And I'm your host, Amanda, here to bring you the latest in all pop culture news, celebrity gossip, reality TV recaps, anything happening in Hollywood right now that I just can't keep my mouth shut about. This is not skinny, but not fat. There's a special episode this week, you guys. I was actually invited by Bravo and their official podcast, The Daily Dish, to do a VPR summer recap. Yes, yes, you are hearing correctly.

We need to talk about everything that went down with our favorite castmates this summer from engagements, bachelor parties, weddings, cast members leaving. prepping for the eighth season coming up in the fall we caneth wait i had so much fun with the daily dish host megan sigura recapping vanderpump rules this past summer had so much fun so much passion excited for you guys to hear it so enjoy i'm so excited you're here because i've sort of been going through vanderpump rules withdrawal same i mean how long has it been now? How long have we been without the show? Well, how long have you been? Because I'm a late bloomer. I don't know if you know. I know. I'm a late bloomer. I started binging Vanderpump in I think January. Oh. It took me until probably May. Okay. Wait, when was the season

finale again? Remind me? Oh, God. When was it? May. It was in May. So I, like, was hurrying to catch up and I did such a like crazy binging job that I was like not following anyone until I was like all caught up. I was like insane. Okay, I have to know, as you were binging, were you looking up real life corresponding stories or anything? Or real life, real time. No, that's the thing. I took it so seriously. I'm a person that hates spoilers. So that's one of the things like I managed to not know even that like Ariana and Tom were together, you know? Right. And my followers on not skinny, but not fat are so sweet. No one ruined it for me.

Oh. No one wrote me like, okay, this is what's going down, you weirdo, who like, you're just now finding out that like Stasi and Jax were together 10 years ago. So it was a journey for me. I hashtaged myself VPR ambassador. I was so obsessed. Oh, I love that. No one even told me, girl, again, you're seven years late.

You can't be a VPR ambassador now. But I just fell in love with the show. I was like, how wasn't I there with them from the beginning, living and breathing this. So I recently got a friend to start watching from the beginning, and he will text me from time to time with, like, his big takeaways, like, you know, the things that stuck out to him. So I have to know, like, what were the things that you just... I love reality TV, and I feel like Vanderpump Rules is just the embodiment of everything you can want in reality TV. It's like young, hot people, check, constant drama. Constant. Without even having to, like, create anything. I mean,

what reality show do you have like people cheating on each other every single episode? That's how I sell it to people. I was like every single episode, someone cheats on someone. Like in the first seasons, it's like insane. I wasn't able to like breathe sometimes. I was so shocked at the drama that was going down. You know, like when Kristen and Jacks hooked up, I know this is like so long ago. No, no, no. I'm looking for this. When Kristen and Jacks hooked up and Stasi was, I mean, it was a square, not a love triangle. a Love Square and then Ariana and Tom and everyone hooking up with everyone and then girls hooking up with girls. And it was just like, I mean, what more could you want?

Absolutely nothing. What is your sort of take on Jacks Taylor? Again, going back to me not like being connected to Earth when I started, I remember one of the first things I put up was like, do he like him? Like, he's cute. He is so cute. Okay, I went back to my highlights to prepare for this because I put highlights for every season. And Jacks was so hot for a season. He was hot and put aside everything we know about him today.

I still, when I talk about Vanderpump, I don't dislike anyone. It's like this weird love that I have for the show that it's like every single person is a character and they bring different things with them. And I know they're real people, but it's not like I judge them as harshly as I would if like I knew them. You know what I mean? It's like Jack says horrible things, but I'm still like, Jacks. Well, let me tell you. And I tell people, he is my favorite person. person to interview. And so my friend who's been watching the show, he's like, but he's a terrible

person. I'm like, no, it's like when he sits down and I look into his eyes. Yeah. What do you see? He's just like a charming guy who's just doing the best he can. He is doing the best he can. And you know, James Kennedy, who was like the jacks of the last couple of seasons, like, I don't have bad feelings towards him. Like, you know, he's doing the best he can. He tries, then he like implodes, and then he tries again and then he implodes again. And I can say like, oh, he said shitty things or, but it's just like I have this sort of like unconditional acceptance for every character. It's crazy.

