Hello, I'm Carriad. I'm Sarah. And we are the Weirdo's Book Club podcast. We are doing a very special live show as part of the London Podcast Festival. The date is Thursday, 11th of September. The date is 7pm and our special guest is the brilliant Alan Davies. Tickets from kingsplace. It's coming to London. True on Saturday the 13th of September. At the London Podcast Festival. The rumours are true. Saturday the 13th of September at King's Place. Oh, that sounds like a date to me, Harriet.
not the law firm or that magician.
It's like a magician thing, isn't it?
The magic circle, I believe, is where the magicians meet in there are various different layers.
Right.
I didn't mean that then.
But we are also creating a magic circle of power, of energy, of joy.
Okay, so every Halloween, we do a Halloween-y sort of like themed.
We don't spooks.
I once read large sections of the book, Roll Dole's the Witches.
Yes, that was a low.
That was a low.
And then, and also obviously like the first one we went like, you know,
25 years ago we saw this podcast was like how to enjoy Halloween or something and then it was like
how do we do all the different things we did have to be a witch one time we did have to be a witch
and Halloween parties we've just done like spooky stories we just did speak stories from beyond the
grave that was fun so many ways I think this one's going to be one of our most professional I feel like it is
because I've been really fascinated by sort of like spiritual vibes is what I say but also when I was
younger as well it was like a bit in between where I think I just discovered drinking and lost my
faith and would we say also perhaps my mind your mind
that people around you there was like an air of dismissal.
A hundred percent.
And you chose to get on board with that dismissal.
Even now, I make a big, like, I went for drinks with people who I would say are not the sort
of people that would go, look at the moon.
Wow.
And I smelt of wood burning because I'd burnt some wood because I'd done a spell for my friend
who's going through a hard time.
It involved a lot of paper, quite high GSM paper that I didn't realize.
And it was like, in order to get at the end, when the spells worked,
or whatever, you have to get rid of it, but throwing it in the bin is not great.
So you meant to, like, return it back to earth.
And obviously, if you live in some sort of, like, you know, witch house in the middle of the, you can bury it
or put it in a stream where I can only burn it.
So I essentially created this, like, bomb fire, which is illegal and dangerous.
And there was so much smoke that sort of choked myself in this kind of pan.
The neighbours, like, I've got like a million neighbours because I live in, like, a block of flats.
Sort of staring at me like, what is she doing?
So I made a lot of, like, well, I just burn some wood because of a spell and blah.
made it like a fun thing, but I very rarely talk to those people in an earnest way or sincere
way about these things. So I've started doing, I suppose yes, there are spells, but to me,
you can go, I'm nude at a crossroads, I'm wearing a pointy hat, I call myself the Raven King
and I've sacrificed a chicken. Like, you could do, there's a million different ways to do a spell.
And in its simplest form, that's what I do, which is the least amount of business, but just enough
to give me a little something, something.
gorgeous just enough but I think one of the very first things you ever told me was that as a that you
like were a hard pagan as a child I and that you can't believe I did I well how do I know that
well I mean I mean the first thing I ever said to you yeah hello I'm a hard pagan I'm a wrecked
I'm a sexually aroused pagan I'm a sexually aroused pagan I'm yeah that you had this book of which
which which book yeah and you did your spells and you wrote extra spells in your book and you you
you know. Yeah, when I was younger I did, not at uni, but like, I'm not all the way through
my 20s. I returned to it recently because I didn't really ever like connect with or like,
it wasn't really brought up in any faith. I didn't really connect with the church or didn't
really understand, like, I could never really feel it in my heart until, um, I read about like,
it kind of, it is magic, but it's almost like it's like subconsciously programming your brain
to change your behaviour as well. So like, but I love all that mystic stuff and would love to have
been like, you know, the teenage witch. So it's like a marriage of both of my favourite
things like being like oh there's some science in it there's a reason why even like hard
erect businessman like swear by affirmations or mantras like these are your goals and you're
you're going to repeat them in front of the mirror like every morning to remind yourself of where
you're going like to train your brain it's exactly the same you've got a candle and you're not
a hard businessman absolutely but i also really like um witchy stuff too like the practical magic
house that they all live in and like you among us does not god god
Oh, spells.
