I'm going to be the right club today.
Yes. That is better than most.
I'm not in.
That is better than most.
Better than most. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the No Lang Up Golf podcast.
I am Randy.
I am joined by Cody McBride and we have Tron Carter calling in all the way from Florida.
Cody and I are here on the 18th fairway at Walton
Heath. Beautiful fairway. I don't know. This is where our drive ended up right in the
middle, right in front of this beautiful trench bunker here. Big thanks for having me on
your show, buddy. Of course. Of course. Yeah. I can't believe they let us podcast from
the fairway. Anyway, TC from Florida. What's good? TC? We miss you this week. I miss you guys. I wish I was there. It is so hot here.
It is excessively hot. It looks delightful.
You guys have been watching some good golf.
The Heather looks awesome. The weather looks a bit unpredictable.
It looked like you guys got some, some rain, some suns,
some clouds, some wind today.
You know, all in. I'm jealous of you guys. I wish I was there with you.
Well, you know what they say about the weather in England, right? If you don't like it,
just wait five minutes. You guys show your background real quickly.
Turn off your, you're asking code man for a tough assignment early in the show.
You want to see what it is? Yeah, well, I've seen it. I want the viewers to see that I thought you guys were being held hostage
in some sort of ISIS video or something.
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa.
For those listening on the podcast,
you have no idea what's going on.
Cody and I are in the radio cabin here in the fan village at Walton Heath. Ah, excuse me,
I'm sorry. Festival village. Festival village. How Walton Heath. And this is our office. T.C. This is
where we work. I wrote the studio today while we're doing some radio coverage for a lot of different
people. I mean, you run down the list. It's over here. They have what we're supposed to
say posted for us everywhere. T.C. This is the AIG Women's Open. You're listening to AIG Women's
Open radio broadcasting on a bunch of different stuff. It's wild. Yeah. Well, guys, I've been tuning in.
You guys haven't embarrassed this yet. It's been long. It's been delightful. You know, pretty heavy workload for you guys.
Oh, here's our Airbnb for the week.
Hi, we got it. We got to get ready to hit the second shot into 18.
Randy, it's been an awesome week so far, but we wouldn't be here without a great sponsor.
I don't know if you want to tell us who that sponsor is, but I think I think we can do it.
Sorry, do you throw them up? I slam them down. Today's show brought to you, of course, by
titleists, the number one ball and golf and the overwhelming number one choice of players
at the AIG Women's Open. A total of 105 players are teaming up a ProVee 1 or ProVee 1X golf
ball this week at Walton Heath, which is more than
eight times, eight times T.C. the nearest competitor. And it's a nearly even split between Pro V1 and Pro V1X
with 52 players teaming up the Pro V1 and 53 playing the X, including US Open Champ,
Allison Corpus, Allison Lee and Angel Yen, they are all playing the
Pro V1 while two of the newest major champs, Celine Boudier and Liliavue, along with current leader,
Ali Ewing, we'll talk a lot about her. They all play the Pro V1 X. Choosing the right title
is golf ball is all about flight spin and feel and comparing Pro V1 versus Pro V1 X. Pro V1 will fly lower and spin less in the long game
while producing similar green side spin and softer feel. Pro V1 X will fly higher,
spin more in the long game and have a firmer feel. As the lowest spin player on Earth,
I of course am in the Pro V1 X and the best players in the world are playing a golf ball
that's fit to their game. You simply can't play your best golf otherwise. So head on over to tidalist.com.
tidalist.com to start the fitting process and find out which pro v1 is right for you.
We sincerely, sincerely think are good friends of tidalist.
I was getting ready to say for those listening on the podcast wondering what the hell was going on in the introduction, Cody and I are in the radio cabin.
We're surrounded by black kind of soundproof curtains.
It honestly looks like a hostage situation,
but we've thrown up a green screen for those watching live
and we're just gonna lean into it here today.
I'm very comfortable in these word conditions.
This is where I do my best work.
I'm actually surprised how nice it is,
but it's the same.
Black felt, no windows, fluorescent lights.
This is truly the booth.
Only thing we're missing here.
Everything contains a meal.
It is a shipping container.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, TC, let's start here.
Cody, let's start here.
Allie Ewing has broken free from the Peloton.
She has five clear the field.
She is your solo leader heading into the weekend at 10 under par.
She shot a six under 66 on Friday.
Just fantastic, fantastic golf.
Her only blemish the par 418th.
She, she closed with a bogey.
I believe she drove it in the Heather had to punch out.
Couldn't get it up and down. She's your leader. We have a whole plethora of folks chasing her. We'll, we'll, we'll
single them out and identify him by name here in just a second. But let's start with Allie Ewing.
TC, I'll start with you. Um, general thoughts. What, what, what do we feel like?
Feels a heck of a lot like Hoylake right now. I know. You know, somebody just
just kind of puts their foot on the gas when everybody else is stuck in neutral. And at some point,
you know, this is going to be a perfect how far back is too far back, Sitch. Right? Yeah. So yeah,
I don't know. I struggle like Ali Ewing. She won when we were at Kenwood last year for the
I struggle like Ali Ewing. She won when we were at Kenwood last year
for the Queen City,
occasional or classic or whatever they call it,
but you know, good player,
seems like a nice, nice gal tough to get very excited
about this right now.
I know she certainly fits the profile of the major champions we've seen
recently on the LPGA. This would be her first major championship if she goes on to win.
TC, you mentioned the similarities between Brian Harmon, what he did a couple of weeks ago.
Just for the folks listening, Cody's got a great graphic up here courtesy of the fine folks at the RNA.
But I mean, it's it's eerie. So Brian had I'll just kind of read all the similarities for you.
Harmon had two tour wins coming into his open championship week.
Allie has one more with three. They're both in their 30s. I think both would, you know, accurately
be described as journeyman, journey women. Both you will from the deep south of the US,
both attended SEC schools. Brian is a bulldog from UGA. Allie went to Mississippi State.
Both shot a first round for under. They both shot a six under round two. They both hold a five shot,
36 hole lead. I mean, it's, it's honestly pretty crazy, Cody. Yeah, the similarities is, it's not
good. TC. I'm concerned, actually. I don't like the situation that we're in right now.
Yeah, it's, you know, I do think the thing that maybe feels a little bit different is,
Yeah, it's, you know, I do think the thing that maybe feels a little bit different is you've got some, some heavyweight chasers, right?
Yeah.
Got Charlie's there.
You know, she's not going to back down.
Didn't certainly didn't back down at Pebble.
Played, played well, kept the pedal down.
Just got probably outplayed there by Corpus at the end.
Andrea Lee is a great player.
Lilia Vu, you know, won the first major of the season there.
Good to see Allison Lee up there.
You know, wouldn't say she's been the most consistent in majors, but definitely a pedigree
there.
A tie at Tidakum, 67 today.
You know, Randy, I saw you tweet at Justin Ray earlier.
I got, I just got dog.
That was a tough, tough. I think it's because my guys
running low on sleep. He's trying to get as much as as any as he can. Obviously, but if
people have been paying attention, it's hard to awake the giant. I know I'm going on
the leaderboard here, but like we got Minji Lee. No, no, no, no, we're not there yet.
No, no, no, no, I'm just saying there there's like a, there's a whole pack of dogs chasing right now.
I just don't know how far back is too far back.
Well, that's the question.
Cody, let me pose it to you.
I mean, we usually play this on Saturday night, but I think it's a good Friday night game tonight.
How far back is too far back?
And with that, can alley you and keep up what she's done over the first
two days? Nice double question there while we're in the interrogation booth. To the first
question, I think how far back I think if you're sitting at two wonder right now, you
are okay. If you are one under, you're out of here. I'm sorry. We've eliminated Nelly Corda and Rose Zang and Rooning in. Yes. Yes.
I'm sorry. I just can't play this game with Nelly right now. I can't.
Probably I can't play the game with with Rose right now. I know Rose is going to get a top 10
here, but we're just not going to do this thing. We're like we're hoping for this late back nine
surge on Sunday when she's still like six, seven shots back.
for this late back night surge on Sunday when she's still like six, seven shots back. But we do reserve the right to change our mind. If any of those women go out tomorrow and
she's just 64. Yeah, but nobody's gone lower than 67 or they're not 66 yet, right?
I mean, do you guys feel like there's a 64 out there? I would say today would have been
that day. Yeah. Yeah. Whether wise, the wind is just picking up this weekend.
Okay.
But it's going to be dry knock on wood.
It might, you know, you might get some like English little rain for an hour or something.
Yeah.
T.C. they told us it wasn't going to rain today and you saw what happened.
Yeah.
And so is it firming up though?
It has been.
Yeah.
For sure. Okay.
Balls are taking big bounces in fairways.
It feels like some of the greens are a little bit firmer than others.
And maybe that's just into the wind downwind, a place of factor in that.
But yeah, we're getting firmer TC, but we got to keep praying for sunshine and wind.
Well, I would say, I mean, I think another big theme here is that kind of different
from US women's open, the heavyweights, the best players are playing well, right? They
may not be leading, but they're, I mean, you've got a plethora of like very good players
in the top 15 to 20. You know, there's a lot more quality at the top of the board
than there was at the US women's opening.
Absolutely.
Let's get it.
Anything but before we move on from all you doing,
I mean, take any compliment in the book,
it is truly, truly fantastic.
Golf through two rounds.
I think my favorite tidbit, there were 59 women
within five shots of the lead after the first round.
And I tweeted out, I think it was like 11.40 AM local time today
that not a single person was within five of the lead.
At one point, I think Allie Ewing was at 10 under,
and then in the closest competitor was at 300. It just was incredible how she sprinted out.
And she hung on. I think we will. I mean, she's got to make some bogies on the weekend.
And whether those turn into doubles, whether she shows some cracks, I don't know, nothing against Ali, just for the
drama of the tournament, I wouldn't mind her throwing up a couple doubles, ideally one or two
early in the day tomorrow, just to bring all these heavyweights back into the fold.
Yeah, I agree. The other thing here that's wild TC is that she's playing the front nine so good
compared to every other one. I think she's like, yesterday she gained like five and a half shots
on the field on the front today.
It's going to be even higher than that.
The first, you know, one through six here are absolutely dogs of holes.
Like they play super long.
You're dead into the wind.
You can't spray it at all.
