I'm going to be the right club today.
Yeah.
That's better than most.
How about in?
That is better than most.
Better than most.
Expect anything different. Better than most. Randy, Randy Greetings. Hello. How are you? Happy PJ championship Friday. Thank you. Wonderful to be back and happy PJ championship Friday to you as well.
Let's have a good another good one tonight.
And now we're also going to bring in our third guest for the night. Obviously,
Sali is off at his his wife Hannah's business school graduation. Congratulations to her.
So we're bringing in a guy that we haven't really seen much
of this week.
He's been in the bullpen, chomping at the bit.
I've never seen more slack messages from him.
I've never seen a more amped up for a live show,
sprinting in from the bullpen like John Rocker,
please welcome Atlanta's own,
Tron Carter, Tron, Greetings.
Your nose is cleared out, you got the stint off.
You're ready to go, my man.
Yeah, you were you were making me laugh before the show a little bit too much. I can't smile too wide yet, and I can't I can't do
What I need to do with my face. So I was dying, but I'm crying a little bit right now. So I got a peach peach high noon here too
I'm and you TC great segue in there. We are of course brought to you by high noon
The moment everyone's been waiting for is finally here the high noon pool pack is back
I'm gonna just parenthetical. It's Milwaukee. It's still pretty chilly up here
We're not in the pools yet, but I know down in Florida
They are TC. I know the pool is open. I know you're sucking down the pool packs
Probably tasted all kinds of flavors. You've never even tasted before now that you're all a factories working a little bit better, I can't imagine what
life is like this week.
Dude, this peach one, the nose on this, it's crazy.
I feel like I'm in an orchard right now.
Grab a case, text the group, get your friends to the nearest pool.
It's only here for the summer.
So the time is now to enjoy lime peach, two limited edition flavors, guava
and kiwi. As always, the high new pool pack is made with real vodka and real juice. It
has 100 calories gluten free and no added sugar. You can look for high newton on drizzly
or at your local convenience or liquor store or visit high newspirits.com to find it near
you. TC, welcome back. Let me start with you. What's the headline of the day?
What's the story of the day today?
Oh, that's a good question,
because there's a lot of different things going on,
not necessarily concentric.
I think the story for me was Rory grinding out
a improbable under par round when he just didn't have anything. I think that's
the round I've been looking for from Rory for four or five years. It may not be the story
of the day pertaining to the PGA championship, but it's the story of the day kind of pertaining
to golf because I think it portends well for future majors.
It's the story of the tournament, not necessarily the story of the day, right? Exactly. I 100% agree. I got caught a little off guard there. I mean, I think, listen,
we got a little bit of a race at the top. Scotty did not run away and hide. Young Vic Hobbland
is there at minus five. A big spot for him. Of course, Cory Connors is right there as well.
And then you go down a little bit, Justin Suh has played good golf this year. And this is a huge
spot for him, Bryce and D. Shambot and Brooks Keppka. We think they're paired together. DJ,
have we confirmed that? We haven't confirmed. It hasn't come into the newsroom yet. It's very,
very, very simple math. I'm sure many people in the comments have already confirmed it, but we're not
ready to call that race yet, Randy, but we're, our analysts are leaning towards the fact
that they're playing together. We feel pretty strongly about it. I think, you know, the
leaderboard looked a little, eh, not great. It was off midday. It was snooze time midday
today. And, you know, once the rain cleared out,
things softened up a little bit, the wind laid down a little bit. All of a sudden, these guys started
making some birdies. And I feel like nature kind of healed towards the top of that leaderboard a
little bit. Yeah, I think it's not necessarily the the the names that I would like at the top of
leaderboard, but I got to admit they are big names. So for me, that's the story of the day heading into the weekend.
DJ, anything different from your perspective?
No, I think, you know, immediate disrespect for Scotty as has continued all week.
I thought he played a really, really nice round of golf. I was see a couple of...
A little bit of Scotty.
Couple of rogues. And I know you're over him, but he he's clearly gonna win this golf tournament by at least three shots, four shots.
So I'm just...
Someone's a data boy now.
No, I think that's TC.
I think we're just looking at history.
I know you're a big history guy.
Like what?
What over the last year is telling you that Scotty's not
gonna just like run and hide and just win this thing?
Not what you wanna see, I get it.
I get it, but you gotta separate that out a little bit.
At least meet me halfway here. Like the guy is driving it great. He's hitting his iron's great.
He's chipping and putting great. We were a little worried about his putter coming in. He's hitting
it so close he doesn't even really need to make any puts. It's just, I just, you know, I want to
give him his due. He's, you know, it's the biggest dog in the yard right now and leading the golf
tournament. So if you guys wanna talk about Corey Conner's
and Vic Havel and Justin Suth, things of that nature,
we got an hour and a half to do that, that's fine.
I just, I wanna be on the rise out of history here.
That's fair.
Randy, I really appreciate you going down the leaderboard.
Call me that was like,
as I was doing, I was like, oh shit, this is TC's block.
So we can do that all day long, right?
Try to pull the yoke up out of there as quickly as I could.
Guys, I know, I know we're always looking for big name guests
here on the show.
I think we've got a big one waiting in the green room.
He's a TV guy, Maddie Airwaves, they're calling him.
Matt Every, joining the program, TV star, he's got
the hair going, I'm sure he just took the makeup off, Matt.
What is what's going on?
How are you doing tonight?
DJ, your hair is very nice too, buddy.
Thanks.
That's not bad, right?
I just got a haircut this week.
Looks great.
I'm doing good, man.
Yeah, no makeup for me today though.
Took it off.
What was up?
What did you day off from me today?
What's up?
What did your day consist of today?
What were you busy doing?
Oh, man, I got to watch still.
It was memorable.
I can't lay and.
I have a block.
Mickey.
Little Ricky.
Yes, that's right.
By the way, Sean layoff of Candleys,
he's not that slow.
Really?
Oh, I think everybody was slow today.
Everybody, I mean.
That might be the case a little bit, but I mean,
I watched it all day today and I feel like he's pretty run
of the mill for the tour.
Like, I've definitely played with slower guys in Patrick, can't I?
Maybe he's just sped it up here recently too.
You know, it's been, you know, I don't know.
What, so I mean, that was, that was like probably the round of the day today.
67th morning.
Yeah, dude, it was, it was elite this morning from him.
It looked like him like Bill and Ricky didn't even belong on the same
tours as Patrick. No, I don't mean that with like the live and the ship, but just like just totally
different levels. Can't lay was just a surgeon around there. It did everything, you know,
fast out of green, worked it into pins, both ways, shaped it off the tee, was had perfect weight all day with his irons
and the greens and really didn't make hardly anything and shot three under and then I
saw where it kind of died late and it started drizzling a little bit but dude it was pretty
sick today. Is there something that you know I know you just kind of listed off everything
that he did so well today? Is there something you can put your finger on to distill down to like get us excited about the can't lay experience?
Does that feel like that's where I'm still I'm still struggling. I hear everything you're saying and I know it's there, but I every time you come up with a green, I'm it's tough.
Yeah, how can I sell Patrick can't lay you?
Yeah, that's a good one. I don't know, man. I really enjoyed watching them play golf today, though. It was pretty
freaking good. I don't want to be dramatic or caught up in the moment, but it was top
five or 10 rounds. I've been that I've seen. It was special. I don't know. Like, what
excites you about him, John? Anything? No, nothing. I
fucking hate the guy. You're asking the wrong guy. Come on.
I mean, he's really good. He's always been nice to me.
That is why today she was nice.
Matt, let me let me jump in. I think. I know, man, it's
good to see you.
Is that a, people are wondering,
is that a red roof in your stand in?
What, what, what, what, what, what, what, what,
it's fucking close to one.
I can tell you that.
Well, no, I was gonna say.
I said Rochester is struggling for hotels.
It's sure, sure.
You can get TC, the hotel EA up there.
Third things around, do some consulting.
Yeah, the talent this week, they're all staying at the this hotel for
ESPN and there's some higher up guys that aren't too happy about
the the day.
No, Matt, I was going to, I was going to say, I think Patrick's
a smart guy, I really loved listening to some of his answers and
just thoughts.
I think it was at the, was it the president's cup last year,
even two years ago at the Ryder Cup.
Like I think he can be a very thoughtful smart guy.
I think my issue with him a lot of times
when I watch him play is he's just so monotone.
And I have a hard time getting excited
because I never really see him get excited,
which I know can be an asset,
but when you're just that way all the time,
it can be a little boring.
And I think secondly is he's obviously never,
for as much talent as he has,
and he's won on the tour,
he's never really stepped up in majors.
And so I gave him a lot of shit last night.
I thought his first round out of the gates was poor.
He comes back today with, especially in the morning,
the 67 is the round of the day.
How do you feel about it going into tomorrow?
And do you think he can start stacking these types of rounds
to really getting contention in a major?
these types of rounds to really getting contention in a major.
Geez dude, that was a really there was a lot there Andy.
I feel good. I mean from what I saw today, I feel great about his chances this weekend. I think it's a golf course where you saw Jason Duffner one there with the Yeps basically. Patrick nobody's today, he did.
Nobody, there's nobody in the field
that hit it like Patrick and I did today.
There's just no freaking way.
And if he does the same, I think this course just,
Cory Connors, Ball Strike and the shit out of it,
doesn't make a ton of putts up at the top of the leaderboard.
I wouldn't ride him for his record in majors, so I mean, he's been up there.
It's not that easy to just peel off.
He's making records bad.
It's bad.
He's never had a top 10 in a major ever.
Not quite as bad.
No, not quite as bad, but I do I do tell Max that his major records
not good. Yeah, I don't think he's going to win, but man, if he ain't sniffing it on
someday, I'd be shocked. What a what a PC a PC regrets the error to he said three three top tens and majors. Okay,
there we go. Basically the same as no. What's a Matt what of your impressions of the golf course
been so far? It's sick. Yeah, like Tuesday and Wednesday, this place is just kicking the shit out
of these guys. I mean, it was it was almost pointless to play off Tuesday and Wednesday because I saw the the win forecast for Thursday and
it was like four to five miles an hour. It was blowing 15 to 20 and the place
already had just loads of fire in it on on Tuesday and the temperatures dropped
didn't quite blow as much but still just ridiculous to even try and go play
off of that.
The bunkering here is, it's unlike anything I've ever seen, it's, it is, to the eye, it's, it is, so appealing, aggressive, just, it's pretty badass and almost looks like it's out of a video game.
Um, really cool pins too. Like the last time I got the pin on 15 today, the front right and the back left.
What a cool one.
If I was a paying spectator, I'm parking it on 15.
No doubt about it.
Speaking of the pins, I mean, have you gotten a sense of kind of what they might do the next
couple days, meaning is it a, it just looks like it's set up so freaking hard the first
two days.
And I don't know if that's conscious to try to kind of weed guys out and then let them chase in the
on the weekend do you get a sense of kind of what we might be before I'm
looking out the window of mine oh boy oh shit like Matt
every day I've just been taken out yeah your video dropped out, but I just got a call.
