Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey everyone, Caldwell here with my friends Jacob, Julia, and Nathan from the DROPY channel. Hello! We have some exciting news. We're making a video game. Whoa. It's called Dronsters, and it's a card-based party game where you draw your own monsters and then battle them to the death. It's so much fun, and we can't wait for y'all to play it. We just launched a Kickstarter to help finish it up, and we've got some sweet collectible rewards, including some special high tiers, where you help us create custom art that goes into the
Starting point is 00:00:30 game. We're also running a contest to decide what the Dronsters mascot would be, and if you support our campaign, you'll get a chance to vote for your favorite. So head to Kickstarter and search Dronsters to back the project now. That's D-R-A-W-N-S-T-E-R-S on Kickstarter. Hell yeah, that was some good spelling, Nathan. Love to spell. Love to spell. And we hope that this has to spell on you, that you will check out this game. Dronsters are Kickstarter. Again, thanks so, so much for listening. And also, we're sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. This is a headgum podcast. Welcome to Surprise round, everybody. What? Surprise. Jesus Christ. Get surprised. Stop doing this. I believe it's been over a year since
Starting point is 00:01:26 we've done one. So we thought we'd surprise you. I was coming out to the shed. I was coming out to the shed to get some supplies and you're just in there. I just jumped out, freaking asking you questions. You're wearing a full gorilla suit. Yeah, I wish. And it's green. Yeah. That would be kind of a great way to make a Grinch costume. It'd be like the Grinch.
Starting point is 00:01:45 The Grinch Evolution, I guess. Yeah. Okay, well, it's been a long time, so I had a long, a lot of time to cook in my brain here. Oh, no. And they came flowing. They honestly came in. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Did this feel therapeutic at all? It did. It honestly, I sat down to write them and I was really scared because it can be pretty hard because they're just, you know, pretty ridiculous. And they flowed. It's just been a long time. And so they flowed. I think the problem with doing a bunch of them,
Starting point is 00:02:13 not necessarily back to back, but doing a bunch of them within like months is you start hitting a lot of the same themes. But I just have, I think, some pretty fresh stuff. Hey, Murph, I'll say doing it consistently. Wouldn't be surprising. That's correct. All right.
Starting point is 00:02:24 Let's get into it. Is everybody ready? Absolutely. Okay. Get in the mindset. You rent a sick house with your friends right on the beach. I do it. I love it already.
Starting point is 00:02:35 Yes. The answer is yes. As if it couldn't get any cooler, Tony Hawk is staying next door. No way. You even catch him practicing on his half pipe during the day. Whoa. Can I use it? One night, no, one night you decide to go for a walk alone on the beach. As you look out into the water.
Starting point is 00:02:56 As you look out into the water, you see Tony Hawk who says, hey, I've got to go back to my home planet, but I want to leave my skateboarding powers to you. All you have to do is drink a mug of salt water. When you ask why, he says the water has my powers in it. I don't ask why, by the way, but go ahead. All right, end of podcast. You guys are sculpting.
Starting point is 00:03:18 Yeah, I really do. Wait, wait, wait. I have a question. Why did you think that we wouldn't drink a mug of salt water? Because he might be lying or it might be a prank show or it might be fucking with you. Also, if it's ocean water, it could have microbes in there or something like that. Okay. It does make people that are like stranded at sea.
Starting point is 00:03:35 It makes them go insane. You're going to throw up. You're absolutely going to. Oh shit. If you throw up, do you lose the powers? Do you have to choke? So the powers, the thing is, okay, I feel like you guys have forgot what the show is. He might be lying to you.
Starting point is 00:03:46 He might be fucking with you. He might be nuts. It's just a man in the water is making you drink salt water. He's in the water currently. Yeah. So the rest of this question is me trying to sell you guys on it. You guys are down to drink salt water if a man tells you to. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:01 All right. Unfortunately, here, I'll give you some context for my irrational compulsion for this. Anyone who's like, I have to go back to my home planet. Yeah. I'm like, I'm like, I'm trying to get more information out of him. So like, I'm holding the mug. I'm taking slow sips and be like, tell me about your planet. Like, does everyone skateboard there?
Starting point is 00:04:20 So all he says is when you ask why, you guys didn't ask why. You guys were just like, yeah, 100% I didn't talk. I said you're Tony Hawk because I was halfway down with the blood. Right. Should I drink his gin? Here's the rest of the question. You guys didn't need to be sold on it, but here's the rest of the question. Okay, great.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Okay. When you express doubt, he says, I can prove it. That's my ship. He points to a far off red dot in the sky, and when he does, the dot turns green. When he lowers his hand, the dot goes back to red. He can demonstrate this to you as many times as you ask for it, but that's all the proof you have that it's, quote, his ship. He doesn't appear to be holding any remote or anything, but he has no proof that he's an alien. Do you drink a mug of salt water?
Starting point is 00:05:02 I've already said yes. Let me explain two things. One, I think it's easy for me to believe that Tony Hawk is an alien just because of how talented he is. Yes. It's not that crazy of a leap. And the ship, going red to green, at that point, I think I'm just susceptible to Tony Hawk pure pressuring me to drink salt water.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Yeah. I actually think that this finger trick makes me a little more suspicious. Really? Because that's like, think about there's apps that you can change the, or maybe there aren't anymore, but there used to be apps that you could change the color of the Empire State Building. There's definitely, it would be very easy to rig this. Yeah. It doesn't look like he has any tech on him.
Starting point is 00:05:39 But again, if this is a TikTok prank or something, yeah. I think it's like how deep into the ocean. He's pretty deep. He's pretty fucking deep. Is he clothed? He's not that close to you. And he keeps yelling, don't get close. Do you know the thing is, I think I believe him more the deeper he is in the ocean?
Starting point is 00:05:54 If he's standing, if he's just standing on the sand, no. But if he's like waist deep. He's standing on a sandbar, waist deep. Waste deep. Looks like he might be nude. I guess the only thing I can do to save face is be like, fine, dude, I don't even believe you. But if Tony Hawk wants me to drink salt water, I guess I'll give it a show.
Starting point is 00:06:13 What I'm kind of coming down to. So that way when the cameras come in, I could kind of be like, I didn't believe him. I just thought to be funny. Yeah. You drank salt water? You're 41 years old. That's a good TikTok prank proof is to just be like, I actually don't buy any of this, but I actually was about to drink some salt water.
Starting point is 00:06:31 I was going to drink the salt water anyway. If anything, you save me the price of my whole food salt water that I pick up. It'd be cool if Jill had to take care of me for 24 hours. While you had sailor madness. Cheve-I knew why. I got brine mouth. Tony Hawk told Dad, he was an alien, okay? How sick would you get from drinking a glass of salt water?
Starting point is 00:06:57 That's a great question. I think not that sick. I think you would throw up is what I'm getting at. Yeah. I think that like it would be hard to choke down that much salt water. Yeah. But I've got a salt gargle before and it's like great for like a sore throat. But I think they do tell you don't swallow.
Starting point is 00:07:12 Yeah. Yeah, that makes sense. I think I do do this. Yeah. And I think part of the reason I do it is because of the trick. When I see the light, I realize I am part of something bigger. Yeah. Whether it is aliens exist, whether like an alien is coming out of the dark forest to greet.
Starting point is 00:07:29 me or I am part of some sort of prank show. And honestly, at that point, it just feels rude. They've gone to so much work. I feel like I'm down to be pranked by Tony Hawk. How agitated does he get if I say I don't want to do it? He doesn't get agitated at all. Okay. Okay. If he got agitated, is there a different substance that he could say that I would be like, actually, no, I'm out, dude. I bet if you was like, eat a live crab, I would. Oh, yeah, I wouldn't. I wouldn't do that. Yeah, if he holds up a horseshoe crab and it's like munch on this. I don't think so. Oh, my God. Even if he was just like touch a jellyfish. I'm out.
