Last time, you guys spoke to Profit Cain in the dark desert of the summer ring and learned the reason for his recent change of heart. He explained that he was hunting moxora because she'd manipulated him with quote, more trickster bullshit, just like the blades had. You found out that Cain first got a chip on his shoulder when his brother Caleb was killed

after following some sprites into the wild, then he finally snapped when he found out the blades were keeping the secret of Saronises from him in his mind, valuing one life above all others. Cain offered to help you kill Heredicia, but only if you'd kill Serenesis 2, a promise that you could not make. No. Unless you guys want to change your mind right now. Just re-harming.

No, we're still not. Everybody's still not. Yeah, great. After giving your reasons and pleading your case, Kane realized that you were the first honest people he'd met in a long time. He could not fight alongside you, but he wouldn't get in your way either. Kane dropped his sithe and walked off into the desert, Zirk debated trying to sneak up on him.

However, during the crowning ritual, Maksora tricked you into poisoning Arena's mind by posing as the fairy Sienna and sending her visions of your personal betrayals and moral failings. As the ritual ended, Arena dropped your hands and Maksora welcomed her as her sister, and that's where we are now. Everybody go ahead and roll initiative.

These beings, like a, somebody like a demigod or or a horror needs to be weakened before you can reason with them. This is her to a certain extent, but it's essentially like taking someone and poisoning their brain, so they look at all of their friends

as dogs and all the people they don't like it as mosquitoes. You know what I mean? So she's looking at you and she's like, do not worry, Fiat, it will be a beautiful new world! Maksora, aka Herodicia's turn. She looks to Arena and goes, finish them sister, there is another group that looks to thwart our efforts. More traders.

Arena nods, I will show them that they are on the wrong side. And Herodicia teleports, disappears. What? Check the trees. She's probably behind a tree. You fucking coward. You heard that was going to kill you.

You see how big my sword is. You fucking ground away. Show me your dirty work, huh? And we are going to cut over to another party. Mm-hmm. Trapcing through a scorched grove. You see the skeletal remains of centars and other majestic creatures.

The trees here are all dead, gray twisted branches. The grass is withered, hard-packed and covered in a dusting of snow, a hard and und-forgiving ground soil that is unlikely to grow anything ever again. You see the sky is white, like the fog around you, and the breath that passes through your teeth. It looks like it's about to snow at any moment

and yet it never does. This place is devoid of natural beauty. Occasionally you'll see like a skeletal vulture overhead looking for something to hunt, looking for you, waiting for you to drop, but for the most part the place is lifeless, quiet, except for the sounds of your boots crunching on the unforgiving soil, Teragon, Corbo, and Jabari! Welcome, Wilson! Welcome back! The hexbloods are traveling through the scorched grove.

I'll give you guys a little refresher. Back when we last saw the hexbloods, they learned that the sorceress, Maksora, who had manipulated their king, was a reincarnation of, or just a different version, a different avatar of the Mad Mage, Merrowin, the wizard who created the hexblood program

and your surrogate mother that you were forced to kill when you tried to use an army of constructs to destroy outer burrow. After the emotional toll, it took to kill her the first time you were horrified to learn that that person you destroyed was merely an avatar. I just can't believe we're back here. I just can't believe that.

It's like a fucked up family reunion. But Jabari appreciates a reunion. That is true, and we are wearing matching shirts. He could come on. After what would become known as the assassination through the sideflap? The sideflap. The sideflap. Highlights, yeah.

They sing songs of us. You guys are managed to escape to a grove after a chase, and you met up with your old friend, Glada, the frost giant, who told you more about Moxora, aka Merlin, aka, at this point, a million different people. Moxora is something of a lich, having lived 1000 lives and going by 1000 names, but rather than hiding her essence in like a talisman or some kind of item,

she simply keeps her true body safe and then uses an avatar to do all her dirty work. In order to finish her for good, you need to find her real body and destroy it. So Glada informed you guys that her body is located in a scorched grove to the north, the prophet Gideon, if you remember him, the dude with the ghost head, who ate a jackal of whole, who you guys eventually killed,

who you guys eventually killed, who you guys eventually killed, had helped Moxora destroy one of the groves and set up a new, essentially hiding place for her. And that's where you are now. You have traveled weeks to get here. Trek through the mountains north of the Empire through giant controlled territory, enlisting the help of old friends,

avoiding old enemies, before finally reaching an arcane gate. A set of trees with connecting branches, once bursting with leaves, despite the winter weather, now dead and naked, just like the scorched grove it hides. You guys have been hiking. This cake has been tough on my crocs. I'm gonna, immediately. My joints were hurting before we even got here.

Jabari is barefoot, but my excitement is really so cold. It keeps Jabari. Jabari's heart is so, it's pumping so fast. Jabari need only looking the eyes of his friends, and that gives him the warmth he needs to keep moving. Corvus, there's anine of plague, Dr. Mass. You can see my eyes. I can.

Yeah, I can do a dragon sight. I can actually see really well. Damn. So you guys have been hiking through these barons for hours when finally you arrive at the entrance to a tomb. Natural stone stairs lead up into a cave of ice and rock. It doesn't look natural, but it doesn't look like it was built by, you know, stone masons or anything like that. It looks to have been built by magic using kind of the natural landscape here. And you see that these

stone steps lead up to a dark archway through which you see nothing. Oh, this is so mom style. Somebody thinks this is where mom is. Okay, so before we go in, let's just real quick get our decks in a row. I'm going to take some of these bones that are just lying around. Yeah. And sort of position them to be like a little glyph in the ground. Okay. To cast glyph of wording with spirit guardians in it.

Whoa, rad. So I do that for a while. It's like a really cool ritual. Cool. I'm also going to cast Goodberry, and I'm gonna hand out some Good Berry's. We all got a little one hit point, bring someone back up. Oh, right.

Yeah. And you also see that during our hike, I've fashioned one of the thorns of the dragon rows into like a little short sword. That's awesome, I didn't tell you earlier, that's just really good. I know you guys played a lot of dice, and while you were doing that, I was kind of doing my cleric study, so...

grove. Oh my god. So you guys, you guys enter this tomb and you find yourself in a large cavern. Torches on the wall, suddenly, woo, woo, woo, woo, woo, a light, as does a brazier in the middle of this circular room. Everybody go ahead and give me perception checks.

Mm-hmm. 10, 19, eight. Everybody sees that the walls are made entirely of ice in this like circular room, but Jabari, you see behind one section of the wall, you see a mummified body draped in a robe of blue and black. Jabari just silently like taps his friend's temples. A little too hard.

How? How? And there. Somebody sees. Oh, God, it's mom, isn't it? It's like, to body senses inside. Yes. So do.
