Starting point is 00:00:00 America's thirst for oil and gas has left a vast landscape of wells, but most don't produce much oil at all. These piddly little wells that are just drip-drabbing a little bit of profit while polluting, they're not worth it. Starting point is 00:00:30 Kowtel. Ukraine is recovering from another heavy night of Russian attacks. The Keeve Independent reports that city officials say at least two people have died, including a one-year-old child. Videos in local media reports also showed a government building in the capital billowing in orange smoke nearby Maidan or Independent Square. While thousands of anti-government protesters demonstrated against President Trump's deployment of National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., the President posted a meme on social media early Saturday that appeared to threaten Chicago with troops and deportations. The post-shocked Chicago Priscilla Reed, who says activists are making preparations. We're organizing to document detentions, report them, and do our best to defend people who are detained. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker replied on social media saying, quote, this is not a joke. This is not normal. For NPR News, I'm Adriana Cardona McGigad in Chicago. 10,000 flight attendants at Air Canada have overwhelmingly rejected the airline's latest wage offer. Dan Carpenshuk reports.
Starting point is 00:02:07 The Canadian Union of Public Employees argued that if they accepted the offer, flight attendants would still make less than the federal minimum wage. Air Canada offered a 12% increase for most junior flight attendants and an 8% increase for senior members. A three-day strike ended nearly three weeks ago over wage. and work for unpaid hours on the job. The union says the wage issue is being referred to mediation, and if necessary, it will go to arbitration.

Starting point is 00:03:25 A young boy has been given a special prize after a home run ball given to him was taken away by another fan during a Philadelphia Phillies and Miami Marlins game. NPR's Chandelese, Duster has more. And Bader just unloads on this one, deep left field, and that one is gone as big. That Harrison Bader home run is a moment one young baseball fan will never forget. especially after he was given the home run ball, at least for a moment. Video shows the ball landed in front of a woman before being grabbed by a man who gave it to the kid. The woman confronts the man, shouting, quote, that was mine. You took it from me.
Starting point is 00:04:06 The man then takes the ball from the boy and hands it to the woman who walks away. When word of the incident reached Marlins' team officials, the boy was given a prize pack that included baseballs. He also met Harrison Bader, who gave him. women autographed baseball bat. South Korea's president is looking to solve the detention of nearly 500 Korean nationals detained days ago, following an immigration raid at a Hyundai plant near Savannah, Georgia.

Myeong said the rights and interest of South Korean nationals and the business operations of South Korean companies investing in the U.S. must not be infringed upon. Meanwhile, Seoul's Yon Hap News Agency reports consular officials, have been meeting with detained workers at an ICE facility in Folkston, Georgia.