Could you know you got a proof of life?
I'm here.
Am I back on the video?
No, but just roll with it.
Just go for it.
Yeah, it's going to rain guys.
And it's been raining.
It's been raining. It's been raining. It's gonna rain all freaking day tomorrow
They're gonna have to be careful with the pins I think because we're gonna get quite a bit of water
I don't think there's any electricity in this so you know
There we go. I'm back baby
Yeah, it's gonna rain the pins. I don't know DJ. There's there's no easy pens out here. This place is fucking hard dude
How far back do you think too far back is?
If they go I'm assuming they'll go to tomorrow. I don't think too far back
There is too far back. I mean, we're at five.
Any guy who made the cut us on speed and Justin are both down there.
I mean, who knows if one of them goes out there tomorrow and shoots four or five under
and, you know, the hell breaks loose in the afternoon.
Anyone inside the number?
Hey, we're doing some TV stuff tomorrow.
You got any tips?
I'm pumped up for you guys.
I'm happy for you that this got fell into your hands first of all.
I mean that.
And I don't have any tips just for yourself.
What did you see at a Michelson today?
Anything?
I see where got like right now.
Heat golf is that guy's life, man.
He is grinding his ass off out there.
He is no stone unturned.
I'm serious, he's super focused.
It's a guy's 52 years old.
I mean, he's more focused than anyone out there.
Every shot, there's no let up.
It's pretty impressive.
He scraped it pretty bad today and shot two over.
But yeah, I see a guy that's like,
that's kind of all he's got right now,
it feels like it's golf.
He looks like he's almost,
almost doing like meditative breathing after his putts.
Did you notice that?
Like super deep breaths,
like trying to like really slow things down.
Which like,
after before, they probably both. But like as he's like walking to his ball, he almost looked like he deep breaths, like trying to like really slow things down. Which like,
probably both.
But like as he's like walking to his ball, he almost looked like he was like,
the wellness gummies maybe bringing on a coma.
Yeah, what kind of yeah, right?
Yeah, I don't know what's going on.
Yeah, it does feel a little like Zen like.
Yeah, you know, I had to laugh.
He was quoted post-Round Michelson was saying like it's about as bad as he could have played.
Or he's playing about as poorly as possible.
And you know, which I think maybe recent results would would point to
maybe that not being the case. But I think he was like third from last and Tulsa last
week. A shame though about that double bogey on 18 this morning to close out his first
round that really is. That was a bummer because he that first round he he was stringing together
was was really, really good.
Matt aside from from from 15 today, any other holes that just stuck with you that you're
excited to see this weekend.
I'll tell you uh 13 is pretty cool to the eye it's going right back up towards the clubhouse
and it's got that American flag in the background and it's a pretty good drop down to the fairway
and the went the way it shaped you have the creek on the right with the t-shot down to the fairway. And the way it's shaped, you have the creek on the right
with the T-Shop, but also the fairway slips to the left.
And the wind is whipping off the left.
And it's just, it's a super uncomfortable T-Shop.
There's a big old oak right off the left side of the box.
So you can't kind of cheat and hit your fade
if you only work it one way.
That, dude, there's a lot of good holes out here.
It's not the most memorable, but it is a great test.
Any predictions you wanna get on the board
before we let you go?
I don't know, did Sibu can't make the cut?
It's a great question.
And there's Sibuon can make the cut, which is crazy.
Sibu did not make the cut.
So depending on what your prediction was,
you can confirm that one.
That's not it, Tim.
I don't know, man.
I would just say overall, I think in the golf community,
we need to use up on Patrick Cantler a little bit.
I like that.
Okay, that's meaningful.
Okay, yeah.
You're someone who I trust your opinion
when you're trusting way I trust your opinion when
I love that he's making progress Well anytime you want to name names on who those guys are you're welcome back of course

This is obviously a little bit of an older ad read, but still applies to me here in Milwaukee,
where the weather can fluctuate.
And the Denver as well.
Yeah, it's kind of, it's kind of spotty, right?
Mm-hmm.
Not a good day out here.
Woop is a wearable health and fitness coach that specializes in tracking and improving
your recovery, sleep, and activity.
I think we hurt, you know, not a part of the official adry,
but we heard Rory talking about how he's tracking his whoops score.
He, you know, wasn't quite as high, the recovery wasn't quite as high.
As he thought it was going to be going into that first round.
And, you know, you can see it.
It means a lot to, it means a lot to these guys.
As it does to you, Randy, I know.
Yeah, for sure.
And I was going to say, I think I don't, I'm not the one with the
line to Rory, but I think we should invite him into our refuge whoop club. Yeah, I think
that would, I think he could get a lot out of that. Yeah, he can, he can mix with some
members and they can check workout stats and, and all that stuff. But yeah, good run for
whoop. You know, Rory's Rory's checking it every day, big part of his routine. My whoop
did not like my surgery. I'm sure. We need to do a 30 for 30
on so it's TC's whoop stretches that he's that he's been on. I want to see what your stats look

Let's get back to it. where you guys want to go next.
Real quick. I got ESPN on just because I was watching the golf. The reds uniforms.
It's an 80 all black. Yeah, crazy wild. Got Los Yankees, pushers Yankees in town.
I know. We could break. You want to go reds? I'm prepared to talk.
I'm going to go. Okay. All right. I saw your boy, Ellie Dale Cruz,
was trending today, but we can we can pick up on these are unicorn.
Um, guys, I mean, I think we got to talk about Scotty.
It we do. The tournaments still he is going to dictate the tournament, right?
They're, they're, it's on his, on his club, if you will. Let me ask you this. What's going to have to happen for Scotty to not run tournament, right? It's on his club, if you will.
Let me ask you this.
What's gonna have to happen for Scotty
to not run away with this?
Like, what about it?
Make the case for me that Scotty's not gonna win this.
I think the...
I mean, like, our play...
But I think if the course softens up
and it gets a little easier,
I think that helps all the other guys. Yeah.
I think I think Scottie's driver kind of failed him a little bit at the players.
Sure. If his putter kind of, you know, like he was right in the mix there,
faded on the weekend. If his putter balters a little bit, you know, he's got some
got some gremlins in there lately. I don't, like, I think there's so much golf left in this thing.
And it's like all the projections, all like the,
the, the probability models in a tournament like this.
I'm just like, I don't even want to see those until like,
we're six holes in on Sunday because there's just so much golf to be played.
And this is such a big golf course.
There's so much shit that can happen in a four hole stretch.
Yeah. And I think I agree with you to a two in extent on that outside of Scotty. I think for Scotty, I'm like, yeah, I'm not really looking at the probabilities.
I'm kind of just like looking at the trophy case and like he just seems like he wins a lot,
you know, but you're, you're right.
And that he looked a little squirrely coming down the stretch of the players,
which obviously still ended up winning. But it could happen.
He did. He did win the players, didn't he?
I think he did. I thought he thought he choked it away.
He both looked squarely and also still one, which I don't know if that helps or hurts.
You kind of a crowning. Yeah.
Can we unpack, you know, TC more or less embedded Scotty Shepfler,
Dr. Oppenheimer. PC, more or less invented Scotty Sheffler.
Dr. Oppenheimer. Could we unpack the Dr. Oppenheimer situation
that is brewing here?
Where, you know, PC brought to life
this just amazing feat of innovation and science
and just human potential.
And now we're concerned it could destroy the world.
It is a true,. I have become death destroyer destroyer of world situation for TC
Yeah, what and let me ask you just just point blank. I mean what
You correct me if this was not the quote but I believe on a preview pod for the masters
You said it would be quote the worst thing that could happen for golf if Scotty won the Masters.
Is that right?
Yeah, I did.
I did say that.
I stand by it.
Take me inside that.
Just because like the way that he wins, it just doesn't, it's, you know, it's kind of like
the way Brooks did it.
It just doesn't make me feel anything.
It doesn't make me like going back a few years when Scotty was, you know, absolutely
destroying people on the corn fairy tour and you guys wouldn't listen to anything I had to say about him and all
that. It was, it was, you know, it was like, hey, like this guy's really, really
good and I think he's gonna project really well to the next level and of course
he did and all that and now it's like he's playing so slow and like the
ruling yesterday was absurd. I mean, he was doing, he was at Home Depot in the garden aisle,
looking at hose and, uh, you know, pickaxes,
getting all the mulch out of there for 10 minutes.
Um, I still have questions about that.
Unplayably took on the 72nd hole of the masters as well a couple of years ago.
He there's like, there's some mashing of the rough behind the ball with woods
and then he switches back to an iron.
There's just some things that I don't love, all right?
And I don't really have anything against Scotty,
but I'm also not rooting for Scotty.
What a, he's a little vanilla too.
I didn't anticipate him being this vanilla,
which is fine, you know, that's, that's
his deal. But as a fan, doesn't really do much for me. I feel like I've said this couple
times. I know I said it after Phoenix and I'll continue to say it that I think I'm on
the block that just the more he wins, the more interesting he gets because he's, he's
not going to be following him and Meredith around as they're getting coffee is, is not
going to be the interesting thing.
Unless it's in juxtaposition to kind of what other players are doing.
And I think it was fascinating in the Netflix show to see kind of like the difference between
Brooks just, you know, spiraling in his own head in Scotty, just kind of whistling and drinking
coffee as he wins every tournament he shows up to.
Like that's kind of interesting.
But in a vacuum, like I get what you guys are, I get what you guys are saying for sure.
However, looking at this leaderboard, unless we get a Rory charge, unless we get club pro
Michael block winning, unless we get, I mean, kind of sort of, I'm bright.
I think we got some guys, but they're going to have to make big charges.
What's more interesting, Scotty winning or Victor Hauvin winning his first?
Oh, Victor for sure.
I think Victor winning his first would be very interesting.
I think Scotty, we're in that, we're in that Nadeer right now for Scotty,
where until he wins like five majors and starts making history,
I don't think it's that interesting.
Which I guess my rebuttal would be, he's got to win two before it's not.
Scott has to do that for sure
I also think
Scotty will get a lot more interesting if and when and and I think it's just a matter of when he picks up some scar tissue
In these big events. Yeah
Which you know the more he's in contention the more possibility there is for that I
struggle a little bit with hovelin in the sense that a lot of the same stuff.
Like I love the idea of Hovelin.
I would actually like love to go have a beer with Hovelin,
but when I watch him play golf,
I don't do a ton for me.
I'd be overjoyed for my friends in Norway,
or the fine people of Oslo.
That would be tremendous, but I don't know. He doesn't do a ton for me.
I mean, what about a Brooks win? Would that be...
Brooks would send a charge through.
