I'm going to be the right club today.
Yeah. That's better than most.
How about in?
That is better than most.
Better than most.
Expect anything different.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the No-Ling of podcast and no-ling of live show, whatever you prefer, either way it's presented by our friends at the high noon,
sunsips.
I got my gentlemen friends, Tron and Randy joining me this evening.
Good evening, boys.
How are we doing?
We're doing great.
Happy to be back.
It's a beautiful day here in Denver.
It was a fun day watching golf.
Excited for the show.
Yeah, grapey and with you guys spent some great time this morning.
I'm just going to get out of it.
I'm going to apologize for the calum Terran take. There you guys have it. That's the T.C. way. We're going to get out in front
of it. You guys don't have to ask me to apologize. I will apologize up front.
I'm going to get out in front of that with an ad read from our friends at high
noon. This show is of course brought to you with our friends at high noon. And we
got a special one for you tonight. Randy too close for missiles. He's switching
to guns. You know, he's been on the pool pack.
Now he's on the tequila.
Crack that thing open.
We've got a passion fruit.
Randy, we're going to do a one-sip taste test here.
Let's see what it tastes like.
Are you a big tequila guy?
Full disclo...
Oh, yeah.
Tequila makes my clothes fall off.
I've never tried a tequila one before.
Here we go.
Really?
Well, it's nice. Interesting to start with passion fruit. It's nice. Very light. Very light. Before in the pack. It's honestly, I would say for people such as my
sister who gag at the smell of tequila, it's like, you could have handed me that. I don't think I
would have guessed that was tequila. And it's very understated, very light.
It's great.
And I know TC is ripping from the high noon pool pack.
The pool's open down there in Jack's beach.
We know that as always, the high noon pool right now.
Actually, you may even hear him.
Drinking the show.
Hopefully, hopefully not crushing high noons.
As always, the high noon pool pack is made with real vodka.
Real juice has 100 calories, gluten gluten free and no added sugar.
Look for high new none drizzly or at your local convenience or liquor store or visit high new
and spirits dot com to find it near you.
Gentlemen, let's start with the same, the same place we started last night.
Who won the day today?
Randy, let's, let's start with you.
Who won?
It's gotta be kept.
Let's start with you. Who won? Uh, uh, it's gotta be Kebka.
Kebka, I mean, went out and put a stamp on this tournament 66 today.
TC, what a call this morning on ESPN.
I think your your associates were ridiculing you for that call that a 65 might be out there.
But Brooks had a putt for it on 18, just a fabulous round. I know it had to feel
good for him paired up with Bryson, a solo leader going into Sunday. To me, that's the
only answer.
I agree.
Five was out there and nobody shot it. Just for the historical record.
Yeah, I mean, 64 was out there. 63 was out there. Brooks makes some plots.
Ioretically.
Yeah.
So yeah, I mean, DJ, do you want to apologize for that? For right right off the top here?
I was kind of thinking maybe later we'll go into an alternative.
We'll kind of alternate apologies if that's because I have, yeah,
I've got a lot in my queue and I don't want to play any favorites.
Uh, T.C. Who obviously Brooks won the day, but who else you want to, uh, you want
to donate? Oh, gas up, hoblin a little bit.
I think hoblin, hoblin showed me something down the stretch there.
The birdies on 11 and 12 were really, really strong.
Disappointed in the bogey on on 18 there, but I think, I think hovelin kept it together.
Didn't make any of those kind of crazy mistakes that we typically see on a Saturday from him.
Overall, I'm just really, really glad to see that the lead is like at six. I was
hoping for that five or six territory that these guys wouldn't break out ahead. DJ had already
written Scotty down for like a 66 today, like a four shot lead. And thankfully, that's
not the case. We've got a golf tournament on Sunday.
Yeah. And you're getting ahead of it. That's going to all be part of the apology tour.
Please don't worry about that.
We've just given a preview.
The whole tour is very synchronized with pyrotechnics and lighting cues for the whole
tour.
So we've kind of started on time.
Otherwise, it's not going to quite line up.
Is live nation running the tour for you?
They are.
So I'll apologize for the tickets in advance to you.
I mean, just $57 service fees on all the tickets for the apology tour. It's not good stuff.
I'm going to nominate, I think two people, Corey Conner's going to be part of the apology tour.
I didn't see him sticking around today and played a really, really nice round of golf with the lead.
I still just conceptually, physically, emotionally. I don't know what happened with that drop. Maybe
we can get into that later.
But Corey nice round of golf to hang in there.
And also the artist formerly known as the Big Golfer.
Bryson, he had a quote after the round.
He said, it's all about ball striking,
no matter what physical form I take on.
I thought that's the funniest fucking thing
I've ever heard of my life.
I don't know why more people are not laughing about this
as our friend Dave Ruff pointed out. The guy must be listening to Toul or something.
He's just, he's really thinking about pushing his physical and emotional states.
It's just, God is good to see Bryson back. Unfortunately, I got to tip the cap to Justin Rose.
Awesome round.
Yeah, that sucks.
I got that one bank for the apology to her once the show starts.
And of course, Rory is still in there.
You know, we're still five back of, of Brooks who looks like he's, he's playing pretty
unconscious golf right now.
But also we've got Hoveland and BK in the final group.
Tomorrow two guys that have been in this position. And have also like violently shit the bed in majors recently.
And I can not wait to watch us to in a final group.
What a like kind of borderline dream final group,
I think from a golf sicko really, really hard golf course
standpoint.
I mean, this is like ball strikers are us.
Yeah.
Like Brooks, Hoveland, Conor's, Bryson, team Rose,
Sheffler, Rory,
like there's there's like,
like lock.
My block zero,
zero pretenders among
stack group Kurt Kurt,
Ke'yama rising up the board.
Minwoolie, Shane Lowry,
Brady's got Victor Perez.
Yeah, Fleetwood.
We haven't even got married yet. We'll get there
Because we're still going down the leaderboard. He's like eight back, but I'm sure we'll get to eventually
Let's let one one more nominee if I may for a winner of the day golf the supers
I you know, nobody loves and respects the supers more than me
And I think today was a perfect example. Why that course,
Oak Hill held up phenomenally well in a lot of rain.
And so credit, credit to the course, credit to the supers,
just a fantastic day. You guys, you guys might have been the real MVP.
You know, I know you're doing a bit, but you're also kind of serious.
I can tell. No, I know. I know. Yeah. You're pretty earnest. I, I almost know you're doing a bit, but you're also kind of serious. I can tell.
No, I know.
I told them to there.
Yeah.
You're pretty earnest.
I almost feel like you don't know which way you're going.
That's how I like it.
Like the PGA of America throws the, like your local club pro on there, like, like right
now, it's Mark Tolo de Best, your coach in Pontavid, your Florida.
They should throw the super on there as well.
Or Randy.
The supers don't, they don't have their own tournament, right?
We got to make everybody, like every tournament
they're on tournament.
They should build up Randy and then his praise trickles
down to the supers.
I think as the megaphone, as the needle, it could be,
it could be a good way to go back.
I'm calling for a walk and talk with the super tomorrow.
If CBS, they won't do that.
They're not pretty enough.
They're not proud.
They're not proud.
Yeah. Speaking of Candidys, speaking of how well Oak Hill held up today, tomorrow. They won't do that. They're not pretty enough. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not proud. They're not in the slicks. What would you see out there? What was kind of the news of the day for you?
Hello guys, I'm calling from a hurricane.
Just imagine, we didn't have the capability
to go outside like Cantor does or a guy loot turner.
So I wanted to fake it the best I could.
Really, blustery out there today.
No, actually it was a blustery.
It was rainy for sure.
Had a fun day though, like, traipsing around
and talking to people
just to sort of decide, see how disgustingly wet it was.
And super fun to just basically be like, hey, what the F do you do
when this happens?
Like, there's really no option to keep dry.
And so it was fun.
There's a real little story up on KnowingUp.com.
You can check out.
What did you pick up any specifics? I mean, that was kind of a T.C.'s directive was like,
hey, get out there and just like get me as many insights
and key learnings as possible.
Hyper-specific.
Hyper-specific stuff for how you manage the weather.
Great job as an assigning editor by T.C.
Being like, go get some details, some scenes,
don't come back until you've gotten
I think the the interesting thing is is that there is really no one strategy for playing in a rain like this
Some dudes were like yep, I'm all in on the rain jacket
I'm all in on the rain pants some guys Thomas Peters Lucas Herbert were like basically like fuck the rain jacket
Fuck I can't swing Peters was like I would shoot 90 if I were a rain jacket which seemed pretty sick.
So he was basically more sweater.
Lucas Herbert in fuck this fuck that fuck a lot of things today.
Yes, look at the server flip the bird at the ball after it looked out on eight.
It was really quite delightful.
Lucas Herbert, he didn't wear a hat the whole day which was great.
Just his hair was completely soaked.
He was like, feel my sweater.
The sweater's not bad.
So it was fun.
You know, getting to touch the players, my god.
What a treat.
It's a thrill for you.
You know, I didn't get to talk to some of the later guys,
obviously.
So I would have like to hear Bryson talk about air density
and such and how he stays dry when he's out at sea
like that.
But yeah, I think it was, the best thing I would say is that water was literally pooling
in the bottom of people's bags.
There are some people who are in range, because I heard Phil say I love playing in this
shit, just trying to sort of a classic Phil.
But otherwise, it was pretty horrendous out there,
especially in the mornings.
Tron, you said it on the ESPN coverage today.
We were watching a lot of fill.
And you could have convinced me that he was like,
one under 313.
Like, he just looked like he was relishing it,
lapping it up.
He was, I love, you know, I think you hit on it
exactly right, that it's really hilarious
that there's so many different for a game
That's like so perfectly optimized. It seems like right like everybody has their launch everybody knows what clubs
Everybody knows what wedges everybody knows all of these different things
It's funny that like when the rain starts everybody's like fuck. I don't know like I keep like the something as simple as like
Dude, I cannot wear a rage egg. What do I do if there's an inclement weather?
Yeah, it's just like seeing everybody like kind of get thrown in the blender and
Fill just immediately on the first tee be like fuck the umbrella. We're going full-rain kit
We're going double-rain gloves like I am in it and then the other guy's just like I think it was
Who was saying it in the PC their Herbert or or Peters in the piece that you wrote but like I almost just want to embrace it
Otherwise, you're just waiting under the umbrella the whole time until the very last second.
And then you got to duck back into the elements and hit your actual golf stuff, which is,
which is hilarious.
It's hilarious.
That was hard work.
It was basically like, I don't need the umbrella.
Like it's, it's just going to piss me off when I have to go.
I have to flinch when I go over the ball.
So just let me basically just, I'd be born into the rain like rain like like Bane would and Batman.
I will say, what are you doing out there? Are you, do you have an umbrella with you?
Or are you just hooded off and doing things?
I, uh, big is it's a good time to tell you that I had to expense this jacket today.
I did not bring a rain jacket with me.
I don't know if that'll get through accounting, uh, hopeful, but, uh, it was only, you know,
$38 at a little discount store.
So I, uh, I did that. You know, you get, you know, I've got pretty so it didn't hold up for very long, but it was only $38 at a little discount store. So I did that.
You know, you get, you know, I've got pretty so.
It didn't hold up for very long, but I managed to pop it
out.
My shoes are basically destroyed.
So.
Feels like maybe, you know, do you have a weather app you
could have looked at before you left Baltimore?
This feels like kind of an old goal, KVB.
I don't know if that's going to get approved or rejected.
I don't know.
We'll also see what our expense policy says.
I'm not sure. I'm not sure our expense policy is that detailed since I
helped to write it by ripping off Disney's so we'll see.
A lot of you watch. He's gonna expense the shoes too.
I can't believe he went on this fancy Gore-Tex. You could have went and got one
of those like ponchos that you get in the pouch at the gas of the
smurf ponchos. I tried. I tried that they were all sold out
Cody. So I just had to I know they and I know they got some
garbage bags in the media said. Sure. No, that's exactly what
I'm talking about. Hey, Cody, this is a this is a random one,
but while you're in here, just because we're taking all a
wide data set here, what's what's your play, you know, out in
the field, what's your play in the rain? What would
you guys do? Good thing you have. These things called waterproof clubs. They're amazing to
play in. I got these sitting right here. I also have these provided by rain pants.