And that's where like if you get through one through six
around even or plus one, you're going to be okay.
Because the back nine is plays way easier. And we saw that really today, specifically
with like, you know, 10, 12, 15, 16, they probably moved 16 up a little too far.
I was 16 was a par for today. It was a free crack giveaway. Um, but it's just, it's phenomenal.
I think, uh, the radio folks who are walking with her they said through first 11 holes
They counted it up that she or proximity to the whole total was 52 feet through 11 holes
So this I mean, you know, so I would say this sustainability models feel
Not great, but we of course, they don't know that because we don't have any stats. They're flashing red
Yeah, they're they're you know, it's like that's, that
feels a heck of a lot more sustainable than, than, you know, draining a bunch of
longpots, right? I think the other thing that's kind of in her corner is looking at
her previous wins. Like Kenwood, that was a ball strike or a strike like you
couldn't stay there on there. Same thing like she won the match play at Shadow Creek.
You know, after a ball strike last couple of years, yeah, you got to like drive it well and you
got to hit your high on it's great. And then you know the Reynolds, like she won the drive on,
I think it was at Reynolds Lake O'Coney there. That one was a little bit more of a birdie fest.
But you know, again, like that's that was that was a top shelf field. She'd be Danielle Kang down the stretch.
So yeah, I mean, it feels like she could go out
and get this thing to like 16 or 1800 par
and slam the door.
Or I think tomorrow's big, right?
She needs to basically shoot, I would say 70s probably,
she's still moving forward,
but that gives people a chance to make up a little bit
of ground and get it to two or three shot lead instead
of a five or eight shot lead.
So I think that's right.
I mean, 72, I would take right just in terms of like,
kind of keep at 10, let a lot of people come chase her.
As a spectator, I think that would be the most exciting.
We shall see Cody, as you said,
she's gonna have, like we said about Brian too,
but he answered the bell,
she's gonna have a long time to think about it tomorrow.
It's a position for Ali that is new for her,
at least in a major championship. It feels a little bit too that is new for her, at least in a major championship.
It feels a little bit too, like, you know, just going through stuff and just from what I've
watched this week, it doesn't seem like there's a ton of big numbers out there. It's just kind of like,
if you're gonna struggle a little bit, you're gonna stack bogies on top of each other. You're gonna
run off to three, four bogies, you know, you're pitching on sideways and then you're, you know,
basically playing from there. But it doesn't seem like there's some double triple quad lurking,
you know, for basically anybody not named, um, uh, who, who, yeah, I'm trying to take him.
Um, you know, in grand, like you could probably go down the board and see that. But there's,
you know, it just doesn't seem like there's some crazy hazard lurking or something where like if she gets wavered with the driver,
you know, it's, it seems like somewhere that like, Hey, if she has a couple of bad holes,
she can study the ship and then, you know, start playing offense again.
And they've been, they've been playing so smart. I mean, we saw that with Ali today on
18. If you hit in this Heather, like, you're dead. Like you just literally turn face back to the fairway
and chop it back out into the grass
and take your licks and try to make your part.
Yeah, like it kind of makes you,
like it's kind of a little bit of a governor
on doing something stupid, right?
It is.
Yeah.
It like makes you make the sensible kind of
defensive decision instead.
So yeah, I don't know, all that said, like the course looks awesome.
I mean, it's showing great on TV, the Heather in full bloom,
you know, conditioning looks wonderful.
It's the 18th behind.
Yeah.
Looks just like a proper tournament course.
Like, you know, from what I've heard,
it doesn't have quite the same soul or character of some of the other
Heathlin stuff, just as far as like kind of the everyday, you know, kind of intimacy of those
courses, but it looks like just a proper brawny championship test plenty room for logistics.
You know, a lot of a lot of versatility as far as how they can set it up as well.
One thing that this place is not lacking in space.
There's 36 holes, uh, 30, well, 35 of them sit all on this
this side of the, like a big field that workhorse on, uh,
they're decided of the road and this massive field that's open.
And that's where everything set up now, TC, you're dead on.
But, um, the weird, I get the old course original like number one holds is par three.
That's right over by the clubhouse on the other side of the road.
Very weird looking.
Like 200 yard per three, which on if I'm being honest, would have been a sick
opener for the. That's like live them.
That's, that's the good shit.
Why are we not doing that? Right?
I get that bit off logistically or.
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Getting everybody. Everybody would have to go over that bridge.
It's a like single file bridge over the road. God, that would be sick.
Yeah.
The worst choke point possible. Be all right. The course is showing off. It's in
great shape. I actually, I might walk over here to set up the studio. I ran into one of
the grounds crew people. They're out there doing their nightly cuts and everything.
Devon? He had it. Where's he from? I don't know. All right. Well,
I ran into this guy. He said he listens to every podcast. He's a Canadian. Oh, okay.
Anyway, came up, ran up, sorry, sorry, sorry. Hey, man, how you doing? I said, hey,
put nice to meet you. What are you doing here? You have volunteer. What do you go? No,
I work here. You go, yeah, this is my full-time job. I go, you don't sound English at all.
He's like, no, I'm Canadian. So he went, did turf, turf crash management training in Canada,
worked at a club up there. I think he said outside of Vancouver. It started looking for clubs
and said, hey, I want to go work at like an actual proper top 100 club.
Single guy decided
to move over here, got a job at Walton Heath out there rocking. It has great accommodations
that I guess the club sets all the the foreigners up with. It's a great, great deal. Makes me
kind of jealous. I wish I had done something like that when I was single instead of spending
too much time in rooms like this with people who have bigger beards and smell worse than
you, but guys, I can't wait any longer. Can we talk Charlie whole? I'm just a real, you see
her back in the hunt. Yeah, she's got that, got that bad bitch looking her eye. I love it, guys.
It's, she's, oh, I like, I want her to go go out this weekend and capture this thing.
It's, she's definitely hunting some sweets right now.
And she has the face like everywhere she goes, she's so locked in.
She matched up the outfit with the Heather.
I mean, that's next level.
Today's lavender was God, that's a good fit.
Not lavender, by the way, lie like lie like a T.C.
You're right though.
I said to Cody earlier today, she,
I mean, for anybody that, and I hope you watched the final round of the, the US Open where she shot
what was at 66 and was just lashing the ball and going after it and rolling in putts. I mean,
she has that look today. It is awesome. It legitimately gets me excited. I'm just like, I'm like,
come on, Charlie, let's make a run. It would obviously be awesome doing it here in England.
I mean, everything is kind of coming together. And yeah, she, I mean, she went out. I
thought today was a great round for her. We can get into some of the specifics, but give her some space, man.
I don't know which way to move my body here. Sorry, Cody's putting up a picture from the 18th on
the green screen here. It just was, you know, I think it's exactly what she needed. She doesn't
need to be sitting on the 36 hole lead, right? We know that she enjoys the hunt, the chase, and she's in a prime position to go do that
this weekend.
I'm so excited.
Yeah.
Kind of a topsy-turvy round one, too, right?
She had that, you know, she had double on 13, then she comes back at Eagle 16.
She's 71, but it comes out clean card today, right?
Like, let's get it.
And I'm not sure.
I don't have it in front of me.
I don't know of any other clean cards.
There can't be that many.
Hmm.
And she did a lot of work.
I mean, just on her back nine,
kind of shanked one out of the bunker on 14.
I think very much shanked one out of the bunker.
And then we also had a clean card today. Okay. So did bunker on 14. I think very much. I think one out of the bunker. And then we had a clean car today.
OK.
So did Janie on co.
OK.
But yeah, Charlie, unbelievable par save on 14
and then follows it up with a putt from off the green on 15 for
birdie.
She has a good look at eagle on 16 that doesn't drop a taps in for a birdie
and then gets it in par on 17 par on 18.
She shoots 68.
She's at 500 par.
There's nobody between her and the leader.
And for, do we know if the T times are out one thing I was going to check is if she's probably not in the final grouping.
But that's okay.
She'll be in the penultimate group.
And yeah, it's just like all signs are pointing to Charlie.
And I just think it's so cool that, you know,
talking to a ton of the people we've met,
Charlie is such a popular pick coming into this week.
And for her to really back that up
and be charging and have this energy about her,
it's a really fun thing to watch.
This is definitely like Georgia and Charlie country. I don't know if it's just specifically because of the area that we're
in right now, but that's all people can talk about is Georgia and Charlie and Charlie actually
talked about and said, Hey, I don't like that. I actually pay better when I'm, you know,
in America or any of these other countries where I don't have these fans that are cheering
me on. I need that, you know, I need that
chip on my shoulder, little Brooks Keppka-esque. But awesome, awesome round today.
Yeah. Yeah.
Um, winning and let's T.C. Sorry, I was just going to start to mention a couple of the other
ladies at 500, but anything else you want to add for Charlie? No, no, just let's see
it, right? Yeah. Yeah. Got to come through to come through the the one thing that I will say is that
You know when you read more and watch more about Charlie
Like she's very quirky and she does the pump fake, you know practice wing and then like you you find out and you and she's been pretty open like with her ADHD stuff
you realize like everything that's going on,
like her brain is running a million miles an hour, and like how all that stuff is actually
just like calming for her. It's like truly impressive, because I feel like that sometimes.
And I can't wait to see what she shows up in tomorrow. She was she was kind of green.
Was it green skirt or green dress Monday?
Lylac today, it's got, it could get awesome. I wouldn't mind seeing just an all black outfit tomorrow.
Like, yeah, she's always wearing kind of some of those diamond knit
things and all sorts of.
Yeah, the company is weird.
Yesterday, actually, you're talking about ProM Day was the green.
When yesterday she wore black skirt, black like tank top thing with that weird,
like her sleeves were white. It was a black and white look. Okay. Okay. was agreeing. When yesterday she wore black skirt, black tight tank top thing with that weird,
like her sleeves were white. It was a black and white look. Okay. Okay. Or like an all white look.
Just, you know, be like the snow queen. Oh, the Rose Zang. Yeah, that's, that's the Rose. Yeah.
Other, you know, we got, we got Andrew Lee minus five as well Good 68 today. Yeah, you know proper player
And honestly like kind of came out of nowhere
TV was not covering her her back nine as she was trying to bring in home radio
We definitely were not covering her until she got to 16 when she made birdie on 16 and like jumped
From second pages of leaderboard all the way up.
