This is a headgum podcast. Welcome back to Mario Party Tabletop, everybody. Woo-hoo! We're back with returning guests, Mike Trapp and Sung-won Cho. Hello. Hello. Last week we went through five rounds, right? Yeah, we went through five rounds.

We're doing 12 total, so seven more rounds. We are on round six with Toadley Jonathan Shell, Donna Kong, and wet bones. My favorite wet bones. Our favorite wet bones who went out on a huge W, honestly. A lot of L's. A lot of Ls. W for wet bones. Or game master.

All right. Let's just dive back into it. Remember, you have seven more turns. Make sure you use all those items by the end. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I've got seven coins and one star. I have a dueling glove and 21 coins.

I've got a Bowser suit and 30 coins. I've got 13 coins in a dream, baby. I also have boo repellent. Oh, that's true. All right. Murf, whenever you're ready. Oh, fuck, do you? Yeah.

Just get the boo repell in. Yeah, I literally was just looking at boo bell. I was going to spray boo juice all over you, but not anymore. Okay, rolling a D10. That's a big one. One, okay, so three coins for you on space three. All right, to land on a blue. Oh, yeah, because you got blasted back last night.

All right, whenever you're ready. All right. Of four. Okay. Ooh, is that a treasure chest? Oh. Treasure chest. Everything's coming up.

It's my lucky day. I just had to learn to dance. The thing is, wet bones, there is a fail on here. It's 1 through 21. Yes. I hope you don't. Okay, you didn't get it. You get a poison mushroom.

So this can be used on any player, including yourself, and they can only roll one to three on their next turn. Interesting. Oh, shit. The wetter they are, the harder they win. Wetter is better. That's what we say at Barrel Works Factory. Why your barrels to be wet?

If it's another one through first three It's going to be very funny No, it's blue All right, four player game. Four player game. All right, we're going to do full random. This is called treasure divers. Okay, so there are ten treasure chests.

One through four just have one coin in them. Five through seven have three coins in them. And eight through ten have five points in them. Each turn, you're going to pick a chest simultaneously to try to go for. So you can write four or seven or whatever. If any of you, however, pick the same one, you got to do speed rolls to see who grabs it. Oh, cool. But if you pick it.

pick a chest that nobody else pick, you just get the coins. So we should lock in our thing. You lock in your number right now. And then when I say, want you to go, on go, press enter. And we'll see if anyone has to compete over a chest. Okay. So it's a little mind game of what are you going to go for? Great.

Okay. Hopefully I will find an engagement ring for my sweet windy. Is everybody set? I'm so loaded up. One, two, three, go. For 10! Oh! Okay.

I love, just like, no one's going to be that greedy. That's what I've got to. So Trap and Murf are both at a 10. They're going to have to roll off. I second guess for a second My speed's not great if I get stuck in this situation I'm only in Caldwell, you just get five coins each I love it

So this is gonna be a speed roll Alright, so I gotta go I'll go D20 I guess I have a plus three to this Okay So reliever's trap but I mean You got a D20 too Uh oh You got a one

Okay You look at wet bones in the instruction manual and it just says, this guy sucks. So all the big chests are gone. So now it's just the medium chest, which are five through seven, and the small ones. I will open this chest, and then I will behead Mario. That bastard. All right. One, two, three, go.

Oh, no. Everyone's okay. Everyone's okay. So I did six, trapped did four, Emily did five, Caldo did seven. That's right. So Trapp was conservative. We want to the small one. The rest of us got three coins and we're greedy.

I get a coin. Thank you very much. Wet bones, do you have a CV? I'm really trying to figure out how to work you into my company. So there are only three chests of one coin each. But hey, every coin counts. Everybody ready? Yep.

Okay. One, two, three, go. Oh, Caldwell, you weren't ready? Yeah. I think he's got to be qualified. So Trapp and Caldwell do a speed roll off. And then me and M also both went for two. Correct.

