Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Live from the Killhouse new brand new streaming platform
here.
If you are watching this live, I'm Sally Neal is here with me DJ Pai is running the ones
in two.
Hello folks.
Hello.
Hello. Happy to be here. And then we have somebody calling in from the West Coast
or the Western Midwest,
mountain time zone, something like that.
Big Randy is here.
Hello, Big Randy.
The cheers, gentlemen.
How are we?
Mr. Big, it's great to see you.
Hey, we're good.
Thank you.
God, we almost, you guys are muted.
We almost had, we almost nailed it.
You guys are muted.
Oh no, you should have muted.
No, we're coming through your,
we're coming through the board.
So we should be good.
So that's why we're here to thus,
so we didn't get any feedback.
There we go.
I'm gonna step ahead of you, bud.
We are good.
No laying up is brought to you by our friends
at Precision Pro Golf Guys.
I almost did it the other day.
Almost left the Precision Pro Golf Range Vinder
on the cart.
It's got a wonderful little magnetic thing
that sticks to the front of your cart.
Is there anything you use in your golf bag
more times than you use a rangefinder in a round?
Is there one?
Maybe in the golf ball.
No, you're not hitting the golf ball 40 times, probably.
And I'm also using different golf balls.
Sure, of course.
So this week, precision pro golf is celebrating
the 2021 Masters with $21 off their award-winning
rangefinder's coupon code Masters 21.
Everyone here uses the NX 9-slope, write that down.
It's got all the features, golfer's love, slope adjusted distances, pulse vibration,
the built-in magnet, as I mentioned it.
So not only is it a great range-finder that will help you find more confidence
in choosing the right club, but Precision Pro offers industry leading customer service, free shipping,
90-day money back guarantee, two-year warranty, and the only range fighter that comes with a lifetime battery replacements.
Add the NX9 slope to your golf bag, go to precisionprogolf.com, use coupon code Masters21
at checkout for $21 off our favorite range fighter, the NX9 slope.
Swing with confidence, hit more greens with precision progolf.
Just want to say that the lifetime batteries is very clutch.
It's clutch.
If you remember to put them in your bag,
which I very frequently do.
I just had to change one.
Congratulations.
There you have it.
Thank you.
Randy, you would be so proud TC took over for you
and you're stead that you're no longer here in Jax,
took a solid front nine nap today.
Missed Mark Leashman's four under on
the front, whatever that was, missed the whole thing woke up to just stressing out over
a lot of mispots after that.
It is, it's his birthday though.
I know.
He's a little worn out, you know, we had a little cookout last night, so he got, he had
to get it, he had to get a couple of sneaker couple of season.
Hold on, I got to adjust this in the background.
We got Wayne player in the background of this ceremonial shot here making sure we get some
Aboot. Make sure we sell few visors, you know, come on.
I totally hold my drink as I normally do. Just a serimmonial first live show here with our new platform
We had you know, we got to make sure we got the the goods in the background. Oh, we'll get to that. What a shitty way to start the day. No, it's tough.
in the background. Oh, we'll get to that. What a shitty way to start the day. That was tough.
Solid to your point. I was very proud of TC and of course happy birthday to him. It was great to see somebody, you know, combatose on that long couch that, that, you know, made me feel really
good. And I love the timing of it too after he declared essentially the tournament over I think after least birdied one.
He was in total control of the golf tournament.
Yeah, yeah, love that.
How much golf do you watch today big guy?
Oh my gosh, I watched so much golf.
I didn't even take a nap.
It must be this thin air.
I was locked in.
I kind of have a little bit of a of a of a makeshift setup right now.
My TV's just kind of on the floor, but I was tuned in early on the laptop and then
was had on ESPN all afternoon. It was a great day of golf, too, legitimately. I know
TC and I get a lot of shit for
getting after the setup, but today was a phenomenal first day. It was
a lot of fun. I thought the course played just right on that knife's edge, which was
very enjoyable. I don't know. Did you guys agree? Well, we've had a little bit of a discussion
over here. I feel like it's really fun to watch a gust of play more like a US open, you
know, with the scores and how fast things are moving. Sally, you seem to have a, you were stuck in the middle a little bit.
I want to be very careful how this, how I, how I say this because in general,
I love fast and firm. I, I crave fast and firm.
Yet I, I'm wondering why my reaction to this today is very much like a,
I don't know if, if this plays great at Augusta.
You know, I'm struggling with this, Randy, I'm not committed to this,
but I just feel a little bit like the way this course
is now designed to play, how long it plays,
and how much this is about carrying,
and getting to some of these greens,
and not having run up to some of these greens,
when it plays this firm with soft fairways and firm greens,
I don't wanna use the unfair word, nobody likes that word,
but it just seems like kind of like,
all right, man, you're not getting close to that pin on six.
Like that was like the back of 15 at Jack's Beach we said today.
That's a hyper local reference, but like very spot on for anybody
who does get it.
If you landed on top of that ridge, the ball's going over
and if you landed short, it's not climbing the ridge
and getting up at the pin on eight was just very much like
a very good shot.
It ended up in the same spot as like a very okay shot.
So I was kind of back and forth on how it all played.
I'm still trying to make sense of Justin Rose's round
that that was Ken Duke, you know, got blown out
to see on today.
That is one of the greatest rounds of golf.
I feel like I've ever seen.
You, when we were discussing this earlier,
you kind of sold me a little bit on, I was saying on,
you know, 15, like no one's making you go for it, but you guys are saying, well, that, you know, the layup
sucks there. The point being, if you have to make that carry and you can't hold that green
and it sucks to be behind that green, well, these guys can always lay up. Well, maybe they're
saying that layup sucks. I don't want to have a downhill wedge shot. So that's where your
argument makes a little bit of sense, but I got a real thrill out of watching these guys hit it and then the balls just roll in 20 feet down the other side
or rolling back.
It's just, I mean, maybe it's recency bias from November, but I'm just not used to that
of the Gustav.
I think what's most confusing to me, or confusing is not the right word.
I'm very interested to see how it goes is how the weak trends from here, because I think
a big point of our contention,
if you go back to our great US Open Blowout of 2020
where we argued all about the setup,
it was kind of that the idea should be,
that it starts here and it goes up to here
as far as difficulty for Sunday.
And solid your point, I totally agree with you
that I don't think that's gonna make
for the most exciting masters
if Saturday and Sunday are as difficult as today.
Now, that said, I thought today was awesome,
and it was a ton of fun to watch.
I'm just really curious to see where they go from here.
I think maybe with, go ahead, Randy, sorry.
No, sorry, I was just gonna say, DJ, I kind of had the same thought,
like, oh my gosh, how can they push this course any, any more than what a typical progression would be?
But it sounds like the weather, which is out of their hands, it's going to get very wet,
starting tomorrow afternoon evening, and then Saturday looks very wet.
So I think naturally it's going to kind of soften up a little bit.
So I think I, I don't know, this is purely a guess, but kudos to the staff
for having the greens as firm as possible today. So then they can take on more water and hopefully
at least have a little fire in them by Sunday. But I mean, come on, I put it in the water
today. Finally, finally, my guy burnt cheeseburger. That's all we wanted at US Open. I'll take
it out of masters.
Randy seems to be coming around on the weather
being out of their hands all of a sudden.
I feel like I was singing a very different tune
last September at Wingfoot if I remember right.
