There's a lot of news happening.
You want to understand it better, but let's be honest, you don't want it to be your
entire life either.
Well, that's sort of like our show, here and now anytime.
Every weekday on our podcast, we talk to people all over the country about everything
from political analysis to climate resilience, video games.
We even talk about dumpster diving on this show.
Check out Here and Now Anytime, a daily podcast from NPR and WBUR.
Live from NPR News, I'm Dale Wilman.
Democrats are accusing President Trump.
of weaponizing the Justice Department against his critics.
The charges follow a recent search of John Bolton's home and office.
Bolton was Trump's national security advisor in his first term,
but he's become a major critic of the president.
Amperous Tamara Keith says the Justice Department actions now have other people worried.
Other outspoken critics of Trump are openly expressing concern that they could be next.
During the campaign, President Trump told supporters,
I am your retribution.
And many people sounded alarm.
so Trump said, no, no, no, don't worry.
All he meant was that success would be retribution.
It is now clear that, in fact, retribution is retribution.
That's NPR's Tamara Keith reporting.
The man who was wrongly deported by the Trump administration to an El Salvador prison
and then return months later is once again facing deportation.
Kilmar Obrego-Garcia was released from a Tennessee jail last week,
but his lawyers say the federal government is threatening to send him to Uganda.
His attorney, Simon Sandoval-Motionberg, says that can't happen.
He's got the right to seek protection from deportation to any country where he thinks his life or freedom is at risk.
It's called withholding of removal.
We think it's very clear that they can't put him on a plane to any country unless and until that whole proceeding has played out and he loses his case.
Unfortunately, I don't know that they agree with that.
And if it turns out that they think that they've got the right to deport him to Uganda before he goes in front of immigration judge and has his case hurt,
for protection to Uganda, we're going to have to be right back in federal court asking for them
not to be allowed to do that. Israel Sunday launched a series of airstrikes on the capital of Yemen.
The attacks came after Houthi militants fired missiles at Israel last week.
MPIRS Jackie Northam reports from Tel Aviv.
Israel's military says 10 fighter jets took part in the attack on targets in Yemen, including a
Houthi military site in the capital, Sanaa, as well as power plants and a fuel storage site
at an oil company. A video on social media shows a massive orange-colored
fireball over part of the city. The strikes come after Houthis launched a ballistic missile at Israel
on Friday. Israeli officials say the missile carried a coaster bomb the first time this type of
munition has been launched from Yemen. Houthi rebels have repeatedly fired missiles and drones at Israel
since the start of the Gaza war nearly two years ago in solidarity with the Palestinians.

In Gaza, meanwhile, witnesses and hospital officials say Israeli troops opened fire on a crowd
of people moving toward an aid distribution site
south of Gaza City on Sunday.
Four Palestinians were killed
and at least two others were injured.
Stocks in Asia rallied on Monday
following hints Friday that the Federal Reserve
could soon lower interest rates in the U.S.
Hong Kong's Hangseng Index jumped 2.1% in the trading
while the Shanghai Composite Index
was up 0.9%. The index
is trading at its highest level in a decade.

The latest launch attempt
for SpaceX's starship rocket was scrub Sunday night.
Officials say they needed time to troubleshoot a problem with some ground systems.
The flight was canceled 30 minutes before launch time.
SpaceX says another attempt could take place as early as today.
Veteran character actor Jerry Adler died this weekend at the age of 96.
He was best known for roles in TV series, such as The Sopranos and The Good Wife.
But as Jeff London reports, acting was Adler's second career.
Long before he became known as HASH, Tony Sopranos advisor on the HBO hit The Sopranos,
Jerry Adler had a distinguished first act as a stage manager and director on Broadway.
Born to a theatrical family, his cousin was famed acting teacher Stella Adler,
he worked on the original Broadway productions of gentlemen prefer blondes and My Fair Lady as a stage manager.
It wasn't until he was in his 60s that Adler started
acting, and he constantly worked. On Northern Exposure, mad about you, and transparent, among other
shows, and returned to Broadway as an actor in a couple of roles beginning in 2000. For NPR News,

over Nevada. Lin Chinseh retired the first 13 batters he faced and allowed just one hit in five

in its first ever title game. I'm Dale Wilman at PR News.