Oh, okay. We'll do Trapp and Caldwell first. All right, I'm gonna do this D20 again. I'm gonna do it. See if it works a little better this time. I would love to boost a stat. Ooh, nine plus two, 11 for me. I have 11 plus one for 12.

Okay, so Trapp gets it. Congratulations. All right, thank you. I'm doing D20 plus three. Oh, terrible. Seven total. 18. Oh, okay.

And you get a stat boost. Oh, okay. So one coin for Ambelly. All right. So that means there's only the three chest left. So everyone just do a speed roll and see who gets it. All right. All right, D20 again.

I'm doing a D4 because I stand to get a stat boost. Let me see. Yeah, actually, you're right. I'm going to, yeah, I'll just choose a stat boost. I got to do 20. I'm going for the D20. All right, I got a four, so plus four to the stat. I did not get a stat boost.

I got a one. Net one. I got a nine plus one for 10. Okay, you're the only one who went high, right? So Trap got it? Yeah, I got a seven. with my four. Okay, so final looks like, oh, not pretty even.

So it's gonna be five coins for Faultwell, five coins for MIRF, six coins for Emily, three coins for Trap. Not bad, guys. All right. Back to the board. We're all winners. Murph, whenever you're ready. All right, beginning of round seven, Toadley, goes for the gold.

I'm first going to use my dueling glove. Oh, okay. I'm going to invite someone to join me on this bridge. Yeah, you can choose someone to duel and you're going to wager coins in this dual game. Okay. So who do you want to fight? How many coins are we have? So it looks like Emily has 36 or is she Donna Kong.

26 for Trap and 18 for Murph. Okay, I'm going to, can I wager the Bowser suit? No. Oh, okay, darn. I think I am going to duel against Donna Kong. That makes sense. How many coins do you want to wager? Ooh.

You get to choose. Fun. I got to go for broke. Yeah, I'm doing 20 coins. Oh. One star's worth. So each of you go out just to duck 20 now. The winner will get 40 coins.

If I win, you must teach me how to lay with women. Please. Teach me how to lay with women. And our mini game is going to be Pop Gun Pickoff. Oh, perfect for a duel. Oh, there's a cowboy one, right? You're thinking of Quick Drop Quarks.

It's also a great game. I'm a fucking idiot! We all make mistakes. And it's so. I'm rooting for wet bones. Webbones. Have you ever thought of being a corporate advisor? Because I'm actually about to lose a bunch of money

and I could use your sunny attitude. It's all I have. So here's how it works. Each turn, you're going to each do an accuracy roll to shoot baby Bowser. There's a bunch of baby Bowser. Yes. If you roll wrong, however, you shoot a toad and lose 10 points.

So it's going to be pure like what you roll is what you score. I see. A win-win other way. So for this first round, In order to succeed, it needs to be an 8 through 20. Okay. Oh, 8 through. Okay.

And whatever you roll is what you will score. I'm going for a D20. I'm not trying to, I'm not trying to base. Yeah, with 40 coins on the line, come on now. Okay. That's 12. 12. Okay.

My accuracy is shit. It doesn't matter because I got a 16. Oh, okay. So right now the score is 16 for Caldwell and 12 for Emily. And that means I boost. Yes. This next round, 11 through 20 is a success. 11 through 20.

All right, yes. Let's keep rocking that D20. Nat 1. Oh. I also got a Nat 1. What? You guys are just blowing Toad's heads off. These toads, they're encroaching up on the barrel factory.

He's gotten over the bridge. So there's a thwamp up there, actually. Uh-oh. But I put this dye out of one on the thwomp. So you got two options. You can either go down. You'll land on the battle space. A battle space will force everyone to wage your coins.

Oh. And like into a pot and you'll play a minigame. If you spend a coin and go up, you'll land on a question mark on the bridge. And you'll get blasted back to start. I don't want that. So I guess I have to go left. You're going to go down? Yeah, I'm going to go down and trigger the minigame.

