President Trump says he's reviewing Tehran's latest proposal to end the war in Iran.
The president told reporters Saturday that he planned to review Iran's proposal on a flight,
but later on social media, he said he was not optimistic that it would be acceptable.
Meanwhile, President Trump says he may withdraw from Germany more than 5,000 troops announced Friday by the Pentagon.
NPR's Rob Schmitz has more in Germany's reaction to that decision.
German defense minister Boris Pistorius called the Pentagon's move an expected one, adding that if Germany is to remain transatlantic, it must strengthen the European pillar within NATO.
A spokesperson for NATO said it was working with the U.S. to understand the details of the troop withdrawal and that it underscored the need for Europe to invest more in defense.
The Pentagon's announcement would still leave more than 30,000 U.S. troops in Germany, reversing a buildup that began under President Joe Biden.
Germany is undergoing an historic defense buildup and investment in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine more than four years ago.

A legal fight over access to the abortion pill Miffipristone is likely headed to the Supreme Court.
On Friday, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals sided with Louisiana, blocking prescriptions obtained through telehealth appointments.
Mary Ziegler at UC Davis as an expert in the legal history of abortion, she says the decision is monumental.
the most consequential potentially in some ways ruling we've had since dobs from a lower court.
And that's going to require every politician to weigh in. And it doesn't really leave the Trump
administration the option of doing nothing anymore. The ruling means that patients nationwide,
at least for now, must receive the medication in person. Since Roe v. Wade was overturned,
abortion pills by mail have become key, even in states with bans.
Taiwan's president has made an unexpected visit to the southern African kingdom of Eswatini.
It's Taiwan's last remaining diplomatic ally on the entire continent.
As Ashish Valentine reports from Taipei, it's a major diplomatic victory for Taiwan,
as Chinese pressure on Taiwan's allies around the world continues to grow.
Only 12 countries have formal diplomatic relationships with Taiwan,
and China's been ramping up pressure on them to distance themselves from the
self-ruled island. President Lai Ching-Dhe was due to visit Eswatini a week ago to celebrate the
40th anniversary of King Mswati III's accession to the throne. But on the eve of his departure,
the presidential office announced that trip was put on hold because three East African countries,
under pressure from China, denied President Lai's plane permission to pass through their airspace.
Shortly after he stepped off the plane, President Lai told reporters the friendship between Taiwan
and Eswatini would not be shaken by China's space.

The sequel appears headed for an $80 million weekend in North America, about three times the first film's opening, and it's doing even better overseas.
Oh, that's not what you're wearing to the dinner.
That's all.
Also doing well globally, the Michael Jackson biopic Michael, which breezed past the $300 million mark earlier in the week, and will pass $400 million by Sunday.

The union representing screen actors has reached a tentative new contract with movie studios.
After says this latest agreement will run for four years rather than the previous three.
The terms of the deal are not being made public until the union board has a chance to review them.
That's expected to happen over the next few days.
The deal comes just one week after the Writers Guild of America announced its own contract with movie studios.
