Coming up on the indicator from Planet Money is Love Week, our week-long series exploring
the business and economics of romance.
Ever wonder how cable channels crank out so many rom-coms around Christmas time?
Or wish you could get relationship advice from an economist.
I'm listening.
That's Love Week from the indicator.
Listen on your podcast app or smart speaker. Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Janene Herbst.
With just 10 days to go to the election, both presidential candidates are campaigning in
swing states today.
Vice President Harris is in Michigan at a rally in Kalamazoo with former First Lady
Michelle Obama, who noted there are different standards for the two candidates. We expect her to be intelligent and articulate, to have a clear set of policies, to never
show too much anger, to prove time and a time again that she belongs. But for Trump, we
expect nothing at all.
Michelle Obama is the latest in a long line of high-profile supporters of Harris, including
Beyonce, who appeared with Harris in Houston last night.
Earlier, Harris visited a doctor's office talking about reproductive rights.
Former President Donald Trump, meanwhile, campaigned in two states today, Michigan this morning,
and the Detroit suburbs, where he again slammed the city as needing help.
Alex McClennan of Member Station WDET has more.
Trump ruffled feathers earlier this month with a speech at the Detroit Economic Club
where he warned the local crowd the entire country would end up a, quote, mess like Detroit
if he's not elected.
At a rally in the Detroit suburb of Novi on Saturday,
he doubled down on those remarks, saying Detroit isn't what it once was.
So I said it needs help and people said, oh, he wasn't positive. I can't be positive.
I'll be positive within two years. I'll be positive.
From PR News, I'm Alex McLennan in Detroit.
Trump picked up a number of endorsements from the large Muslim and Arab American communities
in the state, including the mayor of Dearborn Heights, who is Muslim.
Tonight Trump is campaigning in Pennsylvania.
One of three journalists who was killed by an Israeli airstrike yesterday in southern
Lebanon was buried in Hezbollah's cemetery
in Beirut today.
And Pirs Arzu-Rezvani has more.
Family, friends and colleagues stood before the shrouded body of cameraman Ghassan Najjar
Saturday morning.
They recited prayers, kissed the body and buried him in a cemetery that is mainly for
Hezbollah's killed fighters.
Though Najar worked for a pro-Iran, pro-Palestinian news channel aligned with Hezbollah, he was
not known to be a member of the Iran-backed political and militant group.
Still, the family requested his body be wrapped in Hezbollah's green and yellow flag as a
symbol of resistance.
Najar was killed Friday along with two other journalists. Others from international news organizations
were wounded in the attack,
even though their cars were clearly marked press
and the town they were in was widely considered to be safe.
Lebanon's information minister called the attack a war crime.
Israel says it's reviewing the airstrike.

In Los Angeles tonight, game two of the World Series takes place between the Los Angeles
Dodgers and New York Yankees after the Dodgers won the opener with a dramatic walk-off Grand
Slam home run. More from Steve Futterman.
It may be next to impossible to top last night's dramatics, but the two teams are set to return
to Dodger Stadium.
As climactic as Friday night's ending was, the Dodgers only lead one game to none, and
it takes four wins to capture the series.
Even the game one hero, Freddie Freeman, who hit the walk-off home run, is trying to put
things in perspective.
Everyone's been talking about this all week, and for us to get that first win, especially like that,
that's pretty good, but we got three more to go.
For the Yankees, a loss like this
can have an impact beyond just the game.
But a win in game two would even the series
at a game of peace, with the next three set to take place
at Yankee Stadium.
For NPR News, I'm Steve Futterman in Los Angeles.
It was a massive cheddar hall in London.
Neil's Yard Dairy says a con artist posing as a wholesale distributor for a major French
retailer made off with more than 48,000 pounds of award-winning cheddar.
That hall is worth nearly $400,000.
The dairy, a distributor, wholesaler and retailer of British artisanal cheese says
the high value of the cheeses makes them a target for the thieves.
Now, an international manhunt is on for those who are responsible.