Well, no, we'll see.
We'll see.
We'll see how the forecast progresses,
but it does look bad for Saturday.
Randy, you would rather they take it to the edge
where uncomfortable happens and then pull it back.
Well, no, I want to take it to the edge and uncomfortable happens and then pull it back. Well, no, I want to take it to the edge and then, you know, swan dive off the edge.
But he's got to be careful because that's not what he said in sawgrass.
He's got to weave through his texture.
I just wanted to get it out there for the people.
I wanted to know where you stand, brother.
I was trying to entrap him as well.
I was thinking a lot about the sawgrass.
We're peeling back the onion, big Randy.
What I'm saying is I don't like legitimately,
I'm not sure they can keep progressing it,
because I think they saw the Saturday forecast
as being stormy all day.
And you know, just try to get at least one day
towing the line a little bit, which, you know, I'll take.
Let me ask you as this, do you have a problem
if there is like, you know, it's firm, it's fast,
it's difficult out there today tomorrow and then it's firm, it's fast, it's
It's difficult out there today tomorrow, and then it's a birdie banan's on like would you is that a problem at the inconsistency of the course?
I think if it's drastically different, it feels like a problem, right?
This is so weird and it's so hard to explain. I feel like but it can't it can't be wildly inconsistent from one day to the other
But I do feel like if they're you know softening up a hair or as you guys said, if mother nature softens it up for them,
I mean, that there's not much they can do about that.
But I like it to feel like the same golf course all week,
you know what I mean?
It shouldn't feel like a TPC on Saturday and Sunday.
I think, but there should be more birdies and eagles
and that's what makes Augusta so interesting, right?
No matter what happens at Augusta, no matter how it plays,
I hate the phrase, there's no faking around this place, but it rings very true.
Like the best players went out, right? There's not a situation related Augusta where average shots end up being very good.
You know, it's still thin margins you're playing without there.
And I think November was about as soft as we can see it.
And this is about as firm as we can see it.
And we're seeing two totally different ends of the spectrum.
And there was still a seven under out there today,
which is, which is why it was difficult,
but it wasn't that windy.
Okay, it could have been really, really difficult today.
The wind did not blow horrifically,
but a little bit when they were on the front,
yeah, the final group was on like three and four,
or four and five, I saw the flags blown pretty good.
So mediocre shots were rewarded today though.
I want to call out a couple,
Bryson's T-ball into 12,
coming out of the Azalea bush, complete crowning.
That needs to be called out.
And then spieth chip on 15.
Completely mediocre, hits the stick, goes in.
That was going in the hole.
That was it.
Hit the center of the flags.
That was worried about that.
That was bullshit.
We need to listen.
We need to talk about team rows.
We're already well into this live stream.
As I said, it's one of the best rounds that
what are the board saying?
What are the forms saying?
Yeah, I'm so glad you asked them.
There was a meltdown on the boards today.
The app stopped working after he birdied 15.
Just complete overload.
I don't know who's paying the server space over there.
So I just had, I was tweeting it.
I just had to go off the cheers.
I could hear the neighborhood from other members of team Rose as far as what he was doing. And,
you know, sure was a lot of cheers to go around today. He was just lying the union jack outside
just opening the windows. The curtains are blowing out the windows. Exactly. Yeah.
Who's, who's going to shoot 65 today? Rosie will do it. Rosie will do it. He doesn't care.
No, it was, it was an un, un unbelievable really like last 11 holes right he was what two over through seven
I think over through seven nine under into a 65
Is are you taking rose or the field right now the field? Yeah, God please the field I can't do a rose run away guys
I can't do it. I
Saw Justin Raids we did that only 20% of first round
leaders go on to win the Masters. Now, I granted more than less than 20% of them
start the round, you know, they start round two up four shots, but four shots
is nothing when there's 54 holes to play. There's a lot of golf to play. Not
saying he won't win, but there is a long, long, long ways to go. So, did we get
enough rows in? Could we talk about things we actually want to talk about now?
Yes, sure.
Randy, what are you burning on?
What's the most no worthy thing you saw today?
You know, I am really well, a couple of things,
and they go hand in hand a little bit.
Nance hit me with one of my favorite platitudes.
You can't win the tournament on Thursday,
but you can certainly lose it.
And I think that goes into a discussion, guys. I think it's a little preliminary. Usually
it's a Saturday discussion, but I want to know how far back is too far back because we
have Rose out there at 7 under. You know, how do you factor in that foreshot lead? Really,
I, you know, if you take him out of it, I think anything like 74, 75 was was pretty good
today, but I'm curious what you guys think. I'm with you big guy
I think three over I really think three over still kind of you know in I look like the cut line if it was today was in
I think t33 2 over is that a head pick or a heart pick and then
t 54 was three over you've got a couple of your horses down there that day. I got them in the
78 range with your head. I saw a good question roll in.
What was more surprising?
Seven under from from Justin Roser seven over from Cantlay.
Listen, who can say the beluga yikes.
But no, I do.
What do you think?
Two or three over.
I just love that, you know, in this time of need for you,
you struggled all year in your picks.
That in this time of need during the, you struggled all year in your picks, that in this time of need during the masters,
you turned to Mike Weir.
That's what was like,
was gonna get you out of the slow.
Wearsy baby, he's,
he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a,
he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a,
he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a,
he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a,
he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a,
he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a,
he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a,
he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a,
he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a,
he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a,
he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a,
he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a,
he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a,
he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a though, which would have been really interesting. Randy, to answer your question, three is definitely in this tournament still.
And two is sitting very pretty, I think.
I mean, I'm looking at how far back from second place you are, just with Rose with that big
of a lead.
Listen, he might go run away with it, but chances are that things are going to start leveling
out for him, right?
He's not going to maintain that birdie pace throughout.
So I just feel like, I mean, if this is Justin Rose of, you know, four or five, six years ago,
that we're talking about,
I think it's a totally different, totally different situation.
But like he's, you know, it's not his fault.
He's just, he's battling injuries.
He's been wildly inconsistent.
It's just, you know, this is a bit of a,
it's a different situation.
For the record, Lucas Ward just alerted me.
We're as plus six.
So just wanted to set the record. I appreciate just alerted me, we're as plus six, so just one of the, set the record.
I appreciate the, thank you Lucas.
We have just receiving word.
If you can confirm.
If you want to ask how far back is Lucas?
Thank you, plus six I think is too far back.
Yes.
It's probably too far back.
Next, can we go straight to speed?
Put that on a ticker, Deach.
Mike, we're as plus six.
I was already doing it.
Do we have to go, you know, mess around with all the guys
between spieth and rose?
Yeah, we don't want to.
It's a bunch of guys.
It's the the morning.
The guys in the morning got crowned a little bit, right?
Some guys went out and posted numbers.
Allotaurus went out first.
I think first round of the day gets in the clubhouse at minus two.
Reed, Reed was in the morning.
He came in bogey 18.
Um, God, he was pissed when he bogey at minus two. Reed was in the morning. He came in, bogey 18.
Um, got he was pissed when he bogey 18.
Minus two.
So it seemed like less, less
condities in the morning.
I want to give a shout out to Brian
Harman and and all the, all the
hitters at mega corp.
I mean, that was a, you know, that, I
was trying to talk myself into
that one coming into the week.