Oh, yes.
Well, they're simply a way of in an uncontrollable world seeking some control.
Oh, my God, that's all we need.
That's all we need.
And so you can turn your nose up at spells, but I see you're heavily involved in your cryptoc currency.
Absolutely.
Your stock market.
You're watching that stock market, hey, but you won't watch the moon.
Money's not real.
Money's not real, but the moon is.
You know, it's all nonsense.
It's all moon.
It's all moon.
Guys, it's all moon.
So like, you know, don't, if nothing else from this, please take away that, like, it's not your place to snare anybody else's thing.
No. And also, if you're like, I have no interest in this, absolutely fine. Lots of people genuinely don't.
But some people are like, oh, I would like to tap. I would like to pop in.
Yes, I suppose we're speaking to A, the enthusiasts who are like, hurry up with the spell.
And be the people who are like, oh, can I? And you're just like, yes, please come in.
And people who are like, please unpack why you're so derogatory, publicly derogatory about people who do enjoy.
astrology or whatever they're personally into it's like if no one's getting hurt and they just they get
a lot of joy out of it like who the hell are you to say anything and I suspect you're jealous so pop in as well
wow yeah now stevie or the raven king sorry yes I will be called I'm called the raven king
I know you had came up with your own name and now you have to do mine as well but can I have one of course
silver wolf tide oh I love it okay great just pick three words fuck
silver wolf tied and the raven king yeah silver wolf tied and the raven king
But tonight, and we will now be going on a guided spell.
We will be going on a guided spell.
Before we begin, what will we need?
A great question.
So one of the things I really like is that obviously if you're like a millionaire and you want to go hard,
then of course you can buy like a million different things and you can have the,
I mean, I can't even matter.
The cauldron made from cast iron that looks exactly like an old witch.
It's got lovely for you.
But also you can have absolutely nothing and still do a spell.
because the fundamentals of it for me,
so this is like a more of like a spiritually like,
you know how like in Pocahontas, they're like,
I know every rock and tree and creature has a life, has a spirit, has a name.
Like she's like connected to everything.
And it's like there's like a life force through everything.
I feel like the umbrella thing that like everybody kind of plays in
is the spirit or like the universe or whatever you'd like to call it,
which essentially we don't understand,
but there's some like when you look out towards the universe,
like where did the big bang?
come from, all that sort of like, there is like this dark matter, like the stuff that we
can't explain. And so the undercurrent of that is there's some sort of like energy pulsing
through that you can use to help you or use to help others, use to channel it. And whether or not
you believe that is magic or whether or not you believe that that is like your brain firing
neurons to help program yourself to behave in a subconsciously more different way, what is
the difference if the result is the same? Like, you know, so I quite, I like thinking about it like
that because I'm slightly too logical to fully submit myself to like, I don't know, yeah,
like the goddess and the god and like all that kind of stuff. So with that in mind, you don't actually
need anything. But what I would say is get things that make you feel a bit fun. So I like to,
for example, I've got like a little office and I kind of like turn it into like, and now it's,
the work's done. It's time for the spell. So I have these like sage, sage,
sticks the sort of set fire to smells like really smells okay my father's always like you've just
sort of spell again I see I was like come out of everyone's like smoke coming out behind me and
my tortoise is like eyes are watering because she's in the office and like the the demon belzebub is
behind you sorry sorry yeah it's like in that insidious film when he turns away there's that demon behind
him and it's absolutely terrifying but I'm imagining it yes you can get these sage sticks they're
really cheap and you like them and you go gosh good lord and it's quite thick smoke I'd say crackle
window open at this point and you can do it in any way like look it up see how you you want to do it
I like the least amount of kind of like business as possible so conceal the smoke and you can see it all
come out I sort of imagine it's just cleansing all of the room of like the energies of the day
my tortoises energy perhaps like my own energy so everything just feels like you're starting
fresh it's like you've cleaned your desk off to work like and then it also as well
crucially, like, makes a different atmosphere.
So when I'm doing that, I have, like, candles around my office that I'll just light.
