Starting point is 00:00:00 The following podcast is a dear media production. Welcome back to the Not Skinny Bonafat podcast. I'm your host, Amanda Hirsch, and I still can't believe that I get to chat with some of my favorite stars on my very own podcast, where you'll feel like you're just talking shit with your best friends in your living room. Hi, guys, happy Tuesday. Welcome back to a new episode. I'm not skim enough that.
Starting point is 00:00:32 I don't know why it's so awkward for me when I do that little intro. I wonder how other podcasters feel about that. I just want to start talking. And sometimes I'm like, no, you got to say where we are. I feel like that's part of the fucking thing. Anyway, let me know what you're hanging in the comments below. Also, also, I do want to say, and I do ask this every, I think, few months. I'm going to say it because usually this comes at the end of the pod, but I think you just
Starting point is 00:00:56 stop listening at the end of the pod. So I'm going to say it. Pause the pod right the fuck now. Rate and review the podcast. It's literally the minimum you could do for me. Like, what did I ask for from you ever in my life? Like I just give, I give, I give, I give. So stop, rate and review, preferably on Apple Podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:16 Thank you. Show your support. God fucking damn it. Anyway, happy week to everyone. Happy Tuesday, if you're listening on a Tuesday. I just got back from L.A. last night. I went for work and I brought my whole fam because that's how I do. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:01:32 I can't stop being me. I can't stop being the fucking cutest person ever. No, I really like, first of all, first of all, all, it did work out timing-wise because I had to go last week, which was that week, like, in between school and camp. And we were looking for something to do anyway because we were kind of like, oh, we'll do something last minute because Noah's off from camp and blah, blah, blah. And then school doesn't start, you know.
Starting point is 00:01:55 And then this came up and I was like, oh, let's go. We had such a great time last time when we went to L.A. And we rented like a house. And we're like, yeah, let's do it again, pool, whatever. And then husband invited my mom, which was really sweet. husband probably had ulterior motive because he knew I'd be working. So he was probably like, oh, Sarah, like, you should totally come. And she got so excited. It was so cute. She was like, oh, my, sure. Yes. And meanwhile, I'm like, oh, that's so cute. Oh, he knows he's going to be with the kids.
Starting point is 00:02:25 Like, I had, like, two days of work out of the four that we were there. So he knew what he was doing. But my mom was still super excited and just love spending time with them. And also, like, they're pretty, I was going to say chill. Lenny's a fucking maniac right now. Terrible twos. Where are you? like you are here. Noah's chill. And so like she has like run around. You know, it's just like she gets to hang out with them, which is fun for her. And it was really just nice that she came.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Also, three on two is great. I don't know how you do two on three. You get what I mean, right? Like three adults on two kids is so helpful. My God. And then how do you do three and two? I don't know. I mean, two on three.
Starting point is 00:03:01 I don't know. You guys tell me, I mean, you're outnumbered at that point. So anyway, I did post about the experience we had at Hillstone. which is South Beverly Grill there. I posted about that on Instagram. I really didn't think like people would care that much. And if anything, I thought people would care more like generally. But all of a sudden I'm learning that like Hillstone sucks across the board.
Starting point is 00:03:23 And so many people fucking know that. I'm like, wait, where have I been? I've been fucking praising Hillstone for my whole life saying it's my number one restaurant. Every time I go, I post about it. Like when people ask me like, but your favorite in New York Hillstone, like we are sick about it. And yes, usually we don't go with the kids because it's like our dinner spot, not really our lunch spot. But we did go in L.A. with the kids. And I mean, they didn't say no.
Starting point is 00:03:49 And there were other kids there. And yeah, so I mentioned that one in the post. But I didn't expect people to kind of go crazy about it and to hear so many stories from other families that this exact same scenario happened to them. But even not this exact same scenario. But people were about other things, like whether it was like, wearing a baseball cap, wearing a tank top, having a friend come say hello for a drink when they were four people. And then the fifth friend came. There was room for her. But still, they were like, no, you're going to have to either tell her to leave or all leave. So they're a little stuck the
Starting point is 00:04:23 fuck up. And it's annoying me. And it sucks that I can't go back now because I'm so angry. If you want to check out more information about what I'm talking about for the Hillson thing, I did a whole reel about it. But now I feel like I can't not tell you. But yeah, we were there with Lenny and Noah. They were actually being sweet. They were playing this drawing game on my phone. Noah, like, annoyed Lenny. This is his new favorite thing, which I tell him, like, you can do this at home, not in public. Like, I annoy him. I get, it's fun to annoy him. He gets very annoyed, very quickly from nothing. Okay, zero to a hundred. He's like, ah. So they were playing really cutely, and then Noah, like, annoyed him. And then Lenny was like, you know, did his little thing. In less than a
Starting point is 00:05:02 a second, a manager was there bending down toward me, condescending towards. me saying like, you know, like it's my requirement to come over and tell you that like, you know, what can we do to help him stop, like, calm down. Like, could I get you mango? People were dying specifically over the mango part of like the fucking mango. Like what? I looked at her. I was just so in shock. I couldn't even answer, which you guys, if I don't have the words, like, it means like I was astounded. Okay. Like, I didn't have the fucking words. Like I was just like, and I think what I said was like, he just did one, one me else. And she was like, no, I think there were like a couple before.
Starting point is 00:05:39 And like, we really need to make sure like he's calm. So what can we do? And it's like, do you want to fucking like inject him with that? Like, what do you? I was like, he's fine. Like, he's totally fine. By the way, they brought over the mango later anyway, which is so funny. But what kills me about is like, listen, if I go into a quiet restaurant, like,
Starting point is 00:05:56 and it's like crickets, you can hear crickets. Like, obviously you're like, this is not. But if it's like a place where like, all you hear is like plates and people and like, everything gets drowned out anyway. So I'm not sure. And obviously, like, in the post, if he was inconsolable, if he was crying or screaming for more than the one freaking blip, I would take him out. But it was just shocking. And I feel like after my experience slash after hearing that this happened to so many people, I'm like kind of really fucking icked out.
Starting point is 00:06:23 And I think I'll have to ban it for my life and deal with it. And it's fine because I used to be obsessed with the coconut shrimp roll. I got over it once my sister found the shrimp tail in there, not the tail, the poop, whatever that is. so I never ate the shrimp roll again. So I do the tie tuna roll, which is fine. Yes, it's a good piece of sushi. I'll live, okay? And the salads are fine.
Starting point is 00:06:44 Like, we'll live. We'll all live. Okay? And even if I go, then I'll never post about it because I'm not going to give them fucking satisfaction. No, I probably won't go. Probably won't go. But then people did show me this is the only update that I don't think I shared on
Starting point is 00:06:58 Instagram that on their website, it does say, which by the way, I don't, did never go to their website. It says our restaurants are not. intended for large groups and we prefer more intimate experiences serving parties of two. So it's like a date night only. Please know that our ability to accommodate parties larger than four is limited. So it's saying here again, like prefer parties of two. Then it says our restaurants are generally not the best environment for young children.
Starting point is 00:07:24 We welcome families. Okay. So it's not allowed. But we ask parents to keep children at the table and calm period. It should be a period. We welcome families, but we ask parents to keep children. at the table and calm vocal infants or youngsters and calm vocal infants or youngsters outside of the dining room.
Starting point is 00:07:45 By the way, like, the dining room is the only room. So that means like the fuck out. Okay. Youngsters and vocal infants. Oh, my God, this Lenny of vocal infant. We do not offer child seating, nor do we allow strollers in the dining room. So they make it pretty clear on the website that they're not kid-like friendly. It's not like kid-free, but it's not kid-friendly.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Anyway, I'm fucking whatever. Fuck. I'm happy to be back in New York. I do love going to LA for for work. I love changing up the vibe. But I do think like I come back and I'm like, give me, give me the avenues and the streets. You know what I mean? Like give it to me. But maybe I need to visit like other areas because we stayed in WeHo this time, which I didn't love to be honest. But that's what was left by the time I booked. Last time we stayed in the hills and I did really like the hills. I know. I'm fun to Lidey. Anyway, let's move on to today's podcast. Before we move on to today's. his podcast. I will say Jacob Allerty, you are my hall pass. I've decided I need to get to sign off officially. I cannot deal. I cannot deal with how hot him and Kendall are. I cannot deal with him on the red carpet like touching. I'm going to go stand on a fucking red carpet and do a fucking thing just so I can be touched. Like he lowered somebody's mic. He touched somebody's shoulder. I need that. Like he just has got it. I don't care about anything. He could pose about his teeth. He could post about it. I don't fucking know. I want it.