Wow. Should we talk about what the headlines have been in this time without Vanderpumptuels? I mean, because you've, you've just recently lost it. I've been without it for a whole summer. I know. And you know better than I do, but I'm like waiting for season eight. Oh, it's coming. It sure is.

Yes. And I'll be in. real time, which for me will be a total first. So I'm super, super excited. You're going to hate it because you're going to be like, I have to wait each week. I know. It's hard now to watch also any other reality show because I also love, you know, housewives and I watched, I started Summer House and I started Southern Charm now. And, you know, about Southern Charm, I'm like, I'm waiting, you know, I'm on the second season. I'm waiting. I'm waiting for it to Vanderpump me. I love it. I'm obsessed with the characters. They're all amazing. But I need some like,

scandals. And everyone's like, it's coming, Amanda. It's coming. Relax. It's coming. So I'm excited. Okay. So first, you saw the last reunion. Jacks really went in on James. I know. Everyone did, though. True. Jacks has since apologized to James. I saw that. Thoughts? I mean, I think Jacks is like a master apologizer, you know? Has he ever like not apologized for anything? I mean, it's just like those apologies if they were like coming from anyone else, I'd be like, they're going to be best friends, but it's like, he doesn't really mean it. You know what I mean? Like, I think that watching it back, I'm sure a lot of the cast members were probably like, I'm assuming people were like poor James. I mean, they ambushed the hell out of him in that reunion. It was like equivalent to

Luanne and Proney, you know? So true. That is such a great comparison. It was just like the whole, and it's a three part, you know, and still it's like comes back to. to James, comes back to James, comes back to James. And I told you, I feel for him because he's like a little kid who's like just trying to hold it together. So I hope that he meant it, but I feel like it's just, he also then, remember when he bought him underwear and then like an episode later was like mocking him and like not being nice? So I feel like I hope that it lasts, but we'll see.

We'll see. We're going to take a quick break and do your iPad. So Lala apparently reached out to James after the reunion also. Yeah, I saw that they were, they also like insta photo together. Yeah. They instiposed it. I love that. I love their friendship.

Me too. I love their friendship. And I feel like he has such a giant ego. Because remember, she tried to like reconcile five different times. Oh, for sure. So what's your take? Like, do you think he's just like still in love with it? Like, why can he not, like, be like, I don't even, what did she even do to him?

Yeah, I think he feels been out of shape. Maybe that she became friends with the other people that once, like, scorned her, and he was there for her. True. They were, like, the underdogs. Yes. Yeah, true. And she got so accepted and she's so loved by everyone. That's a good point.

That could be it. I also feel like he kind of loves her. Oh, 1,000%. I love her. I love her, too. And she's so cool. And she would, like, chill with him at the studio. and I love their song

I love that I might have listened to it like the other day I think she's good I think she's a good performer and I really would want to see their friendship because I feel like they vibe they have like a different like chiller friendship

that's like a different dynamic than the friendships we see on the show but we also saw this again we saw I remember a few months ago a photo of them in the studio and then stuff happened again when they so again with them you never know but I was really happy

to see photos of that I also saw that Katie tagged James in a story, and I was like, what is going on? Right, the guy that you wanted fired. She tagged him. Wow. I know. Okay, well, while we're talking about James, like, this is great for me because I can just ask someone with a fresh perspective. Was it about the pasta?

Okay, so I asked every single person in the world, and I still don't believe them. I even asked, who else did I ask? Well, I asked Katie, she was like, it's about the pasta. I asked Sheena She said it was about the pasta Sheena's like best friend was there And I was like You didn't sign any contracts

Like is it about the pasta? She's like it's about the angel hair pasta Like it really is And I was like I can't I won't accept it So I won't accept it Okay I'm sorry I can't

Fair It's about the pasta Like I think I was sort of like Maybe it's about the pasta Until Ariana said Look we do have a code word for drugs But that's not it. And I'm like, well, if you already have a code word, now I don't believe you.