You're like, Holy cow, Andrea Lee 500.
Who would have thought, but awesome day for her.
And then, you know, I'm sure a lot of people saw it, but Randy and I,
we had to go do the Sky Sports thing.
Andrew out there.
We got to do.
Got to.
Absolutely.
It was.
Sorry.
I didn't mean to phrase like that, but out there, I think absolutely grinding away.
And looks like to be in, like,
have everything under control,
just getting a normal routine in.
Yeah, keep it in movement.
She must just be a raindrack,
because if you're gonna go out there
and pound balls after, what was it?
A second nine.
Oh yeah.
So under 34, and yeah, 68.
I just have a few things. If people aren't overly familiar with Andrea Lee, she's 24
years old from Los Angeles, went to Stanford, actually was kind of rosang before rosang
got to Stanford.
She had been world amateur number one prior to getting to Stanford.
Once she gets to Stanford, she won nine times between 2016 and 2019, where her years in school,
that was a record before Rose came and broke it.
And then earned her tour card in 2020,
but didn't, you know, took a little bit of time to adjust
and finally broke through one
at the Portland Classic last year.
So she has one LPGA victory.
And I guess interestingly or not has one
top 10 in a major and that was at the 2020 women's open. So has has shown out at the British
Open before, obviously has a big track record as an amateur of winning. And I think it's
somebody that, you know, we all have been curious about and he's the only for yeah.
Yeah, I think you left one victory off her, her sheet exactly the skills
challenge. Yeah, exactly. At the Queen City championship.
She won the four way or the five way. That's right. She won some skyline.
Joining, joining Andrea at five under is Japan's and gosh, Mr. Pooch is, Mr. Pooch correct me,
but I'm going Minami Katsu.
Enami Katsu.
Minami, dang it.
It's so close.
I know she's probably bummed.
I know my Swedish ladies beat the Japanese ladies overnight in the women's world cup.
So you know, definitely probably playing with a heavy
heart there. But, yeah, I'm not all that familiar with Miss Katzou's game.
Well, I got some, I got some biographical information for you, Mr. T.C. So she's 25. We said
she's from Japan. I love this tidbit. So she's done most of her playing over on the Japanese LPGA where she was the youngest
winner in the Tour's history at the age of 15.
She won as an amateur on the JLPGA.
She's since gone on to win seven more times.
So she's an eight time winner on the JLPGA, including two of their majors, but not a ton
of success in major championships. And by not a ton of success in major championships.
And by not a ton of success, it's like not a good track record at all.
She has never finished in the top 20 of an LPGA major.
She's currently ranked 72nd in the world.
I think I'm going to bestow the Bayley Tarty.
I don't think we need to worry about her much this weekend.
See you.
And I look forward to eating my words if she's around.
Now somebody that I think we do need to worry about, Lily
Vue. Yes.
It's awesome to see Lily Vue back up on the front page of a leader board.
Hopefully she's healthy.
But yeah, this would portend, you know, some kind of trending back, you know,
especially with like some kind of colder, you know, colder
weather, wetter weather like that. That's sometimes that's not great for injuries and such.
So it's even, you know, doubly good this year in the hot hair.
I will say watching Liliah too is that, you know, was she dealing with that shoulder injury
after the chevron and it took her a long time to get used and like get her ball striking back. Her ball striking is back. She just hasn't
made putts yet. And like today she missed so many putts. She hits a pretty sure she had 16 or 17
greens and missed almost every single look for it. Like if you six, her birdie on six step
hard fives, because she was on into same
thing with 16, like, how to really good shot for Eagle on both of them and miss them both.
And then scrapped, you know, three other birdies across the across the card and ended up
with a bogey on 11. But it like she is there. Everything is there. Once if her potter gets
hot, she is definitely concerned this weekend. I was
gonna say I'm not I'm not sure we're allowed to say in the hunt by the way, just you know,
I'm not sure for the britz will take kindly to that. Tear Randy got it. Nugget on that today too.
Oh TC, I've been shopping it up with our guy John Hogan. I mean, yeah, not everything off the golf course, maybe the
highlight of my week. I absolutely love the guy. We agree on so many things. We were
getting deep on everything that's wrong in the world of golf. He had an awesome column
on Carlota, Cigandas, slow play. I love that earlier in the week. Yeah. But he told me they were asking Ali about hunting in her in her post-round press conference.
She said, yeah, she and her husband go out from time to time.
They hunt deer.
I think they use a rifle and it's just the British.
They cannot understand it.
They can't understand it.
Cody, you're kind of the guy to ask you, what do you make of all this?
Well, I think for some people, they don't realize that this is literally like the meat
that these guys are going out and harvesting what they're hunting, what they're killing
is what's feeding their family.
It's not the big bag like trophy hunter people that you see that splashed their pictures
on Instagram and stuff like that.
These guys are literally like taking every single piece
of these animal back, processing it
and feeding their families off of it.
Where do these brits think that their food comes from?
The grocery store.
Well, and I don't wanna be unfair to the brits.
I'm sure they're like, yes, we farm animals, we have livestock,
we harvest them for meat.
Ideally, they do it humanely.
I think they're up in arms about hunting,
just the act of like shooting an animal for,
I would say for no reason.
But as Cody said, a lot of these hunters,
I think the hunters that I respect
are processing the meat are eating the meat.
And yeah, I'm in deer overpopulated in most areas in the United States to where it's
almost more humane to do this.
Yeah.
Right.
Thank you, TC.
Randy volunteer to go on a hunt with me this fall.
Somebody's chiming in about the Alabama or England test as well, which
this is kind of the one place that that doesn't cross over.
That's a great point, Nate Ma. Yeah. I know. It's like the deer, if a lot of these deer, if they're
not going to get hunted, they're just going to get hit by a car in the road. So or struggle and
like fight with each other to get food, you know? That's another great point. They like love their blood pudding. That's congealed blood in it. Well, I don't think
they're anti. Okay, we don't we don't need to spend more time here. Joining Lilyavoo
quickly at four under, we have Gabby Lopez. Nice to see her kind of rounding back into
form. I understand she's had a reunion with her old
long time swing coach starting to pay dividends, which is nice to see. I did. I joked with Cody
at one point Gabby Lopez and Carlotta Segundo were one two on the leaderboard on Thursday. I said,
oh boy, if they're paired together Sunday, it's going to happen in a half hour flight.
Gabby slow-pest. Yeah. Yeah. Very sure. Yeah.
But good to see her up there.
Allison Lee, no relation to Andrea.
She's at four under and then Hugh Jiu Kim is at four under.
I was just going to say, Hugh Jiu, I'm kind of, you know, after what we saw coming down
the stretch at the US open at Pebble Beach, I'm kind of like, Hugh Jiu, you kind of got
to show me something now.
I'm not buying it necessarily. I agree. Alison Lee could be a, you know, she's, she's
kind of starting to put together a nice season here. She's she had a couple of lean years
there. Got that long putter, I think still as well. Lucas Glover's out front in Memphis.
We could see Alison Lee, you know, long putter is flashing a little
bit right now. I need to get a long putter. Yeah. I told Cody that Wednesday. I was like,
I have no confidence in my ability to hit a straight putt and it's like the worst feeling
in the world. Well, and with green speeds being as fast as they are these days, I was talking
to Andy Johnson and Zach Blair and Chris Luck and a few other guys about it the other day.
And like, with green speeds being what they are, you like, I think it's almost made for
the modern game.
Well, quickly rounding out, not quickly, but rounding out the top 10 at least we have a lot
of women.
I'd for ninth right now at three under total.
I'll run through them and then we can highlight any names you guys wish.
In no particular order,
Horene Delacore from France,
Jin Young Co, Min Ji Lee,
Nasahata Oka, Adidia Shook,
Alison Corpus,
Atayatidikum,
Jody Ewer,
Shadoff,
Angel Yin,
and that's it.
That's your cohort at T9,
three under, T.C., where do you want to dive in with any of those women?
I mean, that's like the Belmont stakes right there. You know, those are those are the thoroughbreds and not just like the Kentucky Derby or
Preachness thoroughbreds like those are the thoroughbreds built for the
You know, the longest race of the year like that, that's a pretty stout group right there.
Like at Epsom, Cody and I drive by this, this racing facility Epsom every day.
And it's like the biggest race track I've ever seen.
It's TC. It's, I don't understand why it's so big or how it's so big,
but it is not a normal like us race track.
It's not like the ovals that we think about, you know,
we're going to get a lot of we're going to get a lot of user comments for that. Perfect. I love
the engagement teach us. We learn that the other time and we are here to learn. Yeah, but I would say,
you know, Jody, you're a shout-off doing it. I think she lives in Orlando now, but doing it, you know,
in her native England. Dee has been playing great golf all Um, you know, Minji, I'm kind of looking for her to start winning some stuff after
last year's dominant performances. Genio and co, Ataia, uh, Nasa continues her great play.
Angels been playing some of the best golf of anybody in the world the last, you know,
probably 12 to 16 weeks. You got, you know, you got
corpus, perindelicore. Yeah, like there's no, there's really no
outliers on this board. Like everybody, everybody inside the top,
got everybody inside the top, like 20 came into the week, like
75th or better in kind of the LPGA standings for the week or for the season. So
There's no like there's no underdog stories really. It is just well. Thank you. I
Glad you guys all appreciate it with my how far back is too far back take after I was the only one that had to make a
Decision here for some reason you're right. You're right. Thank you, sir. Thank you, sir. And then we've got G
I shin. Lin Grant, who was my pick to win? Ayaka, Frua, Lindsay Weaver, right? Ryan O'Tool.
Mama Sita is there at minus two. That's my girl. Me, you Yamashita. I mean, like one of the shortest
professional golfers I think I've ever seen before. And a true manipulator, a have a sheet. I mean, like one of the shortest professional golfers I think I've ever seen before
And a true manipulator a true manipulator. Lee six is there at minus two, but yeah, I think that's probably I think if Lynn Grant
Wasn't in that group at minus two. I would say minus two is too far back
But I think Lynn Grant's probably got a 64 or 65 in a half the party at top and I agree with that and And if it's tomorrow, TC, are you flying over for Lynn Grant's final round?
If Lynn Grant can get us all stock, is it a Lynn thing?
What if Charlie?
