Welcome to another edition of Not Your Father's Data Center.
We are joined today by an esteemed cast of characters.
When I talk about the people who yell at me for mentioning the date when I record,
this is the team that yells at me about the date.
They're saying, Raymond, don't say what day you recorded it.
So joining us today,
this is not just an American basketball show. We had to go international. We have both Quebec and
Ontario on the line. So Frances, hit lead off. Tell us who you are, where you are, what you do,
and why you're so passionate about March Madness. Thank you for introducing me. I'm the Director of
Marketing Operations here at Compass. I no longer yell at you. That's
now London's job. She can talk about that. There you go. Yep, good, good. All right. I'm based out of
Montreal and super passionate about March Madness. Basketball, right? Yeah, yeah. Over and under.
How many, real quick, hold on, and under. How many? Just real quick. Hold on. Real quick.
How many college basketball games have you been to just this year alone, Frances?
I could count them on one hand.
On one hand.
It's been a soft year.
It's been a soft year.
Okay.
Very good.
Let's keep it in Canada.
Tavia representing our second province in Canada over there in Ontario. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
What do you do? Where are you? How long have you been at Compass? And tell us about what you bring
to this conversation about American college basketball. Oh, wow. Yeah. My expertise is
limitless. And I'm coming from Toronto, Toronto, home the rafters. Up until today, I thought March
Madness was an NBA thing. Turns out it's not. Turns out college basketball is different than
the NBA. Folks will be hanging on the edge of their seat waiting for your picks. Yeah, definitely,
definitely. Very educated. I am the digital media coordinator for Compass Data Centers.
I'm, again, coming from Toronto.
I just want to make sure I'm answering all your questions there, Raymond.
No, you nailed it in Toronto.
I mean, we'll give you, just so we can level set everybody, just this year alone.
So, I mean, I know we're only halfway through March.
This year alone, how many college basketball games have you attended in person?
Okay.
All right.
We're on a roll.
We're on a roll.
I'm noticing a theme.
London, thank you for joining us.
We are back down below the frozen border down here in the lower 48.
Tell us where you're calling from, what you do,
and just go ahead and lead off with how many college basketball games have you been to this year?
This year, zero, but I did go to one or two last year.
Oh, all right.
Zero this year, though.
There you go.
Very good.
All right.
Where are you?
I'm located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
So in the south, the complete opposite of Canada.
Complete opposite.
The other end of the continent.
Yeah, exactly.
And yes, I am the one that yells at Raymond, even though I try to keep it to a minimum.
But yeah, I've taken that title over from Francis and I am the marketing specialist
at Compass.
All right.
Baton Rouge.
I mean, let's just, can we have a moment for Pete Maravich?
I mean, is there ever been a better college basketball? And by the way, no disrespect to Shaquille O'Neal,
but has there been a better basketball player to come out of Baton Rouge than Pete Maravich?
I mean, I know Tavia where she comes down on this.
Oh yeah. I mean, Tavia probably has better insight.
Yeah. Yeah. I am biased. I do love Shaquille O'Neal.
Yeah. Love Shaq, but I think Shaq's got to be number two.
I mean, they do play in the Maravich Center in Baton Rouge.
I mean, and by the way, love Shaq, think he's awesome.
But, I mean, Maravich did average 41 a game in college.
I mean, I didn't mean to drop that stat.
I know Frances had it on the tip of her tongue.
It was right on the tip of my tongue, almost there.
I knew it was coming out. Yeah. But
anyway, definitely basketball country down there, London. And we love Coach Dale Brown. What a
legend he is. And love that you guys are in the SEC with us. All right, let's get to March Madness.
You know that all of our technology customers, all of our listeners. Both of them are dying to know what we have to say about college
basketball. So let's get into it. Let's see, playing games today. I know I'm going to get
yelled at for telling you that. We're recording Tuesday, March 14th. They'll be playing games
today and tomorrow and the tournament will kick off live this weekend. And we thought we'd get
together and talk about college basketball. All right. so we're going to lead off first with some –
we're going to kind of ease into this, guys.
We're going to start off with some of the hardest-hitting
and the most important basketball stuff.