My biggest thing here is that I don't care about my arms. You got to keep your core and
your hands. Your hands are the most important thing that you can keep try outside of that after your hands it's all about the
socks if you're out there KVV horrible you probably got trench foot man you
might have to go to the doctor or something tomorrow get a book into it got
to wear water proofs and you got to change your socks man. Cody I don't know
how to listen into your sock regimen after you see your feet here later that's
different that's pro long we're talking about years and years that's macro versus listen into your sock regimen after seeing the feet here later. That's different.
That's prolonged.
We're talking about years and years.
That's macro versus micro.
Yeah, for sure.
The feet, that's a different story.
Kevin, we know you were having a little trouble if anybody watched the film room getting
to your left side.
That's going to be a lot harder without a left foot.
If we lose that thing, your golf game is going to be a lot worse.
We're not talking about Tiger, but I'll go back in there.
What if I just posted up on the right side and I already do that?
I would stun to see how many guys do not like the rain gloves.
They're very anti-rain gloves of all the guys they interviewed.
Almost no one except Phil is into them, which I was a little surprised.
Not a great to-
I think you got to embrace the hell out of them.
Like you're either in or you're way out.
Because it's like a,
it's a variable on the one thing
that's keeping you grip to the club, right?
Well, I think there's little things
that can alter your closure rate and all that stuff.
I feel like very, very amateur psychology here, right?
Like I think the thing to go with the rain gloves
is obviously the touch around the greens.
And these guys have to be so freaking good
on a golf course like this, with those little nippy.
Like, imagine missing right of 15 today,
and having like that pin hanging on a cliff's edge,
and trying to like, nip one from that, you know,
filled in pond of short grass with rain gloves on
would be really tough
I feel like we just kind of botchy botchy it around when uh when we've got the rain gloves on you know
Just hit it and let it roll out these guys are probably in a slightly different atmosphere
Childs air and ride air and ride the master of the 100%
Gloves going on there. Have you noticed that a glove technology hasn't really improved that much, probably in the last like 10, 15 years or so?
Like why are they weirdly so thick still?
I don't quite get it, but Aaron Rye, the summer haze girl who's playing at Nationals
right now too, rocks the water proves all the time.
It's amazing.
Pretty heavy play for Aaron Rye to prepare for a moment like this his whole career, but
not being the field.
It's kind of tough.
KVV what else do you see out there today?
What's the vibe amongst the Western New Yorkers?
You know whichever one of you said that they wear their best bills gear it's like the
way to turn out that 100% accurate like really really some great looking bills, rain suits, a lot of bills, you know, pants,
I didn't know that bills pants were thing.
So I saw Josh Allen out there today.
Josh Allen was walking around singing happy birthday
to kids he shared birthday with.
It was quite a stunner there.
Any table breaking?
It's true, you didn't know for that.
Didn't see any table breaking.
Wood volunteer, just for the content if asked.
So if you're listening Western New York, I will come break a table if one gets sneak
gets get snuck onto the site. Cody, there's one of our social clips
tomorrow. What's the word? Yeah, you want to get that Gore-Tex expense? You know what he
got to do tomorrow, man. He got to pay the contact got.
Yeah, we're going to be paying the hyper-practor bills
for the next three and a half years.
I hate you.
You don't cover insurance.
That's out of pocket expenses.
Take the care for tomorrow.
You guys start to go fun.
You guys got the ESPN money now.
I know it's what.
I mean, I've got to listen.
I want to say congrats.
I've always wanted to work with people who are at ESPN yeah and you'll get
to it too well I mean you'll get the
hard man coach you know the dream the dream
lives on maybe maybe a few things can start a
magazine I could you know get back. It's hard to say. They told KVB to hit the portal.
And Louis.
All right, KVB, before we get you out here, let me hear either bold a well thought out,
whatever kind of prediction you want to give us. Let's hear something. Where we going tomorrow.
I think that Brooks is going to win by four. I think that Brooks is going to put on a dominant performance.
As long time listeners of this pod will know, I'm not particularly great at PGA championship
predictions.
So whether that means anything or not.
I think we can say JT played himself out of it today.
I won't say that.
You can say that, but I won't go there.
But yeah, I think Brooks is going to just basically stunt on the field.
It'll be fun.
Let me ask you this before you go.
He was very, very coy in the post-round interview with Amanda.
I don't know if you have to see that or not, but talking a lot about, I know exactly what
I did wrong at the Masters.
I will not do it again.
I have a game plan.
I know exactly what I'm doing. Would you care to wildly speculate as far as what he did wrong at the masters I will not do it again I have a game plan I know exactly what I'm doing would you would you care to wildly speculate as far as like what he did wrong
at the masters what did you see from them at the masters what do you think we'll
see tomorrow yeah I it's always so funny when golfers are like like I'm not
gonna tell you my secrets as if like someone could steal them and then
employ them themselves like well you know I thought about pronating my left wrist
wrist more and Bryson would think oh my god. I'm stealing that
I would suspect that is probably just
Don't be a pussy like play aggressive and go out there and you know attack instead of like trying to play safe
Which is funny because I think Brooks is actually one of the best players at being conservative
I think that that's what he does so well in majors is he has the discipline
He's kind of the anti-rory.
He has a discipline to hit to the middle of every grain.
He has the discipline to not get, you know, in dumbed, troubled spots.
And so I would bet that it's like finding the right mental space between aggressive and
discipline.
KVV, I think there's something there with Brooks where he figures out how to play, like
he figures out where the box is and then he tries to play to the sides of the box.
Like he's very much like he still thinks he's playing aggressively, but he's just he's just got himself on a leash.
Yeah, I mean, I mean, I think there's always whenever he ends up winning a major, which is it's been a little while, but there's moments where you think he's super boned.
I mean, like Chinacock was an example of like,
Mrs. Left that late Sunday and he's like,
all right, I'm just gonna, like,
hit this out of the bunker to 30 feet
and then he makes a safe bogey there
or he just like, he pulls something out
where you're like, oh, that's an auto double.
And he's like, now man, I'm making a bogey.
And I think that that's kind of his super strength is not ever compounding those
mistakes. So well, Kev enjoy, enjoy the night in Rochester.
Everybody go read the weather piece that he wrote this evening.
And we'll probably hear from you briefly tomorrow.
I'm sure Cody anything else.
No, I just good luck
Have I know those last five pounds are the hardest ones to lose you got your plastic son
I'm sure you're gonna get a good sweat in though hit the the treadmill the stair stepers actually where it's at
If you want to want to get that sweat going you're trying to shred all that waterway. I got you buddy coach wants me to rest go at
175 this year Cody and I'm not sure I can get there
It's gonna take some time, but we'll work on it. Little by little.
Can you see it's trickling down into the mainstream now,
T.C. employing it?
Well, I wanted to give us a variety of looks.
I have a really crispy NLU,
holding this sweatshirt on right now,
but I can't really display it,
because I got all these layers on,
so I might have to...
We're kind of seeing this.
I'm going to see it.
I'm going to see it.
I'm going to see it.
I'm going to see it. I'm going to see it. I'm going to see it. I have a really crispy NLU, you know, holding a sweat shirt on right now,
but can't really display it because I got all these layers done. So I might have to
kind of see the KVV, the KVV derelict collection, this evening, which I love. All right,
Kevin Joy, enjoy the evening. Thanks for hopping on and go, go dry out. All right, time for
another ad break.
Randy, you know that we're brought to you this evening by Rowback.
You can see it.
All the boys employing some rowback Randy.
I think kind of a Randy and I cut from the same claw kind of a what you call this charm.
Like a not like a little polka dot but kind of a little mini, mini polka dot.
You know, kind of.
I don't know, it's cool.
It's sharp. It's not sharp as what I'm wearing, but it's sorry.
I agree with that.
Robac also is fresh up a restock of the Azalea collection.
I saw an Azalea collection out in the wild the other day.
It looked great. So I'm from a mile off in a good way.
You saw a lot of those during the, during the master's live shows.
Performance polos. That's what I have on.
Four-way stretch is next level
You've heard this before the material moist. You're wicking KVV could have used a little bit of that today
You can throw them on in a warm day on the golf course. You can throw them on you know
I'm you can you can layer with them Randy. You can build a little base. You can do all of these things and then secondly the
Robax performance Qzips. I know I don't have to tell you guys about these game changers,
nothing beats a rowback QZip for a nice morning
of spring golf, soft, stretchy and comfortable,
can't take them off, Randy,
even when it starts to get a little steamy,
even when you know you got maybe a little back
so I go and you gotta keep it on.
Keep it on, keep it on.
It's so comfortable.
Yeah.
Rowback has been gaining traction big time,
go to any golf course in America right now
and you will confirm that. Next time you see someone rocking the rowback dog logo
Randy you know what do you got to do?
Oh, you got to give them that subtle nod because they know what's up.
You know, you know if they got that dog on them, they got that dog in them, right?
Jimmy, Jimmy Butler style.
That might be gosh, we're at the pass that, pass that along.
That could be the new marketing tag. Use code NLU on rowback.com for a generous, generous 20% off your first order.
That's a very good deal, guys.
I don't always say it a lot, but that's a good deal.
Take advantage of that.
Rowback HR, R-H-O-B-A-C-K dot com 20% off all polo's, Q-Zips, hoodies and more with code
N-L-U.
Try and what do you want to go next? Do you want to do some apologies? All polo's QZips hoodies and more with code NLU.
Uh, Tron, what do you want to go next? Do you want to do some apologies?
No, let's talk hovelin.
I think hovelins right there. I think he deserves to be kind of in that same conversation with Brooks.
Uh, I'm not, I'm not in the same place as KVV. I don't think Brooks is going to run away with this.
I think tomorrow is hovelin. I think hovelin wins this thing, gets it done.
But hopefully those two can kind of separate themselves, either those two separate themselves
or they both struggle and they bring everybody else
back into the tournament.
I'm not gonna put Corey Connors in his conversation.
I think we saw kind of what he's got going on there.
I see, I disagree.
It was one swing.
Was all, Corey Connors had
one bad swing, one bad contact cost him a double bogey. I was floored. That was his only
mistake today. But then he gets like I didn't understand how he got to drop it there.
That was bizarre. And then I don't know. I just I can't watch a guy get boat race the
way that he did last year in the president's cup. And then sit here on a live show and say that this guy's gonna beat Brooks,
kept Victor, Harvard, Bryce and Shambon, Justin Rose, Scottie,
Sheffler, Roy Macro tomorrow.
I just can't do it.
Can't do it, Randy.
Yeah.
Michael Block.
I tell you, Fleetwood, he is not my pick to win, but I do think he deserves credit.
He played a lot better today than I was expecting him to play.
And he's had a fantastic week.
And so it all might come crumbling down for him tomorrow.
But I certainly think he's got a shot.
He has a look.
And again, I think that that one swing in the bunker,
maybe he turns in a Bogey free round today, which is incredible.
So I wanted to give him props because I'm not sure we're really going to give him props.
I think that's right.
And I think there's something cool about seeing him do it in a different style major, right?
Like he's, he's obviously had a lot of success at Augusta.
And we kind of said that during some of the master's live shows where it's, it's
it's absolutely not that Augusta is one dimensional like that's that's not what
I'm saying, but there are guys that just seem to feast at Augusta and he kind of
seems to be one of those guys, right? And it's it's like you can't really explain
it. You can't really figure it out. There's just guys that when they get there,
they just absolutely turn it on and Corey Connors hasn't really shown up in a
lot of the other majors. He missed a ton of cuts. He had one T15 at the open,
and he had one T17 at a PGA in the past.
But all his other top 25s in majors have all been at the Masters.
A lot of miss cuts, a lot of like T64s, T46s.
And so to see him hang around on a really, really hard golf course like this is cool.
And it's very, very impressive.
No, I saw it.
Because we know he's a premier ball striker, like he hits just good as anybody on tour,
and he usually doesn't match it up with the putting and so to see it kind of all come together
on a hard golf course like this.
TC, I know, you know, right across the lake from where he grew up, that's that's very,
that is neat.
It's, it's, I think he probably has a lot of fans out there. And I got a plug, that's that's very that is neat. Uh, it's, uh, it's,
I think he probably has a lot of fans out there. And I got a plug. You know, he went to Kent State.
He's a Mack guy in Northeast Ohio, not too far away. A lot of, should honestly,
little disappointed the home game model should have sniffed to this one. But, uh,
I mean, I, I feel bad. The home game models in just everything was sniffing this for me.
