I'm going to be the right club today.
Yeah. That's better than most.
How about him?
That is better than most.
Better than most.
Expect anything different. Ladies and gentlemen,
Scotty Sheffler is one of the green jacket,
Sali is here, T.C. is here.
Hark. Hark.
You guys better recognize. I want Daps.
DJ Pies here, hello DJ.
The only person I'm happier for is Tron,
then I am for Scotty.
I mean, just an unbelievable day, Tron.
Congratulations, man.
This is about you.
Thank you.
Big Randy is here.
He is going to be issuing a statement, I believe,
of some kind, and he's going to be retiring for the night,
hello, and Neil's going to be taking his place after that,
but hello, Big Randy.
Hello, thank you for allowing me the opportunity.
Before we do get to that, TC,
I want you to, there's going to be a lot of flexing, I think, tonight,, I want you to, you know, there's gonna be a lot of flexing I think tonight,
but I want you to flex a little bit about some new sticks.
Maybe you have in your bag and how that's going for you.
Oh my gosh.
Well, yeah, I shot 70 to hit a crale.
Parts 69.
Mostly the equipment stuff as well.
I was before that.
Well, I know, but I shot a important comment at it.
It was like my fourth or fifth round with a new equipment.
I put a set of combo, I did my own combo set.
I got three rogue ST pros, four, five, six,
and then I blended them with a Apex TCB set,
seven, eight, nine pitching wedge,
and I have an A wedge that may or may not
be making its way into the bag.
I love them.
The turf interaction over here in Scotland is unbelievable.
The you would,
the,
oh, we've been singing the praises of the you would.
Oh, the phrase turf interaction is so good.
It's good.
That's going in my permanent lexicon.
The you would, I got it really, really,
I love the shaffing on my three wood right now.
The new three wood is unreal.
And the new driver, it's really good.
It's all unwir, I will say I brought five putters
on the trip, I brought two lefty putters
and three righty putters, I'm gonna put lefty tomorrow.
It's not going well.
But Tee-Dee Green, I think I had 14 green today.
And we're killing it.
It's because it's, I love the new irons.
They're awesome.
Shout out to our friends at Calaway Golf.
You can find a more information
about all those clubs TC just mentioned
at calaway golf.com.
Big Randy, do you want to get us started here
with the statement here?
I'd love to.
Okay.
I appreciate you guys.
I appreciate the tournament committee.
I appreciate everybody allowing me time.
I've prepared just a quick statement.
First, he will not be taking questions.
And I will not be taking questions on advice on my council.
Even though we're in Herb-Colors' Board.
I wanna congratulate Skychefler on a tremendous
Wow.
That's so cool.
It was so big of you, baby.
It was well deserved.
He bested a field of, I don't know how many really good golfers
So hats off to him five or six
Some of the top ten no showed
But that's you know, I I said he didn't pass my I test as the number one golfer in the world
You know that that doesn't look good right now. I think there was some nuance there that wasn't properly conveyed,
mostly my fault, I'm sure.
And so I just want to say sorry to Scott, his parents, his wife,
a Meredith, his kids, his grandkids, the whole Sheffler family.
I'm sorry for doubting you.
I look forward to the next however many months to see where this goes.
And yeah, I'm gonna step away for a little bit.
It's not a suspension, but we're pausing big-radity.
We're pausing.
We're gonna take a break now.
So with that said, I'd like to bring in my associate
to complete the show.
Before we do that, can we just mention one thing,
how close were you on this Scottish Eiffel Tower
miscut bet this week?
I won't be answering questions
Thank you, and that's Bush League if you'd asked you knew you knew it was gonna be absolutely you're real mute
Mon you know
It's how he said months deals cried like the Charlie Rive or Blue Curtain video right now
He said months not yours. He said months
That's chicken shit Randy what a day. you guys have a fun time watching the masters?
That's, I had a blast.
Maybe that was a setting.
Maybe that was the action, I don't know,
but that was a very memorable day for me.
You guys were, I don't know.
All the rory stuff, all the fluffy cotton candy popcorn.
Get out of here.
Get out.
That was the most fun.
That was the first time all week we felt like the rush
of like 30 different things happening in 25 minutes,
all at once.
CBS never really actually got caught up after that crazy run
when Rory started making his move.
It was, it was, the day had everything,
it had a guy make a run and make it probably somewhat,
we can talk about the decision to go at the pin on 12.
We had Sheffler kind of, you know,
scruffing it a bit in the beginning.
Cam goes hunting in the beginning, gets within one.
Sheffler chips in, Rory's doing shit all over the golf course.
It was happening.
It was all happening.
I don't know if I ever actually truly believe
Rory could do it, but it kind of felt like,
at least fake, maybe he could do it.
He could get close.
Minwoo Lee showed up to the party,
had six or seven drinks at like 40 minutes.
And they all flacked out.
30, 40 for him.
Yeah.
Shout out to the cat, of course, on that one.
Of course, of course.
T.C.
First off, hello everyone.
I would like to point out how hyped the barget,
the jigger and get when Rory was doing Rory things.
Oh my gosh.
I mean, how hyped do people get like an instant concert?
That's the analogy.
That's such a bad joke.
We got Saur Scottie.
Yeah, Saur Scottie. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no shot win. Sure, you're right. You're right. All right, cool. So, all right, Roy,
hats off to Roy for getting within five.
It was a bit of a celebration of life,
and we had a good time.
We're gonna talk for three hours.
Roy couldn't break part of the Scotties.
Let's talk about Scotties.
We gotta talk about Scotties.
We gotta talk about Scotties.
The world number one has one four times
in six starts, including his first major.
Truly, I know you through Dustin had a five shot lead.
Recently, I know Spieth.
It's a fake masters.
It's really hard for me to think of a straight up
more deserving champion.
Another guy that just went out and did all of it.
I mean, it was, I don't want to say never in doubt,
but kind of, right?
I mean, it was like, who possibly didn't think
he was going to hold on?
Well, when it was in doubt, he just did something
to make up for it immediately.
I mean, it was like on 17, it was,
it was, it was past being in doubt at that point,
but gets in trouble and steps up,
like leaves himself a perfect number
and just hits a wedge to a foot.
And it's like, dude, he just, he did that on repeat.
He, I made a huge par save putt on 11,
makes another huge par save around 12.
Those putst do not hit the edges of the holes at all. They go in the center of the hole. It was it's just it's just no doubters. They
got a little you got a little squirtle. It was awesome. Four point eight. That was amazing.
It was sweet. I made it even better. It sounded like one of those bad idea tweets that always
goes out. It's like off. I'm up by five. I'm definitely four point me 18 just for fun.
And he actually did it. And then so the way he played the 13th hole two, tactically laying up right in front of the creek,
chipping on in a good spot in this episode.
That was one of the tactically laying up in front of,
like you're gonna dapp him for.
I mean, he's up by a million, like,
oh, that was one of the worst layups I've ever seen.
He hit too close there.
Oh, I hit it like, he hit it like 40 yards too close.
He chipped it to like eight feet.
I know, man.
It was not a difficult shot.
That's not a, that's not why you hit that,
that layup went way too far.
Why would you challenge the Creek?
It didn't even reach the Creek.
That was not the point.
But it was like 10 yards too close.
It's either hit it, you like 200 yards
and get within 40 or hit it like 115 to leave yourself.
That's not one of the shots
that I'm gonna lot him for.
Honestly, my day starts with his chip shot at number one.
Right?
Yeah.
You have a guy sitting around, never won a major before, all the expectations, all the
pressure, and he misses the green at number one.
He has this incredible, ridiculous looking chip shot and knocks it to stone dead.
That's the guy that, when you see someone kick the master's way, like that's, that's how it starts, right? And, and Scotty pretty bravely,
pretty bravely show that that's not how the day was going to go.
We like that. And we like that take. Yeah, thank you. Thank you for that.
I'd like to go around the table. What do you think? The best shot that Scotty hit all day
was? Well, let's just go through his round a little bit, right? Because I think that's, I think it's better to pick one.
Like pick a shot.
What was the iconic shot?
I mean, the chip in, the chip in on three was,
that was an out of body.
That was going 10 or 12.
Yeah, that was the round.
That was a shot for me.
That was definitely on the list.
That was that your selection.
Yeah, that was me.
It was a historic shot.
PC.
Oh my gosh, there's a lot of different ways
that you guys would think of.
I'm, to me, it's got to be an iron shot
where, because he hit his iron so freaking well
the last three days, the iron into seventh,
the iron into nine, the iron into 14.
I mean, all, like, those are the shots
that, like, he's put himself in not a great
spot off the tee and then just removes any sort of doubt or any sort of even, even question
mark at all and just, just goes and does a damn thing and in turns, hey, maybe he can scratch
out a par here to holy shit, he's making birdie.
I think the most deflating shot and again, it was a weird, because it's not like I was rooting against Scotty, right?
Like I just wanted, you know,
it's hard to get interesting, right?
