Starting point is 00:00:00 The following podcast is a dear media production. If you guys heard my podcast with Kim Kardashian, you know that for some reason I asked her like what she goes to sleep in. I don't know. That's weird. But I did. And she used to actually not like wear underwear until she came out with skims. And then she would wear a skim's thongs.
Starting point is 00:00:20 And, you know, even though it's her company, I was like, oh my God, I believe you. And I'm going to try it for myself. And I swear to you guys on everything in my life that I was. a grandma panties kind of gal until skims when I was like oh my god I actually feel naked this is amazing so I've been wearing skims thongs and it's so stretchy it's so soft it melts on your body you forget you're wearing it highly recommend and especially if you guys wanted to start with something with skims because a lot of times people are like oh what should I you know she has so many great stuff on skims but the fits everybody collection is their best kept secret
Starting point is 00:00:59 like if you want to start with something start with the fits everybody collection it's available in sizes extra extra small to 4x and it just has amazing amazing reviews and just so much good stuff skims fits everybody and more bestselling essentials are available now at skims.com plus get free shipping on orders over $75 at skims.com and after you place your order let them know that I sent you select podcasts in the survey and be sure. to select my show, Not Skinny But Not Fat, in the drop-down menu that follows so Kim knows that you got it because of me.
Starting point is 00:01:36 Okay? Thank you. This is Amanda Hirsch from the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. You might know me from Not Skinny Bonafat on Instagram, where I spend my time talking about reality TV, celebrities, everything happening and pop culture. I also talk to some of our favorite celebs and reality TV stars. We talk about what's going on. Tune in every Tuesday and just feel like,
Starting point is 00:01:59 You're talking to show with your best friends in your living room. Hey, guys, before we get into the Andy Cohen podcast, which like super excited to have Andy Cohen on, I, you know, huge fan actually told him that I was scared of him because I thought he was, like, scary and intimidating. and he's not. So that's great news for everybody. So before you listen to that episode, I just wanted to say, hey, what's up everybody. What a freaking shit show. It's been lately with this Vanderpump drama selling sunset was like pretty vibey. Like I'm not sure everyone agrees with me on this, but like I thought this was one of the best seasons. And I just feel like the manufacturer drama was less. That's what it felt like to me. I think that Brie Nick Cannons, one of his baby mama's, such a vibe.
Starting point is 00:03:01 I don't know what the recipe is for being a bitch, but also being liked. Oh my God, maybe that's me. Maybe I'm that recipe. No, I'm not nearly as fucking bitchy as these girls, but somehow she does it, right? It's like she comes on, she's in your face, she'll tell you like it is, whatever, but you're, you still like her because she's just real, maybe, run real. Oh, fucking we hate saying that shit. But Nicole Young came on and she tried to do the thing where she's like, in your face,
Starting point is 00:03:33 says what she thinks. And people are not liking her. I do not know if Nicole's going to be back. Apparently Nicole is getting death threats. I don't really understand what's going on with her and Griselle. The whole drama, you know, of her trying to bring up that house that they co-listed, but Jason gave it to them. But Griselle didn't take the money, but Nicole's still mad that her name is listed under it.
Starting point is 00:03:54 It's like, what are you talking about? And then Chrisel's going on social media trying to prove that like, hey, we've been cool. You've DM'd me. You've talked to me even before the show. You wanted me to like coach you on being on reality TV. Why are you pretending we have all this beef for the show? So that's the drama. But I really enjoyed, I think Brie was just such a breath of fresh air.
Starting point is 00:04:15 I think Chelsea, you know, the little bitchiness towards Bree, but also towards Nicole, but also she's kind of a good friend. Heather, I just feel like it was good this season. So I'm excited for season seven. Didn't love the way it ended with like Marion Crischel. Like what was that? That felt super weird. I feel like every season just ends with Criselle like walking out.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Also, she's the fucking face of the show. So no wonder people are jealous and, you know, whatever. Anyway, moving on to Vanderpump Rules, the reunion that I actually regret part one watching live. I was influenced, okay? Everybody has been watching live. It's been like these mega events and I always watch the next day. I can watch it recorded and not watch commercials and be able to like screen grab shit for you guys. And this time I was like, you know what? I'm going to watch it live. This is our Super Bowl,
Starting point is 00:05:02 blah, blah, blah, blah. It literally felt like 15 minutes of screaming. Nobody could get a word out. It was like funny. It was cringy. It was I wanted them to talk. Like we're here to discuss. I don't care of whatever comes out of Sandoval's mouth is a fucking lie. I want to hear him bury himself. I want more of Raquel smirking at the fucking screen and the trailer enjoying her name being mentioned. Like, is she okay, you guys? When they say her name, even when Schwartz was like the kiss was liberating, which like he really needs to let go of that fucking narrative. He sounds fucking stupid. Like his friend just blew up his life for her and you're still sticking to your game of the kiss in fucking Mexico.