And I didn't have the balls to pull the trigger. I will say there's a concerning, concerning trend line going on. He was seventh in
putting round one, 3.3 strokes gained, 25th in putting in round two, 1.7 strokes gained, lost
1.1 today, go back to 35th. So someone called those sustainability models to see.
go back to 35th.
Some of those sustainability models to see. Has been getting better off the tee though.
So like he's kind of reverting
to his more normal style of play,
the approach plays.
I know we're staying the whole week.
This is exactly you're making the case.
No, yeah, but I don't know.
I just don't see, I just don't see him like breaking out.
I see him just finishing like tied for fourth,
and it's a really good week for him,
but he's not gonna win.
That's where I'm at.
And listen, hey, no shame in finishing fourth at a major.
That's great.
But listen, if he does,
we'll be the first two apologize tomorrow,
try and get people can guarantee you that.
Listen, you know nobody pimps tied for fourth
at a major harder than I do.
Like, that's probably where Tommy's gonna finish up.
T.C., I do like Havelin.
I liked what I saw from Havelin today.
I felt like he, I think he was,
what am I trying to say?
In his post-round interview, it was a case
of couldn't make any puts.
I think he had a lot of good birdie looks. He converted a couple, but not all of them.
I like you. I'm really curious to see what he's got tomorrow again in the final group of a major. This is a fun spot to just
We're going to find out a lot about him, I think, which is which is always fun.
Driving it well. He's he's been second every single day in strome.
Unreal approach to green. which is always fun. He's driving it well. He's been second every single day in strome. Unreal.
Approach the green.
Like, you know, crazy.
We were saying that.
Saying that coming in, right?
It feels like an extremely balanced golf course
where you kind of do everything well.
And the math absolutely backs up what you're saying, Randy,
is fifth and driving today, second in approach,
and then 60 second among those that made the cut in putting.
So kind of a shout out to the cat, like worst number I could have shot today.
And he's in the final group going into going in the final round.
But let me ask you guys this, between him and Brooks.
I mean, like we've seen this movie before, maybe not these two like so clear cut favorites,
but like what makes you bullish on one of these two
over the other as far as not spitting the bit tomorrow?
Yeah, I'm not sure.
I think, I don't know, I just got a feeling about Hovelin.
I feel like he's, he's kind of been tested.
He was tested at St. Andrews.
He kind of failed the test down there, you know,
down the stretch.
And I think, I think he's taking that to heart, I think think you might have been looking off Rory's paper on that test.
Yeah, he might have been using chat GPT.
I don't even know what it was.
He's just like, it's weird though.
I don't, when he's standing over a putt, I feel like he's more, he's more prone to make
a 25 footer than he is like a 12 footer.
That makes sense.
I don't like his putt, I don't like the look of his putter,
just the physical look of that longer shaft
and that like flow neck thing that he's got.
I just don't like it.
And so it just makes me uncomfortable in that way.
But from like, if, I don't know,
he just seems like whether it's gonna be better tomorrow,
there's gonna be less variables out there.
I was really impressed with how he handled everything today,
just smooth and steady 70.
I just think he's playing the best golf right now
of anybody consistently throughout the week.
And that's where I feel like we talk about this a lot,
but the ball striking tends to show up every day, right?
Like you don't really have a guy like this
that gets to the golf course in the morning
and just like, man, I don't know what happened,
but I just forgot to hit my irons, right?
Like that, ball striking and length are usually
the two things that are like,
you know, those are gonna show up
and it's just a matter of whether
he's gonna make some pups or not.
And I guess, I mean, you could kind of say
the same exact thing for Brooks too, right?
And those are the two things that I'm gonna show up for him too.
I don't know, I just feel like it's time.
It's like he's been building towards this.
We've dogged him a little bit in the past.
Randy, what do you think?
I don't disagree with anything you said.
I think, man, it's just tough to ignore Brooks's past success.
And I know he's got scar tissue in there as well.
Obviously, I think the experience edge goes to Brooks. Now, how much of an edge
that is, I have no idea. But I do think if Brooks is being honest about learning from the
masters, it feels like he's highly, highly motivated. I don't know, he's just, he's a really tough guy to beat.
And so I think Vic is, I don't think Vic's gonna be
handed anything.
So I think Vic's gotta go out and take it.
Go win it.
And he certainly can.
I just, you know, the safe pick, obviously,
I think would be Brooks.
And that's probably the way I would lean, right?
If you would ask me, but I'm not sure if that's what I want.
We can get to predictions and stuff later.
But yeah, it's just hard to discount a guy that's one,
four times and been in final groups and has scar tissue
and is kind of on the other side of scar tissue.
It's gonna be a big task for young Victor tomorrow.
I got people in the comments here saying, like TC just said the exact same thing about Corey Connors. And it's like, no, I believe, like I believe in Haveland here. Like I
believe he's got that dog in him. I believe he's, I believe he's, he's greater than the
some of his parts that he's showed in his career thus far. And he's ascending towards
something. I think Corey Connors is just like a very good golfer.
Small, small sample size here, but just to give a peek behind the curtain for some of the, sending towards something. I think Corey Conner's just like a very good golfer. Small sample
size here, but just to give a peek behind the curtain for some of the, you know, the PJ
tour players reaction to this conversation, noted PJ tour winner Adam the shlong long
texted us today just to let us know that he unfollowed Trod for his Corey Conner's takes.
So Corey Conner's is his best friend on tour. And listen, the shlongs, the shlongs a great guy.
Who doesn't really shlongs?
The shlongs also from the Rob Manfred.
And he's friends with the, the, the, the,
the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the driving no surprise there. He is sixth in the field in
Strokes game to approach. He is chipping horribly as he typically does and he's 36th in putting, you
know, correcting, correcting a previous statement of mine about Bryce and you do got a head to do.
Just, you know, he continues to show up, man. This was another day where he
could have packed it in. He could have shot 76 and everyone would be like, Oh, yeah, there
you go. There's Bryson 54 holes. He could, they could have done all of that stuff and Bryson
showed up again, man. He had it a little squirrely early on and, and stayed in it. Now,
Dej tomorrow, everybody, I know, I know, I know. I realize that was coming out.
How does Bryson not have a shipper in the bag?
Designated shipper.
Like you don't need.
You don't need it.
Just have like a 54 or 56 or 50-eeds degree wedge that's not, you know, 70 inches long.
Or why does he take out the physical form of sevy?
What he's, what he's in some of those fucked up spots around the green.
Great point.
It's just like be water, man.
Be water around the greens.
Just gotta, gotta let it flow.
Come on.
Am I off base?
That's the funniest thing I've ever heard.
No matter what physical, no matter what physical form
I take on.
It's all about Paul Strykey.
Yeah, you know that's true.
No, that's funny.
I think bright bright like listen, Bryson could go out and win tomorrow, right? Like that's that's certainly in the cards. I
I don't have much more to here's the thing as as CBS was signing off TC. I don't know what your
model say, but it sounds like it it's going to be nice, but breezy tomorrow. And my question for you guys
is, who do we think that favors? Who's kind of the best player in in more windier conditions?
I don't know the answer to that. Lowkey, maybe Corey Connors. Yeah. Yeah, but that puts more
pressure on, but he, you know, he's going to strike it well. He's one that I didn't get.
Yeah, but open a couple of times where it's super windy.
I, you know, big text, Corey Connors.
Yeah, exactly.
Might wear the boots tomorrow.
Cody, any word if the people in the plexer,
having any kind of watch parties for Corey Connors tomorrow?
Cody, refused to come back into the chat.
Okay.
Keep, keep, keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it, keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it.
Keep it, keep it. Keep it, keep it. Keep it, keep it. Keep it, keep it. Keep it, keep it. Keep it, keep it. Keep it, keep it. Keep it, keep it. Keep it, keep it. Keep it, keep it. Keep it, keep it. Keep it, keep it. Keep it, keep it. Keep it, of the West, North, West.
I like that.
I want that.
I think that will make for, I assume the PGA is going to stick
with their four corner offense with the pin locations.
I think that makes for really interesting day tomorrow.
I also want to say while we're here,
are we completely riding off, Shephler?
Yes.
Well, that brings me to my next point and probably the first apology of the day.
I'm with you.
I do not think Scott Shephler is out of it.
I don't think it's over.
I don't think he's going to win by four as previously predicted by George Troulee here.
So I will apologize for that, TC.
I said it was over.
I said people shouldn't even watch today.
It was just it was not even going to be close
It was going to be clinical from Scotty and he was really really really really bad
Today he he studied himself on the back nine when conditions kind of laid down a little bit
I got no explanation for it
He lost two full strokes on the greens
You know, it was kind of a fool me fool me twice shame on me situation
Solid was trying to trying to say that to me the whole time
and I just couldn't believe it.
I thought he was gonna keep willing them into the hole.
And it was good.
It was good.
It was good.
It was good.
So I love it the models, because midway through Friday,
the models had them at over 50% win probability,
which is fucking outrageous.
It's a pre-rejez.
Like, it's irresponsible
The models are being fed all this junk food on a week-to-week basis
Empty calories meaningless PGA tour events and it's it's it's obscuring the real data in there preach at TC
Well, I don't think he's out of it. He's out of it. He's out of it. I'm telling you
No chance. You're saying he's what he's only four back. He won it back. Not gonna win last year. That's
sick. Whatever it was. 34 back. Yeah, but JT had like Fitzpatrick and Mito and JT didn't have big
dick players like these guys ahead of him. I mean, Brooks shoots what? One over and Scotty shoots three under and they're in a playoff that doesn't seem wildly
unprobable to me.
I want the record to show that I agree with you, DJ.
That's ready.
I know.
I hate it, T.C.
I hate it.
Nobody hates it more than I do.
Believe me.
I don't know what else to say, though.
The disrespect that he showed is playing partner today,
just like walking ahead on some of the T-boxes.
Many people were talking about this.
Heated it, heated it.
Can you see him though, if you're swinging?
I feel like he's played a lot, tournament golf.
I feel like he's still like that.
You know, might be a nothing burger.
I feel like he might be okay that. Might be a nothing burger.
I feel like he might be okay.
Okay, what about Team Rose TC?
And let me apologize.
I thought Team Rose was bandating it together.
I thought today would be a day.
We could see him fall apart, shoot 74.
Obviously did not do that.
He's right there, two under.
He's got a look tomorrow.
I hate that, but I was wrong. He should be
more in the mix. He's kind of limped in a little bit on 14. Like, should have, you know, kind of a
wipey drive on 14 there. Bogey 13, Bogey 17. 17 was tough today, but team Rose is probably going to shoot 70 tomorrow and be, you know, T7, right? Like,
that's, that's fine. I think Team Rose, he had that club chip kind of and then the next
chip that he hit was so good. So, when you got to wonder how, how many strokes he gained,
getting to play with Michael Block today, which he won't have. Block was gassing him up like crazy.
That's because, because Team Rose, the man of the people, you guys know have. A block was gassing him up like crazy. That's because,
because team Rose, the man of the people,
you guys know this.
He lost press in the flesh,
connecting with his common man.
Press in the flesh is such a good thing.
I think team Rose is out there.
I mean, what a mutual admiration society.
I'm just glad that the queen didn't have to.
I'm just glad that the queen didn't have to see
in her lifetime.
Team Rose with a backwards baseball cap on.
That's disgusting.
Let's bring in a, let's bring it.
We got all the TV stars.
Now that we're swimming in these TV circles,
we're just really connecting with all these high profile TV characters.
We're going to bring in another one now sugar Shane Bacon, friend of the pod Shane greetings.
Hello.
How are you?
Just to get just to get right in Tron's kitchen here.
Hey, can I give you guys a round of applause?
I watched 75% of the mega cast today.
I thought you guys crushed it. Well done.
Intertaining. Tron. I appreciate you being you on the mega cast. I don't know if the producer yelled at you about any of the comments, but I thought it was excellent.
No, they were gassing them up. There's a goat, a lay TC. They said if Stephen A, if something happens to Stephen A A they're grooming replacement. That's a designated supply for T.C.
The only big issue we had was couldn't hear Sally.
That was tough.
That was tough.
I can't think so.
Now listen, as a big TV star, I could kind of tell early on that there was slight audio
interference there.
But again, you guys masked it well. I think audio interference there, but again, you guys
masked it well. I think after about the first five minutes, you guys, you guys did a good
job of the delay. So my only goal tonight, by the way, was to have better internet than
Matt Emory. So I don't know if I've done that or not.
Yeah, killing it. Yeah. Let me know. Yeah. No, it's a different hotel.
