Starting point is 00:00:00 The following podcast is a dear media production. Welcome back to the not skinny bonafat podcast. I'm your host, Amanda Hirsch, and I still can't believe that I get to chat with some of my favorite stars on my very own podcast, where you'll feel like you're just talking shit with your best friends in your living room. Hello, happy Tuesday. Welcome back to not skinny bonafat. I am Amanda, your beloved host, the host you're obsessed with.
Starting point is 00:00:35 No. Just kidding. How's everybody? I hope everyone had a good weekend, a good Father's Day. I am just going to, okay, I posted a Father's Day, Funny Father's Day Real. I think funny. Some people are like, oh, poor thing. And I'm like, no, I'm actually fine.
Starting point is 00:00:54 It is funny because people without dads, if they had like a shitty dad, a deadbeat dad, I guess it's different if the dad died. But people think, like, that's daddy issues. And then if you have, like, a healthy, marriage to look up to, like, parents that were together your whole life and, like, a good father, then that means automatically you don't have daddy issues. Now, I have to tell you that from my experience and people I've seen around me, it's not true. I swear, Ziz, like, I made good choices in men, like, my whole life, I swear, and I don't even have, like, fear of abandonment. Like, I didn't,
Starting point is 00:01:35 I didn't get that. It might be ingrained somewhere. else the daddy issues. Like, I don't know where, but definitely not. Like, I don't like, never went for older men, never one for toxic guys, never had a fear of abandonment. Like, so I don't have daddy issues, weirdly. And I do know friends that have seen marriages that are great, kind of have, like, a reverse daddy issues. Like, nobody's good enough. Parents' marriage is, like, the Holy Grail. They, like, hate their husband because their husband can't deliver what their dad delivered and other stuff. Like I just feel like,
Starting point is 00:02:12 I don't know the exact psychology about it, but daddy issues isn't always like, you don't have a dad, you're fucked up. You know what I mean? Especially if in my situation, like my mom made up for it fucking tenfold. Like my mom was the best mom, the best dad,
Starting point is 00:02:28 and overdelivered on all of that and gave me the most... Like, if I had a dad, I would be less confident, less of who I am today. Do you know what I mean? Like, it's because, not this, it's in spite or despite. It's in spite to look that up on me having a dad that I'm, if I had a dad, I'd be insecure.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Do you get what I mean? Like, I just feel like, thank God I didn't have a dad because my mom told me how beautiful and great and talented and smart and whatever I was. And if I did have a dad, maybe that wouldn't be the case. Or maybe, I mean, if I had my dad, that wouldn't be the case. By the way, he is alive. He's just a fucking deadbeat. And I, it's funny, I used to swear on him all the time when I was little.
Starting point is 00:03:14 Like, I had a sense of humor about it since I was little. Like, I obviously am not swearing today. When I was, you know, 11, I used to be like, I swear, I'm a daughter. And I was like, I don't care if, like, you guys, do you know what I mean? So it is dark, but I used to have someone to swear on and lie about it. So lucky me, I really took the, oh, my God, the kid screaming is insane. Anyway, that kind of relates into today's pod in a way talking about parenting and being a mom
Starting point is 00:03:46 and being a dad and moms and dads and all that because about a couple weeks ago, I saw that Jenny Mullen was trending on threads. I like went onto threads, which could be... threads havoc, okay? Threads equals havoc. Like, it started all innocent, and now when I go into threads
Starting point is 00:04:04 is because like wild shit is happening on there. And I see, like, like Jenny Mullen, yellow arrow trending. I'm like, what did she do this like crazy bee? I texted her. I was like, Jenny, what happened? She's like, oh, my God, like you didn't see. So anyway, found out what had happened.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Jenny posted a photo that people got very pissed about. And she's here to talk about it today. We get into it. And I think it's an important conversation. I also think that if you know Jenny Mullen, you know that she could be a whack-a-do. but she has a big heart and she's a great mom
Starting point is 00:04:39 and a great writer and she's funny like she's not doing stand-up comedy but like her whole brand is being funny and saying funny things and talking about parenting
Starting point is 00:04:48 in that way she recently went through divorce with Jason I was going to say Sadecas the shows we're close guys no we are with Jason Biggs
Starting point is 00:04:58 so lots happening in her life and she's here to talk about it I follow her because like gross Jenny Should I unfollow? Unfollow. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:09 I just comment back before. I do this to people. I literally make people. I'm like, open your eyes. Jenny. Amanda. You're back. My birthday twin.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Is this the second or third time? I mean, I don't know. We've had so many of these. We've had a lot of these. When you had me. I came to your like, well, yeah, because before dear media could like make us a nice place, we were podcasting like, you know, out of the backs of cars. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:35 How are you? Is that going to make the pod? Yeah, yeah, Dear Media loves a shout out. No, no, dear media loves a shout out. Okay. Whatever kind. Any kind. Any kind of shout out.
Starting point is 00:05:45 All press is good press. Well, I was like, you need to come on the pod because I wake up one morning. And I mean, I saw the news about you and Jason, but literally the arrow on threads was like Jenny Mullen trending. Yeah, you called me. You're like, what did you do now? Like, why are you trending? What? And the first thing I said was like, congratulations.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Like getting the fucking yellow highlighted arrow. You're crushing your life. It doesn't matter for what, but you're trending. You're trending on threads. Well, let's go back. How are you? I'm good. You're good.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Yes, I'm good. Good. Read between the lines. I mean, somehow you're like, you do always like smile through it all, I feel like. Yes. I'm resilient. Yeah. You are resilient.
Starting point is 00:06:33 And I think comedy is just like my. coping mechanism. Of the craziness. Just like, yeah, life. I feel like if I can't laugh at it. Like, I definitely want to have a death that's funny. You know what I mean? Like it needs to be a good story.
Starting point is 00:06:47 A death? Like you. I mean, even in death, I want it to be fun. Like how you've thought about it. Yeah. I want to like have them be like, no, you're fucking kidding. Of course that's how Jenny goes. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:06:59 Well, I don't know. You're Jewish. So I can't, like I feel like we're too superstitious to talk about death. All right. Let's not. Let's avoid that. You know what I mean? I'm like a knock on wood.
Starting point is 00:07:07 It's maybe my mom, because my mom's a shick, so I can like, I can straddle that line. Well, you announce your divorce. Yes. Well, no, I didn't announce my divorce. Okay. Okay. You told him what to post it. No.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Did you not? No. I thought you gave her the exclusive. No. Okay. You called me and said that. Oh, I did? I can't keep up with me.
Starting point is 00:07:30 Yes. Oh, you didn't give her the exclusive? No. Did you take to your Instagram in the end? and confirm you haven't done that. No. But there were headlines. Yeah, there's like a lot of headlines.
Starting point is 00:07:41 There are a lot of headlines. It's not fun. Are you thinking to talk about it at some point? No. No. I don't think so. I thought you were, I thought maybe like in your... I mean, is it me?
Starting point is 00:07:53 I would be talking about everything. I see. You're trying to be respectful of all... Yes. Of all parties. Yes. Okay. Well, Jenny, it seems like you're currently single.