Starting point is 00:05:47 The one thing Katie asked you not to do liberated you, you're an asshole. And the thing is, I've been kind of Team Schwartz, even though I'm, you know, friends with Katie. I've always told her, like, what can I do? He has, you know, he's, there's something about Schwartsey, you know, Schwartsey is just, you know. And meanwhile, why do we excuse this behavior? We have this thing where we're like, certain people can get away with shit and certain people can't. That makes me think of Scott Dissick, whose birthday it just was last week. And I'm like, happy birthday, Scott. I love you. You're the best. Meanwhile, we trash Tristan Thompson. I don't know. I can't do the thesis right now it might have to do with these are different scenarios in life like they
Starting point is 00:06:27 try to say in the reunion they're like all of us cheated all of us are fucking dicks this was different you were with ariana for 10 years this was one of her best friends all that shit i will tell you guys i am starting to question a lot of things with this because not the blind eye thing i will never tell a woman you turned a blind eye because people can be manipulated you know that's not thing. I just think there is some truth. And I think in their interview on call her daddy, she kind of said that. There is some truth to the fact that they did have conversations. And although she never threatened to kill herself, which is so fucked up, he would weaponize mental health that way, she did admit that she said, I will go off the grid. I will turn off
Starting point is 00:07:11 my phone. I will disappear. Like those are kind of, they are certain threats. Like there, so there is some truth to him saying she wouldn't let him. break up with her. Okay, a little truth. And you guys know, I love trying to see both sides. Of course, there's no sides here. There's one team, blah, blah, blah. And he's a fucking little rat, which I love that Ariana called Rachel a rat. But it did seem like, not only was he being a horrible boyfriend to her face, not there for her when a grandma died, when the dog died, when Lala was like, he didn't go home. She was like, okay. And he's like, yep, sorry I was taking a shit. He didn't care that he was caught, not taking a shit. He didn't care. He was like,
Starting point is 00:07:50 here's this in your face fucking break up with me which is a pussy fucking thing to do and conniving and gross but there is some truth to him not trying because how hard is it to try straight up and be like hey i'm in love with rquel let's break up but there were conversations she did threaten in some way that she would like blow up her life if he ever which like why was she so obsessed with him i feel like that's the question of the fucking day like why babe like why are you fighting over this. What was so funny was Tom Sandoval. The whole world fucking hates him. He doesn't care.
Starting point is 00:08:26 He's still performing in these like classroom auditoriums. I don't fucking know. But he's mostly upset about this glamour magazine article about his white nail polish. And the title was Tom Sandoval Rune white nail polish for everybody. I agree. But what was so wild is like he got so
Starting point is 00:08:45 angry about this and came for the reporter and was like, this isn't journalism. and he's just like writing, this writing is trashy and disgusting and how dare she call herself a journalist. I'm a human being. Meanwhile, we're hearing that he's cooped up in Austin dating some chick. I've heard from people and friends from people who have seen him with this girl. It kind of makes me upset because I'm like, are you fucking kidding me? Like you're not going to fucking stick this out with Raquel after everything that you did? I feel like I'm not alone in this and a lot of people thought that they should just end up together.
Starting point is 00:09:22 A lot of people thought let them just end up together. So listen, the reunion part two tomorrow, I'm not watching live. So fuck you. And if I watch it live, I'm not going to talk about it. I'm going to talk about it the next day when I can properly screen grab and see the curses on Peacock because they bleep everything on motherfucking when it's live. So in other news, the Barbie movie, everyone is super, super excited about it. I feel like if it isn't the most amazing fucking thing, I've never seen a more overhyped movie in my life.
Starting point is 00:09:56 The trailer just dropped at the end of last week. And it looks like we're finally getting a taste of what it's about, that it's like funny. And we love that. And especially we love seeing Ryan Gosling and Margo Robbie being fucking funny. So I'm excited about that. We also got the Kardashians that premiered last week. We got Chloe's baby name. It is Tatum.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Fucking anticlimactic as fuck. we need to stop hiding baby names because imagine I waited for a year and then it was like, this is Noah. Like, it would be so... Like, if you're going to wait for a year, it better be motherfucking, like, legendary, like Nick Cannon and Bree's baby, okay?
Starting point is 00:10:36 If you're waiting for a year. But no, I'm all for a normy name. I feel like Truentatem. It's very cute. It was just anti-climactic. But I do think this season is going to be fucking wild. I think the Kim and Courtney drama is going to be real because we just know those two did not vibe for the last year. And we just felt it.