Starting point is 00:08:03 I would definitely touch a jellyfish. Yeah. I've gotten stung by jellyfish before. It sucks, but it's like you can power through. I've yet to get stung by one, but my dad made a big deal whenever he did. And it happened a lot. Kind of. He was always looking for Tony Hawk's powers on vacation.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Yeah, he was stomping around. See, dad's getting a little hurt. It's so scary. It's so scary. I remember my dad's sitting on a B one time, like when he was going to be. going to drive and it was so scary. Because it's always like you're trying to suppress the curse coming from out of your mouth like a little too late.
Starting point is 00:08:36 Yeah. God damn it. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So I think we're all doing it. We're all drinking salt water. I'm drinking salt water, but I'm not touching a jelly.
Starting point is 00:08:43 You guys were doing it without even considering that it might not be real. I'm going into it knowing that it's probably not real, but I just kind of trust Tony Hawk. So I'm like, ultimately if this is like the Tony Hawk prank show, I'm cool to be on that. It's the faith. paradox though, where it's just like there's a real chance that God doesn't exist and that heaven isn't real, but there's a small chance that there is. So why not? Why not just go right? Yeah. Can we all hold hands and pray real quick? And if you're going to be on a celebrity prank show, Tony Hawk would be the right one. You do trust him more than like usual pranksters.
Starting point is 00:09:16 It's also just like, why has he not had his own prank show? Tricks on tricks. Like Tony Hawk does a skateboard trick and then you can rank someone. It's foolproof. It's bulletproof. It's a golden premise. We own it. We own it. Copyright, copyright. It's just an excuse for him to do cool trick. I also think hearing this made me realize, like, you know, like, there's, like, a lot of, like, targeting of elderly people to scam them. And it made me realize that when I'm an elderly person, I think that I'm equipped at this
Starting point is 00:09:44 point to fend off the financial scams. Yes. Until they say, I'm an alien from another planet. And you can buy a ride on my shit. When the AI hallucinations get a full copy of Tony Hawk and they're just, like, trying to get me to go on a spaceship. Yeah, it's going to be time. I have a question, is Tony Hawk just too cool?
Starting point is 00:10:02 If I had picked someone else, would you guys have? Is there anyone else that you can think of that you would trust to just drink salt water? Because you guys just, as soon as I said, Tony Hawk asked you to drink salt water. You guys are just like, yes. I think he's too, likeonic. And he's so likable. He's just such a good, decent seeming. What if it was just someone that seemed kind of solid like Matt LeBlanc?
Starting point is 00:10:23 What would it be in? What are your powers? Like, you're a good answer. powers. What are Matt LeBlanc's? You know what's crazy, though? I think Matt LeBlanc, he, I think Matt LeBlanc would work on me more than whoever plays Ross.
Starting point is 00:10:40 David Trimmer would make me pause. You're finishing the seawater and being like, by the way, what are my new powers? Oh. I think at that point, I'm just like, just give me some of your friends money. Yeah. I don't need your powers. But what if you could only get the friends money by drinking up? But what if Matt Leblanc says that?
Starting point is 00:10:55 What if Matt LeBlanc says, hey, I've always. is Matt LeBonk says, hey, I'm going back to my home planet and I need to leave my friend's money to an earthling. You just had to drink the salt water. Okay. I think I don't trust him. This is way harder for me and I probably don't do it. Yeah. Because there's a science to Tony Hawk needing you to drink the water that he's, that he's bathing in.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Yeah. There's something about the legal loopholes. Like I can't imagine going to a bank and being like, you don't understand. I drink salt water. I don't need his social security now. I've got LeBlanc DNA now. All right, yeah. I think I drank his essence.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Reach out to him. You can't. Proof that he is an alien going home to his home place. If he were here, he'd show you this crazy trick he did where he turned to dot blue in the sky. I don't think it was a drone. All right. So we mostly just trust Tony Hawk. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:53 All right. You are offered a role in a new Ninja Turtles movie to play your favorite. turtle. The movie is, making these too easy. Michelangelo. All right. The movie is coming out
Starting point is 00:12:04 on a streaming platform, but they want to keep the reboot a secret so you don't know which one. The director is someone you haven't heard of, but according to their IMDB, they have done
Starting point is 00:12:15 a mix of inoffensive movies. Nothing you've heard of, but they're legit. After showing interest in the role, you have a meeting with the director. During the meeting, he says, we're doing the turtles, but it's not going to be
Starting point is 00:12:27 political anymore. Oh no When you ask him What he means by that? He says the turtles aren't black They aren't white They're green Get over it
Starting point is 00:12:37 If you try to follow up on that I'm out He gets surprisingly intense And says let's just say The turtles aren't politically I'm out I'm out this man has an agenda That I keep
Starting point is 00:12:49 You read the script Who'd you cast as the other turtles And can they get jobs anywhere else? You read the script And it's super normal April O'Neill April O'Neill gets captured The Turtle Save Her
Starting point is 00:13:01 Seems like a pretty boilerplate Turtles movie Right, right, run to the mill You will be paid $200,000 for this role It shoots for one month in April 2027 Do you take the roll It's so specific
Starting point is 00:13:13 I love it Oh okay I mean I can clear my schedule That's really interesting This director's flying off the handle It's something like They are taking to Twitter Yeah
Starting point is 00:13:23 Yeah what's the payment schedule Like with this 200 You're going to get it. The question is, is it going to, what are you a part of? Am I? Because I think I can't do it. I think I also can't do it. Even if I don't read an agenda in a script, I'll just be like, no.
Starting point is 00:13:40 What are you up to? What is your plan for this? Yeah. What are you going to do with ADRs of like AI mimicking my voice in post? What is Crang going to say that's going to offend everyone? Yeah. I'm out. Can I find out who is cast?
Starting point is 00:13:55 like who's attached? That's a good strategy. Yeah. Okay. So I'll say who's attached, Matt LeBlanc. Shit, actually, that does give it some credit. I'll say it's people who are a little older than us. They're like Gen X.
Starting point is 00:14:11 Yeah. Their reputations have not had any kind of hit or anything like that. But it's just maybe people that would maybe be a little tone deaf. Right. Not to say that LeBlanc is tone deaf, but I'm saying it'd be the type of thing where they'd get cast and you'd be like, oh, they're not online enough to know. To know, I haven't been like vocal about anything. You're like, I guess I don't really know what they do.
Starting point is 00:14:33 Counterpoint, it would be a chance to meet Matt LeBlanc. Fair. And you don't be like, how much do we care about that? Which turtle is he playing? I think he's pretty charismatic. He's playing whatever one you don't want to. They said LeBlanc is going to defer to you. LeBlanc playing LeBlock playing Leonardo, though, that's going to be bad.
Starting point is 00:14:50 I don't think he's made for Michelangelo and I want to play Michelangelo. But he maybe wants to play against type. But LeBlancardi said that he would switch. So it's fine. I think I'm going to Raphael. So that works for me. Yeah. And I'm Donnie.
Starting point is 00:15:03 Yeah. I think I'm out. I can't do it. I tried to consider how I could do it because I like the paycheck. But the paycheck's nice. It's the Ninja Turtles. A little, something that's getting buried a little bit here is you don't know what streaming platform it is. Oh, there are a lot of streaming platforms with real bad ones.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Yeah. With agendas. Yeah. Yeah. That could really be it. This is really tough. Yeah. This one's super hard.
Starting point is 00:15:26 I think I can't do it either, but it would be very hard to walk away from it. I was going to say, like, well, you guys with kids, is it harder to say no to a payday? One more question, though. Are we just voicing the turtles? Is it animated or is it live action? Are we, like, in the suits? You know what? I think it's live action, and you can choose whether or not to be in the suits.
Starting point is 00:15:46 So you can choose if you're just doing the voice or doing the suits. So if you would be the honors to do the suits. There's too many decisions. I think I'm doing it. being deferred to the actors. I've been on set. I know that they're not the ones who should be making decisions.
Starting point is 00:16:00 I think maybe the turtles, Jake and I are in the suits and we're on set and we're like, hey, this director isn't working out. We got to get them replaced. I think we like take it right to the streaming platform. No, that's, you're changing the hypothetical call off.
