We're used to like crazy shit, you know, and at the beginning of this season, it was kind of like slower in dramatic, really dramatic things.
Like, we're used to like three cheating, you know, things.
Well, we also have to sit through half a season of a wedding, so I'm right there with you.
This is not skinny but not fat.
And I'm your host, Amanda, bringing you the latest in all celebrity gossip, reality TV recaps and anything happening in Hollywood right now that I'm.
I just can't keep my mouth shut about.
This is Not Skinny but Not Fat.
If you're enjoying the Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast, which I really hope you are,
and I'm assuming that's why you're here, then please go to Apple Podcasts and rate and review
us.
That is the most helpful and supportive and loving thing you can do for the podcast.
So like I said, go to Apple Podcasts, rate at five stars, write a little titty-bitty,
And let me know that you did.
And I will give you a big virtual hug.
All right, you guys, since Vanderpump rules, my OGB is coming to a freaking end.
I am, you know, making the podcast, a freaking BPR podcast lately.
And my guest today is Danica Dow.
Is it Danica Dow?
No, that must be a stage name.
It's really not.
But it's so funny because I grew up with the last name.
Serrano because my stepdad raised me. And so I was, I didn't know really that my last name was
even Dow until I was like, freaking 16 years old and had to get a license. And then you're like,
are you freaking kidding me? That's such a good name. I know. I didn't even know really that that was
my last name. I went by Danica Serrano my entire life. Was he offended? You changed it?
I never changed it. I was just under the impression that it was Danica Serrano because all through
school, like grade school, it said on my name tag and all of that, Danica Serrano.
So I'm like, why is my life like a fraud?
Like, why didn't I think my last name was actually Dow until I was 16?
And then you found out and you're like, okay, this is like, sounds cooler?
I guess, yeah.
And I just started going by Dana Kadao after that.
That's a really good name.
And it's like, DD, the, you know, initials.
It's a good name.
Oh, thank you.
So tell me, I try to find out how old you are and I couldn't.
I'm 25.
Oh, so you're like, you're pretty much like illegal on VPR.
because everyone's, like, so much older than you.
Oh, for sure.
I think that I'm, I think I'm a minor.
Yeah, I think I'm the youngest.
I mean, maybe Charlie's younger than me.
I'm not sure.
Yeah.
But I think we're both 25.
And then I'm 26 in August.
Oh, so soon, Z's.
You a Leo?
Mm-hmm.
What do people say about Leo's?
Everything great.
We're just amazing.
We're perfect.
I want to hear about a little bit how you got on the show.
because you are actually, you're like the youngest assistant manager at Sir.
Yes.
I mean, in history, there's never been a manager as young as me.
In history, you guys.
And, okay, that's like pretty cool on its own.
Yeah.
I mean, I started as a hostess.
I was definitely underqualified to be a hostess because I've been a waitress for the past seven years before that, you know, all through college.
and then when I first moved here
for the first two years
and so
my friend of a friend
knew one of the old hostesses
and was like, you need to run down
to Sur right now.
When was this?
Was this when VPR was already a thing,
I'm assuming?
Yeah, this was two and a half years ago.
Maybe, yeah, two and a half years ago.
Right when they were in the middle of season,
oh God, I don't even know six,
in the middle of season six.
Okay.
When they were like in the middle of filming it.
So I was like,
what the hell is going on right now. And I got hired on the spot from Diana and just started
right away being a hostess. And at first I was only working two days a week because I had another
job. And then it just became more serious. I was basically like the lead hostess. I mean,
not trying to chew my own horn, but I was literally the best hostess we've ever had. But isn't it
better money to be like a waitress or bartender? I mean, absolutely. But it's really hard to
move up when you're like the best one at your job like i was telling natalie and lisa like i want to
move up to be a server blah blah blah when i left my other job and you know selfishly they don't want to
move up or promote the person that's the best at the job i think a server is better than be it's like
moving up to be a server for yeah absolutely because you just make better tips and stuff like that so
i don't know and then i just was pressuring her so much to be a server and then one day i would
hung over at work, hostessing, making reservation phone calls at like 2 p.m. before we were even
open. And Natalie had come downstairs saying that she had a meeting with like Peter and Diana and
Lisa and all them and that they wanted to promote me to assistant manager. And I was like,
from hostas. Yeah. They're like, well, you wanted to be a server. It's just like a little bit more
responsibility than that. It's basically the same. Slash like, is it less like manual labor? Like less
work physically? It's not less work. No, it's actually.
more. It's very, it's very hard to explain because although me and like Max from Tomtown were both
managers, he is the GM and he's more of like a dictating kind of manager. I'm kind of like a
lead server kind of manager. So I still have a section. So I'm still taking tables and also
being a manager at the exact same time. So that's your role still. You're still in the system
manager. So you legit, very legit. And when you're interviewed by Deanna, does she say anything about
the show? Like, you might. Yeah, she did. She was just like, you know that our show, our restaurant is like,
you know, based on a reality TV show. Like, is that something that you're okay with? Like, do you watch
the show? Are you a fan? Because we don't want to hire people that, you know, start working at
because they think that they're going to be on the show. Because that's really not how it's how it's like.
you know I would work there for two years before they asked me to be on the show so oh true and it wasn't
my like plan oh it wasn't you didn't have that like at all in the back of your head it was just like another
restaurant really it was just another restaurant because I've always worked in like exciting restaurants
I've always worked in like loungey I did bottle service for a while very like you know fast pace kind of
things so I was like oh sir like that sounds popping like I want to do that so it wasn't like I wanted
to be on the show or anything like that. I was actually thinking of getting my real estate license.
And then it just kind of happened where they like DM'd me and they were like, why weren't you
at the interviews for the show? And I was like, I don't know. I don't know if I want to be on it or not.
And they were like, would you? It's a separate. Okay. It's like a separate process. Well, because every
year they do come in and they're like, you know, who's new at sir? And like, they talk to people and like,
you know, who, like, who's new?
Because there's new people all the time.
Like, who's the new hostess?
Who's the new buser?
Who are these new people?
Because there's a little bit of a handful every year.
And at that point, I wasn't new, but I was new at managing.
And I had made more friends since the last time they had talked to me.
So it just ended up working out.
I don't know.
Wow, that's so crazy.