Starting point is 00:09:06 Okay, he is it, I think, in Khalibah. Like, not even the hotness and the, I was going to say the length, how tall he is. It's like his vibe of like, you have to see this like lowering the mic video. And then like the way he like touches people. Like, you know, Margot Robbie Wuthering Heights fucking promo, you know, press tour. Anyway, moving into today's pod, I have a girlie that I have followed since the beginning. Okay, where she was a bit different online than she is today. So we talk about that, which I think is probably one of the most interesting things I took away from the conversation is like,
Starting point is 00:09:45 there is so much more to the girl that you see online, that you want to be like, that you aspire to look like. And girls go go crazy over her. She has a really successful brand. She's now officially a wife of a pro tennis player. Her wedding was in freaking bogue. Okay. She's a fancy lady, but she still asked for a white claw at 11 a.m. So I fucking love that.
Starting point is 00:10:10 You could be both. You could be both. It's Paige previously Lorenz. Now Paige Paul. Obviously we go into like changing her name and the decision behind that. And so much more. Paige Paul enjoy. Can I see?
Starting point is 00:10:23 I love this studio because the lighting is so fucking teeth. It really is. Like when I heard we were shooting, I was like, oh, hell yeah. Like, oh, yeah, I'm good now. No, you asking for a white claw at noon? First of all I left out, I was like, oh my God, she came with vibes. Yeah. You have to be like a little silly.
Starting point is 00:10:40 I know. But I also was like, I don't love a white claw. I honestly would drink anything. Yeah? Yeah. What's your alcohol of choice? This new vodka, Celtors, Sigis. But Tommy might be involved in founding.
Starting point is 00:10:53 That I might be promoting. Yeah, that I mean, this might be an ad. This might be a brand partner. Yeah. It's the pause before I'm like, trying to think it's like, like, deliverable. Hey. Well, congrats wifey. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:11:05 That's so exciting. Thank you. I know it is. Wait, is that the band? This one, yeah. Oh, it's under shake. I love it. Congratulations.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Thank you. How long have you been married for? Too fucking long. No, your family is so precious. Ten years. I've been a long fan of yours. I feel like I've been a fan of yours for ten years. I feel like I've also known you from the beginning.
Starting point is 00:11:33 From the beginning. Where I'm like to new people that like are obsessed with you now. Good for you. But I've been here along. You've been there. Like no, you, I got sent a video that you made where you were just being like very kind. I was. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:46 And supporting me. And it was so nice. And I became an immediate fan. And yeah, but you've really seen all of my. All of your shit. All my shit. I know. I was wondering.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Yeah. Because because when I was thinking about like this. And I was like, hey, I remember when you lived in New York. I remember what your fucking, like, apartment looked like, you know, because you posted it all the time. And I was like, I've been doing this for a long time. Right. And like, is that archived or can people find, like, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:12:18 Oh, yeah. My whole, everything's on the internet. Okay, everything's on that. All the evolutions of page. I just, oh, yeah. I just post so much that it gets like. That you have to really scroll. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:29 But yeah, everything's on there. Everything's on YouTube. All my hair colors. And getting lip filler and dissolving lip filler, it's all on there. Because it was very blonde then. Very blonde, yeah. But you always had the like kind of two sides, I feel like. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:45 I feel like, yes, maybe New York was like a little messier and you would maybe come home and drawing and like giggle with your friends. But you always also had the like Bronco or something. Yes, yes. I mean, that's just the way I grew up. Yeah. For sure. I definitely have always had that sort of more suburban country side of me.
Starting point is 00:13:01 but I think that's something that people think nowadays is that I am still that silly. Like I'm still like, I don't go out as often, but like when I get drunk, it's... You guys, she asked for a white clot noon. I did. I'm drinking a beer. And we were like, we have beer.
Starting point is 00:13:17 She's like, okay. I'm drinking a beer in a month. I really thought you would be like no to the beer. But I feel like that is important, by the way. And that's why I think it's great that you're doing my pod. Yes. Because like... And that's why I like doing podcasts.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Because of my aesthetic and because I like curating so much, Yes. Like I find so much beauty in curating socials that I think it has made me seems very serious that I can't make fun of myself and that I don't get silly and I do. That's so true. Do you think about that like a lot? Or you're just aware of it? No, it's definitely come up more, I think recently just because I am, I would say. In vogue, you know, her wedding is in vogue. Yeah. Like she's a lady. And I think just as I've grown, I'm realizing that people haven't seen all these sides of me, right? Some people are just discovering me now for the first time and they see me marrying a tennis player.
Starting point is 00:14:11 It's a very polished sport. And they see just a version of my Instagram that is more polished. It is. And I think it's just not a true representation of who I am. Of all the sides of you. All the sides of me. And I think also people like to put you in a box. Oh, she's one thing or she's this or she's that.
Starting point is 00:14:30 And I think that something that's always been a part of who I am is that I'm just like a lot of different things. So when like people that like follow you, meet you, do you think they're like surprised or? I definitely think so. Except you're probably not like being sick. They're probably like, hey, Paige love you and you're like, blah. Kind of. Like, you're like, hey. And they expect you to like curtsey or something.
Starting point is 00:14:52 Yeah. I think that I'm also just, I don't know. Like I like showing up with warmth with people. Yeah. Because I want people to feel comfortable. So I think that when you're sort of self-deprecating and silly and warm, people can put their guard down around you. And I want people to feel like that around me.
Starting point is 00:15:12 I just saw something so funny before we get into the wedding that I saw that you saw. But so I want to bring it up is that the toast girls, this came up on my feed. And it was like, Claudia talks about like getting skinny a lot or, you know, whatever. And she was like, when I get skinny again. She was like, I'm going to just get me like, I saw that video. That was so silly. She was like, that's like the thing, like the girl.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Yeah, they're so kind to me and supportive. Are you friends with them? I'm friendly with them, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, they said that. That was very funny. But that was so like, because you do have this like, like, how does it feel? Like you have this thing that like people want like to be.
Starting point is 00:15:55 You know, they're like, ah, right? Yeah. I think that it's so flattering, but I think that in so many ways, I think that beauty and a lot of beauty that is shown that maybe people see or the reasons they think I'm beautiful, it's a lot of just like I'm not, it's kind of hair and makeup and putting together outfits and effort. Right. Like I'm not saying that I am honestly my most comfortable self when I am not wearing makeup and when I'm just at home with Tommy. But I think that in a lot of ways, I felt like at a young age to create a sort of not online character, but this person and this persona, you do have to do the hair and the makeup. And it's fun. Like, I find fun in that.
Starting point is 00:16:44 But that's not, it's not like real life, you know. Like, I'm not saying that I don't look like that. Right. But it's also not, it's glam and it's hair and its makeup and its effort to look that put together and to look that tan. And, you know. That's it. I love what you say. I am tan.
Starting point is 00:17:01 No, by the way. But I love the sun. Because as you were saying, like, I love being at home and, like, comfy. I'm thinking of you in, like, low-rise, like, you know, Heather Gray, swept. Me, like, fantasizing. And, like, and, yeah, a really tan flat tummy. And that still fucking looks good. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:17:21 But I get what you're saying. Yeah. Obviously, I get what you're saying, you guys. It's also not all about the looks. She has other things going on. But I understand. I mean, I'm obviously posting a lot of photos of myself in a curated way. And I think that it is so flattering.
Starting point is 00:17:36 And I do care about the way that I look. But I think that it's also feels like part of my job in a way. You're very good at it. Thank you. Like, if you weren't doing this for you, you could do it for other people. Do you go what I do you think about that? Yeah. You're like, if I never open my own shit, like you could be hired to do.
Starting point is 00:17:57 do it for, not that that's what you. Yeah, social media-wise. But you're very good at like making things look at branding and stuff like that. It's definitely I think I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing, which feels really good. Because you went through a lot of different things to get here, right? Yes, but yes, but I do think I've always been really consistent on social media. As a matter if I was crashing out or going through something, I think I've always put my head down and taken it seriously like a job.
Starting point is 00:18:24 Yeah. Like I love what I do and I'm really proud. of my career as a creator because, yeah, I've stayed very consistent. How has it changed, though? Because you said, like, there was a different kind of page at the beginning. But in terms of how much you share, has that changed? Like, were you more like face to camera at the beginning? Like, guys, I'm going through this.
Starting point is 00:18:45 And now it's more like, come with me to a tennis day. And maybe it's like a little bit less like personal, personal. I would say yes because I've gotten older. And I think that I also think that in many ways, with the internet now, people have, there's some sense of like bullying the silly and wanting to share sides of me that is subconscious. And I think that the internet has changed a lot. Things are taken out of context. There's no nuance anymore. People really view us as one-dimensional things and people. And I find that it makes me want to share less. Yeah. Because even if I were to
Starting point is 00:19:24 say something that maybe I did regret or something that maybe, you know, maybe I have an opinion on something that my opinion changes in six months. Right. There is no room for that anymore on the internet. You cannot change your mind. You really cannot, they don't really allow you to grow up, even though they want you to grow up. It's, it's like an impossible feat that you're very aware of now. I'm very aware. I'm very aware. And I'm very career-oriented. So like, I'm not going to allow that to, I'm not going to allow anyone to take that away from me or my career or diminish me so I just don't share in certain ways anymore. But there wasn't like one day I woke up and decided I can't do this anymore.