It was a very like, I don't know,
lefties, lefties play well.
Does that extend to even lefties who
don't really hit it very far? And it's, I don't know. I know play well. Does that extend to even lefties who don't really hit it very far?
And it's, I don't know.
I know the fairways aren't really running.
The fairways look pretty soft.
So I don't know if that's going to, you know,
if he's going to linger all week.
But that was fun to see.
He's been playing some good golf.
Fun to see different styles on the board always, right?
Yeah, for sure.
And I'd say, you know, Patrick Greed and Web Simpson are legit. I think we would we can't ignore those guys a great to see web web is a total dog.
Just sniffing around the tougher the conditions get. I'm all in on him. Love that too. Can't wait to watch them tomorrow afternoon.
Sean Martin tweeted out the first 15 groups, scoring average was 73.98 last 15 groups 75.02. So over a shot harder in that afternoon wave, which rose kind of screwed up groups scoring average was 73.98, last 15 groups, 75.02.
So over a shot harder in that afternoon wave,
which Rose kind of screwed up the scoring average of that.
One, and second takeaway, again,
if I can weasel another speed reference in there.
That one under round was noteworthy.
Almost every other round that was under par
was came from the earlier wave,
if I'm looking at that, right?
Who's the forgotten man?
It's gotta be Masi Yama, right?
Masi Yama, right?
Yeah.
Because there's no way that like with his putting,
he's just no way.
Like I think he should be the forgotten man.
Right?
But he hits it so freaking good.
Maybe if it's this difficult on the greens,
nobody's really making puts,
no one's gonna pour him in and go on crazy birdie runs that, you know, Motsi, I'm out last
everyone. I almost couldn't finish that sentence. It's not going to happen. But like if there's
a condition where it's going to happen, it's fast and firm. Some of it is in control.
Their golf ball like he is. That's what it's going to look like.
I guess that's how bubble one too. You know, remember when bubble first one, the masters
are like, there's no way you put it good, you know, well enough, but maybe.
Well, Matsuyama went off in the morning too. So he's, he's getting the, it depends on
the candidates tomorrow, who can say how about Will's all a tourist, by the way, shot 200.
He got it to 300 at one point. I think he bogeyed 16 as soon as it got it to 300,
he got 15. His first putt on number one, he had like maybe 10 feet for birdie, left
it almost like two feet short.
Like, yeah, I don't know if he chunked it or what, but he was like, oh, this is my first hole playing the master's.
I'm quite nervous. He had a good laugh about it. I actually really enjoyed watching that.
It was like, okay, you should be nervous. I want to see that. I'm tired of seeing guys
roll off and you know, just do things incredibly in their rookie season or whatever it is.
He's not even, he's a corn fairy tour member. He's not even a PGA tour member,
which is fucking banana.
It's insane.
He's not a PGA tour member.
He's like, we've been one of the best players
on the PGA tour in the last four months.
What, so he's got conditional status?
Special temporary.
Special temporary.
So I mean, he's super double.
He's in the world.
Double secrets status.
He's a double secret probation.
He's on right now.
That's a topical reference.
1971.
I believe the reference from the Chris Vernon show today,
we have the alphabet name, Christiane Pizzadino,
is up there at 200 bar, which that was a really good,
that one got me pretty good, the alphabet name today.
But yeah, and that brings us to the guys at minus one.
Guys, before we get there, before we do, can I mention something to you, Randy? You guys have been talking about these guys on the trap job.
We're going to talk about them again right here.
Wine access, our friends at wineaccess.com, slash NLU.
We'll offer you 15% off your first three purchases.
It is the now the official partner of the Michelin Guide,
the April wine of the month, they like you to know
is the 2017 Chateau St. John,
nope, not gonna do the rest of that, it's complicated.
The Michelin Guide.
The Michelin Guide.
But so you gotta go to wineaccess.com slash
and you and go see TC has actually gone
in handcraft, hand selected wines on this website. That's right.
Inquiry.
He could be here tonight.
He's out in the vineyards.
T.C. put a lot of work into this.
Yes.
I've gone downstairs a couple of times a week.
I'm picking out wines.
For what?
For the wine access page.
What are you talking about?
It's awesome.
He's got a California trio that you can buy on the website.
So again, go to wineaccess.com slash NLU.
You get 15% off your first three purchases.
The world's best wines, they're made in limited quantities.
Finding them is the hard part and that is what wineaccess does.
The barrier to the world's best wine isn't price,
it's access, that line sticks with me.
That's what they do for you.
So wineaccess.com slash NLU, 15% off your first three purchases.
TC's has shared me with some funky juice.
So there you have it.
It's high quality. There you have it.
It's high quality shit.
High quality shit we're talking about here.
From T.C.
First shirt.
All right, who else we want to talk about?
Who else is on the list?
Are we going to talk about the guys that are dead?
Or you want to go,
I think we should absolutely.
We didn't even talk,
Steve, come on.
Why were you saving that for the whole,
like, rambling last 45 minutes of the show?
But yeah, I'm down.
Who says we can't do that?
I was convinced coming in that he was gonna win.
I'm even more convinced now.
I know he's what, six shots back.
I mean, apart from admittedly a couple tough swings,
total control, absolutely total control.
You know, bad drive on nine, that causes a couple.
The one going in the water on 15 would have been about
a three shot, four shot swing, but you know what?
It didn't, it went in, and you take the good breaks
with the bat.
So other than drive on nine, drive on 13 was bad,
up to the right, any other squirrely T-shots?
Well, squirrely course management in that he has the same
philosophy I have from the trees, which is aiming at that tree,
swing really hard, no way you hit it.
The problem is he's a professional golfer
and does hit the trees somewhat frequently.
I swear to God, that was his mindset on 13.
He's like, I'm just gonna hit it that tree
and hope to get lucky.
And then look back at Greller,
like do you sign off on this and Greller's internally
gotta be like, no fucking way.
Do I sign off on this?
But what say do I have here?
Got lucky there.
The chip, what did Daddy say that the trailer said
that saving three or four shots, that chip going in?
We might be seeing a very different tune
if that ball doesn't hit the hole, but thank you.
But it did, deserves to be called out.
It always does, it's very speedy.
It is a crowning though.
It's a bit of a crowning. Well, I want to say, you know, I'm DJ. I'm with you. I'm all aboard the Speedwagon.
I just can't help.
There's that that history of nobody who's made a triple bogey has ever gone on to win the Masters.
Was it a triple bogey or was it an eight? I saw you tweet and I saw you hitting up the research department about this today.
Both somebody who's made an eight? I saw you tweet and I saw you hitting up the research department about this today. Both. So nobody who's made an eight or and nobody who's made a triple has
ever gone on to win the Masters. Can you think of a can you think of a better person to break
that curse? Exactly. Uh, Mikkelson gave it a run in 2012. He made not one but two triples
and missed a playoff by two shots, which is very fill of them. Yeah, but you can point to anything that could
have been anything. So I mean, what a perfect guy to break that
the jinx than than speed. You know what I have to shot at the
rubber dirt? You know what I've just say to that? Remember,
what people about the cat were like, Oh, he's never come from
behind to win the master's like, Oh, yeah, well, the guy also
pretty much rose from the dead with a with a back surgery fusion or whatever and came back to playing golf again and then won for behind.
Sometimes things changed. Records are meant to be broken, Randy.