So, but you were around like the cameras, like seeing film.
from when you were hostess.
And did you watch the show?
I watched the show starting season four.
So I was pretty new to watching it.
I still haven't seen season one, two, or three,
which I want to see so bad because now that I follow all of the fan accounts
and they're always posting throwbacks, I'm like, I can't believe that happened.
And I want to see it.
I started late too.
I started probably like less than two years, like one and a half two years.
ago. And I was shook. I was like, no, there is no reality TV show that's like, this is happening all in one
episode. Like, which is why I think people, I don't know if you felt this, but I kind of did,
we're a little bit harsher on this season because it, because we're used to like crazy shit,
you know? And at the beginning of this season, it was kind of like slower in, uh, dramatic,
really dramatic things. Like, we're used to like three cheating, you know, things. But we also has to
sit through half a season of a wedding. So I'm right there with you. Like, I mean, if we could have gone
without that maybe, and there would have been some more things thrown in there that got cut out.
Like a wedding special. The fans would have been a little bit more receptive to the new people because
there was a lot of things that unfortunately couldn't get shown because of the wedding and because
of things like that. And it's almost over. I mean, it's not my fault. No, I know. And I want to hear
about a couple things. A, I want to hear about, because you work there with your boyfriend.
friend who's also Brett. His name is Brett. It's not the Brett that's Brett and Max. It's a different
Brett. And are you together now? Because I saw some guys. Yeah, we're together now. We actually
got back together during the season. So we were fully together maybe like right after Ariana's
birthday. So we got back together after that and we've been together pretty much ever since.
We took a little break in December and then we've been back together since February. So yeah,
we're good.
So what's that shit that you got you suspended that happened with it?
So you met him at Sir.
He was a bartender?
Yeah, we actually got hired at the same time.
He got hired to be a bartender.
I got hired to be a hostess.
And it was just a year, a year and a half of like back and forth flirting and stuff like that.
And then we finally started hooking up and dating.
And yeah, but I'm not going to lie.
Like the first half of our relationship was very toxic.
I mean, he's a Virgo.
I'm a Leo.
We don't have a very good, you know, we don't have very good communication or didn't
have very good communication.
And, you know, around that time, I've actually been asked us a bunch of times.
But the real story is, and I know that a lot of fans were so confused because they're
like, wait, Danica is the one that was in the wrong. So why did he pay her rent? And why was he so
apologetic for it? Oh, no, wait, hold up. Danica, where did they get all this? I don't work. Tell me.
You didn't see the episode where he handed me an envelope of $1,300. My God, maybe I was like
texting at that moment. It happened for like a millisecond. Like, I wish they showed more of it. But basically,
I was at the bar and he handed me a envelope of, what was it, like $13, $1,400 to pay for my rent for getting me
suspended. And it wasn't, and people were a little bit confused because they're like, wait,
you're the one that was in the wrong. But basically the entire story in, you know, the time that we
have to tell it is that we had gotten in a fight slash broken up a couple days before filming even
started, which is why the altercation was not on the show. But I was at the bar. Yeah, I was at the
bar. I was giving him the silent treatment. And a couple months before all this happened,
I was like joking around. I was like, would you ever have a threesome? Like if we were like in Vegas
fucked up and I found a girl would, and I allowed it, like would you have a threesome? And he was like,
no, I'm not interested in that. I was, you know what I was going to say? I was going to be like,
what do you think he's going to say? Of course he's going to say yes. He said no. Yeah. Shockingly
enough, he said no. He probably was just saying that because he thought that I was trying to pull some like
Right. You know, manipulative shit. And so that happened. Fast forward to three months later,
we're at the bar. I'm giving him the silent treatment. And he was trying to get a rise out of me.
And he was like, so, like, do I get to pick the third person? Like, how about that threesome? Like,
are you down still? Trying to, like, get a rise out of me, knowing that I was, you know, mad at him.
And, you know, wrong place, wrong time. We're at work. I'm your manager. And you know I have such a
short fuse. He did it maliciously and it wasn't cool. Like to trigger you. Exactly. So he triggered me.
I told him to go fuck himself. I walked away from the bar and then he followed me to the host stand and was
yelling in my face at the host stand. And then I felt threatened and I pushed him away slash off of
me. And then that's when I got suspended because I put my hands on him. And it was like kind of a big
ordeal because I was very upset that he didn't get suspended as well because he is the one that
provoked me and I also walked away from the situation and he followed me and it was just not
okay on either end of us and I just felt really like really fucking who told on you it was a known thing
it was out in the open in front of yes there was cody our security guard was standing right there
kind of thing. So it wasn't like a private thing whatsoever. And then it just so happened that three
days after that, it was my first day of filming. And I was like getting suspended. Do you think that if
you didn't get suspended, like did getting suspended, I mean, that sucks in general. It's your job.
It's money. But it also means like kind of less time filming now. Yes and no. I mean,
it did give me a storyline right off the bat, even though they didn't use much of it. It was kind of a whole
thing. Like we did, we did film, you know, a conversation a couple of days after that while I was
suspended. We filmed our breakup. We filmed us getting back together. And then they showed a little
clip of him giving me $1,300 on my first day back to work after being suspended, stuff like that
that they didn't end up showing. But it did give me, you know, more time to be on camera and get to
experience having my life filmed, whether it be something good or bad. I'm surprised. I'm surprised.
because, like, I just learned this year about, like, pickup shots,
which, like, upset me as, like, an avid, like, loving reality TV
and not liking to think about, like, you know, things like that.
But on Vanderpump, there are a bunch of things.
I think this season, which some of the cast members, you know,
spoke to me about and openly that it was like, oh, it's a pickup shot,
or things that happened mistakenly in editing with, like, you know,
different lengths of hair and Ariana and shit like that.
But I'm surprised they didn't fucking do a pickup shot or something.
of your, you know, that fight with your bread, like that that didn't get more. And I even remember
there was some tweet or some Instagram thing. Someone wrote like, I can't believe Danica has all
this like juicy drama with her boyfriend. And instead they're showing like these fake
relationships or something. Maybe they didn't say fake of Dana and Max or whatever. And then
Dana commented like, you know, the shade is towards me, but I agree, which I thought was.
was funny, that she, like, even was like, yeah.