Starting point is 00:16:11 Sorry. I just want it so bad. This director who doesn't say anything, he doesn't outright say anything super offensive. He just keeps saying that the turtles aren't political. Which I like, I guess I agree, but you're using a point. You're actually saying this quite politically.
Starting point is 00:16:31 Yeah. I think you're trying to use them as some kind of political leverage. I think I guarantee I say no. Yeah. But then when that motherfucker comes out, like that motherfucker Ninja Turtles on Dan, liar. Right, but let's say it comes out.
Starting point is 00:16:46 Like, let's say, let's look at the consequences of my action. It comes out and it's like really beloved. And I could have been in there. And then I'm kicking myself. Yeah. It's true. Like maybe I'm in like full turtles makeup making an apology video. And maybe that gets me out of this mess.
Starting point is 00:17:04 Yeah. I think it's just purely, I mean, the cash plus the opportunity to hang out IRL with Matt LaBlon. I feel like LeBlanc has played two huge of a role in this. It's three friends stars. It's LeBlanc Geller. The actual Ross Geller. Not David Turner. And Lisa Coochard.
Starting point is 00:17:23 are playing the other turtles. And then you're just in there as well for some reason. I think I do it and get ready to make an apology. Just have it ready to go. Yeah, record him in advance, honestly. I think I have to not do it. I think I can't. I think the paranoia of being like,
Starting point is 00:17:41 what are you going to put in this movie? That's what I'm saying is like kind of like the CGI AI aspect. I'm like, oh, you could just mess around with this in post. Yeah. You can make my lips do whatever you want. Yeah. Yeah, I think I'm out as well, unfortunately. All right.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Jake, you've been canceled. No. Really? But what a way to go out? Jake, there was a really bad press junket. The director was going off. And the movie was fine, actually. You said something in the press junket.
Starting point is 00:18:11 People say it's the third best turtles movie. All right. You and a friend are walking down the street when you are approached by Eminem and a film crew. Eminem says, hey, we're doing this thing where I freestyle. with people on the street. You don't have to do anything. I'm just gonna rap at you. Is that cool?
Starting point is 00:18:28 Oh. You agree. Oh, he's gonna be so mean, though. Eminem starts rapping, then fucks up and says, cut, sorry, I got really nervous, and I farted, and I think they picked it up on Mike. Do you mind if I try again? You say, okay, and then do another take.
Starting point is 00:18:44 This time Eminem really roasts you, but it's good nature. Afterwards, he says, hey, sorry about that. You're really cool. Here's a little something for your troubles. and he hands you a check for 10 grand. Wow. Later that day, you see the clip has gone viral. M's team is pretty chill about it in the caption,
Starting point is 00:19:01 but the comments are savage. Everyone talks about how Eminem cooked you and how stupid and ugly you are. They've linked your personal account and are going in on you and your lifestyle. Oh, what in Dax? You go to cash the check. Wait, what about my lifestyle?
Starting point is 00:19:15 You go to cash the check and it bounces. No. You try to call the production offices, but the number is offline. Shady. Your friend informs you that they had filmed the entire interaction on their phone, and they have the raw footage of Eminem fucking up and farting. Do you post the video and start beef with MNM?
Starting point is 00:19:34 Fuck, yes, I do. Whoa! Oh, wow. Yes. No way. No way. I think I just hide from the... You saw what happened to Drake and Kendrick, right?
Starting point is 00:19:43 I don't try to rap beef with him because I have no business. I just post it, and I come from the place that I can come from, which is... I'd talk about it on my podcast. Which is I write sad ukulele music about it. It's true. It would be so hard. If we're like pulling directing from our real life, it would be so hard not to talk about this on the show. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:07 There's no way that it come out as okay. Like if I started beef with him and him, like he's got the resources. He could also pull a pivot and be like, I have a disease that makes me fart all the time. And like I've never talked about it. And it's like been a real struggle in my career. Oh, fuck. You're fucked then. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:20 You're fucked then. I don't think he's going to do that. Okay. He might. The fans are already tearing me apart on that. I know, right? I don't think I can win them back even with the real footage. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:31 It's true. I do think that the real footage is going to be pretty humiliating, but I think that's just going to make them mad and lock in. Okay. Yeah, and I think his army is still going to come from me. Can I ask a question? Sure. Is there any chance what I do in my free time is write a deeply sad mythological songs?
Starting point is 00:20:50 Yeah. Is there any chance that I could go totally. a toe with him in musical beef, but from a place of deeply sad guitar mythological songs. That's the type of music beef that I want. You can just drop the video. Like, you don't even need to, yeah. I drop the video and then if it becomes, he keeps going in on me, then I'm like, I will meet you where you are, but with my skill set, which is sad mythological songs. And you use the bad press to get good press on your new album that's coming out. Which is all just roasting him. Exactly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:23 Like laments about the fart and how it smelled and like sort of like from like an epic Greek poetry perspective. Yeah. I think is there any chance I could win the audience over or would everyone just be like get this bitch out of my face? See that's that's where I'm at. I think they I think there's no way that I win the audience over. All that I could do is make Eminem mad at me. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe this is how I finally just get off social media altogether as I drop this video and then I'm just out. I just delete everything. That's interesting. That's kind of beautiful. Just walk away. Yeah. Maybe I see like on the Today show in a hotel room that like Eminem is just like crushed by it.
Starting point is 00:21:59 Like one. Yeah. I think that is a really beautiful image though. You like pressing publish and then like your phone like turning to dust in your hand and you look up and your beautiful family is haloed in sunlight looking on approvingly. And then I look and then I go to my house and it seems that Eminem's fans have found my address. Okay. I hate that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:22 I feel like this might just become, for me, this might just become the ultimate, like, dinner party anecdote. Yeah. Like, I think I just hold on to the video and I'm like, did you see that M&M shit that happened? This is the real story. I think I keep it low key,
Starting point is 00:22:37 but I don't want any of that. I don't want the online smoke. This becomes like your celebrity story. Yes. This becomes, like, actually, he farted. And he just, like, tripped over his words. It was insane. He did a bad,
Starting point is 00:22:51 Yeah, that's a really healthy way to take it. But now I'm just intellectually curious if beef between two different musical genres could work. So I go for it. I think that's very interesting. Has never been done before. Do you have a concept? I bet like...
Starting point is 00:23:06 Oh, yeah, no, he had the beef with Moby. Right? Really? It was eminent. He had beef with Moby. Mariah Carey. Yeah. He's beef prone for sure.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Okay. Tom Green. I think I still want to throw my hat in the ring. All right, so M's going toe to tell. I'm going for it. I'm deleting socials, and it's just an anecdote for me. Yeah, it's a cute little gem for you. I keep the video and I show people.
Starting point is 00:23:30 Anytime, if someone makes fun of me in real life, I'm like, hey, it wasn't that bad, actually. From my perspective. Thinking about all the people he's had beef with does kind of make me want to do it. Because then I'm like, okay, it's me and Christina Aguilera and all of the people Eminem has like wrapped at. I'm in good company. You might come out of this ahead. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:50 Or at the very least, you know, I could be friends with Aguilera or something. Yeah. LeBlanc's probably going to want to hang. Oh, enemy of my enemy. Yeah. That's interesting. My guess is I try to drop one naval gazing guitar song and it lands really poorly. And I, and I work in this for myself entirely.
Starting point is 00:24:07 Do you ever thought on what the title of that song is? What's it, what it's about? Shy, my name is. And that's good. Maybe I would just call it Mother Spaghetti. Oh, that's really dark. That's wanting. Oh, you're going, someone already did that.
Starting point is 00:24:23 Wasn't Everlast that had is the guy that, what was that song that's like? I'm sure there's a folk cover. Yeah, he does a song and he brought like Eminem's mom on it. Eminem's mom did a disc track to Eminem. Yeah. Wait, really? Everlast, I think, yeah. I mean, it didn't work.
Starting point is 00:24:41 Just made it look like a very bad mom. Right. So I guess that's actually the cautionary tale. You might just end up looking like Eminem's mom. Yeah. Maybe I just, I think I'd, DM him the video. I DM him the video and I'm like, good thing. I'm a nice guy because I'm not going to release it. Okay. Then actually I know the title of my song now because I'm still trying.