They're just, like, normal candles.
They're not expensive.
They're not, like, because, you know, you can buy, like, really expensive candles that are, like,
they've been charged with this magic.
I think that's sort of balls.
I think just any candle.
I like beeswax candles.
I'm not very into buying things that someone else thinks they've charged with magic.
I would prefer to charge my own magic.
Oh, and you are, you are a witch.
Thank you so much.
I think there's something very much like, oh, I need to buy someone else's,
Yeah.
Can you trust that they did it?
Can you trust it?
Yeah.
You know, it's like buying like pants off people in the internet, you know?
I mean, it happened in Orange is the New Black.
I don't know if it happens.
I assume it happens in real life.
They try and sell some pants that the ladies in prison have been wearing.
I'd be like, how do you know they were in prison or they've actually warned them or anything, you know?
You're just like buying into someone else's, you know.
Yes.
You're trusting someone else.
And like, a lot of this is like, you've got to take ownership.
Yes.
You've got to be the power.
If you've charged your own can.
which we can go into, sure.
Then, yeah, like, it means more immediately.
Like, everything.
And that's kind of, I feel like that's, like, the, for me,
and other people do like to do different things,
but I feel that that's how I like to do it.
It's all my things.
And then it makes it, like, individual.
And you can't go wrong.
You can't be like, oh, the candle's not charged properly.
Like, it's like, no, you've done it.
So, like, yes, I'd say, crucially,
don't involve, or you don't have to tell anyone
that you think you'd feel judged by that you're doing it.
Never, never, never.
Don't let any of that energy in.
It's all about, like, good,
energy, your energy, you don't need anyone sort of like sitting in the corner of the
flat being like, and is that sage, is it?
Yeah.
And you're just going to burn that throughout.
You know what anyone doing any little pranks and like knocking on the root?
Like pretending that there is.
It's like, not about ghosts actually.
Unless the spell is about ghosts in which case fair, but like weird, but fine.
If you can, everyone's out.
Everyone's gone out.
Oh, bit of home alone time.
Bit of home alone.
We're doing a spell.
And like the film home alone, you'll be doing a spell.
So you've done your stage.
And yeah, I like to have like little candles kind of around
just to get me in the kind of mood
and I kind of turn all the lights off
so it's just candle light.
That's quite nice too.
It's sort of like when we're doing how to have a bath
which feels like that's really obvious
but I needed that episode
about how I was sort of like just had all the lights on
and was just sitting in the water like,
I don't want to stare at my nude body in this strip light
and then the moment it was like, oh, soft lighting is important
and like, so make it a vibe
if this is what you kind of are into.
There's all a lot of things about like,
you have a ritual bath
beforehand, I don't bother with that.
What I'm going to describe now, what I am describing,
is what I think is almost like the most basic.
The most basic spell is a happy birthday,
blowing you candles up, making a wish.
That's the most basic of spells,
because you're setting intention,
you're blowing out candles, you're focused on it,
and then it's like, so it's like a little ritual.
So it's like that, but extrapolated out,
you can keep going.
That's thing, and once you've brought into the idea of like,
oh, look, people are like, I wouldn't do a spell,
it's like, oh, you do a spell every year.
Yeah.
And that's the spirit of witchcraft.
Yeah, and that's witchcraft.
Exactly that. It's like, oh, okay, I've bought into that as a ritual.
Oh, okay. It's exactly the same.
Carry on.
So then you're going to get your candle.
There's all different colour correspondences.
You can go to, if you want to be as simple as possible, white candle.
Easy, because that is a combination of all the different colours,
and then you can just, like, sort of imprint onto it, whatever you want.
The main rules of spells, which you can do whatever you like,
but you'll understand what I mean when I say the rules,
which is like, so one thing is, like, whatever you put out,
make them back to you three times. So if you're just sort of being horrible or like just sort of hexing
someone, I don't really understand all that stuff, but you see people on TikTok being like,
how to hex your man? And you're like, okay, if we're going back to the like the subconscious
brain and the messages that you're telling yourself, I don't think that's a healthy message
should be telling yourself. So whether or not you believe in magic or not, sort of putting all of
that energy into something negative is not going to bring you positivity regardless of whether you believe
that it's the moon or it's not, you know? So that's one. But also if you
really truly looked upon the reality of a hex.