Hey, I'm nobody. Nobody would like that more than me. And also Victor Hofflin's got to
look at it. But, no, I texted DJ. I think I was right before, I think it was after his
birdie on eight right before the triple
I was like this time it's like they may as well. Let's let's shut this down
Which I thought was cool that he made the triple just to to you know kind of save the ratings otherwise it would have gotten
Stay would have been a snoozer would have been over
If he's within two of Justin Rose, you know after this final round. It's totally over
He's got that look man. He's got that look, man. He's got that look. Something's different.
You can just tell, it's exciting right now.
Potting wasn't, didn't seem great today.
Just very anecdotally.
I don't know what the numbers say,
but there were a couple of squeakers
that were not super confident,
but it got to just look so crispy out there.
That was, that looked really, really,
really difficult this afternoon.
Isn't that fun? That's great. That was awesome. That, really difficult this afternoon. Isn't that fun?
That's great.
Oh, that was awesome.
Yeah, it's a little taxing.
Very taxing.
It's a major.
Well, DG had a question for us downstairs.
He said, do you guys think I could bring a hundred
from the, from the tipies, you know?
Today, if I went, if you went out and teed off at noon
today on Edagusta, I said, yeah,
because when we kind of went through the math,
you got to what shoot nine under for Boe golf.
Right.
Did the answer really just get penniless?
Double Boe golf, sorry.
Sorry, Andrew Streck, I can't tell if you're messing with us
or not, did the answer really get pennilized?
Because I totally saw him ground his club in the bunker
while we were watching it.
Saw it, I was watching it.
It's morning.
I didn't want to be phoned it in, dude,
but I saw it as soon as it happened.
And yeah, it sounds like the comments are rolling in,
throw it across the ticker, Dege.
Honest Abe, maybe not so honest.
Literally just getting word from Cody
that honest Abe was obsessed to two stroke penalty.
So I, I, I, I, ah, God, they're gonna get,
I knew that was gonna happen.
It was very obvious.
He took the club back and scraped San on its way back.
And then he blasted in the bunker.
Yeah, and I thought he looked upset and I thought he was gonna say, like I hit the San on the way back and scraped San on its way back. And then he blasted in the bunker. Yeah, and I thought he looked upset
and I thought he was gonna say,
like I hit the San on the way back and he didn't.
He probably could feel it.
He looked like he was a little shook though.
But he also had just dumped one in the bunker.
Man, that's a tough one.
Breaking, breaking, penalized.
Never told a lie.
I hate that.
I hate that too.
Can we, a couple guys worth mentioning here as well,
that very quietly, and quietly just means that the television
coverage dropped the ball on covering you.
Sandor Shoffley, even par.
Sitting right there at even par.
Well, he was playing with Rory.
So he's kind of maybe got caught up in the funeral
possession.
You know, they had to stop traffic.
So Shoffley was kind of sitting at the stop light there as the...
Come on, what?
As the person was going by, they had the motorcade.
Okay, it's okay.
They had to...
Yeah, he said, you know, I understand, we got to show our respect.
But yeah, I mean, he played, he actually played pretty solid.
Anything you want to say about Rory Randy? You know, I think a lot of people are
Coming to the conclusion that you know, he's there's not a lot of spirit left in there
I think the spirit has has left that that body right now. Randy. Did you pick Roy to win?
I took a fly around
Lazarus you made a Lazarus bet
Maybe he just says the season. It's the Easter season. We're at a cost right? that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that you in fact did violate the uh... the the not to win pick before the masters last
year you through in dj all you he's for sure not going to win and you didn't come
forth and claim
you know that you that you had failed
i honestly guys i've i thought so many names i can keep track of them
and that's fair that's fair i understand that you know if i did if i did
and i'm not saying i did but if i did did say DJ before November's masters, I apologize to everybody
Well, I except for picking him
Not for him winning, not for picking him for not realizing. Yeah
Big golfer
Big golfer that was about the worst I've ever seen Bryson play golf. That was horrible
Is he using a mini driver? It did not look like a full-size driver either
He got bigger as a driver
I think
last last year when he had like overwork like viral meningitis or whatever. He's frontal
lobes were overworked. I think he played what he said. He probably thinks he played
worse last masters, but it doesn't. Augusta doesn't seem to be fitting his eye. My lobes
kept shutting off. Can I get someone to chime in? Is he on the range right now? Can we
confirm other lights out there? Like what's going on with Bry in? Is he on the range right now? Like can we confirm are there lights out there?
Like what's going on with Bryson?
This might be the one place where he's not allowed
to tell the range attendance when they're allowed to go home.
I don't know man.
It's not great.
Augusta is just watching both Rory and Bryson play
Augusta right now.
Uncomfortable is the word that comes to mind.
It just nothing seems to flow right for them.
And I've been a big, I've set a lot on the length
that's gonna play to Bryson's advantage at a gust.
I've said that a lot.
And I'm not sure I believe that.
I think I was pretty much wrong on that.
It just doesn't seem that he's got the ability
to get it to land and stop in the right spots.
Going around the corner on 13 13 doesn't seem to work.
He drove it way offline on two.
Had a great drive on three, but like one, he pulled it way left as well.
It just doesn't fit.
It just doesn't seem like the distance he wants to carry it that course sets up very
well for balls to land in that area.
Do you think it was, was it the driver?
I know the driver was bad, but like, was it the mini driver?
The mini driver or was it the iron plate?
Cause the iron plate seemed like it was mega uncalibrated,
you know, like it just seemed like he was way off
on everything and missing in all the wrong spots
and it was just so sloppy.
And so obviously maybe that's a product of him
putting himself in bad spots off the tee
and it all kind of works together, but...
Aspots.
It was, it was asked throughout the bag, honestly.
It was not good.
I have a question for Neil.
What is it like to watch a round of golf
where somebody goes long left on repeat?
It's a bit frustrating, especially when someone's doing
that for a living.
Neil's like in the movie theater.
No, don't hit that club.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
I'm just playing the hits for people.
You know, like, you gotta play the hits.
That's why I go long.
Bryson, he's not trying to do that.
So it's terrible.
Was he good mad at Tim about some of these clubs going,
you know, Boston?
Looked like on 12, he did.
He was like,
he's like, that's 15 yards.
15 yards?
He looked like he looked like someone taking his food back.
Like, I said gluten free.
Did you, didn't you hear me, Tim? Did you hear me take this away? He's gonna ask to see Tim's manager here
Soon enough
I don't know his by language was you know as someone who knows what what the the hang dog look is like
Bryce now the hang dog going would you agree Randy?
Yeah, he looks so out of sorts. It was a little jarring. And just listen to
you guys talk. I'm wondering, is he too? I don't say this, this is very half-baked. And
I don't say it flippantly. But is he too scientific and rigid for a course like I guess,
though? Right? Like when's the last master's champion that hasn't been able to play with some of that artistic flair in imagination.
He's the artist. I just don't, he just looks so uncomfortable to me around Augusta.
Maybe it's just coincidence, you know, he just hasn't played well, but something definitely
seems off. Well, some of it is the really deep cup, Movedick reference in the comments,
which I just get because I just finished the book. Move on. I was going to say like it's almost like Well, some of it is the, really, a, really, a, really, a, really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really, a,
really,
really, a, really, a, really, a, really, a, really they played it what, 85 years? And it's like, no one's ever done that before for a reason.
