Starting point is 00:00:00 The following podcast is a dear media production. Welcome back to the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. I'm your host, Amanda Hirsch, and I still can't believe that I get to chat with some of my favorite stars on my very own podcast, where you'll feel like you're just talking shit with your best friends in your living room. You guys, today, we might have. just pop right into the episode, not only because I'm so excited about the guest, but because I am feeling like shit. Okay, let me be honest. I know I might sound amazing and refreshed and cute
Starting point is 00:00:41 and not tired, but boy, I am. Breastfeed, they say, it's good for your baby, they say. He won't bite you and give you mastitis and make you feel like you have the flu, they say. Blame my mom, honestly. These formula babies, you know, they just, I see them and I'm like, I get it. I get, I get it. And I know formula baby moms will be like, no, like, they're still annoying. They still don't sleep. But like, we look at you with like this little envy of like, oh, you could just pop out a bottle, you know, and not have your kid fucking vie for your boob in the middle of the restaurant.
Starting point is 00:01:14 That's nice. But really, it's like when you're dealing with stuff like this, you're like, uh, uh, anyway, my status aside because shut the fuck up, Amanda. I am so excited about today's episode because I absolutely love this. actress. It's Megan Fahey. Yes, you know your lover from the bull type. You know her and you love her from White Lotus season two. And now she's currently in the new movie, Drop, which is with Brandon Skelner. I think I said that right. Atlas, okay? It's Atlas from it ends with us. Just such a cutie. But she's so gorgeous, so amazing, so talented, obsessed with her, died over her that,
Starting point is 00:01:56 you know, that last scene in White Lotus. We talk about it. We talk about this new movie Drop, which is like a crazy kind of thriller situation. And she's just so cool. She's so light. She's so down to earth. She was in Birkenstocks because she got a little stuff in her toe. But I just love her. I just love her.
Starting point is 00:02:16 I'm obsessed. You're going to be obsessed. Can't wait for you to hear this one. Megan Fahey is on the pod. You guys go see her new movie. It's called Drop and it's already in theaters and it's perfect for date night. You'll hear. why. I tell her. I tell her in the app. We also talk about turkey bowls and meal planning
Starting point is 00:02:35 because, you know, you know me. Anyway, Megan Fahey, everybody enjoy. So good. I was thinking about when we were growing up, we didn't drink water. We were fine. Definitely not in a way where I was like aware of it. No, think like at school. Did you bring a water bottle? No. I don't think I did. You went to a water fountain. But kids now do. No, no. I have I have kids. So my son, I literally like pack his bag, water bottle. This is the only thing I put in his bag. Yeah. It's like, wow, we used to like drink from fountains.
Starting point is 00:03:07 Yeah. But I, we call them Bubblers in Massachusetts. You guys say stuff weird. Yeah. Yeah. We're calling. Bubblers. Where are you from?
Starting point is 00:03:15 Here. Are you from here? Yeah. Wow. A real one. That's cool. Yeah. What town was your like, you know, like, were you a kid in?
Starting point is 00:03:26 Like what little name? Right in New York, so I was in the Bronx. You're in the Bronx? Like J-Lo. Wow. In a different area. But people know that, right? Remember that video of her walking past her old house?
Starting point is 00:03:39 I felt so bad. I'm a J-Lo. I'm a protector. Let her walk by the bodega. Let her get a sandwich. No, this was like when she goes by her old house and the guys, like, who are you? Right, right. Yeah, no, I know.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Everyone was hating. I was like, I don't remember the bodega part. Do you remember the bodega? No, I don't remember the bodega. Like she said something about... Oh, yeah. And everyone said, we don't know. It doesn't exist.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Yeah. For J-Lo. She just wants to be loved, you know? Yeah. I love her. I do, too. Oh, my gosh. Sorry if anybody just heard that.
Starting point is 00:04:11 Is that a bur? Yeah. Like an inner one? Are you hungry? Or are you... Post food. I ate this morning. I'm going to eat after this.
Starting point is 00:04:23 Okay. I'm looking forward to it. What are you going to eat? We're going to bar preemie. Bar preemie. So definitely Aruncini is on the menu. Oh, you're going to do a full Italian vibe. I mean, it's Italian, girl.
Starting point is 00:04:37 And what did you eat for breakfast? But it's coming up for you a little bit now. I know, but it's not like a cute breakfast, but I got something from Starbucks. Oh, what egg bites? I got the turkey bacon egg white thing. You know, my favorite thing used to be the chicken, spinach fed wrap. It's gone. But there's a different one.
Starting point is 00:04:56 There's an egg white fed a one. Wait. That's the one that's gone. It's like 160 calories. Yeah. And by the way, delicious. And everyone loves it. Why do they do that?
Starting point is 00:05:08 That's what I'm saying. So you did a different... I was forced into a different decision. I was eating full meals like the rest of us, you know? Yes. Love it. I'm kind of a three meal a day girly. Really?
Starting point is 00:05:20 Yeah, like square meals. What about a snack? Well, snack, yeah. I like dips. I'm really big on dips. Like hummus? Hummus. Hummus.