Starting point is 00:10:56 We just felt it in the Chloe and Kim post. We felt it. We felt it all over. You guys know what I thought was so funny before we get into the Annie interview. Sports Illustrated this year had Martha Stewart on the cover. As we all know, Megan Fox was also there. Brooks Nader also there. I feel bad for anybody who shared the cover with Martha, who would have thought an 81 year old would steal these models thunder like who even knew they were there what's so funny and i met brooks and she's so great and so cool i i was seated next to her at a dinner and i i put my foot in my mouth i was like i didn't know you're on the cover oh my god that's amazing and then i word vomited because that's what i do and i was like i was like isn't it crazy that martha stewart sold your thunder you're so fucking
Starting point is 00:11:43 hot megan fox so fucking hot no one really cared megan foxes was on the cover because Martha fucking Stewart was on the cover at 81 years old but I think you can look at glass half full like but how iconic is it to be part of that kind of cover that's so memorable like I was with Martha Stewart but at the same time you got the cover
Starting point is 00:12:02 that's a huge deal it was overshadowed a little bit I don't know I could see both ways but anyway foot in my mouth I said that out loud to Brooks when she was with her mom I was like that's so amazing your daughter what a great honor too bad Martha Stewart fucking solar thunder
Starting point is 00:12:18 but I meant it in like under that's how I would feel so I'm like but she she didn't feel that way she's super hot she made the cover it's a huge deal I was just like wow who would have thought you know and I love this world I love this random ass world
Starting point is 00:12:33 Martha Stewart on the cover of Sports Illustrated fucking putting Megan Fox Brooks Nader to the side she's like here I am and my long ass legs and she drinks I love that I love that like She is the anti-goop. I heard she's like such a big drinker. So we love to hear it. Anyway, let's get into the interview with Andy Cohen. Enjoy. I love you. I've been wanting to try Emma Chamberlain's Chamberlain coffee for a while. I was like, this is so good. Like whenever she posts about making her perfect little ice coffees in her perfect little house, I was like, I need it too. So I was so excited to try it. And especially because she has a new ready to drink collection. inspired by her own daily cold root recipe and they're just amazing they launched four plant-based
Starting point is 00:13:22 latte flavors in a can available exclusively at walmart and you just shake well and serve for the best cold coffee experience and literally i put those in my fridge and i actually poured them over ice and i looked at the ingredients the ingredients are amazing the milk is plant-based i'm like hello was this made for me and you guys know that i haven't been huge on coffee lately I know also that Emma Chamberlain's macha is amazing. She just makes amazing stuff. And her ready-to-drink collection is available now and you can enjoy it with like literally minimal effort. She has one that's cold brew latte, one mocha latte that was amazing. A cinnamon bun latte and vanilla latte. So I really love the mocha latte, but they're all amazing. And you can find these
Starting point is 00:14:06 exclusively at Walmart on the Walmart app or online at Walmart.com. And for a limited time, my listeners can get a free Chamberlain coffee latte when they purchase a can terms and conditions apply. You have to go to chamberlain coffee.co slash not skinny to get the offer details. So chamberlain coffee dot co slash not skinny to get all the details on this offer. Hey, Andy Cohen. Well, hey there. How are you? I'm good.
Starting point is 00:14:38 How are you? Great. Happy to be here. I know. It's like we're meeting in such an interesting. circumstance. I know. Like with mics in our face that are in for realties. Oh, I did. Yeah. Okay. What are we here for today, Andy? We're filming this like fresca. Yes, I'm here. I am, I have a great partnership going with fresca. I have been a, you know what, by the way, I love it because I have been
Starting point is 00:15:01 drinking fresca and tequila for anyone who's watched, watch what happens live since the early days of watch what happens live. I have been drinking fresca and tequila. Mark, Mark Consuelos, turn me on to the drink. I always called it a frescilla. And now the geniuses at fresca have come up with fresca mixed in a can. There's a variety pack out of four flavors. I'm the guy that was posting during the pandemic. Hey, I can't find fresca. And tagging them. And so when they came to me and said, we're, you know, we're doing this line of fresca mix. I'm like, get me this partnership. I love that. Exactly. I feel like that's the most fun. It's the most fun.
Starting point is 00:15:43 When it's really, it came from you. Like, you posted it, they thought, I fucking love it. I love it too. So everyone go try the fresca. Fresca mixed, vodka spritz variety pack. And you love the mango. I love the mango citrus. You're a mango guy.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Yeah, I am. Are Amanda and Kyle feeling betrayed? Amanda and Kyle, they can come up with a deal. Yeah, listen, I already had, I mean, I was drinking fresca when Amanda and Kyle were like in high school. I mean, no, he's like a 45. Well, you don't know his feel it. Yeah, that's true. Okay, I wanted to get into Bravo's stuff.
Starting point is 00:16:19 So for me, so I am a, I call myself a fraud bravo-holic because people think I'm one. That's okay. Yeah, okay. So sometimes I'm like, I'm not watching all the houses, but I'm not watching all the things. But I do feel very strongly about the ones that I love. And I also feel like I, a lot of times defend you, you're welcome. Good. when people think that you are in charge of everything.
Starting point is 00:16:43 Yes. You know? Yes, I am no longer. So can you explain like once I brought to the people? Your role. Yes, I am. I used to be in charge of programming and development, okay? Like 2003?
Starting point is 00:16:57 2004 to 2000 maybe. 14. Something like that. Yes. Okay. Yes. And so I am now, when I left that, I think the last show that I developed, I think Southern Charm and Below Deck, those were kind of when I was on the way out of development.
Starting point is 00:17:20 And I retained my EP status of all the Housewives. So anything Housewives, I am an executive producer of involved in casting. I watch every episode. I give notes on every episode. Whoa. I ultimate girls trip. Anything regarding the Housewives. I'm an EP of and watch what happens live.