Totally. You're getting a dialogue.
Conlection going in probably a better internet than Matt.
So Shane, you were doing featured holes coverage for ESPN plus today. What hole were you on? Tell us tell us something
We don't know tell us something we missed today. What would you see?
Yeah, 14 15 16 so I mean, honestly, most of the highlights that we have were kind of the big highlights in the day. we had that great, great block run where, you know, he makes the birdies and he's kind of like, are you guys cheering for me?
It was very cool.
I will, I will say that, I mean, the block thing has been awesome and obviously watching
it's been wild to see him do this.
It 46 and he hits it like 270.
But there are a few moments when you're broadcasting golf on a Saturday, no matter the event, where
you kind of get
goose bumpy.
And when he made the birdie of 15, I was like, dude, this is wild to watch, you know, that
he was able to do it.
The T-shot, I know you guys probably saw it, the T-shot was on 15.
He was on the T for five minutes.
It started downpouring.
He was about to pull the trigger.
He runs over under the umbrella.
He puts his best on. He comes back over the ball, he's still unsure, he goes back under the umbrella, they're
kind of conversing about it, and then he hits the worst shot of the day on 15, it was
literally the worst shot in terms of, you know, players hitting it right.
So I mean, that, I haven't done feature holes in a long time, like a lot of the times I'm
doing the groups, and you're just with the same people. But when you do the holes, you can see like the uncertainty of the player,
either over a putter, or over a shot. And it was, you know, it was, it was, it was pretty
wild. Sorry if there's, if something's squelching, I don't know if that's my audio or not. But
I will, I mean, that was kind of the one thing that stood out to me was the Rory kind of
going back and forth on on 15t today.
Shane, I was actually going to ask you a Rory question, but it was a different shot. It was on 14.
And I saw, I believe our good friend Andy Johnson tweeted something to the effect.
And I totally agreed with it was his second shot on 14. Can you kind of give a sense of how difficult that was
because I'm not sure the TV quite did it justice?
Do you know what I'm talking about?
He drove way right on 14 and was kind of short-sighted,
had to play a little chip punch shot.
I think after stunting on the audio and stunting on the internet,
I'm shaking.
Maybe frozen.
I'm like, how does my ass take?
Well, I was like, I thought that was a pretty good question.
Like, I'm sure my guide knows what I'm talking about.
All right, we're going to drop him out.
If he comes back, we'll bring him back in.
But, uh, Rainy, you know, I didn't want to do it, uh, you know,
while we had our guests in the house, I didn't want to do it in Mixed Company.
Let me just ask you, everybody on the planet earth, this seems to be enjoying the Michael block story. Let me just set the stage 46 years old club professional guy,
working stiff guy out there working for a living is beating the hell out of Justin Thomas,
out of John Rom out of your boy Ricky, you didn't even make that
cut, out of, you know, Jordan's spieth, out of all these guys.
Like that morocala.
He's more a cow a shrunk again today.
And Mike Block is going off with Rory the rib McElroy in the final round of a fucking major
championship tomorrow.
And so please just allow, you know, I know you, someone's got a poor cold water at the. You do you, Randy. Come on, baby.
Yeah. Okay. All right. I got, I got some thoughts here. I, I think Michael block is playing
fantastic golf. And I think there, there's nothing I could say that would take away from
that. So I let's set the baseline. Absolutely fantastic golf through three rounds. Now he's being treated like,
honestly, he's being treated like a make a wish kid, which just rubs me a little bit the wrong way.
This guy is a professional golfer, right? It's literally in his title. He's a pro golfer.
He's played professional golf events for decades now with with a lot of success. Now you might say there's Southern California, you might say that.
Yeah, you might say that.
PGA club pro tournaments, but hey, when you're under the gun, you're under the gun,
man.
And Randy, he said, he said on the telecast today during the walk, the second walk and
talk of the week, first, first done they've ever done two walk and talks with somebody
in a week.
They, they said, or Michael block admitted that he only does two to three lessons a week now,
which is a little, that's concerning, of course.
I got question, like at the end of the day, it's like, Michael, are we here to win the golf
tournament?
Are we here just to, you know, ah, shocks, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on.
Yeah, you want me to walk?
I bet he do a full 18 walk in talk tomorrow. But listen, you know, he's a PGA professional. He is a professional golfer. He's played in PGA
tour events. I just get the sense that we're making it out to be like, you know, this guy, we
pulled him out of the gallery and we gave him 14 clubs and he's doing this. I just want to pump
the brakes a little bit. Yeah, because I mean, well, if David Brown, thank you, TC.
My gay David Brown won the British Open in 1886.
He was literally a rougher.
They pulled him off a roofing job and he came out and won the open.
I don't hear people mention in that very much.
Yeah, so literally a hundred and thirty years ago.
So Shane, I think we've got your tin cans back up
at running. You got a reaction to what you just heard. Yeah, I mean, we need to celebrate
the fun stuff in golf. This is a fun thing in golf, Randy. I mean, he's played in 20 PGA
torvans. I think he's played in two US opens. This is what is fifth PGA
championship. He said this was literally the last thing in his life he wanted to accomplish
was to make a cut at a PGA championship and not only make it a cut, but he's in the top
10. I think this is absolutely worth celebrating, especially on a Friday and Saturday, because
you know, those days can be rather sleepy. I mean, even in a third round of a PGA,
it can be rather sleepy and it's just not.
So, I mean, to me, it's awesome.
And I think, you know, playing up as much as possible is good.
He hit a driver off the deck.
To the middle of the green.
Does that work?
Does that work?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It was insane.
I was awesome.
I almost think, I almost think we're disrespecting Michael block by talking about him like he's this novelty
Like I think we give him the same exact novelty No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, Michael? What do we? He is winning. Randy, he's won. This is a win. You don't need the
want to make or to win. You can't always say the only there's only one winner
a week. That's my thing is this is an enormous win for this guy. This is the
best week of his life. And I think he's he's he's living it up. Like
here's the thing. Let me let me give you an example, Randy. Like I played in
the Connecticut Open last year. And I was grinding to make the cut if I make the cut it's a win like
To me it's a shame there should be no difference
That's a that's a win right playing the open. Yeah, I mean if I make the final run
I'm gonna be high five and fans. I'll be doing walking talks with you guys if you wanted
But I can't understand he's trying to he's almost trying to pass himself off as this guy that's just like picked up golf like every good shot
He hits he's acting surprise like oh my god. I can't believe the ball just like I don't think he's doing that man
I think he's just soaking it up. He's playing great golf. He's getting great golf shots
I think he's very self-effacing like this is his fourth or fifth PGA championship
He's played in two US opens like he's played plenty of competitive golf, but, but
also like he's not out there, you know, every week grinding
with these guys, it's, it's, it's impressive, man. And I think
as someone who loves mid amateur golf, like you or, or some of
the senior, you know, like you've been to the senior am before,
like there, that's, there's great stories out there. And those
guys are playing the same amount of golf
as Michael Block.
He's just better than him.
He, no, he's a professional.
He's a professional.
So, Randy, everybody's a professional at this point. And I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, What storyline would you have preferred to replace them with to fill in those minutes and hours on the telecast?
Oh, that's tough.
I mean, we could...
You want to do 15 on Steve and Yeager 69?
Sure.
I don't know.
I just...
I have some problems.
I want Mike...
Mike's been there before.
I need him to act like he's been there before you know
Around me. He hasn't though. That's
He's played in PGA champ. He's played in major championships before
I think what's I don't know Rene where I want to hear from some is from some of his
competitors in the Southern California district. I need to hear more. That's fair.
That's fair. Maybe there's some skeletons. We don't know. It's not likeuresti though. It's not like he's he's you know, I mean, maybe I'll
maybe I'll eat my words when he goes out and Ken Tenigawa's it and and and qualifies for the
champion's tour on his first try or whatever. But like he's like the guys like he's not Omar Eresti. This is like a real no real club pro.
But also like stuff like this has happened before.
It's this isn't like a shooting star once in a lifetime.
Like we've had guys finished time for a generation.
No, it's like once in a generation
that hasn't happened right?
And like almost 40 years.
Here's another point Shane, you should,
I'm sure you had to qualify for the,
Michael Block had the easiest
path of just about anybody into this golf tournament. He essentially gets.
Okay, C call.
Okay, he's path is a little easier.
It's handed a spot. He's just got to beat up on some slubs that, you know, are probably
given 40 lessons a week.
Folding.
You're so good.
You're running as elite players, right?
You are just tournament ready. My guys have to just moonwalk and into the tournament.
Yeah, you get off for three days. This could happen.
Randy's leaving Joker off his top five MVP list too.
That's right.
Let me make sure, Randy, I just want to make sure we're not conflating
the way that the telecast and the media and Twitter and all of those things
treat Michael Block with with what's actually going on because you know he's not he's not
calling the booth saying hey I you know I'm open to the walk and talk you guys let me know
I'm down for it. Do we know that? You know they're at yes come on you know they're asking him
and and they're putting him out there and honestly I think they should be it's a great story.
And they're putting him out there and honestly, I think they should be it's a great story
Do whenever he's got you got PTSD from from PGA tour
Like all these all these content is too much content. That's your problem I whenever he's got in the light. I gotta get on Twitter. I got a I got a watch golf actually
I'm just getting too much of it. I think that honestly is my problem. Both times he's gotten the walk and talks on 14
He's hit like exceptional shots
and he converted it for the birdie today.
It's impressive Shane Randy tweeted earlier
that Rory and Block are playing together tomorrow
and then it's like a loser leaves town situation.
Like if Block beats Rory,
I will officially call on Rory to retire. Those
are the stakes says Randy. What do you think about that? I think that's fair actually.
I mean, I, I, I'm a little in on this idea from Randy. I haven't, I haven't agreed with
much of you said he said he said so far, but I kind of like this a lot. If blockbeats
Rory's kind of just got to hang them up. Yeah, he's done. Yeah,
like I never want to be a champion of all just like PGA championships. No, no, like you're done.
Like go enjoy the money. Don't worry. Or Rory's got to be a club pro, right?
We're at least four years of like Rory's got to give lessons for a year. Yeah. Well,
my guy block that's true. Like R we're, we might be a club pro. He could, like, I blog.
He might be the local.
So all right, Shane, we're going to get you out of here.
What before we do prediction? Who's, who's holding the trophy?
Yeah, I mean, I mean, I'm, it's going to be lame. I'm going to go Brooks.
I mean, I was looking at the, my point on Brooks is the scariest person for
Brooks is four back. So, and you think about it, there's like, in theory,
a four shot lead over the scary person on the leaderboard.
So, I mean, I just feel like-
Adjusting Rose.
Yeah, exactly.
Randy, was it Randy looked like he didn't like that?
Is that not your take, Randy?
No, I was considering it.
I like that.
I wonder if we're underselling Victor.
Victor hasn't proven it yet, but I think Victor
looking
Anybody else these models are all he had passed off raining. I have some I know
I mean you guys you guys think outside the box. I agree with that, but I'm I'm gonna lean I'm gonna lean on Brooks
This is gonna be wild of Kebka wins this by the way just simply because what is it five majors?
I mean five majors and he's kind of gone through
the resurgent part of the career,
which I mean, I don't want you,
I know you guys always predict these guys
are going to win like 10, 12 majors, maybe that's solid,
but I mean, he's going to be too.
Oh, that's very good.
Yeah, that's going to be our next guest that I've created.
You could really think like, it could be seven, right?
I mean, he could get the seven if he wins this one.
For sure.
Yeah, for sure. That might be, I mean, five, uh, Randy Fives, a lot different than four. When
you want to talk about guys packing in their careers, uh, Brooks kind of edging in front
of Rory is, is, is, and that's what I would, that's what I was going to say. We, I know
Rory's five back. So it's not, it's, it's tough, but we, we kind of have greatest golfer
of this generation up for grabs a little bit.
Not just tomorrow, but certainly loser of these town with Rory and Brooks over the next
macro.
See how this is evolved over years.
Yeah, he goes, he goes, he's so good.
Before I go, Randy, I want you to say one nice thing about block before I go.
Oh, he's played phenomenal golf.
Like I, that's what I said at the very start, Shane.
You dropped off.
I said, I want to be very clear.
He's playing excellent golf.
There's nothing I could say could take anything away from him.
I mean, he's even par in a major.
That's, I just want him to act like, like you belong there.
Go win the tournament.