Let's start with the mascots.
There's a bunch of mascots in this tournament, ones that you love,
ones that you think are hokey, ones that you think are corny.
So let's start off with who is your favorite mascot when you look at the brackets today?
London, why don't you head first, your favorite mascot in the tournament.
This one was hard for me because I don't really have a favorite.
I feel strongly about least favorite.
So I think what I'm going to do.
Your Tigers are in the tournament.
How could you not say Tigers?
I know, but I didn't want to be biased.
So if bias is out the window, then I'm going to go, obviously, LSU.
I am geared towards I like colleges with live mascots,
and LSU does have Mike the Tiger on campus, which I think is pretty cool.
Go Tigers.
So, yeah, I'll go LSU then.
I just was trying not to be super biased.
No, you can be biased.
You are coming from Baton Rouge.
Tavia, your favorite mascot in the event.
Yeah, Smokey, easily.
Similar to London.
Smokey?
I didn't see that coming.
Smokey.
Okay, well, for two reasons, okay?
Dogs all the way.
Yeah.
But they have a lot of dogs.
Way better than cats.
Which is real cool.
Well, I am a cat and dog person.
I can't pick a favorite.
I do have two cats.
I did grow up with dogs.
The cats aren't listening.
You can rep the dogs.
They're not listening.
I will say dogs are more loyal.
That has been my experience.
And Smokey is just a cutie.
I don't know what kind of dog he is.
He seems like a hound.
And I love that the mascot has
an orange tuxedo.
Easily the best dress.
I love that they've got the live doggo
and the mascot going. So cool.
Smokey's a good pick.
Even if I can't stand to listen to Rocky Top,
Smokey's a good pick.
It's going to be hard to top Smokey.
That's somebody who did their research, Francis, showing up with Smokey.
I picked TCU Horned Frog.
Oh, right here in Accompas' hometown.
Yeah, I like it.
I thought it was so alien looking.
He's a jacked frog, too.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A frog on steroids yeah also kind of reminded me of the villain in monsters inc which is my favorite character in that movie yeah there
you go yeah that's a good reference i thought it was kind of unsettling but like in a cute way
yeah who doesn't love a good pixar movie Yeah. I mean, the scream tanks and all that stuff, so good.
Matter of fact, we might do a whole Pixar episode on the podcast at some point.
Oh, I'm ready for that one.
I think we have more to offer.
Yeah, we can do it.
How's the three good Pixar?
Yeah, we're definitely, all right.
So we got tigers, we got Smokey, and we got the horned frogs.
Certainly the folks here in Dallas are going to love your Horned Frog pick.
I'm going to be just like London.
I'm going with the homies.
I am taking my boy, Aubie, the Auburn Tiger.
Hard for me to pick anybody other than that.
We'll stick with our mascot theme.
There are some horrendous mascots in this tournament.
It was so bad that I had to pick two for my worst,
but Frances will let you hit leadoff for the worst.
Providence Friar.
The Friars.
They made my honorable mention team.
Yeah.
Oh, it's really scary.
It just really freaked me out.
I saw some pictures where they lift it up off the ground.
There's something very Illuminati about the whole thing.
Yeah, it's definitely not good.
CFR stuff happening there, there's no question.
All right, London, we don't like the Friars.
London, who are you out on?
Funny enough, the Friars was my second option,
but I really don't like Iona University.
Yeah, Iona.
He's got like a chin strap.
The Gales.
What's a Gale?
Yeah.
What is it?
When you look it up, his name's like Killian of Gale or something.
Yeah, it's rough.
I don't like it.
So I'm going to – I had two, but that's one of my two.
The Gales is definitely – I'm out on the Gales.
Tavia?
Mine's going to be controversial.
For me, it's going to have to be.
If you say tigers, we're dropping you from the recording.
No, no.
Purdue Pete is weird to me.
And I feel like there's a lot of missed opportunities with that mascot.
Yeah, and what is a Boilermaker?
I mean, come on, guys.
You're going to celebrate the fact that a guy builds locomotives?
I mean, very weird.
It's strange.
And if you're going to do it, like at least give the guy a mask, like a welder's mask or some cool, you know, he just like has a helmet and a hammer.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm with you.
