The following podcast is a dear media production. Welcome back to the Not Skinny Bonafat podcast. I'm your host, Amanda Hirsch, and I still can't believe that I get to chat with some of my favorite stars on my very own podcast, where you'll feel like you're just talking shit with your best friends in your living room. Did this give you flashbacks of recording with me back in the day and probably like in re-recording a whole pod. No, but I feel like that happened. Like every time, like every time.

Yeah. And like it would be such a good episode. I feel like we'd be cracking up. And then the re the redo. It's just, like, awful. Yeah. No, they're realizing 45 minutes and there was no audio. Every time, like, managed to do something.

No. That's why I was scared. The one and only. O.G. For the pod. You could cry. No, I literally am tearing up. I know you.

O.G to the pod. If you're a real one, if you were here in 2019, then you know, no. that Ariel did the pod with me. And Ariel was on the cover of the pod with me. Oh my God. And our bobs, our matching bobs, which our brother-in-law took the photo of us. I don't think on your back in an iPhone in, like, the bedroom, like, crazy. Crazy.

But I was just asked on a podcast, like, the other day, like, how long till it, like, how did it evolve? And, like, how did you start having celebrities and how quickly have it happened? And I'm like, I think pretty quickly, like, it's not like you were doing it with me, for like a year. No. I feel like you were doing it with me for like months. Yeah. And then you started having guests.

Yeah. Aaron Foster. Well, no, I want to get to that because it started with, for so all, people don't know. This is my sister, Ariel. I'm so happy to be back. I feel like every time I come on the pod, we have to do like, guess who's that, back, go back. No, really.

I tell you the people thought that like, I wonder if they're like rumors swirling that we are like on bad germs. like Haley and, um, what's her face? Haley, uh, Duff and Hilary Duff. Because like, you used to be on my stories every day of your life. Yeah. And I used to shove you down people's throats. And also on the pod.

And then, and it was COVID. Yeah. And she lived in the building. And you basically lived in my house. Yeah, I did. And it was pre kids. It was pre kids. But then no, no, no.

And then right. Yeah. Um, but then she moved out of my building to my other sister's building. It did. Wham, blah, I know. And she was like,

what? Nothing's going to change. I'm like, okay. I mean, nothing changed in our relationship. Yeah. Change in how much I see you.

Yeah. Which I still see her like. Every day. Like every weekend. Like every weekend. I talk to every day. But anyway, but it progressed pretty quickly on the pod

because I think what happened like is that I kicked you out. But it was because like once we started having guests, we realized that like, and I'm interviewing them, like it kind of became like you didn't really have, like, anything to do there. Yeah.

You know what I mean? What I feel like? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, for sure. And also, it was like, we would talk about celebrity gossip and now you were interviewing the celebrities. Right.

So it was so different. But I still talk about celebrity. No, you do, but it's a different format. But it's a different format. Right. So when with Ariel was like, I think the first episode that we did was,

well, I'm pretending, you know what I'm doing right now? It's like when you go to a restaurant, and you pretend, like, you didn't look at the menu at home. Like, I think the first episode, no, I know the first episode was the Jordan and Trist in cheating school. Oh, my God.

Oh, my God. The time's in pop culture. But do you also remember that I had talked to this producer about doing it with him, this guy from college? Yeah. And he was like, great, blah, blah, blah. We'll do it. I'm like, great.

He's like working away. And then I told you like, I think I'm just going to post this episode. Let's just do it. You remember? I don't remember. Wait, randomly, without even... And I posted, I found out, by the way, it's so crazy. Wait, I remember you were doing...

You were finding out how to, like, upload to Apple. I embedded. Oh, my God. By the way, if I was on, like, amazing race right now and one of my missions was to embed... I wouldn't know how to embed, but I was so tenacious that, like, I got it. I got... I embedded it. I don't remember the producer emailing being like,

wait, aren't we, like, trying to work together and, like, do this? And don't you remember, then I took a step back and I was like, okay. For one time in my life, I'm not going to be impetuous. Yeah. And I'm not going to, like, do it quickly just to do it. I'm going to take the time, going to let him figure it out. So I think I retracted the episode. And then you remember I put that art.