I think, well, we talked about that, and she was like, I was agreeing with, with you.
Because, like, she, we obviously think that it should have been showcased,
because me and Brett are in a full-on, you know, matured relationship.
And both of you work there.
Right.
And they decided to show something that was very, like, new.
But, you know, from a producer's view, and I don't know if this is even correct or not,
but obviously I've been wondering why they didn't show it
and people ask me all the time
and I don't know the answers
because I won't ever get the answers
but I could imagine that people would be like
who the fuck is Danica and who the fuck is Danica's boyfriend
like they're showing two random people
who don't know anybody
and I think that it was a safer bet
maybe to go with Dana because Dana was involved with Max
who is best friends with Tom and Tom
who are very established in the show already
so it does make sense
that they decided to showcase that more
because they don't have time to show everything.
They don't have time to sit here and follow me and Brett when nobody knows us.
I didn't even know the producers.
Like my first day filming, I'm like, I don't know who you guys are.
I don't know what's going on, you know.
And when they were filming me and Brett's, like, you know, we went out to dinner a couple
days after that and kind of talked about the altercation and everything that happened.
Like, it was the most awkward day in my life.
I'm like, I'm going through a breakup right now.
I'm depressed.
And now I have like camera crews and lighting and all this stuff around me.
like I want to shit my pants. It was so scary. I can imagine. So then isn't it, because I've
talked to cast members that like got upset, um, I think a lot this season specifically about like,
you know, filming certain things and not getting aired, other people shit getting aired, maybe shit that
they think is less, uh, you know, interesting, or even having like a traumatic day of filming,
a sad day, whatever that you put so much effort into, like you said, you get made up, blah, blah,
you agree, you get the cards to show something. So,
And then they don't show, like, I feel like that's like, must be a bummer.
Um, yeah.
I mean, I mean, it's a bummer to me.
I mean, everything that I filmed that didn't have to do with Brett basically got shown.
So I just, I feel like there's just obviously a reason why they didn't show it and I just
have to trust them because they know what they're doing.
Right.
That's nice of you to say.
I want to tell you that I, um, you know, I'll be honest.
At the beginning when you're like a lover of a show, of course, you're, you know,
hear new people and you're like, really, like, why change it up? You know, if the recipe's good,
like, why, whatever. And then I was like, okay, like, I remember the first episode,
everyone kind of had their thing. No one seemed too thirsty. I was like, I'm D. Like, I accept.
I concur. And I have to be honest with you. I'm upset like for you. And I've said this on
podcasts because I can tell and even now more, but that you have a personality. You know,
you're spicy, you say what you think, you're like, you have a whole thing going. And I really do
wish and get upset sometimes like for you, even though, you know, that I'm like, why isn't
Danica at this dinner or why, you know, because we got, like you said about the wedding and we got
a lot of Dana, Max and Brett now in this love triangle, even, you know, kind of overshadowing
even like OG stuff. And obviously it's good TV.
and like we have a thing there but like you said it's not like even like a huge i just you know
i can just picture myself in the situation that's what i do in things and like it's human nature
so nobody needs to be perfect and say no i'm just like happy for this person but but like you know
dana is getting a lot of air time this season and both of you are new and i'm putting myself in
your shoes going i'm new she's new like what the fuck kind of thing
like why aren't i i would i would feel that not competition not in a mean way like and i support
you i'm just kind of like i i wish that i could you know i don't know like you're it's like you know
when you when you don't get a job over someone else or something and you're like yeah i mean i
i i totally totally know know what you mean now that i'm seeing it it's a lot different because when
i was in it before i'm like okay dana's definitely like the head person of the new people and i
knew that she had met production before because she, um, you know, met them the year prior at the
Mondrian. So I'm like, okay, maybe they, maybe they have an established relationship. Um,
she's also been working at Tom Tom. So she knows the Tom's very well. So me like not knowing
anything and just them, they literally told me I was going to be on the show a week before we started
filming. So I'm like, by that time, I already knew Dana was going to be on it and everything. So
in my head, I was like, okay, she's the main person. And, you know,
know, wherever I fall is like whatever. I don't mind at all that she has, you know, more scenes
in me and that she has all of that because she's fucking amazing. But I just wish for just myself
in general that my stuff with, I don't know, I guess Brett like got shown because I feel like
naturally, I mean, I'm not an actor by any means, nothing like that whatsoever. But I feel like
naturally as like toxic as it sounds like I gave the producers what they wanted this season
not by like putting on a show or anything just being my like natural normal self and like a lot of
the comments on like what the fans wanted this season I like I know in the back of my head that
I provided all that I agree that's kind of what I'm saying too it didn't get it didn't get shown
and I'm like what the fuck like these people want this and I literally gave it to them not
and knowing that, and that's just how I am.
It wasn't, like, I wasn't acting for anything or, or anything like that.
So you didn't like, kind of Dana with Max, let's put it that way.
But then also, she was, like, into Brett, and then you also told her that he's kind of like a
fuck boy and I'll save my opinions for later but I know a lot of people were like you know why is
Danica and even I'm saying like on the cast but also probably viewers and stuff like why is she
a so against these guys like you're the one who cut did you tell her about the um max like going out
with another girl or something that was Adriana Adriana told her that she saw him at Jones
with another woman Jones right um but you were like you know he's not
Right.
Kind of for you.
My take on that is that, again, there were some things that weren't shown in the very
beginning when I went up to Dana and was like, you shouldn't be with Max.
That was, I didn't know Dana at all.
I was just throwing my two cents out there as like the bitchy person that I am because
I knew so much about Max and he's literally ran through so many of my friends.
And I'm like, in my mind and I've said to Sephora and I'll literally say it again.
Like, I'm a manager and I'm friends with everybody that I work with.
We all want our shifts.
So when I'm hearing that some girl is getting moved to serve from Tom Tom,
because she's dating Max.
I'm like, are you fucking kidding me right now?
This isn't going to work out
because I know it's not going to work out
and now we're going to have to be stuck with this girl
and we're going to have to find shifts for her because of this.
So that was like my very selfish mindset.
By the time Brett happened,
me and Dana like became best friends
and they didn't really show that.
There were so many moments where we like clicked
and we're like, okay, wait, we're like the same person.
I love you.