I mean, what if we're sitting here tomorrow night and your afternoon and Charlie is the
top of the leaderboard?
I don't think I need to fly over if it's Charlie,
but if Lynn Grant is in the, you know,
in the final group going into Sunday, I'll look at that.
I'll also, guys, we got to also factor in,
Tommy is currently solo third in Memphis as well.
Why'd we get him started?
So, you know, we can go there if you want,
but why is he talking about started? So, you know, we can go there if you want, but why is he talking about
Tommy? I don't know. That was last time I flew over. If you'll allow me, I want to backtrack just a few
things on the minus three group. And first of all, I want to shout out good friend of the pod. We
had a couple of pints with him yesterday. Ollie Brett is cating one week only. He's cating for a DDS shook.
So awesome to see them having a good week.
And I also want to say Allison Corpus.
She's just really good.
She's she's really good.
And it's still like a silence.
Yeah, like you couldn't even tell that she won the US
when it was open.
No, there was nobody following it.
Like they had she had no gallery around her.
And honestly, that's probably the way she might prefer it.
Yeah, for sure.
And then we kind of mentioned earlier,
a tie at sitcom opened her tournament with a quad.
TC said there's not, you know,
that there's no water on the course.
There's really no out of bounds.
It's like, how did she make a quad?
Well, off the first hole, it's kind of a sweeping left
to right uphill dog leg, par four, but there's a bunch of trees to the left. And apparently she got
into the trees and then tried to hit, you know, a full shot out of there caught another tree,
got deeper into the woods. And from there, it was kind of a debacle. But all credit in the world,
I saw the quad.
She was at one point, I think she was five over
through five in her first round.
And I tweeted out, I was like, this is highly,
highly concerning.
I mean, she, I think six before this week,
six of her last nine rounds were 75 or worse,
which for a top 10 player, former world number one, no injury is really that
we know of. It's not good. It's like, oh my God, does she have the driver Yips, you
know? But she, she steadyed the ship. And for her to recover from that, I mean, conceivably,
right? You give her a bogey at that first hole. And's at six under she you could make an argument for 35 holes.
She's played the second best behind Allie Ewing of anybody this week. So good on her. I love
to see it. Would love to see her keep charging this weekend and she's delayed some of my fears about
her form. Somebody else that kind of recovered after, you know, didn't make the cut, but shot
79 yesterday, Patty T. Yes.
79 68 like that one. And came in off a pretty good showing it in Scotland too, you know.
So, you know, game didn't seem to travel from Dundan, and then, and then, you know, almost
makes the cut after an open round seven,
yeah. And she was grinding too. Like today, she could very easily like mailed today in.
She was absolutely grinding this pumping when puts were going in. She was very much in it.
Like, this is the patty. T again, I feel like we're in this spot. A lot of like, yes, this,
this is patty. Like, this is the patty that we're used to that we want to see and it just hasn't happened this year. No, I know.
It's a roller coaster TC. This is a good jumping off point. You've mentioned patty. We've touched on Lynn.
What kind of seating are we doing for down the leaderboard? I don't think we need to let a lot of people in, but please, please chef TC, will you cook for us tonight?
Yeah, I think we're just going to have some past or dervests tonight. Maybe some dips,
some spawning co-opata, things of that nature. Talk to me about Rose, at least saying,
just kind of nothing great set up there TC TC because Randy actually walked her entire round with her today and called it live on radio. Yeah, I think Rose is not playing well.
And I say that not just, I mean, she's one under. So she's to a certain degree, she's playing well. But I saw more between yesterday and today more one-handed finishes
than I've ever seen from her. It is truly shocking. And on top of that, she missed, she missed a little
half wedge on six, she missed long, she missed badly, a little wedge on 10 leaving it short in that
bunker. I mean, when she starts missing wedges, that's when you kind of like, what is going on here. But to her credit, I mean,
she completely flatlined her emotions today. I don't not sure if she smiled, but also,
you know, after these, some of these bad shots, missed a couple, you know, five, six foot parputs, didn't get down, just keeps plugging
away kind of chopping wood. And you look up, she birdies 16. She, she hits a probably
your shot of the day into 17, caches that birdie. And it's all the sense, like, oh, yeah,
she's one under and Cody, you said she'll, you know, she'll probably be top 10 by the
end of Sunday.
It's the steadiness is what's most impressive, but I would love to see a real spark and a
real run out of her because we haven't seen that in a little while.
Her ball striking is an issue right now.
You talked about how her miss is, but is there a predominant miss?
Because it seems like every time I see here, whether it's walking or on the telecast, everything
was kind of left.
That's funny because I'm thinking like with her irons, I saw a lot of just kind of bailing out of it.
Kind of short right. So then he good. Yeah, maybe it's a two way.
She did, I will say she did drive the ball pretty well. Her driver was, was good.
Pretty generous fairways. If for most of these women I would think. But yeah, the
putters a bit if he never quite know it's a little and not necessarily in the best way.
It's a little spieth like and it's like she can get hot and she'll just start making
them, but she's also going to, you know, if she's not, she's, oh, there's a mis-five footer. So yeah, I don't end of the day.
It's like, it's kind of whole-hum,
but you know, she'll probably be top 10.
I just would love to really see your get going,
maybe throw a 66 up there tomorrow.
Somebody I'm looking for, some good play out of this weekend.
She's coming in with a couple top 20s back-to-back
in the KPMG women's
PGA and the US women's open. Grace Kim, she's sitting at T28 right now. You know, one earlier
this year, I got her her first victory in Hawaii. I'm very, very bullish on Grace Kim.
And I think, you know, I'd like to see a top 10 from her this weekend. So yeah, Cody had a great observation about Grace Kim.
Yeah, I think it's an in person one really.
Yeah, for sure.
When you like watch Grace Kim walking around and see her statue and everything,
you honestly outside of their their facial features, you could not tell the
difference between her and Nelly quarter.
As far as the physique in the, yeah, 100% of the wall kind of carry themselves.
Yeah.
I agree with you on gray.
So when you, and you touched on Hawaiian, I don't, we've been kind of in this
bubble over here, but I also want to say if anybody's listening from Hawaii,
horrible things going on right now, obviously, thoughts and prayers out for you guys.
And, uh,
Mr. Pooch, and we joke with Mr. Pooch.
No, not at all.
I know that's like, that's exactly where Pooch is from.
And it just is a, it's not only bummer, but it just stinks.
So hopefully everybody's doing as well as a possible, but a horrible situation.
I agree with you on Grace.
Uh, good round.
I think she just has these random bogies pop up out of nowhere.
And you're like,
wait a second, what happened? You were in the fairway. Now all of a sudden you're putting
for bogie. Where is the disconnect here? Because it seems like she's been driving the ball so well
and she's just like kind of spraying her irons around. But I agree with you TC. Great form shown
thus far and really good major championship player for us, the young as she is. Yeah, a little bit disappointed in Emily Christine Peterson today, a little 69-74 action.
You know, I got my eye on the potential European Soulheim Cup members, so always written there.
Megan Kang, I had higher hopes for her this week, 70, 73. She's sitting at T28 as well.
Gemma, dry bra.
Did I say that right?
Dry, dry, dry bra.
Yeah.
Yep.
And Gemma and Leona, they're at T40.
Disappointing man.
Sorry.
Cody and I had a chance.
Gemma stopped by the radio after her round yesterday,
sat and hung out, we did a little Q&A,
and she was delightful.
Super engaging, gave great answers,
won a fan of me.
I'm a big Gemma driver.
You tried to put her on the spot and say,
what is she gonna call her number for today?
No, that was Marcus.
Oh, okay, sure.
I think we're elbowing him in there though,
but she said 67.
Yeah, she got close.
I think Celine's, no, all good.
It's an hors d'oeuvre session.
I hope people are mingling and making conversation
and everything.
Celine's got to be exhausted. She's T-47, Professor of making the and everything. Selene's got to be exhausted.
She's T-47, Professor for making the cut there.
That's the first one that we'll come to,
by the way, when we're talking about Selene,
I'll apologize.
I picked her to miss the cut.
So that's props to her.
And I'll apologize on top of that, Ayaka.
Who do I?
He definitely made the cut.
She's too under.
I missed on that.
It's going to happen. I think on that. It's gonna happen.
I think we're getting to the point with Danielle Kang where you got to wonder if she's gonna make this
all-heim cup on points or if she's gonna,
and kind of an interesting question of like,
do you pick her or do you leave her at home?
Not the bad, you know, from what we hear,
maybe not the best person in the team room.
Lexi might be in a similar situation too, you know?
Something's up with Lexi.
Yeah, it's not good.
And I don't think it's a physical thing.
No, no.
I know we've kind of said in the past
like she doesn't really look like she's having a great time,
but I don't know.
They're there.
I've heard rumors, she's quiet quitting.
And that's what I was gonna say.
TC, I've heard things that would not only not refute that,
but maybe substantiate it,
but I know we're near on the level of authority to go beyond that, but
the something is up. Watch this base.
The other thing T.C. is that I understand where you're going at. So maybe Danielle doesn't
get it based off points. She's basically a lock for a pick. It is impossible for Stacey
Lewis not to pick her. And it's, I know her current play isn't the best as of recently,
but she very much is in.
I don't even want to say like the Justin Thomas bucket because JT is more of like the actual killer on the golf course during match play.
Danielle, like, even though we say she might not be the best presence, she runs that team.
She ran the international crown squad.
Like that is her team.
She is the American that's there.
And with Lexi kind of ejecting from all this stuff now and Nelly just wanting to worry
about her golf, she's going to get a pick.
But that's something where, you know, you're coming off of European squad winning on US
soil.
Do we need a task force?
Do we need to get some new blood on there?
Do we need to get, you know, like I would say, I would put her kind of in like that P category,
Patrick Reed category of like, yeah, she's played well.
She might not be the best, you know, best person for locker room chemistry, right?
So I don't know.
We'll see.
I did a little interview today with Captain Suzanne Patterson. And we talked about just that
and how power or like really how young her team is, how, how dominant they've been so far
this year. And like the fact that they're like very youthful, energetic, and it seems
like their ceiling is so high already. She was gushing about my head and Lynn.
Anna is playing phenomenal still.
Anna's gonna be a playing vice captain,
which like she's like,
that's exactly why I made her the vice captain
to like free her up and be like, yeah, now go play.