Starting point is 00:25:00 It's your mom but better. Whoa. And then I'm like singing about how your mom tried to take you down and she couldn't, but I'm better than your mom. So I can. All right. So you guys are, you guys are all going in. I think I'm out. There's going to be a comment on this episode that's like I don't like surprise around and it's going to ruin my week. So the idea of having very public beef with a celebrity would ruin my life. I think part of my reasoning is like, I'm there. If I were to open socials, it would already be negative. There you go.
Starting point is 00:25:34 Yeah, and I'm using this as a chance to just put my phone in a hydraulic press. I actually really like all the solution of just being like, drop it and then I'm gone, dude. I like it. And then I can like listen to his music guilt-free. He's like, wow, a new Shillam Shady record. That's incredible. All right. Ready for another one?
Starting point is 00:25:54 Please. Yeah. Okay. We've had a few like this of driving alone on a dark road, so let's do another one. But we found, we found today that details really make the difference because Tony Hawk versus Matt LeBlanc. It was a huge difference. You guys were just, if Tony Hawk, if I bought a cameo from Tony Hawk and said, tell my friends to drink salt water, they would just fucking do it. Shit.
Starting point is 00:26:16 I mean, probably. He would need to also tell me he was going back to his home. planet. All right. All right. So you guys are driving along on a dark road in the woods without a single other car in sight. Suddenly you see a blur and your car rocks as if you've just hit something. You get out to check the damage, but there is none. When you look up, you see an angel hovering. Wait, are we talking biblical, freaky looking angel? Or are we talking like... Merely kind of Hollywood angel. Like nude ripped angel. Sort of like flowing roads. Yes. Just like the Muppets Christmas Carol.
Starting point is 00:26:47 Yeah, Muppets Christmas Carol Angel. Not like a ton of eyes, Angel. Not a ton of eyes, angel. The angel says, I had to get your attention somehow. You're going to get an opportunity in the next 24 hours. The big guy upstairs says to take it. The angel then flies away and disappears. No one else is around to see this.
Starting point is 00:27:06 Nothing happens over the next day except exactly 23 hours and 59 minutes after the incident. You receive a DM from someone offering to sell you an NFT of the Grinch smoking weed for $900. Do you buy it? This is a great pivot because I was like pretty sure this was going to be a sonic one when you said like a blur comes in front of the car. No, no. Yeah, you hit sonic. I think that as someone who studied religion, again, aliens, gods, I want to believe.
Starting point is 00:27:38 I think I delusionally do it. Yeah. I want to believe. I want it to be true. Do I have to proselytize this NFT? Do I need to like show it off? No, you're just like, I just get it. Do you just buy it for nine hundred?
Starting point is 00:27:51 And literally you don't know, like this could be someone trying to hack you. You have no idea. All you know is that you saw an angel. Right. Or you think you saw an angel. There's no proof of it. You go out to your car. So like this happened, right?
Starting point is 00:28:03 You saw an angel. But did you like fall asleep at the wheel and then wake up? Like what happened? So I think for me, I don't know. I'm thinking I'm obsessing over this. I think the fact that it's 23 hours and exactly 59 minutes to me. I'm like, why did this happen right now? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:20 You're right about the hack. thing. At first I was like, okay, obviously that's like a waste of money and that sucks, but the magical thinking would overpower that. But the hacking thing. I guess I'm like, did I black out and just imagine that? Yeah, but it's true. Like maybe you get this NFT and then Reese Witherspoon is just like, hey, that's the last one I need for my collection. Yeah. I don't want to turn that down. So I mean, that's the- A Southern Starlet reaching out about your French NFT? I can't let LeBlanc get it, she says. The angel seems to imply that whatever opportunity you were supposed to have and you didn't see any other opportunities throughout the day and this seemed to be the one.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Okay, here's a hurdle for me. Here's where my mental gymnastics have to kick in. In this moment when I have like basically one minute to decide, I'm saying if God exists, God thinks that NFTs are a good investor. Do I want those angels on my side? You're only going to get raptured if you have this Gritian. Oh, and you've got to hodel it is the thing. This is like the mark of this is the mark of the lamb being put upon you. This is God's covenant.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Yeah. Because anyone could appear. Because then maybe my head starts to go like anyone could appear as an angel, right? That's your ticket to heaven. That's your ticket to heaven. This could be your ticket to heaven. Or is it a guaranteed ticket to I'm not going to say it because I don't. Curse.
Starting point is 00:29:48 Oh, H.E. Double Hockey season. Were you going to say heck? You weren't going to say, heck, were you? I never would. Damn. Damn. Eminem's mom might be listening.
Starting point is 00:29:58 They call me family-friendly Oxford. Wait, the angel says... There's going to be an opportunity. Take it. Is there a chance that the Morning Star himself has put this angel up to this? This is a... You're talking about Lucifer. I'm talking about Lucifer.
Starting point is 00:30:11 That's what I'm saying is that like, oh, okay, suddenly, they can cloak themselves. Yeah, I think they have that power. Yeah. I haven't read up on the wiki of what the angel's powers are, but I think that's one of them. Though I do love the fallen rebel of Lucifer. So then that gets really complicated for me. They do seem like Satan territory. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:31 But I'm wondering if God wants you to have this NFT, because Reese Ruthuspoon is going to make a big offer, a juicy one. The way the angel says it is kind of cheeky. Yeah, okay. Because what I'm thinking, I'm thinking is that once you make this offer, Once you get that Witherspoon cash, then I think God has like a big promise for you. He's like, you got to use that. You got to build some lumber.
Starting point is 00:30:51 You got to make another arc or something like that. Right. Yeah, like who knows what having this, what door having this NFT opens? Because I actually have a lot of NFTs. I would open many doors. Really? What doors have they opened? Just at networking events, I shared a water with Gary V.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Jake's at the Las Vegas orb every week. Shared a water? Yeah. Well, he threw out of Desani. Yeah. Yeah. trying to get some V-ora. I think I do this, but I feel horrible about it.
Starting point is 00:31:25 I feel stressed about it. The Merf's point about it being a hacking thing gives me pause. That's why I think if the payment portal looks secure, like if I can double click and on my phone, I think I do it. I think I'm the same. I think literally if it looks like a reputable, like coin-based type place or something, I'm like, angels are real,
Starting point is 00:31:46 I guess. If it fucking told me to do something. And I guess worst case scenario, I have a Grinch NFT. That's pretty funny
Starting point is 00:31:52 for now. That's true. It might be funny to just be like, everybody I have this weird greengerger. Some internet sleuth is going to be like, I found MIRP's
Starting point is 00:32:01 metal world. Jesus. Owns an NFT. How, grinch with a fat blonde? If you were feeling, if you weren't loving the price of this,
Starting point is 00:32:12 who would you reach out to try and borrow money from. Would you reach out to your parents? Would you reach out to your parents? Oh, that's right. We would reach out to each other. I would reach out to you guys. Because only each other would appreciate the grid.
Starting point is 00:32:26 No one, I wouldn't give money to anyone who was going to buy an NFT. And I wouldn't believe them if they said this on Angel. I have a really religious, actually a bunch of really religious extended family members that I don't talk to. And they would give you cash for your NFT. I would maybe try to reach out. I would try to milk that. I will say, Murf, if you came to us and said, hey, I saw an angel and it wants me to buy this NFT, I would do some soul searching, but I would let you use the NADPod credit card. I guess it is kind of a business expense considering how we're having a Bench Grinch.
Starting point is 00:32:59 I'm looking up Grinch NFTs now. It looks like there are some. Do you think that maybe God just likes our podcast is the thing? God's just a huge surprise around. This does kind of, this ultimately does just kind of ruin your life. Like Emily said, you're like God likes it. You just had to sit around just being like, there's no point to pay off. Hey, you don't have to go to church.
Starting point is 00:33:20 All right. God is kind of like an NFT. I don't think the church is before. I think we're just flucked. Kind of sick though to like bypass all the stuff and be like, I don't have to go to church. I don't have to like, you know, I don't have to do any mission. I don't have to go on a mission trip. I just have to buy this NFT and I'm set.