Like, he's trying to find the new answer, the new angle,
or the shortcut.
And it's like, no, that doesn't work.
Someone else may have tried it already.
And it's just not that ain't it.
What's interesting.
So it was can't lay.
And I think Zander both said very similar comments
in their pre-turned press conferences about the golf course.
And I had this kind of on my list
as just like week-long macro notes. And I do think kind of on my list is just like week long macro notes
and I do think it applies to Bryce and two where
they were both talking about,
I mean, they're both such good iron players
and they were both talking about how, you know,
Augusta is this place that is so well known.
Everybody knows, every hole, everybody knows all these,
oh my gosh, you have to be below the hole here
and you have to be able to hit this shot
and it just becomes this like boogie man of like,
you know, I need to change my game to fit the course
rather than just taking my game to the course
and they both struggle with that a ton.
And instead of just showing up and saying,
no, let me just do the same thing.
I do on every other golf course.
They're trying to do all these different things
and it just puts them into this like weird headspace
and I almost feel like Bryson was very similar in that it was like, okay, I know, I know the golf course so well,
I've watched all the replays, I know all these different things,
and I'm going to, this is exactly how I'm going to do it.
And then he almost like tries too hard, and it just,
it's this game plan that totally doesn't make sense,
instead of just doing what he kind of does everywhere else.
You know what I mean? I don't know if I'm grasping
at something there or assigning meaning to something that's not there
But I was thinking about that a lot a lot today
Only thing I'll say is we it's been five rounds of new Bryson right at Augusta right and we we truly haven't seen him on yet
It's not like he's close and that kind of what I'm saying. Yeah, it's been so like uncomfortable. Yeah outlier
Just horribleness. It's not it's not, if Bryson brings his A game to Augusta,
it's not like that's not gonna work there.
You know what I mean?
He's gonna put up a good number.
It's just, is this a golf course that's gonna introduce
more discomfort to him more frequently than Bay Hill does
or other PGA tour golf courses, probably?
Well, what about the lack of long rough,
where his length gives him a wedge where other guys are
hitting eight iron.
Like there just isn't that, that issue.
It's almost, it's allowing the field to catch up and maybe pass him because he's missing
it big.
He's missing it way right like on 11 and, you know, it's, I don't know, I think there might
be something to that, right?
A gust does not the type of wing foot like course, but the fairways are so narrow that everyone's
going to miss them regardless of how far you hit it and he's got a huge advantage because Right. Augusta's not the type of wing foot like course, but the fairways are so narrow that everyone's gonna miss
them regardless of how far you hit it.
And he's got a huge advantage because he's way down there.
Yeah.
Crankin' nine irons out of thick rough.
You're exactly right.
He loses a little bit that advantage of,
you know, like the Beth Page Black 2019 setup
that is not Augusta at all.
So you're exactly right on that point.
I'm way on board with that take.
How about you Neil, look at you.
Listen man, you know, blind squirrel. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey at you listen man, you know, blind squirrel. Hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey, I've got to take baby. Let's go. They're an air horn in this in this new platform.
It reminds me a little bit of for anybody that watched the tourist sauce out at silly valley,
right? Like the type of course, I'm just thinking like Bernhard Longer has outplayed Bryson now the last few rounds. I think he tied Ian Wuznum today.
Ian Wuznum tied Bryson today. Yeah. And it's just like, yo, you can get away with not
striking the ball that great. But if you if you understand how the ball is going to
react once it's on the ground and you position position yourself around there, I'm totally
with you guys that it's just not that that's not New Brice and's game.
He looks to overpower, he hits it high, it's along,
and that's not necessarily what you need at a gust of,
you know, per se.
You need a little bit of imagination
and that Bubba, Phil, Tiger, DJ, you know,
like that flare with it.
And I just don't see that from him.
Hmm. You also need, I mean, if we're talking to Sylvie, Tiger, DJ, that flare with it. I just don't see that from them.
You also need, I mean, if we're talking to Sylvie's, you need to be able to chip your tits off of the hybrid.
Like Randy.
Of course, of course.
I don't think Bryson has that in the bag.
We haven't talked much read.
Read's an issue.
Read is, the threat level is orange, I think, right now.
Of course.
You played it really nice round before?
Really well.
And I think the T-shot off 18 hit it just a beautiful fade,
which is alarming.
He doesn't have to do the helicopter thing anymore.
I know it looks like he's doing it right.
It's just,
T-Tire, I was watching Reed highlights.
I forgot the audio goes through everything.
Oh, come on, man.
Oh, did I read, I was watching Reed highlights.
Said no one ever.
Randy, what did you think of Pete?
Sorry I ruined your guys' train of thought.
Yeah, John, the whole thing comes to a just stand still now.
What, I think sorry, Solid.
I don't really have a question, everybody.
I'm so thrown off by DJ here, but I'm especially...
What's producing?
He's over there watching Highlight.
Let me get this.
Would you think you could be be reading a fight or no?
Gosh there's no way by the way now probably not he's a big bear. He fights dirty
Well, how many more golfers you want to talk about because I feel like we just totally glossed over the ceremonial
T-shots and what happened this morning? We can do that. I mean, I'm very ready to get in on that.
It was, like, truly what a start to the day.
Like, everybody was pissed off.
It was gottening season out and out on the Twitter streets.
I just want to say that Wayne, like Wayne player and that whole act was so
Disgusting. I hope I hope what happened what for people that didn't catch it for some in some for some people who don't for some reason live on Twitter
Yeah, all day every day. What happened?
So Lee Elder has been invited to be a ceremonial starter at Augusta
He was the first African-American to play at the Masters. I believe in 1975,
which is wild to, you know, to think that's pretty recent, like almost when I was born. And
so finally, you know, recognizing his contributions, you know, truly a moment that I think is
about Lee Elder today.
truly a moment that I think is about Lee Elder today.
Jack Nicholas, Gary Player, and I will say, and has been about Lee Elder for months and months
since they announced this, right?
Like this is all leading up.
It's not like this just came out of nowhere
and he just happened to show up on the first tee.
I mean, this has been planned like this
for months and months and months.
It's so obvious that this was about Lee Elder this morning.
Of course, so you get to the first tee, Jack and Gary are there and Lee Elder is there.
And right behind Lee Elder, like just in the frame of the TV is Gary Player's son Wayne
who's done time, which is just I didn't relevant your other. I like. I still hear
Lee figure out what that time was for, but we could go there later Well anyway, and he's just hold on I think leave of golf balls
Awkwardly, you know like you can you can tell he's trying to place it so the cameras will pick up the brand and
It just was
You know, it's easy to just kind of make fun of him
But the more you kind of think about the mindset that it takes to
To do that In this moment specifically this morning
It just is very like tacky doesn't even begin to describe it it
very very speaks negatively on
Wayne and and I think it it reflects horribly on Gary player as well
I have to imagine some folks with green jackets
have had some stern words with them.
Why was he out there to begin with?
Like, why is that Gary Player,
who Gary Player wants to take out?
I know it's his son, but like,
he's got other children and I can't just...
I just got troubled like, scalbin tickets too, didn't I?
Like selling fake tickets or something like that.