And also it makes sense. I don't know if we're talking about a certain drug and lines and like a squiggly long thing. I just like, it connects too much. And even though people like to say Raquel is dumb, it's really hard for me to envision the scene they're creating, which is Lale ate some of her pasta. Raquel thought it was really disrespectful because it's really good pasta. Like, that's what I'm told. And that's where everything I also just don't buy that these girls are eating pasta. Like, hello, and cheeseballs. Like, no, you're in filming season.

This isn't. Well, Raquel is a supermodel, so, you know. Okay, so their new track, if Lala and James are truly reconciled, and this is what you're talking about, the photo of them in the studio, would be ride with me. I'm just having it in my head as anybody like I'm feeling you, but ride with me. Like, I'm due with it. But I like when he, like, wraps. I don't know. Like, I like it.

Have you heard Top Man? No, should I? Yes. Like, I legitimately like his music. Like, I'm sorry, he is talented and, like, he really, you know, he messed up when he rapped about, I didn't like when he did that, when he rapped about when Jack, Buck, Pate. So when he did that, I was like, because Brittany is so sweet. It's so sweet.

And she was like, I could just imagine being there supporting someone. She has, like, those big eyes. And she's like, all, well, she was innocent. I don't think she can be innocent anymore with that group. but and she was just probably like in the front like sort of like dancing and then he's like does that and that to me was like one of the most messed up things you know ever aside from calling Katie fat which as a woman I was like you can call me ugly you can call me stupid if you call me fat and on TV and on TV it's just so he did a couple things like I said I feel bad for him he's

had a hard situation in life and coming for him the way people did because so many of the cast members messed up, you know, if we go there. Everyone has been crazy, done wild shit. Like, they screwed each other over so many times. So it's like, he's not the only person that like, and that's, and on the flip side, I don't blame Katie for giving the ultimatum. Like, whatever, they all did that kind of shit, you know? Everyone got everyone fired. Everyone got everyone in trouble. It's like, whatever. Okay. So I am not exactly sure what we're seeing this season of Vanderpump Rules, the upcoming one. But I'm hoping it includes

this joint bachelor-bachelorette party that Jacks and Brittany and all of them went on in Miami. Wow, yeah. Do you think it's going to be cray-cray? Oh, it has to be. It has to be crazy. What was your favorite group trip?

That's a good question. I'm trying to, they're all going through my head right now. They're all like the same also. Right. It's like either Mexico, right, it's not like they went to like Costa Rica all of a sudden. They're either going to, like, Mexico. They're driving a Vegas or they're going to, well, now Miami.

Yeah, it's either Stasi's birthday or someone's getting married. Wait, where were they? I think they were in Mexico where they went to that club and literally everyone made out. Oh, yes. Kristen and Ariana made out. That was my favorite. And then Ariana was so cute and she got home. She was so drunk and she got back and she was like lying on the floor.

And Tom, who loves her so much is like, you're just the cutest thing. He's like, I got to call the, the cuteness police. Oh, Sandy. Do you love them together? I do. And I'm really happy because I'm such a like, loyalty is so number one for me. So even though I love them so much and in my head I'm like, I want to be best friends with them. I was like, I couldn't be, I couldn't like accept this like cheating going on.

Like that everyone kind of like lives. Oh, he cheated on her. Like so I'm happy to know that that never panned out like the Miami girl storyline. And hopefully I really hope that Tom has always been loyal. But Ariana, do you remember her? She was like, he didn't do him. She like didn't care. She, like, believed him.

I was like, um... Well, she just hopped on the back of his bike and they just... She didn't... And that's it. I was like, this girl is confident. Yeah. Speaking of... Doing a little transition there for you.

Yeah, do it, please. Confident Ariana, who's perfect, just did a little, like, embellishment we found out today. Oh, her jawline. Jawline, which, like, getting rid of the double chin. Like the gobble-wobble, but she didn't even have anything. I'm so, like, anti-the-plastic surgery craze that goes on today that people. People need to, like, perfect. So you have a little, a little, little, little fun.