But it's that big of a lead,
it's like, shit, I'm kind of rooting against you
in a way.
But the one that kind of like deflated me the most
was the one on seven.
Or it's just like, okay, weird hole, weird shit happens,
you get a weird bounce, you're a little long,
you're a little short, and he just spins it back to,
you know, what, three feet.
Oh, it's gonna be another birdie.
Like, fuck, man.
But I think by that point, Cam had birdied,
I think he cam birdie three of the first seven,
lost a shot, Scotty, right?
And it's still like, okay, now that's probably,
it's probably isn't gonna happen.
Well, and it got to the point where,
when he flipped over to the back,
it was, I was trying to bring up the speed comparison
to 2016 because if you go back,
like no one thought that was gonna happen.
He was a little squirrely on that day,
but he was coming off the match this winter year before,
huge lead on the back nine on Sunday.
It was gonna take something truly screwy
to happen for not to win it.
And that's exactly how I felt going.
Where is the chink in the armor here?
I don't see him giving away a five shot lead
or whatever he had when he turned.
And that was exactly the scenario I thought of.
And the guy just went out and did the damn thing
and the way that speed did not obviously go out and do it.
But that's the thing you see is like,
when you go back and look at the scorecard,
you can look at all the shots and all that.
You go out there and look at the scorecard,
clean card on the front.
And it felt like he shot 39 for a while, yeah.
Yeah, and I mean, because of the par on two
and the par on eight
Feels like like those feel like bogies, right and then
Insane Yeah, the ship on four was great the shit the the shot in a five. Yeah, that was that was maybe the best irony hit all day
I'm wondering if how much of an effect we were all around the same age,
you know, when this happened.
Norman in 96, like, the whole,
like, build up to that round, the collapse,
the meltdown, if that makes us view,
I think it makes me view, like,
somebody's sleeping on the lead so much differently.
I'm, I'm like, panicked for the person sleeping on the lead
and having to wait until 240 to tee off.
And like, to handle that on the...
It's a very formative tournament for you, right?
Where in your head, you're like,
no, no, this is what happens at the masters.
Yes, exactly.
I guess it hasn't really happened.
That was the first tournament.
That was the first masters I watched the final round.
Yeah, because I can't think of a tournament
before that where I remember somebody collapsing.
And there's probably multiple,
but I don't, you know,
I don't have a personal memory of that.
So that is very formative for all of us.
Yeah, so when you watch somebody who's young,
just go out and like, take the damn thing,
I think that's probably why I was so captivated with speed
when he did age 21.
I'm like, no, no, like, I got this,
and I got that shit dog.
Move on to the next one, it's mine.
And that's not normal.
No, that's what that reminded me of was speed-winning it in 2015.
I also, this is not a bit.
I don't want to get there yet, but we've got to give a shout out to his
Iron Shadow 15 as well.
Which I don't know why I did that.
I appreciated him doing that.
It seemed like an outrageous, ridiculous play, but you pulled it off.
It was sweet.
I think the idea was like, all right, if I lay it up
and then go in the water, that's worst-case scenario for me. Totally. So if I hit it in one of I think the idea was like, all right, if I lay it up and then go in the water,
that's worst case scenario for me.
So if I hit it in one of the waters on this shot,
and you know, then I'm hitting four somewhere.
And chip in like I'm chip in.
Yeah, and you can basically,
if it doesn't draw, it's going in the bunker.
Yeah, right.
And then you got plenty of green to work with.
From me, T.C., you called it out earlier.
The iron he hit into 14 was the one,
it because it almost
yeah, rolled off the back and but he's playing the hill
it was like I was like oh no he blew it.
No, he did that's gonna roll right.
I almost went in it was like oh we oh man.
Like it's like he's spring it a little bit off the tee
or he's he's hot and cold with the chipping
and I thought it was a spot And I thought that was good. And I thought that was good. And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good.
And I thought that was good. And I thought that was good. And I thought that was good. last year. It can happen. And then he just put the nail in the coffin.
The second shot on five though, like I just remember thinking on that one, like holy
shit man, like this is like he was, he was not, like he had kind of kind of faded that
drive a little bit.
He was out on the outside of the dog leg.
I just remember watching, like that was a 200 yard iron in there too.
Like the toughest pin on that green.
Like right over that mound and Cam comes up just short and Scotty's over the mound and
yeah, misses the putt.
But that to me was like, that was a major championship, like just a bonafide savage shot there.
Sorry.
I've got the app going.
The app is too good.
The app is incredible. Does this, what is, okay, so we kind of joked with the over
under eight and a half majors last night for Scotty. What is the number? Is it two and a
half? Yeah, I think two and a half for any young players is a pretty aspirational number.
All right. More majors right now. Scotty or more a collar. Total or going forward.
Total or a collar was got to. Yeah.
I would say going forward.
It's easy to get caught up in the.
That's what I'm not going to do tonight.
I'm not going to do tonight.
That's what I played this game before.
I would say total is the only way to measure it, right?
Like they're because it's hard to say like, oh, from now, like starting now,
I would say at the end, you know, when they go to the Champions Tour, who's an easy answer.
I think if it's, if it's total, because more, I mean, one major lead is enormous.
But Warikawa, I mean, he's, he's a, he's a track man.
Go for it. Right. And I think that's like DJ, we're going to get to that.
We're going to have a passion.
Sure. DJ is getting ready to get back to some stuff here.
Our friend, Jed, son of a tech, he said free of you. Reminding you about that. Three of you, some stuff here. Our friend, Jed, sent a text.
He said, I was going to read this out loud as well.
He said, Sheffler is a 460cc fraud who got away with murder for 72 holes.
Needs a white bronco to go along with his green jacket.
I think his point is that he tends to hit it a little bit all over the map and gets
a little help by technology.
However, I think Scotty would be a good golfer
at DT.
I think it would get it in the hole in any other way.
He's a shot maker.
Yeah.
And so nothing against Scotty,
but I do think he had a crucial moment in tournament.
He got some help on number three.
And I'm, we won't talk about it.
I do think.
But I got a problem with the drop behind the scoreboard.
There shouldn't be TIO because those aren't temporary
scoreboards.
They're all fine.
Well, TC, I've been going at it.
I've been just fighting them off in the corner
that they, those, I've been, it's 50-50,
are they temporary and they're not temporary?
We don't know.
It doesn't matter.
I don't think that the course should play easier
for professionals.
Grandstands, scoreboards, whatever.
You hit a bad shot like that.
You should take a stroke and get line of sight.
That's fine.
You want to take line of sight, take it,
or play the balls at lies.
I'll also say that was a, that was a,
I mean, Cam was one back right there.
That was a, and then he, and then Scottie chipped in
to his credit.
He, that was, I think that was the shot
that Scott probably, or the rules changed.
That Cam probably wishes he had back.
The chip shot on three. Was the chip change that can probably wishes he had back.
The chip shot on three was the chip shot on three because then he's probably playing differently when he gets to
12. I mean, I just want a reversal of the men's not the
chip shot on three. The approach shot on three. Also, at a
gust that's kind of philosophical like like trees are
temporary and moveable objects. I know that's my point.
They're moving that shit every year.
Scoreboards and you tell me that's my point. They're moving that shit every year. You can't go score boards and you tell me
that's temporary in the pine tree next to it's not like that's,
that's not, that's the one.
It's concrete in the ground.
You can't leave it on that.
No, I can't.
I just think that's bullshit.
Like if you miss left on three,
it should be like missing left on two.
What is that, Dej?
I think they call that the Delta counter
or the Delta R counter.
Yeah, it should be boned over there.
Delta.
Delta.
Unless you ask for a red coat.
Unless you're a diamond.
Of course, then you can maybe get relief.
What's these guys are diamonds though?
What my friend is trying to say, I think, is it's an impressive win for Scotty.
It is.
No, no, I'm not holding it against him, but somebody brought up that, you know, there's
a, did he get any help?
Is he blowing it all over the yard? Yeah, he is. And I thought that that was a moment where, you know, did he get any help? Is he blowing it all over the yard?
Yeah, he is.
And I thought that that was a moment where,
you know, he got lucky and he deserved it.
He took advantage of the rules.
I'm not criticizing Scotty.
I'm criticizing the rule.
Let me very clear about that.
Unpacked this one for me if you guys good.
Because I was discussing this.
I shouldn't even be saying this,
attorney client privilege.
I was discussing this with Randy over some pints last night.
Everybody loves spieth, right? Spieth hits it all over the map. Spieth hits these amazing chip shots. client privilege. I was discussing this with Randy over some pints last night. Everybody
loves spieth, right? Spieth hits it all over the map, spieth hits these amazing chip shots,
he's getting it up and down from everywhere, he's doing all this outrageous stuff, he's
a young guy from Texas. What's the difference? Why has Scotty not grabbed the same electricity
as our boy wonder? Scotty's not as... Scotty wasn wasn't if I may I think Scottie wasn't the
heir apparent right like spieth coming out was like a tour pro from the time he
was 15 years old and I think that is a little bit of almost which is funny
because they were very like their amateur careers are pretty similar with
Scottie Scottie just battled the injuries in the latter part of his college
career and all that I think the big thing with the speed is that he's everything's on his sleeve, right?