I'm definitely out on the Boilermakers.
This is why people dial in twice a year to hear our sports preview shows is because of this kind of in-depth analysis.
I'm going to bring you right now something.
Definitely the Gales were on my short list.
The Friars were on my short list.
But this is the worst mascot in the tournament.
They will have the biggest loss on the first weekend because their mascot is so horrible.
The Northern Kentucky Norse.
Oh, yes.
The Norse.
What is it?
I mean, really?
We're making a loose reference to the northern
Germanic tribes
in the 8th century? Really?
In northern Kentucky? I mean, do you think
anyone in northern Kentucky knows what a Germanic
tribe is?
I mean, come on.
That seems a little snobbish.
That seems a tiny bit snobbish.
No, it's... Okay, fair enough. I probably took it a little... Coming from an open snobbish. That seems a tiny bit snobbish. No. Okay.
Fair enough.
I probably took it a little.
Coming from an open snob, even I.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, let's be fair.
I was educated in lower Alabama, so I'm not casting stones from my glass house.
But, I mean, the Norrs, really?
Come on.
All right.
Well, we've gotten the horrible mascots out of the way.
Let's keep chugging along.
Let's get to basketball because that's why everybody's dialed in.
They want to know who we're picking.
Let's look at the regions.
We've got the east, the west, the midwest, and the south.
All of us got a chance to look at the brackets and go, okay,
which bracket has got the most horsepower in it?
So we'd like to know which bracket you like the most and why.
And let's go around the horn. So give me South, Midwest, East, West.
Give me the reason why you pick it as the strongest bracket.
Let's start with there.
This might tip your hand when it comes to picking your final four
and your overall champion.
But let's hear which bracket you think is the strongest.
Midwest.
It seems like majority of the top contenders are in the Midwest.
If you had said the Midwest because it has both Auburn and Houston in it,
you probably would have gotten a raise on this call, but, but yeah,
Midwest we like, yeah. Yeah. You, you had an opportunity there. London.
I chose West because it's got a good mix of solid teams and high seeds.
Wow. All right.
This is going to be interesting if we end up with four different picks,
Frances.
I'm sorry to disappoint already.
I also went with West, Kansas, LA, Gonzaga, UConn.
It just seems those are all in the top ten.
It seems pretty stacked.
Yeah, yeah.
All right.
So I had a hard time.
I had a hard time deciding between the West and the South.
I ended up going with the South.
I like Arizona.
I like Baylor. I like the South all the way down to their fifth seed. I ended up going with the South. I like Arizona. I like Baylor. I like the
South all the way down to their fifth seed. I think San Diego State's solid. So it was a tough
call between the West and the South, but no disagreement on the West. The fact that Tavia
was smart enough to pick Auburn's region, I think clearly demonstrates she's got career aspirations.
But the East is the lone wolf, is not one of our strong regions. All good though.
All right. So as we look at the regions, dark horses. I thought I should have defined dark
horse for you. In other words, everybody picks the one or two seeds to win their region. But
if you look through the region, who's somebody down the region? And you go, wait a minute,
Raymond, you pick dark horse and you pick Cinderellainderella so dark horses hey they're a good team but nobody's picking them a cinderella is their
double digit seed there are 10 11 to 12 who's got the chance to really surprise everybody so
that's the difference between dark horse and cinderella so in your dark horse give me by
region um in the midwest who's your midwest horse? Somebody that you go, nobody's picking them, but I think they got a chance to win the region.
Okay, probably Texas A&M.
Ooh, you're kidding me.
They're right in the middle, no?
Right here.
That's my dark horse.
That's your dark horse too?
That's my dark horse for the Midwest.
That's an excellent pick.
Nice.
Nice work, Tavia.
Yes, I love that.
All right, let's stick in the Midwest and
let's hear who London and Francis think could be the dark horse out of the Midwest. Cause
Tavia already nailed mine, Texas A&M. I chose Miami. Miami. It's possible. Yeah. They could
definitely come out. I don't really have a real reason. I picked Auburn. I think, you know,
they have a tough matchup against Iowa and then they go up against Houston if that's the case.