Starting point is 00:08:04 I am, I'm single. You're single. But the first time in 18 years, like, what is my life? What does it feel like? Let me live vicariously through you. It's surreal. Yeah, I feel like it's really bizarre because,
Starting point is 00:08:18 well, also, like, you've kids with somebody, right? So people will be like, oh, you're, you know, how does it feel? And I'm like, I don't know, like the same. Like, we live in two different places, but we're still tethered. We have kids, like, we still talk 18 times a day about everyone's schedule and after school and holidays.
Starting point is 00:08:38 And so there is like this element of like, it isn't like a normal breakup where you're like, see ya. Right. And then maybe we'll bump into each other in 10 years and talk about it. It's not like that. It's just the end of the romantic part. And it's still like romantic. I mean, we still love each other.
Starting point is 00:08:54 It's just not, I don't know, it's a different type of romance. It's like your best friend. People took it hard, right? Yes. Because you are a couple, we're a couple. Yeah. That people would never, I don't think if they, you know, played bingo, they'd be like, this is a couple. I predict, well, won't stay together.
Starting point is 00:09:15 Right. Right. Were you getting DMs and people are upset? No, that's the weirdest. That's the weirdest thing about going through something like this and when you've been like in a public relationship is that like it doesn't feel it's, it's not like a death where people just write you or they're like, I'm so sorry. Do you need anything? It's more like somebody's attending. your wedding and you have to take care of everybody else. You're like, are you okay? Can I get you a drink?
Starting point is 00:09:37 You know, people are like, I don't know how to feel. I'm so sad. And I'm just writing like, I don't know you. I'm so sorry. Like, I'm sorry for your loss. I'm so deeply sorry. Because people want to believe, but you, I, people want to believe in love. And if people think that they know that this couple is a good one and a normal one, like, for Hollywood and for this And they're like, this is not the couple that breaks up. You know, it like, it ruins their dreams. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:10:06 Or like that's, that's where it's coming from. People want to believe in love. Yes. And it is, and we love each other. And like, it is a solid relationship. And like, we have always been amazing co-parents and, like, teammates. It's just, you know, I don't know. I mean, you're married.
Starting point is 00:10:24 You understand. I know. I know. I could, yeah. I mean, marriage is, I mean, I don't like to say like it takes work because that would be fake of me. Like, it takes more like patience. Yeah. Really whether it comes naturally, naturally that you are not learning how to like accept the other person.
Starting point is 00:10:44 Yes. Work with them. Work around them. Like regulating the room, keeping everybody else like emotionally stable. Like, basically Mel Robbins let them. Like, I've done that before her. I'm letting everybody. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Let them. Let them. You're letting me right now. Yeah, I'm letting you like, let them. Let them do. I'm not one of those like, you know. Yeah. But I think at the end of the day, yeah, it's, it's marriage is a friend. You're not a codependent in that way. And not in that way. I am dependent on like, can you bring me? Can you pick me up? Can you wait for me outside? Yes. I'm dependent in the like literal sense. Yes. But how does it feel like to you. Can you put my clothes on? That's how I am with my assistant. Can you dress me? No. What am I wearing today? No, we need to talk about your. So, yeah, my husband is a little bit of my assistant, I would say, too. Well, yeah. I love an assistant. You love any kind of assistant. I'm just like, I think like my ideal partner is like, yeah, like somebody who's just going to like sit in a dark room and read everything I've ever written. Tell me how amazing I am.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Give me all the things that like I didn't have as a child. What can you talk about in terms of how you're feeling now being single? Like, are you embracing that? part yet or are you still like focusing on the kids? I'm still pretty focused on the kids. Yeah. I don't know how to be single. I don't think I, I feel like if I start dating someone, I'll be like, I'm your wife now.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Because I don't actually know. Right. And the weirdest thing I've been talking to people about like being single today is so, nobody's like actually having conversations. They're all staring at their phones. Right. They're all fucking like, I don't know. playing this texting banter that there's nothing behind it. It's not real.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Well, are you going to date the chef from Oresh? Oh, my God. First of all, that you go every day. People cannot get a reservation and you're flaunting this restaurant every day in your story. Yes, I basically live at Oresh. It's true. And they have a pop-up on this weekend if you want me to get you bagels with all the spreads. Yeah, Nadav has been a good friend of mine since, like, you know, he was at Shmona. Oh, right. And by the way, Nadav's wife has also been to my house. I've given her Chanel jacket. Okay. So like, I feel pretty safe in that relationship.
Starting point is 00:13:00 I see, I see. Okay, I didn't know. He was married. Yes. I haven't done the deep dive. Yes. I know. I said,
Starting point is 00:13:04 Nadav, everyone's going to think that we're like fucking in your like freezer. And you're like, no, I just love the restaurant. No, I'm just in it for the for the Hamachi Crudeau. No, people don't understand. No, he's amazing. He's like a good friend of mine. Like, I think people know that you're like a kukalook. Yes.
Starting point is 00:13:23 But like you truly are. Like when I talk to you on the phone and you have like a crazy story every other day. Yes. I'm like, you need to be on reality TV. Like we need to have camera, Andy and a camera. Following me. The papers. She wakes up in the morning sometimes.
Starting point is 00:13:39 She goes and knocks on Dr. Orrin's fucking office and it's like, let's do some tits. Like you did that. Let's just do some tits. Didn't you do that with your mom? I, my mom had like a facelift. Right. Or like a corrective whatever. And he did my boob lift.
Starting point is 00:14:00 Right. It was boobs. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But you just, I feel like wake up in the morning and that's my opinion. Maybe I'm like,
Starting point is 00:14:06 let me get you an appointment for like six months from now. I'm like, how about in 10 minutes? Because now I'm here. I'm ready to go. And I need to be bumped to the front of the line. Would you do reality TV? Oh my God. The problem with is this.
Starting point is 00:14:18 Like I've been approached a lot. Yeah. And I always say no. One, because you know how neurotic I am about. the kids. Yeah. Showing the kids. And two.
Starting point is 00:14:26 Right, you don't show the kids on Instagram. Never. Never. I'm not going to show them on, um. I can't show the kids. I can't like tell their story for them.
Starting point is 00:14:32 They're going to tell their own stories. But also I don't, I'm a writer. Like if I don't have control, if I can't fucking tell you, okay, this is what's going to happen in Act 1. And this is how we're going to play it out.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Like that's why the Instagram for me is just incredible because I'm in control. In control. Yeah, you wouldn't be able to be not in control. And they're like, let me just film you and then we'll tell you who you are, fuck that. I can't do it. So what did they approach you for, Roney?
Starting point is 00:14:57 A lot of different. A lot of different things. Yeah. So secretive today, Jen. I can never do it. You can't. No, it's not for you. I'm only secretive because I feel like my mother hen is watching. Mother is watching. Who is who is? Mason, the mother. Mother will be mad. Why would mother be mad about Bravo? I don't know. He just doesn't, he's just like, just shut the fuck up. Jenny, stop. Wait. First of all, if he would say that about this podcast, like, what does he say about your Instagram. Oh, yeah. Not great. Not suitable to even tell you on the podcast. We'll be right back after the break. When life gets busy having one lesson to worry about and think about, that's always a win for me. And that's why Starbucks Frappuccino chilled coffee drinks are such an easy grab and go option. And also when I see them at like
Starting point is 00:15:48 the grocery store or the gas station, I just feel like home. Like the Starbucks logo gives me, home vibes. I'm like, like lost in the middle of the forest. I'll see a Starbucks chilled drink. I'll be like, I'll sleep here with the drink. Thank you. So, I mean, for me, it's like I'm running for meetings. We'll pick up podcasts or just need a pick me up.