Like we're, you know, obsessed.
Yeah, they didn't show your relationship
It didn't show it change
And by the time it was Brett
It was more of like a genuine
I'm here for you
And I really don't think that you should even waste your time with this
Because this dude
Like is still in love with his ex-girlfriend
And he also has been talking to me
About one of my friends
He thinks is so hot and he wants to hook up with
So like why would you even waste your time
Like you know
Going after Brett
Like you should be going after someone
so different than the both of them
it's not even funny. So by that time
it was like a very genuine friend to friend thing
in the beginning it was just me being a bitch
and was like what the fuck are you doing? You're stupid.
I have to agree with you about Brett
like he and I was shocked
because Dana also said that she's like
you know Max is kind of a fuck boy
but Brett he's really not
and then I'm like I'm watching the show
he talks like it's like you know walk like
a fuck boy talk like a fuck boy
whatever he's like he says
the shit that you don't like I don't
even like the way he talks about like, you know, he's like to max, uh, I didn't fuck or like,
do what you mind to make, like, that's kind of, even the way that is, I'm not saying you have to
say like, I want to make love to her, but like if you're into someone and don't want to just
have sex with them, then, then I feel like you would speak a little differently. And the way he treats
Sheena is just like, even if it's not towards you, like the way a man treats another woman is like,
you know, well, exactly. And what, you know, there were some more things going on, especially
with like the music video and stuff like that with sheena where oh my god i need to know what you think about
okay so my point of view is that brett is a very nice guy love him so much but i don't i can't tell
still if the nice boy act is like an act or if it's legit because i know he is a sweet person
but there's like this weird thing about him where i'm like you are a very shallow person as well like
you're always talking about women's appearances and like weird things that you notice on people's
I don't know.
And he damn well knew.
Well, he called to going to Sheena.
It's like, you are a male model.
You know if some, you know Sheena well enough now that you've been friends with her for so long that if she's inviting you to go to her house to do a music video that's sexual and she's literally, I was there when she was telling him like, it's going to be hot.
Like we're going to have our shirts off like, you know, it's going to be an intense thing.
And then he goes back and he's like, oh, like I just felt harassed.
was taking advantage me. I'm like, honey, you, you went all the way to Palm Springs to do this
for her. Like, don't play dumb. And so, yeah, I didn't get to throw my opinions out there during
that time, but I've been very vocal about it since because I feel bad for Sheena because
I just feel, I mean, also, Sheena shouldn't have expected that from Brett because Brett's a
Pussy, but then also Brett shouldn't have, you know, played the victim because you weren't a
victim. You knew damn well what you were getting yourself into. So it's kind of like weird and
that whole situation was happening around the Dana thing. I'm like, Dana, this guy isn't for you
also. Right. Right. No. And I agree with that. But didn't, didn't I feel, I don't know, I hope I like daydreamed.
Didn't Brett say in an interview like that she also offered him a blowjob? Yeah. But I mean, I don't, I don't think
that that was serious whatsoever. I've heard Sheena say stuff like that all the time.
And I can't imagine that she was actually looking at him dead in the eyes. And she was like,
I swear I'll give you a blowjob to do it. Like that's just like, I can't come on. She's telling a joke.
The thing is like, I don't get why Sheena, you know, he's not a good friend to you. Like,
don't be his friend. You know, like he obviously is like kind of demeaning towards you. He's making you look
small he's telling kind of everyone that you like are obsessed with him want him desire him and
you're not into it like I wouldn't even you know but the I mean the music video it is when you're
watching it it's like you know it's it's so sexual to the point that it's like so either funny
or either like should I be looking yeah and there is that thing you know a lot of people
who are like super self-righteous and annoying can be like you know if a woman felt that way like
when Brett was saying that it was feeling violated yeah you know
If it was the other way around, like, it's a woman and she's all of a sudden, you know,
but I for some reason, my gut, and you're saying you were there and know this,
is that he knows, also you're a single.
Also, Sheena's a hot girl.
Like, come the fuck on.
It's just, they both just, I don't know how to explain it, but it's like Sheena wants
him to do all these things and she shouldn't expect that he would ever do something like that.
But then also he needs to stand up for himself and be like, I don't want to do that.
So why would I go?
Like, he put himself in that position to be in that situation, if that makes sense.
Like, why did he say yes?
Like, can you stand up to her and be like, no, I don't want to go?
And it's the same-
It's the same thing with Max.
Like, they tell these girls everything they want to hear.
And then, like, once, like, shit starts happening or, you know, stuff like that,
then they're like, oh, well, I don't know why that would happen.
It's like, because you said yes and because you were leading it on, that's why it happened.
But last thing about this love triangle is, like, the last episode when they were
all at the dinner table and obviously, you know, everyone's discussing the, the relationships is like
this. I think, and let me know what you think, is like, Max has no right to tell Dana, you know,
who to be with, who to hook up with. And she's 100% right in that. And she's also telling
him like, you're fucking everything that moves like, what do you want for me? But if Brett and
Max are actually, we're best friends the way, you know, one of them or both them have said,
then it's Brett's duty as his best friend to not hook up with a girl that Max dated.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, I've even told Dana about this.
Like, I feel like when you're true friends with somebody,
you can say something and be like you can agree to disagree.
But I have told Dana this a million times.
I'm like, as much as I love you and I know the way that you see it,
I like side with Max on this one.
I don't think that, like, why would Brett go after her?
Like, Brett can technically have anybody.
A lot of women think he's very good looking, he's charming.
So why would you go for your only friend that has welcomed you into L.A.
that has open arms, come to my, come to Tom Tom.
I'm going to teach you how to bartend, like all this stuff.
Why would you go after his ex-girl?
It just blows my mind.
And if you have to ask Max or whatever, if you could date her or do anything with her,
it's probably too soon.
Don't you think, like, don't you think, especially if you're going to say,
you know that you're not even whatever he's like i don't have feelings like i just you know kind of
enjoy her then like how about don't ruin a friendship over why are you even asking max if he cares if
you're just going to go to la la la and whoever else was sitting there and be like i don't have feelings
for her i don't have feelings for her then why are you wasting your time or your breath asking
someone for permission it's so weird like i'm just not that kind of friend and i never will be and
never have so it just does that kind of thing just doesn't even like it just goes over
my head. I'm like, I just don't understand that mindset or that kind of level of friendship.
