I'm going to be the right club today.
Yeah. That's better than most.
How about him?
That is better than most.
Better than most. Oh, ladies and gentlemen, we're live.
We are live.
Welcome back into live from the Killhouse DJ.
I ask you here with Tron, you know, we'll get to you last.
Solid, welcome, Neil, welcome, and Tron, the first thing I thought when I looked over
at you is you have a historically
questionable front runner who you love watching and you decided to go with the great
Northern hat trying to just get out in front of it man very questionable punching all these all these
you know
predictions and
assumptions right in the face
He's gonna do it. Well you also have like the the camp smith. I know. Get up on time.
Trying to kind of a kind of a kind of a newton vibe, honestly.
I got a question. Well,
camp,
camp smith's repping for Jack's speech. He's our guy.
Would you say we're headed for a great finish tomorrow?
It better be better than Saturday.
Cause speaking of great finishes,
I've been really enjoying the Elijah Craig bourbon
lately.
As we all have been here on the live show from the small batch to the barrel proof, there's
greatness within every expression of their award-winning Kentucky bourbons.
They even have a rye whiskey.
We haven't really talked about that.
Elijah Craig was named the best small batch bourbon at the San Francisco World Spirit's
competition, chosen unanimously by a blind taste testing panel
of 40 whiskey experts.
We're not experts, but we do enjoy it.
And not only is it celebrated by the experts, but it's enjoyed by all, and I would say all
of those present here today.
We've been enjoying the heck out of it.
And Barrel Proof was named 2017's whiskey of the year by whiskey advocate, even over
Scotch.
So you can pick up a bottle today and discover the greatness within.
No laying up is brought to you by Elijah Craig, Kentucky St. Berb and Whiskey Bards Town,
Kentucky. 47% alcohol by volume Elijah Craig reminds you to think wisely and drink wisely.
Really want to see you do that last bit in one breath. I know. I'm working on it, man.
I'm working on it. Okay. It's all a great stuff, man.
Gentlemen, thanks. Thanks. Where should we start? I'm just looking at the questions popping
in.
One first one, a lot of people questioning why Randy's not here despite the fact that Dustin
Johnson is about to possibly save his own life tomorrow.
A lot of people ask him what TC's wearing.
I think we covered that up front.
You can watch the replay when this goes back up.
Neil, let me start with you.
I feel like we never start with you.
What sticks out to you? The master's know, what, the masters on Saturday was blank.
What, what do you got?
It was, they, it went a lot of juice for me today.
And I think that's because of two things.
One DJ just was surgical.
I mean, it was a very boring 65.
In a way, it was a, kind of like a no hitter.
Like, you know, one nothing, no hitter.
It was a really, really, really well played round a golf,
but it's just pretty boring to watch him do it.
I disagree with that.
I disagree with that as well.
But I see where you're coming from, but I do disagree in that.
I just kind of got glazed over, but...
Well, Solid said something very prescient on the pod was that it felt very cat-like
in his round today.
Yeah, I mean, it was just complete control of the golf ball, the every ball, except for this shot
into 18 went exactly where it should.
You're, were used to kind of see him get reckless, do something just completely boneheaded and
he did not want to do that.
Maybe he's saving all of that for Sunday.
I don't know.
I am absolutely amazed that people are willing to give him this with always seen from Dustin
over the years.
It's people don't ever learn.
I think he's going to win, of course, but I am officially putting the curse on him because
everyone on my picks for this week has just been god awful on this show.
So DJ is going to win tomorrow.
Hope that brings us a little more.
I don't think he's lost it in the past because he's been reckless.
All right, you guys wanted to talk about pebble earlier.
First of all, that's a decade ago. Second of all right, you guys wanted to talk about pebble earlier.
First of all, that's a decade ago.
Second of all, he straight up just didn't have it that day.
It's not like he made one bad decision or something.
He made some bad decisions in the real process.
I mean, he made bad decisions, but he didn't have it.
I don't, I don't want to speak for you guys.
Nobody thinks we're gonna see pebble tomorrow.
No, that's not the issue.
That's a straw man.
You asked me, but we could see Chambers Bay.
We could see, you know,
Wishing Straits.
We could even see Harding Park.
You know, saying George's,
why is nobody mentioned to Oakmont?
We could see Oakmont very well.
Right.
It's done that before too.
Okay, let me ask you guys a question.
Other than number two, you said it's very cat-like.
I feel like when cat does this,
there's a seminal shot
There's a oh my god. I can't believe you did that. What was the best shot of the day?
He almost flew the ball in the hole on two. I said I don't know that was four hours ago
But what I'm saying is I glazed over a little bit because everything was just very routine
The shot into 15 was like the one that when you drove it other than the left
I was like okay, this is actually gonna be interesting
I know you can kind of blow it right on 15
if you're out of position, but blah blah blah.
He hit it in the lottery yesterday.
So I was like, is he gonna lay up?
Like, is he gonna start playing this?
Like he has a lead and he just stepped right up,
hit a draw around the corner,
covered easily seven iron from like 206
and it was a, the water was a complete
until after thought.
Which was interesting,
because Fowler was calling for the fade there on that shot.
As well.
Should have played his normal fade like JT.
What best shot of the day from DJ?
I'm with Sali, this is a bit of a cop out answer,
but the two putt birdies on the two par five.
So it's like it truly we kept saying this is a joke,
but it felt like a no hitter.
Like it just felt like he was in total complete control,
hit it exactly where you need to hit it.
No unnecessary risks like the only if you wanted to knock him,
other than I guess the shot on 18, which he got up and down, down and down. complete control, hit it exactly where you need to hit it. No unnecessary risks, like the only if you wanted to knock him,
other than I guess the shot on 18, which he got up and down,
down and down.
But the only knock you could really hit him with is like,
oh, I guess he missed a couple like eight foot birdies.
Yeah.
But like other than that, I mean, it was just fucking...
Even like the shot that he hit on eight,
the second shot he hit on eight up to the right,
he hit a great chip afterwards.
I want to take issue with Ian Baker
Finch. He kept saying, oh, he's laying up with this through it off the tee on 13. Many,
many players don't hit draft. He was laying back. He wasn't laying up though. He still
easily went for the green and easy to put bird. So I think that was the thing to me where
it's like even like he's playing his game,
but he's still totally committed and aggressive, even when he's laying back.
He did it. It's not a Sunday, Elkington, but he did an Elkington.
He went around with the lead and had the best round of the day.
That's a really good comp to you.
Yeah. That was the other, maybe lack of juice for me.
The other thing that I was struggling with was,
I'm rooting for JT, right?
I feel like there was nobody charging.
There's no race going on is what it felt like.
But it doesn't feel like, you know,
when Tiger does this at Pebble and what is it?
2000 when he runs away with it.
And it's like, oh my God, this is historic.
It doesn't feel historic.
Even though he probably get the scoring record,
I understand all of that, but it just feels very routine,
which is what I'm struggling with.
I think some of that is no fan.
I think some of it is Lance Barrow.
I mean, CBS, like, they, like, like, for instance, on 18,
they're showing his drive and they do this, this artsy shot
from sideways, and it's the one shot, it's the one drive all day on 18
that we didn't see the, the pro-trace around.
I didn't even hear Fowdo predict
what the ball flight was gonna be on that hole.
I think he's gonna hit a fade.
It was a bold call when he said,
Sungjae was gonna step in up and go to hit a fade.
And to my surprise, on the whole
that shape left to right up the hill
that every single person has ever had a fade,
Sungjae also had a fade.
I could not believe that.
Let's transition quickly.
Shout out to Governor Morse.
And because we're going to come back to Dustin,
I'm sure, and come back to what's going to happen tomorrow.
