Live from NPR News in Washington, on Korva Coleman. President Trump has signed an executive order. He says he'll slap an extra 25% tariff on India. That's because India says it will continue to buy cheap Russian oil. That's on top of the earlier 25% tariff Trump put on India. Trump says India is helping Russia pay for the war in Ukraine. Trump's special envoy met with Russian President Vladimir Putin today in Moscow. Jordan says convoys of food aid to Gaza are being attacked by a
Israeli settlers, their intent on blocking the aid. And Pierce Jane Reff has more.
The Jordanian government says Israeli settlers have repeatedly attacked its convoys and set up
roadblocks to prevent food from reaching Gaza. It said in the latest incident Sunday,
settlers punctured tires of several aid trucks en route to Gaza after they crossed the border
from Jordan to the Israeli-occupied West Bank. Israel says it dispersed the protesters after the
attack. A group of UN-backed experts say famine is now unfolding in Gaza. Israel in July, in response to
U.S. and other pressure, began allowing Jordan and other countries to send limited amounts of food to
Gaza. Jane Arraf, NPR News, Amman. Texas Democrats are still out of their state blocking Republican
efforts to redistrict. The GOP plan aims to send more Texas Republicans to the U.S. Congress. Now, Indiana,
Republican Governor Mike Braun says Vice President Vance is coming to meet with him.
Braun says he expects one topic will be about the possibility of redistricting Indiana congressional districts to benefit Republicans.
It's exploratory. So there's been no commitments made other than I think they're going to come into every state that's got the possibility of that happening.
He spoke to WR. TV. Indiana has nine members of the U.S. House.
all but two are Republican. Both Indiana Senators are Republicans. A new study in the Journal of
the American Medical Association shows Idaho lost a third of its OBGYNs since banning almost all
abortions three years ago. Julie Luchette has more. Lead researcher Dr. Edward McKeachern says the
number of obstetricians in Idaho was stable for a decade before the repeal of Roe v. Wade.
Something happened in the marketplace that left some OBGYNs and obstetricians.
obstetricians wondering if they could practice safely in the community.
Under Idaho law, physicians can provide abortions only when the life of the mother is in danger
or in cases of rape or incest. Outside of those exceptions, doctors can lose their license,
face felony charges, and up to five years in prison. The study shows most OBGYNs left to practice
out of state, while others continued gynecology but stopped providing obstetric services altogether.

Homeland Security Secretary Christy Noam says her agency is working with the state of Indiana
to build a facility there.
It's to house 1,000 migrants in the U.S. illegally.
She is calling it the Speedway slammer.
It is similar to the facility in Florida called Alligator Alcatraz.
Meanwhile, the Associated Press reports Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
is planning to build a second Alligator Alcatraz facility.
This would also hold migrants in the U.S.
U.S. illegally, the first Alligator Alcatraz facility opened in Florida last month.
Students are using artificial intelligence tools such as chat GPT, more than ever.
It's affecting how students interact with other type of study materials.
And P.R.'s Ianna Archie reports that includes textbooks and online study guide websites.

workforce, partly due to students turning to generative AI. As part of its new strategy, the company is
hoping to reach students who will pay about $20 a month for tools that encourage long-term use and
goal-setting. McMillan Learning sells textbooks and e-books and offers quizzes and study guides. It
incorporated an AI tool into its paid plan that it began rolling out late last year. McMillan says
its tool doesn't give students the answers, but guides them there by using the Socratic method.