Starting point is 00:20:02 I think it was like a subconscious progression over time of just like I see also how people are talking about other women, regardless of how they're talking about me. Yeah. Like I would say like the hate that I get is pretty normal and not that drastic compared to a lot of other people and it's quite normal. With my fan base, it's like I think. it's usually a percentage of your fan base. Like if you're a normal creator,
Starting point is 00:20:24 if you have a certain amount of followers, you're going to have a certain amount of haters. Yeah. Like if you have 2 million Instagram followers, like 3, 5% of that is going to be hardcore haters. Are following. I hope you guys are listening. Oh, obsessively following.
Starting point is 00:20:37 They're obsessively following. Well, I also think that in life, the difference between love and hate is kind of like similar. It's fine. It's a fine line, but it's also, if you, that feeling of loving someone and caring enough can also be flipped on its back. And you can have that same passion.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Maybe you shouldn't be that passionate either way. What are your thoughts on that? Yeah, it is interesting. And this is actually something I've thought about a lot in the last week of, I was thinking a lot about parisocial relationships on the internet and what's happening right now in TikTok. It's really scary.
Starting point is 00:21:10 It's basically... TikTok is scarier, right? It's become a discourse now. It's no longer silly, funny videos. It's truly like a discourse. forum of talking about people that they don't know, making statements about people they don't know, degrading women that they don't know. It's all a woman attacking woman. It's really no longer conversations that can be had. It's really like one-sided things. Also, people using, taking things
Starting point is 00:21:36 out of context for clickbait to use someone's name in a video because they know it'll get used. Totally. And I think that is really damaging. And I think that it's, that is social media now. It makes it so much less fun. I remember. I remember like I just had somebody on my podcast a little bit ago and we were laughing because she had some drama and she remembered that I called her and I was like, do not face the camera. No, that's the one thing you can't do. Like I'll do face the camera nowadays of like this morning. I was like, I don't know if to have another baby. But like in terms of how much I used to do it and you're right.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Like whether it's deliberate or not, we all are navigating this space now with more caution just because of all the different things that you've said. not to say again that it's not like a great thing and a powerful tool and made our lives and all the things. But it is to me like sat. Like the way that, you know, there's that meme of like, you know, kids born in the 90s, like, know what it's like before. Yeah. Internet. I'm like, we knew what it was like before it got ugly. Yes. That's to me like so fun. When it was pure. It was pure. I think one of the biggest issues, I studied media in college. So we talked a lot about. Same. You guys have a degree for this. Wait, love that. I actually have a time. agree. So we could talk about this. But I think that something I learned and we talked a lot about,
Starting point is 00:22:55 which this was a long time ago, before TikTok, was just how new the internet was and how there's not many laws, there's not many rules, there's not many regulations. And I think that we are unfortunately seeing just the consequences of really unregulated platforms. And I think that freedom of speech is so important. And if you share your life online, you know, people are going to have an opinion on it, but the way in which discourses go so into bullying, cyberbullying, cyber stalking, cyber harassing is in the U.S. a problem. Cyberbullying does not only affect influencers. Right. And by the way, if you're a young person and you're seeing your favorite creators that you just, you can't, even if you don't want to follow creators, we're just like
Starting point is 00:23:40 fed to the platform. If we are seeing all these women talk about other women like this, how is that affecting us as a community, as I worry about that. But circling back to the internet, I think that in a few years, I would say like maybe five or ten, we're going to see more laws with the internet. I hope so. Yeah, people have had, I mean, you know, we've talked about this before, but like I know, like you said, fans, you could have a fan and you could have a hater. And it's like, of course, the haters can, it's a greater amount of people that love you for sure than don't. Yeah, there's just some loud. But it's just like the passionate negativity.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Do you find that? Like, do you get? I, I think it's one of those like monkey don't see you don't hear vibes. Like, yeah, if you look for, like I don't want to know about it. I'm sure it's happening. Yeah. You know, there's a, there's a community. There's a community somewhere.
Starting point is 00:24:33 There's a small town. You know what I mean? They should do a link up. Our small villages. But yours got a little bit scarier at some point. Like, they were stalking you. Yeah. And finding things out about you.
Starting point is 00:24:43 Yeah. So that's like another scary level, which I'm sure, like, is probably a reason why it affected you to maybe share less. Yeah. Like, what about your home? Yeah. Yeah. My address has been posted online before, which I don't know. I also think that I don't even talk about this that much because I do also think that it's not fair, but like life's not fair.
Starting point is 00:25:05 And like every job has a set of issues. And I'm choosing this job and this life. And there are so many. issues and problems that I have across the board. But I could go get another job. Yeah. You could be a social media. I could do a lot of other things.
Starting point is 00:25:22 I could do a lot of other things. I just think like obviously the world would be a better, safer place with us crazy people in general. But yeah, even, you know, I love to talk about like salacious, like drama, reality TV, you know. Yeah. And I love talking about it in the way of like tea, fun, you know. And then I'll get into those algorithms of people that are like,
Starting point is 00:25:43 and you're like, no, not the vibe that I'm talking about. Like, when I started, it was like, let's talk about these things about pop culture when I started this in 2020, but in the like, oh my God, can you believe? Yeah, yeah. You also think that, like, our generation where accounts like yours, where you guys are actually using like real, it's more journalism, like in the sense of you actually have you of ethics when you talk about other people, like you're not just going on. I think it's not even ethics.
Starting point is 00:26:14 It's literally just like a moral thing. It's just like. Like you would never go on and like completely trash someone you don't know. Because I also care. Right. But you were never told that. I think it's like a new generation thing. Like the lack of respect.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Because I think the new generation like you said is like clickbait. Yeah. It's like I don't care about. You as a human being. But this getting a lot of views and life. Yeah. Yeah. You know?
Starting point is 00:26:36 Yeah. And I think and I've said this from the beginning of like doing this. like you got to do it because you love it. You know what I mean? And I do. Yeah, I know you do. And that's like the thing that I like always come back to you. Like I love what I do.
Starting point is 00:26:51 I love my job. I've loved my career as an influencer. I've now love my career as a business owner. Like no one's ever been able to like take that away from me no matter what. And I've literally seen everything under the sunset about me. And they've never like ruined anything. I think you have tough skin. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:08 Right? Well, no, I'm actually quite sensitive because I want to be loved. Because I love big. Yeah. I'm a big love person. So I want that big love back. Yeah. Which I think is another thing that I like love about myself that I wouldn't want to replace that.
Starting point is 00:27:22 But I've grown, I've grown tough skin. You've grown tougher skin. It's interesting. I also think that because my brand is Dairy Boy is so big now that it's like, okay. Like I have my dream house, my dream husband. Like your dream job. Like life. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:40 I have a very close family. I'm like, I've such an amazing life that I'm sort of just like now, that stuff doesn't hurt as much. But I think when you're kind of grinding it out and you're finding yourself. And like that's your most like not like, I get what you're saying. My currency isn't whether people love or don't love me anymore, which it used to be. It used to be the only thing. And now you have so much going on. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:03 Well, I'm so happy for you. Thank you. And speaking like, again, about how long I followed you is like I remember the like day of like, I'm during your regular milk like fuck your gym. Yeah, you think I've been there. And like people are seeing Dairy Boy now doing so well, you know, but I literally for people that followed you along the way from the beginning, like I remember the day you were just like everyone's drinking.
Starting point is 00:28:27 Yeah, it was a crazy time. Everyone's drinking almond milk. That was the peak of influencer fitness. Was that scary though then to be like, I mean, not that it's like a cancelable thing, But to be like, drink milk from cows, you know? Like, were you getting backlash or people were like... The only thing that I got was people saying that the dairy industry was cruel, which I also understand. Like, I mean, there's, again, every industry has its bad people.
Starting point is 00:29:00 And that was the only thing I got. But it was really, honestly, way more positive. Do you milk cows? No. I mean, I have before. Okay. One of my close. childhood friends growing up has a dairy farm.
Starting point is 00:29:11 And I grew up going to school in Vermont. So I just was around a lot of farms in general. But I have milk to cow, but I don't have cows. But yeah, it was definitely like, what do they call it, like disruptive when you know. Yeah, which is hilarious. I drink milk from cows. Yeah. You know?
