Pennsylvania has been one of the most closely watched states in this year's presidential race.
Starting point is 00:00:29 With only a few days left before the election, many voters have already made up their minds, but there are others who remain on the fence. NPR's Windsor Johnston spoke to both groups. WINSOR JOHNSTON Sarah Hutchins is a registered Democrat in Bucks County, a suburb of Philadelphia. Starting point is 00:00:55 really, really important to me. Alice Broadley lives in Meadville in the northwestern part of the state. She's a registered Republican and says she hasn't decided on whether to vote. I'm not enthusiastic about either person. It doesn't matter to me what party they belong to. It's the personality and the past history. Recent polling shows roughly 3 percent of Pennsylvania voters say they're still undecided.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Windsor-Johnston NPR News. Georgia's Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger says his state will have voting results posted by 8 p.m. Eastern Time Tuesday. Raffensperger tells CNN that turnout is already brisk in the state. I think voters are engaged on both sides of the aisle. What we just want to do is make sure we have a fair, honest, accurate process. And that's what we do. We have photo ID for all forms of voting. I've done two citizenship audits of the voter rolls to make sure only American citizens are voting in our elections, have a clean voter list.
Starting point is 00:01:49 But then we also want to improve the process so we can streamline. We have electronic pollpats, checking people in under two minutes. Voters have a great voter experience. Raffensperger says he is aware of a fake video purportedly showing a Haitian immigrant claiming to have voted multiple times. He says that video was likely produced at Russian troll farms in order to sow discord and chaos in the U.S. election. Striking machinists at Boeing will vote next week on yet another contract offer.

Boeing has once again improved its contract offer to the Machinist Union. The latest proposal would boost wages by 38 percent over four years, along with a $12,000 ratification bonus. Union leaders are endorsing the latest proposal.
Starting point is 00:02:37 In a statement, they say it's time to, quote, lock in these gains and confidently declare victory. Union members voted down two previous proposals from the company. The strike, which is approaching the seven-week mark, has halted production at Boeing's factories in the Pacific Northwest. The union, which represents 33,000 workers, will vote on the latest proposal on Monday. Joel Rose, NPR News, Washington. A Pennsylvania judge is delaying a decision on a lawsuit against billionaire Elon Musk
Starting point is 00:03:03 while a federal court decides whether to take over the case. Philadelphia's district attorney is suing Musk for giving away a million dollars to randomly selected registered voters who sign a petition to support free speech and gun rights. This is NPR. Los Angeles County is suing PepsiCo and Coca-Cola, citing their roles in plastic pollution. The lawsuit alleges the beverage manufacturers misled the public about the recyclability of their plastic bottles. Coke and Pepsi are also being accused of downplaying negative environmental impacts of plastic disposal.
Starting point is 00:03:38 A spokesperson representing both companies denies the accusations and says the plastic bottles are designed to be recycled. Rapper Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffrey Williams, is expected to be released from jail after spending nearly two and a half years behind bars. This after Williams pleaded guilty to six counts in a gang and racketeering trial, the longest criminal case in Georgia history. From member station WABE, Shemane Cruz reports from Atlanta. Starting point is 00:04:12 Fulton County prosecutors couldn't agree on what his punishment should be. That left sentencing up to the judge. While prosecutors said they wanted Williams to serve 25 years in prison plus 20 years on probation. The judge ultimately sentenced him to time served and 15 years of probation. The judge is also requiring Williams to return to the city of Atlanta to conduct anti-gang seminars for school-aged children as part of his community service.