No, I remember. I remember. Two girls gossiping. No, no, no, no, no. The fact that that's how my pod started. And then I was like, no, I had made a deal with this guy. I'm going to do it with him. And, and that's how it all happened.

But yeah, but once, but once. Aaron Foster came. I mean, yes, I want to talk about that moment. It's not going to bring up because it's in my lesson notes. I've progressed. Sorry, Allison, so we've done this. I won't forget getting Aaron Foster. Like, first of all, Aaron Foster following me. I know.

It was a big deal. I know. Well, now we're friends. The first thing, which was a big deal for your Instagram page. Yeah. Was Corny Kardashian liking. Liking. The incredible meme.

and that when She liked it. I think it was more like I realized like, okay, like your shit can get to people. No, literally. Even if you're like a tiny human. What I was doing in that moment. You were on a beach. It was.

And you were screaming your head off. No, because that moment, like, that was like a big moment. No, you were screaming your head off. Ariel has really been like, like, you know, people say like I'm a number one fan. Like she is. You legit. I remember. That was a big one.

And then Aaron Foster was your first big podcast. At my house. At your house. When I had one bedroom apartment. And, you know, it was so funny, I was thinking about it. You and I were very excited. So we did a whole setup with like nuts. Did I not do a chakouterie setup?

No, you weren't chakotery levely in your life. Like, now you are. That's like what she does. But it was like nuts. It was polygreens. Oh, my, glass pelagrino. The last pellegrino. Well, now I'm sure Aaron wouldn't drink out of plastic.

Like, she would literally leave. But it was glass pellegrino. And like, I don't think we thought this through of like, wait, wait, this is a pod. We're not like hosting. We thought we were hosting. No, we thought we were having a, no. Playday.

Like, so she comes and it was huge, a huge ring. But she, she was like the first person that I met in this industry that, I think the first, like, big deal person, she hates when I do this. I'm like the first celebrity. She's like, take those quotation marks away from that, you know? But like, very, Aaron.

But like, and how normal is she in, like, Sarah walked her over. I came downstairs to get her. I met Sarah downstairs. I was like, I'll take her now, you know. And then we took the elevator together and both of us don't like elevators. And she was freaking out.

She's like, wait, I thought you were scared about elevators. I'm like, no, I'm not scared with people. She's like, I'm scared also with people. Like, you're not my safe person. I was like, I'll protect you. Anyway, we, we bonded. And the elevator is pretty slow. Here is like, hey?

So she was having like a slight panic attack. But since then we've been friends, which is like a long time. What year was that? Harleck, 2019. 2019. That's like going on seven years almost. I mean, you're literally adding. No, because it's 20, 26 in a second.

Yeah, yeah. But did you ever, were you ever mad at me that I kicked you out of the pod? I don't remember ever, like, being mad. I don't think I ever, like, thought of it that way. Like, I would laugh and say, I thought I was, like, so fun for me. And then, like, we would laugh that I was fired. And we would laugh every week that you were fired. That I was fired.

when I'd like randomly come back and now I'm like unfired and fired again. Right, right. I was using you when you needed and here I am today. When I made. But no, I don't think I ever felt that because your podcast really expanded to something so different. Yeah. And the only thing I felt was that you used to send me everything on Instagram and then

you started posting it on Instagram and I was like I no longer get the DMs. Like now I'm part of the following. And I. That's another look. so, you're such a big part of my origin story. Like, my origin story is from clicking over to Ariel and sending her the like things and me like, blah, blah, blah. Like, I took a try at posting them and seeing if people care.

Like, that's the origin story of the talking about celeb stuff, but I still send you things. And by the way, like, didn't mom totally like troll us the other day and tell us because we were fighting with our older sister who was feeling like left out about something. And my mom was like, enough. Like, I hear what you guys talk about. You talk about fucking, like, what did you say? She was like, no, she said like you talk about celebrities, things that people I don't even know all day. Yeah, like, why, she was talking about my older sister, like, why does she even care?