I mean, like a not good,
and you're the ceremonial caddy on the first tee,
and you've defrauded the masters in somewhat,
sorry, somebody just said it in the comment
what he had done originally,
but like that's who you want up there,
and so yeah, he's holding up the box of ball,
the thing of balls, like making sure it gets in the shot.
It's so tacky.
And then like the,
I'm not even gonna say the name of the company, they go and making sure it gets in the shot. It's so tacky. And then like the, I'm not even saying the name of the company,
they go and retweet a bunch of the images of like,
look at blah, blah, blah, blah,
on the first tee at Augusta National.
And then they issue some bullshit statement that was like,
you know, we did not ask them to do that, blah, blah, blah,
and undid the retweets never acknowledge
that they were like sharing the guerrilla marketing images.
One, I'm disappointed that Nio has never pulled off
a guerr gorilla marketing move.
Like that.
It's a cautionary tale for any
aspiring ambush marketers.
I feel like a little bit like the Muppet meme,
but God.
Who would do something like that?
No, there's just a little bit.
Randy, you're right about the moment.
It's like that you just off limits.
Don't go there.
I don't.
Man, it was, yeah, it was really frustrating. Really, really frustrating this morning. You just off limits. Don't go there. I don't, man.
It was, yeah, it was really frustrating.
Really, really frustrating this morning,
especially for a moment that Augusta is so,
I don't know if repressed is the word,
but they've got their head in the sand on so much
and it's so obvious and they've done a lot of good stuff
on, you know, with pain college and with the leelder thing
and they're with the anwa and they're doing a lot of things to write a lot of, you know, very old wrongs. And
just to take that opportunity and turn it into truly like one of the most, I mean, tacky,
like you said, like just cheap, classless, like your ad here, moments right over Lee Elder's shoulder
was fucking disgusting.
It was gross.
To the point where, like, I didn't want to say this on Twitter
because it turns into like, cancel stuff.
But seriously, like I would, if I was them,
like I wouldn't be shocked if they don't ask him back.
To do that.
But to do that, at least.
Gary, we're good in 2022.
Yeah.
I'd be stunned if they did that and just
call more attention to it.
But I think, I mean, I don't think
you should be there, I mean, whatever.
I'm sure.
I would guess you would have a different caddy,
because how they'll probably solve the.
I would hope that's how they'll solve the problem,
because it'd be a lot quieter.
Yeah.
Not good.
So it just, and we don't have to spend time here,
but just thinking about Gary Player's own history
with some race stuff.
It's like, man, not any claim.
It was his idea.
He said he called Jaime Diaz and Jaime Diaz
called Fred Ridley and said you should do this about Lee Elder
and that's why they did it.
Cause Gary Player came up with the idea.
I heard that on ESPN or Golf Channel this week.
Gery legitimately claimed this was his idea.
His idea.
Or Jaime Diaz called Gary.
Sorry, that was the order.
Jaime Diaz's idea, but Gary's the one that called Ridley and got it pushed through, which
you know, thank you for your service, Mr. Pilar.
It's really.
I want to give a shout out to whoever the guy was on Twitter that said, Wayne knows a lot
more about the slamer than the squire. That was the tweet I heard all day. I think it was Evan Aiken's. Yeah, that was really really good very very good tweet. All right, so
Back back to the leaderboard. Okay. What do you think somebody up there? Who's gonna fade and who do you think's gonna climb?
Now let you take that from whatever you want like whatever region of the leaderboard
Fade what do you like you like that question, Randy?
I love it.
Neil Luleen.
Hell yes.
Bulls and bear.
You see me, you see me hitting the gears,
getting the tires transition and out of that.
Come on, baby.
Let's get it.
Let's, let's, as they say, let's stick to golf.
I always had an opening bill, just trading some stocks here.
That's right.
Come on.
I think Shoffley is going to become, he's going to be, he's going to be rising.
Shoffley is going to be rising. Yes, come on. I think Shoffley's gonna be rising.
Shoffley is gonna be rising, yes.
I do, and I think Bizzadenhout is gonna be trickling down the leaderboard some.
I like them to trade spots within a day.
I want to be very, very clear that I do not think he's gonna win.
I don't think he's gonna contend.
I don't think he's ever gonna be serious, but I think Fina is going to rise.
To rise?
I mean, this golf course sets up well for him, right? I mean, it's, it hits along.
He's a great iron player.
It's firm and fast.
It's proper golf.
He does tend to play well on these types of courses.
Ah, feel like you're describing a really good golfer
over there.
He is good.
I don't think he's gonna win.
He's very good.
Randy, who you got?
I, you know, I look at that plus two group.
I would take so many guys in that group.
But the guy I think is gonna have a big Friday is Justin Thomas.
He was one of my picks at the beginning of the week to play well.
He scuffled a bit on the front nine, but looks like he got it under control at a
bogey free back nine.
I'll take, I'm buying him and then selling.
I think, you know, pretty easy to identify
like Chadecki, he's going to start fading.
And Lord please let Rose fate.
That's just, guys, I can't do a wired wire rose victory.
I just can't, I can't do it.
He's minus 200 for a top five right now.
That's roses.
Yeah.
I mean, like, he probably will, but like he is,
I don't know, that's some, I've got a lulled T-Rail Hatten.
I think he was, he was not,
because you'd like to say Lord Zero Hat,
that's a good idea.
That's what I'm gonna get.
No, but I think he was kind of a microwave man a little bit.
Like when he's got it, when he's got it cooking
in the right direction, like all the passion
and opus day energy is like, it's good
and he kind of builds on it.
It felt like he, he had a good back nine today.
So I think he's gonna have a big day tomorrow
as it might as one with speed right now.
I know Matt Siam is probably the easy fade.
I don't, I wonder about Harmon, DJ.
I don't, I wonder if MegaCorp can stay together
if they're gonna get, you know, a monopoly.
They might get broken up. They got to get broken get, you know, a monopoly. Am I broken up?
They got to get broken up.
You know, are they too big to fail?
I don't know.
You know, Harmon's not, but we'll see if he can keep up his pace.
He's playing in the after-do in the Marl.
I wonder if, I don't think Zalatoris is gonna fade
because he's been playing so well.
I don't know if he's gonna win,
but I really am hoping that he does and I I would love to see him under the gun because he
hits it so good. People probably don't know very much about him and he's he's fun to watch.
So I hope he sticks around. The odd sheet is very interesting right now. It's got rose
at plus 300 to win. So three to one to win right now. Speed is the second favorite on
the board on draft Kings plus 800. Matsuyama's third at plus 1200 ROM is also third
at plus 1200 type of read as well plus 12.
Factoring in that newfound perspective.
Of course, yeah.
You guys hear he's kept his baby's dad.
He's right now.
Baby girl, Capca, I think is what you make your fidget said
about his baby.
Like three minutes later, you like came back and correct it.
It's like, oh, sorry, the baby boy is But maybe boy is Kepa, which I also want to shout out,
we make fun of him a lot.
Co-CRACK minus one.
He's played pretty proper golf, man.
He's turned into a sneaky good player.
He might make a little charge this weekend.
Is he bluffing?
He got it.
I don't know.
I don't know.
We got it to see on the river.
Ah!
How many cards does he have? He's trying to muscle the pot right now. I don't know. I don't know. We got to see on the river. How many cards does he have?
He's trying to muscle the pot right now.
I don't know.
I wanted to give a shout out to Robert Streb's Shank.
That was great.