I mean, listen, even bros have code, okay? And, you know, they might be okay with like hooking up
with the same girl, but Max and Dana were more than a hookup. And like, obviously the Dana and
bread situation, I don't know. I'm, for some reason, the vibe I got was like, yeah, Max probably has
like commitment stuff. And it could be that he wasn't ready to like, whatever. But it does, my like,
God is kind of like that he's, you know, a little bit less of a of a douche than Brett.
And Brett, I can see why people think that he's like nice.
He also talks nice.
Right.
I mean, he's like, I don't know.
The way he talks is like very.
It's very, I don't even know.
It's like gentle.
I don't, I don't know.
There's something that they could.
And Lisa's fucking obsessed with him too, which is funny.
Oh, I know.
She thinks he's like, there.
That's a lot.
Yeah, it's a lot.
I mean, as much as I don't really get along with Max that much this season, I would have to just agree with him on that part. And I do think that he is, I still think he's a slimy man whore. Like, let me put it right there. There's a lot of things that have happened since the season ended that it is just like, you're a fucking pig. But I do know for a fact that Dana was the girl who he had, you know, fallen for him more than all the, you know, she's not just like some random hoe that he like hooked up with.
one night and you know and he actually did have feelings for her and so maybe he just didn't know
how to vocalize that maybe he made a mistake or maybe that he wanted her back or whatever he was kind
of just skimming along the surface like oh I want this I want that and it wasn't coming out right
it was coming out very selfish and possessive and I think that he what he really wanted to say is like
I want to try again like I don't I don't I want to try again maybe it was jealousy I don't know but
I don't think that Brett should have even gotten involved.
I think he should have just stepped back and let Dana and Max
go through their own personal feelings as individuals before interfering.
Do you think it had anything to do with like wanting a love story?
Because let's not forget, he also took Charlie out,
the most awkward date in history where she says she doesn't eat pasta or avocado or something.
Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm like, wait.
So you're just, like, going to try to date all the new cast members that are single, just, you know.
I don't know.
Like, I just remember, like, it was very, the beginning of filming.
And he was like, I'm going to take Charlie out on a date.
Like, she's my type.
She's brunette, petite.
She's a model.
Da-da-da-da-da-da.
So then when he, like, went for Dana, I'm like, okay, they couldn't be more opposite.
Like, Dana isn't a model.
And she isn't, you know, the type of, she's not like an Instagram model.
You know, she's a normal, you know, genuine human being.
And the way that he describes the type of girls he likes
are more like Instagram models.
And so I'm like, this just doesn't make sense.
I don't know what's going on, but I don't know.
I would say I'm going to buy my own business, but I don't mind my own business.
I need to know now that means that have you not hooked up with any cast member?
No.
For realsies?
Yeah, I have hooked up
You're like trying to remember you're like
Have I? No, I've never I've never hooked up
With another cast member
I've hooked up with someone from Tom Tom
But they're not on the show
And that was before the show
Like even happened but I've just been with Brett
Since we've
So you and Brett are serious
But you're not living together
Yeah, we don't live together
But yeah I mean I would say we're serious
Or at least getting there
Last year we just were a mess
And I feel like it's been so much better since then
But we've also been in quarantine, so I don't know.
I kind of get anxiety for, like, the real life because I'm like, wait, is it still
going to be this good or is shit going to hit the fan?
I don't know.
When you can, like, go out again and stuff.
Right.
So I guess we'll see.
But as of like, since we've got back together the second time in February, it's been
really good ever since then.
So fingers crossed.
Good.
Fingers crossed.
I also want to know, coming into this show and knowing even though it's crazy you knew
like just a week before that you were going to do it.
But you watched from season four,
did you have any like preconceived notions about the OGs?
Like, okay, this person, I'm like scared kind of of,
or not that you look like you'd be scared of people,
but or this person I feel like will really accept me or anything like that.
No, not at all.
I mean, I've been friends with Sheena since very shortly after I started working at Sir.
So I was already friends with her.
I was friends with James.
Those are like the two people that I've been friends with,
basically since I've been working at Sir.
Um, but I've said this before.
I just don't, and I told the producers this, I'm like, if you guys are going to bring me
on to this show and it's going to be like a, okay, who am I going to be friends with from
the OGs and like weasel my way into a group?
Like, that's not me.
So I'm just going to do my own thing and you guys can phone whatever you want.
Um, because I'm not doing that.
Like, I'm not, I don't, you're not kind of like kiss ass to like be.
No offense to like, like some of them.
But I don't, just don't ever see myself being friends with them.
Um, and that.
With who?
Well, it's, I mean, it's nothing against them or anything.
It's just we don't really have anything of common.
Like, I don't have anything in common with Stasi or Katie, you know, Kristen.
Like, I just, I don't see myself ever being, like, close friends with them to where I have to, like, do it for the show.
And I'm not doing that.
I'm not creating a friendship for the show.
I have enough friends.
And if they want to film my interesting-ass life, then they can do that.
But I'm not going to be like, okay, who am I going to, like, leach onto?
That's not me.
But if for some reason we end up organically forming a friendship from being at like the same events and birthday parties and stuff, then so be it. But I'm not going to like play this. I'm going to chase after different.
You seem you seem cool with Ariana. Oh, I love Ariana. Yeah. She was great. She was actually the one OG that I wasn't super close with before started filming. And she was just like chill the entire time. Like completely opened her arms up and we just like became friends. So I guess she is like the exception.
But we did know each other before.
We just weren't, like, necessarily friends before we started filming.
But she's great.
And then Tom Sandoval's obviously always been super nice to me and stuff like that.
But I didn't really get to talk to the other OGs much or, you know, had anything I really do with them.
So it was just, it was kind of weird during the season.
Because I'm like, is that what the producers want?
Like, should I go talk to them?
Should I not?
But I was like also like, I don't do that.
I get too drunk and too fucked up.
to be able to, like, sit in the corner and have a serious talk about something that, like,
I have no idea what's going on, you know?
Like, when I'm...
You have to, like, blow in a breathalyzer before driving for a...
Exactly.
