactly where you need to hit it. Finch. He kept saying, oh, he's laying up with this through it off the tee on 13. Many, many players don't hit draft. He was laying back. He wasn't laying up though. He still easily went for the green and easy to put bird. So I think that was the thing to me where it's like even like he's playing his game, but he's still totally committed and aggressive, even when he's laying back. He did it. It's not a Sunday, Elkington, but he did an Elkington. He went around with the lead and had the best round of the day. That's a really good comp to you.

Yeah. That was the other, maybe lack of juice for me. The other thing that I was struggling with was, I'm rooting for JT, right? I feel like there was nobody charging. There's no race going on is what it felt like. But it doesn't feel like, you know, when Tiger does this at Pebble and what is it? 2000 when he runs away with it.

And it's like, oh my God, this is historic. It doesn't feel historic. Even though he probably get the scoring record, I understand all of that, but it just feels very routine, which is what I'm struggling with. I think some of that is no fan. I think some of it is Lance Barrow. I mean, CBS, like, they, like, like, for instance, on 18,

they're showing his drive and they do this, this artsy shot from sideways, and it's the one shot, it's the one drive all day on 18 that we didn't see the, the pro-trace around. I didn't even hear Fowdo predict what the ball flight was gonna be on that hole. I think he's gonna hit a fade. It was a bold call when he said, Sungjae was gonna step in up and go to hit a fade.

And to my surprise, on the whole that shape left to right up the hill that every single person has ever had a fade, Sungjae also had a fade. I could not believe that. Let's transition quickly. Shout out to Governor Morse. And because we're going to come back to Dustin,

That's what I was kind of looking at this morning was like, all right, listen, Dustin very well could step away, but like there's a lot of firepower in the leaderboard,

a lot of horsepower between ROM, JT, KANT-LAY, those guys kind of faded, really faded, and we're left with those names, are the only people within five of the best player in the world right now. So that's adding to mind spells. Suspossibly. Yeah.

I mean, Abe would be above that group if he wouldn't have made a mess on 13. And I like watching Abe play, but he's not exciting. No, I like watching all those guys play. Honestly, DJs have been saying that Abe looks like he's in the drive trip and putt. He looks like drivers to all. He looks like the driver's way too big for him. He's having a great time, which he loves to see.

The fact that there's no teeth in this golf course right now, there's not a lot of opportunity for DJ to really go backwards. Like a lot of major championship golf courses. It's sitting there waiting for you. The second it gets a little wayward and you're missing in very, you know, small variant spots. It can spiral on you. I don't see that out of a gustor right now. And I don't think that dials up overnight. And the pins are gonna be even, in theory, even easier tomorrow.

You know what a good, something that poor tens what we might see tomorrow is how many of those fucking balls of state up on 15? Yeah. You know what I mean? Like that's where, 13 to, that's where if you see someone punt away the masters,

it's gonna be on a shot like that, where they drive it out of position, they lay up and they have a little nippy wedge in on 15 and they spin it off the green. There have been so many that have just hung up and that's just not happening this year. So I think that speaks to what you should hit a cut in there. I want to talk about GT because I think it's time to like... Before you do, I want to give a shout out to some of the commentators or the commenters are calling you Stevie Ray Tron, which I thought was really good. I needed to be out there.

I know the people on the podcast can't see Tron right now, but it's a really good take. Tron, talk about JT. It's, he's pressing. Like the shot on, the shot on 15. Easy one to overcook. I'm not making excuses, but for someone who naturally plays a fade, trying to hit, you have to hit a draw into that green.

I mean, I think that's the miss, right? It's gonna be short right or long left. And I don't think you really don't wanna be short right. I don't think he feared that going in the water. I think that was a bit of a shock. I think with the as soft as it is, he felt like he could sling one around there and the worst that was gonna happen was just gonna go long.

It took a huge first hop. The Bogey on 12 was a bit unforced. Yeah. And then he made a great up and down on 13. It's some of the, even though I know he's won a major, I think this is some of the best golf I've ever seen J.C. play in a major, like he's been in total control to driver for the most part. He's getting, I think that's a frustrating part.

I know, that's a, I'm right. I didn't really see coming, because he was in such great control and actually playing the kind of, you can tell when he gets that little driver to go on he's got his game really in the right spot. Four back nine bogeys man that you know he bogeys for the last six holes. He went he went long left on 14 for the bogeys well like he had he was Icarito in the back nine.

Well after 10 he birdies 10 I was like man he's got it going like this is he's going to you know it's going to be JT and DJ, it's gonna be awesome. And then yeah, the Sean 12 was frustrating. I have to flag it to the back pin. He made one of the best points, I know it's fairly obvious when you talk about soft greens, but he was talking about how hard the back pins are. And usually at majors, like the back pins are much easier to get to because the greens are firm

and you can land it in the middle and it might release back there. But when they're this soft, you're trying to fly it back there and get it close and that's where you see guys air mailing more of these greens. And I thought that was interesting because he kind of got nipped by that a couple of times today.

It's a great, great golf course right now to be playing from out in front of. Like there's a very safe and easy spot to hit too for DJing a lot of them. And like a lot of the bogies that JT made coming in were getting after pins and hitting the spots that he got he yeah were maybe a bit uncomfortable and brought that into play more so than like yeah that I think it's very good setup for DJ to not back up tomorrow tomorrow. That's what I'm gonna say. So it just felt like with with with with JT he was trying

to force the issue all day like he was trying he was trying to make up ground he was trying to make up ground and then all of a sudden he gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar three or four times on the back nine. I would say four, like starting at 14, maybe a little bit. I don't think, I think 15 was, I mean, DJ hit the same shot, a draw from the left side around the corner and he just didn't over cook it. I mean, it wasn't, what was JT hitting in there though? I don't know.

It doesn't. It's seven iron, which I thought JT was hitting way more. I had to have that. I could be wrong. I would definitely think so. But again, to the point, Fowdo was saying he should hit, like after the hole was over and after the shot was over, said, yeah, yeah, he should have hit a fade in there when the tree was in the way of a fade was.

Those guys have been absolutely all over the, like, what do you call it? The armchair, like the very late criticism after the result has happened, been like, oh yeah, this was not the right strategy for this. We can talk about some of the Bryson stuff too, but that has been especially frustrating. It just like, it throws the whole conversation off

because you're in theory informing a lot of viewers, very sucks too, when you're seeing stuff five minutes before on the live feeds on the internet too. And then you're, but like you're trying to kind of stay centered on the main, you know, on the main feed, on the main telecast just because that's where, that's where,

that's what everybody's talking about, that's where the action is, but then you're seeing these little pops here and there. And you're like, like, I mean, whatever was going on either outside the gates or over to gust a country club at one point. Cashier pulled out a gum from the counter. I'm like, listen, man, you want to step up, step up, and Rob hooked it in the woods. I think the gang that he was with forced him to be the mark. Like, he's like, no, you can do it, man. You got this in you. Like, come on, go hit it. You go, go.

You go rob the gun store or rob the liquor store. And he goes in there and just got absolutely bust. Well, he sees DJ doing it. That's right. That's exactly right. But yeah, the shot on eight was, well first of all, it was drawing and like,

like, figureating. The low quack was great. But the punch shot off the tree into the shit was very relatable. It was probably cooler. Very relatable. I will shout out CBS for that. They did not leave that sequence at all.