Starting point is 00:16:39 Like, I am not suffering. Okay. I'm sorry that I'm not a black, you know, coffee drinker. I need it. I need it creamed and I need it sweet. You can find Starbucks Frappuccino chilled coffee drinks in the coffee aisle at your local grocery store and keep your fridge stocked for whatever the day throws your way or just grab one and go and get the hell out of here. Starting point is 00:17:09 I recently, like Leo is 13 years old, my dog, my little shitsu, and it's wild. Every time I remember how old he is, I can't believe it. And his eyes recently have acted up and looked a little cloudy, then a little red had to run with him to the animal hospital. And thank God that I have ASPCA pet health insurance program because I didn't have the worry, you know, on top of being worried about his eye, is it going to lose an eye? Is he okay? Okay, let's go into Instagram. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Because this is what I called you about when you were trending. I didn't really even know all the drama about this. fucking post. Yeah. And I thought that what you said on the phone to me hit so true and hard. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:56 And we talked about you writing a piece about it. Yeah. And I was like, come on the pod and say this because I think it's really important. So let's talk about how it all started. You posted a photo with your kid.
Starting point is 00:21:06 Yes. You're hugging in the bed. Yes. Call it whatever you want. Hugging. Embracing. Topling. Whatever the fuck.
Starting point is 00:21:15 Yeah. Caption was your oldest. Your eldest child will be the most toxic guy you ever date, which is true. Okay, those were the exact words. Yes. People don't then twist it or anything. Which if you have a son, you fucking know that.
Starting point is 00:21:30 And let's, okay. And I can explain what that means. Did you notice from the beginning that this is going on like the wrong side of Instagram? This is being taken. Like you could tell right away, right, when the comments are crazy. Well, I think Caroline, not to throw Caroline under the bus, but somebody attached my, my Instagram to my Facebook.
Starting point is 00:21:49 Okay. And Facebook is a different demo of humans. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. And I think that that's where it started to like get this weird traction. But. Because the Instagram people know you, follow you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:03 It's like this is the joke I've been making forever. Like I'm in this dysfunctional relationship with like a guy who's like, you know, can you hold my head while I like vomit into the toilet? Can you wipe my butt? Can you give me a full body massage before bed? Yeah. Can you, you know, be a deer and put more ice in my water? bottle. Like, this is the treatment. Or Noah who grabbed my butt and said, there was a lot of
Starting point is 00:22:24 fat on this butt. And I said, you're not wrong, Noah. Yeah. So yeah, another example, right? Just like, use and abuse me. And I'm still like, is he going to call? Like, I was never that girl. I've never been in that kind of relationship. So I already think of is he going to call in 20, 30 years. I'm not even is he going to call today. Right. I'm worried about him not calling. No, I'm going to be banished to voicemail for all of eternity. And I'm just to be like, I'm going to keep psycho-dial. I'm going to be like girls sending texts. Are you mad at me? Like I am going to be my worst nightmare.
Starting point is 00:22:55 And this is a joke. Let's just say it again. And I, you know, that I love your writing. Yes. And I followed you for years even before we met. And this is part of your humor. This mom. I mean, dictator lunches.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Yes. Dictator lunches. He's the dictator. And I live in this like autocratic regime. Okay. Where I have to like, you know, it's like thumbs up or thumbs down. Like off with my head. If I fucking serve you sunbutter.
Starting point is 00:23:19 You know what I'm saying? So what do you think made people take this the wrong way? The caption? Or they thought like the hug was... I mean, what do you think said people up? I think they thought that maybe the hug looked lascivious. I'm not sure. I don't think they liked the caption.
Starting point is 00:23:37 Toxic. I think toxic got in some sort of algorithm search. And you're probably reading about being like abused. And then you see this woman like embracing her son. And they're just like, what the fuck? You know, they couldn't. handle it. It threw them over the edge. You were getting, people were saying they want to call CPS on you. And my sister had the
Starting point is 00:23:56 best response. She's like, somebody should call CPS on me for ordering my son Taco Bell for dinner. Because that is like, what are we talking about? What are we talking about? And by the way, if you knew my son, like, he's really the predator. You know what I mean? He's the one who's fucking all over me. I've been like trying to like lock him out of the bathroom for like the last 12 years. No, the bathroom is crazy when he just wants to go to the bathroom. So, but I do think it has to do Yes, this was very important. When he said this to me, my mind was blown. I think that, like, if I had made this joke a month ago, two months ago, it would have played
Starting point is 00:24:29 differently. When you were married. Because, yeah, and I'm still married, but like I was publicly like with a man. And I think that there's something about a woman who is not attached to a man that somehow reads as a threat, dangerous. Like, she's... Prasol, this is really important what you're saying, because stop and think about it. Jenny has never gotten shit about this subject.
Starting point is 00:24:51 She's been making the same joke for years. Wrote for fucking Parents Magazine in a standing column. Like I've been like a voice on like motherhood in a lot of ways. That's like what my platform was built on. And you've been making this kind of joke forever. And the fact that the first time it gets taken in this twisted way. Yeah. And people are calling you intense shit.
Starting point is 00:25:14 Like I mean, they're extreme. No, they're like, we hope that Jason gets custody if you're a child. No, it's crazy. We think that you are a pedophile. You're disgusting. Sending my sister DMs, do you molest kids to? Out of control. Out of control.
Starting point is 00:25:31 And then I die. They're like, Jason Biggs is a estranged wife. I'm like, I'm literally sitting next to Jason. I'm like, I guess I'm your strange fucking wife. Like, it's like the picture they paint is. But these are people that don't know you. I feel like once it gets in the algorithm. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:47 You're not in control. You're not in control. People that know you, it's like a community. It's inside jokes. Yes. Once it's on the Algo, it's on the FYP. On the Algo, I'm going to use that. No, you're fucked.
Starting point is 00:25:59 You're really fucked. I was like, this is, it's already there. Like, it's in the, and listen, I read your stuff and like you said in one of the things, which they were getting pissed about, there was a line that was like, his girlfriend isn't even hotter than me about your son. Like, it's just hilarious. It's just funny. And then it's like, she's comparing.
Starting point is 00:26:19 And I'm like, wait, do these people want stand-up? Like, these people go to comedy shows and then every joke a comic is making. They're like, right, right, right, right. Yes. You were making a joke. Fucking joke about, like, the way that you can spin over somebody that you love. Like, nothing more, nothing less. But it is crazy.
Starting point is 00:26:39 Like, it's crazy. Because, like, when your body, when you have, like, it's like my, I had a chaperone, right? I had, like, like, I was attached to a man. There was something like, I don't know. And maybe that's not what it is. Maybe people just read it in other ways. I think there is a connection because you're right. You have been posting this for years, joking about it for years.
Starting point is 00:26:57 This is the first time you posted something like this about your son, one of your sons, while people have discovered that you're no longer with a man. Crazy. And then they're associating. They're sexualizing, moralizing. They're reading their own shit into it. and saying, yeah, this woman is a threat. How did it, when I called you said you were really upset.
