Former President Trump's campaign schedule includes North Carolina stops every day through
Monday.
This afternoon outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, Trump pitched his candidacy to suburban
women.
This as women have put in a strong showing among early voters.
NPR's Sarah McCammon has the latest from Gastonia, North Carolina.
Trump spent several minutes making a pitch to suburban women who tend to be swing voters.
I will protect our women.
I'm going to protect our women.
I got into so much trouble.
You saw that.
I said, we will protect because I keep hearing I think the women love me I do."
Trump later referred to Vice President Harris as a quote weak and foolish woman.
Harris and her allies have been working to win over suburban women who previously voted for Trump.

With less than three days before the will of the voters can be known the question increasingly
put to former President Trump
and Vice President Kamala Harris is,
what does day one of your presidency look like?
And Piers Ossmachalit has this answer from the Democrat.
Harris has said her top legislative priority
is a package of bills to lower costs
on everything from childcare to housing.
Here she is in response to a question I asked her today.
Day one is also me getting on the phone with members of the Republican Party, with leaders,
with the private sector. A lot of my plan includes working with the private sector.
Yesterday at a local union hall in Wisconsin, Harris also promised to sign an executive
order on her first day to eliminate college degree requirements for
some federal jobs.

Ahead of this coming Tuesday's vote, the Biden administration has stepped up efforts to resolve
conflicts in Lebanon and in Gaza.
As NPR's Danielle Estrin reports from Tel Aviv, Israel is awaiting the outcome of the
U.S.
presidential elections as it considers its next moves in the region.
Israel is engaged in three main battles against Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran.
Nadav Strauchler, a former political strategist for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,
says Netanyahu could have helped the Biden-Harris administration score political points ahead
of the election with progress on ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon.
But Netanyahu is first waiting to see if former President Donald Trump, who is Netanyahu's
close ally, wins the elections.
I don't seem rushing for a deal until the election.
You will wait.
So there's something that doesn't help this administration and maybe somehow does
help Trump.
The next president will also be a key decision maker on any future Israeli strikes in Iran,
potentially targeting its nuclear program.
Iran's supreme leader is threatening a quote, crushing response following Israel's strikes
on Iran last week.

Los Angeles County is suing Pepsi and Coke for their role in
plastic pollution. NPR's Julia Simon reports the county alleges that the
companies have misled the public about how recyclable their products really
are. The complaint filed in an LA court this week said the companies have used
quote disinformation campaigns deceptively promising that recycling can offset any
harm associated with single-use plastics. The lawsuit says PepsiCo overplayed the
recyclability of its bottles and Coca-Cola promised plastic bottles can
be reused an endless number of times. The reality is that lots of plastic can't
be recycled at all. If it can be recycled, it often can't be recycled more than once. Most plastics are made from fossil fuels, and much of it takes
centuries to decompose. This is one of a growing number of lawsuits about plastic recycling.
This fall, the state of California sued ExxonMobil for allegedly misleading the public on plastic
recycling. PepsiCo and Coca-Cola did not respond to NPR's requests for comment.

he was taken to Maui Medical Center.
A 2 a.m. local time Sunday clocks across most of the U.S. turn back one hour to standard time.
Arizona and Hawaii are always on standard time and they don't participate in daylight savings. So,
in general, you should be able to look forward to an extra hour of rest overnight.