Like, if you hexed your ex and, you know, something awful happened to them, like, you sort of
never forgive yourself.
You would be like, sorry, that's actually not why.
I thought he'd like maybe get like a wet foot when he put his new socks on or something.
And now he's dead.
And now he's dead. Sorry about that.
You got trench foot and died.
You got trench foot from the wet socks situation.
You'd be like, you know, you'd never, don't hex.
Don't hex people.
Don't hex people.
Don't hex people. Number one, don't hex.
It's just not worth it.
It's just not worth it.
It's not worth it.
It's not worth it.
It's not powerful.
Yeah, you're too powerful.
Come on, right in.
Go rein that in.
With great power comes great responsibility.
Jesus.
Spider-Man.
So the other thing is sort of a similar vein with it's like, and harm to none, do what you will.
So like try not to harm anybody or anything.
It's safest to do a spell or sort of on yourself or for yourself.
If you're not someone who does loads of them, there's issues with consent.
Like if you're, you know, putting all this stuff on someone else, I don't know,
kind of is a bit blurred, a bit icky if you're like trying to do something for someone.
they might not want that and like that's like a kind of a weird I don't know if you believe in like the whole like magic thing then that's not helpful what would you think of something for someone else I do them all the time so in Edinburgh I did a big spell of my partner and sort of got quite freaked out because in the visualization of it I specifically visualise a few things that like I kind of didn't realize until they'd happen I was like that was actually what I thought and I sort of became like I'm so powerful yeah and and then a comedian he was living with was like I'm doing I'm having a hard time and I'm doing this like
could you do a spell for me? And I was like, sure.
She's like, I smashed it. And then, and then I got two more spell regrets.
I was like, this is too much.
Too much. It's got stressed like, oh my God.
I can't be a commercial witch.
I can't be a commercial witch. Like, you know, I feel like,
are those things that you would say are for somebody else.
Like that you're saying don't do them.
You're hell. Even, I'm just like, you absolutely can.
But I think it's like, just make sure you're doing something that if it's for someone
else, you know that they would definitely want it.
Also, as well, it's a bit of a waste. You're doing your spell.
What if it's something that, like, you don't know that that person doesn't do it for
yourself, mate, at this point. Why not? And then you can see the effects and like, you know,
feel different. It's a bit sort of put your own oxygen mask on before others. Wow. Wow. Wow.
Such a practical analogy. But it's, yeah, perfect. But in which graph, so poignant. So poignant.
But it is all about the oxygen mask. But it is that, isn't it? Being like, if your instinct,
when you sit down and be like, oh, okay, I should wisp for my friend to get this job, be like,
okay, why is that your instinct? Like, let's do a little bit closer to down. Put your own,
put your own oxygen mask on first.
But you know when you're like, there's only so much worried to go around.
Let's start here.
Give yourself a little bit because you're doing this for yourself.
Before you go into this entire process, you need to know exactly what you want.
And you want to go as specific as you can, specific as possible.
It's kind of helpful to like write it down in like a sentence as if it's happened.
So you're doing a presentation at work and you want to be really confident and you want it to go really well.
You don't go like, I do a spell to make this presentation go really well.
You say the presentation goes well.
I get everything I want from it.
I feel really confident when I'm doing it.
For example.
And do I say I or do I say Tessa?
I.
For you, yeah.
I've just heard some people say that you're supposed to do like,
it's actually for less spellwork,
but like this sort of vibe.
Yeah.
Of being like on January the 1st,
Tessa did an amazing dance.
Yeah, great.
Everyone loved it.
Yeah.
And almost like it's a Wikipedia page,
but in the past.
If you want to do that,
that does the exact same job.
All of this is helping you visualize.
the thing happening.
Yeah.
Because all of these things
are aids
to help you focus
on what you want
and see it.
It's exactly what
in those hard businessman books
are like,
see your goal.
See your goal.
So if it helps you
to write in third person,
fourth person,
fuck it.
Not second person,
because that's you know,
what's fourth person?