Starting point is 00:29:32 And I think that that has always been the way that I like using my platform for in like ways that are like serious but also unsurious. Yeah. Like that was very unserious. And it started as March. Yeah. Because people were just like, I want a hat with this on it. Right.
Starting point is 00:29:48 Yeah. That's crazy. But yeah, it was serious, but it was unsurious. And it was like this inside joke with my community. And then it became a whole brand. I already had the mood board. It was called Chop Lorenz. So I had this account for a long time.
Starting point is 00:30:03 And then I basically started selling the hats on this. it was all I remember you would post the like Shopify sales oh yeah do you still do that I don't anymore because it's just like I need to be more humble but I used to not be humble yeah I used to be like my computer is crashing yeah actually like yeah that was like good marketing too it was because I think people were like why do people care so much about this I want to care I should care I should care yeah yeah no I love that so much I also think I a little bit like back in the day was trying to prove myself to myself and to everyone else. Right.
Starting point is 00:30:39 Like, yes. So it's like, look, like, I'm doing it. Like, I'm popular. People love me. I feel less like that now. We'll be right back after the break. Okay, so most of us picked a bank at like 16. I know that mine I picked when I was in college and it was only bank in my college

Like the other day, Hus was like, it's so nice to wake up before the kids. You should wake up before the kids and have coffee. And I'm like, I will sleep until the last moment that I can sleep.
Starting point is 00:34:13 Do you get what I mean? Like, don't mess with it. The alarm does not come before she needs to be awake. I also learned about myself through the years that I'm a hot sleeper. Okay. And summer, I just remember feeling sticky to my sheets, feeling hot, literally turning over my pillow every time to get like the cool side. I'm kicking a leg out. I'm flipping the pillow. I'm lowering the AC. It's like really crazy. Okay. However, I've changed that
Starting point is 00:34:43 in my life because I realize it matters what sheets I sleep on. Okay, we got to mature. We got to invest bowl and branch. Okay. They make their summer bedding specifically to be breathable and lightweight. So you're not trapping the freaking heat while you sleep. The cooling comes from the way the cotton is woven. I'm just obsessed with their sheets.

Starting point is 00:35:48 planning a get-away, you automatically think you have to get on a plane. And like, it's a huge deal. You have to go way far, bar, bar away. It's not true. Okay. You know what's a great especially from New York, and has way more going on there than I realize. Buffalo, you could literally see a concert or a show in these really cool spaces that have been
Starting point is 00:36:11 transformed like an old movie palace, former church, and then there's the waterfront, which I feel like is just such a good family day. You can kayak literally through the city, or if your kids are a little older and braver than I am, you could zip line through
Starting point is 00:36:27 these reimagined grain silos. Obviously, most importantly, we need to discuss the food. That's always such a major part of any trip for me. As you know, going to restaurants, I love it. There are restaurants for basically anything in the mood for, but apparently some of the best meals are the random ones that you'll find at a little corner bar, which is totally my vibe, but also so many family-friendly options. It just feels like one of those cities that there's a lot to do, but it still has that tight knit come as you are feeling. Like you can relax and be yourself, okay?
Starting point is 00:37:05 It's like going from your home to like a vacation home. Do you get what I mean? And not coming home and feel like you need a vacation from your vacation. Like that's Buffalo for you. Learn more and plan your trip at visitbuffalo.com. And we're back. I made a newer resolution once. This is so in fucking niche.
Starting point is 00:37:32 So you know when people ask for links. Yes. I'm sure every day. So you know how like people will post like the question. Yeah. Can I have the link and then link it? I made a New Year's resolution once. I'm not fucking doing that anymore.
Starting point is 00:37:46 I don't need to prove to you that somebody asked for it. Do you get what I'm saying? So you don't, you're not posting the screenshot of the question. Okay. Noted because I still do that. You're so right though. I'm like it's like it's like. It's like.
Starting point is 00:37:59 It's micro insecurities. I have like a handful of them and that's on my list. Isn't it so? It's like, you know, because in your mind you have the troll like, nobody asks for them, you know? You're like, I have to prove to prove that I have the question. Like, can I get, I literally like nobody cared, nobody ever said anything about it. I was like, this is a personal ick of mine. Yes.
Starting point is 00:38:19 And I have to stop myself from doing it. Well, you know what cracks me up when I do question or when I, this doesn't happen anymore, but when I used to do like, ask me anything and I'd answer them. Some trolls would be like, you just ask. ask yourself this question. I'm like, wait, I'm so embarrassed. Like, does it look like that? Because, like, they assume, they assume that. No one could be, no one could love me. No, we're deleting comments. We're deleting reviews. We control everything. Yeah. Yeah. It's so crazy. What's another, like, micro insecurity? Oh, there's got it. There's so many. I have a micro insecurity, by the way,
Starting point is 00:38:49 about AMAs. Like, is that so self-important of me? To be like, ask me. Even the ask me anything. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. What? you want to know. Or even like the come with me to get my hair done. I'm like, wait, do you like, do you want to come? Do you even want to come? Like, do you even like, help? Also, do you think my hair looks good? Or you're just watching because like, I don't know. Oh, that's so funny. I'm on the first card. Just so you know, like that's how much. We're chit chatting. Chit chatting, which is my favorite kind of pod. But I have to talk about this wedding. Yes. This like gorgeous. Thank you. Estate. Mm-hmm. Your page ball. Now, that's first of all, like, very, very,
Starting point is 00:39:29 important to me to talk about. Yeah. You changed the IG name. Immediately. Immediately. I actually didn't know it changed. So we had, we have a great relationship with meta and Instagram. And we had told them, because I had the other handle on the 14th, could you just switch it over? And I didn't know what time they were going to switch it over.
Starting point is 00:39:46 Was that day after the wedding or day of? That was July 14th was the wedding. Oh, July 14th. So they actually changed it in the morning, which was kind of fun. But people were like, how the fuck did you do this before you're, they're like, they're picturing me like at the computer, like changing my thing instead of doing my wedding stuff. Yeah, yeah. But no, that's not what happened. Instagram is just very good to me and they switched it for me.
Starting point is 00:40:09 And I- Was that a decision? Like, did you think about it? Because people would assume that you would debate. This is your brand. It was never, never a question. Really? Yeah, I think it's like, I love his last name. I love him. First of all, it is a good last name. It's an honor to me to have his last name. I think that I want our kids, I want to share my last. name with my children. Yeah. And I just, I love them so much. Yeah. And you're like, and it's good for embroidered. Yes. I just, I don't know. I'm, I'm traditional in that way. Yeah. I think marriage is so beautiful and yeah, it was never a question. So you didn't have even an out, did people try to, in the business world try to sway you? Agents, man. And just like, what? Think about this for a second.
Starting point is 00:40:54 Yeah. Although a few people weren't. But yeah, a lot of people were curious or. I saw a really funny TikTok. Someone goes, you know what? Paige Paul made me less insecure about changing my last name because she went from pasta to potatoes. I go, oh. Oh, okay. But honestly, my last name's like Italian. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:15 And then Paul's very like American. American. So it kind of is giving pasta to potatoes. I'm like she kind of clocked my shit with that. But I love that. I'm like, okay, yeah, give me the potato. I love potatoes. Did you, though, go through.
Starting point is 00:41:28 through all the steps that you actually need to go through to change your name. It's happening right now. It's a lot of work. It's a lot of work. Yeah. Did you change your last name? I didn't. You didn't.
Starting point is 00:41:37 And it is true about the kids. Like I have kids. Yeah. And it's like that's what the only time it hurts. Yes. It's kind of when it's like you call a doctor and you're like Amanda Hirsch for, you know, and they're like, oh, what? Totally.
Starting point is 00:41:50 And you want to be the family, you know? I totally respect either decision. Like, yeah. I honestly would have been happy either way. I just felt my bones. Yeah, no, I love that. That was bright. And the dress was so gorgeous. Thank you. And timeless, I feel like. That was my goal. Yeah. Yeah, that was my goal. Did you help Tommy pick his suit? I did. I didn't want him to show me, but he just sent me pictures one day. I was like, wait, what am I looking at? Oh, you didn't show each other? Oh, I didn't show my dress. Okay. No, no, no. That was a total surprise. He showed me his outfits and I was like, oh, I thought this was going to be a surprise, but I was happy to help. He was really excited, which is really sweet. But he wore a double-breasted burberry. suit. All of his looks were burberry because he's a burberry ambassador, but which is so cute.