Starting point is 00:05:31 So you're a foodie a little bit? Yeah. Okay. Love it. Yeah. All right. If I burp up the turkey taco bowl that I had today for lunch already, way too early. Where was that from?
Starting point is 00:05:45 I ordered it. I can't cook. Can you cook? No. Okay. Can't either. So I'm on a health journey. Then I realize, like, where I get stuck is what do I eat?
Starting point is 00:05:53 Oh, my God. What do I make? It's a thing, right? So I'm trying, like, this meal thing. They send to your house and... I'm trying one of those, too. So this is actually a good, like, a nutritionist was like, this is super clean. This is super good.
Starting point is 00:06:06 And she was like, it'll look gross. Don't worry. It'll taste good. So I had a turkey taco bowl really aggressive for her. Okay. It was like 12. And it was good. It was good.
Starting point is 00:06:16 But did it look gross? Not that. I think when your bar is low. Yeah. You know, it's like, okay, I could eat this. Well, there's the mental thing, too, where you're like, This has all of the fiber I need and all of the protein that I need. Protein is all the rage right now.
Starting point is 00:06:31 I am trying one for the first time because I'm on set right now. I'm filming something in Atlanta and I'm almost 35 and it's like the first time it ever occurred to me that like I could eat in a way that supported my like energy for 14 hours. Yeah. Instead of just like eating Cheetos from the crafts table. Wait, so you're now on a journey. you're getting like a meal sort of thing there? Yeah, I'm trying. I'm trying it out.
Starting point is 00:06:58 Okay, good. I'm trying. I've actually tried three. Are you adding protein powders to like smoothies? No. That's a thing. Get into it. Are you doing that?
Starting point is 00:07:08 I'm doing it like right now. What's your review so far? That like I was eating no protein before. Yeah. And now I'm like, I need protein every meal. Like my meals were based on fat apparently two seconds ago. I was like, I'm having coffee with whole mail. I'm having cottage cheese that everyone's raving about, right?
Starting point is 00:07:27 You can do cottage cheese? Right now I'm off dairy, she says to be off dairy. I'm off dairy now. Wow. Cashew milk, you guys. That's really sad. If you need a good milk. I like cashew milk.
Starting point is 00:07:38 It's good. Okay. Enough about that. I could just talk about it. I know. Two hours later. Megan Fahey is here. This is crazy.
Starting point is 00:07:49 Hi. Thank you so much for coming. I'm so happy to be here. You're gorgeous. So are you. you. You're so good. Thanks. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:07:58 And your skin is really something to behold. Really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thank you. And such a fan of you, so I'm so happy you're here. Thanks. Did I have to ask. Back at you. Why did your parents put two ends in your name? And why is there so many ways to spell Megan?
Starting point is 00:08:15 That's the real question. Okay. What are we doing? My parents got it from a book called The Thorn Birds, which is apparently how they spell it in there. Okay. I've met one or two other people in my lifetime who have spelled it the same way as I do, but it's very rare. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:31 You have the E and the double N. You don't have the A, though. I have the A. The E and the A? I have it all. Oh, so you know the different places spell it. They're all spelling it wrong. Everyone's spelling it however they want.
Starting point is 00:08:45 Wait, you have the E, the H, and the double N. M-E-G-H-A-N. Oh, okay. The A there, not the A there. You don't have the first A. No, no, no, I don't have the first thing. Oh, yeah, that I knew. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:57 No, no, no. Okay. The Duchess has M-E-A, right? I don't think so. I think she has... You think the Duchess is M-E-G-A-N? I think it's M-E-G-H-A-N. One-N.
Starting point is 00:09:10 It's a very confusing. And they all sound the same. That's true. Same name. Same name for everyone. Yeah. You guys, it's the important stuff. See, you thought you were coming to a hard-hitting.
Starting point is 00:09:23 No. Oh, this is exactly what I was hoping for. Can we tell people that you're in Birx? Yeah, we can show them, too. Look at what a cutie. But not because heels hurt, you hurt your toe. I did, yeah, I hurt my toe, so I can only wear shoes like this. Well, luckily, it happened after the premiere and everything.
Starting point is 00:09:41 It didn't, actually. It happened before. So I had to wear, like, a surgical shoe. Have you ever seen one of those? Yes. They're so ugly. You had to? I had to wear one to the premiere.
Starting point is 00:09:51 Yeah, because I was afraid that in all the commotion, and somebody would maybe step on you, step on me. And I just thought, you know, like injury attracts injury. Like, once something is already a little messed up, then it just gets worse. They would step on you. So I wasn't willing to take a chance. So, yeah, I had to, I wore like. Wait in that beautiful bedazzled dress that I saw you on Instagram, you wore the boot?
Starting point is 00:10:13 No, I put the boot on just after that. Oh, got you, got you. Yeah, I did the carpet. And then I was like, give me the socks and the boot. Oh, my God. Poor baby. That's all right. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:22 It's not as rough show as, as rough shape as your toe. Oh, my rattle toe. Yeah. I told you about. You looked gorgeous at the premiere of Drop. Thanks. And your hair is a little darker. It's darker than it's been in a very long time.