I made it up.
But like you could make one up.
And that's something
the Raven King can do.
Yes.
That's part of witchcraft
syntax and grammar.
There will be a fourth person
with you in the room.
Again, sorry,
I don't mention it.
Sorry,
we skipped ahead a bit.
Yeah,
he will arrive at some point
during the sage bit.
And he won't leave.
So I say,
I'm, my presentation goes fantastically well.
I don't stutter.
I'm really confident.
And my boss, Jeremy, shakes my hand and squeezes my shoulder and says, good job.
Okay.
If you wanted that specific, fine.
You have to be careful that you're not putting so much specificity on it that you're
actually doing it to test whether the spell's going to work or not.
And that overshadows the programming.
And then your brain is actually latching on to the let's see if spells work
rather than what you want it to latch onto,
which is it my presentation is going to go well.
The Raven King, you keep me humble.
Thank you, thank you for your wise words.
It's what I'm here for.
And for calmly redirecting me there.
Thank you.
And also as well, like, if it's like you're on bakeoff
and you want the handshake from Paul Hollywood,
then you could say, like, I'm going on bakeoff
and I get the Paul Hollywood handshake.
Because that's a specific thing.
Whereas if you're just like asking,
like, Jeremy will do it.
he's never shaking your hand before.
I think I was just trying to be like,
is, do we need to be like incredibly specific?
So you sort of think through how it will feel if it goes well.
Yes, yes.
That, yes.
But if you're doing it to test something,
don't bother.
There's no point in doing this.
I was just trying to think like,
why do I want to impress Jeremy?
I was trying to like,
maybe you're in love with him.
Yeah.
And then he snogs me.
He snogs me passionately.
Sure.
But again, now.
Love spells not good though.
No, no.
I'm just checking in with myself there of being like,
what am I doing here?
Why am I demanding Jeremy as approval?
It should be like,
I'm proud of myself. I do the speech as best I can. I'm confident. I don't stutter. I get all my
points out. And I feel I've done my best. And that's really all I can control, not how Jeremy
feels about it. You can be like, the presentation goes well, the board go wild. Like, you know,
like, you can imagine what I find helpful is to, is visualising, like, telling people about it
specifically. So, like, I was really worried about doing a run of shows. And I really, really imagined
the end of the shows having like a glass of wine and WhatsApping my partner who was,
in Edinburgh going, they went really well, I smashed it. I just really focused on that,
like, because also you can't hold too much in your minds out at once. So it's quite helpful
to just like, what would really mean that I've completed this or I have done this or I have
achieved this goal? What specific thing would have to happen? And whether that is, yeah,
something like as specific as like a comedy show and like you actually want to feel like you've
smashed it, really think of what you want, what you, what would mean that you've achieved
this. But you are going to write a sentence, which is like what you want. It's in the present
You can do it as Tessa, you can do it as I, whatever connects you to it as strongly as you possibly can.
That's why I do I, because it connects me the most of like, I'm doing it.
I feel much more strong about I than I do about writing my own name.
It's something like I had done, scene.
And I thought, is that what we're supposed to be doing?
No, sure.
But you're right, I don't feel any connection to it.
There's no supposed to be.
And then there's lots of, like, symbols that are like for health or symbols for this or there's like a nice thing.
There's like a grid with like all letters and you can like spell out, I don't know, your name or something important like this going like that.
and you make a sigil
and then you like put it on the thing.
All that's like, you can like play around
with whatever you think is fun
or you just write this,
which is the most thing I'm at,
I do the most,
you just write out the thing.
And again,
there's more ritual that you can add to this,
many witches like cast a magic circle.
In every witchcraft book,
there is how to cast a magic circle
and it's always different
depending on what that author does.
But you don't even need to do that.
What you need to do always is sort of like
take a breath,
really like get yourself,
like you,
believe that you can do this. You have the power to change your brain, to change your,
the way you are, you are going to be like, this is going to work. There's no room for doubt in
any way. You are completely certain and also like, you're up for it. And make sure you're not
pissed or anything, like, really like focus. And the simplest way of doing it is you're going to
light the candle, you're going to hold your affirmation. I sometimes like to put my hand
on the candle. And then I repeat that sentence over and over and over and over.
again. Sometimes I like to do like two sentences and they both rhyme. So it'll be like, I don't know,
something, something, something. My presentation goes well and the board love it, but you've rhymed
the first limit, you know. You know, here's an example. You know, but it rhymes. Imagine that.