Like don't worry about any of these picks.
That's what we need for you.
Yeah, and yeah, I would say, you know, even then,
like there's gonna be some tough decisions between like linear strom and there's all sorts of
Ladies playing great on the European side like they're just like 20 deep
And then yes far as miscut stuff
Disappointed to see Marina Alex and Stephanie Kiriaku. It's the cut both of them
kind of you know want to see more out of them and majors.
I think they wanna see more out of themselves.
Madeline, 76, 72, very surprised there.
That was, she seemed like she was really getting
some momentum coming into this.
TC, she, oh my God, I was so excited yesterday. I think we were back in the media
center by this time. They posted her eagle on 16. I believe got her back to level par thinking
great 72. That's that's a wonderful first round score. It's gonna be four behind the lead. She's right in it. She comes and triples the par 3, 17.
And honestly, Cody, and as we were saying earlier today,
like there just really shouldn't be triples out there.
And it's an innocuous 165 yard par 3.
I still don't know what happened.
I don't know how she made six on it,
but it just encapsulates.
She cannot keep big numbers off of her scorecard.
And it's been her bugger, bugger boo all year.
It's I just hate it.
Bummer.
Yeah, I'm done, you know, and like this is this seems like the tournament that she's most
primed to win.
Yes.
Right.
And this course was like an incredible
match for exactly. Yeah. Lydia with a total stinker 74 74. I'd not see that one coming. No.
She hasn't been great. I mean, she was great at the end of 2022, won the Saudi early in the season, but has not been great since then really.
I I continue to go back to how good she played last year and everything that she
did with Sean Foley turning her game around to get to that point.
And then dumping Sean in November to start the new year and take obviously she
got married took that extended time off, which good for her
rightfully so. Then her first event she wins the Saudi ladies international and then after that
has just been a big old nothing burger. And I understand that she has a bunch of new things in her
life that she just got married. They're moving locations and they they're trying to get settled
and everything else like that, but she's just not hitting the golf ball good.
T.C., I can't remember if it was you with me or maybe Randy at Pebble when she hit that,
that par three went that ball was so far left like over that hedgerow.
She hit that same ball so many times today. It was impressive to include off the first tee.
She hit the the it's the first tee is a little dog leg leg right but really you can just hit your driver down to the bottom.
There's no Heather in play as long as you don't hit it too far left you can miss the fairway and you'll still be fine.
She hit it so far out on this toe it almost hit the media center.
I don't know how she she tees up a provisional because they didn't see it pop back out. It hits the lone tree that's out there and somehow she's able to hit it up there.
It's a horrible little pitch ends up making bogey, but really she she was like in six seven range.
Like that was the break of the day.
Otherwise speaking, I got I got one other take that's been really, it's been bugging me guys.
Oh, fact that this thing is scheduled opposite the US women's am.
And Saki Baba is here, or is there with you guys a Walton Heath missing the cut instead
of defending her title at Bel Air, same thing with Ingrid Lynn Vlad, missed the cut.
Not a great week for the amateur's, but it sucks that it's like,
it's kind of, I don't think they're adding
a ton to this event,
but they're certainly taking stuff off the table
for the US Women's Am,
which is, that's been an awesome week for Women's Golf,
where you got this on in the mornings,
and then you've got Women's Am on in prime time.
The quarter finals are ramping up here soon. I'm so stoked. This
a racial heck in the in the in the quarters, you got Latana Stone in the corners.
Anna Davis is doing provocative stuff like it's like there's no there's really no fluky players
either. It's it's a really like a bunch of heavyweights. It's awesome. But yeah, like let's figure that
out international governing bodies
through where these two tournaments aren't going opposite
one another.
I was going to say,
what do we think the blame lies with?
Like, surely, that is such a massive misstep, I would think.
Like you said, you have the governing body
of the United States golf, you have the governing body over here. How can we not figure figure that out? It boggles my mind. Yeah. And next
year you got it, you know, you got a had you women's open at San Andrews year after Royal
Porth call. I think with the way that the, you know, the women's game is going just with these amateurs playing better and better
at younger ages. Like, they're, you know, it's nonsensical to have one of the two or three
best events in the world going opposite the top amateur event in the world.
Amen. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. So just doing some quick research last year,
Saki Bob and one in Chambers Bay, the week following this.
This is, and I'll say last year for AIG women's open, it's the same week for them.
So I don't know where the scheduling air who who's to blame, but I think they can figure it some
somehow. But I know that there's memberships on both sides. Obviously, they want to take these to these great
clubs, which they are doing. They should be praised for that. But this easy
scheduling conflict should somehow figure out a way for to avoid it. And that's
where it's like with the USGA. And I know the USGA trying to get great venues for
the women's AM as well. So like that's the, that's obviously the priority here,
but you know, it's just like, hey, let's,
let's figure this out, right?
It doesn't seem like necessarily anybody's fault.
Even if they're not even the same week,
it's tough like last year, right?
With, you know, Chambers Bay to England would be,
or you know, Scotland would be very, very difficult as well.
You know, me or Field and Chambers.
So, you know, all that said, just a gripe
that I had. So, no, it's a good one. It's, it's definitely a
fair one. Maybe if you allow me TC as a after dinner, digest
Steve, just want to say shame to see the day in Lord Davies
have to retire. She was not playing well, called it a day,
early Thursday, and hopefully, hopefully, I know she really wants to play next year at
the old course. I think it's really cool to see her still out here and competing. She's
obviously done so much in the women's game. She's a titan. She's a beloved figure. So
hoping it's nothing serious, hoping she can find some form and maybe she'll,
you know, make the cut next year at the old course. You know, I, uh, I forgot to tell you this
because you were out on the golf course all day. Actually ran into her. Okay. Yeah. I asked her how
everything was going. She's like, Oh, yes, it's good. It just, they said that I have a tender ligament
in my wrist and that I should rest because the most important thing is playing the senior women's open in two weeks.
Okay.
So that's what she's saving herself for.
She really wants to play in that event.
She was also after she retired yesterday.
She still had the strength to go and she was on TV all afternoon.
So she must be okay.
We'll see her at the soul. I'm
comfortable. I'm sure I can't wait to run into her. We didn't
mention Cody, you said you had a chance to talk to Captain
Patterson. I want to let the folks know you went on the record
as saying you're going to be pulling for team Europe. I
welcome shock. Wow. I mean, if you rack and stack the teams, I
don't I do not see a situation that you can go a different way here.
Wow. So you're just a front runner? Is that is that what you're saying?
Yeah, are you talking about personality? Are you talking about, you know, like it's like
who's easier to like or who's who do you think's going to win? No, who's going to win?
Oh, well, yeah, but so you see something like a front runner.
She asked me, who what is your predictions for the soulheim cup? Okay, so you're making a prediction not not who you're rooting for
Okay, no, I said who is what is your prediction who's gonna win the soul? Oh, I thought it was who are you pulling for?
no
We might have to check the tent luckily we, we got it all on tape, TC.
I'll get to the bottom of it.
I'll request the tapes.
Release the tapes.
Speaking of tapes.
I don't know why you have a radio.
You're both European members as well.
Well, hell yeah.
I know.
That's what we're kind of protecting our team.
We want loyalists.
We don't want Johnny come lately.
Yeah.
By the way, since where isn't Neil going with us too? Yeah. Yeah. And Neil's just going
to ride for America, even though he's not going to know any of the players. Oh, don't do
him dirty like that. Well, there's like, you know, 24 players. He knows Nelly. Drew. He
knows she's going to win 11 and a half majors. He's got to pressure on it. I'll say this
T.C. There. Yeah. T.C. There.
T.C.
This Soulheim Cup, if you're not 14, you're up.
You're not getting into the party Sunday night.
Exactly.
So choose wisely, Cody.
Yeah.
All right, guys, tell me about the radio.
It's been a pleasure listening to you guys.
I've been listening on the app.
The app's been great.
Marcus is just, you know, I'm a huge fan of his work,
just generally speaking.
Listen to him, you know, my entire way over to the,
over to Hoile, he's just got, he's got dulcet tones,
such a way with words, the entire team,
it's just delightful.
You guys have folded in nicely,
but tell me all about it. Yeah, where to start? It's been an absolute blast. I not to speak
for you, Cody, but just my own experience. It's been so much fun. I think first and foremost,
what's made it that way. It's TCU's you, it shines through the radio, but this is such a fun group of people to be around.
That has just been the bread and butter here.
It's just a warm, fun, funny crew.
And you just can't help but be caught up in that energy
and good vibes and just go out and have a great day.
I don't know if Cody, we can name all the names.
I mean, literally, there's like 22 people here
that are helping to steer the ship
and put out the product.
Yeah, there are really good teams to see.
And this is the exact same team that does the men's.
The one thing that I will say is that they just came,
so they did Wimbledon to the open.
They had like a couple days off and then they had to get prepped and everything and of
course move everything back down.
And then since the majority of them are out of London, they're all just like basically
over here for the week, which is really, really cool.
But true professionals on the production side and then obviously you mentioned markets, but the rest of the people calling golf or phenomenal.
The guy who runs it all Steve Tebb, we played with him in the program on Tuesday and awesome dude. I think we've given him, you know, we realized pretty quick that he can, he likes to give shit, but he also is very good at taking him, you know, right back.
So it's been an amazing relationship with him.
I'm going to admit, I was very nervous about this.
Yeah, me too.
I thought they were going to want us to be out there.
Oh, yes, thank you, cat.
Now we're back here on the 13th hole.
And Lydia Co is lined up and like doing legitimate stuff.
And that's just not us.
We're not trained to do any of that.
But I did dig it.
I did get to do some of that today. Well, as you do it, Randy, you were out with
with you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Catdowns. I had not day one though. No, no, not day one T.C. Day one,
they were like, let's get you boys some swimming legs. We're going to keep you close to the cabin.
We're going to set you up on a table. You're going to be with Marcus. You're going to be with Die. It's going to be, we're just going to put you in good spots.
And yeah, we got comfy. I got to go out today. Cody's going to go out with the groups
tomorrow morning. I'm going to be more of a studio guy. But let me just praise cat downs.
I got to walk, you know, I spent five and a half hours with her. I walked all 18 holes.
She is an absolute professional.