Like, all you guys talk about is, like, dumb shit and celebrities and, like, pop culture and, like, I hear you. It's not like you're having these deep convos all day that she's feeling left out of. But, yeah, three sisters. We get into it sometimes. I mean, it is like, Bazal isn't even though you're here. No, she has no idea. She'll find out next week. She calls you.

Not answering. Yep. That's what happened. And this is why, if you guys listen to the pod, I ask a lot of people about siblings. And if there are three, then I will ask, Erin is one of them. If there are three that I will ask, like, how, how, can we talk about my hair length or no? No, like, you look so cute with a little sweater and your hair looks so good. How's it so long?

I don't know. It just grew. It really grew all of a sudden. It really grew. But it looks good. Don't get a bob. I will never get a bob. I mean,

the bob looked really cute on you too. Depending on the length. No. And depending on like what else is happening. You know, what else is happening on the bod, on the face? But yeah,

that's why I ask guests a lot of times like, what's the relationship? Like, how do you deal with three? Because we're so close. It's not like we have one straight, like one person lives another state. Like we're literally this close.

But still there are issues all the time. And there's jealousy and there. I mean, there should be a shell and we're not just like one of those families that say that. Like, when I tell you, there are fights every day, there are text messages. There's like Tequila Katie by it's like over here.

Without the Tequila. Without the Zekele, that's tequila. No, I feel like we're on the level of when like Courtney and Kim got into a physical fight. Like, that's every fight. You and just thought. No, but like every fight is explosive. Yeah.

Like it is explosive. There's no like happy medium. It's like either there's nothing or there's like everything all at once. But you and I don't fight. Sometimes like I feel like we can fight for, five minutes. Yeah, for five. Like, we snap at each other and then I'm sensitive.

And I'm like, you upset me. She has sounded fun. But mom makes me laugh so much because I was thinking about, first of all, huh, frail's pregnant as we know, because I made the announcement. You literally did. She's too cool for school. She doesn't post her pregnancy on her Instagram.

So I was like, I need to post this psychotic gender. Wait, meanwhile, I don't post my pregnancy on Instagram, but like totally, told you, like, sure, go ahead. Didn't ask me. Like, it was very much, like, I thought she would have me wait until she gave birth, which would have made sense to me because she's also a very anxious for a person. But randomly, I was like, can't wait to post it.

And, you know, where I found it on eBay, you guys. And Noah couldn't have been happier.

And it's such a special, meaningful thing because he was, like, so upset that I didn't save him that necklace. And I felt so bad. Honestly, shopping on eBay just hits different than just adding to cart on something new. You're throwing it back and it's super nostalgic and it's super meaningful. I can't help every one of you, but I've helped friends find things on eBay that they've loved, that they've lost pieces from a long time ago in their life that felt important. They were tied to a memory that they thought they could never replace. But like sometimes you can replace it. And when you can, it feels like a win.

to the fact that you were convinced that you were having a boy. they wanted to cancel the gender reveal. You saw the nub. I did. That you thought the doctor told you you're having a boy. He did. These are all facts that happened. This is what happened.

I saw this. What happened? That I went to an ultrasound and I, like, thought I was an ultrasound technician. I could read the picture. And I definitely saw a nub, like, that you could not disagree with. I sent it to you guys. You guys were like, oh, my God. I said right away, though, that.

Husb laughed and was like, oh, my God. God, it's a boy. We were all convinced. Yeah. And then I, like, I was so convinced that I was like, I don't want to do a cake to not be surprised. By the way, you wanted a girl. I wanted a girl. I did. I did. I wanted a girl. But like, I was not disappointed. The thing was I was like, was like, not going to be surprised if I was to do a cake. Yeah. So I was like, there's no point in doing that. Like, I already know the doctor at the ultrasound asked me, do you know what it is? And I said no. And he was like, okay, I have a really good prediction. And I was like, as soon as they say that. Forso she seized the nut, which I had told you, that.