Starting point is 00:10:37 I like it. Thanks. It's closer to my natural color. Oh. Like whatever the roots doing is kind of what my natural color is. Did you do it for like a role or just changing it up? Kind of both. But yeah, I, the director for the show that I'm currently
Starting point is 00:10:52 shooting wanted my hair to be like super different than anything else that I had done. And I was super down because it's always good to have a little bit of a break when you're a blondeie. It's very hard on your hair. So I was like, okay, cool. It is true. I have to say I did that recently. I died to my root. Like I told the lady, I was like my root and like a little more vibrant. Yeah. And that's what this is? It looks amazing. I changed back already. Really? So this is much lighter. It looks so natural on you. Thank you, because I am kind of light naturally. Yeah. I wanted to try the dark hair because I love the look, like, with your blue eyes and the dark hair, I feel like it gives a pop. Thanks. But I will say, like, I felt like, yeah, when you're, when you're darker, your hair is kind of
Starting point is 00:11:35 healthier. Yeah. So that's when I was like, oh. But your hair looks very healthy and shiny. Thank you. You guys, I saw a drop. Sorry. You saw it? Side, babe. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry, everyone. Well, it's out. It's out already. It's out. It's out. I took my husband to come see it with me. Oh, you did?
Starting point is 00:11:56 And we, it was such a perfect, like, couples movie to see together. I think so. Yeah. It's so fun. It's so fun. And he's, like, the worst of watching TV with because he's, like, foreign. So he'll, like, ask a bunch of questions. And he will not always track.
Starting point is 00:12:11 And, like, love that he, he tracked everything because it's all in text. You know what I mean? Oh, it's all up on the screen. Yeah. It was all on the screen. no he was obsessed he was like thank you so much for taking me and it's there's so much like of a thriller to it and you and brendon skilner sklanar fuck it's okay you're not the first person no no you guys made a whole real saying it no did we you were like making fun of i don't think that was me of how of maybe everyone
Starting point is 00:12:41 skeelnar well everyone says it wrong sklnar sclanar oh sclanar he's so cute he's great he's so lovely he's such a great person. I love that in the movie. So like you're on this date. Yeah. Mad shit goes wrong. What can you say about it? What can people know about it before saying it? I mean, basically the plot is just that this woman is a widow, widowed mother, single mom, who is going on a date for the first time in a long time and she shows up and it's like going to be going really well because they're clicking. But then she starts getting air drops to her phone and she doesn't know where they're coming from and they turn pretty sinister pretty quickly and then she sees that there is like a man with a masked man with a gun in her house her sister is babysitting her son and basically she's
Starting point is 00:13:33 getting texting if you don't kill your date we're going to kill your family and we're off from there we were watching it like with our like nanette open it's like the baby and like it was so surreal to like, that's like every parent's worst fear. A hundred percent. It's so triggering for parents because you're like with the monitor, it's open and imagine being away from home looking at your monitor or seeing. Oh my God, I think it's so scary. It's so scary.
Starting point is 00:14:02 Like when we were filming it, I couldn't see any of those graphics. So I was just sort of pretending. But then when I saw the movie and I saw the bit that exact bit where she swipes and nothing's there and then suddenly he's there, I was like, oh my gosh. God. So spooky. And it was so cool. I saw that you shot in Ireland. I was surprised because like it all happened basically at the restaurant. Yeah. So why'd you have to go to Ireland? Universal owns a studio there. Oh. So we built the restaurant on a stage. Oh, got you. And that, that was kind of why, but I love that. To go somewhere else and shoot. I love going
Starting point is 00:14:41 random places. It's like my favorite thing to do. And they're so nice in Ireland now. Best people ever. They're cool. Seriously like not just saying that like genuinely helpful like genuine people
Starting point is 00:14:56 I remember when I went there it was like gloomy and gross and cold but the upside was like the people it's like oh my God but the people are so cool very drama free too
Starting point is 00:15:07 I notice sarcastic no yeah but like very lighthearted about life and stuff in a way that is very admirable yeah at least that was my experience And you, you carried this movie. Thanks.
Starting point is 00:15:19 Like, it's all on, like, you're at the restaurant, you're getting the text. It's all about you, your reactions to it. What are you going to do? Like, running back and forward. Look, I mean, that was, it was a, you carried it. Yeah, it's a lot of FaceTime. A lot of FaceTime. It is.
Starting point is 00:15:37 And you had a stunt double. I did. Her name's Ifa. She was so cool. Was that the first time that you ever had, like, stunt stuff? Yeah. It was so much different than I thought. There was a moment where, yeah, I was not expecting that kind of action to happen in the movie, you know?
Starting point is 00:15:54 Totally, yeah. No, everything, even like the most simple looking things that we've all sort of seen in movies and stuff, I was like, oh, yeah, I feel like that's a natural movement or whatever. I'm sure that'll be fine. And then getting into, it's so different. Like, selling that kind of thing is so different than it, than I thought it was going to be. Yeah. But it was really fun. I liked it.