Let me read off a couple names for you guys.
Sungjae, him, Abraham, answer,
Cam Smith, and Dylan for Tully, Dilan for Tully.
The only players within five shots on a Sunday at a major.
That's what I was kind of looking at this morning was like,
all right, listen, Dustin very well could step away,
but like there's a lot of firepower in the leaderboard,
a lot of horsepower between ROM, JT, KANT-LAY,
those guys kind of faded, really faded,
and we're left with those names,
are the only people within five of the best player
in the world right now.
So that's adding to mind spells.
Suspossibly.
Yeah.
I mean, Abe would be above that group if he wouldn't have made a mess on 13.
And I like watching Abe play, but he's not exciting.
No, I like watching all those guys play.
Honestly, DJs have been saying that Abe looks like he's in the drive trip and putt.
He looks like drivers to all. He looks like the driver's way too big for him. He's just he's in the drive-chip and putt. Like, the, he looks like drivers too long.
He looks like the driver's way too big for him.
He's just, he's swinging the hell out of it.
He's having a great time, which he loves to see.
Many people are saying Abe and Cam were the 14 and 15 year old drive-chip and putttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt What before we move on from D just kind of comparing him to what's right below him.
The fact that there's no teeth in this golf course right now, there's not a lot of
opportunity for DJ to really go backwards. Like a lot of major championship golf courses.
It's sitting there waiting for you. The second it gets a little wayward and you're missing in very,
you know, small variant spots. It can spiral on you. I don't see that out of a gustor right now.
And I don't think that dials up overnight.
And the pins are gonna be even,
in theory, even easier tomorrow.
You know what a good,
something that poor tens what we might see tomorrow
is how many of those fucking balls of state up on 15?
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Like that's where,
13 to, that's where if you see someone
punt away the masters,
it's gonna be on a shot like that,
where they drive it out of position,
they lay up and they have a little nippy wedge in on 15
and they spin it off the green.
There have been so many that have just hung up and that's just not happening this year.
So I think that speaks to what you should hit a cut in there.
I want to talk about GT because I think it's time to like...
Before you do, I want to give a shout out to some of the commentators or the commenters are calling you Stevie Ray Tron, which I thought was really good. I needed to be out there.
I know the people on the podcast can't see Tron right now,
but it's a really good take.
Tron, talk about JT.
It's, he's pressing.
Like the shot on, the shot on 15.
Easy one to overcook.
I'm not making excuses, but for someone who naturally plays
a fade, trying to hit, you have to hit a draw into that green.
I mean, I think that's the miss, right?
It's gonna be short right or long left.
And I don't think you really don't wanna be short right.
I don't think he feared that going in the water.
I think that was a bit of a shock.
I think with the as soft as it is,
he felt like he could sling one around there
and the worst that was gonna happen was just gonna go long.
It took a huge first hop.
The Bogey on 12 was a bit unforced. Yeah.
And then he made a great up and down on 13.
It's some of the, even though I know he's won a major,
I think this is some of the best golf I've ever seen J.C.
play in a major, like he's been in total control
to driver for the most part.
He's getting, I think that's a frustrating part.
I know, that's a, I'm right.
I didn't really see coming, because he was in
such great control and actually playing the kind of,
you can tell when he gets that little driver to go on he's got his game really in the right
spot.
Four back nine bogeys man that you know he bogeys for the last six holes.
He went he went long left on 14 for the bogeys well like he had he was Icarito in the back
nine.
Well after 10 he birdies 10 I was like man he's got it going like this is he's going
to you know it's going to be JT and DJ, it's gonna be awesome. And then yeah, the Sean 12 was frustrating.
I have to flag it to the back pin.
He made one of the best points, I know it's fairly obvious
when you talk about soft greens,
but he was talking about how hard the back pins are.
And usually at majors, like the back pins are much easier
to get to because the greens are firm
and you can land it in the middle
and it might release back there.
But when they're this soft,
you're trying to fly it back there and get it close
and that's where you see guys air mailing more of these greens.
And I thought that was interesting
because he kind of got nipped by that
a couple of times today.
It's a great, great golf course right now
to be playing from out in front of.
Like there's a very safe and easy spot to hit too
for DJing a lot of them.
And like a lot of the bogies that JT made coming in
were getting after pins and hitting the spots that he got he yeah were maybe a bit uncomfortable and brought that into
play more so than like yeah that I think it's very good setup for DJ to not back up tomorrow
tomorrow. That's what I'm gonna say. So it just felt like with with with with JT he was trying
to force the issue all day like he was trying he was trying to make up ground he was trying
to make up ground and then all of a sudden he gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar
three or four times on the back nine.
I would say four, like starting at 14, maybe a little bit.
I don't think, I think 15 was, I mean, DJ hit the same shot, a draw from the left side
around the corner and he just didn't over cook it.
I mean, it wasn't, what was JT hitting in there though?
I don't know.
It doesn't.
It's seven iron, which I thought JT was hitting way more.
I had to have that.
I could be wrong.
I would definitely think so. But again, to the point, Fowdo was saying he should hit,
like after the hole was over and after the shot was over,
said, yeah, yeah, he should have hit a fade in there
when the tree was in the way of a fade was.
Those guys have been absolutely all over the,
like, what do you call it?
The armchair, like the very late criticism
after the result has happened,
been like, oh yeah, this was not the right strategy for this.
We can talk about some of the Bryson stuff too,
but that has been especially frustrating.
It just like, it throws the whole conversation off
because you're in theory informing a lot of viewers,
very sucks too, when you're seeing stuff
five minutes before on the live feeds on the internet too.
And then you're,
but like you're trying to kind of stay centered
on the main, you know, on the main feed,
on the main telecast just because that's where,
that's where,
that's what everybody's talking about,
that's where the action is,
but then you're seeing these little pops here and there.
And you're like,
like, I mean, whatever was going on either outside the gates
or over to gust a country club at one point.
It was unbelievable. on either outside the gates or over to gust a country club at one point.
It was unbelievable.
But you heard the same thing for like five minutes.
Like they stretched out.
They have like Lance Barrow, you get shot off into the sun tomorrow.
But great career.
It's very good job.
For what out for you.
Very heartfelt from TC.
You guys want to talk about Ram's double on eight?
I like how sick was that.
How sick was that?
Generally, we were talking about lingering and loitering.
And then DJ's been looting.
I think Ram was trying to loot, but he got arrested.
I think Ram got put in the slam.
You got put in the slam.
They caught him walking out with a TV.
He was like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
he was trying to do.
He was trying to do anything.
He was trying to bully the cashier.
Yeah.
You know, he was trying to hit that low draw in the eight.
Like, I don't care.
I'll step up and hit it.
Cashier pulled out a gum from the counter.
I'm like, listen, man, you want to step up, step up,
and Rob hooked it in the woods.
I think the gang that he was with forced him to be the mark.
Like, he's like, no, you can do it, man.
You got this in you.
Like, come on, go hit it.
You go, go.
You go rob the gun store or rob the liquor store.
And he goes in there and just got absolutely bust.
Well, he sees DJ doing it.
That's right.
That's exactly right.
But yeah, the shot on eight was,
well first of all,
it was drawing and like,
like, figureating.
The low quack was great.
But the punch shot off the tree into the shit
was very relatable.
It was probably cooler.
Very relatable.
I will shout out CBS for that.
They did not leave that sequence at all.
Went back, showed replays, showed every facial expression that Ram had. That we needed that. So thank CBS for that. They did not leave that sequence at all. Went back, showed replays, showed every facial expression that Ron had.
That we needed that.
So thank you for that.
All right.
So how was that a yellow, how was that a hazard?
Was it a, was it?