Starting point is 00:42:33 And he looked so handsome. And there were honey deuses. Yep. We love a gray goose. I love it. Yeah. Have you had a honey deuce before? Yes, I've been to the U.S. Open page, Paul. I can literally slam 12 of them. Really? No, no, no. Was that your wedding drink of choice? Oh, yeah. Oh, you rolled with that? Or did you mix? Oh, I mixed. Oh, I'm drinking it all. I'm drinking it all. Although, like, I try to not drink tequila because I get so crazy. Wait, what's your tolerance like, because you're a small gal. I'm kind of a tank. Stop. Yeah, I'm kind of a tank. Like, you can drink. You could drink. Yeah. Because if you're mixing honey deuses and other shit. You just have to eat. So you ate at your wedding? Oh, yeah. Oh, well,
Starting point is 00:43:13 you have like a good metabolism or something. Yeah, I also just like work out a lot. You do? I'm very active, yeah. Do you post it? No, not really. So I don't believe you. That's also a micro-inclair. No, no, but actually. That's a micro-incurity. Like, I don't want to post myself working out. I just, yeah. I just think Also, I think I'm on my phone so much. Even when I ride my horse now, I don't post about it much anymore, which is hard for me my brand because people, if they were to like pick any content that people want to see me doing, they want to see my ass on a horse. Like, they want to see me riding through a fucking field.
Starting point is 00:43:42 Yeah, that kind of blew up. What am I going to have a fucking tripod and be like riding my horse? Like, it's just too much. I will say that I do think it makes it realer that you don't. Yes, but then I have to like tell you guys that I do it because everyone's like, where's the horse? Like, I haven't seen it in two weeks. I'm like, can you give me?
Starting point is 00:43:58 fucking break. You come. You're like, come with me. I don't show proof of life. I've show proof of life of like my animals. So people don't think that I like got rid of them. Because there's like an aesthetic to it that I'm sure by the don't you think it exists though that like there are people that maybe genuinely don't ride or something and are just posting about it. Majority of people. Yes. Yes. Majority of people I feel like are like great. Yeah, she's probably riding in her free time. But other people are like whatever. But no, but people doing it, I mean for the. aesthetic. That for sure happens. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But you're a real rider. I'm a real rider. I've rode my whole life. I grew up next to a horseback riding school. I used to work at the barn. Did you ever have an accident? I've fallen off. If you ride enough, you fall off. And it's not scary.
Starting point is 00:44:44 Oh, it's scary. I like almost thought I was going to die once. No, it's really dangerous. I talk to my parents all the time about how I like don't want to let my kids horseback ride. Really? Yeah. That's all you've been talking a lot about kids. I know. Is it like marriage? I'm like breadcrumbing. Did the day... I was drinking a beer. First of all, another micro insecurity. I suddenly breadcrumming. Did getting married make you feel like closer to that to like having a family?
Starting point is 00:45:07 Yeah, that's always, I mean, Tommy wanted to have kids before we even got married, so. Oh, really? Yeah, he won't see a dead. How old are you now? I'm 28. You're such a fucking baby. Yeah. But if you had kids young, it would be so hot.
Starting point is 00:45:19 Oh, yeah. We'll have kids soon. Yeah? Yeah. Yeah. Does that scare you in terms of like work? No. You don't have that fear.
Starting point is 00:45:27 No. I also think I'm at such a point in my career where I have such good people around me to help support me and I have built this life in Connecticut and Florida that I can work. It's my office is 10 minutes from my house. Yeah. Like that baby will be coming to the office with me. Right. Like you feel like you would have a good flow. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:46 I mean, of course my life's going to change a lot. Yeah. But I'm so excited. I mean. I feel like you would so want a girl. Yeah. Right. I want like a lot of kids.
Starting point is 00:45:55 What? Like how many? Like five or six. No. Stop. Yeah. How many siblings did you grow up with? There's three of us.
Starting point is 00:46:03 I always wanted, like, I feel like, I just love big families. I think there's, whenever I would go and visit friends that had big families, I just felt so, so comforting and beautiful. How many siblings does Tommy have? He has, same as me, too. So you're three. Yeah. Five or six, she said, you guys. She said five or six.
Starting point is 00:46:22 Yeah. I also think that if you, I have had a really fortunate career where I've, like, been able to. like afford that many kids. I think also... Right. That's another thing. I think that's a huge part of it. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:46:33 I think, you know, you want to be able to give every child the same opportunity. And I think it's selfish to have kids, like, that many kids. If you can't. Yeah, I think, because you want to be able to give them all the same life. Well, first of all, let's make a deal that we check in after your first kid, your first pregnancy, your first birth and your first, like, terrible twos. And we'll talk about the five or six number. And it's funny that, yeah, deal.
Starting point is 00:46:59 It's funny, though, I've always felt that way. And there was no, like, even growing up, I always, even when I was like seven at a play date at my friend's house with a big family. You were like, you wanted it. I loved it. And the fact that you thought that your three siblings were, it's not big enough. Because I also felt like three is really tough. Like, there's always someone left out. By the way, that is true.
Starting point is 00:47:20 Like, I would rather have two. Why did you have that in your family? There was always someone left out. What are you? What is it? Sister. I have a younger brother and an older sister and we're all very close.
Starting point is 00:47:30 My brother lives with me. Your brother lives with you now? Wait, but you were two girls and a boy, so didn't that make it easier for like the, do you get what I mean? It was always my brother. My sister and I are both very close with my brother, but my sister and I are both very different.
Starting point is 00:47:47 So my brother, Jack, would kind of be in the middle. Yeah. He would be best friends with Whitney or best friends with me and we would sort of like fight over him. I mean, it seems like you won. I won. I won. But yeah, I think there was always someone left out. And I think that... It is true. I have three sisters and it is like that. I mean, it's the best thing in the world, but it also is like, you know, two and three. I said three sisters. We're three sisters. So we're three total. But yeah, the three number is hard. Yeah. You're right. Don't fuck with my brain right now, bitch. You have another baby?
Starting point is 00:48:21 Well, I'm thinking about a third baby. Yeah. But I don't want to be thinking about a fucking fourth baby. No, it's too much. No, that's too much. Yeah. Yeah. You don't think they'll start raising each other at that point? Like, I feel like that's something people say. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:48:34 You're like, that's not true. No, I feel like it's like, like people say like, have the third. It will like raise itself. You know, it's not true. Three, I don't think raises itself, but four I think raises itself. Like I would know. Again, can we talk like. Yes, we'll talk.
Starting point is 00:48:49 Okay. We can. We're going to keep in touch. Yeah. Okay. I love this for us. Okay. I also loved two other things.
Starting point is 00:48:56 related to this wedding is the tacky bachelor's party, which is very important, non-curated page ball. But if you knew Paige Lorenz from 2020, that's her. That's her. I know. She's not gone anywhere, guys.
Starting point is 00:49:11 Were there a lot of penises and stuff? There actually were no penis. Oh, there was one huge dildo. Okay. Yeah. So what was tacky about it? Just the, like, the outfits and just the way that we were out. Like, honestly, I mean, I showed a bit of it on social media,
Starting point is 00:49:23 but not only was I so. hammered, but we were just going to dive bars and being in Connecticut or did you go in Nantucket. Oh, okay. We were up to no good. Wait, the connection to Nantucket came from, you said you went there and when you were a child? I grew up summering there my whole life. My like generations, we've had families that had a house there. We no longer have the house there, but. Oh, so you rented a house. No, we, now we rent, yeah. Now you rent. But you grew up going to the house and the family. Yeah. Why would they get rid of the house? We couldn't afford to keep it. My family.
Starting point is 00:49:57 Yeah. Which is funny because this whole... You're like, give me a few years, guys. Well, it's really funny. I always said to my mom, I said, I'm going to buy it back for us, the house. And it's been really interesting because obviously there's, I'm on Nantucket. The store is doing so well. Oh, right.
Starting point is 00:50:12 The store is in Antucket. Yeah, our stores on Nantucket. And for me, it was really like a childhood dream that I was accomplishing. And I think when my family, my grandparents sold their house and we couldn't keep it, I think I made a promise to myself that I was. I was going to work hard enough to like find my way back and earn my way back, I guess. Because places like Nantucket are, it's really expensive. It's really hard to own a home there. Very expensive to even rent for a week. You have to rent Saturday to Saturday.
Starting point is 00:50:41 You have to rent like the full. They won't let you. It is so unaffordable. It's expensive to get there. It is just the most expensive place, like ever. They'll want to buy it back even though you have the store there. You still do? Yeah. I mean, yeah, it's my childhood dream. Like if it ever gets listed, you'll know about it. Yeah, it's wild. It is now worth so much money. They bought it for like nothing.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Are they like, ah, that's my heart to reconcile. Yeah. I mean, a lot of, it happens to a lot of families. And I think that in a lot of these, you know, generationally wealthy places, a lot of people get pushed out. And it happens all the time. Well, since you brought up Nantucket, just for a second, I wasn't in that.