Starting point is 00:17:42 And then, of course, all the reunions. And all the reunions. Yes. Wow, that's still, how do you have time to watch all the housewives? I just make them, I have to. You have to. And then, you know, I will say that there are some dotted line things. I'm still very in touch with, because all of the programming execs at Bravo,
Starting point is 00:17:59 the house rides are scattered out throughout them all. So I still have day-to-day relationships with, I'm texting and on the phone with all the programming execs at Bravo. And since everyone from Bravo is coming through Watch What Happens Live, I would say that I will say to them, what are you doing about Summer House? Here's what I think. But someone has taken your role since then. Yes, absolutely. Wow. So you're still, like, you're still hands-on kind of. I'm still very hands-on with Housewives. Okay. Wow. And then I would say that I share my opinions freely on all the other shows when I have them. So how free is that? How, how free are you to share your opinion? Very. Really? Yeah. You could be like team Ariana. Well, I mean
Starting point is 00:18:44 everyone's team Ariana, but I'm also team Tom Sandoval staying on the show. Yeah, I heard you say that, that like no one's getting fired for cheating. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. That would be quite hypocritical on that show. They've all cheated except Ariana and Katie. Like, hello, that's what we love about. I'm a Vanderpum. I'm a Vanderpum, girly. Yeah. Do Bravo fan, because they scare me. I think I used to be like, Bravo, Bravo, and then I got scared. Okay. You know, there's so many Bravo accounts. Bravo that, Bravo that.
Starting point is 00:19:14 They get mad at you if you're, you don't like the right person. They get mad at you if you have a different opinion. They're wild. I find that I love it because they're passionate about something that I've involved in. When it comes to me, I just find that
Starting point is 00:19:31 they're generally mad at me about something. Really? Yeah, I think so. I think so. Oh, my God. I kind of feel like... Do they ever get mad at you? Oh, my God. I feel like they're always mad at me about one thing or another. I mean, from everything from why hasn't the trailer been released, which I have no control over, to, you know, they think that I am, you know, I have favorites, or that I was too easy on someone at a reunion or not hard enough.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Yeah. Or too hard on someone. Or I'm biased or I'm not, you know, so I have to take it with a grain of fun. salt and it's a delicate balance. You know, hosting the reunions is a really delicate balance. How fun is that for you? It's fun. How fun is it? It can be fun. Not always. No, I mean, it can be really fun. I mean, sometimes the Jersey reunion was not fun because it's family and they're all very upset and passionate and yeah, that's not fun. Yeah. But others are, others are fun. Like do you enjoy more hosting the reunions or doing your Watch What Happens Live? I mean, I love
Starting point is 00:20:36 watch what happens. Yeah. Reunions are meaty and, you know, for the people that watch each of those shows, they're the Super Bowl for that show. Yeah. So I love being a part of it. And I like it. I feel like I feel re-energized with the reunions over, I feel like kind of, when was it that I just, I've gone into a few recently where I'm like, I need to deliver expectations are high and I want to do a good job, which is a good feeling to happen. Yeah, like what you did the Kardashians, which wasn't that was not a Bravo reunion. Right, right. I was different. I was really excited about that. That was, Kim and I kind of hatched that plan a little bit. She, I don't know how and I don't remember, but I, and I said, would you ever do it? And she said, if we did it, I really want to
Starting point is 00:21:27 do it. And then as, as we're, they all agreed to it. She really helped me. book them all and say, we need to do this. That's the thing that people don't understand about the family. Like, they make their business decisions and they come up with the ideas. And Kim was really instrumental, though, in making that happen. But then I got freaked out as we were getting closer that they weren't going to let me do my thing. And I called her and I said, listen, I need to talk to you.
Starting point is 00:21:57 I feel like I need to do what I do. I don't want to show you the questions. I need to go there. And if that's too scary for everyone, then we shouldn't do this. Should, no, you have to. That's right. And then the morning of, I remember Chris was really nervous. And she was like, why did we agree to do this?
Starting point is 00:22:16 And now, the truth of the matter is, I thought that the final product was really juicy. And as revealing as they've been, they confirmed a lot of stuff that they've never confirmed. But I will say that there was so much more. And if there could ever be a director's cut or my cut, I think people would be really surprised because we had very frank conversations about plastic surgery, about what, you know, there was a moment where I was grilling Kim and she was being, she was being really PC. And then she finally said, look, we're not going to use this, but I'm going to tell you right now. And she told it to me straight.
Starting point is 00:22:57 It was either something about, it was about one of her former friends or someone who was no longer a part of the circle. And I was like, wow, okay. You need to pitch this director's cut. No, pitch it. I mean, they own the tape. Yeah, yeah. So it's never going to be seen. They have final cut. But I was really happy with what they did let on the air because it was more revealing than they had been. Well, I think that people think a lot of the times, I had them on my show. And people think, like, they told you what to ask probably. And you had to, and I was like, literally no. Right. Like, there were a couple things cut. wasn't like anything huge and they did let me ask the question so people a lot of times have
Starting point is 00:23:39 like the wrong you know I have influencers that have been around for a day asking me for more like you know control control and like approvals I'm like hello that's interesting yeah very very very very interesting you guys I know I was on TikTok for only a day but in that brief brief brief time, I was influenced. I was actually influenced to get COSA's before because Haley Beaver was always posting about it. And I was like, if Haley Beaver is using it, I got to use it. And she wasn't like in a brand deal with them. She was just posting it. So like, duh. So I'm so excited that COS is sponsoring my podcast. But I highly recommend it. You guys, I've been using their concealer ever since I saw Haley Bieber using it. And summer is around the corner, you guys. So it's time to have like a light
Starting point is 00:24:24 makeup feel and COSSS makes clean makeup for skin care freaks because their complexion products are actually proven to make your skin better. And they're dermatologists tested. They're safe for sensitive and acne-prone skin and they're hypoallergenic. So COSys repealer concealer, which is what Haley Bieber uses and I use. It's, you know, it's not your mom's concealer. It's not that old school stuff. It's creamy. It's weightless. It's a total multitasker. It's a concealer, eye cream, and spot treatment in one, you guys. You can also take the five-step shade finder quiz to find your perfect match for the concealer.