Signed me up for that. Yeah, I would reiterate a lot of what I said during the Masters,
which was, I mean, it kind of felt it yesterday, and this morning a little bit too. I mean, he
clearly didn't have his best stuff yesterday. He was still making seven, eight footers for par and just grinding out like putting on the
costume and being major championship Brooks, Keppka. And then today kind of the damn
finally burst on the back nine when the conditions got a little easier. He was the guy, you know,
one of the guys that really, really took advantage made five birdies on the back nine and all
of a sudden he's in the golf tournament. And like, don't know, man, I just I don't know that there's like a ton of guys that have have that gear so freaking
consistently. As Sully says all the time, like the guys everybody's trying to peak for
these events and very, very, very few players actually do it. And Brooks is one of the guys
who does don't sign me up for Brooks, but I'm okay if he gets involved.
Not live as already if he shows up.
Exactly.
I think Hoveland for me, I don't know.
Hovelin reminds me a little bit of like, it's the same way I felt about Stenson.
It's just like, it's interesting if you win.
And you're going to learn something.
And I think there's a lot more there with Hovelin than we've seen thus far.
This is like, like, could not be more onchair analysis, could not be more based on absolutely nothing,
never met Victor hobbling in my life,
just reading between the lines, body line,
which just a hair, he doesn't seem like
quite as joyous of a guy as I feel like we saw
when he was like the young rookie that we saw,
like really bursting out of the scene.
Like he seems just a little bit like tour life
is kinda starting to get to him
and starting to scratch at him a little bit
and I wonder how much is there
because you see it like just a little quote today
about like, oh, I was like really young and dumb
when I was contending in all of those
and the fact that he hasn't really backed up
like this prodigious ball striking
and all of this talent that everybody was kind of projecting
on him, like I think he's in a super, super interesting spot
that I think Speed went through, I think JT went through
but the difference is almost like those guys
had a million wins as they're going through that valley
so they can kind of almost coast.
Whereas I wonder if Hovelin is almost kind of going through it
and like not starting to force the issue a little bit
but like it's gotta be in the back of his head,
man. Like he's got to be ready to start picking these things off. He's going to do it.
That's what makes it interesting, though, is if he can convert it, then it's like, does that
free him up completely and prove him, hey, I can do this. And then I hope so because I'm with you,
Randy, like I love like on paper, man, like this is everything that I am about. Like show me this,
but I've just kind of hit in this,
you know, I just feel like we've hit the same point
and trying to you were saying it when he hit the score
of the one on 14 and he ended up saving par, I think.
But like, it's like, oh God,
this is the moment that we've had every major
for the last three years.
It's like a weird swing or a weird decision
and then compounded and then he ended up making a,
what's he gonna say, he got up and down for part of it.
Yeah, pretty good, you know, pretty good shot there.
But like, yeah, there's just always something weird
that happens on, you know, today it happened on Friday,
maybe it doesn't happen the rest of the weekend,
but like it happened at Tori a couple of years ago,
where it's just, it's like, man, like, where did that come from?
So I would love, man, I'm rooting for him to be up there.
And I hope he, we get to see him like properly in the culture.
And I think that would be a ton of fun.
And it's, again, kind of Scott, no offense to the people
of Canada, Corey Conner's not going to do a for me.
There's a, I think you said you're ready to fast forward
through the Corey Conner's experience.
Yeah, you called him an amphibian.
That was off the record.
There's, uh, threw me off the, uh, there's Scotty, there's Victor, there's
Bryson, there's Brooks kind of on that leaderboard right now.
And the rest Justin Sowe is awesome, awesome, awesome player.
But, you know, it, a little early in that experiment
for me to be just in sus made two bogies.
So that's incredible.
And also, I need to point out, Randy, you mentioned I, I kind of just, I summoned Calum Terran
like Andy man.
And why don't you do it?
TC, you know what number, Sean McKeal was in the world when he won at Oak Hill?
Probably the same number as Calum Terran, if you're asking me right, 169.
That was, that's the kind of research you're not going to find anywhere else.
I love it.
Uh, Taylor Pendrith, TC, you want to do 20, 25 minutes on him?
No, I'm good.
I'm good.
We like, you know what, shout out to Canada, Cory Conner's Taylor Pendrith, Adam Spenson,
uh, Hadwin made the cut, you know, I know a lot of people, a lot of Canadians
spend a lot of time in Western New York.
You're driving down to get American corn pops,
duty free shoes, shit like that,
because the VAT tax is crazy up there.
We used to do it all the time when we drove down
the golden horseshoe or whatever.
Hamilton and Niagara on the lake, down through Niagara Falls, you go shop at Buffalo Syracuse Rochester
there. You know, I know the Canadians spend a lot of time in Western New York, so there's
obviously a comfort level there. But yeah, it's, you know, it's cool to see them thriving.
I don't think we need to talk about them too. Sure.
We got to mention Corey Connors just tied for the lead and obviously playing really good golf.
Tron, I know you don't want to hear about sustainability models, but just I'm going to ease your mind
a little bit in that just just did like notoriously bad putter.
Yeah.
Corey Connors who seems to be making a lot this week, I believe he's gained
five shots on the field with the flat stick, which is, which is a rarity. We know he's going to
ballstrike it. It doesn't usually make this many puts. So that's purely nothing against my friends
in Canada. That's just a bit of a, if you're looking for people who might linger, I don't know that he's
he's it, but who knows? He could, he gets probably hard to get that taste out of your mouth from the from the president's cut man. I don't know.
You get to the weekend. I just it's going to be hard hard to um see some of the stuff that we saw.
I was going to say tomorrow is going to teach us a lot. Yeah, you know, they call it moving day. I don't have to tell you guys that, but I do think that the Corey Conners, the Justin
Suss, it's like, all right, you know, a good first 36, but let's let's sleep on being
a part of those last three groups and be very keen to see what some of these guys are made
of tomorrow.
Can we, can we talk about the artist formerly known as the big golfer?
Yeah, I'd love to.
That's where I'm at.
Also, this is, it's crazy how peachy this is.
It's great.
Well, it might just feel your nose getting cleared out.
I can't believe it.
I feel like America's known that for years.
Now you're just catching up.
It's great.
I like these things before.
I love them now.
What did you see from Bryson today?
You know what, I thought he was fading.
I thought he was ejecting from the golf tournament in, you know, a rapid was T.C.
Rapid unscheduled disassembly.
Yeah.
What to the double on six?
I know it's a war.
Yeah.
Well, kind of squirk it.
I've talked to you into on six at that moment for Bryson.
What, where do you think we were headed?
I thought we were heading like a quad for there.
And then I thought he was gonna shoot like 76.
And I was like, all right, cool.
Like that's Flooky as hell and see you, man.
And then it's weird.
I know like KVV was gassing them up last night,
like crazy, you know, really, you know, Randy,
Randy, I appreciate it.
Do you punch them back a little bit?
Um, you know, telling people to,
hey, we, we can't trust these kids.
No.
We don't let kids vote.
We don't let kids drive.
We don't let kids, you know, you can't have that, right?
Kids are idiots.
Kids are idiots.
Kids.
You know, and then, I mean, Cody, I know they just,
they just outlawed TikTok in your home state of Montana.
So a lot of bad things happening for Bryson overall here.
And it's kind of one of those things
where it's like, we can't forget about like how bad of a guy this is. Like I don't dislike Bryson
because he went to live. I actually like Bryson more because he went to live. Like that's where Bryson
should probably be. But like he treated so many people so poorly for so long, we can't forget about
that, right? Just because he's playing golf, but I will say they showed him a lot
on the last, you know, five or six holes there today,
especially he's got a certain lightness about it.
Totally.
That's the thing.
They're like,
he looks like a real person.
Yeah.
It's really, really, I don't know if it's concerning
or confusing or what, but it's, you know,
and poor athletic great thing in their newsletter.
Yesterday or it's morning about just, you know, Bryson and how he's he's conflating,
you know, we call it adversity to whatever it is that he's been through with,
just like poor decision making.
Yeah, poor decision making waterboarding himself with 13 shakes,
just because he said.
So eloquently last night, Randy,
referring to DJ's previous point,
it's just, it's one of those things where it's like,
you can't feel bad for the guy,
but also selfishly, yes,
I do want him to be in the mix,
but also selfishly, I don't want him to win.
I just want him to be there as a villain.
Like that's his role to be a villain.
He doesn't need to win. I just want him to be there as a villain. Like that's his role to be a villain. He doesn't need to win.
Maybe people can change T.C.
You got to leave some room for that.
I'm so skeptical, man.
I liked poor ass point too about like,
what are we going to see next time he gets a sketch line
in bunker next time he gets a bad ruling next time he gets
a rope to the face next time he gets any of these things like what rope to the face.
Oh, we really get to see it.
I thought we were going to see it on six there, where it just kind of making a little bit
of a mess again, hard hole, as you said.
And then he takes advantage of it on the back nine, makes three birdies on the back,
gets himself into, you know, into like a great spot again.
I thought he was going to totally eject and he didn't, man. He hung
out. I think this is probably pretty stupid from like a sample size perspective, but two
rounds is a lot different than one round. I feel like on an edgy championship, right?
Yeah. I mean, we've seen a lot of guys take it low for one round and then fill their
pants on Friday and Bryson very easily could have done that today and didn't and he's
going to be around for the weekend, which is
It's just such an interesting
display or or example because
Bryson he come like he used to complain about everything. Maybe he's not anymore
But complaining about everything acting like stuff's not your fault
Laming everyone else and then on the flip side ROMs doing that exact stuff
Today like all day like just
side, Ram's doing that exact stuff today, like all day, like just losing his mind on himself on fuck the PGA.
There was a lot of f-boms out there, like so many f-boms, it was sick, even speech dropped
one, Rory dropped one.
I'm not going to put those two on, you know, if we're looking at the whole case, the
totality of the case, I'm going to put Ram a lot higher than the right one.
Totally, but I'm saying, like that saying, it's so valuable to like,
you can act like that on the golf course.
Oh, I see.
I understand.
But then act like a real human being after the fact
and be thoughtful and engaging and just honest with people.
Or you can try to explain stuff away
and be an unhinged lunatic.
And like, Bryson like I'm gonna need
to see like three or four more years of this shit before I even come close to giving
him the benefit of the doubt.
Randy, what about you? What sum up your feelings on the Bryson experience?
Woo! I kind of agree with TC. I just you know, certainly not my cup of tea in the way you axe off the course. I
don't disagree with a lot of that. And I do think, you know, the the six iron into 11
today was sick. Maybe the best shot that I saw all day. That was amazing. So there's there's
there's spectacular golf in there. And I like you like it's it's just
it inherently more interesting when he's around and in the mix. But I'm not going to root for him
and I hope he doesn't you know he wouldn't be my pick to win. I don't know. I guess that's all
saying I don't have much more to add. I think you've summed it up pretty nicely, TC.
It just makes you wonder too.
Like what would have happened
if he just didn't do any of this extraneous bullshit
the whole way?
If he just played golf and like he won the USM
just playing, you know,
or like there's a lot of extraneous bullshit baked in,
but if he didn't go the extra mile of like the bulking
and all that stuff, like if he just went out and played golf and kept his mouth shut and respected his peers and respected the golf course,
he's the one that one of the ones that was referring to in his newsletter this week when he said
guys aren't fixing their divots and raking bunkers in practice rounds. Like this guy's treated everyone from tore officials
to his peers, to rules officials, to fans,
like shit for the last five years.