Yeah, I thought I, I could be wrong, but I thought when he was walking over there,
there was a yellow line around those trees.
He got it.
He got it.
He got it.
He got it.
He got it.
He got it. He got it. He got in play behind the green. Yeah, it seems like a similar situation, but I could
be wrong.
Did he take a penalty drop? I lost track of that. I thought he was so far in there that
it would have been more than it was either a two club. It was a penalty. I don't know if
it was. It did take a penalty. I don't know if it was a unplayable. I don't know if it
I don't know what it was. That looks like a pretty far drop though. It'd be his dropped
yet. That's the half the off the tree shot right there
Which was sweet. Yeah, why would that be? That's interesting. It's yellow border tweeted something
I don't know what part of this round was in but he said he acted like he was gonna do the bow jacks and snapping the closes
It was it yeah, yeah, and then I mean shit his reaction on on 18 out of the bunker when he hit whatever, like over to the left, doesn't yell for, and then,
and then looks like, you know, absolutely dumbfounded.
Oh, it is defense. I don't think he ever saw it. I think that's why he looked up and never saw it,
but he did almost hit like 20 different people on that one. That was a great pen on 18 today.
That was what I was watching. I was, you know saying that, I've always thought 18 was kind of a let down,
just an uphill kind of ballbuster type hole.
It was really cool today.
I think it was a lot cooler without patrons.
Squeezing it close to that bunker on the left,
so you have a better angle to that back right pin,
it was just really really cool.
I can't believe I just said patrons.
That's, it looks a lot better with stuff.
Without bands, IBF, he said, said mud.
Oh, he did say mud, the variant, he didn't say mud ball.
Right.
He said there was some mud on the ball.
Yes.
Nobody has said mud ball to my ear.
Nobler said earth on the ball yesterday, which was incredible.
It is not coming from a guesonational hell, yeah.
That's, yes, confirmed, allegedly confirmed that is is the case and it's just so funny to see just
Hear the pro just very clearly on like the hot mics like
Yeah, I'm not sure what happened on that one there. I thought the camera man dropping an F bomb
Yeah, I'm too everybody's dropping at farms. It's been great. It's a complete sweepstaking for that
Who well shout out Dylan for Telly today, 67, along with the first round, 65, man, that second round,
73 is jumping off the page right now as far as the people at the top of the leaderboard.
That's like the only over par round you see up there.
If he could have stitched it together a little bit better and round two, he might be honestly
contending.
But yeah, I will say I didn't have in answer and Smith as the three
that we're gonna loiter the most.
Many people asking for an apology tonight.
Are you prepared to apologize?
For sure.
Oh my God, I'd Bryson before the tournament,
he shit his pants in round one.
Then I switched over to the cat.
He wasn't feeling well.
Who switched to the cat?
I was fully not out there.
That was it.
I let's stop that.
That was an all time bad take.
Of course.
Then I tried to call it out in real time.
The cat can't even walk.
Yeah, I can't bend over.
It's too old.
You can't get his ball on his toes.
I'm not doing this house.
He's too old.
Guys, I'm not done.
Then I switched to Kale and he's shit today.
Look, okay.
Yes.
It's not going great.
Well, I've been down with Sungjae.
I picked him.
I thought he was gonna charge.
New Atlanta residents. New Atlanta, yeah. That's very cool for picked him. I thought he was going to charge. New Atlanta residents, something.
New Atlanta.
Yeah, that's very cool for you guys.
A couple of ATLs, yeah.
Is it Metro Atlanta guy?
I'm a 770 guy, probably.
Which Randy pointed out.
Oh, it's probably 678.
Beatin' up all the Korean places over on Beaford Highway.
Good take, TC.
He, Randy pointed out that he would have updated his proprietary model of, you know,
who's had it.
Who's in a home game for?
Had he known that Sungjae was closing on House.
Sungjae is gonna be on that sold Atlanta Korean air flight.
I do need to give the pi man a shout out.
He called for Tally Ziggy from the wire today,
which I thought was excellent comparison.
I'm just like, what's up?
Yeah, man.
Well, that was, you were trying to convince me
that, and we can get to lingering loitering in a second.
You were trying to convince me that Fertelli was loitering.
I was saying, I do not see it.
I think he's the definition of lingering.
And you said, no, no, I think he's trying to
glom on to the loitering guys.
Like, he's trying to, he's trying to speed up
one of the boys.
He's the boys, he's like, what's up guys?
He's like Ziggy Sabaka.
They're like, fuck off, loser.
Oh man, I'm cool, dude, I'm sure to get slushied.
How about this?
I had a friend text me today that said,
do you think for telling Nozies wearing those glasses?
Which maybe, which maybe laughed for the art.
How about this, second to last T-time of the day tomorrow?
Speed and fill on the wrong side of the golf course.
Right.
So it is DJ.
I filled it not having to.
No, 79.
Getting bombs.
We have, driving it like a stallion.
Ramen reader paired together tomorrow,
which is sweet.
We got Vory, Capka, Fleetwood.
That's great.
Hadecki, Cantlay, Nond, and we have Cam Smith,
Dylan, Fatale, JT, and the second to the last group,
DJ, SungJ, and Abe, or Ham, answer in the final group.
Bryson and Longer together.
Oh my God.
That's gonna be delightful.
Yeah, like, all right.
We gotta talk about Bryson. Bryson's whole pity party. We'll get to we'll get to Bryson. We've talked about Bryson for 90%
He doesn't deserve. He doesn't deserve the airtime. What just yet. I did say we'd get to lingering
loitering. Is anybody loitering except Dustin? Yeah, Dustin's looting. Dustin's not even
looting. He's looting. He's peace. Dustin has been mostly peaceful throughout the week.
He's like Mark Wilbur.
Wilbur.
Wilbur.
That guy's like beating somebody up
and no one's doing anything about it.
And like his buddy is just standing around.
They're like, no dude knock it off.
No one is gonna stop him.
He's so like impressive.
No one wants to go near him.
They're like, just, I don't know. It's just let him finish.
I mean, I talk about like the Mark Wahlberg,
like the hate crime.
The personal hate crime.
Like, as an example, yes.
For example, just say,
it was a convenience store owner that he beat up.
That's what I'm getting at.
Gosh.
All right, so DJ is looting.
You guys are saying?
Yes, he's looting.
Is Sungjae, I would say,
if that's the case, I would say Sungjae is.
Sungjae, Abe, and Cam are all's the case, I would say Sungjae is.
Sungjae, Abe, and Cam are all loitering.
All of them?
Yes.
I think Sungjae is loitering.
They're sure.
I'm not gonna give you all of them.
Gotta pick.
You gotta pick one or two out of the three.
I think Cam's lingering.
I still think Cam's lingering.
I think Cam's lingering.
And here's why those pots, those par pots you made
at the end of the back nine, you run out of time.
That's the kind of his time box.
He's also one of the best putters.
Yeah, he's just a great putter.
I know that's going to be a greasy restaurant.
Sunday at Augusta, trying to make 10 footers on the back nine for par.
I don't think that holds up.
I'm with you on this one, Neil.
I was there last night as well, and that didn't, didn't really go that way today.
But you have four rounds of that.
I was a lot to ask for.
Sungjae, Sungjae is the only guy that I would pick outside of DJ.
Sungjae feels like, I mean, what are you gonna have to do tomorrow?
You're gonna have to hit it close and make it done, but...
Right. You're gonna have to get in the keyster on three.
On two. Yeah.
You're gonna have to make noise on three,
and then you're gonna have to be like within a shot by eight.
Otherwise, I think it's gonna get late early.
Yeah, I think that's...
I think... Sebastian Munoz is loitering for sure.