Starting point is 00:25:01 Millions of people have tried COSAs, so it's your time to be the million and one. So don't choose between wearing great makeup and taking care of your skin. Right now, COSS is offering my listeners, 15% off your first purchase of $50 or more when you go to COSys.com slash not skinny. go to Kosas K-O-S-A-S dot com slash not skinny for 15% off your first purchase of $50 or more plus free shipping. So I'm sure you could ask this a lot, but you have so many guests on what's what happens live. Exciting ones and two celebrities. You have a dream that hasn't come through yet. So many. Really? Yeah. I mean, you know what? By the way, half of the Kardashians haven't been on. Who hasn't been on? Kylie and Kendall have not been on. But I'd like to have them. Did you try? Like, is it...
Starting point is 00:27:21 At that moment, I didn't try, but I felt actually that Kendall was the one. Actually, Kendall and Kylie, I think, left the happiest that day. Because they were like, oh, this was great. We actually were able to... Yeah, because their personalities don't really shine through. Right. Right. They're some more like...
Starting point is 00:27:39 But I feel like there are so many people who've never done my show. Madonna's never done my show. Michelle Obama's never done my show. Yeah, there are so many. But I view every new person that's never done it as a big, I get really excited. Really? Oh, Rod just did it for the first time. Wait, he did it with another dude.
Starting point is 00:27:56 He did it with Liam Neeson. That was, yeah. That was great. But Liam's done it a million times. You have certain people that it's like random that they've done it a million times. I know. I've known Liam for 20 years because I knew his wife was a very good friend. Yes, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:12 Yeah, I saw him at the Rangers. One of the games. Yeah, he's a big Rangers fan. Yeah, he did that taken thing. Yeah, yeah. He's so cool. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:21 I have a question because I know housewaves and any reality, you know, TV show people, they get a lot of heat on social. Yeah. Yeah. With Raquel right now and everything. Yeah. If I were to be asked to be on the houses in New York City. Yeah. First of all, could you see me as one?
Starting point is 00:28:36 Looking up and down, everybody. No, I'm not looking up and down. No, just wait. Yes. You're an influential person in New York City. So yes, I could. And you don't seem like a shrinking violet. So yes.
Starting point is 00:28:47 What? A shrinking violent. What does that mean? It means someone that gets lost in a crowd, basically. Oh, well, thank you. Write that down. Andy Cohen said, I'm not a shrinking. Right.
Starting point is 00:28:57 What would you say to someone? Because even though I'm like in the public in my own way, I'd be terrified of like going on a show like that from like people's reaction. That's a normal reaction. Do people ever want to sign on and they're too scared? Yeah. Sometimes people have, we've gotten really, usually the thing that takes away. Usually the thing that takes women out of the process are their husbands. Usually it's...
Starting point is 00:29:22 Because they have to be on it or they don't want... They have to agree to be on it, but they realize they are really putting their lives on blast of their wife, their couple, the couple, their finances. We've had some really prominent women. People knocked us for years for that the Housewives of New York was white for so long. We had some very prominent women of color that we were very close to getting on the show that were dinged out at the last minute by their husbands. So many people probably think, like, I'd go on reality TV in a hot second, but they don't realize what you're asking. Because you're not, it's, you go all.
Starting point is 00:30:02 You want access to your home. We want access to your family, your kids. I know. It's pretty crazy. Yeah. Do you try to convince those people? Some of them. I mean, they're, you know, when it's a case of, especially when, I mean, there were certain women of color that were just super important to the franchise.
Starting point is 00:30:21 It was so meaningful to us to get them in. So those were times that I was in the meetings with people and calling them and saying, what can we do? And yes, during a full court press. Usually I don't get personally involved. I got personally, you know, there are some. Jenna Lyons, I got personally involved with Carol Radzwell. before she came on Roney. Oh, right, she told that story.
Starting point is 00:30:45 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I love Carol. You're like, there might be something there, but we won't go into that right now. When you ask the question, I've told you, it's a fear in my life to even go on a podcast and be asked what my housewife tagline is.
Starting point is 00:30:57 Like, I don't have one. Never ask me it. I don't know. When you ask people that, do they come prepared? Yeah, yeah. Sometimes I will ask a comedian off the cuff. Okay.
Starting point is 00:31:09 But a lot of times actresses or people who, are, sometimes people come on the show and they say to my talent producer, I have a housewives tagline. Do you have a mask me? Yeah. And then sometimes people, I'll say to them during a commercial break, do you have a housewives tagline? And they'll say, no. And I'll say, can you come up with them? And they'll say, okay, yeah, give me a minute.