Starting point is 00:33:39 NFTs are the new indulgences. Yeah. That is true. That you can pay. So I think I'm like 95% sure that I just passed out and almost died on the road. But the 5% that I'm like, angels and magic are real. And for some reason it told me to buy this NFT. Worst case scenario, I have a funny grinch story.
Starting point is 00:33:58 I think all of this is just showing that we're going to get a new round of scammers who prey upon our fantastical nature. Yes. Instead of being like, you know, instead of like, oh, you're going to be buying into a, like a co-op or something. We're not interested in that. Oh, actually, Lord of the Rinks is real. Yeah. Instead of like response to this E-vite or docu-sign this thing,
Starting point is 00:34:23 it's like, you're a wizard now. Yeah. I didn't even consider drone shows have gotten so advanced. This could have been a show. This could have been a show that's leading you down this DM pathway. I think it's just like if it's a secure portal, if I'm just out, if I'm just out the 900 to find out, for sure if angels are real or not.
Starting point is 00:34:45 There's something about it being sub a thousand that makes me do it. I was going to say the same thing. It's so expensive though. It's so expensive. But I mean, it's the price where you don't do it. A thousand. Yeah, I think so too.
Starting point is 00:34:59 If it's four digits, I won't. I kind of agree. It's way too expensive. It's the ultimate hedge. It's like literally I'm hedging to go to heaven. Yeah. I think beyond the NFT, the question becomes like,
Starting point is 00:35:10 would you pay $900 to confirm the I think I would. Definitely. We're all saying I would pay 900 but not a thousand. So we're talking about the fantasticalness of just like making it easy to scam you. Which I think it's a sin would I just said. So the fantasticalness making it easy to scam you, let me take that and ask you another question. All right. So this actually has, this is not written.
Starting point is 00:35:32 This is just based on what you guys said. So kind of going with this, how easy would it be for us to be scammed if just something fantastical happened right before the scam? If someone came to your house and it was looked just like Frodo. Okay, so it's Elijah Wood in like a Frodo costume. And he's young like he was when he was in Fellowship of the Room. So do you. He knocks down the door and he says, hey, it's me, Frodo Baggins.
Starting point is 00:35:57 I want to sell you some knives. And he pulls out a box of cut cone knives. He takes his hand out and he takes the one ring. He puts it on. He disappears. Whoa. He comes back after he takes the ring off. pockets the ring, and then he just comes in your house and talks to you about all the knives you can buy.
Starting point is 00:36:16 I just feel like you'll buy the knives. Well, here's the thing. The knives cost $350. Jesus Christ. For a set? To be honest. For like a pretty shoddy set. To be very honest, you and I, Murf, we are working with, I think that our current knives are from our wedding.
Starting point is 00:36:33 They're pretty bad. They're from our wedding. We got them as a wedding present. So you'd buy knives from anybody. So we actually are in the market. For knives because I've also never sharpened them once because I don't know how to do that. But I think actually that question, it looking like Elijah Wood, I am more skeptical than if it was just a hobbit-looking guy who said I'm... A random guy in a hobbit costume could come up to you.
Starting point is 00:36:58 I'm Bill Bow Bagan's and does the ring thing. Because if it looks like Elijah Wood, I'm like, you're part of Hollywood. This is movie magic. If it's a random guy, I'm like, you're the real Frodo. If it's a random guy, it is true that I'm like, all right, clearly somebody finally figured out how to use demographic data correctly. And I know that I like Lord of the Rings. It's just, yeah. It's just algorithms, but in real life, work.
Starting point is 00:37:24 If you are just like, come up to me on the street and you say your photo and disappear, I will just buy knives off of you. By the, we're heading there. This will be how they sell knives. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. And it'll work for a year. And then after I waste money, after I'm like, I already bought DVDs off you, Frodo. After the first time, I ain't buy it anymore.
Starting point is 00:37:46 After the first time I chop chives and the knife immediately breaks. Silver shavings everywhere. On a chive baggents. If one of the knives looked like sting the goblin cleaver, I would maybe go in for that. That's the thing is that they're kind of just plain old knives. They're just plain old knives. They don't even have any elvish on them? Have you guys ever been to a steakhouse where they bring out different knives?
Starting point is 00:38:10 that you choose your knife. No. Oh, no. It's so awesome. And if one of them, like, looked like it was like, and this. Because, like, usually they, like, tell you, or at least when we've done it, they, like, tell you, like, the type of wood, the type of craftsmanship. If one of them, they're like, and this was a weapon, one of the orcs used in Lord of
Starting point is 00:38:30 the Rings. And it just looks like a regular ass knife. Art Zabel would have been diving for that. Again, people could be targeting me much more. Bring the Sky Mall to me is what I'm saying. All right. So we're all in on this. We're all buying an NFT.
Starting point is 00:38:45 Oh, the NFT. We're all buying the NFT. And then we're also buying knives from photo. No, I think I don't open the door. You don't open the door? That is very good. That's smart. That's smart.
Starting point is 00:38:57 And you don't open the door? Jake has the right of it. I think I might be more with Emily. Like, if it was a strange-looking hobbit. That's strange. What do you mean? If it was a hobbit, I'd never. seen before.
Starting point is 00:39:11 Just a barefoot dude comes to your house and you let him in, but you don't let in Elijah Wro? Because Merv, that could be the real Frodo. Even Elijah Wood will admit he's not the real Frodo. This could be book Frodo. Elijah would, I think it's somebody pretending to be. Wow. Elijah wouldn't.
Starting point is 00:39:29 He wouldn't. Elijah won't. I can't believe you wouldn't even open. You wouldn't even open the door. Jake. Elijah Wood is out of your house in full Lord of the room makeup and you're like Nah Jake is right I think I just like
Starting point is 00:39:45 What are you mean he's right Thanks I'm out thanks I'm out He's right he's my better instinct that I'm Unable but you don't have to There's a middle ground you don't have to buy the knives From him after he does his trick you can just be like All right Elijah I think I'm like I don't want to be on camera I'm so to say you're positive
Starting point is 00:40:02 We're also scared of TikTok friends yeah yeah okay That's all right but you buy the NFT The Angel Jets team Yeah, because those I want anyway. It is interesting how many of these questions return to the very current anxieties of being in a TikTok prank or getting scammed. It's like a really interesting portrait of what's going on right now. Combined with our fear of the unknown. Right. The game is basically, what are the conditions that you will be okay being scammed?

Starting point is 00:41:39 Okay, that's it for me. Thanks for listening. I've cut myself terribly on this very sharp sore that I'm holding, and I'm about to pass out. Bye-bye. All right, you invite a new friend over to your house. This friend surprises you by bringing over their super well-behaved cat. Oh.
Starting point is 00:41:55 During the visit, the cat stands outside your bathroom door, and your friend says, hey, check this out. He's trained to use the toilet. The cat proceeds to straddle your toilet and takes an enormous, human-sized shit that clogs your toilet. Your friend gets embarrassed, takes the cat, and leaves. You plunge the toilet, but it stays clogged. You have to call a plumber, and the cat has ruined some of your pipes.
Starting point is 00:42:20 The whole thing is going to cost you a thousand dollars to get fixed. When you call your friend to reimburse you, she bursts into tears and says, sometimes I forget that not everyone has a wide-mouthed toilet. I'm really really sorry. But if I pay for it, my husband is going to find out and make me give away the cat because I keep doing this. Do you make her pay for the plumber? Absolutely no. I was going to say.
Starting point is 00:42:49 I think I also stop being friends of her. I'm like, keep the cat and stop doing this. Yeah. I wouldn't have her over again. I wouldn't have her over again. I would be like, we can meet for coffee. Okay. You can clog the Starbucks toilet.
Starting point is 00:43:05 We're all so willing to get scammed. Well, yet another, yet another avenue to scam me would be cats. This is, this is a ripe territory for scamming me because if someone says like, oh, I thought everyone had a wide mouth toilet. I'm like, I guess I'm behind the curve. But also, I'm off the trend. But also cats themselves are little scammers. And I have so many strays that have been scamming me for like eight years. What about Jake?