So it could, you know, if they are able to pull that off,
that would definitely be a dark horse pick.
They get past Houston and they are running.
You want to talk about getting raises handed out on this phone call?
That is the way you get raises handed out on this phone call,
without a question.
I need to step in.
All right.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm a veteran of this, though.
That's right. Frances has been here before. to step in. All right. Yeah, yeah. I'm a veteran of this, though. That's right.
Frances has been here before.
She knows that.
All right.
Well, let's go out west and think about who our dark horses are in the west.
Frances will let you hit lead off.
Dark horse in the west.
I've got to admit now, my west dark horse is kind of chintzy, but I got one.
VCU Rams.
The VCU Rams?
Yep.
Wow.
Look at Frances doing some homework.
Picking a 12 seed.
Yeah.
I love it.
Okay.
They just came off of nine straight wins.
Look at Francis doing the homework.
Look at you, Francis.
Yeah.
Look at the Rams.
I was burning midnight oil last night.
Yeah.
I know what Francis was doing yesterday.
All right, London, let's look out west.
Who do you think could surprise?
I just TCU.
Oh, the Horned Frogs are getting a lot of air time here.
I like it.
All right, Tavia out west.
Who's your dark horse?
Arkansas.
Oh, my goodness.
Another SEC team.
Tavia is representing the SEC.
I love it.
I think Arkansas has got a chance.
And that 8C, that's the perfect slot to make a run.
I'm making kind of a cheap pick here.
I'm taking Gonzaga.
They're third.
They've been all the way a couple of times.
But third, I think they're under the radar under Kansas and UCLA.
Cheap to pick a three is your dark horse, but that's my west dark horse.
All right, let's go to the south.
Tavia, we'll start with you.
Who in the south do you think is your dark horse?
By the way, I'm admitting now mine's cheap in this region too this one was hard for me i'm not gonna
lie to you i did have a phone call with my dad he told me to pick for for west um but i'm doing a
cheap shot as well i'm gonna go baylor baylor yeah yeah no they're they're three but yeah my
dark horse yeah i like it i like it london they're my dark horse. Yeah, I like it.
I like it.
London?
I think they're going to go.
I'm jealous.
I couldn't call my dad and ask him about this.
That would have been a great. Yeah.
We might do this next year with the dads on.
Oh, my dad looks great.
We should do a father-daughter show.
We should do a father-daughter version of this.
We'll get your daughter on, too.
Yeah, yeah.
That's what I mean.
That's what I mean.
We'll have a roundtable.
The four daughters, the four dads. I think my dad might daughter on, too. Yeah, yeah, that's what I mean. That's what I mean. We'll have a roundtable. The four daughters, the four dads.
I think my dad might know less than me.
We've got to have your daughter on, though, Raymond.
That's what I'm saying.
We'll do the four of us.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, that would be perfect.
We'll get the four dads and the four daughters.
We'll do it for college football.
We'll do father-daughter college football preview.
Oh, my dad would love that.
That would be awesome.
All right, Frances, Dark Horse in the South.
Oh, my gosh.
This is going to show how little I know because I don't know exactly how to pronounce it,
but I picked Creighton.
Yes, you nailed it, Creighton.
Come on.
Just because, you know, in my research.
Yeah, yeah.
They have that seven-foot-tall, big, offensive.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
It seemed to.
Creighton could make a run.
They've got to get by NC State, but they could make a run.
London, who you got in the south as your dark horse?
I chose Maryland.
Maryland.
ACC, I like it.
I like it.
I went with San Diego State.
I already mentioned earlier I like how strong the south is.
San Diego State's a five seed.
I think it's got a chance they could surprise Alabama and get all the way. Alright let's go out east
where Purdue clearly a great number one seed probably the player of the year
Canada on Purdue. Who do you think is a dark horse in the east? Tavia if you pick
another SEC team you'll be promoted before five today.
Shoot! Kansas State. Ah you were so close.
Alright Kansas State yeah you should have
made you gotta you gotta learn to adjust on the spot tavia all right london in the east who you
got as your dark horse i chose duke oh that's a surprise pick i like duke yeah yeah all right
francis i saw some good stuff in my research. Oral Roberts.