Starting point is 00:31:31 So it depends. But you have one for you. I do. Mine have changed. I've had so many through the years. My current one is I'm a father of two, but a daddy to many. Aw, I love that. Thanks.
Starting point is 00:31:44 I feel like that's so your life that you are probably constantly thinking of them. You're probably asleep at night being like, oh, my God, you come up with a new one. People give them to me all the time at book signings, when I'm on a book tour, when I'm just walking around, people will come up to me and say, I have a great tagline for you. Or people will say, can I tell you my housewife's tagline? I'm like, yes, please. And speaking of you being a daddy, first of all, you are also with your kids at the park. And I go with my kids to the park. And it's funny people not from New York City.
Starting point is 00:32:11 I was like, did you see Andy? He was there, too. And it's like not the same part. But we're both from New York City. Yeah. Lucy and Ben, didn't she just turn a year old? Just turned a year old. I have a new book out called The Daddy Diaries, the year I grew up. And it's the third installment of my Andy Cohen Diaries series.
Starting point is 00:32:30 That all were like New York Times bestseller. They were. And hopefully this one will be two. And I'm very excited about it because I vowed not to write another one because my life, it was great. and I love the first two books, but it was like, okay, this is just, I'm, it's like, I'm going to parties and hosting my show and, and, and that's what this book is and dropping a lot of names. But I, I knew, obviously, that Lucy was on the way and my life had changed so dramatically that I just thought, let me try this, let me start writing it and see how it feels. And it really wound up, I'm so proud of it. And I think it's really funny and it's super gossipy and there's so much. Housewives gossip. You got me a gossip. Yeah, there's a ton, and there's a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff from Bravo and watch what happens live. And it's very name-droppy in my personal life. But also, it's got, it's a lot about being a single dad. And I'm really proud of that.
Starting point is 00:33:26 I was going to ask you if you call yourself that. Like, I am a single dad. I am. And I'm proud of it. And it's so hard. It's so hard. But if I knew how hard it was, I still would have done it. And of course, in theory, I knew, but I didn't know, no, no. But it's something. There are two or three years apart, Ben and Lizzie. They're three years apart. He's four and she's one. Oh, she's four. He's four. Would you say that was that age difference, like, planned for you? You know what? I was going to Albany. Surrogacy was illegal in the state of New York until, and I helped get that law passed. Wow. Governor Cuomo really, he really made it happened, by the way. So I went to Albany a couple times that I was out there, you know,
Starting point is 00:34:14 trying to get it past. I wanted to have the baby in New York or I wanted my surrogate to have the baby in New York. And so Lucy was one of the first surrogate babies born here. And so I was kind, that held me up a little bit. But I also, it was good because it gave me a lot of time to kind of get good at it with Ben. Yeah. Yeah. So you would recommend that age gap for years. I guess, but who knows? Yes. He likes to each night to each other. Yes. Yes. He loved. loves her. Yeah, he loves her. And the Bravo fans love them. I know. It's very sweet. I feel like I feel like you really, really love that side of you. Yeah, it's totally new. And I have to say it's it's opened up a new window with all the housewives. Like my relationship with the housewives,
Starting point is 00:34:56 like during breaks on reunion shows, even at Jersey, there was so much drama and emotion in the room. But while we were breaking, I was like talking to the women. I'm like, did you sleep train your babies. And when your babies cry at night, you go in there. And it's fun to talk to them about that. We get to know them on that level because they're all great moms. Right. Because that's like a connection that you both have that you both have kids. Yes. Okay. So I told you before that I'm not on top of my Bravo shows entirely like as much as I'd want to be. All right. Do you have any friends that aren't at all? Most of my posse of good friends. My friends, by the way, are my friends And I dropped their names throughout Daddy Diaries, and they're in all of my other books.
Starting point is 00:35:41 But they're my friends from high school and college and just out of college. And I would say none of them watch Bravo. Yeah. But isn't that, then they can't really know what you're doing? Yeah, they know they have a sense. They've all, through the years, met a lot of the housewives just from being around me for so long. And they've come to kind of seminal shows of mine. I had a bunch of them.
Starting point is 00:36:04 A bunch of them were in a box. at the Legends Ball at BravoCon. They didn't know who anyone was, but they saw what was happening and they loved it and they were happy for me. And they got a big kick out of it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:17 Yeah, but it's interesting. Yeah, they don't really... Well, good for you. I feel like I would be mad. I'd be like, at least like watch my job. No, I'm good. I'm good. Okay, you're like enough people fucking love me.
Starting point is 00:36:26 Yeah, exactly. If I wanted to get... Well, I'm committed to New York and Jersey because I'm like East Coast. I don't know. But if I wanted to start another one, which one would you tell me to live in? I mean, Miami is so great right now.
Starting point is 00:36:38 And Beverly Hills. And Beverly Hills. I know. I feel like Beverly Hills. Very aspirational. Today's episode is sponsored by Jenny Kane. You know her. You love her.