Little fun. But I'm sure it's, like, not invasive. But if she feels more confident, she has, like, for some weird reason, insecurities about her the way she looks sometimes and her vagina sometimes. So, yeah, that. Blala made her feel better about that real quick. That was, if you were going to ask me, what the most shocking thing for me for Vanderpompe, it was that.

I thought you were going to say which sex tape I would pay for. It would be that. And I'd be like, me too. Same. That too, but I was, because again, going back to the loyalty, like, cheating, cheating, cheating, cheating. I was just envisioning this, like, as poor Tom. Like, he also kind of painted when Ariana and Lala, when Lala went down on Ariana in the backseat. I remember, like, not believe, like, trying to picture that situation where he's picking them up, he's not drunk.

She's like, hey, I'm going to go down to your girl real quick. He's like, not that into it, but whatever. He, like, I just sort of picked. Just because, you know, he is such a crier. I just picture like a single tear rolling down as he's driving them. I love him, though. I love when he gets so emotional. Yes.

Yeah. Like the battered wife scene. Also a favorite. It's so good. Just kicking that bathroom door. But you know that it took me, well, obviously I posted it, but it took me like rewatching that, be like, he's taking a shit. I had no idea either.

I thought he was like on. I thought he was like, uh, like he was just sitting there bummed and crouched over. He was taking a. a shit. Oh, God. See why we miss you, Vanderpump. Come back. You've got to come back.

I doubt this would be on the show. But the fact that Lisa Vanderpump, Ariana, Sandoval, Katie, and Schwartz were all on family feud against Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. They're so lucky. You think it won't be. Who's lucky?

Who's lucky in that situation? The Vander Crew, I mean, I love them, but being against Chrissy Teigen and having her be such a fan of the show and go to Tom Tom, even though she didn't hop on the back of the, what's it called, his sidecar. She didn't get on Sandy's sidecar. But no, that seemed really cool. I didn't watch it.

I should watch it. I didn't watch it either. We need to watch it. I need to know your thoughts on this. Brittany had a Disney princess themed bridal shower. Yeah. I'm not so into that. I'm a simple girl.

See, like, my favorite game to play with friends is perfect partner butt. And my first hypothetical is always perfect partner, but like they're a Disney person. No. Because it's a very specific kind of person. Can you put that aside to be with your perfect person? I mean, I don't think Jacks cares, but I think I don't have any friends that are, like, obsessed with Disney, if you know what I mean? I do.

You do. Yeah. How are you still friends with them? Right? I just, the whole hashtag and the whole thing, I'm not that kitchy of a lot. a person when it comes to marriage and like relationships. You know what I mean? I just feel like, I mean, now we have Stasi's new hashtag. Wait, what is it? From dark to Clark. Oh.

And the thing is she, when she was talking about her engagement in her marriage, she does talk about in a kind of chill way, surprisingly. She's like, you know, I kind of more so want to have a baby. And like, she's saying all this stuff, then I'm like, yeah. And I liked Katie's approach to her wedding. It was chill. It was like in this like old foresty thing. They all slept in these gross cabins or something. But it was like pretty and charming and she didn't have a hashtag then or actually married. Rumors were they weren't really married. Why wouldn't they have been really married? Well, Lance Bass. Who's BFF with them, BT Dubs. Well, and Lisa Vanderpump, like he's very entrenched in the Broadway world. I know. It's very weird that him and Jacks are like

besties like it's kind of hard for me to to like imagine but he spat out on some interview that he was in like well i hope jackson brunny actually got married unlike tom and katy and this went like viral and people were like they're not really married and oh blah blah and i was like it's not that dramatic like they had a ceremony they're committed they probably didn't sign the paper what was jacks and brittany's jack's got it right which took me a minute too sometimes i'm so blonde with these things i'm like trying to read it i forget that brittney is like cart right right right it like kind of didn't ring but if i i got married in 2015 so there were hashtags weren't a thing but i don't think i do a hashtag nor do i think i do a disney princess

