Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris campaigned in the battleground state of Pennsylvania
on Sunday.
She went to church in Philadelphia and later held a rally at a community center in North
Philly.
She told attendees that the November election provides an opportunity for Americans to move
the country into the future.
We have an opportunity before us to turn the page on the fear and the divisiveness that have characterized our
politics for a decade because of Donald Trump.
Republican candidate Trump, meanwhile, was in New York City where he held a rally at
Madison Square Garden.
Brooklyn resident Yin Tang was among those who were at the rally.
She says she's been campaigning for Trump in Pennsylvania.
He knows what is the best for American people.
And I think at this point we need to secure the border.
We have to fix the migrant issue right now.
Because the migrant crisis is actually affecting every district in our country.
During his speech, Trump said that on his first day in office, he would begin the largest
deportation of undocumented immigrants in the country's history.
Japan's ruling coalition led by Prime Minister Ishigero Ishiba lost a majority of the 400 just deportation of undocumented immigrants in the country's history.
Japan's ruling coalition led by Prime Minister Ishigero Ishiba lost a majority of the 465-seat
lower house during elections on Sunday.
Voters were outraged over the extensive financial scandals of the governing party.
Ishiba's Liberal Democratic Party still remains the top party in the country's parliament,
but the election results mean he will have a tougher time getting his proposals approved.
An official briefed on the ceasefire talks proposed by Egypt says Israel has not rejected
the proposal but is waiting until after the US elections.
Another round of talks, meanwhile, is expected in the coming days.
We have details from the BBC's Yolande Nel.
Talks seeking a comprehensive phased ceasefire in Gaza have repeatedly stalled.
But many see Israel's killing of the Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar earlier this month
as having created a new opportunity to make progress on a deal.
Israel says that meetings in Doha will look at the various possibilities to restart negotiations
for the release of dozens of hostages still held by Hamas.
While Hamas is not taking part, many of its leaders are based in Qatar.
In an effort to break the deadlock in talks, Egypt has proposed a two-day
truce during which four hostages would be freed.
The plan also includes the release of some Palestinian prisoners held by Israel,
the delivery of desperately needed humanitarian aid to Gaza,
and 10 days of negotiations on a permanent ceasefire.
That's the BBC's Yulande Nel with our report.
Nobel Peace Prize laureate Nojis Mohammadi is now in a hospital.
She's been in prison and serving a 30-month sentence.
And activists say she has been feeling sick for almost nine weeks.
Mohammadi has heart disease. Authorities added another 15 months to her sentence
last January and an additional six months sentence was added to her term
this weekend
for protesting the execution of another political prisoner.

With about a week until election day, some 35 million voters around the
country have cast their ballots early for this fall's election.
As NPR's Hansi Le Wang reports, election and postal service officials are all urging mail-in voters to return their ballots as soon as possible in order to avoid getting them rejected.
If you're planning to vote by mail, the postal service is urging you to check your state's deadline and return your ballot at least one week before that date, which may be coming
up very soon now that the last day of voting is about one week away.
Absentee voters could also consider turning in their ballot at their local election office
or at any available drop box.
Today is the last chance for eligible voters in Colorado and Washington to sign up online
to vote in this election.
Those who miss this deadline can still register in person through Election Day.
There's also time to sign up in person in the swing states of Michigan, Nevada, and
Wisconsin.
But Wisconsinites, take note, you can get registered at your municipal clerk's office
through Friday or wait to register and vote at the polls on November 5th.

The movie Venom the Last Dance offered
less bite than expected at the box office this weekend. While it brought in a
healthy 51 million dollars overall, it's been projected to come in closer to 65
million in North American ticket sales. It performed well overseas though with a
124 million dollar haul. Smile 2, meanwhile, dropped into second place, bringing
in $9.4 million. Conclave, the papal thriller, launched by bringing in $6.5 million. It's a
major Oscar contender. I'm Dale Willman, NPR News. Support for this podcast and the following
