Today's story begins in the middle of our last chapter. As the Trinneville trio encounters lots of trouble amidst hot tub bubbles, Blavin and Norwalk escort the benefactor

to the edge of the long boardwalk. Licker Stinch sweat pours from Blavin's face. He knows what he must do. As they reach the end of the pier, Blavin turns and attacks. The battle is brief, but long enough to give our heroes the time they need. But where is Blavin now? Is he alive?

Or will you need to make a post on Craigslist advertising for a new roommate? Only time will tell. And so without further ado, let's rejoin Retrieval Team 22 and begin chapter eight of the Trinavale adventure. Trinavale. Trinavale.

Last time we met U3 as well as Norwalk and Keychain, we're standing outside the Benefactor's mansion, shaking down Blavyn Blanfoot for information. He agreed to spill the beans, and so after leashing him up with one of Jin's dancing ribbons,

you all followed him to a nearby alley. Once there he revealed that he is secretly part of an organization called the Golden Iris that works to keep Trinaville safe from the very gods that made it. His mission has been to help the benefactor gather the Generat crystals and then steal them from right under his nose. He also revealed that the crystals contain enough potential energy to kill a god. And if all the crystals are activated together, the resulting shock wave would have enough power to level an entire continent

in a form of destruction similar to the aftermath you witnessed on Ginnarach. It seems that the benefactors plan is to kill a god no matter what the cost. And so with this dire information, you decided to enter the manor and search for the three crystals you previously handed over. Onyx on your way to the door, you received a follow-up message from your dubious ally, Mercurio Delurio, letting you know that he and his assassin bodyguard Z were in position. You then enter the mansion and were met by the benefactor himself. He inquired about the crystals,

and instead of handing them over, Jins used invisibility to mimic an accidental teleportation. Blavin' and Orwalk then escorted the benefactor outside to try and find where you went, while you three secretly slinked into the mansion's greenhouse observatory. Once there, you used a well-timed distraction from chipped the fry cook to search the room

with a massive arcane telescope, which led you to discover a magic doorknob hidden within the helmet of a statue. After a surprise scuffle, with the rooms three guards and their sitcom-loving living statue, during which NIAC executed a flawless Elaine dance for Onyx's transdegraile. You managed to recover the doorknob, which you then learned was equipped with a Dimension

door spell. You opened the door and discovered the three remaining crystals in a pure white storage void. After claiming them, you tried to head back out the door, but discovered the connection had been rerouted to the mansion's main chamber, in which the benefactor and a large laser-focusing array now stand. The benefactor implored you to hand over the crystals, and when you resisted, he transformed his golden cane into a staff glowing with aquamarine energy and prepared to fight.

And that is where we are now. So you are standing in the central atrium. Around the room, you see six guards poised with their swords drawn. The cube atlas that stood in the middle of the room has now been transformed into a glowing Tesla coil-esque death ray. High above you through the glass dome ceiling,

you see the green flame of the lighthouse pulses as clouds gather around it. This guy darkened then suddenly emerald lightning strikes the tower and bolts of energy streak down the coil. The bolts jump from moon to moon and into the arcane receptacle inside the globe. The green blue glow dances on the benefactors face as he strides toward you, staff in hand. What do you do?

Oh boy. Uh, hey Z, you out there? There's no response. You see six guards in the room, none of them seem to be Z. Right on, right on. I quickly shoot off a DM to Keith, saying, I always loved you. Huh. You get a DM right back. The benefactor is like, I'm saying that this is happening

while the benefactor is like delivering his speech before. We're kind of cutting back a little bit in time. You get a text back. Keith says, do you need help? I don't want to get him wrapped up in this. I still are phone it right, yes. All you know, Gaffs. I pretend as if I don't know that get him wrapped up in this. I still are phone and right, yes. All you know, calves. I pretend as if I don't know that he's doing it, but really, I'm like making sure that it's a cute text, though.

When you slay a humanoid, you cause its spirit to rise from its corpse as a specter. And they use a legendary action to cast rewind soldier. This is another three-action move. The other guard pops back up and they are at 5 HP again. Oh, one more than my baby. They don't have the tattoos, but I think that's better. Honestly, it's kind of like you just ripped me off. That wasn't really that inventive. If anything, you saw me do it. And then you did it. It was quite derivative. I imagine you'll try to take all the credit for the original idea to you. I've been doing that move since before you left the moon,

It is their turn proper now. And I think they are going to go for, on a tour making a name for yourself, they're just gonna take some staff attacks at you. You see them swinging their aquamarine staff. It's gold, but it's kind of got like a glowing end. They swing it so it looks like a perfect circle of Aqua Marine energy coming towards you. And they're going to take two attacks.

Does a 21 hits? Yes. Okay. I actually have very low AC stuff. Maybe if you covered yourself with armor instead of butterflies. Let's see. I look flyiasc. I rolled a one.

So that's only four damage on that first one. If you're not for damage. Oh, that's because I forgot about the necrotic damage. Oh, I'm resistant to necrotic damage. Oh shit, really? Ooh, some ones in there. Five points of necrotic damage. That's what they have. Great. And that's their turn, man. You were holding steady on X. We go. that benefactor looks like shaken by your determination I expect to nothing less than the inheritor of the moon crystal Well, I guess I am fueled by how many more butterflies that do I want to put on you?

That's such a relief. Normally, he wouldn't because the other guards are dispersed a bit, but I think that's such a powerful overhead, but obviously yes. Okay. So Jennifer, fully gone, cannot be revived again, dead forever. He's a 23? Yeah. I'm sorry, benefactor, did I kill your toy?