Starting point is 00:43:28 Jake, do you insist that she pays for the Palmer? At that point, I'm kind of wondering if I should have a wide mouth toilet. The wide mouth toilet really threw you guys off. Is that a piece? It sounds like a toilet upgrade. It seems great. I don't know. Did you make that up?
Starting point is 00:43:42 I don't think they call it wide mouth. Definitely got to. There's one that. Have you ever gone in a toilet and like the mouth is huge? Like the hole is huge and it sucks it in so hard. Yeah. The circumference is just ready for it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:54 I mean, yeah. On the flip side of that, I've definitely had some dumps from like, this is going to be iffy. Oh yeah. I don't know if it's making it home. Or when you hear like the weak flush and you already have the toilet lid clothes and you're like, I got to double check that that all went down.
Starting point is 00:44:09 Exactly. And if I had a wide mouth. So like maybe this is a blessing. It's just a blessing. Do we just replace our toilet? This cat helps us give them a break. The thing that gives me pause is first is when she says I keep doing this. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:20 Some part of me was like, yeah, she does keep tracking toilets. Yeah. Like I have to do something to help the people that are next. Do you think when you go to the cat adoption place and they have the little like plaques up that say like this cat doesn't play well
Starting point is 00:44:33 with others. Like, this cat will scratch sometimes. This cat takes messy human turrets. Hi, I'm cutie pie. I will clog your toilet. But I love a Sunday morning snuggles. I piss in your breakfast. So I think all of us are just going to use this opportunity to upgrade our toilets. And we just don't let this woman come to our house again. As soon as somebody says, like, please don't tell, my husband will take the cat away. I have a question. I'm not getting. involved. She said, do not tell my husband, do you warn other people about this because it could inadvertently get back to her husband? If we share friends, the thing about this too, I wrote this specifically, because I'm like, on the one hand, this husband sounds super controlling. On the other hand,
Starting point is 00:45:19 the fact that she says she keeps doing this, that's what I'm saying. I'm like, what is happening here at home? But I'm also like he's going to make her give it away. That's so vague and I just don't want to. Actually, this is why I think what I do is I install the wide mouth toilet and I have her over exclusively because I'm like, no more messing with anybody's toilets. The cat can shit here. We solve her. Wow. Okay, so Jake, you lean in. You become better friends of this woman. I become the cat lavatory. Yeah. That's interesting. And then you can find out what's up with her and her husband's that she's always getting toilets clogged and he's pressing her to get her to cover any cat. Maybe the husband is giving the cat like extra food that's like making it
Starting point is 00:46:01 do these massive shits. Oh, and he's like sort of undermining this whole thing. He's doing like table scraps that are causing this cat that just like have just big old turd. Yeah, he wants to get rid of this cat. So we're all upgrading our toilets.
Starting point is 00:46:10 Oh, yeah. I actually think I'm not upgrading my toilet because when she says wide mouth toilet, I'm like, I don't think that's a thing. And I probably don't even look in to see if it's a thing. I'm going to Google wide mouth toilet because it's a thing in my head. That's what I'm doing.
Starting point is 00:46:22 Widemouth toilet. Yeah. No, they said a wide mouth toilet typically refers to a toilet with an extra large or wide trap way. Trappway. Stop, dude. You can't talk like that.
Starting point is 00:46:35 Just call it a hole. It's called a fucking trapway. You can say that now if you're at someone's house. You can be like, I got a couple skids on your trapway. Would you guys, I have my own, this isn't really a surprise round. It's just more of like a would you. If there were, like how they have mattress stores that you can go and try them out, but for toilets, would that be a perk that you were like, I would like to know how that would feel? Or are you like the concept of that is so disgusting that I'm not touching that.
Starting point is 00:47:03 The concept of that is so disgusting. I'm not talking. But I'm saying like you aren't, it's just you can sit on it. Oh, okay. The implication is not that you can try it out. It's more that you sit at it. But I think you can go sit on. You can go do that at a Home Depot.
Starting point is 00:47:15 Well, at Home Depot, they have them up on a shelf angled. So I think you're not supposed to sit on them. I remember there was in the first Jackass movie, they were taking shits in the toilet. Yeah, I think that's why they changed it. I think they changed it after. I'd be interested to know how much. of our society has changed because of the jackass movie. Yeah. They were the original TikTok
Starting point is 00:47:33 prank. That's true. I think I would test out a toilet. Yeah, not necessarily having to shit in it. Yeah. It's just... The sea height, it matters. It matters a lot. The store is not about trying it out. The store is just like, how does it feel on that seat? I think I would... I think it'd be great. How's the ass feel? If you went there
Starting point is 00:47:49 and they just had a bunch of ground beef and they flush in from... Ground beef and chocolate sauce. Don't worry. This is very hygienic. We don't let anyone shit in the toilets, but we only demonstrate with brass-fed beef. And yet so effective.
Starting point is 00:48:05 Would you like to spoon at your sauce? It's wide mouth. Do you see the trapway on this? You'll see that the water is so fast that the trapway gets nothing. None of the beef. Yeah, that'd be
Starting point is 00:48:19 great. All right. All right, you guys ready for another one? Yeah, please. All right. You're at Disney World and Goofy is walking around the park. For some reason, Goofy is really going out of his way to pick on you. He ignores a line of
Starting point is 00:48:33 children, walks over to you and says, Gorsh, it's so nice to meet another goof. He goes on to... Okay, that's good nature. He goes on to make several physical comparisons about how you are a goof to the delight of a growing crowd. At the end of the
Starting point is 00:48:49 interaction, he leans in and says your flight home is going to have an incident goofy style. He says this. in a non-goofy, threatening voice and pinches you hard. No one else hears it and no one sees the pinch. My flight's canceled. He's ushered by a handler without further incident.
Starting point is 00:49:14 Do you change your flight? Yes. I drive. I don't eat any flight home is going to have an incident. Yeah. Do you report goofy? No. I think it's too vague.
Starting point is 00:49:24 I think, I mean, like, Disneyland, they thrive on order. they thrive on like maintaining a piece and a sense of calm. I think I do report Goofy here. Whoa. I hate to be a narc. It's like, I would never see it. Oh, wow. I know.
Starting point is 00:49:41 I think I straight up. I'm like, thanks for the heads up. I cancel my flight. And I even reach out to the like air carrier to be like, hey, I've received information. And they say, ma'am, what happened? What's the information? Goofy pinched me. Goofy pinched you and said.
Starting point is 00:49:58 there's going to be an incident. Look, I'm trying to help you is what I say. How many goofy style incidents have you had this year alone, Boeing? I remember the doors falling off? That was goofy. I think the fact that he says incident and goofy style makes it really hard to, really hard to report. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:19 But I guess like, because when they say what was the thread and you said, Goofy said, it was going to be. Goofy had a premonition. I really worry. I think the big thing, my big worry is that I'm playing. into his hands. So if I change my flight, then maybe he's done something to the flight that I've changed. I agree.
Starting point is 00:50:34 Or if I decide to drive, then maybe he's waiting for me at the hotel. Exactly. On the road. I do think I spiral like completely frozen, not knowing what to do. Yeah. I think so, too. Because I'm a nervous flyer. And I don't know when I get on a plane again after this.
Starting point is 00:50:49 I think I wander around the park so scared and so nervous. And then I think eventually I'm just like, I have to tell Mickey. Like, Mickey will make this back. Mickey will sort this out. Could I just wait at the park for him to leave? Like, could I try to have another run in with him? Try and follow him home and be like, who are you really? Who's under that costume?
Starting point is 00:51:07 I think I would try to confront me. Like, what kind of incident? What do you mean? Except away from goofy, sir. Is it like a rapid flight attendant? Because that's fine. Is that a goofy style incident? It's the fact that he pinches you that makes it really scary.