Starting point is 00:16:16 I would like to do more of it. To do more... Stunt stuff. Really? Yeah, because using your body that way, there's something so satisfying about that. Yeah. Like, it's so different than, you know...
Starting point is 00:16:30 And especially because on the film, I was doing so much, like, little face... Right. ...things that it was so nice to just get, like, out of my body. Right. And this was, like, a different kind of project than we're used to seeing you in. Yeah, I've never done something like it before.
Starting point is 00:16:48 Yeah. Which is part of why I was so excited about it. But yeah. And I heard that the concept came about because it happened to one of the producers. Yeah, the producers are at dinner in Italy. Yeah, none of the scary stuff, but the being out at a restaurant
Starting point is 00:17:05 and receiving drops. Yeah. And not knowing where they were coming from and then kind of engaging in like a fun. way, like, swapping back and forth. Yeah. And that's where they got the idea for it. Like, how cool.
Starting point is 00:17:20 Yeah, like that would be a really good idea for a thriller. And it's so true because I think that's one of the scarier things about the movies that it could kind of happen. Yeah. And, like, technology is crazy. Yeah, crazy. We'll be right back after the break. Let's talk about real food for a hot minute.
Starting point is 00:17:38 We all know we should be eating more real whole foods. But seriously, who has the time? time to make anything, okay, but actually to make sauces and dressings from scratch. Not me. And if you start paying attention to your ingredients in those kinds of things, you're going to be like, oh, no, unless it is primal kitchen. Primal kitchen condiments are so good, and they nailed the perfect combo of high-quality ingredients and delicious flavor.
Starting point is 00:18:06 So your meals will taste as real and as homemade as it gets. They're not just made from real ingredients. They're also made for real food eating. I really love their original buffalo sauce. So I have been making those jammy seven-minute eggs I've been showing off to you guys. So I love to drizzle that on top of those eggs with everything about the bagel seasoning. They also have an unsweetened ketchup made with real organic California-grown tomatoes. So if you're all about real food, but you need a little help making it exciting, you need primal kitchen condiments and sauces made with real ingredients we love.

Starting point is 00:19:12 I think I told you guys that I started working with like a nutritionist and one of the things I told you in our like intro meeting is like I love I need a bar. So we just started discussing different bars that I could implement my diet. And IQ bar was one of them. So when IQ bar came out with instant mushroom coffee, I was like, oh, I have to try this because it has amazing flavors. It's loaded with functional brain nutrients. And it has those 200 milligrams of caffeine for jitter free energy. So. this is natural caffeine. It's called IQ Joe and it has magnesium in it and lion's main mushroom in it and they have flavors like toasted hazelnut and vanilla spice. IQ Joe offers coffee shop flavors without the extra sugar. I love that. It's free from gluten sugar, soy and GMOs and it's certified vegan and kosher with over 20,000 five-star reviews and counting more people than ever are starting their days on the right foot with IQ bars, brain and body with seeing bars, hydration mixes, and mushroom coffees. I'm pretty serious about my coffee.
Starting point is 00:20:15 So when IQ Joe sent me their products to try, I was skeptical, even though I am an instant coffee lover. So coffee can be a big expense if you're spending every morning in the drive-thru or at a coffee shop. IQ Joe's instant mushroom coffee packs have the flavor without the high price. You see reels on Instagram. You see mom's complaining, like just trying to change your baby in the middle of the night, especially if their PJs or footies or whatever you call them have like snaps. Like, no, no, no. Nobody uses snaps anymore, okay. And then there was like, okay, zippers. That's great.
Starting point is 00:21:17 Zippers are easier. Great. You know what we have now in 2025, we have magnets, magnets, magnets, okay? No mess, no buttons, no zippers. Every time you change your kid is a game changer. It also makes a really good gift. It's just so great. But what I was going to say is, like, I use them for Lenny, but I also got a pair of, like, grown-up-looking PJs for Noah, which he loves because it's like a set, you know, like we would wear.
Starting point is 00:21:43 And he loves them so much. And they're also with magnets on the top, not buttons. So love that. Love that for him that he can feel like a grown-up and be comfortable and find it easy to close and open his PJs. So do what I did and make changing time easier for you and your baby. so you can spend more time on the things you love. Order MagneticMe today for yourself or as a gift for any parent. I'm having some help right now. I'm having some help. I got a cop to it. I can't lie to the people. Don't lie to people. I won't. Listen, we all got to keep up with the Gen Zs, you know? And see what's up. I mean, I've said this before, but like, honestly, if it was like, like make a reel or die
Starting point is 00:23:34 I'm dead that's a drop you get I wouldn't I mean yeah no I have no idea but you did like you do a lot of carousels like you post but just reels that's your yeah I mean all of it is like
Starting point is 00:23:50 stressful to me yeah like even posting things like finding the order for the photos and it's like really oh yeah you look so nice do you enjoy it do it like does it come easily to you like you kind of like My thing is the dump is like... Well, my feed is gross.