And such a joy just to kind of walk around,
you kind of shoot the shit in between shots
and she just flips it on.
And she's an amazing commentator.
She has an awesome way with words.
She so easily describes outfits and the wind and the flag
and the breeze and, you know,
she's naming trees and birds.
And I'm like, holy shit.
She's a full sensory experience.
Like I feel like, like I've gotten to the point
where I can't tune in to the open
or the women's open without having open radio on.
Like it just, I feel like I learned something.
It makes me feel very inept and self-conscious about my own vocabulary and my own way with words.
I feel like such a rube and um you know I feel like such an American.
I think that's been like my career.
Although Randy is like I've noticed with you that you're speaking these hushed tones
and there's almost like a little bit of a British accent.
hush tones, and there's almost like a little bit of a British accent.
Just British through osmosis.
I truly, I think I like so admire that I'm like, oh my God, I want to like be like you guys. And I've kind of caught myself and thought the same thing about myself, which is really
fun. I need to send an email into the emails that they read off,
are fantastic. Okay, I'm here, wherever listening, it's so good. We love Mark, you know, all that.
It's great. Yeah, and just the way they toss it around too, it's there's so much connectivity
between everybody and it seems so seamless. And I'm sure that takes a ton of work.
And I can't imagine
Oh, I get so many voices in your head. Yeah, you're getting chirped in both ears
Makes me feel like I'm on target again. I will say and I'm not even sure if you've realized this code
Or maybe you did be in here in the studio. I mean shout out to the production team the the real you know heroes running the ones and twos
But when you're out on the course, you know, heroes running the ones and twos. Thank you.
But when you're out on the course, I just assumed every piece of commentary was going to be live, but you do a lot on tape
where the action is happening in front of me.
For instance, let's say on the fifth green, right?
They have birdie puts.
We have to call that, but there might be something going on.
So we, we record that on to tape, which they then turn around and flip out into the broadcast. I don't know why. And maybe it's like, duh, Randy. But I was just on the assumption out on the course,
you're just kind of, you know, they're throwing it to you live in the moment each time. But that's not
the way it works. No, I, yeah. I've noticed that in here because when they call it, sometimes they'll say, like, oh, yeah,
whatever on the lay, and then they'll play it.
We'll sit in here.
But it's been TC.
It's hard to even describe because the radio here is obviously like bed around forever.
And so many people listen to it day in and day out.
And this is how they listen to every single sporting event. They get so used to the the commentators and analysts and you know
Everybody else that's that's part of the crew and I get kind of nervy to like jump in and be like the dumb American who like
I imagine like always like a 50-year-old
Guy from like London,
tuning into listen to his radio.
Like who is big Randy and Cody?
And what are they doing on my show?
Like why are they not letting die talk more?
And I'm like, oh man, but they've made it's truly feel like home.
It's pretty cool.
And I think we're kind of getting the hang of it.
I feel like I've gotten better for sure.
And I was just gonna ask you,
has there been a moment that you wish you could have back
or where you realized you slipped?
Has there been like an embarrassing moment at all?
Yeah, like you get so self-conscious to see
about what you're saying and that you start thinking
that you're repeating phrases over and over again.
And you're like, oh my God, I've already said that.
I said that like, you know, 20 minutes ago.
And you're trying to think of new ways to describe things and get in the action.
But I, you know, a couple of times I literally would, I would talk about like,
oh, yeah, that's a, that's a big drive right down the middle.
And it would be like, end up in the rough or something like that.
That would look at me like, yeah, that's, that's, it's in the rough. I was like, oh, yeah, my bad.
But not too many crazy slips or anything when, when Captain Patterson was in here,
nervously, I looked up because I was looking at my computer. I popped my head up and I was like,
oh, hey, how are you doing, Captain? She's like, do I know you? And I'm like, no, we haven't met before she goes. Why you call me captain?
I was like, oh, just, you know, recognizing your position. She goes, I don't have a position for another four weeks. Sit down. I was like, oh, shit. Here we go.
You're like, yeah, she then she settled right in.
Is she the captain for both? Is she doing the same thing as Stacey's doing? Where is she the captain for both back to back years?
I think so.
I would just say I had a pretty embarrassing moment Thursday
morning.
I have two that come to mind.
For the first Thursday morning, we're standing out left
of the first fairway with Die.
And I just, she had asked me a question.
And I just did not hear it.
I didn't know what the question was.
And she just puts the microphone in front of my face.
And I have this just awful feeling of tear.
I'm like, oh, my, I don't know what you want me to say.
I don't know what I should be saying.
I look at her.
I'm sure my face looked just, you know, like a deer and headlights.
And she took it back. She's like, and being the
pro that she is, you know, she doesn't miss a beat goes right into whatever. And I'm just
like, I lean to come like, I have no idea what she was asking me for. That was one. And
then today on the course with Kat, they're, you know, and Cody, I'll give you some advice
for tomorrow. I've noticed the whole thing with calling it on the courses,
trying to get the timing correct where you're not having to fill too much space
before they actually hit the shot.
So it's like all about when you start talking and it happened to me today,
I forget what shot it was, but I kind of like started and then I think it was
ash but you high.
And then she like stepped off the
ball and I'm like, oh shit. I'm like, how am I going to fill the next like 30 seconds?
And at one point I just into the live mic. I just go to kind of like, now I know why you
guys describe the outfits and everything. It's a great way to fill time. So you pick up
on a lot of, you know, tips and tricks and yeah, I just am odd at how good and
professional all of them are. I mean, the whole staff, the whole crew, their ability to recall
information and stats and results and everything so fast. It's crazy because this isn't the only
sport that they cover. They just like have it all ready in their brain. I don't know when they're cramming for this or whatnot, but it's just like they just have everything exactly when you need it.
And that's what Randy's talking about. They'll like pass it over to try to get you in the conversation.
And they'll be like, oh yeah, so you know, Jim at driver, and you know, great performance
so far today and round one. But you know, let's talk about her last four results.
Randy. It's like, oh, she's played great. I think, you know, I don't know how many
cushies made. What event she played in or whatnot. But yeah, I really wish I had like my phone
up right now and I can look at like the Rolex side or LPJ tour side or something like that to tell
you. But yeah, she seems to be clicking on all cylinders today.
Has there been a spot where you guys have felt like you're too loud or you're too close
to the action and they're going to hear you?
Ash Buuha's caddy came over.
I think we were on 14, kind of walking from 13 green to 14 and she goes, we can hear you
downwind. And I was just like, oh my god, I was like,
Ashen so embarrassed.
Like, oh my god, I'm so sorry.
So sorry.
But I also wanted to be like, hey, could you play
a little bit better?
You know, we're trying to entertain folks here.
And this is like the most boring golf you're given us.
Yeah.
But people, I know we've put a couple of bites out and everything
else like that.
Share them on Twitter. We've put a couple of pictures of us, you know, wearing bites out and everything else like that, share them on Twitter.
We've put a couple pictures of us,
we're in monkey suits and everything else like that.
It's truly been an amazing experience.
I cannot wait to do it for another two days.
Tomorrow's a big day of radio for us.
So if people have no clue what we've been up to,
they can check us out tomorrow.
Are you gonna read the platform?
I'm in the AIG Women's Open.com
and the official AIG Women's Open app. If you're to read the comment? The AIG women's open.com and the official AIG women's open
app. If you're in the United Kingdom, you can check us out on BBC Radio 5 sports extra LPGA.com
as well as as well as serious XM in North America. So please check us out. We'll be there basically
all day tomorrow. I'm going out in the field doing some field reporting. I think Bigger's gonna be in the booth.
And yeah, looking for another exciting two days of it.
There were some great highlights put up yesterday.
I'm not sure if they've put them up today as well.
But of you guys also, you guys hit Sky Sports as well.
We did.
A ton of people who are hyped in the Instagram, DMs,
all sorts of people in England and the
greater UK putting up, you know, all sorts of pictures.
If you guys up there, Cody hit the bad Santa ball on TV.
Well, I don't know if you saw my note.
I didn't know if I should, uh, Randy sent me up perfectly.
He's like, Cody, what do you, what do you call that shot?
I'm like, Oh, no, I number one.
I didn't know if it was necessarily like, I mean, I know it's like politically correct that I can I number one, I didn't know if it was necessarily like,
I mean, I know it's like politically correct that I can say that, but I didn't know if like
that movie was as popular over here to the people listening if they would even get what
the bad Santa ball actually is. I kind of, if I may, I kind of delighted and put you
in a little bit of a pickle there. That was very intentional. I was like, I wonder what
he's going to do now. It was fun though.
It wasn't just like what we were told was gonna happen is like,
hey, we're gonna go over do a quick interview
and then you guys are gonna do like this little chipping thing.
Right, okay, that's fine.
We're gonna, we'll be able to do that.
And I didn't think it was gonna be live.
I did, I had no clue it was gonna be live.
I thought it was gonna be a recorded thing for later. I thought it was going to be a recorded thing for later.
Honestly, I thought it was just a recorded thing for social. I didn't even know it was for live TV or recorded TV.
But we get over there and then halfway through they're talking about us and our experience over here calling radio.
They start having us call live TV off the monitor. The glare was so bad. I'm, it's squinting trying to figure out what's going on.
It's like, where's the ball?
Just struggling to make the room.
It was so much fun though.
They're again, like professionals at what they do.
Like, what's your name, Sarah?
Sarah.
Yeah, Sarah, the light bulb crushed it.
And unfortunately, you know, big and I, we both play the Probe 1 X.
The balls that were provided for us were Probe 1. So that's why big lots of shipping competition, just a little too spinny for them.
And the clubs are short. And I don't think it was actually 75 yards. There are a lot of
things that we're going to put in asterix next year victory for sure.
So Randy tomorrow, I want to hear you do a bang a lung. I know. I really wanted to sneak
one in there today, but it just like I said,
they just like weren't making birdies. There was no energy in the group. I promise to get
one out tomorrow. I promise. And then legendary. Randy, you got our Cody, maybe you're the
best person to walk us through it. Randy, like, what's the sleep schedule? Oh, my God, you just dead to the world.
It's been a disaster, TC.
It's starting to remind me of our Taurus Susts Scotland trip, where it's just like, I'm
beyond empty. We're, we're, we've found another realm of, of operation here.
We may have to start sending you over like a week early, just to, yes,
actually, he needs an integration, you know, a proper integration plan.