Starting point is 00:51:24 Let's think about what a goofy style incident would mean for Goofy himself. Goofy would crash the plane. Yeah. Goofy would go, whatever his thing is. He would go into a tail dive, tailspin, which is another Disney show. Another great show. And he would, Goofy would have to, like, punch his feet through the bottom of the plane
Starting point is 00:51:41 and landed himself. Yeah. You wouldn't die, but, man, you'd have a scare if Goofy was your pilot. It would be a big scare. Like, you would find out that, like, a chicken was flying the airplane. Has Goofy ever landed a flight? Well, there is Goofy's flight school at Disneyland. Oh, there you know.
Starting point is 00:51:55 It lands every time. It lands every time, but there's some twist and turns for sure. Wow. No, Goofy has never successfully landed a flight in classic fashion. The attempts always end in chaotic crashes or comedic disasters. Whoa, so Goofy style is way more. Goofy style is actually pretty fucking bad. That's, yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:13 It's really bad, but at the same time, I think that Goofy is going to survive, but fuck, am I going to survive is the thing. I don't think Goofy has the power to kill. Yeah. Oh, I mean, that is true, but I, but do you? think that he has like the gift of foresight? I think that he is making his own future here. I think that he is like, this is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Starting point is 00:52:34 Okay. Wow. I mean, I don't know the property or the character well enough. I just never get on a plane again for the rest of my life. So it makes a lot of sense, actually. Maybe I've been selected for a super secret ride that they're testing out. Yeah. This is like, because they have the Disney cruises.
Starting point is 00:52:50 So maybe they're trying out Disney Airlines now. Oh my God. I'm surprised they don't have that already. It's really insane that they don't. Like we've just, we've spoken something into the ether that will exist. Copyright, copyright. Copyright. If you say copyright, you're allowed to just do whatever you want.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Yeah, yeah. We're going to start at Disney. Yeah. We need to start mailing our episodes to ourselves. Yeah. So that we can copyright all of our gold ideas. I'm holding up a newspaper to the, to the microphone. So, so everyone changes their flight, right?
Starting point is 00:53:20 I, we all are not getting complained. Yeah. Yeah. I'm never getting on another. playing again. Never again. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Borderline drive. I think maybe Goofy was just having an off day. Yeah. I'm wondering if Goofy just really hated me for something. He might have just hated me. Maybe he hates what I've got. That's the question like us are you like are you like are you just like a real like do you really hate surprise rounds? Do you hate that? Yeah. Yeah. And it's true. It could just be a personal grudge that
Starting point is 00:53:47 Yeah. Yeah. And there's not a and he just wants to fuck with you. Yeah. I'm still changing my flight. Yeah. I think I don't change it that much though. I think I do like. I have one that's like two hours later. Maybe Goofy's like, you guys should play D&D a little more straight and not have as many jokes. I think I do talk to someone at the park. I'm like, hey, Goofy's. But that makes sense, though, that that's your take because you're like, I'm a parent. I need to like look out for the children at this park.
Starting point is 00:54:11 And also, Goofy of all people should be safe. Goofy is a father and he needs to be better than this. Yeah. So I think I probably make. You make a stamp? I make a steak. Yeah. Honestly, probably the right answer.
Starting point is 00:54:22 It probably is. I still have like a real like no tattle thing going on and like I shouldn't have that anymore. I'm 40. Yeah. Yeah. I do have the worst flight of my life though. Yeah. I take the flight and I'm just like looking out the window constantly.
Starting point is 00:54:35 I guess I, I guess if Goofy pinched me, I would be pretty mad. I guess I might tell someone. I might tell Goofy's handler right there. You have. I mean, hey, get a handle on your guy. I think if he pinched me, I would scream. Ow, ow, ow, ow. Yeah, we're focusing too much on the flight.
Starting point is 00:54:50 We're not focusing enough on the pinch. The pinch. Yeah. Goofy pinches you. You're like, what the fuck? Wow. Hey, man. But I guess he's kind of gaslighting you, right?
Starting point is 00:54:58 Because then you've, now I've just cursed in front of a bunch of people. Is it too late to make a sequel to the slap called The Pinch? Yeah. And it's a character at Disney. I'm sure they sign off. I guess if Goofy successfully gaslights me, I guess I do like, I get pinched. I yowl. I yowl and I curse in front of children.
Starting point is 00:55:18 And then when other people get upset at me, I think I think that maybe, Goofy was just joking around. And then I don't sleep that night and then I change my flight. I'm just picturing a situation where the airplane is doing loop to loops. Everyone's screaming and I'm pulling out my phone and just screaming and do whoever will listen. Goofy is behind this. Goofy is behind this. Look into Goofy.
Starting point is 00:55:41 All right. Let's go ahead and do one more. You are at a red light at night. There are no other cars around until one pulls up behind you and begins honking furiously. Oh my God. We'll turn back and. see that the driver is wearing a full Jim Carrey-esque Grinch costume.
Starting point is 00:55:57 Oh my God. Or hell, it's so realistic it could be the Grinch himself. The Grinch is honking and yelling out the window that, quote, it's almost Christmas season and I'm feeling pretty fucking aggressive. Run the red. You look in both directions
Starting point is 00:56:12 and there's no one coming. But you're 50% sure you see a camera above the light. The Grinch begins revving his engine. Oh my God. Do you run? the red or wait for it to turn green, you think it's going to take about a full minute for it to turn green. Is there any option where I could just pull to the side and let him pass me? If you do that, you will be like crossing the red light. You have to, you have to go through
Starting point is 00:56:39 the red light. Okay. I think I, I think I'm trying to be kind of tough. I think I'm like rolling on the window. I'm like, all right, buddy, but I'm still like kind of listening to him. I just like run the red, but pull over. And I'm hoping I can. just explain if I get like a ticket in the mail I can be like watch the footage the Grinch was threatened me yeah I do something so similar I like I'm like a half stand up for myself like I'm gonna pull I'm gonna put the hazards on wave my hand and be like oh you're in such a rush okay and I'm like going a little slow you guys are failing to recognize like the terror of the situation which is what if the Grinch gets out of his car yeah oh my god if he gets out of his car that's great
Starting point is 00:57:22 because then I can make the getaway. That's the thing. It's the unhingedness of it. It's the fact that he's yelling that he's pretty fucking aggressive. Because I think if it's just someone being an asshole and just honking, then I'm getting mad and I'm getting into like a verbal argument.
Starting point is 00:57:37 But once the person is being like completely unhinged, I'm like, I think I actually don't want any part of it. What I'm scared of is him just ramming into me and making me run the red light anyways at his pace. Yeah. Yeah. I can just see the shot of his like big. curled foot slamming on the gas, teaboning me.
Starting point is 00:57:55 I might run the red light. I'm going to, I'm going to, I'm going to try and do it as safely as possible. I don't think I, I don't think I'm gut reaction doing it. I think I'm sitting there being like, okay, I got to eject. I'm going to run a red light. I don't care about the consequences. Yeah. I'm creeping through the red light.
Starting point is 00:58:13 Yeah. Okay. That's the move. What if you see, it's like kind of tough to see and there's a 5% chance you'll get into an accident. Just 5%. If there's like cars parked and I need to like inch into the intersection to see, then I think I maybe don't. Yeah, I think I think I don't.
Starting point is 00:58:29 Even if there's a 5% chance, I think they don't. What if the Grinch gets out? I like I like I like I pictured myself. I just. I pictured myself doing that too and I was like how. It's so funny that like if it's just a regular guy, I'm like, I'm like, all right. Maybe I guess if this guy's going to threaten me, I'm like, if this guy's coming to my car, I'm going to get into a fight with him.
Starting point is 00:58:53 But if it's the Gritch, I'm like, this guy is gone. This guy is too far gone. I'm also picturing myself, like, seeing him in, like, my side mirror and then pressing, pressing, like, frantically locking, and then him just literally, like, shattering my window. I said I was pissed. I do think I'd have to floor it away. I'd wait until he got as close to my window as I could stay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:20 he's going to jet back to his car and chase me. And I know that. Yeah. But what if he throws a grappling hook and, uh, he starts steering behind your car? Well, you're doing presumably as long as you get, as long as you get the fuck out of his way, he'll let you go. I think you just in a big rush.
