Authorities confirmed that a 37-year-old U.S. citizen was shot and killed during an immigration crackdown in Minneapolis. The administration says the woman was blocking the road and that the agent fired in self-defense.

But NPR's Jimenez-Bustillo reports that local officials and bystanders dispute that account. ICE officials say she drove at them, prompting one officer to shoot. Homeland Security Secretary Kristy Noem accused a woman of, quote, an act of domestic terrorism. This goes to show the assaults that our ICE officers and our law enforcement are under every single day. Minneapolis, Mayor Jacob Frye is denouncing the sweeping ice operation. in his city. What they are doing is not to provide safety in America. What they are doing is causing chaos and distrust. Minneapolis police have turned over the scene to the FBI and state authorities to investigate. Humana Bustillo, MPR News. The U.S. has seized two more tankers

linked to Venezuela following a two-week chase and the Trump administration's pressure campaign against the Venezuelan government. White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt says the U.S. does not plan to run the South American country, but will control its oil. This was the sanctioned oil that was basically just sitting in barrels, sitting on ships because of the effective quarantine of the United States of America. And the interim authorities have agreed to release that oil to the United States, so it will be arriving here at home very soon. Alston Venezuelan leader Nicholas Maduro and his wife Celia Flores

are being held in New York following their arrest on Saturday. They've pleaded not guilty to narco-trafficking and other charges. Israel's prime minister is calling for calm after a bus driver killed a 14-year-old boy during a protest. The bus ran over the teenager as thousands of ultra-Orthodox Jews demonstrated against a law seeking to draft them into military service. Police say they've arrested and questioned the bus driver who told investigators he had been attacked by protesters. The 32-year-old son of slain director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michelle Singer-riner, will have to find a new attorney During an arraignment hearing Wednesday, Nick Reiner's lawyer said he's withdrawn from the case.

Steve Futterman reports. When court convened Alan Jackson, who's been representing Nick Reiner, Jackson being a very high-profile attorney, told the court he is withdrawing from the case. He did not give any explanation, but Dill did tell the court he had no choice. I have to say this was a surprise. No one expected this. A public defender was then appointed to represent Nick Reiner. briefly spoke with her client, then asked the court for another delay in the arraignment, so no plea was taken. Nick Reiner is next to in court for arraignment and entering a plea

Florida's legislature begins its regular 60-day session next week, but Governor Ronda Santos plans to call a special session in April to redraw the state's congratulations. rational map. He joins a growing number of governors seeking a mid-decade redrawing of voting maps to boost their political parties' position in Congress. But DeSantis says he also wants to wait for a possible U.S. Supreme Court ruling on the Voting Rights Act before proceeding. The state of Colorado was finally seeing snow this week, but like much of the West, the state's

snowpack is still far below average due to mild and dry weather. Colorado Public Radio Stena Seek reports that most resorts still have lots of closed terrain, and some smaller ones have not opened at all. Wolf Creek Ski Area is one of many resorts getting creative in this lean snow year. Employees are using trash cans and moving snow out of the woods. Owner Randall Davy Pitcher says they've packed 40,000 barrels of snow. Anytime it's not even a little, everybody is so happy. Arabahoe Basin Ski Resort is collecting snow using special fences. Sustainability Manager, Mike Nathan, says there's a silver lining to this challenging season. Much of the West is forecast to receive snow over the next week or so.

From P.R. News, I'm Steena Sieg in Grand Junction, Colorado. A nine-year-old golden retriever mix has been found saved after escaping. Abby took off at a service area in northern New Jersey. Several other dogs from a shelter in South Carolina to a new home in Maine were being transported when Abby ran off during a bathroom break. she was found safe with the help of a drone. This is NPR.