I don't need this like all shucks.
You're surprising yourself and you hit a good shot.
Like, come on, man, that's not playing with me.
Like, I know you're you hit a good shot. Like, come on, man, that's not playing with me. Like, I know you're a good goal.
But then that's where expectations creep in
and it's not fun anymore, right?
Also, Randy, you were saying a bunch of nice things
about his hat on our strike thread too.
Yeah, he said it looked sharp.
He's a raw dog.
Congrats again, boys, on the show today.
I thought you guys killed a good luck tomorrow, okay?
Thanks, Shane.
Thanks, Shane.
Everybody, check out Shane on featured holes tomorrow
on ESPN Plus.
Shane, thanks for hopping on.
Shane, one more question.
Real quick.
Is there anything else they can do to make 14?
Like 14 seems under realized this week.
If I think if they, I think if they move the tee up one
tee mark tee box, then the problem is is that you'd almost
have to three wood to fly it on those greens.
I know guys have flown on the green.
I think we've had three or four for the week. greens. I know guys have flown it on the green.
I think we've had three or four for the week.
But if they maybe move the tee up and then tuck the flag
like front right, and then you get guys
that were long hitting three woods
and then maybe some of the shorter guys could hit drivers,
it could maybe bring a little bit more excitement into it,
but it's all unpredictability.
It's getting the kick off the hill or it's landing it
on a really, really limited shelf to get the ball closed. So.
Yeah, I'm struggling a little bit with that one. Like I was excited about that whole kind
of coming into the week and it's been a little bit hit or miss.
It's just it's just it's a big guessing game. I mean, I don't think it's it's not tenant
Riv where you know, guys are kind of going for it, but not really going for it. But today
it brought a little bit more character into it because there's a lot more guys that lay
back, you know, just because the hole was so tight and the weather
was nasty, but like that.
Yeah, it was like 2.95 or 300 to that shelf.
That would also bring out a balance in long too, which I think would be exciting, but
where it's at right now, it's just there.
The guys don't really know where to hit it.
I mean, I feel like that's what it's looked like with Rory this week, because he's not
exactly sure he even where to go with driver.
Yeah.
Well, Shane, enjoy the final round.
We will look for the coverage tomorrow.
Go.
I think you said you were going to go enjoy garbage plate tonight.
So go Hoover, one of those things up.
And we will catch you later.
I think I'm playing golf with your boy tomorrow, KVV.
So don't keep him on too long.
Okay.
All right.
Monroe.
Oh, yeah. Nice. In too long. Okay. Where you guys plan? Monroe. Oh, yeah.
Nice.
In the traditional.
Yeah.
Exactly.
See boys.
Love you.
All right.
We've got one more guest waiting in the bullpen.
He's been throwing strikes in there for a while.
I made it warn himself out.
He's got a lather going.
We're going to bring in the big, big ride handler who who was really controlling the strike zone today on ESPN plus. That is, of
course, Neil Schuster, Neil Greetings. Thanks for all you did for the game today.
And just how you feeling? What's what's going through the mind?
I'm just happy to be here, man. I mean, this could be the best week of my life.
So I don't want to make sure that I look look back and know that I enjoyed it already
I heard you were talking shit man. I heard you talking lots of shit
I heard you talking shit about me on Thursday. I was taking notes. I heard you talking shit about the block
The block man people taking the dekela is making you aggressive. Are you okay brother? No, I'm okay
No, you know Donna Donna says I get a little mean when I start drinking tequila. You know that
The nerves.
Yeah.
I knew how was the SPN today?
You look like a seasoned pro.
It was, it was, uh, I wouldn't say stressful.
It's just a lot coming at you quick.
When they hit that countdown, they say 10 seconds and all of a sudden they're like,
and two, one, and then it's almost like they shove you in a cold pool.
It's like, oh, hey, what's up, everybody?
Cool, man.
And so it takes a few, uh, takes a few reps coming in and out of those
commercial breaks to get the hang of things.
The commercial transitions, I have a newfound respect for the SVPs and
dances of the world.
Look, look, look, look, hanging fruit here, Neil, but they got a lot of
practice.
I don't know.
Let me ask you this. Let me ask you this.
Let me ask you this.
Let me ask you a question.
Let's say you were a professional broadcaster in a very small market up in the Northeast.
Sure, I'd love to.
And you've been doing intros and outros and hosting stuff for 20 years and all of a sudden
you get thrust into a national spotlight.
I mean, it's kind of the same, right?
It's just kind of you, the producer, the microphone,
you're coming in and out.
I mean, would a good performance surprise you on that stage?
Studio probably looks a little bit different.
I would say that the, of course, it's bigger.
Let's say it's bigger TC, you know?
All I can say is the tech has been in adjustment.
I think for all of us, like you guys probably mentioned earlier,
I couldn't hear words all Sally was saying the whole time.
So and then it was really tough adjusting to like, I love what we've got going on here.
The delay is tough because you're watching the live stream and I think we're two seconds
ahead.
And so it's like, man, you, you say something and you don't see yourself say it on camera.
And so it kind of throws you off and then you're like, oh no, Salis talking, but he's
actually talking from two seconds ago, but you, it's like, it's a total mind fuck.
And so then you start like, you know, second guessing it.
And the other thing that I found to be very unnerving was like, when we're doing this,
yes, we see each other on screen, we're looking at ourselves, but there's nothing else
that you're watching. So when you're trying to focus on live golf see each other on screen. We're looking at ourselves, but there's nothing else that you're watching.
So when you're trying to focus on live golf and call that, but you see your
resting bitch face to the left, you're like, oh, shit, I should smile more.
And then you smile and you're like, oh, shit, I look like a goon.
Like, no, do less, do more, do less.
And so then you're starting to like look at yourself and somebody's talking to you.
And then the producer chimes in like, okay, 10 seconds.
We're going to break.
And it's like, okay, 10 seconds. And we're going to break and it's like okay 10 seconds and
You're like, I think it's been five. All right, well
We'll be back right after this
Fuck you know, it goes to blank and they're like we didn't say any no four letter words today. No, I was on high alert on that
But I was so proud of myself. I think I think tomorrow you to just, the key for me was focusing on the on the main screen.
You got to totally ignore the talking heads.
You got to trust your ears.
No, your broadcasters.
I don't want to say they have it easy, but being just behind the, you know, the telecast,
not being on screen.
I mean, they probably have no, like I was, I had all these notes ready to go.
I couldn't look at my notes, you know, because it's like, oh, I got to stay locked in. I felt like a bit of a hostage situation.
Well, I thought you rocked it, Neil.
You did a great job.
I'm looking forward to it.
Of course, tomorrow at 10 AM Eastern Standard Time,
back on ESPN Plus, it's going to be the four of us.
I'm really looking forward to it.
Big Randy is going to be having to keel a hangover,
talking shit about Michael Block, all kinds of, you know,
internal manifestations coming out via his block takes. I'm sure.
And I'm a blocking Rory off tomorrow.
Probably very, very late TC because they're playing so well to a clock.
So we're going to be off the air by the point. Thankfully, you know what?
Randy, I don't want you to embarrass
the group on your block. No, Randy, I'm having the ESPN team put
together a block montage that you're going to force you to speak
over a true block party. I'm going to get some private messages.
You know, they're, there are others like me out there.
Man, there's dozens of us. There's dozens of us. We demand to
be taken seriously. Neil.
Neil, before I think we're going to tee up some questions.
You know, we always tweet out, like, sending your questions that we never read them.
So we're going to actually do that tonight.
That's true.
We always do that.
We're going to actually do that tonight.
I promise we do that tonight.
Before we do, the Code Man has some highlights from the ESPN broadcast today.
I know this is tough if you're listening on the podcast.
I know it's tough if you're overseas.
It was probably trust me.
We hear you.
We hear you.
We hear you.
We at Wastar Roico hear you.
I just listen, that's truly above our pay grade.
I don't really know what to tell you about that.
Cody, let's run some of the highlights from the ESPN plus coverage today.
And we will be back shortly to take some questions
It's raining so hard
Unbelievable
Plus one he's the man on the yellow hat who is uh who's Peter's playing with?
It's a great question. Yeah, we're one of the same thing you are we don't we don't know
Well, I'm curious. I might be curious George the there that sounds like something I would say. Wait is there a creek there? There's a young Neil Schuster licking the rain off the top of the
umbrella.
The microphone accuracy there in this kind of weather getting that and just what
is a dangerous hazard area to be around like a a John Rom out earlyish on a
Saturday probably running a little bit hot both in terms of hot mic and
dangerous club throws and anger.
That all of that was technically perfect
and showed some serious bravery.
You know, as the professional say,
he did good just to get the sort of green soul.
Oh, I took out a microphone.
And after we were just praising the green on course audio,
you hate to see that.
Oh, man, Ross is positive.
You know, baby. He's seeking out
another microphone. That's
going. God. Are you serious? He's
getting more officially a temporary
immovable object. The parking lot
is a temporary object. I mean,
aren't we all temporary on
some level? Yeah, we've got J. T.
with the rally cat trying to make
something happen. He might be
trying to grow the game out there
at the backwards hat. Yeah, we've got JT with the rally hat trying to make something happen. He might be trying to grow the game out there at the back or tap
So I don't know if you if you like whatever the hell that is tune in at 10 a.m. Eastern tomorrow
And we kind of we got lucky with some
Just a regis like outrageous things happen TIO on command there
We got leages with the Tiger moment
with the title is golf ball, you know?
We got a lot of UAV stuff.
Yeah, I've had a lead Hodges.
We got the, you know,
Jordan, the man the yellow hat, of course.
Was that's good?
Yeah, the man the yellow hat.
It was all the Michelson stuff.
It's great.
Yeah.
Cody, let's take some questions. If you you want it you want to pop in and yes
Yes, yes, yes, hello Neil. How are you buddy?
Long day Cody. How are you? I know I'm well. Thank you for asking long long day if you I appreciate you sticking around though
I got some questions like DJ said we always put out the Twitter poll and we rarely be are able to pull any of them
So he's was like hey hey, we gotta do this tonight.
We always say it and, and you know, we're gonna do it.
But first one coming up, people like Justin Rose,
that's where I learned that.
I know, at Mark Whittig, he says,
does this get Brooks on the Ryder Cup team?
That's probably, I think it does.
I think it should.
I kind of think it should do.
100%.
I mean, you go, you know second at Augusta
Wait a second of the guster right or it was a third second second
And then you win the pga. I'm fuck yeah, man
Well, are we saying a win gets him on or we say in full stop right now through 54 holes? He's on I
Mean right now. It's looking pretty good, right? I mean, I don't think he's gonna finish like, I think this is a tough break for Sally's Ricky argument.
Well, he's probably gonna play well at, at Hoy Lake.
You know, I'm not sure LACC, like that could go either way,
but Hoy Lake's a good fit for him.
I don't, and I think one of the issues with having Brooks
on the team was also having Bryson on the team.
Bryson's not gonna be on the team
So no of course the regular accord the sources. They're just best friends now
Bragg that Bob
I think if you're trying to take the 12 best golfers to Italy then yeah, he should be or sure and that's what they should be trying to do
He should be on the team I
agree here you point blank. Next topic. All right, moving on. I'm going to throw this picture out there
because this is a question from Casey Bogus law. He has a phenomenal avatar here. I wish
I could show it, but it's a mean mustache that would make Neil Schuster jealous. He said,
what exactly happened to Cory Conner's ball? Yeah and for those that can't see it on the podcast here, we're seeing Cory's
caddy who, as you pointed out, Neil looks a lot like your friend Tommy over the fourth
to sit at the ringer form.
Just really inspecting golf ball deeply embedded in the upper lippy here of this bunker.
This was on 16, I believe.
What I honestly, I kind of looked away,
I was trying to edit a KVVP,
so I was trying to get some tweets out.
I'm gonna pass this to somebody else.
Anybody else explain what happened here?
I watched it all.
Yeah, it's all right.
No, no, you kick it off.
Well, the ball's embedded, right?
So unfortunately, it was a crappy shot,
but the rules are the rules. So if the ball is embedded in turf, such as this wall creating the bunker, then you're entitled
to relief from an embedded ball.
So first they had to find the ball.
They found the ball, they put a tee in, and then the question became, where can he drop
that's no closer to the hole?
So Cory was asking about, as we're looking at the picture,
kind of a club length to his left,
our PGA professional friend, the guy in the middle,
who I will say probably the best performance
of the week by a PGA professional,
absolutely handled his business.