Starting point is 00:27:24 You called me. I think I was like, I had just been like crying. Jason had come over and was like, you know, do you want me to say something? And of course, like, I don't want that. I want, I mean, I want to stand. You know me. Like, have I ever kept my mouth shut about anything that I believe in? I go so hard.
Starting point is 00:27:42 My publicist called and she's like, you know, do you want to give a comment? and I thought at first I did want to. And then another friend of mine said, you know, don't comment. Like, just write something. Yeah. And I thought that was, like, really good advice. I needed that advice in that moment. So I didn't just, like, give a sound bite.
Starting point is 00:28:03 And I just, like, went back and, like, went ham. You rode for your substack first. What did you call the piece that you wrote for this about this? I think I said the love that breaks us. Something like that, yeah. Because I do think it is like a relationship where, you know, it ends with you alone. Like it's scary to get into a relationship, you know, that's going to end with you. Which is a relationship with a son.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Alone. Or, I mean, it could be any relationship that you know it's like it's not supposed to last. Not all relationships are supposed to last. And this is one where you're like handing your heart over to somebody. You're like, yes, hurt me. And I, you double down by the way. Peace, first of all, you say there's something devastating about realizing your children can survive without you that they can be content somewhere else, happy even, and the security once felt being their entire world was never meant to last. There is a mom that doesn't connect to this, like, I don't buy it.
Starting point is 00:29:02 You wrote, when I look at that picture, I see a 12-year-old boy who still wants his mother and a woman trying to hold on to closeness and a connection at a time in her life when everything else is changing. Yeah. Yeah, because it's like, you know, the other. you know, side of that piece is like, this is the first time in my life. I don't have my kids like sleeping in my house every night. I mean, there is like something so hard and like heartbreaking about that, like to get your head around. Like, this is my new normal. So like, yeah, I mean, to have to my, for my son to still like want to hold me. It, it means so much right now. May they fucking hold us until we're like blue in the face? Right. Yes. I. I mean. I.
Starting point is 00:29:45 know. It's crazy. I don't, I, maybe some people don't have that kind of relationship. I mean, you know, we've talked, the thing that started circulating, you know, I don't know if you know this. Oh, is the kiss on, I know. Well, Regina let me know. My Caroline let me know. She's like, you know that the, they're tying the two together. They're tying the two together. You came on my pot a while ago and said that you and your dad kiss on the mouth. Yes. Which people thought it was weird then, but they're tying it into. And I said it's because we're Jewish. but how are they tying it together? I think they're just saying, like, see, she was clearly molested.
Starting point is 00:30:23 Which kills. You know, so I did shoot this series based on my first book with ABC years ago, and Alan Thick played my dad, and I had the fucking funniest scene at the end where I was like, I love you, dad, and we kiss on the lips, and I was like, I told you the director, Nancy Howard, I was like, hold on the kiss. Hold it till it's like so long and fucking awkward and uncomfortable. So we shot that scene. Yeah. The, you know, I'm sitting there with Jamie Tarsus. We're watching the cut. And, like, we get a call from ABC and they're like, we can't air this episode unless we like shorten the kiss. It's so weird.
Starting point is 00:31:01 Oh, long with a quick kiss? Like, 20 seconds. It was like long. And I said like, then don't air the episode. Because it's so fucking funny. Like, if you don't have the long kiss, it's not comedy. Yeah. So we didn't air it. You didn't air that. It was the last thing Ellen Thic ever did before he died. No. So guess what? And you got to kiss him. That's on ABC's hands. And you got to kiss Alan.
Starting point is 00:31:20 They robbed Alan of like that performance. He could have. Wait, what was this show called? I like you just the way I am. It was based on my first book. And it was on ABC. On ABC Digital. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:31:31 Yeah. When that was a thing. Yeah, it was fun. And Busy played my sister. Busy played your sister. It was really fun. Yeah. And you were supposed to do something else.
Starting point is 00:31:41 Another show. No, another show. Remember what's her name? That. that's who love. Diego Pablo. Oh, with Diablo. Oh, well, Diablo was producing
Starting point is 00:31:51 the city of... Diego. Diego, Cody. She would actually love that. I'll actually tell her that you said that. I called her Diego Pablo. Oh, you got to have her on.
Starting point is 00:32:00 She's so good. She's fun on a pod. You were working on something with her. We sold City of Likes to Sony. But I sold City of Likes as a... I sold that. They optioned it before the book came out. Isn't that crazy, you guys?
Starting point is 00:32:12 This is how the industry works. Yeah. You sold you? your book before it even came out. So this is like, let's equate it to like the bell burden selling strangers. Right.
Starting point is 00:32:21 But hers is just getting like that fast pickup, right? Of like, when it's a tauter, uh, yours was also sold as are many, right? And then what it's kind of like stuck in the... Then it's like you're in development or you're, you know, pitching different.
Starting point is 00:32:38 It's like if that's the studio for it, you know, actually we weren't doing it as a film. where we, now I don't even remember. It was a one hour. Then you're pitching to networks. So then it's like, once a studio buys it, then you go out to networks. And then it's like, it's like just building the package.
Starting point is 00:32:54 Is it going to happen? No, I don't think so. You don't think it's going to happen? City of Likes. I don't know. I mean, I don't know. I've moved on. You've let it go.
Starting point is 00:33:04 Are you, you working on something else? I have two other things right now. Yeah. You're working on other stuff. Yeah. Well, let's, I want you to say everything you want to say about the scandal with the Yes. Did you delete it? I don't know. Maybe it's up. Maybe it's not. I'd have to ask Caroline.
Starting point is 00:33:22 Was it a decision? Like, I feel like if I was in your position, it would be like. So the night it was happening, I was, I was talking to somebody and I said, I'm in the middle of this situation and I know it's going to go, I can see right now. You know, because I've been in enough of these fucking weird scandals over the course of my career where, like, I can tell you this is going to pick up and this is going to be a thing. And I'm going to feel like it's the end of the world because I'm the person in it. But really, it's so small and it's gone. It's so ephemeral. It's just fast. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:52 So I knew it was going to happen, but I couldn't take it down because then there's that part of me that's like I get so indignant and like stand so firmly and like what I believe that I'm just like burn me to the fucking ground bitches. This is a picture of my fucking kid. I'm not taking it down. That's what I would think. I'm doubling down. I'm going to post another pick just to annoy you. And so then my sister-in-law was over there. And we just started, you know, going off.
Starting point is 00:34:18 Posting stories, right? Right. In your stories, you were talking about it. Yeah. And I always talk about, like, I had a scandal happen where, like, USA Today. No, no. It was like the Today Show. This was back when I had Sid, okay?
Starting point is 00:34:30 So this is like 2014. And I was posting from the delivery room, like just the way everybody does these days. But back then it was like, weird. Fucking like, whoa, she's oversharing. So the news cycle was, can you believe this mom? She's oversharing. She's such an oversharer. And so the next day, it's like a normal person
Starting point is 00:34:49 will probably like take the note and adjust. And I double down with a picture of Howie Mendel, my OB from L.A., holding my placenta. And I said, I don't know if this is considered oversharing. But I think my placenta looks very young and hot in this photo. And it's just this bloody fucking... No. Come at me.