Okay. So you're going to go onto that lightning bolt. Okay. And that's all of us? Because you don't have a skeleton key, right? No. Okay. Stand down, thwump.

So. How many coins does Caldell have? Nine? He's not even going to be able to afford the star. Shut out. Well, he might after this. We'll see how this goes. Let's make sure Caldell doesn't win.

All right? I just, I just love killing Toads too much. So I'm going to randomly determine how many coins are going to be wagered. It's 40. Oh my God. So I only have 18. So, give me your totals.

18, 9. But you lose 40 and you lose 26. What? This is a big pot. This is a big pot. This could set you up. Christ. First and second place will get some coins.

Yeah. Five. Okay. Do you have a skeleton king? I do have a skeleton king. So you have the option if you want to spend it and go through that door or you can keep going on. Probably don't want to because that's not towards, you want to go towards the star. Yeah.

He's got zero coins. This is my chance. This game, you just can't have any typos on your phone. As long as I know. He's typed so many typos. I didn't even know that this was something I was sensitive about. Siop. All right, this one is called Ridiculous Relay.

So in this one, you're basically doing, you have different types of vehicles, okay? Solo player. I'm so sorry, it's not strength. No! You're going to be alternating. speed rolls and evasion rolls. Okay, speed's pretty good too. So like to sort of paint the picture

as to what these sort of vehicles look like, this is purely just for the picture. Yeah. You are in a sort of like hang glider. And so you're like flying, but you're also dodging bullet bills. That's the in the reason why you were doing this one. Yeah, exactly.

So the first player is gonna have to do strength and speed rolls. The second player has to do jump, accuracy, strength, and speed. Christ. All four. It's gonna be like an A, B, Z kind of that. I have zero strength.

And the third player is just mashing a speed roll. So team, decide who's going to take what vehicle. I'm only good at speed, evasion. It feels crazy to say this because I've been so bad at everything. But I've got a pretty even spread except for strength. So I've got a plus one modifier in jump, speed, and accuracy. I've got two in jump.

I've got three in speed, and then I've got one in evade and one in accuracy. Okay, so you're better. So I'll do the all-around one. And I'll do the one that's just speed. Okay, and I'll do the other one. Okay, so can you tell me your order? None of us have strength, right? None of us have strength.

No. Who's first? Who's strength and speed? That's the little bit. Okay. So first is trap. Then second is me. Okay.

Third is M. Okay. What vehicles are you guys in? I'm not driving mine. I do have a chauffeur. So just to paint the picture, one of them is like a bullet bill. That's going to be the speed one. Yeah.

One of them is this weird spider thing. That's the second player one where you're doing like up a down, a upy down me. That was the design philosophy behind that. And the third one, I think is like a raft where you're doing like AB, AB, AB, AB. That's web bones. Okay. So the goal is to get to 100 first in your total rolls. Oh.

As you hit certain milestones, then a different player will jump in. Okay. So right now it's just trap and Caldwell. Right. So Caldwell, do a speed roll. Just start, just do that now. And you say this is with a plus one or do I, is that in addition to my own modifier? You get a plus one modifier on all your roles.

Oh, wow. For this game. In addition to my modifiers? In addition to your natural. Okay, cool. Yeah. All right. I look.

at this battlefield and I see these bullet bills and I say, these are my friends. I grew up with these bills. I also handcrafted these. That is going to be a seven. Eight, actually. Eight total? Trap. You're going to do a strength roll. All right, that's not great.

All right, I'm going to, should I go for 20? Since he rolled low, should I? If he rolled low, you could. Yeah, but we have a zero, right? Yeah. With a D-10, you'd have to roll less. But a D-12. I can, I'll do a D-20.

I'll just keep it simple. What did you get? Five. Okay. Back to Caldwell. You're going to do an evasion roll this time. Okay. Bullet blow's coming at you.