Starting point is 00:59:35 Again, every situation here leads to a worse outcome because if you drive off when he's out of the car, he's going to sprint. Oh my God. He's going to get so bad. He's going to bound on all fours. It's already a fight. He's already coming after you if he gets out of the car. I'm guessing that there's no option to just go right on red.
Starting point is 00:59:49 no there's definitely no option to go right on red. Okay. You just had to go straight through the intersection. I think you got a gun at a chance. Yeah. This is like, have you ever been in a situation where you fuck up and a car's honking at you? And you're just like,
Starting point is 01:00:02 well, and you're just like, well, yeah. Sorry, dude. It's like that, but with the Grinch. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:08 I'm with Jake. I think you put on the hazards. You kind of stand up for yourself, but you just slowly. I'm going to get out of your way, but slower than you want. Yeah. Don't get out of the car, man.
Starting point is 01:00:19 I think I leave the most incomprehensible 911 call with my doors locked. There's a goofy incident at this light. Not a goofy one, a grinchy one. I guess, yeah, it's more within like the realm of reality that there's like a road rage incident with a guy dressed up as the Grinch. Yeah. Then it is the goofy like threatening an incident goofy style is really hard to report. But it's you can call 911 if the grinch. Grinch shows up.
Starting point is 01:00:50 You can be like, there's a guy in a mask. I think it's the gray. And he's acting aggressive. It's a green mask. I don't know. But you could also just say. Did you recognize it?
Starting point is 01:01:01 It's a fuzzy green mask. But you go also. Have you ever seen Halloween as Grinch night? It looks like that. His shoes are three sizes too small. Also on the phone call, though, you probably can quite literally say there's a guy in a Grinch costume. Heck, it might even be the Grinch.
Starting point is 01:01:16 It is so fucking funny. How much. more scared and how much more like reverential we are to like fictional characters. Yeah. Then we are real stuff. For sure. We're just like it's goofy. I'm so scared.
Starting point is 01:01:31 Because if it's not LeBlanc honking at me, I think I'm just like, yeah, dude. You're like LeBlanc, come on, man. Come on, man. Come on, dude. Take my car. Go ahead. I think, I mean, I'm going back to the goofy flight because like you have inadvertently created the full on horror movie because like, if you look into the pilot seat and you just
Starting point is 01:01:49 catch a glimpse of goofy in there before the little closes. That's the most terrifying thing you're ever going to see. That's a good horror movie is like at the beginning of it and we'd have to make it like a sort of we'd have to make up our own Disney. You take your whole family there and then it's a dad sort of
Starting point is 01:02:05 like coming unwound because like the goofy character Yeah, the what? The glunker? The glunker comes up to you and it's like You're just going to be a instant glunky style and then you pinch the dad. What the fuck is the glunky style?
Starting point is 01:02:20 Yeah. It could be a classic like force major unraveling dad. Yeah. I love an unraveling dad genre. It is a popular genre. Unraveling dad or unraveling mom. So maybe it's just unraveling parent is a genre. Certainly.
Starting point is 01:02:35 Yeah. Yeah. Like everything going poorly. I guess it's like farce, but like through the lens of like American masculinity. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What if the character looks like he just means well?
Starting point is 01:02:44 And it's a character that you don't see a lot, right? So it's like Scrooge McDuck. Scrooge McDuck comes up to you at the park Like people are like going nuts They see Scrooge McDuck It's a rare get Is that if you're at a park and you see Scrooge McDuck That's like rare
Starting point is 01:02:59 I mean that would be nuts Yeah I don't know that I've ever seen them They're shoving Chippendale down your fucking throat All the time I feel like I rarely see Huey doing it Yeah yeah so Scrooge McDuck comes up to you Hands you like doesn't say anything Ignores the screaming children around him
Starting point is 01:03:14 Hands you a piece of paper that has your flight number on it and then gives you like the uh-uh like it shakes his head and then disappears walks if he has my flight number i'm worse flights canceled that one i report that one i say this is going to sound nuts i think i don't even say that it was scrooge mctuck i'm like someone just handed me this flight number walked away i don't know what that means but you reported to the airline i reported the airline yeah yeah did i tell you guys that i went to like a character breakfast with Sid and she just like was not trusting Goofy. Specifically goofy?
Starting point is 01:03:50 There's like a little picture meet and greet where we can hang out with Goofy and she was just like standing off of the side not having it at all. But were there other characters that she was cool with? No. Chippendale came. Didn't like them either. That makes sense. I was never into characters when I was a kid.
Starting point is 01:04:04 Yeah, yeah. I think it makes sense. They are like these simulacrums. They don't look real. They look a little too human. Like you clearly know there's someone in there. They're too big. They make them big.
Starting point is 01:04:14 What if they are human? Face characters, though. Like a princess. She's more okay with that. She's cool with like, she can handle Elsa. Proportions are correct to a child. Right. Those are trusting proportions.
Starting point is 01:04:24 Yeah. Yeah. But I think because they can't make, like, what you want a cartoon to be is like Lil, but you can't put a kid in there. You need an adult to work the job. So they end up having to be adult sized. I remember not liking the characters, like not wanting to take pictures with the characters or anything when I was a kid.
Starting point is 01:04:42 And I think my parents chalked it up to me being like scared of the characters. and I'm realizing now it's just social anxiety. I'm just like, I don't want to go, like, don't thrust me into a situation where I just had to take a picture with the stranger. You don't want to meet, like, your dad's friend. Yeah, I don't want to meet, I don't want to meet the guy who's in the goofy costume that much. I kind of do now, actually. I'm treating.
Starting point is 01:05:04 That's why it's so annoying that he pinches me. Yeah. There's a lot of great photos of me, like, yucking up with goofy at this breakfast because I'm like, well, like, you know, I've got to get my money's worth. There you go. Somebody's got to take the picture. Daddy will take one for the team, I guess. All right.
Starting point is 01:05:19 So the sort of vaguer the threats, the harder, the easier it is for a character to get one over on us. But if not, hey, we're going to report that. Just going back to the Grinch thing one last time. Sure. I do think, could you just, could you get out of your car and run and just sacrifice your vehicle? I think the vehicle is the one. Yeah. Because if you get out, then he's going to chase you.
Starting point is 01:05:44 and you know he's fast. No, I think that you sacrifice your car because it seems to the Grinch. No, we know he bounds on all fours. No, dude, he bounds on all fours. He doesn't want your car. He wants your life. Yeah. He can outrun you.
Starting point is 01:05:56 He can get a new carola. I can't get a new life. I just, I hope that he goes for the corolla. Yeah. That's my final answer. I'm doing the, I'm doing the Jake. I roll down the window a little bit. And I go like, easy, buddy.
Starting point is 01:06:11 Like, trying to make it like I'm still kind of cool. but I put on my ass hurts and I slowly run the red light. Does anyone, does anyone stand up to the Grinch? I was going to say, does anyone like just back up into him and then speed away? I think that, I mean,
Starting point is 01:06:28 the Grinch has so many gadgets. He's definitely going to have a winch or something that can attach to your car if you do that. If he brandished a weapon, I would try that. Oh, yeah. Maybe if he came out of his car, then I would try to just be like,
Starting point is 01:06:42 okay, I'm going to run you over. first. Yeah. Right. If he like starts walking and then he goes back and starts rooting around in his glove box, I think I throw it in reverse. Yeah. I think that the Grinch says what I'm thinking in this moment.
Starting point is 01:06:53 He just leans out and says, you can't win this. Oh my God. Imagine, imagine the Grinch tries to get you. You run him over and he gets up. He starts running faster than your car. It's so close to Christmas. So fucking scary. He's so powerful because it's so close.
Starting point is 01:07:13 Christmas. All right, I think we generally are all afraid of the fringe here. With that, we're going to wrap this one up. Thank you all so much for listening. This is super fun. We're going to do D&D court over on the Patreon, so come listen to that over at patreon.com slash Nadpot. That's any BD-POD don't sing yet. Don't do it, don't do it.