Starting point is 00:51:21 Yeah. Nantucketrama. But you saw it. I saw it. I couldn't miss it. I couldn't miss it, but I was also like, right. Okay. We're not going to like go crazy into it.
Starting point is 00:51:32 No, no, we can talk about it. Just like in general, the people that saw no influencer sign. It's a really beautiful store on Nantucket that's probably the best real estate on Main Street. It's been there forever. So they put up a sign that said no influencers. Did you see the sign? I saw the sign. I saw the sign before they posted it on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:51:51 And it's funny. So a Nantucket Quarterboard for those. those who don't know, is a beautiful, historic, inspired little sign. It's a very New England coastal thing. And a lot of the houses are named things. And they're usually like a play on words. They can be like funny or silly or like an inside joke. Sort of how you would name a boat.
Starting point is 00:52:12 Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like kind of like a play on words. Right. And this store put up a quarterboard that said no influencers. And I saw it in person on my way to work. And I laughed at it. I said, what?
Starting point is 00:52:24 Like, is this real? I thought it was actually, like, I laughed. And I was sort of like, what the fuck? I was like, but laughing, what the fuck? Yeah. Took a picture of it. Walked in, took a picture of it. Kept going to work.
Starting point is 00:52:36 Sent it to all my friends. And then somewhere between the store and my store, I was sort of like, is this funny? Like, is this funny? Or is it not? Or is it not? Yeah. And I still have that feeling. Were you going to post it or no?
Starting point is 00:52:51 Oh, no, no, no, no, no. So you didn't post, you just commented. Well, no, so I wasn't going to say anything or do anything. I just took a picture of it as a lot of other people did and was like, oh, whatever. And then it was like a week later I saw it starting to go viral on Instagram. And then I was like, oh, the sign that I already saw. And open the comments. And I just saw this conversation about creators and about who gets, I guess people deciding,
Starting point is 00:53:19 and the thousands of people deciding who got to belong on Nantucket and how people view the creator economy in general. And I didn't think it was going to become this whole conversation. There's things that happen on Nantucket usually stay on Nantucket. It's a very small island. But they posted it. They posted it. They also posted it. Yeah. And that is honestly, it was like a real moment because I don't usually comment on things anymore at all. Like I try to like, you know, again, conversations lack such nuance now that I really was not going to comment on it. And my gut reaction of being someone who couldn't hold on their childhood home. I felt like I earned my way back. I'd open the store. It's doing so well.
Starting point is 00:54:00 I've, you know, it was personal to me because it's this place that I love and because it's this store that I used to go in with my grandmother who's like no longer with us. I was like, we, you know, like, and then the comments, honestly. What the comments were hateful? All that is why I commented. Or like, ugh, influencers are the words? Nastyer than that. If, if the comments below the sign weren't what they were, I wouldn't have said anything. Got you. Because the sign, like, I knew that it was a joke. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:28 I think it's a bad joke, but that's my own opinion. Jokes are meant to be interpreted by the person. You know, I probably said a million bad jokes before. Yeah. So you have no regrets about chiming in. No. Okay. No.
Starting point is 00:54:40 I don't. I don't because even if people didn't like that I spoke or whatever, I think that it was an important conversation. Yeah. I think that it was an important conversation that was far overdue about creator economy, how people view the creator economy, even if it was overwhelmingly negative towards creators, I think that it just needed to happen. And I think that hopefully we can all,
Starting point is 00:55:03 as people who are in this industry, work harder to demand that respect and to show people, not tell people, who we are, how we can act in public. And I think that it was an important conversation. Right. And I'm proud enough of my career, and I think that I've shown
Starting point is 00:55:16 that I'm successful enough in this industry, that if I'm the one forefronting that conversation, I'm fine with it. In a place that I love. Right. It means something to you. It's not like you were in, you know, a corner street in Paris. No.
Starting point is 00:55:29 This is a place that means something to you. Yeah. We'll be right back after the break. Got that egg, egg life. You got that egg, egg life. I'm obsessed with you. I want to be part of the company. I don't understand how they didn't hire me to be chief vibes officer yet.
Starting point is 00:55:47 Like, yes, obviously low carb is a way of, life for me right now. Egg life was a lifesaver and is because their wraps, their egg life wraps are made literally from egg whites. It's not even from the yolk, okay? How healthy is that? Literally amazing ingredients, literally made from egg whites, okay? And now flour even. They're high in protein because you're getting that egg white protein and low in carbs and clean A. F. I've told you guys, I love rolling up about anything in the regular. ones, but I also love the cinnamon ones because I'll make a peanut butter and jelly roll for breakfast for me or for the kids. Literally open one up. I sometimes heat it for like 10 seconds and just
Starting point is 00:56:32 slab some pee-b, slab some jelly and yum, a treat. This all will do also for a snack with like a cup of tea at night. Mm-mm-mm. Zero freaking guilt. You also have more flavors than what I just said. They have an everything, kind of everything but the bagel flavor as well. It's more of a a Chipotle flavor and no extra carbs and no extra calories. You guys are gloom free and dairy-free. No tummy issues. You're seeking in high-quality protein to your favorite meals. It's literally like everyone should have this. Like I am screaming it from the rooftops. Find Egg Life wraps, chilling in the fridge at Aldi Whole Foods. Kroger Target, Walmart. And more visit Egglightfoods.com to find a retailer near you. I order mine on Amazon. I do my grocery shopping, Amazon Whole Foods right to my freaking door.
Starting point is 00:57:23 You guys know I'm into the gut. You know what I mean? Like I'm very aware of the gut. I've become one with my gut. And I've understood how much gut health is like the most important part of our health. Like I, it just imagine just feeling bloated, having digestion issues and not being regular. And how much that affects not only the way you feel in your gut itself, but your whole body. It affects everything.
Starting point is 00:57:48 literally the brain of the body. Okay. Now, Ali, this is where Ali comes in. Ali makes science-backed supplements that support digestive health and regularity. It's just an easy little boost to your day, knowing that you're getting in that extra fiber, knowing that you're getting in that gut support, okay? Like, I've been doing show my arm summer, but I'm ready to fall it up, some sweatas, some peak coats, you get what I'm saying. However, this is also the time where you're like, wait, do I have things? I need to buy new things.
Starting point is 00:59:19 What am I actually going to wear when I have to get dressed for fall? This is where Quinn's comes in. Quinn's so good. They really do the pieces that you keep coming back to, that you wear over and over. Not the trendy thing you buy because you saw it on someone and six months later, you're like, why do I own this? They have quality, really classic, timely stuff. And their whole thing is that it's the good quality without the insane markup.
Starting point is 00:59:45 So you have the super soft organic. cotton, you have the Mongolian cashmere, which are so good and the perfect fall basic that literally is like $50 or less. You guys know when I find something good like that, I want to wear it every day, like that Mongolian cashmere sweater, it's like I wrap it around my shoulders, I put it on, I put it over a t-shirt, I put it without a t-shirt under it. It feels expensive. It looks expensive, but I'm not precious about wearing it because I know that I didn't spend my life's making on it, okay? That's the kind of magic of that. Quince. You know what I love, love, love, a little treat in the middle of a completely normal day. Like, I don't need an occasion. It's Tuesday. I've answered 700 texts. I'm running around. I have 900 things to do. Give me a little something, preferably something that includes caffeine and sugar. Lately, that has been a Starbucks Frappuccino drink. I love having them cold in the fridge because it's coffee, but it's also a treat. It's creamy. It's sweet. It's delicious. It's basically that little moment where I'm like, okay, everyone leave me alone. Okay, for five minutes. I'm having my thing.
Starting point is 01:01:18 Listen, warnings in my house are obviously not calma. Okay, I'm not waking up journaling and meditating. Okay, I'm waking up and I need something into my veins. Having a Starbucks Rappuccino drink ready to grab from the fridge is just, that was a chef's kiss. And it's easy. It's coffee. It's indulgence starting the day on track. I love finding these little, these little moments of joy, okay? Because sometimes those little moments are what count. And some days, that's all you're getting, okay? It doesn't have to be that deep. Sometimes it's literally just a cold, creamy Starbucks brappuccino drink to make you feel like you're at home. Find bottled Starbucks wrapuccino drinks wherever you buy your gas or groceries. Another thing I'm obsessed with,
Starting point is 01:02:03 you can find them anywhere. Ah, what a dream. And we're back. Another thing that I loved about your wedding is no bridal shower. Yep. Which is a very American thing. Is it? Yeah. I feel like in other countries people like love it. No, no, no, no. Rital showers America. Yes. Like the thousand things. By the way, when you have a baby too. Yes. I actually, I was talking to my mom about this. I think baby showers are amazing. Bridal showers. Don't get me wrong. I want a baby shower. I just think it's so, yeah. And what I also love about baby showers is it's like your mom's friends. Like it's like family. Like you could. Yeah. Yeah, like my sisters had like a ton of my mom's friends and grandparents and like older people and younger people and celebrating like a new life. And I think also a way to get some gifts are things that are really expensive for moms.