I'm not gonna fain sympathy for him now.
Don't forget about the bees.
Remember when you got pissed off at the bees too?
Or the ants, whatever it was.
The ants, the wildlife too.
Get them TC, come on.
Yeah.
I was laughing just during that because I
agree with a lot of what you're saying. The just the idea of getting into Delorean
and going back to, you know, the first masters at Bryson played after he won the
USAM when he weighed 160 pounds and he's got the Hogan cap and Jim Nance is
talking about how he might be the first amateur to win the Masters because he just loves the game so much.
And just like thinking, just thinking about that guy.
And then the guy that we saw two years ago and the guy that we see now is just like,
it's one of those like, man, you just don't really realize the ride you're on until it's
over.
That fucking hat, man.
Why do you have to bring that back?
I kind of forgot about that.
And then he made a logo out of the hat.
Yeah, this guy's a deplorable.
He's hitting, but he has a 60 degree wedge.
It's like the length of a six iron.
It's not good.
It's insane.
Yeah.
Listen, T.C. is T-Fore to PGA.
I don't know what to tell you.
You got a lot of fucked up clubs too.
You're not doing anything with them.
What you guys, I'm gonna go ahead and, you know,
I haven't looked at anything, but I'm gonna confirm
Bryson and Brooks playing together tomorrow
and apologize later if they're not.
But is that, is that doing anything for you guys?
Is that kind of fizzled out and blown over?
Is it live stuff squash that?
Are you looking a little closer?
What do you think?
If fizzled out when they did their damn match,
the whole thing was a nothing burger, right?
Yeah, once they tried to start playing it up
for social media, that was, that, catch me out.
That's, that was enough for me.
It's a, it's a, it's an interesting group,
I think just because I think Brooks is a very proud,
proud guy,oud guy.
Proud boy.
I think I think that's honestly part of I have to think he was taking a
mens pride and kind of keeping up with Scotty and playing the two,
the first two rounds with Sheffler.
So I, my guess would be he, he relishes the chance to kind of go mono him ono with with Bryson tomorrow
And I do think it's interesting from that standpoint because you got to think Bryson's gonna be
Think in the same thing I doubt both guys say anything like publicly to that effect
But you know, there's they'll they're both gonna be wanting to show out a totally smash smash versus crushers.
But no love loss between those two teams.
You know that.
I feel like there's I feel like Brooks is going to be running at 10 tomorrow as
well. Right.
So anything, it's not going to take much to trip the alarm.
And I feel like he was he was talking about can't lay slow play at the, you
know, he's had no no issue with can't lay in the past.
He's talking about how slow can't lay is playing,
walking off the green at the masters and all this stuff.
I do not.
I do not think it's going to take much to set off
Brooks regarding Bryson tomorrow.
I don't think Bryson's, Bryson has no upside.
I don't think that train goes both ways.
Like I think, I think Bryson has nothing to gain
from doing anything other than just like keeping his head
down and hitting golf shots tomorrow.
But I think Brooks could probably put him in a body bag
on a pretty short notice if he was interested in doing so.
TC, you wanna go down the leaderboard a little bit?
Where's the lead?
It's right with love too.
Let's see Co here.
I would love to.
Let me, I'm gonna start you at,
Hold on, I wanna say something about calendar. One more thing. I'm buying a calendar. I would love to. Let me, I'm going to start you at, uh, hold on.
I want to say something about Calentaren.
One more thing.
I'm buying.
Let's start there.
Let's start there.
Then you can, you can cruise from there.
I'm buying on Calentaren.
I think that what price?
Uh, I mean, he's a hundred to one right now.
Like, I'm definitely buying on that.
I would buy him at a top five or a top 10.
Um, you know, the stats look good.
He's played. He's like a good player.
I've kind of followed his career a little bit the last year and a half or so.
And like he hasn't really popped, but like proper player knows how to play like real golf.
And the stats kind of back it up from this week. At least it's, it's, he's hitting fairways.
He's, he's hitting greens. He's putting well. Like he's not doing anything
extraordinary. Well, he's just a shit out of the ball. Yeah, he's just like, like he's not doing anything extraordinarily well. He's just like,
it's a shit out of the ball.
Yeah, he's just like playing really, really good golf.
So I think he's kind of proven the last couple of days
that he can hang.
And, you know, I'm excited to see it.
I like seeing when, you know,
somebody kind of sticks their nose in the mix
if they've got it or not, you know.
Do we, how old of a guy is he?
I don't know anything about Calam Terram.
Well, Randy, you've been really, really, you know, do we how old of a guy is he? I don't know anything about calumterum. Well Randy, you've been really really
You know
extremely
Down on English golf. He's 32. So he's not like a spring chicken. He went to Radford University
He's been pro for this is like his eighth year as a pro
Time to do it, Randy. It is. He's from Tartlington, England, a good Florida or England candidate.
You know, his his his form was clearly clearly prime coming in.
He missed, uh, like 10 of his last 11 cuts.
And then he got a T64.
He missed like 10 cuts in a row.
And at a T64 at the Wells Fargo.
So he's just absolutely primed.
But yeah. So like,
there's nothing to say that way. He also had like a T2 at the at C Island in the fall. So it's
kind of one of those things where it's like he can string like like four days together. He's
just not a he's not or he's not. He's kind of a high variance guy.
I think from a like forcing apologies perspective like like TC has nothing to lose by going in on Calam Terrod.
We're not gonna remember that he was like,
yeah, I think Calam Terrod, my kind of,
we're not gonna be like TC, will you apologize?
But if he finishes six.
Six year olds, it's a penny stuff.
Yeah, we're gonna, we're gonna hear about it in two years.
All right, continue, please.
Pendrith, nothing to say there.
Team Rose. Team Rose.
Team Rose put a hell of a round of golf.
I got to say, like the models were all over this.
The models were all over this.
The models were, you know, unfortunately, I said like a month ago, I'm like,
yeah, I think it's the kind of course key.
And Bradley's going to play really well at.
It feels a little smoke and mirrors, though, to me, if he can keep it up on the weekend.
I know he had the chip in yesterday. Well, he just isn't hitting like any fairways, which it seems like that looks just going
to run out eventually.
I don't know.
It just feels like one of those, it feels like marrying a little bit.
DJ, what's his putting stats?
Do you have the official stats in front of you?
I do, Randy.
He is 15th in Stroke's game putting. He was 11th today, gained two and a half shots on the field and putting. Randy, he is 15th in strokes game putting.
He was 11th today, gained two and a half shots on the field and putting.
I guess he did have some three puts. He just every time it's like he's making birdies
or bogeys. Yeah. Very, very interesting. First two rounds.
Yeah, I'll give you that. I think it's, you know, I would, I would just say he plays a
steady around the golf tomorrow. So, um,
in the way at it. Randy, Steadier round of golf tomorrow. So um Way out it Randy
Randy let's talk about your boy Michael block
The block is hot big you know. Oh, good. I'm good. You guys go ahead though. You guys go ahead. Why are you down on this guy?
I'm not I'm preemptively down on him because I'm in reactive
He's letting other people decide his joy for him. No, we're just gonna get the tweets ruined it for him.
I'm gonna get bludgeoned over the head with Michael Block stuff the next two days.
And that's not his fault. And he does seem like a genuinely good dude.
And I think he's got a passion for teaching golf. And that's wonderful.
I'm just I'm unsubscribing from all the Michael block stuff the next two days.
I'm subscribing.
I was so in today, I had a blast following them.
Yeah.
Like, it got from, so I put a thing out on the NLU Twitter
and got a bunch of awesome responses,
but just like, hey, I don't know if we're really
like talking about this and how crazy this is.
Like, could you put it into context
from like another sport?
What it would, like what this is like a club pro
contending at a major championship?
Like what is that?
So I think the best one most accurate when I saw
was someone saying like your local basketball coach
from the Y gets put into the NBA finals
to Garla Braun one on one, which is pretty much what it is.
And it's like that part is like not relatable to me at all.
And then he shanks the one on five
or whatever, whatever all that was.
And all of a sudden I'm like, oh my God,
like that, imagine if a genie offers you that deal.
Like we're gonna let you go content
at a major championship and you're gonna like be in the hunt
but then we're gonna give you the shanks coming down the stretch.
I don't know that I would have this stomach
to take that deal
But then he got the shanks. Yeah, and then he found it with four bars in a row
I'm like, it's one of the hardest holes on the planet. So and I love that he's he's yucking it up with he's enjoying the hell out of the media stuff
He's he's got a one liner for everything. He just is like he's he's truly soaking it all up and I love it
I also I know Neil's not here.
I'm sure he'll say this tomorrow,
but love when someone speaks the goal out into existence, right?
Like every time he was interviewed this week,
it was immediately like, I am going to do this.
I'm going to be low club pro.
I want to finish in the top 20.
That's what I'm here to do.
That's the only thing I got left in my career
that I haven't done.
And he's going out and doing it. He beat the shit out of John Rom this week and Jordan's speed, the Justin Thomas.
It's just awesome, man.
I'm so in.
He said, quote, I want to try to spiral upward with the spiraling downward.
That that should be right up your alley.
You got to shed some light on that.
I know that's that's our friends, Pia and Lynn and just trying. They explained it all to me. I get that. I like that's that's our friends Pia and Lynn and Just trying they explained it all to me. I get that I like that
I and this is guys. It's nothing to do with Michael himself like he seems fantastic
I am saying I am unsubscribing we're gonna get bludgeoned guys this is gonna be an
Offensive like you have never seen against us with Michael Block stuff tomorrow.
And that's just what I can't do it.
I can't do it.
It golf always does it.
They take the good stories and then you just beat you over the head with it until I get
sick of them.
Randy, it's like your local tennis pro advancing to like the quarter finals at this point
of the US open, like qualifying to the US open, advancing to the quarters quarter finals at this point of the US open.
Like qualifying to the US open, advancing to the quarters and he's playing, he's playing
Joker Vitch or he's playing Fetter or Montfay next.
Or you know, other tennis players. We don't have the day.
Cheerio. Everybody knows all the famous tennis players.
It's like Jimmy Connors back in the day, if Jimmy Jimmy Conner's wasn't even Jimmy Conner's
Andy, wait what?
And Jimmy Conner's made the big run in the US open. I was spiraling downward here
Well, so I was gonna say I believe he's the only club pro to make the cut
So I think he has low club pro wrapped up which is got to be a good feeling after
I said that was one of his career goals. Yeah.
So the top 20 obviously, that's still out there.
And then I have the all-time best finishes by PGA professionals in the PGA championship.
And the bar is tied for 11th.
In 1986, Lonnie Nielsen in 1974, Tommy A. Cock both finished tied for for 11. So there's your all-time mark.
What's a shoot for it? Is it even first of all, let me preface it with, it doesn't matter
and massive capital bold face W no matter what happens, but what do you think is going to
happen? I would say top 30. I hope so, man. I think that he all.
That's just going to come back from the from the shank.