Starting point is 00:38:20 Do I even need to tell you that the Kardashians is back on Hulu for season three and it's bigger and it's more dramatic and it's more fabulous than freaking ever? You guys know I've been a fan of the Kardashians my entire life. Don't be ashamed. You are too. I know it. You love them. Even if you don't love them, you're going to watch it because it's the world's most famous family. And they give us a look at their intimate family empire. And this season does not disappoint you guys. We have the Lord is back. Mm-hmm. We spoke. They listen. The Lord is back in our lives. We get to hear Kim talk all about her divorce from Kanye. We get to hear about Chloe's surrogacy. She even drops her baby's name in the first. first episode. I mean, Kendall and Kylie are even giving, okay? They're driving around a six-shift vintage porch around California. But most importantly, you guys, we're going to get the biggest drama that there has been in years, which is between Courtney and Kim. We all felt the tension. We knew something was going down. I for sure was like something's happening between these
Starting point is 00:39:26 sisters. And we finally get to see why it has to do a lot with Courtney's wedding. I think Kim did a partnership with like Dolce Cabana. She kind of stole Courtney. these thunder with the Dulcicabana thing and it kind of brings up all their issues because corny basically says in the previews like this is what you're about calling her greedy you know only cares about business she calls a family relationship superficial i mean chris is spinning so don't miss this season uh of the kardashian season three new episodes on thursdays only on Hulu. I want to tell everybody, if you have a Wikipedia to Andy, under your personal life, it just talks about your kids. I feel like every celebrity would die for that to be there.
Starting point is 00:40:12 You know what I mean? I know. My Wikipedia page is fucked up, though. It's all incorrect. I don't know. Well, we need to get on that. Yeah. How did you remain so private, like relationship-wise? Because it literally is like- Well, I haven't had a lot of long-term relationships. And my last relationship, it was a few years and it was maybe ended five years ago and I kept it under wraps and then a friend of mine posted a group photo of all of us on some boat together and tagged my ex and the Daily Mail saw it and then did like Instagram journalism and figured out that he and I had been in the same places a lot and they busted they busted him wide open. And I was kind of bummed for him because he wasn't out to his dad and press started
Starting point is 00:41:05 calling his dad at home. You're more protective of the person. I was protective of him. Yeah, because I'm fine with it. I mean, I feel like, I feel like the next person that, that I fall in love with. But you never, like, posted like a photo. I didn't post us because that was his preference. And so I just respected that. So you would be open. to like sharing that. Yeah, sure. Like the right person. Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:41:30 Unless the person was so thirsty and they were like, I mean, I think there's a, there's a date. There's a date in the Daddy Diaries where I went out with someone and the next day. And he took a selfie of us. And then the next day, he asked me why I didn't post the picture and asked me to post the picture. And I was like, okay. And I said, why is that important to you? Like, what is that? to you. Oh. Would you rather than a person not know you? You know, it's funny. I'm on Raya and
Starting point is 00:42:03 Tinder and most of the people that I swipe on either play it so cool or truly are not necessarily major housewives fans. I don't think you have to be though a housewives fan. Well, but you could know me but you don't have to be a fan of me. Yeah, that's okay. I'm just saying I don't feel like I wind up. Does anyone admit it though? Is anyone like just honest like, oh my God, Sandy? Yeah, no, sometimes, yeah, sometimes they do. Okay. Do you appreciate that more? I appreciate anything. Okay. Yeah. I got you. Yeah. I just want to tell you something. Yeah. I used to think you were intimidating. Oh. I don't anymore. Good. I'm very not. Do people tell you that, though? I don't. I think some people, I don't know. I think there might be some housewives that are intimidated or I'm very, I can come off as very all business or in my.
Starting point is 00:42:57 own zone. Yeah. But I'm not, I was fully cooked before I ever became famous. There's this thing that you are the age you were when you got famous. Right. That's what they say like people. That's what they say. Right. Exactly. So I got famous in my late 30s or something or early 40s. So I feel like I had been living in New York. I mean, I took the subway to work today. Like, I'm not, you're not live in that. I can. I love being bougie, but I'm not I'm not, you know what I mean? I'm kind of still
Starting point is 00:43:31 who I am. Yeah, I think that's when I told you about the influencer thing before, you know, I'm obviously not on your level, but I feel like age to me is such a, I'm like I'm so happy, I'm 35 and I'm not like, you know, a little toddler. No, it's important.
Starting point is 00:43:48 You like are more of who you are. There's no guidebook. We've gotten, we've made to hundreds of people super famous at Bravo. And there is no guidebook for how to be when you get famous. And it's very easy to lean into being a complete douchebag. And so I think that you're, you know, getting into this when you're later in your life is helpful because hopefully you already have your values and you're like, okay, let me get a check of myself.
Starting point is 00:44:21 And by the way, my friends and family totally keep me in chat. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're like, calm down. Right, exactly. Wait, I'm super excited about your book, so it's out already. Thank you. It is out on May 9th. Oh.
Starting point is 00:44:34 Yeah. Okay, wait, people have come out. It's out already, Andy. Yes, my book is out. I'm on book tour, and I'm really excited. I really think people are going to love it. And by the way, it makes a great mother's thing. You know what?
Starting point is 00:44:46 I'm going to read it, and I don't read a lot. It's, by the way, it's an easy read. Oh, good. Exactly. I mean, it's a diary. Yeah. So it's not like, you know. Yeah, I love that.