ORU, really?
How about that?
You're not going to get that one every day.
30 wins?
The great point guard.
Yeah.
30 wins out of ORU.
All right. I took Tennessee.
Obviously, heavy SEC bias, I think, to A&M.
I think Arkansas.
I think Tennessee.
I think they all have got chances to make a run really, really toughly.
Tennessee, my dark horse in the East.
All right, let's keep digging in here.
I alluded to it already a little bit with Purdue.
Zach Eadie, I think, is everybody's player of the year, the big guy in Purdue.
Is there anybody else, as you did your research, did anybody else jump off the page at you and go,
hey, they could give Zach a run, whether it's Jackson Davis at Indiana,
you know, Johnston at Kansas State.
Anybody stick out to you that you go, hey,
they should be in the Player of the Year conversation.
I've got one, but I'm interested to hear your take.
London?
I went with Trace Jackson Davis.
Yeah, out of Indiana.
Yeah, and maybe just because Indiana isn't like, I mean, they're not a huge, great team, but put him on a different team and I think it would be a different story.
That's just my take on it.
We'd agree with you there.
And who doesn't like a hyphenated name?
I mean, come on.
Yeah.
Exactly.
Tavia, give me your competitor with Zach Eadie for player of the year.
Mine's going to be shocking uh because he's more
of an honorable mention but Kendrick Davis and let me tell you why all right player of the year
has always been strange to me because basketball is a team sport right Kendrick Davis paired with
DeAndre DeAndre Williams they're a power team together and every year this is from
the research i've done okay yeah look at you dropping knowledge yeah yeah i'm not gonna
pretend like i know but the teams every year a number one team loses to what you would call
what was it a black a dark horse dark horse yeah yeah. I think Purdue is not going to make it to the,
they'll make it to Sweet 16 and I think they'll lose to Memphis.
Woo, I like the call.
Wow.
And I think it will be because of Kendrick and DeAndre.
Yeah, look at Tavia doing the research.
She's going to leave the NBA behind after this show.
She's going all NCAA.
The Raptors are out.
They're out now.
All right, Frances, player of the year.
I kind of copped out.
I think Zach Eaddy's super cool.
7'4 Canadian sounds perfect.
I knew you were going to bring that up.
I knew.
Yeah, I mean.
I knew.
I just, which one of you was going to say 7'4 Canadian?
I knew it was coming out.
I mean.
All right.
That's more than two feet taller than me.
That's like two Francis's in one person.
Yeah.
You stack Francis on top of Francis and you get Zach Eadie.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Unbelievable.
All right.
He's standing up straight and made his kneecaps.
So I went with Marcus Sasser out of Houston.
I know he got hurt.
I think it's terrible.
I hope he gets well in time to get back in the tournament. I thought Sasser out of Houston. I know he got hurt. I think it's terrible. I hope he gets well in time to get back in the tournament.
I thought Sasser, I think they're the best team in the country
and love what they're doing, and I hope he gets healed up
and can get in before the tournament gets too far along.
I know they've got to play my Tigers this first weekend.
I'd love for them to see him survive the first weekend
and see him play the second weekend,
but wouldn't mind if my Tigers could upset them with Sasser out hurt.
But I think he's in the conversation for player of the year.
All right, player of the year, the 7'4 Canadian.
I can't believe that.
France is just representing the Maple Leaf.
A Canadian transplant.
I'm even more thankful than the normal Canadian. All right.
We're going to get down to the serious stuff here in a minute, but we got a couple more that
probably don't qualify as terribly serious. So if you looked at the bracket and all of these are
colleges and universities, what is the one school on here that you are glad you did not have to
attend? But you go, you know, I'm glad I did not get to attend but you go you know i'm glad i did not
get stuck for me you know i managed to squeeze a four-year degree into six years where did you
spend you know your six years of college to get your undergrad degree where were you glad you
didn't have to go i'll go yep francis lead off i know i know we're taking shots we're going to
get emails about this i know no i have to say have to say Providence. You went back to the Providence Friars.
I can't do it.
It really upset me.