It's you see you've lived like,
carry his sleep through him where I think the guy that's probably the best cop to speed
right now is Cam.
Huh?
No, that's like unbelievable iron player.
Oh, I thought you meant like emotionally.
No, like connection.
It's like the way they play the game where you're like, you're other all in or all out.
And you feel like they can make birdie from anywhere, but also like he's going to hit this
drive off the planet every six holes.
You know, I would, I would say speed.
It's, it's very easy to forget coming out.
I got age 21.
Like it's, it's fucking ridiculous.
What do you do?
He wins, wins the Masters, wins the US Open is a a shot of the playoff right here at the old course and
Finish the second at Whistling like that was that was age like we have if we get to the end of this year
And we got like four huge experiences with Sheffler. I think it's a different conversation
That's a little bit of what I'm getting at you is like we were talking about before we fired up the cameras is
Part of the reason I think why Scotty doesn't connect with like the vast vast majority
And I would very much put myself in this category
Is because before today like he hadn't done it right like he'd won really good PJ tour events any PJ tour player
You talk to is gonna say this guy rules. He's really freaking good or TC of course. I think you mentioned it once or twice
but the to really be embraced like you have to have done it,
at least once, right?
And I think we said the same thing about Hideki last year.
Like when Hideki gets on the leaderboard this year,
he's a different guy than he was, you know, 18 months ago.
I thought I'd really go harder at the PGA tour.
On this one.
No, I think a no comment is almost worse than going at it.
Because today, what I'm getting at is this kind of just I think a no comment is almost worse than going at it.
Because today, what I'm getting at is this kind of just illustrates the difference
between winning on the PJ tour
and the difference between winning a major.
I won three of the last five events including
and people are kind of still like,
yeah, that's interesting.
They're shrugging a little bit.
Yeah, like he's cool.
He might still be a fluke or whatever.
Like juxtaposed. And then he wins a major and it's like he's he cool. He like he might still be a fluke or whatever. Like like juxtaposed what and then he went in and then he
went to major and it's like, oh shit dude.
I was gonna say King made juxtaposed how he was coming in
with what you just said like he's won three of his last five.
He got to world number one and what he's gonna look like
at the US open or the PGA rather when he shows up
to PGA people are like, oh, Scotty, Scotty's my dude.
Yeah, the guy won the Master's, man.
You see that?
That was amazing.
Scotty's gonna be a predator at Southern Hills.
It, you can't emphasize enough how ridiculous it is.
Not only the hot ass run into it,
but to come in number one with this hot ass run.
It's running throughout it.
It's hot sweaty ass off the pick up basketball.
Voting, I hate you.
Like icy hot. That run. That's the pizza pick up basketball. Moody. I do. Like icy hot.
That runs.
That's the thing to that nature.
You couldn't have put more expectations on him.
Like, you know, he couldn't have raised the bar anymore,
yet it didn't feel like it got to that level.
And he still goes out and does it as world number one.
Like not many dudes.
So many to become world number one.
Right before they go to the pasta and go back it up.
You know, he saw you. I'll see you are after you win one turn. I mean, I don't know, but not only one turn, home world number one right before they go to the US to go back it up.
You know, you saw still you are after you won one turn.
I mean, I don't know, but not only won't
play match play, like the most exhausting one there is.
Yeah, you know, exhausted.
You know, exhausted.
We were after walked just walking around
cradle today.
It's great.
You know what?
We got shut out Ted Scott for sure.
We do.
Absolutely.
All of it. If you want to, you know, stunt and flex on, on, on Scotty, I'd like to stunt on those
prayers we sent up for Ted Scott, they've been answered.
They haven't been answered in a minute.
Many of people are saying the pray for Ted Scott led to pay Ted Scott.
Exactly.
I, I think the speed, Shaffler comparison at first, I was like, where are we going with
that?
I think that's a really interesting question. Yes, and I think it's timing with
Totally like you said speed coming up when there's a little bit of a vacuum
I think there's a lot more like who's the guy right now? There's a lot more talent and I think
Shephler's a little bit more
He's he's reserved. He doesn't have the charisma and and that's no offense to him
It's just that speed when you ask Steve the question
and press conference at 2021,
he's ready to give you like a really, really thoughtful answer.
And then also I think at Augusta,
Steve had a dominance that I don't think,
Shephard, it never felt, even though
Steve was blown all over the yard,
it felt like he was in control.
Well, I think he also had the hype machine
before he showed up.
It was gonna say something like that.
The whole engine was warmed up, ready to go,
and then he did it.
He also had a close call at 20.
He was runner up to Bubba the year before he won.
Like, there was some build up there.
So I-
He's not win four.
I feel like he's a four time man.
I know, whereas Scott is-
He's the only one three.
Scott is also like, he's moving it off the tee.
Like, Spieth is is I would say Scotty has more
immense physical talents for sure both on and off the golf course obviously pick up basketball
baseball and stuff but like it's it's it's one of those things where I think I think you
look at Scotty and you're like like you know what like Scotty's got more of the mold of
almost a dust and Johnson like he looks like a freaking like you know what? Scotty's got more of the mold of almost a dust and Johnson.
Like he looks like a freaking, like,
I know he looks like he's 50, but he also looks like he's like
the guy that can stand in and throw a 50 yard spiral.
We've said that about speed a lot where like,
there's this faux relatability about him, right?
Where it's like, oh, that's what it looks like when I play.
I do relate to Scotty with the,
and a homegrown swing and and the way whales on it. Like he's like the guy that's like at the driving range.
Like I'm gonna honestly Scotty reminds me of you a lot.
Like you and this is a compliment for you and a compliment to Scotty.
Like you didn't play like in high school.
You didn't play basketball for three years,
and then the coach asked you to walk,
like come back to play basketball your senior year,
and you're in the starting lineup,
in like six to eight weeks,
and you're in your three-in-d guy,
and it's like, dude, like you're just a fucking athlete, right?
There's a natural thing with Scotty,
like he feels like a natural athlete,
and but,
speed felt like the golden boy.
Right, there's a difference there.
It's like the natural versus the chosen one or something.
And I wanna, I wanna, I need to go deep, bro.
Well, I think there's, I think you could have-
He's still like the captain of the team.
Yes.
And I think you could have the same,
and it's honestly among the more fascinating conversations,
but you have the same conversation with like,
why speed and not more color, why speak and not more, Kala,
why speak and not hovelin', why speak and not rom, right?
Like, it's interesting, but it's also like,
yo, I can't really describe it,
but some guys make you feel it,
and some guys don't, which almost kind of brings us
to Rory, right?
Where it's like, not anybody can...
It stops right there.
Nobody else can do what,
make people feel it, Rory made him feel today.
One other thing too is,
Speed made miles of putts.
Yeah, and there's something emotionally endearing
about making a ton of putts.
Maybe, yeah.
That you're not expected to make
and you kind of conjure up this underdog.
Scottie doesn't ever have long-gloves.
He almost makes it boring with the chip.
Yeah. Like nobody realized how like I go back to Thursday, he hit it over the green on 11.
And he had like, he was in jail and he gets up and down. Like he hit 40 yards over the
green on 11 and just made it look easy. Like, oh, I hit it to eight feet and made it an eight
footer, which is not, you're right. It's not magnetic. It's like, oh, and then you just kind of shrugged
and went on his way.
It was also a bad shirt today.
Like that's not a deer.
Although, I mean, that's the same thing with speed.
Like speed, like speed.
Yeah, the underarm stuff, like a six-year-old.
Yeah, that's not good either.

We picked four guys to make the cut.
We told you guys, we, all these guys are gonna make the cut.
They did.
We draft Kings boosted it and I hope some people got in on it
because I took some money.
I took some debt financing out a few weeks back.
I got some pouches to pay off here coming up.
It's not good.
It's not good.
I feel like, I feel like Randy may have some,
some collateralized debt obligation.
He does
Based on your stuff too. We got to get to this quote that Cody is piping in here at Kyle Porter tweeted this
Sheffler said he cried like a baby this morning because he was so stressed out she said he told his wife
He didn't think he was ready for the moment
Jesus that changes things. Whoa
There's probably the media center after that. That's why he had the left.
There was, again, whoa.
That's kind of what I'm saying is like,
that's what I'm saying about like panicking
about the final round of the master.
But then he hits it over the green on one
and he just knocks it to stone dead.
And it's like, that's fucking insane
to be able to do that.
Cry like a baby this morning.
That is another level of like,
like I don't get that sense from being a final group. I'm not like, oh man, this guy is out of his league. It doesn't,
it's not showing through. It's the duck on the lake. Yeah.
