Officials in Venezuela say at least two dozen security officers were killed in the U.S. raid
to capture ousted leader Nicholas Maduro and his wife.
Cuban authorities previously said that 32 of their personnel were also killed in the attack.

Venezuelan officials are toughening their rhetoric against the U.S. attack.
In announcing the death toll, Venezuela's Attorney General, Tariq William Saab, said that
the, quote, war crimes against officers and civilians would be investigated. The hardline interior
minister Diosdado Cabello joined pro-government marchers in a large boister rally in Caracas
condemning what he called the kidnapping of Venezuela's rightful leader. While acting President
Delsi Rodriguez decried the, quote, terrible military aggression of the U.S. and in an apparent
rebuke of President Trump's threats, she stay in line with U.S. demands, she said, quote,
Personally, to those who threaten me, my destiny is not determined by them, but by God.

New details on the mass shooting at Rob Elementary School in Uvaldi, Texas.
A witness told jurors Tuesday that the defendant, Adrian Gonzalez, knew where the gunman was
before he and other officers ended the school over an hour later.

Gonzalez is being tried on charges of failing to protect students and teachers once the
shooting started. The judge overseeing the case will hear arguments on Wednesday on motions
to dismiss the case. In Switzerland, a first shall say, a ski resort bar that called fire on
New Year's Eve, killing over 40 people, had not been inspected in five years.

Nicola Ferro, mayor of Carl Montana, said he bitterly regretted the failure to carry out annual inspections
and said the investigation would tell how much of a role that played in the disaster.
We will assume all of our responsibility, he said.
At least 40 people died in the blaze.
More than 100 were injured.
The victims were between the ages of 14 and 39.
At least 20 were minors.
The drinking age in Switzerland is 16.
The soundproofing foam on the basement ceiling that caught fire from sparklers was installed in a do-it-yourself job by the owners.
They're now under investigation for homicide by negligence.

The Department of Homeland Security is preparing for immigration raids in Minneapolis.
DHS officials who were not authorized to discuss the matter told the Associated Press
that as many as 2,000 federal agents and officers were expected to be deployed to the area
that a report comes amid allegations of widespread fraud at child care facilities.

Michael Reagan has died. He was the eldest son of President Ronald Reagan. And Paris
Giles Snyder has this remembrance. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute
announced Michael Reagan's death on social media, calling him a steadfast guardian of his father's legacy.
In a statement, Reagan Ranch Director and Young America's Foundation Vice President Andrew Coffin
said Michael Reagan died of cancer on Sunday he was 80 years old.
Ronald Reagan and his first wife, actor Jane Wyman, adopted Michael Reagan,
shortly after he was born in 1945.
Michael Reagan was known as a commentator for the conservative Newsmax television network
and for his nationally syndicated talk radio program.
He also wrote several books, including lessons my father taught me, published in 2016.