Guy doesn't get enough... No, I'm fucking wet. He Sebastian Munios is as loitering for sure guy doesn't get enough
About him all seven back up the best player in the world
Get enough attention need to call him out. He was on my dog. He's a dog like he's a dog
It's all I'm saying loitering is someone you think has
We're picking the guys with the best chance to win here
All right, what success what's JT doing?
JT might not even be doing either.
He got it.
He's like one of those little high schoolers
that's hanging out at the fall.
He got grounded.
I think JT was found hot box in the car.
He got grounded for two months.
We're not gonna see him again.
Oh, JTMT awhile, man.
Yeah, dude, man, I'm grounded, man.
JT is super primed to Gory.
Gory's been grounded for a while.
To go Eagle Birdie on two and three coming out of the gate tomorrow.
Gory strikes me as someone who successfully shoplifted today.
You know what I mean?
Like he, multiple times.
Like he completely stole it.
He hit Pax on.
Yeah.
And then he's coming back to play, he's coming back to play a dining show
enough when he stole it.
And I was like, how'd you do that man?
What are you doing?
Pat, why don't you do that all the time?
P got pinched for shoplifting today.
Pat, what yeah?
P.
P.
Before we get to, I assume we want to talk a little bit of Rory here.
Yeah.
I want, TC's going to help me out with this.
We're going to talk a little bit about rain sunglasses here.
We were supposed to bring some to be wearing, but T.C.'s big on the
reins. I want you to tell me what do you love about the reins?
I've got the Remy's. T.C.'s the Rainman.
Yeah, the Rainman R.A.E.N.
There you go.
Rainman. I think I've got the Remy's, but incidentally my wife is too. She loves them.
She steals them from me all the time. I've got the tortoise shell ones with some kind
of amber lenses in them. I love them.
They're lightweight, durable.
Kind of that perfect sweet spot of like quality and value in sunglasses.
Having young kids, I don't want to spend a good $1,000,000 on sunglasses.
Because I know at some point, like Freddie's going to flush them down the toilet
or do something else with them.
I don't have young kids.
I don't want to spend a good billion dollars on sunglasses either, man. No one can keep track of sunglasses. That's right. You're looking for something. I don't have young kids. I don't want to spill a billion dollars on sunglasses either man.
No one can keep track of sunglasses.
That's right.
You're looking for something right in this price range.
Reigns handmade frames make all the difference.
They're super lightweight.
They're comfortable, versatile.
You can wear them anywhere.
Beaches, hikes, wherever you want to.
My age glasses.
It's no wonder GQ called Reign one of the best sunglasses for men in 2020.
Stars like John Hamm, James Hardin, and Wiz Khalifa,
all love rain.
The big three.
John, John and not the big,
how do we confuse from the wrong day?
The wrong day.
From November 22nd to November 30th,
you can take advantage of their holiday sale
and get 40% off sight-wide.
So you can do what we did
and you can get yourself a pair of rain sunglasses
at rain.com, R-E--N dot com slash N-L-U from 1122 to 1130 get 40% off site wide R-A-E-N dot com slash N-L-U
for 40% off from November 22nd to November 30th.
40% off.
That's enormous.
That's a sweepstakes.
Absolutely enormous.
So mark that one down.
You'll probably be asking for those dates in that site again.
So now, Rory, you guys wanna talk about Rory?
Absolutely.
The things we've seen from Rory this week
in no particular order, what do we got?
We got him fat chunking it into the pond on 16 yesterday.
So bad.
And then coming out and shooting 66, 67 to get
into his normal non-competitive T10.
With a bogey on 13 and shooting 66, 67 to get into his normal non-competitive T10.
With a bogey on 13 and a absolute,
a fatted shot into the pond on 15,
and he still made part of there.
I don't know, I don't really know what to make of it other than,
it's a bit like wildly disappointing a bit,
they are who we thought they were.
It's wildly disappointing.
Where do you shake out?
I find it wildly disappointing.
It's to go back to the shoplifting thing
you're talking about earlier,
it's like he's cutting class to do it.
And he's a great athlete.
It's like, you're gonna ruin your scholarship, man.
So, someone's doing, you're a blue chip recruit.
And what are you doing shoplifting?
Why are you doing that?
States looking at you.
You know, you got all these offer letters in.
CLA or P&M.
You're being a dumbass.
They can only look the other way so many times.
That's right, you're gonna end up with TPC dens on T-Bade.
And then, and then, and then,
we just see a verse of it.
And then, and then, and then, and then,
we're always gonna, and then, and then,
we're always gonna end up at Augusta State or Marshall or
something, or where is he,
where is he, where is he originally gonna go?
Like East Tennessee State or something like that?
They have got an Irish pie.
I know.
So anyway, that's why I didn't,
someone during the ad read said that, JT was in school suspension, which maybe, something like that? They have got an Irish pie. I know. So anyway, that's why I did. That's why I did.
Someone during the ad read said that JT was in school
suspension, which maybe, maybe a lot of free art,
before I had to get that out.
So what do you see from the mic?
I'm not as, of course upset,
but like at least the sign of life, you know,
makes me feel like something's still there.
And it is, you know, you can only do this so many times
before he starts to realize I would think that his attitude and whatever it's got to happen before the first round.
Some kind of adjustment of like, for one, I'm tired of him kind of pretending like he
doesn't care.
Like, we all know you care.
Everyone cares about it.
You know, he's kind of given the attitude of if it happens, it happens, if it doesn't,
it doesn't, like, no, dude, just go do it.
Just go.
I think back to what JP, Rest in Peace, JP Fitzgerald is old, Cady, said to him.
He's a big man, it's a heck.
2017 open at Berkteo.
He's kind of fucking around like he is right now
in the beginning and he just says to him,
like, what the fuck are you doing?
Like, you're very macaroni.
And from there on out, he started playing golf.
And like, I think he needs to just go out there
and with the attitude that that's who he is
and go take it by storm instead of like playing
like he's got something to lose
and I always feel like he's playing with something to lose.
Once he doesn't have something to lose,
this is what happens.
You're Jerry Muffuck and Gwire.
Yeah.
Well, he even said it in his post-round interview.
He was like, yeah, you know, I didn't warm up very long
for the last two rounds and I warmed up a ton
for the first one.
I only caught the end of that.
Was he saying like, yeah, I got there in like,
I didn't realize what my TZ was.
Yeah, he was late.
So he's like, yeah, maybe very relatable thing.
Very relatable thing.
Not warm up as much, you know?
Like perfect, perfect tweet I thought was Lou Brown
at Lou underscore tire world.
Shout out to all the boys in the tire world.
I'm about half kidding, but has Roy tried
just getting shit faced
and I before the first round of a major?
Like I don't think you,
I don't even think you need to be half kidding.
Yeah.
I don't, I don't work for him at the Ryder Cup that one year.
Exactly.
He should get, like, in somebody said, he should get Wade Boggs on his private show. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, case in Miller Lights, I think, on a cross-country flight. And somebody held up a sign at some event city
that he drank 64 beers on a cross-country flight,
and I became an urban legend,
but it's supposedly did down 30 of them on one of them.
God, that's cool.
These pro athletes, we either, they're just,
we need, Steve Moreno, Ernie Ls,
and Wade Boggs on an international flight.
Yes.
That's what we need.
I agree.
I think we've had two of the 300 international flights,
you know?
But yeah, I think, yeah, like's like, like he's just so,
he just seems like he's, like I feel like Rory's got a bunch
of fast twitch muscle, right?
And so when his timing gets a little bit off,
or he gets a little bit amped up,
a little bit pumped up for a round, it's just, you know,
it's like he's just gonna, he's gonna mess things up, right?
Yeah, it look, he has for one,
been absolutely sending it with the driver this week.