An analogy that we're hearing too much of lately. Patel and underneath like, I
guess what are you seeing? What a year for Highland Park. The underdog, the
scrappy underdog story. Matt Stafford.
Unreal.
You know what I am?
I'm flustered by that.
It's not what I felt like I just watched.
I felt like it was a coronation.
That's super interesting.
Cryed like a baby didn't think he was ready for the moment.
He even said that.
Who even respects the game so much?
He gave a couple back on the 18th green.
That was the first time.
Seriously.
He was technically not ready for that moment.
Yeah.
And his defense.
I don't need those.
I don't need those. You're gonna talk about Cam? I'd love to. Yeah, it is. I don't need does. I don't need does.
Just, you know, talk about Cam.
I'd love to.
Yeah, let's do it.
Although, I just want to say, like, if the corn fairy tour is in your area, like go watch it,
like go out to, we're in Savannah, you know, a couple of years ago, like, this was, I think, three years ago.
Scotty, like, was fighting to get his tour card three years ago. And he's like, in my opinion, he was one of the best players in the world.
And then he gets his tour card and he comes out and he keeps it.
And then he's, you know, he's winning four of the last six tournaments.
Like the guys playing out there, like, you're going to see some dudes.
They're going to win majors in the next five years if you go out to a corn fairy
event.
So there's plenty of people who shit on like the aq school was better
It was that's that's the pure test. No these guys like the sample size a big a year-long job interview
And like only the good ones get through, you know, it's like it's it's I'm with you. Yeah, it's awesome
like and and and they play like the the courses are getting better the
You know, they're like shit like in Wichita, if you live in Kansas City or
you know, Oakland or San Francisco, go out to Stoneright, like there's some cool spots. Just go watch this stuff because
like every couple of years a guy like Scotty Schuffler comes through and it's it's worth saying yeah
I saw that guy before he has PGA tour card. Same with like Zalatoris who spent a good amount of time on the corn fairy tour.
And usually the guys that are gonna make it
kind of stick out a little bit.
And there's not that, like, you know,
like even a guy like Xalatoris,
before he, before he, you know, basically had non-member
earnings to get his card, like he still had to,
he was still on the corn fairy tour.
Gotta go earn it.
He's getting shit up there.
So, you know, I was to turn it over to Cam,
but I think we need to talk about the runner up in this event.
That's one Rod Rigo, Mackle Roy.
They love you, big man.
I'm not going to accept any Roy Blasting tonight.
I will not accept it.
Roy fucking rock.
He killed him.
He sure shot you.
You were a day.
Come on.
Doing the same peer thing again.
You were out to race.
Doing it last night.
Like, I'm not, I don't want to talk about Rory last night.
No, that's bullshit.
That's not clearly not listening.
That's not Rory.
I defended Rory last night.
No, Rory was, he left him out there and round one.
He battled back.
You can't say you don't want to talk about him because he's going to let you down.
And now you want to talk about him because he didn't let me down.
He didn't let me down.
Exactly.
I don't know.
You're picking and choosing.
Round one, I was disappointed.
And then round two, I said, you know what, he battled today.
Round two.
Round two.
It could have been the thing that where he just
uninspiredly misses the cut or is toiling away
in 50-50.
So you shot what?
72, 72, 73, 73, 73, 63, 65.
I have no idea what he shot, based on what you got to say. 73, 73, 71, 65. No idea what he shot, based on what you got to say. 73, 73, 71, 64.
Best score of the day by three shots today.
I mean, it was electric.
He left a couple out there, which is gonna happen.
It was funny how people got, people got it.
That's just intense.
People got on him immediately of like,
oh, this is so typical right,
I'm not birdie 15.
Like dude, the guy fucking shot 64 today.
Exactly.
He almost birdie 15 too.
That was a pretty good putt from the French.
It was.
And again, I'm not trying to stoke the flames.
I thought that's a fascinating wed shot
with like when you have to make a birdie,
that was a dividing line wed shot.
And he didn't hit it, right?
He was really freaking close.
That was close.
He thought he was gonna spin it off his friend.
Where that pin is, you have to go past the pin,
but you can't go over it.
The first bounce has to be great.
He had a horrible drive, so you had to hit that wedge shot.
And that's cool.
It was cool to see that he got punished for a bad drive.
That was fun.
I agree.
Are you being serious or not?
Yeah, you're looking at me like you're dunking at me,
but I agree with you.
I'm saying, but if if you had a good drive,
you probably would have hit the same shot.
That was my point.
Okay, that's a horrible thing.
No, because every-
Let's move on now.
No, we're sticking on, we're sticking on Roy for now.
It's such a bad faith argument.
It was, that was not your best, you know.
Well, let's rest our case, we'll come back in.
Like that whole plate, that's not-
Let's not-
I agree.
It was nice today.
It was nice today. Thank you. Oh, imagine that. There wasn't an atypical 20 mile an hour wind blowing That's not typically today. I agree. It was nice today. It was nice today. Thank you.
Oh, imagine that. There wasn't an
atypical 20 mile an hour wind
blowing out of the west today. You
tried to this man tried to argue
that it was that 15 was playing. He
was enjoying the way 15 was
playing up until. There was a variety.
Right. Okay. Back to Rory.
What kind of lease on life does
this give us in terms of if
Rory goes 15 years, 15 years of
If Rory goes out in 29, so fucking in man, gotta felt so full me one alive,
fully twice, fully 15 times, I'm, I'm done guys, I'm done. That's not true. I was there for the ride today. It was,
it was incredible. It was, it was, it was, it was. It was sick. No, I'm weighing on Rory. Can I take me with you? So we rented. We had the gym. We had the we're obviously
here in Scotland. We've mentioned a couple times, but if you're this is your first time
listening this week, he was the needle. We had the the jigger into ourselves. We have a
group of 36 guys, nest members, listeners and gals all over here for a Scotland trip.
We had the the whole jigger in to ourselves.
You wanna hear what it sounds like
when Rory makes an eagle on Sunday.
I'm a jigger!
Ah!
There's good stuff.
Nobody else gets that, man.
Nobody gets that.
Except the cat.
Except the cat.
The cat would have gotten that.
Maybe spieth.
End spieth.
Yeah.
It was, I don't mean to turn this in speed yeah it uh... it was kind of
i don't mean to turn this in hamster and it was kind of frustrating to follow because
everyone that was watching feature groups was tweeting all about everything because cb
has just lost track of rory somehow even after he had identified himself as a as a contender
in the tournament i think it it's fair to say look was it very i think the most his uh...
uh... probability of winning got up to today was 5% not a lot.
Listen, of course, but it was like point one.
It was like point one percent when the day started.
So for him to say also after that was the most fun he's ever had.
Direct quote.
Yeah.
That's the most fun I've had on the golf course, which is we all have a little.
Sure.
We have a tendency to have a walk off a golf course after a great day and be like that's the most fun
I've ever had I know I've done it. I'll probably do it on this trip
But like that's inspiring to hear from from that guy and I'm wondering does it change whether I don't know
What you guys thought before is we're gonna win a master's but does today change any of that?
I think he wins a matter how old is right now 34
33 33 maybe yeah, 33, 3, 3, 2, 3, 2, yeah.
I think he wins one. Yes, 100%.
It weirdly does change my mind.
And I know this is over, you know,
I said I wasn't gonna do the recency bias thing,
but I am desperate, desperate, desperate
that he felt that feeling today
and was just like, oh, that's fucking me.
That's who I am, man.
I need to be that guy.
It's Sergio.
It's Sergio.
It's just, it's gonna torture him for be that guy. It's a whole lot of co-vines.
It's just, it's gonna torture him for a while
and then he's gonna get one.
It's gonna be, it's all context.
Like that's why everyone's cheering so loud for him
in the bar because there's scar tissue.
It's awesome and then he's gonna fucking come through.
It's gonna be, I gotta fear.
I'm gonna be there for it.
I gotta theory though, Dej.
I think the cycle that he kinda goes through at Augusta
is pretty similar to like what happened at Berkdale,
when JP was basically like,
what are you doing?
What the fuck are you doing?
You're Roy fucking Mackle Roy.
And today he woke up and decided to be Roy fucking Mackle.
He carried himself with a whole different swagger.
He was bouncing.
You could see the iron shots he was hitting.
It was not trying to guide anything.
He's like, I'm gonna mash on this shot right now,
and I'm gonna go make a birdie.
And I think he can walk out today and have that feeling,
and then like a year is gonna go by again.
So tall.
So tall.
And he's gonna want it even more next year,
and when you come out, it's so hard to do what he did today
on a Thursday, and that's like his problem.
And he doesn't get off the bus,
and until he figures out a way to address that,
I think we're gonna be due for, we're to need it to happen in a way like this.
Dejue, who said to Monti, so they fucking love you big man?
I don't remember, that's a long story.
