                                         The 69-year-old Leo was viewed by many as a compromise between the conservative and
                                         
                                         more liberal factions of the 1.4 billion-member Catholic Church. The Catholic Church's new
                                         
                                         pope is American, but also a naturalized Peruvian citizen. He spent decades there. According to those who know him, he left a long legacy as a faithful,

                                         Robert Francis Prevost spent two decades in Peru, first as a missionary and ultimately
                                         
                                         as Archbishop of Chiclayo, the South American country's fourth largest city. In 2015, he
                                         
                                         became a naturalized Peruvian citizen. 28-year-old
                                         
                                         Jimena Valdivia is part of Chiclayo's youth ministry and says she can't stop smiling.

                                         The US and Britain say they've reached a limited trade deal
                                         
                                         that will give Britain some relief
                                         
                                         from President Trump's tariffs.

                                         Speaking at a car factory in the British Midlands, Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Britain is
                                         
                                         the first country to secure such a deal with the U.S.
                                         
                                         And in an era of global insecurity and instability, that is so important.
                                         
                                         Starmer says the agreement would completely remove U.S. tariffs on British steel and aluminum
                                         
                                         and bring tariffs on most British cars down from 27.5% to 10%. In return, the U.K. is
                                         
                                         removing a tariff on U.S. ethanol imports. President Trump first announced the deal from
                                         
                                         the Oval Office with Starmor on speakerphone. Trump said it'll give U.S. companies better
                                         
    
                                         market access for beef and machinery and that
                                         
                                         final details are still being written up.

                                         Executives from Microsoft and Chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices were on Capitol Hill today,
                                         
    
                                         testifying before lawmakers about some of the biggest opportunities and some of the
                                         
                                         major risks facing the industry. One thing all the sides appeared to agree upon was that
                                         
                                         the technology surrounding artificial intelligence has the power to significantly transform business, culture, and geopolitics. A lawyer for Smokey Robinson is denying recent
                                         
                                         allegations of sexual assault against the R&B legend. Four former housekeepers for Robinson
                                         
                                         have filed a lawsuit alleging he repeatedly raped them. CNPR's Andrew Limbong reports
                                         
                                         Robinson's lawyers called the allegations false and quote vile.
                                         
                                         In a statement, attorney Christopher Frost calls the lawsuit a quote ugly method of trying
                                         
                                         to extract money from an 85 year old American icon, adding that they will be addressing
                                         
    
                                         a number of aspects of the complaint that quote defy credulity.
                                         
                                         The allegations date back to 2007.
                                         
                                         The four women listed as Jane Doe's all describe similar repeated instances of Smokey Robinson waiting for them to be alone in one of his homes and then raping and sexually
                                         
                                         assaulting them. His wife, Frances Robinson, is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit.
                                         
                                         The plaintiffs allege she knew about the assaults and that her conduct was, quote, willful,
                                         
                                         wanton and malicious.