thing god i hope that but which disney princess would you be no are you kidding all right so what did you think when the wedding photos came out of jackson brittney i thought i thought she really wanted this like she was one of those girls she said like I envisioned my wedding for like, you know, and I remember she was interviewed. I'm not going to do a Southern accent anymore. She was interviewed, I guess, and they asked her, like, who were you envisioning? And she was like, I never, like, she's one of those girls that was, you know, since she was a kid, just wanted that day, wanted that wedding, wanted that huge dress, wanted that castle. So, I mean, I'm happy for her.

She got everything she wanted the castle. It was beautiful. It was like majestic. It looked amazing. and I hope that their marriage looks like that, you know what I mean? We're going to take a quick break and do your iPad. Even though I feel like the attention is always on the bride, I couldn't stop thinking, Jacks looks like season one Jack's here.

Jacks literally, I feel like, went on a bride diet for this wedding. I kept on saying because I talk a lot about like, how men get big head syndrome like Mel Gibson, Alec Baldwin, their heads kind of grow. Yeah, you're not talking about ego. You're talking about physically. It's like a lollipop head syndrome. Yes, it gets wider. Think about it. Look it up. You'll be shocked. Even Leo DiCaprio was good, like his head is getting big. Jacks was getting a huge freaking head. You know, all the roids, all of this, all of that. And all of a sudden he was getting like teeny tiny in photos. I was kind of shook it. And I think that with the,

kind of, if there wasn't so much Botox, I feel like we could see season one Jacks, maybe he needs to shave his head again. I like that look. What did you? Okay, you just said Botox, it triggered a memory that Andy told Sheena he thinks her Botox is aging her.

Oh my God. He did say that to her. I feel bad for Sheena sometimes. I mean, but I kind of agree with him. Yeah? I feel like the it gets to a point where it doesn't look natural. It just looks like you're trying but she is young

she is young that's why I don't get the Botox craze I really don't I think she looks great she wants to look like 25 but she's like 33 or something but she it was funny when I did her podcast one of the first things she asked me is like okay does it look like I got anything done

like be honest and I was like well because I guess people talk like in the comments that she got more stuff done than just like Botox and colors and I was like well you're so honest about your Botox and fillers, like, so that's what you have. And she

doesn't mind that, but I think she doesn't like when people think she did, like, actual invasive plastic surgery. That doesn't make sense to me, but, like, I don't do any of it, so I don't know. I know, me neither. And I really think, I love seeing forehead lines, like, when I see Jennifer Garner post things and her

forehead moves, it, like, literally, it's like, it excites me to see foreheads move today. It's, like, too much, you know? And they don't need it. They don't need it. but she feels better that way. Okay, so even though their relationship hasn't been that documented in the show, I have to assume you have feelings about Lala and her relationship with Randall. Rand.

Rand. I feel like we'll see him this season. I hope so. I hope so, too. And I feel like, because I feel like just from Instagram, like, he's like around more. You know what I mean? I feel like he's been at events. I feel like he was just, where was he just?

Maybe at Jackson's, like 40th, which I'm sure is filmed. Like, it says 40, by the way, everyone. What the hell? It's going to be an exciting time when they all start having babies. But I think at the beginning with Lala, like, again, flashbacks to me putting her up and being like, you guys, what am I going to think about Lala? And people, everyone, it was unanimous, were like, you're going to love her, you're going to not like her, you're going to like her again, you're going to love her. Then she's going to annoy you. But then you go, so she has her moments, and she has her moments also, you know, the face.

is seen that 50, aka 50, put up where she tells us about how she met Rand and how that went down. That sort of sparks a little bit of, you know, okay, Lala. Like, I want to believe that she truly loves him and that relationship is pure and based on all the good stuff. But, you know, I know a lot of girls that it doesn't negate loving them. So the fact that Lala would only date someone that could fly her in a PJ doesn't mean that she doesn't also want to like them. Yeah, mutually exclusive. So I hope so.