It's like, it's like, Rory needs like a pep talk before every round, so we just hit him in the face and
say... Maybe just show him that clip. Show him the bad awkward whipping the club
with out of the bunker.
And it's kind of what you were saying about 2014.
Just show him Valhalla, man.
Just show him.
Somebody time down the chair and make him watch him
from 2012 to 2014.
2012.
Like Roy needs to be more than our sisters.
You were the kid.
You could, that's you right there.
Just be that guy. and wear those pattern shirts
where the sleeves are different colors.
That's what you need to be doing.
Solid question for you.
I also, can I get one more theory in for one second?
You know when Tiger to have the chip in on 16
and the high five was Stevie and how bad it was
and it made him make two bogies after it.
I'm worried about him starting bogie bogie next year
because that celebration out of that bunker is like like it looked like somebody that had never celebrated
before. It's really interesting. I don't know what that club throw was. He was just over
club. It was all just like, oh, it was authentic. And then he made a hairy rake even more
of the bunker. I was worried Scotty was going to hit it right where the where the club
hit in the bunker. Uh, sorry. Like do you think so, you know, like in granted, you probably haven't diagnosed this yet, but, but from, you know, Rory's round one round to this year or in previous years, is it, is it too much patience?
Is it too much, is it too deliberate? Is he, is I don't feel like he's going after pins and all that? Like what's the, I think it's from a strategy perspective, is he laying back too much
and not being himself? I don't think it's strategy as much as it is. This is a different, this
is a different golf tournament today than the previous three days. And this suits him. This is great,
this is pin your ears back and go. And this is a different golf tournament than the other three
majors as well. Yes. And this golf course required the beginning days,
especially days one and two this year,
require a different level of precision
to get to the harder pins.
The pins were just easier today, right?
So some funnel pins, if you will.
It's not an easy golf course today,
but you can get away with not being less than precise.
I just don't trust Rory to hit an eight iron
to the top right shelf of the sixth green consistently. And know, and constantly get it in the right spots on the more difficult pins.
When the pins are easy, I can picture it.
That's kind of why we do this every year.
Like, I can see it if he gets an eagle on two, three is gettable.
Four is not that difficult.
You can get kind of running downhill and that's what works for him.
He's a microwave man.
I don't know if he heats up.
You're like, oh man. He's like JR Smith. He truly, truly. It's great. And that. I just microwave, man. I give you heat up, you're like, oh man.
He's like JR Smith, truly, truly.
It's great.
And that's why it's so exciting.
Big fan, Axel, some way in on that.
Which I, this is, I totally have big take and thought here,
but I just, in my head, when like,
where he's got to go do like a five and a half hour
threesome, I just don't think that works for him.
Like when he can get out and run like he did today,
a Tussum's is just a different style of golf.
I feel like he's less time sitting around thinking.
It's just less methodical and it just goes.
Shout out to the PGL.
One thing, I think that like one of these years,
it's gonna be monsoon.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and it's gonna be soaked.
Kind of like expectations are gonna be too big.
But then, you're gonna get the right draw. It's gonna be soaked. Kind of expectations are gonna be too big. But then, he's gonna get the right draw.
It's gonna clear up and the courses,
they're gonna do like, you know,
lift clean up place or something
and it's gonna clear up and like,
he's not gonna have to be a mutter,
but the course is gonna be long and soft and all that
and he's gonna feed and he's gonna win.
I think he said it's his best score.
I don't know if he meant today or if he meant for the week.
Best round ever to masters.
He's never shot 64.
He's won off the course record today.
We gotta talk about this now though.
The shot for the US viewers is very obvious what happens.
Kim Smith is doing aim point on the 13th green
and CBS is not showing.
Rory who was already in second place at the time, finished out on 18.
They showed him on delay, basically, all day.
A enormous roar comes, just burrowing down the hill.
It is very obvious in that corner as to what just happened and found out just because,
well, I don't want to spoil anything here, but something incredible has just happened.
Like literally the only way you can spoil it
is by saying that exact thing.
And then, like, Nance doesn't know what to do.
So finally, they go run over to it,
and like, they've just given away what happens.
And it was just totally bungled.
It was horrible.
It was so nice watching Sky.
And I know it's largely the same shots,
but watching Sky with no sound.
It was a treat.
And even like,
because I was getting ready to dapp up CBS
until I heard all this,
because I'm like,
the pictures were so freaking good.
Yeah.
That drone shot left of 13 was awesome.
Like they kept showing that kind of up the creek
and I'd never seen that angle before.
There was just so many cool shots that,
that like they did such a good job subjectively this year
with all the angles and different looks at the course
and the drones and I feel like they had
20 Venice cams out there.
The imagery is incredible.
Yeah, and then, you know, and then shout out to Sky2,
like Nick Dirty and Butch and Radar and Rich Beam.
It's so freaking good.
Yeah.
Yeah, this was not as much.
I mean, business idea for Masters.com,
if they want to make a premium channel,
I would pay for a kind of a live view of Nance and Fowdo,
like behind them to see Fowdo.
Just like say that and stop talking.
And Nance, dude, stop talking.
Stop talking.
Blue it.
You're a chap, you're not a bloke, okay.
You stink.
I mean, this was a, how would Nance react to that?
Man.
This was not a golf Twitter thing today.
This was circulating in like normal sports Twitter today,
how bad CBS kind of bangles.
Which we've been all over them for incredible improvements.
They've made regular events at PGA tour events.
And it's just felt like they kind of dropped the ball today
on Masters.
It feels like it's tougher at the Masters
to give these moments their proper space
and also feel like you have a cadence to the broadcast, right?
Cody, any thoughts here?
No, I just want to give a quick shout out again
to the Masters, the best content team in the game.
Excuse me, I wasn't talking over here for a long time.
That's the best content team in the game,
the best internet, the best social follows,
and it's amazing to sit there and watch
what they produce themselves to include all the live
featured stuff versus what
their partner puts out.
It's crazy.
You want to add on top of that, I know Doddy probably got her fours crossed, but horrible
clubbing there on Sheffler.
I couldn't believe that she called Nine Iron there when it clearly wasn't going to be
the four.
I think that was a visual, yeah.
So, for people that don't know when you're the caddy flashes a sign at a spotter and if you go four down,
would be nine iron and four up would be four iron.
And either she crossed it or the caddy may have crossed it
as well.
It might not have been her fault,
but they were teeing it up as in,
you know, he's trying to lay it up in a good spot.
And so they didn't know that he was,
they also didn't know Sheffler was laying up on 13.
They thought he was going for it on 13,
and it was very obvious he was holding a shorter iron
and was not gonna be going for it.
So both of those shots,
so I'm with two of the most important shots of the tournament.
While the ball's in the air, I'm like,
wait, is he doing what they said he's doing or not?
And that's just inexcusable really.
It's, you can't drop the ball like that
in the biggest tournament of the year.
And I know I didn't even hear it because I think I don't listen to when Fowdo talks,
but he said something. There's something about shooting stars and something on 18 instead of his,
you know, welcome to the new age. It was, uh, here comes a little sausage himself walking up the
fairway. It was tough. All the bots are back, Cody. Bots are back. I know. Not good. Can we talk about Cam? Yeah. I think he deserves
both some criticism and some praise. I think there's a there's a yeah. Like you said, it's
it's positive and negative. I think let's start with the negative because I think there's
a lot of positive to take away from this. I think negatively like there's a trend here
of you know, Memphis. Even sawgrass of of, you know, like, hey, man,
like you made that, like, your aggressive play won it for you,
but it also, like, some of that aggressive play wasn't necessary
because you put yourself in really shitty spot,
like on 18 or on, you know, on 17,
and he's definitely put the left miss in play.
Big time.
At times, but I think that was the thing
that kind of crushed me today was,
the left miss kind of,
like the left that sweeping draw
they like to play kind of abandoned him
in the biggest spots on 12, for instance,
which playing a draw in there seems kind of tough
in and of itself,
but then, you know, trying to draw it on 13 and it, you know, hangs it out to the right.
There was a few of those today. Nine, for instance, you know, it was just, it was,
it was one of those things where it's like, I worry that he was pressing the pedal,
I know he's chasing and everything and it's like you have one or two mentalities
but I wish there was like a first gear for chasing
and a second gear for chasing
and sometimes you need to be in that first gear
and because it felt like he was pressing a little bit too hard
and it's like man, like two shots, three shots
isn't crazy, like that's a two shot swing on one hole.
I will defend going at the pen on 12. I think he made a bad swing. It's just a bad swing. I think he made a decision
He birdies 11, which is very unlikely and savage bird. He's three back with seven holes to play in Scotty playing well
So like you're not if you want to win you go win it
You you got to stuff it on that shot and that it's a it's a test
And if he failed the test, but like he made a decision of like,
you know, a bogey, a par,
and a bogey might mean the same thing here
and a triple might mean the same thing here.
And I need a two.
I need a two to put some pressure on him.
Because if he stuffs that,
then Scottie's got to hit the shot.