Starting point is 00:35:11 Fucking... Sorry. How did you... get this, like, secure with who you are? Because, like, for example, you know the viral video about you talking about kissing your dad. Yeah. People are going fucking ham on it. And you're like, you brought it up right now. I'm like, I don't care. Yes, I kissed my dad. When he's dead, I'm going to be like, thank God, I kissed him so many times. How are you, how do the, the trolls and the, like, negative? How do they not seep into your soul? I know. My sister says, like, how are you not like,
Starting point is 00:35:44 you know, because sometimes I'll post something with so much conviction and I'll see like that annoying comment you're expecting. And as much as I'll say like that's so annoying, I'll be like, wait, was it? Did I, was it mean of me to say? You know, like, I'll, I'll start overthinking about it. Does that not happen to you? Hmm. No. I mean, no, there are things that I freak out about, but my things I freak out about are more like, did I, like, betray my child somehow. Like, is this picture, am I, am I using this person, you know, for my own gain? Like, or, you know, I do, I do, you know, I've written a lot about extensively about like, exes in my life. Yeah. And it's like, I feel badly that sometimes it's like, yeah, I also,
Starting point is 00:36:32 like, want to be liked. And so it's like, I feel like, you know how it's like they're like, let sleeping dogs lie? I feel like my motto is I'm like, okay, wake the dog, teach it to talk again. make it tell me that it loves me and then shoot it in the head again. Like, that seems to be my pattern. I don't know why. But, like, it's like I want to burn the bridge down, rebuild the bridge, then, like, think of something funny to say about it, burn it up again. I don't know. I just think that I don't let this, the haters, the haters, like, actually, I think they almost, like, rile me up more. Like, they make, they ignite something in me that makes me go, now I really believe this. Like before I like was on the fence,
Starting point is 00:37:13 but now I fucking really believe this and I'm going to like force it into you too. I mean, the Israel stuff. With the, what, with that stuff yeah, I also had to calm you down there. You had to call me on the phone and say stop posting straight to camera. You're going to get
Starting point is 00:37:31 shot. And I think about this situation, the Instagram post, it is so far. It's not like, okay, I posted yesterday how why are hotel check-ins at 4 p.m. Like it makes no sense. I was thinking about it. I was like, how does this make, who is landing?
Starting point is 00:37:48 What is, why, why can't they figure out a system? Yeah. And then, you know, I get the comment of like, well, the cleaning, you know, that it made me sound like I was like anti-cleaning people. I hate cleaning men. And have no respect for them or their time, which is obviously not at all that I met. That's what you said also when you called me that morning. I don't.
Starting point is 00:38:12 Before you hung up, you let me know. So for me, that can make me think, like, wait, was I not showing respect for cleaning people in this post? I'm just trying to give an example. For you, there's no part of you, I'm assuming, that sees these comments that are calling you these names like a purve, a petto. Yeah. And you're going, let me think about that. That might be true. Like, you know that it's like.
Starting point is 00:38:33 I'm like, nobody's more afraid of predators than me. Like, literally, I won't even, I never let my kids, like, sleep out. I was like, everyone is a child molester until proven otherwise. Like, even my friends, I would not. I was so, I'm paranoid. Yeah. It is just wild how you never know how something is going to be received. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:53 And especially because of the algorithm, if it was to your people. Yeah. I don't think anyone of your people turned on you. Do you get what I mean? No, my people are like, have you met Jenny? Right. Have you followed Jenny? Right.
Starting point is 00:39:06 Have you followed Jenny? You're insane. Like, she said so much. more wild shit than this. Way worse shit. Like, don't go back is what we're saying. Like, don't. Oh, that's what I told you on the phone.
Starting point is 00:39:16 That's the thing. This is what I told her on the phone. Go, you say it. You say it. I'm like, Jenny, you go back. Start deleting everything because there's such worse shit you've said. I was like, there's such worse shit. This is fucking nothing. And they're going to find it, Jenny.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Yeah. I was like, they're going to fucking find it. And they're going to realize what a real whack job you are. That is so funny. And I guarantee you didn't do that. You've always been. No. I mean, no, actually I did have Caroline go back.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Okay, good. But you know what's funny? I feel like you are always there in these moments of my life. Like, it's, when I think about these, these times I've been in, you pop up. You pop up and you're like, Jenny, you got to do this. Jenny. That's sort of sweet. I'm really like you're. You are. You're so sweet in that way. Because you're a real person. Like people who listen to your show, I think they know that. But like, just to like double down on that, like, you are such an interested person. You, you listen to people in a way that most human beings don't and and most people like lack the capacity to do. But I genuinely feel that you care about people. Yeah. That's like such an insane quality to have. Did this change your future posting? Like is it going to make you take a like are you going to think about like, wait, can this caption be taken in
Starting point is 00:40:29 any other way? Like do you think it's going to affect that? No, I'll tell you the two things that are affecting like my posting is like my separation and then also my kids ages. because now I do feel like I'm accountable in a way that like, it's like I can post myself like, you know, when you're married, it's like you can flirt with anybody. It doesn't matter because it's not real. You can get away with just shit. You can look like crazy because they know it's like you're married.
Starting point is 00:40:56 You're not like out like doing shit. It was that I think that before you said that to me, I wouldn't have thought about it that way. But it totally makes sense now. Yeah. But then when you're not married, you're like, whoa, she's fucking like fucking everybody. I mean, you and you said this about Nadav.
Starting point is 00:41:11 Right. Because it's like it does come across in a different way. So like that I'm watching post like I sell a shit ton of like bras and underwear. Yeah, you do love a bra and underwear moment. I get like, yeah, I make a lot of money off it. Wait, are you getting DMs from guys now? I mean, no comment. I'm careful now.
Starting point is 00:41:34 I don't want to appear. disrespectful. Yeah. And then I also don't want anything that my kids are going to go, why did you share that about me? So-and-so told me at school that you, whatever. Has that happened yet a situation like that? I had to tell my kids. Because they're older, right? Are they? How old? Since, I'm like, who are they? No. Where am I? Since 12 and last, it's eight. 12 and 8. 12. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Some have phones you were saying, right? Yeah, mine don't. But, yeah, I know. You said you're going to be the last. I'm the last one. You wrote the book, the Jonathan book, you co-wrote it, no? I co-wrote that. Just like I co-own a rush. You co-own a rush. You co-wrote.
Starting point is 00:42:18 I just sort of like insert myself into your life and then I just take over. I'm like, give me the wheel. We'll be right back after the break. So I love having a sparkling water at my fingertips in my home. And I always look for ones that have great ingredients. And spin drift, because it's made with a real fricking fruit, it has way less of all of those, okay? And it is flavorful.

Starting point is 00:47:21 And I am just a comfort first girlie. Like I live in loungewear. So I love my crocs. Like crocs, shoes are so comfortable. You can wear them all day and you forget you're wearing shoes. You're like, am I at a spa? Am I walking and getting a foot massage? I just like a slip and go situation.