Bills, don't you remember me? We slept in the hay together. We talked about who we would lay. You are. This is an evasion roll? Yeah. Okay, that's a 14. 14.

So you're up to 22. All right, Trap. You're going to do a speed roll now. All right. Come on, trap. Ooh, I rolled an 18. I got a plus one on my speed, so that's 19. Ooh, you are ahead.

Oh, and I get a boost. And I get a plus two to that. Okay. Okay. Caldwell. You're going to go back to a speed roll. Okay. I remember missions where I would jump out of the doom ship and paratroop in and just murder countless toads in the night.

I remember that. I put on my speed suit and I take a leap of faith. Is it 15? 15? Okay. So you're up to 37. All right. Trap.

So it's back to a strength roll for you. You're going to row. And we're just trying to get to 100 first, right? So once you. hit past 33, that's when Murph's going to come in. Got it, okay. Okay, it's like a relay.

Got it, okay. I could do this all day. Oh, shit. What'd you get? That's a two. Just two? Just two, flat two. Okay, Caldwell, back to you.

William. Evasion roll. Billy, Liam, I know you bullets. We must work together. We're all in this to honor Bowser. Evasion is going to be. Oh, shit. God damn it.

What did you get? It's a 19. And that's also going to be a boost. So you're up to 56. All right. Trapped back to. We're doing it again. We're doing it again.

Speed roll. Speed roll. This is a shit. What did you get? That's a total of four. Okay. Wow, weapons. You were really good when you were winning my money.

All right. Caldwell back to you. I'm not very fast. I may not be fast. But when it comes to strength, I'm also bad. But when it comes to intelligence, I don't have that either. Look, weapons, you've recently come into money. Have you thought about investing in barrels?

It's time to do a jump roll. D4. I'm grinding stats. You're like, fuck this, dog. Sorry, guys. Pure. Purely 10. I actually was going to do the same exact joke.

Yeah. Okay. I got a, that's a four total, but I got a two, so that's plus two to my stat. So six? That's a two. Yeah. Wow, so you've really just given this up. I mean, we were down by 60.

Totally's not a team player. All right. We both was just like, I didn't get anything for myself, but at least I tried my hardest for the team. Totally, like, fuck this. All right, Caldwell back to you. So I'm back to Evasion.

Yeah. I'm rooting for Caldwell now, just at a spite. Yeah. What was it? There was no way. We were just to end it so that Murph doesn't grind. The dice are on me. Let me grind.

Oh, I'm so close to boosting my speed to three. Ooh. And you know who makes that possible. Star Spirit? Star Spirit. You should be a cleric in Bowser's Army. Star Spirit. All right.

So that takes us back. So that's 10 coins for Caldwell. Oh, I'm back on the board, baby. Murph, whenever you're ready. All right, round eight. That's roll. That's a one. One?

Okay, so that's three coins for you on space six. All right. Give me a movie. I ain't moving. All right. Trap. Yeah. Just roll that 10.

It doesn't count as a space. That's four spots. So you're going to pass Baby Bowser to spend or give five coins. Yeah. Is that Bowser again? No, it's the spot before Bowser, I think. No, because Bowser, Big Bellows isn't a space. Oh, he's on a space.

Well, boughs it up. Hey, the big man giveth, the big man taketh away. Gosh, to lose. All right. All right. And then how much do you land on real Bowser? And then real Bowser. And we're going to see what you.

Yeah, well, you know what? I've been back to the start before. A lot of people don't know this about Donna Kong, but before I got into barrels, I actually had a unsuccessful shipbuilding business. But the wood wasn't stable enough. So I made barrels of ships. And I'll do it again.

God damn it. There's actually several news articles about all the people that drowned. Oh, no, you hip-house are shit. On the way, though, do you want to buy an item? I am going to buy an item because he's going to take all my stuff. Maybe, you don't know. It's true. You could catch us out.