He said, no, I think that's gonna be it,
actually a little closer to the hole.
I need you coming out right.
So they ended up taking a club length out right, which there was more grass to the right, but it wasn't closer to the hole. So
eventually, Corey, I assume I don't remember seeing the actual drops. I assume the ball rolled
into the sand and he probably placed it after the second drop where the where the ball hit grass.
And then he played from there his third shot.
Couple things to add there, Randy.
From the slow mo, you nailed it.
That's exactly what happened.
From the slow mo, it looked like the ball,
almost like a piece of dirt getting up under your eyelid.
It would like skipped up and I'm guessing that it's new sod.
I mean, they just did this restoration.
It was like it got underneath the sod and got up in there,
like right at the edge with the grass and the stuff in my nose trying to do that.
Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Kind of like, you know, how it goes, you know, you can't get that piece of dirt.
It's like, God, there's like a pebble in there or something and you can't get it out.
So I identified the ball.
Now the other thing I'll add here, Randy, homeboy from the P.J. America did hold his ground because they were trying to go left.
And that was better than a P.J.
tour professional.
But I think that he did.
I don't want to say compromised, but like they first went right.
And then Conor's and his caddy were trying to go left.
And then they went back right and he gave him a couple extra inches.
Like, so he kind of got a little flat lie up top.
But I was like, ah, I don't know. It was like borderline a little closer to up top. But I was like, I don't know.
It was like borderline a little closer to the hole. But yeah, Neil, that was where I struggled with
how he got like as flat of a lie or like as flat of a stance as he got out of that. I'm like,
what the fuck did he take an unplayable or something? Yeah, because the first time they were using
the club and the first time he put the tee down, it was like, that's going to be brutal. He's
going to be on the like inside that bunker like lip, I guess you could call it or face, but, uh, but I will
say I thought it was a job well done by him overall because, uh, you know, they were trying
to go the other direction and that wasn't going to work.
What's the shame, too? I think what confused maybe some people, I was confused a little bit
at first was it was very important that the ball was in the grass rather than in the
sand because had the ball just, you know, be lined right and buried into the sand, then
he would not have been entitled to embedded ball relief.
He would have had to presumably taken on playable light, but because it was in grass, no stroke
got the drop.
All right.
It looks like it was right, right on it, though in the slow-mo. So anyway, DJ, please
take us to the next. Yeah, let's move on. Let's move on. We're dancing dangerously close
to where did it cross Twitter, where did he drop Twitter? All of those things, but sure.
We got to trust the professionals handling business. I appreciate you guys spelling it out
for me. Let me just say Michael Brock. Sorry, Michael Block should get out and walking
officiated group in the morning before his tea time. Sorry. Go ahead. Yeah, we'll pass that along
He should also mark up some cards before the round
Looking at some of the other pairings just just thinking ahead at like what we're gonna be looking at tomorrow morning
As far as you know 10 a.m
10 a.m. To once the window were in. We've got Taylor
Montgomery and Taylor Moore, the tailors. Taylor Moore had a, I gotta say, I'm really club
tossed. I'm rooting for one of those tailors that a lot harder than I'm rooting for the
other one. And to Taylor Moore seems like a bitch straight up. And now, you see, you've
tossed some clubs in a similar fashion. But I toss club with that. Viction and I would

We got Joel Damon and Kazuki Higa going out at 8 a.m.
That's a delightful, delightful group.
I'll be right back.
We got JT and Phil.
That's a pretty provocative group, I think.
We got Zach Johnson and C1 Kim, potential rider cup scouting
there, Podrig and Matt Wallace, um, Thomas D.
Trey, big tone, Max Homa, J. T. Poston.
Those are kind of the ones that stuck out to me.
We got had women in Scott, uh, DJ and Jordan,
not getting off at 1050.
Woodwatch. Yeah.
All right.
D. Trey came on the screen like five times today and I didn't know who he was every time.
I was like, and that's D tree.
That's not the ender's chest.
Please, nice golf.
All right, Cody, what else we got?
Uh, next one from A. Willig 17.
Who better today?
It was a big day of waterproof.
Everybody had their wets out.
A lot of animals out there. I mean, who better today? It was a big day of waterproofs. Everybody had their wets out.
A lot of tannimals out there.
Warrior Scotty, who was it?
I thought the Nike Reinsuits had a,
I'm shared with you guys, a distinct king of Queens vibe.
Kind of looked like a packaged delivery,
you know, person of some kind.
A career?
I thought, yes, I was sort of courier.
I thought, I thought Rory pulled it off a little better than, than Scotty. I thought, I thought Scotty was looking a little, uh, whatever the opposite of put together.
Is baby.
I thought Scotty looked like Ben Affleck and goodwill hunting.
Yeah.
Except that Damon at home to go, you know, lay bricks or whatever they do.
Yeah.
His hope is that he won't be there.
What he showed up.
I thought Rory, yeah, he looked a little bit like the kid with that hat backwards. Yeah, his hope is that he won't be there. What he shows up. I thought Rory, yeah, he looked
a little bit like the kid with that hat backwards. Yeah. Yeah. Good for you. Guys, we're pretty deep
into this. Uh, we haven't really talked like what do you, what do you peg Rory's chances at tomorrow?
So he's five back. Uh, gosh, I mean, what are you looking for? You're looking for like a
push. I don't know. Loaded question. You can take it however you want.
Were you encouraged by what you saw today?
You shot 69.
He was one under, made it a lot harder than it needed to be,
which is kind of a story of the week,
but he made five birdies along the way.
Well, that's a hope.
It's been a human Alonzo morning jiff
all through rounds where like it's just shaking your head
and then you see like the final score card.
You're like, well, I mean, he's in, he's in six place, you know, whatever it is.
It's like, dang, man, it's, it just, it should be so much better.
So it's frustrating.
It felt like you needed to be a little more leak proof down the stretch there, right?
And getting within like three of Brooks is, is just a lot different than five, right?
I mean, five of, five's a lot, man.
Brooks is.
Bogeon 17 was tough.
Brooks is playing really freaking good.
It feels a little out of Rory's control.
Like, I think best case, he's got to go shoot a 66.
And he's just got to get some help.
Do you think he beats Block tomorrow?
Legitimately, Randy.
Do you think he beats Block tomorrow?
I do. I do. What do you think? What do you think he beats block tomorrow legitimately Randy? Do you think he believes he's blocked tomorrow? I? Do I do
What do you think what do you think Roy shoots? What do you think block shoots?
Because you said out of our slack today you said quote. I hope block
I'm going to get on the interstate. That's a private conversation.
That's a private conversation.
That is a private conversation.
Yeah, privileged conversation.
Oh, I think Rory, listen, I think what Rory's doing
is hanging around.
And I could see him shooting 67, 68 tomorrow.
I don't know if that's gonna be good enough,
but I do think he's gonna play well,
and I would be completely flabbergasted
if Michael Block gets it in at 70 or better.
I'll say Michael Block shoots, let's say 73,
which is a hell of a round.
Sure.
Yeah, those guys up there,
I think that Rory gets it to like minus five, you know, that's like
kind of the, to me, the best case that I don't think those guys are going to shoot.
Yeah, that's fucking hell around.
I know that's what I mean.
And that's best case scenario for me.
And I don't think those like of those guys ahead of him, they're not all going to shoot
72, which is basically what you need.
Yeah. Yeah.
Cody, look at this guy. I thought he's. I thought he's out of part of your some list.
I know it should maybe, yeah, let's go.
Get out of this line, Jack.
Chris Solomon, joining the chat, if Rory goes out in 30 tomorrow, can you imagine?
Guys, I will say Rory was dog shit off the tee the first two days,
and he was fourth
He's strategy if I'm gonna tee it high and let it fly seem to be working Yeah, but then he hits like just the worst block on 15 like the part three
It's like come on man. They can't miss the green there. What are we doing? I think I do think a 65 or 66s in there
I think I think it is Neil. I want to sense your hair. I want to run your favorite game, lingering and
loitering. Let's get it going. Okay. Um, let's pull up that that leaderboard if we can.
Uh, I got you, Neil. Let's, let's run it down. Lingering or loitering, if you're new to
the show, uh, lingering is somebody who's, who's not really, you know, now kind of I guess contender or pretenders
another name for this game, right? Is this person lingering in that like they're just
hanging around not really causing a stir, not really causing any problems for anybody.
Or are they loitering with bad intentions ready to break in the cash register and walk
up with a trophy? We're going to start with the leader Brooks Kepp good deal. I mean, come on, we know he's loitering. He's always doing hood
rat stuff out front. I mean, he's got his boys with him. Yeah, I think that's you.
I'm guessing that's unanimous loitering. I feel the only thing I'd point out
for fairness is that if we're looking at his criminal record, I mean, he hasn't
committed a crime in in quite a few years now. And he has this history of kind of hanging out and almost kind of like putting off a bad
vibe and then not really causing any damage in the final round.
That's the only thing I'm going to say.
Well, he keeps like flashing the gun, you know, but he's not using it.
So he's got it.
So that's what we're concerned about.
The best comment I've ever heard of this game was the person who said,
I think they're talking about Rob. They're like, he keeps like,
when people walk into the story, he keeps rolling down the window and they're not saying anything.
Which feels like what Brooks is doing right now.
All right, Victor Houghlin.
Well, I think last time we said he was lingering, he's like the kid on the skateboard and they're like,
hey, you can't skate here. He's like, yeah, fuck him.
I'm in it.
He just rocks off on his skateboard and his at knees.
But I feel like he's been lingering around more
using the railing out front.
He's now he's got some sex wax
and he's been rubbing down the railing
and he's here to stay.
So I'm gonna say he's loitering.
What do you guys think?
Yeah.
I think it's clearly loitering. Yeah. Yeah. Well, that's, but that's, that's a change from,
from the message. I know that's the evolution. Yeah. Whereas the Corey Conner's is just lingering.
I really, you know, when I heard I watch the live show earlier, Randy, I completely agree with,
with you, he was like nails all day, except for that one bunker shot. I mean, hardly missed any fairways.
He was just, I mean, so consistent
in what he made like nine bars in a row to start the day.
Everybody else is just hydroplaning around the course.
Like that was an impressive round of golf
from Corey Connors.
I think T.C.
I think T.C.
saying he's out front ring in the Salvation Army bell.
Just, you know, not causing anybody any problems.
Like like I'm he's like a part.
Right? He's like, he like he didn't necessarily get it approved with, with whoever the,
the commercial real estate company that leases out the whole strip mall is.
But like, no, like everybody's cool with his cause.
So nobody has a problem.
He's super polite.
He's not infringing upon any customers,
but he's still didn't go through the proper channels.
If they change managers, then it could be a problem.
But like, he's a manager knows, I got that's core.
He's not going to hurt anybody.
TC is a big permit guy.
People don't, people don't know that.
Bryson, the big, big, big golfer.
I think Bryson's lingering.
He's lingering too. He's lingering. I do too. They'll make the case
that he's loitering. You got it or no? I would, the only case we made would be, it's like
those guys that when I was dropping stuff off a good will and they just stole my stuff
as I was trying to take it and they like actually like employees and they just heard that story.
I didn't tell you that is that. Oh my god. brutal. I have to put the Cody on the uh, I want to like who sessions. Yeah, man down in Brooklyn
I was like they you know how we when you go at least get a hey like
Every time I've got a good will like in jacks you go and someone comes out and they're usually not wearing like a uniform
They're like hey, let me help you with the stuff like you get the boxes out and you drop it off
Like I'm giving it away. So it's like oh, yeah, hey, you know like thank you
And so this guy comes starts helping me and then a security guard comes out and I'm like oh cool another So it's like, oh yeah, hey, you know, like thank you. And so this guy comes, starts helping me.
And then a security guard comes out and I'm like,
oh cool, another person to help.
And then like security guards like boxing this guy out.
And I'm like, well, what's what's the deal?
I was like, oh, oh, and these guys like taking it
and you're just like running down the street to like,
and I look and there's like a block and guys are hanging out
just going through the bag of stuff.
I just dropped off.
It was very violating.
It was tough. I was like, oh my god, I just got played. I mean, any, any, any,
NLU stuff in there could be, you know, I think they're, they're real marketing and
it's different kind of, kind of just like more efficiently donated it. I know that's the thing.
It's like, well, I'm not going to get a fight over this because I was giving it away, but it's also
like, fuck that. That's bullshit. So anyway, you think that's right. I could be doing that. You don't even see it coming. You know what I'm saying?