Like, when I'm re-watching the show, I'm like, okay, like, that's what they were sitting in the corner
talking about for so long while I'm over here, like, pulling down Dana's shirt, like, blacked out.
And so I'm like, you know, it's so over my head.
Wait, but so you're close with Sheena still.
I could see you guys vibing.
like being cool.
Yeah, I mean, we're close.
Yeah, we've struggled a little bit lately
just because Dana and I've gotten so close
and, you know...
But aren't they good now?
They are, but I feel like I love Sheena so much,
but she is a little possessive over her friends.
And I think that, you know,
she wants me and her to be closer than me and Dana.
And then, you know,
but same with everybody.
though she wants like her and max to be closer than like anybody else and like stuff like that because
that's just how how she is that i always tell her like you don't have to worry about me like you and i have
our own friendship and i love our friendship and you don't have to worry about the kind of friendship that
i have with dana because it's completely different than the relationship i have with you so we don't
you know not everything needs to be so calculated just like be chill and just like let things happen
like we don't have to be like thinking of like a million different scenarios and a bunch of different
things like we can just all just chill and then when we all hang out together it's all fine it's all fine
you had some ballsies and i i reposted this too and i and i like that about you is that you
stasi posted something about quarantine she was like i'd even you know i'm so bored i'd like
rather be waitressing at sir and you um replied like tweet replied i'm not like twitter so i sound
like a Gima. You replied on Twitter and you were like, tell us what you said. Yeah, I was like,
well, okay, I mean, we're quarantined. Everyone's very emotional right now. And it was, you know,
if she had posted it now, I probably wouldn't have said anything. But back then it was, you know,
we were all wondering what we're doing with unemployment. We're all like literally like laid off
work. Like, it was a very serious moment in the quarantine life. And it was,
It was also the same day that Tom and Tom, you know, raised $50,000 for Tom, Tom.
And it's not that me or any other servers at Sir expected anybody to do that for us whatsoever.
It just felt like it was like in bad takes.
Like, why would you even tweet that?
Like, obviously some people are going to be offended by that.
And we're obviously like in a server group chat and a lot of people were sending that.
And just being like, why would she say this?
This is so inconsiderate and rude.
Because it's like I'd even, like, it's like, it's, it's, it's not only kind of demeaning to, to the times or, or minimizing like the fucking crazy time we're in with this corona shit, but it's also minimizing like being a waitress. Like, I'd even rather.
Well, and everyone knows, everyone knows that Saucy didn't like working at Sir. Peter talks about it all the time, how much she hated it. So it's almost like you're saying that you would, you would go, you would get dragged back into Sir to do something that you didn't want to do for this to be over. And it's,
like, okay, I'm over here going crazy, and I would love to go back to work right now.
Right.
So, fuck off.
So that was just my...
Did you get backlash from like Stasi stands?
Like, they can be, I feel like...
Oh, yeah.
I literally got like two death threats.
It was like so crazy.
Shut up. No.
But like people are like insane.
Like people, oh my God, are so crazy.
But I'm like kind of new to Twitter.
I used to have one a long time ago, but I had like re-downloaded it.
I heard people are like...
They're so mean.
I deleted the icon for,
like three weeks. And now I have it like hidden somewhere because I still keep getting responses.
I'm like, no, calm down. That was like three weeks ago. But also it's like Twitterland. And so
when people see it like, it was so long ago. Did Stasi respond to it? Uh, she didn't, but we did
talk about it, um, at the reunion. So I guess you'll see it there. But, um, yeah, I mean, I don't think
it's that big of a deal now, but I just, I'm the kind of person where if I see something and it triggers me,
I'm going to say something. Yeah. And I don't really care about.
the backlash about it, but I would also rather have the backlash, I think, on Instagram because
Twitter is annoying. I heard. I heard I don't go there. But in general, like, not like put the
saucy shit aside. How are you feeling like with the with the fandom of Vanderpump? Are you feeling
the love? Are you getting like sweet supportive messages? Like, what is your? I feel like it's like
50-50. I feel like sometimes I read stuff and it's like, oh, I hate her. She's boring.
she's this she's psychotic like she needs to get help and then other people are like I love her
she's like season one she's crazy she's insane so I'm like it's like 50 50 so but you sound like
you have like tough skin about it like you're not I do I don't care at all yeah oh yeah oh yeah I literally
like could care less because people who the way I see it is that people who troll like that say like
the mean stuff on Instagram it's like the weirdest rudest people that I know in my life
wouldn't even do that.
So, like, who are, like, who are you?
Like, who, like, raised you?
Where the fuck do you live?
Obviously, you are a very...
Something is going on in your life.
And because I, the root...
Like I said, like, the rudest, meanest people
that I personally know wouldn't, like, comment on a photo
saying something so rude as, like, you...
I don't know.
The root...
The rudest stuff.
It's crazy.
So I'm just, like, the way I look at it is,
like, something's wrong with you, honey, not me.
is amazing. I want to share
here on the podcast because
and tell me
it's just sitting on me from yesterday
and we're talking about it so I'm going to share with you too.
This girl like I don't
if I'll get any messages on my
Instagram account from even
like I've gone through Jack's times
where someone's just like blah
and I'm like bye like whatever
it's my space I can do what I want.
Do you block people?
I've blocked a couple people yeah
because they just won't stop commenting
So yeah, but it just depends on if I'm like bored in bed and I'm reading it or if I'm like out and about and I'm like, oh, ha ha, this person said this and I just put my phone down.
Well, good for you. I need to learn from you a little more. So this, so this girl probably DM me something mean a while ago and I'd blocked her. All of a sudden, my older sister calls me yesterday. This bitch wrote a cute, like a book to my sister about how I'm an awful person. I need to be like trashed, murdered. Like, no, she didn't say murder. She said trashed and put in the
rubbish. So I'm hoping she's somewhere in the UK and, like, can never come near me.
Right. Literally, she wrote the meanest things to my sister. Like, everything about my whole body
from my ear, like her ears are dumb or eyes. Like, she's this, she's that. She wrote to my husband,
um, probably the same thing. I didn't want to read it again because I'm like, I'm not sadistic.
At the end, she was like, you should leave her. We're here for you. Like, we support you. I'm like,
she wrote to my mom. She wrote to my other sister. And I'm like,
I was literally freaking out last night because I was like,
it's scary that people can be so crazy.
