always confusing to recap because now we just saw so much golf in like a 36 hour time period that I'm going to probably mess up for some four ball, whatever we saw. You see so many ups and downs between how guys are playing, but a picture has formulated through the end of today.

I really didn't hit the jackpot on what I tried to follow today. There was every time I caught up with a match, it started getting stinky and it's just a really difficult golf course to try to get around and whatnot. But you know what I was thinking,

especially after the morning session, that's about as like by the book, predictability, predictable nature of golf that matches could, like down to the match, like the team that you think should win it, won like every single one. There was a lot of, there's a great Ken Brockman on the Simpsons, Sid and opens the newscast and the little engine that nobody thought could, didn't.

Yeah. That was basically how this whole week has felt. DJ's been telling me how each session's going to end like exactly right. I just have not believed him one time yet. I mean, Europe won the afternoon session two to two. I mean, that's a huge enormous win for Europe. You have to think. What's the best case scenario for Europe tomorrow?

Nine out of 12. Well, what I was saying, well, retaining the cup. For sure. Retaining the USA. That's correct. Well, I was saying, is there might be, it feels to me like, if I was, you know, doing some betting, I don't know how,

I feel like the on paper match results are going to be a lot different than the, the eye test match results. You know, it feels like clinch early and then it's kind of like, oh yeah, who cares, you know, kind of the like, your place for your wicket be the page. Yeah, exactly. I got lost a match. I got to remember that at all. It's basically when, when DJ beat Sali in any of our videos and then DJ shut it down, shut the blown it up and it plays horrible. Yeah, don't waste any good ones, which from a gambling perspective, I'm actually like very, very keen to see how they build that in. That's interesting and everything because I think that's like, I think I was looking

at it earlier and US was favored pretty heavily in singles tomorrow. But you would think that Europe's gonna stack their guys early. It's gonna look like they're a little frisky early. Hey, maybe, you know, like five, five of the first seven matches and then, and man, by the time, you know, maybe they win four of those first seven and the by the time you get there, it's like, oh, okay, like we're fucked on the stretch because like we don't have any horses. I think their horses in the back. I think they're fucked no matter what because I don't know like how do you screw it up if you're striker like who's your weak horses you're putting out. I know sir truly like I don't know who they are.

It's the depth. I'm sure it might be spieth JT. Yeah, I don't know burger burger is probably played the worst I would say of anyone that I've seen. Harris is had good. I think they should go for 19 points That's eight to four. It's not very sporting and I Do a lot of jockeying tomorrow for the inaugural Nicholas Jacklyn. Does anybody want it? Same as before. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, I think that's very interesting. But they put a performance element in, like you have to play well.

What just really what would you have done differently? A total hats off. Yeah, you did he's I mean you set the singles pairings whatever and then your job is done on like 99% of it is already done. I would say like getting through team play up 11 to 5. He made the six captains picks. He may change it to six captains picks.

Love that move. He picked these six exact guys that I would like them to pick. Love that move. Put the the eight guys that I would want out there in ForSums. They dominated that. You did the right stuff for ball. He did some weird stuff, but whatever it worked, play fine.

Handle Bryson perfectly. That pairing with Scotty Schaeffler was great. Is it a weak European team? Yes, but like they ran the freaking playbook that I've been desperate for them to run, and they are going to run away with this thing. Talk a little bit about what the Bryson vibe on the ground has been like. So it was different from day to day. Yesterday Bryson was the showman,

showing his driver off to the crowd. And today Bryson did not have it. He was off the planet through the middle stretch, starting to hit it in the lake on seven. Hit it so, that's wayward. Hit it on number two on eight, and then hit it off the hospitality on nine, and then blew it way left on 10 again,

and then made the sickest up and he drained a 30 footer for a disgusting up and down. That's when they kind of turned them on, and that match chips to left two in the bunker. And that's Bryson was a four ball player only today. Like I worry about him in his single smash a little bit. He did not play great. I was saying that too.

He has, he circled as a guy. But he, but like that having him and Sheffler, they went one, oh, and one, I, I, I type out a tweet. I thought they went two and oh, but having like that as your do, like you are the two dudes. Here's exactly what you're going to play. You know exactly how to prepare. You're going to go do that and get us a point and a half.