I think we're over a jet lag.
Now we're just like tired tired.
Yeah, we just don't get enough sleep.
The issue is TC is that like, I think our Airbnb is only like five miles from the golf course,
but it takes like 45 minutes.
It takes so long.
No, we can get to driving after this. What's has been fun, but I think I got the big guy. He's got the hang of it.
The Airbnb, no central air.
Let me just say it's a perfectly wonderful place. I don't want to just completely shit on it. Right. I think it's more of a British thing. There's just no air conditioning. It's a little sticky at night. It's kind of hot. The toilets are small. You know, it's just, it's, it's, it's, the shower probably
come what I'm used to your ways. Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. It's not built for a man a big
size. That's for sure. So Randy, how long did you sleep for? Well, the first day
I spent forever. But the problem was we want to bed. Don't you dare try to put this on. No, I
won't. I still can't believe you didn't wake me up though. We
went to bed early. Both of us woke up like I felt wide awake at
2 a.m. which sucks our first night over there. I was hoping to
sleep through the night wake up the next morning, but I'm up. I
listen to probably like three pod random podcast episodes from like two to five. And of course, as it always happens,
you know, I tried to set my alarm. I didn't set my alarm in actuality.
Try to set it for 730. And you know, you get tired, like right before you actually have to wake up.
And so I fall back asleep. Somehow, you kind of have a sense that you've like slept
too long. I know like, oh, I feel like my alarm clock should have gone off. I wake up. I'm like,
I'm sure it's nine o'clock, nine thirty T.C. It's 12, 21 in the fucking afternoon. And we have
a 140 T time in the program and it's 40 minutes.
I'm just like, oh my God.
I'm like, it's Sarge was banging on the door,
waking me up.
I'm like, Sarge, how did I sleep this long?
It was a disaster.
And of course, Wednesday then.
So the program night, I don't know what happens.
We end up staying up late.
Oh, we recorded the preview.
No, we went out to dinner after the
program, which the program took six, six and a half hours.
Yeah, that only went and grabbed the bite to bite a food. You
are supposed to be on the preview with this. Luckily, we cut
you from that. We didn't have the wife. The wife of the house
doesn't work. That's tough. Yeah, we figured that out
that. Yeah, I was, I still have to have crepping for the
preview pod. You guys right now, you're good that out. Yeah, I was I'm not having to have crepping for the preview pod.
You guys were like, no, you're good, man.
I figured it was a Wi-Fi issue.
I know.
I feel really bad.
No, I'll get you guys to find out.
Yeah, we were recorded from like 1 a.m. to 215 on Tuesday night.
So we're behind the A ball sleeping again.
Wednesday, it's a glorious day.
We have our golf at woking like our only, you know, kind of
non-work kind of personal time. We come over here in the morning. Yeah, we came over
to Wednesday, but woking, that turns into a couple drinks after the round, which turns
into we're eating dinner again at 10 p.m., which means we're getting home at midnight.
And then, you know, we're starting radio Thursday morning. So we got to get up super
early. It's a full last day. Last night, we actually were a little bit better on the eating
schedule, but it's still like we're going to bed at 11. We had, we were here even earlier this
morning. What time was your alarm set for? 515. All right, I guess 513. I never set it for a 5. But
yeah. And so TC, I'm operating'm operating I got I got nothing in the tank
But pure adrenaline actually feel pretty good
Yeah, hey guys once a woking what you want woke on us
Yeah, go woke go broke on the sleep schedule got that golf course is so sweet though. It looks off TC
course is so sweet though. It looks hot. T.C. You're gonna love it. You're gonna love it. I can't wait to come back and play that joint again when the greens are like properly
firm and fast, but it's a phenomenal layout. I guess they did like a ton of tree removal.
They have one really dumb hole on the course though. They have 17 amazing holes and then
they have hole number nine, which makes zero sense. Red so much about it. I've done the course tours and the Tom Simpson stuff
and all the architecture by committee stuff.
It's like a, it's like a peachy dish
of different stuff that they threw out
and just really, really cool stuff
that keeps you off balance.
I'm dying to get there.
They got cold beers too.
And we like them on the patio afterwards.
That's what we stayed up so late
Tomorrow the good news. Yes, we gonna sleep in a little bit. So we're excited. I don't know how long this is gonna take me to edit tonight
Which I'm sure it's gonna take a long time because the internet's kind of iffy over here
And we still have to eat some food, but
Excited to sleep in a little bit tomorrow, But tomorrow night is gonna be long for us big.
TC, I'm excited.
I didn't realize how excited big is.
He's had me listening to like,
who the warm up acts are and everything else,
but tell me what we're doing tomorrow night.
Oh, it's the big concert tomorrow TC.
Oh, we got Frida Rydings as an opener.
She's the stuff I like of hers is more emo kind of singer
songwriter piano.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no love it. I love it. Well, Randy, Tom, Tom
Dennoi in the comments was saying, you need to take the, the Mr. Jones boat ride, you
know, come over on the ship, the Transatlantic Crossing next time. That's perfect.
That would be awesome. That would be awesome. I know. I do have C-Signus issues.
I know I do have C sickness issues. Yeah, I think you're on a big enough ship.
And you could read the study with a glass of brandy.
It's like it's like June 1st.
Guys, I'm leaving for the women's open.
Isn't that like the second week of August?
Yeah, well, I'm taking the ship over.
So, you know, it's like a six week passage.
My mom's are my parents neighbors always used to do it.
They love it.
It's like we're blowing their favorite things.
So, uh, that's pretty good.
That's pretty good.
How was the flight over?
Do you have a good time?
No.
TC, I had a wonderful time.
I had a wonderful time.
I flew United of course.
TC into the Queen's Terminal, right? Yeah, yeah, flew into the Queen's terminal, right? Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah, flew into the Queen's terminal terminal to I actually thought it was awesome.
I everybody kind of dumps on Heathrow, but terminal two is great. Yeah.
TC splash and points got me a Polaris upgrade for the flight over.
First time I've ever had a lay flat seat. I will say I'm too big to actually like really fit,
but I was able to kind of curl up a little
fetal position with my knees out towards the aisle and enjoy some of the, you know, the lay flatness
of it. I honestly think that's probably the reason I felt like I got a little bit of sleep on the
flight. That's probably the reason I woke up that first night at like 2am because that usually has not happened to me on any prior trip over here.
So I'm almost thinking maybe the lay flats are a dangerous game.
Yeah.
Or you got a, you know, you got a like OD on melatonin and try to get yourself in kind of in the
right, like it's, you know, either go to bed as soon as you get on the plane, that sort
of thing.
So yeah, maybe some some sleep PDs.
Anyway, guys, I mean, I have to go to Memphis on Sunday.
Tommy's played that.
Tommy's telling me that Memphis is a concern a major for you.
No, I mean, it would be his first, you know, you guys shit all over him all the time for not having one on the PGA tour.
This would be a playoff event, you know, all sorts of stuff.
I can't emphasize enough how good Lucas Glovers playing to like, he's number one in the
in-stroke game approach by like a mile.
It's crazy.
He's not even like he's just like pretty just flat as far
as pudding goes. At least yesterday was and he shot 66 64 solar. This is a drastic improvement
for the normal Lucas color pudding. Yeah. I mean, he might be like the like the best player in the
world right now. It's crazy. So I hate that for Tommy that you just admitted that but yeah, I'll go with that
What are you gonna do if tomorrow night?
Tommy is in the final grouping out in Memphis and Lynn is in the final grouping out here a
Trans choice if you will
Lots of fire up a little Instagram live or something and you know way the pros and cons and all that
So let the people decide yeah, yeah, I Instagram live or something and you know, way the pros and cons and all that.
So let the people decide. Yeah.
Recorded. Yeah.
Um, got what else? Yeah.
I'm stoked to, stoked to watch the US women's AM
this afternoon. I think there's some awesome matches
and if all breaks right, we, we could have some like
all-time semi-final matches as well.
Bell Ares looked awesome.
NBC, golf channel lost the commentary yesterday
for like an hour.
So they were just straight ambient noise
and you know, player, caddy combos, it was awesome.
And some of the worst pots I've ever seen.
Like missing on the wrong side of the whole,
you know like terrible green
rating, some great puts, some awful, awful misses in spots, 16 and 17 were given them
fits. It was it was a delightful watch. I can't wait to fire up.
Kids aren't properly aim pointing out there. They're not properly aim pointing or a lot
of them didn't take local caddies, which I think was. So because that valley, you know,
like, or that canyon that it sits in, there's some crazy shit on that back nine. So I've never been
there. You play there. No, I mean, sorry. We were not on that trip. But I will say in
all sincerity, I think if I do have a regret this week, it is missing out on all the coverage
of the women's am because Bel Air, I mean, TC, from your experiences
and everything you've said tonight, it sounds like an awesome course. So that's, I'm sorry,
I haven't really, I mean, I haven't seen a single shot.
It's okay. We're out here. We're forward deployed. We have a mission. We're trying to accomplish
this. People who want to know more, obviously, I guess some of our takes about the US women's amateur. Check out Jordan Perez doing great coverage right now.
But guys, I have some T times for tomorrow.
Toronto, I'm not smart enough.
Norma is my computer or the website set up in order to translate these.
Eastern time.
They're all going to be local time.
Just a couple of five.
Just a couple.
Yeah.
So the good news is that the other night sitting at the patio, having two
beers at Woking Golf Club, we met a gentleman who was a big fan of the NL.
He was, but also his wife is a member at Walton Heath, an accomplished
player in her own right.
And she is going to be the marker.
We needed an odd number. We have an odd number. Hell yeah. And I believe she is going to be the marker. We needed an odd number.
We have an odd number.
Hell yeah.
And I believe he's gonna be counting for it.
Yes.
So we have more to report on that tomorrow.
Let's just look at the name.
Listen, first name Johnny.
We don't have a surname.
Back nine Johnny.
Back nine Johnny.
Yeah, that's what we'll call him.
Yes, but we'll make something happen for him.
All right, I don't think we need to start all the way at the bottom. Oh, God, no. I think, uh,
let's see, start at the, who'd you eliminate? Everybody at two? Yep. Yeah. Yes, start at three.
Well, we will mention Lin Grant's team. We didn't eliminate everybody at two. We eliminated everybody.