Yeah. Right. Okay, but then what do you think about the fact that she deleted all of her photos with Rand on Instagram? She said it was to protect him. And they don't follow each other, which is weird. So like, what does that mean? They don't follow each other, and I put something up about it.

And Katie Maloney Schwartz answered me, and she was like, L.O.L., they just don't follow each other. There's nothing there. And I'm like, that's weird, though. Why? Like, I think what I dug a little deeper and what I kind of, what kind of surface is that, like, they don't want that to, like, create drama or something or, like, add anything to, like, but I think the only picture she kept is the, their engagement photo. Right. Okay.

So that sends a message of its own. It's, it is kind of weird because, like, what, why? What's the deal? And people, if you remember, I had several reunions and on the show. get frustrated with Lala about that. Like, share more about your life, share more about your relationship. Like, we're all on here practically, like, in a giant sex tape. Like, and you're not even showing your man.

Yeah. Your man. Your man. Only she can pull it off really. I know. It's true. Like, I tried the third person thing. I tried my man.

I tried big hoops. Tried it all. Can't pull off what Lala can pull off, unfortunately. Billy Lee says she's no longer working at Sir. Thoughts? I feel bad that I didn't connect with her because I'd love to be like, wow, they brought this transgender character and she was so amazing and cool. But I feel like she came on and there was that activist part and there was that. The only storyline I liked with her was that she was kind of dating Jeremy Maddox. Love that.

Yeah, that was interesting. That was interesting. And I didn't really understand. I'm trying to understand more why she was so upset about not being invited to that night at Katie's. I sort of took it. Like, again, I take this stuff really seriously. So it's like, if I was having something in my house, like, I'd want my friends at my house. Yeah.

Like they're filming with her, but she was so offended that they didn't invite her to plan the girls' night thing. I can understand where she's coming from, but I don't think it was intentional on the girl's part, you know what I mean? But I think that it was just too much for her to handle, like, and I think she just probably wasn't socially as, like, vibing with everyone, you know? And I feel like that made her feel sort of triggered those bad things, you know what I mean? But I don't think, I really think, and I talked about this before, this group, like, is not transphobic, not homophobic at all. Like, we saw them, you know, the day that Orlando shooting happened, like, how much they were crying and how much they cared.

and the gay pride parades every year. So I really didn't see any of that there. I think she didn't vibe with them. And I think sometimes she tried to create drama where there wasn't. Right. I'm not going to miss her. Sorry. Okay.

This is going to be my last Vanderpump question, but it's probably the most important. Mary F*** Kill. Jacks, Sandiball, Schwartz. I've given this a lot of thought in my life. Okay. This is going to sound weird because I think most people would kill Jacks. I'm not killing him.

I think I'm fucking. I say the same thing. Really? Because you know he's good at it. Yes. Yes. That's what I say too. Because like I said, given this a lot of thought.

So at first I was like, fuck Schwartz. And I was like, I'm not sure about that. So I'm fucking Jacks. That's for sure. Weird to say. Then between Schwartz and Sandy, it was a hard decision as well. But like I talked to you about loyalty. So I'm killing Schwarzy.

Because you feel like Santa Ball would never stray. Right. and we know Schwartzie's straight and he gets blackout and forgets. That still doesn't, it still counts Schwarzy, okay? And so I couldn't marry him. I feel like Sandy is just, I'm sure he's a lot to handle in his moments of like shaving his forehead and like taking longer to get ready than you. But I also feel like he's just, he loves Ariana and he's a loving partner and hasn't strayed. So that's mine.

Is yours the same? I marry Schwartz. No, stop. up. Why? I need to know why. There's something about him that I adore so much. Like, he was, to me, the most adorable until Bo came along. And then Bo, like, a little bit, like, knocked him down. But I love Schwartz. Even though he, like, got lost and didn't come home and blacked out. But there's some kinks to work out. I'm not denying that. You would work through it together. Okay, okay, fine. I won't convince you to marry Sandy. That's fine.