Augusta stats are weird, so it only measures two drives.
You can't really measure what,
total driving distance all that.
He's been like the longest in my,
every time I've looked up,
he is flying it past the bunkers that Bryson
has been supposedly flying it by,
and he's been actually been accurate with it.
It just looks like I'm not a swing expert,
but from the round one,
it just looks like he was throwing hands at it.
It wasn't really swinging with his body.
There wasn't a lot of rhythm to it.
It was just kind of like trying to guide it with his arms
more so than he was letting his body through it.
And it felt like he's kind of gotten out of that
the less he's talked about.
Sounds like playing defensively,
or playing not to mess up.
That swing on 16 was a complete joke
You just like totally his body just totally shut down on it and then well, yeah
He just started blacking out and making birdies and Eagles at every stop
I mean he had second best round of the day today and best round of the day yesterday
And he's not in the tournament. That's really really not doing any favors either
What was that Nike's not doing anything
That's fair when Nike's been doing anything favors either. That's fair.
When Nike's been pretty abhorrent across the board,
it's a tough line up there.
Who would buy this shit?
I don't know.
Dorks.
It's just huge dorks.
I mean, like the shirt that like the Brooks was wearing it
yesterday,
P was wearing it today with black.
He was wearing black with brown.
It was kind of a Kenny Winsh,
Shepherd adjacent.
A Jason, yeah.
Which brown on black.
Many people pointed out is the whole like desert storm vibe.
Is that somehow tied to like veterans day or something?
If it is, they were trying that they were going to do this
lever in a bunch of it.
But then they roll out all this purple too. So it's all over the map. You're like,
well, that's that is like the purple is as bright as the, you know, poop brown is muted.
It was a JJ Henry Bill Snyder collab. Guys, got a groundbreaking tweet that just came out.
All right. Be prepared for this. Please, please tell me it was used golf facts. This is from at Jack
Nicholas. Okay. Dustin Johnson proved why he's number one in the world. He pulled away from a very All right, be prepared for this. Please, please tell me it was used golf facts. This is from At Jack Nicholas, okay?
Dustin Johnson proved why he's number one in the world.
He pulled away from a very tight, tough at the Masters field
with a great round.
Give him credit where credit is due.
Dustin is now in the driver's seat.
Masters is his to win or lose.
If he just plays reasonably well, he's going to win.
There's the magic Johnson of golf tweets right there.
That's a, you know, don't look like there's any typos in that tweet, you know, safe.
Safe.
Do you think maybe single to left field right there?
Jack trying to up the volume of tweets to maybe drown out one particular tweet over
the last few months here.
Just bump that down his time.
That's a good way to put it.
He's posting a lot of just like, oh, all right, cool, man.
It's not like a fungal tape.
He does that a lot.
Who gives a shit what Jack thinks about very, anything?
Very, very much so.
Right.
Like, I don't care what he has to say about golf course architecture.
I don't care what he has to say about professional golf.
Like, he's just irrelevant to me.
That might have been a sponsored tweet for all we know based on who knows.
Probably by his self-lord.
To lab with Asher Golf.
I'll tell you Jack absolutely thinks that.
Well, that's the thing.
So I've got, I've got an interesting one for you
or a question for you guys, not even a question.
More of a statement.
How about the English guys just disappearing,
just up and vanishing, Casey, Fleetwoods down the list.
They didn't do anything, Justin Rurff.
Careful, nowhere to come after you.
You can go hard, Neil. They're all asleep.
I would just, I mean, listen,
I don't see a movement of 71 from Casey,
Fleetwood, 71, Rose.
Paul Casey's not been the six from Rose.
Yikes, the allergies must have flared up.
Paul Casey's not been the same ever since
Ronaldo reminded him of that 81 and last year's Masters.
He hasn't been the same since he changed his shirt.
It's all so true. Nike not doing been the same since he changed his shirt.
Yes, it's also true.
Nike not doing him any favors,
the five of friends.
He's Jason 75.
Who do we wanna listen?
You're doing a lot of disappointing people.
I was a big golfer.
Sure.
I mean, Justin Roach got 76 today.
Yeah, that's not good.
That's not good.
But also, I mean, I was,
oh, fucking chill out British people.
I was just joking that you guys were all asleep.
We're all awake, we're awake, we're all awake.
Relax.
Relax, you guys, if you guys make it so easy.
But, oh no, come at me, they didn't play good.
Yeah, yeah, come get your boys, come the way.
There's golf played outside of American Neil.
What do you mean?
That's what they say all the time.
Yeah, how does that matter in Augusta? That's just what they say all the time. Yeah. How does that matter in Augusta?
That's just what they say all the time.
And the green jackets would disagree with you.
I don't disagree with you.
I'm just telling you what they're gonna say.
Would you guys agree with me that they didn't show up today?
Of course.
Of course.
Okay, thank you.
Come at us.
I don't know who's gonna disagree with you.
The English guys are.
Tron, I want to ask you, we started,
so of course, last major of the year here.
We started this year a little hard on Tommy.
Like, hey, he's just, he's done this thing in the majors.
He just keeps getting in the realm of contention
and then just totally fading on the weekend.
He did that again.
You said you wanted to see a little bit more.
I wanted to see a little bit more.
I keep seeing the same thing, man.
I also had him rising today.
He, all right, his first, his first top 20 in a major, US Open 2017, solo second, US Open 2018.
Also did someone just call Louis British?
No, no, no, I didn't mean that.
I was just going down the list.
No, he's not sure.
I did.
But Danny Willach had 74, so take that one too.
You can have him. I will say, Tommy's making sure I did make it there. But Danny Willet shot 74, so take that one too. You can have him.
I will say, Tommy's had a solo top five.
He's had a solo fourth at the US Open in 2017.
Solo second at the US Open 2018.
Solo second at last year's UK British Open,
presented by her majesty, the Queen.
He's only 29.
He got a late start on his career.
Like he was toiling on the Asian tour for the, was it like the challenge tour?
The challenge tour, when in the Kazakhstan open stuff like that.
I watched Borat last night about it.
I am willing to give Tommy till the end of 2022.
That's so brave.
Is that fair?
Is that fair?
I just love how, how it varies person by person,
whether or not like the top finishes are
a positive or a negative.
It's like, oh yeah, hopefully, he's a great fit.
Yeah, for a few now, it's, oh, it's, it's an indictment.
I would say that he's like being out for a longer period of time.
Don't this week, if you guys would like to talk about that.
Tommy's only been playing full time in the States for like a year and a half, two years.
Yeah, I said, Finault's been long.
Right.
Yeah.
I mean, it's been, I mean, the majors all these time.
Thomas, is it whiffs of, of, uh, Richard Flower. I mean, I'm being the majors all these. Thomas, is it whiffs of
the Richard flower? I mean, people are, you know, that's interesting. It's starting to
be whiffs of that. No, no, no, no, no. I've been doing this for a crowd favorite. You're
talking. Tommy's not on every commercial. Well, that's true. That's a good point. Well,
we don't know. We haven't seen the commercials over across the pond and Ricky's one five the adverts Yeah, so I don't
I don't know I don't want to hear that I'm not saying that he is Richard flower. I don't even want to hear it with
Just a just a with of it. That's all all right, and I root for him. So there you go is like what you were there of speed
Miss the cut
Then just being like that was so sad when they showed him on the
finishing up on the solid.
I had a great point.
Like, it looked like they were showing him on the practice screen.
Yeah.
And I was like, come on, guys, it's already dead.
Leave him alone.
But it was, it was number nine.
No, I told DJ this yesterday.
I think speed needs to become Bobby Fisher.
That's the, the chill, the chill, the prodigy.
I need, he needs to disappear.