One of two is in. Lin is two. He's in true, but we don't need to worry about some of these.
All right, you Lou came out hot yesterday struggling a little bit today.
She's playing with Jaravie Bhuchant.
Next group.
I'm going to butcher that name.
I'm sorry.
I apologize to the people, but Jungly six is playing with more more rain,
more green Metro. Okay. And that's our guy burns, that's that's
burns bag Irish catty good lad, good lad, proper lad,
burn, proper lad, ayaka, food away group with Gia Shin, Lindsey,
we've a right is playing with Inji Chung, T.C.'s girl.
Oh, I'm a Cita and Lynn Grant playing together.
You gotta like that, right?
Lynn's gonna put her in a body bag.
Lynn is impressive. I will say this.
Like, it's just one of those things.
Watching her play golf in person, you see what's common. She's, she's dripping with tools and like sneaky swagger
to. Yeah. Rhino tool great to see her playing good. I actually mentioned her. Um, as, as Randy
and I were, we've now reached the 830 Eastern time in the States, 830 Eastern, the Ryan O tool, Pring, Delacore to some perfect.
Next, Genyan Co and NASA.
Woo.
Wood watch.
Yeah, that's good.
Guys, are we in the nest?
Of course.
NASA doesn't do much for me.
I mean, I like the idea of NASA.
It's just something just doesn't add up for me.
Randy's pulling pulling funding from the space program.
It's more of a blue orange and guy. I hate to hear that. Well, I've just been honest.
Next year, Minji Lee is playing with Aditi. Minji Lee, it's hit the ball great. She just cannot make a putt.
But that's like the normal for Minji lately. So I don't know what I don't know what's going to change. Who knows if something will change, but she's, you know, both of three
under starting the day. Hope for good things from her.
Allison Corpus with Ataya again, if I would have had an eight on the opening hole of this
major championship, I would have been thinking about how I can get to Heathrow. I may have looked out of here.
I may have gone immediately.
Now, just not only made the cup, but sits the 300 total.
Jody Eurot, shout off, haven't seen any of her at all.
Playing with Angel, but man,
TZ, you mentioned earlier, how phenomenal this year Angel has been for not only majors, but like overall. This is very much like thinking back to her Saturday and Sunday at Pebble. Obviously not the back night that she wanted on Sunday,
but she has that fire in her. She has that confidence in her and like big things. I think she has a big day to her.
She's pounding on the door. She's not knocking on it. She's pounding on it.
She's pounding on the door. She's not knocking on it. She's pounding on it.
Okay, keep going. Take us down the T times. Sarge. Gabby will be in the segment with Alice Lee. This is already too far. TZ, I don't know how you do this
anymore. Right. H.H.H.
You're done too far down. You don't like premium beef. That's fine playing with Lily.
Great sceneer and good for him again. Minami Katsu have no clue with her potential manipulator for sure.
It's playing with Charlie.
I don't know if that's a good thing for Charlie or a bad thing because everybody out here,
I mean, luckily Georgia made the cut barely, but like Rose has a massive gallery.
Yeah.
Charlie has a massive gallery and Georgia has a massive gallery.
That's, that's it. And obviously, like, they they had really good feature grouping so that the rest of them were filled out with obviously superstars in the women's game, but tomorrow every single person on this golf course is going to be watching the'll take Charlie by double figures tomorrow over
a Monami. Wow. Okay. That's that's big. And then we've got Andrew and and
Ally you. So that's the final time. That's nine 55 Eastern. Yep, nine 55 Eastern.
USA Network Stateside tomorrow, I believe coverage begins at 7 a.m. We'll run to the conclusion of play
Yeah, it should be a good one the weather looks good, you know
There's there's always the the caveat that we are in England, but everything appears good and
It's gonna be an exciting day. I think Sarge will probably be out with one of those final groups if I had to guess one of the lead
One of the you know kind of in the mix two sums. Yeah, with one of those final groups, if I had to guess one of the lead, one of the, you
know, kind of in the mix two sums. Yeah. For sure. Let me, uh, who's your pick? So to start
the week, I want to clear the deck. I pick, I picked my Edwin. Um, she made the cup barely.
She was like, she got to her fifth hole yesterday, her, her front side of this golf tournament and had the
nastiest power lip from like two and a half feet that sent her like mentally into the
fucking stratosphere dude.
She ejected from that point with so many holes at golf left to play.
I don't know how she actually made the cut played okay today, but from
that moment on, like we were Randy and I were sitting behind that green. I'm like, Oh, man,
she gone like this. There goes my pick. Randy, you went with Rose. What do you think? You
hold on to it? I am going to hold on to it for one more day. I'm going to hope for a
miracle. I don't feel good about it, but I can't abandon her yet. Okay. TC, your early selection.
Of course, was Lynn Grant. Where are we sitting at? Yeah. Uh, early selection was Lynn Grant. I think
I'm going to go Charlie whole. I'm actually going to go Charlie as well. I don't think Rose is
going to win. And TC home to the managed crowd, she's got that look in her eye.
Let's do it.
I'm struggling.
I know we're big J journalists here.
We're doing very professional work.
So I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say I'm like rooting for it.
Actually, I say I'm rooting for stuff all the time.
I don't know what I'm talking about.
I'm struggling to think of a time where I've wanted something more than for Charlie to win
this weekend.
Yeah, it'd be really cool.
And I think just the spectacle of all that would, everything that would happen around here.
Also for Grant Boone's sake, he went out on a limb.
He did.
He's a little nugget about that.
Yeah.
Last two majors, you know, you had Alison Corpus in
American winning the US Open, yet Saline Boudier. It's not the French Open, but winning the
Evian in France. And now, you know, we could have Charlie Hall winning the British Open,
the women's Open here in England. How fitting with that, PTC? How about it, Randy? Like I could see you doing donuts, you know, donuts in the car, you know, driving on the
right side of the road.
I'm just going to do an Indy 500 around.
Yeah, I'm just going to do the Indy 500 around one of the roundabouts.
If that does, if Charlie does somehow end up, I think you've got to find the after party.
Well, I think we might have to change our flights because I don't, I don't know what that,
the rocket ship of an after party entails, but just going off what I've seen publicly,
I'm sure it's a lot.
Now, it might not even be the official after party.
Charlie might not even be evolved.
It might, it might be like a party at two here.
Just me and you go out and celebrate Charlie Charlie might go for video games or something.
She might go like, oh, duty. Yeah. Charlie's gonna have fun for tonight. You know, I
are gonna go to the pub and get knackered. I love it. What's all right, boys? Yeah.
Any last thing, any close calls on the, on the driving front, I tend to find it after the first
day, I find it relatively straightforward.
The times that I struggle is when I'm pulling out of a parking lot or just getting started
when I get in the car, it's like having to jolt yourself back to, oh, like I got to go
up the left side.
Yeah, you just look both ways a lot.
And after I get started, I'm good
after like once I'm on the road. I scared Cody. I put the left side into some some hedges
at one point, but he put my seat into a head row. It was a necessity. Some of these lanes,
DC, the to calm roads or streets is a disgrace. Like, what are we doing? They're like horse
trails that we're trying to fit two cars on
I don't know what we're doing over here and the parking to everybody parks wherever they want these streets
That are already tiny people just park on whatever side
Anything whatever direction you got a swirve you don't know like the proper procedures of like who's supposed to go first or like
You know anything like that. He's done pretty good on the traffic circles. I know those are always a contested issue. Yeah, I think we really had to make a couple extra roundies
Yeah, but you know if you get caught in like that that tight that inside lane and you need to get that turn
You're you're in trouble. You're not getting out, but you shot the gap one time all right proud of him
I think we got our routine down
And yeah, we'll see what a report there. But the rental car is still in one piece.
We're still in one piece, even though we tried to decapitate me by putting me completely in the
ditch. Yeah, that was tough. We made it though. I'm glad you guys made it. Doing a great job.
Excited for tomorrow. Randy, hopefully you get some time with the king.
Yes. This is your first time since since the change of change of the crown there.
So thank you. Thank you. Yeah, I'll be on lookout for King Charles.
Did you tell him who the concert actually was?
Ellie Golden. Yeah, just make it here. You were pretty excited about it earlier.
So I don't know why you're playing it down there. No, you just aren't paying attention.
make it here. You were pretty excited about it earlier. So I don't know why you're playing it down now. No, you just aren't paying attention. No, TC, I was going to say, all sincerity. We miss you.
We wish you were here. I appreciate you joining us tonight from Florida. I hope the boys have had a
good return to school week. Everything's good on the home front. We'll have to make it happen
next year for the open, but for everybody listening for everybody watching sincerely. Thank you
Enjoy the golf this weekend. I think it's gonna be a very very very very good tournament
I'm excited to watch and whether you're a state side whether you're over here in the United Kingdom whether you're anywhere in the world
find it
Yeah, I think I feel I just feel like some specials going to
happen this weekend. I don't know why. Watch the golf, support the ladies, if you can't watch it,
listen to us on radio. Appreciate everybody getting engaged on the socials with us as we kind
of go through this experiment. It's been felt very, very nice as well as people. A lot of people
coming up here to remember this fan base, base of course people with tears in their eyes
Yeah, really tears in her eyes handed me the camera to take pictures with Randy
So I appreciate all of them. I'm glad we take any pictures that they need with the big guy
But yeah, I think TC the next time we were do a live show is going to be Sunday
And I'm sure the Sunday show is going to be a hefty one. Right now, what time is it for you? It is 435 p.m.
each time. So coverage coverage of Memphis is not even going to be close to being done
by when we're done here. So this is going could be the latest live show ever for us. I understand
that's part of the job. We're going to have to figure out the logistics of it. But we call it after party. We will need to appreciate God. I didn't think
about that. Oh, no. I might be called from an after party too. If we get an English double, you know,
from central time. There we go. Yeah. Yeah. But yes, we'll be alive on Sunday. Thank you for everybody who checked us out.
Thanks for everybody who tuned in today.
Randy, thanks for being the leader of the UR out here.
Tremendous job.
TC again, thanks for dialing in.
We'll see everybody on Sunday.
Cheers.
Crackle on.
Get it right club.
Be the right club today.
Yes. Yes. Randy, That is better than most.
How about him?
That is better than most.
Better than most.
Expect anything different.