Starting point is 00:24:05 I don't think that's true. It's like, like, you have more of like a... You know what I mean? Like, if you just don't care the way it looks, like it's more freeing is what I'm saying. Well, that's how I've always been and that's what I'll go back to doing once I stop having help, which should be any week now.
Starting point is 00:24:22 Of course. That's stressing you out. It's stressing you out even having the help. No, what's going to happen is I'm just going to disappear again. You'll see. You'll all see. do you like back off of back off the internet
Starting point is 00:24:34 you like being you like being like mysterious and like no it's not even that I don't even really think about it like that it's just not yeah really does stress me out yeah thinking of
Starting point is 00:24:46 thinking about it's like you know the dumps where it's like here's a cute picture of me and then a picture of food and then a picture of see me but then another picture of me like I cannot figure out what that order is I don't think
Starting point is 00:25:00 I think there is an order, Megan. I think you're wrong. I mean, yeah, if you're trying to be like the girl that pose the thing with the dog and the art and the beach. Okay, but don't be that girl. Be you. I mean, I am. Yeah. That's the thing.
Starting point is 00:25:15 I am relentless to me. I can't learn the new stuff. Okay. So we're going to, you're going to disappear on us. You're saying. And that's when you'll know. That she's fired. And your birthday's coming.
Starting point is 00:25:30 coming up. You mentioned that. So you're going to be 35. By the way, Wikipedia doesn't out wait, you guys, Wikipedia says this is how mysterious you are. Wikipedia says 1989 or 1990. That's what your birth year says. It says or. It says or. It's 90. It's 1990. Okay. That's easier. You always know how old you are. Yeah, exactly. So 35. And it's coming up, by the way, you guys. It's coming up. Really soon. Next week. Is it? I don't know what day it is. Today is April 10th. Wednesday? Today's Thursday.
Starting point is 00:26:06 We're doing good. And I just got an Apple Watch. Can you tell? Because I'm working with the nutritionist. She told me to wear one. Okay. In a week is your birthday. A week and a little. And what kind of birthday girl are you?
Starting point is 00:26:21 Like are you? I'm like a, I don't do stuff for my birthday typically because again, stresses me out. Okay. So do you expect other people? to? No, I just sort of usually, you know, keep going. Like, I don't, I don't do parties usually, but this year, I'm doing something different. What's doing? It's a big year. 35 is like a thing. Yeah. And also, I think, like last year, I was like, you know what? I think I'm going to start doing something small. I'm not a big birthday party person. So I'm doing like a little sort of intimate
Starting point is 00:26:55 thing with a few friends where we're going to rent a house out by a little. lake in Georgia, because that's where I'm filming. Oh, cute. And we're just going to sort of do lake stuff and like grill things and swim. Yeah. I love. I'll let you know. Is Boyf going to be there?
Starting point is 00:27:16 Yeah, of course. Well, not of course. I mean, our schedules are insane, but luckily, yes. Oh, that's fun. And they're all coming to you as they should on your birthday. Yeah. That sounds perfect. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:26 And it's on a lake. Yeah. So sport, it's like, it's cute. I can see the camera. Carousel now. I can see the carousel. Lake pick. Meat pick on the grill. Lake life. Listen, you do cute things. Don't think I didn't see the final frame of the carousel where you're standing in the sand and we see your shadow. That's like artistic as fuck kissing. I love a shadow pick. You do. Yeah. Oh, because you love being mysterious a little bit. It's like not us, but yes, us. Might not be us
Starting point is 00:28:00 Yes, us Okay, so that's a good plan For 35 Yeah, I think so And gifts, how do you What's your vibe on that? You expect a gift? No.
Starting point is 00:28:10 No. I'm, well, gifts are tricky for me generally I'm terrible at giving them. You too. Like, I don't have the thing. You don't need anything. No, but you know, some people like are really good at thinking of really like
Starting point is 00:28:23 great ideas. It's just never by my thing. Really? So people like, Like, your friends kind of accept you for who you are in that way. So are you like, I don't want to give you and I want to get kind of vibe? I mean, I don't put a lot of emphasis on it. I'm definitely not expecting anything from anybody that's coming, you know, getting on an airplane.
Starting point is 00:28:43 Oh, that's nice. To come see me. Yeah. That's like, I feel bad even asking them to do that, you know? That's so sweet. Do you do big birthday stuff? No. Really?
Starting point is 00:28:52 What did you last year for your birthday? When is your birthday? It's pregnant as fuck. It's pregnant as fuck. You were? On May 31st, I'm a Gemini Duh. Oh. Your tourist, by the way, we got along.
Starting point is 00:29:03 I feel that. Okay. Tourists are like, are you chill? I am. Okay. I mean, I think I am. Yeah, that's true. I did say on the cabin the way here to Regina works with me.
Starting point is 00:29:13 I was like, I'm chill! And I screamed that. And then we realized, like, maybe I'm not. But my husband is tourists and, like, I always think, wow, that works. Yeah. What is Leo? Burgo. I don't know anything about them.