Yeah, imagine it rhymes. Okay. So take a pause. Okay, so with this spell, my presentation goes well.
With this spell, my presentation goes well. Wow. And you just keep going. And it, and it only do that because
it feels like good.
And as I'm re-repping.
Amazing.
Because now immediately like,
well,
that's a spell,
that's a proper spell.
It's a full spell, yeah.
And so then you're thinking of that.
Now we've activated the magic.
And you're whispering that,
and you're whispering that.
And as you're thinking of it,
what you want to do is you want to get yourself into a position
where you're saying those words without really thinking about them,
and you're visualising that things that we were talking about earlier.
There'll be a central image that you'll find really easy to visualize for me.
It's always like WhatsApping apparently.
But like, whatever it is,
and you really feel yourself in a sort of vibe of it,
you're saying these words, you think, almost imagine that, like, there's kind of, like, the energy
of what I've created is, like, building, and I can kind of see it. It's, like, the candle's glowing
and glowing and glowing and glowing. And then when I, like, you kind of, like, reach, you feel like you've reached
a kind of crescendo of, like, your thoughts are so in line with what you're saying, and you're, like,
really, you feel like at your absolute peak. Then you sort of, you imagine the energy, like,
leaving, and you can pinch the candle closed, or what I like to do is, I burn the piece of paper.
and then I like to leave the candle burning
until the candles fully burn
so I've got these quite skinny beeswax candles
and a candle holder so I'll leave
and I think that's probably a fire hazard
so it's fine if you can't do that
you can also like put the piece of paper
underneath the candle
and like blow out so it's also part of the thing
people say a lot
they'll say that like
so moat it be which is like
this spell is done
or if you like let the candle burn down
you can like make up some kind of other rhyme
which is I don't know like
As this, oh, God, fuck, this is good in it.
As this candle continues to glow, the spell will go.
I'd like, something like that.
Not that.
Come on, the Raven King.
The Raven King.
The Raven King's not like, it's Raven King quite tired.
This is the thing about being a commercial witch.
Oh, I know.
It's too much.
Exhausted, actually.
As this candle burns down.
When the flame I no longer see, the handshake I'll get from Jeremy.
Excellent.
Perfect.
So essentially, you're like, just letting that energy go out into the,
world, have a quiet moment, and leave that there. You can do it. Like, each night, you can, like,
relight it, re-say the words, do basically repeat that kind of, like, building of energy and then
releasing. People say things like, don't blow your candle out because you're blowing the energy
you work, but, like, it doesn't, not that matter, like, really matters. Like, you could just,
it's all about the intention. So then you keep, keep doing it, and you can do it every night until
the thing, or you could do it, like, I don't know, a bit, like, as long as it's, like, it doesn't
actually matter, as long as you're doing it, like, to know which losing interest, hard.
You just do a bit. Or a bit, who.
But it's like as in like if you're unable to, because you've got flatmaids and you're unable to do it every night.
I think what they're saying.
It doesn't blow it out as long as it's not like, that's done.
Of course.
If it's like, and now I blow the candle out and I blow the energy into the sky.
You know, and then it's like, as long as all these things are intentional and purposeful, it's not like, oh, it's done now.
Yeah.
And then now I'm going to throw the candle on the bin.
Throw the candle a bit.
But if it's like, return to whence you came, candle, I relinquish you to the bin.
I was going to say, came rhymes with flames.
So you're quite close out to something incredibly.
like erotical words you know like I'm really feeling that when you have give up your flame I return
you to whence you came excellent and now it can go in the bin what do you meet no I don't know no you
shouldn't get rid of it until what you have until the spell was worked oh yeah and then
you should technically like from the bin I now claim and re light a sacred flame lovely um that actually
Yeah, that would work if you were getting out of the bin.
Well, I had to, because you threw it in the bin, yeah.