It's so crazy.
It's so bizarre.
And I was like,
I know people get death threats and I'm surprised to hear you got that about that tweet.
Yeah.
I was like,
at least she didn't threaten to murder me.
Like literally I was like,
and it's scary and people need to stop.
No one's saying you can't like make a judgment and say this person's a bitch or whatever.
But, like, leave people a lot.
I'm just, like, shook and I didn't want to give it too much space on my Instagram
because I feel like that's what she wanted is like.
Right.
Because she kept on changing her bio, like to not skinny, like, said this.
And like, like, obviously you have an issue.
Like, no, honestly, that's just I, that is, I can't even.
That is bizarre.
People are so fucking freaky.
People are so.
So that's why I'm like, listen, Instagram is really.
I would say a safe like usually a safe space like people there you know but but I feel like
Twitter is is where the scary people are at so I don't scary did you lock the girl or did you
of course I fucking lock the girl and the only thing I did on my Instagram to not give her too
much light is like I asked people to go report her and as of today I heard that people can find
her anymore so I'm hoping Instagram did their their job
she's oh my god but literally i was like i was so upset about it and and my husband was like
why are you even like thinking about her and sometimes people don't understand like they it's it's
not comfortable obviously we all want to be loved and we prefer it that way we can accept if someone
doesn't agree with us but you know what if you don't agree you don't like a person don't fucking
follow them yeah no real for real i mean me and dana laugh about it all the time people like call us
like saying that we look transgender that we need a nose job or that we need we need
lip fillers like like all these things all the time i'm like we just like laugh about it because
we're just like we're just like you can live in l.A. without lip fillers i didn't know
surprise you can that's so where did you come from a where what's your hometown um i'm from
northern california um east bay area it's a really small town called brentwood um there's like a brentwood
out here, so I always have to say Brentwood.
Is Brentwood? Where O.J. Simpson is from?
Is it?
Is it? I mean, Brentwood, L.A.
maybe. Oh, there's a Brentwood at L.A.
Okay. Right, right, right. So I always
have to be like Brentwood in the Bay Area. Or I just say like Walnut Creek, which is nearby
and a lot of people that live in California know what that is.
So you knew after college, like, you wanted to move to like the city, I guess the city?
Well, I went, I lived in Santa Barbara. So I went to college in Santa Barbara and the, I
was dating this guy and he is from Thousand Oaks, which is like an hour, hour and a half away from
here. So he knew that he wanted to move to this area because his dad works in a building right
by the Grove and he was going to start working for his dad. So we moved out here together after
college and that ended up not working out. He was a psycho. And then shortly after that I started
working at sir i guess well actually in between that time i had my crazy la partying fix where i was out
every single night i was hanging out with bad influences and you know being a crazy person and then
it wasn't until i started working at sir and i actually you know had to work there four or five times a
week because i was an assistant manager that i like stopped with the partying in the hills till six a m and
you know all that crazy stuff so you're a good girl
now? Oh no. Not by any means. But I'm more of like a bar gal now instead of like a, you know, I'm in the
club every night with bottle service. You do have a lot of fish nets like so I'm assuming they were
to club. I'm like, no, because you went out with one I wore. It was like a theme thing. And then I like, I saw
you at the pool party. I was like, is she wearing fish nets to the pool party? Oh yeah. I was wearing
these like sheer sheer pants. I'm a big fan of like sheer see-through pants. I'm, I'm a big fan of like sheer see-through pants.
you know, with a thong on.
Those are, that's kind of my thing.
And your boyfriend isn't possessive over your butt?
No, he loves it.
He's always like, wearing less clothes.
Really?
Yeah.
That's so nice.
My husband's so annoying about that.
He's like, you can see your cleavage.
And I'm like, and?
Oh, no.
He, like, loves it.
That's so fun.
I feel like L.A.
that was in New York, it's like, A, freezing all the time and be like.
So how are you keeping up in the quarantine?
You said you had a roommate?
Yeah, me and my roommate.
we've been like literally buying stuff for our apartment every day like every day they were buying
something new yesterday i spent like 300 dollars on plants and i i potted them all and now they're
all over my room and my room literally looks like a plant nursery and i love it so much i know i put
up one day i was like what like part of global pandemic is making us want to redecorate like
no i i buy something new every day i just i was wasted in arizona and bought
furniture, like a bunch. And my roommate was like, hey. You have a patio? No, I get this. And yeah,
oh, yeah, I have a huge patio. Oh, that's fun. And my roommate was like, the guy is here to deliver,
like, I guess, furniture that you bought. And I was like, yeah. And they were like, wait,
he says that, like, I guess his wife was with him. And the wife was like, oh, so the girl that
we're selling to on her bio, it says that her name's Danica and she works at Sir, sir, is she using
like a fake name or does she actually live here? And my roommate was like, no, like that's my roommate.
I'm sorry, she's just in Arizona. And she's like, wait, so we're selling furniture to Danica from
Banner Pump Rules. And my roommate was like, oh, yeah, you are. Because it was like on, it was through
offer up. Why didn't your roommate say like, can we get a discount then? I know. Seriously, can you knock
the delivery fee off? Because that would be great. Wait, so, because we give your fishnet at the pool party,
You went to Ariana and Tom's, obviously, because you said, because I feel like Jack's, my feeling from watching the show, has he been like the least friendly towards new people? I feel like he even tweeted like, they're all thirsty. Oh, yeah. I mean, I was blocked right when he found out. I was going to be on the show, like right when they announced it. You're lying. Why would he love you? I don't know. I mean, he's disgusting. He's gross. But him and I never even talked before then because, I mean, sir is huge.
blocked new people just for being new people. I can't. This is my new info. No, I can. Yeah. And we don't even
talk at work because I work in the restaurant. He works in the lounge. So honestly, like,
it works. Whenever he like picks up a shift, yeah, like whenever he comes in, he at least works like maybe like a
total of five times a month. That is, uh, he blocked you. Yeah. So my feeling is right. He's the,
he's like the least accepting of new people. Oh, yeah. He didn't. He didn't.
say one nice thing to me the entire time we were filming or just like look my direction at all but like
he can honestly fuck off like I could like care less like I'll just throw it right back at you
what did you think of the competing pool parties I mean obviously where you were going so you didn't
have like the the pressure yeah I mean and I'll just say this because I don't give a fuck it was my
birthday and they didn't showcase that it was my birthday whatsoever and so I was at tom and
Arianas because my birthday plans fell through and they were like, well, we can just celebrate your
birthday at my house. And so I was like, okay. So we, um, I of course I was going to Tom and Ariana's.
