Donald Trump rallied at Madison Square Garden in New York City tonight, touching on familiar
themes.
With your vote in this election, I will end inflation.
I will stop the invasion of criminals coming into our country, and I will bring back the
American dream.
We need the American dream. We need the American dream.
The rally started with a number of the former president's allies speaking, making racist
remarks vulgar insults and using profanity.
One comedian called the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage,
drawing sharp criticism from politicians and Puerto Rican superstars Bad Bunny and Ricky
Martin.
The deep blue state isn't a swing state, but Trump was born in New York.
He claims he will take the state in the election in nine days,
but he lost his home state by around 23 percentage points during the 2016 and 2020 elections.
And billionaire Elon Musk has been one of Trump's biggest supporters.
He also appeared at Madison Square Garden tonight.
It's been two years since he took control of Twitter and renamed it X. been one of Trump's biggest supporters. He also appeared at Madison Square Garden tonight.
It's been two years since he took control of Twitter and renamed it X. And here's Shannon
Bond reports.
Shannon Bond Since taking over Twitter, Elon Musk has welcomed
back previously banned users, including former President Donald Trump, and tweaked the algorithm
to boost his own posts. Now, Musk has become one of Trump's biggest political surrogates.
He's put more than $100 million into his own pro-Trump super PAC and is campaigning
for the former president in Pennsylvania.
Musk is also using Axis as megaphone, posting frequently to his 200 million followers in
support of Trump and amplifying unverified rumors and false claims about election fraud.
Another one of Musk's companies, SpaceX, is a major government contractor. Trump has
said if elected, he may give Musk a role auditing federal spending. Shannon Bond, NPR News.
And Vice President Kamala Harris spent the day crisscrossing the city of Philadelphia.
And Piers Azmahalit has more.
The vice president specifically was trying to energize black and brown voters, focused
on energizing voters in the key state of Pennsylvania.
Here she is at a rally in Philadelphia.
There is too much on the line and we must not wake up the day after the election and
have any regrets about what we could have done in these next nine days.
Harris had a series of smaller retail stops today, visiting a black barber shop and later
a Puerto Rican restaurant where she spoke about her plan for economic development and investment in the electrical grid on the
island. Asma Khalid in PR News.

Egypt is proposing a two-day ceasefire in Gaza and the release of four hostages. The
country, a key mediator in the Israel-Hamas war, says the proposal also includes the release
of some Palestinian prisoners, the delivery
of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and negotiations on making that ceasefire permanent. The U.S.
and Israeli intelligence officials met trying to jump-start the ceasefire talks. This is

Game three of the World Series will be played tomorrow night in New York between the L.A.
Dodgers and the New York Yankees. Dodgers superstar Shohei Otani is expected to play despite a shoulder
injury he suffered last night. Manager Dave Roberts says he expects him to play if he feels
good enough to. A summit of former British colonies has ended in the island nation of Samoa.
Leaders agreed to begin a dialogue about reparations for Britain's leading role in the island nation of Samoa. Leaders agreed to begin a dialogue about reparations
for Britain's leading role in the slave trade,
which ended in the 1800s.
Vicki Barker has more.
All 56 members of the British Commonwealth
signed the agreement, including British Prime Minister
Keir Starmer.
He has repeatedly insisted the UK will not
pay financial reparations over its part in the transatlantic
slave trade.
But Bahamas Foreign Minister Frederick Mitchell says opening up a dialogue could be the crucial
first step towards an eventual payout, telling the BBC.
So you start from a position of I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to do it.
And then things evolve, and so that's why the discussion and the beginning of the discussion
is very important.
That discussion will begin at a conference in London next March.

At the weekend box office, Venom, the last dance, debuted in the top spot with an estimated
