Speaking at a rally on Sunday, former President Donald Trump urged Georgians to show up to
the polls on Tuesday and not let early voting numbers lead to complacency.
NPR's Stephen Fowler reports from a state that's crucial for Trump's path to victory
on tomorrow.
He arrived 90 minutes late and was noticeably hoarse from doing two earlier swing state
rallies.
The stump speech was his usual dire vision of America replete with attacks on his opponents and bragging about the size of
his crowds and status in the polls. It's his final stop in Georgia, a state that
he lost narrowly in 2020 and has become must win in 2024.
Because winning this vote and by the way winning this state, we win this state and it's over. It's over.
So get out there and do it.
More than four million Georgians cast their ballots ahead of election day.
Stephen Fowler, NPR News.
Vice President Kamala Harris, meanwhile, had several stops on Sunday in Michigan,
including on the campus of Michigan State University, where she encouraged students
to remain engaged in the election process.
Nobody can sit on the sidelines. Let's spend the next two days so that when we look back we have no regrets that we did everything we could.
So let's knock on doors. Let's text. Let's call the voters.
Harris also sent in her California absentee ballots and in doing so join more than 77 million other Americans who
have voted early. Today Harris will wrap up her campaign in Pennsylvania. Four years ago Joe Biden
won Pennsylvania by fewer than two percentage points. This year's Democrats are working to
deliver it for Harris by organizing beyond urban and suburban democratic strongholds.
As MPR's Elena Moore reports,
they're focusing on small towns and rural areas
where former President Donald Trump one-handedly last time.
Indiana County, Pennsylvania,
sits more than an hour east of Pittsburgh.
In 2020, Trump carried it by more than 37 points,
but local Democratic Party Chair Lynn Alveen
still has a goal for this year, narrow the margins.
Our motto is lose by less.
We don't imagine that we can win
the vote for Harris in Indiana County,
but we can bring out enough
democratic votes. The Harris
campaign and Pennsylvania Democrats
have opened 50 offices statewide,
16 of those in counties that Trump
won by double digits in 2020.
The Trump campaign isn't phased
banking that on the economy and immigration, Trump still
resonates.

Authorities in the Spanish region of Valencia have extended traffic restrictions and school
closures as the cleanup continues following Tuesday's flash floods.
Residents of one town vented their fury on Sunday, pelting King Felipe, Queen Letizia
and the Prime Minister with mud.
The King said he understood their anger.
The BBC's Bethany Bell reports.
There have been further storms and more rain.
The situation for rescue workers and the victims of last week's floods has become even more
difficult.
The Spanish Civil Guard says it's deployed more staff.
The police are using search dogs and drones to help locate people who might be trapped
in hard-to-reach areas.
There are still no official figures about the numbers of people still
unaccounted for. That's the BBC's Bethany Bell reporting.
Dozens of homes have been evacuated near Austin, Texas as fire crews work to contain a massive
fire there. The Hudson fire started Sunday afternoon and by nightfall it had spread to
400 acres. Will Sellers says he doesn't know if his dogs and goats are
safe on the property. Pretty nervous, definitely definitely more concerned about them than the
material stuff over there. Sheila Chepkiri of Kenya won the New York City Marathon in the women's
event on Sunday. She finished with a time of two hours 24 minutes and 35 seconds. For the man, Abde Nugai of the Netherlands placed
first with a six second lead over challenger Evans Shubet. Nugai won in two hours seven minutes and
39 seconds. I'm Dale Willman, NPR News. Support for this podcast and the following message come