Starting point is 00:29:27 They don't. I don't know. That's the thing. I only know stuff about my sign and I don't even know that much. I know that it's an earth sign. Yeah. I know that typically tourists are described as being stubborn. Did you ever look into your sun, rising moon situation? I literally think it's like straight tourists. Truly? I swear to God, I think it's like tourists, whatever rising moon. So you have to get a tattooed on you. Yeah, but I don't really love the sign, the symbol of it. It is. I don't need that. That's true. Do you have tattoos? I have a few, yeah. Little tiny ones. Oh, that's good.
Starting point is 00:30:03 Yeah. Hidden. Yeah. Well, there was a gift that I saw you talked about that Leo gave you like a Christmas gift. Yeah. With the Sicily, it was supposed to be 2022, it was 2024. Yeah. So you like those kind of gifts maybe like sentimental, not necessarily like a.
Starting point is 00:30:20 Yeah. He's excellent at gift giving. It's so annoying. Because now you have to think, but you don't. I can't. He returned half of the things. I bought him for Christmas last year. Not because he's ungrateful because they were just not right.
Starting point is 00:30:32 I know. No, my husband literally tells me not to buy. You know, like, my gift is, I give gifts to my loved ones that are not of the physical. Well, that's not true. Your gift is me. So you get to spend time with me, basically. Yeah, your gift is I'm a good friend. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:51 I'm down with that. It does put pressure. Like, maybe don't give a gift so then you're not. Everybody has their thing. Yeah, totally, I agree. Okay, you guys, I have to talk to you about the bold type also because it's kind of a culty show. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Like people still to this day, even after they've seen you and got re-obsessed in White Lotus, it was still like the bold type, but like she's in the bull type and people love that. How did you feel about when it ended and how it ended? It was kind of perfect timing. It was very bittersweet, obviously. It always is, because I spent so much.
Starting point is 00:31:26 of my life, that part of my life was so, like, centered around that show. But I feel like we were so lucky because when the final season was happening, we knew going into it that it was the last season, you know? So you kind of get to soak it in and like appreciate it and enjoy it in a different way. Yeah. Because, you know, we would, it was, it got towards the end, like, you're there for nine months. We were shooting like 22 episodes. No, it was Montreal, which. which is incredible. Oh, that's fun. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:31:58 I love Montreal. That I want to go. If you ever have a reason to go, go. Go. And let me know. Like better than going to Atlanta. Filming? I mean, I haven't spent as much time in Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:32:11 I, so I can't even really say. But I love Montreal. It's so close to New York, too, which is great. That is great. Food's amazing. Architecture is really cool. It's like an old city, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:22 There's a lot of character to it. Nine ones out of the years a lot. People don't realize when people do shows like that. Yeah. That, like, network shows. Yeah. It's like, it's a lot.
Starting point is 00:32:31 You're spending your entire year there. Yeah. So I felt like it ended perfectly. I was like, you know, turning 30, about to turn 30. Or I just turned 30. I can't remember. You know, so I was like, okay, cool. New phase of my life.
Starting point is 00:32:47 But, like, but getting to sort of kiss that goodbye properly was so sweet. Yeah. And they, exactly. We got to give everybody kind of like, the ending that they deserved, excuse me. Wait, but you're leaning in, you're leaning in. I have to.
Starting point is 00:33:01 Is the team happy? Is the team happy about it? Wait, so that was 2021. So when was White Lotus was it 22? Was it right after? Was it 22?
Starting point is 00:33:16 I feel like we said, Cicely 2020. Yes, yes, yes. Yes. Wow. So that was quick. Did you expect something that huge to happen
Starting point is 00:33:24 quickly? it didn't feel as quick because the first season happened after I wrapped the bold type and then like after that so it did it felt like I had a real minute after the bold type ended before that came along but I definitely never ever thought that that was going to happen so I heard that you auditioned for Alexandra Dadario's role in season one yes who is so incredible by the way I loved her in that. So perfect. So when you didn't get that, and then you saw her, and then you were probably like, oh, duh.
Starting point is 00:34:03 Oh, duh. She's perfect. Did you ever think you would get op number two? No. Really? God, no. You were like, that's it, not going to be in the White Lotus. And then you were.
Starting point is 00:34:14 Yeah. So it came around and did you feel like she's more me than the character? Yeah, I think so. I think that's kind of the magic of that casting. Yeah. And Meredith, the casting director, so incredible. And obviously, Mike is such a huge part of it as well. But I feel like every single season that I've watched, and I loved season three,
Starting point is 00:34:36 I couldn't have imagined anyone but the people that are in it. You know what I mean? You're right. Every time I'm like, yeah, you're that. Correct. And I did feel that way a bit about Daphne. Yeah. You're right.
Starting point is 00:34:49 It's like, okay, Patrick Schwarzenegger. Who I just met this morning. Oh, yeah. How sweet. Yeah. Did you see that his mom said, like, he's not Saxon? Like, I was like, wait, are there people in the world that don't know that it's acting? Like, who are the people being like, no, he's actually...
