Before leaving for a campaign rally in Youngstown, Ohio,
President Trump was asked Monday evening
about the search by federal agents of the Washington, D.C. home
of Democratic Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
Well, I understand they're looking at it very carefully.
I've always sounded to be totally structured personally,
but that has nothing to do with me.
I think she's a terrible person, just a complainer.
She comes from a country that is a non-country,
and then she comes over here and he complains about our Constitution.
I think she's a terrible person, but that's really up to the DOJ.
I have nothing to do it.
Congressman Omar is calling the search part of President Trump's intimidation campaign,
and on social media she said she will not be silenced.
Federal agents searched Omar's home Monday morning. MPR is reporting the investigation deals with immigration fraud allegations.
Republicans have previously accused Omar of immigration fraud. She denies the allegations.
President Trump back at the White House following his campaign rally in Ohio, he ostensibly was there to boost Republican Senator John Hustod's reelection campaign, but he again attacked Congresswoman Omar and shouted out Congressman Max Miller, who is facing domestic abuse allegations.
also announced a new submarine component manufacturing center to be located in Cleveland.
New York City Mayor Zadmanmane says he is ordering a comprehensive review of the city police department's use of force practices.
NPR's Michelle Aslam reports on the first such review in a decade.
The review of the NYPD's use of force practices comes after complaints that an officer involved in a fatal shooting in 2024 was able to retire before he faced disciplinary proceedings.
In a statement, the mayor said the review is about making sure New Yorkers and their families can trust their city will treat them with, quote, care and dignity.
The Mamdani administration also announced it will increase funding for the office of the inspector general in order to strengthen independent oversight.
The union representing many of NYPD's officers released a statement pushing back on the mayor's efforts and said they, quote, won't make New Yorkers any safer.

Pope Leo said to have surgery this week to remove a growth.
on his lung. Here's NPR's Ava Poochatch reporting. Dr. Panagis, Golias, a pulmonary physician at Johns Hopkins
University School of Medicine, says the majority of lung nodules are benign, calling them the lungs wrinkles.
He says once a nodule is discovered, doctors then test it to see if there's cause for concern.
For the hope to have had some imaging done that found him to have a lung nodule where they're now discussing
removing it means he likely had some findings that resulted in some level of concern outside of the size.
The Vatican says the surgery will occur at Rome's Jamilly Hospital and the Pope will have a week of recovery.

Authorities in Pennsylvania have publicly identified the man behind Friday's mass shooting in Erie.
Erie County's coroner is named 45-year-old Matthew Stone Senior.
Police say he was related to seven of the victims, including two young children who were killed.
Police say Stone died in an apparent self-inflicted wound. One person is dead after an incident Monday
aboard a roller coaster at six flags over Georgia. Melissa Fado from member station WABE has more.
Footage from multiple local media outlets shows Park staff evacuating riders from the lift hill of
Goliath. The 200-foot hypercoaster opened in 2006. Cobb County Police
confirmed several others are injured and the department is investigating the incident.
Officials did not describe how the person died.
The Six Flags chain has seen financial challenges and leadership changes since it merged with
its once competitor Cedar Fair in 2024.
This incident comes on the heels of Six Flags Magic Mountain in Southern California,
announcing its retiring its famous fourth dimension coaster X2.
Amid allegations, it has caused several riders serious brain injuries.