He needs to figure out what his exemption, like schedule is.
Like, can he stretch it to three years and just go away.
Like Anthony Kim just disappeared.
Talk about a guy who might need to get shit faced before around.
That might be the play for him.
Just go, just go take some time off, Jordan.
Go figure it out.
Go do something else.
That's what the pandemic was though.
That's what, that was the, like I, that's, I was trying to talk to myself into.
He had three months off, like he's going to come back and be better.
Like something's still fundamentally wrong.
I'm saying like take, instead of taking three months to work like he's gonna come back and be better, like something's still fundamentally wrong. I'm saying like take,
instead of taking three months to work on it,
take six months and don't play.
Cause he didn't look like he's having any fun.
He should go to one of those honor bonds, silent.
But even when he was playing really,
really, really good,
he was having a lot of treats.
Even when he was playing really, really well,
he didn't look like he was having any fun.
That's true.
Yeah, that's fair.
But I don't know, I just,
I think it'd be sweet if he was like,
man, remember that guy, Jordan Speeth?
I mean, it wouldn't take long for me to be like food back where where did speed go you could create this lore and then you could come back with
With some buzz. I think it would be good for him. It's listen. Let's not you know dance on it. Yeah, let's not
Restart time of the guy on speed
I'm talking about how he's the biggest run tomorrow because they're all right in a row rom mac a Roy or Rory
makes the biggest run tomorrow because they're all right in a row.
Ram, McElroy or Rory?
Those two of those guys are the same guy. Or sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry,
Ram, McElroy or Brooks, sorry.
Roy's going to do a little more damage, I think.
If I pick Roy, I'm going to fool me and stab myself in the leg tomorrow.
Like I'm so stupid.
Like, well, I'm going to hit myself like Ram did on 18.
I will say,
well, fool me 400 times,
you're not gonna fool me again, Rory.
Rory's bogey on 13 was so bad today.
That was horrible.
I'm gonna say,
laid off from like 2-13 or something like that.
I'm gonna say Ram,
I feel like Ram's the most consistent of the best.
I think Ram is,
I think he posts bail.
Yeah, you know,
you got picked up for looting,
but he's out,
and he had his phone call.
So can we at least acknowledge that when today started,
Bryson was was he too over par and he finished today minus three.
Plates, he played even par.
Yeah, it's a part of his seven for him though.
He played too good golf today.
That's all I'm going to say.
Okay, so you I think you tweeted something out that was like,
should he be should his process be criticized?
But it's like, you said no because it worked with the US open.
My thing was, like, should he be criticized for how he prepared for the masters?
And then the way I explained it.
All right, I think a very, very important distinction here is, people will not say this is part
of his process,
but it absolutely is.
Like being like so, so his process is one thing,
like putting himself statistically in all these positions
and like it's gonna,
he's improved his chances immensely
at winning one of these things.
It's, they're still hard to win,
but I will also say like he's not doing himself any favors
by pounding his chest all the time and saying he's the best goal for to ever live.
To win.
And like objectively, that's part of his process as well, right?
Yes, that's fair.
That being said, he was pounding his chest before the US open and won that one by six.
And I don't know if he's pumping himself up with all this.
Like I think he loves the attention.
I think he's feeding off of it.
I think he loves the attention. I think he's feeding off of it. I think he,
so there's a somewhat legit take.
You could just say like you should have never messed
with the 48 inch driver with how good you drove it at wing foot.
I can kind of get behind that,
but you could also say like last December,
be like, hey, you shouldn't chase any more distance man.
Like you're driving it really far as it is,
and you're playing pretty good.
Like don't chase it anymore.
And he chased it and added a ton and won a US Open and another tournament in the meantime.
He's going to, he's going to live by the gains and die by the gains.
I also think the gains like the ceiling was much higher for distance at Augusta.
And you know, I mean like the misses could be bigger and the distance gains were more
advantageous.
Well, I think the scary thing is a reason to risk it for testing that other one.
I think the scary thing is for Augusta,
like it's gonna set up a ton better for him in April
than it is now.
I would agree with that.
Right?
With it being further.
DJ doubled down last night.
Yeah, I still am picking him to win it.
He already picked him for April.
Yeah.
I think this is a still a fact finding mission for him
on how to compete on this golf course with his newfound length and style.
And if you think he's not going to take from this and change his approach into the next one in some way, you're a fucking idiot.
Like of course he is. He's going to do something.
Like you have to give this guy credit for how he has adapted and made so many changes in so many different ways over the years.
Remember how much he used to suck at putting and now he's figured out a way to putt and yeah he hasn't putt a grade this week,
but he's gonna do something between now and April
to figure out how to putt these greens.
He's gotta fix that tummy ache.
Can I make one very amateur golf analogy here?
Is when any of us have it going,
like the game feels very, very easy, right?
And you're hitting the middle of the green,
you're driving it in the fairway,
you're feeling great.
I almost felt like that was a little bit him at the US open to your point Sali like all the
chest beating all the he had a great fall or not a great fall great hashtag return to golf.
It was all working working working working working. And now I feel like he kind of got punched in the
face for the first time and this was like the first little bit of quote unquote adversity to where
it almost looked like it just rattled
his confidence.
Now he's making like a bitch.
Now he's making stupid mistakes.
So it's almost like you got to have, I don't know what it's like to be Bryson.
I don't know what it's like to hit it like he has been hitting it, but you got to be
really fucking confident to be able to swing that hard and pull it off, right?
And when a little bit of that confidence goes away, like that might be why we're seeing
what we're seeing this week.
But also he hasn't been swinging that hard this week.
His ball speeds have not been crazy.
His length has not been crazy.
He has really not sent it how we've seen him send it
at other golf courses.
And maybe that just comes in.
Yeah, it happens.
Even as much as you practice,
how many balls he hit leading up to it,
you can lose like a feel.
If you don't come in here with a feel,
you got a two-way miss call or something,
you're not going to be able to send send it so I think he's kind of
Bandating it around a little bit right now and
Kidneys are like like he's he can't digest all this protein. That's extremely fair
Like you're kind of feel good. I don't know. Well, yeah, they made like maybe shouldn't be drinking nine protein
That's I wasn't gonna make fun of me without feeling good for months and months and months though is what would be my only thing
Yeah, which is I add up, I would say.
It's probably an issue.
Like I'm not surprised that he doesn't feel very good
or needs blood work done.
As someone in the comments said,
he looks like he could use somebody right now.
That's what I was saying.
He needs to take a fucking shit.
You know what the way you say,
of course by April he's gonna keep changing,
he deserves credit for that.
I feel the same way.
I still feel like he's gonna hurt himself. I mean, he keeps chasing these swings. I feel like he's gonna rip a
ligament.
When he starts swinging, he's gonna blow up whenever they start their testing back up.
I don't know.
I don't want to get hurt. I mean, I don't want, again, I don't wish him to get hurt. I'm
just, it kind of defies the, uh, like common sense. He was so bad. The last 36 hours.
I mean, so bad.
He doesn't deal with adversity very well.
He looks like a spoiled kid.
So let's say he looks like Freddie,
but like blown up.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, ways body shape.
Don't talk about my son.
That's a pretty good take though.
He does kind of looks like Freddie.
He looks like just a giant kid.
Yeah, he looks like a big five year old.
Someone said he might have gout, which is.
Oh, God, that's such a good take out the French are they have gal. Oh my god
It and he loves scotch and shellfish. She loves those
He can deep in the organ meats. Oh, dude. He love it. Yeah, it's like they certain calcium
Yeah, and it'll crystallize
It's with swells up on the couch. Oh man, I can't move my guy the gout, I can't get the gout, that. It's his foot swells up,
he's like the size of a basketball.