And you know, now it's really essentially a two shot lead.
That changes Scottie shot a lot.
And that is his best chance to win the golf tournament.
And he didn't execute
that one. So I'll defend that, but he was sloppy. I just never seen him get like that,
just but hurt honestly. He was just, he was kind of club, near club slamming just frustrated.
I didn't think it was, I thought it was passion. I kind of was like, I was, I was, I was
kind of boiled over, yeah, yeah, he boiled over because he wanted it so bad. And I know
what you mean by like, sulking though a little bit
It's not like really host so it wasn't though. It wasn't like
It was like angry. It wasn't
Butter was the wrong word for me angry and it's like no, don't do that
But I'm also like I feel you dog. I I just like want to call out though. He started birdie birdie
He's one shot back the birdie, birdie.
He's one shot back.
It's a birdie on one, right?
I mean, dude, it was just like,
it was, yeah.
The start was, it was a dream start,
and we get to three and he hits a bad tee shot.
Even on just,
Flips, man, and it's like, God, are you kidding me?
Like, it was almost too good to be true.
That's how I felt on three.
I was like, man, this is going really, really well.
But two is a perfect example of that razor's edge
where he still made birdie.
He put it in that front bunker and got up and down.
But even there, like he is, he's going for it, man.
Like he's not, he's not playing the slope
all up and down the left.
Like he was on two or on four, even.
Like that shot was right at the flag.
That was six inches short of being like almost in the hole.
And I think it's like.
I'm attracted to that kind of goal.
Like I like he's putting his chips on the fucking table.
Yes.
And I think it's important context to realize also that,
you know, less than a month ago,
he won the biggest person golf history
by firing right at the flag.
Yes.
On the most famous like part three in golf.
So when you step up to 12, I get how in the back of his mind,
it's like, yeah, I think I'm just gonna do that again.
Like you're gonna lose some, you're gonna win some,
you're gonna lose some playing like that,
but you're like, you're gonna gain my respect bottom line.
And it's also, if you wanna get close to the pin on 12,
it's a different shot than the right pin on 17 TPC,
because like if you aim, kinda center
and try to fade it back there, that's not the shot.
Like if you want to get it close,
you got to like draw one in there.
And you can over cook it.
That's why no one does that.
And if you ever cook it, you're in the back bunker
and you're kind of screwed.
And if it doesn't draw, you're in the water.
But like that's the, I would say that's the best chance
of getting one close rather than like cutting one back there.
But I mean, you rarely rarely rarely see right handers.
Stuff one back.
He's full send, you know, which I respect that.
He's just even just it's just a
triple.
It was a bit of when keeping it real goes wrong.
Yeah, a little bit.
Yeah, even to triple 12, you know,
left the short on 13.
I'm like, oh shit, like that's that's going to be tough
down 13.
And then like even on 10, he hits it into the woods.
Horrible T-Shot.
He struggled off the tee.
He chips it out.
And then, I mean, he struggled off the tee
down the stretch at the players too, right?
Like it was negative.69 strokes gain off the tee
this whole for the event.
He lost the tournament on the tee.
The more short grass they put in around here,
probably the better for him too.
It'll, it'll, but, but like on 10, he missed the putt,
but he's, you know, 100 yards out,
hits the wedge shot to like five feet
and it was a diabolical slider down the hill,
but even just to do that, like that,
like immense stones to almost get up and down for par
on 10 from, and then birdie 11,
he triples 12 and you're kind of, and he's par on 10 from, and then birdie 11, he triples 12
and you're kind of, and he's furious on 13, bogus 14.
And he comes back and like, I respect the shit out of him.
Birdie 15, birdie 16, par 17, par 18.
And like, like he didn't shut it down.
He didn't collapse.
He fought till the end.
He fought for that top five.
He's a fucking dog, man.
And like, he didn't win and I'm bummed about it, but I like I don't like he he pushed his
chips in.
He went for the win on 12 and he didn't get it done.
He's raised his floor so much like he's I felt like he's really struggled today and he
finished T three.
The masters like it felt like he had a career tournament to finish T two with DJ one.
And this feels like he kind of kind of not spit the bit, but didn't have his best stuff to to finish this one and finish T2 with DJ1. And this feels like he kind of,
kind of not spit the bit,
but didn't have his best stuff to finish this
when I finished T3.
He's like 70.
Yeah, you know, you're like,
oh, now look out.
Like, he's coming back next year.
That's one of my favorite things about the masters,
obviously too, is like,
I love that he's now in that kind of current day
pantheon of like, oh man, Augusta,
you gotta watch this guy, this guy,
and this guy, and Cam Smith,
Cam always plays well with it.
Top of that list.
He shot 73 today with a triple,
and it feels like a massive, massive failure.
And it couldn't hit driver,
and the Holy Triple was not a driver hole.
Yeah.
And I think he's the kind of guy
where this is gonna burn him, man.
Like he's gonna, he's gonna,
like he works his ass off anyway,
and this is gonna go back, this is more fuel in the fire.
I know we have two more majors before it,
and I know my eye keeps drifting out the window here.
And it's, it's literally looking at the road,
literally looking at the road hole right now,
but holy fuck, I can't wait for the open this year.
It's gonna be incredible.
Like just watching this, like, yo,
give me Sheffler, Rory, and Cam again.
And Cat at the open. And the Cat. The Cat, Rory and Cam again. And Cat at the open and the cat.
The cat, the cat's gonna win.
And listen Southern Hills and Brooklyn
are gonna be awesome as well but.
No offense to anyone.
I think those, their skill sets and Lowry also, right?
And Moorakawa and Zalatoris like dude,
that was, that was a really good golf tournament
and we got a lot of good ones still left on the counter
this year.
Yeah, Sally shout out to you for the gallery.
Well done, well done.
Fair play, Sally, fair play.
Well, I think you,
why wasn't the top Irish?
I don't want, I don't want you to thank me for that or shout me out.
I want you guys to either apologize or think the stats,
the data golf, just the strokes gained.
I want you to apologize to strokes gained,
or shout out to strokes gained.
I'm in on the strokes gained. I want you to apologize to strokes gained or shout out to strokes gained. I'm in on the strokes game. I borrow your password every week. Yeah, me too. Yeah, he was,
he, I feel like he in a different world, he could have won this golf tournament this week.
He played some, he said he's played some of the best golf of his life this week and he's been
playing really, really good. And he is a major champion and it would make sense if he won another one. I think Brookline is going to be really good course for him.
Yeah.
More a cow, sneaky solo fifth with 500 par 67 today.
Do you want to talk about?
Let's, can we talk about the cat actually first?
Of course.
I feel like we need to address the cat.
The cat did exactly what I told you guys the cat was going to do.
Made the cut.
He stumbled on Saturday,
ran out of gas, but it was a massive W.
It was, I guess a little unexpected.
You're right, you told us that.
You told us that.
You're absolutely right.
He walk it up.
Again, I can't tell if you're taking the piss out of me.
I think that one is taking the piss.
I am taking the piss out of you. Walking I think that one is taking the piss. I am taking the piss out of you.
Walking off 18 green, shooting 78, 78 on the weekend
in the blood red shirt and the Venice came following him.
And the big-ass smile on his face was just like,
pretty cool.
Dude, yeah, I mean, yeah, I know he struggled,
but you can lose track for a second, but like,
for what he has described,
and when he did that interview with Henny at Golf Digest, about
what is recovery process has been like and how much he misses the feeling of a well-struck
shot.
I would go lay outside in the grass just because I was so bored and missing all the things
that I always took for granted.
For him to walk off having competed 72 holes and make it to the weekend and be a hell of
a lot of professionals this past week, you could it like really meant something just for him personally to
be back in that environment with his family there.
And that was a cool moment.
I really do.
And it was, I was uncomfortable watching him play golf and walk around and hobble like
that.
And I don't know how sustainable that all is, but like, took a couple screenshots today of
just, you know, him wearing the red walking around because truly don't know if we'll ever see that again.
There's absolutely no guarantee that we'll see him play another weekend.
Again, like I think he's, hey, it goes to show you like just how talented he is.
Like he was on, you know, maybe 15% of his capacity.
And also like how fucking soft some of these other guys are.
And then be like, like, I mean, like Tiger should never,
ever like talk to Jason Day, ever again.
Like he should just like Jason,
to meet him, right?
But also like he's gonna win at St. Andrews.
It would be sick.
Wood watch for sure.
I will for sure,
tap you up if that happens.
I will not hesitate.
And it'll be like, like if Tiger wins at St. Andrews,
it'll be the single, like coolest sporting moment of all time.
It'll make the masters, like the last masters
anyone, what, 2019?
Like that'll make that look like minor league shit.
I do worry about the putting.
It is very much not good.
And I don't think I would,
I would, if I would expect him to put better at Augusta relative
to the field than I would somewhere like links.
On the weekend it was bad.
Yeah.