I just want to say, you know, first and foremost, Robert, of course you know I'm a big fan.
You're on my Fred X Cup team.
But that is what you get for trying to play the Masters without a glove.
Because it gives me so much anxiety, dude, that try to play without a glove.
I would shank it every single time.
And so to see him do that was very much like,
you know what, buddy, you deserve that.
You got to play with a glove.
He drives me nuts.
Do you feel that way about Freddie couples?
Yes, Lucas Crowder.
All of them.
All of them.
Can't watch him swing.
Makes me uncomfortable.
Glandular issues.
I think the club's gonna go flying.
Do you wake up at night?
You know the cults sweat?
Oh my God, I don't have a glove in my bag.
Oh my God. I also wanted to give a quick shout out to Lee Westwood for proving that the players is not a major
as we saw his form. I think he needs to get his fiance back on the bag. It's true. You know,
they broke up the dream team. I think that might be, you know, there's no juice form. So all you
want to comment on Victor Perez's 78?
They are who we thought they were. Listen, I'll get out in front of the can't lay stuff.
I just, he didn't get the call this time.
I don't think anybody's asking you.
Is she a statement?
No, I thought you said 78 and I immediately just thought of it
and I'm bummed from my guy.
For the Tredstone program's getting shut down.
Sean McGuire is asking in the chat here,
how do we feel about Sandy Lyle's suspenders look?
Honestly?
I wish I had more hands.
Dude, yeah, I'm sure.
Why would I?
Four thumbs up.
A little look at me.
A little look at me.
Oh, very look at me.
I mean, but at that age, that's the DGAP age, man.
It's like, go wear whatever you want, you earned it.
What Bryson's doing is very look at me.
What, what Sandy Lyle's doing is so harmlessly look at me
that I'm, I'm way, way.
God, Bryson with the logo, with all the sponsors,
plus the party boy shirt, plus,
he's, he looks like he's got hieroglyphics all over him.
You know, it's like what, I can't keep,
is that, is, is that his dumb like head logo
or is that a Puma thing?
Like every week it changes, I can't keep up.
I do want to give a few shout outs for shots
that people should go back and watch on masters.com.
One of which Sandy Liles, T-Shot on 13,
he literally did top it.
It rolled out down the fairway, but it was a top.
Two, a fairway finder.
Jason Cocrack's T-Shot on 13 was like a duck hook
into the water very quick and the
and the guy that's filming him's like, I dumped it right in the water.
Gives live the cameraman a bit very chatty.
Yes, it's been great.
That was a lot of every shot live at the players too.
It's that's all.
More of that if you're listening.
Roe's the yo-miner listening.
And Rory of course, of course, hit in his dad on the seventh hole with the second shot.
That's one.
That was that was all.
Did you hear the, did you hear his quotes that he was, he was aiming for his dad.
Yeah.
And he hit him.
That's dirty.
Yeah.
Same kind of thing.
You were saying with speed.
Stenson, Stenson shanked one on 11 as well as second shot into 11.
And if you also watch Stewart Sinks tee shot on 12, you'll see Stenson's shanked land as
he's hitting that shot, which was awesome.
What else?
I think Shother was probably some one.
We got David Rochford asking, opinions on the lower is round today.
I would say, especially after the up and down, after you chipped it in the water on 15,
and then he gets up and down.
That shot was so good.
Awesome.
I ton of credit.
I think he might be a guy that lingers around.
You don't play really well.
You don't blows my mind. I know I mentioned it to you guys multiple times.
The fact that his catty is not his dad,
it just blows my mind every time I see him.
I didn't even look it up for the longest time
because they look so similar.
It just looks like Shane Lowry on that Russian face app
that was hacking everyone's data a couple of years ago.
I mean, it's wild.
Look out for that one tomorrow if you see him.
A lot of good memories with the old man.
I still, it was three years into Zander's career
that I've realized that his caddy was not his brother.
And I still just like, well, randomly remember
that his caddy's not his brother.
So if you wanna believe that that's his dad, go with it.
Cause I just still believe that,
I think his name's Austin Kaiser, Zander's caddy,
I still believe he's his brother,
even though I know he's not. So just make, create your own reality, reality. I love it's Austin Kaiser, Zander's, I still believe it's his brother, even though I know he's not.
So just make your own reality, reality, I love it.
I'm talking about Brooks.
Yeah, don't have.
I mean, yeah, should we skip right to the fashion stuff?
Cause I got some thoughts there.
What do you have?
Nike's a disgrace, that's my first thought.
I mean, I don't know what they're just,
just not good and it's like they probably have
how many people working on this stuff
for this is the Super Bowl, man.
Like everybody and their family
and everybody in their family
is watching this golf tournament.
And they just try to, I don't know,
the patterns they're using and the color coordination.
Like I don't care if it's navy or if it's royal blue.
That hat and that shirt that Roy were wearing,
they did not look good together.
Period point blank, that's how I feel about it.
And I just script.
Apparently you might have gone off screen,
you should have had a white hat on,
but we're gonna have to do some more digging on that one.
But I just think that the Nike stuff,
I wouldn't buy it off the clearance rack,
you know, I wouldn't pick it up at good will.
I just don't think it looks good.
We can't give a speech hat a pass either, it's not good.
No, speech hat's horrible. That's not good. No, space had horrible.
That's really bad.
Why do no golfers look cool?
Like how does, I don't want to look like any of those guys.
And that's the fucking masters.
Dustin always looks cool.
Dustin looks fine.
He would look cool in whatever he's wearing.
Yeah, he overcomes most of his outfits.
Yeah.
You gotta go to the ure a tour, man.
There's ure a tour, guys.
There's somehow out there that look good.
Who has golfered a little bit?
Robert Rock might be the last call for the look cool.
Shout out my guy, Robert Rock.
And then Bubba had like the double party boy pattern going.
He had like two different aloha prints, one on his visor and one on his shirt.
I was like, what, you know, just clashing, everybody's just clashing.
Everybody's trying to be too loud or, I don't know what it is, but Nike specifically needs
to be called out because it's a disgrace.
Possibly, we're also just not fashionable.
Well, if we're saying everybody looks bad, then maybe we just have a bad...
It's also bad to you guys.
They wear shirts that are meant to be billboards, right?
They're not shirts, I don't know.
It's a weird relationship between the manufacturer of this shirt and, you know, like a lot of our
stuff has really awesome stripes and stuff on it, but that's probably an awful thing for sponsors, right?
If you want your logo to stick out.
If you had a bunch of other colored, sure, you know,
images sewn into your shirt, it wouldn't look as good.
I thought JT looked good.
I know those are weird patterns, but I liked it.
I thought our friend Max Homelook could.
Of course.
I do like the shirts with the white, like the white fringe,
you know, like he, Max says,
Max is pushing for the NASCAR award though.
He's loading up the sponsors, man.
He's got what burns and will cocks now,
like I don't even, I can't even keep up with him, man.
He keeps winning.
Everybody's getting on the, on the Max bandwagon.
We might have to do an update to the NASCAR award this year.
That's wineaccess.com slash.
I know you, you're not wearing on your shirt though.
You can find this straw hat in the shop as well as this little look of t-shirt.
And buy a nest membership while you're at it.
I think, well, Capca, we didn't talk much about, but...
I mean, you shot even on the front and then he made four bogies out of five holes to start the back nine and I'm just kind of...