Yeah.
I think he's going to have he's going to be a bit freed up.
I think, right?
He's certainly playing with house money.
I could see him, you know, I could seem going like 72, 73 or something on the weekend?
It's sick too, because he's like, he's 46.
I know.
It's not like he's like some, you know, 29 year old
that just started, you know, in the pro shop
as like an assistant that picks the rain.
He's like, no, he's been doing this for years and years.
I know he plays a bunch of PGA tour events
as the section guy and all that,
but like, that doesn't make it any less impressive.
Totally.
And just an absolutely prolific winner in the Southern California section as well.
So Monday, Q info had a tweet about like his, I played like 152 events with like 46
wins or something like that.
I mean, just like absolute just crush her down there.
Top 10 and like 90% of the time.
Yeah.
So I'm a man.
I'm in.
Give me all the Michael block stuff you got.
I love it.
TC, what do you got about Sep Strocka?
Not much.
You had some things earlier about, you know, him.
I like this.
I still think he should be getting a look and under under the radar look at the your rider
cup team.
You were saying he was putting extremely just
really scared. Maybe I didn't, maybe I didn't watch too many of them, but there were a couple
just like very scared butts. But you know, who among us Keith Mitchell playing great golf
cashier Keith. Yeah. You know, it gets cold out. I think I worry about Keith when it gets
when it gets wet out, you know,
got to get a cover up the cash mirror and the casual gets wet and then the hair and all
that shit. But, um, Min Wuley sneaky 67 today. Um, I'm dying for more of the Min Wuley experience.
I had such a good time at the players. I think we can, I think we can count on it this weekend.
I hope so. Uh, Svenson, we already went over him and our blanket Canadian segment.
Um, Rory, buying or selling, buying, really?
I'm buying too.
I told you, I think that that put on two round one just totally flipped it for him.
He's out there grinding.
I think he just need
something to click and he's just got to get that, that stone rolling downhill a little
bit.
I would really charge tomorrow.
So he is, you know, obviously the driver is his massive, massive strength. As we all
know, he was 112 in strokes gained off the tee today, which is not what you're
expecting for Rory McAroy coming into the week. What a stupid take. This is about to be
that I'm about to launch, but I'm sure you guys saw his quote after the round about how like,
you know, honestly, like I might just like tee it high and just bomb it as far as I can and try
to try to figure it out in a way. I'm like, fuck yeah, man. Like that, that's exactly it. Like,
almost like setting up like, hey, you know what?
I don't have my A game.
So let's like, let's stay engaged and just like go figure it out.
In a weird, weird, weird way is almost easier.
I feel like then I'm supposed to do everything great.
Let me go do everything great.
And why am I not hitting any fairways, right?
Like just free yourself up to, you know, oh, man,
I missed another fairway.
Like, let me just go grind out and like figure out how to make
par. I don't know. I think, I think I'm buying as well.
But, you know, that's probably about shocks. No one.
The perfect guest. No, no, I absolutely love it.
I agree with you. And I was, I didn't jump in yesterday when you guys were
talking about Rory, but I truly think we can go back to that putt from off
the green and that that fucking made something switch for him.
But the best pairing ever to be in Roy's position coming in tomorrow.
He's playing with Shane.
They both played amazing today.
We're going to fucking vibe up each other and they're going to just go a whole million
puts in.
Like it's of these parents that came out.
There's nothing on here that is better for anyone else besides Roy McRoy.
Oh, block us.
Blow a team Rose.
That's your boy.
Hey, hey, that's your boy.
No, I asked him.
I'm totally, I'm totally in on Rory.
I think Rory by driving it like shit the first two days has totally like fixed the expectations
issue.
And now he's playing with house money and now he can just go out and like, you know know just pin his ears back like he plays best when he feels like he's out of it anyway and
I don't know. I just this is what I've been wanting to see from Rory for like the last five years and when he doesn't have his a game
How does he get the fucking ball in the hole and he finally like
Just figured out how to do that if it was like this light bulb moment and it'd see like the weight coming off
of his shoulders a little bit of like,
like he started embracing it and having fun
and leaning into it instead of just getting frustrated
and he was rolling with the punches.
It was great.
Which also from a like,
you know, if we're looking ahead
and you know, we're thinking that it might get soft,
we're thinking that it might be kind of a chaser weekend.
We're looking at who's out in front of him.
I don't know, man, it kind of, listen.
If I was listening to this podcast,
I'd be driving my car off a cliff
because obviously we say this during every major.
But TC and Rainier are not usually saying this.
Yeah, I mean, I'm like, I'm weirdly engaged with it, right?
Yeah, it just,'m like, I'm weirdly, I'm weirdly engaged with it, right?
Yeah, it just it it felt a little, well, and I do, I put some stock into what,
what he told Sali Monday, like he was obviously feeling good about where he was and it didn't necessarily translate, but you got to think that's there somewhere. And if he can tap into that,
I think that's there somewhere there. And if he can tap into that, he's weathered the storm
and he started to, you know,
what is he over his last 10 holes?
He's 300, like, that's what I mean.
He's just got to get that engine turned over a little bit.
And then I think, you know, he could shoot 67 a mile
on him.
He's doing the hard stuff well.
Like, like, the stuff that's hard for him,
he's starting to do that.
Now it's like, cool man,
like I know you've got that feeling
in the driver somewhere in there.
Like, you know, get a feel or get something
and just go with it.
It's a plus, he's got the shitty night's sleep out of the way
and all that, I feel like it's like,
that first night after you haven't slept well for a while,
you're like, man, I'm excited to go to bed tonight.
He's back.
And there's the Rochester.
There's the Oak Hill thing.
Like I, he's got a house.
He's staying in a house.
He's on a house.
Well, I think he's done an amazing job on it up to.
I think a lot of people try to push this like, this is his second home and everything,
because this is where his wife's from.
He's done a fabulous job.
I think pushing all that back and being like, honestly, I've home and everything because this is where his wife's from. He's done a fabulous job, I think, pushing all that back
and being like, honestly, I've played here like two,
maybe three times.
Right.
Like, he played it, he's had he played it one time
post-restory.
No, but I think it's like, it's less about the course
and more like he does spend time in Rochester.
I think it's more like during his very comfortable.
Yeah, I think it's a comfortable feeling to it.
It's like comfortable as you can possibly be standing
at your in-laws and I don't know about you guys, but oh sometimes it's touching go
Happy wife happy life true could be in play we got people in the comments saying that the wind is up tomorrow
I'm not seeing that at all
Workst the now the models have been fucking terrible this week
The North American model let us down today. Now we're on the icon 13 model,
but this one's aligned with the Euro model a little bit.
We're just seeing like moisture all day,
kind of not crazy moisture just drizzly,
but not a whole lot,
like this is a lot less wind than we had today.
This is single digit,
the gusts aren't even more than, you know,
a dozen miles per hour.
So again, TC, I know it's a meme at this point, but if you're talking rain, wet golf
course, soft golf course, little wind, like, I mean, that's our guy right there.
What do you guys think set up?
Why is like DJ, I totally agree with your point last night of like rounds one and two, you
got to kind of match those up.
You got to, you know, if you're going to make it tough for one, you kind of have to make it tough for both.
I'm keen to see if, you know, maybe the softness gives him a little bit more license to set it up hard tomorrow again.
Or do they let off and just make it a free for all tomorrow and then buckle back in Sunday.
I wonder, I mean, every was kind of looting to this, I think, I don't know if he actually
said it, but I assume what he was getting at was like, they got to have to watch the pins
with the moisture, like they almost are going to need to put them up on my shelves probably,
which seems like it would kind of negate some of the scoring stuff.
But if the greens get, I don't know, I mean, if the greens get like, quote unquote, soft,
it's not like they're going to get soft like they are at like a PJ tour normal stop, right?
Like they just get a little, a little softer.
That's the first bounce.
A little more.
Yeah.
Which these guys will still like feast on.
I'm sure.
But if the, I don't, I don't know.
It's a long way of saying I, I obviously don't have like a great answer.
But I, I would imagine that they'll try to keep the cars moving tomorrow, right?
And try to keep like, keep things, right? And try to keep things going through
and keep things on the rails for Saturday
and then probably set it up for like a really fun,
kind of explosive showdown on Sunday,
which I love, I think that's great.
And there's been a lot of talk this week,
which is usually our block,
but a lot of talk this week about kind of like
identity of the PGA championship and what is it supposed to be and all of this stuff.
And I kind of am like digging this.
I'm all in on what we're seeing this week, like really tough borderline kind of US open
test on, you know, Thursday and Friday that kind of like opens up like if you can survive
the survival test, now all of a sudden it's like you get into kind of,
you know, chase mode on Sunday.
Are these pins for tomorrow?
I'm assuming they're tomorrow.
Oh, he just, he just, he just,
Pins.
Sarge, great work, my man.
God, they're gonna run out of corners.
They're just running the Dean's with court corners.
That's great.
Deach normally I would agree with you.
And I would revel in flaming the PGA of America.
But I think Oak Hill's been fun.
Southern Hills has been fun.
We're going to have major issues.
They got to get away from the quail hallas.
Like, that's my big gripe.
Is this year specifically, I'm going to praise them,
because I think it's been a really fun tournament
and I have loved the setup
and I've really enjoyed seeing the new Oak Hill.
Now, when they get back to Quail Hollow,
I'm gonna be first in line.
We're like, why the, are we back here?
Like, we don't need Quail Hollow.
We're all hollow.
Yeah.
I also think, and I don't know what this means. But I mean, if you
if you changed out the pin flags and the team markers and everything to usga stuff and you
said, this is the us open. I'd be like, yeah, sick. This is great. Guys would probably be
bitching. Probably. Yeah. It's kind of funny.
Yeah, man, like they just sold out of some golf course.
But yeah, funny. This is one of those weeks where Randy, it's almost like you get the predator
handshake meme between you and the players.
That's why everybody's saying it's super fair and Randy loves the golf course.
That doesn't usually happen.
That's a very thin, then diagram.
Exactly.
No, my friends just way deep in the architecture scene do not like the setup.
That's true.
Are you sure you had a good time watching it today?
Because there's a lot of people saying that actually you might not have.
But actually this is not fun.
And like people, I'm so sick.
No, sorry, Teezy.
I am so sick of this notion of like a perfect shot needs to get rewarded.
It's just take that away.
Oh my God.
Take that away forever.
There is no freaking such thing as a perfect shot
Like let's wait till the ball stops and then we can say whether it was the perfect shot or not
I if I never hear that again. It will be too soon. I
Freaking hate that I've I've said this a ton and I feel the same way about the like ball and the divot in the fairway
Where everybody loves to jerk off to like golf is such a gentleman's game golf it really represents life you know if you really
think about it's a great metaphor for life until anybody gets like the slightest bit of unfair
edge and so what the fuck fuck the USGA fuck this divot this is unfair I want sometimes It's like, yeah, I want some times just like that.
All of those guys need to be like
the biggest cheerleaders for the tomorrow sports league then
because that's exactly what they're asking for.