Starting point is 01:02:53 I think it's a really sweet time to feel celebrated and supported. So what's a bridal shower supposed to do? This is the thing. We now have an engagement and then there's usually something the night of the engagement if your friends are there, whatever. And then you have an engagement party and then you have a bridal shower. and then you have a Bachelorette And then you have... Did you do a rehearsal dinner?
Starting point is 01:03:14 Yes. Okay. And then you have that. Yep. And then you have the wedding. It is... We have lost our goddamn mind. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:21 No, it's insane. Wait, did you say no to your friends? Like, do they want to... They really wanted to do a bridal shower. And I said, I was like, I really don't want to do this. And I thought it was so sweet that they wanted to do that for me. But they were happy when... Like, they wanted to do what I wanted to do.
Starting point is 01:03:34 Yeah. I just think weddings now, like, inconvenience people so much. and it costs so much money to like attend weddings. Yeah. And that's honestly why I chose the venue that I chose because it was people could Uber and sleep at their own. Amazing. Because most of my people are in the East Coast or New York.
Starting point is 01:03:51 So people, if they wanted to, could sleep in their own bed. Yeah. It was Long Island. It was Long Island. And it was on a Tuesday because of the tennis tour, because of the tennis schedule. I would not have had a Tuesday wedding. Although people are like, so chic. She had a Tuesday wedding.
Starting point is 01:04:03 Like, that's so chic. Go, guys, I didn't want a Tuesday wedding. Wait. Thank you. It was either that's really chic or that's really rude. Oh, when people think it's chic, is it because it's like, she's not doing the obvious weekend choice? It's also just, I think, like, wow, like, you must have a lot of people who don't have, like, normal.
Starting point is 01:04:18 Like, it's so stupid. And also, like, the trend that's like, so I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be a hater, but, like, pretty chic when. I know, I don't. I hate that trend. I'm sorry. Like, we're ruining these words. We're ruining these. We're ruining these.
Starting point is 01:04:30 We're ruining. You would never do yellow text. What's yellow text? Oh, my God. Everyone's doing yellow text. What? What? Really?
Starting point is 01:04:39 the show chic is probably written in yellow letters. Oh, it's just like things are in yellow. Things are in yellow. Because it's like cinematic. Because like a lot of the subtitles used to be yellow. Maybe. I'm not on that wave. Oh my God. That's the wave. Oh. Sheik? The sheik thing.
Starting point is 01:04:55 And yellow. Guys. Honestly, though, maybe influencers are the worst. By the way, like Maybe influencers do stop. I feel like if I did see the real whoever said kind of chic on a Tuesday, I'd be like, yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:10 I'd be like, fuck a fucking weekend wedding, you normie. Like, you know? I think, yeah, people really took that. So Tuesday because of, oh, Wimbledon is now? Wimbledon was the weekend, final was the weekend before the Tuesday. Okay, so we have to talk about, because we're almost fucking done, the Wag Life. Yeah. Do you hate that word?
Starting point is 01:05:35 No. Okay. No. Women, what is the, what is it? What? Wives and girlfriend. Oh, wives and girlfriend. And now a wife.
Starting point is 01:05:42 Now you're a wife. Insoffable, yeah. So do you not hate the word? No. Really? No. Explain. How do you have positive relationships?
Starting point is 01:05:51 Why would anyone hate? Like, if you hate that word, then like... No, because maybe it's like putting you like as somebody something. But I feel like you don't have that relationship with it anyway because I feel like you've really enjoyed being. Wait, but by the way, if a woman, like, wants to follow around her man for and support him and not have a job? Okay.
Starting point is 01:06:11 Yeah. That's that woman's life. Yeah. Like, I just think we should stop. You're like, I'm doing both. Yeah, like, but even if I wasn't, like, like, okay, someone is dating a professional athlete and like that's their name, but like I think it's like derogatory because it's woman.
Starting point is 01:06:24 Like I think any of these words, influencer or wag, it's because it's like, it's a lot of feet, like you don't hear people being like hags. There's a lot of husbands of female professional athletes. By the way, they're husbands of successful women. Right. Right. By the way, he is a hag. By the way, fucking hag. She make hagg shirts.
Starting point is 01:06:42 A tag shirt. Tommy's also a hag. Like, why don't we talk about hags? Hags. Hags. Babe, that was so good. Yeah. But you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:06:52 Like, the only reason why there's any negative connotation is because it's a woman. Like, I feel like you're in this new feminist era that I am for you. I am. I am. Like, you really are. It's not intentional, though. No, but I think it's, it really is lovely that you are viewing it that way. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:08 Because like I feel like a lot of people don't want to, like they wouldn't want that word associated or they wouldn't want, you know what I mean? It's like, I have my own thing. And it's like, no, I have my own thing. But I love his thing. And by the way, when I do speak up about, you know, anything about my experience as a woman and which all of ours is very different. I mean, even then I think, I mean, people, you'll never like win in that sense. But I'm just going to keep speaking up, you know, in more like conversations. I do a lot of like this stuff
Starting point is 01:07:38 and talk about this stuff more like in my private life like how the hag thing I've never told anyone that but that's how I think Oh this is you didn't just make it up You've thought about hags before today Well I've just thought about
Starting point is 01:07:50 I've never said this out loud But I've thought about that There are a lot of husbands Of professional athletes Yeah There's a whole woman's tennis store With husbands in the box Yeah
Starting point is 01:08:00 But the wives and the girlfriends Get you know It's just it's more of a negative connotation because it's a woman. But I feel like it also does have a really positive connotation. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:13 Really glam, really chic, really fashion. Yeah. How did you like enter that world? Like you start dating Tommy. Is he like want to come to a game? Like do you care? Like how does that work? We like barely knew each other.
Starting point is 01:08:26 I was like he was asking me to his matches. And did you enjoy it right away? I loved it. I loved it. I was a ski racer. So it was like I was an individual athlete. So I think seeing. And I've never followed tennis
Starting point is 01:08:38 and I didn't know much about it. Seeing another individual sport like that, I immediately fell in love. I was just like, this is the coolest sport. When you ever like, I want to play? Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 01:08:49 Of course. Like you're like, in another life I could have been. 100%. I don't know why I picked ski racing. It's the coldest, like, what was I fucking thinking? No, it's insane. I talk about this all the time. I'm like flying down a mountain in a spandex suit,
Starting point is 01:09:04 freezing my ass off. grind, a grind, but it's definitely, like, made me a dog. Like, I am the way I am because I, like, froze my ass off at the top of a mountain. Right. Like, that was no fucking joke. Right. Also, falling and, like, when you crash, doing, like, downhill ski racing. Was your goal then, I know, like, when you were doing the ski stuff?
Starting point is 01:09:23 Yeah. To go to the Olympics for skiing. Yeah, that's always the goal when you're younger, yeah. I was a better younger skier than I was, like, in high school. Like, my junior was really. good. Like when I was smaller and younger. And then throughout high school, it was pretty clear that I, like, did not have what it took. Like, got you. Yeah, I was like, oh. So you stood out for the younger. I was a really good younger ski racer. And then as I got older, I think I also just had other
Starting point is 01:09:51 interests. So I just got like worse. But it was very clear by sophomore year of high school that I did not have what it took to. Did you, do you remember being like upset about it or? I was so fucking cold that I was like, Honestly, good. Great. I got to go. I'm going to like, I got to go. Can I go to Florida? Like, can I go?
Starting point is 01:10:13 Like, go to the warm? Yeah, like, can I have like a cocktail? I'm like, this is really a lot. Do you like watching other players play or only? Yeah, I like, I'm a true sport. Oh, now you're like, now you're like into it. Oh, obsessed. Obsessed.
Starting point is 01:10:27 It's addictive. It is. You can get into it. Oh, yeah. Like the fandom around tennis is really intense because similar to F1, you're following people. Right. And then you see it's almost like, this is a sign of silly, but like it's not like Pokemon, but it's sort of like you've like two people that like come together.
Starting point is 01:10:43 Yeah. And then you're like with very different personalities that both come out. And then I think people just like love the different matchups. Does Tommy have a ritual? Like I love there. There's so many of them that do, right? Yeah, they're very like. It's a very superstitious sport.
Starting point is 01:10:58 Right. Supercissuous. They have like. He's less superstitious than most. I mean, I know some players like have to eat, like, listen to the same music. Right. He's not really like that. Do you have that on game day for him? No. Like I'll wear the lucky underwear.