Starting point is 00:47:42 Like I'm always on the run. My life is crazy. So I don't have time to like tie shoes. Like there's no time for tying, okay? I love that I can grab them on my way out of the door and never have to sacrifice convenience or style because I think they look so darn cute. Okay? fight me. Crocs shoes come in so many fun silhouettes. Some are more elevated. Like right now,
Starting point is 00:48:06 my new faves are the classic crafted clogs, which are made with 100% soft washed canvas. Okay. I love these so much. I feel like they elevate the crock a little bit. Like you can wear them with, you know, jeans or slacks. And then you see like kind of the front and you don't have those crocks holes. So you can't put your little gibbets there. Okay. But if you like to keep it simple and enjoy the embellishments. You can wear the classic buckle clog. Okay, it comes with this cute buckle that's a little oversized and it adds just a touch of elegance to a classic shoe. There's even a gibbet's charm for anyone. Visit crocs.com or a store near you to find your perfect pair of classic clogs. And we're back. So you co-wrote Inxious Generation. Yeah. And 12-year-olds have
Starting point is 00:48:56 phones now. I seriously don't know what's happening. Do they all have? phones? Everyone in my son's grade besides him. Oh my God. So is he upset? Yeah. He's like, I'm not cool. Like, don't you understand? Doesn't that matter to you? I was like, no. I don't want you to be cool now. If you're fucking cool now, like your life trajectory fucking sucks. You need to be not cool right now. And you're already a privileged white kid with like a famous dad growing up in Manhattan. Like, enough for you. You need some bad shit to happen. So do you say that though? Yeah. You do. Does he get it? Yes. Yeah, he gets it. Oh my God. I want my kids to like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:31 Get it. So like get it. I'm like, you need a fucking struggle. You need to feel what it's like to like fight against something. Yes. I'm thinking about that because I'm like my mom made me work. Yeah. My mom made me like.
Starting point is 00:49:42 Like since I was like 14. See, I think that's great. You know, and like I think it totally is what taught me. Right. Like value of money. Yeah. You know? Because she was like if you want something, you work for it.
Starting point is 00:49:57 Yes. Tell me that. you know. And Jason's always like, I love that you're like, you've such this like crazy like work ethic for your kids. He's like, but your dad like paid your rent forever. He paid for your college. He bought you your first car. And I'm like, yeah, but my dad has such guilt around money that it just like through osmosis, I have that too. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel shame about like taking anything from anybody. And with your kids, you feel like you have to like. Shame them. Like, I want them to feel massive guilt when they asked me for a 25 fucking dollar basketball card that's going to get like dismantled in their bedroom in like, 10 seconds. I know. I know. I didn't do a good job of that. I didn't. I did the like he'll order something
Starting point is 00:50:36 on Amazon like without asking me. I'll cancel it. But like he doesn't get it. I need to do a better job of this. I won't let them. I won't even let them buy like Robux. I'm like there. My Roblox story is amazing where it's like I was like, they just want your money. They're using you. And then one day I joined Roblox myself for an account because like, you know, there was like Sid Biggs and then like Sid Biggs's mom. So I could like go through this like world with him. And then. him within 10 seconds, I bought myself like a mega mansion and a sports car. And he's like, you fucking said I couldn't send any money. And you just dropped like 30 bucks so that your house is nicer than mine. Did you ever think to do comedy for real? Like stand-up? Right. I'm like friends
Starting point is 00:51:13 with too many real stand-ups. You just hung out with Chelsea. I just saw Chelsea. She posted a story. Was it inspired by you at all a little bit? I think so. Because she was talking about just like doing the right thing. Yeah. Women. She was saying women supporting women in a cooler way. She didn't say women support women. She was just like, stand up. Yeah, she's like stand up because like, you know, the women that came before you would be like ashamed of you if you don't. Yeah. And I think that's so true. Yeah. It's like, have some balls. Just to put a pin in the in the Instagram post, the view was talking about it. The view did. See, I don't even know. The view talked about it, Regina. Who was on Jenny's side? She's like none of them. No, one of them. One of
Starting point is 00:51:58 One? Oh, fuck. Which one? And Whoopi was like... Wait, whoopi loves me. That's crazy. Whoopi was not on my side. Okay, hold on. Guys, Whoopi loves me. Does it say this? Somewhere? Okay, it says the views. Whoopi Goldberg puzzled by Jenny Mullen's controversial post with her son. I'm distraught. Whoopi turned. She turned. This is where you...
Starting point is 00:52:21 Next time I'm there. She's going to have to make her love me. Wait, you would be so good on the view because everyone's such a whack-a-doodle. Like, what's one more. You know what I mean? They need one more. They need one more Wackadoo. Oh my. Is Joy still over there? Yes. I think so. Is Joy there? Joy loves me. I have to have Joy at least on my side. I can't believe Whoopi turned. Wait, so. Oh, that. She like was indifferent, but she like didn't defend you. And the others defended her. Do you want to watch the clip? Yeah. Oh, I don't know. I don't want to see. Whoop was puzzled. That's what it says. Puzzled isn't bad. Everybody knows that. And I didn't have a problem with the picture at all. I mean, if that were a mother hugging her daughter, would the reaction have been insane. I think it was the top of the thing. I think it was a grabby caption. But it was a grabby caption. But I think, you know, moms and boys, we do have a certain relationship with them. And there's nothing wrong with us.
Starting point is 00:53:16 Yes, it goes from being the center of their world to handing them off to someone else. So she was saying they're never going to do. Me neither. Me neither. Me neither. I love that. That's Whoopi. She doesn't get it. Whoopi doesn't get it. Okay, Whoopi doesn't get it. No one was hating. The first lady that talked is a mom of boys. And she said something, by the way, that we didn't talk about.
Starting point is 00:53:38 Yeah. We didn't bring this up. Yeah. This wouldn't happen if it was your daughter. Right. I know. So who's sexualizing what here? No, completely.
Starting point is 00:53:48 No, I was with a girlfriend last night. She's like, you know, I was pregnant for the last nine months. I don't know. I need to clarify. And she, in her mom's French, and she's like, you know, I would just be, like, naked in bed every morning. My mom would just come spoon me and hold my belly. And I'm like, if I, like, did it, wrote that. Like, I'm like, this is mothers and daughters, right?
Starting point is 00:54:10 We're naked around each other all the time. There's nothing weird. Yeah. And yet, like, fully clothed. Hugging your son. Yeah. That's like, just like a little spider monkey on me and I'm in trouble. I know.
Starting point is 00:54:23 If you could sum this up. And now this is like, get away from you, molester. Just to like, fuck with me. Wait, does he know the drama that does he miss? He knows? Yes. You told him what this cause? Well, so he knows.
Starting point is 00:54:36 I mean, he knows. He's like, yeah, he was there that night when like, Shara was like going off. My Montessori school, you know. That's why I need to meet him. I feel like he sounds like such a vibe. Honestly, he would be a killer interview. Yeah. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:54:52 So if there's anyone listening that doesn't know you, you know, doesn't. doesn't see things clearly. They're like, we're puzzled, fucking puzzled now. They're like, whatever whoopi feels, we feel. Yeah. We'll be really surprised at best when she said, I'm fucking puzzled. I mean, that wouldn't offend you. Puzzled.
Starting point is 00:55:12 No. Puzzled is fine. I'm like, you have to have a son to understand. They called the caption Grabby, by the way. Would you agree with that? Isn't that good? Grabby? It grabs your attention?