Like I don't talk to any of them. And that party just doesn't sound fun anyways. I'd obviously
rather be at Tom and Ariana's. And it was so fun. Like my boyfriend got me a birthday cake. It said
sexy panther on it. It was like a black cake. They unfortunately didn't show that. He also bought me
a trip to Bali, which they didn't show either. And so, yeah, we went to Bali in October. And
they filmed it all and didn't show it. And that's the one. That's, I actually wish they would have
shown that one. I actually could care less about the rest of it. But that was such a fun day for me
and such a fun birthday. And unfortunately, it didn't get shown. But just know I had a cake that said
sexy panther on it and I got a trip
to Bali. That sounds awesome and
I'm sorry they didn't show it. I mean
I really am. I
before I want to ask you
A, if you're asked back for next season
would you come back? Yeah.
Okay. B, you know we have to talk about this
editor ship before I let you
go as they say.
For those of you who don't know
this
editor, Bree
something of Vanderpump
rules, went on a podcast and like
no hate. She went on a small podcast that, that I don't even, I mean, not a known podcast.
You didn't go on the e-news or, and I don't know why, but decided to fucking say shit that I read
first and then listened. And I was, when I read it, I was like, no, no, no, she wouldn't say that
on anywhere. And she said, basically, she was hoping to be best friends with Sassie by being
an editor on VPR that she doesn't understand why all the cast members aren't.
trying to basically suck up to her
because she's an editor
and they would get a better edit
and mainly she focused in on Sheena.
She was like,
I don't get why Sheena wouldn't try to be my friend
because our favorite game in the editing room
is playing a game called
How Much We Can Embarrass Sheena
and put in embarrassing scenes
And Sheena's memoir would be called
Death by a Million Embarrassments
And I mean, she freaking
And she even admitted to manipulating some scenes
that savvy viewers like myself noticed
like with Nikolai, you know, Stasi's brother.
It was like pathetic trying to make it seem like Sheena was coming on to him.
Right.
Sheena and Brett's multiple conversations where he's like, I'm not into you.
And she's like, but why not?
But you could tell it's like choppy and whatever.
I was shocked she did this.
Tell me you're like when you, did you have a feeling this was happening in the editing
room?
Like, I mean, Sheena does from the beginning, I told you I watched it late.
And I remember from the beginning, I was like, why, you know, what do people want from Sheena?
Like, I never got it because I could tell that, you know, underneath everything, she is a good person and she hasn't screwed over on her friends, like a lot of the cast.
I didn't get why people were kind of picking on her and then the montages upon montages of the Rob and of the best friend.
And it just felt, it did feel like there was an edit.
Her mom came out a little while ago being upset that a lot of Sheena's stuff doesn't get shown.
I, you know, did podcast with Gina.
She was always upset, you know, that her Vegas shit didn't get shown, that her egg freezing didn't get shown.
I think that that's part of the reason she had an anti kind of feeling towards Dana because her stand-up and shit got shown and Chena's an OG.
So what's your take on all this?
I don't really know.
I mean, it's obviously so unprofessional.
I don't know that girl or that woman at all.
I don't know any of the editors.
So I don't know.
I mean, I obviously just am shocked beyond belief and feel bad for Sheena.
And I just think that that's super unprofessional.
And I also don't like how she dragged other editors.
I don't think that that's true.
Yeah, so she's fired, guys, obviously.
Yeah, she's fired.
And even the statement she made was like still no remorse.
She made was half-ass, and I think that she was trying to drag others to justify what she said,
but there isn't any justification, and I don't.
Does that scare you, like, to be on the show and, like, I don't know, let's say hopefully you come back next season.
I don't know.
It's kind of like, I mean, Sheena's, in my opinion, taking it in stride, like, I would feel fucking shitty if, like, there was a person in the room that has the control that can, like, you know, I mean, obviously no one can put words in your mouth, but editing has a lot of.
power. It does. And it's like, and I don't know, I've seen a lot of back and forth things. I'm
like, okay, well, I've seen things where they're like, well, Sheena gives them that to work with. But then
it's also like, it's a mixture between that, I feel like, and manipulation because Sheena is a
one of a kind person. Everyone kind of knows her personality and how she is. But then also,
there are times where I feel like it goes a little too far with something. And I'm sure that part is
the editing that's kind of messed up. So I think it's just a mixture of those two things
that, yeah. I mean, she's also like kind of telling us, she's like, listen, you're going to miss
my touch. Like, you know, I don't know what her touch is. But like, are you the fucking
reason my birthday wasn't shown? Yeah. Like, are you? Yeah. What did I do to you? Did I, I must have
been fucked up and like looked at her the wrong way or something somewhere for everything wrong about
me to get shown this season because I had my breathalyzer shown in my restraining order and
I pushed my boyfriend and yeah I'm just like a fucking full-blown psychopath so Bree what the
fuck did I do to you come forward I know you should have tried to be her friend fuck the OGs you know I know
seriously I didn't know that there was a higher power but um but no I mean I feel like um they're
handling it very well I think that um obviously she's fired so it's handled well and I think it was just
unprofessional. And I'm glad that she's gone.
Legit. And justice for Sheens. Justice for Sheeons for Shishu.
You guys, we have an episode left and then a reunion, which is fucking crazy. It went by way
too fast. I'm so excited. Thank you so much for coming on. I'm so excited to see the reunion
in the last episode. Everyone go follow. Danica Dow. Wow. How many Ws are in it?
at the end. Danica Dow and it's her real freaking name. Yeah. Not my stage name. Not her stage name. She's not even, so you're not trying to be a model actress. Like the rest of it. So yeah. Wow. Oh, it went by too freaking fast. Let me tell you.
Too fast. I feel like it started after the wedding, to be honest with you.
But it did. It was like half a season, but, you know, maybe next, next season. Hopefully no one's getting married. And we'll see if we come back. I don't know. We'll see.