Shout out to the franchise for Gout, man.
That's some good memories for us, not you.
Good lord.
All right, listen, we've talked about a lot of things.
We've covered a lot of ground.
Who's the biggest disappointment today?
Sanders, Shoffley.
No, that was yesterday.
No, today.
Today, he shot 71.
He was 73 yesterday.
He's disappointing.
He's not going to get in it.
No, I agree, but I think he was disappointing yesterday.
But, it was disappointing this morning at the end of round two.
So it was today for me.
Because I was like, oh, so remind me, he's like three off the lead.
And then he goes out and, you know, I think for me, it's gotta be raw.
He'll be raw himself.
Right, Ram comes out, shoots a,
just kind of gets into the car crashes,
like every three or four holes.
I would be willing to share the prize,
Ram and JT today.
I think JT is good.
I'm can't lay.
Yeah, can't lay up there.
And he goes with the top three, unequivocally.
Is it disappointing to see Roy play so well? Can I make that case? No. I think those are the top three, unequivocally. Is it disappointing to see Rory play so well?
Can I make that case?
No.
I think you can.
No, it's pain.
I'm gonna stop you from a bad take.
No, it's someone that picked him to win.
You're just like, man, why are you teasing us?
At some point, you're like, oh, it's just not gonna be this year.
Let's stop thinking about it.
It's like, oh, great, shot 66.
Well, we've been great if you showed up on Thursday.
I think that we, everyone in the media
loves just like going out of their way
for finding a new reason why it's gonna work
for Roy next time, and then I've recognized in that
before I say this.
I think having the next one five months away
might help them a little bit.
Like not a full year to think about it.
And kind of like a fresher feeling of like,
hey, once I got going there, I played good.
Like I found something and I don't have to wait
a fucking year to come back to do it.
He's also got new perspective too. Yeah, I I didn't even think about that a lot of perspective
You know what I want to I want to get a shot to the cat. Let's dump on Rose again
By the way, I'm gonna say
So let's just point that out again British people you sleep you had a way
You guys see that whole Twitter thing that was going around yesterday
It was like name someone who like looks like a cop, but isn't a cop? I wanted to say Johnson Rose.
He still might, you didn't say it though, because he's still legitimately my thing.
I think you could say for Telly's in that, in that camp too.
What are the British cops going?
Bobby.
Bobby's.
Bobby's.
I don't know if they're still called that if that was just in like the 1930s.
I'm sure we'll be hearing shortly.
Rose looks like a constable.
Yeah, for sure. I don't know. Rose looks like a constable.
Yeah, for sure. I don't know.
You can't have thrown me off my can't even.
Don't back to cat.
Cat?
I already peed him today.
And I was just so, like that was the right thing to do.
And it wasn't because of the bogey on 80.
It was just because he'd made seven powers in a row
and like he's getting lapt.
But the guy can barely, like he can't,
he can barely get the ball out of the hole.
Long day for the cat today.
Long day.
And I feel like I just wanna applaud him
for being out there, like the guy,
the guy can barely move.
But it's like dude, like why are you doing this to yourself?
I mean, this is only real tournament in the year.
It's the only one he really plays.
Like I don't, I think he could put,
that's what I'm saying.
That's what I'm saying. Like from Thursday, he should shut it down for nine months of the year and just play
like Bay Hill to warm up for this.
Masters, Memorial, US Open British Open.
I don't even think players.
I love players.
Of course it fits so well.
Players, he's played players.
He's the Iron Man. Players. I don't even think he should play T a player. It fits so well. Players, he's played players. He's the Iron Man.
Players, I don't even think he should play Tore anymore.
I would listen to that take.
Cold.
Not an easy walk.
Armor is bliss.
Yeah, I have a feeling he will next year.
Yeah, I would.
I probably should.
You know what I want to give shout out to you?
Can I give one?
Sure.
Kevin Nahl, average 2.17 Putsper, Putsper hole in round one.
1.39 in round two.
Holy shit.
Gotta figure it out.
Sorry, D2.
What was it, guys?
Just bad ball striking.
Who could say that?
He hit every green in round one, so I would say.
Oh, that's true.
Yeah.
I was gonna say Mike Weir, you know, we've shattered out
yesterday.
We keep waiting for that big blow up 82 or something.
71 today from Mike Weir, T36.
Grab his sack, got in the game. I was like, that was a hockey. Blow up 82 or something? 71 today from Mike wear T36. Good for him.
Grabbed his sack, gotten the game.
I was like, that was a hockey.
Yeah.
I want to give a shout out to DJ.
He hit 15 greens on Thursday, 16 greens on Friday,
16 greens today.
Is that good?
That's at 47 and 54.
It was a complete no hitter.
You know who got vaporized today?
Playing with the cat.
Ricky.
I mean, I know that's not,
I'm not dancing on any graves here
and I know he hasn't been doing it.
I don't even think we need to bring Ricky up.
He hasn't been playing well, but 75,
playing with the cat was not good.
I mean, Ricky's gonna start dropping out of the top.
Like, what's Ricky's world ranking at right now?
We're as like eighth among past champs, by the way.
That's why I don't know.
I mean, he started getting to some sketch comedy
in these commercials.
He might have a future in the...
Ricky's gone.
Ricky, since the beginning of 2020,
he's gone from 21st to 47th in the world ranking.
He's falling, he's falling quickly now.
He keeps falling.
He's gonna get down to in those
going to be with with George 60s, 70s
and he doesn't have the major.
Yeah, real quick.
Championship is is Ricky eligible for
gestures masters.
Did he win the last?
So so his last big win was the players
in 2015.
Well, he is in off of first 12 from last year's masters. win the last so so his last big win was the players in 2015.
Well, he is in off of first 12 from last year's masters.
Last year's tour championship, top 50 in the world ranking from last year and
top 50 during March.
So he need to stay in the top 50.
Oh, I see going.
Otherwise, or he'll have to win.
So 47.
So what else is coming up this year?
So he's he should be locked for April then.
No, they don't they don't do the lock till close till end of the year.
Close to the year. That's right. Okay. And the European tour always has a little
Five o'clock free crack giveaway at the end of the year.
D.P. World Championship. How do you about your mouth?
And there's no hero world championship this year either.
Exactly. So what's he gonna play? I don't know.
That's interesting.
Hmm.
Wow.
God, that would be.
Can we see an activation at RSM or my Acobur or something
like that?
He might not want to burn a start, either though.
Imagine I'll piss the, I'll say a certain German car company
might be, if their horse is not in the field.
Yeah, that's tough.
I mean, it might be looking for some other boy's
to spot for that week. Bernards are a horse. That's right. We know he's gonna be in the field. Yeah, that's tough. I mean, it might be looking for some other boys to sponsor that week.
Bernhards are horse.
That's right.
We know he's going to be in the field.
Yeah, we've got, so looking at the schedule from here on out, we've got, let's see.
We've got RSM, Maya Coba, and then that's it on the U.S.
I mean, you got the shark shootout or QB shootout out of Naples in December,
but that's not a world ranking event. So you've got two events really on PGA tour. Otherwise, he's going over
trying to plan Dubai.
He could get in the top 50 by next, whatever the week before the Masters next year.
Is that where they lock it? Or is it?
There's a second. Yeah. So interesting.
That is interesting. Yeah, we got WGC SZN coming up,
you know, in the early part of next year. So I think it's more than 50-50, the DJ wins tomorrow.
So I think we should not do is DJ going to close it tomorrow. The question is, do we have a new
scoring record for the Masters tomorrow? I would say on doubt. I mean, 69 or better for all the shit that Bryson deservedly got for the par 67 stuff.