Starting point is 00:55:21 I think that's, yeah. I think that means like, right, you want that. Isn't that the whole point? Right. As a writer, like, Grabby's a compliment to me. I mean, I don't want just like a basic blessed hashtag. Right. If you did hashtag blessed, yeah. The post would have gotten no engagement. One like.
Starting point is 00:55:41 Me. I would have liked it. Okay, so you feel good about everything we talked about. Yeah. Really at the end of the day, like, take everything with a grain of salt and sense of humor. But it's like, there is a real blame on struggle. Yes. And it's not even like, do I want a little girl to braid her hair?
Starting point is 00:55:58 Do I want to? No. It's like, no, we know the trajectory of what it looks like usually. Yes. For having a boy. And everyone tells you, they're going to leave you. They're going to marry off. They're not going to care about you anymore.
Starting point is 00:56:11 And you kind of have to want that for them as well. Right. I mean, whoever gets it is like really in for a fucking treat. But like, it's a lot. It's like a demanding relationship. But yeah, I think that. Right. You don't want to not have them have that.
Starting point is 00:56:24 So you're like. What about me? It's a mind fuck for us. Yeah. I'm like, I have to want to give you to someone else. Right. And so I think it's something to joke about, something to talk about, and something that.
Starting point is 00:56:37 I said it's like the longest goodbye of your life. First of all, stop. That makes me really sad. I'm sorry. I'm going to bring you to tears right now. And that's the other thing. Like, I've thought about it so much. Like, I wouldn't want to date a mama's boy, but I of course want my boy to be a mama's boy.
Starting point is 00:56:49 So like, you know, like would I want to date somebody who is obsessed with their, Mom? No, you don't want to date a guy that doesn't have a good relationship with his mom? Let me tell you. But like, I would be okay with good relationship and like call her twice a week. You know what I mean? Yes. But I don't want that. I would want my son to call me every day and be obsessed with me. At the end of the day, you become their mom in like a marriage relationship, whatever. It's like, then you're like, great. I'm going to be trying to undo the knot of like whatever it would happen to you. But that's what makes me sad because I want to be the mom forever. I know. I know. That's what I'm So Pete Davidson made a joke. I haven't done stand-up in five months because I just had a baby.
Starting point is 00:57:29 It's a lot of fun. I just got a little girl. It's weird having a little girl. It's hard to watch porn in front of her. He continued for adding, I still did. I power through. So not funny. I don't even get the joke.
Starting point is 00:57:42 I think the joke is the dot, dot, dot. Like it's hard to watch porn in front of her. Okay. Not like it's hard. The delivery. Yeah. Yeah. Because I think it was supposed to be like it's hard to watch porn now that I have a
Starting point is 00:57:54 daughter, but he meant in front of her, not like in general, because I now have a kid. Okay, okay. So it depends on the delivery, but yes, this is. I mean, the way you're delivering it. Puzzling. To quote, what they go for? Do you like my stand up? Amanda, you should do stand up.
Starting point is 00:58:14 It's weird having a little girl. Oh, it's hard to watch porn in front of her. That felt like you were trying to seduce me. And it's working. Well, yeah, I hadn't seen this circulate a lot. But yes, men, especially comedians, can say fucking anything they want under the guise of stand-up comedy or I'm a comedian or I'm like funny. Yes, it's so true. Which is crazy.
Starting point is 00:58:39 It's really. I know it's, I talked about this when I did a pod with Claudia. And it's like, I never wanted to be like, you know, women supporting women or like have this be a feminist pod. Yeah. But like, you only have to open your eyes a little bit to see like, you know, The world hates women. Right. And also women hate women, which is like the saddest part.
Starting point is 00:59:00 Right. Because most of the hate I got was from women. Right. It wasn't guys writing me. And it's like, it was like moms. And it's like, imagine it was guys writing you? You horrible. Wench.
Starting point is 00:59:13 Well, let's move on from this. Okay. I feel like we've healed. We've healed. Are you feeling good about it? Yeah. I feel great. As soon as I like write something and like take control of a narrative, then I feel like...
Starting point is 00:59:23 You're done with that. Yeah. I'm ready to move forward. Okay. I want to talk about some things that happened since we last talked. Okay. First of all,
Starting point is 00:59:30 I feel like we hadn't talked about the ambulance situation. Oh, yes. That you also posted, by the way. Yeah. Baby, you posted a picture of you in the back of an ambulance. Yes. That was like, what, a year ago?
Starting point is 00:59:45 That was about a year ago. Yeah. What happened there? So, well, now I don't actually know. I have to be honest. Like, I think that, like, I, I was on a bunch of peptides, taking a bunch of peptides. You know, I have my hyperthyroid.
Starting point is 01:00:01 Okay. Is hyperthyroid the one where? Well, I have like, of course, this is so Gemini and so me, I have dueling thyroid autoimmune issues. Okay. I have Hashimoto's and graves. So it's like, it's like. Oh, I have Hashimoto's. I think like every Jewish girl does.
Starting point is 01:00:15 But it's like, you know, dueling banjos within my body. So sometimes I'm like wired from it and other times. You're sluggish? I don't know. I don't get sluggish though. Yeah, I haven't seen you sluggish. Wait, so you're wired because of your thyroid? Often. Really? Well, I've done crazy things I won't even get into when my thyroid has been hyper. Like, fucking crazy things. That you're blaming on the thyroid being hyper or like, no, like I wrote an immense to somebody that I shouldn't have. And you know it's because of your thyroid being. How do you know? I just think it was like I was in the throes of my thyroid
Starting point is 01:00:49 being hyper. I'm like, why did I do that? Why did I feel such guilt? I needed to like write an immense. to somebody. I'm not even sober. I'm like writing amends letters. And once I sent the first one, I'm like, I feel amazing, so absolved. My side of the street is clean. You know, it's like... Okay, first of all, I don't think thyroid makes you do that. No, I swear. No, it does because you're so, your anxiety is like at a peak. Wait, and that's when it's low or high? Hi. And Jason, you know, being in AA was like, you should just write an amends. And I was like, perfect. Then I started sending them off to like anyone when I could think of. Like, high school boyfriend that I made a fake Facebook page for, ding, sorry, you know, like random person. I mean, I was like, who else can I send a men's
Starting point is 01:01:30 to? This feels great. Wait, so. And then a lot of them backfired. So, peptides for the thyroid? So peptides to reduce inflammation because it kind of got it so that I could be off of the medication that I needed for the thyroid, which I believe it did, which is like, it's called methamazole. and it's illegal in France. You can only have it. The thyroid man. The methamazole. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:54 They only give it to cats who are trying to like gain weight. I'm like, great. So when I was out of it once in Paris, I had to put up an Instagram post being like, does anybody have a cat? Wait, so you were taking. With a hyperthyroid. I'm not kidding. Wait. So I was taking a bunch of peptides.
Starting point is 01:02:14 Yeah. And then all of a sudden, it really affected my period. I had, I got off of it to do. I don't know what it was, a colonoscopy, something. I did, and so I had to get off the peptides. When you say peptides, you made GLPs? I had GLPs, but I also, I had a number of peptides. Like what everyone's doing now, you already did then.
Starting point is 01:02:32 Yes, guys, finger on the polls. Whatever one. Your kids. Take a photo. Post it. Like, what everyone. Do as I say and do as I do. Like you were doing this before because like, okay.
