He doesn't seem to care very much about what Israel does as far as trying to govern there.
NPR's Domenico Montanaro, meanwhile, Gaza's Ministry of Health says nearly 100 children have died from malnutrition in the past 24 hours.
Friday marked the first day of increased federal law enforcement presence in Washington, D.C.
President Trump initially said the feds would be on the ground for seven days.
Now he's promising to do more, as NPR's Alana Wise reports.
Trump took to social media this weekend to announce something.
Monday press conference to address D.C.'s crime rate. He wrote that he planned to, quote,
essentially stop violent crime in Washington. A spokesperson for the White House said they could not
give additional details on what Trump intended to announce. For years, Trump has criticized the nation's
capital as being poorly run and afflicted by crime. But after a former staffer was injured this month
in an attempted carjacking, Trump announced the week-long police ramp up. D.C. is unique in that it does
have a local police force, but under special circumstances, federal agencies could take over.

Firefighters have made progress against a California brush fire burning in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
State fire officials report the blaze is now 28 percent contained, and Pears Chondalisa Duster has more.
The canyon fires started on Thursday and has burned more than 5,000 acres, officials say.
Thousands have been evacuated because of the wildfire. Officials say three firefighters have been injured battling the fire but are expected to recover. Los Angeles County is under an air quality alert because of wildfire smoke. Health officials are warning those in the area to protect their health by limiting time outdoors and physical activity. Los Angeles and Ventura County officials on Saturday said all evacuation warnings have been lifted. Authorities say they are investigating what caused the fire.
In 178, toxic cane toads from Central and South America were introduced to an island in Japan to control pest.
And Perez Regina Barber reports, now researchers are looking into why eagles there are able to escape death from the invasive food source.
Many predators that eat these cane toads die of heart attacks, but the critically endangered crested serpent eagles do not.
After analyzing blood and tissue samples from these eagles,
the researchers found they have a special genetic adaptation to evade these toxins.
An adaptation that the studies lead author Lisa Tobe says the eagles had long before they met the cane toads.
So by chance, they can feed on them.
Eagles aren't the only animal to carry resistance to this toxin without needing it.
Some snakes, rodents, and frogs also inherited the adaptation from their ancestors.

year old gunmen who opened fire at a CVS drugstore near the headquarters of the U.S. Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention on Friday has been identified. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation
says Patrick Joseph White of Kennesaw, Georgia, died at the scene following an exchange of gunfire
with local police. One officer was shot and killed and later identified as a DeKalb County

there is extensive evidence to collect. You're listening to NPR News from New York City. I'm Dwali Saikautau.