Starting point is 00:35:03 People do get confused. They get confused. I'm like, can't believe she has to clarify. Yeah. My son is not Saxon. That's crazy. We'll be right back after the break. I saw a quote once that was like, you spend like a gazillion hours in your bed a year or a lifetime.

Starting point is 00:39:57 comfy, easy, sustainable. And we're back. So season three, did you have any theories like fans were going wild? Did you have any? I knew a little bit about what was going to happen kind of early on because Sam Navola and I worked on the perfect couple together.
Starting point is 00:40:13 Right. And we were doing reshoots when he found out he got So he spoiled it for you? I begged him. I don't care about spoilers. I don't. I don't care if I know who's going to die.
Starting point is 00:40:25 Like, it doesn't ruin it for me. Because you're watching, maybe because you're like an actor, you're watching it for like the acting and the storytelling. Not like, guys. Like where we're like, first of all, spoiler alert people. If the show has come out, that's what's annoying. You know what? Like White Lotus had the finale.
Starting point is 00:40:42 Most people watch it live. Then people are like, no spoilers, please. I'm like, you turn off your phone. Yeah, it's really tricky because everyone asks me about White Lotus, but everyone says don't say anything about it. So it's like talk about it without talking about it. And I'm like, I don't know how to do that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:01 To the final? They're like, what did you think of the finale? And I'm like, I'm really pissed they killed Amy Lou Wood. But I can't say that because everybody, I mean, on the flip side, it's like really sweet that everyone's so protective of each other's viewing experience. But it can be really funny. Yeah. Well, you didn't get killed. No. So who knows? I have to tell you, like, I even screenshot this pick, which is so creepy on me. I know. So I was just like watching those scenes again. And that final scene of you, of Daphne, like your face here. Oh, my God, so many freckles. Oh, where are they? Well, they're still here. But they come out in the summer. And we had been in Italy. We shot that at the end. We had been there for like five months at that point. So I had like, came out.
Starting point is 00:41:49 Yeah, yeah. I love it. Well, everyone's trying to put on freckles now, if you don't know. I know, it's crazy because when I was a kid, I hated them. I used to put like lemon juice on my face because somebody told me. To like bleach your face off. Somebody told me we'd get rid of them or something, which by the way is not true. She tried.
Starting point is 00:42:06 Just in case anyone who was thinking maybe it was. To bleach your skin. Look at your eyes like crazy. Listen, Megan Faye deserves all the awards for this scene and you did get nominated for an Emmy. That's so nice. And it's so true. Like, this scene was crazy.
Starting point is 00:42:24 You were so fucking good in it. Thanks. You got nominated for it. Belinda came back. She did. Who knows? Do you have any, like, are you leaving that door open or you're not allowing yourself?
Starting point is 00:42:37 Of course, of course. I mean, listen, it feels the same as it did before I was on the second season where I was like, I'll never thinking about it. But I loved that experience, and I love Mike, and I'll always be a fan of the show. Lucas Gage was on before, and he told us that if you were on the cast, you'd, like, get invited to go when they're filming. Well, nobody invited me to Thailand, so... Bitches.
Starting point is 00:43:03 I'm kidding. It is true, I think, that there is sometimes, like, crossover in terms of that, like, and especially because, like, if Mike stays close with certain people and stuff. Well, you guys had the best, like, cast hangouts, it looked like. We did have some pretty good ones. We all had FOMO, even though we didn't know anybody. You know, like, the audience really was like, wow, they are having the best time ever. I mean, Italy in the summer, are you kidding? Yeah, and the people.
Starting point is 00:43:36 What? Yeah. It was so fun. It was so fun. And you did trumes. With Aubrey, yeah. That story killed me. I know. It was really funny. Wait, so you put it on, you said it in like a, was it Jimmy or?
Starting point is 00:43:48 I think it might have been Seth Myers. Oh, Seth Myers. Yeah, it was Seth Myers. Yeah, because then she went on after me and was like, you left out a critical detail, which was. So you got lost? We took mushrooms. Oh, you said the lost part. I didn't say that. She was like, bitch. Right. Okay. And do your parents, did you care that they would see it? Are you still like? No. I'm talking about microdosing. Yeah. Which I'm a huge supporter of. If you've ever done any research. reading on it. Oh, it was a micro dose. It wasn't a full dose. I've never, like, fully tripped on mushrooms. I have no desire to do that. How to go. That would terrify me. I grew up in New York, so I did it at 15 years old. Oh, wow. I do have this thing where I do think it's good to, like,
Starting point is 00:44:30 try things when you're young. Yeah. For me, it worked because I'm not interested in those things now, you know? You know, it's for me, it's the opposite. That's so funny because when I was a kid, my mom was so anxious about everything and bless her, love her, basically was like, if you drink, you're going to throw up and die. And I was so afraid of vomiting that I, like, didn't drink for a while. And I was like one of the last of my friends to kind of experiment with that. And I never did anything else, like, when my friends were trying stuff because I was just so afraid of it.