And looking at that, you know, all the time on campus, there's not much else going on in Providence.
I'm sorry.
That Friar really spread out to me.
Yeah.
Do you know who graduated from Providence on our team, Frances?
Oops, no.
Yeah, John Shine is a Friar.
Oh, no. Yeah, he may never speak to you again after this. Yeah, Shine's a friar. Yeah, you got a short account now. All right, London,
the place you're glad you didn't attend. This is going to be shots fired, but I think it's
obvious because I'm an LSU fan. Alabama. Oh, yes, that's my girl. Yeah. That was mine. All right. That's good. That's good.
Alabama is my number one. Glad I didn't attend. Now, here's the sad part. My son-in-law has a
graduate degree from Alabama. My daughter-in-law has two degrees from Alabama. And my son just
enrolled in their law school. So I hope that none of my family watches this podcast. But Alabama is
my definite number one not attend. Tavia, you're number one not attend. My not attend honorable mention was Montana State. Oh, that's a good one. Could you
imagine having been stuck in Montana State for seven years trying to get an undergrad degree?
I look at one from six to seven. Give me time. By the time we're done, it'll be 10 years.
In Montana, it would have been seven seven seven montana years
that's right that's exactly right all right okay so a little bit more uh uh honoring this next one
what's the school you wish you had attended the the the school in the field that you said you know
i know that uh you know the harvard of montreal was nice but where would I have liked to have gone?
So I was looking at this, thinking of that question and.
Go ahead and flex, Frances. Tell everybody where you went. Go ahead.
I went to McGill.
Yeah, there you go. Come on, represent.
The Harvard of Canada, which is an offensive slogan.
But I, I honestly Northwesternern i almost applied i didn't because my my parents wanted to keep me close the furthest away i could apply to was pittsburgh and you know
carnegie mellon was not the one for me but uh northwestern would have been cool another big
school good reputation look at carnegie mellon making the show one of my father's four
degrees is from carnegie mellon really i i am it was between carnegie mellon and mcgill and in the
end of the day montreal seemed more appealing to me than pittsburgh i can't yeah i can't imagine
why yeah yeah yeah it's it's the uh it's the refuse engineers that keep her in Montreal.
London?
So even though I'm in Boundaries, I didn't go to LSU.
But LSU is a really fun school, but I'm not going to pick it.
I'm actually going to go complete opposite of what I would actually pick in real life.
I'm going to say Arizona State because it's a really fun school,
and I've a couple of times in it and loved it.
And who wouldn't love being in the warm all the time?
That'd be great. Love that. Arizona State's good pick all right yeah Tavia place you would have
liked to have attended part of the reason why I chose the university I went to in Canada is because
it was the most comparable to the American university experience I went to Western University
um which is similar to Northwestern and gets confused quite a bit because it has
the same colors as well.
But I would have loved to go to school in Miami.
Oh, Coral Gables is nice.
I've been down there.
Yeah, Coral Gables is a nice campus down there.
I think a lot of people don't realize it's a private school and it's little.
It's got like 4,000 students.
It's tiny.
But boy, it's nice private school and it's little. It's got like 4,000 students. It's tiny. But, boy, it's nice.
Beautiful campus, beautiful environment.
I'm really coming off as a nerd here.
I should have picked it for weather reasons.
Yeah, yeah.
Arizona State and Miami.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I know I couldn't pick a scholar.
Francis is looking for the library.
Yeah.
We understand what you did in school.
All right.
I had two.
I couldn't narrow it down to one.
I had two places that I wished, either Princeton or Furman.
And you go, wait a minute, how are those two?
So Furman, 30 seconds.
Furman is actually built on my family's land.
So we sold Furman the land to build the university.
So if you go look at a picture of Furman's campus, there are multiple homes still on the campus that my family lives in, and there are multiple streets on campus named Hawkins Road, Hawkins Avenue.
So Furman or Princeton, for different reasons, would have been places I would have considered going.
So my wish I could have attended.
All right, let's get down to the nitty-gritty.
Let's get your final four, and let's get your overall champion.
So we're going to go your final four and let's get your overall champion. So we're going to go your final four.