Starting point is 01:02:44 It wasn't cool then, yes. I brought it to the forefront. Like everyone, no, but it made you fucking. Just like I wrote. Opamine nation or what's the book? What is the one we're saying? The anxious generation. Yes.
Starting point is 01:02:54 But you took too many peptides. You collapsed. No. What happened is so I was off of them and then I got back on them. And I think my body reacted. I was suddenly having the craziest period of my life where. Oh, you were like hemorrhaging. Blood clots.
Starting point is 01:03:09 Like I remember running to the bathroom. I felt like I was like laying an egg. I was like something's happening to me. And then I run to the bathroom. This is like graphic. Can I say this? Yeah. And I,
Starting point is 01:03:18 and I look, like, I, like, pulled down my pants, and there's literally, like, a blood clot, like the size of, like, a basketball, like, huge. And I start screaming because I'm like, it's like, I'm like, I'm like, after school special. I'm like a high school girl who didn't know I was pregnant. I'm like, I thought it was like alive. I was like, and I called Jason and I'm like Jason. And Jason, like, the best part of Jason is that like, Jason doesn't get calm when I'm like, Oh, he gives you the same energy?
Starting point is 01:03:45 Yeah, he's an actor. It's like, yes and. He like meets me there. So we're both like, oh, my God, screaming, looking at it. We don't know what it is. It's like the beating. It's like an egg. It's like beating.
Starting point is 01:03:56 It's the scariest shit I've ever seen. And so then I'm like, oh my God. And I just come from my OBGYN. So I was like, Sassoon, I think something's happening. He's like, okay, you're fine. Maybe get an IV. You'll be okay. So I'm sitting there.
Starting point is 01:04:10 I have an IV person come over. These blood clots, they keep coming for the next like eight hours. So by the time I'm getting into bed, I look at Jason. And I'm like, I really think I've lost a lot of blood. And like, as a guy, he's like, you're fine. And you fainted. He's just like, it's like a period. What would be wrong with her?
Starting point is 01:04:28 Yeah. And I walk to the bathroom and all of a sudden I'm like, boom, out. And I pass out on the floor. And then I'm screaming, Jason. I'm like, I'm unconscious. I'm having a basal bagel reaction. I'm on the, you know, because I mean, of course I am a doctor's daughter. I think I can like treat myself.
Starting point is 01:04:44 I'm having a basal bagel. You need to like call the fucking. ambulance. He's like, Jenny, our son leaves for camp. First thing in the morning. He is, we have to take him to the bus. We can't leave right now. We don't have a nanny. Nobody's in the house. We can't go to the ER. I was like, I have to go to the ER. So he's like, okay, well, I'm going to we, I'm going to get, we're going to go on an Uber. And I said, I don't think I can move. And he's like, Jenny, I'm not having a fucking like paramedics come into this house right now. You need to get up. But I'm like, Jason, I can't. And so he starts walking me to the front door.
Starting point is 01:05:17 And I like, I faint again. And now I'm like passed out cold, like on the living room floor. And so then he knows. Like, I have to, I have no choice. I have to call. I have to have the full thing. And so then next thing you know, I'm like strapped to a wheelchair. I'm being like gurneed out of the dormant.
Starting point is 01:05:34 I'm like, goodbye, Miguel. Good luck with your life. You know, they put me in the fucking ambulance. I'm white as a ghost. I can't deal with it. And I'm like driven away. And guys for the next, for the rest of that night, it was absolute insanity.
Starting point is 01:05:50 I was checked out of the hospital at like 6 a.m. taking Uber back to the house. And as I'm walking through the front door, SIDS comes out of his bedroom, you know, like my little like spoiled house cat. Yeah. And I'm like, hi, hi, honey, rip the thing off. He had no idea.
Starting point is 01:06:07 Any of it had happened. Are you ready to go? To camp. Put him on the bus and I literally. But what do you think happened? Like you said your body. I think it was a combo. I think it was like being on.
Starting point is 01:06:17 stuff and then not. I think it was also like, you know, just like my hormones were like fucked from it a little bit. But it was scary. But I want you to be careful with those things. Can you can you do that for me? Yes. I'm much, I'm much tamer now. Okay. Because you don't need to be like dying. No. I know. And it's scared. So my, so many doctors called me. They're like all these moms who wanted like a hot Hampton's mom summer like are afraid to take their GLP ones because you just bled out on the fucking bathroom floor. But it is scary. I was just hypothesizing, guys. I'm not actually sure it was that.
Starting point is 01:06:50 Right, you're not sure it was that. Right, because if you just fainted from like, you weren't eating enough, but it was blood, but it was blood. And I never had blood clots in my life. I mean, that was just crazy. And they didn't at the hospital make a correlation with anything? I mean, they often don't.
Starting point is 01:07:06 They speculated, but then they put an IUD in me. And so now I'm on birth control for the first time in my life. Perfect timing. I guess. I guess. Did you film and post your labiaplasty on Instagram? Do you have to ask? I did. Yes.
Starting point is 01:07:29 Okay. Well, by the way, in Jill Cargman's movie, was that inspired by you? There was like a labiaplasty. No, Jill told me about this place where you can go and they'll basically, they pull your blood, they take your PRP, they inject the PRP into your gym. spot and your clit. And you orgasm on the chair. This podcast is like off the rails. You, well, no, you don't orgasm there, but like, then you have like crazy orgasms
Starting point is 01:07:55 afterwards. I just got it done. She told me to go. I was like, okay, I mean, I'll do anything these days. Wait, wait. I mean, the labiaplasty you posted on your Instagram. Yes. But that was only, and honestly, like, the timing of that was horrible.
Starting point is 01:08:12 It didn't mean for it to like line up with like, Oh, it lined up with the news. Okay. The reason I did that, again, I'm impulsive. I was with my OBGYN, who clearly I have, like, a deep relationship with Dr. Albert Sassoon. Jenny doesn't like save content for later, you guys. No. She's not putting it in drafts, okay? There's no drafts. It's in real time. It's going up. Yeah, it's going up immediately. Yeah. And I don't have casual relationships in my life. I'm like, either close to you or I don't know you. Yeah. And so I, Sassoon was like, I had come back from Austria and everybody had like,
Starting point is 01:08:45 the same vagina. Because you saw all of theirs. Yes. And, you know, I remember when Jason and I got married, he was like, wait, you only have like one vagina lip. Yeah. I was like, he's like, and I didn't realize that. I just didn't know. I mean, I hadn't ever really like gotten into the mirror. And so I told so soon when I got back from Oscar, I was like all my friends have the same vagina. I want it. I want one like that. Like I don't need to be unique in that way. So he's like, fine. I can do it on my life. I can do it on my life. I was like, fine. I can do it on Monday. And I was like, all right, fine, Monday. Did it come out like you wanted it to? Caroline's like, I can't tell the difference, which is annoying. I was like, really wanted it to be like,
Starting point is 01:09:26 I don't know, different. Yeah. Can you tell the difference? I guess. I mean, I don't know. There wasn't a big issue. It was just more like a fun story to tell and a thing to do. I know. You really, I mean, I said this before. I'm addicted to the story. To the story for the plot. I will follow it to like the fucking ends of the earth. Jenny, I love you. I love you. Thank you for coming. Oh my God. Thanks for having me.