Like it is a par 68 for Dustin as well. I'll put it this way. Dustin. Dustin has made two
Eagles this week and he's made two bogies. But that's that's kind of what I'm saying. That's wild. Yeah.
That's kind of what I'm saying. And it's like it's par 68 for Dustin, even if he's not playing great.
it's like it's par 68 for Dustin, even if he's not playing great.
You know, or par 70 maybe par 16 on or par 70 because eight's not eight's no gaming. You got to hit two good golf shots to get on the green and on eight.
You can get yourself in some I guess what I'm getting at is it's not like
there's, you know, there's certain par five's where it's like, okay, you got to
really fly this corner. You got to really take on this hazard
or you got to blah, blah, blah.
Like, you don't have to push it.
You're like, we saw it on 13, right?
Like, he, three would, like, six iron.
Three would, six iron in there to 13.
It's like, you don't have to push it to get home in two.
Yeah, four iron.
Okay, good stuff.
But after they, and they move the T's way left
on an already small T-box.
To bring that tree into play.
And they, and they loosen the tree up a little bit.
We're working to confirm this, but the tree?
It looked like two R.I. Yeah.
Oh, dude, the tree's confirmed, man.
I mean, today, did they actually put that word in there?
Well, I mean, all the T was back today
from where it was yesterday.
I got it.
So the tree could have been like that yesterday,
but it wouldn't have mattered.
So curious to see what they do with the tomorrow.
I think, I mean, anybody bold enough to say
that it's not over.
I mean, it's all that sounds like 50-50 is, I would say.
I would not say it's over.
I'm just saying it's more than 50-50 that he wins.
So I think it's a better question to say,
is he going to set the scoring record?
Which would be 19?
Yeah.
I think it's early in the world tomorrow.
No, it's 18.
Or so it's set the scoring record's 19. Yeah. I think it's early in the round tomorrow. No, it's 18 or so it's set to square
records 19.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Tie is 18.
Right.
If someone was able to get like a, you know, two or three
shots swing and the first, you know, five holes tomorrow
with them, like one of these guys either in or father Abraham.
Father Abraham was tested this afternoon.
Yeah.
Then I think it could be it.
Then I think DJ could get a little father Abraham was spreading
and seeing all over again. It could be kind of like the year. Then I think it could be it. Then I think DJ could get a little, while I hear him spreading his seat,
all over again,
I'm gonna say,
it could be kind of like the happening,
the trees start blowing in some weird way,
and he's like, oh, no, it's happening again,
and then the quicksand comes out.
But if he gets through the first nine,
I think it'll be all right.
DJ's winning percentage per data golf
is 73.7% right now.
He increased it by over 57%.
Today, that's a good deal.
Does that factor in past performance? Yeah, yeah. Okay.
It's like their model of. That's just where I struggle a little bit.
A factor in home. It does not have a home game. That's where I struggle a little bit with like DJs
one of PGA tour event. And I'm not saying that all PGA like that PGA tour events are equal to
majors. But the guy like he's one of PGA tour event every season for the last 20 some odd years, right?
When else had a season saying he knows how to close I said seasons you said the second time you said years
No, sorry, I said seasons the first time. Yeah, so so but I mean that's that's remarkable consistency and
It's not somebody that like I just think it's law of averages, right? It's just sample size
I kind of go back to I think we've been saying that for a long time and and it
Law of averages would say he should have more than one major exactly so it's like but size. I kind of go back to, I think we've been saying that for a long time and it, law of averages would say, he should have more than one major.
Exactly.
But like the sample size is getting bigger
and it should, like it should go up to,
well that's what I was gonna say is,
I'll go back to Harding Park
and remember like what we said that night after that pod,
which is like DJ did everything,
like he played a really nice round of golf at
Harding Park and got beat and like run down by Moracal.
I don't say that with he's starting with Kavia, the shot that he hit in there like on
10, like the one they dumped in the left bunker on 10 or 11, like that was not good.
That was one and he wasn't starting the day with a foreshot lead.
Yeah.
And he didn't have no offense to any of these people, but SungJM, A-B answer and Cam Smith and Dylan Fertelli chasing him down.
Sure. Like it's 70. What does it? 70 some percent feels right? Maybe even a little light,
but I mean, it's how do they split up the next pretty pretty well?
Next we got SungJ's 6% Cam Smith, 5% A-B answer, 5.1, Dylan Fertelli, 1.9, JT's 3.2.
So what's the ribs percentage?
The ribs percentage is 0.6%.
So you're telling me there's a chance.
If DJ blew it, it would be all top.
Epic theater.
Epic theater.
Oh my God.
That's going to be amazing.
Epic theater.
But again, I think you guys are like the last.
That was a firefly.
I think the last big spot that he had was,
was Oakmont, right?
Like, you can say, hardy part.
He was wearing Kawa like went and,
went and freaking won that thing.
Yeah, yeah.
But like, he had a solo lead going in there.
Sorry, yeah.
Was he up, he was up one?
Up I one shot.
More than one of Morakow and got, got run down.
He got run down.
But I think Shinnococchiata shot
2019 PGA had a shot. He's had he's had some shots since he since I mean, I think I'm willing to say that he he played the second hole today
That was the best hole played in the history of golf. Okay. All right. I think
I think we're good. I think we're good. We're good. We're good. We're good. Before we go. No, before we go.
Before we go, I do want to make sure to congratulate Tron on Drew Love taking the pole in Turkey
tomorrow. Congratulations. I hope it rains again. I think he's going to speak to people
getting run down. I can't fucking wait to see him get humiliated. So we're speaking of Lance stroll for an awesome.
Bad guys. He had the greatest qualifying run of his whole career.
And you're trying to try to get off.
I run in Formula One history today.
Yes.
You see it. It was wet.
It was a sweepstake.
So someone called him Eric Trump earlier today.
It was maybe laugh for the.
You guys are bad guys.
Eric Trump on the pole.
The only thing I wanna say about F1,
I don't know what's gonna happen tomorrow.
If Albon had any self respect,
he's starting in fourth,
ahead of Hamilton, ahead of Botos.
If he had any self respect, he'd spin out to start,
and he would block all those guys out
to give Max a clear chance to victory.
And buddy won't do it, Hill,
it's fucking finished like ninth. Do you guys know how many polls Max a clear chance to victory. And but he won't do it. He'll fucking finish like ninth.
He hasn't had many polls. Max has in his in his career, the golden boy. Max. I like Max for one, two, two, one more than
straw. But you stole that. Max is a killer. You would you would agree that a poll was like a third round lead.
Like I don't know. I don't know why that that's that is so strongly.
Without a third round leave.
Yeah, but the result is what happens to the next day.
Like Dustin Johnson's got a lot of polls in his career.
I'm excited, I don't know what the weather's gonna be at,
but I'm excited to see Hamilton race tomorrow.
Yeah, that's the thrill.
Yeah, it's like a reverse grid starts out.
That'll be fun.
I'd also big, big, big stuff going on over in the kingdom.
The ladies European tour, planning on the shores of the, I'd also big, big, big stuff going on over in the kingdom.
The ladies European tour,
planning on the shores of the breathtaking views
of the Red Sea, Lydia Hall, Christine Peterson,
tied at 10 under Georgia Hall, nine under chasing.
Well, I think we're all excited to see how it goes. Alright, let's go.
Let's cap it there.
That's about, you know, about an hour.
We'll shut it down.
Boy, it's always fun.
Thanks for tuning in.
Nailie, you want to go play some settlers in Catan?
I'm ready.
Alright, let's see.
See fairers edition.
God, DJ is going to get a second green jacket tomorrow.
We'll cover that bit tomorrow in the podcast.
Cheers! Cover that bit tomorrow on the podcast cheers
That's better than most
That is better than most. Better than most.