We're going to do it by individual who's coming out of the South,
who's coming out of the East, who's coming out of the West,
who's coming out of the Midwest and give us your champion.
Hold your champion until we get everybody's final four.
And then we'll do the champions in one round.
So Tavia, we're going to start with you.
Who's coming out of each region.
Tell us your final four.
Arizona, Kentucky, Houston, Yukon. All right. Hold on. tell us your final four arizona kentucky houston yukon all right hold on tavia is arizona kentucky
kentucky and then houston versus yukon houston and yukon yukon really you think those four seed
yukons come out of the west all right i. I've lost all respect. All right. London.
London, who do you got?
Give me your final four.
Arizona, Purdue, Kansas, and Texas.
All right.
Crosby's going to love your pick.
Francis, who do you got?
Alabama, Duke. Oh!
Ugh!
Did I say that out loud
Alabama
Alabama, Houston
Duke
and Kansas
alright so I think there's a way we can edit
a whole person out of the show
even in post production
so this has been a great three person show
the fact that Alabama
makes your final four, that raise,
I mean that was the shortest-lived raise ever.
I think it was about 25 minutes.
I didn't come to make friends.
I came to win.
Yeah, I came to win.
That's fair.
That's fair.
I get it.
I appreciate it.
Because I actually chose not to put Alabama in there,
even though I wanted to.
I chose not to because I've been dead.
I love the Baton Rouge loyalty.
I love it.
Good job, London.
I got no loyalty.
I got no loyalty.
I'll do anything to win.
All right.
We should have gotten flags picks for the Final Four.
So I'm with you guys on Arizona.
So I'm with you.
I got Arizona coming out of the south.
Yes, that is an anti-Alabama pick.
I got Arizona coming out of the south. I got Purdue coming out of the south. Yes, that is an anti-Alabama pick. I got Arizona coming out of the south.
I got Purdue coming out of the east.
I've got Houston coming out of the midwest, even though it pains me.
I think they're the best club in the whole tournament.
And as a nod to my friend, the chief revenue officer of Stack Data Centers,
Stack Infrastructure, excuse me, Ty Miller with UCLA coming out of the West.
So I think UCLA plays above themselves when it comes to tournament time.
No secret that I do have John Wooden's plaque here on the wall.
All right, so that's our final four.
Sounds like we're all on the Arizona bandwagon except for the former leader
of our marketing ops department.
Several people on Purdue, several people.
We've got three people on Houston.
All right.
So now let's hear your champion.
I can feel it already.
There are data center people calling their bookies, you know,
tomorrow ready to get their bets in based on these selections.
So, Tavia, who's winning it all here at the end of the month houston baby houston all right i like it houston all right london i
went arizona wow i like that pick too i think you both i think you both got a shot francis if you
say alabama um we will um i i know what the limits are i know where the line actually i actually think we. I actually think we can already edit out all of your contributions.
So I don't know at this point it matters who you say because we're not going to have you in the final cut.
So go ahead.
I picked Houston.
Don't worry.
Houston.
Okay, good, good, good, good call.
I know how much risk to take.
You know how far to push it.
All right.
Well, the Cougars are clearly in good stead because that's three of the four of us. I got Houston to push it all right well the cougars are clearly in good stead because that's
three of the four of us i got houston to win it all as well um london we love that you're out
there on your own with arizona not a bad pick um as as uh as silly and goofy as this is um we are
super grateful to to be in the business we're in to be uh building data centers and helping our
world uh digitize and you know people deliver food to their houses and get rides to the airport and search things.
We are super grateful.
We recognize we're just part of the global digitization.
And we're glad that we get to come on here and do silly, fun things and hope that the folks that listen to our podcast get a kick out of it.
Thank you, ladies, for your tireless research into college basketball. I know you did
it entirely because I asked you that you could care less about college basketball, but I bet you
we probably do as good as any of the experts do. So we will revisit this on our first episode after
the tournament, even though London will yell at me when I give the date. So thank you for having
me on. It was fun. Thank you guys for joining me on
the podcast and for being a bit silly about college basketball and to all of our customers
who listen to us. Thank you for listening and enjoy watching the tournament.