They want any little tiny variability
that comes into play out of it.
Like a perfect shot is literally you making
flush contact with the golf ball.
Anything after that just brings everything
that we love about golf into play.
Totally agree. And then they say like, oh, the great shots aren't being rewarded versus the good
shots. It's like, no, they are. It's like, sometimes they are. Sometimes there's just a little bit of
variance in there. And like, at some point, we need to play the games. This is what pisses me off
about all the probability stuff and the strokes game bullshit and all these models and all that. It's
like, guys, at some point, like, we're 18 holes into this thing
and we're 27 holes into it or 36 holes into it now.
And like, I don't care what the,
like, there's not a 52% chance that
Scotty Shuffler's gonna win this thing.
We're just gonna play the golf tournament
and see where everything lands.
Like, that's the thing.
If you wanna run a fucking simulation, run a simulation.
But it's the same thing with like,
what you're talking about, Randy.
It's like, it's like not everything.
Like, there's variables and there's weird shit
and there's the human element and there's,
there's heart and there's grit and all that.
That's what got me so excited about Rory's round today
because I'm like, you know what, like Rory is,
like Rory is showing the human side of Rory.
I love it.
I'm sorry this is amazing.
I do, I want to bring in an expert who hails
from the great city of Chicago.
And a big math guy, big science guy.
Might have something to say here.
Yeah.
We are, of course, going to bring in Roger Steele,
who is on the ground at Oak Hill.
Roger, what's going on?
What's your day look like today?
What's up, baby?
Now, I mean, I spent the early parts of the day
trying to figure out what type of craft
these stuff feel was going to get into
after he finishes around, man.
I was expecting a big push out of him,
like a wildy vet out here.
You know, everybody kind of squirreling around,
but he came out, bro, and these players are so desperate
to hit fairways.
I've never seen so many guided t-shirts in my life.
It's like a game of darts when you're just really aiming at the dartboard instead of throwing the dice.
It was tough to watch, man.
It was such like so many have in the size of swings off the tee, man.
Who was the worst?
Phil, Phil, like for practice, he's dribbled for 45 minutes.
Then on 13, I saw him hit a bun drive that missed the feelway.
And I'm like, man, that's like getting kicked in the nuts
when you already, already down
and somebody just kick you in the nuts again.
I was like, ah, that hurts.
What have been kind of overall impressions of Oak Hills?
At your first time out there,
what have you been thinking about the golf course?
You know, I came out here last week.
We did a
segment with Sean McKeal
where we got to look at a
few holes with their
redesign. But the course is
very fair. I've never been
at a major championship
where I as a player was
excited to get out there.
That's what I'm saying.
It just, it looks like
really fair. It looks
soon. It looks good. It
looks good. It looks fun.
But the rough man, it
just, it's not the longest,
but I think that there's too many blades
that grasp per square inch.
And that's what's like getting everybody dog.
I love it.
Listen, we hadn't done, we hadn't brought in the data on that.
We've been talking more probability,
but we're going to have to get blades per square inch.
That's interesting.
Do you see Roger?
He needs to run the models on that.
Roger, let me just jump in real quick.
The commenters love it. They're wondering if you're filming another sequel to the Blair Witch Project right now.
No, I literally, we just finished my, I'm working with CBS.
We just finished our segment. So I'm, I'm walking to my car and I wanted to stay in the lighted area because it's
something weird. People in Rochester. Now I want nobody to run up on me.
Rock Nation, man.
some weird people in Rochester. Now I want nobody to run up on me.
Rock nation, man.
Yeah.
Y'all ever heard of a garbage plate before?
Yeah.
Have you had one yet?
Bro, they made us taste one on air.
And I'm like, any group of people that eat this for fun.
What was on yours?
Like, there's all sorts of options.
What was on yours?
Ah, bro. There was some potatoes, some cold macaroni, some beans.
It was like like a white hot. You ever heard of a white hot? I thought it was a putter. Turns out.
Is that a baby? Yeah, it's like a sausage or something that we have a Roger and I are both from
the great state of Illinois. If you get down to Southern Illinois, you'll start running into horseshoe territory,
which is kind of our biggest approximation
to the garbage plate,
but I think up where we're from,
we don't have a ton of those.
A lot of pizza, a lot of hot dogs.
Think of that, Nathan.
It's a history on that garbage plate, then,
bro, it came from the great depression
because that was the cheapest it to eat.
But it's like, it's kind of like your family,
when you grew up in the hood,
it's like, you don't have to stay there.
You can move on to better things.
What, uh, talk to me a little bit about what you're out there doing this week.
Plug, plug, uh, plug what you've got going on.
We working with CBS, so we did an on the range show from one, from 11 to once today.
Uh, pretty much just highlighted some players that were down at the range show from 11 to once today. Pretty much just highlighted some players that were down
at the range, pulled some coaches to the side,
tried to get some insights on what the strategy was.
Did some special feature segments on what course conditions
would like stuff like that,
had some celebrities come through.
I think we got Josh Allen coming through the mall.
And then from eight to nine,
we do the clubhouse report where we talk about just reca talk about just recap the events of the day story line stuff like that.
Michael Block was the big one though.
I thought he was gonna do something special and that's my, that's my boy, you know, that's my boy. So I've never seen somebody that was in that, on that bigger best age for the first time in that career having that much fun.
It's so comfortable.
He was so comfortable, bro.
Like on the on the not I caught
him on one.
So his 10th hole, uh, which he
went on the birdie.
But after he hit the T shot,
anybody that said his name,
he walked up to him and
tapped him up.
Like what's good, baby?
Roger, I got a question,
Florida. Who, uh, I got a question for you.
Who Michael Block is side?
You know, when we're looking towards the weekend Saturday, Sunday, who do you like
in general?
Who do you like watching play golf?
Do you have guys you're kind of pulling for?
I'm curious who gets you going.
I mean, I don't know like why it's so taboo to say this, but I'm a big Brooks
Keppka fan, bro. I love that for sure. Yeah. Yeah, I feel like it's you know, I
feel like he get mixed reviews every time you bring his name, which I think
that's why he's interesting to watch, right? Polarize a figure, but I was walking
with him. I was what I was following him, Shaffhler, and Gary Woodland the day. And he, we were walking with some kids from Famu.
They gave us all inside the ropes access.
And obviously he went to college in Florida.
He stopped.
He was like, hey, man.
What the hell is he like these days?
And they're like, it's still nasty, dog.
He's like, yeah, that's how I was remembering, too.
But it's just like he's just a cool dude, man.
So I really, I like the way he finishes round today.
And I like that Rory is hanging around.
I like that Justin Thomas and Jordan Speed fought that hard
to make the cut.
I think it's, you know, the chef's story, I mean,
I think that, you know, he's cool to watch, man,
and he's easy to root for.
I just, some of the mechanics of his swing
made me worry about the longevity of his career.
Everybody trying to tell me that it's super fundamental,
fundamentally sound.
He's got, he, he, Roger's had back issues already.
So, bro, I guess it is.
I feel like it's just gonna, like,
I feel like it's gonna come crashing down.
That's too much strain on that lead side, baby.
I don't know.
I don't know.
But it's a lot of good stories now as I feel out here, man.
And I do think that somebody that's not,
maybe not even on the first page is gonna win this stuff.
Ooh, I like that.
We're just, I don't think it's smooth selling
for Shefford up, bro.
I don't buy that narrative.
We just got done gassing up Rory in a very big way. So maybe it'll be him. and and the the
the
the
the
the the
the
the
the
the the
the
the the the
the
the
the the
the
the
the the the the the talk slowly. For yourself, man. Yeah, be yourself. And if it's live, just know that everybody,
everybody fuck up dog. There you go. Love it. Well, uh, Raj, we'll let you go. We can stay on with
you till you get back to your hotel room if you're worried about it. Otherwise, we could let you
let you head out. Bro, do you have darkened your face weight up from?
Actually, look, it's get you over there, man.
Well, good luck.
Hey, set us the text when you get back home and safe, and we'll look for you on CBS tomorrow.
It's very kind, bro.
I would definitely see that text.
All right, man.
Thanks for hopping in.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
See you next week.
All right.

podcast and boys, anything else we need to empty the notebook, empty the chamber before we call it
a night. I got plenty more on the leaderboard guys. I mean, we got Shane Lowry, 67 today. Really, really nice round. And
Bogie, his last two holes, like he was, he was hunting from 10 through 15 there. He was,
he was 500 on six holes in the back there, birdied eight as well. So and then kind of,
kind of cooled off at the end there. But I think he's, he's right there in the mix.
He's also, I'm just going to, I know you hate it.C. I'm sorry. I know you hate it. He's he's right in that Corey Conner's
sustainability. He's won a major before he has. He also has been putting like dog shit for like a
year and a half just just something to look out for. So you know, so is Tommy. Sure. So yeah,
that's true. That's never stopped me before. Uh, Keegan, yeah, we don't need to talk about Keegan.
I, I think we do need to talk about Keegan. I still think, I know he, he kind of faltered late,
but I still think this is a very Keegan friendly golf course. I think, I think he could,
I think there could be 65 lingering there.
I don't like it any more than you do. I'm just I'm not I'm not writing them off necessarily.
KVV was gassing him up last night and his white white hoodie and everything is his
God mode outfit.
KVV the white.
The snowman.
Matt Matt Nysmith is T10 shot 70 70.
This is news to me.
Good good for him.
His music. I don't really listen to it
Cam Davis. I can't believe I didn't pull the trigger on Cam Davis. I've mentioned it in the preview. I was too too cowardice
The lushness of the course kind of turned me off the sand to a little bit
Cam Davis might be the best thoughts you're in golfer in the world right now
Well, I would say Adam Scott, but
You could make a play for Min Woo,
you could make a play for Min G.
Adam Scott shot 74 today.
God, I thought he was up there a lot higher.
He was, and he kind of faltered.
DJ, buying or selling?
I was kind of selling yesterday.
He was kind of...
He was trying for years yesterday.
Was bad in round one, and I think it caught up to him.
We talked to Katelyn a little bit with with every I feel like solid kind of forced us into a false confession.
Yes, it was kind of an entrapment situation. Yeah, it was. He really put the hot lights on us, Randy.
You know, got us got us really like feeling bad about ourselves. And we apologized for Katelyn. I'd like to
rescind that apology.
You know, we were the three of us were on that block early this week.
We should have kept the faith.
He didn't read you Miranda right?
No, he did do anything.
He's got a long day in court coming ahead of him.
I'm still.
Yes, I did make a play on Patrick.
So I thought this was a good setup for him.
I was bitterly, bitterly disappointed, which I make clear last night.
He obviously had a great round today. I'm going to need to see something tomorrow. We're going to have
to back it up. We're going to have to verify it, Patrick. If he comes out and shoots, you know, 73, 74, it's
like GTFL, man. I'm done. I'm good, I had some more notes from last night's pod too.
Randy, I thought you go into ride for Mikkelson's major record post, like 40 years old.
Like it's insane.