It's like, oh, we all think like, no, he can't do it for four rounds.
Like is, you know, it just can't be. It can't happen. And then guess what?
He goes out and he's done it for three rounds. I mean, he hung around today.
I thought that was kind of gritty from him today. He got off to a horrible start.
Justin Rose, I know nobody wants to admit it, but he looks pretty good.
I think he's loitering.
I know.
And you know what, this is for kind of what happened at Pebble Beach earlier this year, where
you know, you didn't want it to happen, but it's kind of like a see something, say something.
I got to say something like that guy over there, like he shouldn't like, he's made me
here.
Jimmy, Jimmy, call the police.
We got a shop lifter I
I agree with you I agree with you. I don't love it. That'd be I'd be a lot more comfortable if he
I feel like rose is he's not so much loitering, but he's
He's like causing problems in the store like hey, I was in line first
And someone's you know like no dude. There's two, like, no, no, I get to go first.
You should be behind me. And then it turns into like a brawl in the store in the store
and it's like, what the hell, man? Like, why? That's so unnecessary. He also seems like
one of those guys that doesn't take his stuff out of his basket. He makes the cashier
take this stuff out of the basket for him, which is a huge problem these days. Like the
cashiers at all the stores around here,
like thank you for taking your stuff out of your basket.
I'm like, do people not do that?
They said, yeah, it's a scourge.
It's crazy.
He freaks out because it's cash only,
and he can't use mastercard.
He's like, what kind of fucking establishment is there?
I wanna speak to your manager.
I think next guy, Scotty Schaeffler, strikes me
as a guy like very unpredictable,
very unpredictable. Very unpredictable.
Maybe got a little too much sun out front today, right?
And you just, you don't know what he's gonna do tomorrow.
Like, he looked very, very harmless today
and looked kind of checked out, kind of zonked.
But like, if a switch flips man,
it could be very, very ugly.
He's kind of like a regular customer.
He spends money here, but you know what?
Like, something's not right about Scott. And we're used to seeing him around. I mean, he's around every like a regular customer. He spends money here, but you know what? Like something's not right about Scott right now. And we're used to seeing him around.
I mean, he's around every major that we have. Like that's just Scotty, but like also he's been known to do
Like just please keep an eye on it. That's all that's all I'm saying. Maybe calling another another employee. Don't don't be here by yourself
You know, it's a track record for a guy. Yeah
All right, let's do two more Rory and Michael block rain. Rainy. No, I feel like we got to go.
I think Rory's, Rory's clearly clearly loitering. I think block is clearly
loitering as well. Randy, what are you talking about? Justin saw, we haven't
talked about Tommy. No, those guys and wind horse. Why, why would that be?
DC? Why do you think that is? I mean, Fleetwood had a, he shot 68 today. So
it was a great round. It was a great round. Hand up great round of golf.
Great round. Let's let's start stacking them, but it was a fantastic round.
Cause he was in the, in the shit. Yeah, he shot 17 to 71, 68. I think he
probably should 66 or 67 tomorrow.
No, that's what his record would say. His Sundays have been awesome.
This year I would agree with that.
He's a modern recognition. That's good.
Far enough out. Naley doesn't really have a chance.
So he might be freed up. Justin saw I was disappointed with the 73 today.
Is Justin saw lingering or learning? That was one of the dopest shots.
I've seen all week that flop that he hit behind the green
That the PJ of America tweeted out was crazy. Do you guys see that? Yes, I did
But that was that was what number two that he did that horrifying felt like he was fighting it off the tee
I don't know. I think he's linked up for sure
But he's he's one of those like those used to watch. He's been
What do they call it when the guy has to go truism, like he's skipping school. True.
Yeah, truance truance truance.
Yeah, the truance coming, they've been rounding them up a bunch and then they're about
to give up on them.
It might be the warrior ring pretty soon.
Kind of the ball speed of a, you know, young high schoolers, well, which I didn't really
realize.
I thought he hit it a lot farther.
That's on me.
Uh, TC anybody else?
Can I go to the leader board a little bit? you guys are very little bit. It's Saturday night
We I think we saved that for tomorrow. I feel like we've been more than fair on this it. I'm I'm a little fried
You know, you can send me out TC you could go down a leaderboard solo if you want
They'll go with you where you go
Cash is all that I got like five guys
TC next to the leaderboard.
And it'll be like an office hour.
Play us out.
It's gonna be like an Alex Jones.
He's gonna have his two-wheel hat on.
Doing a one-man thing, going down the leaderboard.
Why is it only talking about Taylor Pendriss?
That's what we got to ask.
Why is the PJ of America hate Taylor Pendriss?
I love it when these Saturday pods turn into
just slap happy, you know, while
I just feel like I'm a lot more amenable to go and on the leaderboard Thursday Friday. But now the
movie has kind of taken shape. But there's a couple shout outs. There was Steven. Yeah, five 69.
That was art. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, and Victor. 69. Okay. You get five starting now. All right.
Shane Lowry 71.
We were expecting big things on him today.
He didn't really.
We didn't.
Yeah, I said he was putting.
I said he was putting shitty.
Comfy pairing.
Reuse putting really well.
I was going to put that.
Yeah, I was expecting more from Shane.
I'll apologize for that.
I was I was pretty bullish on.
Um, Pete.
Which plate?
Pete was. He had a really solid round of golf today.
Really solid.
Got 69.
He's hoovering up OWGR points this week.
Got to give him credit for that.
God, we'll keep going.
You're just carefully.
You got three left.
Can't lay disappointed in can't lay 72.
I also, I won't apologize.
I said, quote, I fucking hate this guy last night. I hate this guy's guts. I don't like disappointed in Cantlay 72. I also, I wanna apologize. I said, quote, I fucking hate this guy last night.
All right, hate this guy's guts.
I don't fucking hate anybody.
That's not the TC way.
I wanna apologize.
You gotta remember, this is the year of no beef.
Less beef, less beef.
Where this is beyond meats.
We should fire them up, say.
Impossible TC.
So that's the take you, dude.
It's the possible TC season.
Like I do wanna say, like the guys that went out early had the worst of it.
It seemed like, uh, or the guys that went off kind of midway through, like, Carol Hatton,
shot 77 first round, 68, 69.
I think he's in for another good one tomorrow.
He's just slowly, slowly rising up.
God, who am I?
You know what?
Come on, you got it. You got to pick. You got to show us the range.
Oh, one more got one more. No, I know. This is I can't operate
in these conditions. Uh, Cam Smith, great 70 today. Like
really nice right? Bounced it off the flag stick did some really,
really nice stuff. Despite some bad luck. I think really
encouraged by what I'm seeing from him heading into LACC.
I'm going to keep it going. Jordan Kate.
We're going to be voting.
We're going to be voting.
We're going to be voting.
L. Yeah, I'm going to be voting.
Just because he's still talking.
Just because he can't say, I'm going to say Thomas Peters had like a freak, freak start
to his round.
And that deserves to be shattered out.
I know as a lifelong range goats guy. No, you know, he's in the cooler, man.
What about the cooler?
Randy, let's get to some kind of closing thoughts, big picture thoughts.
I know you put together a little bit of a syllabus here that you want to walk
through. Please take it away.
Yeah, I always like on a Saturday night, we kind of look ahead and we ask ourselves, what
will it mean if so and so wins?
And I thought the symmetry that this leaderboard has is pretty startling.
And so took just the top, we're not going too far down.
But I want to ask you guys, we kind of have three distinct categories.
Right?
We have a few guys that this would be their first major, Victor
Hovelin, Corey Conner's Justin S. Let me ask you this, what would a win for
Victor Hovelin mean?
Would do you think about him differently?
Do you, Neil, maybe there's a good question to toss to you.
Is this like, hey, can Victor win two, three, four majors, right?
What will a win for Victor mean?
Well, it's just, it's a fun one to circle back on
when that, with that class of more Kawah,
Hovelin and Matthew wolf. Like, you
know, that's a coming out of college. It was like, God, these guys are a three headed monster.
You know, I think Victor was probably like the, I don't know, it was him or wolf was like
the dude, right? I think Victor was. I remember we did that Fred X cup stuff and I didn't
draft Victor first. And it was like, Oh my God, that's the stupidest thing you've ever
done. And I was like, Oh, it's like Michael Jordan-Samboey situation.
But then-
Didn't you take the Chinese guy?
Who is his name?
Yeah, we don't talk about that.
Exactly.
Then Morcoa comes out and he's like the dude.
And now it's, I would say with a win here,
you gotta maybe lay the career side-by-side.
I'd say Morcoa still has him, but it becomes maybe lay the career side by side. I'd say more college still
has them, but it becomes a lot more of an interesting discussion. So yes, I think it's a big
deal, Randy. And I think all striking is just really good.
I think not to not to put too fine a point on it, Randy, but like, maybe this is an easy
comp, but when I look at my role it X and think of other Oklahoma state cowboys
who came out of college with a ton of hype who hit the ball great, who got a couple of
wins early in their career.
There's another guy that comes to mind who doesn't have that major and the way.
Exactly right, T.C.
No, I mean, I think like maybe it's unfair. It is definitely unfair, right?
And if Solid was here, he'd be screaming about the probabilities
and the luck and all of those things.
But man, a major, a major, let me stop you there.
We don't, as my colleagues, Steven A. Smith would say,
we don't care.
I think a major next year name just like makes it a lot more fun
as dumb as it is for people like us to talk about.
And Victor getting that just, I mean, all of a sudden he's out of the Ricky camp, right? Like he's
kind of in an absolutely different echelon. And of course, that applies to Cory Conner's and Justin
Saa as well. But like, Victor's the guy that has all the promise, right? And the guy that like, is
that kind of the inflection point of his career of
menu, you kind of, you look and smell and sound like the guy like, are you the guy or not? And
as unfair as that is, I'm very self-effacing about that. Like, it's still fun to look at it that way.
Because I'll just piggyback that. I don't think it happens tomorrow no matter what happens, but
I think you start getting closer to a point where if he doesn't cash in a major, then we, like you said,
it starts going to well.
Is he just a Ricky Fowler?
Is he, you know, it just brings in a lot more doubt.
So TCAing that, or should I go to the next one?
No, you guys nailed it.
The last thing I'd add, Randy, though,
is people love, I think that there's a love
of fulfilling potential, right?
When you are kind of crowned, right?
Like I think that's why people love LeBron.
It's like, man, that guy was the dude.
He was the chosen one and then guess what?
He delivered on that, right?
Whether you like him or not, it's like people,
you got to hand it to him.
Because by all means, people've got to respect this career.
Yeah, I respect this career.
You know, I think Victor, like, it's easy, like, he's a pretty easy guy to root for and respect
and take your hat off to. Like, he works hard. He seems like a really decent human being and like,
is about the right stuff. And I think it's, it's fun to, it's fun to see stuff actualize and deal time.
You know, it's wild about someone like Victor, not to linger on too long here. But like,
Neil, I think back to earlier in the year when we're in Hawaii, like he seems like he's kind of
traveling solo, like he's kind of going through a lot of this by himself, right? He talked a lot
about like the long drives when he was a rookie and kind of early in his career. And like, this is so
sick. I'm just taking these like six hour drives between tour events,
just blasting metal when we saw him and why he's there with presumably what had to be his mom,
just kind of like doing sightseeing stuff with his mom.
Like I think it's like a very different type of tour player experience than,
then people probably realize, right?
Like he's not out there with his entourage.
He doesn't have a million people around him.
Like I almost think it's, it's kind of one of those things
that like until you start backing it up with,
like it could start to feel pretty lonely, pretty quick.
And I, in a way, I'm almost like rooting for the success
to come so that it doesn't get to a weird spot, you know what I mean?