First couple rounds it was fine.
On the flip side though,
I have to imagine he's on so many anti-inflicted worries
and panpils and all sorts of stuff that like,
like I just hope he can,
like he's been in the cauldron here
and I hope he can kind of wean himself off of that
and get back to normal life for the next eight weeks
to 10 weeks.
Good question here from Colin Lamar,
over under Tiger tournament appearances in 2022, 2.5.
That's a great question.
Does the hero count?
Yeah, I know it depends on what I'm like,
I'm gonna go see, I'm gonna go see.
I'm gonna go see.
Cause like, that's, you walk. I think it sets up well at all points.
It just sounds like miserable.
I don't think Brooklyn sets up, it's a hard walk.
I don't think Brooklyn sets up, it's a hard walk.
I don't think Brooklyn sets up, it's a hard walk.
I don't think Brooklyn sets up, it's a hard walk.
I don't think Brooklyn sets up, it's a hard walk.
I don't think Brooklyn sets up, it's a hard walk.
I don't think Brooklyn sets up, it's a hard walk. I don't think Brooklyn sets up, it's a hard walk. I don't think Brooklyn sets up mean, he won seven hills in a different golfer in two days.
I don't think Brooklyn sets up, it's a hard walk.
I don't think it sets up well at all.
It just sounds like miserable weeks for him.
Yeah.
I would, I would, I'd be rooting for him just to show up here in July.
Like, let's just, let's focus on that one.
Let's try to peak there.
I think it's going to be shocking, at least to him, like how, and maybe not, maybe he
knows exactly what he's getting himself into,
but like, the next six weeks he's not gonna be able
to leave the couch.
He's gonna play so much Call of Duty.
What'd you like to debut your Morra Cali-Tex?
No, no, no, no, not at all.
It's just something I was confiding in you guys.
I'm not ready to make any kind of pronouncement
about-
I'm not ready to take a stand.
About this at all,
but I'm watching some YouTube videos.
I'm kind of almost,
I'm open to being radicalized by-
You're doing some research?
Yeah, I'm doing some research.
I'm open to being radicalized by the,
more how is a trackman golfer takes.
I just win, lays down. he goes out and shoots 67.
Conditions are up, he's kind of nowhere to be found.
So watch this space, again, I'm not saying that.
I'm not saying that, I'm open to hearing more about it.
Do you think the open championship win was a false flag?
No, I would never say that.
I don't think it was a little Little champion. It was a little less wind than usual or the condition was a little bit like a fall mass
Edition's down. I don't know. It's interesting. It's interesting. You go back and watch those highlights
There was not wind at that tournament and it's a very aerial course more so that then a lot of the other links courses
It were accustomed to
Zalator is such a stupid, but I have open to it.
I don't think that's stupid.
I think that I would be curious to see
what the numbers kind of net out on that.
What I take on a golf course that's just fire away
and do whatever you want all week.
When I take Zalator's or Lowry, I would take,
I'm sorry, would I take more of Kawa or Lowry?
I'd take more of Kawa.
If you put them on blustery conditions right out of the wall. I would take Lowry. Yeah, would I take more a cow or a lorry? I'd take more a cow or if you like put them on blustery conditions right out of the wall.
I would take lorry.
Yeah, so that's an interesting thought.
Zalatorus back at it.
He's gonna knock off one of the,
I was gonna say if I have for head.
Speaking of the guys that are gonna be on that list next year
coming down Magnolia land.
And another guy we need to add to that list is SungJ.
Can I take,
I think we're coming back.
SungJ, no, I'll, I'll, SungJ, like put himself in a great spot.
At no point yesterday or today, like, we didn't even talk
about him on the show last night, because at no point today,
would I ever feel like he was gonna make a putt?
True.
Can I make a comparison though on 10 when Cam missed
that slider down the hill? I thought a 100% he was going
to make that. And if he put Will's out torsion that spot, I would thought the exact opposite.
And so until that until I feel differently about that, I may not get as excited.
Salatours is so good though. Yeah. Is ball striking. It's, you know, the problem with
all torsion is you have to keep him outside of that six foot range.
Like if it's a 10 foot, he's absolutely making it.
So then he's a full time.
He's like trying to get.
He's trying to get pully's all.
Oh, dude.
I don't want to talk about that.
The jigger, Rory won so many dots for that for that birdie on 18.
Somebody probably, Paulie Ratler, somebody by hammered.
Like the exact hammer take,
yeah, I'm calling hammered, I'm sure.
I'm hammered, I'm calling.
But then calling chips in as well.
So that's a, yeah, it's very interesting.
I don't want to alarm anyone.
Yeah, I'm hammered.
Zalatoris was sixth in Stroke's Game Pudding
of Everybody that made the cut this week.
That's alarming.
Yeah.
I do think there's a certain thing about Augusta with him.
Greens are speedy, glassy.
That's a bad putter myself.
Shorter your stroke is, easier it is to get the ball in line.
I would like to implement Randy's eye test.
The outsource button is not passing my eye test.
You guys were all pumped up about Corey Conner's
finishing in the top 12.
Three in a row.
T6.
I don't think we're worried about Corey Conner's
getting back to the Masters you have to
you're like Corey Conner seems to be turning into like a top 25.
Yeah, I'm sure we played 100% his last three years at the Masters T10 T8 T6.
What's his world ranking?
Hold.
I.
At this point it's got to be top 20.
Hold please.
We got to talk about JT next.
JT.
Let's do that. We can do that. Quarrel was 32, I believe, going into this.
Right, so he's going to be up in the mid, you know, high 20s.
High 20s.
And we got the Canadian LLF.
I don't know if we can come on up.
He can't be lower than that.
Again, another guy, Flore.
Oh, that's right.
Flore is high.
Yeah.
All striker.
He's broken through.
It's not a total phenal situation. JT. Oh, that's right. Floors high. Yeah. All striking. He's broken through. It's not it's not a total. Yeah.
Fienale situation. JT. JT. T8 minus one all over the map today.
Some good stuff to take away from this week. I think I think some bad stuff to take away
that Thursday round was not good.
It's all a roaring 72 72 on the weekend. How do you feel about that, Sully? I mean, it would be different if it was,
like, kind of,
punting himself out of it and came back into it.
I don't know how to say it,
but he kind of like,
when I'm got it and then fell back,
when I'm got it, then fell back.
I don't really have a,
I didn't get a great rhythm watching him play golf
this week of understanding what was good
and what really wasn't.
So I can't really apply, and he didn't feel like great rhythm watching him play golf this week of understanding what was good and what really wasn't. So I can't really apply.
And he didn't feel like he was ever a threat to,
yesterday I did for a little while.
I feel like he was a threat, but at no point today
did it feel like he was a threat,
but I don't have a big take on this.
I'll say I like the pants today.
I appreciate you riding for the pants.
It was a bold play.
I like to play a bold little one.
You have to.
Yeah.
I just got a text from a Tori-Catti.
He said, the big question that he's asking, perhaps nobody else is asking this.
Does Scottie honor his commitment to Mr. Palmer in two weeks to play the Zurich?
Whoa.
Potentially against, you know, other luminaries such as Lee Shinkam. Sure.
Art Morkow and Hovlin playing together. They are. That's, that's terrifying.
They might be odds on favorites. Seems like a pretty good team.
We had some comments in here and I'm just now finding these quotes here from Tyrl Hatton.
It's been interesting comments after the round. Shout out to Neil, great,
great call that he was going to be finished at last, finished the
NFL of those that made the cut.
It sounded like he and he and Lord, he and William, William, not only did he finish last
year, he made some theatrics, the theater.
What would he say?
You know, the question was the last, the last round last year was 68.
You signed off okay, this year you seem to be making progress. Joe
hadn't, yeah, but you can hit good shots here and knock at any reward for it. It's unfair
at times. I don't agree with that. If you had a good shot, you should end up near the
hole, then not shortsighted into a bunker because of the slopes they've created and stuff.
Yeah, I don't think it's a fair test at times. And when you hit good shots and you're not
reward for it, it shows. Next question, does it increase the frustration level more
than any or is it because it's also a major tierl?
He said, I think it's how the course is set up in general.
You don't really have to make to miss a shot.
And your next one, you'll, you're really struggling to make
par with how it runs off the greens and the slopes
and you're chipping into and how it obviously it's cut.
It's just really hard to even get chip shots close.
I think everything is exaggerated here.
For sure. I think Scotty would totally agree sure. I think yeah, that's just impossible.
The only thing that separated Tyrell and Scotty this week was the bounces.
It's always good to play horrible and then blame Dr. McKenzie and blame the, you know,
what many people are calling the biggest tournament in the world as a set up.
That's good. As always, I'll,, please, players, continue to speak your mind.
I love hearing stuff like that,
but also we'll continue to say,
like, yeah, that doesn't really make a lot of sense.
Can we ask him for, I would like Tim to show his work.
Yeah.
Can you provide some big examples around?