Like that's a look at a luxury in these events. That's what you need. You need like two or three of those guys to win these events. And I mean, you don't even need them when you're going to win by any. And you have five of them. Yes. But maybe you could have had a major champion on the squad. Oh, it was a room for him. I was throwing out another, we can run this back tomorrow, but I was floating something to you guys that I think the US is going to be so dominant in years coming. Here's what I think is actually gonna happen. I think they're ROM is they're gonna try to avoid DJ with ROM and they're gonna put him second and then the US is gonna do the same thing though. They're gonna they're gonna line up second. We were talking about that today like who do you put? Like, who's the US guy right now? And on paper, it does seem like DJ, but then whoever was, I think maybe Cody was saying,

like DJ is also set up. I mean, he's been impeccable this week, but he also is kind of set up for a trap. One of those like DGAS. He's gonna be tired. Kind of trap. Honestly, he said can't lay out. I love that.

But so like where I come out on this is honestly I don't care who goes against Ram as as long as it's not like dj because how many guys i think i literally think any of the twelve guys in the u.s. team can be wrong tomorrow underdogs all of them will be underdogs but can be them and there's like six guys on Europe that i truly don't think can be dj so i'd rather get the full i don't know if it was randy or dj said it coming up back to the rv but

I mean, I just it's I'm a quarter and I were talking about like the polarizing difference of our Ryder Cup weeks, like 2016, it was all Rory, like he made the whole week fun for all the fans, all the people that, all the media were out like following him for the entirety of the

week, and he's just a total non-factor now. And his golf isn't that much, it's not like he's bad, right? He's just mediocre. Like, that's what the frustrating part is, right? And like, are we headed for like three years of speed drop off like we had from speed? Like non-rider cut player, but I think the difference and this is where I just don't know what he's doing Well enough like behind the scenes, but Speed was in almost like rebuild mode, right? Like he was changing stuff and I guess I just don't have a good sense of

Is Roy doing that like it almost seems like Roy stuck in, just that kind of middle ground, where he's not necessarily rebuilding, he's not like changing a bunch of stuff. I guess he was working with other swing coaches and stuff, but it's just, yeah, I don't know. What do you guys think was Jason Speed? Like last year, and he was like,

okay, I need to take some time off and get back to being myself, and then just hasn't really, I'm like, I think with Speed though, I always got, like I always got the sense that I get, it pisses, like it pisses, it's a spieth off the most.

That he was playing. Yeah, and you just don't, I don't sense that same feeling from Rory, which might not be fair, but that's just my outside perception. That's where, like I get to it and yeah, he won the Wells Fargo this year, but you're looking at one first, one third, and four miscuts this year.

Five top 10s in 21 events, like, that's not Rory, right? That's not, you know, that's not somebody, especially on PGA tour courses. Can we talk about, can we lead with maybe not lead, we're 20 minutes in here, but Shane Lowry. Oh, yeah, I'm so glad they sat in this. Yeah, can we talk about him only going to play three matches this week is that's mismanagement. That's straight up, that's bad, bad decision making.

I mean, that, of course, this is, we're aware. This is all kind of easy to say after the fact, but no Lowry today in the morning, no Sergio yesterday for a session. It's just like, dude, it's very clear where the depth is on these two teams. And this whole like, yeah, I know these guys just, you know, they're not going to be able to go all five. So we got to make sure we get them the rest where they need it. It's like, you can't do that.

You're not good enough to do that. Yeah. I would like to nominate Lowry for the DJ and we're talking about it at the top bloke award. The Chubby Chandler Memorial, top bloke award. Well, you're going to say, like these guys do need rest. I mean, like Sergio's older Lowry is, I don't know if he's good to go, you know, 72 holes over two days, but I think that's just the workhorse. It's just like a piece of workhorse. It's a fundamental issue with the team, though. It is, but the only I don't know what the answer is, I guess. The only route to winning was like a couple of those dudes getting a couple reps out there. Like you needed the Rafa Cabrera Bayo go undefeated guy that you didn't know was going to go undefeated. And you weren't going

to get that by like playing, you know, some of their weaker players one time in team golf and then send them out in singles, right? You needed like some dudes to get hot and it just didn't materialize, right? So you could have played all of the big guns more and sat, you know, Westwood more, Westwood was going to lose his singles match. Then if that was the case, so and so it's probably lose his singles match as well and you have no shot at winning also. I agree with that. I think the flagrant was this morning that lorry and did he play great yesterday?