Starting point is 00:44:56 I feel like you'll know every person in the book and every restaurant and every, you know what I mean? That's so fun. Yeah. The last book I read was actually Kelly Rippa's book. Oh, that was a fun book. It was a fun book. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:07 She made me want to get Botox because she did a whole talk about it, by the way, everybody. She was like, don't you want to look refresh? I'm like, I want to look for me. So before I let you go, because you're a busy, busy guy. A couple games of Fuck Mary Kell. Okay. A little really basic bitch game. I think you've heard of it.
Starting point is 00:45:22 Yes, we play and watch what happens all the time. Oh, right, you do. So, but like with shows. Okay. So, Puck and Mary Kill, Houses of New Jersey, Summerhouse, Vanderpump roles. Jersey, Summerhouse, or Vanderpump? Yeah. Okay, I'm gonna kill Summer House.
Starting point is 00:45:36 Yeah. I'm gonna marry Jersey and Shag Vanderpump. Okay, I love that. Okay, next one. It's hard with shows. I know, but I feel like your answer really made sense. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:48 Winterhouse, Southern Charm, Roney. I'm gonna marry. Roney, because that's my show, I'm going to shag Southern Charm and kill Winterhout. Okay, okay. And last one, but with people. Usually the newest one is going to get killed. I got you. I got you.
Starting point is 00:46:03 I got you. I am a nostalgic person. Yeah, I could tell. I've known those SummerHall. I've known those Southern Charm people for 10 years. So, yeah. I love Southern Charm, by the way. It's one of my shows.
Starting point is 00:46:12 Okay. These are people, so we get to know your type a little bit. Okay. Since we don't see any of the video. John Mayer. Okay. Brad Pitt. Yep.
Starting point is 00:46:20 Petro Pascount. I'm going to shag pit marry Mayer and kill Pedro. There will be an army after you for killing Pedro. Well, excuse me. Who am I supposed to kill of that three? You're shagging Brad. Yeah, but I'm going to, you know, if I marry mayor, that means I shagging every night. Oh, and you and Mayor love each other, right?
Starting point is 00:46:37 Yes. Okay, that makes sense. He is all over my book. Oh, really? Oh, yeah. There's a lot of John Mayer. Okay. Pedro Fiscal is out.
Starting point is 00:46:44 How do you feel about the love that Pedro is getting? Good for him. I know. Isn't that nice, though, that all these like over 40, over 50, the actors are, like, getting all the love? Yes. Yeah, you're not bad about it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:56 You're like, whatever. Yeah. Okay. Last thing just about Vanderpump roles is, is this the most insane coverage of the show has ever gone on the Bronco? I think it's the most sustained. You know, if you look at when Jen Shah, you know, was arrested, that was huge. If you look at the Salah, he's crashing the state dinner at the White House, that was
Starting point is 00:47:20 major sustained coverage. But this is big. Erica Jane was major sustained coverage. So there have been big. Teresa going to jail was major sustained coverage. But does this feel like, because people are starting the show
Starting point is 00:47:35 from the beginning right now? Yes, I know. You guys like see it in the numbers. Like, whoa, popping on. I mean, look, Wednesday nights on Bravo are very much alive. Watch what happens live. It's had a significant boost on Wednesday nights.
Starting point is 00:47:48 Certainly, yeah. Wow. And who would have thanked you guys? you guys. I know it's wild. Just last season was like... I know, it was, you know, we had a couple seasons that were kind of growth seasons or, you know, they were not the greatest.
Starting point is 00:48:03 Yeah. And this was a big rebound season. Is it wild to be like happy that it's happening, but also feel like that? Well, I mean, I don't, I wouldn't say, I'm more kind of amazed that it's happening. Yeah. There are real people there. I think that people who, you know, I, I don't. Tom Sandoval made a mistake that he'll probably regret for the rest of his life.
Starting point is 00:48:24 Yeah. He is still a person. Yeah. You know what I mean? It's gotten out of control. It's out of control. I hope it's kind of dying down for his sake. I almost want to be Team Sandoval just because not really, but I almost do just because when the mob is mobbing.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Right. Exactly. Yeah, exactly. Look, he's a real person. He did something really stupid and hurtful and Asana. and just every word. He didn't kill anyone. Right.
Starting point is 00:48:54 So what he did not commit a crime. That's what I'm trying. I talk to people about this. Like why is it so? Right. It's not a big deal. What is this exact? Because I think it's this exact recipe that happened.
Starting point is 00:49:07 I think it's that this cast is so incestuous already. And it's he's done it with with Ariana, one of her best friends. Yeah. And while she's also been flirting with his best friend. Wait, but you know what I think add to that? What? People don't really like Sandoval. And I feel like it just like, oh, we knew we fucking didn't.
Starting point is 00:49:31 Right, right. But they're really a reason. Yes. And now there's like this huge like fucking reason. Yes. Anyway, Andy, what a fucking dream that you came on my podcast. Thanks for talking to me. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:49:41 Thank you. I appreciate it. Congrats on the Fresca collab. Thank you. Congrats on your book. Thank you. I'm excited for the name drop. me talk about it. Yeah. I appreciate it.