It's, yeah, gosh, if you finished dead last,
you just walk off and you gotta turn the camera inward
and just be like, yeah, that was probably on me. Like I, Carol, if you finished dead last, you just walk off and you gotta turn the camera inward and just dick, yeah, that was probably on me. Like I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, showed up. You know, well, it's fine. You got to tip your cap at least. Did you guys see any shots from him?
I did not.
I did not see them until I got them.
I want not one shot.
Harry Higgs finishes two shots out, one shot out,
one shot out of getting it in, back to the masters.
Let's just go, we'll go earn another way.
They're great.
We're totally fine.
We're gonna get there.
Guys Dustin disappointing weekend for Dustin. Yeah.. We're totally fine. We're going to get there. Guys, Dustin, disappointing
weekend for Dustin. Yeah. Yeah. Upsetting. Sorry. I apologize on our behalf. It's big.
Was this just the sky feed or was this just I'm just going on a leader. We're here. Did
we see way too much Danny Willet and his Danny Willet kind of like a keegan with those
the season zone. Yeah. She's her top. Gregis. That's actually a good comp.
That is a very good comp.
That is a very good comp.
The British eager.
One major kind of a cont.
T.C., I'm here for that.
A keegan comparison is very, very solid.
Fleetwood T-14.
How about it?
Okay.
Sign of life.
Signs of pulse.
Westwood T-14.
Yeah, I got to give a big shout out to Westwood, man.
I did not see that coming.
Went out and even moved up the board further today.
Yeah, 70 wide.
He's probably gonna trip drill build tonight.
For sure.
Very much though.
Big shot, Bob.
Would you like to celebrate that?
I don't even think I need to celebrate that.
He was, he's not a Ranger fan.
Yeah, again, I apologize for that last night. We got bad intel from the glass. Yeah, but which, my caddy was from Glasgow and he says
he is a Rangers fan. Oh, I have to have Bob weigh in on this. Yeah, I guess.
We've got Bob. If you're list, it's such a device issue, I guess that Bob doesn't even
want to wait into this. There's also, you know, all sorts of religious, political, just all sorts of
ramifications here. As Americans, we can't even get rid of them. Yeah.
Sure. Taylor Gouche. Great.
He used to play great, great golf. Yeah. Anything else you guys have from, from a, a
shamed hour made the cut. Yeah, got to mention that.
I just think that TIO relief is a disgrace.
And the Fijiator, the ruling body should look at the rule.
They should adjust it.
They should factor in some nuance.
And I don't think the pros should get a free drop
when they hit a horrible shot.
So here, here, I, we were texting our friend,
Jed on the text thread.
He's been deep on this block for a while.
SFI, Billy Horseshoe is Patrick Bateman from American Psycho.
That's, like they look alike, they act alike.
They have similar sociopathic tendencies,
the intensity level, all of that.
All those, all those just like every time I see Billy,
it's just like this.
He's wound up.
Yeah, and it's like, you know, Patrick Bayman, like.
He is wound tight.
But I got the same skincare routine.
Cody, anything else we are missing from the year's first major has we put it to rest.
No, a lot of talk.
Everybody amped up excited about ROM leading in. Probably my biggest disappointment
of the week. I don't know if you guys have any extra thoughts on that, just clearly not
feeling it. I think a lot of people want you guys to dig in comparing Skyverse CBS again.
I think we did a pretty good job covering it in a little mini hamster damn section. And besides that,
just a lot of people begging for some more 15 talk from Cerniel over there. No Eagles for
the week. We can revisit. We can revisit 15 now. Can I say on the wrong. On the wrong
thing. That's kind of what's keeping me from getting way out over my skis on Scotty, right?
Is he watching the last like six weeks, six months even?
It's fleeting.
And you're like, this is gonna last forever.
This guy chips at great.
He drives at great.
He puts it great.
Like this is gonna be forever.
He's always gonna be number one.
And it's like, we said all the same shit about Rom.
And I'm, I think finally we're starting to.
Also.
To chill a little bit.
And I hope it lasts for Scotty.
I hope it's so much more
fun and golf when I think anyways when one guy is top dog for a year, two years, three
years, four years, five years, but that's not normal. So rare for that to happen. So Scotty
go get it while you got it. Smash the glass. Grab as much as you possibly can. And I get
and but I think roms's gonna come back or I think
or I think ROM's about to come back with a vengeance.
I think so too.
I think I count out ROM true.
ROM playing with cat today, I think was huge for him.
And see and cat open up and talk that much about it.
Did Cat give him some advice finally?
Maybe some person was good.
That was good leading into the week.
JTS him. Yeah., gives him a whole dissertation.
He's a dissertation, it's like, man,
you know the word dissertation.
I would even pull that out of my book, I believe.
Ron's got such a good book, I know, it's incredible.
He's the one who said he pledged his field.
This second language, his pledge is,
he's pulling dissertation out and press conference.
Pleasure, he's guilty.
Cody, question for you, did they show on CBS
the, it's filthy.
The embrace between butch and Tiger?
Yes, they did.
Oh, they did.
Okay, that was cool.
That was cool to see, like, you know,
which listening to Butch on the telecast,
he's like, praise his tiger.
You hear, come on tiger, knock this in.
Give the crowd a cheer here.
Like he's way into it.
Again, like Butch, like a shit.
I mean, like, why is But Bush not the lead guy on CBS?
Yeah, I know it's a win a major championship, but I mean shit like that's interesting anybody but failed
I think the biggest thing is like I know butch can does a lot of this stuff remote nowadays
But he doesn't travel that much anymore this first time he's been back to the master since 2019
Uh, and then catching up with Claude a couple of weeks ago
in Austin, he just said that more and more,
he just, he loves that Vegas life.
He's not gonna be moving around.
So, unless a permanent remote somewhere,
that's where we die.
Give him five tournaments a year.
And pay him a shitload of money.
And I don't know.
Do you guys wanna relitigate 15 or put a conclusion to this?
No, I think we rocked him.
I'm not, I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna stunt.
I think we ended last night said,
let's see how it plays with the wind down a little bit.
And I thought it was great today.
Zero, zero Eagles.
I think though.
Yeah, so zero Eagles.
Okay, so maybe there were one good players.
I guess we're on a diet on 15 now.
I guess we can only see it every once in a while.
Yeah, you were fat and happy before.
Yeah, I think the whole was just fine.
They were giving out crystal like they were other holes.
My point is there are other holes they could tweak on that course that deserve more attention
than messing with 15.
I thought 15 was just fine.
I don't, I would like to reiterate that it's not even as much as messing with 15 is it
was not adding flexibility to when the wind is in to make that poll play way more interesting for the first three
days. And again, I just respectfully disagree. Listen, I'll be I'll be in the middle. And
you can't dunk today and be like see told you it was right. That was T.C. I'll absolutely
do that. I will be in the middle a little bit and say, yeah, one of the, you know, maybe
first time in the last 15 years that the wind was out of the West, three days in a row like that. But I would
say if they could have carved out a little bit of flexibility and moved it up one of the
three days, I'm cool with that. I just, I like seeing the variability of like, when it's
not a two shot, like basically a par four, like that's cool too.
Like it kind of makes you appreciate it a little bit more
when Scotty went for it today or like that makes it,
that made today more interesting for him.
Yeah, nine iron, it wasn't that,
even that short.
242.
I feel like this is the first,
the most, this wasn't,
this particular one was not Fowdo's fault, but I felt like this is the first, this was not Fowdo's fault,
but I felt like this was the most momentum we've ever had
for Fowdo getting out of it.
So I'll be curious to see if the gas pedal stays down
on that one.
I feel like they cut his mic off like 15 minutes
after today, but you guys good to wrap?
I'm taked out.
I'm taked out.
This is, we left it all in the field.
We've wavered so it's currently 138 AM for the fourth night in a row here.
I just shut it down.
I'm ready to shut it down.
Nobody's going to certainly cry for the boys here, but we've wavoured so hard back and
forth between like, we should do this every year for the Masters because we can play
golf in the morning and then you watch it in the bar in the afternoon and evening.
It's the best.
And also like, we should never do this again because we get to bed at three o'clock every
night.
It's exhausting.
So I still don't really quite know where I fall on this, but had a hell of a week.
Maybe my most fun master's ever.
We're playing the new tomorrow.
Playing the new.
It's not awesome.
I'm first off, which is again, we got to wrap this thing up.
Let's wrap it up here.
Let's get to bed and we're going to enjoy seeing Andrews.
Thank you everyone for tuning in all week.
This was a lot of fun.
Thank you Cody for running the ones and twos.
Thank you C for running the ones and twos.
Code, but then shorten to see.
I think we can go with that
Yes, this was this was a blast to do. Thank you everyone for supporting our show as always
We'll be back with live shows again for southern hills to pga. Cheers
You're the right club be the right club today
That's better than most.
How about him?
That is better than most.
Better than most.
Expect anything different!