You saw the shit that happened though. He was with Rory which is like no no I'm not even saying that like that has to be such bad energy right now from from Rory. Like you saw him with Hatton who's at least fiery and into it Like if there's a I just before the week if you look at the European team and like you have to try to identify who might Step up and and get you three and a half points in four matches like Lowry was a guy that I would ID as Like there's a realm of possibility there I'm gonna push back because he made one birdie

yesterday in Fort Ball. Well, he was playing with the corpse. I don't understand the- That's to be on Saturday. I don't understand the singles argument of like, if you sit him today, he's deaf, like somebody's definitely gonna lose in singles then. It's like, Olis and they sat,

they sat him all day Friday, or all day Saturday, I'm talking France and he won in singles. 99, like you had the guys that didn't play until singles right and they were just like freaking. You're not gonna sit them all the time but like there's not much of an in between. There's not a ton of precedent. I see what you're saying. I'll push back though is that like Fitzpatrick and Westwood and those go and send them back out. They're not an ultimate. Like some of those 99 guys are like anonymous non PGA tour

playing like those guys were like in about their head. Like these guys are all world class players, right? And they've played legitimately. I mean, they've played rider cups though. Like they've played, they've played moments and stuff. But DJ, DJ are not going to be scared out there. Scared, but like you, like you needed to like play your way into something, right?

Or else you're going to get to, you're are going to be underdog going into singles. Yeah. And then if you try to out a bunch of dudes that haven't haven't taken it's like you got to put your best team out each session I think and because what especially when you are the underdog and because DJ was saying earlier is like all right Like you know what it would just it would have been way too bad for Sunday singles if we would have started these guys And they're gonna be exhausted and you know and now we're down fucking 11 to 11 to 5 like yeah like six go it in just yeah but but you know what we're set up right for singles these guys are well rested might be

exhausted in the fourth quarter but I'd like to see you maybe just having a chance in the for like somebody said something about like it's like it's like it's like it's like you're guy out who gets in felt real yeah and then all right close back in your down 20 we're down 16 going like two minutes left. It's like who fucking cares? I get it, but I think it's more of a, this was more of a gamble. Like you had to roll the dice.

I see what you mean. It's kind of just like it, I mean, cutting to the heart of it, like it's just kind of like choose which way you want to lose, basically. Choose what you want to die. I just felt like it's so much, it's worse than it needed to be, right?

I think he's, A, he sent out the same exact, like, all right, he sent, like, let's go match my match. He sent, ramen Garcia out first thing this morning against Keppkin and Berger, which I love that from striker, basically saying, hey, we're not going to send out our best team. We're going to send out two guys that can kind of, like, that can give us our best. They're world class players, but it's not even our A team. It's going to send out two guys that can kind of like that can give us our best their their world class players, but it's not even our 18. It's our weakest force. We know that they're going to send out their 18. So that was a good move from striker. And then Johnson Morecala versus Casey and Hatton, whatever. I mean, I don't think anybody's beating

Johnson Morecala. That was Kassimor, Johnson, more cala have been like the the best to some. Yeah, play until I can't play. And then Hovland and Whisperger, I like like I didn't mind that one. Um, and then Westwood, like, but sending Westwood Fitzpatrick back out this morning after

watching them yesterday, like, Westwood can't hit along like, he can't even deny it. That's what you're supposed to do. You're Lee Westwood. Westwood is't hit along, like he can't even deny it. That's what you're supposed to do. You're Lee Westwood. Westwood is the oldest looking person of all of the captains included on the European Ryder Cup team.

It's just, I mean, I don't know, I was got some miles on it too. All this is, again, it's kind of- It's kind of- It's kind of choose your own adventure and decide which way is the least, is the least shitty basically. Yeah, it's like, but you're in Podrick's slight defense. It's not a good spot to be in when you have to fucking sit Rory for the first time ever.

Right? And that's like, that's what you walk away as is like, I think this gives us our best option to come back from this massive deficit. It's just it, like that's an indictment of Rory, right? It is, but it's also like a, like that's a bat. It's just a bad spot for him to be. Like that just is also indicative of like a lot of bad play from a lot of guys you need to play with. You know what's a very almost sad and desperate move