How many majors? Yeah. I mean, 50.
It's crazy. Yeah. It's like, like, I don't think like, like people need to give him proper
respect for his golfing ability. It's true. Even lately.
Also, I want to refute the, like, I can't get the Harris English
information from a better source than Davis, love a third.
And it's just I'm just this project.
He was a false prophet.
I'm just saying you're putting me in a bad spot because people are
coming to me being like, what's up with Harris English?
I thought, and I was like, this was like, this was not through my channel.
I apologize.
This was not my source.
Again, I'll apologize for that first and foremost.
I love KVV's take about live being a test lab,
like where you can just kind of,
throw shit at the wall.
You don't have to worry about, you know, it like,
it's okay.
Yeah, you don't have to worry about a whole lot of anything.
I thought the pin on the first holder day was great.
One thing I'd like to see, like,
it was just like a good preview of like,
hey, here's what you're gonna see all day.
You're gonna like, you know, there's this slope on the left
and you're gonna have to force it back beyond that
and, you know, into this little corner there,
little corner pocket action.
What I'd like to see more of tomorrow, I'd like to see him move the tee up on 14. Yeah, we were talking about that all day.
It's two days in a row of and again, this is kind of a Thursday Friday thing.
They're not going to have it play super short one day and super long one day in case the
weather's weird.
Like it's going to be pretty equitable Thursday and Friday. But two days in a row of just watching literally everybody banging into that front bunker.
It was kind of boring.
So it was sick to see speed go up like taco.
Truly just hit it out of the stadium.
Yeah.
No doubt.
Middle middle just the hanging sliders. Grelor said his head almost exploded up.
Which granted the GF of Grelor
from when they were having a long conversation
about something earlier on around.
It's like the Alonzo morning.
I was really disappointed, Morac I caught a birdie 18 because I was really getting
ready to commend him on a on a good solid round today. Just can he make a run? Maybe not
the rain. I know that goes against some of his dome go for it. He started to play better when
the rain started happening. Like he birdied 10 and 12 and, you know, really, really
good birdie on 15.
Um, I don't know where I'm at with more color.
I feel like I need to go on and kind of a deep dive.
I need to, I need to reach out to some sources and you see kind of what's going on there
because it's, it's just kind of a forgotten man.
We kind of said that in the preview pod too.
It just kind of, it's just kind of another guy, you know, which is, which is frustrating.
You kind of want him to be the dude.
Like we, we keep saying, I mean, it's so random, but like at the, we want somebody to get
to five, like you said, TC, right?
And it's like, well, fuck, man, it would help if the guy that has two already would rack
up a couple more.
That would be great.
We're show some signs at least.
It doesn't work like that.
But yeah, it would be fun if it was a little closer. And with you, Mito's in the mix. Mito plus one, he's T19, Eric Cole took a step back today,
74. I'm a huge foot joy guy. I just, I wonder on those shoes that Eric, those particular
model that Eric Cole wears. So it always the classic shoes and the joggers.
It's just always, it's always tough.
Yeah, but there's so many other like fun,
like the hyper flexes and all that stuff
that I can wear with the joggers.
So Foxy took a step back today.
KH Lee took a step forward.
68 for him. It's impressive.
Harold Varner, hell of a finish.
Right.
Birdied four of his last five.
Kind of a weird course fit guy too.
Yeah.
Yeah, good for him.
That was a great finish.
What a loss, Mark.
Yeah.
Let's, why do we pick our spots here?
Okay.
All right.
I'm impressed with Saahith, 71-71.
I did not see this as being a fit for him with how wayward he is off the T
Totally. I think he'll be a great fit at more of like an LACC
C1 Kim 75 68
What many many people were asking after the jokes last night if we had sent KVV out with C1 Kim
We can say we did not that was that was outside of our influence
with C1 Kim, we can say we did not. That was outside of our influence.
KVV the taste maker, the bump, he did not,
did not put his finger on the scale for C1 Kim,
that was all him.
We've got P and Tommy playing together tomorrow.
Ooh.
House divided for UTC.
Yeah, Tommy is like 126,
they're 130th in the FedEx cup.
Or sorry, in the in the Stroke's game,
putting category this week, not good. I don't know why I the FedEx Cup. Or sorry, in the in the Stroke's game, putting category this week, not good.
I don't know why I said FedEx Cup.
That's really concerning.
Listen, I'm not gonna apologize for Tommy.
It's he's he's he's doing exactly what I thought
he was gonna do, all striking wise.
He just hasn't he didn't put well on Thursday.
He might need to look into the some of the stuff Ben Hogan was suggesting
towards the end of his career.
Whereas golf should just be like,
you just hit it into a big funnel
and there's no putting involved.
And like that would really identify the best golfers.
I can share, I can share some more information
on that with you.
Like Randy was talking last night about his whole,
like, you know, majors, kind of like big dick player stats.
Yeah, yeah. Structain bright lights.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like, I think that's like, I think if you looked at that, like Tommy's stats are really
good in majors.
So I think like he would shine in that category.
You were have to check.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I know he has had some good majors.
I absolutely.
Yeah.
And like getting back to the PGA championship thing, it's like, what is the PGA championship?
I think the PGA champion should be like the stuff that we don't get to see on the PGA tour
all that often. Yeah, which I think we're seeing this week, right? Yeah, exactly.
It's like, that's why we get so pissed when it goes to Quail Hollow, because we get to see that
shit every single year, right? Yeah. I got a name to bring up.
Just, what do you think about your guy, Big Tones, around the neck?
Yes, tough, Randy.
And, you know, not the week we're wanting.
You know, I know I've always obviously been a lifelong Big Tone guy.
I should say, our guy, Big Tone.
Yeah, our guy.
It's kind of disgusting that you try to distance yourself after all. After after all we've been through. No, it's just not good. It's not
good this week. A lot of sloppy mistakes. Just runs into bad luck. He doubles the part
five for us. This is a bad luck. Can you weirdly put it like kind of decent, like kind of
great yesterday and just kind of shout the bed again today lost almost three strokes on the
greens today that's that's not going to get it done hasn't drove it really well hasn't
really is is approach play hasn't been great which again if you're in a lot of you know
if you're not missing if you're missing a lot of fairways tough to keep that stat up but
it's just you know just wasn't good I had I would point people towards my sheffler pick
I'd point people towards my can't lay pick I'd point people towards my Sheffler pick. I'd point people towards my can't lay pick. I'd point people towards my Rory pick
But I will certainly wear the big tone pick as well
I do want to say a big tone. He was absolutely wearing a pole over when I said that he looked great yesterday
So what do you think is more likely to see that you possibly just made a mistake?
Which I do sometimes the fact that Tone was carrying two pullovers,
one false flag yellow one,
that you were apparently the only one to see,
and then one black one for later in the round.
What would you say is more like,
if you were me, what should I believe?
You looked like a cubist, big bird yesterday.
I mean, really, really bad stuff. Which speaking speaking of outfits we haven't gone through outfits today.
Speed self it today bad horrendous.
Yeah, in the in the in the USA KT.
Yeah, what is that?
I don't know.
I think it's for the wrist injury.
No, I know the KT tape.
Why did it?
Why why the hell is was a on it today?
I did not know.
He's a proud patriot.
Yeah.
Reaks of what our guys across the pond
said about Ricky Fowler's haircut in that
in that Ryder Cup thuggish jingoism.
I mean, the shirt looks like a
like a Rorschach test or something.
It's it's better than.
Stay with me. It looks better than stay with me.
It looks a little more teenage than little boy
that he's usually dressed up.
He looks like he's kind of coming to do his own
and at least making his own fashion choices,
which they don't have to be good,
but at least they're different.
At least it's not just the big block stripes, you know?
It's like picture day in like eighth grade.
In like 1972.
No, that would have played as a short sleeve button down
or something.
Sure, yeah, kind of a party boy, aesthetic.
Exactly.
Which today wasn't the day for party,
it was let's lock it and grab your lunchpale,
go to work.
Exactly, this is not like casual Friday, man.
Any thoughts on Ram?
Did we talk about Ram already?
68 after this.
Let's keep going, because I want to talk.
Let's talk Hoblin's outfit to keep it on outfits real quick too.
Because I think Hoblin's outfit, like, like,
like, like, Sully, Sully was saying like,
he didn't have a problem with the shirt yesterday or whatever.
I just, I don't even have a problem with these pants.
He looks like Derek Dooley with the pants.
But.
Someone said with the orange pants and the orange stripes, it looks like he's got the
sandy liles suspenders on.
He looks like a Tennessee volunteer fan, where I'm like.
It's crazy, man.
It's not good. And I've mentioned this last
night, but I'll continue to say it. And maybe this is even feeding some of my like his general,
you know, my observations are perceived observations on his general over it. I think he just is
done answering questions about the fashion. Things like, dude, they fucking send me what
they send me. I'm trying to win majors out here, man. I don't know what to tell you.
Like, they could they could make him look good if they want to.
Like they make a lot of really nice,
good looking stuff and he's like he likes neutral tones
or they could do very, very bright stuff in spots
and it's just like, no, they're just leaning into the badness.
It's crazy.
I want to shout out Joel Damon for making the cut.
Great start.
Didn't see that one.
That'll after 74 yesterday. Nicolai Hoigard. Patrick Harrington made the cut. Love seeing
that. T-shirts made the cut. 76 68 from Chez. Just a scout team performer there. Zander Shoffley kind of kind of righted the ship after that Just terrible to botcher a start there
Cam made the cut rom rom battle
Rom battle to make the cut let's start. He did he was always gonna battle and that's solid called it yesterday
Like you know, let's he's not gonna miss the cut like yeah, I know he's got 76
But like he's he's still gonna like probably finished at the top 20, which is kind of the guy that looked like we saw today.
He hit the shit on the ball, just missed a lot of putts.
We're starting to get really hot under the collar, Randy in our slack.
Of course, invoked the runner test.
It was going after the fan.
He was pissed after a let.
He hated 11, I guess, because his iron shot didn't hold the green and then on 12
I think he got you know some noise in his back swing immediately drops a club and starts taking off his club
And then aggressive manner and I was like oh boy someone in the somebody in the gallery is gonna have that Ron our test guy
Fucking PGA nice whole fun PGA which to your point T.C., I think the great thing about Ram is like, man, get all
that stuff out on the golf course.
And then I think once he signs his card, he's just like, yeah, what do you want to talk
about?
Like world politics?
Like, yeah, let's just discuss.
And he's just, he's great.
He's super measured, super thoughtful.
Uh, so listen, everybody's got to get it out in a different way.
I get it.
Uh, Deid, you were, I thought you sold a little bit too early on Taylor Montgomery last
night.
It was disappointed.
It just hasn't been good.
It's just an a pump and dump thing.
I know.
We're riding it out.
We're long.
Okay.
I'm trying to look at his, his, uh, yeah, just not a lot of green on that, on that data golf
sheet.
A lot of mishcuts.
He's, uh, his approach plays been really down is like strokes getting off the T's been
really, really down, not driving it well. Uh. So I don't know. I mean, listen, very, very hot start.