Well, I'm saying I remember about Victor Holland
is number one, he drove like 24 hours last year
all the way up to the loaf to the list with his buddies just to drive and go play because he heard it's a cool spot. He
hadn't been to it yet. Pretty sick. I think he shot like 83 61, which was and he could have
easily like fired up a nut jets. Yeah, you know, 100% 90 minute charter and instead he
drove 24 hours. Then the the summer before that, I remember like media got out of control because he,
I guess he goes home for like a couple weeks in the summertime and he turned up at like one of his,
uh, his like hometown course. Um, and the tea time was in one of his buddies, uh,
names. So people wouldn't, you know, come out and bother him. He just wanted to play with his
boys and stuff like that. I guess when they finished, it was over like 150 people,
like, following their group, playing the back nine, just like an all, like, genuine, genuine
sweet dude. Like, it would be amazing. Not only for that area, the golfing world, but for
like our next superstar, because he fucking, like his USM win was truly incredible. Like,
he ripped everyone's throat out. and then you're just kind of like
He just hasn't really been there since then. Yeah
Sealing is fucking high man. Yeah, let's say strong Maddie fits vibes in a way
So much like the ceiling so much higher
I feel like the arc. Yeah I
Think it's a huge deal. Well, it's a huge deal to win a major but to go from two majors
From one major to two majors. I think is a very significant thing and we have three guys that could do that
Bryson Scotty and Justin Rose. So my question is that second
major, who does it do the most for in terms of their career legacy? Weirdly, I think it's
Justin Rose. Like that makes his career.
I'm not going to have a ton of ton of looks, right? Yeah, it just seems like it just makes
the career seem a hell of a lot more substantive, especially when you add the wind at pebble
this year. I know that late career renaissance, he's playing like really good golf right now and I don't think
similar to the Jason Day resurgence here of late, like I don't think a whole lot of people saw it coming.
Right?
I can start using that.
I could see that. I could make a case for Bryson just because I think he's teetering on the edge of like
make a case for Bryson just because I think he's teetering on the edge of like am I competitive golfer or am I a YouTube golfer and winning another major like man that is a filling up
of the tank of competitive golf. I would have to think. And you know, again, it's it's
really that difference between one and two is pretty stark when we start looking at
people's careers. And Bryson's one of those guys that has, he's going to have such an outsized reputation
in the game of golf.
He's gonna be such a historical figure
no matter what physical shape he takes on.
That having two majors is like,
it almost feels right.
And Scotty, I think I'd put like a distance third here
just because like number two's gonna come at some point.
Right, like it might come in a month or it might come in a year or whatever just because like number two is going to come at some point. Right.
It might come in a month or it might come in a year or whatever, but like that one's coming.
That one is, I think there's the least pressure on Scotty to try to get number two.
I mean, I think the biggest story, I mean, Justin Rose argument's a good one, but the
price and just with current events and stuff, I mean, it'll be a feeding frenzy if he wins.
Right. I just love like, oh, you know, just the OWGR stuff, the live stuff, all of it.
And as it should be, right?
No, that's what I'm saying.
Like I'm not saying that like, oh God, you know, that's going to be so bummed out.
It's like, no, I'm up here to watch.
Like that would be tremendous content.
And it would be fun to talk about.
But it would just be, it would probably be a bigger story than if Justin Rose won, you
know, Tee Rose, the message the message boards could be going nuts.
Totally.
Nobody else.
Definitely validates his career more.
Like, it makes it feel like less of a side show.
And who knows how many more acts Rice and Hazardous career?
Like, we're on, like, act four right now.
Like, if he turns himself into gas or whatever, like, you know, he could be,
that could be act four. And we don't even see the next major win. Like, you know, he could be, that could be extra.
And we don't even see the next major win.
Yeah.
Have we checked the way they're tomorrow?
Do we know what, if that's going to affect his solid liquid gas situation?
It shows up as condensation.
Exactly.
Uh, Rainiel, or Cody, what you got?
Yeah, I hate to defend the resident of Plano, but they got a crazy hail storm up there
yesterday.
So I'm sure he's worried about the TikTok House and making sure that all the, you know, the glass is still intact, that
whatever vehicles that he drives are still in one piece, that Bentley's, I believe.
He's still living in the Tik Tok House? I don't think so. I think he bought a, I actually think
he built a castle, TC, and he is the high prince that lives there with his cats, no offense to Sully, but he's got cats.
But what I will say is that the YouTube golfer is changed quite a bit.
He has a new swing coach.
He's no longer doing midnight smoke sessions with Como in the living room.
I'm sure he is pumped about that.
He has a new caddy, got rid of the other golden child that he had with him.
And it seems like all Austin people, just, Austin people aside.
Well, honestly, I say this and I, I say all of that.
And then like, he doesn't really do the YouTube stuff anymore.
Like things are changing for him.
And I know Kev wrote an awesome piece a couple of days ago about it.
And I can only imagine like, I haven't lost my father, but a lot of things
in Bryce's life seems to have changed.
She doesn't have the rest of the guys,
the Klingurons that you used to see with us.
You know, he had an entire like squad following him around.
And they're like gone.
It's just kind of like him and his caddy and like,
his agent and that's kind of it,
bumming around everywhere.
And like, he was god awful last year. And it's really cool to see him playing golf again.
I'm not saying that that's like, yeah, I want him to win tomorrow, but I think he has changed.
And I think his actions have kind of shown that. He's still the goofy dipshit that we know him to be.
But like he's not that same person that he was two years ago or last year on putting lines trying to recruit people or
Anything else like he is a different person. I need to see if this is more than a phase
Right, like is this a phase or is this like have you actually evolved as a human being and like you're not just like a
Just low life and listen. We got to be open to the fact that maybe he has right?
Maybe has but that's not gonna man Like I need another two years of good behavior.
The only thing I was going to add is perhaps a second major for Bryson,
focuses him and reminds him like, hey, you have a golf legacy. What do you want to do with it? And
it could propel him, I think. The last two, I think I touched upon it earlier,
but Rory McElroy, 34 years old, four majors, Brooks Capca, 33 years old, four majors, both are
obviously looking for a fifth major. And I think what's really interesting is I think we have a
battle that's going to be played out over the next decade of like, who is the best golfer
of that kind of generation?
Because I look at guys like Kawa and that they're almost like a generation behind.
I think what's fascinating about this Randy and what I really love and I don't even honestly
know that it really hit me until tonight is we've just spent a decade like defaulting to Rory is the guy
because of this question, right? And just because there's been nobody up close to him,
it's been, oh, scoreboard, scoreboard, scoreboard, Rory's got four, Rory's got four, Rory's
got four. And man, if Brooks passes him, it's just like, I hate it, but it is a totally
different conversation, right? I hate it personally, but I love it. Yes, for golf and general, because it's almost like
you're a bird guy or you're a magic guy.
Or, you know, like you have peers that are,
that are, you know, equally worthy of the title,
and then you, you can kind of self-associate
with either camp.
But yeah, I think, I think LACC's kind of,
kind of gonna be like a miss note, like,
or like kind of over to the side, but like like looking at next year going back to Valhalla with with the PGA
You're looking at Pinehurst that should be a great great fit for Brooks
Hoylake's gonna be a great fit for both of them. I think Rory's won there before obviously very very comfortable there
Royal Trune next year should be a good fit for both of them. I think
this is the preeminent. At least maybe I'm just speaking from a place of hope. I hope
that this is like the preeminent thing that we're talking about over the next two and
a half years.
It would be sweet if it was motivating. It seems like the liv's schism was motivating
for a lot of guys of like, what know, what do you what do you care about? What's, you know, it inspires reflection and inspires some competitive
fire. So it's it's nice. Somebody needs to push Rory. We, you know, that's probably exactly
what what needs to happen. I think what's so funny is we've spent a lot of time and, you know,
it reminds me in a weird way. It's not the same thing I know, but it reminds me of like, I always
refer back to these like dog days of 2011 when it was like, web sim me in a weird way. It's not the same thing. I know but it reminds me of like I always refer back to these like dog days
If 2011 when it was like web simpson versus Luke Donald
Remember chasing like the money list title at Disney and I was like how great is this? What a what a ride
Who's gonna win the fart and trophy this year?
And I feel like we've kind of been doing that a little bit with Scotty and and Ram again
I know it's a very very very, souped up version of that rivalry.
But I think everyone's kind of been like, man, this is, this is great.
Seeing these two go ahead to head, man, what a thrill.
What a, what a place for golf.
TC, I could not, like, I was sprained a muscle nodding my head as you're,
as you're talking about like a Brooks and Roy, Roy rivalry,
who's going to end up their career with more majors going for it?
Because like, fuck, yes, sign me up for that.
Like that is it, that is it.
And that's not to say that like,
Rom or Sheffler or Speed,
or any number of other guys can't enter that conversation as well.
But those are the two guys right now
and until proven otherwise.
Like they, you know, and Neil to your point,
I think Rory, more than like the last few years
have been Can Rory, more than like the last few years have been,
can Rory pull this out of himself?
Rory needs someone else to pull it out of him.
He needs someone else to look at and say,
you know what, like Brooks is over there on the range
and like I know there's all sorts of quotes about Rory saying
he's not a co-blooded psychopath
and you know, he wants quality of life and all that.
But I think at some point the switch
is gonna flip back on for Rory wants quality of life and all that. But I think at some point, the switch is going to flip back on for Rory, where quality of life for him
is knowing that he's well prepared and he's working harder
and he's got what it takes to go out and beat Rooks at,
say, Valhalla next year or Pinehurst next year.
I think it's such an interesting relationship
between those two as well, where they're both living down
in South Florida, they're kind of close.
They're kind of not.
They're not playing the same tour.
They're kind of only seeing each other at majors and kind of weird random run-ins on ranges
down there.
It's like kind of the perfect rivalry.
I hate to know.
Because you know it means lots of rooks.
Yeah.
I think it means lots of Rory too.
Well, we've done a decade of like, hey, can you pull it out of yourself? Yeah, it would be fun to let's try something different. Well, it's almost like it meant less for Rory because there was nobody like
He was just Rory against history or Roy against Tiger or Roy against himself, and now it's like no man like like
Hey, you got caught and be like I think he kind of passed you to you and he's had some he's had more injuries along the way
And he's had all this and you know what? Yeah, man like grab your sack get you to you and he's had some he's had more injuries along the way and he's had all this and
You know what yeah, man like grab your sack get in the game and let's let's square up and let's have a good clean fight for the next four years
Baby, let's do it. Let's get it on hell. Yeah
Well, I think it's a good time. Let's what happens hold on that that all sounds great
But what if he has to retire on Monday?
That's interesting. That's interesting.
And block takes his fuck.
That is because block versus Brooks.
Well, I think that's that's kind of confirming is Rory was never meant for this fight if blockbeats on tomorrow.
Man, guys, I think we might have actually stumbled on some good stuff there at the end of a
15 hour day.
That's what a crescendo.
Not to do your dog, Dejra, I was just going to send it around.
I think we got to pick our official pick to win it tomorrow.
Guys, I'll start.
I'll start.
I'll get me a meal.
I got you got me so fired up about hobbling.
I'm picking hobbling.
Fuck yeah.
I'm picking hobbling too, baby.
I'm riding, baby. I'm going to this about hoblin. I'm picking hoblin. Fuck yeah, I'm picking hoblin too, baby. I'm riding baby.
I'm on ghost country, let's ride.
I'm picking Brooks because of everything we just said
for the last five minutes.
And I think it makes golf a hell of a lot more fun
if Roy's chasing Brooks.
Give me Brooks tomorrow.
I'm joining you, Dej.
Let's do a little handshake.
I was gonna put Brooks in the hove
from the burial grounds. I love, and I was ready to jump on Hovelin
but I just for for narratives and for fun like give me give me Brooks and let's let's see what happens after that
Guys should we should we call it a solid horse with the how far back is too far back. Thank you, Sally
I think we answered that with the Rory conversation. Yeah, I think Rory's too far back. I really do. So I think it's, it's minus two is kind
of the, the line that I think Justin Rose is minus two. Correct?
He is. That's correct. Yeah. I think he's still in it. And, you know, some things have
to break his way. But I think if he can go three under and there's some stumble in them.
There's not that many guys above him. I think that's still in play. So I think that's the cut line for me.
Yeah, I think we kind of answered it.
It might be minus five if it's just Brooks and Hoveland, right?
But I'm willing to give like looking at some of these pins tomorrow too.
It's again, the four corners thing.
They've moved the pin up a little bit on nine,
the pins in the front left on nine after being in the back there.
They've got pins going to be back on 14.
We've got a bunch of corner pins again.
And it's going to be one of those things.
It's like, you're going to make some birdies,
but you're going to get your hand caught in the cookie jar.
Some as well.
And I just I struggle to see both Brooks and Havland backing up
a bunch and shooting worse than like 70.
I agree.
I agree.
I think we're in for an awesome, awesome, awesome Dave golf.
I think Oak Hills delivered.
I think the field is delivered.
It's a great leaderboard headed into, uh, headed into tomorrow as evidenced by the graphic.