I mean mean two overs
You know probably about even part of day, right with how tough it was playing which I would say, you know as he's
Who knows if he's telling you the truth or what he's giving you but you know if he's really picking the
Pick in the flatest lines down the hills and all that stuff and he feel like you know as knees gonna fall off that
That's pretty good score today all things considered I would think Yeah, and I'm not really buying the like the road performance.
I don't know.
It's easy to have a high pain threshold for other people's pain,
but you know, it's, I don't need like the Brooks injury
storyline right now.
Well, if he's really hurting, he's start limping.
He's got to sell a little harder, you know.
Give me a little carry struggle.
I need something.
He's got to work in the fall market.
Somebody made a good point, maybe on Twitter,
that it's like, if you're gonna do this whole thing
with your leg and the yoga poses and stuff,
maybe wear some bag of your pants.
Like just a little looser.
He doesn't look very comfortable doing that stuff.
So it might be wearing on him.
Who knows?
Who could say?
I'm excited to watch tomorrow,
bright and
early, speed to be on the course early. I feel like the waves were not very balanced. The
afternoon wave was way better and the morning wave will be better tomorrow, which is rare
because Friday afternoon is kind of the prime weekday slot, I think.
Yeah, but it feels like a lot of those guys that the, you know, on the first page of the leaderboard
will be probably fading in the afternoon tomorrow, you know, on the first page of the leaderboard will be probably fading in the afternoon tomorrow, you know
Maybe the careening down the board. We're getting a flux of messages to talk about Fleetwood's ace actually all from the same guy Josh
Em. Josh and Fleetwood's ace. Awesome. It was super. What a thrill for all of us to see that. I'm sure for you as well. He made a one. Tommy Timmy Fleetwood. That was great stuff. Randy
Any thoughts on the pin on 16? Yeah, nice tour.
That was great stuff. Randy, any thoughts on the pin on 16? Yeah, nice tour.
Nice tour.
That's a fun open, nice tour.
I appreciate it, Speed, not even thinking about using the pin, just taking it right at
the flag.
Exactly.
Just give it a chance to go in the water.
It was mostly fun viewing today.
All right.
I still miss a total fan atmosphere, right? Yeah.
Final question I've got for you guys.
Best shot you saw today.
I mean, of course, extremely biased Homer.
Spee's approach in 18 filled me with a lot of delight.
I know Rose hit about six of those same golf shots in there,
but that one sticks with me.
I probably the cam smith's second shot in the 15, right?
That was, or I guess the Aces, you know, the Aces.
No, but cam set what, seven iron in the 15.
Yeah.
That was unbelievable.
Just because, I think because we saw so many balls just get ejected coming in there,
the way his cozy doubts like two feet was awesome.
Which is such a good example of, I mean,
he must have absolutely knotted that drive, right?
To have, you know, comfy seven iron in there.
Like that's kind of the trade off of distance, right?
When the greens get that firm,
it's like the further down there you can hit it,
the more of a chance you have to do that.
I will say Rose, one of the, I think one of only two holes,
he did not birdie in that like 10 or 11 whole stretch where he was nine under was number
11.
His punch out from the trees that got all the way onto the green on 11 was like very good
that will fly under the radar, but that was that was an excellent shot.
A couple awesome fans of missions.
Yeah, it's gonna say it.
Somebody call it Bob's flop.
Yeah, the Bob that big shot Bobby, I can tire.
Yeah, he's getting flopped.
He's getting tons of love in the chat.
So good.
JT's drive on 10, that weird, like,
low smother hook that he keeps hitting.
That was really cool.
Very cool.
Leashman's up.
Shot on 18.
Yeah.
So when Big Shot Bob being the best lefty ever from Scotland,
that blew my mind, but then I was like, yeah, maybe you're right.
Bob Charles. Is that a big deal? Is he not Scottish?
True. No, who could say sounds like one of those, I don't know. Now that's always new. He's QE. Oh, I'm going to roast it for that.
No, I think that's forget. That's very forgivable. I think that's it.
And as someone who's been on the on the wrong side of some Scottish iron. I'm here for you, bud.
Like, did they even put on the gloves before the 1950s?
Neils making great points about the golf course now, and I'm getting nationalities wrong.
I was getting hit and hit by the scots.
Anyway, I thought it was a bit like, you know, like I'm the best ever six eight golfer
from Cincinnati.
I got on a limb and say, Randy, I was. I was gonna I was gonna say it's like the the announced from major league when he comes out with the you know in the movie major league
When it's like he's the only guy in the month of August to hit above 250
Above the in a city above the Mason Dixon line dynamite drop in money that broadcasting school has really paid off
drop in money that broadcasting school has really paid off.
It's like one of my favorite movies. So if you're Scottish, you can feel free to get my ass if I'm,
if I'm misrepresenting the left handed history of Scottish golfers.
Should we, you know, before we go, should we, I feel like it's,
oh, it's been talked about at length on the trap drive.
We ever talked about in the main pod, Randy, you literally moved.
Do we need to talk about that?
We certainly can. Yeah, I moved. A lot of people still don't believe it, which is awesome.
Which is a sweet spot. We keep teasing that out. Exactly. Yeah, I moved out to Denver. I think one
of the most common refrains has been like, why? And I guess to that, I would say, we've been lucky enough to get no laying up in a place where,
you know, I think that one of the goals for all of us is utilizing technology,
how we can start, you know, getting different places,
but still being able to do everything we want to do and need to do.
And so, you know, I spent three years in Florida.
I think that was enough for me, and I was just on a personal level looking for a change
of scenery and, you know, a new place to live.
So I picked Denver.
I like to ski.
You know, it's nice being outdoors here.
I missed the change of season.
So that's kind of the non-ironic, non-funny response, I guess.
People are still accusing you of this being a bit in the chat. Only time will tell.
Brandy, come in from the other room.
Come on, knock it off, man. It's cool to see you embracing technology. You know, I've been trying
to get disruptive for years now. We may, who knows, we may hit our wagon to the Microsoft Azure cloud, like
our friend, the big golfer has.
If I may throw, I just was reading here that, this is according to golf digest, Wayne
Player is a shareholder of the golf ball company through a firm that has invested in
the business. No way. I mean, I'm not, I didn't know that as of the time when we talked
about that, but that's not neither that what are fucking
Okay, I think it's a Southern Florida company
If if I'm not mistaken no more free ads for them
Is it a free ad if we're just ripping them to shreds though? We haven't mentioned their name, have we no?
But then the people go Google it and find out what it is
But I think that probably sadly for them today is net overall win, which sucks, but anyways.
If you want to hit the golf ball at Gary player, like 84 year old Gary player, I would go check it out.
Karate kick after your opening ceremonial tee shot. Very much a catch. Very much a nobody.
Gary player doing a scissor kick on the first tee. Yeah. Can I say where we might be headed with Gary player?
And I hope it's not. And you guys the the kind of the the last years of Ted Williams and how he got put in some bad situations by his
Large adult son. I'm I'm worried we might be head there with mr. Player, but I hope not
Mr. Player also put himself in some bad situations on the set so of course all right, let's wrap it all right guys
I want thanks everyone. We'll see you tomorrow night
Cheers
I love the live show for live show
I
That's better than most.
How about in?
That is better than most.
Better than most.