I'd heard from ultrasound tax in the past of like every gender has the nub. And I think with girls that ends up going in, you were Chad GGBTing the fuck out of this. But then the doctor was like a super serious doctor because I had him too was like, I have a good prediction if you want to know. And that made you feel sucks because I'm like it's either like you have a penis or you don't have a penis. So if he's so certain that there is something like it more so feels like it would be certain to like see something rather than not see something. Yeah. So we were sure. And that's why the gender revealed.

looked insane no it was psychotic i don't think i've never seen you hug your mother-in-law no like first all i don't think i've ever given such a long hug to my mother-in-law and second of all like video i'm like no no no no and second of all she leaned she did but i don't think they have ever witnessed anything that crazy and that much screaming and like crying and mom's like in her hot pink shirt crying mom like i feel like for families on the outside like because we grew up with like a single mom who's like acts like one of us. Like I feel like for normal adults and like married like older,

you know, they don't, they don't understand why this woman is wearing a hopping shirt and saying like, no, it's healthy, healthy, healthy, but like wearing hopping. And then the cake happens and she's not okay.

They just need to be around this energy. a little bit more and then they'll lean right in. But no, I do, I have seen other gender reveals and usually people are like, boo! And then like I see R's and I'm like

No, I honestly, I couldn't believe you let me post it like your face. Was not okay. I mean, no, I think I would, no, because I was just literally so shocked. But it really is so weird to me that she's having a girl because we really had mostly boys, like Allison has Emma, but like so many boys one after the other.

And, you know, knowing that Yuval, your husband has, like, boys in his family and, like, it all was adding up to have a boy. His dad is all boys. But, um, hearing you say, like, I feel her. It's, like, weird for me. I'm so used to saying, him, like, it's not even real to me that it could be a her. The whole thing is still not real to me. I know. She's not a great pregnant person.

If you were wondering, my little angel over here, um, you're not loving the process. No, it's not that I'm not loving the process. Don't worry about it's going to, like, strike blaming. No, stop. My mom will literally say that to every year. by the way. No. Ariel will complain.

I'd be like, I feel like shit and my mom is like, something bad is going to happen and it's going to be because you complain. I don't. And Ariel's like,

I start crying. By the way. This is a real story. This is why I'm insane. That's what you guys? No. It always happened. No, by the way,

this is my older sister. No. No. I'm like literally never here, but when I'm here, she called. Oh, wait. Ariel's never here during the week.

No, no, she has a fucking air tag on you. No, you guys, this is insane. This is very in our hers. Like, you're getting a very, like, uh, like, real moment. Real moment over here. Inside, I'm dying. This is. Inside, I'm literally spiraling.

I got the fog. I got to go home. Can you even keep going? Like, I don't know. No, I don't know. I need a second. It always happens. It has a single time.

We were talking about something important. Oh, that mom the other day, I think. So this is also a very real moment. We're at my house. Ariel's like, no, but like, does my belly look pregnant or does my belly look bad? Like the seven kids time that day. And my mom literally screamed at her. And that's like, what did she say though?

She said something to the. Oh, I can't. I'm not saying out out loud. What did you say? No, she said something that I don't want to repeat. It made me really. I want to know. Was it something bad is going to happen?

Yeah. That's what it was. Yeah, it was. Yeah, it was. And then I start screaming at her. Wait again. My mom literally goes to her like something bad is going to happen and it's going to be because you complain.

No, I'm not. Okay. But like the thing is, I was just asking. You're not mad. By the way, this bitch can get mad. No, I can get really like, she was like, I mean, you screamed at her. Yeah. And you were like, say her sorry.

Say her sorry. But she ended up being like, I said that I'm sorry. It was like a child. She's like, I said it. I said it before. You didn't hear me. Because you know what? I think it's so fucked up to say something like that.

Like, I think it's so fucking. up wild like tell me that I'm so annoying like why are you bringing anything else into this like or shut me up or something like no sometimes and she's like I'm doing that to scare you and I'm like I'm literally scared my whole life is so scared my whole life like you don't need to scare me no that was so funny no but my mom really is one of us like with the Zappos event that you guys came so I didn't invite her to the Zappos dinner then she was like yes oriel like is it all young people yeah and you were like probably and she was like so i'm not coming right fine understood don't come and she hears about the ug station and she flips the shit and what does she tell you

she said she can't believe that one of her daughters didn't get her hugs at the event she was really upset so i text amanda while amada is still at the event and i'm like you need to make sure mom has a pair it was like i would have done that for you i think she said i would have never been in a situation like that and not thought of you right that's what she said like find me, okay, in a professional setting with this brand coming up to the girls that work there and being like, hi, like, as we're like dealing with the whole dinner and like, hey, so like my mom, like wants a pair, could we send it to her? And then what did she do?