We just don't want to see him fall in any kind of sophomore slump sort of sort of
vibe, but making the kind of major championship. Great step in the right
direction. We've got Hatton and Mikkelson playing together tomorrow.
I should be chaotic. That's a really good one to go out and follow early.
That will be on when we're on on ESPN. Well, I was going to say kind of our last, our last
order of business, any, any thoughts on kind of who we want to lock in on tomorrow. I
know, you know, we don't have a ton of, we don't have a ton of say over it. They're going
to kind of let us know who it is, but who are you rooting for? I think the cam Smith,
John Romperings, pretty interesting. That's what attractive. for? I think the cam Smith, John Rom pairings. Pretty interesting.
That's what I'm attractive.
Yeah.
Um, I think, you know, we'll probably get a lot of Justin and Jordan playing together.
Her their friends. They're not playing together.
They're not playing together.
No, that'd be ZJ and NJT.
Yeah.
Yeah. T.C.
I know would be huge for you.
Jordan and Leihards is.
Okay.
That's a miss. That's a miss.
That's a miss.
Let's talk about some guys that didn't make the cut that were
disappointed in too.
Please.
Fits.
I feel like I mean, fits and came young for me as it's kind of
the the headline.
That's the thing.
Came came young.
It's like, it's like, hey, man, like I can't trust you.
Like you keep like breaking curfew and like doing it.
Yeah.
It's like you shave this week.
I know you're trying to grow up, but like, I'm going to, I'm going to bring
in Cody for this one.
Cody, anything to say?
Shade is so hard for Cammy Young.
Hey, we're still coming.
Don't worry.
We got two more majors last this year. We'll be good
Sounds been good. But this is like, you know, everybody was it was all over him. He said he loves playing because he's really fucking good man
He is really fucking good. So what's what's going on? Clearly he's working on something. I don't know
We can't clip it like he's he's been bad the last like three weeks
like he's been bad the last like three weeks specifically.
And I thought for some reason coming home, playing in that nice, brisk spring, New York weather,
play city felt comfortable.
He talked about, like, yeah,
I love playing Springgolf in New York state.
And it's just not there.
Honestly, like, I know we talked about it.
I was all in on the catty.
Maybe not.
Maybe Paul's not the guy for him.
Uh, he used to be pretty decisive.
It seems like there's a lot more chatter and stuff now.
And I'm like, didn't move his mark back today.
I know. It just seems like there's a lot of like these.
All that bad signal for sure.
For sure. Yeah.
And that could have changed the entire arc of golf history.
Right.
So what's going on?
I honestly, you know what?
A lot of the a lot of the cream kind of rose at the last minute and made the cut.
So I don't really have much else on the Miss cut.
I mean, big dick Rick.
Obviously, that's a disappointment with how well you're playing.
See what the stallings for doing the interview today,
like well outside the cut line, great attitude there.
I actually gleaned something from that interview too.
He's like, hey man, I'm trying to work on this
and it's an opportunity to get a rep here,
get a rep there.
I think that's interesting.
I think,
Walking Neeman is,
yeah, true.
On reflection, maybe the guy I wish would not have gone to live.
Yes. He's a guy that I've had a lot of time.
Total bummer. I love his game. I love that, you know, he's South American golfer.
We need we need more folks from that part of the world. But, you you know coming out and missing the cup badly at majors like yeah, I don't I don't like that at all
I think Taylor Gucci like
Dude like don't don't bitch about
Hop in in the US open field
We can just your your 10 over and like yeah, and you didn't say like sign up for sectionals like get the fuck out man
It's gonna be a
Thank you. Thanks for no thanks. KVV random down the world's best player KVV random down and ask why he didn't sign up for sectional He said I'm a calendar. It's just too busy man
Do it. It's got he's got OTA is with the range goods
Big Bob McIntyre I was disappointed in this one. 76, 76.
I did. You know, with him. And this is an
I got you. I think he's like, yeah, I think he's just like
worn down and like he's he's burning up both ends trying to make
this rider cup team. And there's no world golf ranking points up
for grabs. So he has to play in a ton of events to get enough
world golf ranking points to get into these majors
Hugging took a run out of on Twitter today that I didn't appreciate
Because it you know like this is like his first Miss cut in like eat majors or something like that
Like the guy shows up. He just I worry about his ceiling though
The other guy that like just totally confounded me this week sung J.M. 80 73
Wait that surprises you?
Yeah, I mean, come and feed him.
Just flew back, he wanted Korea.
I was talking to myself into like,
oh, he plays every week, he's, you know, he's jet like.
He plays every week, he tied, he tied, JJ killing.
Yeah.
Sungjae is like one of the best ball sugars in the world.
Come on, I hope you can do it.
We were.
We were.
Yeah, we were dead for two weeks.
He's like, like, what a
global party. I don't know. It has to be,
it has to be a sponsor or a Korean national obligation
or something like that. There had to have been something tied to it.
Yeah.
Uh, Dej, our, our Bermuda Burns hunch was correct.
Yeah.
So what is Sam Burns, man?
Is it I'd see like a world-beater or not?
Because it really seems like not.
I'm not gonna turn it out.
I'm gonna guess.
No, but just crazy, man.
Like, do you want the match play like a couple months ago?
It was just like, oh, yeah, no, he's the dude.
He's going to win 20 times on the PJ tour, which he still might, but God, he flames out
hard when he, when he flames out.
It's crazy.
Randy, are you at all concerned about the waves?
You know, are there going to be any asterisks with, why not really late guys played about
a almost a shot, shot in the third easier?
It was a life be like that, TC.
It does be like that.
It was a touch of a crowning this afternoon
with just the moisture and,
although the win laid down late Thursday as well,
but just that little bit of moisture,
I think softened stuff up.
It was a touch of a crowning, which is unfortunate.
I think Lord Willing, we can start playing these things
in a simulator where nobody has to deal with these. I think Lord Willing we can start playing these things in a simulator where nobody has
to deal with these.
I just my whole thing is my whole thing is how am I supposed to know who's playing the
best golf.
I literally how am I supposed to know.
Sorry.
I'm sick of my friend Andy.
I love Andy.
I also love arguing with him.
But I'm like dog it's the leaderboard man.
I don't know what
she like. What anything else? Should we wrap it up? How far back? I say two overs, two
far back.
Plus four plus four. I think plus three is still in the mix. What are the three?
But if it gets a little softer tomorrow, we've got, we've got Max Hadecki, Tommy.
We haven't talked about Max. I haven't talked about Max.
All three over that that two footer on 18 was such a kick in the nuts.
It was. I mean, he bungled six, but God, he was fighting out there.
He made so many putts.
I mean, I mean, five birdies.
Super, super hot start.
And it kind of, I had this in my notes, what we were talking about yesterday, like this
place just ebbs and flows so well, right?
Like when you're striping the driver and hitting fairways, you legitimately can make birdies.
And as soon as you just take your eye off the ball a little bit or as, you just man it it's there's just disasters out there for like long stretches
Some of his little recovery shots today. We're so fucking insane. I was like damn
The pros got it. What are we doing?
I'm still bullish. I'm still bullish. I think he's going to have a good weekend. I really do.
I have it.
It's kind of following the same same playbook as as the southern
knows.
Yeah, I really insert himself until pretty late in the game on
Saturday and then he plays really well.
Yeah, I think they what what he doesn't turn it on till they call
them games getting deep in the frames.
Hopefully it goes out a couple more bowling shirts this weekend. And we know he's a mother.
So if it's if it's wet and messy tomorrow, yeah, I love it.
And Joe's a mother too.
I was going to ask you though, T.C. real quick, those guys at plus three,
like, what's the number they have to shoot? That's my only like, right?
I just like that. Yeah, I know. I get it.
I shoot like nine at work. Six six I know I get it. Shoot like 59 at work.
6666.
I get it.
You got to you got to go out and shoot like I think 65 gets those guys back into it.
Though like if you got and shoot 65.
And then you know, especially early and then like that was something else too.
It seems like with the like you know, those cameras are so good that they have out there
that you can see some of the moisture and some of the spike marks kind of accumulating by the holes.
I feel like it's, you know, those bent greens, they get tougher to make putts on late, late in the day.
So these guys can go out, put well, a little bit of an advantage there and then kind of, you know,
go in, rest up, but I think 65 is out there, man, I do.
And I think, I think Tommy, like, he's hitting the ball well well enough to shoot 65 the putters just got to get a little bit hot and we're there and people are
gonna say I'm crazy and trying to talk this into existence maybe I am a little bit crazy
maybe I'm trying to talk to you in existence but like he's he's hitting it so fucking well
I know we're talking about max I didn't realize we're back on Max too or P. I mean any like any of those three guys
Yeah, I mean maybe
Maybe I'd like to introduce you to my friend Hideki Matsuyama at some point T.C
If you if you really think this putters gonna heat up
Maybe maybe well. I mean Hideki won the Masters though. It's true. Could happen
Hey, baby boy Neil is on on ESPN today for a little bit.
He was.
You guys doing the Cadi.
Yep, you guys doing research, how you preparing for tomorrow.
It's pretty big thing.
Big deal.
Ready.
We're ready.
I think I absolutely love the time slot because I think it's going to be kind of a like,
yeah, we got three hours from 10 to one Eastern. I don't think it's going to be birdies and bogies talking about like living and dying with every golf shot. I think it's going to be a lot of big
picture kind of recapping the week conversation with some occasional breaks to talk about what we're
seeing and fun stuff and the gallery and all kinds of stuff. I'm thrilled. I think it's going to be
blast. Are you worried about Cousin? No, I think we'll be okay. I got him all out tonight.
I think we're coming. I think we're coming. If everyone can do it, I feel like I'm all right.
If that cam rom pairings T in office, like right as we're coming on the air, I think that's
you know, that's out there. Hatten and Michelson, Fina and Kirk.
If we've got Patrick Rogers and Kazuki Higa,
if that's up your alley.
Sure.
All sorts of stuff going on.
And then we've got kind of some stuff
midway through that's starting up.
Like the P, Tommy, Sahith, JT Poston,
Colin Workau, Adam Scott,
that's a premium match up there. So yeah.
Well, looking forward to it. We will see everybody on ESPN plus tomorrow at 10 a.m.
And then of course, we'll have continued live shows tomorrow night.
ESPN plus again, Sunday morning live show again, Sunday night.
Boys, this was a really fun one. Thanks to Matt, every thanks to Roger steel for hopping on
and we hope Roger's home safe. We hope Roger's all right. Check your phone.
I will. I'm going to have to check my texts and boys,
thanks for chopping it up. Who you got,
Deach? So Scotty? Scotty? Randy, who you got? I hate to
say Scotty. Wow. Okay. Tomorrow, listen, tomorrow is another
day though, TC. We'll see. All right. Thanks for tuning I'm not going to be a little bit more little bit more little bit more little bit more
little bit more little bit more
little bit more little bit more
little bit more little bit more
little bit more little bit more
little bit more little bit more