Starting point is 00:45:02 So now that I'm a little bit older and I'm like, I know how to be safe about it and then I'm not going to die and all these things. I've been like a little bit more experimental and it's funny because all of my friends were the opposite and so are you. Wait, so what's your drink of choice now? Like what do you order? My drink of choice?
Starting point is 00:45:20 Yeah. Oh, okay. She's like, I thought you'd say drug a choice. Are you a wine girl? I really depends. I love wine. You know, I will say the older I've gotten, the less into like alcohol I am.
Starting point is 00:45:34 Oh, damn. Like I love a margarita. Yeah. But I feel like when I was like in my 20s, I was ordering like, vodka sodas. And like, I don't really do that ever now. I kind of like stick to beer and wine. Yeah. And like, you know, I love it. A cocktail every now and then I love a spritz. Love a spritz. Basically. And I got into gin, kind of. Like, I never used to do gin and tonics.
Starting point is 00:45:58 Yes. But it's so popular in the UK. And when I started spending a lot of time there, I was like, oh, I actually really like this. On a warm day. Yeah. It's very refreshing. You know what I'm thinking? Because I'm with the nutritionist now. What? Like what tonic, if tonic is okay to drink? I do think it has a lot of sugar. It's, like, confusing because people think it's like soda. It's not like soda. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:18 It's like, I don't know what's in it. And you think because it's clear and like, probably that you're doing well. It's just water and it's not. Do you guys have a group chat, the White Lotus? No. No? No. I think we probably did while we were filming.
Starting point is 00:46:32 Is there like a camaraderie, like people? Like you met Patrick today. Is it like, you know kind of like what each other? Yeah. I mean, for sure. I think it's such a singular experience to go, like, live with a bunch of people in a hotel for a number of months. I don't know any other show that does that. There was an interview with Carrie Coon that I saw, which is she's so good.
Starting point is 00:46:53 I love her. That scene that she said, which I love when actors kind of, like, say stuff like this, you know? She was like, like, I had to figure it out with, like, my kids and my husband. Of course. Like, people just think it's, like, easy for people to, like, up and leave for six months. Thailand is so. far away. Yeah, that is.
Starting point is 00:47:12 You know, Italy is way closer. I mean, I never left anyway. But, like, yeah, if you have a family and stuff, you have a family, it's hard to figure out. Into account all of that stuff. So you're working on something now, which I'm sure you can't share yet. I can.
Starting point is 00:47:26 Oh, yeah. Share. Right? Yeah. Tell us. So it is a peacock mini-series called The Good Daughter. I literally almost said the perfect daughter, like the perfect couple, but it's not.
Starting point is 00:47:38 The Good Daughter. It's based off a novel by Karen Slaughter And Roseburn and I are playing sisters Brendan Gleason's our dad Love it It's an incredible cast And yeah we just started It's like when I get back
Starting point is 00:47:51 It'll be on week Five of shooting And it's We'll be there through the end of June Oh fun Yeah And you have another show coming out Sirens
Starting point is 00:48:01 Yes Sirens is out May 22nd I think On Netflix On Netflix Yeah What's that Is that where the stills you posted where you look kind of like. Disgusting? Yeah. More like I was thinking ran through. Yeah. Dattered. Oh, so this is going to be. What is that about? Can you give us any? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:22 Okay. Yeah. Basically, Millie Alcock plays my younger sister. And she goes and escapes our town that we live in in Buffalo because it's kind of, you know, a shithole. And our dad is sick. And she goes to work for Julian Moore's character and our dad is becoming really, really ill and I need help so I go to sort of like get her to come home
Starting point is 00:48:47 because she's not answering the phone and when I get there I'm sort of like oh this is a cult you have to come home with me and she's like I do not want to come home with you I like it here
Starting point is 00:48:56 and I'm like fine if you're not coming home I'm going to stay so it's sort of like this infiltration of a cult yeah oh wow
Starting point is 00:49:03 yeah maybe maybe maybe not yeah okay interesting First of all, you're busy as fuck, so I really do hope you disappear for you a little bit. So you take off. Like when you're done in June, are you going to take a little bit of time?
Starting point is 00:49:17 We'll see. There's another project after this that might happen in mid-July, but not 100% sure yet. She's booked and busy, guys. Yeah, but it films here, hopefully, so at least I'll be home. Oh, fun. Which is nice. That is nice. If you're sweet, sweet parents, you post today, we talked about before we started.
Starting point is 00:49:37 Yeah. like supporting you. Why was, was your mom crying because you looked so pretty? Yeah, it was almost and he was almost giving wedding vibes. I cried because she cried.
Starting point is 00:49:47 I cried because I came out and saw my dad in a suit and I was like, no. Oh, you didn't know that he was going to be dressing up that way? I did, but it was so cute. Oh. Yeah. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:49:58 Are you tearing up again? No. A little bit you are. No, I'm not. I'm so tired, though. I really could cry. No. No, we'll go.
Starting point is 00:50:05 Fine. No, we're done anyway. But I was going to use. That can't be the end. It is. She's hard. She has to go to sleep. Megan, thank you for coming on.