Starting point is 01:11:11 I'm very, like I view tennis a very certain way. I show up expecting nothing. Like I don't ever go into a match thinking he's going to win or lose. I'm just there to support him. I treat him the same pretty much if he wins or loses unless it's like a win tournament. Like, what do you mean? Like obviously when he wins, I'm like excited for him.
Starting point is 01:11:33 Right. Got you. it like even killed yeah i want to be like his rock and i think that it's not my place in his life to give him any other we're like damn he could have yeah and it's but it's very easy to become emotionally invested like a lot of other tennis girlfriends and wives i've talked to that it's it becomes your life and i think especially if you are traveling with them full time you feel like when they lose you lose right and when they win you win and i think that's unhealthy And I think for me at least that was not something that.
Starting point is 01:12:08 And in the beginning it was sort of like that. And I think it's such an emotionally taxing sport to watch and then be a part of that closely, which a lot of people might not know. How do you cheer him up if he lost? Just like love him. Yeah. Just love on him. He's like, I should have done this. Or you like, no.
Starting point is 01:12:24 I'm like, also there, I always tell him there's so many matches in a year. There's a tournament every week. Wow. I'm like. Is it ever a break? Not really. There's like three weeks in the winter. Wow.
Starting point is 01:12:34 I'm like on to the next one, babe. Like you... On to the next one. Which is sort of like a... It's a horrible but beautiful part of the sport. There are so many tennis tournaments. Right. How do you decide which ones you go to?
Starting point is 01:12:45 I go to the ones that honestly work with my schedule now. Which he's supportive. Like when you're available. Yeah. And obviously, like, there's some tournaments he tells me he needs me at more. Yeah. Like if he's mentally feeling tired or needs a little bit more like support on the road, I go. Or if it's like a really fancy one that...
Starting point is 01:13:02 Yeah. Yeah. But honestly, like regardless of the aesthetic, like, I'm... I'm choosing to make my schedule and go to the ones that he feels like he needs more support at. And obviously, like the U.S. Open. Right. We're going to go. And Wimbled and I love.
Starting point is 01:13:13 But I have a very healthy relationship with tennis. And I think that I try to be a positive contribution to his team because I'm a part of this journey on a very like a short amount compared to like his whole career. Right. And I think that all I want to do is bring something to the table. And that's sort of how I view like life. Like I want to bring something to the table to his tennis, to our relationship. to work to anything I do. Like if I'm not adding value,
Starting point is 01:13:38 I don't really want to be there. What about the picture of you guys with the trophy? Oh, yeah. I'm obsessed with that. By the way, when something like this happens, like that is sort of like talked about a lot of it. I am making more jokes than anyone. I'm like ripping myself.
Starting point is 01:13:54 Really? Yeah. That whole week after, like I was clawing the fuck out of his neck. We were like making so many jokes about it. But I've learned as I've gotten older, like I have to show that. side on social media because I think that... They might think that you're just, like, upset.
Starting point is 01:14:07 Those are just not that fucking serious. What are we talking about? Yeah. Also, like, the no... Can you explain a little bit what happened? Oh, yeah. I told me won a tournament, Queens, which is like a really beautiful tournament. It's huge trophy.
Starting point is 01:14:17 And in the UK, the reporters are very intense. And, like, the paparazzi and, like, Daily Mail is very... They're very vocal. And they're... Paige, kiss him. You know, crap, like, hold on to him. And I was, like, very overstimulated. By the way, would have done this over-stimulated or not.
Starting point is 01:14:33 I'll claw the fuck out of it. that man. Like, that's my fucking man. We'd do it all again. Cannot wait, by the way, for him to win another tournament because I'm going to do it. I'm going to again. I want to think about me because I'm going to double the fuck down. I'm going to double down. But it was like very overstimulated. And the British press was like to whatever. And by the way, a lot of people were saying that wives of and girlfriends of tennis players don't pose with trophies like this.
Starting point is 01:14:55 That's not true. You can look up all like couple tennis players. They were like, hold the trophy with him, whatever was doing it. Love those photos. And then the last few rounds of photos There was this really awkward angle Where I was sort of like grabbing onto his neck And like posing And it was just like this funny photo and video When viral
Starting point is 01:15:13 Everyone was like holy shit She's clawing the fuck out of his neck Making the whole thing about her death grip I'm like yeah Like You've seen how hot Tommy Like Babe you're lucky I wasn't like choking him out
Starting point is 01:15:28 Like yeah Please please But I should have made a joke about it because I think that... You didn't. I didn't say anything. Did you post the photo? No, but I posted photos.
Starting point is 01:15:40 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I also think if that hadn't happened in like the UK, it wouldn't have been as big of a thing. The British media just like, I mean, we've seen what they've done to Megan Markle. Right.
Starting point is 01:15:48 But it would be funny if you posted the photo and you even were like dead grip. You know what I said I wanted to do? I'm pissed at myself that I didn't do. We were going to get Tommy a neck brace the day after. And like put the neck brace on him and take a photo together
Starting point is 01:16:02 being like, wait. No, miss, no, it's really upsetting. You know, when you like leave something and you're like, I should have. Totally. Yeah. But I think I vote for all the things that you're doing big things and all the continued success. But I love the idea of sprinkling in. Jokes.
Starting point is 01:16:23 Part of you. Yeah. I know. Yeah. I think it's hard when I love, honestly, maybe you could give me some advice. Like, I love. I think I view Instagram as like a digital magazine where like I'm the editor of it. Right.
Starting point is 01:16:37 And I love posting like beautiful things. I know. And the neckvice just won't go. You're like it won't go with the feed. No, but like it would have. Like I don't know how to like because I don't have a podcast. And I have like a YouTube that's also like my home life and it's more homemaking. Like I don't know what platform.
Starting point is 01:16:54 Also like when I'm about to like crack a joke or just doing funny, I'm not like. Right. Okay. Like let's now to crack the joke. By the way, that's the other thing I love that I saw that you. You didn't like have your engagement filmed really, right? No. You didn't have like phones out and everything.
Starting point is 01:17:07 So I love that. I'm more like normal too. Like I also don't like filming a lot of stuff. Like I like having a real life. Yeah. It's just weird. Like if I had a reality show or a podcast, I think people would know more about like who I really am.
Starting point is 01:17:22 But I don't have those platforms. So like I have to like set up a tripod and like fucking like crack a joke. It's tough. Right. The tripod. Like maybe I need a podcast. Ooh. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:31 Well, don't say it. And Lauren and Michael will hear you at Dear Media. And they'll fucking have you. Sorry, we have a call. Okay, before we go, biggest pinch me moment of everything that's happened so far is there one. Okay, we're going to put my wedding aside. Yes.
Starting point is 01:17:48 That's like so fucking boring. Yeah, yeah. Like, okay, yeah, like great. No one cares. Opening a store in Antucket. I mean, like, I am constantly moving the goalpost for my own success in my career, which is sort of really exhausting for everyone around me. I rarely take a moment to like celebrate accomplishments.
Starting point is 01:18:06 Oh, that is a... It's really exhausting. I need to work on it. And I think that that store, my parents there, with like a photo of my grandparents on the wall. And like we had the sign up, like the house sign, the quarterboard for my grandparents' house. And just like how beautiful the store is,
Starting point is 01:18:22 how popular the store has been. Like, I can't believe it. And it is like truly the thing that I am so proud of. And I think that that opening, the store right before my wedding was like very pivotal for me. It's like a real place that I can go and meet people and it's a beautiful store. Our clothes are high quality. They're affordable. Like it is truly like I feel like even when I get criticism about anything, I'm like, okay, well, I have the most insane beautiful store in Antucket full of like the things I'm most proud of.
Starting point is 01:18:52 It's like, what the fuck could you say to me? You're like, that's your dream comes true right there. It's like physical and tangible. I needed that. Yeah. I needed that in purpose. person thing. Yeah. And I think that also I needed to like meet people in person. And I'm spending a lot of time in the store. I'm, I'm there and I'm meeting people and it's just been very grounding for me. That's amazing. Yeah. So that's how do people know when you're going to be there? Do you think? I kind of just pop up. But if you see me like a storying flying down into Nantucketka, you could probably guess I'll like be there. But I did for like we had a tie-dye event and I said I was going to be there and I tied with the girls. And it was really fun. What's the next goal then?
Starting point is 01:19:27 If you're always another store. Another store. multiple stores. Yeah. Fucking killing it. Thank you. I'm so happy for you. Thank you so much. Congratulations.
Starting point is 01:19:37 I'm going to have to do those check-ins about the- Oh, every baby. I'm going to come back. Every baby. And I have to bring them with me. And it's just they're going to start stacking. She's like, ah. Yeah.
