You poke your head in and you see the back of a woman as she addresses three familiar figures. A shadow-mancer, aware-raven, and a puppet. The woman speaks. I have gifted you life for the purpose of this task and in it you have failed. Why shouldn't I reclaim that which you have squandered?

With this she reaches to an oil painting on the wall, an oil painting of a musical instrument, a dulcimer, with pale purple sparkling strings. She reaches to the painting, then into the painting, and pulls the instrument from it. Mistress, please don't. Unfortunately, tomorrow night is very important, and I need you well-rested. And with that, she removes a scarf from around her neck to reveal several mouths stitched onto her neck. She begins to pluck the dulcimer and sing a wordless melody. Your three assailants plead. We didn't want to. I, but even as they protest, the song works its magic. Their bodies go limp and de-animate. The zombie shadow-mancer falls limp, a simple corpse. The puppet slackens and returns to an innocent child's toy. The wear-raven reverts to a regular raven and flies out the window. She takes the dulcimer, returns it into the painting, which receives it as if painted in oil. She retires her scarf, and then she looks at a tapestry on the wall.

Rings her hands has to do something that she doesn't like doing. She removes a coin purse from her pocket. doing. She removes a coin purse from her pocket. She whips away the tapestry, revealing a floor-length mirror, burrowing and gold around the edges. She throws the coin purse onto her desk, careful not to let the reflection catch her. Kind of shivers and discomfort or discussed, and then exits the room. After she leaves, the mirror ripples like water that a stone has been cast on. In the reflection of the mirror, a silvery humanoid skitters into the frame. It cocks its head with curiosity, Its face shimmering, reflecting all these different identities almost momentarily, the same way that an oil puddle reflects rainbows. And then it puts its hands up to the glass of the mirror.

And it emerges from the mirror, grabs the coin purse, tests its weight, sniff set. When it looks satisfied, it produces two severed ears and a bloody tongue puts it on the desk and finally a diamond. Then it goes back into the mirror And the glass of the mirror ripples like water. Baby? Yeah. Thank you. You up there, I'm using message cantrip to communicate with you, my son.

It floats laterally, looking into the windows of an apartment building, many gone dark for the night. It passes a messy studio apartment and the street lamps catch sequins and costume jewelry. Then it passes the next window, the hall outside where a drow elf woman kneels, picking a lock. The gaser focuses on the woman for a beat, highlighting her silhouette,

then concludes, target, frequent visitor. Then the song interrupts the memory almost telepathically and the gayser glitches in and out struggling to maintain sentience, then the memory disappears into static. Do I recognize the drow elf? So you actually recognize the drow elf? The drow elf woman was the understudy that came on stage when GeneoVeeve didn't appear. Okay, but was she going to GenoVeeve's place?

That's what it would seem. Okay. And with that memory I'll say, you can kind of, using landmarks that were passed, you can be like, okay, that's where GenoVeeve's apartment is. Got it. Okay. What was that Dr. Lowe woman's name? Did we catch it? Ida Belvedere.