Do you know what she did after she got them? Complained that they were too big on her. Oh, my God. Why don't you get it? Right. I'm like, oh, my God, they usually run small. But these parents, by the way, they're the most comfortable ugs in the world. I never take it.

But I feel like when I post mom, like, as she should receive, like, all the love, like, people are like, she's so, she just looks like so warm and sweet and, which she's all those things. She's part of the drama. She is the drama. Okay. I want to talk about, actually, before we get into some celebs stuff today, I want us to talk a little bit about the year of yes. Like, the year of yes has taken a life of its own and it's kind of wild that.

I really feel like I have manifesting powers because like all the time, like I literally said year of yes. I stood by it. I did it. I stuck to it. But also it has taken like that People magazine article that the headline they went with was like that the year of yes thing.

I was just invited to do this talk show by the way and tell you about that like the segment it's going to be about like saying yes. No. Well, yeah. Like I'm in self-help like apparently. So it became like a thing. I mean, listen, I think that like once you start saying yes to things, more opportunities like come along. Yeah.

And like you literally before we're like, I'm not never leaving my house. Yeah. You'd literally only say yes to a few things. And now you really have said yes to so many things and everything that you've said yes to is super cool and like an amazing opportunity. But like then it brought on other super cool amazing opportunities and it's like you're literally booked and busy. Like you tell me sometimes the things you're doing in a week and I'm like, I'm tired. But it is crazy because obviously I didn't start all this this year, as everyone knows. And as you've talked about.

And I've been super. I'm such a content person and being like, I love what I do. I love my pod. I love posting for my couch. I love like being at home with my family. Like, why do I need to do more? Why do I need to get glam? I'd like make fun of the glam and the getting dressed and all that if I'm not getting paid.

So I'm not like doing my job. If I'm not, you know what I mean? Like I had all these like boxes that I was putting myself in and also thinking that it's like cringe or that it's like try hard or that it's all these things if I were to be seen doing something like that. Like I remember even being like, I'm not going to go to the Golden Globes if I'm not nominated. Like that vibe, okay? That was my vibe. Like if I'm not nominated or doing a red car which at the time we love that vibe. No, and I don't regret it. Like everything is part of who I am and I think we're ever evolving and that's why I flip like a stake and that's why I change my opinion

every day. It's fine. But I'm saying like when I was thinking of the New Year's resolution, I don't know how, but it's like, and why all of a sudden in 2025 I wanted to do a New York evolution could I never have. But I was thinking like, I love my life. I love what I do. I love whatever, you know, maybe I was feeling for a moment a little stagnanty or like something in that day where I was like, what could give me a little like, a little zingering, a little like spice up your life vibes? And I was like, maybe like do the things. Like get the picture. Like get the fucking getty pick like get dressed for an event that you have no reason to be at like just do it and see what happens and if you hate it you hate it you tried it whatever yeah so i do that

and then it really was like kind of like a propeller where it does i feel like to me look like new to that it doesn't or it does but like did i turn some switch on and it was like available for business you know what i mean like more you know more available for business because i yes Again, I was, I was saying no, like, obviously I was working doing shit, but I was saying no to anything extra, like anything extra fun, nighttime glam, dressing up, premieres, like, again, unless it was work, work related, somebody I knew. Like, it was so specific. And I was so proud of that. And I was so, like, cringed out by anyone who did anything different, which, like, by the way, I'd still be cringe out if somebody went to an event every day, you know, and, like, had no business being in there. But, like, and they still, like, pick and choose, like, I'll go to Premiere for some of you really want to see, like, the housemaid, because I read the bug and, like, whatever, but the one book. The one book. She's going to go. But I have to say in this, like, self-help woo-woo way, like, it really does work in whatever

you're doing with your life.