And then, like, yeah, you can, you meant to, like, I don't know, bury the candle or, like,
that's why I like to kind of have kind of skinny little beeswarks candles would burn down quite quickly
because then they're gone and you're like, great.
Any sort of, like, bits of ash or bits of stuff that you could, from the thing you've burned,
I like sort of just blow it into the wind.
Like, my balcony's got a lot to balance before.
The neighbours next door just covered in wax.
There she goes.
There she goes.
Blowing ashes again.
Other fun things you can carve your initials into the candle.
You can carve like symbols into the candle that you feel will work.
You can also like once you've got that basis of like intention, written down, thought, releasing.
You can then just like, it's like a capsule wardrobe.
You can access it up, you can dress it down.
You can do whatever you like that feels good for you.
And even that might be too much because actually you don't really need any of that stuff.
You can just like have a think.
But it's just nice to on Halloween do something a bit.
It's an intentional thing.
think, you know?
And have a look at moon phases.
Like, you know, pick a day, because that's quite nice sometimes, like picking a day
that matches with where the moon is and then you really feel like you're, you know,
doing something witchy, you know?
Just a little bit from silver, wolf tide on the moons.
If you're like, oh, which moon?
New moon, set the intentions, full moon, see them come to fruition.
Lovely.
So full moon, friends, bits, bits.
You can banish stuff at the full moon as well.
Let things go.
Let things go.
protection sounds quite good.
That's a good time to meet up with pals, do stuff.
I've been like, oh, things you've been working through come full circle.
But new moon now's the time for like, this is what I want.
Which feels counter-intuitive, doesn't it?
Doesn't it just?
Because you can't see the new moon?
Sorry, the Raven King.
Thank you.
Doesn't it just?
Yeah.
This is a crazy time.
I was like, obviously, full moon.
Now we set our dreams.
But new moon at the beginning of the thing, because full moon we're coming to our completion of our, of this cycle.
So new moon, I guess, is where we must begin.
It's where we must begin.
And take that candle out of the bin.
Excellent.
So, yeah, that was all my...
I think we should start a witch shop.
Wow, okay.
Yeah, what's in it?
Us.
Oh, right.
Yeah, no.
Well, books downstairs.
Fine, right.
And you go in the attic.
Yeah.
And it's us and you pay quite a lot of money for a one-on-one spell.
That's fun.
And it's always the same sort of spell that I've just said there.
So it's like, you could do that at home.
Yeah.
But we make such a song and dance about it.
Big song and dance.
And then it takes ages because you have to keep thinking.
of the poems. Yes, we have to think of them in real time.
And if the client speaks, like,
Ash, Ash, Ash, Ash, give you a minute.
I can't think when you're going,
I do a lot of that. Just wait for the poem.
There's a lot of tassels.
Okay, well, it's good to see our future.
Well, look, have a happy Halloween,
which technically is actually a sort of festival
to remember the dead, but look, like, it's fine, isn't it?
Enjoy your Sam Hain.
Enjoy the veil between worlds growing thin.
Enjoy the equinox.
Enjoy whatever you wish to enjoy.
Every year, I tell you it's pronounced Sir Wayne.
Every year.
You're joking me.
And every year.
you go, you're joking me.
Well, I suppose I've only got, it only comes up once, you're.
It's true.
It's not like I've used it day to day to day.
It's not like I've reset your brain each year.
How are you saying it?
I think it's like Sawaane.
Soane.
Yeah.
Well, in this shop.
It's Sam Hain, specifically.
It's actually that's what the shop's called.
It's called Sam Hardeem.
And then in brackets it says like how to pronounce it.
Yeah.
Hain.
Rhymes with rain.
Silver Wolf Shide and the Raven King.
Well, moat it be.
Moat it be.
I never know what moat means.
Let it be.
Isn't it mean might it be?
Jesus Christ, yeah, probably.
Either way, this was me blowing out my candle.
This is me.
What is that called?
Snuffing, not licking the candle with your fingers.
Lick the wick.
Lick the wick, and then snuff it out.
Am I right?
Okay.
Bye.
Bye.
Goodbye.
